This episode of Reddit Stories presents a collection of bizarre, spooky, and often humorous anecdotes from the Reddit community. A central story involves a user using a Minion voice box in their ceiling to "haunt" a neighbor, resulting in a mix of dark humor and eerie sound effects. Another story details a childhood whistling incident near a swamp, later echoed during a camping trip in South Dakota, raising questions about coincidence or supernatural connection. A third story explores sleep paralysis, where a user describes being paralyzed and seeing a menacing, floating creature with a dislocated jaw, describing the experience as terrifying yet oddly vivid. A separate narrative about mysterious items—like chicken, bones, and a jug of pee—on a rooftop is interpreted through a skeptical lens, with explanations such as raccoons or teenage mischief. Throughout, the hosts and guests emphasize skepticism, using logic, common sense, and technical reasons to downplay paranormal claims. The stories blend personal memory, psychological phenomena, and everyday absurdity, ultimately showing how seemingly supernatural events can often have mundane roots. The episode underscores the power of storytelling and the human tendency to interpret ambiguity as fear or the unknown, while maintaining a lighthearted, grounded tone.

Hello, and welcome to Reddit Stories.
I'm Shane, and this is our Halloween episode.
This is airing on the day, the night of Halloween.
And I am joined by two very scary guests, Angela and, for the first time here, Eli.
Whoa!
Whoa!
What's up, Star Angel?
Whoa!
Whoa!
Whoa!
Whoa!
Wait, we're the devil and we're the angel.
Yeah.
And you're?
And I'm the Reddit guy.
Yeah!
Yeah!
Kind of the classic, uh, what is it, trio?
But, okay, hold on.
This is crazy.
Halloween on a Saturday.
That hasn't happened since we were kids.
It has been a minute.
That's epic.
How do we feel about Halloween?
I wasn't allowed to celebrate it growing up, so I have no emotional connection to it.
Really?
Yeah.
Really?
Yeah.
I actually wasn't allowed to do, like, scary stuff.
But I was allowed to do, like, candy?
No candy?
No.
You didn't trick-or-treat?
No.
You weren't having fun with Halloween when you were an adult?
Or, like, at any point?
Yeah.
As soon as I started drinking, yeah.
But you just never had, like, a nostalgic view of it?
No.
No.
Interesting.
So on my tier of holidays, unfortunately, Halloween is pretty low.
Okay.
Angela?
It's gay Christmas.
It is gay Christmas.
I think, like, for me growing up, it was kind of whatever.
And then out here in L.A., like, for all my gay friends, it is truly the biggest month
of the year for them.
I just, I like hollow week.
I like, like, it's always been hard to pick one costume.
But having multiple, and I'm a big group costume girl.
What's the best group costume you've ever done?
I've got mine.
I'll say mine real quick.
You go.
Uh, we, uh, me and my group of friends did the show Captain Planet.
I will say mine was the worst costume, because I had to be the only brown kid in the damn
cast.
Heart?
Yeah.
What kind of power is that?
That's tough.
That's tough.
The power of friendship.
Yeah.
I was like, God.
The others can cause earthquakes and tsunamis.
Guys.
Let's get along.
Let's get along.
Let's get along.
We did it.
We've had this conversation before.
We've talked about this before, and he has telepathy, right?
I thought he could just talk to animals.
Just talk to animals.
They live in the city, right?
What animals are we talking to?
That is true.
That is so true.
Pigeons.
Pigeons and rats.
A stray coyote here in L.A., shout out.
And they're on phone calls.
Oh, okay.
This is awesome, too, by the way.
So, group costume, Angela?
I can't think of one.
Oh, okay.
Guess they weren't that good.
Anyways.
I honestly feel a little whatever about Halloween.
I like horror movies.
I like the vibes of Halloween.
You know what I think has ruined it for me?
Is that here in L.A., October is always hot as shit.
Yes.
And that, I can't get into a spooky zone when it's hot.
Yeah.
When it's 90 degrees outside, I'm like, this isn't scary.
Yeah.
If Shane were ever to find himself in like a horror movie situation, if it's not cold,
he's like, I'm not scared.
I'm just kind of like, I don't think of the sun.
I think about the sun.
It's not like dark and cold and misty.
Yeah.
It's not the vibe.
Wait, really quickly.
Really quickly.
Really quickly.
I figured out why I love Halloween.
It's because Thanksgiving, Christmas, and all that stuff, everyone's gone.
And for Halloween, everyone's here.
Everyone's here.
With your friends.
Oh, that's a good point.
That's what I'll say.
It's a good point.
Anyway, okay.
All right.
So, we have a range of spooky stories, but also silly stories.
Kind of got the whole gamut.
Eli, how do you feel about the supernatural?
Are you a believer?
I'm not a believer.
I am-
Skeptic.
I am very hugely skeptical.
Yeah.
Okay.
I'm also a skeptic.
It's your friend.
Okay.
You're a believer.
But I love listening to scary stuff.
It's fun.
And I have an open mind.
When someone says I experienced something supernatural, I'm not like, you're a liar.
Yeah.
I'm just like, okay.
I'm like, I don't know, understand the full scope of what it means to be human, to be
alive.
Yeah.
I don't-
So, who knows?
Yeah.
But who knows?
Yeah.
All right.
And you're a believer?
Kind of.
Depends.
Depends on my mood.
Yeah.
If I'm cranky, I'm like, there's not a ghost here.
Yeah.
Well, I think I mentioned how when it's too bright out and it's too hot, I don't get into
a spooky zone.
So, I think this is not spooky enough for me.
Can we make the tone a little bit more Halloween?
Oh, yeah, that's good.
Where's your instrument?
My voice that I was-
Your voice that I will not use.
Stories.
Stories.
The power of storytelling is my instrument.
Okay.
Shane brings nothing to the band.
Dude, come on.
I'm the vibes.
All right.
Our first story.
This comes from Petty Revenge and it was posted in January of 2026.
"I haunted my old apartment using minions over a lost deposit."

I haunted my old apartment using minions over a lost deposit.
So, this is from Petty Revenge and it was posted in January of 2026.
"I haunted my old apartment using minions over a lost deposit."
So, like 14-ish years ago, my boyfriend, now husband, and I were moving out of our
first shitty apartment.
The landlord was awful and even though we cleaned it top to bottom and had improved it
significantly while we were there, new fixtures my dad built, new tiling and bathroom and
paint, they refused to return their deposit saying it was dirty and would need an expensive
cleaner, even though they hadn't seen it yet.
We learned later his daughter liked the flat after seeing what we did to it and wanted
to live there.
I guess the landlord saw this as a way to get one more month of rent before having to
house his.
I'm extremely entitled, brat, for free.
We were moving countries like days later so we couldn't really fight it.
So it was the last day before we were meant to leave and lock up and I was super pissed
about the deposit.
We had a pile of old stuff we had used to decorate from my boyfriend's movie theater
manager job we were gonna toss.
One of these was a voice box from a giant inflatable minion from Despicable Me, or possible
a standee, cannot recall.
The thing was that this voice box went off randomly.
Like only once every few minutes.
Like every few days.
Spouting fart noises and minion gibberish.
It has a button that was meant to be motion activated when customers walked past, but
it also just went off randomly for some reason.
Guess where I put that annoying little fucker?
If you said crammed into a hole in the drop ceiling, then you would be right.
The icing on the cake?
I was Facebook friends with a neighbor who messaged me that she heard the girl talking
about how her flat is haunted and she keeps hearing this scary noise at night.
And if I had any of those issues.
Was it petty?
Yup.
Would I do it again as a full grown adult?
No.
I would have just let it slide and moved on.
Am I proud of 23 year old me for using minions to wreak havoc over $900?
Yeah.
A little bit.
We have a small update, if anyone cares.
I did a Google search and found the display.
I thought it was inflatable, but now I remember they were these heavy plastic molded figures
the cinema received.
They did the same for Alvin and Chipmunks, if anyone remembers.
Those.
This is what they looked like.
So it's those, you know, they're probably about a couple feet high, but they're solid.
Solid little figurine.
So she put this in the drop ceiling.
It's the voice box.
Oh, sorry.
Just the voice box.
Sorry.
I was imagining the whole figure up there.
It's just the voice box from those figurines.
Got it.
That's up there.
But.
Still spooky.
Oh, yeah.
Every day it randomly goes off.
It's not like motion activated and it's just like, "banana."
You're like, "oh."
Do you think that that person was literally like, "this ghost is really into Minions."
Oh my God.
This ghost is speaking Minions to me.
Do you think like if she ever goes to Universal Studios and goes on the Minion ride, she's
going to be like, just freak the fuck out because her brain's going to be like, "oh
my God."
It's following me.
Yeah.
Holy shit.
I feel bad though, because she didn't do anything wrong.
Her, like, you know what I mean, it was the landlord who was mean, right?
It's the landlord's daughter, so it's a family curse.
Yeah.
But yeah, but to be fair, she's doing nothing to the landlord.
Yeah.
It's the landlord who actually did the bad thing.
You're right.
Yeah.
Well, hopefully, I mean, you hope it causes distress to the landlord.
Yeah.
That the daughter's like, "this place is haunted," and now the landlord has to deal
with that.
True.
True.
But yeah.
It's very funny.
I think this is hilarious.
I think it's very, very funny.
Funny and silly and not really that, like, bad.
Like, I think it's perfectly good.
Just haunting a girl who lives alone is tough.
Yeah, that's true.
As someone who lives alone, sounds are really powerful when you're by yourself.
What's the scariest sound you've heard?
I heard a critter once, and I was freaking—
A what?
Like a little critter.
Oh.
Yeah, I heard him chewing.
I lost my mind.
You had rats in the walls or something?
Or something.
But then he was gone.
Yeah.
Well, they move around.
Yeah.
It's tough.
So weird for him to move.
Well, that's what they do.
Yeah.
My mom—
Went to Europe.
My mom is a crazy person about scent.
Like, and she needs it to smell good in her house constantly.
And there was a time where she bought—I think it was when my brother and I went to
college.
She bought like these like scent things that go all over the house that like randomly every
couple hours will go poof.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
I know those.
But they are spooky.
In the middle of the night, you hear like poof, and you're like something flew by.
Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
I get that.
You're not that freaked out.
We had those growing up.
Yeah, we had those.
It's just kind of scary.
It sounds like—
You just hear like the little psst.
Yeah.
No, but it sounds like a ghost is late to an appointment.
There's a ghost farting in here.
Have you ever, guys, been ghost pranked?
- No, I have not been ghost-pranked, no.
But speaking of funny little cartoonish things
that are kind of creeping you out,
there's a story in my family that my cousin,
when he was like six-ish, walked into his parents' bedroom
and saw the Pokemon Gengar, and--
- Which is a ghost.
- Which is a ghost, and we were living
in a creepy house at the time,
like me and my whole family, all 20 of us,
and we were like, "Why did he see Gengar?"
So we're thinking he maybe saw some sort of demon,
but the closest thing that he had in his brain--
- Don't worry, it wasn't a Pokemon.
It was actually a much more malevolent demon that you saw.
- He saw a demon, and the kid connected to Pokemon.
- But Gengar is also just a purple, dark blob.
- Exactly, so I think that was just
the easiest connection he made.
I think it was probably something sinister
on days that I do believe.
- Okay, yeah.
- Okay.
We never talk about silly ghosts.
- Yeah, like really funny stuff.
- Yeah, like ghosts are never funny.
That's where some of my skepticism comes from,
is people are always like, "A ghost."
It's always scary, and I'm just like,
I think if ghosts are real, a majority of people
would be like, "I'm gonna stick around
"and just fuck with people a little bit."
- Yeah.
- And maybe that's what they're doing.
- Or like a stupid ghost.
- Like a really dumb-- - Or a clumsy ghost.
- Yeah, maybe most ghosts are stupid
'cause they're people who can't figure
their fucking way up there.
Like, "Oh, you got lost, dumbass."
- There was a white light and you went the other way.
- Like, you think this is still your house?
It's not.
- I'm gonna be so haunted tonight.
I'm gonna come home and have to tell Courtney,
I'm gonna be like, "Hey, so I pissed off all ghosts."
- Yeah.
- I called every ghost on Earth stupid today.
- We're gonna get a lot of smart ghosts tonight.
- So, it's gonna be a problem.
I think, I've said this before,
the antidote to ghosts is having cats.
And people say like, "Oh, it's 'cause cats can detect
"ghosts and stuff."
I'm like, "No, it's because when you wake up
"in the middle of the night
"and there's just noises happening,
"you're just like, 'Oh, my friggin' cats are doing shit.'"
'Cause they do so much shit throughout the entire night.
You'll hear scratching.
You'll hear something get knocked over
and you'll wake up and you're like, "What was that?"
And then you're just like, "Meow."
And you're like, "You fucker."
You're like, "Go to bed!"
- Somebody stays over at your house,
their head starts turning them, vomiting,
and you're like, "It's 'cause we have cats."
- It's like, "Frickin' cats." - "We have cats."
- "We have cats."
- 'Cause that's what cats do.
- My cat growing up would always
walk on the piano in the middle of the night.
- Yeah. - And it was horrifying.
- They do the scariest. - Ring-a-ding-a-ding!
- You'd be like, "Whoa!"
- They do these scary-- - Piano's out of tune.
- They do the scariest possible shit that they can do.
- Yeah. - Yeah.
- Anyways, comments on this.
Someone said, "Banana, banana."
- Hmm.
- You know, Minion thing.
- Awesome, I've never seen the movies.
- Someone responded, the OP responded saying,
"It would screech 'banana' sometimes,
"but it was so distorted in the Minion voice
"that I am sure it sounded like
"it was summoning a demon."
- Oh! - That's horrible!
- That's quite horrible.
- Bring in your batteries, more batteries!
- "How long will the battery last?"
OP said, "I cannot imagine it lasted longer than a year.
"That being said, it was meant for a movie theater display,
"so it was more robust than a toy
"and was meant to last a while.
"A part of me chooses to believe it is still giggling
"and farting in the ceiling to this very day."
Lastly, someone said, "Okay, this is even better
"than tuna in the curtain pole."
I hope you replied that the noise didn't bother you,
but the way things were often not quite in the same place
in the morning was annoying.
Proper PSYOP's revenge if you get her second guessing
about stuff, too.
Tuna in the curtain pole?
What the hell?
- What in the Midwest kind of saying, what?
- That is just mean.
- Like, oh my God, my day was so shitty,
I had tuna in the curtain pole.
- Oh, you know, tuna in the curtain pole.
Other comments were putting horrible shit
that you can do to people.
Um. Some of those are just full-on crimes.
- Yeah.
And this, what's fun about this one is it seems easy.
She just had to put it up there.
- It's the voice box.
- Yeah.
- And it is funny.
- It's funny.
- Like, it's just like if they had to go and tell the cops,
like, okay, so they put a Minion voice box in our ceiling,
they'd be like, that's hilarious.
- Yeah.
- Sorry, we can't charge her 'cause it's funny.
- We can't charge her.
- Yeah.
Now, I don't understand hole in the drop ceiling.
What does that mean?
- I assume, I'm assuming drop ceiling is kind of like
the ceilings that can kind of, you know,
the ceiling tiles or the like, like something
like that you can move.
- Oh, you can move it.
- Like a, almost like to an attic space.
- Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Oh, drop, oh, I see.
- Yeah, yeah.
- Oh, I see.
- So just up in the attic space.
I just feel like it's easy to call me.
Like, if it's an apartment complex, you just go like,
hey, I'm hearing some noises from the ceiling.
- And get them to go up there and look at it, yeah.
- Yeah, I feel like--
- 'Cause they would find the voice box.
- Yeah, fully.
- And be like, okay.
'Cause it can't be like they hid it in some crazy spot.
- It's not too bad.
- No.
- It's not too bad.
- But if it's an asshole, they can go with you.
- Yep.
- All right.
Eli claims--
- Welcome, my child.
- The first OP.
All right, it's time for our next story.
And I should warn you, this one is actually pretty scary.
- I'll be the judge of that.
- Okay, this story comes from Ask Reddit.
This was posted back in December of 2015.
And they asked, "What is the creepiest thing
"that has ever actually happened to you?"
And someone responded.
And they said, "I've been waiting a long
"time to tell Reddit the full story of The Whistler.
"This story requires many details,
"but it is unexplainable, creepy, and 100% true.
"I also have video evidence.
"When I was about eight years old,
"I was taking my dog for a walk
"through the neighborhood with my mom.
"It was maybe 11:00 PM.
"We lived next to a swamp/woods area
"on the edge of our neighborhood in Lansing, Michigan.
"I remember it being very silent and slightly windy.
"From down in the swamp, we heard somebody whistling at us.
"It sounded sort of like a bird,
"but each whistle was different enough
"where the lack of consistency made it human-like.
"The whistle sounded higher than lower.
"I can't really describe it.
"My mom had a concerned, slightly terrified look on her face
"and grabbed my hand and said
"that we should go inside quickly.
"I didn't understand because I was too young,
"but seeing my mom freak out made me freak out too.
"After a while, though, I kind of forgot about it.
"Two years later, I was taking my dog out again
"late at night.
"There's a large bush that could easily
"obscure a person behind it just next to the front door.
"As I was finishing the walk,
"the whistling noise started again.
"Same pitches, same inconsistent human-like tones.
"As soon as I heard it, a chill went down my spine
"as I remembered exactly the feeling
"of seeing my mom terrified looking down into the swamp
"at something I couldn't see.
"Maybe she couldn't either.
"I ran inside as fast as possible.
"Years went by, and I thought about it less and less.
"I told only a handful of people,
"and eventually it slipped from my mind.
"Fast forward to last night,
"the last summer.
"I'm 24, started dating my girl Sarah.
"We moved out to South Dakota for work.
"For Independence Day, we decided to go to Pierre,
"South Dakota, and watch the fireworks
"along the bank of the Missouri River.
"There was a free camping spot behind a hospital
"where you could pitch your tent, hang out,
"and see the fireworks up the river.
"We were near the end of the campground,
"and there were very few people around us.
"As it was getting dark, the fireworks began.
"They were pretty far away, so the illumination
"they brought was very little.
"Thus, we had to sit right at the edge of the river
"to be able to see them.
"A huge thunderhead was moving in,
"and a storm was imminent, so the air seemed electric,
"and the wind was picking up.
"The atmosphere was eerie, to say the least.
"The police boats herded all the other boats off the river,
"and had left our area to do that elsewhere.
"Most of the other campers walked up the river
"to have a better view of the fireworks,
"but Sarah and I stayed back,
"and were drinking PBR Tallboys and kicking it.
"Hell yeah."
- Kicking it.
- This spooky story is brought to you by PBR.
- PBR.
- Suddenly, we heard the sound of a paddle
methodically dipping into the water.
We saw a figure steering a canoe about 20 meters offshore.
Sarah decided to go get more beers from the car,
leaving me alone to stare at this mystery person.
And then, of course, they whistled at me.
My entire body was frozen and covered in goosebumps.
It was the exact same whistler from my childhood,
more than a decade earlier.
I looked at the figure,
but it was much too dark to discern who it could be.
They were wearing a hat.
When they were perpendicular to the shore from me,
they stopped paddling,
turned the canoe to face directly at me,
and whistled right at me.
I was so frightened,
I stood up and shouted at them, "Who are you?"
They didn't say anything,
just whistled a couple more times,
turned the canoe 180 degrees,
and paddled out of sight.
I'm a videographer,
so I already had my camera by my side
and was taking video of the fireworks.
As the canoe was almost out of sight,
I grabbed my camera and got a shot of them whistling
as they went away.
When Sarah came back from getting beers,
she was very confused as to why I was so freaked out.
When I explained, she was freaked out a bit too.
I was convinced we would both be murdered that night.
How did this whistling person follow me
after 14 years all the way to South Dakota?
Was it a coincidence?
Why was it the same whistling noise?
Who was that person and where did they go?
So many questions still unanswered.
To this day, I'm more afraid of being outside in the dark
where I might hear that whistling again.
I'm open to any explanation.
If there is interest, I will find a plug
and edit a little video of the fireworks
and the whistling noise and the canoe disappearing.
I'm in Uganda currently and the internet is spotty where I am,
so I'll do my best.
Edit, video is coming, I promise.
Where I'm at in Uganda, the power goes out sometimes,
so if you don't hear from me,
either that happened or the whistler finally got me.
Edit number two, okay, finally,
I spent all afternoon uploading this video.
Here is the video.
- Yes, yes, yes!
Thank you.
Almost has a million views.
How far away is that canoe, though?
You can see the person in the canoe?
At the end of the video, he kind of turns it away a little bit
from where he's pointed at originally,
and you can see someone in a canoe.
Okay.
When I was still getting shots of the fireworks,
I heard the whistling starting.
I was too afraid at the moment to point the camera directly at the canoe,
so I just turned my microphone towards it
and kept a low-key shot facing downriver towards the fireworks.
If you wear headphones, you can hear it better.
It's the two-note whistle, high then low.
You can hear me ask my girlfriend,
are you whistling?
Is that you?
She said no, but I wasn't sure,
so I told her, stop it, because I was getting scared.
The last shot, I boosted the brightness as much as I could
and still couldn't make out the person in the canoe.
It looks like they're wearing a red sweater or something.
Edit number three.
It's been a while, and I apologize for that.
I'm back in the U.S. now, and I asked my mom about it.
I sat her down and played the video for her.
She honestly doesn't remember anything like that happening.
I wish I had something more exciting to say.
Alas, it must remain a mystery.
Okay, so. You're feeling skeptical about this?
Yeah.
Okay.
What are you feeling skeptical about?
Just, again, Uganda.
Uganda, just. Sorry, I'm in Uganda.
Fakest place I've ever heard.
And then the whistling sounded like it was coming from behind the camera.
If the canoe person is 50 yards away,
I don't think that that's what you would be hearing.
The whistling would. It'd be hard for whistling to carry over.
It'd be hard for whistling to carry over the fireworks.
Yeah.
It sounds very close to the camera.
Now, he does explain he is filming.
He didn't want to point the camera at the guy.
So he was pointing away.
So the sound is coming from. It doesn't sound like it's coming from. But, of course, I'm like,
that looks like he's too far away for that sound to be carrying over.
And was that an edit that he mentioned that he was filming,
trying not to film the person?
He said he had his microphone pointed.
Was that during an edit, though?
Because in my brain, if it's an edit,
then maybe some comments were like,
we're hearing the whistle from where it shouldn't be coming.
And then he's like, oh, I've got to cover my track.
That was edit number two.
Well, no, because that's in the same edit that he gave the link.
So he puts the link in and he goes,
here's, he then explains that.
I see.
So on a technical level, I'm like, okay, I believe whatever.
The sound does sound like it's right next to the. It's hard for me to believe that sound would travel like that over water.
So I'm not really that scared by the whistle.
I'm horrified by the figure in the canoe.
It is scary.
No one said like, who is that?
Canoeing at night is like sketchy
and he doesn't have a light on his canoe.
I wish he got footage of that.
I know, it is always where I'm a skeptic
when it's like this crazy footage
and I'm like, it's always shot on a Samsung from like 2005.
And he goes, don't worry, I'm a videographer.
So I'll get good sound.
And I go, I don't care about the sound.
I want to see who the fuck is in the canoe.
Yeah, I'm like, why'd you film this on your Nokia?
Like, you know, get good quality.
Like be brave.
He's on a canoe 50 yards away.
Fucking film him.
Like zoom in.
20 yards, you could hear,
but the video looked like he was further than 20 yards.
Give it to me in feet, baby.
That video looked like a football field away.
That's what I was thinking too.
Give it to me in gay American people.
Football field.
Football field, I'd say, yeah, 10 dance floors.
10 dance floors?
10 dance floors.
You can't hear shit.
I also, okay.
All right.
We can talk about the science of sound traveling and whatever.
There's a guy on a canoe whistling, right?
We do have,
the footage does show a guy on a canoe whistling.
I will also say,
I feel like if I'm on a canoe,
I might whistle.
Yeah.
It feels like a thing.
You do on a canoe.
And you know,
if it's a repeated pattern,
it happened from his childhood.
It does.
Also, in this video,
you see the beautiful fireworks.
Doesn't,
it doesn't feel crazy for someone to be like,
let's see the fireworks from a canoe.
One guy on a canoe.
Because what freaked me out is being like,
why is a guy canoeing at night?
But then with the fireworks on July 4th,
I'm like, oh,
you might want to like go out in the water
and see them from the water.
So maybe it,
it makes sense why there's a random man canoeing.
Yeah.
And what about the whistling in his childhood?
He heard the same whistling.
Like that's crazy.
But is it the same?
Is that river attached to where he was in Michigan?
No, it's it.
Well, he's in South Dakota now.
And that was Lansing, Michigan.
Are these rivers connected?
And those are far places or close places?
Uh, those are relatively close.
I mean, you have,
you have Michigan,
you have Minnesota,
you have South Dakota.
500 dance floors.
That's 500.
Yeah, Minnesota is very tiny.
Um,
but I,
I could imagine from the Great Lakes that the rivers.
Okay.
That someone could canoe up and down.
So the whistling.
No, they're not connected.
No.
Not connected.
They're not connected.
So this guy picked up his canoe,
walked it over.
So there goes my theory that this is Chiron.
And this is actually the River Styx.
Okay, so that theory's out the window.
So it's not death.
And you know, whistling is a kid's sound.
Yeah.
You hear it when you're a kid.
Also, like if you're an inexperienced whistler,
it's like, what are you going to do?
You're going to go,
whistling.
Yeah.
whistling.
You're going to do it a little interval, just two notes.
And I do feel like there are animals that could get close to that.
I feel like I've heard that in nature.
At least close enough that if I heard the sound years apart,
I could be like, that's the same, same sound I heard 10 years.
Some animals sound absolutely demonic.
Yeah, there is something.
I feel like a lot of spooky stories are always somebody going,
I heard this as a kid and then I heard it later.
Yes.
And I'm like, I wonder if that's us, like,
I'm not trying to just be a skeptic, to be a skeptic,
but I wonder if there's something about like,
oh, I remember this from my childhood.
So now I'm like, kind of like making the connection.
And that's just a sound.
Yes, yes, yes.
Like, I don't know, walking around and you hear,
meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow, meow.
Yeah, you hear the meow mix.
Yeah.
The meow mix in your song.
And you're like, what?
It told me 10 years ago.
So this has a few comments.
Someone said, I love the idea that you had a psychotic
breakdown at some dude just chilling and canoeing
down the river at night, whistling happily to himself.
Someone said, I watched this video like 20 minutes ago
and still hear the remnants of that whistle in my head.
It's fucking eerie.
Someone said, here's your problem.
You only walk your dog once every two years.
The whistling is the relief from its anus
finally being able to let go.
Jesus.
Oh wow.
Oof.
Oh my God.
Okay, all I'm gonna take away from this is,
if you're alone, you shouldn't whistle.
I think whistling should only be allowed
when you're with people.
Oh yeah.
When you see somebody by themselves walking along
and they're whistling along,
I think that is so fucking scary
and you shouldn't do that.
That's all I'm gonna say.
Good to know.
It is, yeah, those types of sounds, awful.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Rivers are scary.
Rivers and woods and swamps,
there's something up with swamps.
Yeah.
And I don't know what it is.
Oceans are scary at night.
Yeah.
But not like, like swamps have like a, like a,
yeah, you're right.
Oceans are scary in a like Cthulhu way
of like what's down there.
Yeah.
But swamps are scary.
Like swamps, that's where I'm like ghosts,
if ghosts are real, they're in swamps.
Yeah, yeah.
It's foggy.
And it's dinosaur,
it's all just dinosaur like remnants, you know?
Swamps?
Swamps, like yeah, like I feel like that's.
I thought swamps were just yuck.
I thought swamps were water.
Well, swamps are water,
but I just feel like swamps have so much like
ancient shit in there, you know?
And that's what makes them swamp?
Not necessarily.
No, swamps are that they're below sea level,
so that water rises above the ground.
But that logic, anything is dinosaur.
But I just feel like there's tons of old shit like.

Our next story comes from Today I Fucked Up.
It was posted in October of 2014.
These are some old tales.
Okay.
Today I fucked up by remembering I know how to induce sleep paralysis.
What?
I did not know that was a thing.
All right.
Does anyone. Do you have. Do you guys have sleep paralysis?
Oh, yeah.
You have sleep paralysis?
Oh, yeah.
Like, currently?
Like, do you. Yeah, yeah.
Every once in a while, yeah.
Oh, wow.
I'm like, I can't move my body.
But nowadays, I've gotten to a point where I know what it is, and I can be like, okay, you know what this is.
Just relax.
It'll go away.
I never had the. Because a lot of people experience an actual presence when they get a sleep paralysis.
I've never had that.
That sounds terrifying.
Damn.
Yeah.
No, I've never had sleep paralysis.
You've never had it?
No, no, no.
Wow.
I almost have the. I almost have the opposite, like. Does anybody have, like, a presence with them?
Marcus, you also have a presence?
Yeah.
Oh, Jesus.
That sounds terrible.
I feel like I have the opposite, where when I wake up, I'm, like, fully awake and ready to go.
Yeah.
I thought you were going to say when you're asleep, you're just too loose.
You're like. I can't stop dancing.
I truly, like. Maybe it's because I've gotten used to, like, waking up early and, like, getting up and going.
Like, I truly, like, have mornings where I'm just like, all right, and I just, like, get up.
That is terrifying.
That was really spooky.
That was so scary.
That was so scary.
This is. Okay, pretend this is borderline.
We had our fire alarm go off in our bedroom, and I was actually up and standing before I, like, even was, like, fully awake.
Like, I. Because, like, fire alarm goes off, and I truly was just like, bam.
And I was, like, on my way downstairs, like, fast.
That's amazing.
That is scary as hell.
I'm just like, yeah.
Like, you got to. If I was Cornell, I would be screaming every morning.
I think it's also, like, waking up early, like, I want to wake up and get to the gym first thing.
So, in order to do that, you have to wake up. You have to wake up. You have to wake up and move before you can sit in bed and go, like, I shouldn't. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
It's because you work out.
So, if I'm, like, if I get up and just get my clothes on, I'm like, now I'm done.
Actually, that is a thing.
So, I just have to move.
So, I never wake up, and I'm like, okay, like, I'm, like, boom, up.
Wow.
Have you ever come to or fully waken up while you're, like, mid-lift?
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Mid-squat.
Yeah, mid-squat.
Oh, whoa.
Good morning.
God damn.
All right.
So, this guy fucked up by remembering.
He knows how to induce sleep paralysis.
Thanks.
So, this fuck-up actually happened this morning at, like, 12.14 a.m.
I live in Charleston, South Carolina, and currently it's been raining for the past, what, four days?
Important detail.
Anyways, back a couple months ago, I discovered I could put myself in sleep paralysis-like states
by falling asleep laying down in a weird way.
Eventually, while trying to sleep like this, I'll hear a knock somewhere to the left of me,
and then moments later, my body will almost instantly become paralyzed
Generally, I do this with the lights on, so I don't see spooky shit,
because at that point, your mind is kind of in a sleep-like state,
but you're awake, and if you think creepy, you see creepy.
Which leads to this morning, I was getting ready to go to bed, not too tired,
and I thought to myself, it's raining, kind of soothing, why not try to do this again?
It's been a while.
So, I get ready for bed, keep only my lamp on for some light, and begin the process.
It's going smooth, the rain is relaxing, but begins to pick up.
It starts thundering.
It's thundering pretty loud, which is cool and all, but this is when I start to feel it coming up on me.
I hear this loud thunder, and then I hear the knock to the left of me.
My body begins to go numb, and then the power goes out.
Fuck.
I tried not to think of spooky shit, saw spooky shit, scared the shit out of me.
It took about seven minutes of me trying to wiggle my toes before I was able to shake it off.
Not being able to scream for help or do anything that might be helpful
besides closing your eyes, knowing all this spooky shit is going on.
I damn near had a heart attack, and when I got out of it,
I turned my iPhone light on for the night, because fuck that.
Edit.
Questions like, what did I see, and how do I do it, and why would you do that?
So, I guess I'll try to explain.
How do I do it?
You know that kind of tired where you're slightly tired and you could sleep,
but it'd take a little effort?
Well, once you're to that point, just lay down, get comfortable, listen to some music,
but quietly, so it's just background noise.
Personally, I like chiptune mixes.
And lay flat on your back with your hands at your. Place your hands so that they're facing inward at your thighs,
and have your forefingers under your thighs and leave your thumbs out.
No!
Why is this guy doing a ritual?
Stop it! No! I don't like it!
Don't turn your head left or right, straight ahead up at your ceiling,
then just try to sleep.
What happens with me, because I don't know if this even works with other people,
is eventually I'll feel my heartbeat.
Then I'll feel my body kind of thicken internally.
Then I'll hear the knock.
I swear, it's like someone is shutting a door off in the distance.
And I have to remind myself it's the knock.
Moments later, I'll hear it again.
Then, boom, I can't move or do anything.
I haven't got the free time to experiment with it too much, but I'll try.
What did I see?
This time specifically, since the power was out and I was scared shitless,
I saw some weird-ass monster.
You can move your eyes around, but you can't actually move your head.
I could see into my bathroom,
which is like twice as dark as everything else, if that's even possible.
And I saw this white face
with black holes where the eyes were supposed to be.
But the blackness extended across the nose in a thin line.
Hard to explain, I know, but it slowly moved closer.
No sound, no bobbing up and down, as a human does when it steps.
Just floated towards me slowly.
Once it closed about half the distance, it stopped and opened its mouth.
And not a slow movement.
Like one moment, it was closed.
The next, it was dislocated snake jaw shit.
Then proceeded to move closer, but way faster.
So I shut my eyes and wiggled my toes furiously.
Call me a bitch, but damn, that shit is spooky.
-Bitch! -I feel cheesy typing this,
like it's a creepypasta or something, but whatever.
Why do I do it? Because it's fun.
You can't imagine what it's like to literally not be able to move
or even make vocal noises until it's happened.
It's just interesting is all.
And now with all these comments about the lucid dream side of it,
I have that now as motivation.
This guy is fucking weird.
You know what, I'm going to say he's no weirder than people
that actively go see horror films because they want to scare themselves.
And no different than people who do like drugs and they're like,
"I've had a fucking freaky trip."
It's like, yeah, well, you did it.
Yeah, but this is fucking weird.
-It's a little more ritualistic. -Like, you're bored, man.
Call your mom back.
It's like, hey, man.
Wait, am I brushing my hair?
Oh, my God. Oh, you're being so Ariel right now.
-Oh, it's the comb. -Oh.
So Ariel.
Okay, so I'm judging him and I shouldn't.
I'm judging OP, but this is scary to me.
I don't like, I don't, I don't like that.
I wouldn't want to do it again after that.
Yeah.
Like, he just saw a monster unhinge its jaw at him and he's like,
"Yeah, but I'll probably do it again."
He goes, "There's the knock."
Like, maybe get into like a different hobby.
Like, get into pottery or something.
Well, did he mention lucid dreaming?
Is he trying to kind of lucid dream?
Is that what he's trying to do?
So not, he wasn't planning on it,
but now that people were talking about lucid dreaming,
he's like, "Oh, I'll look into that."
Yeah, 'cause I'm like, that's cool.
-That's cool. -God, I wish I could do.
Yeah, 'cause that, you're like getting stuff done.
-Yeah. -Or you're like seeing stuff.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
-It can be a good experience. -Yeah.
-You're like, "Oh, I can fly." -Yeah.
What interests you about losing all ability and power to move?
Yeah, it's like, "Hey, man, maybe you have anxiety."
Kind of kinky, he's getting thick inside.
He's getting real thick inside.
-He's getting thick inside. -What that means, who knows?
He likes putting on music quietly and getting thick inside.
-Touching his thighs. -Yeah.
-Something there. -Something there.
-Yeah. -This guy's a sex pervert.
Yeah, hey, we've actually decided you're a pervert.
You're a pervert.
-That's wild. -Yeah.
Comments, someone said, "Turn it into a lucid dream next time.
There's a method that involves exactly what you did."
Yeah, yeah.
Someone said, "I get sleep paralysis on the regular.
Very scary stuff for the majority of times it happens.
If you try it out because of this thread and end up getting something scary,
don't sweat it.
15 seconds of blocking it out gets rid of it.
But don't let the negative detour you.
It can be a very relaxing state to be in."
I will say, like, reading that, hearing that, I was like,
it is interesting and people, I don't mean to, like, judge him,
but, like, people get really interested.
People get really interested in, like, types of meditation
and types of focus and concentration that do bring you other places.
You know what I mean?
-And that is really cool and powerful. -Absolutely.
Like, even intense types of breathing that can get you feeling like
you're in another state is cool.
Have you guys ever lucid dreamed?
Yeah, I have.
So what does that feel like?
You feel like you're in, like--
You're aware of the dream, so you get to start, like--
-Controlling it. -Doing it, whatever you want.
So I have had that feeling where I'm aware of the dream,
but not controlling it.
Where I'm like, "Look at this dream.
This is a crazy dream."
Next time you have it, try to control it 'cause you can.
By doing what?
Whatever you want. You're kind of like, "Okay, now I want to just fly."
And you can just fly.
It's cool.
-That's why I'm like, lucid dreaming is really cool. -This is what happens
when God and the devil talk.
I realize I did have a lucid--
It was a lucid sleep paralysis-ish thing that happened when I was a teenager.
Or maybe I was even younger. I was, like, 13, 12.
But I had a weird dream.
I was having a lot of weird dreams in my early teenage years.
And I had a dream once where I remember I was at my grandparents' house,
but it was, like, really weird.
Like, there was just a lot of weird shit happening, but not a cohesive dream.
Which is very in line for me, and I never have, like, cohesive dreams.
It's just kind of, like, all over the place.
But at one point, I'm like, oh, this is a dream.
And I remember being like, I'm going to wake up.
And as, like, I'm trying so hard to open my eyes,
so I'm simultaneously feeling myself in bed, trying to open my eyes.
I'm also in the dream.
And I remember my grandparents' house just ripping in half
because I was, like, trying to open my eyes.
And then it was, like, kind of like I was hallucinating
where I was seeing my bedroom but also seeing the dream as I was, like.
And then I remember it was, like, kind of I was stuck there, but I don't recall.
But I just remember that.
I still distinctly remember that experience.
That's wild.
Have you hallucinated dreamed?
You said you do?
Mm-hmm.
How often?
I've done it before.
Oh, like, once every couple years, I would say.
Or once every.
And it's accidental.
It's always accidental.
You've never purposefully.
No.
I think for, like, a month, I was, like,
I'm going to actively try to learn how to lucid dream.
And then I got bored.
Then you got bored.
You got into improv comedy.
I got into improv comedy instead.
I don't need to lucid dream.
I'm dreaming all day, every day.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I'm flying with my imagination.
I'm living the dream.
I'm playing a barista who can't stop sneezing.
Right here.
That's imagination.
Okay, so we're brothers.
Okay.
And we're about to do a singing competition.
Yeah.
Here I am making fun of this guy for, like,
exploring his body and going other places.
All I do, improv comedy.
Improv comedy.
Yeah.
I go, order for blah, blah, blah.
That's actually crazy.
But, wait, I do want to know if anybody out there knows what this is.
Because I will have.
So, deja vu means you've dreamt it before, right?
No, Lucid.
Deja vu is feeling like you've experienced what you're experiencing before.
Or dreamt it.
So, I have it with that.
Where, like, I will dream stuff really far in advance.
And then, finally, I'll experience what I dreamed.
And then I'll go.
Okay.
Okay.
I remember dreaming this.
And I remember, in my dreams, I always go, what the heck?
Because we moved studios.
And we got new cast members.
And I remember a long time ago in our old studio, before new cast members,
I remember there was a moment outside where I dreamed it.
And I remember going, Smosh looked really different.
And there was different people.
And then that happened.
Who did you, who were the people?
Did you see them?
It was, like, there was some new crew, too.
It was, like, it was just a mix of a bunch of new people in, like, a green room.
And I remember.
being like, then it happened.
So it was like Dina?
Yeah, it literally was.
It was like, I don't remember specifically who it was.
Interesting.
But I remember then going, whoa, I dreamed this.
But I've heard like your sleep is your brain,
like it's piecing together a lot.
It's kind of like taking all the information,
all the experiences and kind of like
flushing out what's not necessary
and piecing together things, making sense out of things.
It's why your dreams are so symbolic.
Yeah.
No, a lot of that is theory, right?
Like we don't know for sure what's going on,
but that is the leading theories.
My favorite thing about Deja Vu that I ever heard,
and it's maybe a debunked theory, but I always liked it.
It's a scientific theory that, you know,
what you're seeing in front of you
is what your eyes are picking up and it's interpreting.
So like you're not actually seeing what's in front of you.
What's playing out in front of you
is what's happening in your brain, right?
So the theory is that one eye is processing something
just slightly before the other.
And so you're like, oh, I've seen this before.
It's because one eye is kind of technically seeing it.
Whoa, that's fascinating.
That might be wrong.
That might be debunked fully, but I like,
I think it's a fun plot.
Or past lives.
This eye's looking over there.
This one's like rolled back.
It's like, sorry, this one's processing.
This one's just. My other eye's just like over here.
Yeah, it's like, sorry, you know,
just this eye likes to process.
But truthfully, you're probably Raven-Symoné.
That's awesome because she's my comedy hero.
Okay.
Okay, great.
And then lastly, someone commented and asked,
would the reverse be true?
Would you see wet dreams if you think of sexy things?
Now, why do you have to make it nasty?
It's like, hey,
oh, this scary, pale-faced demon.
Now you want to fuck it?
What if that demon had just huge boobs?
My God.
Demons don't have boobs.
Grow up.
Huge boobs and a big old butt.
Okay, okay.
Now, that's it.
Okay.
Okay.
The demon's coming towards you and you're like,
um, do a little spin.
Yeah.
And the demon's like, ah.
Um, do a little spin.
You're like, whoa.
Whoa, caked out demon.
Me and Pirellas would just be like, whoa.
Hey.
He likes doing that.
He likes doing that stuff.
He hears the knock and it means big titties are hanging.
Oh, no, it's the big titty knock.
Oh, and the big ass whistle.
Big titty knock, big ass whistle.
That's good.
That was good.
Yeah, that's it.
Okay.
We always make sure to bring stories back to a giant ass.
I freaking love that.
That's kind of like our thing here.
Kind of our thing.
That's kind of our thing.
All right.
Our next story comes from a subreddit I've never heard of.
Before.
The subreddit is called The Truth Is Here.
And this was posted back in 2014.
So this subreddit's been around.
Yeah, the truth's been here.
So this subreddit is a database for encounters with the unknown.
For people to post about their experiences and stuff.
So someone wrote in, something weird has been happening on my roof.
Advice is welcome.
Okay.
Okay, just a little bit of backstory.
At my childhood home, I was certain there was someone who hung out on the roof of our
addition at night and watched me through my bedroom window.
It was too dark out there to see for sure.
And I was too afraid to shine a flashlight, but I could hear them sometimes and would
see flashes of light, almost like they were taking pictures.
My mom thought I was nuts until one day she said that the furniture on the deck of the
addition was moved in a way so that someone could climb up on the roof when she came downstairs
in the morning.
She still didn't do anything except put blinds on my windows because she is the type of person
that never addresses issues.
And pretends like everything is always fine.
Okay, roasting your mom.
Truly, the parents of every horror story.
Flash forward to now, I am 28 years old and my sister and I own a house together.
We bought it last year and we live in a kind of shady area, but it's a nice house.
We have a huge kitchen addition on our house, but it is only one story tall and there is
a flat roof above it.
The roof leads up to the windows of my sister's bedroom and a shared bathroom.
We have three people living in the house.
My sister, myself, and my good friend.
We are all girls in our 20s.
One day we looked outside and on the roof, visible from the bathroom window, was a piece of fried chicken.
It was very odd and out of place and I made a mental note that we'd need to climb out the window
and grab it so that animals did not migrate to the roof.
We had recently had a party and chicken was served, so I figured some asshole threw their piece
on the roof, whatever.
The next day I go and look and it's gone.
Okay, weird, but maybe a bird took it.
A few weeks later, I notice there is another bone on the roof.
This time it's a hip bone of a larger animal.
Maybe a deer.
It's very odd, but I made a mental note to grab it off.
I didn't have time at the time and the next day when I went to, it was gone.
I found it in the yard when I went to rake up some leaves that were left over after the winter.
Weird again, but whatever.
So it got really weird today.
I went into the bathroom and there was a large jug of fruit punch sitting on the roof of the addition.
The weirdest part is it's not full of fruit punch.
It appears to be pee.
It is also open, so if it were thrown onto the roof, I would assume that physics would cause the pee to fall out of it.
And the pee is very much still in it.
I took a picture.
There's a picture of the pee in what appears to be like a gallon jug.
Yeah.
I don't have a picture of other things, but I am being as truthful as I possibly can about them.
Not sure if I should try to set up a camera to see if someone is hanging out with me.
Not sure if I'm just paranoid about it because of former events in my life.
Any advice would be welcome.
I have a small camera that I could possibly try to set up, but it is not waterproof and I'm not sure how good the night vision works on it.
It is a dashboard cam slash nanny cam, and I bought it to set up in my room because of the area we live in.
What do we think is going on?
Well, again, another thing where someone had something in their childhood and then they see it later.
Yeah.
Yeah, I mean, that's interesting.
I mean, look.
Like, if they live in a city, if they live in like an apartment, if they live on a house, like, it's not unbelievable to believe like people could be sneaking up and doing stuff.
They're like teenagers.
Yeah, whatever.
It's always teenagers.
Like chicken and piss.
Chicken and piss.
Classic teenager.
I hear chicken and piss.
I go, where's the teens?
Yeah.
No, I've told the story that when I was living in East Hollywood, it was kind of a sketchy area, but like one day I was, I lived in the back house, and one day I just saw two figures walking by.
and it was just two teenagers walking.
They're just trying to hang, dude.
You got somewhere we can put our piss?
Truly, I was like, guys, come on.
We're still looking for a place to eat chicken and put our piss down.
old man Shane
in the back
but it is like
a lot of effort
it's like yeah
what are you doing
back here
stop pissing everywhere
okay
what's going on
what's going on
now with ring cameras
that shit
wouldn't be happening
ring cameras everywhere
but back in 2015
it's scary times
you didn't know
you think ghosts
adjusted the way
they moved
ever since rings
yeah
yeah
they've had to shift
yeah they're like
we can't be
we can't actually
show ourselves
now it's just sounds
probably
at first
- Just with the bones and the everything,
I was like, ah, it could be animals.
- Yeah, I thought so too.
- Animals, like they really be getting everywhere.
- The hip bone.
- I mean--
- The hip bone.
- The hip bone is wild.
- A big--
- Deer's, they pitch deer, deer hip bones gotta be what?
- They're pretty big.
I mean, I will say like--
- Like a disco ball?
- Yeah, disco ball.
- In Colorado, like hiking around,
to find just like big bones all over the place.
- Yeah.
- 'Cause they don't like animals.
- How big, and please use the dance floor metric.
- How big are the bones?
- How big are the bones, and use the dance floor, please.
- Like a tequila soda.
- Or you're like, okay, use gay metric.
- Yeah, that's what I'm saying.
Really gay, the tequila, the football.
- Oh, yeah.
- You can use straight metrics.
- Yeah, you have gay friends, you can do it.
- Hot dog?
- Like, I don't, I'm just trying, you don't.
- I'm just trying to hang.
- You don't know what a deer's leg looks like?
Like, is it Bambi?
- Are we talking Gaga in the Bad Romance video?
Like, what are we talking about?
- What do you guys think?
- Yeah.
- They're on the zip line right now.
- Yeah.
- Having too much fun.
- Okay, there's one comment, and they said,
"Set up a camera, or an old phone will do the trick.
"I'm thinking raccoons.
"If there's somebody chilling on your roof,
"eating meat and peeing in milk jugs,
"you definitely want to know."
- Yeah.
- Yeah.
- My favorite was them going,
"There was chicken, but we did throw a chicken party."
- We did throw a chicken party.
Raccoons will do everything.
- Oh, really?
- Oh, my God.
- Jump and stuff?
- Well, yeah, and they, you know,
they can grab and hold things.
Like, they, oh, boy.
One time, I was up in, like, NorCal,
and we were staying in an Airbnb,
and there was a fridge, a mini fridge, in the back porch.
And we put a bunch of stuff in there,
and it kind of had, like, a bit of a lock,
and we kind of fastened that, whatever.
And then, in the night, there was a big, crazy rainstorm.
And so, tons of noise and stuff.
But the next morning,
the fridge had been managed to be opened,
and stuff was everywhere.
And we had an entire 12 carton of eggs fully empty.
A giant bag of shredded cheese, fully empty.
And we were like, some raccoon is out there,
just like, "Ohh!"
- Wow.
Do you think the raccoon was like,
"Oh, damn, fucking lock.
"Okay, one, one, one, one."
- Yeah.
- No, one, one, one, two.
- Knew the code.
The animals are, they got finessed,
because I've told the story about, like,
the bear that came up to the camp of my brother and I's,
and he was, like, trying to flip open the door handles
on the car. - Yeah, yeah, yeah.
- Really?
- Like, they're good.
They're good at stuff.
- Dude, this is a nice car.
- They're like, "Whoa, okay."
- I just want to see the interior.
- They're like, "Oh, shoot, face ID."
- Yeah.
- My parents live in Colorado,
and they have a ring camera thing on their outside,
and there's constantly bears, and mountain lions,
and, like, bobcats, and all sorts of shit
that's all over the place. - Wow.
- Update.
- Let's go, let's go!
- Okay, this comes from 12 Days Later.
So, what are our final guesses?
- Teenagers.
- Teenager?
- Um, I'm gonna say, um, uh, uh, uh, person.
- You say person. - Yeah.
- Just keep it general.
My, my thoughts are animal, or she's sleepwalking.
- And she's pissing upstairs?
- Whoa! - Pissing upstairs.
Hey, I don't know, 'cause it happened as a child.
- And then, but she was seeing stuff,
but, like, I just think if stuff's being,
maybe she's going outside.
- If that's it, then you get to decide
what I'm gonna be for Halloween this year.
- Okay. - That's fine.
- All right.
Okay.
- Wait, can you decide right now
what you're gonna make her do?
- You're being Olaf.
You are being Olaf.
You are one of--
- Only if she's doing this.
- Get ready to be Olaf.
- I don't think OP's sleepwalking.
- Okay.
Today, my roommate was showering,
and she heard something on the roof.
She got out of the shower, and as she did,
she saw a face staring directly at her through the screen of the window.
She looked and saw this little guy.
- Aw, little raccoon.
- It is a raccoon.
So I'm technically right, I said animal.
- I'm talking about--
- Get ready, get ready, Olaf.
- I think that would actually ruin my life.
I don't think anybody would date me ever again.
- Aw.
- Wait, that's so cute.
- So it's a raccoon. - Raccoons are kinda cute.
- They're really cute.
- Yeah.
- I don't know.
- Pogona.
- Yes.
- And the shit that animals get up to,
like, we underestimate them constantly.
- Yeah, the secret life.
- The secret life, so cute.
- So she was able to catch a pic before he scampered away.
We just added extra lights to the bathroom,
which I think was the reason we never saw him before.
I guess my past had me thinking the worst.
The container was probably just filled
with gross garbage juice and not pee,
since raccoons sometimes get into the garbage around here.
- I was also gonna say,
is there a place you could bring that to test the piss?
- So you're saying, theoretically,
that if you ever came across a jug of piss--
- Like a Quest Diagnostics.
- You would be like, "Hey, you know what?"
- Angela goes to Quest Diagnostics.
- And they go, "Hey, Angela, good news, it's piss."
- No, I bring it and I go,
"You bring it to some animal?"
There's gotta be some fuck on the internet
that's like, "I'll let you know what kind of piss it is."
- Oh, you wanna determine what--
- The problem is these raccoons probably found
this jug of piss somewhere and carried it.
- And just brought it, yeah.
- And they can carry, they can hold things, yeah.
- They're like, "We have this nice bottle of pinot,
"let's bring it over for the deer."
- You look out and it's like a Lady and the Tramp-style
dinner set up with two raccoons and it's like,
and we have the piss and it is aged.
All right, okay, time for our next story.
This next one comes from Am I the Asshole?
It was posted in September of 2020.
Am I the asshole for being mad that my husband
let us buy a possibly haunted house?
Okay, so a question for you, Eli.
- Yes.
- You're a skeptical person like I am,
but if you went to, you're looking at a nice apartment
or something, and you're like,
"God, this is a perfect apartment,"
but then the landowner's like,
"Hey, just so you know--"
- It's haunted.
- "There's been reports of ghosts.
"People say it's haunted.
"How are you feeling about that?"
- Is it a really good deal?
- Yeah.
- I'm signing on the dot.
- 'Cause you know what?
- Even if they were like, "Somebody was murdered here."
- Really?
- For the right price, baby, I'm signing.
- Sleep arousing it away.
- Yeah.
- Control your body.
Tell yourself it's fine.
- It's fine.
- But also, you get a good apartment out of it,
and you get a podcast.
- Oh my God, yes.
Yes.
Ghost hunting reality shows.
- There you go.
- Charge 'em a pretty penny.
- Yeah.
- All they hear is, "Banana."
- Oh, it's got a ghost minion.
A minion was murdered here.
So this OP, their husband bought a possibly haunted house.
- Okay.
- We're in our early 30s with kids.
We decided to sell our home and upgrade to a bigger one.
We were looking for houses for a couple months
and finding it frustrating,
got outbid on one we really liked.
Then my husband told me his coworker was selling his house
and thought we might be interested.
Me and my husband went over for dinner,
had a good time, and got a good look at the house.
It met everything we were looking for.
We decided to go forward and enter negotiations
about buying the house and moved in in July.
Living in the house has been nice so far.
However, I recently ran
to the coworker's wife at the supermarket
and we were chatting about the house.
I mentioned how I'm starting to decorate for the fall
and she said the spooky decorations
will make the ghosts feel at home and laughed.
I was very confused and asked her what she meant
and she seemed equally confused.
She said she and the kids had weird experiences,
bad nightmares, doors slamming, other weird noises,
creepy auras in the house
and that they thought it was haunted.
She assumed my husband had mentioned that to me
and we were on the same page that we didn't care.
Well, we were not on the same page.
My husband never told me.
For background, my husband is a very skeptical
and rational man.
I confronted him and he said he didn't tell me
because one, his coworker said he'd never experienced
anything so it was just the wife and kids.
Two, he knew I would get irrational and be scared
even though the house is perfect for us.
Three, ghosts are not real anyway.
He insisted that he did not withhold information
about the house itself.
It was just irrelevant information
about the coworker's family and their beliefs.
I am infuriated that he let us buy this house
without telling me.
I now feel scared in my own home.
I don't feel safe here at night anymore
and every noise puts me on edge.
I have been looking for a sale on cameras
so we can record inside the house
and see if we can identify if any spirits are visiting.
I also told our children about it
so they can be safe and aware,
but my husband is mad at me because they're scared now too.
I am hoping that the previous family
was either hallucinating, but both the wife and kids
or that the spirits traveled with them to their new house.
I'm not sure why.
I'm not sure what I will do if they are actually here.
My husband is not being very considerate of my fears
and just keeps insisting ghosts are not real.
He says I have no right to be mad
and throw our family into turmoil over this.
I know what he believes, but it's not what I believe,
and he put us into this situation.
Am I the asshole?
So based on the story, all she's saying is she just,
she's upset that he didn't tell her this.
Which I think is, my immediate interpretation is
that seems fair, that's just like hey,
we should be on the same page, you're buying a house.
If someone mentions something crazy
about their experiences there.
And it's both of your money, is what I'm assuming.
Yeah, like I don't know the details of them,
but I'm like yeah, you're married,
you're buying a house together.
It's your kids.
That is your combined choice and thing.
I think it's like, it feels a little like oh,
he's going oh, well you were gonna overreact if I told you.
It's like hey, well, that's important.
It's not up to you, yeah.
Yeah.
Even though I'm a skeptic, he should have told her.
Yeah.
Or also just judging the way she's gonna react
before it even happens is tough.
Like being like I don't, yeah, I'm excited about this house,
so I don't want to tell you this, but I should.
Yeah, I do think her immediately telling the kids,
I'm like well, what are you expecting out of this?
Yeah, don't tell the kids.
Like don't tell the kids.
Don't tell the kids.
Like you are the authority figure.
I don't know how old your kids are,
but it's like you're gonna freak them the fuck out.
Truly.
They're in their early 30s, can't be too old.
Yeah, you're telling your small children
like there's ghosts in this house.
Like, yeah, you just bought the house.
You can't do anything.
You're stuck here now.
Yeah, kind of not
Be mad at your husband.
Yeah, be mad at him, but don't tell the kids.
Don't tell the kids.
And don't tell, like, in a freaky way.
Like, if those things happen. She turns off all the lights.
She's like, kids, I have to tell you something.
Turns on a lamp underneath her house.
Yeah, it's like, okay, cool.
You ruined their life now.
Yeah.
It's like, if I truly, like, I'm hearing this,
it's like, okay, rule out everything.
Definitely get the house checked for carbon monoxide
and stuff like that.
Because that's a possible thing.
I mean, and then it's just like, okay, but the wife. It's not like, oh, we got, like,
one of us woke up with bruises on our face.
It's like, oh, we were just having bad nightmares and stuff.
It's like, that sucks.
I would have liked to. The previous family is just carbon monoxide poisoning.
They're like, yeah, we've just been lightheaded.
We've just been spooked.
Hey, it comes up a lot in Reddit stories of, like, creepy shit.
And then it's like, actually, it was carbon monoxide.
Hilarious.
Or something like that.
Or a tumor or something like that.
Oh, that's sad.
But you got to rule out all that stuff.
Yeah.
As a skeptic, I'm like,
you need to rule things out.
I think she's an asshole for telling the kids.
So it is, to me, you're the asshole for that.
Yeah.
But I think the husband's also an asshole for not telling her.
Yeah, I bet she's reacting
because she felt like something was hidden from her.
So she's, like, rushing to tell the kids,
which is not the move.
But, yeah, it's like,
you need to work together to buy a house.
You also need to work together on how you talk to your kids.
You're going to lie to them about Santa Claus?
And then you're going to tell them. Tell them about this.
I really hope that these kids break the asshole cycle
because being raised by two. By two assholes might be. What do you get?
An asshole.
An asshole.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That's like an old adage.
It's an old adage, right?
Oh, interesting.
Okay.
That's a good point of view.
That's fascinating.
Shakespeare.
Wow.
So the verdict is asshole.
And I think it might be for the same reasons we're saying.
Yeah.
Comments, you're the asshole.
You told your children?
Yeah.
Why?
So that they can be scared and paranoid as well?
Yeah.
You haven't experienced anything
and wouldn't have known the difference
had the former owner not said something.
Your husband did nothing wrong
but needlessly traumatized
and traumatizing children is very wrong.
Yeah, I agree.
And it's kind of like, okay, well, yeah,
you are probably more likely to experience stuff
if you believe it's happening.
Yes.
Especially if you have a kid's imagination.
Oh, my God, dude.
Someone said, what?
But I kind of like this story, so what the hell?
You're the asshole.
Even if you prescribe to the belief of spirits,
and I'm not knocking you for that,
there was no reason to purposefully frighten the children.
So you're the asshole just for that.
Also, where are you buying these special cameras
that will catch spirits?
Because if those existed,
then there'd be a whole lot of things
the world could settle on.
Lastly, someone said, you're the asshole
if you haven't noticed any supernatural phenomena,
then why do you assume the place is haunted?
Get over it or hire an exorcist.
Cool.
This also has me thinking, though, like. I'm looking for someone to test my piss.
Sorry.
Quest diagnostics.
So, piss tester.
And now I need an exorcist?
Ha ha ha.
Ha ha ha.
Outside of the you're the asshole debate,
it seems like the husband didn't tell his wife,
but, like, he clearly knows how his wife feels about. Like, I'm like, you are a rational, skeptical person,
and she is a full-on paranoid believer.
Which gives us insight into why he hid it from her.
I still don't think it's okay.
But also, that's stuff that, like, you need to, like. You guys need to communicate and figure those levels out.
Yeah.
And you have to. Like, you have to. You shouldn't be hiding things from each other,
and you should be communicating what you tell your children.
Yes.
Yeah.
And being okay with that.
Because also, like. And I think about this with friends and relationships and stuff.
It's like, I might be a skeptic, but I also. If you're in a relationship, you need to respect what your partner believes.
Their beliefs.
Like, you need to be on some sort of same page.
That's true.
Because if you operate on a basis of, like,
my fucking partner's stupid and what she believes is wrong,
it's like, well, that's not a healthy. Clip that.
That's true, too. place to be.
He said that.
Clip that.
Clip that.
That's hilarious.
Clip that.
That's really funny.
He said that.
That was hilarious.
Clip that.
That's really funny.
But, like, you need to have respect for each other.
You need to, like. You don't have to agree on everything,
but you need to acknowledge that both of your standings on things are. Yeah. are of equal value.
So him just going on a place of, like, well, I'm not going to tell her.
It's like, I also am a believer of, like, things are going to be found out.
Yes.
Like, it's going to, like. Truly.
I mean, how would the husband feel if she and the kids start to be like,
we're having crazy shit?
And he's like. And you hid that from her.
Oh, shit.
Now she's finding it out the hard way.
Yeah.
I often say, like, and this is the same for Eli, like, as a skeptic,
if we ever go do, like, a haunted vlog or, like, go to a haunted house,
if Eli and I are scared, then you know you should freak the fuck out.
Yeah.
True.
If I walk into a room and I'm just like, hey, we should go.
Yeah.
Like, we need to fucking go.
Oh, yeah.
Our next story comes from the subreddit Ghost Stories,
and it was posted in 2020.
My daughter's imaginary friend.
That was always spooky.
Okay.
Did you have imaginary friends?
No.
I didn't have an imaginary friend.
No.
No.
Fuck that.
Kind of a literal person.
I had, like, real friends, you know.
Yeah, like, I, like, had intentional conversations.
I was, like, so popular in preschool.
Like, I was, like, learning about other people's cultures
and breaking down those barriers at, like, a young age.
I was, like, educating myself.
Like, I was sitting down and listening.
Yeah.
Anyways.
I was, like, helping my mom out with bills.
In 2013, my wife and I divorced,
and we both moved into Seattle.
We moved into separate homes.
The divorce went well,
and we are still good friends to this day,
partly because we have a daughter together.
We agreed to split custody over our daughter,
and I rented an old house in a historic district
in the city where we live.
It was a very pretty home, built in 1935,
but kept up very well.
I would have my daughter two weeks at a time,
and she had a bedroom in the back of the house.
She was three years old at the time,
and I kept noticing her talking to her friend.
One day, I found her in a little closet
talking to someone,
and I remember her saying
she was talking to another little girl named Betty.
I have no idea where she heard the name Betty
as she was only three years old,
but I just chalked it up
all to a child's vivid imagination.
Keep in mind, I'm a single dad to a little girl.
I really have no idea what I'm doing
when it comes to dressing, hair,
or just little girl stuff in general.
Her mother is good at that stuff, but not me.
I put my daughter to bed one night after her bath.
I remember brushing her hair that night,
but that was all I did.
The very next morning,
her mom came to pick her up from my house,
and my daughter was just waking up.
Her mom went back to her bedroom
to find my daughter's hair,
and her hair was fixed in two perfect French braids.
What?
Her mom was really proud of me at first
that I had done her hair so cute,
but I told her I didn't and couldn't do that.
I can't even braid her hair,
much less do perfect French braids.
We asked our daughter how her hair got fixed,
and she told us that Betty had done it during the night.
No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
I broke the contract on the rental agreement
and moved out within the next month.
You said the spooky one was the whistle?
What about the girl getting her hair braided by Betty?
Betty, the ghost!
A ghost salon artist, or a ghost, what is it?
A ghost hairstylist.
A hairstylist.
Salon artist.
Yeah, salon artist.
I don't fucking know.
She's in front of a mirror,
and all of a sudden this ghost is just like,
okay, so what are we doing?
Okay, honey.
I'm going to tell you now,
the gum you put in your hair last week
did a number in your hair,
but we're going to fix it.
Girl, we're going to fix it.
Betty is just like judgy.
Yeah, yeah.
The most judgy ghost.
She's like, God,
I just brushed your hair and put you to bed.
God, it's hard.
Single dads are hard.
Let me do your hair.
Yeah, it's either this story is like a made-up story,
which is a very good story.
Or this three-year-old learned how to. If this is real.
Or this three either way.
Like, this is one of those stories that like,
I'm now only skeptical because it's the internet,
but like if you told me this story,
and I trust you and believe you,
like I would be like. Do we get that?
I don't know what to think.
Like if someone had that real story,
I'd be like, I have no explanation.
I'm like, maybe she's a hair savant.
That'd be really funny.
She just casually just did that.
Can you do French braids to yourself?
If you're really good.
This is a three-year-old.
Now, what's a French braid?
It is. You want it in straight terms or gay terms?
Can you give me some gay terms?
Yeah, so it's just a braid.
Normal, I don't know how to say it.
It's just a braid that is. You asked for gay or straight,
and you didn't know either.
Yeah.
It's actually kind of hard to describe.
You can have like a free-form braid
that just like lives on its own,
or you can braid. You can braid with small bits of your hair,
so then it's on your head.
Yeah, it's tight.
I should have said Elsa.
It's an artisan braid.
It's a nice braid.
That's why if I. If this little girl woke up with French braids,
I would be shitting myself.
Yeah, wow.
Betty.
Betty.
Or if anything, I'd be like,
Betty, you can do this.
Can you just watch her for a minute?
Betty can do that.
Betty, can you do this again?
Free childcare.
Yeah, free childcare, honey.
Oh, Betty.
That house is paid for.
That apartment's paid for itself.
Yeah, you leave. Free childcare.
He leaves, he goes,
and Betty, don't wash the dishes.
Yeah, that would terrify me.
I would hate. That would be so scary.
It would really suck if you did the laundry, Betty.
Fuck, Betty.
Comments.
Why would you move?
You had an in-house hairdresser.
Hilarious.
We beat you to it.
Yeah, we're improvisers.
OP replied,
she was good, just not reliable, LOL.
Someone said,
I feel a little bad for Betty,
but bet she was happy to have a friend
probably near her age.
Depending on the French braid she did,
she was probably 10 to 13 years old,
spooky, but sounds like a very benevolent spirit.
Yeah.
Lastly, someone said,
yikes, any chance that a human got inside your place?
That is really creepy.
Wishing for the best for you
and your daughter in your new place.
OP said,
that had crossed my mind,
but I really don't see how they could.
That house was pretty secure,
and the alarm always made noises
when the door opened and shut.
No update?
No update.
No, no, no, no, no, no.
Can we. I've never asked this before on a Reddit story.
Can we message them?
Wait, wait, it was 2020?
Okay, so it's six years from now.
2020 could be. they could be around.
- 'Cause maybe she's now in, she's a brilliant braider.
12-year-old, and we could ask her what actually went down.
Yeah, she's up to it.
You know, though, I mean, this is even more extreme,
but the ghost stories that I've heard a lot of people talk about
that I do, that I'm like, okay, like, I hear it,
is, like, I knew someone who lived in an old apartment complex
in Venice Beach, and that a lot of the people
in the apartment complex had stories about, like,
you know, I forget what the ghost's name was.
They're like, oh, that's Bob.
And it's just like, oh, you might walk into a room
or wake up in the middle of the night,
and he might be just sitting at the end of the bed.
And it's just like, it's not, but he's not, like, looking at you.
He's just kind of, like, there.
Yeah.
Like, there's just a person that's there.
And I'm like, yeah, like, that's believable,
because, like, it's just a ghost.
It's not, like, you know, attacking you or doing things.
It's just, like, it's a spirit, you know?
Doing a little kid's hair, I don't know why that spooked me.
It's so physical, right?
Like, that's the thing, is, like, ghosts interacting
with the physical world in such an intricate way.
Anything with children and ghosts is awesome.
Yeah, yeah.
Like, I liked her having an imaginary friend.
I was like, oh, get it, girl.
Your parents are going through a divorce.
That's hard.
Yeah.
Then the imaginary friend laid a hand on her.
Yeah.
A French braid.
You'd have to get in there.
She'd have to sit up.
Yeah, have you, like, played with a little girl's hair?
I'm sure that's, like, a mess.
I'm sure they're like, no!
Don't.
We didn't ask you.
Stop it.
Okay, are you ready for our final little story?
Yeah.
A little tiny, tiny ending here.
This comes from Confessions,
from back in 2022.
I braided a little girl's hair.
Go to someone's house.
I have a spooky confession.
They write,
I was always the girl at sleepovers
who subtly moved the Ouija planchette around the board.
Your dead grandma was me, Sarah.
I hope you found some closure.
Oh, wow.
Wow.
Is she an evil CEO now?
Probably.
We did a thing recently.
Won't say much about it,
but at one point we were asked
if we were willing to, like,
touch a Ouija board and play with it.
Everyone said no.
I'm the only one that said I would be willing.
Eli was the only one on the cast.
I'm like, I'll play with it.
And see, here's the thing.
I'm not gonna do it with you
because I don't trust you with the Ouija board.
I know you're gonna fuck that shit up.
And if that gives you a context clue
of what that was that we were filming,
there you go.
Because he didn't trust you.
He trusts the Ouija board, but not you.
But not me.
I trust Eli in a general life sense,
but when it comes to any form of storytelling,
if we're filming a video,
you care about entertainment value too much.
Then I'm like, I do not trust what's happening.
That is who you serve in that moment.
Yeah.
We care.
You're like,
I don't know.
Banana.
Banana.
Comment, someone said,
how did you hold in your laughter?
OP said, I took it deadly seriously.
LOL, not surprisingly,
I love to read people's tarot cards
for the same reason.
Okay, so.
Okay, hey.
That's a little fucked up.
Come on, that's a little disrespectful.
There is a video.
Have you guys seen the video?
I think it was a live stream,
but there's this old website
that like fucks with people
called peteranswers.com
and it's like this funny, stupid little prank.
And I fucked with Tommy and Amanda
so deeply on a live stream.
They were so scared.
It was like one of the best ones of my life.
That's fine.
Just remembering that video
so I can get some more eyes on it.
Yeah.
Who is the easiest,
who is the most scaredy person in the cast?
You guys have been here a long time.
I'd say Amanda.
I think Amanda's a full on like.
She's scaredy.
She will like,
paint the picture in her mind is the thing.
And that's why I'm a skeptic
is because I'm like,
I don't want to believe like,
if something,
if a noise happens in this room right now,
my brain doesn't go,
there's a spirit of a person in here.
I go, there was a noise.
Yeah.
What that was.
I thought you were going to say
because you can't imagine anything.
But Amanda,
Amanda I think will be like,
that's,
there's probably,
there could be a person in like.
I used to do this to her
and you should do it to her now.
I like,
anytime I'm like with her,
I'll go.
Really?
Oh, that's going to be fun as hell.
I used to do it all the time to her.
Holy shit.
Someone said,
that's just blasphemous.
And then finally someone said,
I always wondered how this game works out
if nobody knows that one of you
has to secretly move it
or if multiple know
and try for different responses
at the same time.
Yeah.
I still don't mess with them.
My thing,
as I've said many times,
is like,
I don't actively believe in demons
or curses or things,
but I'm also going to hedge my bets.
I'm not,
I'm not trying to engage with that.
Yeah.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I might be wrong.
Yeah.
And so,
I don't want to find out that way.
I don't want to wake up with my hair.
For me,
anything made by Hasbro,
I'm like,
I'll fuck with it.
Anyways,
that is it for our spooky stories.
These were really good.
These were really fun.
This was a great time.
Thank you for joining me,
Devil and Angel.
Thank you,
Reddit guy.
Does he have a name?
The Reddit?
He maybe does have a name.
I just know little Reddit guy.
Little Reddit guy.
The Reddit alien?
You're the main guy.
You're the actual devil,
but I'm just like,
a side character up above.
I'm just an angel,
but you're like the main guy down there.
What do you mean?
You're the devil,
so the main guy in hell.
Oh,
and you're an angel.
I'm just an angel.
You're not God.
I'm just a helper.
I'm not God.
I found out my name is Snoo.
What the heck?
Snoo?
Snoo?
Hey guys,
get your pancakes out.
Snoo's here.
Snoo's here.
Anyways,
thank you both for joining.
Thanks for having us.
Guys,
be safe out there.
Have a good Halloween.
Yeah,
happy Halloween,
and hey,
we'll see you next Saturday.
Yeah.
Bye.
Say goodbye.
It's so disrespectful.
I heard that 10 years ago.
We're not fucking with this.
I ain't fucking with that.
Oh my God.
Wait,
what is that?
Explain it in a gay way.
