The Calorie Guy Explains How You Can Eat KFC and Still Lose Weight (Chris William)

The speaker, known as the "calorie guy," reflects on his journey from fitness coaching to content creation. He started with transformation photos and client testimonials, but his business faced major setbacks when he spread himself thin across ventures like a barbershop, tattoo clinic, supplements, and clothing. His biggest mistake was investing $1.5 million and five years into a flawed app project that never launched, due to poor tech foundations and lack of focus. This failure taught him the value of sticking to one thing and embracing humility. He now uses his platform to promote simple health principles, like eating whatever but not too much, often showcasing junk food diets for educational purposes. This led to the creation of Bipro, an AI-powered app that simplifies health tracking by analyzing menus and food photos. His viral "Zinger no Mayo" recommendation at KFC turned into a collaboration, resulting in "Chris's Big Bro combo" on the menu. He credits his audience for making it happen and appreciates that his father, who doesn't understand online success, can now see a tangible achievement.

I was crispy cream guy. I was cream bun guy. I was shut up. You're annoying. I sunk about a million a half and five years into it and never even got to take it to market. That project had to die for by-product level. You would have a big Mac meal, but you wouldn't have seven crispy's for that. My diet now is It's worse than it's ever been for educational purposes. I'm trying to make it seem getting in shape staying healthy as A tiny ball is possible eat whatever just don't eat too much. Whatever. It's got my name on it, bro. I can't say like I can't say anything else Royal stacks who doesn't love a double stack burger. What about cheese-covered potato gems or a mac and cheese croquette? Stass on all right today. We are joined by Chris. You're knowing him as limiless the calorie guy I've been called worse things you know, I'll go by whatever. I'll go by whatever but like recently the calorie guys Whatever on the calorie that's really taken off. Yeah, I was like I was crispy cream guy. I was cream bun guy I was shut up. You're annoying In high school, I go, are there any kids that tune into this? No, you're like that's it I've been called a lot of things a lot of times. Calorie goes not bad down for that You're not doing crispy's as much lately. I feel I mean am I wrong in that I'd still there. No, they're still there like they still serve the purpose they did originally Which was just to put things in perspective for those that don't don't get calories, you know, but I'd rather be the calorie guy I'm again, I'm down for it. I'm not complaining But I've been like anabolic tate of being like you know, I mean Vnd like I've had it all bro Half the time Johnny scenes bro half my skits are inspired by comments because people will call me names and be like That's a great idea That's right. I love it bro. I love it Like but did you start eating start off with skits right tell us about how you started off It was your fear how did you start? So like are we going way back? Because I've got like 10.1 K post pro So like why are you so like I've only been reading in front of the camera the last I'd say or year and a half that's that's that's the kind of content that everyone's familiar with Yeah, of course, yeah, but prior to that it was all just transformation photos. Yeah All right, I was just client testimonials basically What because we were kind of a bit of a The business went through transitional phases phases originally it was like I was leveraging access to me And I was coaching and then I built a team we were leveraging access to the team and it would sort of like I Just I just got way too ahead of myself and I was like oh for this I read some books for this business to be sellable They can't be key man risk order. I took my name off the door before the business has even worth anything So like I was trying to you know the problem too had it too far and then ultimately what happened I made Didn't understand the importance of focus made some business decisions that weren't the greatest thankful I learned lessons when I did but pretty much like ran out of money to run ads and I was like well I've got to I've got to generate lead somehow. I've got to generate interest Guess I'm gonna start getting front of the camera and yeah making a fool myself, you know like that wasn't I mean that was not easy to do because the alternative was will I got to pay rent Like the former self doesn't seem as bad as like homelessness. Let's go Like it was actually really easy. Yeah, were you nervous? Not getting in front of the camera so what I'm listening so no wasn't that bad but like for me I was like well I've got a team that that's their livelihoods at the time. I still had a pretty big team And I was like well their livelihood depends on me like being able to generate solving this problem that we have You know, so like we had to he had to generate leads to Warren's you know like still paying the staff the wages that I was intending to pay them Yeah, so like obviously ran out of money to run ads and I was like okay Well, we got to generate interest somehow this it that no no wasn't too well at all So this is all in relation to Bible right now prior process. Right. This is where like we are So limitless training was like the normal online coaching Yeah, let me let's try to be around for like like I started coaching when I was 18 Wow, and that was that was the name of the business limitless training. That's the name of the instrument. Yeah, that's what it was Pro so I've been I've been doing this quite a while back when I had hair You said earlier you have curls right? I look like in school bro would have to show you a photo. I look like Accommodation like Borat and Napoleon Donnelly Like and like he's a thing my I've got formal photos pro that the We can laugh about it now, but at the time I thought I was killing it right I literally my year 12 formal great suit And I had aviated from the service section and this was prior to Borat and then bought the Borat movie came out Gray suit aviados. I literally look like what I like I feel like I might have inspired that look Maybe he's sort of like I thought it was cool until he rocked it and like as a joke. Yeah, like oh man At the time I thought I was killing it, but no that's if I grow it yeah it goes curly. Yeah, man And then so how did bike bar come about obviously yeah, yeah, so we we started like oh I I Coaching for basically like 12 years now. Oh, I'd say seven years in so like went from went from leveraging access to me To then okay to scale this further. I need to build a team I'm just a one-man band at the moment built a team got really distracted I did barbershops ride because many tattooed clinics. I did supplements clothing like and an effort to prove I was really smart I proved I didn't understand the importance of focus like that was that that was one of the the biggest Mistakes I made but I'm glad I made it when I did because I would have made the same mistake with more resources later on in track But I started building an app because the bet I made was people are always gonna want things faster and cheaper and Tech makes luxury luxury accessible. So I'm like that's it's gonna reduce our labor costs We can afford to provide programming for a cheaper cost But I didn't know what good look like I was the fitness guy. I wasn't the tech guy so like ultimately I sunk about a million a half and five years into it and never even got to take it to market Yeah, it just went like wrong team behind it. It just In a nutshell the foundation was terrible the code was really really bad and Yeah, ultimately when I went to launch it that's when I had someone else ordered and they just said probably like I've got some bad news You've kind of you've been I was just a cash cow. I'd been struggling along for years because the dev companies make money Building that doesn't make money by you launching Like for me I was just trigger happy You know, I really wanted to create something exceptional and they at no point did and it wasn't there wasn't their job to like that Which is obviously you know that they had their best interests at home. Yeah, but I like To put things in perspective like you know it was like a push bike and I just like it had the tassels It had the bells it had the things in the spokes like I just kept adding stuff and then they're not gonna say no No, of course this thing was just like it had I had saddle bags on my push bike When when when your dad gets divorced and he goes and buys a Harley and he gets all of the stuff Yeah, I put all this time and all this energy into it and like ultimately the reason things didn't go well business-wise is because I was always like For about four years there while this product was getting built I was like there's no point Improving the product that we're currently selling because I've got this other thing coming It's gonna make it entirely redundant So like the market moved and we didn't because I was waiting on this this product to be finished and it was six months away For like four or five years that's kind of what happened and then like that was the poor decisions I made and instead of improving the products I just got more and more aggressive with like the sales team and stuff like that and it ended up costing It's reputation and yeah, and again just made some board decisions that cost us a lot of money But when it went sour I was ready to like I liquidated all my properties and like I was like I was all in I pretty much like nothing nothing left liquid I and I was ready to just rebuild what we like that original app Yeah, it's just very complicated very and I had a really good friend who's now who's now a business partner His name's Jordan much smarter than me and and nose tech and he just said listen man like technology's moved It's it's come a long way since like the start of that that project for you before you just go and throw your last dollar of this and Rebuild it consider is this the best product that could be built based on what's available now And that's when the idea for Bipro came about yeah It was the kind of like that project had to die for Bipro to live But I'm thankful things went the way they did and fell apart when they didn't they didn't just fall apart They fell apart sunk and then caught fire I'm thankful it happened because if I had to actually launch that product successfully Because it took so long to build I would have been I would have launched a Technology that was kind of redundant based on what was available at the time because like AI there was no AI I want to start building that yeah, well, it wasn't accessible. Yeah, of course Yeah, but then like by the time it was kind of ready to go AI was a thing and everyone's kind of using it And that's it's the foundation just wasn't even close to the like the foundation of Bipro What did it teach you always? Faye is really to begin with I the biggest the biggest lesson for me was like there's there's a reason Michael Phelps was a swimmer nor a swimmer No, runner like quite often what makes people exceptional is not What they're doing it's how long they can stick to something for without getting distracted like it's very hard to suck at something If it's all you do and you do it for an extended period of time and for me again Like I just didn't understand I was I was like ego ego bit me in the hours. I was like I had like Limitless training initially when I was just doing that Took off like a rocket had a lot of good fortune I can I had a lot of people that had a lot of faith in me that that listened to what I had to say They got great results and it kind of just snowballed like oh it all to them But it did really well and I was like man. I'm a genius like I've got the money Oh, no like 20-year-old Chris the man Right always like man. I'm a genius. I've got the monitor touch watch this like we're gonna prove I'm not a one-trick party So I sent up all these different things spread myself really really thin Yeah, and he just got to the point that that I was making a millimeter progress in a million directions So I had all these businesses, but none of them were great 'cause I was so spread thin. So like, you're laugh, but like, I had a barb shop. What, what, like, you know what I mean? Like, that's like, it's ironic me even. - Not really. - The rock sells here. - What? - Champion condition. - Well, what business do I have riding above? And you know what I mean? Like, that's, yeah. So it had to like, cause many tattoo clinic. Like, we were doing like, eyebrows, lips, all that. Like, again, I was just, I was trigger happy. - So your lips tattooed, are they? - Is this recording? (laughing) - I was like, "Bro, how good your head?" No, no, no, no. - No, no, no. - But that's what I mean. Like, I would have been better qualified to have one if they were. So like, no, they're not. And that's why the business didn't work. Like, it made me so, cause I had nothing about that. So like, I kinda wish they were. It would have helped me at the time, right? - I would have, I would have, I would have, - I would have, I would have, I would have, - You know what I mean? Like, yeah, exactly. Like, why should I listen to you regarding that business? Or like, why should I come to your business regarding that? I actually don't know. Like, you know what I mean? Like, there's no reason you need to go to me with that business compared to, and I wasn't doing the tattooing, I had stuff. But yeah, that was probably the most valuable lesson I learned. But I'm thankful for it, focus wise. But I'm thankful for it. Cause I thought I was the man, then everything went to shit. And that was that, like, for me, I feel like the reason I'm comfortable being the butt of all the jokes, like in the skits that I script, I make myself the joke. And if I was still, if I still thought I was the man, there's no way I'd be comfortable doing that. - No. - John, I mean, like half the time, like, bro, call me the silver surfer. It'll be funny. - You know what I mean? - But there's no way, 20 year old Chris, there's no way he would have been down for that. Like, - You gotta be open to humiliation, I feel. - Bro, yeah. 20 year old Chris would have bought, he would have, hosted a show, bought all the tickets himself just to tell people that we're so out. - You don't do anything like that. (laughing) - Yeah, there's no way I would have, I would have been comfortable with that. - Yeah, so tell us about Bipro, now that it's launched. - How long do we have? Just high level. - Yeah, yeah, in a nutshell, it was made to just simplify the journey to better health for people. So like what it does, it's made to be the easiest tracking out about there. And similar to just having someone with you all day that knows what they're talking about. Do you know what I mean? Like what inspired it? Anytime I'd eat out with a friend, they'd be like, bro, just get what you're getting, or like bro, order for me. And I'm like, I can build this. That's what inspired it. 'Cause that's, and I sort of just realized, okay, to really help people, it's gotta be easier to be mindful than to not be. And the way that you do that is you just remove all decisions. So it's take a photo of a menu, it'll analyze it, make a recommendation, or take a photo of your food, whatever it is you're eating. It's always gonna give tips and tricks, but it's automatically gonna track the calories. 'Cause like there's other apps out there that are great at what they do, but for a lot of people, they make you feel like unless you're perfect, it's not worth doing. And it's certainly not the case. Like what I'm trying to prove with a lot of my content. Like I've done full days of KFC, full days of Mackers, what I'm trying to prove is that the goalposts can be way, way wider, like, well, I'll weigh wider than a lot of people expect. And you don't need a checklist to 50 things to better your health. Like it can be as simple as just eating whatever, but not even too much or whatever, you know? And that's what my, that's what me staying in shape, that's what I'm hoping to prove by me staying in shape and just eating all the random stuff that I do. (laughing) That's my diet now. It's worse than it's ever been for educational purposes. Yeah, that's mad. But I'm not sad about it because I mean, like I just had KFC. (laughing) Yeah. I'm not gonna play it. I'm definitely not complaining like that. That's not like, oh, it's worse than it's ever been. No, no, no. It's worse than it's ever been. (laughing) Watch your favorite thing at KFC. Oh, that's far. That was a softball, ready to watch this back here. (laughing) Oh, the Big Bro combo all day. It's so good. I can't say anything else. I think you did it. I'm so proud. I'm so proud. You've got a menu option at KFC. I can't believe it, but it's not me. I'm just the messenger, bro. So like, it's Chris's Big Bro combo. It says my name on it, but the reason it is this is because the broad, like the broads of the ones that made this happen. Like, I'm just, again, I'm just a lucky one that KFC is in a reach out to, and I'm fortunate enough to have a platform that's allowed me to communicate with them and say, hey, this is what everyone would benefit from. But like, the reason it sort of came about is I would, like, content of mine that did pretty well and a lot of people found helpful, is I would go to really popular, like KFC McDonald's, all the popular takeout places and I would sort of order what someone else would get and then I would show what I would get as an alternative. And something that I would often recommend, just 'cause I loved them, was a Zinger no Mayo. And it started as like a bit of a joke, man. So like, what would happen is, is no matter what I would review. So I'd go and review like a milkshake on a side bowl or I'd go and review pancakes no matter what it was. And then I'd make a recommendation from that same place. Like, it had to be, you know, it was going to have breakfast, this is what I would have as an alternative to this. But all the boys and girls sometimes, but mostly bros, all the bros would come in every time. Nah, rather a Zinger no Mayo. (laughing) You know what I mean? As an alternative to everything, right? Like, I didn't even be revealing, like, protein-joking and protein bars, and they were like, no, what is the good about it? (laughing) So they became a joke. KFC saw how many people were sort of making reference to it. And they reached out and said, hey, would you like to create something? And I was like, the boys made this happen. It wasn't me, man. I think it was actually a comment. KFC commented on one of my, one of my posts. And then I might have applied like, we need like, when's a Zinger no Mayo getting added to the menu and the boys just got like, it got, that comment broke, I got like 15,000 likes. And they would have seen that. So it was the legends that made this happen, you know? That's cool. That's cool. That's so proud, bro. That's so proud. And that was for me, like, dad doesn't really get, like, I'm thankful to have the parents, I do the legends. And dad doesn't really get technology. Like he can't, it was, it was more, my coaching business was far bigger than my, my barbershop. But brick and mortar, he could sort of like conceptualize it. Like, as I would, I've got all these online clients and we talk and, you know, he doesn't really get that. But like, well, it's not tangible, I don't know. No, he's old school, bro. He's a landscape. Like, it's like, real old school. He doesn't even, he doesn't even have social media. That's dad's dad's right. But having a menu, like a menu on KFC, dad's like dad's like now, dad's like, "Tangehole." Yeah, yeah. Like my son's got a million, bro, that's, that makes my dad. You know what I mean? I love that. I love that. So how did the, how did the whole Krispy Kreme thing start? How did how did that start? Would you believe, bro, like I've never actually had any, no one's reached out from Krispy Kreme ever. Like I would have to be, I'm with a connection. (laughing) 100%. I'm dead set. Yeah, probably the number. This is my absolutely face. (laughing) I know we already have this. Actually, what, but continue in one sec. But what would you do at Krispy Kreme? If they could make like, protein holes. I'm not trying to reinvent this. (laughing) No, you know the little holes in the wheel. No, no, no. For me, they're, they're OG's amazing, right? My whole thing is like eat whatever, just not too much, whatever. All they, like for me, if they could make a lower calorie variation, but there's a lot more effort in that. Yeah. And like you mess with, like it's a great product already. Like it's delicious. I love them. It's delicious. Even just a smaller OG that's the small port, like that would, something that's 100 calories that's supposed to like 180. Yeah, gotcha. That's all that we're talking, Johnnie. You can still, for me, I'm quite happy, like me having half a Krispy Kreme, Krabing's cute, Johnnie. Yeah. But like you're not gonna buy a Krispy Kreme and have hot, like it's impossible to do. It's impossible to do. So like, that would benefit a lot of people. 'Cause they could still have their thing, their treat. And it's a lot easier to just not have more available than this to stop half one. Yeah. And it's also like more cost effective to buy the four pack than it is the buy one. So exactly 100%. So that's, that's what we're talking about. But have you seen those? But even the little ones come in a pack. You're gonna eat them all. Yeah, yeah. So like individually a smaller, but it comes in pack of six. Yeah. So like those six would have more calories than the one. So like that's what I would do. And that would be, I'd imagine probably easy for them as well. Just the same formula. It's amazing. Just if we could use a smaller, yeah. 100%. Like 70% of the size, that's all. And that 30% makes it makes a difference, you know? But the way that sort of came about is I started, I realized, like me saying this has a thousand calories, that's a thousand calories, doesn't mean much to most people. But I was like, okay, what's the unit of measurement that everyone would sort of understand? That would help with things in perspective. And that's when I was like, everyone knows what crispy cream. Like, who doesn't know what crispy cream is, you know what I mean? Like, and it just looked, I was like, this also has shock factor. Because me having like a zinger box or like a stack of burger combo, or like me having a meal from Hungry Jacks, big, big Mac me whatever. Stack next to eight doughnuts. It's gonna, people are gonna stop and laugh. But also like, it's gonna look visually. Well, that's, that's, they gotta look at it visually. You can, you see before you hear, like light travels faster than the center. So it's got to have that like, whoa, what's going on here? Yeah. And again, like that, I still say it now, I've been, I've been saying the same thing for a bit and I've been here with a half now. And I'm still not sick of it. I love it. Like I crack myself up. And like, nah, that's true. Yeah. And that's the whole like, oh, hang on a minute. Like, I get it. You know, it's just to help people sort of help conceptualize it. Yeah. Yeah. Because it's a shock factor. Like I said, you wouldn't, you wouldn't need six crispy creams. And even for dessert, you know what I mean? Bro, I went to, I got a meal from, because we don't have El Jhano on the goal coast. It's amazing. Oh, really? Oh, it's laughs. Like, do you like El Jhano? El Jhano's. This is better if you're in Sydney. Really? Yeah, wait a minute. I might try that tomorrow. Flappies. What's Flappies? No, it's not Flappies. You were actually the mentor. No, no. You were both so qualified. No, Franco is Franco. That was the fucking feature of it. You need to go to Sydney to try Franco's right. Is that what in Melbourne? No, it's Sydney. Yeah, because they always get asked, like, what was getting asked for a long time? El Jhano. And Franco, so that's the other one. Yeah. Because they're the ones that are sort of head to head in Sydney. Oh. But now, John Bigger, I think they were better originally. They're still, I haven't had it in a while, so I couldn't comment on how good they are now still. But I have heard that it's not as good as what it wants. But like I said, I haven't had it in a while. The whole people, Peter, and she could hold the concept to stick together. That should be better. I ordered a meal from them, like when I was in Sydney about a week ago, I did her, like, again, the same sort of thing, like, put things in perspective. Who ordered this? Who ordered this? What is that? But yeah, I ordered one of their meals. And some of these, the sources some of those meals come with, they alone have 800 calories, which is like four crispies, just the, just the source. Wow, really? So the bro, it is, and it's amazing, it tastes delicious. Yeah, yeah. But again, like, you've got that tub of sauce there. You're going to use the whole lot. 100%. But the meal I got had 18, it had like 3500 calories. It was 18 crispies worth of, you know what I mean? Like worth of calories. It's crazy. And you would have that meal. Yeah, I understand you would. It was a meal on the board. Like, it's a suggestion. Like, it was like a, it was a combo. It's cheap cause, like, it's more cost effective than ordering stuff individually. Separately. Like, yeah, yeah. Like, the fact that it's on the board, like, obviously, people order this. Yeah, wouldn't be on the board. I don't know what I mean. And it was what the last person got. And I was like, okay, like, this is that, that kind of content. When you've got a stack of donuts, 18 high, that's where people go, oh, that's right. That's a lot of stuff that goes nuts. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah. And now it's just become like, I get people, I'll be walking along the road and I'll get people yell out like, how many crews do you still look at? Yeah. But we, I've witnessed it with you on the goal course. Yeah, yeah. But even with just now when we were at KFC, sometimes before I ate something bad, and I'm like, how bad could it be? Very bad. The boy. Yeah, I'll tell him, I'm like, oh, shit. Wait, there's so many, like, I, I, I, I, living rent free in so many people's heads. Like, but that's like, it's become, it's so funny. Like the Krispy Kreme is, it's increased, become like a unit of measurement. Yeah. It's a year to say measurement. Yeah. And I'm glad I'm glad it's, it's helped people, you know? No, that's the, like, I was never being to tell, like, I eat whatever, I just don't eat too much, whatever. The goal's never been to encourage people to avoid anything. Cause like, bro, how like KFC delicious mac and stuff, it's all, it's all, it's all, it's all, it's all, it's all, it's all, it's all. I think it makes more sense what you said before though. You wouldn't have 18 crispy creams, but you're gonna have this meal. Yeah, exactly right. But then, and it's fine to have one crispy cream. And then you'll like that, you know that hot chick that squashes and all the way down and, with them all in the mail, no, I haven't seen those. Oh, no, no, no, no, no, no. No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, man. I've got safe search on it. But yeah, Mommy, if you're listening, haven't seen those, but you should do one of those videos where you start with air. That would be, or just get her, even if it like, yeah, that's in the US, this is related to collapse. It's all, that's all interesting. I told, but yeah, yeah, that's that's how it all came about, you know, and I've never had like, I'm not indoors by crispy cream, I'm not getting paid for this. It was, yeah, no, but not yet. Have you done the whole crisp crisp them up? Block on a pan? No, man, that's, I've seen the video. Yeah, okay, I'm just saying. Have you seen it? But yeah, I love, I love, oh, that's what I was gonna say. So yeah, you wouldn't have 18 crispy, without fail, bro. Every single video that I've ever done, comparing things to crispy cream, someone comments like, you're grossly underestimating my ability. Because you know what I mean? Bro, don't speak on my behalf. Like, without fail, They are the one donor that you can have multiple about someone's favorite. They're not in fluffy, that's what I mean. I started saying, you like initially, I was like, you wouldn't have. And then I actually changed, because everyone kept commenting that. So they're like, I was like, this will give everyone a laugh as well. Now I say, most would, you know what I mean? That's most of us wouldn't have, but I think crispy is for lunch. Because there's always someone that's like, nah, bro, I would. Or like, I'm built different, bro. I'd have both. You get a lot of my comments, depending on what I'm reviewing. You get tagged all the time. Tell him how many crispy's in these. I'm like, bag of rock. Because I'm not finishing the whole thing. I'm text testing, right? But they're like, Chris, tell him how many and I just laugh. I get tagged in in Russ's bro. And like, I'm getting tagged in all kinds of like, people just want me to be the annoying guy. Like, I was, and I'm bad. And I'll talk about calories and protein to anyone for any duration. But they want me to start. Start boards on each. They want me to. No, I love it. Yeah, but Russ cops it all the time as well. Yeah, yeah. Tell us how these, what are they called skits? Can we be out? Because you have collab with some massive. Bro. Great. First, the first one I ever did was with Chongying. He's become one of my closest friends. He's like legend, legend of the human. And extremely grateful to have him in my life. He's the top of guy. Like, he'll have you back no matter what. Yeah, he's the top of guy. We made him for the first time and we fell up when you were a few years. Yeah, exactly. It's a bit like you. Probably. He's got a really hard. No, he's way, he's way cooler than me. He's way cooler. You must have just caught me on a good day. No, but every time I've caught up with you, I feel like I've known you for years. Mate, we can, we've both got the gift of the gap. And like, you know, and like, it's same goes, bro. Like, I really enjoyed it. I appreciate you guys making time for me today. No, thanks for coming. This is like, are you the one who's not? No, I'm single, bro. Yeah. So you got nothing better to do. But you like it. And I appreciate you. I appreciate you making this. No, we might even get it after the year. Yeah. But I know. Yeah. You want to go watch those videos. He was talking. You got to keep it in. Maybe after. I told him. But no, I appreciate you guys making time. It's all but Chong, Chong, he, he was the first to really give me a shot. So when my stuff sort of sort of started going, getting some traction, he reached out into the, I've got an idea. And then from there, like, I loved it. I really enjoyed being a part of that. And he's someone I'd been watching content from for quite a while already. Like, I thought he was hilarious. And he was the first one I sort of actually did, like a collab with. And at the time, I think I had maybe 50K. And he had, you know, 180, 190K. Like, it was a much bigger fish. I was shot. I was star-struck shocked. All the things. Like, it was just crazy meeting someone up and consuming content from for years. And I thought it was the man. And he's the man. And then he gave me a crack. And then from there, like, I really enjoyed it. But he was like, "Oh, you're pretty good at this." Like, you actually, because if you're going to do it, you give it the order. So like, from the get-go, I was like, "Well, like, if I'm front of the camera, I'm gonna, I'm gonna, like, I'm not gonna half-ass this." I'm just gonna, like, I'm doing it anyway. Let's give it my best shot, right? So like, the fatials were all there from the get-go. And like, and yeah, it played on like the laugh and all the things. And it did really well. And then from there, we did a couple more. And again, like, it just snowballed. And that's, like, he, that was a stepping stone that I'm incredibly grateful for. Because as soon as I sort of, like, like, Dominoes, right? Like, as soon as you sort of, credibility with your association, like, it's reflected glory. Did that with Chongi? And that was a massive head start, because then people were like, "Okay, he's collaborative with Chongi. He must be the real deal." And that opened a lot of doors for me. And then it's kind of just like, now of, of sort of, I script a lot of them. And I, like, direct film, all the things. And I've sort of, like, been fortunate enough that a lot of them have been sort of well received. So I've sort of shown now that I can make, like, kind of know what I'm doing. I can make lighting strike twice in the same spot. So now, and then that's open. Like, I've done some, like, Angela Widers and Exit. Like that, that, that, that, we are. Oh, yeah. Who? I don't know. We need to be better. Okay. I don't know what you're prior to. But, but, yeah, big collapse like that. Once you sort of have been fortunate enough to collaborate with someone like that of that Calabar, then you don't really get many knows now. Like, yeah, really, really lucky, bro. Really, really lucky. You are like a cinematic genius now, feel. Oh, I know. I know. I'll see you direct. No, you're so good. Like, actually, I like, I'll give you guys an example. So I said to Chris, I'm going to meet with my mate, Steph, we're going to go to Wendy's. Let's hang out. He's like, let's make it a skiff. This guy would have had an idea straight. As he was driving me, he came up with it. He's gone behind the counter, wearing the old Wendy's get up. No, I'm seeing you in action. Even that, Chris be cream. I love it. You're really good at it. I really love it, man. Like, I crack myself up. Like half the views on my videos, they're just me watching it back. Like, I truly, truly love it. You know, and like for me, my perspective is like that's, I'll become like a bit of a meme. Like, everyone knows like a obsessive calorie guy that's annoying at. Yeah, yeah. But like, I feel like by leaning into that and making fun of myself and making fun of people like that, I've like, it's broken down. It's broken down some barriers. It's kind of what it's done. I could introduce Canon calories in a fun way to a lot of people that would otherwise be like, that's like, this is like intimidated by. Yeah, exactly. So, yeah. Look, these heist are co-drives. No, it is. I'm trying to make it less stigma to you. Yeah. Because you were to associate tracking calories and being obsessive. We just like, don't ever think it, guys. Yeah. Yeah. And also, I don't want to follow this bro because he's telling me what to do and blah blah. This is how you come across this genuine. Yeah, you like a walk and not these coaches that are like, comment, fucking, comment, diet for my, yeah, yeah, yeah. Yeah, I'm only taking on food. I'm like, strictly fine. It's just, yeah, yeah. Guys, five spots of book, you've got five more left. Come on, big thing. Yeah, yeah, yeah. The big thing that the change the game for me, content wise, and this is a vice I would give, like really anyone is it's a people like you said, people don't like being told what to do. So I went from like all I do is say, hey, this is what I do. Hopefully this helps you. If you want to do it, I don't, and that's why I put myself through the things as well. Like, hey, if I'm going to have KFC, like, I'll eat KFC for a day to show you the choices that I would make. And you find this helpful, amazing. But I'm not different from that. That's the difference in man and care. Do this, do that. Like, I'm not sitting there. Yeah, no, no, no. It's just like, 'cause you're showing people that you're doing it and it's real life results. And it's at a respect, you know what I mean? Like, there's so many, and the other thing I feel like with the fitness industry, it's a lot of people that they, like, they're accustomed to getting a lot of attention. They would have put themselves in a bit of a pedestal and want to be the man. And that's okay, but a lot of, there's a lot of people that have phenomenal physiques that very much, like, they play that cool guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Like that's, yeah. John the man, it's kind of like, but that's also intimidating to someone to follow you. I'd be like, it's a bit intimidating, you know what I mean? Yeah. That's what I was trying to sort of get away from that. Like, for me, I'm not trying to be the man. I'm trying to be, like, I'm trying to be as relatable as possible or even like, oh man, like this. I'm just taking things seriously. He's seen, like, again, like if he can, he can still have fun. Yeah. Yeah. If he can eat kale, see your day and stay in shape, I'd be like, I could do this. John, I mean, like, I'm trying to make it seem as it, like, getting in shape, staying healthy, as attainable as possible, you know? And I just feel like, again, like that, that by me, by me making a fool of myself and being the butt of the jokes and being the obsessive-category guy, it's kind of like, okay, hang on a minute. Like, not everyone that does track the calories is super serious. And it, like, you don't have to take this seriously. Yeah. You know, like, you can have fun with it and you can, you can be like, go bad in a lot harder way. Now, but I feel like you educate people and make them laugh, which is kind of hard to do. Yeah. Right. Because some people really make, want to be really serious about it. Of course. So that's why I think people really love watching your shit. Man, well, the, the series, like, there's a time, like, the people that crack content that is very serious, like, again, that's, like, I love that as well and that definitely has a place and it's helping people. I'm all for whatever's going to, whatever's going to help the most people. Like, that's what I'm all for. Like, whatever, whatever floats your boat, but I feel like, like, it's just my perspective. But as soon as you start talking about micronutrients and blood tests, and again, that's not to say that those things aren't worth considering. Yeah. But to someone that square one that's struggled with their way their whole life, or it just doesn't even know where to start, when you're rattling off a ton of different things and it feels like you've got a checklist of 50 things to do before it's even worth your time. I feel like, you know what, this is just unattainable. I can't, I can't do it. Whereas if you've got this other guy, like, you got this guy, like, this guy fucking laughing in my face. Yeah, this guy's making a fool of himself and then, like, seems, seems like, like, he doesn't take life too seriously, but he's sealing pretty good shape and he's, it, like, seems like it's really simple with whatever approach he sort of, he's, he's living by. Okay, I feel like I could give this a crack and that's what I'm trying to do, you know, lower the battery to entry. Yeah, 100%. Well, the perceived battery to entry, you know, that's that's all because I know, like, fitness changed my life, bro. And like, I know, I know how much better off I was for, for tracking my calories and then, you know, getting into fitness, spending more time in the gym, like, gaining muscle or all the things like no one's, no one's ever, I've never once turned around to anyone and said, you know what, I really regret losing all this fat and gaining all this muscle. Never once have I said that. And that was no one else's. You know, one of my mates that's in great shape or even someone that's on the way to getting in good shape has ever turned around to Chris man, like, you got me started, but I absolutely were, I wish he didn't. I regret I'm so much worse off now that I've leaner and I'm more muscular. Yeah. You know, man, my, my girlfriend's so upset with you, Chris now that I'm leaner and done the good. It doesn't happen. It doesn't happen. No, you had at least. No, no, no, yeah. So what do you do for fun? Like you love traveling a lot and all that. I made my, my day, I'm grateful as can be bro. Like my, my day, like, we just filmed a skit case. So for work today, this is what I did, this is what I did for work today. Yeah. Like, we, I've spent today filming funny videos with great people that I'm thankful. Like, I've met some incredible humans that are hilarious because of, because of content, right? Like, I'm, I'm here now because we all create, we all, we're all here now because we create content that we're lucky enough that people sort of enjoy. Yeah. Or at least I think they enjoy it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. So sometimes it's enjoyed. You know, when you've got more shares than likes that you can cool. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Like my day today, I spent the day filming, like going to different, different gyms in a, in a different state to the state I normally live in. Yeah. Reviewing gyms, meeting cool people, talking about protein and calories. I just had KFC. We filmed a funny skit at KFC. We're having this conversation now. How is this like bro? I'm, I'm not like, for me, it's, it's, I am so grateful. And it's perspective, I'm not pushing them all in the sun. Like my, for me, like, there are days that I might, might not be as excited to film content. Or I'm tired. Or I've been traveling a lot whatever. And like my dad's a landscaper, bro. So he's like, he's, he's the reason partly the reason I have the opportunity to do it. Like he made sacrifices. He's like, yeah, go to different schools and all that kind of jazz bro. And and like he would probably give anything to have one of one of my bad days given what I do for work. 100%. And what he, like he's 65 and he's still pushing them all on. Like that. So for me, it's, it's very hard. Like you're not going to catch me. Man, like this is, this is, this is tough. This is like, not, not going to happen because of, of again, like the perspective I'm lucky enough to have. Yeah. I'm a person. Yeah. I like. So for fun, bro, like, I love what I do. Like I, I truly love what I do. I love making the videos, bro. That's what I do for fun. And then just I'm so grateful that it's, it's transpired into into what it has, you know? Yeah. Like the difference is, I've been talking to people that protein in calories since I was 15. Like I've been that annoying guy in the gym since I was 15. The difference is now there's a camera rolling. We're going to be like, that's, that's your new difference. Well, but you got less hair. But you've like evolved into not just talking about the, like I said, the boring bits. It's now it's fun, right? So I'll be that one for the, like, yeah, I've been having fun the entire time to be honest, but now, yeah, it's just crazy that that, and I've got a really good team supporting me as well. So like the team that's behind, bite, bro, Jordan, Jordan, especially like they're the pilots, bro, they're the brains of the operation. They keep the playing the air at this point. I'm just like in flight entertainment. So my job is just, that's what I am. Like that's, that's, yeah, it'd be, if there's smoke coming under the door, I see the smoke. Yeah, it's not my problem. Anyway, it's like, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, I love it. I love it. Dubs, you know what I find funny? What? People stop us on the street all the time, all the time, specifically because no one can misstose curls. But I find it interesting that they don't always follow us. They know who we are. True. And you press them a lot. You're looking at your following. Yeah, show me your phone. Are you following? I thought you'd take a photo. Remember the other time. So guys, make sure you're following @dubseverything, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook and NectoriousPuppey, TikTok, Instagram and Facebook. And don't forget to follow the Food Guys podcast, @TheFoodGuysPod. Obviously, Instagram, TikTok. We'll see you there. Yeah. So where's your, you've been traveling a bit the last one six months or so? Tons, bro. Yeah. Where's been your favorite place, favorite food? Mate, I've probably spent three months overseas so far this year. Did you do Japan over a year or so? I did four, five weeks in Japan. I've done total like four weeks in Bali. I've done two weeks in Singapore. I've done two weeks, almost three weeks in Vietnam. I've been here lucky enough to be here there and everywhere, bro. And like, I love Japan. Was it amazing? Yeah. Have you been to Japan? No, I haven't. Oh my god. It's so good. You need to go. But in the foods incredible. That's my favorite cuisine in Japan. Yeah. So you love SWAT. What's your favorite Japanese dish? Oh, I love sashimi, bro. I love sashimi. I love sushi. Yeah. It's even like katsu balls, bro. Yeah. It's all good. I don't, I don't, I don't, don't make it into bad. It's all good. Like you put it in front of me. I'm gonna eat it. I told you, like in Japan, I swear you don't have a bad meal. Like everything's, yeah. Like and it's just so clean, bro. And so organized. Never mind. So polite. Oh man, I loved it. Even the gyms over there, like little very different to here. Like for me, I traveling and then training in different gyms with friends, bro and meeting you people. Like that's what I do for fun. So like, that's like that's what I do for fun, bro. Like and in Japan, the gyms, they're a little bit not behind, but like they're a lot of the gyms haven't really been like a lot of them. They're not on the whole. We knew you equipment always. They haven't been refurbishing like 20 years. And I think that's cool because I look at that and I'm like, there's, there's like this character there, right? It's an nostalgic, like this old bodybuilding photos. And I'm like, man, and I can tell these equipment has been like, I don't know who's sat on this. Yeah. But this, this machine's had it stayed. This is held together with zip ties and duct tape. Like, I love it because like this has got history to it. So I, I love that. But yeah, Japan, Japan would have to be the favorite. I've been to Singapore before recent, like going back recently. I love Singapore's amazing. Again, it's like so clean. Two weeks too long though. Singapore, you can do it in a week and a week is comfortable. It's not a big place. No, it's not a big place. But for me, I was sort of, like again, grateful that the traveling for me, like I work and I get to work while I'm trying to. You can work, I was there to work. Like, I was there to film YouTube videos and in review. So like, I was in a different gym every day. Like, I was, that's cool. I was moving. I was filming skits, zoos, I was doing, skits in the aquariums. Where's your universal studio? I was like, I was at a great time. to reach out to other creators in these countries. - If I can, so that's moving forward, like if the goal is to, 'cause again, infinite entertainment, my job's just to keep the bombs in the seats and entertain. I'll travel based on, like it will start with, it'll start with who can I collaborate with, and then I'll reverse engineer everything from there. So like I love the traveling, and I love creating content overseas, 'cause it keeps things interesting for me. - Yeah, 100%. - When I'm at home, no one wants to watch me eat chicken and rice or that. - You don't realize that's like, no one wants to get into that. - And by me doing that, like left to my own devices, that's what I was doing for like a decade before the camera was rolling, but like that doesn't actually really help people and educate them. Like in the way that I wanna educate, it doesn't make getting fit and staying, maintaining a healthy weight, and then controlling your calories. It doesn't make it seem easy and as easy and as accessible as it could potentially be. 'Cause people see that and they think restriction, they think like, you look at that and you go, that dude looks miserable, that meal looks crap. I don't wanna do that. And like, so that's why I again, like really make an effort to travel and eat really different foods to demonstrate, like regardless to what you eat, what you eat impacts how you feel, how much you eat really, how much you burn the tip, what impacts what you weight though. So like, oh, he's eating Neem you now. Oh, did he just eat snake? Oh no, you know what I mean? Now he's eating fried chicken from like, is that a part? I didn't even know what that was called. That's the weirdest like on the road set up ever seen. Like he's definitely getting sick from that. Yeah, but like that's, you know what I mean? But by doing that, I'm really trying to demonstrate, hey man, like it doesn't have to be serious, not everything has to be weighed to the gram. This, like this kitchen set up, it's definitely not overhatching us approach. Like that's not really like that. It's weird. No, I got really sick in Vietnam. I do. I do. How long for? Five days I couldn't get it. What did you eat like me on the street as I'm? I did. It was a YouTube video. It was for a YouTube video. So I did like a street food tour and I went to all the crazy markets, bro. Yeah, man. And some of them like some of the markets in Vietnam, you've got like, and like meats, whatever meats they work. Yeah, whatever. It's somewhat hard to deter, like I was looking at it like, I don't know what you're doing. What is that? (laughing) For real? But like it's 40 degrees and these are just like, peace organs and pieces of whatever on just concrete. Like, in food, no refrigerator, like it's not refrigerated, no like that. So like, yeah, I wasn't shocked that I got sick, but I was, yeah, really, really, without getting to graphic man, like I didn't have the greatest control over my bowels for like five or like five, but like, it was great. It was rough, man. Wow. I took some tablets that stopped like, yeah, reduced the rate that I needed to go to the bathroom. And which did the opposite of what I was hoping it would, because it ended up like, back of the back to you here. I couldn't get rid of the back to you. And I got like, yeah, it ended up really sick. Like, you know when you go to like the pharmacy or the doctor and you explain your symptoms and they're like, they were like, are you serious? Like that was the reaction of the door to you. Oh no. I'm cool. Doc, could you please just like, fix me. Well, there was that, but I was like, Doc, that's not reassuring. Like, yeah, yeah. I assumed it was pretty bad, Doc, but like, you need a needle or something. Oh, yeah, well, I sort of said, oh yeah, doc, there's quite a bit of blood. And he was like, it's blood. And I was like, oh no. God. Yeah, we're not getting too grabbing that all. But yeah, five days I was bed ridden, right? Couldn't get it. It's cool. Tell us about YouTube. So has he started? So I've so far posted to. Okay. I've got, I've now got nine, like I've now fortunate enough to have found the hardest part, the right people, bro. Yeah. And it ended, like, good editors are hard to find. It's like a fine thing. Yeah. It's really thankful. Because they've got to get your sense of humor. Yeah. You know what I'm like? Yeah. Like, we find each other funny. Then they're not going to incorporate the parts that they're going to get rid of that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. And it's, that's the biggest baritone with YouTube for me. Yeah. It's hard. You know, like, it's, like, you might be thinking, man, it'd be hard for you not to be funny. No, something edited is still a really good job. Yeah. A boring one. A boring one. A boring one. He's everything right there. You've changed the comedy to drama. Yeah. Let's make sure. No, wait. Yeah. What's going on? Like, why is that bald buff man? He's fucking random. Oh, shit. Like, why? Yeah. Yeah. So, so I've now got a really good editor. So I've, I've seen that, that recent trip I filmed eight YouTube videos. This will be like my trip to, to Melbourne, my trip to Sydney. That'll be YouTube video as well. So my goal is, is to a week moving forward. Yes. He's already finished one. We're going to, like, pretty much as of this week, to a week moving forward is, is the whole thing. Based on the, you know, the calorie count and stuff or is it more like farm or? That's going to be, like, that's going to be, that's going to be in there. But like, as an example, one of the video, like, travel to Singapore, review all the gyms in Singapore. And like, there's, there's, like, the way that we're here with, like, yeah, reviewing the top gyms in Singapore, we did the same thing here, reviewing the top gyms. And what I'm doing, every gym that I go and review, I'm bringing in another content creator that's, like, that I click really well with. And it makes it interesting, more humorous, all the things I'll put the, like, donut daddy, put them through a workout, vlog them. And additionally, like, they've got their own things to add and it makes it more enjoyable for you. You know, but like, a lot of the content is just looking at different situations through, like a bro lens. So like, another one was in Bali. Everyone goes to like beach clubs and in most people are, what they care about, not everyone, but most people are just like, okay, what's the, like, is the music good? Is like, are there tons of shakes? Like, what do you mean? I haven't seen any content regarding how bro friendly the menus are. So I'm going to be, like, with this car, so I'm going to take a handbar and pretend I'm saying it's content, I'd be interested in it. Like, if I'm interested in it, surely there's some other bro's to be interested in. I went to all of the most popular beach clubs in Bali and I've got bro, I've got like videos of tons, like, it fins, fins is hectic if you've ever been to fins. There's heaps going on, like, strobe lines, fires, like, there's, it's, it's, it's so much going on and you've got all these stuff going on the background and here I am like, all right, so I'm looking at it. So I literally went to all the beach clubs and I was like, okay, if I was at these beach clubs, this is what I would get. Like, I help bro friendly these menus and that's, that's what I did. Like, like a bro's guide to the beach club. If you were going to go and have a good time, but you also want to go to the counter. Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. So your YouTube content, are you going to have like shorter versions for your Instagram? So a lot of the stuff that I've been posting, like, that I was posting while I was overseas, like the DJI, I'm filming long form. Just, just, just, coincidentally, like, whilst I'm filming, I'll be like, oh, hang on, I mean, I can cut that up into it. Like, because I'm talking through menus, I'm talking through, like, it's just what I've realized is seemingly helpful and doesn't come across as condescending. It's just when I'm making decisions about food or decisions about exercise or anything health-related. I mean, just talking through what I'm thinking at the time and how I'm, how I'm making that decision, that seems to be helpful. How, because I'm leveraging 15 years of worth of experience, but I'm just fortunate that, like, grateful that I've sort of had the advice I have and sort of had the same conversation more times than those people have. So I'm able to put it in a really simple succinct way. Yeah. You know, so like, there's a fair bit going through my mind, thinking about, again, all the lessons I've learned over the space of 15 years, but I'm like, I know how I can make this into a 30-second clip that no, hopefully no one really struggles to sort of understand. Yeah, that's cool. You know? It's makes it easy for people. Yeah, yeah, and it's fun. I love it, but that's why I've got the DJI wherever I put it. That's with me all day, every day now, for that reason. I'll talk through every, like, every meal for me now, every meal, every time I'm a cold, every time I'm at all worse, is an opportunity to educate. Yeah. That's good. You know? So that's, yeah. So, like, yeah, all the YouTube stuff is going to be, it's all going to be like 30, 40 minutes, and the reason I'm sort of leaning into that as well, is just, if for those that, all my short form is very comedic, very short, it's just a greater opportunity to educate. Yeah, man. You know, same as, like, a podcast. Yeah, yeah. I'm sure there's a lot of people that have tuned in and heard you guys talk and go on, "Oh, so they can't talk about more things than just food." That's right. That's right. That's what we're about for you. Yeah. Oh, right. So they do things under the review. Yeah. Whoever listens, they get a different side to us on the podcast. Definitely. 100%. We're not going to see the yapping on a 30 second clip. Exactly. Exactly. Like, it's just, it's just giving people a better opportunity to get to know you. And I think the more, like, AI and AI's leverage to create content, the more people are truly going to want to know who they're supporting and what the person's like, sort of behind the scenes. And that's kind of what this is. Like, we've got the, this is behind the curtain. Like, we're seeing in front of curtains. But like, this is, yeah, exactly. Exactly. You know, because it's hard to act during, like, an honest answer requires no preparation. So it's, bro, it's hard to put on an act for 30, or an hour, bro. It's hard to talk for an hour. Yeah. And not being genuine, man. Because we want to do some, bro, it's exhausting as well. Yeah. You know, like, I'm keen to watch your YouTube zone. Bro, I just talked about my bell movements, man. Like, if I was sitting here, she ought to be like that. Don't tell me you filmed the toilet bowl. Oh, no, no, no, no. No, no. No, but it was, yeah, I wouldn't wish that upon my worst end. It's like that. And it's always scarier being sick overseas. Oh, yeah. Then you reckon? No, I was not how I was hoping it would end. Yeah. That's what I was doing. It was, it was stages I was genuinely, genuinely worried. Like, I mean, that's sick. I don't think I've ever been that sicked. Yeah, I lost probably in the space of five days. I probably lost six, seven kilos. Because I would have eaten 2,000 calories over like five or six days. Wow. Because it was just, it couldn't eat. Yeah. I just had no appetite for tears. I was trying to force it, but yeah. Yeah. It was just going straight to it. It's crazy. Yeah, it's been, yeah, I hope. It's been quite a while since I've sort of, like, I've been sick. like soiled the bed and like it's just as unpleasant as our men, but like it's not. (laughing) - Yeah, it's, yeah, it's, it's, it's, - Could have worn, I don't nappies. - I couldn't find any in Vietnam. - Yeah, that's right. - That's probably worse. - That would be worse. - You'll get rashes after when you're nasty. - Nah, 'cause he's, I, I, it wouldn't be worse. And I get, I'm speaking from experience now. So like, I'm, you know, - Well, I guess the nappy would soak it up, right? - What do you do? - Once you, once you, the sheets are dirty, what do you do? - You can't get, yeah. - You're gonna hurt time. - So you can't get, yeah, me. - So like, I think the bed was a, was a queen, you know, it might have been been a king, but you've only got like, how many times can you roll over? Try to make it, I can tell you, it's about four times worse. You've got four chances. Where you going up there? - You were in the back. (laughing) - You might just say, "Din' a shower." - No, that's, yeah, bro. It was, it was, it was, it was, - Yeah, that's crazy. - Yeah, that's the, that's how I see goals. I was scared to go to bed, and then I didn't pack enough underwear. That was, that was the best. - Yeah, yeah. - I wasn't the best, bro. It wasn't the best. - Now when they travel, the infusion when I travel to Bali, you'll be in a moment, I'll be packing. - 100 pounds. - Oh, it's packing in a short time. - Yeah, always, yeah. - My whole seven kilo of, of carry on is just underwear. (laughing) - Yeah. - So out of all the places you've been to in the last six months traveled around. - Japan. - Japan, food. - 100 pounds, yeah. - Yeah, incredible. - There's so many, like you would know as well. There's so many viral foods. - Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Crazy. - But just like the rainbow, the rainbow cheese bread. - I haven't had that one. No, no, no, no, yeah. - Of things that, like you look at that, you're like, that that's just cheese and food coloring. - You look like that, too. - Yeah, because the cheese is just colorful, man. - Yeah, let me spot that, it's just cheese and food coloring. I'm looking at that like, - It doesn't alter the taste. - This might be the least nutritious meal of the day. - It doesn't mean to look visually nice on camera. - It looks like the cheese pool. It's a rainbow, man. That's the stuff dreams it made of. (laughing) - You know what, they send me food festival. - Yeah. - You know the food trucks that they do, actually, yeah. - And they pay the rainbow tax on those, but was you ever mean like, but I think I paid, it was literally two slices of bread, cheese with food coloring. I think I paid 12 bucks. - You look like that boy. - Did you try the coin one? - Delicious, but I was good. - That one was good, yeah. - Did you try those as well? - No, I haven't had that one. I haven't been since that's gone viral, sir. - Oh, bro, you know what I'm saying? - What did you try when you went there? - I went in 2019, man. It's been a while. - What was there then? - I just had a little start. - I even wrote a preaching, that's why I probably knew him. - No, but yeah, it was before, yeah. - No, there was all of it probably. There was all of it. Those coins are delicious. - Yeah, you did that. - It's worth it, 100%. I'm down, when you guys go home, down. - Oh, let's start. - Let's start from the up, up, down. - You're gonna need someone to count the calories. - I know a guy. - No, no, no, no. - No, I've got a bike bread, I need you there. - I need to start using the bike bread. - I just need that, yeah, yeah, yeah. - I'll sort that invoice out of it. (laughing) - I'm always gonna ask you, so what's been your worst? Obviously, the experiencing Vietnam, but what about the country and the food itself? - It's the worst experience. - Well, we know the experience. - Where's been the place you've been, like haven't found, like, pro, like, you know, - Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm, yeah, I'm places to be honest, like places like Barley and Vietnam, after that experience, a little more weary than I've ever been. - Well, protein, you're gonna put in your mouth, right? - It's just, 'cause I was, aside from that, that food tool, I was being really, really precautioned. But every time I've been to Barley, I have had Barley belly without fail. I've been there three times now and without fail, I've had it. And that's me trying to be precautioned. So, like, I have bills to pay and to pay those bills, I need to keep making videos, and it's very, and I need to keep making videos and I need to stay in shape. (laughing) It's very, if I'm bad, I'm wrong, it's quite hard to do. - It's a little bit more. - Even though economically, it's very cheap, and it's mega cost effective, as far as holidays go. If I can't make the content, it's kind of like, - You can't point the saying. - Exactly, so I wouldn't say, like I'm still grateful to have gone on. I still very much enjoy the experience. And Jordan, the guy behind Barbara, the pilot, he lives in Barley. So, like, I will be going back regularly to catch up with him 'cause he's one of my best friends, and that's where he's at. But, yeah, it's not like Japan. I'd go to Japan and Singapore 10 times over. - Yeah. Like, I especially got those places. Especially, what Barley and Vietnam don't have, and I'm a sucker for sugar-free energy drinks. Like, I've had like five today. You see, that's not a recommendation by the way. (laughing) - It's just two max on the-- - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I must have missed that part. - Watch your favorite energy drink. - Oh, I don't just criminal approach. So, just today, I've had, I've had odds and odds. - Yeah, at all, positive rates. - I've had odds and odds. - Yeah, exactly, exactly. I'll be there. - Every color. - I would, I would, like, I love that a friend of mine, Jaden, has a, has a not, like, if it's available, I'm grabbing his. He's always supporting him all day. He's a legend of his human, but I like, I'll actually say it's probably, I like the taste. Like, for me, to really, like, which do I like the taste of the most? - Yeah, yeah. - That I drink them to some, like caffeine to do zapatite, and like, this sweet. So, like, it curbs cravings curbs at times. - It does both, right? - And because they carbonate, that's why I drink it. I drink it to make it easier to eat in the appropriate amount of calories that a day. Like, I just, I just, that's it. Curves my cravings. I enjoy the taste. Helps me drink more water as well, you know? So that's what I'm bringing it for. So, like, oh, I love ghosts have a sour watermelon. Have you tried that? - No, I've had that one. - All right. Okay, that's way up the phone as well. I love that one. But again, like, they're all pretty good. - White monsters good. - Oh, that's the other thing. - And I've seen that's the other thing. - I love to sugar free red balls. - I love creed too. (laughs) Like, that's what you know, I was so sure at White Monster with creed, like, holy hell, you better be a. (laughs) - I love, I love, I love White Monsters of the OG. I think, who was telling me? I think Vee is still the top set. It's still the big dog, right? I don't drink Vee. - Vee or red ball? - I would be like Vee still one of the. - He's not? - The legacy guys. I think they do more numbers than anyone else. I know Oxytread's popping off at them. - Yeah, yeah. - But I think Vee are actually, like, as far as numbers go. - Oh, in Australia, you mean? I think globally, I don't know. Someone's always telling me, I think it was the guy that said, like, one of the scouts in September 11, that was like Vee is still the legacy. 'Cause they were the first to do it. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I think so, right? - I think Vee was the first energy drink. - I'm obviously, for me, I'm surrounded by people in fitness. And Oxytread is a brand now that's very prominent in fitness, but like, those, I don't know the exact numbers, but I imagine how many people go to the gym, probably 10% of people, 15% of people. So, there's probably more tradies than there are people that go gym. And tradies, I don't see many tradies drinking Oxytread. - They drink it, they drink it, Vee's the most. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - Again, nothing wrong with that, but that's, I think they are the big dogs. - Yeah. - I think Vee's the big dogs. - Do you have, which of your favorites? You got a favorite? - What, what monster for sure? - Oh yeah, yeah. - The Oxytreads are good too, as well, yeah. - They taste me. - But I like trying all the new monsters. I like the monsters, yeah. - I don't discriminate, bro. - Yeah, if it's color, if it's a good flavor, I'll try. - It's something, I'm a sucker for, like, they were like, sour strap. They're getting real creative, bro. - Yeah, I know, yeah. - There was a C4, Luke reported for me. There was a C4 that was serial. It was a cool, the flavor was called serial killer. - Oh, yes, I've seen that. - It was delicious, bro. - It tasted like fruit loops. - That's bad. - I've been trying it. - Yeah, that's it. - That's it. - So that's a good name, I'm a sucker. Like, if the can looks cool, and it's got a cool name, bro, I'm buying that for sure. And I feel like the guys behind monster now that are, like, I don't know if you feel the same, but that like, serial killer, I kinda know what to expect. This is meant to taste like serial. - Serial, yeah, yeah. - Like, the guys that are now, whoever's behind the monsters, like, behind naming the monsters, must have been the same guys that were making Pokemon games. 'Cause like, - Yeah, so like, some of like Ruby fantasy. - Yeah, what is this? - I'm like, what flavor is Ruby fantasy? - Yeah, I'm buying it, 'cause I wanna find out. - But what is that, do you know what I mean? - Yeah. - Not like, yeah, I'm a crazy, like, crazy name, bro. - Yeah. - Like ultra-hawaiian, it's like, "Well, Hawaiian sort of gives it away a little bit, but-- - Being for red, what flavor is this? - Yeah, for red. - That sounds bad, I'm buying it. - Yeah, that's like the thing, people are guessing the flavor. - Yeah, it reminds me of Pokemon games. - Yeah, you're right. - And ultra-violet, what flavor is ultra-violet, bro? (laughing) - I don't know, bro. - I can't even describe, like, I've had, I've had 10 of them. I still can't describe ultra-violet. - Describe the food, bro. - You know what I mean, bro? - Yeah, legit. I'd like, yeah, yeah, go my attention, but that's like Pokemon games back when I was playing them. Like, Ruby Red, Sapphire. - You're right, you're right. - You're the same stuff, so that works out the name. (laughing) Do you ever have like a, like, cheat meals or not? - I eat whatever, whenever. - Yeah, so for me, like, that's kind of what I'm hoping to help people better understand. - You're getting really the whole thing. - We like content to eat. - All for me, putting food on a pedestal and telling myself, I can't have this until X, Y, Z. I take these boxes. Only makes you want it more, man. I don't know about you, but like, - Oh yeah, you can't have that. I'm like, yeah, I'll do it. - Yeah, I'll do it. - That's what you want it more, you know what I mean? So like, by eating it for me, I would say 30% of my diet is pretty, like by most people's standards, non-nutritionous. And I've just learned, like, for me, everything falls down to you, what's gonna make it easier for me to consistently eat an appropriate number of calories? And I've just found that when I incorporate foods that are non-nutritionous that I love the taste of, it gets easier for me, like, overall, I'm more consistently eating an appropriate number of calories 'cause I reduced the risk of like a binge. - Yes, just true. - Just to make it easier. - Like, oh, without it, it's just a matter of time before I'm like, man, I could go for a zinger. - Yeah. - And like, if I haven't had a zinger for six months, I'm not just having one zinger. - Yeah. - I'm having all of those in there. How many of you go back there? Like, what's up, do you close? I'm having all of those foods. - I'm having exactly all of that. - Well, tell us about the dude you met earlier. He lost 20 kilos eating zingers every day. - Like, big bro combo. - Big bro combo. - Yeah, so we were just a KFC film this year. We met, why do you guys made a KFC before the podcast at the Curiosity? - Oh, we're gonna KFC or Mac or something. - I love that, yeah, I love that. - Just like, yeah, I was like, having a little meal. - I love it, no, I love it. Yeah, just met one of the staff here. Absolute, absolute legends. He had bought, right? He was. waited patiently for us to finish what we were doing like absolute legend I spent about 20 minutes talking to him and it's he's to thank the reason I'm it's what is it like eight o'clock at night 8389 yeah the reason I'm in the mood now that I am and I'm buzzing is because I spent 20 minutes talking to him about his journey Yeah, and he's bro He's down 20 kilo working the code and he was like bro I was I was I got this job I gained like he gained he was I think he said he was a hundred and about 110 because he's around 90 now And he was like I gained all this weight. I was having zinger zinger box every day He knows the proper one looks okay He knows the issue, but he was yeah again. He's like bro. I'm feeling so much better like again Like I'm healthy. I've got more energy and I've literally been eating like your content help me understand like it may think so easy Me to understand why You know why I was I was getting the weight that I was but additionally How simple it could be for me to for me to lose that weight like it really just falls down to eating whatever like it can be as simple as doesn't have to be But it can be as simple as whether it's kc whether it's just nothing but Pavlova You want you want me? You want to feel great? It'll be fun for about two days and you'd be like man. I'm sick of leaving the bathroom red in the face But you can do that and and for him he eat like it was it was just that's why that's honestly why I do what I do like Conversations like that light me up like a Christmas tree because like again He didn't turn around and say Chris. I hate it I'm so regretful that I stumbled across your content because I'm now 20 kilo lighter and my I am so much worse off He do that's not what he said he was and you'll want me now We didn't yeah, oh, I I Preface before we started talking to say hey bro before we before we really get into this conversation I get a real narrow field of expertise like relationship advice financial advice I'm not the guy, but if your keen to talk calories, bro, I'm like let's pull up a chair. Let's go Tell me your manager take your break now, bro But yeah, let me out like Christmas. Oh, bro like he's is it was just I Love hearing about people's journeys and now like now what what's happening quite a bit as well when someone comes to talk to me Quite often they'll pull up like transformation photos. Yeah, like there was a guy met the other day He's named was Carthand and I've got a I remember his name because it was just such a cool story He's down 80 kilograms. Wow down 18 kilo. How much did he weigh? I think you said he was around like a hundred and seventy Because it was a bit still like he was about 90 kilos still like a fixed that guy had all the lots Yeah, but he he was 30 and like a hundred and seventy each and he was he's got kids and he just got to the point He was like man like unless I do something I might not be around to see Yeah, I want I want to be able to for one I want to set a good example for my kids But additionally like I don't feel good like I know I know unless I do something about this Yeah, you know, I might I might God forbid But I might that's I might not you to see them sort of grow up You know, I mean like he came to that realization. I love that and he was saying like I have the big pro combo Like we had a really good conversation like he's he's now what he's most excited to do Oh, and now what he's most thankful for and excited to do is be able to save his kids from making the mistakes that he did Oh, no, no, no, no mistakes. He's he's able to help his children understand from the get-go Hey like maintaining a healthy way you were so much better off because of that because of that but you're gonna feel Yeah, again like just from a health like a health standpoint, you know, and and he's able to to pass on those lessons He's and he's pumped that you could tell he's pumped to do it as well, which buys me a brum. Yeah, it's just cool I just had an idea for you You know when you meet all these people film it that could be good content. All that's Yeah, I do a lot. Well, that's that's for me For permission and be like do you mind if we film a combo? Bro, honestly what are most like that's I talked about live streaming like that's what that's the next step for me streaming And that's that's mainly why because it's like I I will talk about protein and calories and someone's journey I can invite him until the live stream right until the kids it's more just like Catching those moments because there's so much like even even if it's not me delivering value Someone talking about how far they've come that's gonna inspire others up It's just so many so many quite often bro during those those exchanges. It's whether it's it's gonna be something that someone All the takes is for someone to watch a clip like that and go you know what if Carfner can lose 80 I can lose 10 and if he said like and it's it's it's Him him saying This is easy. This is all I did is also different to me saying it John me because people look at me and they go oh no like he's He's got a business in fitness. He's just trying to make it seem easy. So I buy his program or I subscribe to the apple whatever John I mean like that yeah, hopefully not the case, but it's it is just there's Carfner has got no someone like Carfner in that exchange in that moment has nothing to gain by Someone else tuning in and watching that. Yeah, that's where like that's that might be all that takes for someone to go You know what this okay cool? I'm gonna give this a go. Yeah, and that's what I want to capture and that's what I want to share Yeah, that's cool, you know, and I like for me as well as I'm getting busier I I was still like I was late to like and I apologize for it I was late to this podcast because I got I got chatting at KFC But like I that that he's named started with I think it was like Rubin or something like that like I've got I literally gave my number Like I said yeah, yeah, you can't act like you're alleged. Yeah, that's cool. Like anything you need send me a message, you know, but like I can't not give someone like that the time of day No, I mean like it just and I love it like I just sure as a genuine otherwise if you met people in blue muff The content wouldn't mean the same. I couldn't do it Yeah, because I for me like again, I know the difference fitness that on my life and for me like the flow and effect So I know that him having now I really do believe if you could let someone you could bottle it up and let someone experience Ahead of time hey, this is how you're gonna feel and this is this is what life could be like if you do take a little bit Betty Care yourself. I'm certain no one would ever not start Yeah, I'm certain you know me but the hardest part is bro. It's it's The perceived amount of effort required to get in shape. It's for a lot of people. It's way up here Yeah, I'm trying to help understand like again like there are people that that have checklist of 50 things and that's okay Because they they obviously consider all the stuff they're doing worth it like the juices worth the squeeze Yeah, but it doesn't have to be complicated and you can just start at square one John I mean like you want to might you want to run a marathon? You don't run like I wouldn't go and run I walked to the mailbox and I'd be like okay wasn't too bad. I might walk to the corner tomorrow I mean like it doesn't have to be crazy. Yeah, doesn't have to crazy hard just like go with your own pace, you know Pace yourself. That's it bro. Yeah If you didn't have to count calories, what would you what would the meal look like we're not gonna call it a team meal Let's just say your favorite stuff. Yeah My all-time favorite food. There's there's a place called Pastoring co on the goal coach like you're there. We're going. Oh, I'm a We're there in a month exactly. We're going. I'm taking you to pastry and co They have the most fun like I'm a suck of a carrot cake, bro I love okay, well like will you expect in that no like carrot cake? I don't mind carrot cake I'd be if I brought we've I wasn't in fitness. I'd be a carrot cake or a garlic bread connoisseur Like I'd be next I mean that would be Nice. So I love carrot cake bro I I did a challenge that was my first YouTube video. I did a 10,000 calorie challenge. Yeah, right 8,000 calories and then burnt 10,000 calories. Well, did it with Jimmy judge yeah, and the food that I chose to eat Was carrot cake because I'm like this is my favorite food. This is the best chance. I've got I ate three kilo of carrot Oh, I just a lot until this day though I was a pre-fumult time where I was like I never want to hear the word carrot cake again Like a baby but but and that was that was pretty painful So I ate the cake and then went on I jumped on an assault like straight away So I ate it in three hours and I spent 23 hours on an assault like afterwards 23 hours straight straight Wow to putting perspective how much easier it is to eat and burn that was the goal to educate that's like Still got a rash on my back. I mean Yeah, I'm so glad that this chair is comfortable. Yeah I thought it was I have to go get my my ring cushion from the car It was it was nasty bro. Wow that there with four educational purposes all do whatever like that's crazy I loved it, you know, but that that carrot cake from patient It is it is but but not just that like they've got they've got like lemon meringue pro They've got Camel Chica it is it is Whoever's behind that the source would be behind that like So better than bam bam bake house way better, okay, like I used to I know the owner like Chris I love bambam bake house as well. You're a legend But yeah, patient coach got you all day We come through and do a battle. I'll put I'll put Everything on patient code to blow your socks off. Yeah, I promise you like you yeah, I'm keen lose you And it's cool. It's really just even the spot pro is nice. It's in it's in like Caramban valley in like a little eco village Like real peaceful. Yeah, you don't really get like that's where special occasions like mothers day all they kind of stuff That's right. That's when you get yeah, I love it bro And they love it as well. It's their favorite two, you know, they care cake is crazy Like is that near you've just got the sanctuary is it like Caramban similar to it? Yeah, yeah It's like it's within like five minutes of there. Yeah, cool. But it's yeah, that's where we're going boys. We're looking. Oh, I don't look at it There's so much there. I'm a sucker for sweet treats, bro Even though carrot cake I like caramel cheesecakes up there for me. I love maxi bonds actually. Oh You maxi, yeah, we are it's got you are as well. Yeah, the new ones not good though. I haven't the cinemas. I brought haven't tried it What's your favorite cinnamon? No Has it it's not strong enough for me. Okay. What's your favorite cinemas? Try to think all that Oh yeah, okay, it's red Yeah, I like bro, it's a thicker biscuit too. Yeah, there was something different about it. You're right like an Oreo bro, it's a thicker biscuit. - Yeah, yeah. - And the red parts, - It was a chocolate. - Yeah, I love the green one. - I love the green one. - Yeah, that's pretty good. - Look, they made, and the vanilla slices up there too. - I didn't like it at first, now I do. - It's good, yeah. - That was about to say. - I think I liked it, but I didn't take some. - I was good. - I was good. (laughing) - Oh, no, that's crazy. - So where can people follow you? - Instagram, TikTok, like you search on TikTok, calorie going or angel of white, I bought that. - Angel of white too? (laughing) - It's just reminding you of something else to circle back to other things I've been called. The reason that collaboration came about, mom, again, I had no idea who she was before, before the bro started commenting on her promise. - Just like mom doesn't know who don't at daddy. (laughing) - That reminds me, I gotta get on her phone and block him. (laughing) - But the bro's were calling me Aussie sins. - Ah, yeah. - That's how it started. - And I was like, man, that's funny. I could do something with that for sure. You know, that's how, I had a collab with Johnny Sins, and then I've done it, and that's how it started. - Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Chriswell, you search Chriswell and I'll pop up. - Yeah, come up. - Yeah, yeah, well, actually there's two of us. There's one that's funny and good looking. I'm not that one. (laughing) - You know Chriswell and the podcast, huh? - Yes, yeah, yeah. - The podcast is called Modern Wisdom. - That's legend of a human. Legend of a human, very smart as well. What, what, what, shouldn't say as well, very smart, very smart, yeah. - But yeah, I'm not that one. - William or Williams? - William. - No, yes. - Oh, yeah. - So you're not related. - No, I was gonna ask, 'cause these Williams, I'm with an S. - Oh, no way. - Yeah, well, I mean. - You never know. - I mean, you're basically curly hair. - What's your background, bro? What's your ethnicity? - I'm half Italian, but that's like English Irish. - All the things. - Yeah, he's like, yeah, yeah, yeah. - What do you think? - You're great. - You're great, yeah, that makes sense. I would've guessed that for sure. Mine, mine's changed. Every time I've asked, I'm a change-roaster, really? (laughs) - I actually did need history test recently, 'cause at first, mom was like, oh, yeah, we're Italian. And all of a sudden, we were Irish. I'm like, okay. - Okay. - Clearly no one knows. Clearly, but just making this up as she goes. So it was 69% Northwest in Europe, which is like, that's a pretty big, I feel like that doesn't really matter at all. - No, that doesn't matter. - I don't match my that. - But yeah, there was part like Icelandic in there. - Yeah. - So there's a bit of everything, but that's where it just was like this clump of raw. - You maybe felt something. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly. But what I didn't see was Italian. So like, okay, mom, you're wrong. - You know, but-- - We're not Italian. - But yeah, I've got really thick, my hair's really thick, bro. Like, I need especially. So I've had, my barber thought, maltees for a while, maybe. - Oh, yeah. - You know? - Who's the heroist from Europe? - Who's the heroist in Europe? - As in that's where you would have probably come for. - Oh man, I've now, if I weren't to get, I've got full body laser, bro. I weren't to get laser, like that's, yeah, yeah. I'm like a seal, bro. Like I don't even need to use a towel. I don't need to dry myself, bro. I step out, I'm dry. But yeah, if I weren't to get laser, I'd be hairy as well. - Sure. - Yeah, see you definitely. - And on that note. - Yeah. - No, thanks Chris for joining us. Appreciate it. - Oh. - We will see you soon in the Gold Coast. - We will catch up at pasturing. I'm holding you there. - No, yeah, we're gone. - 100%. - It'll blow your socks off, bro. I promise. - I don't know. - I don't know. - We'll talk about the calories in that cake afterwards. - We was like that. - I didn't tell us before. - That was the first instance ever. I did it to myself. So when I would go to that pasturing cone and I'd have a piece of cake, because the portions are massive, right? - Yeah, okay. - And like, we all do it, right? Even if you know how to can calories, you look at something and basically I'm how hungry you are, and how much you like the food. That's going to dictate, you're going to be biased, right? And that's exactly what I was. So that was the first instance I realized. The impact my content has on people. Like the people that are like, "Damn it man, like dammit, calorie guy." When I actually did that challenge and I weighed the piece of cake, and I realized how dense it was, that was for me the first time I was like, "Oh, dammit, I wish I didn't know." You know what I mean? 'Cause I would go and I would estimate, oh, maybe it's got 5,600. No bro, each piece has got 1,500. So it's like 3x, what I always get. - How many crisp pieces is that? - In 1,500, you're looking at 8. You don't mean like, and that's, for me, I didn't realize until actually weighted anything on my head, that's heartbreaking. (laughing) - Oh, it's like, oh crap. Every time I've gone here, I'll be way off as well. - Even if I have half, I've had four crispy. - It's worth it though, I promise. - Thanks for joining us, Chris. You're on the morning for someone's day or making a better day for you. - Thank you, Paul. - I appreciate you. - Thank you, man. - Thank you to Raw Stacks for sponsoring podcast. Make sure you get down there. Get your burgers. I always get two burgers, but I'm too be honest. - Yeah, of course you have to, when you go there, they do it right, but you can't go wrong with anything on the menu. Honest for 100%.

Summary:

The speaker, known as the "calorie guy," reflects on his journey from fitness coaching to content creation. He started with transformation photos and client testimonials, but his business faced major setbacks when he spread himself thin across ventures like a barbershop, tattoo clinic, supplements, and clothing. 5 million and five years into a flawed app project that never launched, due to poor tech foundations and lack of focus.
