little critical of the system and critical of like the everyday life of black people especially like my mother very anti-street my dad chose to kind of go to straight and narrow cuz you know he got brothers and sisters and mama in the street and he grew up in that environment so tough that he wanted to get away from so the the way that they put a scope on it is not necessarily about demeaning them folks but setting it up like it's a system then it's a play and you know I'm always like I'd be outside they need to be doing two plus two that should make a foe and to me like this ain't no conspiracy but I also like not thinking about the history of the shit how it's stored I'm not thinking about none of these shit they think about and once you kind of like you keep going to the county and shit like that it's like but it shit really stupid man like cuz cuz I feel I'm very I think very highly of myself I know I'm smart I know I'm cares maybe I got the personality I do the same shit as y'all I just don't do it like y'all but then we all live it up in the same spot

That's why I was at with the music shit. And I was like, shit, I was just wanting no more. It's other shit out here to know. And the shit peaked my interest. It was way more than this bullshit. And I think once you just start literature, you start understand that Panther Party you start understanding the nation of Islam and they movement, civil rights movement. Then you go even further back, reconstruction. Then you go further back, the origin of slavery and religion. You just, you start uncovering a lot of shit. - It was a rebel. - You go down that rebel hug. And one thing I know about a rebel hug is if you ain't know if somebody else has been a number four, right? So shit, now just, I'ma go through the motherfuckin' until I come out on the other side. And I think for me, it's never been a thing of taking shit at face value is I'ma do the research. I'ma read the literature. I'ma listen to the lectures. I'ma take what me would make sense to me. I'ma take that person on this guard. 'Cause everybody, regardless of how astute they are, they always got a person stuck in the game. You know what I'm saying? So that's the same way I treated pastors when I was in church. I'ma listen to the sermon. I'ma take the things that make sense to me. And I'ma discard the risk. - That's the safe thing to do. - Yeah, and that's just, that been me since I was a little boy. - It makes sense. - So, you know, we got that in common with Pastor Posey, Rizm. - Yeah, yeah, man. - So Pastor Rizm, he used to preach a fire word. And my granny used to be like, "Cut, I only want to pay attention in church. I don't depend on that. And, you know, he didn't do that now. But, when it was time, right? And he never made no big deal about me being in church and then like that. We didn't know of that. But he did, you know, at the service, invite me to his office and say, "Son, you know, we appreciate you for coming. I'm just gonna tell you." We need to fix the AC unit. You ain't trying to put on no extra shows. - And he ain't trying to handle you in front of everybody. - Anytime you was in church, even as a child, I never knew you was there until after church. - Ooh. - It wasn't nothing. He is an example that there are, even though the system of church or religion, the system may be built on business. - Mm-hmm. - But there are true participants who really do believe in what they do. - And they righteous, and they ain't hurting for nothing. - Right. - Like in a real way, that it is, it may go through problems, but that's why I'm critical of everything that I'm critical. How do you think he stopped doing that and set the right example? I think it's just perspective and change the energy, right? The same energy you'll give to quote unquote failure, right? Like we understand this system. We understand brothers are funnel into systems of oppression, right? Preschooled prison, pipeline, all these different things. At the end of the day, there is something to account for a decision making tool. And you come home from prison, I'm glad you home, but we ain't gonna get at the energy, if we ain't gonna get that same energy to a young man that call home with his degree. So I think it's flippin' it like, young man call home with a degree. That's a part of the, you call him prison? Hey, we gonna put you on with the program. There we go. - Yeah. And the way a lot of people that have done got their degrees might not necessarily be practicing what they feel, especially not done. As you know what I'm saying? And they didn't incur a lot of debt. But I think if we want to continue seeing our people strive academically and things like that, that they should at least be encouraged and celebrate it on their way. I could see how people who come home from college fear that way. And you guys think about what it does to a child when he sees that So if a child see you come home from prison you can celebrate it more than your cousin then when the cops you come home And it's like well, he home now get a job. You got you got a degree You know young man could be going to get a trade. He should be encouraged. He should have the backing It shouldn't be A pattern of skytight ideas, but I saw a young women too. I think a young women are expected to be excellent And oftentimes not a knowledge for how many strives they make Oftentimes it's just so expected that I'm to be excellent That it's not a knowledge So it's like shit y'all ain't said y'all ain't through me now party y'all ain't said thank you But y'all know I'm up y'all know I make the good company y'all call me the enemy for money But not the second congratulations on the promotion. I Understand the fear for young men Being out like you dealing with the police you dealing with other niggas in the street You know, I'm saying or even if you go out to the corporate well, you dealing with being the first You dealing with a certain level of discrimination if you hold your head to high So I think there's a healthy fear that predate any of this academic shit. This could be some Jim Crow Embedded in the system of how we raise our kids how we rear our kids. This should go all the way back to slavery Exactly, everything that is so I understand having a healthy fear And protecting the brute so to speak, but I think that There's a silent expectation that come from our women on the other side of that where they are making strides They're they're excellent in business. They excellent academics the greatest asset the earth has the alpha is a 100 100% so I think If when it's so expected that's even another aspect of like we need to acknowledge that too. I think because Of what the system is and how it target our men specifically That's why I focus is when they target is is what we put our focus and a lot of people in the shadows doing great work That's right or not being a knowledge and then when they When they say something about not being a knowledge to come off as bitter or in title or X Y and Z When it's like we could spread the love across the board and if we have an understanding of the system at this point We got to understand this is in versus mistakes You know, I'm saying when I went to go speak at crime I was talking to them about trades Down on them about it, but they know everything about the street. My grandma really wasn't living in itself. But also the bravery part is like, but I went scared to try niggas when it was life or death, bro.
