Hey y'all, it's Kayden. So I just came out of a youth group service. Tonight's message was about surrender and surrendering to the Lord. And reminded me so much of the story that I used to hear all the time. And it's about a man who has this house and the devil all of a sudden starts knocking, trying to break in. And so he keeps on struggling to keep him out. I mean, he manages to do it, but he can only do so much. And so one day Jesus is in town and he goes and he tells Jesus, "Hey, here's my problem. Devil keeps knocking at the door. It might help him me out." And Jesus tells the man, "Yeah, I need a place to stay." And so and so they go back to the house and the man tells Jesus, "I'll give you this one room. Here's your room." And the devil starts coming in and he starts knocking. And the man's struggling to keep him out. And eventually the devil ends up leaving. And then the man asks Jesus, "Why didn't she help me?" And Jesus tells the man, "You only gave me one room." The only gave me one room. And so the man said to Jesus, "Okay, I'll give you every room, but one room, my room, which my where I sleep." And Jesus was like, "Okay." And so the next day the devil comes in and starts knocking, pounding. This time more brutal than ever. And he ends up fleeing, but this really took, this really drained the man. The man was feeling weak. Like this was the hardest. The devil has ever attacked him ever. And so he goes into Jesus and he was like, "How come you didn't help me out? I mean, I gave you everything." And Jesus said to him, "Did you really give me everything?" "You gave me all this room, but one." And so the man drops to his knees on crying. And he tells Jesus, "Okay, I'll give you everything." And so when the devil comes again knocking, pounding, Jesus opens the door. And the devil is lost for words and he flees. This is what surrender looks like. This is what surrender looks like, given it all up for Jesus. Every single room give to Jesus. Every square, where inch to Jesus, to God. And what I mean is every area in your life that you don't have him in, you're gonna struggle. This is why we surrender everything. This is why the man surrenders his whole house. So Jesus fights our battles for us. Takes our place like he did on the cross because our punishment was death. And Jesus took that. He took our sin, took our punishment so that we may live. This is what it looks like to surrender. Every area in your life, surrender.
