Speaker 1Galatians chapter 5 and verse 25. Now this is the most important series teaching you've ever heard in your life. Now, if you've been around long enough, you know, I say that every beginning of every series, but this time, believe me, I'm telling you, believe me this time, believe me, this one is the most important, most important, most important. And I actually mean it because learning to be led of God's spirit is the most important skill. That you can develop. Now, I need to say this very quickly. We have at least in terms of documented teaching series around this subject, about four or five of them. So I'm not going to go into the basics, foundational stuff. The Lord would have me address certain areas of the subject that generally is not addressed and that we have not given time to as well as a church. So we're building up on that now. But then I'm sure the resident pastor will help you with how to get those materials. True enough and I'm hearing God, those two series, true enough and hearing God, please ensure that you get those teachings and you feast on them this month before I go far. Hallelujah. Galatians chapter 5 verse 25. Let's get started this morning. Popular text. If you, Galatians 5 is very popular. If you give your life to Christ in the 90s or the early 2000s. Okay. Where we had a lot of strong emphasis that came out of the scripture union movement. It's you new guys that are now in Pauline Epistles. You know, the part of Pauline Epistles I'm talking about, but then this used to be a very popular text, the entire chapter, but look at what it says, and I want us to read it together. That's going to be our core text for the entire series want to go, what does it say, if we leave in the spirit, let us also walk in the spirit now to help us very quickly you if you study the Pauline Epistles, Paul was a lawyer, okay, so grammar was never his issue. He was very brilliant, he wasn't just a lawyer, he was a brilliant lawyer, and so many of the things he wrote, he would write them from a very intelligent standpoint. One of the ways that he tried to communicate spiritual truth was by using what we call rhetorical questions. Okay, so if you read the Epistles of Paul, you'll see a couple of those rhetorics. For example, if the spirit. Now, he had just told us about this spirit from chapter 8 verse 1 downwards, and he then comes and says, if, almost as though he's questioning what he said before, but it's like you saying to somebody, this speaker has the capacity to produce such and such amount of sound, this decibels of sound, and then you say, if we power the speaker. Now, what you're trying. What you're trying to tell the person is, listen, this is the possibility thereof, you're strengthening the thought, you're trying to get the person to imagine and think it through. So he says, if the spirit of him that raised Jesus from the dead dwells in your mortal bodies, imagine what he will do. Now, he says, if we live in the spirit, that's a rhetoric, we live in the spirit. Are you following what I'm saying here? He says, if we live in the spirit, there is what is expected of us. He doesn't say that this will happen naturally. Naturally, because we live in the spirit, he says, this is expected because we live in the spirit. What is expected? He says, let us also do what? Walk in the spirit. Tell the person beside you, walk in the spirit. And so we're looking in this entire month at how to be in sync, alignment with the Holy Spirit. And it's either of two things. You are either sinking with the spirit of the Lord, and that's not even trying to be cute or anything. It's either you're sinking. You're sinking with the spirit of the Lord, or you are sinking in the world. There is no middle line. There's no middle line. It's important that you understand that. Listen, the Lord said this to me, and I've said it before, that the most important skill that a believer, the single one most important skill that a believer will develop in these last days, or needs to develop in these last days, is how to be led by God's spirit. When darkness increases, light is not an option. Are you listening? Listen to what I'm saying here. The Bible says that in the last days, darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people. Darkness shall cover the earth and gross darkness the people. Now, if the Bible promises us, literally, it's a word of prophecy that darkness will cover the earth and gross darkness the people, then we must as well agree that in the last days, walking and functioning by light is not an option. It can be and will be many a times. The difference between life and death. It will be the difference between some prayer points and rest. Can I tell you something? That many of the prayers that believers are praying, if only we followed the voice of the spirit, they will never have made it to our prayer list. They will never have made it to our prayer list, if only we followed the voice of the spirit. What am I saying to you? I'm saying to you that the voice of God is a non-negotiable. It's a non-negotiable. It's not something that you can say, oh, I'm not going to do this. It's not something I can or cannot have. A million times, no. A million times, no. It's not something that you can choose whether or not you should have or you shouldn't have. A million times, no. It will make the difference between failure and success. It will be the difference between you fulfilling the call of God on your life, fulfilling God's assignment on your life, and you not fulfilling it. No matter how sincere you are. Sincerity cannot replace litany. no matter how sincere you are sincere i mean you are you are genuinely it cannot replace the necessity the need the importance the fact that the leading of god's spirit is not an option every believer must learn how to be led by god's spirit and oh by the way everyone is being led already whether you know it or not everyone don't say well me you know it's the pastors and the prophets and the teachers and they no no no no no no a million times no you see there are things that comes with the new creation one of the things that comes with the new creation is the ability to hear the voice i'll show you that in just a bit it's not something you pray for it's not something you beg god for it's something you awaken to you just awaken to it i can be led i can i can know his voice i can hear his voice so please this series is not one for you to take lightly at all even if you've had a journey with the lord a walk with the lord where you can tell that oh you know yes i know the voice of the lord it can get sharper it can get better and it can get better and it can get better even me for me it gets better glory to god it can get better it can get sharper it can get listen to me this thing is a non-negotiable there are many things that are negotiable so let me be very sincere with you there are many things in life that are in the last days i'm speaking about the character of the last days it tells us that gross darkness shall cover the end he said men shall wax more evil in the last days particularly in the last days it's not an option it's not an option put your child in the wrong school and your entire parenting is gone just the wrong school thank god god has delivered some of you now but you know yourselves before god delivered you you were a chimney everywhere and all of it started by meeting a wrong person just one guy that came and said taste it no no no i don't do taste it no no i don't do that's it now you are in prayer and prayer that god should break the hold of something that just came as a suggestion because you are at the wrong place at the right time if somebody listens to what i'm saying here the things that the trajectory of our lives are never great they don't look big just one association just one teacher are you following what i'm saying here just meeting one right person one wrong person elijah i have commanded the ravens to feed you there and if he didn't know the voice of god's spirit when the brook dried up he would have been praying oh god you are the god of restoration el restaurate and he would have prayed over and over and over and over and there'll be no answer because god had moved I have now commanded a widow to sustain you. The frustration we have in our lives many a times is not because we are not sincere. It's not because we are not genuine people. Neither is it because God is not powerful. Many a times it's because we haven't captured his voice. Mary, the mother of Jesus said to the disciples, Whatever he tells you to do, that's what you should stay with. Think of it. I've shared this with you before. Think of a ceremony where the wine is finished. If you have ever attended a wedding party and you have ever seen food finished before. Let's imagine, well, I mean, not food finished you as the receiver. Because you'll just be angry and all dressed and be writing on status. Can you imagine these people, they passed out the meals, they didn't give me food. That's what will happen there. Glory to God. But imagine that you are the celebrant, the owner of the ceremony. And then the food finishes. What happens? Have you ever seen a mother whose daughter is married? The excitement. The thrill and everything. What happens there? She's making every call. Ah, don't embarrass me here. And then Mary, the mother of Jesus says to the disciples, All you should do is stay on Jesus. Whatever he tells you to do. Do you know how irresponsible they would have looked? And everybody is running out of shelter. Calling whoever they know. Please, give me that vendor. Please send me contact. And everybody and some guys were just seated somewhere with their hands. You people are very irresponsible. No, we know what we are doing. What are you doing? We are waiting for his voice. Can I tell you this? Ascertaining the voice of God's spirit is never wasted time. Because what you do is not what determines the value of your life. It is what you hear. It is what is behind what you are doing. The voice behind the action. If somebody listens to what I'm saying here. So when we speak about the voice of God's spirit, aligning our lives, syncing our lives with God's spirit, it is not an option. It is not an option. It is not an option at all. It is the difference between life and death. It is the difference between progress, living an average life, a mediocre life, and living the life that God has called you to live. Glory to God. Now, the Holy Spirit is several times described as the wind in scriptures. And you know what you do with the wind. So far as I understand this, you are not trying to create the wind. What you are trying to do is this. Find the direction of the wind. Are you following what I am saying? And then do what? Catch the wave. Jump on the wave. So our job is not to create our way. Our job is not to design our path. John 3, chapter 8, verse. The spirit bloweth where it listeth. Doesn't take permission from you. Bloweth where it listeth. Your job is to find out where is it going. Where is the spirit going? And then align yourself with what the Holy Spirit is doing. Align yourself with what the Holy Spirit is doing. Now, when it comes to the Holy Spirit, when it comes to the subject of being led by God's spirit, there are usually two very distinct categories of people. You have number one, those who sincerely are always hearing something. I don't know if you know what I am talking about. I am a pastor, so I counsel every now and then. But they are always hearing something. There is always something that they have heard. Something new. And usually what they are hearing is different from what they heard yesterday. And amazingly, they always come up with great excitement. Pastor, pastor, pastor, my God, I've seen it. I've seen it. By Friday, my God, leave that one. I've seen it now. They are always hearing something. They are always hearing, but they never do anything. The problem many a time is that such people do not know how to distinguish between the several voices in the world. Paul said, he said, there are many voices in the world. And he said, none is without significance. There are many voices. And so, learning to be led by God's spirit, is actually the art of elimination. Learning how to eliminate those voices. This is the voice of the flesh. This is the voice of my mind. This is the voice of social media. This is the, you get what I am saying here. Because that's a new voice. In the days of Paul, there was no voice of social media. There is a new one now. The voice of social media. And I think that's the loudest voice. Loudest voice. Glory to God. And so, learning to be led by God's spirit. Then you have the second category of persons who are too careful. They are so, so concerned that they don't want to make a mistake. And these ones are usually the OGs of the faith. Those who have been in the faith long enough. You know. And then maybe they've had experiences. So, every now and then, it's ascertaining. I'm checking if it's the voice of God. Seven years. You're still checking if it's the voice of God. I want to be sure. I can't make no mistake. Pastor, you had one that said, inquire and inquire again. So, I'm inquiring and inquiring. And you're always inquiring. Until God has even said, well, if you want to do it, do it. Don't disturb me again. Glory to God. The question is, how do we ascertain His voice? How can you beat your chest and say, this is what God is saying? Because you can. You can. The Christian life is not a life of probability. It's a life of precision. Please write it down. Precision and accuracy. Listen to me. Being led by God's Spirit, if you're looking into the Old Testament, was largely under what you call the poor view of the priesthood. All right? And everything within the priesthood was an accurate thing. You don't move a step beyond what was instructed. It was accurate. The priesthood is an accurate thing. Being led by God's Spirit is an accurate thing. You can come to a place where you're saying, listen, this is what the Lord said, and I know what the Lord is saying. You can, with that boldness, march through life. And even when everything looks opposite, because that God said it does not mean it will work immediately. That God showed you all, you are sure that this is the direction and instruction of God's Spirit does not mean that everything is going to fall in line. It doesn't mean. In fact, many a times, that's when everything begins to not fall in line. Glory to God. But that assurance that the voice of the Lord has come to me, we were in the middle, the middle of a revival, my God. Massive, everything breaking out on every side. Powerful move of God's Spirit. Right there in the city of Abuja. In the middle of a great walk. We had just finished a mighty convention and immediately I lost my peace. I mean, great prophetic words. Somebody had just given us a land valued at about 900 million, 1 billion naira. We're planning that, oh, it's, well, this is, it's time we are going to build. I had already told my pastor some of the things we're going to do and all the rest. And right in the middle of it, I lost my peace. I would come to church and there, it was, people would say they were blessed, but I knew it was gone. Literally, the cloud had moved. Then it got worse. I would sit down in my office and I would see kidnappers carrying my family. I'm not given to fear. I mean, you know, there are people that are given to fear. It's not one of the things that I struggle with. I have no issue, no fear. I'm not given to all of those. And then, literally, I would lie on my bed and I would wake up sometimes feeling that there was somebody at the door. Do you understand what I'm saying here? We are driving home. I'm driving myself back home from Wednesday service and I am wondering what is going on. So I knew there was a problem. I knew there was a problem. So I said to my mother, I said, well, let's go to where it started. So we went to Redemption Camp. That's where I heard the voice of God concerning everything that we're doing. And then, so I went to Redemption Camp. And she will remember that night. I had stepped out to go on a prayer strew the first night. And as I was on the strew, the Lord said, what are you doing here? Have I not told you? Then he began to speak. It was then he dawned on me that he actually, at the beginning of everything I told her, I said, listen, we're going to go to Abuja at a certain point. And God gave me a time period. Do you realize that? In fact, looking back, it is even now that I'm remembering that I had even exceeded the time he gave. I was meant to be there. We were meant to be there for five years. We were there for six years. So I mean, and we're just enjoying life. Everything was moving smoothly till we forgot God's voice. And then the cloud moved. Pastor Nat and I were talking and then he said this to me. He said, if not that I know you hear God, may I say still, he said, because the way that thing was pushing, I knew something was about to break out. What is the use of staying in a revival when the cloud has broken? When the cloud has moved? Ask Philip. Right in the middle of a revival in Samaria, God picked him up to go meet one man. By human standards, that's failure. By God's standards, that's progress. How do you move from an entire city coming under the influence of the gospel to having to preach to one man? By the way, all of you seated here, it is that instruction that Philip obeyed that has brought you here. Because that was the first time the message was preached. Not that somebody was involved. We understand the siren who helped with the cross, but that the message was preached to an African and that an African received the message. And that message came fully into this continent. It was by the obedience of Philip. So all of you sitting here, when you get to heaven, please, give him prophets of faith. Are you listening to what I'm saying here? Just that simple obedience of leave this place, and jump there. You see many a times in following God it is not the end that justifies the means well it's not we are not trying because many a times you don't even know why he said this until we get to heaven Philip may never know until now and then he sees the fruit of that obedience the fruit of obeying and following the instruction of God's spirit my prayer for you is this your ears are open and your eyes are open in the name of Jesus many marriage problems are not marriage problems they are choosing problems did you hear what I said what we call marriage problems 90% of them are not marriage problems they are choosing problems which means at the point of choice you determine destiny oh sure the mercy of God prevails are you following what I'm saying but like I said there are many prayer points we don't have to pray if only we would be led by the spirit of God if only we'll be led by the spirit of the Lord now let's look at a couple of facts about divine leading let's establish a couple of facts these are scriptural facts divine facts about divine leading number one and let's say together divine leading is promised so me it is promised so me it is promised it is not something we are trying to get God to do it's not something we are trying to get God to do it's not something we are trying to get God to do it is something he promised to do you see the premise of faith is the will of God which means faith cannot be exercised outside what God has shown us to be his will are you following what I'm saying here and so we can't exercise our faith for something and believe for something save that we know that this is the will of God it is promised the word of God shows us clearly that it's the will of God it's the promise of God to grant you divine leading Psalm 32 and clearly that it's the will of God it's the promise of God it's the promise of God to grant you divine leading Psalm 32 and verse 8 can we read together one to go what does it say I will instruct thee and teach thee in the way which thou shalt go who is he talking about come and talk to me who's he talking about you he says I will instruct thee and teach thee in what the way which thou shalt go and I will guide you with mine eye he says be not as the horse or as the mule which have no understanding whose mouth must be held with beat and bridle lest they come near unto thee I will instruct thee I will teach thee say this with me the Lord is instructing me come on say it again with boldness and faith the Lord is instructing me and the Lord is teaching me in the way that I should go come on say it again the Lord is instructing me and the Lord is teaching me in the way that I should go say there's no error in my life no error no error in my life Psalm 37 please take note of these scriptures we have a teaching or a video where I give I think about 10 or 20 scriptures on divine leading and if you have the time you can go through it if not it's okay take these scriptures and these are scriptures for meditation and confession in your own secret place look at what it says Psalm 37 verse 23 now 37 verse 23 of the book of Psalms I wanted to note that the word good if you read your old King James is italicized so that you don't start you know some people where particularly when you've not been instructed well in the message of the of of the the message of the cross all right what Christ has done for us so you start excluding yourself say well maybe because I'm not a good man but that's not what he says the steps of a man that's what the Bible says the steps of a man are what ordered by the Lord now somebody said it's my steps are ordered by the Lord come on say it one more time my steps are ordered by the Lord and guess what he says he says the Lord delighted where in his way in your way now then he says though he fall he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord upholded him with his hand usually many times we are confessing scriptures and we don't look at the context if he falls and the Lord was not directing him he will fall and he will stay there but he says because his steps are ordered by the Lord though he falls do you see that though he falls he shall not be utterly cast down for the Lord upholded him with what his right hand are you still here this morning I love this one Isaiah 48 verse 17 please take note of these scriptures the first thing we're establishing here is that divine leading is promised God promised it God promised it and so we can believe for it Isaiah 48 and verse 17 powerful scripture look at what it says thus yet the Lord thy redeemer the holy one of Israel now together let's read from there what does he say I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go so there's a way that you should go do you see that there's a way that you should go he says I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit and I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit and I am the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit and I lead you in the way that thou shouldest go so not every way is your way there's a way that thou shouldest go glory to God and look at the result in the next verse it says if thou has hearkened to my commandments then your peace would have been as a river your prosperity would have the word peace in the in the Hebrew is the word prosperity your prosperity your peace your increase would have been as a river it says and so why was it not so because you didn't hearken to my voice number two divine leading is your inheritance is your heritage in Christ it comes with the package it comes with salvation divine leading comes with salvation you have to understand that the critical difference between the old testament saints and the new testament saint is that God outsourced leading to a specific office in the old testament but in the new testament he democratizes leading to every believer what do I mean by that because God couldn't dwell on the inside of the believer he couldn't dwell on the inside of the Jews he placed his spirit upon special offices and then if they needed direction and instruction one was the high priest and one was the prophetic ministry high priest carrying on himself the effort and on the effort you have the kurim and the tumim which was used for the casting of lots and then you had the prophet and then you had the prophet and then you had the prophet and from which they sought instruction and direction from but you see when it comes to the new testament Ezekiel prophesied he said I will put my spirit within you and I will cause you to walk in my statues in essence what distinguishes the new testament is the fact that the holy ghost now dwells on the inside of every believer not some but every are you following what I'm saying not some but every now as the teaching goes on you would understand the place of the prophetic ministry about how that God can use the prophetic ministry to bring confirmation are you listening to what I'm saying here God can use the prophetic ministry to get you to see something that you are not seeing which means please let me explain this even though that's not a subject today you know when we say and we say this in the charismatic world today the word of faith circles today and it belittles what the prophetic ministry can do so we say and that's absolutely right we say God does not lead by a prophet that's right he does not outsource his leadership in your life to a prophet he can lead you and chooses to lead every believer is somebody following what I'm saying here however not every believer is on God's wavelength and so in his mercies he uses a prophetic ministry to jumpstart something that he's been saying already and just maybe because um you are you're certain things in your heart your mind is clogged you're not willing to even look in that direction are you following what I'm saying here you're not willing to even hear what it is that God is saying and all the rest then God in his mercies will send a prophetic voice now you may never up to that point have heard that or known that but the moment it is said there's a witness so that's what makes the difference it's not that the witness is always there it's not that the witness is always there it's not that the witness is always there there are times because of your work with God um maybe it's there are issues happening or whatever it is God then uses a prophetic ministry to realign you to something all of a sudden that thing that was dormant on the inside of yourself jumps back to life can I tell you something you know what they call jumpstarting a car you cannot jumpstart a dead battery it is because there is still some life inside so we take a battery of higher life told you are you getting what I'm saying there's something inside there but it's not at a level where you are picking it God then sends a prophetic vessel to jumpstart it to a point where it becomes a witness so let's be careful when we make that statement and we make it so you know an address and we say God does not use prophet God does not obviously I'm not saying that you want to you want to do business now you now go and meet a prophet um sir I have three businesses please go and pray for it and come back and tell me which one are you following what I'm saying I've said this over and over again because you can't change man you can't change man you can't change man you can't change man many of your parents and elderly people they will still go and meet prophets even they go to another church do you get what I'm saying they go to another church but when they want to make this decisions they have profits why all of you looking at me as if they've not carried your matter to profit they have profits that they will go and visit now particularly when it comes to the issue of marriage and you say ah and daddy mommy usually his mommy mommy this is the best i want to marry and then he says give me the name no no no don't give picture don't give them don't just tell them the person does not appear in picture when they snap him give me the name so if they say give me the name stand up um badger what are your names i don't want your surname baba dari baba dada what other one which other name do you have jesus is lord oh you're another now right that explains it i mean they are very concise if you meet the average yoruba man he has seven names he doesn't even remember four out of the seven all my children's name i don't remember it's only two i remember they have like seven you don't remember please you are not useful for my examples thank you yoruba guest stand up all right what are your names olua to me what else faith which other one i know are you seeing what i'm saying here one person i know which other one olua funto are you gonna give me another one you can't remember now so when they carry you want to carry somebody's name you want to carry a name and say why don't you check the prophet just give them olua to me olua funto do you understand just list all the names that she has god will point to one inside him stop fighting your parents i just gave you expo stop fighting your you say no mommy i can't tell you my matter to prophet she said that's the problem you should have not now you start fighting you start fighting that's why i don't like you to go to that church the nonsense that you see the problem now now it has gone from who to marry to church you're attending to you see be be wise mommy you need the name no issues i have five names there are five of them disturbing me give her the five names and your only prayer should be prophets in one of these are you getting what i'm saying so i'm not saying that you didn't go no that's what i'm saying i am i'm saying that the spirit of god leads you however god can use a prophetic vessel sometimes not just to bring confirmation but to stir up that witness when it's distant from you the key point is this if there's no witness when you hear it it's not yours that's the key point are you following what i'm saying here and again maybe i should what's going on here are you people are you people inside prophetic quagmire but i don't understand why i'm staying on this matter because i mean i shouldn't be but let me quickly say this to you and maybe if we have the time we'll study it when agabus came and prophesied to paul let me tell you something that happens it's called the the pride of knowledge you see when people have access to information that other people don't have there's a form of invincibility they seem to have there's a sense of that's why you observe that the most brash ministry of all the five forward offices is the prophetic ministry the people that talk there are people that see and hear all right but if if you are if you are with brethren and you are counseling and counseling and brethren are giving you a problem you'll be humble do you get what i'm saying so when the bible says moses was the meekest go and read it meek there does not mean humble he was the most disturbed the most challenged that's what the bible actually means there but the prophetic ministry because no you imagine it you are standing with your friends three of you all of a sudden ah ah ah ah ah precious stand up precious ah precious precious all of the ah precious ah all of a sudden even your friends will start saying ha man of god are you so it so it is that ministry that learns if you are not careful you enter into the pride of knowledge now what happens with that is this is that many prophetic verses don't understand jurisdiction which means that god shows you something does not mean you have the instructions so agabus came and said look at this he took the gadol and he started beating and said whoever owns this gadol this is how they shall deal with him in jerusalem now is there any instruction in that no if you're not careful you start saying don't go to jerusalem paul already said the witness i have is that in jerusalem and everywhere bonds are with me so this thing you are saying i already know it so what happens with a lot this is where the prophetic ministry gets into a lot of problem they don't understand jurisdiction that god shows you something does not mean you have the wisdom and instructions that the person needs so you have to learn to stop where the flow stopped and allow the spirit of god interprets that thing to the hearer is somebody getting what i'm saying here and usually the problem with believers as well is that once somebody says i see you say hey so can you can share next thing is what should i do what should i do and many times god does not give the person what should i do and so the moment the person now starts talking they are talking from their own mind are we still here you guys are saying yeah a lot is happening number number two here is divine leading is what your in your heritage your inheritance let's run quickly romans 8 14 it says as many as are led by the spirit of god they are what the sons of god verse 16 talks about it that the spirit we've received the spirit of god and it says that he buried witness with our sons of god ezekiel 36 26 to 27 ezekiel 36 verse 26 down to verse 27 speaks about this he says i will take out the heart of stone from you and put a heart of flesh i'll put my spirit within you and cause you to walk with in my statues john chapter 10 verse 27 please everybody take note of this scripture very important john chapter 10 and verse 27 john 10 verse 27 what does he say he says my voice and i what know them my sheep hear my voice and i know them do you see that my sheep hear my voice and i do what know them he didn't say my sheep prays to hear my voice he didn't say they fast are you get what i'm saying here you have to understand that it comes with sheep to know his voice it comes with sheep to hear his voice now the level to which we have developed that organ of hearing differs from person to person but every born again child of god is born with the capacity to know the voice of the lord every born again child of god once you say yes to the lordship of jesus in fact let me put it this way the same voice that brings conviction is the voice that leads and nobody can ever come into salvation save that conviction happens in their hearts that voice that brings conviction to you is the very same voice that will lead you in the dark places of your life it's the very same voice that will bring you counsel and instructions every born again believer has access to his voice are you still hearing what i'm saying here it is the inheritance of the believer you were born with it number three we have to run here divine leading is a partnership and i'm just going to run through this here divine leading is a partnership if you study isaiah 48 17 that we looked at it says um i'm the one that teached thee to profit and leadeth thee in the way that thou shouldest go it says if you had hearkened so divine leading is a partnership god will do his part but there is what we must do are you following what i'm saying here and i'm going to show you there are things we have to do to make ourselves put ourselves in the place where we can hear his voice there are things we have to do to increase our spiritual sensitivity to hearken that there does not mean if you had obeyed alone hearken when he's used in scriptures means to give attention to first and if you have given attention you would have missed my voice if you had given this no suffering from the ignorance of factors beyond your reach no matter listen you are only brilliant within what is available did you hear what i said you are only said to be brilliant or intelligent within the ambits of what is available to you can i announce to you there's so much more about your life that is not available to you you can say i'm a very brilliant person i'm not dressed not dressed you can't predict the next one year if somebody get what i'm saying here you can't predict the next six years and so when the spirit of god then starts telling you that hey this is the direction i want you to go by your mind and every factor available to you right now it does not make sense but the holy goes does not does not make decisions for us based on only available factors he makes it with unseen factors don't marry him don't marry her no you don't know how he makes me feel nobody has and now you have made a decision on factors available to you do you understand this you have not seen into the next seven years to come the things that are going to be thrown down your path so when he says lean not on your own understanding he's telling you no matter how brilliant you are your understanding is limited very limited in fact if you know how limited it is you'll be very humble if you know how limited your understanding is you will be listen all this i have havard i works out the moment he hears that kind of a thing when people say they they trust god at surface value anybody can say that but the moment you hear that kind of a thing you start attaching names to the fulfillment of that word i'm going to send you men all of a sudden you start looking through your phone the main god will send you do you get what i'm saying here now immediately you are attaching that okay yeah it can be that my auntie it can be this so when we are praying the prayers of favor like we have been praying oh god compel men you even have an image of somebody inside your heart that you are saying god is here you are saying god is here you compare not realizing that almost always anything that is within your understanding and your logic god will not use it that the excellence your power may be of god and not of man so you cannot say that you had a part to play i only surrendered and obeyed and he did what he wanted to do are you following what i'm saying here this is what please understand this this is how a lot of believers work with god we create on the inside of ourselves an idol of what we want as the answer and then we say we are submitted to god but we have told god how he should do it is somebody following what i'm saying i'm submitted to god to your will to your way but this is how you should do it all this is how because you see what happens now your mind is limited to only certain factors and those are the only factors that look remotely possible to bring to pass what you feel like god is saying so you start attaching process and ways to people and institutions inside your heart and you start attaching process and ways to people and institutions inside your heart whereas you don't realize this that god will bypass all of that and he will choose a widow who is about to die to sustain you do you know what he means that a widow has only food for herself and a child and god says i have command which means if you were to list all the possible persons to sustain the prophet she was not on the list somebody follow what i'm saying thank you she was not on so if elijah was using his mind to calculate this thing that widow would never be there because how do you explain that a woman has food alone for herself and a child to eat and die and she's supposed to sustain a man how from where to where listen to me this is extremely important in ezekiel 14 verse 4 very important scripture it says that when men set up idols in their heart god said i will answer them according to their idols god himself said that when you set up an idol in your heart listen to me when you set up an idol you have to understand how divine leading works you come to a place where we call neutral in essence you drop what you consider to be the the pride of your people miss god because every believer hear me and hear me well the witness of god is inside every believer it is life that drowns it which means there is that witness where you know this is probably what the lord is saying but as every other factor comes into play you now go back you go on a three-day fast and prayer all of a sudden you start hearing what you were not hearing before because god says listen my spirit shall not forever strive with mankind let me tell you how dangerous it is prophet is meant to see and hear stop seeing and hearing it was his donkey that began to see and hear the bible says that he went in a way and there was just enough space for the donkey to pass the bible says that an angel stood in the middle of the way with a sword out drawn the bible says the donkey couched and said i'm not going anywhere he hit the donkey twice or thrice the donkey opened the mouth a donkey began to speak in behalf of a prophet how many people have lost their ministries the donkey began to speak and then the donkey said to him he said sir all my life that i have served you have i ever been rebelled when a donkey is asking you a question he's over have i ever been rebellious to you sir is your eye so blind that you can't see what i'm seeing sir all of a sudden his eyes opened and he saw an angel with a sword drawn sir guess what he still went do you know he didn't turn back this man still carried himself and went to go and prophesy end of story never heard again the only time we'll hear of him in the new testament is that beware of the error was the error of belam or whatever the way of belam he said be beware of the error which means he became a story to be wealth is somebody still here with me so be careful that you don't set up idols in your heart there's a type of ministry you've already decided you want to have somewhere inside your heart and then as you are praying and all the rest you start you start directing all the divine nothing wrong with it you've decided listen listen let me tell you the truth and let me very sincerely say i've said it over and over again that growing up i don't know where i got it from i just always assumed that me and my wife you know the kind of ministry would do she would just come up stage she would sing powerfully everybody will be slain under the anointing then i'll just walk up like the man of god then she'll now cut sea and give me the microphone and i'll say now take it in the name of jesus a problem is my wife do you know what i'm saying choir needs to help her so you can imagine and by the way by the way i can say this now by the way i made a decision on the basis of that oh yes oh yes i was going to get married to someone that was singing fire and even when on the inside of myself i knew that this is not it but you know now this is how ministry should look okay now imagine that and i'll marry somebody i sing in fire now come and say praise the lord oh ye brethren that's how they do men of god imagine that she comes out and she starts singing and she all these men of god don't believe them and then they'll say what happened to pastor and his wife his choice his choice is not the fight they had he's not the misunderstanding it was the choice that was made long ago are you listening to what i'm saying here one of the prayers you have to praise that the holy spirit will help you uproot idols somebody says i'm a new testament christian i'm a new creation i got no idols plix plix plix plix plix plix first john chapter five he says beware of idols can't tell me that you are being led without a definite walk are you getting this here if you say that oh somebody is leading you um in a certain direction what it means is that you're leading you in a certain direction you're getting instructions directions um the nudge of that person whatever it is and you're going in a certain direction are you following what i'm saying here so when the bible talks about the leadership of the spirit the guidance of the spirit again john 3 verse 8 the spirit blow it where it listed so the holy spirit is a moving spirit are you following what i'm saying here so when a man is in sync with the holy spirit there's a definite walk that we will see in his life you're going to see steps that have been taken in the direction of an assignment and instruction obedience in a certain direction so when paul speaks about a walk in the spirit many times and let me help you here many times believers reduce it to you know when they say a walk in the spirit what they are thinking of is you know somebody that comes and then displays gifts of the spirit and things like that and all of that but that's not what he's referring to it's talking about being led by the holy ghost and hear this this might be the most important part of the gospel the missing link in your walk with god this might be the missing link i know many times when people teach this message and address what we're always talking about is the inward witness the word of god is the first way god leads us then inward witness and address and every of those things are valid facts but have you asked yourself the question how come with all of that body of knowledge it would seem as though some people it's just far from them this guidance and leadership of the holy spirit yet you read through the old testament every pages and the Lord said to Abraham and the Lord said to Jacob in fact you can't there's no bible without and the Lord said there's no bible imagine a man God speaks to him he says Genesis 12 verse 1 and the Lord had said unto Abraham get thee out of your country out of your father's house out of your kindred to a land I will show you not to Canaan to a land which means get thee out out is out that's the last thing where do you listen if I say get thee out of this venue to somewhere I will show you do you know that the only thing you can do is to go outside the gate do you understand what I just said that when you now get to outside the gate you say sir where he says right then when you now go right side it looks like there's a turn here don't turn keep walking so when you read Abraham's story sometimes you have the idea that Abraham you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the idea that Abraham is a man of God you have the word peripatio peripatio he used a greek word and that word what what it actually means is to walk within the boundaries a confined defined boundary a space the best example is to say that you have a security man whose job is to secure the perimeter and the circumference of this place do you agree with me that everything that happens in the next compound is not his business so he walks he peripatios the boundaries of that place and everything within that place is under within his influence if somebody for them want to but he comes here and then he uses a different greek word stoichio you can study these things for yourself stoichio means to walk in line which means like soldiers like an a military formation you take the first have you seen them walking together and then the steps in face and in step with the spirit let me show you how this works out here this first walk where it talks about the boundaries and all the rest he's saying that there's a boundary within which the holy spirit operates if somebody follow what i'm saying here and then he says if you read further downwards he says within that boundary what defines that boundary is the kind of fruit that grows there it is love joy peace kindness are you following what i'm saying here long read he says this is the boundary how do we know that this is where the holy spirit has influence this is what we see there now this is the principle if the holy ghost does not have influence within he cannot have influence over so many times people are concerned about tossier the lord my son rise up now and go to obama show and what they don't realize is this is that having a vision or an instruction from god's spirit is secondary to the ability of the holy ghost to influence your character please listen to this here that there is a circle within which the holy ghost has governing power once we step out of that circle that's why when a man steps out of love into offense the voice of god cuts off not that god is not speaking but because he's outside the ambits where the holy ghost governs have you observed that when you are depressed or you have a weight or a burden you have a weight or a burden it's difficult for you to hear the voice of the holy spirit do you know what is happening there because you have stepped out of joy if somebody follow what i'm saying here that many times the problem is this is that you are there there's a whole lot of things depression bitterness and all the rest and you go on a mountain for three days and three nights to hear the voice of god it's either you don't hear or you hear a devil and the reason is this the holy ghost only governs within his influence listen this is extremely important if he cannot influence you to rejoice in adverse circumstances he cannot give you the word to bring you out of adverse circumstance do you see how it operates now this is so important let me give you examples here you see it clearly now do you know that when god said to abraham lift up your eyes now everywhere where you see i have given to you do you realize that right before that do you know what happened there the bible says he had told lots the hearts men of abraham and lot were fighting then he said to lot you you can take wherever it is that you want lots an entitled brat looks around and takes the best of the land and leaves the worst for his uncle was there any story of abraham being offended there once he stayed within the circle of love then the word of god came lift up your eyes are you following what i'm saying here read jacob his wages were changed how many times of 10 times his wages were changed his uncle treated him bad was there ever any story of offense was there ever any story of bitterness it was as he stayed within the circle of love the bible says the angel appeared to him at night at night and gave him the instruction this is the mistake we make many times we are looking for stoichio without allowing the holy ghost peripatio are you following what i'm saying here we don't the influence we are not within the influence of the spirit and we are expecting to hear the voice of the spirit take your remote at home that your tv remote or your ac remote point it at the tv and press it it will control whatever it is that you're doing but the moment you start stepping back what happens it now becomes difficult after a while it's not even controlling it anymore now what is that control there it's called stoichio which means it's not controlling you it's not controlling you it's not controlling you it means anything i do here shows up there this tv must be in alignment with my will are you following what i'm saying here but that stoichio which is alignment only happens and has power to govern the tv within a certain radius are you following what i'm saying here that the moment i step out of that radius it is not that the television has lost its power neither is it that the remote has lost its power it is the that the radio of influence has been crossed is somebody follow what i'm saying here that if we will give ourselves more to the influence of the spirit to generate what is called the fruit of the spirit this is the biggest problem with the charismatic church that we are focused more on this and somebody will come up with a vision and they will use their vision to victimize people they hate god in their vision that's why people can hear god and build something out of jealousy and that thing eventually destroys them because that's the order eventually destroys them why because the devil they accommodate the devil and it takes advantage of that thing look at the prophet elisha what's his name when the kings came to meet elisha and then the bible says that elisha the joseph had said to him he said what shall we do do you remember the first thing elisha said he said listen if i'm so upset and angry with you and talking to the king of israel ahab there he said if not for this man jehoshaphat i will not even have answered you guys then what's the next thing he said he said bring me a minstrel do you know that we have built doctrines out of that thing that makes no sense so we tell people that the minstrel ministry is to help the prophetic office who else in the entire bible needed a minstrel to stand in his office show me one more person that at any point in time where he wanted to stand in his office he needed a minstrel he said come and sing for me sing for me now play that thing and all the rest do i do i understand the power of music and the anointing yes but are you reducing the possibilities and the power of an office to just to music and all of this no a million times no he was the only person and you know why he was in bitterness and offense towards the king of israel so he said listen the way i am i can't function in my office i need somebody to help me dispel this cloud as the minstrel played the bible says the hand of the lord came upon him then he began to prophesy are you listening to what's going on here that he wanted to receive instructions but he needed to deal with the condition of his heart thank you gentlemen are you hearing what i'm saying that many times our focus is on thus here the lord now rise my son move from here and go to obama show no no no no and all the rest of my hand i don't know if you're from there realize that a major reason why we are not under the governing influence of the spirit is that we are not within the influence of the spirit that's why we are not there a major reason you can pray and fast and it looks as though clarity is not coming is because joy is lost from your heart a major reason you can pray and fast and you are not sure what the lord is saying is because there's offense somewhere locked up within your heart if somebody follow what i'm saying here that we have to be within the influence before we can come under the influence remember i told you i'm not dealing with those foundational things of either witness word and orders and orders they are critical things that the spirit of the lord has laid upon my heart that we must deal with here i must deal with you and everybody has to start looking deep within looking deep within that you see a believer listen this is why it's very dangerous you see a believer who can go one month two months with offense in their heart towards other believers and they think it has no spiritual implications what you don't know is this is that god does not tell you when he will speak and that once god will speak you are outside the radius that's the problem are you listening what i'm saying that an instruction that will change your life completely has been released from heaven but you are outside the radius of influence of that troll. And you get what I'm saying. Let me tell you something here. The way God does it, somebody else will pick it. A preacher said something very powerful one time. And I think it's true. He said, he believes that divine instructions are like clouds with rain. He says, and when you miss that instruction, the clouds never go to waste. That God is going to direct that cloud into another person's life who is ready and who is receptive. I personally believe more important than trying to hear thoughts here of the Lord is creating the atmosphere where thoughts here of the Lord happens. Did you hear what I said? More important than trying to hear thoughts here of the Lord is you creating the atmosphere. The moment offense creeps into your heart, you know that this thing is going to affect my sensitivity. You deal with it. The moment a weight, a burden is landing on your shoulder, don't enjoy it. You know, people can enjoy depression. I hope you know. People can enjoy being, and I'm not saying that in a mean way, but people can enjoy feeling bad about themselves. They can enjoy it. What you're doing is that you are creating an atmosphere where it's difficult for the Holy Spirit. To find expression and speak to you. Are we still together? This is your month. I said this is your month. Now, I know that in teaching subjects like this, this is not the direction many people think we go. But I'm trying, what God said to me, said it's the little foxes that destroy divine. Those parts that we have not given attention to, those are the things that destroys divine. Rise up on your feet and we will pray. We're going to pray for the next two minutes. We're going to pray from the depth of your heart. We're going to pray for the next two minutes and we're going to pray from the depth of your heart. Wherever you are, lift your right hand to what heaven and say this with me. Father, come on with a loud voice. Declare it. Father, I am your sheep and I know your voice. I command everything that has clogged my spiritual sensitivity to be dislodged right now. In the mighty name of Jesus. Jesus. Take the next one minute and pray wherever you are. Everything that has clogged my spiritual sensitivity, I decree and I declare that it's dislodged right now. This is not the time to look around. This is the time for you to pray. We have just one minute to pray. We're talking about matters of life, matters of destiny. Everything that has clogged my spiritual sensitivity, I decree and I declare right now. Even at this moment. In the mighty name of the Lord Jesus. It is dislodged. The Holy Spirit will bring to your conscious appreciation, your conscious knowledge. Issues that needs to be dealt with. Things that needs to be sorted out. It could be an area of carnality that you have given full reign, free course. And the Holy Spirit is dealing with you about it right now. Amen.
