Spittin' Chiclets Episode 679: Featuring Elliotte Friedman

The podcast blends promotional content for Ryobi’s outdoor power tools—highlighting its 40-volt battery system and availability at Home Depot—with a lively, humorous discussion on everyday events like trick-or-treating and internet pranks. A central narrative explores whether a mysterious fan named Tony S. Cargo is behind a series of canoli deliveries, sparking speculation about trolling or inside jokes. The discussion shifts to major NHL news, notably the trade of Connor Hellebuck to the New Jersey Devils, which the hosts view as a strategic move to strengthen the team’s defensive performance. They emphasize Hellebuck’s suitability due to his exceptional performance in low-shot situations, aligning with the Devils’ tendency to dominate but struggle with finishing chances. The hosts also highlight the rarity of brother pairs playing together in the NHL, noting seven such pairs currently active and praising the emotional and competitive excitement this creates. Throughout, the tone remains upbeat and engaging, mixing sports analysis, personal stories, and playful banter, ultimately celebrating both the product and the community of fans. The episode ends with a nod to the importance of sportsmanship, referencing the high road approach taken by players and teams after controversial events.

I brought it toward the coyotes and I asked him if it was okay if I joined the spit checkered podcast full time. A little bit annoying. Ryan Whitney's got a pink Whitney out there now. He's a full-time member. Marley just got this. It's from Chris Bate. Whoa, what is in right now? Small. Welcome everyone to episode 679 of the spit checkered podcast. Biz with the pinkies up, but I got the Reese's the plate of not gold. Just love just candy. Just the number one chocolate in the world. Reese's, but I'm just looking and thinking about Reese's are shows main presented sponsor. Just blessed to have Reese's sponsoring us around Halloween time. Actually, it doesn't even matter. You think I'm hot now for Reese's because it's Halloween time. No, no, no, no. Wait till those friggin Christmas Reese's peanut butter cups come out and I'm just buzzing. Yeah, they got special ones for everything. Everything, everything. Every single thing you can imagine. What do they look different? Like what do you mean? They look like a Christmas tree. They look like a mini Christmas tree. Well, why are we talking Christmas because I'm doing the pumpkins now. I'm crushed to pumpkins, Reese's. And we love Reese's and I I always got to shout out the Reese's pieces because those things are coated as well, but the peanut butter cups are the big dogs and this Saturday, October 31st, kids are going to be ham and Reese's all over North America. So everyone have a wonderful week and we're going to have a wonderful show all because of Reese's when do you guys? You probably don't do the trick or treating with the kids anymore. What's the schedule like bringing the kids around? Like how does that go? We go to a neighbor's house around I'd say like five-ish, four-thirty-ish and they have their garage with pizza and all this food and drinks and there's always yellow shots pre-make. She loves making yellow shots. It's all the yellow. It's all the trashy trashy move. But sometimes we like being trashy people and everyone else. Now the thing is you got the yellow shots for the kids and the trays next to it for the adults. You got to read the sign. I was actually have a little block party get together thing on what night was that Saturday and I witnessed like a six-year-old kid go and start filling up his drink, but it was an adult's only drink with a giant sign. No, this kid couldn't read. So I was there. I was the savior. Whoa, whoa, whoa, but let me get you to drink with me instead. Let me get your pink with you. Don't have that stuff, but it was it was a great week and how and then we hit the you know, then we hit the neighborhood and this year's awesome because cows cows buzzing around. So cows ready to rip. He's got his lightning McQueen costume. Um, I'll be like who's lightning McQueen? Oh my god. From cars, not a dad. The movie cars number 95 Roger McQueen drafted by the Anaheim ducks then chose to win over 95 and then was at Disney World after he got picked lightning McQueen. Dine a kid out of here. It's bait that there's a as a character in the in the movie cars. It's based off an old hockey player. No Roger McQueen's a new pick. Uh, he was picked about it two years ago. Uh, the movie's about 15 years old. There's been three of them. Number two stinks. Number one and number three are incredible. Some girl takes over and three as like trainers takes over wins the race. He there he has. There he is. There he is. And the guy and and like this guy, he loses his game, dude. He loses his game and then he finds his game in one of the episodes later. It's just all time movie. So cows lightning McQueen. And I might be a giant lightning McQueen for all we know. So is he where he wears the big car on him? No, the car that he carries is the trick or treating bag. Oh, okay. Nice. So yeah, we're dialed. We're dialed. Okay. What are the other two wearing riders? The manager for Team USA baseball team from the world baseball classical player. Why it's a player? I think why it's Paul schemes? Why don't you get in on that? I'm going with Cal. Okay. He likes me more than the other two as of right now. So I'm gonna stick with hanging with Cal as a race car driver. Has the dog warmed up to you? Yeah. Yo, she's all right with me. You know, we're hot and cold, but he just obsessed with everyone else in the family. So that's I won't we're probably going to get a second dog because I want a dog that really likes me and I would be rattled if my dog was like treating me like a piece of shit. Now what do you say, buddy? I check online every day. People hate me everywhere. If a dog hates me too, I really don't care. I'm living my life. I'm trying my hardest and I'm doing what I can for my family. He's a flyers fan. I'm getting meech dog. The meech dog. The meech god. He I'm on I'm on your business. He's getting forward to this year. He might have nine assists, but he's getting forward. There will be no more meech god slander on this podcast. Zero. So I will I will I will say this. I got word from a fanatic guy. I think that's the man too. He's like, Hey, we have these hometown classic jerseys coming out. Whatever you want. Let me know. And I I have to answer back and let them know because obviously go Edmonton maybe pick another one or two. And then we had the group chat get notified today. I knew before you guys suck on that that we were getting whatever we wanted and biz flyers fans. I'll tell you biz said. I'm a horde every team in this league and the only jersey I want is a Matt Bay Beach golf hometown classic jersey. So you are on the bandwagon. He's been on it though. Well, I think I think that I might have been brainwashed slash drug from that canoli that was sent to my house. Now my understanding buddy is Tony S Cargo also found your address now. And he sent you can always after his two goal performance. What's he at eight or nine goals now? I'm sitting around and that game ends and I get a text from Grubhub. Your order is being prepared. 36 to 52 minutes. I'm like, what the fuck? I go to my Grubhub. I had an order and anything. I go to my Grubhub. There's no order. So I call Molenaris, which is an awesome Italian place nearby. And I said, Hey, listen, this is kind of weird, but I just got a text from Grubhub. Is there an order for me like did somebody order something under Ryan Whitney or my phone number? And she's like, No, that's really weird. I'd get my credit card off that app right away. I'm like, now I'm like, Oh God, like here we go. I got hacked or something. I get a call back from Molenaris. She's like, So this is kind of weird, but we do have an order for a canoli that was made by a guy Tony Eastcar God. And I'm like, this motherfucker, this absolute lunatic found my address and he's hitting me up. He has to work for the FBI. This guy or something. What if it's an inside job, though, what if it's? I want to know he wrote wit. Welcome to the Mechkov fan club. Love and peace. Tony S. Cargo. Why is his name not Tony canoli? And why is he not sending S. Cargo if he's named Tony S. So here's what's even weirder. So he started like follow me and going after us, obviously, but he does it in like a very kind way as a great guy sent me a canoli. My dad ate it. I'm like, I don't know if you want to eat that thing, but he's yeah, he's almost like it's okay. We'll turn you eventually like kind of that type of attitude. So he's a rare flyers breed. Now he started sending me DMs. He's always going with the Shrek DMs. He's got these different Shrek images. Now I said that to the group chat. Can you put them up on the screen to some of the stuff that he sent me. He sent me a weird one that was like Shrek as Barry. The guy who died with the huge long that everybody would. The guy with the huge cock during COVID where you would get like, hey, have you seen this? And you'd open a picture and it would be Barry's cock right in your face. Yeah. But Shrek. Yeah. Um, Black Shrek. We had a hammer, though. What was weird though is last year around playoff time. He'd like, maybe like when they got eliminated, he disappeared. Like the account was frozen where if you went to look for Tony S Cargo, it was gone. Oh, that's a glass banger special. He was in prison for sure. For sure. He was locked up for a couple or he was concerned. And I love it. Or he was concerned. Maybe we were doing some digging to try to get like the IP address to see where this was actually coming from. Cause I agree with you. And like, I think this does a strong Possibility this could be like one of our buddies fucking with us us. Do you not agree with it? Buddy, he knew me. I think I know it is. I think it might be teeth. No, no, no, it's for the God. I think I do. I swear on your dogs. I swear on my dogs. I would not send you can always and if they I'd send them from a different place, like a shitty place, I would get you shitty can always. I was like, this guy's a man. I was like, how does he know? That's where if I have a cannoli, that's where I like this is what he's sending me after me. God's getting points. He's thinking he's set him media. I was the top one trying to mimic me, like chirping me with my horrible fades. Have you guys ever gotten a DM or anything from him during a game? Oh, yeah, all the talk. Okay. So it's not talk. All right. Okay. So here's my other missions. Get us. I think potentially it could be Brian Boucher. That's one of my guesses. Jones. He fucks around a lot too. Keith Jones could be hammering us with the S. God. I agree. He's on the table. He's on the table. Who's a Shrek guy? It's a hey, are we going to worry about trades today? I could see. Jones love a Shrek pick cannoli's I think jazz, jazz or Jordy from bar stool or two other names. He gets some like private eye investigator to like go try to dig into the who the fuck sending us. We'll put memes on it. We'll put memes on the case. I was worried. I'll do a lot. I'll be on a great house. The next 49 hours. I'm in a visa looking for this guy Tony Escaroli. He's not here. But I'm going to stay a little bit. Oh, he's coming over. Yeah. No, exactly, exactly. I was a little worried when I first got it. That what was it, Van Wilder when they send over the jizz field, the jizz filled cannoli's from the dog. Oh, God. Do you guys not remember that scene? No, I don't. I don't know. Right before the guy goes and text takes his like SAT test, the guy has been fucking with Van Wilder. He was a piece of shit. It might have been. I do remember that. I do remember that. And then they jerked off the, the, the bowl dog. Yeah. He came in the cannoli's and the guy was just. I was looking at his fingers. Yeah, that's is. Did you eat the cannoli's that he sent? I ate both of them. Ask, ask cannoli's E questions later. That's where I'm at. Very true. That's a statement that could go on a T shirt. Why even question? My dad ate it before I could. But okay. So let me ask you this before we continue to decide whether we're going to send a private eye. Would you trade a late round first pick for the meets God? Good question. 1000%. Thank you. It takes a man to own a mistake. The guy is a sniper. Now, he's just stride a little choppy. Yes. We hang with McDavid. What? They could he hang with McDavid on the top line speed wise. I don't know. I think Jack Hughes recently mentioned me and Jesper need a guy that can really move. It was it was taken as a shot towards Mantha from some devils fans. But I would trade the 30 second overall pick from Matt Vayne Beachkov. And I made a mistake and I'm here to own it. So flyers fans while you guys remain not a great club. You have a sniper on your hands. So if you caught me on a kiddie night, I might go. Dry sidele with if they sent over a bacon baker's dozen of cannoli's, I might send dry sidele back the other way for each guy at this point. Okay. I don't think that would be good though. That would be like a Winnipeg deal. I'm not even going to I'm not even going to. I'm not even going to answer that. But I will say this a couple hours from now, everyone tune in. We can't give any spoilers, but the internet invetational begins last year. But today is today. I was despised by by many people from New Zealand after my attack on lukewarm. Um, this year I'm trying not to be the most hated man in YouTube golf again for somebody that didn't do anything, but we were there. We were present. Uh, very exciting few episodes coming up based on what we saw. Port Nois said this morning, the first episode, five hours long. Oh, that's a little crazy to hear. But I can't wait to everyone. The work put in by all of the guy like Jonesy at bars to all the editors, all the guys over a bob does incredible content last year. I think this year's going to be electric as well. So everyone go check it out. The whole four play editing crew as well. There's like, there's like 50 camera people there for the first couple days and obviously it dwindles down. But the amount of video these guys have to chop up afterwards. Like they must be crushing out of all just staring at their screen for fucking 24 hours at a time here. I feel like last year, it took, didn't it take like six months for it to come out. It took a while, right? No, I think it was around. I think it was November, but yeah, 64 people mic'd up. And now I guess that makes sense why the first day is a five hour episode based on like everyone still be involved in the tournament. So very excited. Can't give any spoilers away, but check that out. Oh, ho, ho, ho, some action from fishy here on the side. Dale Morningstar said that Tony S. Cargo could potentially be GM Joe. And for those of you who don't remember who GM Joe was or you're just new to the podcast, Witt, can you explain who this guy is? So GM Joe, that was a crazy day in the chicken story line. I believe we were in Del Rey or Lauderdale. And we had a big pink Whitney meet and greet where we were going to a bar for two to three hours. We were meeting with fans. We used to do a ton of those. And as pink Whitney was was a little newer and there was a guy that had reached out to us. No, he just showed up, man. He just showed up and we thought he worked at the bar and he's like, he's siphoning the line. He organized. There was the most organized it's ever been by. Yeah. Yeah. No shit. We should have hired him to that. We still can't get a car away from anything we do or a meal. Yeah. He had cars waiting for us. And then like right before we left, he quartered a few of us and was like, Hey, like I don't actually work here. I lied to you guys. I got with love a job with you guys. But the best part about it is he told, he told us he was the GM of the restaurant bar. But then he told the restaurant bar that he was like our GM. Yeah. So he was just playing everybody, organizing this thing. I still don't know how he's not like running our show right now. We had him on after and I think he kind of like, good guy. I think you might have like bombed a little bit when we had them on. I think our lawyers were a bit worried as well. Yeah. I think the lawyers knew that we could have a. Yeah. So so maybe he went straight to Tony S car go route and decided to send us canolies. But after we go on the Decathlon for the Stanley Cup final this year, should we maybe give him a second opportunity? Well, we might have a reservation somewhere if we do. I think he deserves a shot, man. You put that good of work in. And I mean, you guys are still talking about him. He needs a shot. Yeah. He was a good guy, man. He was just he was a cycle path. What a good guy. Biz, before we talk halibok and and fucking posh, I can't wait to talk to posh and go over this entire enormous trade that broke this weekend. You were at the heritage classic. Okay. Now the setting looked amazing, the crowd, the jerseys, everything look good. The game kind of was looking for a little more. So I was not there. I was actually in studio covering it. If you guys want to hear like what the festivities were like. Armdog wasn't attendance with sports net. You guys could check him on game notes with murals Wednesday. I believe at noon, but not the most. I guess it was exciting at the start. I felt like that shifly line. I didn't feel like they left the ice in the first period. They played seven and a half minutes. And that was two and a half minutes more than the next forward. So they were just ace of spades, ace of spades, ace of spades. So before the game had begun, the Winnipeg Jets had scored 26 goals this season, 17 by that top line. In that game last night, they had 35 shots, 17 of which came from that top line. After the first period or after the second period, they had 13 of the shots of the team on net. And like as you could see, they were fucking, they were buzzing. Like the problem with Winnipeg right now is that looks like it's the only line going. They're really missing the mess in the cob who's out of the lineup. And also like, I think Pionk's pretty solid offensively for a D man. But when more. It's a completely different story. So they're just like, they got no secondary offense right now. And yeah. And then outside of that, I thought, Montreal, the Fowler. Amazing. Let me read you some. Fowler's season right now. 5 1 and 0 924 save percentage 179 goals against. He stopped 53 of 55 shots. I'm back to back wins over the Jets in the Black Hawks this weekend. Just watching him move from somebody who knows nothing about goal tending. You remember how like like you always go back to comparisons and I know some people hate this. He wasn't overslighting. There was back door plays where he was reading it perfectly. Like carry price. Yeah. It makes it look easy like him to rebound control makes it look easy. I don't know who the fuck their goalie scout is in Montreal. But give him a goddamn raise because he had Montenbo playing in the four nations two years ago. You had Dolby's doing what he did last year. And now you got Fowler. They have a surplus of goal tending. I don't know what they're going to do with that. But I would imagine that's part of the carrot that they're doing. ♪ Dangling for Mr. Larkin ♪ - Even the goal that beat Fowler, the one-timer beat him like short side, he was there. I think it just snuck through him somehow. He made a couple saves like that where even on the power play, he's pushing all the way across and it's hitting him right in the chest. Like he, I don't know if he does a really good job of just like seeing the play almost like if he sees it happening or if he's just super athletic, where he can get over and make plays look as easy as they do. But he's got to have a good hockey IQ for the way that I see him read plays. - No doubt. And goalies have to be able to read the play. And it's funny that goalies who make these acrobatic and credible saves, that you've seen time to time. It's, and Halibuk's similar. He doesn't really have to. He doesn't usually do that. He kind of is just in perfect position. The playoff, Halibuk's storyline, incredible. Incredible storyline. But he is now in New Jersey, devil. And what's crazy is the tweet I saw that actually had me laugh. - Can we stroke off Dobson and Lane Hudson? And even Coffield as well, he had a hell of a game. Like getting trapped out there, like that first goal, the line for Winnipeg by the time the goal went in it, they were out there for like a minute and 40 seconds. Being hemmed in with a fresh Coffield, Lane Hudson and Dobson who are just like all over the place in the offensive zone, you're fucked. Like you might as well just go to the house and not even move and just have sticks and lanes and let them just pepper you from the outside. 'Cause they were running up and they kind of got out of position. And like to see a D, to see a D to D pass five feet from the goal line, like cross, like basic cross crease, it's not very common, you see that. - No, the one I think of most, and it wasn't as maybe as low as that instance of Dobson to Hudson for the goal in Winnipeg was, it was Zubov to Brian Leach and Game 7 of the Cup Final. I remember being 11 and like, whoa, that was D to D and they're not on the blue line. There's buzzing around the offensive zone. It is not common. But Hudson, he is, like just watching that guy play. It's so fun. He's one of the most fun players to watch in the league. And it's the turbo energy, like energizer bunny just hopping around everywhere. Doesn't seem to get tired. I just, much of all is a lot of fun to watch. - The one other thing I was gonna bring up before we moved on to Hella Buc was a coffee post game comments kind of trolling all of Canada a little bit. He said that's, he said something in the midst of like, that's why they were the most popular team in all of Canada. - Ooh. - It was like a fun little nugget right at the end of his interview, which I created a little bit of discussion online. But I don't know, I don't know what the exact quote was. Like maybe a G or a fish he can fish it out here. But yeah, it was, but I would agree because I think that there's so much animosity towards like Toronto and Edmonton, 'cause they're the most talked about. - He said best fans in the league, they travel very well. We might be Canada's favorite team. You can tell by tonight. - Whoa. Kind of love it. - Kind of love it. - 'Cause they were cheering at the dead. - It's not happy. - No, I was actually thinking of Saturday night and the disappointment in Edmonton. We're actually, Leon mentioned to the hockey night Canada's like a panel. Like anything for Toronto, we got to play it five o'clock out here because we got to play for Toronto to get the seven o'clock window. Did you have that? - Yeah, he goes, it pre-games like anything for Toronto. I didn't get my pre-game nap, but he still had two goals. But we got trounce. But the reason I was kind of shaking my head is thinking is that Toronto for a long time has owned Edmonton in their building. They crushed them in Edmonton. It was no different Saturday. We don't want to talk about that. Yeah, that was, let's go back to that after. Yeah, 'cause the doing chance, the fans have been incredible, especially north of the border so far this year. And we can talk about our little spaces. I love seeing you getting in the spaces, actually. That's my playoff thing. But no, the big news, the big news, Hellabuck, the drama, the saga is over. He is now a New Jersey devil. He was traded for Dawson Mercer, Nick Bugestad, Nico Dawes, Prospect, Alexander, Command. I think he's Swedish. I don't know if I'm saying that correctly. I think that right there is the main piece of the deal 'cause he was a really high pick this past summer. A 2029 second round pick and a 2027 seventh round pick to Winnipeg. Absolute master class by sunny. Yeah, master class. And very funny that he came on our show and to other media outlets kind of mentioned like the idea of paying big money to a goalie to him is a little off because of how volatile the position is. But he went with a guy who's consistently for 11 years now, Ben, one of the best goalies in the league every single season. So he went against a little bit of what he said funny enough when we had him on, Keith hit him right away with the hellabuck. He's like, I can't talk about that Keith. That would be considered tampering, but it ended up happening. And so we got to bring Pasha and this made me sick that now he has this guy. But I want to say it should be thanking me 'cause I want to say what? Very true. One thing I want to say before we start, I believe you're muted, Pasha. No, I'm ready for the devil for the devil, I want to say this. First off, congrats. Congratulations. You got your goalie. Thank you very much. You guys have been incredible at not giving up great a chance. It's like your analytics, your, your beaten off under the hood. Oh, I'm still talking, I'm still talking, I'm still talking. I'm still talking. They're amazing. Yet you still give up a lot of goals. And now you get hellabuck. All I want to say is, I think about 16 days from right now, or 16 days ago, maybe 18 days ago on the Saturday morning of Chiklet's Cup, I was sitting with Pasha, and we were talking about hellabuck and just NHL, it was an NHL hot stuff. And I said, man, imagine if the devil's get him in exact words, he goes, I want nothing to do with them. No, I didn't. You need to start reporting conversations with this guy. I know he said, I want nothing to do with him. So, so well, listen, he now is, it's like a win, win because if he dominates, he's like, oh, I was wrong, but my team's unbelievable. So who cares? And if he doesn't do well, he's like, I told you. So I kind of hate that it worked out this way, but Pasha, the floor is yours. Tell us your excitement. Tell us your feelings. Tell us your thoughts. If you saw the news break. I don't know if I use such dramatic wording. The following statements are about to be made by your range devil's fan. The views expressed are his and his only. Take everything you hear with a grain of salt because remember, he is a deranged devil's fan. I don't think my words were quite that dramatic, but I agree. I know I've said in the past that I didn't want to go after hell because I'd rather save those assets for another piece. But listen, that's because I thought the price for this guy was going to be way higher than it was. Okay. I told me that this was the return and like, I don't want to like knock Mercer, Dawes or Alexander C'mon. But like, this price for hella buck was like half of what I thought it was going to be. So, and you know, of course, there's the age thing and the term thing, but like the time to win is now. It's the next five years. So, I mean, I love the move, obviously. You saw in the group chat. I'm giddy, but I will acknowledge I did say, like, you know, I wasn't like begging for them before they got them, but at that price, man, this is an amazing deal. They're shrewd move by Sunny Mehta. Why do you think it's like all the other, you know, Carolinas, the Buffalo's, those trade deals, like you heard actual players involved, like Buffalo was going to have to send Benson. You heard Stankholven, you heard Blake, you heard Jarvis, why, why did they not have to give up? And I mean, like you said, nobody would have, nobody wanted to give those guys up. Yeah. I mean, I saw that too, yeah, and listen, again, I love Mercer in the sense of like, I think he's a great middle six forward. He's versatile. He's never missed a game in his career. There's a lot of value there, defensively responsible, but he, yeah, like he's not a Jarvis or Stankholven, like it sounded like they wanted from Carolina. So I don't know. I mean, yeah, whether Sunny was playing poker and bluffing, although he kind of denied that and he said he's, you know, being more straight forward. But however it came together, yeah, I mean, for that price, man, that's a huge win for Sunny Mehta. There's a hundred mercers out there obviously, I don't like the return. My first question was going to be how many gigabytes in the data center you have in your place in your spank bank, did you store for that Sunny Mehta press conference that was explaining everything in detail about how it went down his style behind it, his thesis that I guess he wrote a paper like 12 years ago on the whole golden and cop topic in which then he backed up. What was your breakdown of the press conference and how he delivered his message? Yeah. We're past gigabytes busy. We're in terabytes territory. Yeah. Well, we're quite up there. Sunny Mehta is just a breath of fresh air, man, like hearing this guy talk, hearing sort of his process, getting insight into his mind. It's fascinating. Like, you know, his background. We had him on the pro poker player than options trading, jazz player, just such a unique path. And I mean, during his conference, he quoted like Bayesian theorem. I don't even know what that is. Like, that's like some like algebra equation. Like this guy, I feel like is just on another level playing 40 chess. Even look back to like the Barrett Hayton offer sheet, like offer sheets, as you know, aren't really fucking a dime a dozen. And as we see Hayton's under the hood numbers this year, excellent. So just his ability to kind of target guys that are very good, but seemingly undervalued, like Luke Evangelista, another incredible deal by him. So Sonny's been a breath of fresh air and he's a meadow. and a shaker, and don't think that this is the last move they're gonna make, like he is horny, that's the buzzword of the month, thanks to the Rectocrat. He's horny to get his fingerprints on this team, right? He's already made I think four or five moves. The roster has been revamped on the fly. He's only been on the job six months. So I'd imagine there's still more moves he wants to make to really make this his team, but I've just been so impressed by his results, his process, and just how well spoken he is. - It was a perfect storm too, Whit, 'cause they based on the amount of money that he forfeited up into this point in the season, the devil's only had that much cap space available. So he ends up sliding them in where I believe that they have about like $100,000 left on their cap this year. So it benefited for that sit-out period. And I think that Sonny just caught them at the perfect time where the media noise was getting louder around the winter classic. It was becoming more of a distraction. And I just, I really respect shoveled they off. Like I don't know if you guys listen to him talk on in his press conference. - It was great. - And in like a complimentary he was towards Halibok and he took the high road with that. I just personally would, especially how the team, I know they'd lost four in a row. I think going into the heritage classic. I just, I just would have been like, no, I'm not trading until I get an actual return that makes sense. And the fact that they didn't get a first rounder, Drew Jersey has four first rounders the next two years. How do you not get at least the first round? - I was wrong when I was talking to you. You had to trade to one away and eventually, eventually to deal, they have three in the last years. - How do you not get one of those as opposed to the second and seventh rounder? Like what are we, a seventh rounder? - Seventh is crazy. - A seventh is like the seventh is not a favorite. - And at Zoom call. - And based on how Sonny made it sound, like this was his guy who's very adamant. Like I wanted to get this done. If Winnipeg sat there and said, all right, Bugstad, Dawes, Mercer, Command and make that second a first and it's done. - You're not saying no. - Probably doing it. - Fuck yeah. - You're probably doing it. Now, we're doing GM like, Martin reading right now. And maybe he'll be, maybe she'll be able to have said that to him. And Sonny stood firm, but I agree with that part. - Now if you think that the injuries, like the messed the cob being out and the fact that they are leaking oil, there was a little bit of desperation. And also like Bugstad, he's a big body center as well, right? He's typically what, like a third, fourth liner. - Yeah. - So where they're a little bit dicey is outside a shifly down the middle, especially with the messed the cob out. All of a sudden you kind of somewhat bolster that middle of the ice. But if this Command kid doesn't pan out, that's an L. - You just, that's the big one in the trade, Biz. - I've done some digging on him and not a lot of great words. Like he's got, I think, I swear to God. - No one was definitely, it was an off the board. - He's got zero points in the elite league when he's playing up in the. - That's a tough league. But if you're trading a fucking hall of fame goalie for the guy, you should, the guy should have a point. - I called him Commander on TV last night. - Possibly Commander. - Were you mad at the pick when they picked him? - I mean, I know, oh, when they picked him, no. No, I full trust in Sonny and I love the fact that this guy just goes off the board. I mean, he's the reason the devil's got Jesper Brat in the sixth round years ago. He was the one saying, "Hey, drop this guy, drop this guy." - Who? - Jesper Brat. - Who was the reason for it? - Sonny Meta, 'cause he was with the devil's back, whatever that was, when Brat got drafted 10 years ago. - Okay, all right, okay. - So his ability to kind of fund these gems, but to go back to Command, they're saying like, if he hits his ceiling, he's like an Anton Lendell type, like a two, three C defensively responsible. And listen, that's got a ton of value, but there's no guarantee he hits that. And like I said, the devil's time to win is now. They don't need a guy who's gonna be a two, three C in two, three years. So I could very well see him panning out and being a very solid player, but no one in this deal am I like, "Oh, fuck, like, like, rattle that they lost." - The worst part about it for you, with is the fact that now it becomes more enticing for Quinn Hughes to now go join his brothers. - So before we get to that, 'cause I wanna bring that up and my thought on it, I've known Tom Fitzgerald for a long time. And I really like him, good guy. Now last year, Devils fans were on him and he really wasn't making any moves. It is crazy to see Sonny come in and see what he's done this quick. In terms of last year, I think Fitzgerald at one point was like, "I'm calling people, nobody's calling me back." Just something that Devils fans were getting frustrated with, 'cause they wanted moves to be made. Since Metta's come in, he got Rodriguez and Jesford Bowquist from Markstrum, right? He trades Simmon Nemick, okay. He brought in the Declanches home. He resigned, he's here. He resigned, Gritzuk. It's just, he brought in Evangelista. What else am I forgetting, Pasha? - Yeah, that's it, and then now. - The fact that Gritzuk has the best deal on the NHL, according to what you're saying. - Yeah, if you guys talk to me, even he's just talking to you. - I never know. - Well, no, I think Sunny was taking it back and then Witt, you went crazy. 'Cause you're like, "Even the GM thinks you're deranged." But, yeah, that's what happened. You said it to Sunny and he was like, "I don't know about that, but I've doubled down." - Six goals in the last seven games, he's finally playing with Jack and Brack getting opportunity 'cause before he was buried. This fucking guy, man, I'm telling you, he's probably already my favorite player in the team to watch. He is just the best shot on the team and for a Russian defensively responsible, Wins board battles, his playmaking, his speed. You saw him turn McCarramit. McCarramit looked like you went on that goal last week. (laughing) - This guy, I'm telling you, the league is fucking sleeping on our standing Gritzuk and for 3.25, are you kidding me? I will double down on my statement of that being the best contract. - McCarram said twin boys, bro. I don't throw 'em in my category. That's fucked up. And also, also, wild fans aren't gonna love this. Or maybe they actually will based on my past record. There is 100% chance Quin Hughes is on the doubles next year. - Yeah. - No, no. - It's over. - He's trying to play, he's trying to play. - Buddy, no, what he's doing, he's an idiot. Hellabuck, hellabuck, don't they live on the same lake? They're the best buddies, like this was it. This was it. - I don't think so. - No, no, no, no, no. You're being disingenuous and you're being fucking annoying on a show right now with a lot of people listening. You're being a fucking loser. 'Cause I know where you think it's 100% and you're doing this, so you don't jinx it. Pasha, you're fucking idiot. - You're even on our fucking group chat. - In our group chat, I was saying that. - Yeah, because you're only doing your thing of like, I don't want jinx and I want jinx it, but you shake it. - To come to think of it, I think that his sentiments on or I think that Quinn is truly undecided right now. I, this is gonna be tough on Billy G. Billy G has to somehow pull off a Larkin to Minnesota deal to make it sway back to resigning in Minnesota's favor. That's the only way, in my opinion, that he stays in resigning in Minnesota. - I know, but Biz, but Biz, the way that sheveled day off, finally just was like, this needs to end. Like, I can't, we can't deal with this anymore. Larkin's playing. I don't think Horkov's gonna settle for a package similar to the Hellbuck. - I agree with that. - I agree with that. - Dude, he's gonna sit there and say, no. - I heard Billy G dangled the massage lady as a carrot to throw in that, that time issues lady in the deal. - Really? - That was what I heard. - I thought you wanted her to Scottsdale already. - No, no, no, she's, apparently she's been dangled. She has to waver, no move, but yeah, pretty crazy to hear that. - Boy, they got, they have Jack and Luke. They now have an incredible goalie, what a gold medal with. They lived together in the summer, like, are we serious right now? - I thought you were, I want him in Minnesota. I want him to stay in Minnesota. I don't want him on the devils. 'Cause of this idiot in the top left screen of my fucking computer. - Could you imagine him in the day it happens? - It's done. It's done. - I don't think it's done, man. I fucking pray to God that it is. And I do think Hellbuck probably sways it towards more likely, man. But if tomorrow they go get Larkin, Minnesota, I don't know, I think it's far from done. I think Hellbuck certainly helps, but as much as I want that to be true, I don't think it's a done deal by any means. - Hold on, hold on, hold on, hold on. - Okay, okay. - I'm holding. - Then why? Then why? When I sent over the quote by Quinn Hughes, for anyone who hasn't heard this. - Because you sent a cherry-pink. - It's actually bullshit that they keep peppered him with this question too. - No, it's basically, what do you mean, dude? What do you mean, it's bullshit? What else am I gonna do? The reporter's 84k. - But he's already sent a million times. I don't know what I'm doing. Just let the guy be now at this point. Like, if you wanna talk about it in your article, if you're saying that, okay, so if he goes on, in a week from now, if he's still on the side and he goes to the next city, and the reporter's in the locker room, and they asked the same question again, are you okay with it? I'm answering it at every fucking city. - Well, he knew what he was signing out for. He knew what he was signing out. He dealt with that shit in Vancouver, and he can tell it to you. - I'm telling you, if you're a reporter and you're going in there, and you're asking that question again, I think you're a fucking idiot. - I actually respect you. - I think that he's already fucking sad. - He's gonna say the same answer every time. - You're making this guy, like, it's like, just fucking use, if I was him, I would literally just hold that quote up, print it out, and hold it in front of their face. - Well, okay, so Joe Span, - How did Joe Span use the fucking quote? - How did Joe Span use the whole fucking quote? - No, no, not just Joe Span. - With NHL set, I asked when he was in one of his contracts situation. He said his two feet are firmly planted in Minnesota, and he said he wouldn't be surprised something happened soon immediately responded to by the brat pack that lunatic devils fan wouldn't insane use of quotes here. And then Pasha had something to say as well that that's not accurate. I was just worried. That's like the third time this week, you've sent some cherry-picked quote. If you go read the full fucking article, I'm pretty sure his next words out of that was like, I'm not really sure what's going to happen or something. The full quote is like, it doesn't paint the right picture in that tweet. The tweet makes it sound like, you know, he wants to basically think he's on the devil's next year. Yes, I would, I would lean 6040 right now. Wow. That's it, huh? Big, but that's, that's assuming like buddy, we're talking about Billy G here. He went out and got Quinn to begin with. He had the ball loyalty to him. Yeah. Not to say that Caprice off wasn't going to get what he wanted for after the owner said he's basically got a blank check. But like he knows that you need to make big moves. He understands that their window is now and you only have so many prime years of these guys. I think that he's going to do what he can to get to get to get Larkin. And if he doesn't man, I then I give it like a 10% chance. I don't know why I don't know why Quinn at that point would stay because like you still have to keep going through the gauntlet of the central like that's not changing. Your team didn't get any better. Wait, who's team didn't get better? I'm saying that Minnesota's at that point if they don't get Larkin, it's not like they would have gotten better where if if he re-signs there, they stay the same. If he goes to New Jersey, they're a they're a contender. There's there. And then and then you're going in the east. They're a top. I would say that they're in the Carolina and Florida category. If not, those players are more in their prime and fresher than a team like Florida with with I was going to say with more proven goal telling I'll say that more proven goal telling them I think that if the devil's God Quinn Hughes, they could win the Stanley Cup. There you go. Okay. There you go. And I think that if if Quinn stays on Minnesota, if nothing, yeah, if nothing changes, that it's, you know, it's a 15 20% chance they win the cup with with with New Jersey. It's theirs to lose is my opinion. Do you think even if they got Larkin, what what makes it say that he's going to stay? No, I'm saying that I think that that that would, I think that that would put him in a very difficult spot because when you're on a team, when you're on a team that's like enjoyable and you love the guys like he does and like, keep in mind, keep you playing with favor, boldie, uh, Larkin, like how many of his US teammates? So I think maybe even more in that situation on that team that he would be if he went to New Jersey. So. Okay. If you've seen since the hellabuck news broke is the picture of the McKinnon wide open net and the comment, like if he just buries this none of none of this happens. Like honest to God, if we can't bury that, the whole league might be different. It's so true. That's why I was that's why I went and all went down like yes, I was upset for, for, but like the amount of traction the leagues got and because that didn't go in, I bet you're talking a billion dollars here. Yeah. Of like in you think I'm crazy, but like millions of American markets thriving. It's just it's the leagues gone fucking mad boys. Now I will say for devil's fans excitement, I, I respect it. I get it. I would if that was, I mean, if the oilers had gotten hellabuck this year, it would have been like this summer over like, oh my God. But he and a lot of other guys after missing training camp could, could struggle. I mean, look at swamens here, he's had one bad year in his career. We missed camp. A lot of players have missed camp. I think the year Neelander missed time. He didn't have a great, it's, it, it, it is a common thing that if you missed time, you never really rebound that season. Now they have hellabuck signed for a lot, a lot of years going forward, but I don't think this year matters. I wouldn't be surprised if he had a slow start, but I think Sonny said I didn't trade for him pro October. I traded for him for April. So like, yeah, I mean, if he has a rocky slow start and it seems like he's going to probably start in Colorado at altitude, just throwing him right in the deep end. So well, they stink, they, they might stink Colorado, like, I don't know what's going on. What, I don't know what they stink right now. Yeah, they are not, they got a Nashville Nashville fucking worked them and sneaky. I think Ryan O'Reilly is still unbelievable, like, I don't know what's going to happen with Nashville, but that, that was a beat down and they've been losing game. I told you the stat about their regulation losses last year, it was January before they lost four. Just a decent regulation now, quick apology to Nashville. You guys are back on the watch list. You're off the no watch list. I'm going to eat that L. There was a few other things, my number one, quickly, my number one no watch list is the Chicago Black Hawk. I actually watched their game yesterday against the Panthers and never in my life, Ryan Denonos had an incredible career, it was, it was actually a game from hell. He had like five great A-chances, one time his stick broke, one time he missed the net. I felt so bad, I was like, oh my God, no one how good of a player he's a great kid. But the Black Hawks are fucking horrible and they're not even exciting to watch, man, like that, they are so far, I text the Chief this morning, I go, hey, buddy, I'm so sorry, your team's horrible. It's not even fun to watch and he starts going, he's blaming Blaschel, he's blaming Blasch. Now I'm like, what do you want Blasch to do? He, they're in their own zone, it's a full on fire drill, every single shift. I don't know what the hell is going on. Can I say one? Yeah, I'm not done with that. You're not done with that. We're not done with that. We'll say it. Oh, it's fucking. It's interesting because I think he's very uniquely suited to help the Devils. You know that I've said, like the last few years, it feels like the Devils are dominating, dominating, dominating, can't finish a chance and then the other team comes down to Barry's one and it's just, it's back breaking. Since 2024, the Devils have the most losses in the league while out shooting their opposition with 49, the next is Islanders, Panthers, Hurricanes. But on her Hellebuck, actually, he has the best stats in terms of when he faces a low amount of shots. I could, you know, there's an actual average of safer percentage. And then when you're like under 20 shots, everybody's safer percentage drops, but his maintains the highest of any goalie. And right now, did you read this article by Jesse Granger, I was just going to say Jesse Granger on the athletic. Yeah. So this article is unreal. Why Connor Hellebuck is uniquely suited to solve the Devils biggest one? He's Martin Broder. They've allowed the fewest high-dager chances of any team NHL through the first month. They've surrounded the sixth fewest shots, second fewest shots from the slot and third fewest rushed chances by nearly every measurement. They have a profile of a suffocating defensive team, but they have the ninth worst team safer percentage. So they would dominate, dominate, dominate, not finish. They'd come give up one chance and go in. So Hellebuck's perfect for that. If you can, it makes in a few saves here and there. It changes the game because right now the Devils offensively and defensively are humming. So I think that boys, they're, they're going to enter full wagon mode here. Did you agree though, that this year, like they're, well, I'll ask you this question. If to solidify the Quinn Hughes move, what would you be willing to part with this season if you could get it done before the deadline? Now, fucking all three of those. Sonny and Sonny will get a seventh rounder for him. I mean, if that's the option on the table, if it comes to a point where whatever Billy G's like, okay, I have to trade him, just fucking get it done, man, because I can't deal with more variables and something else goes wrong like he did with Fitsy and then him. You wouldn't want to roll the dice and get him for free in the off season. I agree. I would do that. Why would you give us? I just have fucking trauma from the Fitsy situation where everyone thought it was a slam dunk that rather would trade him there and then fucking Fitsy's the same. That's different than that. Different than signing and I understand, but, but you know, from the trade deadline to July 1st, things can change. I just like, I don't want to risk it, man. Like obviously, I'm not saying trade, yes, for rap, but I'm down to trade picks and whatever, just to get it done and get an extra playoff run with him. And did you, because I think obviously Quinn has a lot of respect for Billy G and I'm sure he would tell him before the deadline, whether he's going to resign there or not, do you think Billy G would just be like, even if he's not going to resign, like, fuck it, we're going to roll with him to try to win it this year. Yeah. Yeah. I think he should because like, they don't, there has not been a ton of playoff success in Minnesota on a, like for every sport, right? And I truly believe that team, yeah, they, yeah, they need a center, but they could win it. And you, just, like, you gave up a lot. I know it sucks, but like, try to just go win one. I would hope they at least meet Edmonton in the conference finals if that was the case. Like, I just hope they get a little bit of a run out of it. If he does stay, considering they're not able to get a good enough return, going back to this whole, like, brother topic, I was going crazy in the group chat last night because I was flabbergasted at the fact that currently in the national hockey league, out of 32 teams, there's seven teams that have brothers playing together on that, that is crazy. That is a fucking insane stat. So I, I really have a hard time pronouncing the last name of the two that started the game for Dallas last night. The last name looks like the whole. Again, I think, Hurricane, I think they played at northeastern, I need Google to tell me how to pronounce it. Well, it looks like it looks like just the alphabets there. Serocan is it. Serocan? No, it age. Hurricane, I believe. You're saying it right? It's Hurricane. Okay. So the hurricane. The weather started the game together. Fuck. the game together on a line. One was playing center. One was playing the wing, wing, making it the seventh pair of brothers that are currently playing on the same team in the NHL together. So you have the protest brothers. You have the Macar brothers in Colorado. You obviously have Taylor up is Taylor in the NHL right now. He he was at some point. Okay. Okay. I believe they both played in the lineup this year together for my understanding. Are you have the Hughes brothers. You have the Felineo brothers. Um, Jack guys. You have the Jack eyes in in Montreal. Lingeries. Chuck's. Lingeries. The Kachak's. Lingeries. Actually, the Lingeries too, the goalie in the defenseman. No. Right. Yeah. I don't know where Charlie is. Okay. So maybe it's eight. Maybe it's eight then. No, no, no, they're not they're not together. Are they brothers? No, it's brothers playing on the same team. Yeah. This is the same team on the same team. That's what's even crazier about the stat. Dude, I think there's 19 brothers that are in the league, which is also crazy to me. Yeah. Let's keep going here. Let's let's name the seven pairings here. Let's let's. So it's Matthew and Brady, Jack and Luke, Nick and Marcus Felineo. Oh, yeah. Kirby and Colton Doc. Well, they're not on the same. No, no, no. Who are the current ones? Jack guys. Help me out for fuck's sake. Jack guys. We listed them. We already listed them. All seven. Yeah. Because they only people you forgot were the Kachak's. Okay. So seven pairs. Now it's not. Do you know what the next close system out in a year in the NHL was? Three. I'd say, yeah, two or three. No, also seven. And nineteen. Yeah. In night in 1980, 1985, it was. I'm going to pull this up right here. Steve Limer, Jeff Limer on the Hawks, Wayne Babbage and Dave Babbage on the Whalers, Brent Sutter and Dwayne Sutter on the Islanders, Steve Patrick, James Patrick on the Rangers, Rich Sutter, Ron Sutter. So there's four brothers for the flyers. Quebec Nordics had Anton and Peter Stasney, incredible players. And the Leafs had Miro Slav in a check and Peter in a check. Don't know if I'm saying that right. I haven't heard of either one of them go go figure it's the Leafs. So second time in NHL history that in one season, you had seven sets of brothers playing on the same team together. I think I don't know if any other sports league has even came close to that. No, being on the same team. I mean, it's incredible to see that that's like, I mean, when you see brothers getting to play like high school hockey together, it's cool playing in the NHL. Fuck and, and, and, and, you know, now the devil's going to have three uses in their team next year. I hope so. I hope so. I know you hope so. I know blood sticking in water. So what's the kind of butcher that, that, that, that, that, no, you didn't know you didn't, you crushed it, you crushed the first day off with the trade. Fumble fucking everything. My last thing on hella buck was he gave a quote that said, there's a lot I need to say, but they have the heritage game coming up. So I'd respect for them and the celebration of hockey. I'm going to postpone that to a later date. I hope they know I care about them. Do you think he's saying like, I have a lot of shit to say like, well, I never said it, too. I feel like I feel like players are doing this because then they get off the hook and then it never comes back up. Mariner mentioned this in Vegas. Larkin said it at his press conference at Detroit. And now it's like these guys got the same playbook. I think they're both taking the high road. Like I listened to Elliott and, you know, they interviewed Shovel Day off. And he said, even for like the fans, basically like, we'll take the high road, stay classy, San Diego. I think he said, so I bet hella buck was waiting to see what came out of their camp. And then he was going to see what he was going to say. But I bet I bet it's all, you know, water under the bridge for both sides. I'm not so sure about that. Elliott was saying that I guess he let the Jets know last week he was here to come in for a physical, which is part of what he has to do in order to start getting paid. And the Jets were worried that he was going to do a media interview. And apparently he was like, his blood was bubbling and like, was going to pop off in the media. And then Elliott felt that if he did that Winnipeg would do the same thing and things would get out of hand. So he felt that played in that didn't happen. He felt that that would have been a lecture. What do you think he could possibly, you think it just goes back to the way that some of the fans treated him after the election? Yeah. Yeah. I think he would have some stories of like stuff. People said to his wife and I'm guessing that I'm guessing that's kind of the the crux of it. Yeah. How how much would that impact you if you were a player with? I think that if I was single, I could handle it. I think if my wife, like he said, or like it's been mentioned, was like getting messages or people were saying something to her in person. And then she's rattled. It's kind of like happy wife, happy life. Happy life. Yeah. Get out of there. Okay. I don't I can't answer it because I've never been in that situation. Yeah. I think he said his wife was from Boston too. So she's closer to home now to probably just makes makes life easier at home being on the East Coast as well. We can ask Elliott. We can ask Elliott, right? Because we're going to sit down with him in an hour. So yeah. How would you handle it? Yeah. I mean, there's only one thing you can do to stay away from that is to not be on social media, which I did. And I would recommend that to anybody. But yeah, it like Whit said, like if your wife's getting threats and your family's getting affected by it, that's one of kind of, you know, because you respect fans and, you know, what they bring to your team. But when people say nasty shit, and I know it's just idiots that do it, like that stuff's not okay. Am I mine? Speaking of staying off social media, it's very funny to me when there was, I'd say thousands of tweets from senators fan truly despising you Keith. I think that we need to do a dance night and memorial peace on the board. I was actually laughing out loud in my room because I'm like, he doesn't see any of it. No, there was a article. Who's the who's the Bruce, what's his last name? Gary, Gary. Oh, he wrote an article. It's like, I texted the group chat. I said, welcome to the mud, y'all. Well, I mean, it's like you look at Vancouver the way that they treated Quinn the other last night. Well, you wanted they did what you wanted. Exactly. And you know why? Like they, they got other things going on. They got nice decent weather. They got nice scenic views. They got water. They got ski. They got all this shit. You live in Ottawa. You got fuck all. You got the canal. Yeah. You can skate that canal for a while. I got to get right or out there on that canal. Build up as wind. Yeah. So I get it, you know, if you're in wind up in in Ottawa, you got to complain about something because you got nothing, but yeah, Winnipeg, I think did it the right way. And I think they're the key Vancouver, Vancouver, the Kings of Ontario back to Quinn. Oh, Toronto is now after the. No, no, no, no, we handed it off. It's still on his hands after that performance. But I tell you what, man, I think they they both deserve a crown this week. Yeah. Quickly on. Quinn's returned to Vancouver. Like Keith had said, he was hoping from Ottawa. They cheered very loudly during the welcome home video, they boot him every other time. We did the list of chance for Brady. They had some good ones in van. I really enjoyed that he's not signing one. That was good. That was fun. That's just kind of like, Hey, you're in the same boat as us here. He ain't signed and I like that one. We want the cup was hilarious after they made it for one. They got one gold. They they want. Oh, fuck. Oh, that's so good. They chanted tank for DuPont. That was a pretty good one. Makar is better. These like like Canada buildings right now, boys, couple clicks for the Canadian crowds. Come on here. Buzzing buzzing in Canada. 500 points like we're just point or G pointed out in the shot. First American second passes to 500. And I was 520 games. That's insane. Yeah. Second at fastest American after Brian Leech. And I think sixth overall, I believe it was or coffee, Dennis Potvin, Ray Bork, Leech Quinn Hughes. I might be forgetting one. Is Makar not in there? Sorry. Makar was ahead of Leech and Quinn. So it went or coffee, Dennis Potvin, Bork, Makar, Leech Hughes. That's good. I mean, that's that that list right there. You kidding me? You know, I was going to celebrate answering whether or not he's signing again with with the Minnesota Wild. So I was not the first to say this, but I got a kick out of Quinn Hughes wheels the net. And literally makes one stick handle to the left of the blue line passes it to Caprice off. There isn't a soul around him who goes down and scores the nasty goal. And it was like, this is the ease. I think it was, I don't know. No, Pete Blackburn had a great tweet of Quinn Hughes might be the worst person to have to boo when he touches the puck because he has the puck the whole game. But it was another, he might also had the two of like, this is the easiest goal ever scored in the NHL. It was it was bizarre. It was that goal tending. The goal tending. There was no one on the news or Quinn Hughes could have taken it if he wanted to. He could have done. Everybody was to the side. Like you have to cover the middle of the ice, Pasha. That's incredible. 10 out of 10, man. They should make sure they should get first overall just for that chant. Well, they're going to get it. What do you got? Before I go back to my under the hood stats, one more thing. I think we all know now, Carolina was the runner up for for Halibuk. They really wanted them. Just not letting a divisional rival get him. And like Carolina is the devil's kryptonite. They have just crushed their hopes and dreams every year now when they play in the playoffs or whatever, even the regular season. And if the devil's wanted to make any noise, they'll have to go through Carolina. So getting hella buck and not letting them get him is huge. But what question for you now with hella buck, do you consider the devil's contender? No. That's weird because you said a buffalo got hella buck. They'd be a contender. I agree with you, Pasha. Yeah. And the thing about Buffalo is they would have have to give it up money in money out and got rid of a good, a good, if not two roster players to get him. Yeah. I think that's right. Ryan, I think Buffalo is a little better. I think Buffalo is a way better defense. Oh, they got better D. They got better D. Not a better team. Uh, Buffalo, but Buffalo not getting hella buck was a kick in the dick to that fan base. It was and and it's and that sucks because they can't they can't keep the puck out of their net. This season is not started off as they hoped. And Carolina on the other hand, well, they were, I guess runners up runner up to hella buck. Like they that that quote by murals's brother of the hurricanes might be done because they want it. And now Rod can't ride them. Like you used to ride them. They are they look so good again. They're nine to two. They got a plus 18 gold differential. Like they didn't need hella buck. And they got brother. He said that. Oh, I thought, okay, I thought it was somebody else. Okay. Let's go into the kitchen. Pause. Thanks for hopping on, buddy. And I know I've like chirped hella buck about the playoff stats over the last three years. I'm happy for him to be in the situation. And I think that this will be the difference. And I'm I'm worried about New Jersey, but very, very happy for you, even though you're a scumbag. Thank you. Biz, why do you think that it makes the devil's a contender if you chirp his playoffs? I well, I feel that eventually it's going to turn, right? Like I mean, it's like the law of averages. And he's shown he can play in that big stage gold medal game. And I also feel that do jerseys, a team that will provide him with more more goal support than Winnipeg could. Just like from like looking at their offense. And I also like like we're talking about a year after he's come off of the the Olympics. Like there's a little bit of confidence there, regardless of it's a different format. And I agree with the McKinnon missing on the empty net thing. Like it's amazing how one one empty net can change everything, but it did. So he he's playing more with the house's money. He's out of a situation where let's talk last year's playoffs up to the fact that his wife and him and his family, he was dealing with all this bullshit where he was already mentally checked out. I'm going to give a Hall of Fame gold tender the benefit of the doubt. And he's back in his home country. He's back with guys that he won an Olympic gold medal with. You saw the post game interview with the Hughes brothers and him. Like they're going to get the when they get those the joint. Did you see that post game interview after the Olympics with hella buck Quinn Hughes and Jack Hughes? Like I just feel like, yeah, I just I feel like you're going to get a re rejuvenated hella buck. And yes, he's probably not going to be good off the start here, but they need him for for May and April, May and June, not during the season. And if anything during the seasons in Winnipeg, the workload has been heavy. So you got to mentally check out for a little bit, get his bearings. And now I think that he's going to go on a run. And I'd be happy for him. Man, I feel like guys who have had Hall of Fame careers, like Joe Thornton and all these other guys who missed out a Jerome again, the chain, the author of Shamedone in there because you know, he's my boy. I feel like those guys at a certain point deserve a Stanley cup. And I hope that he gets it. Despite the fact that posture will be unbearable after that happens. Like he realized that he's going to have you in a mental pretzel, right, Whit? He said that in his quotes. He said in his quotes, he's like the only thing I haven't won as a Stanley cup. And I thought that was fucking gangster. But another thing that, which would, you know, have posh is back about them being contenders. Sonny Metta's from the school of Billy Zito. Hate him or love him. But I don't think he's done, boys. I don't think he's not, you know, I don't think this is what money's going out. Duggy Hamilton. Duggy Hamilton is going to have to agree to sign something. But although they're do get even worse, they don't have to use instead of it. But Pasha has said that Hamilton's numbers and he's looked good this year. Like their teams. He has looked good. He has looked good. I still want him gone. But his under the hood numbers have been good this year. He's tilting the ice. And going back to you, said workload with hella buck biz. Now he has Jake Allen behind him who's a fully capable backup. I think Allen will get a lot of starts. Take the load off of hella buck. So that that'll help him too. A devils Edmonton Oilers Stanley Cup final would our podcast would be, oh my god. I'd actually breeze me up to what I wanted to say. Wait, how are you currently feeling about our devils doc's future bet? Because the night before they got hella buck, the devils completely dog walked anaheim. And now they have hella buck. And you know what happened with anaheim this summer. I've said I've said before that like I was crushing the idea of that of winning that bet. Like I was winning that bet in my mind. And then they didn't sign Carlson. And then he gets 18 million. And then go to he gets what 15 million. And now it's like, yeah, I'm not. If you get Quinn Hughes, I'm I might be searching. I might be searching bio territory. Good set. What was the bet? It was supposed to be thousands and thousands of falls. I think this was $5,000. Was it not? Yeah. This one was for five. He's got to mean on your own. I owe him 80 bucks if they if they win before the the docs do. He's all the end of the world. I mean, he also said he was done with the oilers in full time anaheim. And I mean, look at every episode world. Yeah, I completely, yeah, quack. But what did I just, oh, Carolina. I want to go to Carolina quickly because Nikitian signed. Now G saying here quickly, just wait until Carolina gets lark. And I haven't even heard that in the mix. I think if they can get off of a cockney, Emmy, and somehow get him, I think that that's the play. And also with all this evidence and stuff, Nikitian, maybe that's the guy. And I was going to ask you to as, I guess I would consider Nikitian probably a guy who wants to be somewhat of an offensive defenseman and, you know, play his 20 minutes. I don't know. I don't know where, uh, how, uh, Brindamore and the numbers and where he fits on that team, considering how deep their Diaz, like chat feels better than him. Slaven's better than him. Gossess bears better than him. He's just not going to get that ice time. So I get maybe Nikitian's frustration. And if that's not even the correct word, like he's just not going to get enough ice time to prove himself in order to get the money that he wants. And you only get so much time in this league, boys, to prove yourself, make your bank and get the fuck out. So do you kind of understand where he's coming from? And no, maybe his frustrate. You think he should just fucking. I think he, I think they fucked this one up. I think his agent, I looked it up as Paul Therophanos. I think this was a, I don't, you know, you had no rights. You're, you're, you're a restricted free agent without the ability for arbitration, without the ability to get an offer sheet. You had zero leverage. You were holding out, holding out, holding out. And now you're, you're coming in after 13 games for three million bucks, like, yeah, it just pushed it down to this summer. Why didn't they just sign this and not? Well, he was, he was, so he was requesting a trade, right? Hoping something that would happen. And obviously it didn't, I mean, I mean, if Larkin doesn't have leverage, Nikitian ain't got shit, right? So he had zero leverage. No, yeah. But it's not even like he's just like unbelievable, like unreal D that like people are salivating over like when I say no leverage as far as like what you just mentioned, I'm talking about it. It ain't even like it was like some deep young demon put up major numbers where there was anything there. Like Edvinson, he might not have any leverage like the stuff you just talked about, but he got leverage. Yeah. Like if you, if you tell me who can you pick Edvinson or Nikitian, I don't even think it's close. You're on Edvinson. No, yeah, but also Nikitian. I mean, he won the Stanley Cup last year. He had 33 points last year. 11 goals. It's, I mean, that's good. It's good numbers. Obviously playing second fiddle. So I think, yeah, third. Slaven's put up, putting up offensive zone offensive numbers. Right. Yeah. So I agree with you a little bit, Biz, where he's like, you know what, I've won a Stanley Cup. Maybe I go somewhere else and can play a ton, but he's also got to be willing to go to a shit team where he's going to play more and be the guy. And then he can get his money. So I don't know. I think it's kind of you could have a little bit of bolt there. I think Carolina, you know, you sign them now. I think they should trade them and you got to be able to get something for him. Like he's a Stanley Cup winning defenseman. I'll say this. Like you're thinking if you stand on Carolina, I'm looking at him. Like he's probably going to be moving forward a, a five, maybe six million dollar defenseman. You don't think I was going to say a five, the fifth defenseman. Well, that too. And, and that's what a beautiful defenseman makes. Now, about five million bucks. You already got your Stanley Cup, which matters a ton. I'm looking at what fucking, uh, uh, William got Vancouver. And I'm saying some shit dog teams are going to pay me nine million bucks a year. Fuck this. I want to go make money. That's a good point. That's it. That's it. So, so you're both saying, yes. In terms of what they were doing, he's so willing to go to a bad team. Fucking right, man. I want to talk early. Like, yeah. Let me, I'll ask you this. Would you have like Syrgachov. Remember Syrgachov was second third fiddle and he goes out now. He's the guy in Utah bingo. Would you rather have one cup with, uh, with 80 million in the bank or two cups with 40 million in the bank. Two. Oh, fuck. That's a good question. Man, how are like winning? How much is your life changing? Your life might not change a ton. 40 million and I know you're talking about probably dealing with like four, five years of that eight year or now seven year deal of like pain. But I mean, when those fucking wires are hitting every two weeks and you already got your cup, I mean, I can really alleviate a lot of pain. Yeah, true. I just saw, I just saw, like, my thought was like, I saw an acoustic signs for three million. I'm like, if I'm a player, I'm like, why, why did I just sit out for this long? Well, he got off your hand. Yeah, this did nothing. I don't know what, but what a Toskey was like, all right, Toskey's like, yeah, okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Yeah, sure. And then I got it for three million bucks. Like they, it was a complete dominating win by the Carolina Hurricanes. Do you think he finishes the year of Carolina Hurricanes? No. Yeah, no way. No. And I think that it's a perfect situation because like, even if you're like now all of a sudden at that number, like everyone, I mean, I'm sure they're not going to trade them to a division division rival or some of them they might meet, but to be able to fit in three million bucks and and beef up your back end, like that, that wreaks of like a, maybe like a Minnesota move or, or, or Colorado, and you these teams. I bet you in the kitchen fits in good in Utah. Like, it's not like their D is unbelievable. Like, they could use a guy like the kitchen. San Jose. San, like, think about a three million box buddy, like to squeeze that guy in, like, they're going to get a good return for him and maybe even have draft capital and something that could maybe bring them a goal tender or, and or Larkin, like fucking, if they don't, it looks like they don't want to pay Edvardson, maybe Nikitian's the answer, although he's going to want his payday. So I don't think he ends a Carolina Hurricanes. No, I agree. I know. I'm just like, why wouldn't have happened already? I guess they would have then had to sign them to the long term. So yeah, and then you're doing this all again next summer. Yeah. So if you trade for him, you just get our rights next summer. He is our rights next summer. And he's subject to an offer sheet or there's something else. Maybe it's not that there was. Yeah, I think you're right. After, after we recorded Thursday, it was a great slate of games and the Bruins completely dominated the predators. And then Saturday, San Jose comes in. And one of the best games I've watched this year, like I had, so I had both, I had my computer with Edmund Titorano, I had the TV with Boston San Jose. And then it was five one. I was like, all right, fuck this. I'm just solely focusing on Boston San Jose. The Bruins, I can't, they are unbelievable. Unbelievable. They're, I keep like, wait, when is this going to end? I don't. Higgins. This kid's awesome. He's leading, leading rookie score. He's got the most block shots. I think by a forward in the NHL. He's playing on a line with, gee, what's that shutdown line? It's middle stat him middle stat and Lynn home and Casey, Casey middle stat looks like a whole different player now. Yeah, he looks crazy. He looks so fast. I, I, this team, man, they are and they're not boring either. They're like, they're putting the five six goals. They fight. They, they have a great fourth line. They got swimming whose favorite right now to win the best night's say and people keep saying like they're going to regress like the nerds like Pasha. They're going to regress. They're numbers are going to. Obviously, they're going to regress. They're playing to like 144 point season right now. Like they're going to regress. I think what this has shown us, though, is like they're a good hockey team and they can be good hockey teams. Yeah. Yeah. And as a guy who's no longer a leaf fan, I'm happy for you, gee, that's the best part about this is I'm, I'm able to be happy for Pasha. I'm actually able to be happy for your Edmonton oilers. And even your Florida Panthers, Keith, even though you're, you're a delusional Panthers fan who has your head so far up your ass, no matter what's happening with them in the old standards, I'm happy for you. And gee, I'm really just saying you're happy. You believed in them, gee, and you deserve this. Maybe the golf game is shit and you're delusional about that, but you're not delusional about your hockey team anymore. Congrats. Imagine if it gets time in Edvinston. Imagine if the bees get Simon Edvinston. I hope they get him. I hope they get another guy. The Bruins think they're getting on. Did we all pick the Bruins to miss the playoffs? Not G and not R.A. I mean, they're making us look darker than we usually. I mean, I had many missing. I had that I had the Nashville and the no watch list. They're fucking dummy in the avalanche. Ryan O'Reilly's fucking got a better backhand than Sidney Crosby now for fuck's sakes. And he's got no visor on that handsome bastard. He's fucking writing music in the offseason. He should have been playing at the Heritage Classic. That cast said in the chat. Yeah. The castling fight where who was a cashling that he fought. Oh my god, he pumped him. But he showed out to Kessel ring for getting absolutely buried from behind and then turns around fights his own battle against a tough guy like castling. They're like the fight Darnell and Big Z, you know, in San Jose, the Tanner Juneau went the other night and he is a fucking heavy man. He can shut up. They're a tough team. They have four guys that are willing to go whenever Saturday night. Before we throw it over to Elliot, I just want to bring up Saturday night. Buffalo to get they got a point in Washington but have talk score two including the OT winner. That is and he got the helmet. He got the OV helmet after. But that's his seventh goal this year. And Buffalo sitting outside the playoffs right now. We're so early into this year. But God, that was like and then the other one, um, Charlottes Columbus. They won. They won at home. They beat Fantilly. They beat Vegas, uh, Fantilly with the OT winner there. And uh, you know, they have a caribou Columbus. His bones is post game press conference. That's right. No, that's why when they win, it's like, but he, he, come on, we had a happy forum. No, no, I'm happy for the fans. They won. But like for us, but he could end up hitting them with like, that wasn't good enough after a win. He's been that crazy. So we don't know. I guess just always tune into a bone column by polar bones. Now like, it's not a shot, but we like, we enjoy it here. We need, we need more of bipolar bones. Yeah. And we need every coach to be like that. And I'm cool. He won again. Devin cool. I think we're sitting down with him on Thursday, boys. I'm very excited for this. Very, so we'll probably put that into the, uh, the Friday episode. So you look forward to that. What an electric quote and electric guy he seems to be. So let's, uh, let's go over and talk some NHL rumblings with the, like the, the true, he might be bigger and hockey than Adam Schefter is in NFL 100 percent because there's no competition. He is competition, like Elliott Friedman, the fridge bombs right now. We're talking to him. Guys, we got to take a minute. Showed out pink Whitney. Pinkie's up right somehow. Thank you very much for coming on, Elliot. Great to be back with you guys. Great. And congrats on the contract extension. Finally, I know there was a little drama in the off season, but Elliot and Akishan, yeah, you were in the news. You were, I have to say it was, uh, wait, it was, it was weird. You know, it's, sometimes it's good to be reminded when you're talking about other people like players or executives and things like that to be reminded of what it's like to go through that yourself. Um, you know, technically, there's something that says in my contract, I'm not really allowed to discuss my negotiations, but I'll say that I'll say this like some of the reporting was bang on and some of the reporting I was looking at it and going, I hope that I'm not this wrong because it is a way off. It was, it was crazy. It was your trade packages to other networks. I gave it was just, it was getting, it was getting ugly on the online. No, it's, no, no one wanted me. It's like that meme who wants you. No 100% that was what that was like Joe Buck going back the other way. Yeah. I can assure you, nobody was trading me for Joe Buck. Unless you were getting Joe Buck. Uh, no, you know, I, let me just say this. I always wanted to go back and I think they wanted to make it work. Uh, absolutely they did, but there were a few days there where I honestly didn't know where it was going to go. It was, it was really something. What were the emotions like, like, I mean, we talk about like Halibok going through his situation where there's a gap in time, like where you feel a little bit helpless, like who, like who are the people that helped you out through those days and like, what were they like personally? Well, you know, I mean, um, I tend to be pretty private about that stuff. So I mean, obviously my wife knew what was going on. Uh, Biaxa knew what was going on. Um, uh, cause we were, they were kind of negotiating with us at the same time. And, um, you know, but other than that, like, I was, I was being really careful what I would, like, I just didn't want anything to get out that would really hurt the whole negotiation. So I was being very careful about who I said to what? And you know, at the one thing I, I, I do want to say is that I, um, I did send a note to Amazon, like, I felt badly because that stuff wasn't true. And I was worried that people there might think that their jobs might get lost, right? So I sent, I sent a note to them when it was concluding just saying, like, I felt really badly that that was kind of the narrative. But I hope nobody there, uh, thought that, you know, maybe I was trying to take their job. So that's the one thing I did at the end. Fucking rights. Was this like your first big, uh, negotiation, uh, in general or just where it is in the world right now that everything's so public? I've had big ones before Keith. I knew this was going to be the biggest. Like, you know, Keith, I just turned 56. This might be my last, like, I don't know how my, like in TV, you know, and put a cross be of breaking news. No, no, no. Like when you're older like me and you look like me, you don't necessarily survive that long. So like, I knew this was, you know, I knew this was kind of my, my last, this could be my last big one. So, um, it was, you know, it was, it was not the first one, Keith, but it was, I knew it was going to be the one that had the most scrutiny. Well, Ellie, and I remember when we were told that our show was going from just podcast to video. And I was like, no, no, I don't need my face. That's why I started dying as hair. I never have. But I, I think it's funny. You say that. But I, instead of hopping right into the NHL and how electric this is, which helps out us and you in terms of just content everywhere, nonstop. Yes. Your career is amazing because I wanted to ask you started off, you know, internally and then you're covering the NBA, never in your wildest dreams. Did you ever imagine that you'd be the, the insider to break all news, right? Or did you actually have this goal in mind? No, no, no, no. I like, and you know, like the one thing I always say and I find this really keeps my edge the best is I think the best insider is the person who breaks the last big story, right? So like, for example, like if I, like on Saturday, I was taping an interview and I missed the waivers and there were two waiver claims, right? And I was furious at myself that I wasn't on top of the waiver claims. And somebody saw me and like, they, like, they was wrong with you. And I told them like, and they go, are you nuts? I go, no, that's just like kind of the way I'm wired. But I think that's what really kind of helps me try to stay sharp is that it, to me, it doesn't matter how many break it. It's who broke the last one, right? And, you know, for example, Pierre Lebron broke the Brady contract rate in the summer going to Florida. And I was like, furious, like, how did I miss that? How did I not get that? So I still think like that. And I find it really helps. But with, like, I never thought this, like, I've told the story before, like, I remember the first time I had a big TV interview, like a really big legit TV interview. And at the end of the interview, the person said to me, you know what? Like, if I'm going to hire you here, you're going to be a producer. You could be a great producer. But you're never going to be on television because you're not good looking enough. Yeah. I know Rogers teacher saying that to him. And I was like, I know, I know it's impossible to believe that somebody would say, I'm not good looking enough to be on television. But, but, but you know, I just, I, I remember that I remember being told, like, it's been 30 years, but I, but with I, I still were, I still remember it. Like, it was yesterday. Like, I mean, in a lot of ways, we're like the players that we cover, right? Like, there's a lot of decisions that get made that you don't have control over. And things happen that you think are ridiculous, but they happen. So I kind of treat it like that. You're only as good as your last game. Did it fuel you a little bit? Like I was joking about the Aaron Rogers thing, but I believe it in college. She had a teacher that was like, because he's like, what are you going to do with your life? He's like, I'm going to play in the NFL. And she's like, you're not going to play in the NFL. When you were told that, did it kind of where you kind of like, fuck you? Like, I'm fucking, like, I'm going to work my bag off and get to that place that I want to get to. That's exactly what I said, Biz. I was like, no matter how ugly I am, I'm going to become such a good reporter that someone's going to have to give me a chance. Yeah. I'm going to get a face transplant. I'm going to groove you wrong. You should have saw what he looked like before the implants. Yeah. Yeah. Elliott's walking out of the BBL. Like, say, Nicki Minaj has asked, um, you have, you mentioned are with it. You started in the NBA. And now where the NHL is is almost like the NBA. Did you ever see it coming to where it is now? No, I, I don't think so. And I think the biggest one now, it was Leo Carlson. I think that there are, you know, there's things that you're always going to remember. I was on with like on Nick and Justin's show last week. And, you know, I remember it's, it's before you guys all played. But, you know, one of the biggest things that changed was in 92 when they went on strike right before the playoffs. Like, that was a big one. That, that moved mountains. And obviously there was some labor stuff after that. But I think the Leo Carlson offer sheet and, and what's that, what that has done to the league is has really changed things. And I think also, and everybody has big opinions on this. And it's kind of like the third rail about talking about things right now. But, you know, you look at the US Olympic team and the gold medal and what has happened in the aftermath of that. Um, and, and you know, and maybe guys we, we should have seen this coming. Like I know, like Keith and Ryan, I know you guys have kids who are in sports. And you look at you sports right now. I don't like my team or I don't like my situation. I'm just going somewhere else. And you look at college sports right now and how many kids are in the portal in every sport. Maybe we should have been, maybe we should have realized this was going to come. And, but I just think the Carlson offer sheet and what that's done to the salary set up. It is, it is going to be, it's going to be arguably the biggest event business wise in the NHL in, in our lifetimes. I've heard that there's like quite a few GM's or people in front offices from other teams that were like really upset that Philly did that. Not so much the offer sheet, but the amount because it accelerated it to like, you know, we're all of a sudden Mac on celebration. He's got to sign for ridiculous money because like that's the, that's the quota. Like have you heard that it's upset a lot of people that it's gotten so aggressive so quick? Yeah, I do. I think people feel that like any team that would have done that then Paul and seen that the change that followed was, was going to get it. Like, you know, I remember in one player telling me, it's funny. And I mean, you guys can appreciate this. I'm sure there's one player who told me that, okay, there was, he was a teammate with a guy who signed a big deal and he said, well, I'm, I'm maybe, I know I'm not as good as that guy, but I'm not $6 million dollars worse than that guy. Wow. And it's like, you know, for example, I don't know. Let's just say Anaheim signs Carlson for 15 instead of 18. Let's just say what's gochase number? Now it's 13 and a half. What is if he's at 15 and you know, they got to do Santa and you know, you take a look at all the situations all over. The cap is going up to 127 and a half next year. Now the league really believes it's going to flatten out at some point. They do. The players association feels differently. We'll see who's right. But it's going to it's huge and I'm happy to see people paid. But I just think it's happened so quick that the teams are having difficulty catching up and figuring it out. Did for big genuinely not think that that somebody was going to come in that high. Like were you able to get that information? Like were they like what? He didn't see the danger. He didn't he didn't see it. You know, and I'll tell you this, I had teams that say to me that they thought the mistake Philly made was they should have gone like the full 20%. They felt that he should have. If you're going to do it, go to 20.8, right? And I still think Anaheim would have matched, but it was interesting. I did have one team say if you're going to go, go to the top. I think it's crazy. Like timing's everything in life. But these teams like Montreal and even Jersey to an extent, like they just did all these deals with these guys before this happened. So now they're sitting there laughing. And it's like, oh, there's just teams like Anaheim's now in one, right? Like I earlier in the show before you came on. I mentioned, Goathe, I ended up at 15. It was 13 and a half. That was my bad again. But now Seneca. So it's like Montreal, the Demodov deal for me is the big one where like they ended up getting him at that number two. So a lot of teams are laughing. And a lot of teams are like, oh, we got completely hose just based only on the timing of this. This is why I always say Ryan, like if you have a person on your team, what you think is a cornerstone player, sign them for as long as you can. Immediately. Because the price never goes down. And now what what this whole situation is showing that if you don't take care of your business, somebody else will take care of it for you. Like you look at Carolina, they have quietly waved the offer sheet of people that they did it with Bouchard. Why do you think Bouchard got that big extension? And the way he's going to earn every penny of it, they did it with Keon Remiller. They worked out a trade. He was a key part in the Stanley Cup team. And they were kind of threatening Edminson with it earlier this year. So you know, I just feel get your business done. And that's why I think the the Larkin deal has been a bit of a hard one for Detroit because he's locked in for five four and a half more years at what eight and a half. Like you're not getting Dylan Larkin on the open market for that. So that's why Detroit has them on such a premium. Do you think it's changed a little bit where the you know, the GMs were it was a little bit of an old boys club for a long time and not as many, you know, offers sheets. It all kind of seemed like they were all together, all the GMs and kind of wanted their teams to be where they are. Keep the players at a certain, you know, demographic. But I feel like it's new blood coming in. You got guys like Sonny, you got guys Tolsky that don't have the hockey playing in the NHL backgrounds. So do you think that that's changing it a little bit? A hundred percent. And I think the owners, I think it's also the owners like Dundin, like Tolsky is a perfect GM for Dundin and and and the other thing too is is that I also think these owners now keep like they're paying more than ever for their teams. Like you want success. If you have a team that you look at the expansion now they're talking, you know, three billion if they do it. And what do you think you want? You're not going to do offer sheets. If you're got three billion invested in your team, you're like, no, get me players. But it's crazy that for so long. I think people, sorry, people would say like, why aren't they doing this? Right. Yeah. It makes sense to do it. Yeah. It happened here and there, but it offended the sensibilities of some people. That's for sure. Going back to you personally, as your popularity has grown, do you have more fun online playing with people's emotions with the break in the trade? I'm going to read off a tweet with sent this to the group chat. I saw it online. I didn't like retweet it. You might I hope you're not offended by it. Elliott Freeman tweeting. The hellabuck saga is coming to an end. That was your tweet, putting his phone on vibrate and sticking that up his ass. Like do you see those tweets and just like laugh because like even you with the cigarette in your mouth, like, is it more fun for you online to get the reaction? You know, I have to say that I didn't see that one. I think it's funny. It takes a lot to offend me. Like I think I'm pretty similar to all of you guys. Like if you're going to put yourself out there in this day and age, you're going to get some stuff. So you kind of have to laugh it all off. The cigarette one, I just did that for the laugh. People loved it. I wanted to do it for the laugh. I will say this. I think that I didn't like that I vague posted that one. I don't know if I'll ever do that. No more of that shit. Do tweets like that. But but but I'll say this. So Marchenko gets we reported that the leeson were working on a Marchenko deal. And you know, when I reported a certain way, I it's 99% going to happen. I just can't say 100%. So the Marchenko one. And then the next day, I'm walking to the leave game because it was their opening game. And there was a fan there. And he stopped me. Really nice guy. He goes, you really did something yesterday that really pissed me off. And he's like, Oh, yeah, what's that? And I go, what are you? My wife. And he laughed. And he goes, he said you reported like the Marchenko trade was coming down. They wouldn't hear from you again for three hours. And remember when Ranton got traded from Carolina to Dallas, then happened it like two in the morning. Like so it was the trade deadline. So I went to bed at like 245. I woke up at six. I had like 100 DMs from Dallas fans. Like, where's the rest of this trade? And I know I say to people like just because there's an agreement doesn't mean it happens three minutes later. Like it takes time. But but people don't know that. And they're like, if you say it, we want to know when it's done like now. Immediately. Immediately. And like God love them because without these fans, none of us have jobs. So I understand. But it's just like when when something happens, they want it to end right away. They almost like don't vague post. And if you say it's coming, tell us immediately that it's happening. It just takes time to talk to that. I think that what you have to deal with, you should get some enjoyment out of it. I would say more of that. And we get ridiculous responses like God that we can be the people are great. Like I'll tell you, there's one out there. Okay. There's there's one fan and I don't know who they I don't know who they are. I don't I don't have it saved. But here she has a tweet out there that says you could be having a perfectly good day. And here comes Elliott Friedman and his clickety-clack shoes to tweet something that completely ruins it. Ruins your team. And whenever I report something that some people don't like, that will appear like 25 times in my mansions. Like just like the screenshot, just the screenshot. And people love it. And I just I just laugh. It's it shouldn't be fun guys. It should be fun. It is. Yeah. You got to make it fun. But when we were talking earlier, we had Pasha on. You know Pasha pretty well. I know he's been happy. I get I get text from Pasha. The first text I got after the hella box thing that they were talking to Jersey was from Pasha. I was like, wow, appeared on like screen. And it was Pasha. No, so we we've been we were chatting about hella buck and about Quinn Hughes. And he's like, no, no, I texted Elliott. And I'm like, how often you text him? He's like, kind of a lot. I was like, bro. And then he's like, yeah, sometimes he lets me sleep. But he was on and he was discussing how fired up he is to get hella buck to New Jersey. And we were saying how like he got his what he got his wish. He took a little while, but he's gone. Then we went over to Larkin. And we were actually discussing how sheveled they off like personally us three. I didn't love the return. But whatever. Now you go to Detroit. And with Larkin playing, I feel as though Horcoff is not going to give in. Like it's so different with him in the lineup. And in terms of like when this will break, it doesn't seem like he's going to settle for something that he doesn't want in return for the for Dylan Larkin to go somewhere else. Well, nor should he really like, you know, he has to like, like we said, like Larkin's four and a half more years at eight and a half, right? Like, that's unbelievable. I mean, like to me, Larkin, the way if you put him on a good team, like the way he played at the foreign nations and the way he played at the Olympics, I thought, I mean, I don't know. You guys felt I thought he was phenomenal. Unreal. So, so if if you put him on like a team that's ready to contend, I think he's such a perfect piece. Like you imagine him in Montreal behind Suzuki, like they would be, they would be phenomenal. A lot of these teams, I, I think this, I think that the real challenge Horcoff was putting a really tough spot. He really, nobody was, there was a vacuum all summer. He gets the interim job right before the start of the season. And basically, it's like running uphill on a 10 mile an hour treadmill, right? Like you're, you're running the catch up. And, you know, the one thing I think now is, I think he's starting to look around and say, okay, if we are going to do this, and I think he's doing the same thing with Edvinson, if we are going to do this, what are we getting? Like, what's legit out there? And I think he's doing his due diligence and, you know, I, I think he wants a lot, he deserves to ask for a lot. I just, just think that whoever can come up with, whether it's a younger center and a package, or like a veteran, a good veteran center and a package, is who's gonna get Dylan Larkin. And the one thing that Chevy said, and I thought about this a lot is, what was true before might not be true now? And I'm look, or what was true now, might not have been true before, like I'm looking at a guy like Yorov. I'm watching him play and I've been watching him this year. I've gotta think like a guy like that, Detroit probably thinks better about him now than they did at the end of last year. - The Babcock was raven about him. - Yeah, people are noticing. - It's well, I just wonder if the line has moved with some of these things. Like Montreal to me can do it, no problem. If Detroit believes in Yorov, then Minnesota can do it. I don't think there's any doubt, but there's nothing wrong with Horkov having an auction, and I think if I was in his shoes, I would do it. The one thing that worries me for Detroit is Larkin's already been hurt. And if he gets hurt, that's the one thing I really, I think that's the one risk the Red Wings are really going on. - And you can't sit him out, right? If he wants to play, 'cause he's playing. - Yeah, and I think also, like I'll say this, like when we reported that Larkin has to be traded, it was really hard summer for Larkin, really hard summer. I think he really hoped against hope that that would never get out. It's hard. A secret like that is really hard to hold. I think he was really hoping it could be done quietly. And one of the things that I've heard about Larkin is, he wants to play because he wants to go out the right way. And number two, I think, I mean, you guys know this dynamic much better than I do. His teammates know he wants to be traded, but he doesn't want them to think he's given up on them or won't compete for them. And I heard that's very important to him that if he goes out, he goes out the right way. - What percentage of it do you think is reconcilable? Like what percentage do you think that he actually stays there at this point now? Has it gotten better? - I don't know the challenge there is, I don't think he has anything again. Like obviously there was something between him and Iserman. Iserman's not there anymore. But, you know, he wants to win. Like all these guys who won on the Olympic team, whether you're younger or you're older, winning the Olympic gold medal doesn't mean, okay, I'm happy now. You want to win more. And unfortunately, Detroit's just far away from winning. So I don't think that changes anything. This, we were talking about the hella buck situation and just kind of the way that it was handled with him. Like, do you think it comes? Oh, somebody's getting a call. - No, no, I just took it off. Oh, do you want to break something? - No, I don't think this is a break. - He says, he's gonna kind of address like what happened. Kind of the way that it worked. - I think this is more like make sure you pick up some milk when you go out this afternoon. How much do you think of like the off-ice criticism and like the stuff following the Olympic gold medal had to do with hella buck wanting out of Winnipeg? Because the reason I look at his situation differently is like they had a winning culture. Do you think that he looked at it as a sinking ship where they were gonna keep getting worse and worse? Or do you think everything had to do with like what he's outside noise essentially and what he dealt with personally? - I think it's both, I do. You know, one of the reasons I think this trade happened last weekend was hella buck. Like the suspension was ending on Friday and you know, obviously he was gonna get paid and that was a factor. But hella buck had to come into Winnipeg for his physical and I think, you know, the one thing I heard at the game yesterday was I think there was a chance that he was gonna talk to media. And you know, depending on what he said and then with the Jets' call of press conference and answer back 'cause tempers were really getting afraid. Like it really could have gone nuclear. And I just think everybody wanted to avoid that. I think it was both biz. - But what does that mean? Like what could hella buck say that would be like so detrimental maybe to like the organization? 'Cause like if it's outside noise like people tweeting and the stuff with his family after the Olympics stuff, like they have no control over that. - But you have to protect your market, right? Like you have to protect your market. Like one of the interesting things that Chevrolet Day Off said after was, I asked him if he was worried that, you know, the hella buck situation could start like a title leave. Like hella buck goes and then other guys start saying, "Okay, I want out too." And he had a great answer. He said, "No, these guys are Jets." And I thought it was a really good way of for him to answer the question. It was an excellent answer. But, you know, I think one thing they have to do is they have to protect their market. Because as you guys know, and the Jets really don't like talking about this, but, you know, we can talk about it. There's no team in the league that has a smaller player pool to attract to go there. So if, you know, if there starts to be all this talkable, what may have happened after the Olympics, how many more players that you think might wanna play in Winnipeg might just say, "Oh, okay, no." Like, you, I think the Jets would have fiercely defended their market. And I just think it would have gone off the rails. Like, you know, I have to give Winnipeg so much credit. Like Blake Wheeler's in there was tough. And he got an incredible reception this weekend. They always love Buffalo. But if you remember when he ended there, because the injury, there was a fight over the contract. And the fans didn't care. He got the biggest ovation of the weekend. You could tell, he was really thankful for it. But in me, and I thought, again, the Jets said, maybe someday a shovel day off plays. And maybe one someday hella buck plays in one of these games. I don't know, it's pretty raw right now, but they've proven that time heals. I think if this had taken the next step, I don't know that would have been possible. You know, hella buck said, like, I don't want to talk about it this weekend because it was there. It was the big heritage class. And I thought that was a good move. If I was him, I don't know if I would go there. Exactly. Like you've won, you got your trade, you're in a good place. And if I was the devils, I'd probably say Connor, just let it go. Like if you want to say something when you go back to Winnipeg in a couple of weeks, you can do that. But I'd be like, take the W. You won, close the door. And even Chevrolet Dayoff on your podcast was saying, you know, a message to the fans, like, treat the, you know, have some respect when he does come back. And which I thought was great because, you know, the guy did pour his heart and soul into the organization. So it almost seemed like they were both on the same page. Like, hey, like a clean breakup. I'm not going to say anything bad about you. You don't say anything bad about me. And I think that's the way it should be. Now, I'm not sure Keith, on November 10th, the fans will listen to him. You need to protect him, like Jan said, where they maybe don't dress him or don't even like have him be the back up that game. I know. I hope not. I know. I know. If it was me, Biz, I would never allow you to do that to me. Like I remember when Curtis Joseph came back to Toronto and the Red Wings didn't play him. I don't know. I, I, you, I thought, I thought Brady could chuck hell. It's so well the other day. Like, I know it's socked for them to lose. And I thought the Ottawa fans were great people over the line. It was unreal. But I, I just love, I thought, Brady, you know, wafing when they're doing the thing. And at the end of the game, like, did you really think they were that bad? Like, I thought he handled it so perfectly. Like I would, if it was me and you said to me, don't play, I would say, look, I will climb over your carcass to get to start that game. I would not let you do that to me. That's awesome. Going back to Detroit quickly. Larkin's, he's 30 years old. He requests a trade. It is what it is. Advancing on the other hand is six six. Skates like the wind, he's 23. They picked him sixth overall. Is it now at the point, I don't know if you're willing to say where I, I'm guessing they want to sign them and he's the one saying, I'm not signing here. That is, that is, that is true. Wow. So he won't have been that is true. What are they offering? So what, what happened there? And, you know, like Horkov made it very clear they want to sign them. And I said this a couple of times. I've heard that Horkov in particular has, you know, in the developmental role, has really worked with Advancing and really believes in Advancing the player. He's a big fan and, I mean, we can all see why. I think that, you know, he's been eligible to be signed since July 1st of 2025, right? And I think it's just taken too long. And, you know, all summer, nothing happened. You know, I forgot this until it happened, but he, since he showed up at camp with no contract, he has to pay the insurance out of his own pocket, right? So he does that too. And it never got close. And I just think he got mad. And, you know, I don't know, Edvinson, personally, I'm very careful not to speak for him. But some people, when they get mad, you can't change their minds. And I know they've, they met with him once. Um, they, they, uh, and you never know. Maybe he could change his mind. But the last I checked on the weekend, I heard right, he hadn't, he hadn't changed his mind. You might get a better package for him than Larkin. Or put him together, yeah, I mean, I think they have options here. They have options here, you know, that's the one thing. Like Detroit, it's not what Detroit wants. They want to compete, but sometimes, you know, but sometimes it's out of your control. What Detroit does have is they could reshape their team pretty quickly if they could make good moves for Larkin and Edvinson. - You mentioned it with Winnipeg, like one guy asking out in, you know, the GM's worrying about more guys asking out. Do you think that that was a situation in Detroit or Edvinson kind of, this is all, 'cause it feels like it's been-- - This is a different situation. - It's been mistreated. - This is him, like this has been, what, 15, 16 months already, I've had enough. - So is this a situation where Detroit, like the organization, like not saying it's Hork either, 'cause he just got the keys to the car, where like what Edvinson was asking for, and they were being difficult about it to where now they're saying, yes, we'll give you what you want. And what does that number look like? Is it a seven-year deal at 10 million plus? - Well, I would say this. What I do know for sure is that he was being offered a bridge deal when Iserman was still the GM, and he didn't, I don't think he wanted that. Like I had some people who told me a bridge deal was close. I had other people who told me it wasn't that close, it's not what Edvinson wanted. You know, we've talked about contracts that have changed the way this all looks. You know, Zubuliam's contract in Vancouver at 9.35, I'm sure Edvinson looked at that and said, well, if he's that, then what am I? And so I don't know that he's asking for seven times 10. I don't know what he's asking for, Biz, but I do know that that contract changed the calculus. And you know what, unfortunately for Detroit, they were just the way it all unfolded this summer. They were in such a vacuum. It stopped all their business for a while. - I get their fans being pissed, man. Like that, you see this guy play the past couple of years and now it's gone apart because there was no power, there was no decision making. Hork comes in, it's too late. It's like, and they're 16 million dollars of gap space. Like I understand the cell, the team chance at this point. - Yeah, they're, I mean, look, you haven't made the playoffs and how long, right? Like 10 years, expect your fans to be happy. Or maybe more, I mean, since Larkin's first season, I think maybe it's been 12 years now, maybe 13. I was just going to have one. This could be a complete rumor. Obviously Cowboy Cowboy with Toronto. I'd say probably one of the biggest surprises as far as expectations from last season. Maybe misusage to what he's doing with Toronto this year. Is it true that last year there was a package that was offered where he would begin going to St. Louis where they were trying to get Shen to come to Toronto? - I think that was two years ago. By the way, Bayez, I told one of my buddies that I was coming on. He's like, so I was since I'm from Toronto, I got a bunch of guys with big leaf fans that like, don't let them back on the bandwagon. - No. - Don't let them back on the bandwagon. - He's not welcome. - He's not welcome. - I had a moment of vulnerability the other night when that Edmonton game was going on. I'll say that. That was probably the toughest situation. - We saw your shirt. We saw your shirt. That was like if you're Tom Brady and you're watching Giselle with the Taekwondo coach and coach and baby picks. That's what that one felt like. - Little. - But now he responded with, what are you saying? Yeah, it's what? - I mean, you don't have to bring my goat into it. - I'll tell you the reason why. - Well, the leafs went back at you. - Yeah, they're just having a ball with this. But that was two years ago, I believe. - Okay. - That was the year that, yeah, I believe that was my, so they were looking at Braden Shen that year. And what they were, so that was not last season the year before and actually it was funny because that came up, I was actually just looking at my notes. And so what was going on there was Toronto was trying to see if they could trade for both Luke and Braden. And I believe Ottawa had tried to trade for Braden Shen and he had vetoed it. And then Toronto was like if we can get Luke and Braden, would you come here, would you accept the deal? And I think there was some willingness to do it if they could get Luke. But what I heard was that was St. Louis was asking for, was they were asking for, I think it was Shen, and I think it was Shen Danforth first. And Toronto wasn't gonna do that. They just thought that was too much. The one thing about Cowan is I do think after last season Bizz, if they could have gotten a big piece for Cowan, they would have done it. But it wasn't long into training camp this year, I heard. Even before, like you guys know how it is. And someone says, oh my god, this guy showed up, he's great. And the puck drops, it's like, okay, well, it didn't work out. But Toronto was saying from the moment he showed up, it was different. And this is a case where they were right. Like they're not, they're not trading that guy now. And he went down and played and want to call their cup, like how important you think that was for him. 'Cause not a lot of guys, you know, some guys would be poopy pants about doing that. But it seemed like he went down with the right attitude and ends up when the kids won everywhere he's gone, too. - You know, Keith, the other thing about that was Toronto's got in the American Hockey League. They got a lot of veterans. Like it's a challenge for them sometimes to get everybody a role that they're happy with down there with the Marlies. And they said that, like if you watch him in the celebration, like he's ecstatic and they said exactly that. Like it was hard at times to find the right fit for him because of all the players they had. And they were successful. But they said that he never caused them a problem. - I mean, we gotta give, you know, a compliment to Trica. He's done an incredible job, him and his staff, since they've been there. What do you think the possibility of, with the way the things are going in Columbus, it's a little rocky there right now, depending on what day it is. What, what, what possibility? - Where he was already annoyed at me enough last season. You want me to start this again? - I mean, these guys can't, these guys can't get upset when they request trades and it gets out. - Yeah, that's true. - I'm so sorry, it's like. - Do you think he gets, do you think Jada's going to put a masterpiece together in Toronto? You're going to assemble the Avengers? (laughs) - Bring Laurence Keane. - I heard he was Carvin Jim and his vow was the other day when he got married. (laughs) - No, legit, really? What was he saying? Whatever the fuck he wants, he runs the league. The league runs through his cell phone. Somebody joked, they said to me, Judd thinks the league is called the J and JH. - It is, it is. - It is, legit. - The league runs through his phone, and he does whatever he wants. - Oh my God, I said three of this stuff. - He's 10. He's like, he's like, you, he hasn't got a leave. - No, no, I'm not going to leave. - Toronto doesn't have any one to give to Columbus. - Guys, I'm fucking mad. - Well, now I'll take with the other one. I'll get, you know, it is funny you say that is 'cause I've definitely heard that theory. There's no question about that. But, you know, like, I'll say this, like, Columbus got a huge win over Vegas. You know, they've got to be better. They absolutely have to be better. Like that, that was a tough one. That was a tough one. When you saw the way Ottawa played against Florida and you saw that Columbus Toronto game, like, there were a bunch of big money on the board games this week. There was that obviously Florida Ottawa. There was Columbus Toronto. There was the other night Dallas Islanders, like for Autinger. I'm sure that Philly Anaheim game on Saturday afternoon had a lot of money on the board there. - Babcock and Toronto. - Babcock and Toronto against Autinger and Jesus Christy. - You guys know, like, you have to show up in those games, man. Like, you have to be good. And I think that was usually disappointing for Columbus. I think we, I don't have any reason is we do this pod right now to say that Warnsky's unhappy. And I'll tell you what someone did say to me, is if you watch the end of that game, Toronto's winning like six to two or Warnsky's out there hitting guys. Like he was trying, trying to make a difference. - Yeah, showcasing himself with Toronto. - But, but they've got to be better. I think everybody knows it. - Yeah, but I mean, at the end of the day, when you look at their roster, they're just not a great team. And they have great fans. They have great guys on that team. But, I mean, if you look at their roster, they're not a playoff team. - They were, but like, they were so close. And I thought, like, as good as Marchenko is, I just thought, if you've got somebody that doesn't want to be there, I thought Nies was the best player they could have gotten for them. And then he scores what, twice in the first game, he's been quiet since then. I've been really, I've been shocked at that because I think Nies is a tremendous player. - Well, this has been awesome. Thanks for coming on out. - I know. - I had one last one. And like, we play with Army in the Pittsburgh organization. And I feel like he deserved to kind of be more in the mix with sports net. And it just feels like slowly, they've obviously integrating them more. And finally, he finds himself on the hockey night in Canada panel. Or I guess you can't call it that anymore. But we're so happy for him. He's obviously part of our family here at Spittin' Chicklets. What's it been like having them more in the mix in a spot that I think that he deserves? - So funny, last night or a Sunday night after the game, we did a hit into the studio show with Martina and Jesse Fuchs. And I said on the air, I said, Ron's picked up a bill. Kevin's picked up a bill this weekend. I have not you Army. And he picked up the bill last night. It was awesome. - Holy. - That's the first time it's ever worked. You know, I mean, I love Army. He's such an awesome teammate. [BLANK_AUDIO] He really is. I mean, he works a lot between the game notes and the penguins broadcast and the TNT and us. He works a lot, but he's a great teammate. It was funny that, you know, we were staying in a hotel. It was a really good stay. They were great hosts, but for some reason, the key card on his door wouldn't work. So every time he came back to the hotel, a security guy had to walk up with them. It was a room because they couldn't, all the rooms were sold out. They couldn't get up another room, but the key cards didn't work. So he had to be escorted to his room every time we came back to the hotel. This is what a guy was he keeping it on his phone or it was just like it was a faulty one. No, like even the cards, like they had to get the spare that reeks of like juice master. Fuck it with them. That reeks of juice. Oh, yeah. Kevin's not that smart. He couldn't have figured that out. Elliott, I got rowback last question here presented by rowback, uh, go to rowback.com for generous 20% off your first purchase to the end of the week, CHIC L.E.T.S on R.H.O BACK.com. On Saturday night, Nikita Kutcherov, he took over sole possession all time leading score for the Tampa Lightning Hall of Famer Stanley Cups. Why is he not signed yet? I, I also think it's because of the Carlson thing. I do. Um, I just think that it reset it reset everything, um, that, you know, I, I, I don't think there's any unwillingness to sign him. Um, and the tough one for me is, with is the, like, Tampa is, Julian Breeswell is such a vault. And I say that with respect, he gives you nothing. And Kutcherov, like, he's not going to tell anybody, um, the, the, the, the only thing that someone told me is that that's another one. If, if, like Carlson's 18 and, and celebrities 18.8 and nobody's arguing that celebrities worth every penny, like, Tampa, like what's Tampa, Tampa is paid, nobody close to this. And everybody's always taken a bit less there because of the Florida discount, right? What's, like, what do you guys think that number? I don't know if you're, I see a team would be more lost without a player. Yeah. Like, and listen, everything runs through him. Yeah. And, and, and, and those fans, like, he just passed stamp coast, stamp coast has 14 points and 11 games this year at 42 goals last year. Like, there's some, I, I think with them having so much lack of success in playoffs, like, don't let this happen again, because it already happened once. Like, and he's going to be 34 this, what was stammer when he signed a Nashville? Well, double 37, I believe. No. He's probably 37. No, it wasn't. He's, he, he'll be 37 in February. Oh, so he's in his third year, he's the same age, almost, same age, same situation. So I could see, cool, I'll be in so mad and sign in Florida with the, oh, my goodness. I think you just give him the seven times 18 and get it over with. Who gives a fuck? Seven at 30. Yeah. Who cares? Like, what are you going to do? I agree. See, this is what I've been saying or trying to think about what the solution is to this. I could see Tampa saying, because remember what they did with stamp coast, they offered him six times two and a quarter, two and a half, which they knew wasn't going to work. But they tried to say, we'll give you term or we'll give you the number, but we're not giving you both. I could see, that's my opinion. I could see Tampa doing that. Yeah, like three years at 20 or at seven years at, yeah, I would, like if I was Tampa and I was in charge, I would do that. Like, what if it's four times 20 boys, I bet you they don't want to do that. But that's what I might. He plays at 70% in a sense of how much like it's, it's, it's, it's, it's cerebral while talk about lack of playoff success though. He has him in greats. Maybe that's on breeze. Boas mind. I don't know. I'm like, no, I'm just thinking on out here kind of, but I knew, and I guess before that, I said that was last question, but we didn't really dive into Quinn Hughes. You must feel like this is deja vu, because it's kind of the same thing as last year. Brandon Vancouver was bad and Minnesota is very good, but you're just, you're just catching up with everyone and just doing the same old song and dance again, huh? Well, you know, Quinn, like, I, I really like Quinn. I, I really do. Um, I'm, I think there's a little bit of him that, like you guys know him, when I watch him and he says, my feet are right here right now, like some of it to me is like, he wants to prove that everybody says I can't do this. He wants to prove he can do it. Like he can play with this hanging over him. Oh, he doesn't care. Yeah, the game's so easy for him. Yeah. Like, a lot of guys can't do that. I, I, I think he's the kind of guy who's motivated to show you guys don't think I can play with this hanging me over my head. Oh, yeah, I, I can't. And also to make it, make it, make it right for Billy G and the fact that he put him in a great situation, like as in like hopefully, hopefully deliver a cup from Minnesota and then get to live out his dream to go play with his brother's like, I think he wants the world and fucking, who's going to keep it from him? Well, I, I think that's part, I think that's partially it. Like, is he, like, does he 100% know what he wants to do? That's my biggest question. Probably not. Right. I mean, like, looking at the way we are, like he's in a great spot. He's got his brother. So I could see him being like, I don't even know. I'll, I'll say this though, guys, like this, this thing, like hell about happening, like two or three days after the report got out, the larkening that in the Devils to his trade list. It's like the Devils over the next 60, the Pass, he's going to be, it going to be out of his mind. But the Devils over the next six to eight months could be the most fascinating team in the league. Is that a little nugget? Is that a crumb for us? Well, no, it's just to look at it. Like, it's, it's all hypothetical bids, but larken gets at it to the, the adds the Devils to his trade list. They trade for hellowbuck, which makes them better. There's, I mean, it's impossible not to look at it until this all settles. So if you had to take a, a top three team list of where Dylan Larken ends up, what would it look like, starting from top to bottom? So my, I, I still, I still think Minnesota, I would still think Minnesota and even though they're not in his list right now, like I think of Montreal, my theory on Montreal is if they, if they made a trade that with Detroit, that Detroit really liked, they would go to Larken and say, okay, Montreal's guys are great offer that we want to take. Let's seriously think about it. I would have, it would have to be hage and I don't think much well trade them. I don't know, no, I, I think it's got, it has to be around the center. It had, whether it's an NHL center or a young center, it's got to be around the center. That's got to be the key piece. I also think they should bring in Larken's wife to give her like a spa day weekend to be like, Hey, this is like this city's for you. They got to like happy wife, happy life, right? If you bring a wife, is that considered tamper? Great question. No, no, as long as you have permission to talk to the player, I think you can do that. I don't think that Detroit would ever give permission unless there was a trade they like. I would just DM the wife and say, Hey, we sent the jet, we're going to fucking bring in your stand at the ritz. We got a massage for you. You're going to get the man he petty. We'll get you with every, every single restaurant that Chef Hughes has got you're going to and you're eating first class dinner every night, best wine on the house. I think that's, you got to, you got to get to the root. I think you just ruined Ken Hughes's secret plan. Oh, okay. I love all the much y'all reporters, but all the much y'all reporters are booking spa visits right now to see if the Larkens are there. My last true question and it's yes or no and no details. Okay. Have you heard anything recently that would be monster news that could come down the pipeline that nobody knows about what you know, not like lately. It's all been Hello, Buck, Larken, and Vincent, there's, there's, I don't see anything yet. There always is something that comes though. I just couldn't believe Pizz didn't bring up Sid going somewhere, but thank you for your time, Ellie. I have not heard. I've shown a lot of growth over the last spot. He said he wouldn't do it. He's the man of his word. You did promise that. All right. Elliott, you're the best man. I saw you and your success and you're the man. So have a great one. All right, guys. Have a great day. The Elliott Friedman, awesome conversation. Good catch. He actually broke news in the middle of the interview, I don't know I got some breaking news. I could just got shipped to my house, a bomb from a senator's fan. Oh, the exact opposite recess. Oh my god, take five. I was doing this a variety pack. And then Reese's, Reese, look at big boy, big boy. Reese is joining up with Oreo to create that like a way. Did you mention, did you mention the, uh, the pumpkin, the pumpkin shaped ones? I think these are the best ones. Yeah, they're, it's like the trees. They're just like golden and bats. I would, okay, so first of all, I didn't know take five was Reese's all. And I would say one, a very, very, that's like a greetsuke of, of, uh, candy bars. Because the, the, the, the, the, the, the score, everything, the pretzel, the pretzel and the salt, the crunch, salt, the crunch and the salt. What are the, under the, that's one. I've never had one. Should I do one right now? Yeah, live taste testing. And put one through your computer screen. Give me five, give me five. This is kind of a beautiful way to start out the Leafs Euler's conversation, which withspin avoiding all pot. I bet you there's people who are fuming at the fact that you haven't had to acknowledge, although you did come, how was it? Yance phenomenal. You guys are so right with the, yeah, I'll take five, salt, unbelievable, the salt, the crunch, the crunch of the pretzel. Wow, I'm gonna, I'm gonna come. Um, bass. Listen, as I said on spaces, there's 84 games now in the season. We were buzzing. Carolina came into town. See you. Minnesota came into town. See you. And Toronto came in. And I before the game said, I don't remember a time when the Euler's beat the Leafs in Edmonton. And even in Toronto, Toronto seems to really have their number in the regular season. Now, we're in different conferences. And once your playoffs get going or your old team's playoffs gets going, things just fall apart terribly. If they even get in, we're a squad who went to back to back cup finals and lost to an amazing juggernaut of a team, both years in row and the Florida Panthers. So all things being equal, like, we're, we are on a totally different planet than the Toronto May plays Saturday night. That was not in what's in what sense and keep in mind, this is coming from a non bias perspective. But I would say that a lot of people who are listening to this podcast are probably very grateful that you and all your Babcock and Euler's propaganda was humbled in your building with louder Leafs chance than Euler's chance. Like like the Leafs, they were great. They always went in there. It's great. Humboldt you guys. Yeah. Well, we have something going well, they were up seven, too, right? Levi Levi. They were going back and forth with like, let's go. And then go Leafs go like that. Toronto's always been like that there. We have some issue brewing with like the building not being full in Edmonton. Like that has been talked about by us. It's all over social media. There's pictures during games where you can't believe how many empty seats there are. The price is there a lot. Like whatever that. Yeah, I can give you that. They won't seven, too. So obviously the amount of. No, there is no 10 of no Devon Levi. Okay. All right. No Matthias at home. Okay. No Matthews of boy. All right. We had guys out as well. We can't be doing the injury game. Both teams at the injury game are being our goalie who's dominated. Tristan Jari. I mean, we were in one. The minute I saw I'm starting. Okay. That's not. I don't know if that guy's still in NHL goalie. I feel bad saying that, but like it's been a struggle for quite a while. He'll be the one leading about the title game want to play off with you saying that. Yeah. If that happens because it's not just one guy. It would be Levi and Anderson. Then yeah, that would be that would take the cake for me in terms of being wrong on something. Still one of the worst trades. Like in recent memory, why they would just like money and money out, like Skinner's deal was coming up. Doesn't make sense, but that's not here nor there. Now I will say that like the whole like. Like all like we're off to such a better start because Babcock's the coach. Well, fucking you guys got the whole off season off because you guys lost in round one. You guys are way fresher. And you're off to a good start because we're not as fresh as the Leafs. They didn't even make it. Buddy, you're playing McDavid 25 minutes a night against the Carolina Hurricanes. The guys got 33 points and fucking 10 or 11. So it's working. He went to overtime. It would have been that much and oilers off to this start. They fucking got the they got an alien playing first line center who's got 33 points. He's about to break. Gretzky's fucking record. They got Leon who's 10 points behind him who's still on pace for 180 points. They got Evan Bouchard who's fucking snapping around. He's got 20 something points. Like come on here, man. This guy didn't reinvent the wheel. He's just playing them together. They're playing a different style hockey. The other night was an exception. They're giving up way less high grade A scoring opportunities. They're winning the defensive battle. They're playing completely different. You were saying the exact same thing to me. They have three superstars. They had a bad game on a Saturday night against Toronto. They're leading their division right now. You think I'm going to worry about one game out of 84 games. It's sad. I'm I'm pushing back on the propaganda. Well, you were on my side like 10 days ago. You're like the cock. This guy's a genius. You were wet because I was getting brainwash. You were shoving it down my throat. That was one game. It should buddy. If they lose to Detroit tonight, on Thursday, when we record, it'll be a way different conversation. Another former team that he was a fucking asshole at that. Well, not everyone to everyone that want to stand the cup for him in Detroit was he an asshole. Some guys, yes, some guys in maybe seeing different therapists for some of his. Some guys love them. Some guys loved him. Some guys loved playing for him. So I have nothing. We got worked at home. We got worked at home by a team that looks really good right now. The Leafs look good. They got they I'll tell you, we didn't even bring it up when they went and by the way, Stetcher looks like Dylan Gunther now. The guys fucking sniping quick, releasing two games in a row. When they who did they beat when he scored late in the third period on third. They came back and they were they won with I think it was a Tampa. No, it was a fuck. They came back in that game. Is it Buffalo? And they scored with like a minute left, Stetcher, right? No Rangers. Rangers. Okay. We didn't bring up the bench when he scored that. It looked and we saw a guy Rosal tweet like this might be a this might be a true team, a true locker room. They might have something brewing here. They got the spirit. People may laugh like at a reaction from the bench at a big goal, but they were going bananas. And this whole McKenna celebration thing that he's brought from Penn State, Pinky's up and down. I don't know what it is, but it looks cool with all of them doing. And they came into Emmington. They worked us. Now, Mick David still at two points, Leon still had two points. So like, that's cool in terms of them chasing down records, I guess. Should we, should we double risk Pablo? Yeah, he's been what's he got nine goals, but you talk about them, you know, being a team, it just looks like they're all having so much more fun. Pablo, probably my number one guy for a change from year to year, him with a smile on his face, scoring goals, celebrating when other guys score. I don't know if like he's just got found as a new found love for the game. I think it's healthy. Yeah, that's probably a huge that the Chinese peptides in them. Are those non traceable? Are the Chinese? I don't know. I think Kim Jung, Batman, Batman sent him a care package this off season and he looks like his old self. He looks like he's his MVP self. I said on my, my video the other night when I was full on depressed, Stella got his groove back. And it's awesome to see. I'll always be a Pablo guy. Yeah. But it's also like the rest of the guy, like, finally, they got a fourth line contributing. Do you home? You played with McEwen, right? In Philadelphia, you said he's a beauty for a big guy. He skates really well. I mean, unreal goal the other night where he battled it out of, out of mid air. That do him like he's great. You could, he helps kill penalties like he's tough. He'll chuck up. He's like a gun in half the way, like a, who's your buddy in Vegas now that was in Washington for a fly. Nick, um, Nick Dow, like that type of play. Those guys suck to play against him. Yeah. McEwen's humongue. He probably six, four, two, twenty flies. We were, I was on a group chat with, uh, Van Riem's dyke, Farah be hazy. And we were talking about his first practice in Philly. He came down undressed somebody in scored of wrist shot. He has the hardest snapshot you've ever seen in your life. Topshop on my, oh my god, this guy might get 50. And then you turn around and he's fistfighting someone. So he does, he, he can do it all. Like he's got enough skill that contribute, uh, when need be, but he'll also drop the mits and fight anyone. So I think the two highest scoring offseason acquisitions right now are the, are, if you trade or acquisition, Rossavik and Marchenko. Rossavik's a great thing. I'm glad you brought him up. Why is he on a one year deal every year coming to the end? It's insane. What are we missing here? I don't know, man. He's, he's, he's, he's got to be doing some dark shit off the ice or something. But every year, it seems like, oh, Rossavik's comes in late. It's a one year deal. I'm like, uh, can this guy get a couple, a little turn? Yeah, do you think, do you think Tarana would, would extend him show him a little lie? I think he's good buddies with Pablo, like you see clips of him and Pablo, like chocolate on the bench. And obviously they're going to do anything they can to keep Pablo happy so he resigns there, which can happen this off season when Judd, okay, is it? Uh, but yeah, like, I think that that's the type of team that he'll end up resigning and finally getting his, uh, his long turn deal. But I agree with you. And like, I think Edmonton put Stetcher on, on waivers. So what a pickup from Toronto and talk about a guy who's really, uh, embodied and embrace the city. He had unreal quotes post game after that goalie scored against the Rangers where it's like you feel like you're, you're playing for more than just the, the, you know, the team and, the jersey you're putting on, but you feel like you're representing a whole city. So very, you know, as much as I'm off the wagon, I'm very, very happy for what they got cooking in Toronto, because that's just me being the better person here. Stetcher after, I don't know if it was after before one of the games was talking about how he's playing with Riley. And it's so cool, because like, he looked up to him so much growing up. He was saying he was like second overall in the dub draft, fourth overall in the NHL draft. So for a kid from, you know, Western, it's like, oh my god, this is the guy. And now he's partners with them. And I think he was, was he signed like, because he was skating at like North Dakota this year during training camp. When was he signed G? I think they brought him in late, but, but he, yeah, that kid's like a honey badger for defense, but he's just always in the mix. I like his game a lot. And he's now he's a complete sniper somehow. So show no choice, Stetcher. When is Anderson set to come back? Is there? I don't think for a while. I thought I saw like December at one point, but like we have Levi. Now when is he coming back? I don't even know what's going on there. What is, is it common for a goalie to have that, that strip in the middle of the helmet painted? He's got a painted orange. For whatever reason, I love it. I, I love Levi. I like his attitude. It seems like the guys love him as celebrations. He's got the type of, of charisma and attitude that I agree with you with. He could be the guy leading him out in playoff time where he just got that mojo. When he gets confidence, he seems like he's dangerous. You think he's a true number one or you think he's a bandaid number one? I just feel like he, like, I don't know, man, I, I, I hope maybe this is just me being an idiot and I keep doing the comparison game. Like he's got that grant furor in him where it's like, hey, he might lead in four, but he ain't letting in the fifth, you know, he, it might not be a true. Let's compare him to Hall of Famers. Yeah. Well, let's see what Anderson comes back to Anderson's want to Stanley Cup last year. Gratsky's probably listening to this right now. Pukin. Yeah. You're comparing them. By the way, Stetcher signed June 29th, so I don't know what the hell I'm talking about. No, in Edmonton. I just compared it. Definitely by the graph. You're I know. Pretty sure Edmonton is speaking in North Dakota this year. It might be thick. I'm, I'm, I'm completely, I'm coming off a tough loss Saturday night. What else we got? Oh, I saw this stat. I sent it over to you guys that, um, Macklin, Celebrini boys. This guy is off to one hell of a start. He has 193 points in 162 games so far in his career. Uh, if you hop into a time machine and go back to 2017, 2018, um, Connor McDavid, after his first 162 career games, I believe, gee, what is it? Macklin, Celebrini has 193 points in 162 games so far in his career. Hop into a time machine, travel to the 2017, 18 season. I'm reading this unbelievable right now and see how many goals, assists and points Connor McDavid had after his first 162 career games. Surprised question mark. And I'm going to read this out. Oh my god. I am buzzing. So goals after that amount of time. Uh, Celebrini leads that category 75 to 59. The assist category, Celebrini has 118 at that point. Connor had 130. So if you total those up, Celebrini has 193 points compared to McDavid's 189. So four more points than McDavid had. Uh, the points per game is at 1.19, uh, where McDavid was at 1.17 and the pp points where Celebrini leads that category 63 compared to 50. And that's at age, Celebrini's two 20 years, 133 days. McDavid was a little bit older at 20 years old, 342 days. So that is, that's crazy. That's, he's on a higher point per game pace and I would also argue that Celebrini's played with worse teammates and worse players compared to McDavid, but luckily for Celebrini, that's gotten better. So uh, we're witnessing more greatness as this lead continues to get more and more on fire. That's from Roman Jed Lica, who's a play by play announcer for the NHL and Czech Republic compliment to you, but you're always so good at citing the sources. Sometimes I forget the site. No, yeah, I just, I just want to thank you for inviting me as well, but also journalism. Uh, also question, army asked, though, what was said through 163 games? I think he might have been around 230 because points because he had a hundred is first year and a hundred is first year and I owe 120 a second year. And that's hundreds, that's 164 games. If he played all of them, then. So he's the thing, the thing with McDavid is that then he really started going nuclear. Yeah, that's what I was going to ask you. Think Celebrini has the ceiling that McDavid does would. I mean, we see yes. All right. So he doesn't have that speed, but yeah, that's what I don't know. Like he competes. He ain't slow. No, but nobody's McDavid. He is going to have to do with how these other guys like Stenberg and other guys progress around me. So if he gets a Leon because like as good as Will Smith is, he ain't Leon, um, you know, he's better looking and McDavid could go to San Jose in a year. That's true. Leon is a stallion. So said had 222 points through his first 160. Like, fuck you guys. I'm the goat. I got three cops when it was harder to get points, too. Like said, doing that back then, like Jamie Ben won the scoring title one year with 70, didn't he? Yeah, I think it was. I know. Was he? Did he? Did he? I think he got the, the rock of Richard trophy with like 30. No, he won the points race in the last game of the season. Yeah, it was like 71 points, I think. No, it was. Yes, he did. I think it was 80, maybe 80 points. I don't know. It was 87 points in 2014, 2015. What the hell was going on in the lead? Sid, Sid must have been out that year, right? Yeah, obviously. That might have been the year he had Sid. The one year Sid went out. He was on a pace for like what would have been his highest ever, I believe. But where the hell was everyone else in the league that year? I don't know. Well, you tweeting something three minutes ago about this judge that looks like you is comical. Bro, buddy, let me see it. Can we pull this video up of this guy? Let me see it. I just was on my computer and somebody goes, this you, or no, somebody wrote, why is this judge drying when he six? I started laughing. I sent it back to him and I read like that's, I'm looking at this. I'm like, that's me. I don't even remember becoming a judge. Can we say that? Can we see it? Yeah, here. Yeah, look at this guy. That's kind of, it's better when he's talking. Like, I don't know if you can't play the video. But I mean, the hair is obviously identical. But other than the diet, what is the outfit? Where is this guy a judge? That's got to be England. No, I think that's when they sign the Declaration of Independence. Yeah, that's true. He's a factor. What do you guys make of when they ask William Nielander about league events like the Brady could chuck going back to Ottawa and he just has no clue as to what's going on. So fucking funny. I don't even care to watch every second of the game and just played dumb. That was so funny. He was like, I don't know. You guys tell me I didn't watch. I have my Halloween costume now. Oh, yeah. And you know what the best part about it? You watch one second, by the way. Hey, at the best part of our, if you pull it back up, it's all Reese's colors. Oh my gosh, shit. Dude, he are imbecing a Chris Brown. He's doing Chris Brown dressed like this. Chris Brown. I don't know if that guy's a great guy. I don't think you want to update your, your, your, your dog. No, who would that judge or Chris Brown? No, Chris Brown. But you might have a few bangers and he obviously could tear up a dance floor, but I don't know if you want him. How about that video? It's scyfully naming anyone he's asked in the NHL what they, which way they shoot what color tape they have and the tape job. I could do that with teammates, Cox. Yeah. There's already been an article written about me doing that at BU. So I'm with you. Now, when you go through the video, very impressive because he's like, gab McKenna white tape lefty. Just has tape on the toe. When he went to Porter, Marton, though, and said, righty white tape, tape the entire brave and uses the puck on the tape. I was like, spray tape. Porter, Marton's played 20 games. That's crazy. With you, you can tell everything. one, which way they shot though, no? Yes. Let's do it here. I'll pull up done this. You could ask me anyone. All right, can we ask them like random, random sortini, righty color tape? Can you do that or no? He might have been a guy that was switching back and forth. All right, no, let's do this. Let's do this. Grats you. Oh, fuck. Wayne is lefty black tape baby powder. Mario. Right. Oh, miss. What are we doing here? Biz, we're doing holiday fucking lady. I want to waste my time. I'll sit here. You want to talk about gob your lefty. People want to have gray. Would you go to the all time leading scores list? Yeah. Ryan with me lefty. Ovechkin mute him, righty. Somebody else give me a great fear. He was a silly cider. So technically, that's a righty stick, right? Yeah, but he shot lefty, I think. He turned it over. Yeah. Wait, so is it just like as soon as you see it, you remember it? Yeah, it's bizarre. Can't believe you got a level of autism or like Asperger's or or possibly, but I would ideally be able to do this with like things that like matter to me. Like, you know, I see a bunch of things like my wife does. And then I don't remember Boyd Gordon. Righty Kyle chip chura lefty. See, I don't even know if these are correct. So they are. There's one person you can name. I standberg lefty. Hagens lefty. Babcock. Big cock. It, it leans a little to the left. I've been told Trevor Connolly lefty. Shafer lefty. Michael Haley lefty. Yeah, lefty. Derek Boudreau, a kid that you played with growing up lefty. So hairy. So fast lefty. I think I know how to. So bomber lefty lefty should have been D1 should have been D1 Charlie Conway and mighty ducks. He was both. Okay. Yeah. They changed him on breakways. He'd be I think overall he shot. Righty, but then they hadn't be a lefty on a breakway. That one, I might be wrong. Adam Banks. Adam, Adam Banks, they also switched around. He was a righty though, like when he was really good on the hawks before they got him. Bass brother Fulton Reed. Fulton Reed out of lefty can. And he set up the puck in the bucket back alley when he was smoking crack and he was ripping the knucklepucks. Jonathan Cheachu, righty fish. Goldberg. Goldberg. Goldie. Goldie. Goldie's, I actually won't sit here and say I know he shot one. Oh, no, that was I think he was a lefty when he took off the mask and did. No, that wasn't him. That wasn't him. That was the other kid. That was the black. That was the street hockey kid. Oh, what about Joseph Stumpel? Righty. Lester Averman number four and mighty ducks. The nerds glasses. I don't remember. Who's rust hyalurgy? No idea. Is that a character? Dean. Dean Portman. That's the kid who did the knuckle puck. Yeah. Portman was a lefty too. The fact that you got the mighty duck chargers is crazy. What about the Wayne from Wayne and Garth from Wayne's world. They played ball hockey. That is unbelievable. I think we got him. I think you got me. One was a goalie. So who is the goalie? Why would you? Why would you get me a gun rack? I don't even own a gun. You can't you don't know the guard. I don't even remember that. They were playing balls. I don't remember the sea. I mean, I remember them saying where they went. Yeah, that was the world. He never had a car. I don't think. Oh, yeah, they were playing. Clark. Ritzwald was playing hockey. No, he had the Ritzwald shirt on. Oh, oh, oh, carny, the prime minister of Canada, when he when he jumped on the ice with the oilers. Oh, my God. What was he? I don't know. Pierre Bissonette. I don't go. Pierre Bissonette. He only drives cars with his left hand. Okay. When I said carny, it made me think I just wanted to congratulate the province of British Columbia. It voted conservative for the first time since I believe 1933. Wow. Yes, things are changing in Canada and people are starting to wake the fuck up. And I'm very, very happy. And keep in mind like when I say conservative, like it's essentially liberal, but they just say conservative. We're talking because the the liberal one is so gone liberal that like the now the conservative is like old liberal. That's normal. It's right down the middle, buddy. They're I'm telling you, it's normal. See, that's what needs to happen in Canada. And I'm so happy and so proud of the people of British Columbia to vote in the conservative party to implement some change to get things back to normal. There has to be a bit of change going on to Canada. I love my country. Guys, it's obviously falling off a little bit in some regard. I love Canada. I love my country. And I, you know, I think that we could all admit that there's some things that need to be cleaned up. And I'm just so grateful. Like that's a, like obviously, I'm from Ontario, but now when I go back every summer, I spend my summers in British Columbia. I, I'm very excited for the change that is going to happen. And hopefully they can execute. And, and yeah, G wrote in the chat, Karne, he's part of the liberal party party. I don't say he's a lefty, you guys ask which way shoots the puck. So I think he also leans a little left as far as his politics, but he's also, he ain't fucking true. I'll put it that way. But once again, I'm excited for what's ahead for the, for the country of Canada. And hopefully people are starting to open up their eyes to where change is needed. And I'm just proud to say that that happened. Would you rather every province in Canada votes the way British Columbia did recently? Or it stays as it is now in a team in Canada wins the cup this year? Oh, well, I, I mean, as much as I want to stand, they come to come back to Canada. I care about my country as a whole. Like there's more important things in hockey. But as of right now, obviously, Albert, Alberta doesn't need to separate. I think there was just frustration there from a lot of people where they do want to see change. And you can correct me if I'm wrong, does Alberta? They cover a lot of the country financially, correct? Yeah, I think that there's like obviously because of natural resources, like they are a big, big provider. And yeah, and I think that right now as it stands, it's Alberta, BC, obviously Saskatchewan are all conservative. But once again, when I say that and like, obviously, you got some left-wing lunatics in Canada who are like, oh, my God, it's like, what do you, we're talking like normal down the middle is what conservative party is. So Ontario is also conservative as well. But when I say that, that's still very, very liberal. Manitoba is green party and/or NDP right now, which is kind of shocking because they're like a I consider them a Western province. And then I think the only liberal province right now is it sits might be New Brunswick. So like I said, like we don't need to go into detail here. And I think you guys know that like I have a lot of empathy as a human being. So you would probably consider me a liberal person. In 1980s, you would be considered an enormous liberal. Yes, it's just kind of gone just changed. I think now like in the United States, like people who are not crazy Republican right wingers, but they're more on the on the on the softer end of Republican would probably be considered liberals years ago. Yeah, I just like I sometimes like will watch an entire video on my algorithm. So then I'll get handed like all these other political algorithms. And then like 30 minutes later, I'm like, dude, I got to reset everything. I can't doom scroll and watch all this shit. Especially as a judge. That's fucking that hair piece is incredible. Do you think because I looked so old when I was like 12 that I'll that when I'm like 75, I'll look so young. Yeah, yeah, Benjamin button. Like do I look do I look really old for 43? No, no, no, right now you look great. Can I play you a quick sound bite of like how crazy things got in Canada and keep in mind the guy who the guy who won in the conservative party in BC. The thing that they're stressing the most is normal. We just want things normal. Yeah, this was the this was one of the seats that a girl on Vancouver Island. So there's two two seats that the green party won. This was the and keep in mind she won a seat. This was her her speech after she had won one the seat and people are losing it on her and rightfully so this is how crazy it's It's gone. We are the only. party who is equipped to stand against the Conservatives and their existence. You know, she's this woman, this woman, Emily, when she's getting slaughtered for this, the Conservative Party won the majority. People are fed up with what's going on to that point. This guy, what happens in Canada is you're allowed to call these snap elections. So the original leader of the Conservative Party, or it was a woman, excuse me, I think that like there was turmoil within the party. So they replaced the woman with this guy who ended up winning and you're allowed to call a snap election and the guy did and then he got throttled just because of how ridiculous. So he thought he thought they could, he could just fleece it and win, win the seat for the next four years and then boom, it turned on a dime, probably the best thing that could have ever happened to the province of BC. So I know we don't typically get into politics here, but I'm just really happy that that a province that I'm going to live in once I'm retired has changed its leadership. So shout out to shout out to Canada, baby, you get to still exist. We get to still exist. It's always a win if you get to exist, yeah, it's huge. What else do I have on my mind? I got nothing else. That's the last thing I wanted to mention. I put rider up and forward this weekend. You know how you skate so much more forward. I'm like, oh, he's got to get it skate. Let's put him up and forward. Now he plays with my, I coach it's one of my best buddies, Brendan Bern, there's four of us, but he's one of the coaches. So we put him and his rider and his son on the same line. So at the end of the game on Sunday, we were up a goal and they were out there for like a minute and a half. You know the shifts at this age, they're so long and rider came off the bench and like, there's like 30 seconds now and he like slides down the, it comes off the ice slides down the bench. He's like, he's like crying, but like, and like also crying, I was like, what happened? What happened? I'm also like trying to watch games like, I can't breathe. Bunso's like, welcome to forward. Oh, it's like, this is a good spot for you, buddy. We got to, we got to build your window so that made me laugh. The other night I went out with a couple buddies, grabbed some beers, watched the football Saturday night and there's this guy at the bar and I'm like, to my buddies, I go, dude, that's Vince Young told him it was Vince Young, so my buddies like, holy shit, I was a huge Texas fan growing up. I got to go say hi to him. I'm like, yeah, 100%. He goes up to him and goes, hey, would you like better high school football, call it football or pro football? The guy looks at him. He's like, I never even played football with the fucking you talking about. That's racial profile and motherfucker. Oh, my God. I went to the casino Thursday night with some friends and, and we were playing, how'd you do? The casino night is sad. That's the general. Well, no, it was funny. Like, we did something. She had like some friends over Tuesday and then she did something else. And then I was like, no, she like built a mosque on room. It doesn't even play anymore. But I said, I haven't seen my buddies in a while. I'm going to try to get everyone together. And so it was Friday night. Sorry. She's like, oh, yeah, great. Perfect. So we got, I got three other guys and we were on fire. Like everyone was winning. Like, and this is probably 30 minutes in and all of a sudden the dealer, I'm sure this has happened, obviously, but of 13 hands, she got 21 11 times. What? You breed it? The dealer. Oh. He's dealing. I was really shocked, sorry, I mean, though she was, she was at the wedding, man, she had a tando on geez wedding. She looked sorry, and we all got cleaned out and we all got cleaned out on different hands. And then the final one was, I think, falls was final. And he was going to quit. Cause like the other three were gone. He's like, I'm going to keep whatever I have here. And he had, he had 20 against a six and she flipped over five. So I'm like, dead. But then she flipped over five. So then she had 16. Then she flipped over five again. So that was, it was just a classic, like just walking out of there and keep set it best. There's no worse trashier feeling than walking out of a casino after getting cleaned out. You're just like, oh, what a loser. But now that you bring that up, there's a clip. I don't know which, which show Charles Barkley was on. But he was talking about how he like took a two or three year hiatus from gambling. He said that he, there was seven nights in his life that he won a million or more gambling. And about 30 to 35 of nights, he lost a million or more gambling. He said, no, no anxiety for, it was, it was a pretty funny clip though, because he was like talking about how he would like be talking to his financial advisors and they'd be giving him shit. And then to the point where he'd be like, hey, you better shut the fuck up. Or I'm going to fire your ass like, like, but thankfully for his post NBA career. But I think at the prime of his career, he was making like five million bucks. Well, he was doing this while he was playing. I think that there was times when he was playing that this was going on, buddy. So you're talking about losing it after tax dollars. One third of your yearly salary in a night of gambling, he said that he, he, like one of the first times he like had a big night, he went over a million bucks. So that was the threshold where he was like, oh, well, so he would be up three, four hundred grand. And he's like, I'm not stopping till I get to there. So next thing, you know, it's like he would, you know, be down three, four, five, and next thing, you know, he's down a million bucks. And then he would walk away. And his, yeah, man, could you imagine 25 times, no, buddy, being on the wrong side of that based on your, your average of a million dollar swings. So he's probably in the, in his life, I mean, Porto is probably lost 15, 20 million dollars to. I think I asked him one time. I was like, don't ever ask again. I would say that Barclays lost 20 to 25 million dollars easily gambling in his life. He'll talk about it. He did on, he did in that clip. We got to have him on again. All right. We got a long pod here. We're back. We're back Friday with you guys. Devon Cooley. Can't wait to talk with him. Thank you to Elliot. Thank you to you guys. Pasha. Congratulations. You got a goalie. And everyone. And these are buzzing. Yeah. I know you guys are buzzing. You guys are buzzing. So we never talked about R.A. sleeping in his car after that concert. Let's start calling it up next. Okay. All right. We'll see you guys every Wednesday game notes, new needs to see you on Friday. [MUSIC PLAYING]
