Really excited about where we're going to do a mock draft analysis of what we did yesterday. Our 10-team mock draft is going to be a quick recap of what we think of our teams, and we're going to dive into a bunch of rookie talk. Our guy, Field G8, is doing first draft every single week now. New podcast just came out on Monday. Go check that out once you're done listening to this show, but we're going to dive into a bunch of rookie conversation. Obviously, we had a big injury that happened to one of the rookies we're going to talk about. I'm going to save it. Rather than go off the top, we'll put it into the show. We'll put it into that part of the show, but I do want to really quickly dive into a little bit of news that we have, because Keenan Allen signed this morning? Last night? I think it was like 1130 last night. 1130 p.m. last night. I was asleep. I've got to admit it. By the way, Michael Keenan Allen. Oh, okay. That's fair. Michael Keenan Allen. He goes by Keenan for short form. Yes. But signs with the Colts. Yeah. With this squad, obviously back with the team, and now we're in a situation. We were in on the Colts for a couple things, but they got three pass catchers that were there. So we already had kind of a little ways down. We have Tyler Warren, who we were really in on with all the targets that had been vacated with Michael Pittman leaving and maybe Josh Downs. How does Michael, excuse me, how does Michael Keenan Allen, I almost had it. How does Keenan Allen impact the way that you're going to look at this Colts offense? First of all, shout out the insider himself, Mr. Michael Lester Clay, who did say a couple days ago, maybe it was yesterday, Keenan Allen to the Colts watch is officially on. Yeah. That was, I hate to say it, but kind of a layup as far as those dot connections go. I mean, they had a very clear void at the number three spot, let alone the fact that Alec Pierce is not fully healthy. So yeah, I'm not, trust me, I'm not taking credit for that one. That was one that a lot of people have been speculating and makes perfect sense. Well, Mike, we tried to give you credits and instead you denied said credits. So I was trying to give my credit and say, nice call on Keenan Allen. It, uh, I will continue to give my credit for Keenan Allen. So, um, there are a few ways to read this. On the one hand, he's signing on August 18th and you're like, man, like all those injuries have piled up. Steven. Holder, our Colts reporter has noted like, man, I'm surprised it took this long. This has been months in the making Shane Steichen and Keenan Allen go all the way back to Steichen's days with the chargers, which is during one of Allen's earlier tenures with Los Angeles. And I think to myself, yeah, I mean, you could read into this that it's just because of the injuries the Colts have had throughout the training camp and off season. Sure. It also is the fact that Keenan Allen's like what, 34, right? Like, does he really want to be in training camp on July 28th going through the same old stuff that you go through every year during training camp? You think Keenan Allen needs five weeks of practice to get up to speed on how to run an option route? Of course not. It's Keenan Allen. It's a future hall of famer, at least in my opinion. So I think part of this is because of the injuries, Mike. I think part of this is also a long time coming for Keenan Allen to the Colts. He has jumped into the forties of my ranks. I forget what number specifically between 40 and 50, but to give you some perspective of about where he's at, he is going to have a handful of weeks that are awesome. He is going to have a handful of weeks in which Keenan Allen piles up 12 targets and goes eight for 62, maybe a touchdown. That's what I wanted Tyler Warren to be in this offense. Does that mean Tyler Warren's not eating as much? First of all, I didn't touch Tyler Warren's projection at all. He was at a 21% target share last year. Michael Pittman's out. 34-year-old Keenan Allen is in. I have a 22%. I didn't touch it. I don't think this affects Tyler Warren at all, who, by the way, also involved as a rusher. Three goal line carries last year. Still feel great about Tyler Warren. I did move. I did move down Alec Pierce and Josh Downs a little bit closer to where they've been in their career. Still a little higher for Pierce. They've paid him a lot of money when he's healthy. I think his role will be expanded. Again, remember, you're going from Pittman to Keenan Allen. I don't think he's going to be quite as good or as targeted. And I look back to last year for this because Keenan Allen last year had a 22% target share, which is a pretty big number. Yeah. But he was really bad in fantasy last year. He was in his final 15 games, including the playoffs. He was under 11 fantasy points in 14 of the 15. He had one big game. Otherwise, he was averaging like six, seven fantasy points against six, seven. Jesus, Mike. It's right there. Come on, Mike. I'm not trying to give you credit. Unsubscribe. No, what do they say now? I'm leaving the chat. That's right. Yes. So, yeah, I wonder if, you know, a guy was playing half the snaps last year and really was not productive, is going to be a guy that really moves the needle. So I kind of disagree with you. I'm lower on him. I think that it does affect the other receivers a little bit. But once Pearson downs are healthy, I think he's going to be good. Now, Pierce misses a couple of weeks to open the year. Different conversation. I think we rank Allen as a starter in fantasy, but I don't think it lasts a big chunk of the year. I viewed it when I heard this news the same way where Tyler Warren is still going to be the guy. I, you know, say that I'm nervous about it because I don't want Keenan Allen to come in and steal all the targets that I thought was going to go to him. But to me, it would be Josh Downs and Alec Pierce that are more impacted in this offense. I don't have. I don't have Keenan Allen inside my top 50. So I think there's a chance we're kind of saying the same thing, just maybe phrasing it differently. OK, go to the wide receivers 40 to 50 right now, if you don't mind. I would love to feel and look at some of the names that are currently being ranked between 40 and 50. Maybe Mike has it more handy. 40 to 50. Just some of the names. Chris Godwin, Jr. Jordan Addison, Josh Downs, Makai Lemon, Quinton Johnston, Khalil Shakir, Xavier Worthy. Yeah. Jaden Reed. So I think maybe. I think Khalil Shakir will be a little bit different than the rest of those guys. But don't we kind of view those guys as players who are going to have a handful of usable games and then some total duds mixed in as well? That's a fair way to put it. More. I feel like when you get to this territory of the draft, you're looking for more. Your starting lineup's filled out. You're looking for more of league winners. I don't think Keenan Allen's a league winner, but like a Denzel Boston or a Stribling or Concepcion or even Makai Lemon. Like those kind of guys just seem more appealing at this point. Like I'm not. Yeah. This comes back to knowing your name. Your needs, though, right? Is it just a matter as we said, the number one draft strategy yesterday is what you've done in the draft up to that point. That dictates what you're going to do for the rest of the draft. No doubt that if I'm looking for the guy that has the chance to be my wide receiver to in a legitimately championship winning team, I'm taking Makai Lemon over Keenan Allen. I also acknowledge that Makai Lemon could be a lemon for fantasy, right? Like he might be the clear cut wide receiver three and the clear cut pass catcher four in Philly's offense, which ain't exactly high volume as it is and have very little fantasy relevance this year, which where I think I think that Keenan Allen does not come back to Indianapolis for real money to not have a real role. The one thing I'll say about this is that once again, even if Alec Pierce was 100%, I think there's a decent chance they still do this. Yeah. I don't think this has been in the makings for months. Yeah, exactly. I just don't think they're planning on going into the season with like Nick Westbrook or someone along those lines as their number three receiver. So I will say if you're looking at Alec Pierce or you already drafted him, I wouldn't panic yet. Yes, he maybe misses a game, but he still seems to be on track for week one. And by the way, shout out to Chris Ballard, who kind of changed his game plan, adjusted a little bit. It was kind of frustrating for a long time how it was all in-house. They just want to go outside the organization. They've kind of shifted the last few years and the franchises made a leap forward and they were very good last year until Daniel Jones got hurt. So I think Colts fans might disagree with what you just said there, but making a leap forward. Like, yeah, they were eight and two last year, but I think it's eight, nine. It's progress from where they were. I mean, this is a big year for him. It's a huge, it definitely is. But this is the kind of thing you have to do. You can't be stubborn and not sign. Guys like this and just try to keep it. You can't like, well, Ashton Dillon's been here for five, six years. So he's our, he can't, he just can't operate that way. Let's put it on the poll. I have an idea because I think my big takeaway is I'm not really excited to draft any Colts wide receiver. Are you? And that's my question to the poll right now. Are you excited to draft any Colts wide receiver? I'm not saying a specific one. Okay. I know Mike lands on the Alec Pierce side. Yeah. Just that cost. I mean, his cost is so cheap now. It's so cheap. I'm not excited personally. Me either. All right. So that's two to one. So might as well just end the poll there. Yeah. I'm not scared Alright Guys let's do a little bit Of mock draft analysis Because yesterday We didn't to 10 team mock draft the three of us had i believe clay you were six and eight yeah four i was at six you were at eight fields why don't we start with mike's team we'll start on the other side of the desk mike and just yesterday you had an instant reaction but whenever we draft like you sleep on gave myself an a yesterday and i gave myself an a today okay um i did just get a spam text for uh about uh bagels so i might have to leave to go get bagels but anyway that's important i mean top top priority um yeah look uh pretty happy with the team the one thing you know let yesterday going into that uh draft we had a list of players mentally that we wanted to talk about mostly due to injury slash team sport but the guy we didn't talk about was perhaps the guy drafted earliest on that list which was christian christian mccaffrey who i took with one of my first picks in this draft so um the report there is there's some tightness that he's dealing with there was some speculation that maybe he was just holding in a little because of the contract signed by jameer gibbs and jean robinson uh reportedly from ian rapaport yesterday our new teammate ian rapaport that's right um is that that has no connection whatsoever and uh it's he's dealing with legit tightness but however there's no uh should have said that yesterday when i drafted him why i wasn't concerned but as far as i'm concerned right now i'm not changing anything i still expect him to be ready to roll week one remember last year sorry remember two years ago when there wasn't any concern about him playing week one at the same time as yeah yes and then last year by the way there was an injury rushed it but last year there was like at some point during camp last year something did flare a little bit and we're like here we go deja vu all over again and then he went on to be a totally healthy player the best player in fantasy football by far by far so there's you can make the you should be worried you can also make the case that you shouldn't be worried this comes down to so when we're doing these mock drafts and we have our rankings which are being updated in the case of mike like every 20 minutes but in the case of those of us who handle these rankings on espn at least every couple of days i'm going in there and making tweaks even if it's just one player going up three spots like we are constantly tweaking them they're reflected on the website uh one of our bosses scott clark we have this conversation often is that he really feels as though like the ranking should always be reflecting if you were doing the rankings a mock draft right now draft a draft right now not a mock draft a real draft right now how would you rank yep and would christian mccaffrey stay at i have him third overall in ppr scoring this is a half ppr but i'd feel just as good about cmc as third overall and half ppr as i do in full ppr or do we think that like are you really going to be the person that pulls the trigger on cmc a pick number three and if not then he shouldn't be that high in your rankings right yep um or are you having rankings that reflect the rankings that reflect the rankings that reflect where you think it's going to be by the time we get to peak draft season yeah right which we are not in peak draft season yet each of us has had a few drafts but i know most of my drafts are at least a week away and it's it's a fine line that you're kind of balancing i do based off of the information that mike just mentioned and just sort of the general tenor of the reporting surrounding christian mccaffrey i have not and will not be updated my rank for him i have him third overall half ppr included i'm not concerned at the moment about christian mccaffrey the strongest case about being concerned right now at least for me is if christian mccaffrey gets hurt during the season even if he comes back tomorrow and practices every day in full until the season begins and then in week three of the season christian mccaffrey gets hurt and misses a month i'm gonna say damn it i did it to myself again right because he's had an injury history if i take bijan robinson first or second overall and he gets hurt in week three i'm not gonna say damn it i did it to myself again i'm gonna say that sucks i got unlucky although the truth is you just got unlucky if christian mccaffrey gets hurt it's no different it's just there's a mental side of the game that machine mike can distance himself from compartmentalize daniel and i can't yeah but think about this if i told you right now i'm guaranteeing you christian mccaffrey will miss exactly four games not more not less exactly four games sure how do you how do you feel about him i still think he well do i have like the ability to draft a backup running back to fill in of course you you put a flex guy in there i think he goes at the end of the first round yeah exactly i mean it barely moves the needle i mean if you're guaranteeing you're getting that many games out of a player of that caliber that's a great thing to have i hear you still you don't get zeros when he's out three versus ten is a big gap in the in in the draft order also you don't get to choose when those weeks come and if they happen at the wrong time you know we're talking week 13 week 14 then like all of a sudden you're sunk in a different situation again week six through i know well we're putting a lot of caveats on it i'm not disagreeing with you if i knew that christian mccaffrey would be healthy for the entire season and all the things it would change the way that i'm ranking him yeah so you don't know that but just to put a pin in like where we presently stand the three of us mike made clear with his actions yesterday yep he is not changing his christian mccaffrey rank or approach i am saying i am not changing my christian mccaffrey rank or approach i had a draft on sunday night i had the sixth pick and i took christian mccaffrey i am also saying even with this i am not changing my draft you're just much lower than i'm just lower than you guys yes but i'm not i'm not moving him down any farther because of this as a part of the conversation i think it's important to know because there are a few players where my ranking i mentioned yesterday like i have officially grown concern with the mecca abuka yep that was like hours before todd bowles was like yeah he's day-to-day week-to-week we'll see whether he plays week one so my concern grows by the minute with a mecca abuka i have adjusted him he's down i think to wide receiver 13 from 11 not a huge bump down but christian mccaffrey has stayed where he is he's amongst the guys that even while dealing with an injury during training camp his his rank has not moved field i want to talk to you about your team because you waited on the quarterback spot in part because you had a guy you had ranked higher than some of the other rankers so you felt really good just waiting at qb i did i took justin herbert in round 10 he's my quarterback 6 mike famously as a quarterback 14 mike doesn't like him or madison beers music different conversation for a different podcast go check out espn audio you know there's it's i think in a in a different draft with a different group of people drafting yep this pick would feel different than it did yesterday because as an example i had in my 7th and 10 round picks christian watson and justin herbert mike in his 7th and 10 rounds 10th round selections yesterday got lamar jackson and jacori kroski merit i don't think that lamar jackson's going in the seventh round no ever no except for the people that we are drafting with agreed so waiting on quarterback when everybody is waiting on quarterback doesn't create the same advantage as when you're playing in a league where somebody is taking josh allen 17th overall and lamar goes 23rd and jayden daniels goes 27th and drake may goes 30 seconds and jalen hurts goes 40th but when lamar jackson goes whatever 66th justin herbert going 93rd doesn't feel nearly as valuable that just but that's classic espn fantasy rankings waiting on quarterback we all most all of us do it i am still a dramatic advocate for waiting at quarterback exactly yep and i also went i went early on tight end with brock bowers and i still loved the build there i had brock bowers in my second round um and i felt like it did not impact the ability to grab good running backs and receivers yeah i said this yesterday just remember that just because your neighborhood league might not see quarterbacks fall quite that far doesn't yes those guys are going to go early that's even better for you if like you said lamar and jayden that's great for you that means all those skill guys in those first few rounds those superstar players and other positions are falling to you it's going to be a huge advantage for you to still wait don't panic because in your neighborhood league it's not going the same way and these quarterbacks are getting clicked off you're still going to have outstanding value options bo nick stack prescott brock purdy stafford herbert is still going to fall i mean you have so many quality options yeah i also like if if josh allen and this was a mock draft so we're sort of toying with things i have josh 28th in my overall rankings so if i'm sitting there at the end of the third round and josh allen's still available he's in the queue at the very least thinking about it yeah at least thinking about it yeah i haven't projected way ahead of all the other quarterbacks the only reason i don't draft him as often is because again the opportunity cost is just not worth it where he goes that's quite often there's just so many good players of the other are you going to knock his projection at all in the games that they wear those uniforms by a lot yes good big time i don't know when they're is that a is that a thursday night thing or i don't even know what i i've seen the uniforms i don't recall if they've announced the dates yet um but it will be very notable when they play in those what's it called like nickel city uniforms yeah nickel city it is that they're going to do it twice this year right now we're getting the dates for you uh right now behind the scenes by the way we'll see if we rank him first in week one too we'll not be ranked for yeah houston so uh or something really quickly with my team guys and then we're going to take a couple questions from our chat about the draft i love my squad i went in with an idea i wanted to be able to go out and get guys that i wanted to target i understand where people are where the industry has them but i do my own rankings i do my own tiers and so i went out and targeted the guys that i wanted and with the way i was able to do that grabbing my running back in omari and hampton with my rb2 and jadarian price let me load up on a bunch of really good wide receivers jsn chris olave devonta smith having those three guys they're going to be starters every single week none of them are going to come out of my starting lineup i have drake may at quarterback he's not going to come out of my starting lineup i have sam laporta drake drake may may thank you sorry about that i have sam laporta and george kittle like i'm in a great spot at the tight end position so the big question mark is maybe you're out on omari and hampton that's fine it's not your draft it's mine if i'm in on omari and hampton i'm the one that has to be able to live with it it's my team right so when i look at this i feel like based on my rankings and how i value players i walked away with dudes i'm really pumped to be able to have in fantasy and i say that not because we don't love the draft grades mike i love getting a draft grade at the end but i don't care what mike's draft grade is at the end of a real draft mock drafts we have fun with it but i want to walk away with guys that i targeted and i felt like when i look at this draft i achieved a bunch of the things that i had been hoping to get this is why we do mocks yeah and i felt like i learned a bunch from other mocks so i'm really pumped with the way that this one worked out so you didn't sleep well last night you were up last night practicing this you're like you were so defensive and you were stressed i wasn't defensive i got a low grade and you had to talk yourself into this team i get it i can see right through this just a reminder by the way if you get a a b in college it's a 3.0 gpa yeah right and for those of us that i'll take it couldn't yes so i i actually think a b grade is is amazing in your focus in your in your uh your mock draft 2000 we talked yesterday about the when when we are doing this because we do have and not that people who play fantasy football can't make their own rankings but not many people that i know are are being compensated as a living to go and rank sure every player by position um but for us when like there is that fine line of like yeah like i love amari and hampton but i think i could probably get him around later yep there's a to me it's it's much less scientific and sometimes it's just art it's trying to play the board effectively so i hear you on like targeting your guys and feeling good about it but you also if you said hey i try to be patient and i missed out on one of my guys i think that's justifiable as well something you did that i love and i don't know that i would always love this in different years i'm down on the tight end double dip if i don't have one of obviously brock powers trey mcbride yep colson level and tyler warren yep and i would throw kyle pitts into one of those five guys that i feel really secure about he's going to be the number two option in the passing game maybe co-two with bijan robinson sure i think he's just he's become the player not quite to the level that we hope for but a good solid player in fantasy like if you grab a sam laporte and a george kiddo like you do i'm totally fine with that feel tucker craft plus somebody else yes there are a lot of guys that create just enough doubt that it's nice to have some insurance but there are also a lot of guys that create just enough excitement that if you hit on both of them you've created a real surplus for your roster right you grab two of them yep i'm with you on that we actually have a question from our youtube chat okay kind of around this a little bit this one comes from stressy 10 person league full ppr is it worth stashing one backup tight end or one backup quarterback on the bench field you were just saying this i fully agree with you yeah i mean i love the quarterback thing too at the end yes like the trevor lawrence plus brock purdy or trevor lawrence plus matthew stafford matthew stafford plus patrick beholmes like for free yes why not yeah the answer here i think is it depends who's there if someone's falling and you're like man george kittle has fallen too far people are too scared like you did yesterday yep pounce on george kittle it's the same thing i used the comparison yesterday last year i don't always like taking a second tight end especially if i'm secure with my first tight end or my first quarterback but like drake may was an easy click last year as an upside play and you could do the same thing with a second tight end and you could do the same thing this year considering how uh deep it is at quarterback and same thing with tight end like one of my last picks and most drafts is terrence ferguson for the rams i mean guys like that whether it's running back quarterback receiver tight end whatever it is there's a pool of these upside guys with your last few picks yep could be uh high ceiling insurance running backs first or second year high pedigree receivers and of course the tight ends and quarterbacks we just talked about like those aren't all in the pool and you should be just picking from that group late it doesn't matter what position so i am an advocate of what this person posed the question to do i am a generally an advocate for it what i will say is and not to try to the fence here but some of it just depends on also like what else you're doing like if if you grab i'm just if you draft jeremiah love and you're like i'm gonna pay full freight on tyler algier and you know you draft a a banged up wide receiver you're like i want to roll the dice on jordan tyson who we'll talk about later each time you do something in which you add a player who at least at the beginning of the season provides zero value to you it shuts the window on having that second quarterback or that second tight end because there's only well technically not a tight end but there's only room for one quarterback in your lineup correct so every time you do one of those things it decreases the opportunity a little bit to take a second quarterback just keep that in mind but in roster construction where that isn't an issue like again i've i've happily double dipped at qb because you're getting these guys in what 13th and 14th round if you're waiting usually i don't do both two quarterback and two tight ends i think i said that a little last week on the podcast um but yes i'm fully on board with that also george kittle right now still being drafted in the 10th round how many guys being drafted in the 10th round could legitimately be the number one pass catcher for their squad right now on fantasy football and i recognize the flags that are there because other than jake bobo obviously okay guys well guess we'll move on to the next question here one point on daniel's on daniel's squad that i think is important yes because i think we get a is it a good point yeah it is it's a good point about your squad and we're out of time for this there are people that sometimes ask a version of this question is like if i take jamar chase should i avoid chase brown right or if i take jackson smith and jigba should i avoid yep there were actually a lot of examples of a top 12 running back and receiver on the same team in 2025 last year there was a top 12 running back on the rams with two top 12 wide receivers the ravens the lions the falcons and the bangles all had top 12 running backs and wide outs the cowboys had a top 12 running back and two top 12 wide receivers so um the moral of the story if it's a good offense it's okay to double dip yes i probably wouldn't be double dipping on the browns sure early but i'm okay with double dipping i wouldn't want to do like burrow t higgins and jamar chase or something just too many eggs in the same basket but uh yeah fantasy football this year in field i already talked about this you obviously do the first draft podcast you know much more about these guys can't wait to learn about them but it feels like this year in fantasy the top end is just not nearly as full of guys that will be impactful for us in our game as it has been in years past does that feel about right i think so i think it was reflected in some dynasty leagues last year where first round picks were going for less than they normally would and there just wasn't nearly as much excitement in our we play in the dynasty league together and we do an offline draft and it was like oh we're already taking that guy that guy huh that third round or tail end of the first round not great but we do have a crown jewel so i thought what we figure what we do is like the rookies will kind of categorize them the must draft yep need to know i'll give you a little bit of the scouting some of these names we've talked about a ton so we'll be quicker on them scouting wise though jeremiah love you guys know this is a bijon robinson level prospect 40 touchdowns over the past two seasons back-to-back years with a 90 plus yard rushing touchdown in college he's fast he's elusive he's got enough power he's incredible as a pass catcher i'd be stunned beyond words if jeremiah love was not the first rookie taken in every redraft this year yes and he was probably the first draft first rookie taken in almost every dynasty league as well maybe maybe save super flex formats but we've talked about him pretty much every show he's going somewhere around the back end of the second round i think that's going to be exactly where he ends up where he should end up he is at rb 11 for me i know mike is a little bit higher his current is 18.5 jeremiah love not much more to say other than this kid rules as a player the mitigating factors are what they are right not a great offense tyler algier is going to play some level of a role and right now jeremiah love as an ankle sprain yep i wonder if we'll see that you know any of his draft uh adp dip just a little bit because of that ankle sprain i think it will as the preseason so right now mike do you still have jeremiah love at running back seven is that right yes i do i'm still very high on jeremiah love i moved him down behind like ashton genti but i i guess i or no i've cooked six genti seven so he's five and eight right now you love love but again those were guys were so close i just want to give you a little added perspective really quick here yeah i talked about the last nine running backs selected in the top 12 finished top 12 and fantasy points as a rookie i mentioned that stat many times this is the average stats for uh for the that group of nine players 15 games 289 touches 1456 yards 11 touchdowns 17.3 fantasy points per game that's the average for those nine running backs jeremiah love i have in the vicinity of that for the rest of this year so as far as i'm concerned it's all systems go tape looks good yeah for those reasons i am not out not out on jeremiah love one last tasty kicker and we got a long ways to go okay and there are a lot of things that could influence this but as of right now fifth weeks 15 16 and 17 the three teams that jeremiah love and the cardinals play the jets the saints and the raiders yep i talked about that last week remember my future headline yes he was a league winner this year so uh the rate i think the saints would be pretty solid on defense but uh and the jets will be okay i just they're better yeah but it's yes i just i think and i've said this before i think tanking is going to be a real thing in the nfl this season the draft looks that good and teams are realizing being in the middle is that unsavory yes there's no point in being the dolphins doesn't yeah it doesn't help you get better the dolphins the last five years correct yeah no point the dolphins are doing it correctly now right but there was no point like even though years in which they made got summarily dismissed by the chiefs when they forgot to show up for that very cold game all right you go from jeremiah love there's like clearly a gap now yes big gap right how many players are in this next tier that you feel like are still going to be on a weekly basis yeah i thought there were three until yesterday so now there's two um in whatever order you want to choose i'll say jadarian price first only because uh he's a running back and we're always looking for running backs sure he goes 32nd overall i thought he was i think i had him like 35th overall way off very very powerful runner no i'm not uh very powerful runner very fast excellent kick return man as well uh he's he's great at breaking tackles he's good between the tackles he's gonna make guys miss a little bit for a guy of his size but he's not as shaky if you want to call that a word as jeremiah love is probably caught a lot of passes in college right caught six last year so that's one of the big question marks but more than you got egg that's true true true true that's true um he had six catches last year of course so much of the passing game work was going to go to jeremiah love because he's that special fumbles were a problem for uh jadarian price as well got to keep that part of the equation rock steady because that's an easy way to get yourself sent to the bench but he goes to seattle who has the third highest run rate in the nfl last season they had a league i 85 red zone runs and going into the draft it felt like the shallowest running back room in the league right i mean even the cardinals had a pretty decent running back room prior to jeremiah love yeah so jadarian price daniel i know has him as rb19 mike and i think are a little more bearish rb 24 25 that range um but still i think he's deserving of being drafted in i want to take a quick sorry six seventh round six seven okay i like it let's talk i want to look at the adp of guys going around him i'm just curious how you feel about right now with where jadarian price is coming off the board you're talking about harold fannin mike's favorite guy luther bird in the third basial tootin matthew stafford jadarian price i mean this is you're talking like you said seventh this is eighth round eighth into ninth round mike adp is going to be a little bit adp is not ninth round for jadarian price in the rest of the industry we're yeah no he's going in the sixth round right now sixth round yeah he's going in six round of 12 team leagues uh again i'm a little lower than you i would be higher on him if uh zach charbonnet was just out for the season but by all accounts could be first month of the season something along those lines that makes me nervous i just feel like you might get to a point weeks where zach charbonnet ramped up for a couple weeks and he's a big part of that offense and they love like to your point you talk about the little things running backs do charbonnet did those for uh the seahawks that's the reason ken walker the third had such a limited role last season and i don't expect that to go away once charbonnet uh who by the way isn't like 33 years old you know he's still in his prime he's a young running back he's gonna come back he's gonna be healthy and they like him he's gonna have a role in this backfield uh the only thing that i want to say based off of that full screen that daniel just showed and i know that mike has the industry uh consensus adp um we've been saying matthew stafford like one of our favorite late round quarterbacks based off of live draft data he is not because he's going 79th which is not late round not late round middle round that's the eighth round so just keep i will at least going forward until that unless or until that that that sort of levels out i will not refer to matthew stafford we think of him as a late round he's going in the ninth round of 12 team leagues you have to keep in mind too adp there could sometimes reflect like six team leagues and there's a lot of casual leagues out there and so if you're in a six team league matthew stafford might go quite a bit earlier if it's a you know rams fans or someone who doesn't know you know knows he's the league mvp and wants to grab him or whatever draft players named john and teams like those leagues exist so yeah yeah john i mean john stafford's still pretty good that's a good guy that's right if you're from philly uh different kind of john different john you're right john you're right let's talk about carnell tate we were pumped on carnell tate field g8s yeah and i'm not gonna let the performance i know mike has adjusted the ranks a little bit i i'm not gonna just a hair yeah a tiny bit i'm not gonna let week one of the preseason totally dissuade me i thought that carnell tate was the most pro ready prospect in the entire draft maybe along with jeremiah love because he plays a very transferable position at running back what he lacked in premier deep speed he made up for in great hands very good route running effort as a blocker all the things that will keep him on the field in all situations right this is not going to be a guy who's yanked when they're playing one wide receiver sets i think this offense makes a leap wandell robinson is probably being underrated once again because he's a really good player but i think carnell tate uh deserves to be drafted around jadarian price somewhere in that wide receiver 22 to 25 range yeah i'm just a hair low uh low rent and you guys if you look back i did this i do this article actually it's in the nfl section um like rookie projections uh about a month or so after the draft ends and i always look pretty close or you know very closely at like the history of players with similar draft capital so i look back at the history of players with similar draft capital and uh the 16 wide receivers who played more than a few snaps who are drafted in the top 10 over the past decade and the numbers are wild actually 12 of the 16 receivers picked in the top 10 had at least 865 yards the exceptions tavon austin cory davis and mike williams who all missed at least three games that year uh and roma dunzey was the other exception and of course he was behind dj more and keenan allen the three the 13 receivers who played at least 14 games handled a get ready for this 25 percent tarpon and he was the only one who played at least 14 games handle a get ready for target share as a rookie the lowest was a dunzey's 19 percent so that tells us that carnell tate and when healthy we'll get to him in a second jordan tyson based on history they should handle big workload so that's that was my initial optimism on carnell tate um i do want to see a little bit more from cam ward from this but again i i moved him in a couple spots but i still have him as an every week starter as a wide receiver three yep so he's going at the beginning of the eighth round so a little bit ahead of what we were just talking about with jadarian price yeah roma dunzey roma dunzey or carnell tate right there i mean he's surrounded by a bunch of running backs that we're looking at um so this is going to be an interesting spot for for him to figure out what he can be in this titans offense field let's talk about jordan tyson unfortunately because we were all in on this kid first round rookie loved i have been in on the saints i love what the saints could potentially be this year and the dude is electric unfortunately found out he's going to miss eight weeks with the hamstring that he is dealing with how where does that put us right now eight weeks from today that would be like week six or seven hey yo and they're they have a bye are we bringing it back are we bringing six seconds back hopefully thank you please have a bye week they have a bye week eight so keep in mind what that probably means right like you're probably talking about week nine best case scenario and so i think this this one really people might get sick of us talking about it this one really comes down to what you have done in your draft up to this point right like the ranking on jordan tyson matters it sort of doesn't as well right because if you're just ranking the players based off of how many projected fantasy points they will score for the upcoming season he should not be in your top 60 yeah but if you're ranking the most valuable assets you could easily put them inside your top 60 of wide receivers because maybe you feel you could feel as though jordan tyson upon his return whether it's for five eight ten games has the chance to crack the top 25 of wide receivers more frequently than other wide outs who may never get there right like you may feel as though omar cooper jr we'll talk about in a minute like there's just no chance he has upsides so why bother ranking him ahead of jordan tyson even though omar cooper jr is healthy so it just comes down to philosophical philosophical thing on rankings yeah no doubt and by the way you know i think a lot of people listening might be thinking well eight weeks from today is like week five but it's a hamstring and he's a rookie and like i and he's i think there's a chance he comes back before the bi-week but the reason we say week eight by back in week nine i mean it would not be surprising based on his history and what type injury this is that he's held out until that point right so i think it's a good thing that he's held out until that point right so i think it's a good thing that he's held out until that point right so yeah he could come back earlier i don't think that makes a difference for me when i'm ranking him you know i'm gonna expect him to miss a big chunk of the season and frankly there are just so many including rookies like upside guys once we get to rounds 10 11 12 i just don't know if it's worth it like i'll take dijon stribling without even hesitating right now and you can apply that to concepcion and denzel boston and guys like that as well i want to ask you guys this question really quickly right now with where we're at in draft if we know we know he's going to miss time two months right so when you draft a kid like this you're talking about purposefully drafting a person you know you're going to put into your ir spot right so you're not going to probably draft a george kittle and a zach starbonnet and a jordan tyson unless you just have a crazy deep ir league yeah when you do this with jordan tyson do you think with where you have to draft him you're drafting him and now you really can't use your ir on someone else or if somebody else gets hurt are you like you know what i'll burn my 13th round pick it's just jordan tyson got to draft him off the ir i didn't even get any value out of what i had you know what i mean that's a part of the conversation yeah i mean i i mentioned the ranking doesn't really matter he's no longer my top 60 okay then my i'm like that's that's so if you draft him and then have to drop him with where you will be drafting him at you're not like all right i just i can't believe i invested that you're like no that's how it works it sucks i don't think i'm taking him it would have to be an extreme situation where i went heavy on all the other positions and i'm like my receiver situation is really bad i'm gonna need i'm gonna need a hero mid-season i'm gonna need a hero mid-season maybe i'll leave him stashed but by the way keep this in mind too he seems like a safe prospect we don't know like we don't know if any of these guys are going to be good for nando mendoza looks like he's going to be a really good player we don't know hit that at all we don't know if jeremiah love's going to be good we don't know anything about these guys at the pro level they haven't been there so he could come back finally and be okay in fantasy and you're like i waited half the season right for a guy that's i don't even want to put in my flex spot that's the thing it's just the expense that's where i'm at as well i think he's a very very talented kid by the way like incredibly explosive good things happen when the ball is in his hands yes the hype next year in 2027 drafts is going to be enormous but we're not there we got a question from our chat right now by the way shout out to our buddy at eric moody follow him on social media at eric and moody but right now chat from our queue this one comes from jeff c you might be our most popular yeah absolutely we love jeff uh who is the the wide receiver two now not um no surprise that devon valet and tyler shook have a good chemistry they are uh valet who they traded fourth round pick yeah for um from denver great piece of business by denver last year but valet plants bright moments down the stretch last year yep uh and valet by the way had 66 catches in two seasons like not a not a non-factor through two years for a guy that was taken in the seventh round so i thought valet was a good player coming out of utah um i also understood he was an old unathletic prospect relative to guys being taken field just ageism is a crime i learned it from mike yeah he was he was very much an old prospect uh but yeah he you know he was hurt a lot of last season he had 12 fantasy points in one game but he did play a pretty sizable role for a month before he got re-injured so i expect him to be the number two uh if if he can get into the flex conversation as a matter of how good tyler shuck is if he ups his game this year and can support uh obviously chris alave travis h and out of the backfield maybe joan johnson now with tyson out can hang in the in the tight end one conversation for a little while i don't think there's enough there for valet to get to the flex conversation but i have him ranked like right around 70 which makes him like a last pick in your draft good with that one right there you said that you had only three guys in this list part of like 1a 1b yep and that's carnell tate jadarian price and jordan tyson mike had a bone to pick with you because he wanted to add one name to this no opposite oh mckay lemon was on the list i said he should be probably down oh he shouldn't be on the list i i did not have mckay lemon on my list all right we're we're in concert so we're on the same page there yeah i don't think you should be so then here's the thing let's talk about with mckay lemon and a bunch of other guys field there were other like high drafted wide receivers like first rounders second rounders here but we just don't have the same kind of upside it feels like let's talk about the upside city guys well can i just i don't want to totally dismiss mckay lemon like he was the 20 what first 22nd overall pick yep like he's obviously and he was on the blitnikoff last year which is the best college wide receiver should have been jeremiah smith but who cares um anyways he's a great player uh he's a slot guy and this eagles offense you know like they had a hard enough time supporting both aj brown and davante smith yep are they going to be able to support davante smith and maybe don tabian wicks and maybe mckay lemon alice goddard alice goddard so hollywood brown once in a while it is going to be an adjusted offense i just have less confidence for those reasons on top of the fact that mckay lemon has been out for a lot of training camp understood upside city all these players maybe with the exception of the first one that i mentioned as of right now we're going way outside of the top 100 in the espn draft data so keep in mind that if you see them go earlier than this that's fine i'm just telling you right now on espn on average they're going much much later than this maybe the most intriguing name maybe the guy that generated the most heat this preseason amongst rookies jean stripling yep 33rd overall pick big height weight speed guy coming out of old miss via oklahoma state and washington state was great for old miss in the playoffs last year with cooked can really run precise route runner good after the catch and he had seven catches in the niners preseason opener there's a world in which week one the niners tried out mike evans christian kirk debo samuel george kittle as their four top pass catchers and it wouldn't be totally surprising right like those guys all got real money especially mike evans he got real real money christian kirk got i think like seven million worth up to 10 or something and debo got a contract worth up to seven million dollars it's possible san francisco says we have a window we'll be the third best team in our division but we also might be a top six team in the nfl like we don't have time to wait on rookies yeah there's also a chance in which san francisco was like jesus this is the only guy that has some consistent explosiveness dejean stripling giddy up but he has been ascending he has become one of my favorite round tenant on targets i could not have said it better myself also his uncle's a wwe hall of famer so i mean really does that move the needle for you a little bit uh don morocco yes that's right wow yeah so fun fact there i'm the wrestling guy around here clearly so everyone knows that but no doubt he may lead the team in targets this year so i mean both ways right wide range of outcomes and that's what you want to do with your he's going in the 12 13th round right now and 12 teamers across the industry it's an easy click right now you want those potential league winners in that area of the draft all right so the two browns receivers will do them together casey concepcion a little explosive two touchdowns as a punt returner last year uh dynamic both at nc state and texas a&m undersized slight and real quarterback concerns for me in Cleveland so i am generally fading this passing game with the exception of harold fannin if i'm taking a a shot on he or denzel boston i'm still taking the shot on casey concepcion for this reason i think denzel boston would need to win with like lots of volume and lots of touchdowns not sure you're gonna get a lot of volume or touchdowns here but boston really solid player great hands great route runner can play in the slot just the reason why he went 39th and not 24th is he's not a very good athlete for a while yeah just keep in mind the pass catchers the big three here wide receivers for cleveland going in the 11th 13th and 15th round jerry judy of course added to that list so very inexpensive i agree with you concepcion is the most appealing of the trio for sure but i think all of them are fine dart throws late in your draft don't forget jerry judy is a very good football player and he's been a top 25 fantasy wide receiver two of the last four years so he has it in there it's it's possible um it's just gonna be a question of what kind of quarterback play we got a couple of like just really bad offenses that recognized through the draft we need to just add some firepower browns are one of them they added a bunch of offensive guys jets did the same thing uh we'll get there in one second i think we have them oh sorry well you do the dolphins next just quick i don't know if maybe i have it back no no you're right um dolphins caleb douglas and chris bell both guys have been good players for the last four years taking the third round uh douglas spent a pair of years at texas tech 15.1 yards per catch so pretty good pretty explosive player he had i would say the catch of the preseason so far in their opener against the commanders uh it's a grand opportunity for somebody in miami just not optimistic about this passing game chris bell looks legitimately like aj brown he's coming off of a november acl tear he was recently brought up from the nfi list we'll see whether he is even on the field at the beginning of the year i don't think miami who is doing it right and stripping this thing down to the studs is going to be in a rush to bring him back to the field but so i i am these are two capable bodies another set of rookies that i'm not heavily invested in yeah i think caleb douglas a fine late round flyer just because he might be their guy that leads the team and targets the season as for chris bell i feel like if malik willis is fine like as long as he's not a disaster i think chris bell is going to be one of them like guys we're talking about on a waver wire show on a tuesday you at some point this season we're like whoa did you see he played a little more this week had some nice catches caught a touchdown time to scoop him up for your bench and see because this guy it'll be legit but you think he goes in round two if he's healthy chris bell yeah i think he would have gone like one to two yeah there you go see there you go very very explosive player um omar cooper jr in the jets uh omar cooper jr and kenyan sadiq from the jets uh couple updates here uh kenyan sadiq uh hernia situation he has missed a lot of training camp yeah and omar cooper jr if you put any stock into pre-season snap share looks like he's buried right now right the team is talking up isaiah williams an undrafted free agent of daniel's lions a couple years ago aaron glenn is saying all the right things about um this could be a red shirt season and i am approaching my drafts as such for both jets receive both jets pass catchers not investing right now the only thing i would say there is i remember this is i'm going back to justin jefferson's this time justin jefferson's first training camp and they're like uh he busy johnson's taking that job like he's right justin jefferson and that's how the season started the first two weeks busy johnson was playing against uh head of justin jefferson and then week three happened and the rest was history that being said it's a little different uh you have garrett wilson of course there's they're talking about ad mitchell i'm a little hesitant on his upside but he you know they have a couple tight ends they like breeze out of the backfield assuming he's going to be healthy and good to go so i agree i would like to see more positivity on omar cooper but this might not be his year next up is jeremy bernard third round wide receiver uh second round wide receiver for the steelers out of alabama via michigan state and washington uh he was playing behind that trio of receivers roma dunzey jalen polk and jalen mcmillan during his washington time goes to alabama becomes their leading receiver very reliable hands did not have a 50 plus yard catch during his college career so it's going to have to be a guy that dominates in the target department not in the big play department and i don't know like am i really expecting offense with dk metcalf and michael pitman and an assortment of tight ends yeah to get the rookie receiver that involved early my answer is no no probably not he'll need an injury and also roman wilson apparently is the three job locked down right now i think that'll change at some point it better i mean if bernard can't pass him out after the struggles he's had yeah if he scratched at times last year that would be a problem uh but i agree i think he's well off the fantasy radar right now this one could intrigue me it's malachi fields for the giants third round pick who uh came out of the game and he's going to be a good guy i think he's going to be a good guy for his final college season had no drops last year great great hands uh he ran for six two or something at the combine not fast he's a contested catch specialist we know who wide receiver one is in new york it's malik neighbors but when your wide receiver one is coming into the season banged up and we don't know who wide receiver two is has me sort of intrigued there's at least and there's at least a little bit of buzz here he had a beautiful toe tap touchdown in the corner of the end zone yeah you have like darius slain and darnell mooney like guys like that even odell beckham's there juju smith schuster's there there's a lot of these veteran receivers and they might just like soak up snaps early in the year but at some point you have to imagine they take a longer look at when odell beckham jr is playing in the first preseason game do we expect him to like still be on the roster i do not you don't think he makes the 53 i don't know i feel like if you're a veteran playing preseason week one like that calvin ridley did the same thing like i dropped calvin ridley completely out of my ranks after i saw him get time in week one i could be way off here i'll just say this is um and we got ripped through some names and i have an update here is if it wasn't john harbaugh as the coach i could if it was like a coach who was already on the like the hot seat you might be like keep him for the business moves um but john harbaugh doesn't have to worry about the business side of football he's gonna make this team notable and remember when they signed juju and obj was when it was like uh-oh we might have neighbors for a while now it looks like we're gonna have neighbors yeah all right so this is more important than the rest of these names that we'll get to um aaron glenn the jets head coach has said that breese hall is going to be out two to three weeks okay but he expects him to be ready for the season opener keep in mind season opener is three weeks and five days from right now so if it's that three weeks it's still gonna be a little dicey there it's gonna be hard to and this is a whatever a groin groin injury so just keep an eye on that one there we'll talk about that more during the show tomorrow yeah i would just say quickly instant reaction if you're drafting today is maybe it breaks a tie like maybe you go the other direction that's about it i'm not moving john judkins cam scadaboo those type of players graded or ranked similarly to um or go right wide receiver there yeah uh just really quick on some names here jacoby lane for the ravens generate a lot of hype guys i can't invest in a second wide receiver in the baltimore offense history has told us we can't do it there too even with a great camp cyrus allen from the chiefs having a great camp i think it might be a little bit more of a story the fact that the chiefs are relying on a fifth round receiver to be a highlight player um totally serviceable double digit round investments but yeah we'll see is it do you feel like you've heard more just like pre-season hype allen than you've heard about former first rounder xavier worthy in this chiefs perhaps but i would say this and like he could buck the trend every year the someone's getting pumped by the chiefs it's like every year justin ross is it's it's i do yeah that's you're right jalen royals and justin ross you're in a patrick offense any one of these awesome like every year right i mean they're one of the most well you know they're the preeminent franchise in the nfl for the last decade like they're going to be covered extensively so there's been a lot of guys that have generated hype in kansas city and have not paid off um fernando mendoza we can talk about that later zachariah branch for the falcons excellent after the catch but we're focusing on drake london and kyle pitts yeah and uh peter robinson skyler bell doesn't sound like he's a factor right now for the bills wide receiver five it looks like yep and then ted hirsch for the buccaneers more intrigued because of the mecca abuka injury situation but still has a ways to go all right what about some rookie running back dart throw to your field we've got eight minutes left running back is a little bit thinner i think it's important to know these names because they're insurance backs mike washington jr uh his final college season yeah looks had that 53 yard run for vegas in their season opener average over six yards per carry for arkansas he is the classic height weight speed running back of those guys a lot of all those things and uh clint kubiak has said he wants to be a little bit more equitable in the backfield fantasy wise he's only a factor of genti's hurt no doubt uh emma johnson fifth round pick for the chiefs out of nebraska one out of that first preseason game ran well thought he probably got underdrafted a little bit it's a ken walker show though right but he's a ken walker insurance ball yeah don't forget who his competition is arson steel amari de mercado that's right amari that's right battling for that two job uh one of the surprises in the nfl draft is caitlin black he went the third round uh out of indiana a non-combite invitee going to the third round that's rare um we'll see the niners have this history of drafting shanahan and um they ever work out i'm not really working out yes um like the way he ran like the college production last year but i am hesitant to invest in him i'm not even sure that if something happens with cmc he would be the guy to himself i think it would be a committee uh jonah coleman he's been a buzzy guy in preseason um i would say this i like the player i like the skill set there's a little bit of sean payton had a little bit of the same thing with kansas city we were there's a sean payton guy that you know he's buzzing he's doing this and that right marvin mims and these guys and pat bryant not all those have really amounted to much so not fine as a late round dart throw but i am not convinced that jonah coleman's gonna have a big i think he might be better than rj harvey certainly as a runner though okay so he's very intriguing to me i feel like if something happens to jk dobbins and look dobbins swears he won't miss a game this year obviously he can't really control that but if something happens to dobbins coleman's gonna be so that puts him in that tier with those late round running back you didn't like him down the stretch rj harvey not not rushing efficiency he's a he's a capable pass catcher and he took advantage of a good offense and scored a bunch of touchdowns but uh he's gonna regress to the mean in the touchdown department and again i i think that coleman's probably a better rushing all of these broncos running backs coming off the board crazy late by the way no one is in on either jk dobbins tough 13th round and rj harvey 14th round so all of them are basically free to me i like him i'll last name for the running backs adam randall and sorry to rip through some of these guys but like not a great rookie class so we're not going to overdo it on some of these guys adam randall former college receiver who finished up as a running back during his time with the tigers uh he and derrick henry weigh combined to nearly 500 pounds it is a good looking running back room uh i saw adam randall up close at the senior bowl last year and you're like oh my god that guy's in the running back group what about the tight end or the defensive end spot he is really well built i don't think he's particularly good at running backs but he's got a lot of instinctive as a runner, but he's very unique because of the pass catching. It the derrick henry show though it is derrick henry show in baltimore yep he has been teflon derrick henry so good to know who the backup would be if derrick henry exactly banged up and i think that's probably adam randall with a healthier dose of guys like justice hill yeah justice hill more of a passing down guy probably not going to ever clear double digit carries in a game again barring disaster uh but randall is an underrated insurance running back i'd say it's a guy who we're not really talking about but as soon as something happens to derrick henry like who's the guy and he's the best candidate you know he's going to get the goal line work and probably lead that team and carries and what should be a pretty good offense so don't forget that name all right want to head to the wants to know what round is too high to take stribling mike sr high aficionado what i mean how high is too high first round's way too high i would say uh let's see i'm looking at the names because you know i have him at 54 i keep moving him up i've been drafting him so i'm getting him in this range but once you get to like i'm looking at 8 through 10 where it's like jayden reed and worthy and quentin johnson and now josh downs i think that is the vicinity maybe a hair ahead of that like a jordan addison level um because it's not crushing your team if you miss right and the upside is terrific if you remember this is an offense it's probably an average nine or so yards per pass attempt which is the extreme that's like but it's normal for kyle shanahan's offenses so he should be highly efficient when he's on the field and if he is an every down player he's going to pay off at that adp like it so that's like ninth tenth round you're saying yeah okay somewhere in that range yeah so about nine to ten before that would be a little too before that's probably a little too high i mean i'm not going to crush you for like round eight but you know six round there's so much opportunity you're doing something crazy there yeah all right next question that we have from our youtube chat this one comes from riley nagel wants to know has olave's value grown with tyson being out for two months thinking of getting him as my wide receiver one mike did you move the projections at all with this tyson injury yeah i moved a lot of up a little bit his target share i had projected down a hair from where he was last year and now it's kind of meeting in the middle a little bit so i did move him up ahead of gyart wilson aj brown and i guess i had him ahead of malik neighbors already so moved him up two spots that's a potential is that wide receiver one range 10 yeah yeah i'm i think i'm wide receiver 11 he was at wide receiver 12 so i i there wasn't a lot i think it's a it's it's two things at once it's a positive it's also not doesn't dramatically shift his outlook right i think there's still a little bit of while this injury can help chris olave chris olave has dealt with his own thing that gives a little bit of some yellow flags as a part of drafting him as well which is a you know at least some of the thought process that i have yes unfortunately
