TCM Miracles – The God Doctor in Hong Kong

For everybody listening, we decided to create a Christmas special. Because we want to create miracles. Indeed, Christmas is full of miracles, so today's episode is called TCM Miracles. I'm excited. Yeah, I'm excited too, because we've all, literally, every but I know, know somebody who couldn't conceive and then went to do acupuncture and now has two kids. Miracles, yeah. And so many friends, you hear stories of people with back pain or this or that, and Western doctors couldn't do anything for them. So as a lost result, they go to TCM. Yep. And a miracle was worked, oftentimes with new medication. So today, I'm going to share some TCM miracles that me and my family members, my dad, have personally seen or experienced or heard of. And a lot of this goes back to a doctor, or TCM doctor who unfortunately passed away last year. And he's in Hong Kong. And in Hong Kong, the paparazzi called him the God doctor. Wow. He got paparazzi? Like he was. Yeah. In Apple Daily, Apple Daily is the gossip column, the main tabloid in Hong Kong. And they called him Sun, Sun is like a God. And he is a doctor. So we call him Masifu. In Cantonese, in Chinese culture, when somebody is a master, i.e., they excel at what they do, the top of what they do, you call them Sifu, and it's a sign of respect. In Mandarin, we say Shifu, sign respect. So Ma is his surname. So his name is actually Ma Han-Sao. And so because my family is Cantonese, and I'm in Hong Kong, we call him Masifu. And his clinic was in Mon-Coc, which is actually a former red light district. Wow. It's a red light district of Hong Kong that was somewhat gentrified. But it's still considered kind of like busy and city and water. Wow. And his clinic was in a apartment, in a building. No reservations. You couldn't call ahead. First come first serve. And an hour before it opens, people are queueing up. And that line snakes down the elevator bag around the block. It doesn't matter who you are, because celebrities, politicians have all tried. It doesn't matter. And so even when my dad goes, or even when I want it to go, my dad would say, "Okay, I'll queue up for you." Wow. And how many people would he cap it at? Each day, he would probably see 200 people a day. Wow. Because when you get up there, there's no private room. And imagine the celebrities are going there, because he's known as the God Doctor. Yeah. And they're like, "Oh, can I have a private room?" And everybody knows it. And he says, "No." I love that. It's one big open room with rows and rows of stools, wooden stools. And so as you move forward, you're sitting on the stool. And he walks from patient to patient, giving you diagnosis. Once he gives you the diagnosis, he may work on you. He may do some muscle manipulation, this or that. But usually he'll write a formula down. He has an assistant who writes a formula down. And then they have packers. And you come back in a couple hours when they've finished packing your customized herbs. And they do see him, sad. Yeah. And they do the old school way where they actually pack the herbs. And you have to take them home and boil them in a special clay pot, which is what is what you should really boil Chinese medicine. And it's a ceramic pot. And usually, it's a one bag of herbs. You add five bowls of water. And you boil it for about 45 minutes or an hour, depending on what your doctor tells you. And it usually goes down to, because it evaporates. It evaporates down to one bottle of liquid, black foul tasting liquid that you will have. And you just down it. Whoa. Yeah. And I've grown up with this since, I mean, the youngest I remember having this was I was four years old. Because not that I particularly probably needed it that my parents, I was an only child that took me everywhere. And they were always in such of, you know, all these different doctors. Oh, cool. And so since I was with them, and they didn't want to leave me home alone, you know, they were like, well, feel the pulse of audota. And, you know, so yeah. Oh, my gosh. And now you can give me the thickest foul. I've tasted the most foul tasting Hubble formulas in the world. And I'm a pro at it. I'm like, give it to me. Down it and one go. Yeah. And I'm good. I kind of feel, I mean, not to that degree, but similar. My mom would always give me oil of oregano. We're crazy things growing up. So now I'm just like, you just put it back. Whatever. Trust me, oil of oregano does not even have the foulness. I believe it of Chinese. I believe it. That's a while. OK, wait, before you go into it, I'm like, does he have any pro? Is there anyone as good as him? He has a son. I don't think his son is as good as him. He's interesting. He has a wife. And when you see her, her eyes are unusually large. Oh, wow. And she, when I was in Shanghai, so I'd open my first etiquette school in Beijing in 2012. In 2015 was when I opened the Shanghai branch. And I was looking for an apartment in Shanghai. And my dad said, OK, well, shortlist them. And then when you're in each apartment, coal, massif was wife. We call it seed deer, which is the feminine form, like a mat, mat, mass dress or whatever. And I was like, but she says, TZM doctor, how can she help me with my apartments? And I was like, she can see things. And I was like, OK. But you know, and she, she was in Hong Kong. She was sitting in a clinic in Hong Kong. I was in Shanghai running around to different-- like three different apartments that I shortlisted. And I was in one of them. And she said, she said, this is a good one for you. You'll feel very calm here. And it was a great apartment for me. And I was very calm. And my business was booming and everything was great. She has big eyes. She can see. Yeah. So and my dad thinks, my dad's like, you know, I think his wife is the one who really also has a gift. But she-- Oh, wow. Like it-- But it came through him. He was the vessel. And for some reason, I've never heard of a-- gosh, in all my years of going to Chinese doctors, at least the old school type, none that are women-- It's been a mouth. Interesting. It's always the women behind them. Always the women behind them. Wow, that's interesting. Can you go see her now? Yeah, so my dad doesn't see his-- Great. I'm going to visit your dad in here. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, my dad will take you. OK, great. And so before we launch into the actual miracles, there are a couple more things I want to say about Massifu. He-- how he even got into TCM as a bit of a miracle. He was studying for a Master's degree in business in the States. I remember Chinese guy, right? Went to the States study. And then he got multiple sclerosis. Wow. He was told that MS was incurable at that time. Remember, this is decades ago. And he was in so much pain that he wanted to throw himself off the roof. But he wasn't strong enough to climb over the wall. He tried to come to suicide, but didn't have the strength to. And then through introductions, he was introduced to a Chinese restaurant cook who used to be a TCM doctor back in China, but emigrated to the States and became-- Oh, wow. --and that's often what happens when Chinese people immigrated to the States. They've first worked in the restaurants and this and that. And this guy gave him a couple doses of herbal soups, and he was cured. So Massifu immediately gave up on his business studies and decided to learn TCM instead. And in fact, my dad even knows one of Massifu's monsters. This guy, old guy in Taiwan, my dad went on a mission to find him. So-- and then Massifu himself in the US, he was studying, he began studying chigong kung fu. And he had followers. He had white followers. He had black guys who were following him, like, isn't his disciples. Yeah. That's amazing. Yeah, he had non-Chinese disciples. But, though it, I don't think he even speaks English. So that was-- Oh, it's just-- it's really incredible. Like, these guys basically in the street saw what he did and how what he was able to do with energy. And almost-- I don't want to say fight, because he wasn't violent or anything. But immediately these black guys and white guys went over to him and said, we want to be your disciple and follow you and call you Massifu and you teach us. Whoa. That's crazy. OK, so launching into some of the-- let's get into it-- the miracles. And I did cross-check these with my dad. Love. And then-- so the first miracle I want to call the incurable heartbeat. And this is really funny, because when I started clubbing in Hong Kong when I was 17 years old, everybody starts a very young in Hong Kong. And one of my clubbing buddies was this Argentinian guy called Ernan. Ernan, I did. Wow. In everywhere he went, he was flanked by like three models on each other. And he was just one of my clubbing buddies. He was a good 10 years older than me. And. And then I kind of lost touch with him for a little bit. I was working in New York, and I got a Facebook message from him. This is back in the day when we still use Facebook. Pre-Instagram days. And I announced on May of Facebook message, and he said, he said, you know, I remember that you would talk about your Chinese doctor, and I'm trying to find one. I have something-- I have an issue that Western doctors say they can't have. Cure. And I was like-- So I said, well, let me finally address her, my dad. And my dad said, is your friend's wife? He's a guailo. Guailo is what we call white people. It means foreign devil. Oh my god. Look, is he a back in China? There were no white people. And then we saw these white people were like, they look like ghosts. We're going to call them foreign devils. So in Hong Kong, yeah. He's a guailo. Does he speak Chinese? He's like, Masifu doesn't speak English. So he's like, how about this? I will personally take your friend. And I was like, is my clubbing friend? I was like, yeah, I'm like, please say anything. And my dad's very caring. He's like, I'll take your friend. And I was like, OK. So my dad takes Ernan to see Masifu. And he had a heartbeat issue. Whoa. Yeah. He had an insane-- like, whatever number of hot beats we have in a minute, Ernan had something like 100 times that or something. Yeah, or 10 times. It was insane. Holy shit. And Western doctors had pronounced incurable. Not curable. Masifu just looked at him. And he said, your neck bone is dislocated, take an X-ray, and then come back to me. And the X-ray of an neck confirmed Masifu was diagnosis. And my father, who related to this image, I had my dad goes, I was with Ernan all this time to act as his interpreter. I love your dad. So this diagnosis gave Ernan hope that it might be curable and to cut a long story short years later when Ernan finally thought he was cured. He wrote a book called Reversible, Doctor of Hope, Versus Doctor of Fear. Whoa. The book is in Spanish. It has a photo of Ernan with Masifu at the clinic. And my dad goes, and my name appears many times, isn't it? Period, dad. As a child. And you know what I'm going to do without him? Yeah. And this book is on Amazon, I mean, you guys. And so-- And then when Ernan felt that he was confident enough that he wasn't going to die, he then married his girlfriend, Rachel. Thank you. And they're now happily living in Spain with their daughter, Sophie. Wow. And you know what's funny? Ernan became BFF with my dad and invited my dad to his wedding and didn't invite me. Unbelieveable. And then even invited my dad to Ibiza and didn't invite me. Unbelieveable. But I was like, I'm invited to Ibiza. You're right. You're like, that's great. Did you go? My dad is a visitor and on countless times. It doesn't even always tell me every single time. That's obviously amazing. I know. I think it's cute. It is cute. But it's a really beautiful story. And it reminds me so much of Dr. Jonas Benza. And everything he did when all the doctors said that. So for some of all listeners, you're going to have to explain who Jonas Benza-- Dr. Jonas Benza, he is-- I mean, technically a chiropractor is what his background is in. But he's become this massive, just phenomenon in the states. And I think it's transcendent to other countries too. But he preaches meditation. And he's just like, your mind can do whatever you want. Like, you can heal yourself using your mind. And he had really-- he had gotten in a bad bike-- I think he was cycling. Yeah. He was hit by something. Exactly. A bike accident. Totally messed up his spine. Yeah. I mean, he was in a wheelchair. Not even-- he was lying flat face down. Told you he could never walk. And by every doctor-- Every Western doctor. Yeah. He had to have a full open back surgery in the next 48 hours in order to survive. And he chose-- Nope, not to do it. And every single day would meditate and think about restructuring his spine. And he did it. And now he does. Yeah. And in six weeks, he was walking. Yeah. And it was a miracle. And now he does these massive seminars. But anyway, it reminds me of that. Yeah. That's amazing. Yeah. Miracles are possible. And by the way, in Arnon's book, he talks about how he had consulted other alternative doctors in Argentina, Spain, and Thailand. And it wasn't until Masifu that he had his hope. Yeah. That's amazing. He calls Masifu as Doctor of Hope. He is. That's amazing. And your dad. And your dad. All right. The second one, miracle number two, the mysterious splitting headache. And this is also really-- these are all related to Masifu. OK. What happened in his clinic? A woman patient was having a splitting headache. And my dad actually saw this. Because my dad would go-- I think my dad would just go to hang out of that. And so it's my-- I was like, they were all kicking it. So that's like a mirror. That is so funny. He's going to watch this and be like, I was not doing it yet. A woman patient was having a splitting headache, which all other doctors she'd seen, failed to even diagnose. She was referred to Masifu by a friend. I happened to be there when she came to the clinic. That's why my dad said, one look, Masifu asked her to turn around. Without her knowledge, she held up a small makeup mirror behind her head that faced out. So this mirror was facing away from her head. Her headache suddenly disappeared. He took the mirror down and the headache returned. He repeated the exercise a few times, not knowing what was happening. The patient was completely baffled. The ache appeared to come and go at Masifu's command. Master Ma then explained there was a bad tea energy entering her apartment from a window. All she needed to do was go home and hang a mirror on that window with it reflecting out. No need for medicine. Did you do it? Yeah. You're not doing it? Yeah. Wow. That is-- I mean, so he-- To use the miracle. No, I mean, no. And he's very gifted. I think that point. That's Feng Shui miracle. Yeah. But also for him to know that intuitively, that's-- Wow. And not having not even been in her apartment. Like that's-- That's not at all-- Wow. And actually Marie Diamond said this in the Feng Shui episode. That the best healers or practitioners of any kind are gifted. Yeah. And they see things. Absolutely. They see things. Wow. Yeah, I mean, even my-- I go to a body worker who's a medical intuitive as well. And he will tell me things about-- the New York move. He'll tell me things that have nothing to do with what were there for. He sees other things. It's really-- yeah. Very cool. What a miracle. T.C. I'm miracle number three. I call this the American woman with aches and pains. And again, this is narrated by my father. I'll do it in the third person. OK. One evening, during my father's Tegong class with Master Ma, he heard the story that a woman patient from USA was passing through Hong Kong on her way to Beijing for treatment of her headache as well as other aches and pains. And her friend who was in Hong Kong just took her to see Master Ma. Master Ma manipulated her for a minute or so and the pains were gone. He told her she was cured and to just do touristy things in Beijing. This American woman was so happy she broke down and cried in front of everyone. And remember, it's literally everyone because it's like 100 people sitting on stools in one room. Yeah, right. So it is everyone. Yeah. [BLANK_AUDIO] was like, what a gifted, gifted, gifted, given. And I remember when I was in college, I was having dinner at home, and my parents had just come back from Massif, who was clinic. And they said that they saw a woman-- I might have showed this on a pond on a different episode-- they saw a woman who had aches and pains on her body. And Massif would look at her. Didn't even put a-- didn't even read her pulse. Just how many abortions have you had? She said four. Yeah, wow. And he said, I know, because I can see the spirits of the babies clinging to you. And then he just did an exorcism, and she was fine. I wish we had more of this accessible. It makes me so Western medicine. I don't even want to get into it, because it makes me so mad. Like, this is real. Like, this is healing. And I just wish that this was broadcast more widely and was more accessible in our culture, because this is the real deal. Well, this stuff has been pushed down by Big Faba. Of course. It's by lobbyists. They're like, hey, pay us $900 to give you a pill. Right. And what Dr. Chris Motley told me privately-- and guys, you should check out that's a great episode on TCM for parasites in your body. I'm like, no, I mean, it's really beautiful. This is. That's not. OK. Oh, and then number four, the reproductive issue-- again, narrated by my father. He said, my assistant Mimi came to me midweek and asked for the following Monday off, because she had to undergo surgery that weekend regarding some female reproductive issue. I immediately took it to see Massie for you. I love your dad. To see if TCM could help in any way. I distanced myself from their consultation to give her privacy. So I didn't know what the problem was, which means he was like, tensed all down. Oh, hilarious. After taking two days of herbal medicine, she didn't need any surgery nor a day off. He's like, when for me? Oh my gosh. That's amazing, you know? Yeah. Wow. Yeah. And my dad reminded me that Massie, he edited a PhD thesis. It was based on his research and clinical proof that actually certain cancers are caused by flu viruses not flushed out of the system. And only suppressed by processed medicine. So when there's a flu virus-- and by the way, that can even come from vaccines as well-- and processed medicine pushes it further down. When actually what Massie for Chinese medicine does is brings it up-- And out. Yeah, it actually comes to the service and out. So you will be-- you'll look like you have the flu. Yeah. For a couple days, maybe even for these-- But you're purging. Yeah, exactly. You'll purge. It's just so-- I don't know. I'm going back to what I already said before. But I grew up with both my parents having cancer. We grew up like everyone was so sick. And I wish that there was this. And thank God that I found through all my stuff. But even I'd be so-- I had appendicitis. I'd be curious what he said about that. I had-- Oh, the SIBO. I had all these things that, you know, if I just gone to someone like him initially, he would have gotten to the root cause versus putting band dates on it. That's what I do feel very blessed growing up in Hong Kong. Yeah. That I had access to both the Western and the Eastern. Exactly. Because that's what I think you need. Yeah. The Western will save your life. It will. Yes. It absolutely will. Like, we need it. But also-- Yeah. You need the Eastern too. Yeah. And so Hong Kong-- and I also do think Singapore too are very good at blending too. So you can optimize. You can optimize your health using both these systems. Yeah. Can I ask you, when your mom got sick, did she ever see him? That is a great question. When my mom was diagnosed-- I remember it was my senior spring of Georgetown back in 2007. And when they called me to tell me about her diagnosis, she was given just a few weeks left to live, actually. Because it was stage 4 liver cancer. And so at that point, then she went and found-- well, then we went and looked up some function masters. And then we also were introduced to-- That's how we met Masifu. Oh, wow. That's how we introduced him through the last time I met her. Because we were so desperate. Yeah. And so friends, again, when Western medicine tells you you're going to die, you go to every other option. And unfortunately, he wasn't able to save her. But he brought so much-- even just her illness bringing him to us as a family-- Absolutely. --gave us so much. Because to this day, like I said, my dad goes and hangs out three days a week. And like their best friend. Oh, wow. He did try. He gave her medicines. She joined his T-Gone class, which is actually very hard to join. It's in the evenings. And-- I mean, did she live longer than those? Yes. Yes, she lived for three, four months longer. And I do remember, because I graduated from Georgetown in May, and I spent June with her. Yeah, I actually probably had two, three weeks with her until she passed. And the medicine he was giving her was-- I'd never seen anything like it before. It was crazy. I mean, like you said, he said she had to purge, because she had all these toxins in her body. So she was drinking his medicine. She was doing T-Gone. And she had black bile coming out of the pores of her calves. Of her calves? Yeah. So her legs became very swollen. Holy cow. Very swollen. And so she-- And it was trying to-- because he was trying to do a potion. And then I'd never seen-- I was like, wait, and then I'm helping her clean the stuff off her calves. Whoa. Yeah, like-- It was probably coming from the liver, though, right? And maybe-- You know what? I actually never asked. And I wish that I asked Master Ma before he passed away last year. But-- Wow. And I'll have to ask my dad again. It was just crazy. So literally every two hours, we'd have to be cleaning the black bile that was coming out of the pores of her calves. Because everything sinks down to the bottom of your body. Sure. So all of it was all trying to exit and through her feet as well. Whoa. That's intense. Yeah, that's really interesting. I'm so curious. We'll have to ask Roger. Can you please call us? I'll have to ask Daddy Bear. Oh my gosh. But I mean, beautiful that you got at least longer than those couple of weeks, they said. Yeah. Wow. Yeah. And Master Yfou, he was actually-- he was able to accurately feel or sense or scan a patient even before or without touching their pulse. Wow. And Mike is my dad's like, you remember, you have to say this. He said he developed this skill through years of practice of Tegong. And in fact, sometimes-- because when you're a patient, you want to know what-- when you want to see your doctor checking you out. Totally. Like, OK, the eye is the tongue, the pulse. And his patients, because he would just say stuff-- They're like, how do you know that? They would be like, don't you need to feel my pulse? So often what he'd do is he'd kind of just like-- he should give-- he'd just be like, yeah. And he just-- But he already knew. He was doing it just for show. Yeah, to make them feel better. To make them feel better. Whoa. But he didn't even need to do that. Yeah, my acupuncture always sells my pulse. Every session. Yeah. But he wouldn't-- Matthew would just look at me. Wow, that's crazy. And so my dad was like, you know, the skill may sound too far fetched, but it isn't. In the old days, the imperial physicians were said to use a piece of string-- to use a piece of silk linking the wrist of the Empress or princesses to feel their pulse. Because they were not allowed to touch the Empress. Like, the doctors were not allowed to touch royalty, and especially female, won't they? And so they would have a piece of silk linking the wrist of the Empress to the doctor, to feel their pulse, and in effect, the physicians were sensing the patient. Because it's actually just energy. It's a vibration. Yeah, you can feel pulse through a string. Yeah. Wow. That's fascinating. OK, I think that's enough miracles for this Christmas special edition. I love it. So many miracles.
