I have never felt that claustrophobic sitting in line to go get a hot dog because everybody was just kind of standing there because they aren't used to having. I mean, maybe now the attendance will turn. But last summer, I went to those Cubs game and I was like, what is going on here? You know you can blame for that? Cubs fans. That's why he. Oh, let's go back to Cubs fans. Yeah, well, he feels claustrophobic at the rate and he goes to games in Riggly. They never were conceded. Riggly is different now. Oh, is it? The Riggly that you and I were going to 20, 30 years ago is not the Riggly of today. I enjoy both ball parks. I have no problem with it. I especially Milwaukee because it's easier for me to get to Milwaukee than it can. It's easier to get to. Yeah, yeah. It's easier to get to M-Fam field than it is Riggly from my house. Yeah. On the south side. Yeah, absolutely. We turned out to AOC with the Wednesday edition. All right. And speaking of those white socks, we had the Murakami discussion yesterday. You obviously love to resign him before the inevitability of whatever the hell happens next year with Major League Baseball. But seeing Miguel Vargas on the biggest stage last night, we've seen him get the job done all year long. Shot or no shot. Miguel Vargas at age 26 right now should be the first $100 million contract given out on the south side. Before Murakami, huh? Well, it depends when each one of them wants to sign the papers. It's a no shot because Murakami said he wanted to stay here. You saw the comments. I do. Hey, he was asked by the press, Jesse was asked about whether or not he was to be afraid of me. He was there. He popped his head up there and asked him, say, buddy, you want to be with the white socks? He wanted to stay here, buddy. And he was he was more committed than than I've seen a quote from Vargas. So I mean, for me, it's Murakami's. It's a no shot. Give me the quote from Vargas on a white socks weekly. Has he said anything about trying to be with the white socks long term? No. No, if he's been asked, but it Miller did it. Miller find out Jeff Miller. He's part of the white socks broadcast team, by the way, Jeff Miller working with Lynn Casper and Darren Jackson on the socks network. So so it's a no shot. It's Murakami first. We've talked about this chapter in verse, but I'll bring it up again to you, Nick, is that because Murakami has set the socks on fire in the first half of the season, it's a no brainer for the socks brass to go to Japan and find out number one, what other sponsorships they could bring to the rate? Yes. I don't care if the all the outfield walls are in Japanese. It doesn't matter to me because if that means more money going to the coffers of the socks, I got no problem with that. You know, that helps. And Murakami said that he'd like to be with the socks long haul. I don't know what that price tag is, but he would be the one making more money than been attending. I like for that to be first. Murakami's got to be the guy. And hoodie, having been lucky enough last year to be in Tokyo when the cubs were there, playing show in the Dodgers, that market and that whole region is just mad for baseball. So I think the point about getting some more money in through that way is very well taken. And if you're the white socks, do everything you can to mark it over there because this kid is unbelievable and he's only getting more comfortable in this kind of whole new way of life of baseball that he's in right now. So you say it's a no shot. No shot on Vargas being first. I know you want them both for the long haul, but Murakami's first. He got to be the first guy. That's the cornerstone. Again, with Vargas, man, I'm so impressed. I'm so impressed with that guy. He has really helped this team elevate this team and his flexibility to play multiple positions. That helps. All right. What else do we have, sir? Yeah. Just quick. It feels refreshing to have the, you know, for a while it was thought of, oh, they'll never sign a hundred million dollar player. Now you both have, like you said, the amount of money in the influx of cash you can get in with Japanese sponsorships. You also have it should be awaiting in the wings. He's got a bit of money himself. And if Jerry isn't willing to pony up, I think there's a conversation to be had there. And Mr. Walton from the Walmart company. Oh, yeah. Mr. Walton. All right. He's a minority owner. I saw that. So that's, that helps the Walmart money. It helps to. It's never around. It never ending. That money. Give me an extra pair of tube socks and some back to school wear and give me Murakami. There you go. All right. Moving on to the north side. The Cubs not going to roster move yesterday. The DFA Jake Woodford and brought back Phil Mayton from the injury list. Yep. Okay. Shout out to no shout as good as the second half offense can be for this Cubs team. And we've seen PCA just be the best player in the world for the past couple weeks. Nico Horner seems to have fallen out of favor, fallen off a cliff. But you know the talents there from Nico. I saw it at the beginning of the year. You saw it at the end of last year. Shout out no shot. Regardless of the offense, the Cubs pitching injuries will still make or break the second half of the season. Yeah. That's a shot. The offense has been up and down all season. But the pitching is the thing that could hold the Cubs back. If you don't have consistent starting pitching, you get what you deserve. It's amazing. And it's a great story about the Cubs. The resolve. Despite having multiple stars out, multiple levers out to closers out, everything's going on. But yet that's the. the team has stayed healthy from an offensive standpoint for the most part. That's quite the story because you're supposed to fall completely off the cliff and out of playoff race when you lose all your pitching like this cups, finding a way. It's the most twisted season I can remember with the ups and downs, especially in a first half hoodie. But this, the Aiden's question is a major shot because I don't know what to think anymore with this group. I just still for as solid as they've been and as great as PCA's been. Sadly, I just don't think it's going to end the way that Cubs fans wanted to because you can't overcome all the different things that they've had to hit. So as I watch them, I think, all right, you just ride it out the next couple of months. You hope for the best. Maybe Jed makes a move. Either way, they just don't have enough. I mean, you could have said that in March too. Yeah, but in March, you had more hope because your pitching staff in theory was more loaded. Well, as you always say, do you have enough to win a title? No. And of course, you'd be faced up against the Dodgers and even at full strength, what does that look like with the Dodgers? Who, by the way, could be buyers at the deadline? I thought you were asking me that rhetorically like that was always my question. Do you like all right? Always have enough. No. Okay. Well, thanks. Well, that's what it is. We always ask, right? You've always asked me do you have enough? Do you have enough to win a championship? No. It is amazing. AOC. What Nick has had to go through on social media for actually having standards. As an unbiased journalist, it is amazing to be able to say, Hey, the centerpiece of your world should be able to win a championship. Boo. How could you be against that? That's what's a wild and I bring it back to the club just because we're in it right now. Yeah. 2016 hoodie. You and I both thought, hey, they have enough. Yes. Like they have enough. And then the old ad shabman, you go, Oh, man, they have every piece they need. It's the last time I've really felt that. I mean, in 2017, everybody saw the flaws, but you thought they'd get it together. When you watch this team, you can always kind of tell if you've watched for a long enough, the cubs or anybody else, if you can answer that question as you're watching them throughout the season. And as I watch them this year, I think they're trying like hell to hang in there. They've had some good runs. Do they have enough? No. Well, I mean, in 2016, like May 28, 29th of 2016, I talked to Sylvia. I said, Sylvie, your team's going to win the World Series. I said, it's a May. And he looked at me as if I was wearing, you know, turd earrings. And I sold him. I said, dude, like your team, I said, you're the Golden State Warriors. That's what I said at the time. I said, your team's going to go on a run now. Way. I was like, yeah, that's a World Series team. I know magic when I see it. I know what it looks like. When you have a magical run, it's like, yeah, you got it. You'll add more at the deadline, but your team has it. You've been through the doldrums and the what could be I said 2016. This is it. I agree with you completely. And I think that is the legacy of that team, especially for Cubs fans like me. What that team taught everybody was you know what it looks like when you see it. Sure, a team can go on a magic run in the regular season and maybe base noise in the playoffs, but to get all the way through and to win the World Series, you've got to be loaded up up and down your roster. That team in that moment was and now everything that they do from now until the end of time will be judged against that team and the magic that they created. Okay, do you have time for one more? I know we get around the NFL here. I do. This actually just came up. Jesse Rogers, another journalist as we just mentioned, yes, was given unprecedented access to the White Sox draft room last week and just scrolling through the first little blurb of his piece on Friday. Chris gets said, I can't I can't say we've got complete clarity yet. No harm in going through these guys again. They then split up into a 20 minute discussion on Cholowski in 20 minutes on Grady Emerson. And this is a very lengthy article from Jesse. I can't wait to read the whole thing. Chris gets said, regardless of where we go, I don't like our tool. Just effing make it happen. Shot or no shot. Chris gets has unequivocally earned the benefit of the doubt for Moit Sox fans. He also said he didn't like the team a few years ago. And rightfully so, that is a shot. This is his team. He deserves all the credit. He and his staff and the players deserve all the credit because Jerry Rindsdorf will not do what's right. And if you left it up to Jerry to be able to control this franchise, it would be a poverty franchise again. It just would. It's like that's not like hyperbole. It's what it is. You know why? Because we've got plenty of proof of those 100 lost teams in a major market and you're just and he was just good with it. When he push Chris gets into that role, I said, boy, isn't that failing up? Chris, Chris, Chris gets in the white socks organization from a minor league standpoint was somewhat in the middle kind of middle-ish. And it wasn't it wasn't necessarily bearing fruit. And so would gets being the general manager, Nick. Now the sudden you start seeing these young guys developing it get the right guy with the right temperament and venable as the manager. And that staff said, oh, we can't spend money. We're not going to get the top free agents. Okay, well, we're just going to put the kids in a position so they can succeed. And then hopefully it works out and now vibes with the guy I'm here. But Jerry, thank you for turning the lights on at the rate, but you get no credit for me as a socks fan for what's happening right now. You refuse to spend the money. So now you have to do other things as I told Dion yesterday is going to all these and then coming in with coupons at the same time. You're clipping coupons double up. Yeah, it is a double up. It is the double of the coupons and all the to be able to put a team together. hoodie. I only say no shot because they didn't use the word unequivocally. And if you say that, then you have zero doubt that this guy should ever be questioned because of what they've accomplished now and what they built. I still have some doubts that what we've seen in the first half is going to carry over all the way through. Even if we all acknowledge that they're in a hell of a lot better place than they've been in a long, long time. So gets deserves a ton of credit, but I don't think they've turned the corner completely yet because they have been so bad for so long. I just want to see a little bit more. Think about it from his standpoint when AOC's asking, you went from zero expectations to this. None. No expectations to what are you all right now. That's all on gets and his staff because it's all it's mind-leaked talent. You don't have any more questions now. You think they're there as far as the structure of the organization is exactly where it needs to be and everybody's going to keep improving. At this time, yes, he asked the question today, so I feel that way today. Will I feel that way after the deadline? Not sure. See? And that's where the rubber meets the road here, right? I don't expect the white socks to be able to be in the in the big sweepstakes for free agents because that's not who they are. It's a line of teams that want to be in the areas. Well, no, right. But the thing is, Beggars can't be choosers. When you've lost 100 plus games over and over again and you have no hope, I'll take what's happening now and feel like you can build on what you're doing. But again, all that credit will go to get in his staff. It won't go. It will go to ownership when I see money spent. And I don't mean just the, we got your 10.3 million dollar bonus for Chalowski. That's cool. I'm glad you're a bonus because otherwise, he'd be he'd be an on different team. I know he loved being, you know, he loves Buster Posey.
