departments two and you know one of the cast members you know were just introduced to the department's university part two the other three uh actually kicked the dough down with departments one and we're going to talk about the experiences we're going to talk about what they learned we're going to talk about how the the second one was different from the first one uh and all of them you know have a different connection to me so it's going to be interesting to have this conversation uh three two of them are comedians and one of them is just funny naturally and he can't help himself yeah we have said i think you said it best a family reunion a kickback being around your brothers your homies people who really get to create and you like oh that's funny you get to see people in a different light you get to see them stretch themselves out like obviously basically you thought these niggas weren't shitting i couldn't read nothing i got the script like oh they all script look at them and but i also saw them take the script and make it their own and i was just super impressed by all the comedians i ain't got no mail mail yeah all i got is bills you still ain't paid the last bill how you selling all that bullshit weed and your electricity still on nigga because i wanted to feel like a trap you got that feeling don't you hell down okay hey uh king king king yes sir man what's up man tell me what how was your experience different on the second one than it was for the third one bro it wasn't different man i felt like i was at home you know what i'm saying it was the uh same same people you know i'm saying it was it was some new faces but they blended in real quick it was just real genuine set like you know what i'm saying okay like it felt like going to school and you just in the gym the whole day that's exactly what it felt like from 7 to 3 30 you just so it was it was really it was really just fun man um you know how you spent your days i mean you spent your days detention was fun too yeah you can make it fun with the right crew yeah you in there with the right ones but yeah man it was i like my character man my character got a little you know he's a little player man you know what i'm saying he's figuring it out and when i asked you know what was one of the funniest things that was said somebody said when when k-dub said the nav looked like saucer santana i just felt like some shit could have got cut off who was behind the edits that's what you really got to talk about because i bet you did a voiceover with that shit i don't even remember what i'm saying no he said it he said it oh man can we talk about the fact that robin ann said papa's a pussy what's his name jesse jesse i don't know if he fell for real for real or he but that's what i'm saying that shit was golden this movie really allowed jesse from milwaukee too no jesse from arkansas okay got it yeah he's just being there a little bit yeah he's just being there a little bit lot okay but this movie was it was it was magical it was magical you let people do them right and people got recognized by doing them when justin screamed out boy they ain't gonna take us that's how mad he was mad that day for real yeah he was actually mad hey man shout out to jesse whitehead and uh and jesse man uh oh and uh and blanco the bank had bounce scene was funny too oh yeah one time for get cool you still were doing it like it's certain stuff yeah get cool play man you gotta watch and realize the humor and stuff yeah yeah get cool he did his thing watching it by myself at home my family i was watching it like from a creator's eye but watch you want to know it's crazy it felt different from the scene when he bought the water bottle i was waiting for the bank head bounce i'm like because it didn't come up right after he bought the water bottle i'm like bro where's the bank head bound then when it came back on the screen i started crying yeah i think even the editor man we was in the edit room and we saw i they was laughing at so many parts that's why you can't watch movies with people so when king was doing that i'm like y'all chill you're about to like they still laughing at some other i'm like man i'm gonna watch this at home yeah but you can't you were interrupted for other people other people gonna find so that's you know i mean funny to them but the flow was so smooth y'all were so smooth like the the cast i mean the behind the scene people that's what made that's what created the energy behind the but i'm talking about the crew yeah the crew okay the people that that make the the world come together because a lot of time it'd be so tense but y'all was like do it and we was like okay yeah money bag is an animal boy yeah money back crazy he got off when he's been crazy in there yeah that scene the white that to see her booty like that that's the favorite scene y'all don't think about nothing man you should pause about everything like hey man come here what would i say what would i say like my sense of humor is kind of like regular like you don't like too much ain't funny to me right where it's like you not trying to do too much like write that funny yeah it's where it's funny not trying to be funny because um i think i just talk with different delivery to kind of make it make something that's not supposed to be funny sound funny and i like to just kind of go off of the last thing i heard what was said so i like to improv most most of it okay but i got good people right here to improv off of you know yeah i we we roast each other every day we see each other hey man one of the funny one of the funniest boys that i saw with king when he came when y'all when y'all had to hit your league and king said but y'all got it going on don't you how old is that who said that was that loads of somebody y'all say y'all got it going on well i think people don't know with king like of course we older than king but king had us doing that he like king since the first apartment king was gambling on set so it's like now over that going to king trailer he ordering food on i'm saying before he gets that like when he's gonna hang with king kill the other king don't tell them we know it's good we know it's rubbish weed i'll tell you that i'm right here doing hey look you want to know what's so funny that was so funny you don't know you got me two It was we were shooting in Blue Flame. And somebody was rolling their weed, but their phone went off. And he said, man, who's phone is that? They ran out. Somebody said, can you drop this weed on the floor? I said, hell yeah. Come on with it. Whoever that is is going to see this interview and say, hey, man, you know you're on the train. Yeah, yeah, because he came back. So three years after I knew him, I said, bro, that was me that had to got the weed. Oh, so you actually took it? Because when he came back in, he said, damn, man, I dropped two zips, man. Somebody got me. I said, damn. Did you drop the muck, boy? Oh, God. Now that's a crazy thing. Did you look over here? Hey, three years later, I said, bro, you know what? You're a cool nigga. You end up being cool. I took that weed, man. Did you give anything back? Huh? Did you pay? Huh? He really needed that if he just lost his hood. Oh, man. Goodness, man. Tell me the difference between shooting Departments 1 and Departments 2. You don't have to answer this, kid. Two was a movie. One, we was like, it was supposed to be episodic. Yeah. So you brought that together to make that a movie. Shooting Departments 2, we knew we had a movie. We knew what was the ending going to be. Departments 1, we thought we had some more episodes. And then it would rain. Y'all come up with ideas off the fly. So it was like, just put that together. Departments 1 actually came out so good that Departments 2 was able to be a movie. And it would feel more money on Departments 2. Well, it probably wouldn't, but they made it better with the resources. We had one trailer on Departments 1. Then it became two. It became two. I had my own trailer. Yeah, that's what I'm talking about. That's what I'm talking about. We set the foundation for it. We were standing in the apartment. We were changing clothes outside behind the tree. We was in somebody's real house. The first apartment we did the crate challenge. We out there doing all type of shit. We had to entertain ourselves on the first one. We didn't realize that was some people's house for real. Like, niggas were treating it like it was a set. But they like, hey man, you can't just put your feet on that. Niggas just sitting there just putting their feet on it. But they scared to say something. What's one thing that y'all learned about each other while filming this movie? K-Dub ain't got no filter. I mean, I kind of already knew that. But the movie kind of just let me know, like, he'll do this shit on camera. He's not just. He not pretending. Yeah, it's different when we. I'm going to die about this shit, man. I'm going to die. I'm going to pee on me right now. Man, whoever is not to talk about, he would talk about him. Yeah. And that's why I was like, man, this man is a real, like. He's standing on this shit, man. He not pretending. I'm going to die. Yeah. He not pretending. Yeah. It's different when we. man whoever is not to talk about he would talk about him and that's why i was like man this man is a real like he's standing on this shit i enjoyed it i can tell you this man what i i didn't learn much about everybody i already knew everybody i kind of raised all these i was in heaven i was in heaven because i ain't never cared to do a movie i'm not auditioning for one i don't care being one like this that was heaven for me why i don't want to do me and you partner but allegedly allegedly because i don't say that shit in public i don't want to say it in public you but uh no i i wasn't happy because i'm shooting a goddamn real movie that's gonna be seen and i'm able to do me and i ain't really have to do much even though i over the years i guess i put work after but i ain't have to wonder and i want no eggshells or nothing plus i wouldn't even end this movie when i have the one told me i was shooting a movie yeah we tried to leave that i know you really did you're not ready now so listen to me they have called me i knew don't nobody's called me you know man i'm gonna call me man and i said uh why you wasn't at the table reading today and i was like what table reading he said let me call you back i felt like i had talked to you you did you did when he called tip right away next thing i know that he was gonna say now pick up quick man he read that room quick now it was like but sometimes like you need certain people even like to bring somebody else up at the part like with k dub and certain scenes like when he in the scene with like hearing welch when they going at it like you know what i'm saying he's just a good person to have on like a lot of people think he's a bad person yes which he is yes he is he's not that vision he want he want the he want the ultimate goal to be a championship yeah and now you need a player like that you know like a michael irving one of them players like you know what i mean yeah it's getting worse and worse the movie, I'm like, damn, y'all really was going, I could have said more, did y'all I feel like you could have said more in scenes like man could've been funnier. Yeah, but sometimes I think it was like is it's a Conversation - yeah Yeah, like I think a lot of times and we need mention that nigga Jay ski was getting off That's one scene. I wish I would have been a part of that church Work, you know, he was Hollywood. He had somewhere Yeah You weren't present you weren't present none that day but it could open the came out where the case there came my good So tell me how much of your character each of you how much of your character is actually You and and how much did you have to pull, you know from your experiences to put into the character? It's been an experience, man. Man. It's just, it's an honor to be there. Just to see all of the problems, the goods, the bads, pros and cons. Seeing how you handle them. How do I handle them? What problems you be seeing? I mean, hey. Well, last show, the sound was messing up. So seeing you get on that. But the money, this was so funny. About the money. So the money, I'm like, bro, we got to. You're like, well, his sound messing up. But I know my sound's not going to mess up. I'm like, how the hell you know that? He's like, I just know. Go out there. Sound messed up. I said, see, I told you. So it's just seeing you go communicate to the boy, like, hey, do this, do this. Get back in your zone. It's just show how to be professional. And be hands-on with what you're doing and your tour. I think that's what the fans actually pay for when they come out to see a tour. Of course, they can hear the music in the car, but the experience of how the artists adjust to the unexpected. Like, if the sound go out completely, what the artists going to do? They get to see that moment. I think that's what people pay for when they come to a tour. I think it's like a build-up, too, when that happens. Because, like. When it first happened, they started chanting, we want dip, we want dip. It showed how much people really want you. So it's like. You started that chant. She started it from home. Hey, you know what I think? I think I'm just asking this question. It's not related to any of the initial questions for you, King. I think I've seen people ask how your life has changed. Since you had a son. Since you're a father now. How have you changed? How's your attitude changed? How's your outlook on life changed? It's changed quicker than it was changing, for sure. What does that mean, King? I was always pushing to change for the better. We just said we couldn't see it. It just takes time. This just sped the time up. So I can say that. But I just tried to lately. Just not engage in problems or try to stay away. So you mean to tell me you can have a problem and then not even just address it. You could just have a problem and go about your business and focus on something positive. Yeah. So my new saying is my opinion don't matter. So I might form it, but I want you to know it don't matter. If I feel like you eat too much and I say, bro, you eat too much. Know that that don't matter. So it's like I've been trying to more like make it seem like if I do say something, what I'm saying don't matter. So it don't. So they don't feel no way. So they don't feel like I'm trying to belittle or act like this or do this. So I just try to find different ways to resolve problems. So you wake up every day with improving on your mind. Yeah.
