Transkriptio keskittyy Tottenham Hotspur -jalkapallojoukkueen kriisitilanteeseen päävalmentaja Igor Tudorin alaisuudessa.

The only thing is to say you can turn around and sort of spin it to be like, look, we started to compete in our last hour. It was kind of tip for tattoo. I know that they were already up and it was already kind of finished on their side, but just clutching at straws and I think we all are to be honest with you. Yeah. I mean, Miles bringing you in and you did let us say, "Wall, I was in listeners around Kinsky and the fact that the matter is when he was in "fat new castle game, he was suspect for a couple of goals there." But that on par in the first, 1730 at the board of touch upon, that was the new castle away performance under Stalini, where quite simply, it was an implode of another level. I mentioned the fact to have three slipups inside the opening, first 15 minutes of a game. I don't know if it was a footwear or what it was, but you know, you had players that were to some degree. Just imploding. You know, Van De Ven will come onto his tackle that quite arguably on another day could have been seen red for. And it's the thing that worries me, I look at this group right now and I keep on saying this, this group, nobody looks ready for a fight. Nobody looks like they're ready for a battle. Nobody looks like they're gonna really fight with pride, with courage, with desire for the shirt. And it will come onto Tudor because that's the wider conversation to have them wherever even be it for another game. But Miles, give me your thoughts on the back of that display and where this leaves Tottenham, Germany as a whole. - Second tomorrow, but the problem is, is that most of this people working for this club right now, do not know what they're doing. And the issue that I've got is, whoever comes in next is gonna have the exact same problems, the exact same issues, and you've somehow got to lift these players up. And right now, I don't think that I think we've run out of time. I think everything's too late. And I am personally, and I'm gonna say this, the championship is called in our name because where the next result is gonna come from, I have no idea. I have literally no idea right now. And I don't, we're not winning at home. And we've still got to play forest and leads at home. If it was away from home, I probably feel a bit more confident that. - Right now. That forest game on the 22nd of March, Marlon, to let you come back in, that is like a final. We said pallets was like a final. That forest game on the 22nd of March is like a final, I suppose, the thing you've got to consider, Marlon, and we'll come on to the second part, and you way up his web art, you sack you to right now, then the man that's gonna come in is gonna get the second leg against the analytic home of Dread and Liverpool, which quite conceivably, we could lose, probably will lose both of those games. So then you think if a new man comes in, they have two defeats already. How much does that demoralise them before they even get to work with the group? And this is a big, big problem that Toplar got right now, because everyone knows, Igor Tudor cannot remain as the spurs in the field. - Yeah, he can't. - Yeah, as Luke said something, and he's trying to look for positives. Yeah, we've had 11 shots on Gold tonight. And so if I've let it go, and you go, you look at it and you go, really? But that's the one bit that probably has improved on from where Frank was, because we weren't getting these chances on the Frank, and actually, you said-- - Marlon, on that point you said there, that is probably the only point. - Yeah. - I could grab about Igor Tudor. - We've seen four games under Tudor, this is, I don't think of ever, you know, in four games with someone, you could look for something and see something. You've just said that, before you said those words, I can tell you, I have not seen one single positive action that Igor Tudor has done since he's walked into the building, not one, not one. And that's mad, 'cause we've had four football matches, right? Four football matches, but I can't give you one thing that I've seen, that tells me this is worth any more time. - No, no, and that's exactly, but the next one is gonna come in, and I'll sit here and guarantee you, when the Enic and the board, we kinda want out, we'll bring in the next fan, and then there'll be exactly the same. - I think the reality is that you look at this squad, like you said, Marlon, this again, I've mentioned it very, very clearly. For me, this is the worst squad that I've seen a mast over my-- - A mast assembled. - A mast assembled over my 30 plus years of scene and watching Tottenham, it's the worst. There is no star player, and you're right, we are in an absolute dog fight right now, and I'm gonna be obviously up, I don't know how way out of it. So look, let's hear from, at the moment at the time of the show being produced, he is the spurs head coach, Igor Tudor, we're gonna hear from him. - If we can start with the first half, after 15 minutes, you subbed off the Keepers and it's key for his first Champions League star, was it a wrong decision to give him a start tonight? - No, after you see what happened, for sure, is a wrong decision, but it was for me right decision to do, thinking before and all, because the team changed the competition, it was a moment right to do, unfortunately, it happened, it would happen, never change, Colquiper after 30 minutes, but it's like, is it, it's happened. - Obviously there was no acknowledgement from you when you came off the pitch. Have you spoken to him since, and is there any sort of worry from you in terms of his future confidence after that? - No, it's moment, is it? We don't need to comment, it's not moment, to speak too much. Strange game, strange game, strange game, you know, it's happened, you know, it's called, we give them three goals, after we were, we must start good, and then the problem skill us, the three situations, very, very, very strange, very, very unusual, so get to cast confidence, then we start, then we start, you know, we did quite something, we could opportunity to make four two, and then we could see the goal for point one, far, far two, you know. We apologize to the fans who were today, also to everyone, but a difficult moment. - You're both serious. - Everything looks like we're like going wrong, every small mistakes we pay, everything like is doing it, unbelievable, even this no situation, the end two players, they have this, this gig between them, two players out, it looks like everything's going in against us. - You're voting to make instant impact, it's now four losses from four games, in those games, 14 goals, considered. Do you still have confidence that you can turn this around? - I need to have, I need to keep working. As I said, not speaking too much, stay focused on things we can do, and as I said before, unbelievable, difficult to explain everything, everything, it's the first time I see this, all the things in my career, 15 years. So what I can tell you, I'm focused on to resolve the problem, the player also, so we need to be stay positive. - When things are difficult, you will be asked to explain what's going wrong, do you expect to be given time from the club to turn this around? - It's not about me, it's not about me, it's not about me to explain too much in the way, we need to stay calm and let's talk, you know. - Let's talk in batteries. - In terms of let's talking, you've made changes, you've tried to change things in games, why do you believe things aren't working? - I said, better let's talk, better let's stay, and that is not the moment to try to give big explanation, you know, we need to stay calm and continue. - What do you make of that? It feels like, these are full dramatic press conferences when a manager looks up there on the verge of leaving, top them, what were your main takeaways from that of Tudor in that press conference? It looks like he can't believe what's happened to this football club, which so far, he's stats in September, one none, drum five, lost seven. He was meant to be a firefighter to come in and get an immediate upturn, four straight defeats, the first manager in spells his history. Who thoughts on that press conference for you there? - No comment. Oh no, I wish it was that easy, you know, as he made it. - Oh, which it was for us? - I wish I could no comment. That's what you see in there as a man that's given up quite clearly, I think, you know, you can see that there was no sort of fighting talk or fighting spirit there was that he was basically no comment in everything that, where you might get like a, you know, like a, you could have even gone two ways, it could have done like a con-tay or come out fighting and swinging, but the no comment, I think, says it all, doesn't it? He's obviously resigned to the fact that he's probably not going to be here tomorrow, even alone against Liverpool. So I think the no comment is ended up being a big comment. And I think that's a shame, you know, because I think the one thing that you could maybe label at him is at least he had a bit of honesty in the press conference and says maybe a little bit all this to a full at times when he was, you know, calling out the club for what it was at some point. And he probably went in a bit too hard on the players, which obviously has not got the reaction, which he wanted. But it just seems like he's given up. When you're given up after four games, that just shows you what kind of mess that we were in. But, you know, he has to take responsibility as well. He's been a, he's been an awful appointment, no two ways about it. Not been a single improvement. There's not been any, as you mentioned before, right? There's not been anything to sort of take away and take hold of. He's playing players at a position. He is obviously has not got a relationship with these players. I think, you know, obviously, the move talking already about the thing that, I mean, you can never know how much to read into these things like the fact that he wasn't shaking his hands and the Jardspan thing, which the commentary made a big deal of. I don't know, I'm not sure how much we can read into that because we haven't actually seen it. And, you know, this is, you know,
This is my worry at this kind of thing in the first place. And you talk about the next manager. The next manager has got to have some kind of a finish to Tottenham. This has got to mean more to him than just be at another job. This is just to have a job to be gotrooter. And the same thing happens with every single Tottenham manager that will happen with him. Is that if you lose a job at Tottenham, you can just blame Tottenham on the situation. You can blame, "I went in there, but you know, this is just a craziness of Tottenham." Marino couldn't sort it out, contact couldn't sort it out, and neither could I. And your reputation is essentially unarmed. You know, you've got people calling Thomas Frank in the press saying he's still, currently the most on the sort after, you know, jobless manager around. His reputation is essentially unarmed, because people just blame Tottenham. And they just treat us another job. The next person has got to have some kind of affinity to Tottenham, where everything has got to mean something to them. Just otherwise, we're not going to survive this. If someone comes in with the same attitude as you go through, then we're going to get relegated. They have to have some kind of, it has to mean more to them than just being enough a job, because we've seen, you know, this is exactly what happens when it's just a job to you, you treat it like a job, you give up and you're done and you move on, you get a new job, and Tottenham, it's just something that we look back on and say, "Well, it wasn't me, it was Tottenham, I joined the basketball club Tottenham." So we need to get someone in that has some kind of affinity to this football club, because I'm just so worried, as we spoke about, I lent for 10-re winter on the overnight rig. There's no one at this club that really cares, who is caring about this football club at the moment? Our identity has been completely stripped. There's not a single Tottenham person in this play-in squad. There's not a single play-in Tottenham on the coaching staff, on the manager on the board. Tottenham is being killed in front of our very eyes. And unless we get someone in who actually knows what it means, Tottenham to be Tottenham and to have that affinity to the club, then our club is going to die. How common are you, Bill? They will do that. I don't think there's anywhere else there is to turn, whatever, and they have to go with someone with some kind of affinity to Tottenham, I imagine. The names that we keep being linked with are sort of an amacens issue, whether it's your deferral or keen or someone like that. I have seen a couple of links to Tiago and Mata. I just can't see it. I can't see someone coming in now, like another judo, where they, you know, it's just the amount of games that we're going to have, eight, seven or eight games to make it mark. It's got to be someone who knows the club. It has to be now, so I just think that's the only move left. It's the only role of the dice left. But I think Marlon will end up being right. I just worry now that whoever comes in, it's going to be, there's no time. There's hardly any time to do anything anymore. You've got a handful of games left. It's going to have to be someone, Bill, you feel that's going to galvanise the place. Galvanise the players and try and lift everyone. I mean, this is the real, real key. It is the real, real key. Luke bringing you in, I mentioned it to Bill there. You know, he starts in September. You know, it's the man that has lost seven drawn five and not won a game. So he wasn't coming into the Spurs job, flying from elsewhere, but I think he had one, forgive me, I think the first game in his first five, when you look back at his previous job, so he normally made an impact as soon as you went into the building. It's been the complete opposite. If he leaves Spurs, he'll be the first first manager in history to lose each of his first four games. I mentioned it earlier, 14 goals conceded in that time, four different formations. Players being played out of position. Jed spends going up to shake his hand, rather than the other way around, almost kind of making a point to say, we're not in being knowledgeed, refused to lose the top of fans in the away in that full time. It did feel like Bill said there when you listen to the press conference, watch the press conference, it felt unamittance at this job is beyond him. Luke thought on it from you and where do we turn next? Because I mean, he might have won a very few major, I've covered the top when you think I have not seen one single solitary, positive action for a manager. Is walked in and walked back out. Yeah, I mean, it's difficult right? The last press conference that we had, Thomas Frankie was telling everyone, don't worry about it. I just did, then I'll wear in here for long. I'm wearing this for the long haul, we'll be together forever sort of thing and all of a sudden the next day he goes. And then you've got this manager that's no comment in questions that are fairly straightforward and basic. And actually that's quite the norm in English journalism. These are questions that any manager that struggles for a little period actually gets quite regular. Maybe that doesn't happen in other countries. Maybe he's not used to having these sort of conversations thrown at him. But you've got to handle it and kind of, his message was almost like we need to stand strong, we need to be, we need to like grow up here, we need to, well, that's not them sort of comments and not you doing that. You're not sitting that precedent and that example. So it's a problem. And I'm just, yeah, someone needs to come in that has a bit of an affiliation. Then there needs to be Billy's right. We need to have someone who cares about the club. And I think the whole reason why they went for him was purely because Spurs don't need a coach, Spurs don't need someone to come in that's going to improve players, Spurs just need a bounce. That's all they need at this moment in time because it's such a short period of time. So you don't need to bring in someone that's going to do this and do that. It just, when you look at it and step back and actually look at it and say, he's going to change your formation because he's going to be very insistent on the sort. He seems to want to play in some way for at the back, first, I five at the back and how you make that up in terms of your midfield and your strike force can alternate. But he wants to play free at the back, five at the back. He's going to go down that route. We haven't really done it. We was doing it, but Palinia was more of a stopgap in that position for a period of time. And he didn't have experience of the league. And it was like, you can take that if he's going to be the long term manager, then you might have to take that not all managers are going to have primarily experience. But for someone just to come in just to do that immediate thing. I mean, look at Man United with Carrick. He's someone that's got an affiliation to the club. He's last job. He was in the champion shape. He's not a man. It's like all of these sorts of things and they've gone, no, this is the kind of area that we need to go down just a bit of a bump, bit of a run. Let's see where we can go with it and go from there. And but Spurs, as I say, every, every single decision we seem to make. It's never the correct one. And this goes back to players as well. People constantly kept saying that signing these players, signing these players. And I kept saying you're signing squad players. And guess what now we've got a squad of players. We've not, as you said, we've got no standouts. We've got no top level players. All of these players are squad players that should be in and around the team that shouldn't be the first name on any team sheet. And that's where we're sort of out of it. Look today and what's happened over these last six months. We had Angeposter Coglu who got Brennan Johnson, forget about what you think of him. He was the top goal scorer in his system. Within six months, we've sacked that manager, bought in a new manager, who's then sold that player. And then in the January, we bought Galaga, we bought Javi, and this manager has dropped over them. So over the course of a six month period, we've had three managers that all don't approve of the last key player or main signings that those managers have done. And this is again, a continuation problem that we consistently have. But say in all of this, we can point fingers absolutely everywhere. That January transfer window is going to go down as one of the worst this club has ever had. And we went windows without signing players. This is utter negligence in that window alone. Forget about all of the stuff we went through for the first six months and up to January and what happened and all the injuries. We could have rectified all of this very easily by going out and signing some decent players in January. And people talk about, oh, well, it's only a short term. It's short term. This short term that sometimes you have to look at the short term. I remember when Spurs went out and signed players like Wilson, Palacios knowing actually he's probably only going to be for a short period of time. And hopefully we can then quickly go and upgrade. That's what Spurs needed to do. What are you Parker? Edgar Davids. But sometimes you need stopgap. Sometimes you need a player to come in, do a job really quickly now. And then progress you to another level. And then all of it, all of a sudden you can start bringing in the more quality players. Some of the names that we were linked with and everything else. But the thing is with us, because there's no plan, no one has any faith in what's going to happen. I mean, you look at, I know, look when didn't actually get any goals or assist this today. You just look at that player and you go, what we are crying at for some of that. Just to beat a man, do something, play a little ball inside and run out. A bit of pace. But I think you're, I think you were, I think Marlon yourself mentioned it. This squad is not necessarily about the quality of player. That's irrelevant for me. It's, there is no squad planning in this, in this whole squad. We're sitting here looking at saying about a left back. We're going to sign a left back in January. And the next day we're looking at signing another left back. There's just so many holes in this squad. And we've all said it for over a year now. And the person who's at the very, very top comes out and says, we couldn't really find anyone in this window that is going to improve this squad. And I'm like, hang, hang on a minute. I can literally name you 10,000 that begin with the letter A. I mean, that's how many players come in and improve this squad. And yet you can't find any. So this is, this is all all the avenues where we're at. It's not an inch problem. It's not a Frank problem. It's not a, it's not a chewed a problem. It's not an injury problem. The player problem. This is a club problem that all haven't used the lead to this point because of how mismanaged it's been over a very, very long period of time. And the only thing that we can hope for is that we get to appear in somehow some way. We rely on other teams to go on really bad runs. That's what we need. We need, let's face it, if any of the three teams that we're in and around us go on good runs, it's looking really bleak for us. So we need them to all go on bad runs. We need to somehow keep our heads above that relegation.
zone and then hopefully someone within the club goes right we really need to deviate away from the way that we're operating because it's just not it's not sustainable. Last year we used the excuse for we won the trophy or in the Champions League we're well this is the realization now we've done it for two years on the trot we're in this in this and we need to turn it around and look at what other teams have done look at what United done they went out they signed top class prem players that are in attacking positions to scorer and the goals and now look where they are and spurs need to learn from from what other clubs do because we're so far off it it's ridiculous. In your opinion Luke, Tudor definitely gone won't be here for another game Luke. Yeah well I said with Frank I thought we would be relegated if it carried on the way that he did and I think if Tudor stays I think he gets us relegated so will he go? I'm less confident that that should he go then yes that he should for me. Yeah I must have said on his point Master bring you in that look people want to think that we enjoy calling for coaches to be sacked. This is the case where look he's only been here for four games but this isn't a normal situation you know he was hired specifically to make a short term impact that isn't happening I don't think what we're saying is getting actually worse since he's come into the job but it is a long term issue spurs about they've won just 13 and they last 55 Premier League games. Look at itself it's horrendous so you're hoped by replacing Frank Tudor was an option to try and keep the club at Bayer relegation and to try and improve form but like I've said and you know I feel about this I have not seen one single thing that gives you any kind of comfort that this man can turn this around on the back of that post match-ins view there. It's really important that Luke made that point it isn't a Tudor problem it isn't a Frank problem it isn't a post-acogal problem there are enormous enormous failings at balled level and within that dressing room because I don't want let the players off as well because some players for me are just not pulling their weight at the moment and that really needs to be made clear on this show I will just say Chris water was spoken out former Tottenham player he said Tottenham Hotspur has become a business those are the words he's used. Tottenham Hotspur have become a business new stadium won the best in the world and it is now a business the football has become second to that you need someone who is the football mindset and wants to make Tottenham Hotspur a great club they had the money to make this club massive until the business takes a back seat people will always be chirping. Marlon I want to focus back on Tudor because like we said it feels a point now where there is no way he can carry on. Do you think Marlon that we will be seeing a different manager to dug out for Liverpool at the weekend? Yes that was his last interview I don't I don't see him carrying on after that you can clearly see that he has been told something that's the reason why the note comments are coming out because he won't be in charge for Liverpool if he read anything to how Frank went then he won't be here the issue that you're going to have is who who is going to be in charge have they spoke to anybody probably probably got on the phone today probably after that game they've only just probably got on the phone knowing everything about it the way this ball's working so I don't expect him to be in a couple of I don't expect him to be here by tomorrow night or Thursday morning first day morning will probably be when they'll get rid but look we are where we are we are Tottenham Hotspur right now and it's it's a complete mess everything's a complete mess and it's like where like we say it won't get any worse but it probably will they will probably be more and it is every time every time we keep saying that it can't get any worse it does get worse yeah and it's I know what I think what's I think what's annoying me as well is some of the names that are coming up and you're like I'm really going to make a change like the problem is when you look at the last 25 years there's not many people that have affiliation with Tottenham Hotspur apart from Puchitino he's only one who really want him and Harry Rednut the only two that really want to come back everyone else is kind of like I want to stay away and Rednut has had managed what since I can't remember how long it's been Rednut paid managed for years. In over 10 years the dual national team and before that he did contribute a second QPR down and he has signed up for the jungle and he's at Chiltonham this week. I know people talk about Robbie Keane but Robbie Keane's in a permanent job and he's not going to come back for six months. Do you think Marlon is on that point of Robbie Keane? Do you think the only way you get Robbie Keane is if you go to Robbie and say look here's a contract for 18 months because I think you're right on what you're saying now I don't see Robbie Keane walking away from Ferrent's Varos there I think Uncle's to win a title there that he's contributed massively too to be part of why would he want to sign himself up for eight nine games and potentially be part of a relegation I think that's the biggest thing isn't it because when you're looking at West Spurs R right now loop mentions on the last show to come back to you Marlon you are a hero if you keep top them up but the perverse end of that spectrum is you're also the manager that could take down one of the founding members of the Premier League that haven't been out the top flight since what 1977 so there's such a you know thin line there and you've got to come in and like you've said Marlon as well I grew with you work with this group of players that I have to listen to you I am absolutely disgusted disgusted by some of the attitudes being shown because it does feel like for some of these players they know they can get out of this whereas we're going to stay here we aren't going anywhere we will be with his club following it in the championship if that's what's going to happen but a lot of these players think they're going to be moving on and I was just going to go back to your point there Marlon who now comes in and gets some kind of a bounce because Frank wasn't getting it like Luke was saying Tudor never got it who's going to get that Marlon who's going to get that right now we've the games you've got left to go and that's the that's the biggest issue that I have because I don't I'm looking around and I'm thinking I probably would have gone for Redna a couple weeks ago but now I'm looking at going to the man's the age of the years the way the clubs the way the clubs being run is probably not ideal for a man of his age to be coming back in I know a lot of people are mentioning Sherwood but this was the same guy that managed to get Villa he will basically I'm still not forgetting for bringing that fan down from the seat like listen a lot for me Sherwood I found him intolerable during his time at Tottenham I mean that's the same man as we remember for the Chelsea game the whole they've they've got no guts you know yeah he'll be another one he'll like he probably do what Tudor did and probably speak a good game before it and as soon as he gets in and we lose that first game he'll be literally calling them out so we're kind of stuck in this situation right now where where do you suddenly go from and it's just if I'm sitting here struggling I thought I definitely know full well that that bull is struggling and they haven't got a clue feel there are suggestions of someone like a Chrissy Huton a getting he's been out of management for quite a long long time he has got affiliation to the club another one a Glen Hoddle someone that again we know has got a deep care enough with Tottenham he said he actually thinks he's the better manager now then when he would have been managing Spurs back in what oh one at the time but it does feel like Bill was I think Marlon has rightly said there there's a very much limited options really in terms of who he can turn to who Bill would be your pick at the moment it says who can come in and lift the dressing room lift the mood it's a difficult one unless you sort of start to build coaching teams of you know multiple people then it's there's not understanding that candidate but you know the way that you can maybe get around it is having someone with to throw you know as their coach or someone with just at least a couple of people you know that at least feel Tottenham or at least no Tottenham and I can see a few people in the in the chat saying Sean Dietch I think the problem with Sean Dietch is what's the motivation for him to take this job now because he's not going to take it on a short time basis if he said if you maybe say to Dijk's look if you keep us up you can have it next season as well obviously don't really want to go into next season I'm sure and I just my manager back at the moment survival has to be you know if you get someone like you know just throw on Dijk's into foes in front it's really difficult to know by the end of the day we're not the ones that are you know paid millions of pounds to make these decisions it has to come from the boards and they have to get this one right you know we can speculate all we want as fans and say yeah let's get Shio and Rednapped to foe all in together but it's the people on the board that are going to ultimately have the clubs fating their hands and that's a worrying thing you know they haven't made a single correct decision since they've been in charge this new ownership you know enough let's not forget their higher parades of Shio in October he was gone in January right Thomas Frank they kept him for too long they oversaw the January transfer and I think Lucas Wright is not even a maybe for me that will go down if we go down that will go down as the the biggest error in our history that January transfer window not given the managers more hope when we're in the middle of an injury crisis again we're begging for players and we didn't do it again and Johanna Lang had the goal to come out and say well we didn't want a panic well we need to panic right now because we're about to be relegated mate so you know these people unfortunately you know we can speculate as fans all we want and say well let's get dutch in with Robby Keener's assistant but at the end of the day this these people that are making the decision and I have no faith in them whatsoever to make the right one because they've not made a single right decision that's a beanie so it's worrying it is really really worrying and I think you know I pray that whoever comes in
will just have that I just feel it is really really important and they understand the severity of the sit shows that we're in and they have some kind of affinity to sort them just because you know it has to mean something to them you know we've we see the play in school but it doesn't seem to be mean in anything to the playing school of the man doesn't seem to be mean in anything to the to the manager at the moment because he knows he can just go they know they'll get a transfer in the summer and they'll be forgotten about but just pray that if you know even if someone comes in with defer alongside them or dutch comes in or something like that they have to understand that you know that this is this is the most important thing that our football club could ever do at the moment because our survival is on the line I just want on that point Luke Billy's mentioned in there and he brought the players into it I wonder how checked out all the players and how do we try and rally to get them focused again because it feels chewed out hasn't been out to letting the four games that he's managed them we're all unequivocal on this show that eagle chewed out should not manage another game at Tottenham and there's no way he could have maybe been stepped foot in the training grounds and managed even a training session at another game so on this point Luke like I've said I'm disgusted by some of the players performances but is there a way someone comes in and gets something out of these players again I will say this and it's not personal it's just a reality where we are this is one the worst playing groups we've assembled for the best part of the last 30 years we haven't got a star player even you go back to the night as we've not got a genoa we haven't got a klinzman we haven't got a star player like that there is no modules there is no bell there is no van de vaard there is no defo keen verbats off karrick player that's going to go in and see us through we haven't got any good dabbits that will really fight for us or a awesome palacios like you said earlier Luke or a Scott Parker so who is going to lift this group who is going to be the leader to try and see us through here because I am scrambling right now and I'm actually terrified that we aren't going to get on this like Marlon said at the start of this show who are we going to turn to Mar who are we going to turn to Luke the try and lift the group if that's even possible at this stage I think confidence is so underrated in football like I mean if we was having this conversation even a couple of months ago everybody gone well wolf was absolutely gone they probably they might not even get darby's record and then they just went in one and one and one and they don't have a bow or a moddrich or a genoa or a hoddle but they've they hit a bit of form they find a bit of a bit of confidence they find someone goes on a bit of a run like as I say Selankey and Richarlison for me if you give them in the battle that we're in and this is crazy right because last year we was also and Richarlison needs to go actually he's probably well equipped for doing what what we need to do now and he's probably one of the perfect sort of personalities that you want in addressing them right now when battling against relegation he can be an am for and everything else I think if you get the you give these two chances they'll score enough goals to keep us up it's whether we can give them enough chances but also whether we can keep enough clean sheets and not concede as many goals so any team can can go on this run we are definitely capable of it now it's not a if you was talking about over a 38 game season and everything else less this is this is like eight online games that we need to focus on and we need to get a couple of games a couple of wins and we are playing against teams that are in and around us so as I said it is going to be as much about us as it is about other teams if if forest go on a run where they only win one in the next nine if leads do only one in that then all of a sudden things start changing and again flipping out on the other side spurs probably have one of the easier runnings of the four now again you could argue it the other way and then say well if you can't beat anyone it though matter easy you're running is but again that bit of confidence can that can just get so lanky's come back and as you said he's actually hit a bit of form he's quite confident in front of the goal I think now since he's returned six but I think I said five early but I think it's six now for the lanky since he's come back and that's and that's what I'm saying if we if we managed to find a game against even if it's against a forest where we're absolutely the game is just so dull and you nick one in the last minute and you go on and win one nil all of a sudden it can't you kind of have a different feel about it especially if West down haven't won and and then all of a sudden we win we go right up close to leads and they lose the next game so it can change in an instant we just need that little bit of luck to go on our side but also you earn your own luck right you need to make sure that you're able to to be there be difficult to beat like first five minutes don't make a mistake well in whatever long it was with three nil dan and against athletic also we need to make sure we do the right things and again it comes back to a plan like the director of football should know and being around it and amongst it and work out what sort of squad we've got here is this a squad that needs just an arm-round it's shoulder is this a squad that needs to be kicked up the backside like they they should know that and they should have appointed a player a player a man sorry a point a manager that fits in with what was required from that from that squad but we lack we lack leaders and then that's that's that's the biggest part of this there's so much so many players out there that would come in and do a job and lead from the front and like if you were sitting there saying that right top them are playing against the athletic commentary they're playing away from our men and champions league what are what are the characteristics that you want you want to be in your midfield for instance you're going to say right i'm going to I want experience I want players that know what they're doing I want captains or palinia and galagor both on a bench today so they need to find a way of getting a tune out of these sorts of players and we was speaking about it just before we came on air about palinia this this guy is a number six he sits in front of that back for and he destroys play and he shouldn't be going across the halfway line every time he's played for spurs he's played as a number eight he's running up the pitch he's chasing down a ratback he's chasing down a leftback and i'm going that's what we're doing here well how we're doing this this is not what you should be doing you should be sitting there giving the ball to other players to let them play with the ball just sit there and do your defensive work and guys I mentioned it a little bit about going back to basics that's what we need to do we just need to go go back to basics it is going to unfortunately it's not going to be entertaining it isn't going to be five four games it isn't we need to make as many games as possible as boring as possible and try and just nicofue and all of a sudden you get a bit more confidence and then all of a sudden we go from there and get we set pieces like key almost that need to go back to prime sort of frank ball that's what we sort of do need to do and and I think that's why people are calling for Dish but I said it on the last show you mentioned it earlier how do you get how do you get managers interested you just go and offer a ridiculous amount of money because spurs spurs should have spent that money in January but we should feel that look if you throw money at managers they'll still come and take this for the eight non-game you still believe that you're opinion yeah despite and what we want to ask you that is that I don't think it's an unbreachingly confidence here there were suggestions that there has been managers that have looked at Tottenham looked at Tottenham and the reason why they're not interested in the job they don't see any leadership they don't see anything to tell them we're going to get out of this and that is another concern and I agree and again it comes it comes back to the fact that we're not talking about a long term here which brings with it its own negativity in terms of everybody and probably the industry believes that Potsch is going to be the guy so you're sitting there going well why do I want to do that well if spurs turn around and say right we're going to offer you the biggest wage of it other I don't use Dish as an example we're going to give you the biggest ever wage you've ever had and then we're also going to say if you keep us up we'll give you 10 million but all right that's a massive outlay but I'll tell you what it's a hell of a lot of savings it still saves a more money that doesn't get being relocated and that's that's the key thing here like okay diocese but again you have to get the grip and the feel of what this squad in tells and that's why the red map thing doesn't sit well with me at all I love red map I think he's football is amazing he's team is brilliant I love the way he is I love his character and everything else but Mickey van de Ven was 14 years old when he was last manager like these players don't know who he is and maybe he's playing the game yeah does it even matter who's a manager the way he's playing at the moment and that's it so they're going to be sitting around going why have we bought an 80 year old over to like they have to have some sort of respect it's they he'd have to be new in the new in terms of not long left the football club or not long left the playing their career themselves or well known or whatever but Spurs need to we talk about not not not being rash or anything like that Spurs need to be rash right now we need to make a decision we need to be decisive and this is again the whole Thomas Frank thing they should have made this decision in January gave someone a transfer window and said look we're bringing a couple of players and you can kind of get your style now we're so far into it it's literally firefighting but that's that unfortunately that's that's the situation what we put ourselves in no one else has put us put us in it we've we've done it to ourselves so they need to make a big decision you've got Daesh, Klinzman and and and Savgate are the only ones that I can sit here and go they've got some sort of affiliation in one way whether it's the they know the league they know they know the club whatever it is but there's no great there's no great candidate that's out there unfortunately otherwise who do I want to be here again this is how far we we've fallen that Sean Dys has been mentioned with the Spurs manager's job I mean you couldn't get a more opposite manager to a top of the Sean Dys could you but it's where we are right now and it is it's a saving job it is like you say look it's a survival job that's what it is a lot of people in the chat and say and look at his record look at this.
it doesn't matter about his record. It doesn't matter. All he needs is nine games. Nine games. All they need to do is he. Three four wins. Exactly. If they come in and win 33% of their games, that probably keeps us up. And also when you're talking about new managing, you're talking about what they're developing a style. You're developing, I'm not bothered by all of that. None of that matters at this moment in time. If they come in. It doesn't matter. The style don't matter like you said earlier. Doesn't matter if we're boring, save us. And again, he did save Everton. And, Marlon, let me come on to the closest sections. We do need to go for this next break. And I think it's an important one to mention. It's an important point to mention. And many of us are the real unpopular opinions. So forgive me when you hear this. This is an audio if you don't know what I'm going to say here. But despite what looks at a mountain to climb, there were past that game that Luke said. And forgive me Luke, if you don't know where to describe from your interpretation at, there was an element where the players did keep on going at some points that game. What else we did go three no down, which showed an element of recovery. And there might be a feeling that we're mostly down by things outside of some players control apart from the individual errors. Is it now time? Like I'm sure we are going to do like I'm busy on to the second to try and unite behind the players because they are the ones that Henry Winter said to us. Forgive me over the weekend. The players are going to be the ones to get us out of this. Maybe more than whoever is going to come in. Next to a place to do what's your gauge and a few more in terms of. How that's going to be approached and whether. The support of the fans in those home games are going back to the. Everton bus that you saw being paraded every time they came to the stadium. How much will positive vocal support. Try and get this group to play for us because I'm at a loss in terms of how to motivate them you said a few weeks ago, more on here brewing. That's not a key to getting it turning around. So do you think having a positive atmosphere going into these final eight nine games getting behind the players to be fair. The majority of the fans do anyway. I'm looking and thinking scrambling in my own thinking what's going to get us out of this because we seem all a loss here in terms of who should come in next. We're all unanimous in terms of to the has to go. But the biggest thing we all can't seem to answer is what's going to fix it. Who's going to fix it, Marlon? So how much is the support behind the players going to be a massive point if we do survive? Would you know, Marlon, your mind? You think we gone as you said, I said off the palace. It's the players that need to get us out of this mess. Not no one else. It doesn't matter the coaches. We could they've just got to stick them out there and then they've got to get us out of it. The issue that I kind of I'm still playing on in my mind is can they get like I generally believe it is going to be solankey and which I listen to guess out of it. Dare to I know to Lanky's been relegate before, but for me, which I listen has been through this. And like you said, everyone you got to use ever and as the prime example, they they board wasn't great. They didn't like their board, but the one thing they did that they knew they had to stick with those players through relegation twice because it was only them that could get an out of it. And they did. And again, that's why I say of Enic. They deserve they do deserve relegation for how they've treated the club for how they've run the club. I've read it so consistent. I can't make it any more clearer the way the board of run this club in the last how many years they won't believe in percent do deserves to go down. But what what I suppose fans have got the moment. We've got to look at other teams that have got themselves out of the situation and what fans have done. And the one thing that fans have done when they've got them up when most teams have got especially ever and ever and probably the prime example you used to. Ever because they're another team that's never been relegated from the Premier League. How did they then fans get together and they will support them boys through fit and fit and fit them. And that's why Richarlison is one of the like that's why they love him so much. He's here. He's still here. You might not be the best player in the world. We've got to somehow unite with these players and it's asked that I've got to do it for getting manager right now because that's again doesn't matter who's going out there. We've got somehow I know the plan and I know a lot of us are kind of pissed off with these players. But right now we need to get make sure that they know we believe that they can get out of this otherwise as you said, I might think we're down. But a lot of the fans that are new and there's a lot of people and until we're mathematically gone don't give up and I'm on board with that. I'm completely on board with that but at the present moment I think that's a whole fan base together like we're not the most united fan base sometimes. The certain thing you all agree on but right now we just need to all get together no matter what issues we have with each other as a fan base. Will a question come in here from seeking Oasis please change for Tottenham stop the process till we stay up as stash get relegated focus on as you're getting Glenn Hoddle or hiring up in I beg you. Bill do you want to come back to that question there? Yeah well a couple of things I don't think change the Tottenham could ever influence the board and get the manager in. You know as much as it'd be fantastic if they listen to us in that respect. And so yeah you know the stop the protesting I think is something which gets labeled sometimes during times like this and I think. You know change for Tottenham will never stop holding the board to account that's important because let's be happy right they are. The sole reason that we're in this position that we're in my opinion is as soon as you stop putting pressure on them they think they can get away with it so we'll never do that. But what I think is really really important at the moment is what Marlon was saying earlier as a fan base now we have got to come together and we've got to do everything that we can to try and get this team over the line. You mentioned Everton fans earlier there's good into your understown zone when you're talking about Everton and the relegation fight. He says Everton we were shit we were awful we were a terrible team we were losing game after game and suddenly we started going to the good at some park and seeing fans on the outside and seeing them come together and they dragged us over the line. So what is going to be happening I can confirm I can't confirm the exact times and details yet but we'll do that and there's a group of fans coming together. We're going to try and organize greeting the Tottenham team bus under high roads for the not an forest game. We want to make it masses of fans on the high road to greet that team bus. We want fans to come together to really support the team during this run in. We're going to bring flares we've got to bring the drama we're going to bring a mega firm we're going to get chance going we're going to turn the high road into what essentially whatever to fancy for the not an forest game and then every single home game since you just look we're in a situation now where you can question whether our players are doing enough to keep talking about you can question whether you got you to do it enough what I don't want to have been a situation is we can't as a fan base we can't we have to leave everything on the pitch as they say we have to make you blew my flag stuff like that exactly really. I want to finish the season and that fans did absolutely everything that they could to try and keep this football team in the Premier League and if that's meeting early doors and the white heart lane you know high roads greet in the team bus flares flags smoke and everything really I want to transform these players so this is our life this is everything to us so we are going to drop details for that not an forest game will be doing it for the bright and game will be doing it for every single home game the season no one because fans have got to come together and do everything we can. Not many people at the football club seems to be doing that but fan base as a fans we've got to do every single thing that we can and we've got to end the season knowing well at least we try to do everything so we will be doing that drop in details soon we just actually waiting for us so we can get confirmation but when the team bus is going to be there because we think it's really important when the players are driving down that high road into that not an forest game they see thousands of squares fans on the high road got to make sure how important this is to our fan base this is our survival on the mind and we've got to do a certain mechanical fan base to look up for details of that not an forest game. Bill amazing words thank you so much honestly it's real testing times but I always say this even throughout testing times Tottenham fans always show up and credits you Bill create to change for Tottenham because you know you're absolutely spot on this is the time right now where the fans we all need to come together and support this team and like you said if everyone feels they've done their part there then can be no feeding at the end of the season from our side at least as fans we never did enough so that will be a call of arms to all the spur support was out there even around the world if you're able to get involved in that as well like I say Billy there will be further details from change for spurge. Thanks for joining us look it's written all over your face for nearly 20 minutes here in imagery I mean where did we go from there and at least we've got a semblance of recovery there at 5-2 but that must have been tough that's that first 20. Yeah I mean definitely you know to concede three goals the way we did you know by just mistakes unfortunate stuff errors and this difficult part you know I think in times like this is where we have to show what type of team we are and they're like you know money to come in getting two goals back despite the situation is the only real positive we can take from this but you know it's half time they've got to come to our ground and we've got to show what type of team we are. I mean how did you gather yourselves after that start. It's tough but again you know I think that's what will sometimes you've got to deal with the situations like that and we just got to dust ourselves off and go again. There was a familiar face in attendance at of course the metropolitan stadium and that was Mauricio put a Tino who was seen looking quite despondent from the stands but he also traveled.
with Tottenham fans on the way. Let's see that reaction to Maurizio travelling with the Tottenham fans and get the guys reaction to that before we get into the crux of that game. It's here from Maurizio and how he was received by some of the spurs fans on a flight into the stadium in the earlier part of the day. ♪ I'm the teacher of the teacher of the year ♪ ♪ I tell you ♪ ♪ Let it go ♪ (clapping) - So there you go, Maurizio Pogetino. Yeah, it's being shown the love is still there for him. Bill, if I can just cover this subject off because I don't think I'm preaching any complies here to say this that I've been told by a very highly placed sauce outside of Tottenham that there's been no contact for Maurizio Pogetino and spurs haven't engaged with him at all over a potential return. If that is true, then that's what's been put to me. I would say allegedly, reportedly, just some covering myself there, but Billy, your thoughts if we haven't yet approached Maurizio Pogetino, it feels like the overwhelming favourite with his name being sung by thousands of Tottenham fans in the stadium and in addition to that, his name being sung pre-kick off on the flight. Where does that leave Maurizio with regards to a potential return bill? Does it mean anything but a fact again, I'll make that point. I've been told by somebody outside of Tottenham highly placed. We've made no approach for him. I can never predict the mindset of this board because they're so unbelievably enabbed, but I imagine there's what I'm trying to get the house in order before they approach him maybe, I would hope. And obviously it just feels like it's never the ability to be slightly wary. I don't know if anybody, what's gone under the radar today is he also did an intuitive Spanish media where he said he was, he called the rumours to be almost a nice rumours and he said he doesn't get bothered by nice rumours like Real Madrid. So I don't think this is a shure. And you know, in Pustino, he always has this sort of history of doing that kind of thing for other clubs as well, flirting with other clubs. You might also be using that as a sort of kick up the ass of Tottenham saying, look, if you don't come to me soon and get this sorted, I'm going to go to Real Madrid. There could be lots of different things at play here, but it just feels like this is, it has to be inevitable at this point because when we talk about how starved we are of any connectivity, when we talk about how people, I just treat in Tottenham as a job that they sort of go in, get paid and go and then never speak of it again. This is a man who bleeds this football club at the very least. And at a time when all of that kind of love for the club and all the identity of the club has been stripped and as a fan base we're left clicking on to sort of grains of sand, you know, nothing. He is instant shot in the arm that maybe we maybe we need for this. So, you know, I think it says a lot that in our very lowest moment, which we were in at the moment, he would still come. I imagine he would probably still come if we get relegated as well. He's probably that enamored with the club, you know, in every year and two that he does speak. But I think we have to be very, very careful because this guy could easily end up at Real Madrid if we don't act soon. So, you know, he didn't interview us with Chisholue T.V. today talking about Real Madrid from Madrid as well. So we have to be very careful Tottenham. I hope, you know, I've heard the same thing as you, you know, and I've heard that he's slightly annoyed by it as well. The fact that he hasn't had any contact. So we have to handle this really, really carefully because I'm just so done with this football club going from the soullessness of this football club. And, unfortunately, I would instantly add a bit of soul back. And that's at the moment, when it's so low, I'll take that as a base minimum. At least we'll have some kind of such affinity to the manager again. At least we'll get the confidence back on the fans and we'll get the fans back on side for me at the moment because it's so bad because it's so dire. That's the very minimum that at least we will get with Potsatino. Let me come over to you because again, I have to make it clear, Potsatino is not everybody's favourite to come in, right? I mean, he's not everybody's first choice. Some don't. One in back, some would love him back. Look, me personally, I'm craving this man to come back to the club. I'm craving somebody that can give me some kind of a connection back with Tottenham. And I have to be honest with you, if it's not him coming in, I'm going to be so underwhelmed because I've braced myself thinking this is the only man I think personally will get any semblance of time, patience, which is going to be required to rebuild what is a fracture Tottenham. And like Billy, I also believe if we did get relegated, I still think Potsatino would come back to the club because for whatever reason, he seems absolutely obsessed with us. He loves us. He really does. And look, I'm prepared to invite me wherever because I might be wrong on that. And like Billy said as well, it is concerning that there's been no contact. But then you might think to yourself, well, could they contact them when they don't even know they're going to be a Premier League club or a championship club? Or does it even matter? Look, your thoughts on the reactions to Potsatino that we've seen in this last 24 hours? Yeah, I think part of this also goes back to us as a fan base, right? I mean, loads of people are saying that they don't want to go anywhere near Pots because of what he couldn't get over the line last time and this that and the other and we are nowhere near this. Like we're not saying that we're a top four team and Potsatino is going to take us to become the champions. We, if Potsatino come in and took us to a mid table team, that is massive because at the moment we're nowhere near that. So again, this comes back to what we've said earlier about, let's get Romero at a club. He should be gone. We should be getting someone else in and it's like yet the person that comes in is not going to be any better. Potsatino is a better manager than what we currently have. He knows the club. And also, if you take away all of that aspect of what he used to be and that he used to be at Spurs and everything else, what he is and he's football and the way that he conducts himself, it is Spurs. It's exactly what you want. It as a fan, I want a manager that's going to come in that's going to enjoy being here is the first thing. I don't want to manage it. It doesn't want to be here or he's only here for a paycheck. I want to manage it that generally wants to be here. He wants to be here. I want to manage it. It's going to look at a long-term plan, invest in the youth. If we've got young players, I want them to be able to be given a chance. And actually, it might work out in Potsatino's favour. If we are actually at a lower end of the scale, because that then frees him up to be able to bring younger players into the squad, because we're not competing every single game for top oners and trying to be at the top of the table. So that's another thing I want. I want to tack in football. I want to manage it. It's going to come in and try and go and attack teams. The whole motto to dare is to do. He lives like that. So if you actually break it down and forget about the past that you had with us and looked at him as a manager and what he brings, it ticks a lot of boxes in what Spurs 1. I think the reason why a lot of fans are saying no is purely because he didn't get over the line. But again, that's so far away from what we are right now. I don't care about that. Just come and set some standards, Luke. Come and set some standards. And let's be clear. I'm going to go out on a limb here and say, every single sign in we make for a player wise in the next probably 20, 25 players. The next one maybe even two managers. None of these are going to be there again when we're competing at the very top if we get back to that standard. That's how many steps we have to take before we get anywhere near it. So people say, oh well, actually, if we bring you, we won't get over the line. We won't do this. Don't worry about that because we're again, we're so far away from it. And it's exactly the same with some of these players. Don't be worrying about going and signing some menus and things like that. Because right now we can sign average to decent Premier League players and they will improve some of our players. So I think that's with some of our players, some of our fans, sorry, are still caught in that. Well, with a couple of players in a decent manager, we're going to go and become X, Y and Z. But we'll come back to it. It really, really doesn't matter whether POTCH comes in. If we don't change the way and the way that we're heading and the direction we are as a football club, yep, it does not make any difference. What we do, who comes in, who doesn't. And that also, not just a manager, not just a player, not director of football. This is right the way through the club. We need to have a sense of understanding of what we want to be, where we want to go, how we want to do things. And hopefully that fits in with POTCH Latino. But if anyone turns around and says, Spurs have not made any sort of attempt to POTCH, I think there's a lot of fans that wouldn't be surprised by that. Whereas it's the most obvious thing. I remember Christian Ericsson being a free transfer and going, well, he's the most obvious player that Spurs need. We haven't had a Christian Ericsson since we got rid of Christian Ericsson. We knack and sign one on a six month contract. And we didn't do it. So Spurs never do the obvious because. You have the easiest thing it's the best thing to do. Yeah, and so. It's. You put it in yourself. And we've all just discussed managerial targets. And we've all basically said that they want to do something in the summer. Now, if POTCH isn't the person that you want, why wait until the summer? If there's the one you want, go and offer the contract now. And if you're not sure and you're trying to weigh up options for the summer, then offer a diashow or whoever it is an AE month contract. And then after six months, actually, we're going to level up here because we can go from being here to there. Think go and do it at like a big club because that's what other clubs would do. They'd go and write, "What's the best thing for right now?" It's this, actually, in six months time. Well, been that off, we're going to go and get someone better. We're going to go and get someone that's going to take us to the next level. Play top clubs do it with players. They have a player come in and after six months, they're not performing. Well, I'll get rid of them and I'll bring someone else in. Spurs need to start acting like a serious club. And that starts again. It starts from a very top. We can pick and choose all these different players and managers and everything else. Unless we try and change our. I call stuff the top and ultimately all we're doing is hoping for a bit of luck, a bit of an away day, maybe a potential trophy here there and everything, but it's not going to be frequent. We're not going to be challenging year on year because we're not serious enough. Yeah. Marlon, let's close this off really quick because I haven't very much time. Marlon, your thoughts just in terms of the potatino, links, the rumors, but in the bad fact again, I'd really tell a similar thing as well about it in the last 24-48 hours, even before this as well, I have to say, I've heard this consistently really in the last couple of weeks, but even more so now when you look at the situation, but I fact that he was attending the game. It's important that I make this point. He was a guest of Athletes, not Tottenham's. I think he was there to potentially oversee Johnny Cardoso, he'll be playing, of course, for the US in the upcoming World Cup, but again, but I fact, no contact with potatino at the moment. What's the gauge on that for you and what you make of, yeah, the fans calling and singing this name? The fact that he's travelling from London to go to the game, knowing the fact he's going to be on a flight with Spur's fans, he knows what he's doing. Of course he's putting the board into an impossible position right now because there are a lot of fans like you, Ricky, because I'm the usually example that Craven for him to come back. As you said, if it's not him, the next puncher ain't going to have a chance in hell. Just for that today and for him to be there and then for the whole shit show that we saw, it's becoming more and more increasingly that people are just looking at Portugal in. Even if he gets us mutable, like Luke said, it doesn't matter because that's where we want to be. We want to be able to enjoy the games again, winning games and just being, if he could do half what he'd done at Chelsea, when they were in a crap mess as well after potat, we'll be laughing, we'll be absolutely laughing because he will set us back to where we need to be and I know they've got a brilliant power squad that he could be able to do with. But if the board are at this present moment thinking that they could go look at the Zerby's, they can go look at whoever they want. I mean, Zerby just very quickly covered that Zerby thing off. I mean, everyone knows that's going to, that would last less than 12 months with Zerby because Zerby's also got standards. I mean, Zerby ain't going to, just imagine working with Zerby in this ball, right? Of course this happened in January. He might have been in Zerby, he would, he would, he would, he would, he would, he would absolutely throttle Lager. It doesn't let you physically take it to his own hands. I mean, this is like, yeah. But as I was really said with the whole round of the gym thing, he is obviously, he's looking for a job after the USA and the World Cup. And he knows it. Whoever he has to go to, he's going to be starting pretty season late. The one team that are in a massive crisis right now that he has an affinity with his Tottenham Hotspur. And he's just making sure that whoever they employ, whoever it's now and in six months later again, they haven't changed. My name is again, it'll be who's name will be ringing back. It's kind of one of those stories that I know a lot of Spurs fans, they'll want it and feel like we should, you know, the whole, you should never go back to an X or anything. But I think it's, it might be a choice that they have no choice in the matter and let's see how it goes. Lost bare supporters. We love it, lily-whites. We gather here today. To take about between fan and club. I will remain faithfully and give myself to no other. I will go down the lane. Come sunshine. With you, I will pursue glory. For better. For worse. In sickness. And in health. From the heart of North London. Wherever you go. I will follow. With your sons of my lips. Pride in my heart. And in a shirt on my back. I take you. Tottenham Hotspur. To be my club. If you dare say I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. I do. You may now kiss the badge. It feels irrelevant now the game because the manager's not going to be there. I said I'm not going to be there. After what? This is Tottenham. Even when you think with Tottenham you'd be surprised. You never quite know what's around the corner. But Igor Tudor, ahead of what might have been his final game, did make four changes to the side. To face of it to come. A really confirmed already beforehand that Michelle and son will get a start. Of course he did. Dominic Tsankey was back on the bench. This continues kind of loyalty to Randall Colomawani. You expect that at some point to come to an abrupt then certainly in the near future. If not immediate, given the nature of him and where are we going to end up. Matisse Tell also back in the team for this one. Jetspens was also back from an injury and took his place at left wing back with Suza and Basuma not registered to play. Of course it was the big decision beforehand that was making all the noise. And that was Anton Kinsky who was given the opportunity to play in place of a cardio for his first chap is he start beyond his previous qualifying round experience. Now despite the cardio is poor from domestically. He did have the most clean sheets of any goalkeeper in the champion of this season being six clean sheets out of eight. In the midfield you had a young midfield pairing of Pat Matisse Tarranucci Gray. With yet as the boys referenced earlier, Connor Gallagher, a January signing on the bench. Jal Palina, which you consider those two players leaders and the summer signing of Javi Simmons all taking place in the bench. A Tottenham's team read at the time, Kinsky Danso, Romero, Van Da Ven, Poro Gray, Sars, Spence, Colomawani, Rishalasam, Tell of Adventure, Bacario, Austin, Dragoshine, Roswell, Olesise, Pellina, Gallagher, Javi, Salanki. In the first few minutes you saw some petulence at Jetspens was booked inside the first three minutes for a missed time tackle and then build a come over to you. You are going to try and fly through just how bad things got. They got off to a bad start because disaster in the first six minutes first fell behind. Kinsky tries to roll the ball out to Danso. He's not ready to receive it and the ball is worked to Marcus Larente in tapping home. An absolute mess of a start here, Bill. Yeah, it was just calamitous, wasn't it? You couldn't write it. There was such a big call before the game. Kinsky coming in for Bicarrio, massive call and then just immediately makes a huge error and then obviously as we're talking about a minute, that was only the start of things but just a calamitous error. To be honest, Rick, it reminded me of the Palace game. That five minutes of madness, there's just no defensive structure at the moment of Tottenham and yeah, they were individual errors but also that the collective, we just do not look solid at the back at all and in that first 20 minutes or so, as we'll talk about in a minute, I just have to go out on a field day with us getting through that wheel. There's no defensive base and this goal in particular was a horrific individual error but even beyond that, there's no defensive stability at all. When you consider that, we're playing five at the back. We're playing three centre backs, Romero, Danso and Van De Ven. Most fans will say yeah, that's a back three. It still doesn't look like it, it just doesn't. It's almost if the individuals are, the parts, some of the parts, it's not good and some of the whole. These are good players, good reputations but we just do not look defensively solid so yeah, a horrific individual error but unfortunately that was only the beginning. It was only the beginning, Luke coming over to you. We've seen actually during the game, I think ten players slipped on separate occasions during the entire match itself in this first leg of the two legged tyres and then we're the situation for the second goal where this time it's Mickey Van De Ven at the back from a jet spent header. Van De Ven slips, it allows Grimins to run through with a loose bone, cut into the box to score for two nil and Luke, I think that by two nil we knew the two nil long night. Is that fair Luke? Yeah, 100% as I say, clutching that straws a bit but just to see a bit of character from that two nil point, I thought, yeah, this is going to get real bad and it will come out with no positives whatsoever and the fact that we've scored a couple is obviously a massive positive but yeah, the slip, that pitch is disgraceful for a Champions League game by the way. I know it won't really the reason we lost the game but you should not be doing that on a, that sort of thing should not be happening on a Champions League night. Do you think they've done that on purpose, right? They must have done right? They've done that on purpose. No, it's a political plan. They knew it was a political plan. There's been reports all season. There's been reports on all season about pitch, but they've used it to their advantage but again, I mean, it's not difficult. If you're on a pitch and you slip, go and get longer studs like these footballers, they have probably 10 or 12 different variations of the studs and the lengths that they have in each boot. They have different boots with them all the time. I know I used to collect football player-issued boots, so I know how many boots these players get on a consistent basis. They've got the
they've got bundles in that training. So soon as they go out on the pitch at the start of the game, oh, sorry, when they was warming up, they would have known that this was a slippery pitch. And the one thing again, you want to do in your, specifically a defender, you want to make sure that you have got, when you put your foot down, it stays there. It's not slipping around. When you're up front, you might want to be a little bit more nicer on the heels and moving around a little bit more and everything else. So maybe you can take that risk, but not as a defender. But even in that clip, when you're looking at it, we're looking at a team that have low on confidence, you can see goals left right and centre. And with all due respect, they're not exactly brilliant on the ball. So the whole man's city, the whole idea of playing Tiki Taka, is everyone's confident on the ball, you pick it apart, you pop balls in, you do it quickly, do it. We're not doing that at the moment. We don't have the team, we don't have the confidence. So why Van der Ven is so far apart, but also so much further back is just ridiculous, it's basic, basic stuff. And we're in a position where experts need to, that we need to play games every 15 minutes. That's what we need to do. First 15 minutes, go out, be solid, be difficult to be. Don't give anything away. We've got through 15 minutes. Let's get through the next 15 minutes. And that's what we need to do. And you go away to a difficult game like they make their stadium fantastic, the atmosphere is great. You go away and give away sloppy goals like that. You just run a high into nothing. Yeah. And on the point of being on the high into nothing, that was officially formally confirmed on inside the first 15 minutes because an absolute nightmare for Hanson Kinske. If the first goal was bad, then I'm fortunate. The second one, god, it was kilometers on another level. It's the scribe is curious. Esk for those that were listening back to some of the commentary on BBC. I mean, this moment here where he completely fluffed his past and now has walks the ball in. You know, Romeroch, you went over to Tudor and Vicario came on. Kinske got a hug from bad. And I remember we walked straight down the tunnel. Plina and Salanke actually went after him. I mean, this is a horrendous moment for Kinske. You do wonder how we recover from this because he looks so commonly joined Tottenham. Now, after 14 months, mainly sitting on the bench, it gets a chance to debut away to Africa Madrid. Only his third appearance of the season, 13 overall. I mean, is there any surprise, Mon, that he went as wrong as what it did? Because I did hear Paul Robertson actually say on, I think it was BBC, forgive me that. Selfish from the manager. He knows you'll not be here long. I've never seen that in my whole career. It is clearly for self-preservation with no consideration for the young goalkeeper. Is that fair, Marlon? In this situation, you don't expect a goalkeeper to come in and make those huge mistakes within the first 15 minutes. I mean, why I say that is because Fand of End makes the mistake for a second. It's just an unfortunate event. And this stadium, first of the cycle in his handball, and it's also going to be known for Kinske. It's just what it is. And the problem that you've got is the present moment. When you look at the situation is, our spurs are going to be the club that look half through him and make sure that he's OK. But everything else that preceded that needed to happen, I think that's the only thing that I've ever seen. And for Kario, now get behind him as I said earlier, we need to get behind the players. And as a change of time, I'm going to do get behind the players, make sure they are number one. I've said, I got caught out this week because I've been saying for ages, Kario is a problem, but he's not our biggest problem. And tonight proved it because he came on and the first thing he does, consuming-- May a wonderful save, actually. You're going to have to fall. A wonderful save. No, you're right. They are. React to it. Now that's like for Kario. That's on the players around him not anticipating that he's going to make the save. This is where we're at. So look, it is what it is. It's a mistake. The three goals are mistakes. That's OK. They have literally mistakes. It's got nothing to do with the way-- You're right. Let's do the way Chula set up. Afflecky didn't have to actually play that well to beef free or for no in front. That's the crazy thing about it. And that's the thing. It's got nothing to do with what he actually chula set up. It's literally down to three individual, massive errors. And it was just one of those situations where he went, if you're lucky said he hasn't changed anything. But if there was a gate, he was on a high into nothing. And that's the last thing as a manager. You want to go see a player to do. Agree. Agree. Yeah. I mean, at a horror show for the young checkers of Akim Kilke, but you wonder if it's probably his last game for Tottenham. You can't imagine your roll out again, given that element to it. And don't forget me, there was, I think, Johan Langer that said at the time of signing him that we watched this goalkeeper over and over again on 30 times. 12 times, 12 times. 12 times Johan Langer said we watched him. Look, it may just be Tottenham as a football club. I mean, spurs do crazy things to players. I do crazy things to managers. Kinsky may go on to have a wonderful, very young, very young. So I've had to come with just three goals against Tottenham because the earliest side have ever been three goals ahead in a Champions League knockout stage match, Tottenham breaking all the wrong records. Marlon touched up on the fourth goal there. It was a comment of very good save to stop SARS-Header going into his own net, but Lino Man's headed the ball over the line. But spurs did get one back, Luke, to come round to you. Good work from Michelle Larson. To cut inside, find Pedro Poe. Hit a low shot into the bottom left corner. Poro's actually been speaking a lot during this last week or so around the fact that he's a Tottenham fan. He cares about the football club and where it's going. Pedro Poe, what did you make of him, Luke, on the night? Difficult to really singly individual players out. But he had a very difficult night I thought up against Luke Man. But look, a goal that was never going to make a difference on the night in itself. What did you make of his able to display, Luke? Yeah, again, he's a player for me that he's got a few negatives in his game, with not we're not in a position to sign perfect players. He's got some negatives in his game and you build a squad that are able to let him flourish in certain positions. As an attacking fallback, I think I don't know if we're going to still whack you up, but from a day that he's made these debut, there's no one that's created more chances, got more assists than him from a defensive point of view. So he obviously brings something to it, but he will have negatives, especially on the defensive side. And you need to counteract that, or you move away from him and you bring someone else in. But I feel like he's very, very, I hated within the fan base or get to a lot of negative press in the fan base. When actually, I think most of that, or a lot of that, is actually down to hit the man that he's played. I think he's played an absolutely ridiculous amount of games all the time. And we see when he consistently asks the play of these games, he does see a drop in his form. And I also think that for some reason, Spence came in and had a real, real good, a good few months. But Spence defensively is very, very bad, unless it's a 1v1 situation. Going on talking about Alvarez's second goal, where he run through, Spence just followed Griesman and didn't wasn't aware of any situation that he was in. And if he would have just took a step back, then the Griesman flick to Alvarez doesn't really happen, or if he does, he's then one on one with Alvarez. Instead, he goes chasing after the ball. Griesman flicks it behind and he's left for dead. So I feel like we have specific players in our fan base, where fans just latch onto, and any little thing they do is extremely negative. Now for me, I was really worried about horror today. I thought, are coming up against a lookman who's been in great form. Very, very quick can go both ways, can score goals, can assist. He's going to be given space because that's how Spurs play. And lookman done really well. But actually, horror done OK as well. And horror did offer something going forward, which I think on occasions made athletic think, oh, we can't push up as much as we want here or whatever. So yeah, again, and Marlon's right. Every single one of our players is going to be a problem in some aspects because we haven't got good enough players that are not the Kevin De Bruyne levels and everything else. They're all going to have negatives. What you do is you build a squad that, and you partner them with players that can cover up them issues. So for instance, Romero is not great at running backwards, while pairing with one of the quickest centre-offs in the world. And you've got a little combination there going. And that's the problem we need to do that across the whole of the pitch. But yeah, horror for me is a decent player. And now he's had his little injury. He's been out of the team for a few weeks and now I think we'll hopefully see him play well from now till the end of the season. And fingers crossed, we do see that look on that point. So, I mean, in those all crazy moments of the game, I just want to quickly just touch upon sight, Marlon, to bring you in. We saw what looked at one point, a reckless tackle from Mickey Vand of M, which did go to var. And in a steal, it looks like he's catching a player above or let's be honest about it. You know, in a position where he could have easily been given a red card for this tackle that he made. There's a concern at my Marlon around that.
and the nature of the fact that how focused is he? You know, he slipped for the second goal. Never really looked comfortable during the whole game itself. At this moment where again, he looks like he's patching and he gone in on a player. Will we be very lucky, Master? Not a gone down to 10? - Yeah, we were. But when it went, so when it went to file R4, here we go, E is European, he's gonna get sent off. But because he got the ball first, I think the referee's looked at it and went it. Because he's went for the tackle, he slipped as well. Like, and that's why he's followed through so badly because everyone was slipping and even I think later on Dancer makes a tackle and it was bad because he slipped. So I've got a strange feeling they looked at the situation on the pitch, which I wouldn't put it like, this is European wrestling champions, they examine quite. I'd be quite shocked. But yeah, it was kind of one of those where UN is a very lucky boy that he stayed on that pitch. But I think if you looked at it in a way, because he actually gets the ball first, he actually does and it's then the follow through. And I think that they looked at that. And this is just making the excuse for them what they while they didn't send them off. I think they looked at that and thought he didn't slip. But for me, it was probably a red card, but it was just one of those incidents where we just got away with it, thank God. And no one got hurt as well. - Yeah, very important, great, great point there that we do mention. So going it half time, four, one down, yeah, horrendous first half, Kinski's hauled off. - The first is the Kipotentino's day, we're headed the second half, we make a double sub, collar galaga and salanky replacing tell and kind of my whanies. So we're going on the right wing again, Rick. We got it again. Javi Simmons, the summer signing, who's meant to be one of the very few credit players in the team can't get in until the game's gone quite literally. And I mean, this is so typical top them. I mean, I think Marlon typed up on it there, build a come to you. Five one. So Rachael Sampalk's is an old back into a wonderful save. And if you had blinked for a second, they're not looked back up. Afflecicomodridor on the charge down the other end. And Alvaro is carrying the ball forward. Is it fair to say, Paura gave up? And Alvaro just holds off, spends the fire in for five one build? - Yeah, I think his legs just didn't have it in him. I think, you know, his first game, the second game back from injury, just didn't have the legs to get there. And yeah, so Strange is next, you know. Igor Trude has been doing all this work on fitness, like Alvaro is a particularly quick player, is he so a bit of a strange one? And then obviously Griezmann before that, does more absolute, asked of what you get Griezmann, he's 34 years old. - Mental. - Just get one moment of quality like that and just can't deal with it. It's just, you know, I thought, I honestly thought Richael had some of scores 'cause it was such a give me chance. He was a good save, but he should have done better with that if you got a score from there. - Yep. And that's, you know, when you're in the Champions League playing in the last 16, and you make one mistake like that, you know, it's gone in seconds. That's what happens when you play elite teams like Oletica particularly. You know, Simeone, they thrive off playing on the count, don't they? You know, they ask their dreams, situations such as, you know, what we presented. That is a Simeone team, but it just shows you, you know, one little moment of, it just, the fine margins in football, isn't it? They could have done so, what would have been four three with it? Then it's gone to five two instead. It's like, it was just, was it four? I can't remember what exactly, but obviously the goal was to be one of been different. - Terrible when you're losing Khabat, goals with the season of Oregon. - Yeah. - It's where we are. - We'd even gone to four two or five two, one that five one, everyone. - Yeah. - That's the quality of what happens when you play in the Champions League, you know. - Of course. - It's just, it's just changing. - Yeah. Well, Rachael also gets got book, which means he now misses the home leg. So Lanky fired one back, and like, I think the boys are actually-- - That's a horror test as well, isn't it? - Yeah, horror test. - It's a Lanky. - So Lanky fired one, fired one back for Tottenham. And look, I bet, listen, you go towards the end of that game. You know, you have the clash ahead between Romero and Polina. Polina came off, he looked robber days, and you had Romero crouching the center circle, we couldn't continue either. So Spurs, I think they finished with Niamen, and if those two have concussions, they will not be paying an arm filled on Sunday as well. So where that leaves us in terms of our squad, I mean, it's pure determination, boys, to close it, because we'll probably have a new manager, who knows who that's gonna be. I mean, we said that, we said Tudor had about 11 or 12 players to work with. I mean, it may be even less than that. - I've seen a lot of people confused as well, because if Palinia and Romero didn't technically come off as concussion subs, they were-- - No, no. - It's down to the club basically now, which is a bit worrying, really, because the last thing we want to be doing is chucking in a concussed player against Liverpool, but-- - Yeah. - We're at a point where we might have to, you know what I mean, like it's down to the club now, essentially, because otherwise it would have been a 10-day protocol where I've had a concussed concussion subs. - Okay, so we have to then see where we land on that, but boys, just to close it, 'cause it has been a, another always powerful show of last but unspursed. We never seem to have quiet ones at the moment. It just feels like, you know, we'll be back in 24 hours with another emergency podcast. - Honestly, I mean, it's so funny, 'cause Bill said to me, "You like months ago, we're frank." Bill kept saying to me, "We've got that frake emergency podcast "il stored away to do." Surely we're not going to wait that long for Tudor's one, are we? Surely we're going to be tomorrow, mate. I hope you can clear the diary for tomorrow, 'cause it'll probably be tomorrow. - So this is where I am going to get divorced. Let's close it. Let's close it. Luke, you fully expect an emergency beer by the morning, by tomorrow? - As I say quite often, if it was any other club, yes, at Spurs, it wouldn't surprise me if we in that he was an answer 10-year deal tomorrow. (laughing) - It's Tottenham. Marlon, thank you so much for listening to an audio. Marlon's just about keeping his eyes open, but it's a tough trick out at least shows. Marlon, thank you so much, mate. If everyone knew what you were doing in the back end before this show, and how you were helping out, he's been the man in the production beforehand. Marlon, thank you so much, Marlon's just to confirm you fully expect a new man of the helm. Come here and fill it on Sunday. - Yes, yes, yes, yes. - And Bill to close it with you, 'cause I was leaving Billion one nine, I was letting him come back to us on. Who was the last Spurs manager to Winner and Phil, Bill? - The man is going to be in the jungle, my friends. I'm a Tottenham manager, get me out of here, is what is going to end up there. (laughing) - Well, Harry Redett was the last Spurs manager to Winner and Phil. Do we dare put him in the position where he's back in the dugout again, but the thing that's quite fascinating to close it on is that we had this discussion of the manager in the early part of the show for a good half hour, and none of us, none of us could say decisively, that's the next man. That's quite scary because then you think they've got to make the decision. And they're going to get it right, even if we can't come to that conclusion. And I'm not saying we all get things right, but they've got to try and get the right man. - For him, it's Cheltenham as well, isn't it? So we can't get him to at least from Saturday. Phil's trying to talk to him about that. - Phil's doing boxes over, he boxes out. - You can't get him back, he's eight years old. Spurs over in our lives, don't ruin these. I tell you, but whoever comes into this job, it is a challenge in your health, isn't it? I mean, I was thinking early about even if I could clean Hoddle and Harry Redneck combination, but both of them bless him. - That should be one of the bush chucker trials in the new I'm a celeb, the winner has to manage Tottenham for eight games. (laughing) - Momentous one, it is. Momentous one, it is, I tell you. - Isn't it a sad decline at Tottenham? I mean, it's a no to respect to him, because I think he's a great guy outside of football. But when Sean Dyes people were saying, he's the man to get, I mean, you know, we are in an absolute mess. - That's right, that's right, that's right. - Yeah. - Can he come and do it? - You know, Warlock said he was surprised he didn't get the call, doesn't he? - Yes, that's right. - Yeah, and just on Glennon, Harry, thanks to King Hoddle here, I can buy an eight of 160, but it's 160 years of wisdom of knowledge. - Sure. - Maybe we should get it to us for. We probably got that, that can buy an eight. - I tell you what, come the final nine games is six, I feel like I'm 160. Keep adding to what else could happen in these final remaining nine, Premier League games, I've all filled 160. I want to say, I'm actually thank you too. I wonder for audience that have been with us throughout the journey, thank you ever so much. I want to say, I'm massive, thank you to Marlon, I'm at Spurs Kings, Marlon, thank you. The same to Luke, over at Spollon Spurs, and the same to the Calls to Ability over at the whistle blows, and also like Bill was said earlier in the part of the show, change for Tottenham. It is a time now to get behind the players, because really look, I think the one thing is clear, we can't decide who is going to get us out of it, but the players will have a massive, massive say, as Henry went to set us over the weekend, if we're going to be a Premier League club, if we're going to survive. So listen, from Marlon, from Luke, from Bill, from me, we've been the last one on Spurs, who knows what comes next, please keep safe, keep well. And as always, come on, you Spurs.

Summary:
Transkriptio keskittyy Tottenham Hotspur -jalkapallojoukkueen kriisitilanteeseen päävalmentaja Igor Tudorin alaisuudessa.
