Still Feeling Off? Listen to Jess Kane Before Buying Another Supplement

In this episode of *What She’s Having*, host interviews Jess Berman, co-owner of Body Bio, a family-run supplement company founded by her grandfather in the 1980s. The company began with blood testing to identify nutrient deficiencies but shifted to developing supplements after noticing widespread deficiencies in healthy fats. The first product was an electrolyte concentrate made in a bathtub, followed by PC (phosphatidylcholine), designed to repair cell membranes. Berman explains that cell membranes, made of phospholipids, degrade with age and environmental factors, causing leaky cells and impairing functions like detoxification, hormone regulation, and brain health. PC is taken as a liquid or capsule to restore membrane integrity, with no upper limit. Other key products include Tudca, a bile salt that supports liver and gallbladder health by thinning bile, and Butyrate, a postbiotic that feeds gut cells and strengthens immune function. Berman warns that many liposomal supplements on the market are ineffective because they use lecithin instead of true phospholipids. She shares her personal story of severe digestive issues (IBD, H. Pylori, bleeding ulcers) resolved by her grandfather’s recommendation of hydrochloric acid (HCl) to address low stomach acid, contrasting with common medical advice to use acid blockers. The episode emphasizes cellular health as foundational for overall wellness.

Before we begin, just a quick note, we're not medical professionals and nothing in this episode is intended as medical advice. Always consult a licensed physician regarding your health. Today on What She's Having, welcome Jess Berman, co-owner of Body Bio, a third-generation family supplement company dedicated to your health at the cellular level. As a daily user of their products myself, I have so many questions and I know you will too, so let's get into it. I'm so excited that you're on. Thank you. Thank you for having me. I was telling you that go get her. I love this product. I really see such a difference in my life. Multiple products because we can get into all of that. But I really want to start with the history. This was your grandfather who started this company. So tell me about the product that it was founded on. So it was actually founded on blood tests. So you know how they have function health now. You used to be able to do that at LabCore with Body Bio. And so that was in like the early 90s, that was the first iteration and the functional medicine team was super tiny. It was probably like 10 people. And then they started to break off and do various different things. And my grandfather was really focused on blood testing. And so you would get this blood test. It would tell you exactly what vitamins you need based on your blood. And that kind of fizzled out because they started educating doctors more on the nutrients that they found were missing in the world. So they were seeing these consistencies of like, okay, people are really missing, particularly healthy fats. Like we are completely devoid. Our brains are starved and we're starting to see so many issues arise out of this neurogeogeneration, childhood diseases, like so many different issues are developing. So let's pivot. And they started really educating practitioners on what nutrients people needed. And then they started actually developing the nutrients themselves. So at the early stages of it, they were actually getting the nutrients mainly from IV drugs. And then my grandfather looked at it and said, this is not sustainable, right? People can't go in and get $2,000 IVs all the time. How am I going to develop this line of products? And so it took about five to six years. The person who originally made PC with my grandfather in 2002 is still making PC today. Oh, wow. It's crazy. He was really like, that's so innovative. So he was bringing information to the doctors. He was, he was educating these groups, small groups, like 40 to 50 doctors at a time on how to optimize detoxification. So we think about detox. And in today's world of social media and all of these things, we've gotten so far away from how the body actually naturally detoxifies. And our products are made to allow the body to efficiently detox. A lot of other products juice cleanses and binders and all these crazy things out there these days. They're just fats, right? They don't actually optimize your body for detoxification. They've just been kind of sold to us as this, this marketing gimmick. And so we've just been, I mean, we've been doing this for 30 years now. So PC, was that the first product? I think the first product actually, even dialing it back, the company was first called the E-light companies. The first product was our electrolyte concentrate. He first made that in the 1980s. He was a marathon runner and he made it in his bathtub. He looked at an IV ringer solution. So what you get when you go to a hospital and you're dehydrated, he looked at that and said, I'm just going to make this in a concentrate that people can put in water. That's amazing. And he would sell it when he would go to marathons. Oh, that is so nice. I use that. It's great. I do use that. Yeah. If there are max for that any day, I don't like to like any water you're putting in, you just put a teaspoon. I put both E-light and remineralized. Okay. So I'm getting the electrolytes that your muscles need and then you're getting the 72 micro macro trace minerals that your cells, what if got the remineralized? Is there a max for that or now? Like is it a one is like, I walk around this baby all day long? I'll just put a couple. If I refill it, can I just keep on redoing it? It's okay. That's what I do too. If not, your water is not charged. Your water is just going to get dead water. Which is like an interesting topic which we won't get into because we've had so many discussions with so many people here about water. But let's start with like, what is cellular level? Because I think that people don't understand, including myself, exactly what cellular level is and how important that is to our overall health. Yeah, it's very esoteric. Right? Like you think of for women, we have 32 trillion cells they estimate. And it's how do you even conceptualize how healthy those cells are? It's really hard to think about. But our cells make up every organ in our body including our skin, including our liver, including our brain, including your eyes, everything in your body is made of cells. And over time, we're born with a lot of phospholipids, these healthy fats that protect ourselves. And when we're born, our cell membrane, that little bubble is about 90% phosphatetal colon. And about 10% sphingomilin. As you age, it reverses. And sphingomilin causes all sorts of health issues. So as we age, these fats decrease, our cells become kind of leaky, just like you would have a leaky gut and all this bad stuff is getting into the cells and changing our health. So what's so fascinating about the cell and the cell membrane that my grandfather really focused on is that every action of the cell, your hormonal regulation, your neuro transmission, the thoughts between your brain, everything happens on the cell membrane. Those mechanisms of action happen literally on the cell membrane. So a mitochondria is going to produce ATP, but the action of that ATP and the energy production actually gets carried out on the cell membrane. And so when our cell membranes are disrupted, which they are for everybody, particularly as we're aging, every single function starts deteriorating. And so when you build that back up, your body is more resilient. And the processes that are normal for your body like detoxification just work better. It's so interesting because there's a whole new, I guess, study and knowledge of the MTHFR, you know, gene so that your detox pathways aren't detoxing. So I have it. I have it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I have to. And I think I might have found your product literally just on Instagram. And it was the PC that really got me because it made so much sense. And I had like a lot of memory issues. I couldn't recall my words. And there's a marked difference when I take the products, which is wild because people with MTHFR needed even more. Needed even more because you don't produce as much from food. How would you know? Just giving an example. I think that we're so used to feeling like shit. People just are in general, especially women, right? Yeah, especially you get to be my age. And you're going through all of your changes. So you're used to feeling like shit, how do you know? Like what's a, what's a marker that says like, okay, you are experiencing brain fog? Because I think I brain fog every day. Oh, usually they just use MSQs. They use questionnaires. There's no real marker. We are eventually will develop a test that you can actually test your phospholipid levels. And we're working on it. You can do metabolomics testing, which is very expensive and very nuanced to actually see what your levels of phospholipids are. They will always be low. They are going to be low. We actually are going to start working with a company on me screen. It's a mitochondrial efficiency test. And they said, hands down the number ones supplement we are recommending to every single person that is doing this test is phosphatio calling is PC. And we're using body bio PC because we know you guys and we trust you and everybody recommends you. But this is how damaged our cells are. They need these fats in order to actually properly function. So there's no bio marker that you're going to walk into your general practitioner and say, Hey, I'm experiencing brain fog. They're going to go based on symptoms. They will look at your thyroid levels. They will look at your hormone panels. They can do all of these things. But you can start doing HRT. You can take things for energy. None of it is actually going to work as well when your cells are leaky and they're not performing. Do you think most of this is diet driven or is this just other environment? I think it's environmental. I really do. My grandfather did too. And what age do you think you can start taking PC? I started my kids at one because they were breastfed until one and they were getting it through breast milk. And I was taking, you know, seen amounts during pregnancy preconception. So beginning before I had babies during my pregnancies, during breastfeeding, and then around one year old, I would just put it on a spoon. I mean, my daughter takes it every single day. But it's kind of like has a funky taste, right? You get used to it when they're taking it from so young. They don't think it does. Can you mix it with something? You can. Yeah. And you can even put it in, Gwen with Poucher taught me that she puts it in a glass of water, like two ounces of water, swirls it around and takes it as a shot every day. But the pills are the same, right? The pills. Pills are totally the same. But if you are, if you are someone that takes a table spoon a day, because there's no upper limit, the more you can get in the better. Oh. So if you are experiencing great effects and you're seeing better brain clarity and better recall and you're feeling good and your skin's looking good and you're like, okay, I want to take more than you can. You can take two, three table spoons a day. You're going to feel like really on it. But that's hard with pills. One tablespoon is 12 capsules. So how much how much are you taking a day? I usually take one to two table spoons a day. I always have one tablespoon. And do you just you just take it? I literally take the large bottle. I drink it like this. I pour it in each of my kids mouths and I chase it with water. Wow. I can't swallow it on its own. Oh, my kids. And then are you doing it in the morning? I do it in the morning. Sometimes I like to do this liver flush. Well, I'll do two table spoons a night with a couple of Tedco, which is our liver supplement. And that like really gets gets things like just processed and like bile flowing, no gall bladder issues. It's awesome. I do want to talk about the Tedka and like where how you use it when when you use it because it sounds amazing. And I'm not sure if I'm using it properly. They literally just begged for us to stock it at everyone. So I'm excited it's there now. It's it's a fascinating it's a bile salt. It basically thins out the bile between the gall bladder and the liver and your digestion. And bile is so important because bile is a critical part of the digestive process. For women, I mean, how many friends of yours have had their gallbladder removed or had gallstones? It's just happens all the time. And that's because you get this build-up of the sludge and then the gallstones form. Tudca keeps that all flowing and just keeps the bile actually moving and processing through the liver and through the body. So when do you take it, like with food at night? Yeah, I usually take it with food, so I'll take two after a meal. I don't take it every day. It really depends on the state of your health. If you're somebody who's had gallbladder issues, there might be like a two-months-dint where I'll take it every day. If I'm starting to feel like a little bit like backed up, like if you ever had that upper right quadrant pain, that almost just feels like nausea. People who have had gallbladder issues know this pain. So I'll take maybe consistently, but I like to just take it every couple days. My husband, who is the CEO of our company, we run it together. That's a lot of fun. He takes it every single day because his father had Parkinson's and he takes it for the neurodegenerative benefits. It's so interesting because we should be taking that. Yeah, because we live on a golf course. We should be taking that. And you should be like up, up, up PC, PC, and buterate. Okay, so that's okay. So that was Tudca we were speaking about. Which is not the same as a digestive enzyme. No, no, very different digestive enzymes are going to help break down food. Tudca is working on the bile. So bile isn't used in the stomach to break down food. That's typically hyperchloric acid and other enzymes, pancreatate and different digestive enzymes that are secreted when you eat food. Tudca occurs mostly in the gallbladder and that's where it's going to function. So it's really important for breaking down fats, fats and proteins. So that you are getting the most out of those fats, which PC is. So that's why I like to just make sure that my bile is really working. Okay, so then we have the Tudca and then what about the buterate? That is something. Buterate is. I think buterate, I mean buterate is so popular. Those are the three products that are like the most popular PC buterate and Tudca. So if you're, if we're recommending to listeners, those are the three that you say go get them. Do that. No, I'll touch on that in a minute. Okay. Because those are a little bit more, Tudca is like a little, almost like a little bit more advanced. People really run to it because non-alcoholic fatty liver disease. Liver enzymes are elevated. It takes it all right down. So Tudca is kind of like this, this like little secret in the health. So if you're drinking it helps. Yeah, totally. So that is Tudca. Buterate is fascinating because, I mean, particularly for our kids, no one is producing enough buterate anymore. We produce it in our colon. It's made in the gut. And it is responsible for our immune function. It is literally responsible for feeding the colonocytes, which determine whether we have a leaky gut or not. It is so critically important, no one is making enough. And now we have this incredible rise of GI disorders, GI cancers. I'm not saying it's just from buterate alone. But there's so many disruptions like living on a golf course where you have glyphosate and different pesticides that are sprayed like chronic antibiotic use. Like, you know, when we were younger, we were told, okay, you have acne, go on some doxycycline for six months. Crazy things like this, right? It's all disrupting our gut. And we don't have the right keystone strains of bacteria that produce buterate buterate is called a postbiotic. It is the byproduct of a healthy gut. None of us have healthy guts anymore. I mean, it's next to impossible. And it's just the world that we live in today. And so buterate goes in and provides that nutrient so that the gut can kind of thrive and have this healthy, healthy home to live in. And you're going to have a gen and I like, I mean, I do take that now. Is that something that you take twice a day or is that something you can like level up as you need? You can go up to like six to eight capsules at the higher doses that actually induces to LP1. So it's going to help with lactic production. It's going to help with appetite, suppression and weight loss and things like that. I take two a day. I mean, I take four a day, two after breakfast, two after dinner. Is the okay, when you say liposomal, here's a question. I always think of liposomal though he said it's better, right? I think of it as just your liquid, you know? So when you guys say your capsules as liposomal, how is that possible? Okay. So PC in order for something to be liposomal has to be made of phospholipids. That is PC. Okay. And so you can even your vitamin C that you're taking that's in the little, okay? You can figure out a way to encapsulate that vitamin C into a phospholipid molecule and then have it in a little capsule and it's completely, it works. What I will tell you is most of the liposomal supplements on the market are taking a nutrient. So let's say the molecule glutathion, not well absorbed on its own, needs to be liposomal or in an IV in order for it to really work in the body. You take that nutrient and they're mixing something called lessethin, which isn't a mulsifier. It's in chocolate, it's in desserts. And they take that lessethin and they mix it with glutathion. When you ingest that goo, the gel, whatever it is, in the stomach, it's going to break down into triglycerides and coley. It's not actually going to get through the digestive tract into the bloodstream. So it's not doing anything really for you. So all these little packets that we're taking, they're all made by contract manufacturers who make the same thing and just burn it out for everybody. And I'm sure it's going to increase your amounts slightly, but not at like a therapeutic dose in any way. So, okay. So what if you liposomal or glutathion, can you do that as like a peptide? No, you can do it as an IV. Okay. Yeah. So, we're replacing the glutathion with. I mean, we make body biocluidethyliposomal glutathion. So it's in a capsule. It's protected that way. It's non-oxidized. And those phospholipids are protecting the little glutathion molecule. And when you ingest it, we've done blood efficacy studies to show that your levels of glutathion go up. Okay. That's amazing. Okay. One more thing for my staff. And the glutathion in the packet smells like a fart. Yeah. And if it doesn't smell like sulfur, there's something really wrong with it. There is one goo company that I love, um, live on labs. That's a family business. It's based in Nevada. They make the original, do you remember like those lipospiric vitamin Cs? Yeah. With the white of the black letters. They're glutathion. Stinks. Yeah, yeah. But I love their vitamin C. Yeah. They make a good vitamin C. Okay. I saw a video about you and your child that you had stomach issues. Oh my God. So many. Right? And I think it's wrong with her. She just is missing something. I'm going to give her this. And that was like a life changer for you. I was living in LA. I went to go see him in San Diego. He was living in San Diego at the time. And we went to the beach and he was like, let's go get tacos. I said, there's no way I can eat tacos. I was going to every gastroenterologist in the city. I had colonoscopies and doscopies. I had an IBD diagnosis. I was told I have a high edal hernia. You need pepsid, prilosec, nexium, all of these things to decrease stomach acid production. You have H. Pylori. Here's a bunch of antibiotics to take care of that bacteria. That's causing stomach ulcers. I'm getting bleeding stomach ulcers. Oh my gosh. 22 years old. Wow. Like this should not have been happening. I see. The reason it happened was definitely trauma. But moving forward, it's like, what do you do when you can only eat soups? And I couldn't eat any raw vegetables. I couldn't eat anything. And so you go to get tacos. I have so many friends that are going through this now. My son is like this. He's on an acid blocker. And I'm panicked. I want him off of it because it's terrible. It's typically not that you need the blocker. It's that you need more acid. Right. Your body's not producing enough acid. And so because of the H. Pylori and because of the antibiotic use and because of all of these things, my stomach just felt like it was constantly inflamed. And then I just was having a hard time eating. And I think had I not had that meal with my grandfather in which he just said to me, oh, you're just like me. Here, take this. And in 45 minutes, you're going to take this. It was completely life changing. What did he give you? So he gave me hydrochloric acid, which is called HCl. So hydrochloric acid. Uh-huh. And how was that taken in a pill form? It was in a pill. Do you have that? Oh, you don't make any more? We don't make it anymore. Well, where do I get it? Now I buy all sorts of different ones. So I'll try various different ones. I actually got to a place where I'm now off of them. But you can go to everyone and get an HCl. Just to make sure it doesn't have it a lot of fillers and crap in it. So I would probably say Thorne has like a bio-just designs for health makes a good HCl allergy research group makes a good HCl. Look for those functional practitioner brands. Like you think you're going to Iran, right? And that you're going to buy something great because you guys are at Iran. Yeah. And you think that you're going to get some things that's good. Let's give you a good machine now, right? It's crazy. It's every pretty new brand that's out there run by a 22 year old influencer. That walks into a contract manufacturer, takes off a box and says, I want to make it and digest a ventzyme. Right. So I like to use some of the more professional brands. You can get them on Amazon now. You can get them on full script. I just trust they're sourcing more. A lot of them like Thorne has their own manufacturing. Some others designs for health does, orthomolecular does. They manufacture their own stuff. They're not just walking into a contract manufacturer and getting things made for them. Okay. What else are you taking to fix your gut? Well, what did she give you that day afterwards? Yeah. So it was the HCL to digest the food. So you're going to increase your stomach acid. It's going to break down those foods. And that is not a digestive enzyme. That's a different difference. It's like basically your stomach acid. It's what your stomach secretes when it recognizes that there's food being digested. And then you can pair with it at a later date. I did a digestive enzyme. One that I'm taking right now that I really like is I think it's called like pancreatic enzymes. and it's by designs for hell. - I'm taking that one. - Yeah, it's a good one. - Yeah. - And then about 45 minutes later, he said, "Because you're so reactive right now, "you still need something that's gonna calm "your stomach down." And he gave me a magnesium carbonate. This is hard to find, but you could just take half a teaspoon of baking soda and water. - Oh. - And that just kind of calms your stomach down. But over the years, by seeing all these different practitioners and going to all these different healers and these doctors and learning, and like, that was the pivotal point that I all of a sudden realized what functional medicine was, and I stopped going to see these alopathic doctors that were putting me on drugs and getting you nowhere. And I started seeing functional doctors and really learning because he said, "You're gonna see my friend that does this, "then you're gonna go see my friend that does this." I learned so much about how to heal age pylori naturally with mastica, with mastica. - It's a gum that's made in grease from trees, but it literally is like a balm for your GI system and just calms everything down. Allo juice completely calms my digestive system down if I have a flare. Getting the right enzymes, getting the right amount of acid in there so that I can break food down, getting the liver working with tutka, with ox bile, with things that are gonna help the gallbladder moving bile so that you can digest food again. And that was kind of my first tipping point into kind of functional wellness. - And how do you heal the gut? So you calm the gut, but then how do you actually repair it? - I always look at it in terms in like two separate and like this is not medical advice, right? I've only learned what I've learned through working with all of these great doctors and through learning what I have through body bio, my grandfather. I divide it into the upper and the lower, right? The upper is your digestion, like what you're actually doing to break down that food before it moves on. And that's where my first problem was. Later, and even to today in today's world, like, you know, I'll eat something off and it'll affect my gut and I'll feel like I'm bloated. But now I know what to do to get back in balance and make sure that I'm doing the right thing. I think we're so fortunate now that the testing for GI for lower GI is incredible. So you can get a stool test on whether it's Genova or GI diagnostics or a gut tumor by vibrant wellness. You can do these stool tests so that you know, okay, these commensal bacteria are low. My butorate production is low. I have dysbiosis, there's too much bad bacteria and not enough good bacteria and then you can tailor it. But there's not one solid plan for like what do you do for God help? - To heal it. It's super nuanced, it's very different depending on the person. I think that there are definitely some things that everybody can be doing. And one thing that I think a lot of people don't realize is your GI system, this gastric mucusa that kind of protects all of your intestines, your small intestine, your large intestine. And some of the other organs is made, it's 80% of it is made of phosphatetial coline. - Wow. - So it's not just like you're feeling the brain fog, it can also be GI issues that are changing when you start taking PC. Because it needs these nutrients that we just don't have enough of A from our foods and B because we are so disrupted in today's world because of kind of what the world is doing to us. - Do you think that this is, when I talk to my husband, he always thinks women are, he's like, "God, how come women have all these gut issues? "How come our men just like, is it mass?" 'Cause they're men and they don't, you know, we see where blood is. So do you think they have as many GI issues? - 100% - 100% they just don't acknowledge it as much. - Maybe they don't acknowledge it. Yeah, I don't know what it is. I think women are just more in tune. - I do. - So you know when something's a little bit more off and you recognize it and you're like, "Okay, I want to address this." Whereas your husband may not and just kind of gets through it. And how many people do you know? Did even like you hear of have like colon cancer that you know, are having bowel changes and don't do anything about it, right? It's like you can mask and ignore it and then it turns into a much larger issue one day. - No, I know that very well. My mom has colon cancer right now. Yeah, so that's, you know, I think there's two camps, right, people who want to know and people who don't want to know and you can't convince one side to go to the other. - You can't until they have a health crisis. - Right, right, how many doctors do you know that work in functional medicine? Who, I mean, my favorite doctor in the world is Dr. Christine Profeta, she's in North Jersey. She healed my life, she is incredible. And you know, she, like it's even her. She had Lyme disease during her residency. Nobody would help her. She was a Yale medical student. - How do you cure Lyme disease? - No, it's wild, it's a, yeah. I mean, it's just ongoing. - We were just talking about it and because Nashville is, you know, it's very tick-driven, it terrifies me everywhere. - Well, now there's a new Pfizer. This is not medical advice by the way, at all, right? And we were just chatting as girls here. Pfizer's coming out with a Lyme vaccine. - I saw that, you know. I also think, have you noticed in the news they're starting to report that it's gonna be the worst just a six season ever? - Exactly. - Do you think that there's a correlation? - Yeah, right. - It's crazy. - And so I just, you know, I don't wanna be the lemon trying that thing first. That's for sure. But do I worry about my kids going to sleep away camp in the Berkshires? - Yeah. - And, you know, was the first question I had when I was interviewing camps? What's your tick prevention policy? Yes. - Why are you just put a whole new fear on me? - I know. - This summer, but I don't want them to live in bubbles. - New fear on a road. - Don't live in bubbles. - What are you really doing for prevention? What can you do for prevention? - So there's a great device called a tickless and it's an ultrasonic sound that repels ticks and I literally tie it into their shoes. - We write that down. - Yeah, no one. - And so they have it on, even on their sandals and they'll wear it on their neck because they have seen. I mean, they've seen when mommy was in bad, bad health and what can happen. So just do these simple things. Do your tick checks to teach them what to do, tell the counselors, we are very vigilant when it comes to ticks, make sure they're checking the nurses at the camp should check as well. But typically what the camp will do is they spray on the perimeter and then the ticks don't come in because the perimeter has been sprayed. - I didn't even think about that. - I would rather have a pesticide spray and then get lined. - Yeah. - So by all means, spray for ticks. - That's so crazy. And now the whole alpha gal situation, that is a whole thing. - There is nothing that freaks me out more than not being able to eat red meat. - I know. - What a bizarre. There's a great story a friend of mine owns a clinic called Hampton's BioMed and tap is a wonderful practitioner. Her son got alpha gal and they use this device called the Firefly Photo Bio Modulation. It's a specific red light and they would put it over his stomach and I think his whole body and he got rid of alpha gal. - That's incredible. - Wow. - That's wild. That one scares me. What are your thoughts on bevorgant? Like, and if you are eating them, are you making some liver and onions? - That is not different than a dried organ meat. - Or an appell is out in the form. - And a capsule. - And an appell. - Yeah, it depends, right? I don't know. I mean, they've been made to cure histamine intolerance and do this and that. I think if you can get a good source, it's not bad. I don't take them. I had this really cool blend that somebody sent to me by a company called Organized that was powdered beef organs and it was great organic, really great sourcing. I love that I could just take like a teaspoon of it and stick it in my kids' morning smoothie and they didn't even taste it. So to me, it was like a little bit of an added super food in a way, but I just, it's not something that like has ever really resonated with me. - Okay. - If it works for you, then great. - Yeah. - It's not healing yourselves. It's giving you nutrients, giving you micronutrients, giving you vitamin A, vitamin D, vitamin K, things like this. But it's not like, I think that we were so used to seeing these trending things, peptides, NAD. You know, now it's C15, like all these different molecules. But at the end of the day, if your cell membrane is damaged, none of that is going to work because that means your mitochondrial membrane is damaged. Your nuclear membrane is damaged. Bad stuff is breaking through the membrane, microplastics, forever chemicals, heavy metals. It's getting into your cell, into the little matrix that it shouldn't be in. And then it is altering our epigenetics. It is changing our health trajectory. And so let's say your Achilles heel is colon cancer and it turns it on earlier than somebody else's. Or let's say that, you know, mine's thyroid and it turns on my thyroid issues earlier. It just changes that trajectory of your health. It is hard coded into your DNA. That's always there. It's not much that can change it. It's just the expression of it that doesn't need to come forward. If your hair is changing, thinning, shedding, or just not feeling like you, leaf and flower was made for this phase. Their plant-based THC-free CBD complex helps rebalance the scalp for stronger, healthier looking hair. You guys, I am obsessed with the phyto-molecular oil for that weightless shine. And Jenna and I love the team and fix stick. We use it here in the studio. All of our flyaways and frizz. We know this. Growth does not stop at 40. Just needs a little support. Use code what she 15 for 15% off. - What are your thoughts on like these detoxes or the blood cleaning? - Ooh, I don't think it's possible. - I'm down for that, I'm doing it. - Where? - I'm coming with you. - I'm friends with Darshan Shah. He does it at Next Health. - Is that in Orange County? Is that where that is all over? - He's all over. He's in Calabatsas, I think. Next Health has clinics all over the country. - We're buying. - Ready. - Yeah. - Do you guys ever have, I'll introduce you guys to this wonderful. - Yeah, I definitely want to do that. - That's great. - On JevvyDoc. I think it's part of longevity protocols. Even in his clinics, the pre and post TPE protocol that you're doing leading up to TPE for about three to six months. And then afterwards, Includes body bio PC and balance oil because those are the fats that your body needs to start priming itself to start releasing a lot of these things I'm doing it mainly for lime I haven't done it yet. I'm scheduled to do it in September and I'm excited to do it Wow, but it's I mean it's it's pricey. It's not like it's yeah, it's a big ordeal in a in a space Right in this wellness health space that's like so saturated right now like you said the influencers who are just throwing their name on something How do you guys how is body bio? How are you sky scaling like how are you different? How are you? How are you getting the word out there that it's so unique and so different than anything else? That's on the market. I think the one thing that makes us so different than something that comes out today as we started with that doctor Trust so until 2019 we only sold to doctors You couldn't even get it if you were you know a chiropractor It was like MDs D.O.s and naturopaths. That was it those were the only people my grandfather would sell it So it was through your grandfather's business model So he just educated doctors told them about phospholipid therapy They would then go and to this day when you go to one of those old school doctors like my doctor Christine Propheta every single patient walks out taking PC balance oil buterate those are like What is the balance? What is the bounce oil because that I haven't tried. Yeah, it's um It's it's interesting. It's basically good seed oils The seed oil debate is become nuts Essential fatty acids are essential. We have to get them from our food We do not make them in our body. We make phospholipids in our body We do not make essential fatty acids and you need them for inflammation. You need them for Your skin your eye your cellular health it basically I always say this I sound like a broken record essential fatty acids make your cells look like a grape instead of a shriveled raisin They add that bounce Which is why most people when they first start taking it. They're like my skin's no longer dry my exa my clear job My you know skin feels bouncier and more kind of like vibrant It's because we we need these healthy fats and we're not getting enough of them. So you're hydrating inside out really and it's what's wild is For us like for my generation We have always and it's it's crazy because I have to still trick my brain not to think this I grew up with all of that Low fat milk low fat cottage cheese most detrimental. Yes, and even like your Carbs your crackers everything was low fat. We were always right We don't worry about calories fill us the fat content and it's and let's replace it with synthetic Yes, and so I most women I know it's like our minds are tricked into this crazy Horrible myth that we we can't get out of and that's probably why my body like I drink so much water Probably more water than anyone I know I just don't stay hydrated Yeah, you constantly realizing it. Well now I do over like the last year I'll put like salts in it and you know I'll take You know the IVs that go in your water, but I don't I still don't I don't know what it is about my body I'm the same because I just did a blood test and they were like you're not like staying hydrated So they could like see it in the blood and I blood was dark do the I guess I do The E-light I do the minerals I do keep doing that water you can up the dose I mean that's what charges your water right? That's what gives your water life. That's what gives your body life. We need minerals for I mean Thousands hundreds of thousands of biological processes in the body and we just don't get enough from our food anymore I mean you know this from The I mean we're talking about a farm like it's just it's hard to get that soil even to a place where the soil is healthy in today's world That's I was having this conversation with a doctor and a neurologist that I go see and he I was talking about when can I get back on my supplements because I just had a procedure and he's like Well, I just tell my patients to have the Mediterranean diet and I was like you have got to be kidding me We can't get enough from our soil. There's nothing in there. So we have to supplement Yeah, and then you live by a golf course and you're yeah in California pollution and the fires happen and there's all this stuff in the air How does that how does all this stuff go from circulating in the body into the cell that's leaky and affect your health and to MTHFR So it's exactly so you can't detox these things as well. So I need to keep it going So what are people getting wrong about fats and oils? There I think we're still avoiding them and I think the other problem is is we think we can just take olive oil and avocados and we're like Oh, but I eat you know I take a shot of olive oil every day olive oil is omega nine The parent essential fatty acids are omega three and omega six you need these two not that one that one's fine But it's not gonna like feed your brain the fats that it needs the most important fats for our brain are phospholipids and essential fatty acids 60% of your brain is fat those are the fats that make up your brain and so this is kind of you know take a fish oil or Eat avocados. It's not the right fats and so we're really trying to help people to understand that this right fat is about having a balance of these essential fatty acids Partnering them with the phospholipids and then you're really feeding yourselves the right nutrients that it needs and you do that through supplement So we don't need to talk about eating extra calories and now we feel tear about throw some raw nuts in your diet Those are a great way to get essential fatty acids. Is there a specific nut that you think is better? I do seed cycling so it depends on where I am in my cycle Sunflower seeds organic raw we're not talking salted almonds here. Oh They're good not not candy. No raw pumpkin seeds. We're all sesame seeds. We're all sunflower seeds Walnuts Brazil nuts my favorite snack. It is in my bag at all times is a macadamia nut I have it everywhere. I go. It's a pure fat if you let it on fire it literally blows up That's a very emergency So I always keep my keeping my car But not salted not roasted yeah, okay, and what about sprouted does that make a difference? Yeah, I mean it just that helps you digest it better So the sprouting kind of helps particularly for somebody like your son if they're having a hard time breaking those nuts down What I actually do is I will soak them in the light overnight and then I rinse them and then I put them in a blender and I put I'm in a little ice cube trays and I pop them in their smoothies and then you're getting like the pure healthy Facts and they're not oxidized. They're not treated. They're not sitting in a supermarket shelf Under bright lighting and being exposed to heat essential fatty acids healthy fats are unfortunately really really subject to oxidation And that is when you get into the seed oil conversation of like bad fats and what they do to yourselves So you talk about cycling that's an interesting thing because We take these supplements and then we think is this a forever thing to recycle them. How do we know what to do? For me the the fats so PC and balance oil are in every day for the rest of my life I just think in today's world we need the nutrients and we're not getting enough of it from your foods If you live on the equator and you're exposed to the sun every day and you have your own farm and you forage your own fruits and vegetables And you are living that life then maybe you're getting enough My grandfather would eat six raw egg yolks a day That's the highest source of phospholipid so you could possibly get raw raw Rough that's rough um And I think that there are certain things that it just depends on our bodies There's things that everybody needs and we've kind of put those into a little kit called cell essential So that's PC balance oil, butarate and remenralize and those are the four products that are They're not a cycle. They're an everyday thing And then other things that you might need at the time each cl you might need some digestive enzymes You might need some probiotics if you were just on antibiotics or you just had a procedure done Things that you cycle in and out of but I'm not like a probiotic everyday type person I think if you can get enough fiber from your diet great you don't need a supplement I think it just you know it depends on the individual's health and what about for okay Our our listeners, right? Let's just say 40 to 60 What are the three things that they can take that are life changing for their everyday life? PC balance oil, butarate that's it those are the three. Yeah And now is that in your forepack? Yeah, you just talked about it and then you have the minerals in there Okay, so I would say and you just start with the four So and what about in your 20s and you're trying to get pregnant and what does that look like? See These are products that benefit everybody at any stage of life male and female we all have cells We all need cellular support. Do you think a lot of this like this Cellular damage and do you think this has something to do with infertility with women nowadays 100% because like I kept thinking I'm having babies older and older you know 100% perimenopause Well, of course perimenopause 50 years ago. Don't you know what perimenopause was? It's a new marketing term Right like It's it's real not saying it's not real But it's because of today's world that we live in infertility issues Sure, of course. We're having babies later And our bodies have not like caught up to that But it's also the toxic sludge that we're living in today That is affecting our health you can't deny it when you see the rates of autism when you see the rates of kids of cancers When you see the rates of Alzheimer's and dementia. I mean, it's astronomical. Yeah, dementia is wild It's like Everyone is very scary. Elderly person I know has some form of dementia And so if today's world if if the biggest source of wealth is coming from An impact on your health and what you can do now Whether you're in your 20s 30s 40s 50s 60s to live better when you are in your 70s 80s and 90s It's not about living to 120 years old although you know daybass spray and people like that Want to do that. That's not something I aspire But I want to live really really well for the years that I'm living I want my parents to live really really well for the years that they're And enjoy life while you're here Be able to enjoy it and walk in You know play if you want to - Well, 100%. I mean, my grandfather was lifting weights at 95 years old every single morning in planet fitness. - Wow. - Heavy, heavy weightlifting. - Wow. - How old was he when he passed? - He was 95. I think he would have lived a lot longer. He passed doing something that the family really like didn't agree with. I think you can take biohacking too far. And he was doing biological dentistry surgery and it was in a surgery center that none of us would have thought he would ever go to and he went septic and passed away. - Wow. - Not from his family. - Just random, right? It wasn't. He went on this lifelong search to clear these cavitations. And this is when I think you can kind of take things too far in today's world. - He didn't need it. It wasn't like a-- - At 95, do you need surgery? - I know, you don't need a change in the bottom. - You don't need a change in your dental implants. - Which, let me just tell you a so neat to hear that because at 95, my grandmother just passed recently. Like one was 96, the other one was like 94 when she passed and complete opposite. Not mobile, like in for years. It was like horrible to watch because there was really, there was no lifestyle. There was no life. - No. - It was terrible. Like to live like that, I don't even see, I mean in my brain, not necessary. So I think that the longevity game is really being active, being mobile, enjoying life. - It is. - And your brain functioning. - Preserving your brain. - Right, really giving your brain the food, the nutrients that it needs, so that it is powerful and not deteriorating. - There's no atheists in a foxhole, right? So when you're sick, you're praying to God, like how can I fix this, how can I help? And I think that's what really resonated when I found you on social media. It's so attainable. It makes so much sense. You break things down so simply. You talk about like your real life experience and health is our wealth, right? That is the new luxury. That's what everybody's going for. And how are you, because I feel like this is scaling so big, right? Social media just makes everything blow up and you really have a authentic, clean, proven product. So how do you scale this and keep the product to the standards that you have now? - Well firstly, when you control everything that's involved in the process, then you see, you have oversight into that, right? You can scale without private equity, without somebody telling you to cut the costs, without somebody telling you, no, you don't need to use that form of less than for your PC. You're going to switch to this because remember, we isolate the phospholipids through our proprietary process, but it's from soy less than. That's the highest amount of phospholipids. So they could come in and say, no, you don't need to do this whole crazy process and employ 30 people that just make PC. Let's just use this less than you can still call it PC. - And so when you have those people running things, it's going to change things. - I'm going to shame in how American business is. Oh my God, it's crazy. - Yeah, it's been and I talk about it all the time because we have the luxury to sit here and be able to scale something and we really have over the last five years. I mean, it's incredible. We're out of stock of PC right now on the website of the capsule. - It's not the case. - We cannot keep it in stock. And no amount of forecasting, we have a phenomenal COO, we have a phenomenal CFO, we have such a tight knit group, little group of us that were running all the revenue forecasting, you couldn't even guess that it was going to grow at the rate that it did. And I think that that's really exciting because people are starting to really get it. And I think that what people don't, I think in today's world, people are looking for that trust. We are not changing the way it was made. We're expanding it. We just open a brand new facility just to make PC. We've ordered more of these extremely specific kettles that it's made in, that are actually made in Italy and shipped over. I mean, it takes six months to even get the thing to our offices. So my husband is instrumental in taking a look at all of this and putting the pieces together to build the architecture for that growth without outside capital. And so that I think has been really fun to do because we don't have anybody to answer to, right? I take a look at every single raw material. He's sitting with the quality control team, looking at every single test. How can we make these available to the public so we can be more transparent, which is what we're about to do. So we're going to release all of our CIVAs and everything on our website. How can we provide even more of that trust to people? And so while I am out there doing all the speaking of the science 'cause I got to sit for so many hours with my grandfather and learn about it, that's, I'm really fortunate to be in that space, but he's the one who's actually like building all the infrastructure to it. And it's really exciting to be able to do that together. - Your grandfather was really your professor, like a professor, literally. - Yeah, I'm literally who taught you while I was pregnant in my first. - And so your other family members as well or no? - So a couple other family members, my brother who lives here in LA is running a customer experience. So he's running the team of the people who answer phones and answer emails and any problems you have. We're not, you know, we really want to make it something that is you can call in and get help. We're going to expand that. We want to hire more nutritionists and dietitians and people who, if you call up and want to know about what foods to increase to get some of these nutrients will help share those types of insights. - That's great. - We want to expand testing. So blood testing that we currently only do for doctors that really looks at the cell and looks at the cellular level and sees how fats are affecting our health or not affecting our health. And let's see, my brother in law controls, he's the VP of brands. So he allows me to be able to come and do these things and travel and be like the face of the brand, but execute on all other levels and release product bundles and all of these things, new product development. I'm extremely involved in R&D. My husband's extremely involved in. So did you always know that you were going to do this? Like my grandfather had this business and I'm going to take it over. - No, no, I didn't even think about it to be honest with you. Like when I met him in my early 20s, I worked in PR. When I studied engineering in college, I ended up working in art gallery for eight years when my husband and I lived in London. And he worked at Fiji Water. So we worked for the wonderful company and then he was recruited by PepsiCo and he was selling as he says, sugary beverages to kids. And he felt awful about it. But it taught him the structure that you need in order to be a great CEO. And so he learned all that. And when we got married, my grandfather came over. I actually just found the picture of us on Thanksgiving in London. And we're sitting there. We have this brand new puppy. We had two little mini doxins. And my husband's sitting next to my grandfather. And in my mind, I'm like that was the point of time which my grandfather said, like, look, I've got something and I don't know what to do with it. And you think back to 2016 and he was just educating these doctors, 40, 50 doctors a year, it's not scalable. Right? So you're making these supplements. You've got these manufacturing, one manufacturing plant, which we've now expanded to three. And he was making these supplements. He didn't know how to market it. He would always say, we have the steak. They have the sizzle. We actually have the steak. Like we've got the real stuff. I just don't know what to do with it. And so my husband spoke to him over a long period of time, and he decided, okay, let's leave London. I got pregnant. And then I had the chance I was working in art and I came back, we were living in Philadelphia and it wasn't like a big art scene. I was an art advisor. And so I would just go in and sit with him every day. My husband used to go in and a suit to work and sit with my grandfather for hours. And we would say to him, like, pop up, what's butorate? Four hours later, we would walk out of the room and my husband's going, I don't know what it is. I don't know what, do you know what it is? I don't know what it is. We couldn't, like, this is, you know, before AI. That's funny. There was no chat you'd be need to put this conversation into and say, hey, give me a tagline. Yeah, bullet point. And so that was, you know, we recorded a ton of that. I mean, this library, he used to sit in this library that was just tens of thousands of scientific books and research papers. I mean, now what we have at our fingertips is unbelievable. If I say, like, give me the top 10 papers on butorate scientific studies. You get great stuff, incredible stuff on metabolic health and blood sugar regulation. And GI function and colon polyps, all of these things. But back then, you had to sit through papers in hospitals. Wow. Your grandfather, did he live to see the successes starting? Yeah. Yeah. He lived to see the first iteration of the rebrand that we did. That was my husband's idea. He said, look, you can't sell it with what it used to look like. It was these awful white bottles. We actually were originally stocked in the Erwan in Calabassas, Palisades and Beverly, like the original Erwan's. And they had every product on the shelf. But they didn't move because it just-- it looked so ridiculous. Nobody knew what these things were. And there was no explanation on the bottle. So that was the first rebrand. And then my husband said, I think we got to sell on Amazon. Thorn selling on Amazon. No other companies are doing it. Let's get on Amazon early and not it's done extremely well for us. I just saw-- and I don't know if it's true. Actually, what was going to be my next question to you is that some of the supplements are not authentic. So you're ordering supplements. And I'm like, how does somebody-- because the trust with your brand is so important. How do we know that it's your brand? Don't order an eBay. Yeah, of course. You have to do that. Of course, it's an eBay. We sell direct to Amazon. So when you buy and you check out and you see that the seller is BodyBio-- That is your store. That is our store. We employ an agency. And we have one full-time employee who literally works all day on shutting down and authentic resellers. So unauthorized resellers and fake products. What about diversion? Dude, people who you-- other-- or what are they? Like health food stores. Do they buy it and then push it through Amazon? And we shut them down immediately if they do. So the biggest one is pharmacist's buy it. And then we'll show up in the namens of the store. Does it show up in your packaging? Does it show up in BodyBio packaging? No, because it's fulfilled by Amazon. So it's FDA. So it's actually fulfilled in an Amazon center, which is why you're able to get the product so quickly, because in today's world of instant gratification, people want PC tomorrow. They've got to get it to them tomorrow. And so we work with Amazon. We won't ever come off of Amazon. It's kind of a necessary evil in today's e-commerce world. And I think how often have you heard of something on a podcast? And you go maybe to their Instagram, you full around with it, you see some ads, and you go to Amazon and buy it. It's just habit now. It's a little shop. Yeah. It's great to have the e-commerce store. We do more on our direct-to-consumer business than we do on Amazon. But it's close. I mean, it's up there. And that's reassuring to know that it is your brand. If you're buying it from Body Bio. There was a time when we had a contract with a distributor that was our distributor for Central America. And this was a huge thing. My husband and I went down there. We met them face-to-face with them, start shipping them product. They're ordering huge amounts of product. All of a sudden it starts showing up on Amazon as sneaker mecca or whatever it was. And they were just reselling it. And so we had to shut down that distributor. And there's so many things behind the scenes. I can do all this fun stuff and talk about the science and talk about my personal health stories. But behind the scenes, the structure of running a 85-person company and manufacturing in the crisis of if a lab goes down and you can't get the results right away, but the product's out of stock. But you can't release it because we need to get this lab report in to make sure exactly what's on the bottle is in the bottle. A lot of other companies don't deal with this kind of stuff. They'll just release it and say, it doesn't matter. And so just make sure you're buying it from Body Bio. I love the integrity. What is next? Is there a next product coming? Yeah, there's lots of products coming. I'm working on a PC gummy. I just got the first iteration of it. So now it'll go into testing. But the taste is actually amazing, which I'm so excited about. We've got an expanded stuff under minerals. Things that'll make it more easy to travel with. So we're working like daily serve packs so that you can travel with the supplements and take them every day. Got plus will be coming back at some point. This was a cult product that we had to take. We had to stop production of it because of quality. And so whereas other companies would just continue making it and do some R&D in the background to fix it, we were like, no, they're changing one of the ingredients. The raw material came in. One day it was this. The next day it was Tribute Terran plus Guargum. I was like, what? Guargum and our supplement? Well, a lot of companies would just continue to make it. We said, no, we've got to stop. And we're going to fix this and make it even better. Was that a probiotic? Prebiotic? It's a pre in a post. So it's not a synbiotic in that it has all three. It's the pre in the post because so often that pro, you don't know if you need it. It's like planting a tree in a rain forest. You have no idea if that's going to take. Our everybody's gut is so different. It's so wild what we're taking, like all this shit that we're putting in our body and like 90% of it isn't working. And now we just hope. We're just hoping like we're such consumers. And we see influencers and we see people with results. And we just-- College and-- I mean, our medicine calisthenics. A lot of drones and this. And that-- yeah. Yeah, it's crazy. I mean, the shit I put in drinks and I'm mixing in the morning. But you feel good? I mean, that's going back to what I said at the beginning of the pod is, you know, I'm so used to being tired. I'm so used to feeling worn out. And I don't know. Like, look, I feel like-- I feel a mom of young kids. I think that's what it is. It shouldn't be an excuse, right? Like, we have an excuse for everything. It's like, oh, we're in parimenopause. You have three kids. Oh, you're going through a stressful time. Your father-- there's all these different things. And it's like, no, I should still feel fucking good. I should still-- Have you done any, like, toxin testing? No. So one thing I love to get people to do-- I love on a golf course. I probably am full of toxin. You're-- She glies in the dark. You can either run. Yeah, it's going to be through the roof. But there are things you can do to offset that. They promised us it safe. Right? Just like they said, smoking was safe so long ago, right? Oh, my gosh. But I think you can start off with-- you can do all the things. You can go to all the doctors. It's pretty simple what functional doctors are doing in today's world. They're doing a toxin test. They're looking at the various different toxins. So whether you're going to use a vibrant wellness, total tox, I personally like mosaic and viratox plus. So that's like my go-to. I'll do it once a year. And you're seeing where all your levels are at. It's your-- It's a blood test or a stool test. It's urine. Oh, OK. It's not as bad as doing a stool test. Although I recommend doing those yearly too. And you can camera as on your toilet. Have you seen this? I have seen this. I'm like, this is incredible. But do you want your biofilm-- Wait, what is this? I don't know. --a camera that goes on your toilet. And it takes a picture of it. I forget the name. Somebody sent me their deck recently. But it's interesting because the color and variation and texture mean so much. So they can tell you based on your stool, like what your body's going through. Oh, wow. That goes back to-- I think just to go back to, do I feel like should every day? No. But do I know what feeling great is? I don't even know. I don't know. Right? I don't know what that benchmark should be. Because I take so much stuff all the time. So there's days I feel amazing. And then there's mornings I'm a little sluggish. That's-- You know, it goes up and down. So I don't know that benchmark. Because I'm also every few months I see something new. I want to try that. And also are there things that counteract? So we're going to put in these amazing supplements. So you have the butyrate. You have the things for your stomach. And then you're drinking a coffee. That's from Starbucks. It has microplastics inside of it. So it's like are we counteracting all the good things we're putting in our body? This is the coffee bring you joy. I also think that there's that element of it that's really important. Do I suggest people go out and drink Starbucks coffee? No. I like to drink cleaner coffee, mold-free coffee. It's glyphosate, and you know, pesto-- Organic coffee is always going to be better. You guys are so lucky in California. You can get raw milk. I mean, super food. Like I give it to my kids every single morning. So coffee with a raw cream, raw milk, that's great. That's not going to counter back balance things. My grandfather drank coffee every single day. He loved it. I mean, it's also a brain stimulant, right? And I like it for that benefit. My happiest part of my day is my cup of coffee before my children are up in the morning by myself. It's like religion for me. Yeah, it's like-- It's really-- I actually have been doing this thing where I'll take a shot of PC first, so I'm not drinking coffee on an empty stomach. You're getting in fats that are not actually breaking a fast, if you fast. Or you're getting in some brain food and some pure fat. So then your blood sugar's not going to spike as much. But I can do that with the pills as well. You can take-- You know, if you want to take 12 pills in the morning, take 12 pills. I usually just take my shot of liquid. Then I have my coffee. I would love to be able to eat breakfast for a single in the morning. I cannot do that with three dogs and three kids. So it's-- I'm like a farmer in the morning, shepherding kids outside and the dogs and the puppies. It's crazy. So I do what I can. But I think that it really just depends on the balance. I think that stressing about things is worse than just doing what you can. But I think getting a baseline of testing once a year where you do a functional stool test, you do a toxin test. You take a look at this, and then you work with a practitioner and say, OK, what am I going to do? If that practitioner does not include PC and balance oil, energy toxification protocol, get a new one. Because it is the most foundational critical piece to getting ourselves thriving and more resilient. I have one important question. No, cahol. Yeah. Where do we stand on that drink? But my husband does. Loves wine, collects wine. I will always have a little taste of it, just because I love the flavor. I love the taste of it and to get to share that with him. I just can't drink. I get histamine reactions. I get headaches. I get flushed. Like how many people do you know? All of a sudden, turn like 35 years old. And they're like, why can't I drink anymore? Why am I getting headaches? Why am I constantly hungover? One day, I just had it with it. And I couldn't do it anymore. That's for me. My husband can metabolize it fine. He gets none of that. His sister could drink him under the table, and she's fine. At the end of the day, it's still a neurotoxin. So it's not like drinking every day is fine. But I think that balance as well is important. Well, I go out occasionally and have a martini, maybe. I do a lot of stuff to prep before and afterwards. Is it actually the thigh on it? Is it included in that? Yeah. So I do like a liposomal glutathione when I get home. I take a bunch of PC when I get home and taking my electrolytes. I'm drinking them. Is my sleep going to be disrupted that night? 100%. I'll sleep like shit. You know, you win some, you lose some. But I think also like there's other things today. I love all these NA different drinks. I love to just like have something at the end of the day that's something I can have. But I just, me and alcohol do not buy, unfortunately. Yeah. I mean, not so unfortunately, it is not good for us. I know all the studies are coming out that it's just terrible for you. But for me, alcohol is not my thing. Sugar is my thing. Yeah. A Swedish gummy is, I'm all about that. I don't care about coffee. I don't care about alcohol, but that's like my jam. Yeah. So just moderation. Right. Yeah. And you know what I love doing? Like when I indulge in, you know, desserts or something or I eat at a restaurant, I just pop to butorate afterwards. And you can wear a CGM and see it'll keep your blood sugar balanced. Oh. So even if you take, you know, if you're eating a little bit of those gummies and you want to eat a cleaner one without dyes and a bunch of crap, which the Swedish ones typically are, take to butorate afterwards. I love these tricks. Yeah. A full of them. Yeah. Next time we talk to you, we're like, "No, no, we're just drinking it over here out of our. " Yeah, we're gonna be doing. No water and balls today. We're gonna be pros at that video. Well, I'm gonna tell you what I am doing. I'm gonna start everything that you've said, the things I'm not doing already. And I'm gonna get my children on it immediately. Yes, 100%. And my mom. How old are your kids? I have two nine year olds and a 12 year old. Yeah, so they can take. do they take capsules? No. You will want to get. for buterate, you still want them to get some buterate because they're not eating enough fiber today. There's no way kids are producing enough. And you live on a golf course, so their gut is going to tend towards more disrupted because the what glyphosate does to the chica mate pathway and how it like alters are gut bacteria. So they're little gut bacteria not producing enough buterate. And over time, that's gonna cause GI issues. It's gonna cause a whole host of other things. So purin capsules makes a liquid buterate and it tastes like blueberry. It's fine. I give it to my kids. And that is a great thing that they can take. During a meal or anytime. Anytime. So usually I just try to keep it easy with vitamins so we'll do them like first thing in the morning. So one of my kids, I'm pretty sure all three but I've only had one tested as MTHFR so I give him like very specific vitamins before school and B vitamins because I want him taking the right ones for him, not full eight. And then they get PC depending on if it's winter, maybe they get vitamin D3, K2 always, they get buterate. And then, you know, just depends. Like my little one just had to take antibiotics. I'm not like a uber crunchy mom who won't do stuff like that. He needed antibiotics. He had pneumonia. And I'm doing like a whole gut protocol just for getting the right good bacteria in, doing probiotics, doing extra buterate, extra PC, just really getting his gut kind of back in order. Do you have supplements for a pancreas support? I think that just depends. My favorite pancreas support is going to be I really like pancreatin which is a digestive enzyme that helps that's usually secreted from the pancreas to breakdown fats. Is that like pancreas? Is that the 1300? Like that one? I don't know. It's a couple of different ones. My favorite one is ox bile with pancreas and vital nutrients. That's the one I'll take when I'm when I'm kind of feeling a little off. Yeah. This is amazing. Yeah. I mean, so much. I'm going to be like, oh my gosh. I'm going to hold it on my phone and be like, put in my cart whatever we need. Yeah. My kids don't know what's coming to them. My kids, my husband, my dogs, I'm going to be shocked about PC and my dogs water. I don't know. I'm going to just. My dogs get PC or dogs get balance oil every day. That's interesting. Our big girl. We have a Belgian Malinois who's starting to get some kind of hip inflammation issues. So she goes to a functional vet. She gets PC every day. How does she get that PC? What does it come in? Food. The dogs love it. I'm thinking. So for arthritis, for arthritis, I'm giving her our resolve in. So have you heard of the product SPM active? No. Have you ever seen this metagenics product? No. It's, they're called specialized pro-resolving mediators. They're these really incredible molecules. They're made synthetically. And then the natural sources come from breast milk or caviar. So the synthetic version, both versions, go into the source of where inflammation is occurring. So if it's arthritis or an autoimmune issue or a skin condition, psoriasis, they go to the source and they start to kind of put out the fire at the source. And so I love, I mean, I recommend people eat caviar all the time. So you don't have one now? We do. It's called Resolven and ours is called Press Caviar. So it's DHA phospholipid, DHA, fish oil. It's from caviar. Okay. But it has the naturally occurring SPMs in it. And that's a capsule. So my kids get that as well. But what about for my dog? How do I do that? So I give my Belgian Malinois three a day. And you open it? And you open it? Yeah, you just eat it. And the capsule formers you cuddle. You cuddle. Oh, they eat it. You just eat it. You just eat it. Yeah, I throw them as like treats and they jump up in the air and grab them. The docs and actually will like beat everybody too all because probably goes too slow to the ground. And she gets more than anybody probably. We do. But their coats are beautiful. And it's great. They're made up of cells, right? They need the same self food that we need. So true. Because it minds getting older and I'm constantly running to the vet with like hip issues, leg issues, arthritis. Yeah. So RSV2 chiropractic, we do red light, we do laser therapy, we have very targeted supplementation for them. Oh my god, I want to beat your dog. We just adopted a new dog and he's a, I'm obsessed with him. He's a pit boxer like retriever, something totally random. He's so beautiful. He looks like a little manatee. He's all black. It's my first pit that we've had. We always had these purebred docks and or this Belgian malinois and like they're very fancy dogs. And this is like this little street guy. I'm obsessed with him. But somebody came to our house the other day and they said, God, you really hit the lot. He hit the lottery. Like he lives in this house where he's already getting. How do you get this all done? Three dogs, three kids. Running this company. Building such a brand, traveling and learning, educating yourself as the world changes in our body. You know, our body's changed in nutrition. And staying on top of all this stuff without sitting on social media all day because I have very strong like boundaries with it. We have a lot of help. So we have a full time nanny that helps. We have kids four, six and eight. My mom moved a year ago to be closer to me. So we have my mom, my stepfather, a full time nanny housekeeper. Like it's a village. It is a village. I need that village. My mom's best friends are at my house almost every single day. So I will come home and my kids will be doing homework either with my mother or her friends, which is like such a beautiful thing. Incredible. And these are there like aunties that they've been around their whole life who I grew up with. And I think it takes that type of village to be able to do what we do because Brad travels a lot for work. I have to travel a decent amount. I pack things in like I did with this trip to make sure. Okay, I can bring my daughter here. She can get to see it. She's with my brother right now. And it just, it does. It takes a village. It takes a lot of mental power just to be able to organize it all. I'm really specific with calendar blocking and time blocking. So like this is when I'll do content. This is when I'm with family. This is, you know, we do not look at phones after six o'clock type of thing. Sometimes it's just exhausting. But it's great that you have a boundary because you have time for yourself. Well, and I've burned out. There's been probably two times in the six years that I've been doing this that I've really burnt out. And what happens to me is that line creeps up. My line numbers go up. My Epstein bar numbers go up. I feel like I've mono. My thyroid starts going crazy. And I'll get extremely hyper thyroid. Like my, my body just cannot handle it. And that's how I burn out and it happened in September of this year. And you just know like, okay, I have to slow down. I canceled all travel podcast. I said, I'm not doing anything until February. And I just blocked that time to be able to spend three weeks in my kids over Christmas skiing and like doing things that felt, felt really good for me. So next thing I'm taking up is surfing. Oh, I'm going to do that in Nashville. Yeah, I mean, no, you're not, you're not Nashville. Where are you in the little field? We are in, so we're in like a New Jersey. Yeah, we're in New Jersey. We're in one of the barrier islands, which is near Atlantic City. So we're at the beach, which is wonderful. Okay. Yeah, you can surf there. Skying is my other big thing. It's something my husband and I love to do together. The kids are getting into it. But it's, you know, for me, like these two extremes of like, you're just trying to stay alive that I think kind of help the central nervous system to just like really check out of everything. Wow. Yeah. All I've got you from the sand. Right now I can't, I don't have time to work out. I'd love to be doing like heavy lifting. I think that I, I just met with Bonda Wright when we were on a retreat. And like just hearing her talk about how important in midlife heavy lifting is. And all of these things and like, I'm thinking to myself, God, I need to get in and do that. I can't. And so I'm not going to put too much pressure on myself to try to figure that out. Yeah. Well, you're not close to midlife yet, right? 42. So yeah, getting there. What's categorized as midlife now? Yeah, I don't know. I think it's sort of pretty deep. Yeah. Fifty. Yeah, 50. So. But the more I'm doing now, the better I'm going to feel at 50. Yeah. It's true. And for us, that really changed. Like for me, just the heavy lifting, that changed my body, that changed the way that I had a relationship with, exercise. And it is true. And that is, I think for women, it's probably the most important thing that we do because our bone density and our core is our balance. It's really what we need as we get older. It's like all the supplements are brain. This, that's one thing you need to find 15 minutes. Yeah. 15 minutes. Even if it's just like have a kettlebell at home and do squats and do that, it's a 15 minutes. What I said to Vonda that was very interesting was, yes, of course, lifting. It's really important. Biological HRT, really important, particularly for women and menopause. But during menopause, we stop producing as much PC in our body. So our endogenous production of it in the body goes off a cliff during menopause because you lose estrogen and you're losing this enzyme called PEMT that estrogen supplies. And that PEMT is responsible for converting phosphatidocolline in the body. So you're losing even more. So we really are, we do get worse than men. I mean, that's definitely a true thing because men's testosterone levels will gradually decrease. Like for women, it's for them. Well, thank God we have you with all your information and your company, a company that we can trust, a company that will make us feel that we're living our best life. We will. The second half is the better half. Yeah. And we are so grateful to have you. Thank you for your time. We'll have whatever you are healing. Whatever you guys create, we're taking it. Yeah, we're taking it. Thank you. Thank you so much. Thank you. If this episode resonated with you, send it to a friend. And while you're here, take a second to rate, review, and drop a comment. Summary:

FAQs

Body Bio was originally founded on blood tests in the early 1990s, which identified vitamin deficiencies. It later pivoted to developing nutrients after finding consistent deficiencies in healthy fats.

The first product was an electrolyte concentrate, created by the founder in the 1980s for marathon runners. It was based on IV ringer solution and sold at marathons.

Cellular level refers to the health of your cells, which make up all organs. As we age, cell membranes lose protective fats, becoming leaky and affecting functions like hormone regulation and detoxification.

PC replenishes healthy fats in cell membranes, improving cellular function. Users often notice better brain clarity and recall, especially those with MTHFR gene mutations who need more support.

Tudca is a bile salt that thins bile to support liver and gallbladder health. It's taken with food, often after meals, and helps with fat digestion and preventing gallstone buildup.

Butyrate is a postbiotic produced in the gut that feeds colonocytes and supports immune function. Modern disruptions like antibiotics and pesticides reduce its production, so supplementation helps maintain gut health.
