Starts of the Week + Week 8 Games, Bears Mean Business - Fantasy Football Podcast for 10/29
1h 6m 31s
The podcast features an in-depth analysis of fantasy football starts and injuries leading into Week 7. Matthew Golden is considered a strong option despite injury concerns, while the Bears’ trade for Jeffrey Simmons signals a major defensive upgrade. Several key players—Stefan Diggs, DJ Morris, and Jeremiah Love—are sidelined, creating lineup uncertainty. The hosts recommend starts like Kirk Cousins, Blake Corm, and Michael Wilson based on favorable matchups and weak defenses. The Buffalo Bills vs. Ravens game is highlighted as a must-play due to the Bills' offensive dominance and poor defense. Justin Jefferson’s recent decline in fantasy production makes him a risk. The coaching performance of Kevin O’Connell is criticized, with the Vikings' offense cited as one of the worst in the league. Omar Cooper is praised as a rising talent, especially in slow-paced games. The team also reflects on the unpredictability of fantasy football, noting how injuries, trade rumors, and player performance shifts can drastically alter strategy. Ultimately, the discussion emphasizes the balance between proven stats, matchup advantages, and risk in building effective fantasy lineups.
[MUSIC] >> Welcome to the Fantasy Footballers podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. [MUSIC] >> Welcome in. >> Hello, it's football time. [MUSIC] >> Hello, and welcome to the Fantasy Footballers. >> Thank you, sir, people are awake. >> It's Tucker Crafty today, Jason, I'm not sure if you heard. >> I saw a message in Slack that, you know, happy Tucker Crafty, I didn't know exactly why. >> Because Andy declared it. >> I did, I did, I do declare. >> Why did you declare it? >> Just because you guys call bonds fancy points. >> Okay. >> Today. >> Today. >> All right. >> Yeah, there's a game tonight, Jay. >> Yeah, it's football time. >> Did you hear me? >> I've heard of it. >> Hello. >> Hello. >> Yeah, I just declared it. Tucker Craft gonna dominate tonight. Matthew Golden is gonna play, apparently. But they're gonna take easy on him. >> That one's scary. >> Yeah, what do we, do you want to discuss that briefly? >> No, Mike, not before I hit this. >> Okay. [MUSIC] >> News and notes from around the league. [MUSIC] >> What I'd like to discuss briefly, Mike, is this Matthew Golden City. >> It was just, the breakdown was yesterday, and do you have any concerns starting Matthew Golden tonight? >> Of course. >> But people that have concerns for their stars when they play, they play them. >> Okay. >> I wasn't sure if Goldford had reached that level of he's just in the start your studs no matter what. >> I mean, I think we're in the midst of bi weeks for teams. I can't imagine you feel. I mean, have you seen the targets? I mean, Matthew Golden the last two weeks, 13 and 12. >> Yeah, but I've also seen the catch rate. >> Yeah, well, his targets are 40 yards down the field and double coverage, so it's not even necessarily his fault. Those targets are a little bit more hollow. I mean, it's great to have them. The unrealized areas will always look great with them. >> But I do think three of 17 tight window targets. >> So he's one of the top drop rates in the NFL, but it's part and parcel with, he has four games over 12 targets or 12 or more targets. >> Okay, so with his injury, the fact that they are hoping he plays, but he's obviously playing through injury can reactivate an injury, all of that. We're going to get into starts of the week here pretty soon. And Mike and I have starts of the week that I think are guys that aren't necessarily, you would not usually play above Matthew Golden. >> So we'll talk about it. >> And yeah, and we can discuss whether you would start those guys over Matthew Golden. >> We had a big trade yesterday. Big big trade. >> Or this morning, sorry, the Bears, Jeffrey Simmons, arguably the best defensive tackle in football. >> He better be for the cost. >> Two first round picks and a fourth round pick. >> The Bears mean business. >> NFC North team trading to get better, huh? >> Yes, yes, Mike. >> Mike is full of campaign. >> Because they like, they saw what they had. And they're like, our goal is to win a Super Bowl, and we're, we don't think we're quite there yet. So let's put the hype and irony to the, like, the anti-running back rhetoric all the time and then now it's like, go, go. >> Oh, I'd trade your future for a running back. >> I've said there are very few running backs that actually-- >> And this is one. >> Truly matter. And Jonathan Taylor definitely matters. >> I have to agree with you on that. But the, you know, the rumor sphere is going crazy every minute of every day. I think I saw, I mean, literally, I'm at the juncture where I don't know if anything I see on the internet will ever be true again. >> Yeah, it's the-- >> I am living in a nightmare lately. Because I've just been had a few times. Because that verification checkmark doesn't represent anything. >> Yeah. >> And really do anything. >> But the, like, there was like Ramandre, like, liking-- >> Oh, yeah. Jonathan Taylor posts. >> Yeah. >> With New England. And then, but then there's some more thoughts about, like, you know, he's not requested a trade which Josh Downs has. So we'll see what happens. You know what's funny is you just never, and I'm bringing it up because, Jonathan Taylor's wife has been posting on Instagram. And so you actually have some, like, transparency to the family side of things. But what I was going to say is, like, there are those situations where you just, like, a player may seemingly be a player that you think should request a trade. But then, like, you know, they might have kids going to school in Indianapolis or like a family. >> Yeah, apparently these guys are-- >> They're like humans. >> Yeah, they're like people. >> That's not-- >> And they might have friends. And their wife might be like, "I don't want to leave. Or I do want to leave." >> All right. >> Podcasts. Can we make trades? >> You're talking about Owl. I see what you're saying. >> I didn't want to-- >> Guys, whoa. >> Whoa. >> Don't lower his value. >> I would like to say that-- >> We can't let people know. >> We will never let Owl leave our show. >> Can't let people know. >> He's too valuable. >> He's unavailable. >> Come get him. >> [Laughing] >> I don't know. I think we should trade him for, like, three or four days. >> Yeah. >> He doesn't sound a hundred percent. I don't know if he'd pass a physical. Stefan Diggs did not practice on Wednesday. They expect him to return to practice. Are you worried about that? >> No. After-- >> At first, I was. Because I'm like, wait. What? I'll buy a week and wear. It sounds like this is going to be the plan for Stefan Diggs moving forward. He'll just be getting the first day of practice. He'll get it off his veteran. >> Yeah. They even set it beforehand. They said they're-- >> They're going to not play on Wednesday and be fine Thursday, so. >> Which, by the way, it's worth saying that is the case for both Almanra and Jamir Gibbs. They both-- >> And Jamar. They both didn't practice this thing. >> Well, it's funny because, like, the Gibbs, he had the weird ankle twist. >> Yeah, and then-- >> When he went down and then they reported him on the injury report as a shoulder, which I think was a nice way of saying, like, his ankles fine to us. >> I feel like it was a nice way of saying it totally wasn't the play that he-- >> By the way, the NMC North, 6-0, 5-2, 4-2, 4-3, Packers, basement dwellers at 4-3. >> This is-- >> Basement dwellers is how I'm referring to it for now. >> Getting Micah Parsons back at some point in the near future, probably a month away. >> They need to win tonight. >> I mean, I commend the Bears. That's a hefty price. >> Oh, yeah. >> But that's the kind of player I find it worthy of. >> Yes, this is not a sauce gardener. >> Or even a running back rental. I'm not talking to Taylor or CMC. But like, we've had the running back, like if Tony Pollard gets traded, that's like you get him for half a year, it doesn't matter. But a defensive tackle can be the face of your team for years. So I mean, what are you going to do? Are you going to find a Jeffrey Simmons in either the next two first round picks? >> Probably not because-- >> A potential Hall of Fame level, DT. >> Probably not. You assume that your pick is going to be a little bit lower. You know, you hope it's a very low first round pick. >> That's a good point. >> I'm not going to have one of those top five type of guys and that's usually where the Jeffrey Simmons are. I see both sides of it. I see the-- it's awesome. They're going for it. They think that they are close enough. But I also view this team as like, there's still a very young, very young team that I don't think they win a Super Bowl this year. >> Oh, well, I don't agree with that at all. >> That's fine. >> They had their playoff run last year where you get to like, you know, cut your teeth on the experience of the playoffs. I think this is your window. >> Yeah. I mean, that'd be great. Prove me wrong. >> I mean, you don't think the Vikings that team? >> But I guess-- no, the Vikings definitely don't know. There's only one way. John and the Taylor will not bring them a Super Bowl either. >> I know that, but they may not know that. >> At least with the Bears, I do think Caleb Williams can win a Super Bowl and hopefully will win a Super Bowl someday. But as such a young team to give up two firsts and a four, those still help build-- >> The window is when that rookie quarterback deal is still in place to me. >> Yeah, you have your offense. You have your offensive line. >> Which is great. >> You need to fix up the defense and you had to swipe the credit card, but you have improved it drastically. >> Jalen Noel injured reserve, Damien Pierce injured reserve. >> The Noel one that-- I don't like that one. >> Noel way. >> Nice. >> Nice. >> Just wish. I don't know. >> Jalen Waddle did not practice, undisclosed is the term of the week, by the way. The undisclosed for Damien Pierce led to IR. The undisclosed for Jalen Waddle, which is what it said yesterday. I know it's a chest injury, but the details of it are undisclosed. >> Wait. >> Why don't we disclose? >> Since when were we allowed to do that? >> I don't know. Huh? >> I-- Look, listen, Jason's going to miss a couple of days next week. Undisclosed. >> Yeah. >> Undisclosed. >> Not going to tell anybody. >> Josh E. Rice returned to a limited practice on Wednesday, the first time we've seen him. >> Jesus need that guy. >> And then Lamar Jackson, full participant, that's going to be a heck of a game. Baltimore. Buffalo. >> Yeah. >> Buffalo off the buy. Lamar off of his own injury induced buy. And then Carnell Tate, DMP with the shoulder. >> That's not good for a rookie. I mean, you know-- >> Oh, Josh is out there. >> Yeah, we have an undisclosed tomorrow. >> Josh's out today. >> Go to the dooser cave. Is he there? Josh? >> Josh. >> Josh. >> Oh, man. Anyone know where he is? >> See the problem. >> I have literally-- >> Someone of his-- >> I don't know where he is. >> Some of-- >> Oh. >> He's at home. >> Oh.
Oh my bad, someone his age when he's not here, right? You wonder if it was he's a the home. Oh, I think the final home. Yeah, yeah, um, Jeremiah love return to a limited practice on Wednesday. We think he'll be back out there. Tyler Warren limited. He had missed two games with the growing injury. Hopefully he's going to come back soon. We'll keep an eye on that. Anything else I'm missing on the news? I mean, the trade watch is on for the next two weeks. It certainly is. Yeah, the last couple of years there have been a lot of trades leading up the last like 10 days before the trade deadline and that's about where we are. I think we're 12 days away. I am now hyper aware of the fact that I do grip the microphones sometimes because there was a comment about the fact that I don't know that the microphone stand actually holds the microphone up for me. And then I'm looking on the camera and I'm like, this, I do, I feel like it's a little bit of a, it's like a man with your hands. Yeah, it's like, you know, what are we supposed to just do? The important thing I'm saying, important thing, important to me important. I don't know what to do with my hands. Watch this. Super important. Really? Oh, but don't watch it too close. All right. Here we go. Hey, starts of the week brought to you by Apple card. Yeah, two hands might not be the. All right. Starts of the week. Going into week seven. Jason. Yeah. Quarterback. I'm going T law. I'm taking Trevor Lawrence against Indianapolis. Indianapolis is crumbling. And Jacksonville coming off the buy huge favorites implied point total of 28. I'm all about it. T law this week. Yeah. I mean, they just traded their two best defenders or two of their three best defenders and they weren't good to start. Well, one of their linemen and their defender. Yeah. I'm going with a, I'm going with Kirk Cousins at the. Wow, Kirk Cousins, my starter league, Virgo chains against the Jets. He's to quarterback five on the season. He's leading the league in passing touchdown and he scored 20 plus fantasy points at five of six games. Oh, I am. I am. I'm afraid that this is the end for the Raiders this week. You got the Jets win. I've got the Jets win in the game and I'm worried this is the end of Kirk. So this is. I think they're going to go against that. I think Kirk will go through the buy week. I can't fathom them putting out Mendoza for the next three game stretch they have after the Jets. Wow. Wow. But, you know, this is the type of week if you've got Brock Purdy, if you've got Tyler Schrock on by the Jets last week, Malik Willis looked like an NFL quarterback. So, you know, I think Kirk Cousins will not be thwarted by the Jets. It's a strange week for trying to find your like, this is my start because it's like it, you know, there's the very obvious and then there's the guys where it's like Kyler has the matchup and you're like, hmm, I'm playing him in one week in one league and I'm like, that's how I am. I'm like, oh, no. So having said that, my start of the week because he could be the number one quarterback this week. I believe it's Dak Prescott. Why? Because he's playing the Arizona Cradinals 54 and a half point over under Dallas as the highest implied point total of the week at 30. That is ridiculous. Here's the stats on Arizona's defense. Dead last, dead last. They stink. I mean, we don't need analysis here, you're playing the Cardinals. You're in a dome. Get it done. Dead last, dead last, you stink. Dead last. And what? Defense. Those are the numbers. The numbers are you stink. Blake Corm is my start of the week at the running back position against the charges. If you look at the last three weeks, he is outscoring Kyron Williams in a point per game basis. My dreams are all coming true. This is when you think you can rely on him is when he pulls the rug. I mean, it's very possible. But the performance of Corm weekend and week out in terms of efficiency as a runner is look good. 14.8 points per game in the last three weeks, 14 for Kyron. You know, this is a, it could be an interesting adjustment. If it continues in this fashion, but no one in the NFL is a higher percentage of their attempts at five plus yards than Blake Corm. So and the team is what's interesting to me and one of the reasons I made it in the start of the week is that you left two weeks ago, Kyron whined and complained. Yeah. And then the team said Blake Corm get a bunch of work. It was kind of like, I don't care what you say. We're going to play the player. We think it's going to do the best for us. But that Kyron isn't valuable too. It's just we're just not going to listen to that. We're not going to give you more work. Um, it was so ironic because he was getting so much work. Kyron was like, he was like near 70% of snaps and he's complaining that he wasn't getting enough, which, you know, yeah, I mean, it's not like Kyron is not. Now this past week against Las Vegas, interestingly enough, was the lowest snap count for Kyron of the year. That was when he got benched. He started the game benched because of that comment and he did. He fumbled. Yeah. He fumbled in the game. So, yeah, there's some, uh, but the fact that they rather than give him the first drive and all the work, they benched him for a comment. Yeah. It says something about the situation. Still had a great fantasy game. Both guys play him both. Yep. Uh, my running back start of the week, I'm targeting that Indianapolis Colts team as well without their defenders, Bay shell, Tutan, farts up, baby. Two touchdowns before the by 18 opportunities at game right now, 32% of the team's total work, uh, which is rush temps and targets. Uh, he's had a streak of 15 straight carries gaining, uh, positive yard. He's just been really good in the defensive bat. It was a nice, uh, match made in heaven. I wanted to go with Mike's guy, but Mike Adam in first. We're going to speak it into existence, then perfect chase brown versus the Titans had this in before the tree. Things got a little bit better. This one feels scary. It's just, oh, before the trade of Simmons, yeah. Yeah, yeah. I was already all about it and then it got better, uh, it's, the bangles are fifth in points per drive and chase brown has one total touchdown on the year. That's weird. I think that that will have to, that will correct itself, that will regress. And maybe this is just to chase brown is because last year, weeks one through seven, it was terrible. Everyone completely bailed and then everything turned out fantastic for chase brown. So back two years, it was right around week eight, week nine, that chase brown finally turned it on again or for the first time, I should say. So perhaps that is just the path that we're going to have with chase brown, but the matchup is good. Consequential week, potentially further like future of the brown, the committee situation there. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, with him and Peter and I mean, I, again, I think we're at the point where Taylor's probably staying with the Colts, but the bangles are in play here. And if you come out against the Titans and you're running backs, can't get it done. Maybe they decide that they're going to be in on it too. All right, guys, I'm going to do it. I'm taking Georgie, okay, George, George Pickens against those cardinals, Mike already laid out the situation with the Cardinals, but it's a 54.5 over under because the Cardinals will score two. And I think I'm going to go with Pickens, say less Cardinals suck. Yeah. Dead last, dead last, they suck. I'm actually going to be in the same exact game as you, but I'm going to be on the other side of the ball on the Arizona Cradinals, yeah, Michael Wilson is a good start this week. He's getting the targets, but he was hurt. He's fine. Probably emotionally. Yeah, I mean, I, we're all hurt in Arizona. He's still, he's averaging the ninth most targets per game of any wide receiver, fourth most red zone targets among wide receivers. And Dallas's defense is nearly as bad as the Cardinals defense. The two offenses should score. This is a game that you would expect a ton of points in and no one can shut down Michael Wilson on this specific team. I don't think that the scheme or the players will be able to do that. So he, this is a player in Michael Wilson that I would play over Michael Matthew Golden. What if we said he was spotted in a non-contact? Like leopard? Like, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. That would be a disease. The, the, the man in the bushes with the binoculars. Yeah, I would say keep him safe. Well, he was wearing a non-contact on Wednesday. All right. Stefan Diggs, Mike, is that your start? It absolutely is. Thank you for telling everyone. I didn't mean to do that. I really didn't. I don't know that we don't know. That was like my natural transition was to reveal your stalker. So Stefan Diggs, huh? Like we're coming off of the buy-a-week. They got to figure some things out. Terremak Lauren. Because I didn't grab my microphone. Terremak Lauren is gone. Yes, I love Antonio Williams and him moving forward of what he could become. Let's Stefan Diggs. It's going to be solid. He'll be, he's been heavy running out of the slot and it just so happens that Eagles are allowing the highest percentage of targets to slot wide receivers. I guessed it. I guessed it, right? You did. Incredible. That was. That was all the players it could have been. That was pretty good. Terremak Lauren. Yeah. Yeah. All righty. Look, I mean, what a transition. Jason. Yeah, thank you. Because Chig plays for the same team that Diggs does. Yeah. And I like the matchup against Philadelphia this week. Seven for 69 for Chigakonco. In the game that Terremak Lauren was knocked out. McClure now on IR. Chig had missed some time. So we haven't actually got to see Jaden and Chigakonco together very often. Although when he started the season, he was involved. When he came back, he was involved. I think this is a fairly defense that is vulnerable in the middle of the field. [BLANK_AUDIO]
And Chica Conquo is one of the most athletic tight ins out there. He is. I think there's a great opportunity for him to kind of cement himself into the spot start. You know, we were there with Tyler Higby for a little while. We were there with Goddard at the beginning of the year. I think that's the category Chig could emerge into. They paid him in the offseason to come in here and be a weapon. I'm going Chica Conquo. Which you guessed correctly. Oh, man. That's crazy. I love Chig and I I think you should pick him up and and if he has a bad game this week I would not release him. Philly is pretty good against tight ins, but They need him and they will use him with Terry gone. I mean, we saw that in their previous game. My tight end is a plug and play option. You can go straight off the waivers T.J. Hawkinson in Detroit. He's only rostered in 54% of leagues only started in 35% of leagues last week. It's like Kyler's got the great match. It's like, oh, can you play him? You can you probably shouldn't, but it coincides with T.J. Hawkinson. Who in Kyler starts is getting about five receptions a game, sat a couple of touchdowns and this is the matchup of all matchups for tight ends Detroit is allowing 25.2 fantasy points per game to the tight end position so far and we are way too far into the year for a number like that to exist. Well, you wonder if there will be an arms race of sorts between this these NFC North teams like the the lions need some defensive help to Yeah, offensive help is what the Vikings need. That was starts the win. What is happening over here, man, what am I top liver? Yeah, you just I don't get to announce my guys. I don't even get to tell you who might tell you. You don't even get a tight end start. Let's wrap this up Andy. Good Lord. It's Hunter Henry. I have an undisclosed injury. It's Hunter Henry's playing Miami because I think Jason was the last one. I because we changed order all the time. Not on the back wall or anything. Miami ranks 30th and scheduled adjusted points to the position. So the matchup is absolutely there. And Hunter Henry over the last three weeks has been solid with Romeo dobs out. Hunter Henry had seven targets this past week against Chicago caught them all for 71. He's been double digits, three straight weeks. Hunter Henry is the tight intent. He's been fine right now. He's been he's been good. So if you do it again next week, it'd be like a triple H situation. Quadruple age. Yeah, it's already three weeks. You've done three weeks in a row of Hunter Henry. Oh, no, for the start. I thought. Yeah, that would be true. I'm saying he's been good for three straight weeks. I am personally with my league of record. I have Dalton concade coming back off of the by week. But I got Hunter Henry who's on fire. It's it is starting Hunter right now Henry's in my lineup. It's a very difficult situation. I mean, you I want pieces of that Baltimore Buffalo game, but Hunter Henry just feels so safe right now at the tight end position to to not destroy your work working. Cade, Cade could be a bajillion points or none. And most of his career has been on the none side. Correct. So I'm torn, but with that decision. And DJ more could be back this week, adding another piece to that pie any other shots of the week I'm forgetting. No, we allowed Mike to finish. Thank you. That was starts of the week brought to you by Apple card. Apply in the wallet up to day on your iPhone. And subject credit approval Apple card issue by Goldman Sachs Bank USA Salt Lake City branch terms and more at applecard.com. We'll take a break. And then I'll talk some more, but well this time. All right. Another week of football. Fantasy forecast presented by prize pigs. Yeah, we should update people a little bit more formally. I'm following it very closely because I have him on a couple of teams. But DJ more was in a noncontact Jersey. Oh, really. So the hope is that you see him out of that before the end of the week to have some optimism that he's going to play. We talked about the fact he's missed a couple games and then the by week. So you got three weeks there. AC joint sprain. That thing is sensitive to re injury. They're definitely going to take it easy on him. So that most of his contact is going to be on the weekend. If he plays. But it's something to monitor. If you're looking at Keon Coleman as a spot start. If you're looking at Khalil Shakir Dalton, Cade. One to monitor. Don't decade who himself was limited participant. That one. That one bothered me because of the by week. Yeah. He was. This is Dalton. Cade's life story right now. He's not one to stay unindered. Yeah. All right. Back from the buy bills, Chargers, commanders, Jags 49ers, Giants, Saints, and Texans heading to the buy. The Baltimore Ravens, four and three, the Buffalo bills, five and one. I didn't know where you're starting with this game. Yeah, can we just. No, that was not a mistake. I was. That was a post news update. Not a pre matchup update. I'm asking the. I did not know that that was my. We start the matchup. No. That was not the point. I didn't know this was. Just cut what he said and put it into this matchups. Save us some time. No, I see all this chat. My need to swap seeds. Shut up. I didn't know this. It's coincident. It's coincidence that we're starting with this game. If only we could have known. I didn't scroll far enough. Baltimore, four and three, Buffalo, five and one, Vegas line, Buffalo, minus three over under 54.5. We round up. Maybe. 55. Okay. I don't know this new bit. This game. So listen to over under 54.5. When they played last year and week one, it was 41 to 40. Alan had four total touchdowns. Buffalo ran 85 off fence of plays. Nice. This is great. I mean, the Buffalo situation this year when you look at Josh Allen and the potential to continue doing what he's doing. Look no further than them being best at everything on offense and worst at everything on defense. It's delightful. I mean, this is what the bangles cowboys of the last couple years have been and we didn't expect the bills defense to be this. Bad. And we probably didn't expect that bills offense to be this good. It is. It's golden right now. The Ravens will get Lamar Jackson back. He's a full participant at practice. Obviously, you're going to play Lamar Jackson in this game. Yeah. If he was coming back off the injury and had a tough matchup. Maybe I would consider looking elsewhere. But in this game, you absolutely have to plug him into your lineup. Zay flowers is an auto start. Lucky for you guys already talked about DJ Morris situation. If he's active, I'm playing DJ more. Yeah, I get it. Joy in my heart. Completely agree. Josh Allen James Cook our auto starts. So really, where are you guys with Kincaid? What would you? If you had Hunter Henry, would you be? I play Hunter Henry. I play Henry. I just don't. There's no confidence that I have that Kincaid is part of the every week game plan. It like you said, he could have a great game. But now you have a chest injury. And for consecutive weeks where fantasy finish wise, it wasn't good. He did get more targets in the last week, but I think more is coming back. He had gotten. If you remember, the before the by week, he got knocked out of the game with a with a hit to the ribs. So I imagine that's what is, but the by week wasn't enough for him to get out. He probably has like a cracked rib or something. The only real. I mean, I think Helio Shakira is the most guaranteed eight PPR points you could ever get. It happens is almost every week. He's been the widest year 27 and 23. He looks better without wow 9 9 11. That's the points for him the last three weeks. That's what you always get. But if DJ Moore's active, it goes down. I think if DJ Moore's active, I'm definitely playing more and I don't really want key on Coleman or Clil Shakira. One of those guys could get a touchdown, but it's, it's kind of random. I'm also not starting Jacoby Lane. I don't have any confidence in him yet. I think I have optimism. And I'm watching from the sideline with my binoculars saying like, let's see it, but I'm not going to play him in this game because I don't know the snaps. I don't know if you know, Bateman's still going to probably get more of a target share. We'll see. I think he's I think is desperate, but I'm open to it of the guys where you're like, Oh, goodness, by weeks, injuries have destroyed me. I need someone off the wire. Exactly. If you're playing someone off the waiver, like for instance, would you in this game? Would you rather play key on Coleman or Jacobi Lane? Assuming that read that DJ Moore is back is back and active. Hmm. So I mean, probably Coleman, but not by a lot. Yeah, it's that tier of of player. I certainly want him rostered in case there's a breakout. And I think that there is a, a world where you can throw him in your lineup, but certainly not a must start the Tennessee Titans at one and six, take on the Cincinnati Bengals who are four and two. Vegas line now Cincinnati minus 11 and a half. It was minus 10 before the Jeffrey Simmons trade. It's now 11 and a half. The over under 46 and a half as wild, a defensive player. Moving at a point and a half that fast. Yeah, this one feels like one of the more like popular potential survivor pool picks of the week. Which is always funny, because things happen, but yeah, this is only the second time in the Joe burrow arrow where the bangles have been 10 plus point favorites. Really what? Yeah, yeah, that blows my mind, and they lost the time.
I guess it's because the defense has been so bad. Yeah, they're, they're defense is good. No, it is, it is. They went from the last year, they were the 30th ranked defense and points per game right now. They're fourth. I mean, that's crazy. Number one in sacks in the NFL. What a turnaround that the Dallas Cowboys, which they could have achieved. Yes. So, I mean, you talk about the difference, a couple of moves make, like the Jeffrey Simmons trade. That's a perfect example. Like the, the bangles made a monster trade. And what the eighth pick was it? Yeah, for Dexter Lawrence. To for Dexter Lawrence. Well, that's the, I mean, the, the bangles did it. Like the, you had their player, they had Hendrix and like, they're a long-term edge rush superstar. And they decided, now we're, we're going to let you go somewhere else. And they improved. Yeah. I mean, all the, for all the negativity around bangles ownership historically, which is very fair. They're fair, but like if you, if you look at the nuts and bolts of what they've done, they didn't let chase go. They didn't let Higgins go. They didn't let burrow. I mean, they paid burrow. They paid the three bigs, right, offensive players. And then they trade and fix your defense with Dexter Lawrence. I mean, at least recently, I'm impressed. Start, sit decisions on this one. Mike, you already mentioned Chase Brown as your start of the week. His prize picks projections that 77 and a half rushing and receiving yards. So the combo, we're at 77 and a half. Okay. Not bad. But Chase Higgins, of course, Cam Ward has a superstar and Tony Pollard. I don't know if you knew that 30, 37 fantasy points against me last year. It does seem that way. I mean, but by the way, that was the most fantasy points of his career. Really? Yeah. I'll put that. I'll put that feather in the old anger cap. Well, I mean, those Dallas years, like we had spike Tony Pollard games. So I mean, ultimately, you're, you're not going to bench Tony Pollard. If he was part of your lineup last week, now he was only started in 40% of leagues. It's probably not going to be that good, but he's going to get all the work. So Tony Pollard, even on the weeks where he doesn't score three touchdowns. I mean, 20 opportunities, 21 opportunities, 20 opportunities last week, 28 game scripts not going to be favorable to him in this one. But I can't imagine a world where you're really making like Tony Pollard, Rashad White. I'm going Tony Pollard. Yeah. Tony Pollard is going to get started by a lot of people. That's going to be such a trap. But I don't know how you don't start him when he is pretty much alone and coming off of a 40 point week. The Bengals have been pretty good against running back. So I view him as a low end RB two. And you know, they're, they're probably given their trade of Jeffrey Simmons. The fact that the rumors were that Tony Pollard is more likely to be traded than Jonathan Taylor. Interesting. They're going to highlight Tony Pollard in this game and do everything they can to, uh, or. Or sit him or keep him safe to keep him healthy. The pay attention to Carnell Tate. He didn't practice on Wednesday with a shoulder injury and they have a by week next week. He's, he's probably fine. But this is, you do need to keep an eye on it because like even Tony Pollard, if you're saying Carnell Tate is off of this offense for the week against the Bengals, I'm, I, that could sway me to not even play Tony. I'd be concerned. You would, right, especially if Tate is out. Yes. And then Jeremiah love returning against Dallas Jeremiah love Arizona Dallas. Well, I'm what a transition. I'm a good host. Arizona Cardinals two and five gradinals Dallas Cowboys three and four. Dallas had a chance to, uh, at home against Arizona, go back to 500. And what would that put them like eight or nine games up in the east if they were 500. Is that how that works? I don't know. Have the highest implied point total of the week 30 point eight points for Dallas, delightful, delightful. Dallas minus seven over under 54 point five. We round up Jason. Oh, thank you. 55, uh, both teams heavily, uh, involved in the new defense. Doesn't matter movement, which they are founders. So Arizona and Dallas, they can't, we've been here for years, they can't play defense. You got starts of the week in DAC and George pick and CD lamb has been a monster, play him Juvanta monster, play him Dallas every week. I wish I had more to talk about. There aren't even starts at decisions to make, you know, between them and other players out there because they're all must start players. I even think, I mean, I, I'd go as far as to say, you know, if DJ Moore was out, Ryan Flanoi versus Keon Coleman games have the same over under. Yeah. Ryan Flanoi's been pretty good. Um, Jason brought up Michael Wilson, eight most targets in the NFL. The last three weeks, though, without, you know, the glorious Marvin Harrison running around hasn't looked, uh, as spry, uh, 55 yards last week, 32. No, please, no, I regretted it right away 30 and 32 yards. So the last three weeks, his 17 game pace would be about 600 yards receiving, not what you want to see, but a great matchup. Yeah. And, and it's, it's also the two of those three matchups were very difficult matchups. The Rams and, uh, the Broncos, very good defenses. So Dallas should be a nice self. Yeah. I hope he's, I hope he's healthy. I hope, I hope what we're seeing the last couple of weeks hasn't been a little bit of playing through injury. Jeremiah Love has missed two weeks in a row, only one game this year with 15 opportunities. I don't really know how to feel about the opportunities in this one. It's a great matchup. Jeremiah Love, does he get eight chances to run the football? Well, you have Tyler Algier missed practice on Wednesday. It's strange because I'm worried about just management with like, BAM night and stuff. Yeah. I'd still play love though. If he's active. Uh, yeah. I feel like Jeremiah Love is, uh, I must start this week if he's active against the cowboys. He, the videos of him in practice yesterday looked like he was, you know, moving just fine. So I mean, obviously we got to wait and see if for some reason he's a surprise and active then whatever, but I, I think Jeremiah Love is, is absolutely someone you have to start. All right. We are, uh, moving on six and oh, the Minnesota Vikings, I mean, look at the matchups this week. Detroit Lions, four and two Vegas line is Detroit minus three at home. Over under still 46 and a half, you got a Minnesota defense. It's been a pretty shut down, uh, you know, operation. Yeah. But you've also had, you know, this is it, this is probably the toughest situation they faced. Oh, for sure. It is because you didn't face Caleb in week two against Chicago, right? You didn't face Baker in week three against Tampa Bay week two was Caleb, but that was the crazy weather game where no one, no one could. Oh, you're right. You're right. It wasn't you heard at the end of that game. Yeah. It was news. So, yeah, nine to three weather. No, no Baker. Then Malik, then shock, then Daniel Jones. So I'm not saying Minnesota is not a great defense. I'm just saying that the Detroit Lions offense knows how to deal with the blitz a little bit better than Malik Willis. Yeah. That's fair. And the fact that Vegas has this game in Detroit's favor by three with a high over under with them at 25 makes me feel a little more encouraged about my offensive pieces on the lion's side of things, individual games often play out differently than kind of everything else anyway. So. Yeah. This is going to be fascinating to see because it is one of those like, you know, immovable objects versus unstoppable force where if the Viking shut the Lions down, we will, we will be like, okay, you just can't play people against against the Lions because or against Vikings because right now they've been number one in fewest fancy points given up to quarterbacks, running backs, tight ends, and fourth least to wide receivers. So this is a test, but I agree with you and with the win by the Lions, they're a game out of first. Yeah. I do agree with you that I am not scared off yet by the Vikings and I would start Jamison Williams. I would start Amonraw. I mean, obviously you're starting Amonraw. I would start Sam LaPorta. I have more faith in the Lions offense than I do in the in the Vikings. I do think the end result will probably not be all four of those guys giving you a great game. But, but deciding which one, I mean, that's usually true. Here's a wild, check this out. The bottom three teams in touchdown scored in the NFL in their records. Number 30 Miami, they're 30th in touchdown scored on offense. They're one and five. Number 32, the chargers, least touchdown scored in the NFL, they're oh and six. Number 31 in between the chargers and dolphins in touchdown scored on offense, undefeated, the Minnesota Vikings at six and a. That last in pace of play, I mean, if you want to make, if you want to make the argument for Jonathan Taylor, but is he enough to fix what they got going on? I don't know. I don't know. He can't. I mean, we talk about it. Man, they can use Jamie McCarthy. I should trade for him. That is Mike is all about this world where McCarthy goes and dominates for the giants and the Vikings. It's a difficult place to be, man. It's difficult, difficult place to live, but imagine, imagine a playoff game of the giants versus the Vikings. Oh, that'd be so, so wild. It's very possible. It's very possible. And McCarty beats them. Oh, that's what Mike's rooting for. I, that's what it's a difficult place to be. Can't root for Kyler. Oh, no. But you love the Vikings, but Jamie McCarthy beating them would be that, that sweet, sweet poetry. So looking at the individual players in this one, Kyler, you should be able to start
I mean, the lions are literally the worst. - Yeah, I don't know if that's the way things work. - In that you should be able to start Kyler ever? - Yeah, I don't, I mean, I think that the problem with that logic, and you can tell me if I'm wrong, is that the name Kyler Murray and in the matchup of the lions makes you feel like you can make the play. - Well, the name Kyler Murray doesn't help at all. - Well, it must because if this conversation was about another quarterback that was as bad as Kyler Murray's been this year, statistically, fantasy wise, numbers, everything. 30th and success rate, 30 second and touchdown rate, 28th and fantasy points for drawback. We would not be like, yeah, just go play him, in Detroit. We wouldn't do that. - Yeah, I mean, this is more a matter of with the lion's secondary being as bad as it is, and with Justin Jefferson, and with Jordan Addison, and with the points that the lions will actually be able to score on the Vikings, 'cause no one's been able to score on the Vikings yet. And so, there's six and no, and Kyler's not putting up fantasy points, 'cause they don't need to. They're gonna run the ball inefficiently as much as they can and eek out these wins. I do think that the lions, it's not Kyler. It's the weapons and the defense and the offense of the lions that I think-- - Kyler should have been, I'm gonna put up points against Indianapolis. You're just saying because Detroit scores. - Yes. - But I mean, 20 points is the implied point total for Minnesota. - Let me just put it this way. I'm less confident than you that Kyler's playable. I would try to play somebody else because I don't see a ceiling. Kyler's never hit 20 fantasy points this year. Is it 20? Is 20 the ceiling? 22? - 18.3 against the Saints is, honestly, that is QB 15 on the week, but 18 points from your quarterback is you'll take that. It's the last two weeks-- - If it was at home, I'd be in a different place. - The last two weeks, five for 39 on the ground, and 10 for 51. - What's his projection for that? - His prize picks projections at 24.5. - Rushing yarns? - Yeah, because the two weeks before that, it wasn't a ton, but are we-- - Well, let's shift it over to-- - I was gonna task off in the same matchup. The fifth ranked quarterback against Minnesota, but at home in a dome, so with the weapons that he has. - I have those guys back to back in my array. He's put so-- - I played off. - Kyler, when I'm saying, you know, because of the matchup, you might be able to play Kyler. This is not a, I mean, he's my quarterback 14 on the week. So, in a single quarterback league, you should have better options. And he is one spot behind golf. I've got golf ahead of Kyler. I would rather play the great player. - No, it's a great matchup, I just-- - I'd rather play a good player against bad defense that I'm a bad defense. - Do you go golf? - That I'm a bad defense. - Jefferson hasn't been a superstar. He's on pace for 78 for 1027 and 10. Which is good, not great, not special. Hawkinson's your start of the week, Jason. That connection's been there with Kyler. Jordan Mason. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Aaron Jones is-- - Yeah, he should be a volume play with touchdown upside. - We saw him, we already knew he was hurt coming into this weekend. - I think it was a sprained MCL. I hope I'm not misspeaking. But then he got hurt on Sunday, didn't practice Wednesday. Jordan Mason should-- - You like Mason, Jay? - He should get 15 plus carries. - I think Mason gets 15 plus carries, absolutely. I don't love him because the Lions are difficult to rush on and where they've given up more fantasy points as usually in the receiving game. That's not Mason's world, Mason needs touchdowns. I think he's a startable asset, but a lot of these other guys we've been talking about I would prefer over Jordan Mason, but circling back real quick to Justin Jefferson. We saw this, I mean, last year, Justin Jefferson was horrific for fantasy football. Played 17 games was horrific, was not yet. Since Kyler has been back, Justin Jefferson on points per game, is the wide receiver 44. I mean, he is behind Jacobi Myers, behind Jalen Neul, behind Mac Hollins. He is tied with Devon Veile. And the thing is, if we didn't see this last year, you'd be like, well, you know, whatever he's Justin Jefferson. Last year, he didn't average 10 fantasy points of game. Finished as the wide receiver 25. It's thankfully this matchup is hopefully one where you can go, okay, I can confidently. But like if he goes out and has a bad game this week, you've got to adjust and stop thinking of the name. - Here's one thing I know we have other matchups to get into. But I think it's worth a small discussion. I'm not sure Kevin O'Connell is an incredible offensive mind. I'm gonna say that out loud. - Okay. - I don't think Kevin O'Connell is necessarily the magician that we think he is. He lost four games as a rookie, head coach in Minnesota. And everybody was like, that was the year he had 38-year-old carcassants. That year they were, they won a bunch of games, which is what they're doing this year. But he was like 13th in EPA per play that year. He's never been above 16th in EPA per play since that moment in time. Here's the magic, the last handful of years, offensively. Like where does it drop at his feet? Brian Flores is winning all these games for them. And Kevin O'Connell has his hand selected trade target in Kyler. They don't bring back Darnal, they don't bring back Daniel Jones. I guess I'm just thinking like we still think it's gonna work out, but they're bad. Kevin O'Connell is one of the worst offenses in football. I think it's a very fair criticism at this point too, broach. It, where it is difficult. I don't know that he, like, how much of the Kyler, JJ McCarthy thing was O'Connell. How much of it was the GM, like, you know, the Darnal decision, who's, I don't know that we fully know who's decision it was. There's just no way that the McCarthy decision didn't lay at the feet of O'Connell. Because you bridge, you bridge two general managers in that time and you had to make here if you wanted McCarthy, you would have kept McCarthy. I think Justin Jefferson had a lot to say. I mean, that's all that's just me speculating. My point is is he hasn't taken whatever he has and made it good. You can't make that argument. Yeah, I mean, looking at his record as a head coach and just offensive points per game. Like you said, that first year when they had Cursons playing well, they were eighth in points per game. The next year 'cause it's got injured 20 seconds. The next year they had Sam Darnal, who played very, very well. They were ninth and then the last two years, 26th in points per game and 23rd. He needs, he just needs to be part of the conversation. That's not all of it. He needs a competent quarterback though. Like I think we've seen now enough of Sam Darnal. Yeah, he won a Super Bowl. Sam Darnal's not like special, special like he was that one year with the Minnesota Vikings. He's a competent quarterback that in the right situation can succeed and Minnesota is finding out. It's the mean, they really wanted Cursons out of town there and they're finding out that getting competent quarterback plays very difficult. Maybe we gave Kevin O'Connell all the credit for fixing Sam Darnal. When Sam Darnal was actually good. And it's possible. Yeah, you know, didn't give him the credit he deserved. Yeah, I just think that that conversation is going to broaden if they stay in the bottom five and offense and just sneak by. There's a reason they're not in the Super Bowl odds. Yeah, and it's because it's offense. So we'll take a break. Which is why they need John the Taylor at quarterback. No, they just, they have to do something. Feels that way, but it's not going to be more past catching weapons. No, you got it. I mean, what can they do other than John the Taylor? What can you do? That's, Tyler, you can fix quarterback. No, you, I mean, that would be the only way to win is you have to find a quarterback and people don't trade. And every week it's like, kind of just not quite up to speed with the offense. Which to me is the coach's job. Dude, get Carson Winston. The coach should coach them. All right, taking a break. More matchups. (upbeat music) It's funny because there are, there are a handful of situations at head coach where mid season quarterback changes or the right decision for the team's playoff run. Like the Alex Smith going to Colin Kaepernick for the 49er situation. I think we've had a couple other ones where, man, if Kyler started to fall in his face, what do you do, Carson wins? Yeah, I don't think there's anything they can do. I can say do Carson wins. Raiders are three and four. The Jets are two and five. Vegas line is New York minus two, minus 1.5. Overunders 45 and a half. We talked a little bit about this game and the Kurt Cousin started the week for Jason. Gentie, Gentie's gonna be in your lineup and you just, at the end of the day, just be happy with the quantity of fantasy points you have and not the way that you got it. Yeah, he's a, you drafted a very good receiver. It feels, the gentie situation is difficult for me. I want running backs that catch the ball. Like that, it's so much more valuable. Look at Ashton Gettys box scores and his fantasy points. But when it's the only thing. So he was 3.7 yards of carry last year. Do you know where he is this year? He's so like 3.3. 3.1. Oh, just raw, just rupting. It, yeah, just don't look at it. That's what I'm saying, but you play him because you're not gonna not play Ashton Genty. And he's getting so many targets. All right, you guys, Jason, if you love Kurt Cousins this week, and you love Trade Talkers this week who's been the
Yeah, trade Tucker's the wide receiver 13 fantasy finishes of two and 10 So he did the thing we said he couldn't do last week. Yeah put back to back good weeks together and more importantly It was in the targets you you listen to what Kirk cousins has been saying about trade Tucker about trying to get him The ball more because they want to utilize his speed which trade Tucker is a little speed demon You know he's got on the season. He's got a game with seven targets eight targets seven targets twelve targets That's totally enough Where when you're in a a decent matchup. I think you can throw him out there I mean if you're talking about Jacobi Lane versus trade Tucker. I'm gonna go in be a jam rules and he's heating up But I mean enjoy enjoy your trade Tucker starts the the Raiders wide receiver one. They're true wide receiver one He's coming back. He was designated to return That's one people to know Is the jack bass joke. Yeah, okay joke You're a joke Okay I deserved that play Brock Bowers, please Play Brock Bowers on the other side. We had these discussions yesterday in depth about breeze hall braille and Allen Both have been limited breeze with the quad missed some time braille and Allen limited with the ankle The beautiful thing Las Vegas is rush defense sucks. Yeah, the terrible thing The jets play slow and two running backs might not be A recipe for success when you don't have enough plays overall in a game To where you'd be happy with both of them our conclusion yesterday, which I don't know if it's changed was that you play breeze hall Jason and I were like not on the Allen side Mike. You were like maybe I was just I'm I'm more concerned that braille and Allen has closed it to be a much tighter timeshare Makes sense and then Omar Cooper you stay in the flames. So he is a very very interesting prospect. Yeah He was awesome I went back and watch the film and he was not you know sometimes you get a broken play in coverage and You know or or you just happen to be the one targeted in the end zone and you end up with a good fantasy day going back and watching every single one of his Routes he looks special We always knew he was great with the ball in his hands the question was is he a well-rounded wide receiver? Can he work in the middle of the field because what we saw as last year in college was a lot of screen game and a lot of deep shots And it's like is he a well-rounded wide receiver you've got to be able to work the middle of the field in the NFL and so far in his two games He's looked great. I mean his first game he had a really nice play gets injured misses several weeks Comes back dominates and dominates. So do you stay in the flames against the Against the Raiders. I think you can the Garrett Wilson Omar Cooper Slow pace of play is going to people are mad about Garrett Wilson. It's going to become frustrating man. Jets do us a favor and Trade Garrett Wilson to the chiefs and unleash Omar Cooper Jr. You just don't have enough volume for both these guys Yeah, I do think you can play Omar Cooper. Yeah Garrett Wilson's just he's just A dude worn down by losing If you watch the conversation and it's been that way for a while You know he want he says I've tried to be optimistic every week for a lot of time Here in New York, but you know he wants to be in New York. He wants to win but he wants to win even more Yeah, I mean that's the the facts. So those two guys. I mean I can't imagine people benching Garrett Wilson But it's amazing what the decisions are on the Jets this week because the matchup's great I think the Jets actually are going to handle their business in this one. Okay. If I had to Gas, you know, I'm saying they win by probably a touchdown. You got you got a team traveling a long distance from Vegas to New York or New Jersey What's that question you're struggling with? Oh Uh, my voice is almost yeah, why are you talking? I struggling with that he's on discord Wilson vs Quinchon Judkins this week in my flex Yeah, I that makes sense. I get it. Judkins had a nice week Garrett Wilson is normally the more consistent player there Uh against Pittsburgh. That's the Judkins Junkins match up. I guess I go Garrett. I would go Garrett Speaking of that game Cleveland five and two Pittsburgh five and two who would have thought those are the records of those teams Vegas line is Pittsburgh minus three and a half over under 39 and a half I'll be honest. I'm becoming I'm becoming an air Rogers fan right now Oh, I love what I see every week. I'm enjoying watching the team play I'm not saying it's the old air Rogers I'm saying he's doing enough to get the job done on a weekly basis They're rumored to be in the market for another wide receiver to add to the Mechav Jermy Bernard equation. They can't add enough. Yeah, the trade for DK Mechav no trade for Michael Pippin. Oh draft Jermy Jermy Bernard. No, we need more Pittsburgh minus three and a half super low over under that makes sense to me Cleveland 127 24 in week four That's a game where Rogers through for 299 and three Last week, I you know, I thought the Cleveland defense was sort of in embarrassment last week You know they They won the game But Tennessee was able to move the football on the regular It's kind of weird. I expected the Cleveland defense to be a great fantasy start last week. It wasn't Juddkins performed well They got it done at the end, but Man, I I find myself struggling with tons of starts In this matchup other than Janelle Warren who feels like the automatic play But Jermy had a down game after his breakout game DK Mechav Who sits at the ninth most targets among wide receivers? Amazing You know, I guess you play him every week. No, man Yeah, but do you do it you do it with Disgusting your heart I mean what who where your starts in this game? Are you going back to the well with Juddkins after the big week feels like you should DK Mechav is on on pace for over 140 targets and Not a thousand yards. I've watched probably every one of them Jenkins or or Jordan Mason. I would go junkens. I would play Mason. I think I lean Mason junkens or quorum Um I always have a hard time when it's committee back situation, but I'll go with my start of the week quorum and I think that's probably the biggest problem we have in these games is like Mechav and Bernard have had Like they both had a good week or a bad week conception on embossed and they both had their good weeks and bad weeks One of the questions on the on the show right now Jermy or Any of the Cleveland Whiteouts That's one of the biggest start to say questions. Would you play Jermy Bernard or Boston? Where would you go with that J? I think that between Jermy Bernard and Boston. I would go with Boston hold J Hold on. Yeah I have another Lamar Jackson video. Oh, oh no, are you? What are you doing? I miss what you said? Yeah, what I was saying was running down the hill It's the quick steps in the Boston and this is a good job. This is a good job better Most of the year. I like what I'm saying. I'm gonna stay with Boston Okay, what's next? Such a stupid bit Imagine imagine this is the first time you've ever listened to this show and you're just like What is happening the people? Talking the people have demanded it. I don't know if that's true. It's my Maybe my least favorite bit of all time that no the second that I love oh no Mike's least favorite was Darnell Anderson Yeah, uh, Jeremy Bernard or Boston Concepcion Uh, if I get Boston Concepcion together Man take that dude you done Now how do you? I play Jeremy over they I played Jeremy. I think there's a Jeremy game to me. I'm still I mean Metcalf Metcalf's gonna get It's gonna get the award the award treatment. I think Bernard is it's a great bounce back this week It's just the the ten targets for Concepcion was that the was that his moment where Dishon Wilson went oh That guy's very we've asked that three times we've asked it about fan and we've asked it about Boston Yeah, it's just yeah, and even last week when you had ten targets to Concepcion you had eight to Boston It wasn't like oh, we're just going that direction The the thing that if you want to lean on the Jeremy Bernard side It's really a match-up issue because you've got the I think the Steelers are a much Better defense right now than the Browns are and so if one of these teams was going to have a lot of success in the passing him I would presume it would be the Steelers over The Browns, but I like the talent of Boston the most of what I've seen on the NFL field between those three rookies You know, I would probably write about on the practice field. What have you seen there? I? Collegiate feel if you've seen him on the clean field on the practice field. I just listen to Mike commentator. Yes Well, have you seen him on the lacrosse field? No, no, have you would assume you know, I haven't either. I just figured no, we should break it down Harold Fanon a little bit better last week And I hate this game. I hate this game because it's a low over under and there's a bunch of players that I'm not sure I believe in but Fanon back to nine targets was okay Would you play Rico Dowdell who had 15 opportunities last week or would you play Rashad white oh disgusting Probably Rashad white Okay, the Cleveland where
Somebody let me talk about this game. - No, I don't, I'm struggling, man. I'm trying to find ways to talk about this. - I'm trying to, 'cause the 39 and a half, that's your overrunner. There's not a lot of scoring opportunities that will happen in this game. It's AFC North, it's nasty. Man, that's, it feels like a very math situation. - All right, let's cover one more matchup today. The Falcons at three and four, Tampa Bay at two and five. Vegas line Tampa minus two and a half over under 44 and a half will find out if the Tampa resurgence is real. I think it is. I think the defensive resurgence, the running game, the offense is starting to figure some things out. - The defense has just been awesome. It really has. - Yeah, I was at Zach Robinson, right? Is the offensive coordinator there now? And I feel like some things are starting to work. You're gonna get a mecca, a bokeh back. He is shedding his non-contact Jersey today. That's big news because while I like Tampa in the game, I don't like Baker. I think we're waiting on Baker's thumb to show us on the field that he's back to normal versus-- - Yeah, I said this on Sunday live this last week was that I have to wait until we see Baker play good before you can play him. I'm like Superman. - Yeah, I'm glad that you, I'm glad that happened 'cause he went out there and scored 6.7 fantasy points in a dominating victory. We see Baker play through injury all the time, poorly. And so I want to wait until he's out there. - You saw that last week. You said we see him play poorly through injury and he did that. - Yeah, and they dominated. The defense was great, Bucky was awesome. - Play Bucky. - Yeah, for sure, play Bucky. - Play a bokeh if you're gonna play a wide receiver. Don't play Godwin unless you're in a league where you need 4.7 to 5.1 points. - If you get-- - Man, are you playing-- - Extra bokeh? - No, I'm not playing a bokeh. - Oh, I will. - Yeah, yeah, I mean he's gonna get. You're saying because you don't think Baker will throw it enough. - Okay, I mean, a bokeh-- - Yeah, I mean, we can have that discussion. A bokeh or Denzel Boston? I'll play a bokeh. - Yeah, if I'm going that, man. - That's right, Tucker. - That's about the tier. I think I would go trade Tucker. - Tucker, trade Tucker. - Keenan Allen. - I think I'd take the safety of the targets from Keenan. - See, I think they're safety in a bokeh's targets. You don't think, I mean, Elaine is probably gonna, it's a tight, it's a tight line. Okay, you guys seem like you want a week off from a bokeh and Baker experience. - We had two touchdowns in a row from a bokeh, which was fantastic. Those were in Bakerless games. - So you want to wait a week? - Back before that, I mean, we had a stretch run where basically he was under eight and a half fantasy points for a dozen weeks in a row. And now we've got an injured Baker back. - Yeah, that's where I am. We just, we really haven't seen it since the first month of his career. So. - So your guys are kind of out there. - I'm cool with the wait and see on a bokeh. Play A, B, John, and London, Kyle Pitts, 18% target share of the last three weeks. - It's great and it's a good matchup for him while we talk up the Buccaneers defense being very, very good, which they have been. They've been top 10 against quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers. If you adjust for the schedule, they're basically top five against those positions. They're beatable at the tight end spot. That's their, you know, soft part of their defense. And so. - They're underbelly. - That's their underbelly. That's the, oh man. - The underbelly of their defense. - The king hippo. - Oh, it's, you punch out. - Mike Tyson's punch out. You got to get, you got to get that sweet soft underbelly. - Bro, that's a reference. - Yeah, I know you were going to go with a dragon. - Pits are Henry. - You win with king hippo. - Pits. - Fan interpits. - Pits. - Chica Concord, Pits. - Pits. - All right, it's a Pits week. - Carnell Tate will not. - What could go wrong. - Update here. Carnell Tate will not practice again. - Uh oh. - With their biweek next week, that becomes very scary. I think if you're not playing it all on Thursday, and you can give your, you know, top five NFL draft pick, two weeks to recover, you just traded, you know, your best defensive player, you're a future team. Man, I would not throw him out there. - And he got a pile of work last week. Buck Irving is not practicing today, but they've already come out and said it is a rest day, which, they've been doing, they've been doing this all year long with Bucky. They are protecting him in multiple ways. - Is he a rest day? - Multiple ways that are strange. - Did I saw a video on Twitter? - He's been great. - On Twitter was the Chicago Bears practice, and it was like yesterday's practice. And watching these guys, watching DeAndre Swift, barely be able to move. And like, you know, I mean. - Oh yeah, yeah, yeah. - It's like crazy. You just see him on Sunday. They've had a week to rest or whatever. But these guys are broken for a couple of days. And, you know, they need their rest days. It's hard to remember their human beings. - That was Fantasy Forecast, presented by PrizePix. PrizePix packs are here by Real Basketball Football and Pokemon cards with Paxas Lowe's $1. Matchups, Wheel of Shame. - Oh no, who's the Wheel of Shame tomorrow? - It's me. - And, oh yeah, it's Halloween. Tomorrow, it's Friday, Halloween's on Saturday. Tomorrow's the Halloween show. - Yeah, well, you're gonna shame me. Well, I'm already shamed. - Yeah, two costumes for you tomorrow. - I didn't really think about that. - It'll be all right. - It seems like it'll work. - Yeah, it'll work. - Yeah, yeah. - All right, man, you should stop talking. (laughing) - No, no, no. - Let Matt do it. - You should be off play. - So much better. - All right, that'll do it for today's episode of the show. FAQs
Matthew Golden has had consistent target volume (13 and 12 in the last two weeks), but his catch rate and targets are often from deep, double-covered routes. With injuries and a high risk of re-injury, he's a risky start. Consider starting more reliable options with better matchup and stability.
Stefan Diggs missed practice but is expected to return. The Eagles are allowing the highest percentage of targets to slot receivers, making Diggs a strong matchup. His recent performance and slot-heavy target volume support a start, especially in a favorable defensive environment.
Chase Brown has a strong start of the week due to a favorable matchup and his recent performance. However, his stats show regression potential, especially after a breakout in previous weeks. It's a risky start, but the matchup could support a high-scoring game.
Blake Corm is a strong start due to his high efficiency, 14.8 points per game over the last three weeks, and a significant increase in targets. His performance against the Chargers, combined with a team that has benched Kyron Williams, makes him a reliable pick.
Hunter Henry has been in consistent form with seven targets in the last three weeks and has caught all of them. His recent performance against Chicago, including a 71-yard game, shows reliability and makes him a solid tight end option this week.
DJ Moore was in a non-contact game and has a history of injury. While he may be active, the risk of re-injury is high. Monitor his status closely, and if he plays, he should be considered a low-to-moderate risk pick due to his injury history.
