Teen Serial Killer Fangirl Who Became A Murderer

For as long as serial killers have been making headlines across the entire world, there has been young women obsessed with them. From the trial of Ted Bundy, where courtrooms were flooded with young girls, some even dressed in a similar fashion to his victims to try and get his attention. Every time he turns around, I kind of get that feeling, "No, no, you know, he's gonna get me mixed." But yet you're fascinated by it. Very, very. Not afraid of him. He just doesn't look like the type to kill somebody. He tried to imagine yourself in his place and to see how he's feeling looking at the pillows with blood stains and everything. If he really did it or not. Why do you do it? I don't know. To the night stalker Richard Ramirez, who received so much fan mail and love letters while sitting on death row that he even ended up marrying one of his fans while behind bars. Everyone makes them look so bad, you know, but I know that he's a nice person, 'cause I've met him and I know. He's convicted of 13 murders. I know. To most recently, with Wade Wilson, who received thousands of marriage proposals from women across the entire world following his heavily publicized death row trial. The psychology behind why so many young women become obsessed with and romanticize these horrible men who commit these violent, brutal crimes has always been something that has baffled me. If these young girls can be common-vaccuated with men that commit such evil acts, what does that say about them? Do they have the capacity to commit violent crimes? Well, in the case I'm gonna be sharing with you today, the answer is yes. This young girl was so obsessed with serial killers that she not only wanted to become one, but she wanted to become the most prolific serial killer in history and murder hundreds of men. My name is Brianna and I'm hot on the case. Sarah M was born in 2002 in Switzerland, but when she was a toddler, her entire family moved to Germany where the rest of this case takes place. Something I was not aware of before I saw her covering true crime is that Germany actually has extremely strict privacy laws when it comes to crimes in their country. So there's actually a lot that we do not know about this case because it was never released to the public. I don't know Sarah's last name for her exact date of birth or really much about her childhood. It has been reported that Sarah had a really good childhood and that her parents were very loving and supportive. No red flags in her upbringing that we typically see in killers or at least none that we are aware of. Sarah had a great group of friends. She got good grades in school. She had a pet bunny that she absolutely adored and overall seemed like a really normal kid. But as Sarah entered her teenage years, there was a switch. At first it was normal teenage rebellion stuff. She was acting out. She had an attitude. She was trying to get a reaction out of her parents. She was wearing darker clothes heavier makeup. She was listening to a different kind of music. She was hanging out with a different group of kids than she was hanging out within middle school. But very quickly this behavior just started to get more and more concerning. At first then it was just Sarah was skipping school or getting in trouble with school or as being mean to the other kids in her class or breaking dress code. But then it became very apparent that Sarah was saying and doing things for attention or to get a rise out of people. Sarah started telling the kids in her class that she was a prostitute in like a bragging sort of way and it's extremely likely that this was a lie because at this point Sarah was still a virgin. Sarah was also smoking weed in high school but then around 16 she started dabbling in even harder drugs like she was taking ecstasy a lot. And she was even arrested at 16 years old for drug possession and it's reported that Sarah was suffering with depression and suicidal ideation after being arrested. She started self-harming a lot and then one day her mom actually found that Sarah had a rope hanging from the ceiling of her closet like she was planning to bring an end to her own life which was extremely concerning for her parents and it was also really scary so it was decided that her parents would admit Sarah into a psychiatric facility. Sarah was in an out of this hospital for the next year and while she was in treatment Sarah actually befriended another one of the patients but then this friendship got really dark and Sarah actually tried to manipulate this other patient into ending their life. Sarah's doctors said that Sarah was emotionally disturbed and then she was diagnosed with borderline personality disorder. If you are unfamiliar with borderline personality disorder common signs are intense mood swings and unstable sense of self, impulsive actions, chronic emptiness and a deep fear of abandonment that leads to turbulent relationships. I do want to make it known that most people that are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder are not violent in any way but I've always been someone that has been extremely interested in the psychology behind killers their childhood the different things that happened to them when they were younger and since we don't have any background information on Sarah I decided to dive a little bit deeper into this since this is the only psychology aspect to this case before Sarah goes on to become a killer. Like I said before people that are diagnosed with borderline personality disorder are not inherently violent but killers and serial killers with borderline personality disorder typically kill because of this abandonment and because of rejection. This is something that I found extremely interesting because as we will see later in this case rejection and abandonment is the reason according to Sarah herself the reason that she goes on to become a killer. I was really interested to see if there were any other known serial killers that had borderline personality disorder and the only two that I could really find were Aileen Warnos who is probably the most well known female serial killer and Jeffrey Dahmer but unlike with Sarah Aileen and Jeffrey Dahmer were both diagnosed with other personality disorders in addition to borderline personality disorder. In Jeffrey Dahmer's case he was diagnosed with schizophrenia personality disorder and an impulse control disorder and Aileen Warnos was diagnosed with anti-social personality disorder along with borderline personality disorder. So often when I'm covering these cases I tend to fall down rabbit holes and I did in this case I was interested to see what is the most common psychiatric condition for serial killers to have and turns out the most common psychiatric conditions among serial killers is anti-social personality disorder which is often characterized as psychopaths or sociopaths as well as narcissistic personality disorder and I also know that mental health is something that is extremely misunderstood especially in the true crime community and during my research I actually found out that people were blaming Sarah's borderline personality disorder for the reason that she went on to become a killer which could not be more wrong. In fact research indicates that people with borderline personality disorder are actually more likely to be victims of violence than perpetrators of violence. That was my little rabbit hole for this week. At 17 years old Sarah was released from the hospital for the final time but out of hospital Sarah's behavior and her interest got even more disturbing. For one thing Sarah became oddly interested in Nazis and she would actually draw the swatzaka symbol on her arms which is terribly disgusting no matter where you live but you need to remember that Sarah lives in Germany and it's actually very illegal to draw that symbol anywhere considering the history with that symbol and with Germany. Sarah also became obsessed with serial killers and this wasn't just an interest in true crime this teenage girl idolized and romanticized some of the most brutal and infamous serial killers of all time. It might have started out as a morbid curiosity like Sarah really liked to share some of her theories on different infamous serial killers and true crime cases on her social media accounts like she was super into the Jack the Ripper case which is an unsolved serial killer case and the reason that Sarah believed that it was unsolved was because that Jack the Ripper was actually a woman but it really did become her becoming obsessed with different serial killers. She actually had crashes on some of these serial killers more specifically she was obsessed with and would be like in love with Ted Bundy and the night stalker Richard Ramirez. She had pictures of both of them covering her bedroom walls and she even had a photo of Ted Bundy as her cell phone wallpaper and then Richard Ramirez was her phone's lock screen. For you and me someone romanticizing and becoming obsessed with these terrible serial killers is so hard to fathom but for as long as the media has been covering serial killers there has always been serial killer groupies. We saw it like I said the beginning of this episode with Ted Bundy Richard Ramirez and most recently with Wade Wilson. Women in California breathed a sigh of relief when this mass murderer was caught, but now in a bizarre twist. Many are begging for his attention and his affection. Mike Watkes has the story of the death row Romeo. And Cindy, you care for this man? Yes, I do. That's just one side of him. But that's a dreadful side. Well, everybody has a dreadful side. Everyone? I would say, majority of people have. It was good and it was a bad side. There are many who would look at Richard Ramirez in the eye and say, he's the face of evil. And yet you look at him and you see the man of your dreams. Who needs glasses here? I can't help the way the world looks at him. They don't know him the way I do. And I was extremely interested, again, to see what the psychology behind this is. And turns out, girls becoming obsessed with serial killers and becoming these serial killer groupies is primarily due to a psychological phenomenon called a hybrisophilia, a condition where an individual is sexually or romantically attracted the people that commit heinous, brutal, violent crimes. His trial has attracted a steady and unusual stream of spectators, Robin Lloyd of Station WTVJ reports. The trial has drawn women from as far away as Seattle, where Bundy is suspected of other sex murders. Why is this happening? According to one psychiatrist, it is a mixture of fear, intrigue, and in particular, sexual attraction. And so, yes, I do think this is, in an underlying sense, a sexual attraction using that word very broadly for the moment. But there is no question, but what violence does quicken the pulse of many people and certainly of young women? Ted had his gallery of women nearly every day in court and they would send him messages. They would try to get his attention. They would try to catch his eye. And then later, when he was on death row, he got tons of mail from them. They would send him nude pictures of themselves, erotic stories, their fantasies of being with him. It's a very bizarre syndrome. And I, frankly, had a loss to explain it. As far as I can tell, these women and girls are not more likely to commit violent crimes, unlike what we see in young boys and young men that become obsessed with serial killers, especially very recently in a lot of recent true crime cases I've covered. Whenever it's a young man under the age of, let's say, 22 years old when you dive into their background, there's always a obsession with different serial killers and different school shooters. But with young women obsessed with serial killers, they are not more likely to commit violent crimes as far as the research shows. But that was not the case for Sarah. This disturbing interest that Sarah had became this very deep fascination where she wasn't just admiring these serial killers. She actually wanted to become one. She stated that she wanted to become the most prolific serial killer in all her history and she wasn't hiding it either. But more on that later in this case. Also around this time, at 17 years old, Sarah gets into her first serious relationship. She gets her first boyfriend, a boy named Leon. The two fell very hard for each other. They were absolutely head over heels for each other. They spent pretty much every waking moment together or texting each other. They dated for about two years. The relationship did become sexual and this is when Sarah would lose her virginity and she became very attached and very obsessed with Leon. Also after having sex, it's reported that Sarah became obsessed with sex as well. It would not surprise me if Sarah had some sort of addictive personality because from the very limited information that I have on her, it seems that she becomes interested in a certain thing and then it's all that she can talk about and it seems to control her life. In her relationship, Sarah would get very, very angry and aggressive. She definitely had a short fuse. Leon was aware that Sarah had an interest in serial killers but at this point was unaware of the full extent of this interest that his girlfriend had. Towards the end of their relationship, Sarah was interested in experimenting more in the bedroom and according to Leon, she wanted to have really, really rough sex but like it was more than that, it was violent. She would ask Leon to be hard with her, rough with her and it would continuously escalate the violent requests that Sarah had in the bedroom. She would want Leon to choke her, hit her, harder and harder and this wasn't something that Leon was comfortable with or really into, he was doing it just because Sarah wanted it. And it got to a point where Leon just stopped being comfortable with it all together. The relationship had gotten really intense and he was thinking that he's really, really young for a relationship like this. So it was when Sarah was 19 years old that Leon broke up with her and this breakup destroyed Sarah. She was extremely distraught over this breakup and at first Sarah was very, very sad. Then she got really mad and then she wanted to get back at Leon for breaking up with her. She started telling mutual friends lies about Leon to try and ruin his reputation. She was telling people that all of these violent things that they did was actually non-consensual and in fact Leon was a woman beater and a rapist. But I'm guessing it's because Sarah was known to not really always tell the truth. People did not believe her and this is when she started planning new ways to get back at Leon and to hurt Leon and what that was was that Sarah wanted to kill him. And this is only one week after the breakup so things are spiraling really, really fast. And this is when this obsession that she had with serial killers and wanting to one day become this prolific serial killer herself really comes into play. Sarah goes out shopping with a friend one day and she has this friend purchase a large knife for her. It was a 12 inch camping knife. And this was going to be Sarah's weapon of choice as a serial killer. It's really not common for women and girls to become killers or serial killers but when they do they typically choose methods of killing that are less direct than methods that men choose. Like women serial killers are more often than not choosing to poison their victims where men are more likely to kill face-to-face with a gun or a knife or even with their bare hands. But guns are not very easy to get in Germany which explains why Sarah did not choose a gun. But I think it's very telling that she did decide to go with a knife. After securing her weapon, Sarah is now in the research and planning portion of her becoming a serial killer. She Googles different things. She Googles how long does it take to die when you stab someone in the neck? How long does it take for someone to die when you stab them in the lung? She even Googles what is the best way to become a serial killer along with researching other infamous prolific serial killers that they get out how they got away with their crimes for so long and how they were ultimately caught. She also Googles which serial killer has the most confirmed victims which brought her to Harold Shipman, a doctor from the UK that murdered his patients. It is believed that Harold Shipman murdered 250 people in about 30 years. And after learning that fact, Sarah actually texts one of her friends that the worst serial killer in history killed 250 people and she was going to kill more than that. She wanted to become the most prolific serial killer in modern history. Sarah knows that she wants to murder men. She wants to kill men that she sees as bad people, men that remind her of her ex-boyfriend Leon. I'm not sure when and where and why the switch was for Sarah because even before the breakup, she had this interest in serial killers and would talk about becoming a serial killer one day, but after Leon breaks up with her, then she wants to murder Leon. So then she starts planning to murder Leon, but then somewhere along the way decides that she just wants to kill any man. So this brings us to April 28th, 2021 about roughly one month after Leon breaks up with Sarah. Sarah plans that she will meet and learn men off of dating apps and these are the men that she would kill. She creates profiles on dating apps such as Badu and my sugar daddy and because she wants to lure and kill men that she sees as bad men in her profile, she lists herself as a 19 year old bisexual virgin looking for a good time who has a strong interest in BDSM. So with a profile like that, I'm sure you can imagine the kind of men that were interested in matching, messaging and meeting her. I'm absolutely not trying to victim blame here. I really want to make it clear that that is not my intent at all, but I think everyone can agree that there is a certain kind of guy that would be intrigued by a dating profile of a young girl claiming to be a virgin looking for a good time with an interest in BDSM. Sarah does upload her own photos to this dating app. She's not very smart person. She wants to be this prolific serial killer that never gets caught and kills more victims than any serial killer in history ever has. And she intends to lure her victims off of this dating app, But then she uploads pictures. herself to this dating app without thinking that if these men start going missing and these men start winding up dead that they'll look at their phones and see that the last person that they contacted with and the last person that they plan to meet up with would be photos of herself. She doesn't use her real name though in this dating profile. Instead she uses the name Domina Cherry and Domina is apparently the German word for Domina Tricks and immediately after putting up her profile Sarah starts getting a lot of matches and messages over the three days that Sarah is on these dating apps. She is messaged by 224 different men and amongst these men were a guy named Sam. Sam messages her asking to meet and they plan to meet up on May 3rd 2021. And then there was a guy named Mirad. Mirad's first message to Sarah was asking when they were meeting. Sarah said that she was free any day after May 3rd because May 3rd was the day that she planned to meet up and murder Sam. Mirad then asks Domina Cherry if they will have car sex when they meet up and Sarah told him that she was down for anything but she did have an isolated cabin in the middle of the woods that they could go to. Mirad tells Sarah that he's actually a teacher. I don't know what grade I wish I did. I feel like that might change something but I guess not really. And then he tells Sarah that he's into really unusual sex. And then the two make plans to meet up on May 4th the day after she plans to meet up with Sam. Sarah also chats with a guy named Anthony who says that he's looking for a girl that will dominate him and they plan to meet up on May 5th. So Sarah is planning these meetups and these murders because she is planning to kill each of these guys right after each other. May 3rd, 4th and May 5th. She actually tells a friend that she's planning to meet up and kill a different guy every single day. And when she's actually texting her friends about this, she says that she's going to meet up all these guys. She's going to kill all these guys and she's going to slit their throats and watch them die. Sarah then starts messaging with a guy named Zayad. He sends her a message on May 1st, 2021 at 10.53am that read hello. Good morning. Sarah says hello. What are you looking for here on Badu? Zayad replies, well I'm a single man so I'm looking for anything really. Sarah asks him if he wants to meet up along with a bunch of kissing emojis and Zayad says yes of course. I'm not sure what it was about Zayad for Sarah because even though Sarah has these plans to meet up and murder Sam, Murad and Anthony later that week on May 3rd, 4th and 5th, when she starts chatting with Zayad on the morning of May 3rd, Sarah decides that he will be her first victim. She asks if he has a car and he says he does, so they plan to meet up later that exact same night at 8pm and he would pick her up at a bus stop that was near her house and then they would go to Sarah's cabin in the middle of the woods. And sadly again, I do not know much about Zayad because of the strict privacy laws in Germany. I don't even know his last name. It is reported that he was either 38 or 39 years old and that he grew up in Iraq and he moved to Germany in 2014 so he had been living in Germany for about four years. He had five other brothers and he really loved soccer, watching and playing it. And according to sources, Zayad got on these dating apps in the spring of 2021 because he was 39 years old and he was ready to settle down, find a nice lady, get married and start a family and have children. And again, I'm really not trying to victim blame anyone in this case and I truly hope that everyone understands that that is not my intention. But I know that if I don't reference something, that the comments will and I'm hoping that maybe I can give my own insight into something before the comments take off with it. Do I believe that Zayad was interested in settling down and starting a family? Sure. I can definitely believe that that was something he wanted. Do I think that that was all he was looking for? No. If that's what he was looking for, I don't think that he would be messaging with a 19 year old girl 20 years younger than him. Their age gap was literally more years than she had even been alive at this point and just based off of her profile, it literally states that she's looking for a good time. So maybe Zayad was also just looking for a good time when he messaged Domina Cherry and maybe he was also interested in finding the love of his life. I don't know. I know that a lot of people will have really strong opinions on the fact that he messaged a 19 year old girl as a almost 40 year old man and you're allowed to have those opinions and are allowed to express them. I always personally tried to lean on the side of respecting victims in true crime cases, not only for them, but also for their family members. I would hate for a family member of a victim to come onto my video and think that I'm bashing that person. So I just wanted to get that out of the way before we continue in to the rest of this episode. Sarah believed that because Zayad messaged her that he deserved the death penalty and she would become the judge, jury, and the executioner. So after making plans and meet up with Zayad for a later that night, Sarah starts making even more Google searches. She looks up how to hide a body. How long does it take for someone to bleed out after you stab them? Sarah also gets a visit later that afternoon by her ex-boyfriend Leon. The stressor, the whole reason that Sarah has even fallen off the deep end and is now about to murder someone later that night was all because of this rejection that she felt after Leon broke up with her. Leon decided to come over that day because he wanted to pick up the rest of his things from Sarah's place. And because Leon was the victim that Sarah wanted to kill all along with him standing in her home, she nearly took out her knife and killed him right then and there before leaving to go on her date. The only thing that saved Leon's life was literally because he was scared for his life. This is one of the times I wish I knew more information on this case because I know that there's something here but I just don't know it. But whatever was going on, Leon was terrified of his ex-girlfriend and he had a feeling that she wanted to hurt him. So before going over to her house to pick up the rest of his things, Leon actually asked one of his friends if he would come with him. That friend stayed in the car and Leon told him that if he tugged on the curtains of the house, that that was a sign that something was wrong. And if he did that or if he didn't come back out in 10 minutes, then Sarah was doing something to him. So that was the only reason that Leon left Sarah's house with his life that day. After Leon leaves around 7.30 pm, about 30 minutes before going to meet up with Zayad, Sarah calls one of her closest friends, Franziska. And she doesn't answer so Sarah leaves a voicemail. She says in this voicemail, "I'm going out now. I'm going to kill my first. I'm excited. Wish me luck." She also sends Franziska a message on the messaging platform WhatsApp where she says "about to go all natural born killers wish me luck." Sarah also films a video and sent it to her friend of her dancing around her bedroom, really excited and really happy with that 12-inch knife in the waistband of her pants. Franziska sees all of this and she's really confused and she actually ends up being able to reach out to Sarah before Sarah leaves and meet up with Zayad. And all she says is, "How do you plan on doing this?" Sarah messages back, "The plan is for me to say, 'Hey man, I have a surprise for you, close your eyes and then I'm going to stab him.' And when Franziska sees all of these things that her friend is saying to her, she starts absolutely freaking out. But not because her friend is telling her that she's about to murder someone. She's not panicking because someone is about to get killed. No, Franziska is freaking out because she's scared that she will get in trouble." So she makes a Google search of her own and she writes "Can you be punished if you know about an attempted murder?" Well the answer is yes, yes you can. But still, Franziska doesn't do anything. She doesn't call anyone or report it and if she had maybe things would have ended up a lot differently. At 8 p.m., Zayad picks Sarah up at their planned pickup spot and he starts driving. In the car, Zayad is making small talk and Sarah is heavily flirting with them while also giving Zayad directions to her remote cabin in the middle of the wilderness. A cabin that did not exist. Just a complete lie, if it was not obvious, she just wants an excuse to learn these men into the middle of nowhere. So after about a half an hour, Sarah instructs Zayad to turn off the main paved road with other people on it onto a more isolated dirt road leading into the middle of the woods. They take this road for a little while until Sarah asks Zayad to pull over. Reports say that the two got out of the car and then Sarah takes out her phone and she hands it over to Zaya and tells him to look at something on her phone. This is just a distraction. So this is when Sarah takes out her knife and she plunges it into Zaya's neck. Zaya screams out in pain, shock and terror. His neck is gushing blood and he starts fighting back. He's fighting Sarah. Sarah is panicking because she didn't plan for him to fight back. She thought that she would just stab him in the neck and he would immediately just fall down on the ground and die. This was completely unexpected. So she just panics and just starts running away. Zaya is trying to apply pressure to his wound to try and stop the bleeding. He also starts stumbling in the opposite direction of where Sarah just ran away because he wants to try and find the main road where he just came from to try and get some help. He eventually does get to a main road and a car does happen to drive by in that exact moment and pulls over to help Zaya. And it just so happens that one out of the two people in this car was a nurse. So the nurse tries to give Zaya medical attention while they wait for the ambulance that the other person calls to come and get there. Zaya is rushed to the hospital in critical condition and in the hospital, Zaya actually falls into a coma. Meanwhile, Sarah, again, only 19 years old, it shocks me how young she is. She has just stabbed someone and has taken off running on foot from a crime scene. Along the way, she loses both of her shoes. Her hair is a mess. Her clothes are a mess. The tights that she's wearing are all completely ripped up from running through the woods at night and she's covered in Zaya's blood. So just pictured this scene, okay? You have a teenage girl covered in blood. Her clothes are ripped up and she just stumbles like that into a nearby town. People are staring at her. I'm sure they're confused and they're scared. And Sarah is just whispering to herself, "I'm a killer. I'm a murderer." So the police are called, obviously. And if you've put yourself in those police officers' shoes, you see this very young-looking girl. She's covered in blood and her clothes are all messed up. You'd probably think that she was the victim of some sort of crime. But then she's saying to herself, "I'm a killer. I just killed someone. I'm a murderer." So the police actually asked Sarah if she was attacked and if she had to, I don't know, kill somebody in self-defense. And that's when Sarah says, "No, I just stabbed someone. I wanted to kill them and watch them die." It's so cold. So Sarah was arrested, 30 minutes after she stabbed Zaya. And I'm absolutely not trying to make a joke out of something so serious at all, but I definitely see the irony and the fact that this was a young girl who thought she was going to become the most prolific serial killer of all time. And she was arrested only 30 minutes later. After being arrested, that's when Sarah finds out that Zaya did not die. He's still alive. He's in critical condition and he's in a coma. And she's actually really upset not because she hurt someone or hurt Zaya's feelings or even upset because she got caught. Sarah was upset because Zaya wasn't dead and that she got caught too soon. She actually told the police officers that it would be a shame if she was only arrested for attempted murder because she had so much more planned. Zaya adds entire family, even his family and Iraq flew to Germany to be by his side and they were praying that he would wake up and he would make a full recovery, but sadly only 19 days later, Zaya would tragically pass away. And again, Sarah showed absolutely no remorse. She was upset for herself because she wanted to become this serial killer and kill all of these people and after Zaya's passing, her charges were upgraded from attempted murder to murder. While she was awaiting her trial, Sarah was held in a unisex prison. I guess there's prisons in Germany that hold both female and male prisoners. And reportedly, Sarah was one of three women that were in this prison and she got a lot of attention from the male prisoners while in this prison. And I also didn't know this was a thing but I guess in Germany in some of these prisons, prisoners are actually allowed to wear their own clothing. So Sarah would call up her mom all the time and ask her mom to put more money in her account because she wanted to buy more clothes so she could be the best dressed person in prison. In prison, Sarah also wanted the photos that she had of Ted Bundy and Richard Vermeeras that were hanging up in her bedroom so she could hang them up in her cell but the prison said that she could not do this. And Sarah was actually a little upset in prison when she found out that she could wear her own clothes. She was happy that she could be the best dressed person in prison but she was actually really upset that the prison wouldn't provide her an orange prison jumpsuit because in her words, she wanted to wear one of the hot orange outfits that all of her famous infamous serial killers that she was obsessed with wore in America. Behind bars, Sarah still wasn't done. There were still more people that she wanted to kill even behind bars. One day her mom comes visit her in prison and Sarah asked her mom if her mother would murder her ex-boyfriend Leon for her and her mom refused. And if you're at all wondering about Sarah's friend Francisco that was aware that Sarah was playing to murder someone the night that she stabbed Zayed. She was originally arrested and given charges and she was actually facing five years in prison but for whatever reason those charges were dropped completely. In May of 2022, Sarah's trial began and she was having an absolute blast. She loved all the attention. She died her hair a dark red for the trial and she bought all these brand new clothes for her trial and throughout the trial, as you can imagine, she still showed absolutely zero over Morris for Zayed even while his family was there completely devastated. She also didn't hold anything back at all. She kept saying that she was going to be this huge serial killer and she got arrested way too soon. It was all the same stuff that she had been saying since she got arrested. And when they asked her why she killed Zayed, she said that the reason she picked him as her first victim was simple. It was because he had a car and he had no children. Also during her trial, she testified at the reason that she did all of this was because of her ex-boyfriend Leon. It was all of Leon's fault because he was abusive, mentally, physically, emotionally, and sexually. So they actually brought in Sarah's ex-boyfriend Leon to testify against her and also testify and try to like stand up for himself and say that all these accusations were completely not true. And I guess Sarah was not aware that Leon was going to be brought in to testify because when he walked into the courtroom, she threw an absolute fit. She got up. She tried to like attack Leon. She had to be restrained and then the entire time that Leon was on the stand, Sarah was balling her eyes out. She was crying the entire time. The judge in her case actually said that Sarah was a deeply disturbed individual and definitely would be a danger to society and would not have stopped killing until she was caught. And from the limited information I do have about her, I do agree with that statement. But because she was only 19 years old at the time of this murder, this was considered a mitigating factor. So she was actually sentenced to just 12 years in a psychiatric hospital. So she could be released as early as 31 years old, which definitely scares me a lot. But from some further research, it does seem that even though she was sentenced to just 12 years in a psychiatric hospital, she won't be released until she's actually deemed no longer a danger to society. So it's very likely that she will spend more time in this hospital or one can only hope. After her sentencing, when Sarah walked out of the courtroom, she held up her palm and it showed that she actually drew a pentagram in her palm, just like her favorite serial killer did Richard Ramirez during his trial. There is very limited information about what Sarah does day today in the psychiatric hospital, but it does seem that she's living a pretty good life since killing Zayed. In the hospital, she gets to watch TV, she gets to go to the gym, she gets to have visitors, she eats a vegan diet. I know that doesn't mean anything, but that's like the bread crumbs of information that we actually have what's going on with her day today.
