Starts of the Week + Week 7 Games, Lamar Watch! - Fantasy Football Podcast for 10/22
54m 34s
The podcast delivers a detailed fantasy football forecast focused on key injury updates, matchups, and player performance. Lamar Jackson’s return from injury is highlighted with a light jog at practice, though his impact remains uncertain. Multiple teams show roster shifts, including Jordan Mason and Baker Mayfield returning, while others like Kyle Monningham remain sidelined. The forecast identifies strong matchups—such as Jalen Warren against the Saints and Aaron Jones versus the Colts—where defensive weaknesses offer high fantasy value. Safe starts are recommended for Jeremy Bernard, George Pickens, and Tyler Higby, while players like Bonaix are deemed risky due to offensive struggles. The Houston vs. Giants game, with a wide point spread, suggests a potential blowout, benefiting pass-catching and running back assets. The episode also stresses the importance of tracking practice appearances and film to evaluate player potential, especially in cases of injury or reduced workload, such as Chase Brown facing decreased carries. Ultimately, the hosts emphasize proactive monitoring of injury news, team defensive trends, and matchup dynamics to optimize fantasy team construction. A special segment on the Patriots vs. Bears game is teased, with additional content like the "Wheel of Shame" and viewer visuals planned for future episodes.
[Musique] Welcome to the Fantasy Footballer's Podcast with your host, Andy Holloway, Jason Moore, and Mike Wright. [Musique] Oh! Welcome in! Say it loud to your foots. Oh! Oh! Okay! I don't know if I said it right. I just Google it right now. Oh! Paris! Paris! That was for you, you stinky Frenchman. That's pretty good. Oh, man. Is this the first game we've ever had in France? First and hopefully last. Do we get the early early game again? Is that how that works? It's forever. Dude, it's gonna be every week As soon as the next agreement is signed, there will be 16. Say it again. Say it again. What is that? I close them. Oh, okay, never mind. Say man, say love me. Make a little football. Beniai football. I'm sorry, friends. Man, that was just amazing. It's not my it's not my forte. Have you been to France? I have. Oh, that was nice. Was it as stinky as you insolated? This is why I don't like it. I did. I did a hawk a luge off the Eiffel Tower. Oh That's fine as you must as you might when you're in high places, you got a spit really this person somebody Probably can they walk right up to it on the what's the terminal velocity of a luge? Hi, it's nothing nothing just a bad day for some couple some guy proposing Oh my goodness. Thursday, October 22nd. Welcome into the show I think it'll be more of a punch drunk show today anyways because we we got where the three of us live It sounded like several nuclear warheads were going off over our head. We had a tornado hit Arizona yesterday That's not normal. No, no cars were annihilated by all by hail by baseball or golf balls side to his size tail Yeah, we this one video of someone in their car. Yeah, it was just their windshield was like it was like someone was smashing in with a baseball bat And they're like how long is this windshield going to hold up? Yeah, it was a it was a pretty crazy day and a really good one for the like Glass repair guys. Oh, yeah, like they'll be driving in from all over they will be coming into town But we had yeah, we had big storms and I was up all night because of that and Here we are. We're talking football. We got started to the week on today's shelf fantasy forecast to talk about News to talk about and tomorrow is show 2000. Oh, so I know that producers have a few Tricks up their sleeve for show 2000. I don't you were saying this like show 1,000 doesn't feel like it was that long ago To me it was like a thousand feels a thousand possible to me Is this a new alert more severe thunderstorms? Is that for today? No, that was yesterday I just I found it very comical. Yeah, an actual an apple alert For Arizona for destructive baseball size hail baseball sizes. I saw somebody describe it. They decide they went with cue ball size That was what it said in the news report cue ball size tails right in between golf ball and baseball I mean a cue ball is pretty close to a baseball. Yeah, a little smaller a smaller. I guess you're right They didn't want to be inaccurate. Oh because I'm measuring when it's coming down like that and taking out my Grab one Mandarin orange size. Oh man. That's pretty crazy. It's more of a clemen time They're really oversold this Let's let's jump right into the news News and notes from around the league The Bears ruled out Kyle Monunguy who's gonna miss a third straight game with the thumb slash toe I think that was expected the timeline And that's today the game today. Yep. Yep. So I expect them back next week Jonah Coleman Designated a return from injured reserve and he he had a little hype tweet. He put out there so he's excited to get back Jeremiah loved to not practice and see a bit CBS is reporting love not expected to play based on last week I mean, this is probably delusional because it's dimber but if you needed like we found out sake ones coming back That's another piece of news sake one is likely to play expected. Yeah, Damien Pierce would be the complement, right? Yes Not great at anymore right to play Damien Pierce last week You throwing out some bam night. I'm just gonna say his name because Algier was awful Bamnight led the team and carries or in you know yards. He actually was 5.5 a carry and I think you got like 14 or 16 opportunities. Yeah, he looks good. It's just like a break-class emergency play which some leagues I don't know some you do need it some leagues. You're gonna need it Like I said sake one Barclay the latest on that he is expected to return to practice That's a Monday night game though, so it is Monday. It's it all they they cut Was a Carson steel and Jayden blue and then they added Elijah Mitchell to the practice squad So as of Elijah missile. Yeah, he's back from the past but more meaning They dumped two guys and they only brought one back so like on the team right now is is Barclay Pearson and Mitchell so It the the signs are that sake one will play Lamar Jackson was limited on a Wednesday but Multiple beat reporter suggesting he was walking with him. Yeah, if you saw the video of him coming off the practice field first of all He's not in you know, he's not suited up And then while coming off the field. He was walking with a noticeable limp. So I oh and the line has moved from Baltimore -3 to Cincinnati -1 and a half and the total is dropped from 51.5 to 48.5. Yeah, he's he's not gonna be playing this week. Oh, man It'll be a little bit to get him back when he's back. He'll be great, but you're gonna have to wait Yeah, that's that's a little bit concerning Because you just traded. I did just trade him Lamar. What's the latest on Jacobs? He's gonna have to wait on Jacobs too. No No, Jacobs will be back this week whether or not he goes into a full workhorse role is yet to be determined We don't know his conditioning and all of that, but we do know he has absolutely zero competition for anyone that should ever touch the ball behind him Okay, Jordan Mason full participant and practice That's great. And there's some reports that he's gonna get every opportunity to be the lead dog Quinchon Judkins and Dylan Samson both limited on Wednesday I don't think you're gonna be starting any Audric Estimate Julien McLaughlin's this week How about Baker Mayfield full participant on Wednesday, and I think he's already back out there today He is I watched some video of him throwing today. He looks he you know, I test wise I'd be surprised if he doesn't play this week if he's actually practicing and he was throwing on the move running and Whether he's as good, you know, he I don't know if he's got fingers taped up. I think he's got a special glove on He's got his Michael Jackson glove. He's a tough guy. He will always play through injury again sometimes to the detriment of himself or teams or Naths, but it's still probably better for the buccaneers to have Baker out there. I expect her was a two glove guy There's hurt when we're periods. Yeah, yeah I became a two glove golfer halfway through saw halfway through that event when the blister started forming Tyler Warren did not practice on Wednesday growing index.com if you need more details You need some some. I'm gonna check that out. What did what's the way he's not on there? Yeah, check his quote. Oh, he went Yeah, that's a little different Into the starts of the week we go What a show we have here starts of the week All right, we have our starts of the week in every position for you heading into the upcoming week of football Big matchups Starting at the quarterback position. Why don't we let Mike kick it off with a guy I am all right to wait it with right now Yep, it was Jason's stream of the week from streamer to starter. It's CJ Stroud Texans are ten point home favorites against the Giants Look Stroud with Nico is averaging 300 passing yards per game and the matchup chef's kiss 29th in schedule just to points to the position. Do you find yourself just kind of Chuckling a little bit at the juxtaposition of where we were with CJ still a year ago. I mean yes, they chose not to extend him And to wait yeah, and then they went out and got him another wide receiver And he will be getting them. I mean, do we were debating it he'll be getting the monies. Yes, all the monies He will he will be getting paid it is very funny of the like okay, we're not gonna extend him. How should we set up this year? What if we have a bad defense and we can't run the ball Yes, so he's just gonna compile so let's let's trade for multiple wide receivers. I'm in on it. I mean they did the railing on that because I think that is the strategy To the prove it. Yeah, you're going to spend a hundreds of millions 300 million dollars. That's fair Why not you just put everything on his shoulder and if he proves it then you're like he's money well spent. Yeah All right, I'm going Jeremiah. I'm not Jeremiah. Jordan love. Jeremiah love can't play quarterback or play running back right now The process loves Jordan loves so much Jordan love against Detroit. He's the QB8 on the season. He looks great He's willing to chuck it Detroit's defense sucks. They were on pace to score a million points It's a 53 and a half point over under spicy. I mean, there's not a better match up this week No, and the other side of the ball is my start of the week. We want in on this line
players, Packers game Jared Goff at home coming off of a buy. He's on pace for 5,041 through the air at home or the last four years. He's averaging over 20 fantasy points of game. You just got to stay in the flames. This matchup is, you know, the Packers are top five defense against quarterbacks. And so you might go, I don't know. Yeah. This is a 53 and a half point over under at home, start Jared Goff. And I'm going with Jalen Warren of the Pittsburgh Steelers versus New Orleans. It is in Perry. I am. I still believe in it that the fantasy game wasn't there. Like the fantasy points where they didn't happen. But Jalen Warren in terms of peripherals was still the guy 18 opportunities, 75% of the snaps, the only carry inside the five last week. And the Saints rush defense dead last in almost everything to the running back position. Rush, rush success rate, rushing touchdowns allowed schedule justice points. There's a it's a delightful matchup. I'm not a like maybe one more game back with Rico. He gets more work. But I think for now until Jalen Warren falls on his face, he will be that leader of the time. I like this. And I like the confidence play after after the down game with Rico back, because if you look at this, you know, the carries. Yeah, he had like one fewer carry than the week before when he don't. Right. Matt, this is kind of a home game for the Saints. Is this like a, yeah, French Cajun type of a thing? Yeah. Is that why we sent the Saints? Yeah. Yeah. No, that was that was to the audience, not to you anymore. Yeah. Please stop talking. He kind of was stopping. It got lower and lower in volume every time. Yeah. Anybody got some camels? Or some race. Why are we going to his wedding next early next year? Yeah, you guys are. And don't we have to, I mean, don't we have to, like, he's going to have to talk out loud. I do. It'll be, it'll be, it'll be practice. You guys better let me know how it goes. Everyone's going to be like, just, you can just hear them and they're going to hand him a microphone or he's going to wear one of those little microphones on his way. It's going to be so sweaty. I'm going to do the tap on the butt for Aaron Jones this week. Aaron Jones. Okay. If you, if you, if you look at it, he's been the RB 16 on the air. He's got two top 10 finishes. He's never been outside the top 24. And the matchup against Indianapolis is outstanding. 29th in schedule adjusted versus running backs. Just because Jordan Mason may be back in this game does not mean that Jones is not a startable asset. You're going to see the snaps. Yeah, it's not going to be 87% anymore. But you're coming off a buy. They're going to, it's going to be a committee. I think Aaron Jones is startable. And those that are doubting it because I think you're right. You know, Mason is, it's, let's be honest. Mason is not, it's not Saquon coming back to the rotation. Correct. It's not Jonathan Taylor coming back to the rotation. This is a guy that was still a projection going into the years being the dude for this team. I think Aaron Jones is a great start to. No, no matter what Aaron Jones is still going to be the pass catcher. Jordan Mason. I expect Jordan Mason to go right in and be the kind of starter. Maybe even I expected to touch the ball more on the ground than Aaron Jones. But Aaron Jones is not going away. I think both are fine plays this week. My start of the week at running back is Bucky Irving off of a 5.9 fantasy points game. He mistracted hard, man. He did. Well, I mean, look, he had 22 opportunities. A season high 85% of the snaps. They were giving him the work. The problem is they're offense, you know, with the undrafted rookie quarterback. It's, it's hard to make that work. Baker's going to be back this week. They're giving him the work and the panthers rush defense is one that we want to attack dead last in yards per carry to allow 25th and rush success rate. And year after year after year, this is an ongoing poor rush defense for the past. I'm just excited for the passing game work to come back to Bucky. That's what I've been waiting on. Like, if you put that and mix it in with him getting, you know, he carried the team two weeks to go to a victory. But like you see, Jalen Daniels, it's like a quick look up. And then he takes off. Baker's going to drop it down. Maybe even more with the injury. I love that start because I have my team gone. My up. You are a receiver where, uh, look, hygiene's out the window. No more washing the hands. We got the germs, baby. Oh, Jeremy Bernard. I don't know why both of my guys ended up here in the Paris game. But that's where we are. He's in for number one priority off of the waiver wire into your starting line up over the last two weeks targeted on team leading 29% of hit of Aaron Rogers targets. He's heating up for the rules of NBA jam and the matchup is there. So I think that Jeremy Bernard feels like a very, very safe wide receiver to all right. I'm going to, um, you know, I'm trying to confidence, maybe a word associated with my starts. I'm going George Pickens. Take the George Pickens versus Philly. That's the Monday night game sequence coming back to, um, he did lead the team and receiving yards last week, even though the fantasy performance was better for both lamb and Ryan Flanoi. 11 targets. No touchdowns. We're still doing the dance with Pickens where the touchdowns need to arrive. And, uh, I think you've been able to throw on Philly. 28th and receptions allowed. 28th and schedule adjusted fantasy points allowed. You think Javonte is the kind of back that's going to get through Jalen Carter and company. I do not. And you saw the, their ability to relinquish the ground game when things got tough for them last week. Tanner McKee is not special, but getting safe. Juan back and getting to play Dallas. Like you're probably going to have some productive, you know, drives for this team. I think they're going to, you know, Dallas has not looked the part quite yet. And I think Pickens is going to get it going. Yeah. Um, I, I think Jalen Warren is a good start this week. Um, yeah, he should be, I, he should be a good start. We talked all, look, bonix has sucked beyond bad. And it's not just the matchups. It's the film. It's not a good start to the story. He has, he has been bad. But there is a lot we have made over the first six weeks of their season. They had one of the toughest schedules. One of the toughest matchups. I believe the toughest for the passing game. And we, and we've seen it. The, the, you know, they, they've stayed in games. They've won games, but their offense has been abysmal. They're playing the Arizona Cardinals 31st and explosive pass rate allowed downfield passing their dead last and yards per pass attempt. Their 24th and schedule adjusted points given up to wider sheers. I know the Cardinals looked good against the Rams last week. I think that that was just a LaFour coming from the Rams knowing the system and having a good scheme for that game. Jalen Waddle has only had one top 24 performance this week. I guarantee he's a top 24 wide receiver this week against Cardinals. I, I have had a, I mean, as somebody who needs a start this week at quarterback, I had Bonaix on my team. And I thought through this game over and over again, I would be with you fully if this game was in Denver. I am not, I am not sure what's going to happen. And I, look, I dropped Bonaix to play Geno Smith. And I'm looking this morning. My opponent who also needs a quarterback just picked up Bonaix to play against me. Oh, how fun. So now I can be my own demise. Or I am more on the side that Arizona's game was not exclusively due to that. So I Waddle's terrifying in the, I thought about trading for him because he's probably as cheap as he's ever going to be. And I just couldn't get myself there. So I can't wait to see if your guarantee is right or the Cardinals slow him down. And the listener league Andy, I had to make a decision off of the way for wire this morning between Bonaix and Geno Smith. And what did you do? And I picked up Geno Smith. Oh my goodness. My rules of, I'm just not playing Broncos. Yeah. And I, I don't, I don't even, I don't even blame it. I'm not saying play Bonaix. He's not my start of the week because they're playing the Cardinals. I just think Waddle will get a couple of deep passes. He should, he's still good. I thought what's happened to his crazy because Bonaix can like throw the ball like 50 times. And it can be worth like 191 yards. You know what I mean? It's, they need to get it to, they, I don't know if you can go from where he is to dominance. But Arizona should be the matchup for it. I, I, there's a reason Bonaix was on the team. I just tipped off myself out of it, which I'm sure will be my demise. Like I said, Mike tight and start of the week. I'm going with Tucker craft again. We just want pieces of this game against Detroit. And weeks one through two for craft five total receptions last month, averaging five per game. And he leads all tight ends in designed targets. So we're talking screens, option routes. He didn't, but he just has one touchdown. The touchdown is worth so, so much don't let the fact that he, that Tucker craft isn't, it doesn't have the correct amount of touchdowns for what he's, he's done in production wise. He's going to get his, the touchdowns will regress. Oh, and Matthew has told me his national tight end day. Oh, is it really? Oh, every year, it's been good to leave every year on national tight end day teams like scheme up tight end touchdowns. Well, they won't have to scheme it tonight. I'm going Hunter Henry against Chicago. There aren't past catching options available. Oh, man. Beyond DiMario Douglas Hunter Henry and AJ Brown. Look who just picked them up in the League of Records. I'm not surprised. No, I mean, I saw him out there and I was like Hunter Henry this week is
a great floor play with touchdown upside, he scored in two straight weeks, the Chicago Bears. This game is going to be fun. What a bad pick. I mean, on national Titan day, you pick a Titan not playing that weekend on Sunday. Yeah, I'm an idiot. No, the matchup should work. I'm, I'm just making a joke of the Sunday. I'm going to go with Tyler Higby who plays Sunday on national Titan day. My dude Terence Ferguson, I love, he's not coming back soon. That's sad, but Tyler Higby's been getting it done. This is a really good matchup against the, the Las Vegas Raiders. And we have seen that whenever, if you don't have Puker, if you don't have Devonte Adams, they will use the Titan as the pass catching number two. And I, number two, number two. You know, so over the last month, he's averaging five and a half receptions, 59 receiving yards, those numbers are good for Titan. And it should only be better without Devonte Adams out there. Okay. There you go. That was the starts of the week, brought to you by Apple card, applying the wallet app on your iPhone today, subject to credit approval, Apple card issue by Goldman Sachs Bank, USA, Salt Lake City branch, more terms or more at Apple card dot com. We'll take a break and we'll jump into the forecast. Fantasy forecast presented by prize pigs. We get Cincinnati Miami, the Lions and Jamir Gibbs and the Vikings back off the buy bills, Chargers, commanders and Jags not playing this week. Let's start in Paris. Oh boy. Vegas line Pittsburgh minus three and a half. It's Pittsburgh at New Orleans at New Orleans. Pittsburgh's four and two right now with Aaron Rogers leading the way. The Saints are two and four. Got the victory last week after a rough stretch and rough start. The overrunters just 44 and a half. We know that we're going to be waking up early for this one. Over the last month, the guy that Jason thinks isn't playing well. Sixth and passing yards per game, Aaron Rogers. Number one and passing touchdown stats, dude in the NFL. Wait, number one and touchdowns are last month. Just number one, though, stats, stats, who cares? That's me this. That's me that played in over time. I mean, let's throw it out. Prize pigs projection has Rogers at two thirty three and shock at two thirty two. But again, that's the number. That's surprising. To which part the how low shucks is. It's not like three fifty. I mean, that is the more surprising thing to me is that is that shuck is down there. He obviously was two thirty two's a lot. The Saints are going to get killed in this game. That's my prediction. Really? Killed. Killed. I'm concerned. Killed. And it makes me feel uncomfortable starting anybody not named Crystal Lava in this entire game. You, Kendra Miller is one of the most popular start sick questions. Um, I don't want to do it. I feel like it's basically touchdown or bus for for him. He's getting opportunities and the for touchdown or bust, you know, he's been, let's see, over the last two weeks, he has four carries inside the five. Like that's not too bad. Uh, 20 total carries for 70 yards. The yards per carry, not, not great. But he was the leader. Like, if you're, if you're going in on one of the Saints running backs, that's where I would go. I'm just very concerned with the past rush against this. I'm as the Saints sustain drives without a running game that I think is going to keep them honest. I think, I think the Pittsburgh Steelers have been playing really good football. They're fourth in the league in terms of fantasy points, giving up to quarterbacks. So, you know, it's Tyler Shuck on your board this week because he's not on mine. He right now, my league of record is I, I platoon, Dak Prescott and Tyler Shuck, I'm going with Dak as of right now. Really? Mm-hmm. Against the against Philly. Yeah. I am. Um, yeah. I mean, a shuck is still on my board personally. I, I think he's playable. But I'm, I'm with Andy that he might get the crap beat out of him this week. Yeah. I mean, obviously TJ want with the, you know, there are offensive line struggles and a good past rush from the Steelers. I totally see how this game goes sideways for the Saints. But the Saints have played decent ball this year. And, you know, they, they went out last week and they, they put it on the Giants. I know at the very end of the game, JJ McCarthy came in and, and came back and, you know, it made it into a game, but it looked, it looked pretty overwhelming. I don't think this is a blowout. Uh, personally, I, I could see either team winning this game. Um, Chris Alave obviously must start. I think Tyler Shuck is still startable. I. Yeah. I mean, I, I feel like I would start him over, over Dak, but maybe that's, uh, maybe that's wild. Uh, Jalen Warren, Mike started the week. You talked about it. But the Saints haven't been able to stop anybody. Right. Um, on the ground, they're 30 second in fantasy points, given up to running backs. If you adjust for the schedule, they are still 30 second. Uh, they, they just haven't been able to stop anybody. Uh, DK McHF had nine catches in the fourth quarter and over time last week, which was nearly a record since the year 2000. Jermany Bernard's Mike started the week as well. You've got consolidated targets. You got a high, uh, passing number for Rogers. And you have a very beatable defense. Would you play Bernard Mike? You're started the week or Luther Burnett tonight in that, in that matchup against No England. I think Bernard is, I think I go Bernard. I think it's, I think it's the safer play and hand at the upside. It's funny. I threw the, through the, through the first three quarters of last week. I, you know, you're, if you remember, the, the Steelers were getting beaten handily by the backup quarterback for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and, and the Saints were, uh, boat racing with the Giants. And it's like, now all of a sudden one quarter later, Ross Fade at the end of this game. And now we're expecting, uh, or, you know, Andy's expecting a, a, a drumbing here for the, the Saints, uh, it'll be interesting. Um, I mean, neutral side. Juwan Johnson in favor by three and a half. I don't mess around with juwan this week, but I, I don't know what your options are. I'd play, I'd play Mewth on the other side. Yeah. Over Juwan, probably. Mike, would you play, Jordan? I would play Juwan over the Mewth. 49ers or six, you know, taken on the two and four Atlanta Falcons. Vegas line here, San Fran, only two and a half point road favorites over under 49 and a half. It's been bent down a little bit. Falcons are at home. Is that line surprise you at all? Wow. Yeah. It does. I mean, the, the, the 49ers have just been beaten the crap out of everybody. I think, to me, the, the linchpin of the passing offense is not going to play in this game. Right. And so without Mike Evans, maybe that's a little bit of the story. Second half with pretty rough. Yeah, they could remove the football. You're not going to have D bow back. Christian Kirch return, whether he plays or not, it doesn't matter to me. Brandon cooks as your leading receiver. That's not great. You know, Kittle is an auto start. McCaffrey's an auto start. If Evans is active, you take your chances on an early exit. That's the problem. Oh, man, I can't imagine Mike Evans. I mean, I, you can because he always does it and plays when you don't expect him to. That feels very, very dangerous. I, I almost think if he plays this week, I wouldn't play him, which sounds crazy because he's always great when he's on the field. I can't, I mean, they've got their buy week the week after. Give this man a little bit of rest. Yeah. Brock Pertie. You can play him. Yeah. It's not as, it's not juicy without Evans. Correct. Correct. He is still, like, he's still a solid play. Yeah. I got stuck in my throat there. He's still a solid play, but the ceiling is, it's harder to reach without Mike Evans. On the other side, Mike, you were let down last week, B. John. Yeah. Only 11 touches. They let the game completely get away with it. John and pits. Yeah. It's, this will be a good bounce back game for B. John. The place you can beat the 49ers in terms of fancy points is the running back. They give up a ton of running back receptions. So I would expect a bounce back and that part of the game for B. John as well. You seen the snap counts rising from Mr. Number two solidified spot, Johan Dotson lately. After, after the two fumbles from their rookie wide receiver last week, I, I don't expect that to change either. Johan Dotson has branch getting starts or getting some options on them, he's getting some options, but I'm just saying it's not going to change this week. Dotson will be their clear number two Kyle pits, a couple good weeks, same heating up philosophy, Mike. Yeah. He just universally feels like a trap every single time. It's a tough match up against San Francisco. I, I would, I mean, obviously at tiny under pits. I would play level over. Fandon or pits. Pits. Yeah, I think Henry tonight or pits. That's a fair question. See that the one thing that pits seniors Henry, the one thing he seems to be offering you is the boom potential that some of these like kind of mid-level guys couldn't pull off because he did it last year in the playoffs. He did it this past week. He at least has the athletic capacity to give you the super game. Yeah, I would agree. I think that what you're looking for in those decisions is touchdowns. Who's most likely to score touchdowns?
We know obviously scored two last week. You can't get it done. But I think Hunter Henry in that game environment against Chicago your start of the week has a higher odds to catch a touchdown than cow pits against the 49ers. Anything else in this game you guys want to bring up that I forgot about. No, this one's this one's pretty simple. It's like I think the only question marked to me is Brock pretty. I'm I'm a little nervous of him without. Okay, so for you, Jerry, you playing Brock, are you playing the Chuck daddy? I've got Chuck and Aaron Rogers in that game both ahead of pretty. Okay. Cleveland's four and two. Let that sink in taking on the one and five Tennessee Titans. The Vegas line here is Cleveland minus one and a half. The over under 37 and a half. That line is too close for the button, but I expect like I think Tennessee will win another game. Both teams coming off the big upset win last week. Tennessee at home. Did you realize they had six sacks last week. Jason made the unpopular suggestion of starting one of the worst teams in the league on the defensive side. I think you can do it. Yeah. I mean, Deshan Watson is always you can always play a DST against the Sean Watson. Even if he ends up with a good game because he takes so many sacks. There are turnovers mistakes mistakes. All of that. And the fact that this is a home game for Tennessee. I think you can actually put them in there. I mean the hard challenge in making the case or Tennessee winning the game is simply can they score on Cleveland's defense. They shut out Baltimore last week. We know that Cam Ward is I mean, I play both defenses in this game. But like you said, if the defense can make a player to have carnal take and make a player to a Tony Pollard can get another 20 opportunities on the ground. Which by the way, somehow someway Tony Pollard 20 plus opportunities in three or four weeks. Highest week was RB 16 in that stretch. It's crazy. It's kind of been doing this. I hate it. I hate what happened to Tony our sweet sweet Tony. Yeah, I mean Mike. I remember him drafting him in a mock draft this off season. Being so in on Tony Pollard. What are you talking about? I remember there was a mock draft where you took him and you hated yourself. I mean, that's what my memory. I drafted in the immediate wind. I don't know. I should have done that. That was a waste. It is funny for a guy that is getting 20 opportunities, 15 opportunities, 20 opportunities. You feel like you can't play him. Can you play any of the running backs on Cleveland this week? That's it. Judkins returns, which I think we're expecting him to do. I think Judkins does return. But the fact that Dylan Samson is back is coming off of his own ankle injury. I don't expect Judkins to just go right back to being first of all at 100% strength. Then in the workhorse role for sure, the matchup is fine. But I would prefer to give it a week to see what we get from Judkins. It's not like he was dominating for fantasy on the whole season before he went down to an ankle injury. All right. Dins L Boston. How are we feeling right now by him and fan and those guys have had big weeks. They've had bad weeks. It's bummed out about last week, but I'm still playing him. I think I mean, Boston has looked really good. He's still getting deep targets, 16.5 average depth of target. I would be fine having him in there as a flex option. He's not a must start guy. He's definitely a must try to have on your roster in hopes that the breakout continues. But he's passed the eyeball test and he's getting enough targets. I would much rather start car now, take on the other side, sure, who's, you know, had one of his breakout games last week. Really over the last month after those first two weeks, his four game stretch, including a game where he only had one catch would be 93 receptions for almost 1200 yards. So while cam wore is not getting it done and the pie is a gross moldy small little pie. He's goblin up a whole lot of it. So I do think that carnaltata is someone I would definitely start as a wide receiver. Did you know that carnaltate accounted for about 70% of the receiving yards. Yeah, because last week, but it didn't pass for 102 yards. Yeah. Well, hold on. I'm trying to give a good stat here. That's all right. That is exactly what I'm talking about. The pie is so moldy. The culture to and for and having troubles. They get the privilege of coming to Minnesota. Who's five in 0 and coming off a buy Minnesota six and a half point favors the over under 41 and a half. This is this is brutal. Like you jump last week. It's nice that the Vikings are on by because you don't have to think about the team playing the Vikings. Vikings defense is number one against quarterbacks. One number one against running backs against tight ends. They are unfortunately are also number one. Yeah. But they're only top five against wide receivers. Yeah. So like they just don't they don't give up points to anybody, but. Daniel Jones. I mean, and and right now the predictability of this offense. Like this is John and then Taylor to log out. You play Taylor because you play Taylor of a week. I mean, maybe you can make the case for Keenan Allen. Yeah. But I don't I don't think I can't really want to mess around the case for Keenan Allen is. He's a big place. He's a little nine 11. Yes. Those are the targets of the past three games. But if he gets 11 targets in this game against the Vikings. Does he get 55 yards? Yeah. Really? I think you would. I don't think he does. Not much inspiration play. Yeah. I like Aaron Jones. I think Jordan Mason's in play. If he starts, but probably temperate expectations. Maybe not. Do you think I think Jordan Mason will not be temperate? No, I think Jordan Mason is a good start this week. The the the running game. This is this is the perfect game for Jordan Mason in the sense that I expect the Vikings to go in there and win to be up and to be running the ball. Not needing to catch up, not needing to really have that second half of like, okay, we got to drop back to pass. We need Aaron Jones in there. This is going to be one of those like four minute drill for two quarter potential games. This games in Minnesota, right? So I just don't see how the colts get it done. I mean, this is the NFL. Any team can beat any other team on any given week. But it's hard to imagine. You like either. He's streamable. I love streamable. But again, kind of what I'm saying about the like Jordan Mason versus Aaron Jones. I don't know that they're going to need to throw it a ton in the second half. So that's that's where I get worried about it. Now Jefferson's prize picks projection 74 and a half on the yard. That's pretty good. I mean, it's Jefferson. He's Jefferson. But yeah, this game could get out of hand real fast and Hawkinson. If you need to he's playable. All right, we'll take a break. We'll jump into some more matchups. You guys probably want to talk Miami and the Jets. I will make you wait a second. The Miami doffins at 0 and 5 take on the 2 and 4 Jets. Vegas line Jets minus 4 and a half over under 39. And Kyle would like to illustrate. Well, first you said this game looks to be a true fart fest. So in all caps, which we do agree with. Because the Jets games, they just have low totals. They play slowly. But they need did a little Venn diagram situation of have you participated in a game that closed at 50 plus points in terms of the over under since the beginning of the Biden administration of the Biden administration. And every team has except for the Jets. The Jets since 2021 have not had a single game with a high over under above 50 Jets. Join us in the modern era. So the Jets are playing the 30th ranked team in terms of pace of play. And then Miami is 28th and pace of play. Yeah. This game is going to have 12 snaps. I mean, it feels that way. I'm surprised that the order to start 39 and a half. I mean, you're going to keep. You're going to continue to start more than you think it is kind of crazy, right? Because you're going to continue to start Garrett Wilson. Yeah. And you're going to. I don't think you can sit. Allie Gordon. I'm not just going to say allie Gordon. Those two are in you start him. Yes, I would. Yes, sorry. I would start allie Gordon. I would start Garrett Wilson. I mean, Bruce Hall of these active. He said he did not practice on Wednesday. He was a Wednesday. That would be easier for people if Braille was by himself. Yes, if Braille is by himself, then I think he's a good start. I agree. People that went out and paid money for Omar Cooper, Jr. Probably. Pining for a start, maybe a by week filling. Don't do it. Would you play pop Douglas tonight? Yes. Yes. I would not play Omar Cooper tonight. I play Odunze tonight as well. Absolutely. I'm excited that Omar Cooper looked good in his, you know, is the first time we really got to see him play a whole game. I picked him up in a couple of places. It's a it's a pick up and hold and watch. We're hopeful that this look, this Jets team. If Omar Cooper is good and Kenyans a deep is good adding him with Garrett Wilson and you get breeze hall back at some point in time. This could be a team in the next, you know, in the next few administrations that does get to a 50 point over 100. The problem is the dolphins are just such a stinky, stinky team that wide receivers don't score points on them. - No, the whole year, that's the way it's been. - Yeah, they've given up the--
third fewest points to wide receivers. And it's not because they're good. It's because you don't need to use. And they play slow. So you get the combination. Yeah. The points go everywhere else. It does mean if breeze hall does not play Braille and Allen's probably a fantastic start. Now you don't play a pass catcher for Malik. No. He is ranked 33rd in completion percentage, 30th and touchdown rate, 30 second and pass rating, 33rd and off target rate, 29th and sack rate and second and eight half of his stats being 33rd and a 32 team league is pretty bad for the second and eight out is very funny, though, because he just he's he's like, get a load of this. Yeah. Do it. You're going to play Malik Washington, the the waiver wire rental or Keenan Allen. Keenan. Yeah. Keenan. Okay. Tampa Bayes one and five. Maybe the return of Baker taking on the Carolina Panthers. Big divisional game. Kind of a huge game. Really? I mean, you've got a competitive division where at one and five, you might not feel like you're out of it. Yeah. If you can go in this game in Carolina, which will be a tough task, Vegas line is Carolina minus three over under 44 and a half. You're if the bucks lose this divisional game and they're one and six their toes. Yeah. 100%. This is a big deal. This is a playoff game for the buccaneers. They have to win this game if they want any hope. If they win it, just illustrating, you know, if the Falcons don't go and upset their opponent, right? That their underdogs is the Niners, which is the Niners and the Saints, who I think will lose the Pittsburgh game. The buccaneers would be tied with those two teams of the win. Wow. So that's that's the difference. And they have a tiebreaker with the Panthers right now. Yeah. So it really is a big game for these teams. That's why Baker's probably really, really wanting to get back out on the field. There are a lot of names in this game. Chuba has been an auto start buck. Easier start of the week. The running backs are kind of sorted out. I mean, a book has had a couple of good weeks in a row. Production wise, 17th and 13th at wide receiver. Yeah. I think a book is like 16 targets last week from Jalen Daniels. He's probably handshaking Baker real strong grip. Oh, you think he wants Jalen? I can't. I would want the guy who's giving me production. So is a book a play for you this week against Carolina? Well, right now, I believe he's still in the concussion protocol. So he's got a, he's got to be sorted. He's got to clear through that first, imagining that he is in this game. Dude, he's such a brutal player. Yeah. It's crazy. I mean, I think he's a, he's a, one of those questions, but you've got to ask working on the side. It's concussion slash foot. He's working on the side two day with a train. Just the, the first month with Baker Mayfield 8.8, 8.8, 8.7, 2.3. The rookie comes in and you're at 14 points twice. Yeah. One was a rushing touchdown. Yeah. No, and then let's just think how do you load? So then how do you go from that to like full confidence? I'm like a full send. Okay. I think that there's a book in the book. I think there's a lot of questionable players that I would play over at Buka, like Jeremy Bernard and Karnel Tate. Okay. My start of the week Jalen waddle. I don't think, I don't think that at Buka is someone that you, you can't start, you know, a previous good games from Omar Cooper and Trey Tucker, Xavier Worthy. I would start a Buka over those guys. So he is, he's in that kind of a tier, but it's got to pass concussion protocols first. If you want, if you want five points and that's it, Godwin is also available in every league. What if the Buka wasn't there? Do you think that that would change things enough for Godwin? No. No. No. No. Godwin is, if a book is gone, maybe Kate Aughton becomes the, this week's break glass tight end. Maybe the matchup isn't bad. Maybe. And he would be needed. Kate on, he can play football. He can, well, he comes through when, when players are out, Teteron Macmillan Jalen Coker. He can play on both. Yeah. Yeah. Darren Waller seems like he's a, not a thing. I mean, no, everyone else we talked about. Yeah. His, his highest yardage game on there. We did have a 51 yard game, but zero last week. If, if zero's in the realm and we're talking about guys like Aughton and Henry and, um, Higby and, loveland and pits and, be it more of them. Oh my. Well, Waller couldn't always get a touchdown, but if, if you don't get that, you're going to be, you're going to be disgustingly on him sort of a breaking news. Well, we don't need to because we're talking about the game right now. Cincinnati three and two, Baltimore four and two. Mike, I'm going to turn it over to you in a second. Vegas line. Since he might just want a half, but that could change any second. Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, overunders 48 and a half. Mike, what's the news? We got the latest breaking news is that Lamar Jackson just jogged onto practice or onto the practice field in uniform. Yeah, I don't. This is a football uniform. I assume. So, um, in the dress blues, like a military guy, yeah, he couldn't do that. Um, this is a big game. I mean, this is a divisional game. This is a home game against Cincinnati, where Cincinnati, after he, he, people thought he wasn't playing is now favored since Baltimore did not look very good last week. No, if Lamar is out, I would certainly believe the Bengals are going to win if Lamar plays. Yeah, the brown shut him down in the second half. Man, now Lamar playing like, I mean, it was moments ago when we said, Hey, he's probably not going to play in this game. The limp, the issue not having the rushing, like it be forces himself into this game. Is he going to run the ball the same? Yeah, that I would be skeptical of whether or not he would be really good for say flowers for Jacobi Lane. I think that he, he would, he would be great. Um, this defense that and more so the offense of the Bengals, it's going to score. I'm going to break down the video. Yeah. This is a light jog and not a full, you keep talking, Jason. I'll let you know what I see. All right. So Robin is ants. If, well, if you're meditating, let's he listen. No, Jason, you keep going. Yeah, he is slightly jogging. Talk at the same time as you. Uh, I mean, that's a jog. Yeah. If Lamar is behind center, that's not a full uniform. Then I would say that Zay flowers and Jacobi Lane are guys that are interesting. I mean, Zay flowers are starting no matter what. They've now you're excited for them. Jacobi Lane becomes someone that maybe you could put in a pinch. Uh, otherwise if, if it's Tyler Huntley there, I'm not playing Jacobi Lane. Um, and Zay flowers becomes, you know, a, a probable start, but there's a world where maybe I've got someone else on my roster where I could, I could put them on the bench. Um, Chase Brown, Derek Henry. Yeah. Jamar, Jason Higgins always, you talked about Lane, probably not messing around with tight ends when you've got the healthy pass. I mean, the Mark Andrews is an ultimate dart if Lamar is playing because the bangles can't guard the tight end position. Did you say fart or dart? Yeah. Well, both probably with a fart dart. We also, I think the one of the most interesting things to keep your eyes on for this game. Chase, nice. Chase Brown. That's how you last year was a really slow starter and an absolute dominant league winner to finish the year. We're hoping that that's what happens again this year. Yes, we, however, there was a change that we never saw last year that we did see. And then they went to their buy. And so you have to pay attention to the utilization between Chase Brown and Somaj P. Ryan coming out of the buy. P. Ryan's not a bad stash. P. Ryan last week had more carries than and, and prior to that week at the podium, Zach Taylor was saying, because Chase Brown's just been not good. He's not getting it done. And he said, we're going to have to take a look and maybe divvy up that work. Literally talking about giving Chase Brown less work. They come out that week. They give Chase. I'm going to break down another video. Okay, give me one second. They give Chase Brown 13. They give Chase Brown 13 carries. They give Somaj P. Ryan 14 carries. And then we'll all be hold. They won the game. Somaj P. Ryan goes out with 68 yards, 39. Like Somaj it was better. So now they go into the buy week. If they come out this weekend, it's a 50, 50 split. I will not be surprised. And I will be pretty scared for Chase Brown. I might be pretty mad. Yeah. I won't be, I won't be shocked if that happens. How it, but at the same time, we know who Somaj P. Ryan is. Yeah. And at 31, he's an old veteran running back. That's that I'm sure every once in a while. He's supposed to be an easy guy to beat in this committee. Right. Yeah. I mean, he's a thing. There were two guys vision has not been good. There have been, there were two, two guys that really changed when we did our fantasy draft redo. And it was like Hampton and Chase Brown. Mm hmm. They were not in the same spot. The giants are three, two, one blast off. That's their record. The Houston Texans are two and four. Oh, good. This line is right where it needs to be. Vegas line Houston minus 10 and a half. The overruners 42 and a half, the games in Houston. Wow. You heard what I said before when I said, I think the sealers are going to kill them. Yeah. The Texans are going to murder the giants. The Texans are rejuvenated. The mecha, Demiko Ryan's has been dominating the defensive side of things. Doublet nine. JJ McCarthy. Good freaking look. The problem with McCarthy is that you have, you have two, the math. You have too many pass attempts in this game to not make mistakes that are going to really significantly impact you. So to me, it's like goodness gracious. Strouds the start of the week. You know, the funny thing is is they're 10 and a half point favorites. What do you think Marks? I guess you can play him. Yes. Um, Nico. Yeah.
Who would be the next Widersaver you start if you had to for Houston? Oh, man, uh, no. Yeah, I mean, I, I, part of me wants to say, Marv, no, I get it. Well, nine rounds, but they, they had him for half a week. I mean, you know, they, they, of course, he was only going to run a few routes. Now that he's there for two weeks, maybe he runs, you know, 15 routes this week, and it's awful. And he's just like the number two Widersaver at some point this year, he will be the number two, right? Yeah, but he's still bad until I see otherwise fair. Yeah. No, not as a good player. Um, so for fantasy purposes, I, I don't really want a second wide receiver, also tanked L. Man, did you see him talking at the podium? No, he was, I do, I do think that is awesome. Yes, he was talking about, he's not nervous to get hit. He's not nervous. He's like, when he, when he gets that first reception, he gets like, I don't care if it's two yards or 20 yards. I don't care what it is. I'm going to get up and dance. He's like, he's not as used as you should. Oh, yeah. I mean, come on, come on, take, get a catch three straight top 10 weeks for Malik neighbors. Does he do it this week against Houston? Uh, man, I mean, obviously their defense has been improved the last couple of weeks when Dmitco Ryan's has taken over, but I, I, I don't think Malik gets to 20, but I think he is absolutely, uh, you know, wide receiver one worthy. The targets have been there 20 targets, 15 targets. There's no one else to throw the ball to. And if you do think that the Texans are going to boat race them, they're going to be throwing the ball. And it might be all in the fourth quarter when it's more of a prevent defense. But also, I don't think that this, like I was surprised I was 10 and a half. I, I think the giants are going to compete in this game, the only, obviously, if McCarthy comes out and throws an early pick six or something, that's how this game gets out of him. Yeah. Let's combine this game. Let's combine this game in Pittsburgh, and just use the lines, uh, I mean, if you're surprised at both lines and you thought they'd be competitive, let's just play them with the lines. So we have either one of us would have to go two and a half. Yeah. For the hundred bucks. Yeah. All right. And if we tied, it's nothing. And if one of us transfer 50s, that's three. Yeah. Jason would do that. Yeah. Uh, so you get the giants in 10 and a half and you get the Saints in three and a half. Okay. And two and a half is, uh, the money, I like it. I like it. Um, wait, am I supposed to do this now? Yeah. I'm not hitting a water bet for a money bet. Mmm. We need a new drop then. Well, because we need a new, we've been exchanging money. Yes. A new Andy Jason bet. I should send you the money right now and do your little trick. So you have to double pay back. Yeah. I won't be sending you anything. Isaiah likely, Malik neighbors and log out. We're not messing with running backs. Are we? In on cams, Gadiboo or Tyrone Trace here, I'm letting you shake out. Yeah. And we're definitely going to be watching and paying attention. They want to have someone establish themselves. Uh, I am more interested in who they're going to give the opportunities to this week. They should cut one guy a week until they have one left. Oh, that's great. They did it with Najee. Yeah. This week, it should be Hunger Games. Whoever is like, whoever's the worst this week, yeah, you're, you're, you're gone. Yeah. And then at the end, you've sorted it. I love that. Josh Jacobs is that practice, by the way, injury update, um, or not injury update, just update, practice update. That was the fantasy forecast presented by prize picks.
