A lighthearted speed-dating event in Los Angeles brings together a group of single men for an authentic connection with Sandy, a participant seeking meaningful relationships. The evening begins with a discussion of a new Domino's Detroit-style pizza, introduced as a personal, convenient, and delicious option that symbolizes the theme of small, satisfying moments. As the men share personal stories—spanning careers, health, and life experiences—Sandy values qualities like loyalty, humor, and emotional stability over physical traits. The interaction emphasizes genuine human connection, with one man recalling a deeply meaningful date with a sick man who appreciated simple human contact. After a playful card trick and engaging conversations, the group agrees to pursue one-on-one dates off-camera, without cameras or pressure, to foster real, personal connections. The event concludes with a joyful, hopeful tone, highlighting that love is not about finding a perfect match, but about shared values and mutual respect. The experience is framed as a celebration of authenticity, vulnerability, and the joy of human connection, with Domino's serving as a symbolic backdrop to the meal and moment.
Do I have to wait for all the men to come in order to eat this pizza?
What?
Can I start eating this pizza or must I wait for the men?
Yeah, you have to wait for the men.
I don't want to wait. I just want the Domino's now.
Well, you can have this one that I ordered you. This one is just for you.
You ordered this top one for me?
Yeah. It's their new thing.
What is this?
It's actually really good. It's different than these.
What is it? Is it?
It's called a Domino's.
Domino's?
Domino's.
Domino's.
I think. Oh, it's. We'll have to share it. It is meant for one, but we're going to share.
This is a completely new product.
I know. It's so good. It's Detroit style.
This is a. Detroit style pizza.
I'm so happy that. It's really good. It's really good. I mean, you're lucky.
You think that we have to save that?
You're lucky I did this for you.
Do you think we have to save any of this for Benny and his mother?
No.
They can share it with the men.
Do you think that we're going to successfully set Benny's mother up with the love of her
life today?
There's a lot of good potential, but I don't know. I don't know what it's like to date
at. To date on a dating game show on a. Well, I don't know what it's like to. Multimedia.
I mean, she's at a different phase in her life than me.
Mm-hmm.
But love is love. At the end of the day, we're all trying to die with someone we love.
Well, that's. Yeah, I hope.
I am enraptured by this Domino's.
It is really good, but I don't want to eat too much.
You could put it in your pocket.
Before, think about how burdensome it is to order a full pizza if you just want a little
bit of pizza.
Yeah.
It's the perfect serving amount.
Oh, my God.
That's good.
I've just been starving myself.
Have they never had a single serving?
It's honestly genius.
Should I call Benny and see when they're coming?
Mm-hmm.
Chuck, how far out are you guys?
Chuck, we're right around the corner. Quit stressing out.
There's some pizza here, but. Domino's?
I'm eating it.
It might not be here by the time you get here.
No, but the personal. She's going to be heartbroken before she even gets here. gets on the show if you eat it all.
It will be here because there's this Domino's shaped pizza that's smaller that we've started
consuming.
Sandy, do you think you're going to meet the one?
You never know.
We're ready to set it all up for you.
This is Sandy.
I got some friends.
Hi, Sandy.
Hi, Sandy.
These are men looking for love who are single.
Bring them on.
Read so much about you on the internet.
What?
Sandy, you are free to hand out your sunflower.
It makes me anxious.
I've been this close.
Come on up!
Come on, everybody.
Come on up.
Oh, I love it.
I love it.
I love it.
I love it.
I love it.
I love it.
Mom, are you excited?
Mm-hmm.
Did you ever think the day would come where you'd be in this type of scenario?
No.
Where's Sandy?
Right here.
She's over there.
Are you there?
Wow.
I'm here.
The beautiful Sandy.
I'm so happy that this scenario could even ever present itself.
I know.
I know.
Wait, we should. What are you doing?
Mom, are you nervous at all?
Now, am I allowed to play with this thing?
You're about to sit in my seat.
That's a joke.
Can I play with this?
Please.
Please do.
You can get used to something.
Look at what she's doing.
Wow.
That's fun, right?
We want you to be yourself.
Yeah.
We want everyone to be. We want you to remember how to grip. What?
What?
What?
A grip?
Grip the. Oh, okay.
I'm gripping.
No, no, no.
All right.
Now, Mom, we got a lot of guys coming out.
Mm-hmm.
I mean, we got Brad.
She doesn't like Brad Pitt.
Who's your dream man?
If you could look at a man and he's like a celebrity, what's he look like?
I used to like Rick.
I used to like Richard Gere, but not the older Richard Gere.
I don't like. John Travolta?
No.
The younger John Travolta?
No.
What about Brad Pitt?
No, not Brad Pitt.
Not. What do you mean you're not. Mom, okay.
I didn't love Brad Pitt.
No, Mom, right now.
It just wasn't my type.
You walk into the bathroom and Brad Pitt's there and he says, "I gotta hook up with you
right now."
No.
He's not. You'd say no.
You'd say no.
You would not say no.
I'd be intrigued to meet him to see what he's like, but I. You wouldn't fuck Brad?
Because I know everyone else loves him.
But he just isn't my kind of. I don't know.
He just doesn't have the look.
Well, make sure to let Brad know that you don't want to hook up with him.
He doesn't have the look.
And Leonardo DiCaprio, they're not my kind of look of what I like.
Are they too young looking for you?
Yeah, they look like baby faces, kind of.
I can't explain.
I like them more earthy.
Do you know like Javier Bardem?
Do you know who he is?
I know who he is, but he's not. His head's too big.
She'd rather fuck Jeffrey from JD.
Well, what about. It's like 80.
Have you ever watched The Golden Bachelor?
Yeah.
Did you think he was cute?
He was cute.
He was cute.
He was a jerk.
None of these men are here.
The men that are here are. A Joe Schmoes.
Are men who. No.
They're not. They're men of the world.
They're potential suitors.
Yeah.
As far as I understand, they're not even actors.
These are men. Looking for love.
These are men looking for love, who are single, who, you know. Who wouldn't mind being filmed.
Yeah, exactly.
Yeah.
And I think that. Now put it in.
Well, we should start by. Sticking it.
Sticking it.
Your son is. Sticking it.
Inside.
Inside.
What is this?
A card trick?
A card trick?
Yeah.
Inside.
Okay.
Perfect.
Okay.
What?
Yeah.
I'm doing my card trick.
I think we should start by you telling us and anyone listening or watching, one, what
you're looking for in a man.
Okay.
Now?
Yeah.
Yes.
Ready?
Go.
Yeah.
Responsible.
Smart.
Sense of humor.
Dedicated.
Loyal.
Tall.
A good parent.
Tall would be nice, but they don't have to be tall.
Best friend.
Yes.
I wanted them to be my best friend, but that would come.
Yeah.
I mean, that doesn't happen right away.
Now, do you think there's a world that a man is going to come out and you're just going
to be like love at first sight?
It's happened before.
Really?
You've had love at first sight?
A little bit.
A little bit.
It's their energy and their personality.
It's not just a physical thing.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
There has to be something in common.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It can't be all totally different things.
There has to be a few common things.
What are the common denominators?
You have children.
You like to-
It isn't always a list.
It's just kind of you feel.
You feel your way.
Every human being has a sliding scale of attributes.
Yeah.
Yeah.
It just depends on what attributes they're-
All of mine are so different from each other.
If you look at all the people I've dated, they're so different from each other.
Yeah.
Like that guy with three nipples.
Is there anything you don't want to see from these guys?
Fake.
Yeah.
Authenticity.
Not real genuine.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yes.
Yes.
Genuine and a kindness.
Have you ever left a date?
No.
I always see them through and I always give them too much time.
One time I was looking for a man and I'm in a restaurant.
We were meeting for brunch in DC and I'm looking everywhere and I don't see anyone that looks
like the person.
And then I hear this, "Sandy, over here."
And I see this little, he was like a skeleton of himself.
He was dying of cancer.
He never told me he was sick.
He was so thin and he was so appreciative that I didn't like run away.
I stayed with him and not only did I stay with him for hours, I went to his house.
He lived right near the restaurant.
And he just was so appreciative to have human contact.
He hadn't been with anyone in so long and he just wanted to talk to someone.
And he cried.
I hugged him goodbye and he cried.
We both cried and he thanked me for not running away.
And you enjoyed your time with him.
Yeah.
He was so sweet, but he was so sick.
He was really sick.
Well, maybe this whole thing is really just about human beings connecting.
Even if you don't find the perfect man tonight, that you need to-
Yeah.
It's always interesting.
It's an interesting experience.
Have you ever sped date before?
Dated a lot of men?
Speed dating.
No.
Oh, I've done speed dating.
You have?
Yeah.
I had a year relationship with a famous author from speed dating.
How many minutes were you getting?
How many minutes were you getting when you were speed dating?
Five.
Huh.
Today you'll get three.
It was a good amount.
I can tell a lot in five minutes.
Okay.
Do you want us to bring the men out?
Sure.
Do you want to stand out?
No.
Now, where do you want to be?
Before they come out, I want you to know something.
Yeah.
We have your back.
Thank you.
We're going to be around.
Thank you.
I love it.
And we have the back of the men, too, so that they feel like we-
They're taken care of.
Yeah.
I think it's a-
I have the back of the men.
I feel like I have much more allegiance to my mother.
I'm going to have to break two arms today.
I'm going to be up there.
I'm going to go get them.
Pretty much all of them have really weird names.
Get the men.
For you to respond.
Oh, okay.
Let me entertain you.
I was going to say men are fun.
You keep saying human connection.
Because I think that's all it is.
It is.
It takes the pressure off.
Yeah.
It's your thing you've been saying.
That's it.
I got some friends.
Okay.
Hi, friends.
Hello.
Hey.
They're going to line up.
Are you guys going to line up?
Yeah.
They're-
Oh, wow.
Oh, sorry.
Oh, wow.
Hey, guys.
Hey.
Hey.
Oh, my God.
I'm not-
Yeah.
Hello.
I think a clap is good.
Let's go.
Let's go.
Let's go.
The fellas are in love.
I love the clap.
Wow.
I love it.
Fun, right?
Oh, my God.
Look at all these guys.
This is fun.
Yeah.
Certainly is.
Cool.
All right.
It's fun.
Oh, wow.

actually a retired university professor.
I spent 30 years as an academic, a few
years as an attorney before that, and
now I'm up in
Los Angeles, enjoying a little bit of
retirement and working with some people
in the business. So cool.
My name is Mark and kind of a brief
synopsis is I was a fitness expert.
I used to own health clubs and run mega
health clubs. I ran mega restaurants as
well. So I'm a gourmet guy.
What's mega?
Like big.
Yeah, like big and notable.
Let me say like big luxury.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
A-list actor restaurants.
Yeah.
Like really, like lots of responsibility and
never sleeping, you know?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
High stress, high stress.
But I'm also a wine expert.
I worked at a winery in Maui for five years, and
I'm a philosopher.
So I really like deep thinking and deep conversations.
I like that.
I like that, all of that.
Not that I'm here, I'm married.
My name is JP, I'm originally from South Texas.
I love my life, and I'm very grateful to be here.

I've been working in the fashion industry for 40 years, and I like to live life to the

I'm blown away by this group of men.
Having no idea what to expect myself, I got to tell you, I feel so proud of the men that
were brought here today.
I feel like you're going to get such a- I think you've done an excellent job.
I really do.
Well, if it doesn't work out, you can date one, Dave.
I want to hang out with all of you guys.
I really do feel like you guys are all authentic and nice, and it's so good to see men, other
than these two.
Okay, so what's next?
Yeah, what happens next?
What's next?
What's next?
What's next?
We forget.
I know what happens next.
We all fight for her attention.
I know exactly what happens next.
What's next is I'm going to walk you gentlemen back to that same room.
We'll talk for a second, and then one at a time, you will come out and you'll have a
speed date with Sandy.
Bring them on.
Hi.
Yes.
All right.
Hi, Sandy.
When my kids were growing up, I thought they were spoiled, and I wanted them to have something
different.
I'm in, coach.
Good luck.
Good luck.
Get out there.
I heard so much about you on the internet.
What?
They see me.
They see the tattoos, and they don't know that I'm a sociology professor.
Let me save you a lot of time.
I'm already prepared to go on another date with you.
Oh, I love it.
I love it.
Nice Jewish boy from West Covina.
So we just gaze into each other's eyes for a moment.
Oh, oh.
Want me to ask questions?
Whichever.
We can do back and forth.
I'm a musician.
I'm a retired occupational therapist.
Oh.
No grandkids yet.
One.
Do you have any?
Six.
Six already?
Wow.
Wow.
What are you looking for?
Looking for best friends.
You're describing my life.
What would you bring to somebody to enhance their life?
I bring everything.
I've been an entrepreneur since I was four years old when I was stealing chrysanthemums
out of my mother's garden.
How many more do we have?
I think there's like two or three more.
Something like that.
Oh, okay.
We're going through them.
I'm like.
Yeah.
I am a journalist by trade.
I used to do printing and graphics.
Now that I'm retired, I'm enjoying life.
No stress.
I was married for 16 years.
I got divorced like two years ago.
I made clothes for women.
I ran some big companies, and then I got injured, and I had some surgeries.
It's hard.
That's hard.
Do you like pina coladas?
Yes, I do.
Getting caught in the rain?
Getting to know a person very well, let them get to know you.
Yeah.
What's your favorite thing to cook?
Something that comes out absolutely delicious.
That's my favorite thing.
Any particular poem or work that you like, would you like me to recite to you?
I can do that and many other things.
I wanted to ask you.
Your son is like a superstar.
A success, and it's like the apple does not fall far from the tree.
How did you do it?
God, what is your superpower?
I'm curious.
I find it very odd that somebody that you love and care for can almost become enemy
at some times.
Time!
Time!
Time!
No, no, no, no!
Time!
No more!
Time!
No!
Thanks, Sandy.
Okay, Sandy.
These sticks.
These are--
Very cute.
These are--
These sticks represent--
Oh.
Oh.
represent a love to bloom. No, these sticks represent the sun and the flower.
The sun, the moon, and the stars. The sun, the moon, the stars, and new possibilities.
I'm going to go grab the men. Okay. I'm going to line them up. Very cute. Line up!
What are you, in the army? Attention! Come on, everybody. Come on up.
Line up! Oh, my God. I have to do it in front of everybody? Yeah. Oh, my God.
You can stand kind of wherever. The order doesn't, I don't, well, yeah, it doesn't matter.
Okay, I'll do it. Do we have everybody? Is there 10? Here we go. Here we go.
All right, and, uh, come on in.
First off, we found the best selection of men that Los Angeles has to offer.
I agree. So, I would like to start by saying, so if any of you don't get a flower,
hopefully somebody else out there will watch this, and you'll all be, uh, married.
I thought you were going to say, if you don't get a flower, I'll go out on a date with you.
No, I'm married. No, I'm married, but I can, I can vouch for all of you that you're all the cream of the crop.
Sandy, maybe come out here, because there's a couch dividing us and the men.
Dun, dun, dun, dun, dun.
So, Sandy, if you could stand here.
Well, that's too much pressure.
I want to say that it was really nice meeting all of you, so.
You too.
Nice meeting you as well.
Thank you.
And without further ado, Sandy, you are free to hand out your sunflowers one at a time, please.
Okay.
Oh!
Oh!
- Oh!
- All in.
- Yeah.
- Whoop, whoop, whoop!
- Whoa!

so we'll wait until this is done.
- Off camera, we sipped it.
On camera, we feel it.
That's why we're vibing right now.

- Can you turn the volume up if you can?
Can't hear it.
- Go on, let's go.
- No, oh, he's going the wrong way.
Turn around.
No, no, no, the other way, the other way.
No, no, no.
- He's leaving out the door.
- Other door, other door.
No, no, no.
- Other door.
- Other one.
Keep going, keep going.
- But there's a screen.
Watch out for the screen.
You have to open this. - Is this part of the test?
- That one and close, yeah, just close it behind you.
- No, no, no, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry, sorry.
- I was just testing.
- Hey, hey, buddy, Clive, Clive.
- Oh my goodness.
- Open that door.
- Clive, how are you?
Thank you for the flower.
- Sure, sure.
So tell me more about your life.
- About me.
- So are you, I can't remember if you're still working
or if you retired.
- I retired.
And I am, I'm an outdoors person.
I like kayaking, rock climbing.
climbing, sea kayaking, archery. I'm an artist. I like painting.
What kind of things do you paint?
I paint anything, actually.
Realistic?
Yes. I've done some abstract stuff, but the latest thing I did was my grandson
when he was -- he's now 12. That's my youngest. And he was 12 -- I mean, he's 12 now,
but I think he was like 7 or 8, and it was him and his longtime friend.
They were standing at a stream, and so I painted a picture of them.
He's got a big cowboy hat, and he's holding it behind his back.
And I wanted to call it, say, a man always takes his hat off for a lady.
What did you paint, and what kind of paint?
Acrylics. Yeah, so most of my work is --
in fact, all of my work is acrylics.
I've done some in pencil and paint and, you know, that kind of stuff.
Nice.
So tell me more about you, though.
I minored in art.
Oh, really?
In college, yeah. I majored in social work, minored in art.
So I'm artistic, creative.
Okay. Yes, yes, yes, yes.
I like decorating. I like raising plants, planting.
I did all the landscaping in all of my houses that I've lived in.
I like to pick the plants. I love succulents.
Like in California, they're so good.
I used to think I was landscaping, but I'm really not.
I studied landscape architecture and urban planning,
but never ended up into that field.
And tell me, sports -- you're into sports?
I don't do sports. I used to play --
He said that. He said, "She's not going to like me. I'm a sportsman."
I was going to say pickleball.
Uh-huh.
Power pickleball.
But I don't do tennis anymore because I have a -- my spine isn't that strong.
But I just have to be careful of falling.
So I can't do anything where you would fall, like pickleball.
So I'm not going to get you rock climbing, then?
No, no, definitely not.
I like to walk a lot. I walk every day.
Okay.
And not too straight an incline, but I like walking. It's fun.
It's nice. It clears your head, and it just feels good.
Yes.
If I don't walk, I'm upset. I need to walk once or twice a day.
So I feel like I should walk more, but I'm not walking that much.
I do Pilates. I do that twice a week.
And I do other machines that are resistance kind of training,
but just to help my muscles and my back.
My son's been trying to get me into yoga.
My youngest boy is a yoga instructor.
Oh, nice.
He tries to get me into yoga.
But I haven't quite done it yet.
Beginning is good.
But I once did an intermediate class once, and I dislocated my pelvis.
I had a pose where my legs were up, and someone straightened me out,
and it got me so out of whack that for like a year I had to do that.
She's got a sense of humor, isn't she? Oh, blimey.
She's a star.
She was lengthening one leg. It was so weird.
It got me off.
They had to change your pelvis.
I couldn't believe it happened from one class.
One of the things that I also do is I, besides occupational therapy,
because I'm retired, but I still see a few private clients.
I'm also a myofascial release therapist, so I do that type of stuff.
In fact, before I came here, I was working on a client
because she had fallen and hurt her back and those kinds of things.
Wow, that's interesting.
Does someone do it for you or no?
No.
In fact, I just had back surgery.
What kind of?
Well, I was playing racquetball.
See, that's racquetball.
Not pickleball. I was playing racquetball.
Oh, okay.
Racquetball is even faster.
Yes.
That's faster.
I like the challenge, and I was diving for a ball on the ground.
At my age, I probably shouldn't.
What happened?
I injured my hand.
I dislocated this knuckle.
Oh.
I had an old back injury, and so the disc just kind of moved.
What did they do in the surgery?
What did they have to do?
A laminectomy and fusion.
That's supposed to be painful.
Was it not that bad?
No, it was painful, but in terms of the short period of time in which --
I mean, my surgery was only two months ago.
That's it?
And you walked fine.
You're not even walking like there's anything?
No.
A month ago, I wasn't.
I was walking.
It was difficult, but it wasn't so much the surgery that I was painful from.
It was just the activity or lack of activity because the muscles then tighten up, and so
it gets really tight.
Did you have to have physical therapy a lot?
I still am seeing a physical therapist, but mostly just because I have just tight muscles,
muscles that I had been using before that I'm not using anymore because prior to this,
I was in the gym and trying to --
I'm trying to be fit.
I don't mind growing old.
Can I ask how old you are?
I'm 74.
I'll be 75 in January.
Wow, you look amazing.
Well, thank you.
Hi.
It's time.
I'm so sorry to tell you that the time is up.
It was nice talking to you.
It was nice talking to you also.
Can we talk about your current dating life?
Oh, no.
No?
It's bad.
No, no, you can.
There's nothing to talk about.
No, but you actively date.
I'm ready.
You're out there.
I do, but it's disappointing.
We need a good man for safety.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
It's disappointing.
We need a good man for Sandy.
A nice, good, smart --
Yes.
We need a nice, emotionally stable --
Why is it disappointing?
Because they're never up to standard.
They're just not nice.
And this is all through apps, right?
They don't follow through.
They're not good at dating.
No?
He has to not look like an old man.
He has to walk okay.
Walk okay.
Not stumble.
Oh, this is --
Not be off balance.
This is so --
Emotionally secure.
Yeah, she's starting her dream marriage.
Fun.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
I'm ready.
This is so exciting.
And --
Not stumbling.
Not stumbling.
Yes.
Yes.
I watched them walk from the car.
Yeah.
It's really upsetting.
You are going to be going on a walk with Sandy.
Oh, good.
So you guys can just walk about the place and have fun.
Okay.
You tell me when I'm ready.
Good luck.
All right.
Okay.
Thank you.
Enjoy your stroll.
Enjoy my stroll.
Wow.
What a pleasure.
Where are we -- I don't know.
I don't know.
I don't know.
I'm going to walk on this side.
Wonderful.
I think the walking might be a little hard.
Oh, wow.
They're holding hands.
Holding hands.
What should we talk about?
Whatever.
Well, you said you took --
The walking is so hard.
I'm going to walk in --
Art classes in college and stuff.
I took --
I'm minored in art.
I took design classes in college myself.
She forced the walk.
But --
Well, I got an awkward.
Yeah.
I was in graphic arts for many years, and then I decided to -- I love photography, so
I do a lot of --
I love photography.
I mean, I like looking at pictures and taking pictures.
I take so many pictures.
And taking them, but I'm not a great photographer.
I take a lot of pictures.
Me too.
And since I've been retired, I do --
This makes me anxious, them this close, doesn't it?
Isn't it?
Should we walk?
Walking and talking.
You don't have to force it, you guys.
Walking and talking.
Hey.
Don't make them force it.
Do whatever's natural.
Don't force it.
Whatever's natural.
We --
So --
Sandy, you guys don't have to walk.
Just do whatever you want to do.
Okay.
So we can --
I don't mind.
I don't mind here.
I'm comfortable with you anywhere.
Okay.
Aw.
Thank you.
So I lost my train of thought.
Oh.
You take pictures.
I love taking pictures.
And I had a gentleman who I used to work with in printing sales, was a professional photographer.
So whenever I take pictures, I send them to him and go, "Oh, great shot."
And he's also a chef, so I love cooking.
I'd send him pictures of what I made.
He'd send me pictures of that.
I love taking pictures of food and everything.
All the time.
Everything.
I take pictures of everything.
People get --
So --
He would say --
Why are you taking so many of food?
Like, I take pictures of everything I do.
I do.
It's like a diary, kind of.
I like pictures.
Yeah.
I do, too.
I'm very visual.
I --
Well, that's a bit visual, too.
It brings back the memory.
Yeah.
I mean, it just gets you --
And then you look at them and go, "Oh, man.
That was so cool."
I know.
My son says, "What do you do with all these pictures?"
I said, "I lay in bed at night, and I look at them.
It's just pleasing to me."
Well, when I take my pictures, they go, "Oh, my God, your pictures look like postcards."
Wow.
That's good.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I like waterfalls.
I like caves.
Yeah.
It's unusual.
Do you walk?
I walk every day.
I do like to walk.
Yeah.
I love --
I heard you walk because you had a bad back.
Well, I've got a little bit of a bad back, but I'm glad because now I'll be able to catch
you.
Chasing your coffee table.
Oh.
I'm going to be laying it down.
Unless you want to be caught, then.
What do you do?
What's your normal day like?
If I don't have anything planned, you know, I'll see something that I want to make, or
I'll pull up a --
If there's something that I want to make, I'll pull up on Pinterest, and I'll pull up
a recipe, and I'll make some --
What are your favorite kinds of foods?
Like what?
Well, like I think I told you, beef bolognese, that was just so delicious.
And I just recently made a corn chowder.
Oh, I love that.
And it was so delicious.
I'm on my third batch.
Wow.
It's just so awesome.
I mean, better than some that you get in the --
What are your -- do you have favorite restaurants?
What are some of your favorites?
Favorite restaurants.
Oh.
Probably none that you know.
I can't think of any offhand.
In Thousand Oaks, there's a place called Phil's.
It's a cute little restaurant-type bar, and yeah, it was nice.
And I'll try anything.
I like -- you know, I go through, and if there's something, I put it on my list for next time
to try and stuff like that.
that what if you could eat any kind of food though is i love sushi really yeah i go i go a lot with
my dad from take him out for sushi and he usually he was getting only the shrimp tempura to start
but now he gets i like the cooked better than he gets the uh the spicy tuna hand roll and then he
always says oh this is the best one he always has to tell the chef oh that one was so good
that's good he eats it i try to i try to feed him a little bit more because it's it's important for
him to eat more and more and stuff like does he live at home he doesn't know he's an assisted
living and uh between me and my brother and my sister-in-law we take very good care of him
actually my brother my sister-in-law is out of town so my brother says he's going to do something
he goes you want to take your father to uh chabad uh tomorrow night he goes if he wants to go i'll
take him yeah and they always say oh he's so cute
she passed away
yeah she passed away january of 2021 my dad was devastated because she did everything my mom was
such a sweet lady and they were close they had a very close she did everything for him so he was
like devastated and soon as um it's right at about covid time so as soon as we got our shots and we
were clear to go in may before all the kids got out of school in june i took them on a three-week
road trip he went we went to arizona
where we got to see my my nephew uh my first cousin's firstborn son lived out in this all in
the same area and a friend of from his from cuba that he hadn't seen in 20 30 years so that was
very fun so when i came i went to arizona utah and nevada when i came back i needed a vacation
so i drove back to my friend in uh utah he pulled a high school buddy pulled out a 32 foot trailer
we drove to missouri
where our other high school friend was had two other high school buddies come and we went boating
fishing and camping in missouri and arkansas that's fun that was awesome yeah so then i came
back and it was still summer and so then right after summer i took my dad camping we went along
the california coast all the way up to the oregon coast all the way up to astoria wow
and i i love talking i talk to people they go you're so friendly and all this and i i you know
i'm happy type person i'm whistling i'm singing um i'm in a bar waiting for my date and these people
next to me they go i heard you you're good you're good you got a good voice you're sick so you know
it's if you're if you're nice and you're friendly to other people i get i get it in return so what's
your dating life what's my dating life i'm very good i'm very particular i only like to date jewish
women i get it i get it open it up open it up it was it was a pleasure meeting hands off hands off
hands off hands off you rascal great time good toodles great dig it okay i have to go get ready
you look beautiful thanks all right good luck buddy i've had two valiant men kind of lead the
way for me so thank you so then you should be you should be smooth sailing sandy your next date is
going to be um over there a fireside chat okay how do i do okay i appreciate that oh they sent
you up okay we're gonna leave wait it's okay you go upstairs can we have everyone exit the room
so are you drinking wine what are you having no it's coke diet coke a bit of wine so i want to
tell you one thing is that um i'm genuinely appreciative that you picked me so i really
want to thank you for that you're welcome so i'm you know i i do like to ask questions
as well you know that was kind of like my pre-enter is a relationship thing is really
important to me and it's also what somebody is looking for within a relationship so i loved my
wife i feel like the experience of it made me such a better man i don't think that i truly understood
what relationship was until being with her and it's a learning curve that you go through
because i was very independent soul uh kind of a serial
dater prior to it and it was a whole bunch of things that had to kind of rewire inside me
but when it clicked it was an amazing thing and for our relationship to end it was devastating
for me like emotionally it's a death it's like it's very hard and you know we didn't have children
so i mean i feel like that really adds to it a little easier but because you're you're still
bound with one another right you can't get away right and and like you were saying though it's
kind of cool that it brought you back together and that you can be friends yeah and that's
what took a long time and i understand 15 years time is time is a big part of it and that has
always been my greatest disappointment that somebody that i love so dearly that was such a
deep-seated friend of mine and this kind of leads me you know one once i get to it with relationship
and dating is the friendship and for for for us in our seasoned ages is that um friendship and how i
spend time with somebody i am i don't want to use the word heady you know but i'm kind of a thinking
person i had even referred to that i'm like a philosopher and it's because i really like life
i like to really like analyze life i like to enjoy it and experience it being a corporate guy there
was a point in my life where i decided that rather than just being in this box of always making money
and always striving and very competitive and always trying to win was when am i going to truly
experience life working 18 hours a day seven days a week kind of takes you out of the realm of being
a person yeah and so i think that's one of the things that i've learned over the years is that
i popped out of that and i started doing things like working these six-month gigs where i travel
anywhere i was in skagway alaska private islands and i would work you know and i was a rest i'm a
restaurant guy so i would work running restaurants which was really unique but with a lot of work
beautiful hard work it's so much work so many hours yeah i always like to know one of two
things what is your most favorite book that you've read or your most favorite movie be here now
it was a book or maybe the prophet the prophet um that's khalil gabran yeah um
in the be here now is it timothy leary like who wrote that sat guru okay dr herb albert i don't
know that one um and in the movie yes but movies i'm i see a lot of movies um i like european movies
a lot but in indie movies not necessarily big production movies um i loved kramer versus kramer
that's a great throwback and it really turns of endearment turns of endearment another great one
to go to and i've just always felt like you you get sophie's choice another great one like really
outstanding you know like that is really something so i'm a real movie person schindler's list
which is an amazing amazing movie you know and so moved by that like i've watched that movie at
times yeah i always try to revisit that because i think it says a lot to me another thing and i
appreciate that so thank you another thing that's very important to me is i in a relationship i think
part of what about being with somebody is being able to spend time in silence yeah and be comfortable
with that definitely do you feel the same way yes i don't need to be talking too much i don't
want each of us to be with our friends but spend time together too totally understood both not give
up yourself your own identity you know it's i think you have to remain who you are in the
relationship and then be someone together too right it's it's important and i lost myself in
my marriage i was not a person at the end i had to put myself back together i understand it was
really hard and do you feel like you've accomplished that oh yeah oh yeah it's been so many years
well i had a i had a 10-year relationship after my 23 years so and then i've had other ones two years
three years a year you know just different over the year but nothing i haven't had anything in
like three years nothing i mean i go for a coffee date but then i don't want to see them again so
it's just it's very hard to meet someone that i want to spend my time with it's it's just i i've
you know we're just kind of getting it started and i appreciate that answer so
great to get nice talking to you i appreciate it mom didn't you once date a man with a boomerang
penis yes what is it it's a condition he had cronies disease cronies no peronies like the beer
p with a p it curves it grows like to the side it doesn't straighten anymore so how does he
hey you gotta finesse
you know what
it starts it's a normal penis and then slowly it starts going like this and then and then by the
time she was dating him at the end it was fully facing inward no then he had difficult but anyway
come on right this way good luck clive once more once more we will lead you straight to your
table where there happens to be a beautiful woman waiting yeah ain't that the case
hello again sandy hello thank you
good to see you again cheers cheers oh i'm so sorry to interrupt here can i get you guys anything to drink other than what you're drinking
- I'm okay for the time being, thank you.
- Okay. - Thank you.
- I hardly have a drink,
but it just sort of like felt celebratory.
- Well, and before I interrupt anymore,
I just want to say that these specials,
we don't have any, but we can cook anything
that you guys want, just tell us.
This is my trainee.
- We can make, we have everything here.
- We have everything, so we'll give you guys a minute
to look over the menu that doesn't exist,
so just think of whatever you want and we will be back.
- Okay.
Are you divorced, have you been married, what's--
- No, certainly to be quite frank,
I'm a very proud person and I find L.A. very difficult
and I'm sitting in L.A. very difficult for a place to live
because humankind is very different here
from what I used to.
It's a lot about me, me, me and a lot about,
when I go into any situations, what I can do for you first,
'cause if I can't do anything for you,
then what's the point of going on?
- What's the longest relationship you've had?
- Five years, she was a Virgo.
She is a Virgo.
And interior design, yeah.
- How long ago was it?
- We, that was about 10 years ago.
We're still friends and I've made sure of that
and I don't burn bridges, you know,
we're still very good friends.
She's getting married to some man, I don't know who he is,
but they're doing very well.
But it had to be done 'cause it just wasn't quite,
there was a, I like a lot of, let me give you my,
let me give you my reasoning here.
Thank you very much indeed.
You're very kind.
- Thank you.
- Absolutely.
And we're ready to take your order whenever.
- Have you guys had a chance to think about
what you might like to order?
- I don't want any, I'm eating popcorn.
- Pasta would be great.
- Pasta?
- No, you're joking.
It's all right, don't worry.
I'm fine.
- Nothing?
- I've got all the nutrition I need right here.
- You're hungry a little bit?
We can whip something up.
- No, no, it's all right.
You're very kind.
- Nothing at all?
- No, no, nothing.
- We'll see.
- We'll see.
- And I was saying to the guys in there,
I'm looking at you and going,
actually, let me tell you a little bit about yourself
that you didn't know, okay?
I was looking at you going, you know what,
she doesn't like LA, because yeah, she's very disappointed.
And I know how you feel,
because I'm in the same sort of situation.
I don't date anymore, I don't see anybody.
The only person I hang out with is my business partner.
- What's the business?
- We're involved in gourmet foods,
gourmet food distribution.
We're developing a line of pasta sauces called
Mordimi, which is Italian for bite me.
And the tagline is an Ambrosian line of pasta sauces
passed down from Italian antiquity.
So we're working on that.
She just called me a moment ago.
She's a very tough, hardcore Jewish lady.
And I respect--
- Did you meet her here, or did you?
- She's a private person,
so I don't really want to talk too much about her.
But my thing is, my acid test is two things.
One thing I missed about you was,
I'm not seeing the snuggle factor.
Now I see it.
Yeah, she's got it.
And then, wouldn't my business partner like her?
Because she doesn't like anyone.
Oh yeah.
Absolutely.
So it's important to involve yourself with anyone.
She's potentially coming into, not just me,
but a group of people that I consider very exclusive.
- Right.
- And they'll probably be the same as you,
because like your son said to me as I was walking down,
he whispered to me, "No monkeying around with you."
Because I've got a sense of humor, right?
- Yeah.
- I think you're missing something about your mother,
because she takes crap from nobody.
- No, I don't take any crap.
- Any crap, sorry.
- No, I did that long enough.
Mm-mm, no crap anymore.
- So, I mean, asking you about books and plays
and this, that, and the other, what's the point?
There's a forest out there.
You can't see the wood for that.
It's very difficult.
- Very.
- But I heard that you like European films.
- I do.
- I like foreign films.
I'm an expert on that. - I do.
- I could introduce you to a world of brilliance.
Have you seen any lately that you like?
Any movies?
- There was, again, there are so many,
but if you want to look at "Indian,"
you can go to Deeper Meta, the trilogy, "Water, Fire, Earth."
Water is exquisite.
It'll break your heart.
Cyrano de Bergerac is my favorite film,
with Gérard Depardieu.
It has to be in French.
And it's about a man who has so much vanity.
- He has such a big head.
- Yes, he did have a big head.
- He has a big head.
- Yeah.
He plays the perfect Cyrano.
You know the story of Cyrano?
It's based on a real person.
- I don't remember the story about--
- The story is that Cyrano is a real person.
He was brilliant at everything.
He was courageous, a great swordsman.
He was poetic.
He was a great writer.
He was admired by everybody.
The problem with Cyrano is that his enormous vanity
and his big nose, and he can't get over that.
So he thinks he'll never fall in love because of it.
And as far as manifestation is concerned,
what you believe actually happens, right?
So he believed he would never meet the love of his life.
So he dies alone in the arms of the woman that he loved,
who only at the moment that he dies,
realizes that it was him that he was in love,
she was in love with, rather than Christian,
who was the beautiful dimwit.
A bell is no bell until it rings.
A song is no song until it sings.
The love in your heart was not put there to stay
because the love that you have is meant to be given away.
- I'm not agreeing with that, but it came to my mind.
Reciprocal.
Hmm. Entities. Are you enjoying your coke? It's okay. It's giving me a little caffeine because I feel like I'm fading a little. I got up really early. I didn't, I think I was excited. You know. Last night. The sort of thing that I got while observing, I said, if I sat with Sandy, I don't think there would be much to say because there would be a lot of synergy.
Hi guys. I have your food here. Oh man. Outstanding. And time. No more. Time. I haven't eaten a thing all day long. I've been captivated by you and all your production. I'll take a little bite myself. Thank you.
Oh, let me take a rest now and talk about Helix. Yeah, I love Helix. Why? Well, I like sleeping on them. Yeah, why? Because they're comfortable. Yeah. And they help your back. That's what I was going to say. Yeah.
Because I actually have back pain. I know. I know. You do. Well, I should say had. Yeah, you're on the road to recovery. Not just because of Helix, because of a lot of things. Hard work, but I think. Colonoscopy. I think Helix has something to do with it. You don't have to say that. Okay, well, we might. But it's okay. I got a colonoscopy, but Helix can't fix those cuts. Helix can't fix the cuts, but they can help you sleep better. They can align my spine.
Go to helixsleep.com slash FKS for 20% site wide. That's helixsleep.com slash FKS.
Is Benny still here? No, he left. Oh, okay.
Okay.
He left. He had a big engagement. How do you feel? Are you able to pick one? No? You couldn't even pick a winner. If there was a gun to your head right now, you couldn't pick a winner?
Why not?
Sandy, you are a dream. Really? This is the verdict. You guys are all so charming. I truly mean it.
Okay, Sandy. I'll take you. Sandy, I would like to talk to you.
I want to say that I cannot make a decision because I really enjoy all of you so much, and I want to know if you'd be okay.
I'm open to getting together another time. Not all together. Not as a group. Not all together. Not all together.
Basically, she wants to go on a date with all of you. All together. Okay. Thank you. No, not all together. Wow. Extended. We'll get to spend time. One more date. With a greater amount of time.
I would really like that. It would just be fun. I would be delighted, personally. This is the best outcome. You will shoot all of this. There will be no cameras. We'll get your information, which we probably already have.
No cameras. No cameras. I think that would be wonderful. That's intriguing. Yeah. Absolutely.
Well, is everybody else cool? Yeah. I'm mom. I'm game. All right.
So, let me guess. Not on camera. Yeah. We won't be there with you guys. You guys get to do your own.
But you're going to accompany us, or we're just. No, we're not company. No. One-on-one. One-on-one. It's the real deal.
Okay. Yeah. That sounds great. Yeah, yeah. Pick me. Pick me.
You'll just have us. Yeah. This decision has yet to be determined.
Yeah. We'll get your information, and we'll plan it separately. It will be off camera. This is like for real now. You guys can go do. For real.
For real. You guys can go do your own thing. Absolutely delightful. That sounds great.
