Stay Fixed In 2026! (Pt.6)

Welcome back to our NLC weekly podcast where we are encouraged from the Word of God that's preached in our services every Sunday morning. Here is this week's message. Chacha, are you ready for the word? I want to go straight into the Word of God and not to share it together. But as I do, I want us to interact a little with the Word. Is that okay? So I'm going to stop you at some point and I'm going to ask you to do something. Is that okay? Can we do that? Okay. So these are scripture we all know by now by heart. So let's go into it. Right? Massage of the 7 was 24 and 25 from the message Bible. It says, "These words I speak to you are not incidental additions to your life, homo-na improvements to your standard of living. They are foundational words, words to build a life on. So what words are these foundational? This is Jesus speaking. Do you know what words is referring to? Is referring to the someone on the mount. Right? And he's saying, "All these words I've spoken to you from Massage of the 5 to Massage of the 7, they are all foundational words." "Cindio, this is where the interaction comes." So for us to move on, the person next to you really needs to remember and really needs to be reminded what some of the words about the someone on the mount were. Sava Sava. And you got them. Cindio. And this is your turn to flex. Flex on your neighbor and tell them, "By the way, this is what it says. This is how it goes. Sasa. All right. So please remind them. Let me just give you one to slide in right there. All right? The someone on the mount, the Beatitudes. Please tell them one of the Beatitudes. There. You got them. All right? Just one. Just remind them. These are the words we are talking about today. Okay? Awesome. You're good. They're fine. They're okay. They're okay. Sasa. They're good. They're good. They're like, "Ah, what are you saying? They are them. They're like, "Ah, I knew that. I knew that." All right. So what happens? What happens about this foundational words? What happens to our lives? Ready? Let's keep going. If you work these words into your life, you're like a smart carpenter who built his house on solid rock, rain poured down. There is a flooded, atonedo heat, but nothing moved that house. It was fixed to the rock. Massey. Scripture comes alive. When we interact with it, when we share it, see you. Thank you for engaging with me. I was quite far. I have to say, this month, we've been looking closely at what it really means to be fixed and how we can do that. Not just what, but also how, right? Not just as a slogan, not as a feeling, but as a way of living. Wow. See, Scripture paints the picture for us. A house fixed to the rock. Thank you so much, Pastor John, for the visual. Last Sunday, Andy. That is so clear. Now, I know exactly what you're talking about, right? The rain comes, the wind blows, and the storms do what storms do. And yet, this house never seems to fall. This year, we are learning how to live like that, not shaken by pressure, not ruled by fear, not moved by every changing circumstance, right? And as we continue to unpack the meanings of the word fixed, we are trusting God to study our marriages, God to secure our families, God to strengthen our work and to anchor our very lives. That's what we are believing for. And by the way, church, we are the ones who are saying, we are willing to do the work, right? We are willing to pay the price. We are willing to make the necessary adjustments. So when the storms come and they will, we won't be worried. We won't be undone. We won't be shaken. We won't be moved. We know what we'll do. We will stand. We will be secure. We will be settled. And we will be safe because we are fixed to the rock. So let's keep learning more on how to stay fixed in 2026. Are you ready? So as teenagers, I don't know if there's anyone who has ever done this, we're going to go to a bus, a Masri, Anganya, and we would stand at the back of the Anganya standing, okay? And you know there's an aisle. We'd go to the back of the aisle and we would try to fix our feet on the bus. And then we would wait for the Masri guy or for the driver to take off. And the hope was that I would stay fixed. And you know, like I would try, did you guys ever try that? You guys are nice. As you did. So the one who would do it is the one who would stay. But Masri, there's a time where the driver would just have other ideas. And Masri, see he would just either break or just stew you. And when he do that, Masri, if you're not fixed well, you'd find yourself saying hi to the driver or something. This is from the back of the bus, Masri. And all along the way, you're trying to hold onto anything. Masri, you're holding onto a hundred bucks, hoping that that will help you. Nothing. You're trying to hold onto a four-year-old, hoping, hey, Masri, you're the nothing. You would find yourself either with a conductor or with a driver there or with a guy just standing at the front. And the thought was if I can just stay fixed, right? And the desire that push was to stay on the foundation went wrong off. The same can be said of houses and our walk of sanctification. The house wants to stay fixed on the foundation. The house will do everything to find equilibrium, to fight all opposing forces in order to stay on the foundation. It will endure wind forces, gravitational forces, lateral forces. The house will bear crux, it will release any extra load because it has to stay on the rock. It has to stay on the foundation. The house knows that its only option of survival is by clinging onto the foundation. If it leaves that foundation, the house is done. It collapses. Without the foundation, the house is done. The house wants to stay fixed on the rock. The believer should want to stay fixed on the rock. It is his or her only option of survival. When the believer is thrown off, they will try and grasp onto anything or anyone. Doesn't matter how strong or not. It doesn't matter if it's a handbag. It doesn't matter if it's a foyer or he will do everything in order to find their stability. And today, if you found yourself trying everything to make sense of life and feel like you're holding onto any world view, any thought, any idea, any ideal or wildly partner, if you found yourself, that's what you're trying to do. It could be that you've lost your footing on the rock and you need to find your way back to the correct foundation. Nothing else, your only option of survival is the rock. So stop trying to grab anything and instead ask for help on how to get back to the steady foundation. The house's only option for survival is to stay fixed on the rock. The believer's only option of survival is to stay fixed on the rock. Don't find yourself out there with a driver. Fix yourself on the correct foundation. Amen? So today, let's explore the last meaning. You know, pasta don't give us four meanings. I don't know if you guys can remember. And I want to thank all the pastors because that's what they have been powerfully and practically breaking down each Sunday. Thank you guys so much as you broke down all the meanings. And I want to just remind you, pasta don't set this. That the power of a words meaning lies in its ability to shape reality, to influence behavior, to activate deep emotional responses. Meaning if you understand this word, if you understand this meaning, it has the power to shape your reality, to influence your behavior, and to activate deep emotional response. So let's lock in and try and unpack our last definition. Our last definition for today is fixed. And it means to provide or supply with something needed or wanted. I don't know if you've been following and you were like, yes, finally, we've gotten to it the place of provision to be thicker. So let's begin by stating the obvious from this definition. Right? Number one, there is a provider. Is that true? That's the obvious. So number two, there is provision for what is needed or wanted. Right? There is provision. And number three, there's a receiver. There is a receiver or a recipient. Who is the provider? God. Who is the receiver? Me, the believer, right? And so I just want you to hear some phrases that add on and make this definition even reach out. When you hear that word fixed, it means to make ready, to provide for, to prepare, to punish. All right? If I was asked to use the word fixed in a sentence, you know how I saw you told me and I know fixed because I'm tensed. See, no. These are, these are, these are what I'd say, okay? These are what I'd say, I'd say this, okay? This is me trying to explain the word fixed using a sentence. Oh my days fam, let me tell you this week. Yo, my wife shoved up some fire food, man, we were tapped out. She wasn't done though. She topped it off with an angel food cake as dessert and man she ate that up. Can't lie, it was fire as well. I'm going to put out an angel on a very, very old club for hooking me up with that. As, I know you all look at me like, what's happening? Really what I just said is my wife fixed us up a meal to remember. She fixed us a meal that way, but the time we were done, we were like, okay, that was a meal. That was amazing. She provided, she prepared, she finished us with a meal. Now here is the definition in actual. This is where this word fixed, so this definition of fixed came from in scripture. Psalms 12 verse 7, from the amplified it says, he shall not be afraid of evil tidings. His heart is family fixed, trusting, leaning on and being confident in the Lord. Did you see that word? Family fixed. We need to verse 7, we can also say that his heart is family fixed. His heart is family provided for, prepared, punished, made ready, fully supplied with what's needed or wanted. Man, that's a good one. The question I again want to take you back to is, who is he? He just said he shall not be afraid. Who's the he they're talking about? There must be a type of person who gets this kind of provision from the Lord. There has to be. And before we get into who this person is, let's see what kind of provision they receive from the Lord, okay. And guys, if you're like, I want that, please write it. As we go into this exposition, okay. As we go into this time where we are going to look at the full book of the full chapter of Psalms 1, 12 and discover what this guy actually gets. Like if you hear anything resonates with you, please write it down. Okay. Are you ready? It's a long one. I'm going to read it. Psalms 1, 12 from chapter 1 to 9 says, "Braise the Lord, how joyful are those who fear the Lord and delight in his commands. Their children will be successful everywhere. Amen." An entire generation of Godly people will be blessed. Amen. They themselves will be wealthy. Amen. And their good deeds will last forever. Amen. Light shines in the darkness for the Godly. They are generous. They are compassionate. They are righteous. God comes to those who lend money generously and conduct their business fairly. Hey, guys. Look at what Mosaic is getting. Such people will not be overcome by evil. Those who are righteous will be long remembered. They do not fear bad news. They confidently trust their Lord to care for them. They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will be remembered forever. They will have influence and honor. Just a few things that I read that I saw out there. One of the things that they get is legacy. An entire generation will be blessed. Right? They have legacy. They have wealth. Amen. "More than enough to be generous and share freely and give generously to those in need." Another word I thought that came through from that one is stability. Verse 7 says, "They are not afraid of bad news. Light shines in their darkness." Man. Look at all that is in it for such a person. I left out some good ones for you to write down. So please, capture everyone that you want. Call it. You know how much we grub? Grub them all. I grub them all. I want them all. Anyway, don't you agree that I want to be that person who will receive from the provider this and even more that is available to you? So let's talk about this kind of person. Are you ready? The type of person who receives what's needed or wanted from the provider is the righteous person. As the kind of person who receives this. When you look at the headings of this chapter in your Bible, they will read the righteous are blessed. It will read the righteous will never be moved. Blessed is the righteous man or the traits of the righteous. Like that's the idea. That's what God is trying to say. The person who gets this kind of provision from Psalm 12 verse 7 that his heart is firmly fixed is a righteous person. The Bible consistently paints the picture that a righteous man is provided for. He is punished. He is given whatever he needs in order to stay fixed on the rock. Isn't it no wonder that this sort of person will do anything to stay on the rock? Like I want this. Like the house I want to stay fixed. Take a look at these scriptures as they confirm the statement that the righteous person truly righteous people are truly punished, prepared to stay fixed. Are you guys ready? These are scriptures. You've always had. But when you hear them together, you can see, honestly, you'll see the trail. Are you ready? Matthew chapter 5 verse 6 says, "Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness. For they will be." Matthew 6, 33 says, "But first and most importantly, seek aim at, strive after his kingdom and his righteousness, his way of doing and being right, the attitude and character of God. All these things will be." Psalm 84 11. "For the Lord is our son and our shield. He gives us grace and glory. The Lord will withhold no good thing from those whose way is." So going back to our definition, fix this to be supplied with what is needed or wanted. Who is the provider again? God. What is the provision? God withholding no good thing. And all of the rest of these amazing promises in Psalms 12, 12, 1, 9 and who is the recipient, the righteous person. Let's explain what the right righteousness is. Are you ready? I know it's uneasy what to say. It's uneasy what to believe. It's uneasy what to coin. But let's really discuss and discover what it's about. Righteousness is a right relationship with God and with man that you enter into through faith and obedience. You know, this is definitely not an exhaustive meaning, but one that will help us today in exploring what it takes to stay fixed in 2026. In ancient time, the right righteousness was actually a very common word. It wasn't just in the Bible, it was a common word and it was common vocabulary and we used it in everyday conversation. And truly, it's a word that should be included in our daily lives because it affects our decisions, it affects our attitudes and it affects our responses in all situations. When it's original use, the word righteous was a term of construction. It was the idea that a line was straight. Like imagine a plum line. When the plum line would go up to the top to the bottom, that line, if it matched or that wall, if it matched that, it would be righteous. That makes sense. A wall was considered righteous because it was straight. A person was considered righteous because his relationship with God aligned with the values he portrayed, aligned with his relationship and how he treated with his colleagues, his classmates, his children, his spouse, his friend, it aligned with how he treated the less fortunate. It aligned with the ones that came out from his mouth. Basically, if you trust his life, he would draw a straight line. Everything was a straight line from top to bottom. It aligned. Everything lined up. AWS says it this way. Righteousness is the courage to be a straight line in a wall that has forgotten what straight line looks like. Righteousness is a courage to be a straight line in a wall that has forgotten what straight line looks like. As you leave out this straight line life, the things that were spoken of as promises come as a result of you enjoying and finding yourself in that lifestyle as you enjoy being fixed to the rock. Have you guys seen guys like that? Maserat, they're not even trying. God just keeps blessing them, keeps sorting them out, keeps increasing them. Like they were lying themselves with his way so much so that fearlessness, fairness, compassion, health, legacy is a byproduct of their lifestyle. Man, I want that. I want in. Like I want that lifestyle where all these things literally are a byproduct of their life I have chosen. Of the willingness to stay fixed on this rock so that I can align myself with his way every time. So today, if you want to stay fixed to be provided for, to be punished with, to be prepared for, to be made ready in all season in 2026. Number four, desire, develop and dedicate yourself to God's right way of living. Desire guys, those were such clear instructions for me to say and to say those three days. Like I wasn't trying to be clever truly, truly that was, I had the Lord said guys it's more than desire. You have to develop, it's more than develop, you have to dedicate. You have to do it. And you know to get that straight line is possible, right? But it's not easy. Let me tell you why it's not easy. When I left high school, I got a job. I decided to just walk, you know, you know, find something to do. So I became a radio, a radio installer, like an internet radio installer. And that what basically meant would be I would climb up masks and set up a radio. So just try and make sure so that this radio would have line of sight so that you could receive internet wherever you are. So the radio would connect to the base station and once those two are connected, you have internet awesome, right? It was only 128 KBPS. That was fast back then, you know. So one day, I was, I moved on up, you know, I was there and he just trusted me. It was a small company but when I was doing the most. So one day I was told fights, you've been promoted. You're no longer the masked climber. You'll be the masked maker. All of a sudden, we were given the opportunity to make so much more money by taking control of the whole process. So what did it need? It needed me to go and build the mask. So I go and I had to build the mask. The only instruction I was given was, please make sure that your base is level. Simple, right? Guys, I was 19, I was naive. From this place forward, from this point onwards, don't judge me too harshly. So I go and I find the guys who are there and ask them, hey, by the way, I need to set this base and set this base here. You know what they said? Sure, by the way. And then I see three people with tarimbo. Three guys, they just come. Ah, you guys know what that tarimbo is? Okay, I'm not like this cutting, the kalong cutting. Like when you see the kalong cutting, you know this guy is a Mason. This guy is a builder. This guy is good at his work. Cindy, Cindy, what do you want to put there? Okay, okay, they came with tools that look like construction tools. So anyway, they come and they tell me we can do this. Sasa, I tell them, no, but you know guys, I really need it done. Sasa, they told me we can do it for you in three hours. They have the tools. I believed them. I believed them. So they did it and they finished and they said, this thing is now ready. You can put your masks. Have you seen the masks? Have you seen how many they are? You know, one of them is just six meters. One of them is just about 22 kgs. They told me it's fine. It's fine. We got you. So they said, I asked them because I was asked, is this thing level? They said, eh, it costs a lot. Guys, I have learnt a lot in life that they are things called spirit levels that you can literally use. There's a plumber and that you can literally use to check for leveling. But I didn't. I chose to go by and do the thing that he wanted me to do. So the next day, I decided to start with my masks. Guys, I put down the first mask and I was asked, is this thing level? I said, yeah, yeah, they said it was level. So I said, so I did it. So I put it down the first one. The first one looked good was, you know, you know, like, eh, your Caluenza, I did the second one. A leaning tower of pizza. Where? I'm like, this is not good. This is not good. So, but the place I was in, lead at three or more, so I had to put the third one. So I put the third one and then I put the third one. Eh, it was going. Like guys, I am not kidding. It was falling over. So I did what anyone, I mean logical would do. You see the tension wires. I put them hoping that they will straighten, right? See, because that's what you see in movies. That's what you see at home when something is not straight. You use something extra. So, you know, ladies and gentlemen, the tension wires are for wind. They're not for straightness. Can I just say, I cost my company thousands of shillings and I was, I've never built a master after that. I lost all credibility. And I want to finish using that story by helping us or by sharing with us some thoughts on leaving the straight line of righteousness. Thought number one or thought, just one thought is righteousness takes time. Galatians 6.9 says, and let us not lose heart and grow weary and faint in acting nobly and doing right for in due time and at the appointed season we shall reap. If we don't loosen and relax our courage and faint. What should have taken me three weeks in curing? I wanted it done in three hours. That's what destroyed the whole process. In a hurry to get a habit corrected in still in your life, you can easily overlook deeper issues you need to deal with because you only want to see gains and not to change. Leave the straight line. Consistency will beat intensity every day of the week. We want a quick fix because you want to see the end goal. You want to see the product, the money, the opportunity, but the truth is we have to be willing to let the Holy Spirit take his time in forming us to be a straight line. Another thought, there are no substitutes for right. There are no substitutes for right. First, Samuel 15, verse 22 says, and Samuel said, "Has the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as in obeying the voice of the Lord, behold, to obey is better than sacrifice and to listen better than the farts of rams." "Charge, tensioned ropes are for the wind, not for straightening a mast." Presence will never substitute presents. Gifts will never substitute you being there. Ignoring an offense will never substitute dealing with it. You cannot substitute complaining because you wanted to confront. You cannot substitute shallow apologies for making amends. "Yall, this one is as real to me as it is to you." We easily make shallow apologies and hope that that is or has made amends. You cannot substitute for right. Do the right thing. "I learnt the hard way that you cannot substitute a detox for discipline." I tried it. I did a detox for 14 days. "Yall, it worked for only 14 days." If you are not careful, you will bounce back even harder. Substitutes give temporary reprieve without ever dealing with the problem. They give you temporary reprieve. But you have not dealt with the problem. Rest assured, you will have to deal with the problem at some point down the line. Another thought, "Gun of the courage to restart." Hebrews 11.26 says, "He had come to regard abuse, suffered on behalf of the Messiah as greater reaches than the treasures of Egypt, for he kept his eyes fixed on the reward." He sees talking about Moses. No church, Moses counted the cost and he chose the straight line and it got him the reward. He literally left a life of luxury and started a new life with slaves. He was committed to starting again despite the losses he would face and the cost it would take. "Yall, I should have just taken the hell. I just taken the loss, fast up to my boss and been willing to do it all over again, the right way. I completely ruined my reputation by trying to hold on to a crooked mask." When George said this during Tata's Devala and it hit me, he said, "Don't hold on to a mistake because you are too invested in it." "Way!" "Way!" I guilty as charged, right? Kufanaya is our mantra. You know, honestly, I have to win the argument even if I know my wife's point is more reasonable, it's more logical and it's a better, sicko buyer, however things are better. But by the way, I have to win the argument. I just have to stay. I just have to do it my way. And when I've seen the correct way and I don't use, please do not stay with a mistake because you are too invested in it. We have to change. Some of us need to be bold enough to let it cost us now so that it doesn't destroy us later. Admit the mistake and be willing to do things the right way. Man, I'm saying this for you. I'm saying this for the whole church. You'd rather lose your aura and stay away from those toxic friends. Like for real. It's worth taking that cost and keeping your salvation. It is worth it. Whatever it takes, you may need to introduce yourself and start over. Start over with your siblings. Start over with your spouse. Start over with your children. Start over with your friends. Same as for real. Hey, welcome to the new me. I'm going to do the most to leave right by God and right by you. But I finish by telling you this church. Be of good courage. Be of good courage. We've not been asked to work righteousness. Make this line straight by our own, on our own. We have all the help we will ever need to succeed and be victorious. Philippias chapter 3 verse 9 says, "And that I may be actually found and known as in him for having any self-achieved righteousness that can be called my own. Like I don't want that based on my obedience to the laws demands. I don't want that ritualistic uprightness. I don't want that and supposed right standing with God that's acquired." He's saying that is not what I want. But I want to possess that genuine righteousness which comes through faith in Christ, the unknowing one, the truly right standing with God which comes from God by saving faith. This is the righteousness that will find you fixed on the rock always provided for always. Dallas Willard puts it this way. He says, "We don't achieve righteousness. We receive it by walking with the one who is righteous until his ways become our habits." I don't know if you've listened to this. And you want to know what to do next. Like Lord, I have to have this life. All I want us to do is lift up our hands right now. Just ask the Lord for it. "Yall, I am in it as you are. Help me stay fixed on the rock. Help me live out a righteous life. Lord, help me live on this straight line. Lord, whatever I need to do, let me do it. For the whatever I need to change, however I need to align with you, Lord, please help me. Whatever I have been substituting, Lord, I pray that right now I will settle for the right thing and just choose the right way. Let me make the heart decision. But if I have to start again, Lord, I will start again. But God, find me. Help me to be that righteous person. Thank you Jesus. We honor your name because you've not let us do this on our own. You've given us a helper and you've said that Lord, we are righteous in you. So Lord, may your people find it the place of righteousness in every day of their lives.
