Spittin' Chiclets Episode 675: Featuring Kevin Hayes

The podcast blends product promotion with intense sports commentary, highlighting Ryobi’s extensive line of cordless tools for outdoor and home use, and Abercrombie’s updated fall apparel collection featuring premium fabrics. The host dives into a detailed critique of a basketball tournament, focusing on a controversial playoff loss to the Stranglers, where officiating errors, questionable decisions, and player safety issues are heavily debated. A central point of tension involves Terry Ryan’s leadership, with the host questioning his team selections, medical checks, and accountability, ultimately concluding that the team’s performance and culture have reached a breaking point. The discussion also touches on the extreme physicality and fan engagement in ball hockey, particularly in Quebec, where players engage in criminal-level physicality and intense rivalries. Despite the turmoil, the host expresses admiration for the passion and dedication of fans and players alike. The "Big Deal Selects" team is officially disbanded, signaling a shift in team dynamics. The episode ends on a reflective note, emphasizing the importance of team unity, player well-being, and long-term growth, while acknowledging the emotional toll of failure and the resilience required in competitive sports.

Me and Ryan have been officially welcomed to the jungle that is basketball sports. I brought it toward the coyotes and I asked them if it was okay if I joined the spit check with podcast full time. No, a little bit annoying. Ryan Whitney's got a pink Whitney out there now. He can handle the song, man. It's a full time member. Marley just got an assist from Chris Bate. Whoa, we're buzzing right now. What is up folks, welcome to episode 675 of the spit and checkers podcast presented by Reese's Cop. Well, just Reese's, but the cops and the peanut butter cops. I mean, you know, when I say Reese's Cop, it's the peanut butter cop. These things were everywhere. Check it. It's called this weekend. And the winning team of the street, it was neither one of them shocker. They were hammering these things, the energy, the enjoyment they get out of it. It was Reese's everywhere. So shout out Reese's. Thank you so much. Can't believe there are a presently sponsor. I will be having one of those in mid show before we before we finish this thing. I got a lot of compliments online for the jersey. The jersey sick. Well, you haven't taken it off. Yeah. And I think we were supposed to sign them and give them away. And you were like, no, I'm keeping this one. Yep. This one is not going anywhere. So Rangers fans. Oh, man, they're a mess. The, the Leafs look great wax and collar out of the other night. The oilers just continue to do, do their thing. Other storylines. But, but this is a check. Let's call it episode. Okay. And you got to understand 84 games now. We got two pods a week. You mentioned Larkin. I didn't even mention Larkin in Montreal fans begging, begging him to come. I actually texted me. He didn't respond, but I get that. It was 10 o'clock at night. Um, check. Let's cut boys and biz. This was our seventh. I was told prior to this one. It's the best team we've ever had. Yantle was coming back with the stranglers. I don't know where to start besides that you lost again. You didn't make finals again. This is your own goddamn tournament. It's the seventh annual, and you remain a true loser on the circuit of street A chick. Let's cup division. I think like people listening will probably think it's a bit at this point. But how could you not? Right. But it's obviously not the way that you see how hard we compete. So we lost to the eventual team from, I mean, I think it was compromised about half from Quebec, half from New Brunswick. The greatest team I've ever seen. It was the same. The St. Louis Rams were the greatest show on turf. This was the greatest show on court. And we brought these guys to the limit. We went down three nothing in the semifinal. We caught our way back. We end up going over time. And we lost in the first shift and over time. And then they went on to end up mercying Yans in the final. So essentially, the semifinals was the finals. So this is what it turned into last night. Folks, this is turned into like the stranglers got mercyed 17 seven. If you're up by 10 at any point the second half game over. So like the ref came over to me. He's like, Hey, if they mercy him, are we calling or letting him play it on? I'm like, Oh, you put the bullet right in the back of their head. And you put them out the pasture. Yeah, you call it. They're getting mercy rule in Boston with, I'd say there was 1200 people at the championship. And it was and it was the most, I mean, if you thought the game seven crowd 2019 in the garden when the blues beat the Bruins was like dead and flat after that first period to nothing. This, this, these poor people who came out, at least they got Reese's. I, I, I, it turned into biz and Keith arguing that the big deal selects took him to OT and that Keith got so biz was like, well, we're better than you. But the stranglers did play the big deal selects and they beat them. So you really have nothing. Okay. Okay. Now what happened in that game, folks, is we scored a legitimate goal. And I don't know what we've done to the officials that we did at Chicolts. I'll give you that one. It's bad. We have never gotten one single call. I don't know if we got one penalty shot. We had guys bleeding. We had guys getting hit from behind the boards. Like, I thought one of, I thought JP Mokwain was going to go home paralyzed after one of the hits that he ends is criminals put on him. No, no call. And we would have won that game was over time out. We should have gone a penalty shot before overtime time out. And then on top of that, we scored a goal to go ahead. No, that was to make it nine, nine. Then you scored another one, which would have had you at 10, nine to win the game. Fassoli had his drone up. We watched the drone footage. You can clearly see the ball hit the back of the net. The ref would not even look at the footage. I said to him, Hey, listen, that went in with, we have live drone. Like we looked at it. It was quicker than the league does into replay. And, and, and, and, and, and he looks away and he's like, it's no goal. I called it no goal. And go ahead. So, you know, that guy despises you. Now, does Terry Ryan screaming at him for seven straight years? Have something to do with that? Possibly. Possibly. I think the, what I can't admit and what I can be truthful about is I think that to some degree, Terry has become a little bit of a liability. Okay. We'll get into that. And we can get into that. But is it true? He's making you pay him to come here too. I'm going to, I'm going to ignore that question. We should have beat the stranglers. We didn't set ourselves up well to go into the semifinals because we've had to play that top team. We end up going nine, nine into overtime. And we had a tough turn over. It was kind of like that was a Billy Smith and Edmonton with Steve Smith started in off Grandfathers leg. I believe it felt like that. It was what and Harry. I think it was Harry. He didn't tear it. I think that it was. It wasn't sudden death. Well, let's get into it. We'll get this saved that for the Terry foundation on money. I was also told leaving last night by Conman who looked me dead in the eye. Thank you so much. Awesome week. I'm like, yeah, awesome week for the selects again. He came up to me. He said the same thing, but he had one thing in mind. He wanted to get off his chest. He said to him, well, the one thing for me after thank you and like, he's the best. Also, let's say it on three. One, two, three, if you don't turn me on the podcast, if you, mine was if you utter my name on that podcast and say anything bad, I'm coming for you in your whole family. Yeah. Yeah. And as a guy who's like, never, I've never seen that guy in a bad mood or anger. I was like, okay, comment. You're your guy. Do you think that's that's him getting ahead of maybe how he felt about his game? Yeah. I don't think his game was great. I think a lot of guys were, you have mokwen. Was it was it a crocker? Crocker was nice. Yeah. Got you. Got some players. Harry and Anderson are great. Like our team is good. I just finished telling you we went to overtime. If we think you went two and four, if we don't, we went to oh and are two one and one. We lost in one game and regulation and we lost one game and overtime to hands that we should have won. So we should have been fucking right. Yeah. You played six games. Five games. We play five games. We should have been three one. No, you didn't. It three games the first day, one the second day. And oh, because you didn't make it to the finals. Yeah, you went five game played six. We're we're three one and one. Should have been three one and one because we should have beat the stranglers. It is just like toss a goals like goals expected to stat like, oh, the devil's won. I look, it's they lose five nothing. I'm like, what do you mean? He's like, whoa, goals expected. We had him. Yes. The last thing I'm going to say right now about the big deal select is it's it's over. It's done. There's no more big deal selects. It's a very sad day because I love I love the team. I love the guys. I know that with in other people are trying to get my ear and trying to write the abituary and trying to get me to stand. I've been trying to do every year. But you're but you there's part of you and I know there's part of you that wants you want me to stab Terry Ryan in the back and get rid of Terry and Terry senior and go in my own direction. Yes, there is that. Yes, there is. That word isn't necessarily correct. I love TR. I love his dad. I love the whole squad. I honest to God. They're great. They're great people. These guys have seen them every awesome people. TR, the TR storyline this year and good for him. He has gone. He's famous full blown Hollywood. To the point where this was the first year, I believe he had you, you know, bring over the colds. I want money to come. You paid him. Good. That's great. Well deserve. Cause he does, well, he does organize a lot. He gets the whole team together. He plays a significant role being GM. I think he's in the hall of fame. He told me that last night. He's a wall hockey hall of fame or what does he organize? He organized this one. Now is that the issue considered in their old for seven or winning possibly? Now then before the tournament, he, I think a week before correct me if I'm wrong. He says, so actually like I got a labor issue. I don't know how much I'll be playing. Well, it turned out there was no point or no chance he was going to play one shift. He never played one shift. He warmed up. And then I noticed I said, wait, what's going we're in the locker room after and he had strapped up his shoulder brace. He had his knee pads on and he knew he wasn't going in and the check it already been deposited, direct deposit. It might even been cash. And next thing, you know, this guy is not only not playing. He's bringing another loser team. He's then in charge of an incredible hockey game that's going into overtime in the semi final. They got to get to the final. And he starts three of his, I'm not gonna say weaker players, but not his three top dogs. So he starts the wrong guy. So I'm sitting there. I'm like, why are these guys on the court? They lose on one of the worst turnovers ever. Harry. Great guy had behind the net for like 30 seconds. And then his decision at the end was just like put a soft like muffin rim around the words that a guy picked off. It was a way. Yeah, I don't know if I had that one that bad probably. And after I'm like, Terry, I'm like, Terry, I don't really understand like who you're starting there. And then I get this. Now this is the man that was paid to be here. He brought a losing team for seven, three years. He says, I didn't know a sudden death. How is there in the world? It's not soccer. How in the world did you guys and T.R. Not know. It was sudden death. It's your tournament. Gear one, you lost in sudden death overtime to Rensky. And not to mention, this is why teams do medicals on guys before you trade for them or bring them in. True. True. Should have done a medical on this. So he absolutely flees to that money should not be paid. He should be sending up. But imagine if you like blood tested him before, it's like, oh, well, he's healthy. We can't bring here. Here's the wildest part about T.R. That was the least I've seen him drink and do drugs, although it was still enough drugs and alcohol to kill a baby elephant that he'd done in any chick, let's cup, but he didn't play a shift. So it was kind of weird. Maybe he was trying to set the example, but T.R. has organized and brought me so much joy with this team that I felt like it was, it was the right move to compensate him for his efforts. And well, okay. And now listen, every, the other thing to is he worded it to the official wrong. He went over to him. And I agree. That was one thing that he did eat the bullet on. And he said, I should have known the rules. And I'm like, ah, you think he went to the official and he says, what's going on over time? And the ref goes, it's a five-minute overtime. And then it goes to a shootout. If it's still tied, but he, he should have been like, like, is it sudden death? Like that's should have been the question. Not like what's, what's the overtime? Now for a high scoring event, I actually will say I think it probably should be a set limit, say three minutes or five. And at the end, similar to basketball over time, like whoever's winning wins, right? Because it's so high scoring to have it be sudden death. But I knew it was sudden death. And I've never played a shift in this goddamn tournament. I think slippery hockey tournament in the history of hockey, whether it's yeah, I've never heard a hockey doing that. But I'll do it. Whatever. It's different. Now I'm saying all this because I said this to TR last night. He's like, ah, listen, I think you're an issue. I think if we're looking at this team, it kind of starts with like, you might have to be like, not a part. And Terry, he gave it right back to me. And he said, I'll start, I'll, I'll get my own fucking team then. Now this is where I get hard because it's like, then it's like, wow, who stays with you? Who goes with him? If he comes in as the bad guy with another team, you still have the big deal selects. You have to figure out. There's no big deal. It's dead. It's the IP is dead. It's done just like the beer. It's like, that was the final man on the coffin. We met a kid yesterday from Italy. He flew from Milan to come to check with the cops. Such a nice kid. Great kid. I gave him my whoop bracelet. No, so he's like, we tried. I was like, this is unreal. I can't believe you can't. And he's like, but it's like, give him your jersey and business. Like, oh, this is the last. This is it. This is the only thing I didn't get the last one ever, which by the way, if anyone watched, they were Chicago bulls type jerseys because it was the last dance. Now, if you watched the last dance, the bulls won. They took it down and Michael Jordan knew the rules. Actually, they're six. It was Michael Jordan knew the rules. It was actually their sixth title, not their seventh tournament. I would have tied a lost more times than the bulls one. And funny enough, like every year, seven to six random bar stool people reach out to me batch after check. Let's go. And after the first year was like, oh, like, business team didn't win. Your guys tournament. It's like, no. And then at this point, they're like, no, they lost again. I'm like, oh, yeah, they need to make the finals again. But you have been in a finals for the last two years. I don't understand why we should win it. Like, these kids, these teams are nasty. So like, well, now it's gotten actually, it's pretty impressive. So there is like a major part of East Coast Canada, specifically Quebec that has the nastiest ball hockey player. These kids don't play ice hockey. Like, there was this kid in the tournament number 27. I forget his last KYC. He was on KYC. I couldn't believe how fast this guy's hands were. They didn't miss a tape to tape pass in ball hockey with he ends his coked up, roided out buddies chasing them around on the fucking and that shoebox of a court and jumping subjects real quick. The amount of like criminal like head locks and choke jobs and jabs like, what's he, what's he should legit be in that patty wagon that you guys bought out last night? I swear to God, no shoe on. I'll get one point. He went out on the, he went on in the sheet with no shoe on. And he's yelling, I don't know where my shoe is. Like, you went on, he was bleeding in his body. He was bleeding in his elbow. And they're getting surgery pushed back surgery on his C3 C4 to next week to play in that. Yep. That's how loyal this and they're so fucked up. Like I play with shin pads because sticks are flying everywhere and elbow like some guys wear elbow pads and gloves because you're getting slashed in the hands. These guys refuse versus fuzer, like trying to prove a point. They're like, they're wearing brass knuckles out there as opposed to gloves. Anytime someone with shin pads blocked the shot, our whole bench is, yeah, okay, nice shin pad, jelluzer. These guys are eating. Bosh had the biggest, it cut his skin. The biggest bruise I've ever seen from just taking one of those. And it was gillio, right? So the ball is going to be a little bit harder. And my guys were just wearing these balls. I think that there's a strong, strong hate in a lot of comments, specifically on Twitter. I even see a lot on Instagram of people being like, and then this one might have like three thousand likes. Like these guys have to go to work on Monday. Yeah, yeah. We're, and we're playing for a while. It's holiday. Also in fairness, I brought a writer and why it and Billy Ryan brought his head in Roman to the big deal select. Can we rule this game? No, we got to roll the clip that we're talking about, especially from the angle where you see woods either capitate the guy. Okay, no, not the right. Now we, the game starts and they're right against the boards. They're like guys, like they're sticks are swinging. These are criminals and, and the other team with the redgers on, they've never won a thing in seven years. So just be careful, you know, duck under the boards or kind of move back when they come over. But I'm also thinking like, yeah, it's physical. It's far on the talky. I didn't picture in my mind. I guess that's on me. Take, take the bullet on that one with them being up close and personal to a possible, like, parallelization of somebody with a hit from behind to the boards, followed by death threats, 60 to 70 f-bombs, pussy, pussy yelling, trial services showed up to the point where I was in the middle of it. I was like, and then why it's a, how old do I have to be to swear? I'm like, all right, I don't know if this was a great decision. Portной texts me with the clip. He's like, are those your kids? I'm like, yeah, he's like sick parenting. No, it's spicy. He's, it's spicy. He's consuming our content. Yeah. No, I'm like, oh, yeah, I guess the kids were like, that was, that was rough. Now, apparently, so those Montreal kids apparently, like, anything's called a penalty up there. They don't save this. So for K, it was KYC. KYC was like, for them to win with that was even crazier. But they said, like, yeah, there was, once we saw, and I met those guys Friday night at Park City, they were like, we're going to truck everyone. And I was like, oh, like, so they won the B division last year. They went undefeated. They kept their A players from the B team, went up to the A division, added a couple more A players and then stayed in the B division with some B players. They went undefeated in both B and A again this year. So they're basically unstoppable and they battled through full on criminal charges things, things that could have been like, you could be leaving with handcuffs. cups around your wrist behind your back, we pay the cops to be there. So they're on outside. Well, T.R. paid a part of his bonus for common. Just not the roughs. Hey, why see me? They're on rings last year, too. Check this. Yeah, this ring is like legit. Just like a heavy legit ring. Chicklets, cop. They got done. If you're serious right now, it's done. And put my kids name on that. So, yeah, I mean, it was, it was a hell of a weekend, all incredible time. Three groups. I think the, uh, the women winners, women flight winners, uh, the roller A winners and the street A winners, all teams won five thousand bucks. Murls is as destroyed. I've ever seen him that he didn't win the five because he was in two, he played on two teams lost in the semifinals, both times. They were up nine to four at one point. And they blew it in him on stage, which is to go. I didn't know there was money. I didn't know there was me. We'd be at our point. He was furious. Oh, wait till he finds out. But we got to show to a whoop big sponsor. Everyone had their whoops. The chances of any person on Keith's team wearing a whoop. Like, I don't know if they will, but they went to people who will wear them. No ball recess. They wear them, but they wear them on their, their, uh, okay. They attach it to their ankle. But they said that. Um, the one other cool thing, too, is, um, we've had them on the podcast Craig Fitzpatrick with the Blind hockey. That was great. Um, that's where I originally got introduced to him. So shut out the TNT for even like having them on and me kind of realizing how cool this is that these guys have set up this. That, that was the ice hockey portion. So we, we have kept in touch. Obviously we had Craig on the podcast. So we actually had them come out and they had two teams. They got to play three games. It's really cool. Very similar to on the ice. Like, uh, they have a ball that like has, um, like it just makes noise. So they, so they can hear and like the, you know, they have a different rules where the ref in the offensive zone, you have to complete one pass, the ref blows, the whistle. So you know, it was a complete pass and the goalies and net are blind. Like it's just like, like, you got in the next two with the goggles. You got to put the Amazon. And I got to play. They have these goggles where they play the same. Yeah. Well, that's what I was just saying. I think, uh, the, the, if we did reenter a team mixture, I think we're going to be in that division just to like get some confidence. And fucking, who knows, the way they play. They probably fucking done this too. But, um, but, uh, it's, it was really cool. Uh, they have the goggles that have, um, zero, like our zero to like 5% vision. And then they have the ones that have five to 10% vision. And you can throw those on. And, um, it just kind of gives you perspective on like what these people are dealing with on a day to day basis. And like, the fact that they're out, moving around, loving the game of hockey, like we talk about growing the game, growing the game. Like it's, it comes down to like perspective. And I hope that we're able to even grow that division. Um, so that meant a lot to us. And, uh, that was like, obviously, the one bright spot for me on the weekend. Yeah. Aside from everything else in my team and changes. But I, I will say though, I, there's obviously some temptation, especially after Terry said, oh, yeah, if you fucking walk away from us, we'll put our own team in. But like, who goes with them? I, I would, I'm going to, I'm going to go down with the ship. I learn my lesson from the Mariner situation. I can't just, we got to stick together as a team. You can't sigle one guy out. We win as a team. We lose as a team. Life is about growth. We're done. The big deal selects are done, but who knows? Maybe we'll be back under a different IP and a different, uh, he might have just changed his mind for a guy who in, in all honesty, it has the world by the balls, a handsome guy, an in-shape guy, a very well like person with a big heart. Terry, you a great job. Two great jobs, money, attractive. I mentioned attractive. Thanks. Tan, jacked. You got it all. Everyone loves you. A great guy. Kind hearted person. Oh, thanks. This is tough call right now. It's tough. And, and it's big deal selects, but we knew they will lose it. It's the Leafs looking phenomenal. You quit them. And then we come to Thursday. And there's others, but I'm just going like recent, recent here. I've been on a lot of, I'm considering. I believe that I don't remember the exact quote like, I really consider it hopping on the Rangers band. I had teaching my, I had tingles, tingles and my stuff. Yeah, I'm feeling the itch or the Rangers itch is kind of getting itchier and then, and I swear to God, it was six hours after we recorded. We're sitting up there, looking and e or should start and goes flying into the post. And it looked bad. And I was like, oh, no, they're buzzing off the start of this year. They look great. Things in New York are seeming great and this just said he's going to hop on and their goal is being carried off the ice. He can't put weight on his right knee. This guy, poor person that he cannot catch a goddamn break right now. Everything he touches turns to mush. And this is coming from somebody who has turned so many things into mush. It takes one to no one. I feel you, buddy. I'm on a tough street. You're on a tough street right now. Do you remember how happy Pasha was when you go or went down? Okay, I wasn't going to bring this up. I wasn't going to bring it up. I wasn't happy. No, I mean, you hate to see it. You were excited. It was not a greater risk initial reaction. Sure. But you know, I believe you were, you were like making the gesture of jerking off. No, no, God, no. Did he? I didn't see that. No, no, no. I didn't see that happen. No, no, no. Listen, you want to beat your rival when they're at their best. And, you know, you never want to see someone get hurt. Okay. So we're going to go with, we're going to go with a yes or no question. Yeah. Were you happy when you saw him leaving the game, putting no weight on his right knee? No. Okay, folks. Do we get? Is there a lot of things set up or anything? Pasha's, that's a, that's a, that's a solid devil's fan right there, man. He's just rooting for health and happiness for the Rangers wants to beat him at full strength. No, no, no, not happiness. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Okay. Do him and gloom. But you want. Okay. Fair enough, fair. We got to take the man first word. Yeah. You're going to take the man first word. But now like guys, you got a goal. He an assist. He's been fucking kicking like crazy. He had to assist two games and relatively I would have said that this, that's a plan. They're a playoff team. They got the mojo going. It's a completely different feeling. They got the early win at home. They're getting off fence. We got JT Miller turpentess in the group chat on a daily basis, giving us all time quotes. And then that happens. Boys like, it sucks. I'm going to be honest. Like I'm obviously not having those tingles in my stomach anymore. Like I'm not going to hop on that wagon. But just no, yeah, you can't now. That's not even going to be there for a little bit through the tough times for like just to be there for like, what if they keep going on a run? What's his name? Sorry. And Rangers fans are just discussing with me going back. It was, is it, uh, Gallard, Dylan Garand. Garand. Okay. So from Victoria, BC, business stomping. All right. And Corpus Salos injured, I believe right now as well. Also, Rangers fans, I guess I have to apologize. I don't really mean it. But when I said, um, is he known as a good pop handler? Like, sorry, boys. Like I, I, I wasn't aware he's an elite pop handler. Like they are on me. There are better. But he's really good. Yeah. Like people were like, this is how I know you're a fucking fraud. You don't know shit about this league. You don't know shit about my team. All right. Yeah. I wasn't aware. Igor Shasturken is an above average pop handler. Still, I, I was happy to see them winning and looking good. Maybe they continue. Maybe they can. Oh, yeah. Really? Pasha. Yeah. What a guy you are. It's just, it's just so brutal to not even get the news of like two to three months, right? Like barcov or whatever, six to eight weeks. Like you get just straight freech bomb out for the year. Like that, that is just brutal. And somebody mentioned that, that's how Richter saw that clip. Richter, it was very similar into the post. And I think I don't know. Did it end his career? Yeah. But I don't know if he was ever the same, but that's just kind of what I read. And then I saw that clip. And I was like, Oh, God, damn. I click the ghost of the past. Do you think the ranges are now in a spot where maybe they'd go all in for Helle? No. That was the conversation I didn't get right afterward. But they're both signed long. Why would you give up assets? Like for an item? Yeah. One of them the next year or whatever. Well, Igor has probably got like both of them will have no move causes. That's the one stipulation. I know there was a lot of back and forth, especially when the players being like, these owners need to shut the fuck up because we like they get everything else. And they are the ones who like gave us the no move causes. So like we're going to exercise our rights. If you end up doing what Helle Bucks doing and do get traded, I think then after that, then you should have no trade rights. Oh, so it's like up for a one time thing? Yeah. I think that once you get moved and you do that, it's kind of like then it's like it gets kaybossed. That would be the one rule that I would impose for change. Okay. So you one time and then it's over. Yeah. I don't hate that. I don't hate that at all. Or maybe like you get it for that first year. So you're not like getting moved right away. But I don't know. Well, let's see what the ranges can do. Right? Maybe they're able to kind of get get get a get some other goal-tending, you know, pieces, salt comes back. This kid we're talking about. And they can continue to play some good hockey because it was a nice start. And I as much as I kind of hate to say it because I've talked so much shit on the Rangers. Like when the Rangers and MSG or Buzz and when the Rangers are good, it's pretty electric when they have a team that's in the mix. I mean, that year they went to the conference finals against Florida. All their games were unreal to watch. The legendary picture of Trochex scoring it over time. The camera above them is that like, you know, a Rangers historic moment. I guess recently it is to me, but still brutal, brutal, to see a star goalie just gone for the season now. So that sucks. And this is it. It just no longer is it just gone. Well, one of them. So so Detroit went into Montreal on Saturday night. I believe it was the first time now this tweet could be incorrect. The first time in Canadians history that a goalie had a shut out in, you know, the 60-minute game, the over time and then didn't give up a goal in the shootout. That was foul. First time ever. First time ever. That's what I saw. I love the celebration. I know. I know. Was that like a carry price style celebration almost? I don't remember carrying being like, I don't know his, I don't remember his, I feel like that's new school goal. I feel Mike Smith used to celebrate. Well, when he was giving the interview at the end and, you know, on the jumbo tron, he was just doing this with the halves logo, the places going bananas, like kind of crazy to go to a game and it's you have not seen a puck cross the goal line until the shootout. So but Montreal gets it done. Foul was awesome. But the biggest storyline was the fans making maybe doing their best to get Larkin to throw Montreal on his no trade, on his list of teams that he would be willing to go to because like even before this game and the cheering and we want Larkin, I believe the word you're looking for is serenading serenading with race job is your money right now at everything you do. He said pick a ball. The whole league has been like, man, Montreal is the perfect fit. Montreal is the team that what's his name? What was the guy's name? Engle said he was like, the deal would be done if he just, yeah, there's no try or put them on his no move. All the prospects the Canadians have their need for a second center, all of a sudden Suzuki Larkin. It's like, whoa. And if if there are American guys that don't want to play in Canada, which I think Brady and hella buck have kind of proven that they didn't want to be in Canada anymore and that's a different argument. That's their own purse. Whatever. I don't even really. And if Larkin had that in his mind, like I want to play in the US, am I crazy as an American? I don't even consider much real like Canada. It's like Europe to me. Should we ask Pierre? Yeah. Pierre. This is business uncle Pierre who wears Ferrari shoes, cousin Ferrari shoes. He's got a Ferrari jacket. He had a BMW vest. He is in rock star Pierre is much more Canada or more Europe and we'll get the subtitles out. Oh, you're up. Okay. Yeah. You just got to talk into the mic. Okay. Yeah. Sorry. Oh, I think more Arab than the rest of the kind of in Quebec. We different from the rest of the Canada. Okay. So I almost was on to something. Yeah. I mean, the man's from there and he agreed with you. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you, Pierre. Pierre also, I believe, is a penguins fan from when his cousin Biz was on the penguins. And he sees Crosby also has a Vegas golden night's hat on right now, along with every F1 team in the league. We had a good. We were having some fun last night. They were just here, but all the car companies he has on his clothes. It was a blast. I said he had a seat belt as a belt and then like, obviously with this guy, I said, he's even got the airbag. And then we were wondering why he didn't take office 14 layers. I said, he's got AC on the inside. But Pierre, this is his second check. What's going on? I love you. Just drives down and he hangs out and he surprises you every time. It's the best. Pierre, he's just, now he's at every check. What's going on? A hundred percent. Oh, yeah. Yeah. You should pay him double to come down. I guess I'll ask you this like on like the after on Friday, after our games, I got a two phone calls from a Quebec number. And I was like, who's calling me right now and answered, it's you. You never gave me the heads up that you were coming. It's two years in a row. You surprised me. Yeah. You don't feel like giving me the heads up, you're coming? No, I just want to surprise you with it. I love it. I love it. I love it. Yeah, a different question in terms of this conversation, you don't have his number saved. Well, he doesn't say anyone. I'm brutal. I feel like I have. I'm brutal with my phone now. Like I have like a lot of like a miss unread text and I'm at the point now where I'm just overwhelmed. You can't even go back. I know. I know my phone now and I just like my mind's just scrambling and it's just like overwhelms me. So sorry, Pierre. And you also have changed your number a few times, I believe. Fair. Let's talk about the same number. Okay. He's like, it's my house phone. Thanks for keeping me on his pair. Fucking guys. Starlink. Yeah, we have my back while you're here, Stanley Cup pick this year. Yeah. You need to add some people. Who do you think is going to win that penguin? You like the penguins to win the cup this year? No, no. Who do you think is going to win the cup this year? They add more couple of God. I think they got a chance. Okay. Pittsburgh if they add Pittsburgh if they add what do you think of the Canadian spirit? What's on the way? What do you call it? Why don't you rule for the Canadians? Because I don't like him. But some Patrick Wong, but I still love the Canadian. Are you obsessed with Cindy Crosby? No, nothing like that. He's more doldy. He told me when Patrick Wong got traded, that's when he was okay. That's where it was when I was young. I heard you. It hurt you. Yeah, 95. Yeah. 95, right? Yeah, yeah, yeah. With Mario Trabbi. I stirred out the gather arrow with Bob Guinea and they do nothing for the Canadian and Paul get drafted by Pittsburgh. So you said, I'm out. And I'm in the Pittsburgh and he's have the same kind of sense. And if they make a couple moves and they win the cup, it's over. And business F1 driving a cousin can call a winner and he just gets franchise goalies, injured, loses, tickles, cups and leaves a team that looks great Toronto. He should be the Geese to hoax. Yeah. So one last thing I used to go to Munchel all over summer with my parents, we used to drive up and go visit like my family and it appears to one who got me into like music and rap. This guy loves hip-hop music. Like he was getting me the Wu Tang forever album, the Nas album got me into Jay-Z. There were some French rappers. Yeah. Philly Phyllis Dicker. What's it? Suisse Phil. Suisse Phil. Suisse Phil. Who are the other rappers that we were bumping back then? French. I don't remember who gave you some other than this guy, but I remember you like this album. You got me into hip-hop. I used to bump that forever album all the time like, what's the, is it Triumph by Wu Tang? Yeah. What I think about you about that was more Jay-Z, the first album. Jay-Z, it's a hard-knock life for all of it. Two years. Wow, that's cool. I was probably a little young to be listening to like hardcore rap music with N-bombs. Oh, you like this song. Oh, I love it. Yeah. Well, you're like, well, I am a quarter black. So this is good. At least I have a pass here. I remember my cousin got me into Adam Sandler, like why are they all laughing at you? Same thing. I was probably a little young for that. Yeah. Toll Booth, Willie Stuff, but that's good memory. And you're a music junkie now. So thanks to Pierre. Thank you to Pierre Pierre. You're the best. Thanks for surprisingly bad. You're the best Pierre. You're a good luck charm, so I'm ten pay. Larkin said it was interesting. I would never have imagined that in this building in my career, but they're passionate fans. In my opinion, it's the best atmosphere in hockey and they're knowledgeable and they love their team. That's how I read into it. And after a few seconds, it was just back to focusing on the game. That's enough for me to be like, he might say, okay, I'll go there. I think he's pretty. To say it's the most the best atmosphere in the league. It's the best PR job in the history of sports that fans going in there and doing that, knowing that he's not on their list or that they he's not on Montreal's list. Ops. That's could get him. You mean, oh, you mean like the fans have a pulse on things and don't get sensitive to the fact that he doesn't want to go there to begin with. So they're like, let's just be nice to him in a yums here. Let's chant for him in a positive way and we'll lure them in rather than his own fans who have a problem with ownership and then him getting sick of it and then them taking you know, not him. Well, business has been business is I like seeing this. You're starting to go at the Troy and Detroit fans are coming back saying like, this motherfucker's telling us to apologize. He doesn't have a team, but his goal is to just go at or just pick a team so that the star he hates to the star player goes down with a season ending injury. Did you guys see Kendall's comment on my my get on their knees and slot the debauses hammer. That's a guy who played for the wings. He probably played with Larkin and he probably saw a lot of the nonsense that was going on to go read his comment on what he said. Oh, geez. Gonna pull it up. Who's comment? Kindle. I think his first name's Jacob Kendall. Oh, the defenseman number four. I think he wore. When was he? Where is he now? Was he doing media? He's still playing. I think he's living. I my comment was is like, they have to do that in order to keep him because the only chance they have of getting out of this playoff route is Dylan Larkin. Yeah. If Larkin goes, Edvinson's going to be like, I don't want to be there. I don't want to go down with the sink and ship. They won't fucking pay me. They're fucking around me. They won't even pay. I have to pay my insurance to wear a camp. Fuck this. I assume Detroit would be able to get back that Zorovski might have the name wrong. I saw another K.H.L. superstar highlight clip of this guy like everyone saying he's kind of like Demodov. So I would assume he'd be in the deal going back to Detroit. That would excite me if I'm a wings fan. If Detroit red wings fan had half a brain cell, the next time that Larkin's back in the little Caesar's arena, they would up the Montreal Canadian champ. So that's just some advice for you, wings fans. If you want a chicken dicks chance, I do not stand by this slander of you poor wings fans. Okay, this is biz, but you don't think they should have his back and chance his name if other teams are doing it, um, how about he's not leaving. Yeah, that'd be great. That'd be a lecture. He's not leaving. That'd be a lecture. That'd be a lesson off pizza. We want to stop cross free fucking top and, uh, but, um, yeah, yeah, yeah, it's a, we'll see, we'll see how this plays out. But if they get that chant going that, that, that, and you, and you started it, the only reason they may not do it now is because you said it, but that would be awesome. How, uh, how would you say it in a French chant to say he ain't leaving. They should almost go French chant to troll Montreal fans. Oh, I imagine, I don't know, either part part, like is either part part he's not leaving. Like he's not, he's not leaving. Yeah, yeah, say it with like, with enthusiasm in the party. That's the way. Chanted, chanted, it loud. Like, the rat, the rat, the rat, the rat, he's a guy. He's a guy. He's a guy. The party. The party. The party. The party. Now, here's the thing. Sometimes I'm not one. I don't see a ton of people in the Detroit area being able to do that. Oh, you're saying they're not educated. Uh, not one bed at all saying they don't speak French. Oh, a lot of very true. Um, I don't think I don't know. And I think they're just going to go in and scream in English and maybe say like he ain't leaving, right? I like that. Right? I, I, I, I, I like that idea of this. Um, maybe they'll say it in my, uh, like, or some have been larkin language. No, we don't want to do that. That's not what we want to do. We don't want any more of those shirts. We don't want any of that. That is, I don't know why I just went there. I don't know why I just went there. Um, the, the Bruins after recorded Thursday, they smashed Utah, nice wind for them there. And then Saturday afternoon, a typical murals. I think it's number two on the EBR, like gambling rules, the ruins day game at home, hammer the Bruins and they smashed the fires. The fires, boys, it's not, it's not, it's not good right now. I need to go. I gonna go for a night out. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Hit the, hit the bottle reset. I, I think no goals for zegris, no goals for connect me. Uh, no goals for downward barkey. Um, I, it's, just, it's just, Mitch golf has to though. Okay. Mitch golf has to, I was listening to the Bruins. Flyers game driving into check. Let's cup or back from why it's game when I left. And the announcer, the color guy for the Bruins radio was like, yeah, they got, uh, Mitch golf listed at whatever he is, five, 10, 180. And they say he lost 30 pounds this off season. If he was playing at five, 10 to 10 last year, that's insane. Like I was like, wow, this discussion's still going on. But Mitch golf too, goal. So I guess we can't blame him, but the flyers and talk this after last year, having a nice little, you know, playoff run. That was out of nowhere, too. They didn't have high expectations coming into the season. Everyone gets behind them. You see the first game, right? Everyone's excited to be there. And then you see some of the interviews after the games with the fans leaving, not happy. It was mean, it took the one game. Yeah. As far as it's almost like that opener took everything right. They did last year at the end of the year away. But it just happened to me against Pittsburgh, too. We're, how many games have they played five games? They're six. I think they're all four and two horrible start vibes are very low. They were not good in the first half of the season last year. They had a claw their way back to even getting to play offs. Like I said, I think that guys are a group of their sticks. Uh, Porter, Mark Tony comes off of the Michigan state year. You know, you signed that contract. You come right in. He has success and right into playoffs. And it's just like, you knew there was going to be a little bit of regression. It's, it's a hard league. They had a lot of young players that have to find another gear and make that next step. And yeah, like I, I think that they just need to go out as a group, you know, realize that they, they, they need to like gel and find some team camaraderie and then boom, get the ball rolling. That's pretty much what Talk said. We've all been there. You said, you got to stick together. We're in the mock right now. Got to get some healthy bodies back to connect some other guys. You got to stick together. There's no other answer. We've all been in life in a situation where you're in the foxhole and we need some people to stay in the foxhole and stick together. That's it. That is kind of coaches speak for guys. Go out and get after it. Does that sound crazy to fans? Maybe and just have a night where it's like we, you put everything on the table. Like we're, we're not doing it right now. Nobody's enjoying it. I think my tone had a quote. Like people think we don't care. Like we're all dying inside here as we lose these games. So yeah, stick together. Now unfortunately last year they make this awesome run. They beat Pittsburgh. They go to the second round and they don't really get a super high draft pick. Like they might have been better off not being great having a high pick. Maybe possibly that happening again in this season. Like they just, you kind of need, like they went out and tried to get a little calls for a reason because they're like, we need a superstar. We need like an absolute stud. I just blocked it blanked out. Did you mention bunting? No, they did sign bunting. Yeah, they're trying to ship things up. He is the type of rat that will bring the team into the fight, played against them in the, in the minors. Like just a gamer. And then obviously had success when he was in, in Phoenix and then went over to Toronto. Now to bring it to this Philly situation, it's, it, and people always say, "Oh, it always comes back to lease." It always comes back to lease. Look at last year and how low their vibes were. Now you're seeing clips of them jelling, like the Matthews comment where he was going to wait to see McKenna go through the tunnel, who's the, who's like the best given goal guy in the league now. And now all of a sudden he is turned into to Mariner 2.0. So I was right to begin with. Now he's going to go, but, but it's, hold on. But you see clips of them in practice now. And they're just the team camaraderie and the vibes and the slumber parties and everything's going on with them is, is that the top echelon level. That's what Philly needs to go find right now, because they're like what the Leafs were last year. But the Leafs have in Matthews, Neelander, at least, all right, say those two as of now, like the flyer, don't have a player like that, right? So it's, it's a little different. Okay. Well, the Leafs did last year, even when Matthews was out in those types of guys, and then they still couldn't get it done. So you could have all a town in the world. But if your team's not jealous and you're not vibing and the Mojo ain't good, I, it's useless. They didn't make playoffs. And like you said, you're gripping the stick great, nobody, nobody plays well. Yeah. You're like, you're like just counting down the, here's another example. The Vegas gold mites until torch showed up. Then all of a sudden, the Mojo was good again because they were having issues with their coach and things weren't vibing well. And then fuck it all of a sudden. They're in the Stanley Cup finals and two wins away from hoisting the thing. So there's so much like, there's so much parody league and you kind of mentioned yesterday and it's like, oh, this guy's sick, this guy's sick. Yeah, everybody's sick. It's the fucking NHL. They're so sick. And it exceeds in so long that we have to talk about this stuff. It's, it's, you know, we're talking twice a week together, but you're like Jesus. And a lot of these teams have 78 games left. It's like, there's going to be ups and downs for everyone. But do you think it was obviously a little bit of false hope last year? And you see, like you said, Danny Brieux trying to get a ball per sheet, you think they saw going into this year. They're like, we're not there yet. We're not ready to make that next step. Or it's, I think they, if they were honest about it, they could have been like, yeah, we're not like, I would think looking at their team, they weren't like, we're definitely making playoffs again. Okay. Yeah. Like, yeah, Bladar was awesome last year. Bladar was sick. Like, and then with gold tending, it can switch every year. Like, you're not going to be amazing every year. Unless you're the gold tending is bizarre. I don't understand how it works now where guys just come and go. But the Leafs, they actually, I think they've lost in one. They've just every game of the season. They're up three nothing against Vegas on Friday night, or whatever. Thursday or Friday night, they blow the lead, losing a shootout. And then they're like, oh, shit. Now we're going to Colorado. And they, they take care of business, kneel under five points, Matthew's four points. I couldn't believe it. We were sitting there at dinner. They had the first period highlights on me and posh rewatchers armdog on hockey night Canada with with juice and Elliott. McKinnon had like six different end to end rushes, where he's probably going 27 miles an hour. It was crazy. I was like, oh, I thought it was from like last year. It was one game. It was that game. But the Leafs, they, they get to win. And yeah, McKinnon had a great pass. Was that to Neelander? I don't want to his goals. Matthews gets two and two. So way more excitement around the Leafs. I'll give you that way more excitement. Yeah. But there's one team in the NHL right now. Only one. There's 32 total that hasn't lost in regulation. Do you guys know who that is? Yeah. Can you give us a second to think about? Sure. The only team, Colorado. No, they got max last night. The game we were just hung up. Are they in the east of the west? They're in the west. And I'm no, no, no, no, no, not the ducks either. Oh, you talk. No, you talk. No, they got smashed by the bruise. Now we're just going to say Edmonton and troll us. Calgary. Yeah. Well, no, no, not to troll just to give you a fact. Last team, they haven't lost when the buzzer went off at the end of the third period. They have not had that happen and been on the losing side. So that's nice. It's been cranking himself to these babcock locker room clips. I know. How can you know? Well, boys, the hair, the voice, the aura and just going into San Jose. And I mean, yeah, McDavid had a point, boosh had a point, but it was, it was the guys who posh the rips on the that player formant and sick breakaway goal. And celebrity gets one at the end, but a lockdown win. A win where I saw a tweet from a writer in Edmonton who said, this is just such a well coach team. So say what you want about the cock, they haven't lost in regulation. They, they just looked dialed. So the reason, the reason that I bring them up, not just to talk about the oilers. They went into San Jose. And you know who's on San Jose now that was on Edmonton in our chart. Yeah, that's Darnell. And Darnell over the years in Edmonton, everyone reads back had written some things about him. I think at one point, I don't remember the article said a very low IQ or no IQ to the point where he asked him a question. And Darnell, can we play it? I think it's difference. You've noticed so far playing in a California market from where you grew up in this. You know, if my low IQ, I don't know if I'm able to answer your questions. I don't know. I think your questions are a little above my head. Next. Sometimes you just got to tip your cap. And I think it was specs laugh. I think you heard him laugh too. Darnell's timing on that was I it was the livery. You constantly was waiting for the question. He must answering the other question. Yeah. Yes. Waiting. Waiting. You practiced that in the mirror. No, no, no, no, no. I think that was so I think that was so pent up emotion from the years of everyone reads back just carving him. I checked you. I'm still blocked. Daniel David Darnell. He's been waiting to do that since he was on Edmonton. He can't do it when he's on Edmonton. And if you if you listen to the clip, like everyone just did, but you guys, he gave a quick next. He didn't answer the question. He just said with my low IQ, I don't think I understand the question. Next. So just awesome. And I really picture. I don't know Leon dry saddle. Maybe someday I'll get the hang of them. But I picture him just dying laugh. And when he saw that clip, because you've seen him and spec have their have their beef before he's gone. It's spec a couple of times. But everyone needs more forwardly on. Well, it'll just be like, that was fucking stupid. In terms of in terms of spec telling me everyone reads spec, it did prove that Darnell read spec. So tip of the cap to spec as well. Did I ever tell you about the DM spec, Romeo? I don't know. I don't know. I hope you have it. And when you start talking like I doesn't ring a bell for me. And this is a new spec thing. Was this recent? Yeah, he go, I go, this is Wednesday, March 4th of last year. I go, spec that you please come on our podcast. And then he wrote in July, end of July, he wrote just seeing this next time, call our text. And I'll tell you know that way. And then I wrote why I put the smiley or the laughing face emojis back because that's funny. That is very funny. Oh, that's fucking awesome. Texting you for once again. If you're not aware why he hates us, it's because he thinks that we make clips to make him look bad when we're all we're doing is posting clips from other accounts that have like cut it in an interview. So everyone reads spec. I'm gonna, I'm gonna, I'm gonna write back. Hey, spec. Is that darn L exchange AI question mark next. So next, but Keith or biz, do you guys ever have a, a teammate that maybe went back somewhere that he played that that had been, you know, catching grief or had somebody against him who then went back because that is something like Darnell nurse was was waiting for you know, schedule comes out. He planned on like spec coming over asked him a question and he was not going to answer it. And I didn't know if you ever saw any like boil in there with that. Oh, you were with Dan Boyle. I kind of like, Mariner wasn't super aggressive. But when we got when he lit the lamp and he scored that sick goal against Anaheim and playoffs like between the legs. Shit. We got him after the game. And I asked him a question. He was kind of like like he like like did something with his mouth to make a more noise when I said like, Hey, Mariner, it's biz. He's like, he just puts the mic to his ass really far. I kind of had a spec moment. So and like going back to the Darnell thing, like I think the main thing we talked about is just like it was tough because of he had his career year in the Canadian division scored 20 goals and then got the massive payday. And like obviously Edmonton or to keep guys, they have to pay a high price. I mean, look what Walman got. Look what, you know, look, unless you're my David and take like. Right. And then you have to compensate for those other deals. So obviously, like we have to talk about it because that's the topic of conversation. So I like I'm happy for Darnell that he's in a situation where he can make the money he's making and he's out of the bullshit and doesn't have to read this nonsense daily in this conversation daily around his contract and his play. So it sucks going back to your question. Like I just gave my example. Obviously, the boy one is another one. I feel like torts has been in a few of these exchanges with. He just said you were there for the boy one. Did he tell you guys that he was going to do that? Yeah, he literally got everybody because you know, it's the end of the year of media. So everyone's there, but you take your turns and he knew he was gone. Yeah, he knew he was retiring. Okay. So he was like, if you guys want to see a show come in the locker room in five minutes and everyone's like poking their head in. It was unbelievable. But I'd liked proxy and I'd love boiler too, but it was just so funny to see because during the season, you can't, you can't say anything. These guys control the narrative of people are reading it. So it's like wasted energy. Yeah. Yeah. You did a good job. And I think Hank was the same way where you guys just didn't read it or see anything. Yeah. No, I never read anything because, you know, because don't know how we said he's like, you never as good as they think you are and you're never as bad as they think. There we go. It's like, don't read anything. If you're a player, don't read anything. It's idiots like us who have to say stuff. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. Don't listen to a word. Although I do get a kick out of chat with you guys regularly. Shout out to the others, though, still have not lost regulation. I don't know if I mentioned that. Where would you put babs on the like winning people over a meter right now? Well, he hasn't lost some regulation. They got to Oh, I know my season for him. But I think I'll say there's fans right now are like over the moon that the cocks their coach. And I'm not. There's no trolling or exaggeration. How many tattoos we didn't give up the touchdown? Well, even he said the after the San Jose win, he just gave us a little talk. And he's like, and it's early. We're only going to get better. And I was like, Oh, I just rewind. Hey, it's early. I think you see why it's early. I was like, this is unbelievable. I think he said we're just getting started. Yeah, we're just getting started. It was just getting started. It was new. Team hockey defense. Have you seen that live for Moussa guy do his babs and pressure? Yeah. That guy was probably so fired up that he's back in the league. That gives him that shawzie buddy. That guy. I mean, there's mortgages with that. Did you see the hit and Nazar got suspended for all over? Do you agree with it? They clipped his head. Yeah, clipped his head. But when you're leaned over, I thought that did change, like the because he was kind of leaning over point of contact. But I think it's still a little if you clipped a guy like that. Yeah, you clipped a guy like that. He felt bad. He felt real bad. I think he called and apologized. Yeah. But that was kind of a nasty one. When before the implement of that, you saw a lot of it. And then right after they created the rule, I felt like we were seeing like suspensions every couple of games. It's been pretty good since. Yeah, I can't remember the last time I saw a suspendable hit like that. Well, you got to thank all these kids now in the NHL have been playing with those rules. If somebody's vulnerable, you're not hitting them. Because remember, if someone cut to the middle with the head then that was the time to get them, right? You are me. I mean, army's on hockey. Yeah, because I think that George made a decision at some point to like I'm fucking done. Like it has to be real bad. You know, like there were so many suspensions. And I think George was like, stuff's gonna get let go. Right. And some fans love it. And then when your player on your team gets hurt, fan bases are calling for him. It's like, but he's done a good job. I mean, people make Chuck card me for that. I know George. I like George. Worst job in the world to have as a former player lose, lose, lose, job. There was another hit that caused a ruckus. I think it was Brady Kachuk on Carilka pre saw in Minnesota. And then it was a full on like brawl, right? Yeah. And I think that uh, so Brady went in. Matthew came flying in after the hit when somebody went after Brady. And then Boldy, who's tight, you know, from the Olympus, he grabbed Matthew. He had him in the headlock. So like, you know, hit your guys on on your club team, obviously. It doesn't matter. You're on the Olympics together. Bennett had served the Spurgeon in a chokehold. It looked like. Oh, no, hey, yeah. That's never nothing. But the wild beat them 4-1, Caprice off hat trick Florida. Yeah, they get some injuries, obviously, but wild. Um, another storyline though is, um, Brady, I don't think he's had point in his last 10 games. But the reason I bring it up is he's heading into Ottawa. Uh, I believe is it next week? And oh, we heard, yeah, we heard we heard a little, a little birdie, a little rumbling that they got like a three minute video tribute planned. And what when I told you that, too, you were like, like trolling. I was like, no, I, according to the guy we met at Chiklet's Cobb, who I believe is like an usher at the rank. Oh, he was like, no, no, it's, you know, they're doing what every team does for guys especially captains who come back. And it's, and I was like, how's this going to go three minutes as long? Yeah. You mentioned there's rumblings that the fans are going to stay silent. The entire no that was what the guy was saying like because I was like are they gonna boo the whole time people will cheer some people will cheer I think they'll cheer during that and then when he has the puck and stuff they'll boo, but you gotta give the the respects during the I don't know I was just gonna boost up with the usher guy was saying Okay, we're saying to win. I think he was like imagine if they just stayed completely silent the whole time But you cannot know get something like that. I think they respect the game too much good. Okay. All right And if he goes in there without a point yet, like that is an auto goal. Yeah, yeah, I would I would bet that I just that that that's exactly how you'd get off the Schneider on your new team. That could be a year old. That could be a multi-point game Multi-pointer. Okay, we can get those odds and memes has been hot. He'll give us other picks. Ottawa has been playing well, though guys. I know They look form one I believe right now The Ottawa Senators fans are all over us rightfully so uh four and one. Yeah eight points They have 15 goals four 11 against haven't lost at home I yeah, I guess we kind of all did Just throw them away we threw them away with Brady. It's like what do you what are you guys thinking? It's a good team got to the playoffs last year They have the room together now. So we got to keep an eye on them, but sometimes things like that galvanize But we said last last episode, I think yeah, but you were you know You were do you still think Toronto just owns that that province and 100% yeah 100% okay fair enough Um, anything else in my opinion. We have we had we sat down with Kevin Hayes. It was great to chat with them I think it's about an hour Some really funny stories from his playing day. We did at the beginning of the the conversation like it's hard because it's fresh Right the room to still open of the fact that like it's not always gonna be this storybook ending and it's clear that he was dealing with injuries and You know hockey at the end when you are dealing with that stuff and your rehab and constantly You know, it it does wear you down mentally and it takes the fun out of the game But Hazy did a good job of of battling through it and still bringing a lot of joy Um and uh what's the word I'm looking for like he helped the young guys out like a mentor Yeah, like mentorship and stuff like that. So um, we're gonna be getting him on like regularly guys because he fits right in with us He's an incredible storyteller and he's got so many funny stories So it was you know, it's one of them end with a murder of a of an entire household in Austria That is now we don't know. I couldn't believe that. I still can't believe it. Yeah, I didn't I saw swaggy the next day I'm like dude you could have gave us a I felt like a dream I was like Did that happen? You're gonna say he's like yeah, man, he showed it on the article about it. Cool crazy. So but uh Shuttle at the hazy thanks for coming on We also get into the Mitchell Miller stuff at the back Back part of it and yeah, obviously people are gonna have their opinions on it We just wanted to have a discussion on it and yeah, that was that Kevin haze Guys the NHL moves fast. What a career Appreciate officially part of the retired crew. Congratulations buddy. I appreciate it We are no very weird Yeah, I wake up in the morning. I just I want to go see my kid and then I have nothing else to do So me my wife and my kid go to the museum whenever it's cold out and We stay there for a couple of hours and Then we go all the museum. Children's Museum. It's a great one right here I would say the best part of retiring initially is like no longer the pressure to like get up Haven't go to the rink and like warm your body up to feel somewhat decent physically to get move and to keep up to these kids now like yeah, no, I mean like At the beginning of my career, I Like didn't really take working out serious Caught up to me quick And then I decided to like completely go the opposite you went crazy the past year. Yeah like wild like so into my body like eating healthy Massages like trying like sleep different ways or take Like sleep stuff that helps you recover better wouldn't have one beer playing golf like wasn't really drinking that much And then like a couple of years ago my back went and that like hasn't got better Uh, my left knee is brutal like my boy. I can't even bend over read a putt now Like it's it's bad and so I worked out very hard this summer assuming I was gonna like sign a PTO or whatever and Uh, I didn't and then We talked about Russia and only lasted two weeks, but Yeah, I just went over there and My groin went the first game this kid on tractor like Was a stupid play with one second left in the second period and had nothing to do with what was going on in the play and My groin just didn't get better the whole entire time and Just kind of the shit that was going on there my wife and kid not being there uh Just kind of feel like it was time to be a dad and and live their entire life. But yeah, it is nice I've never slept I've slept better in these last two weeks and I've slept in the last Five years about that's good anxiety of being overpaid or anxiety of not producing anxiety of walking into a locker room and making all this money and being scratched every night and going home and facing not that my wife gives a shit and James doesn't even know but like just like Embarrassed they're onward, but like Going home and just like kind of feeling like not a piece of shit because I'd never felt like that, but just like very unaccomplished um Still tried to like lead the right way and show up early be the first guy to drink every day working out help the young guys um But yeah, just like Being able to not have any of that anxiety has been like incredible and that played a factor over there because I thought I was gonna go over there and like I wouldn't say dominate. I think my days are dominating or over but Like actually helping that team win. I was a non-factly or in the five games I played, like, did you know immediately? - I knew pretty quickly. And then when my loin wasn't getting better, and you don't speak the same language as anyone, like, guys are talking, I'm a locker room guy, and like, guys are talking in the locker room, and I legitimately did not understand one word that was being said. And then like, yeah, you get a rub down, you get someone to work on your groin, and I didn't even know what I was done or not. Like, they would just say, like, let's even, I was like, all right. No, it still hurts. - Yeah, yeah, it's so worse. - It's the other groin. (laughing) - And so, like, runs down here. - That, like, I wanted to go to Russia to kind of have fun, and like, not be over. - No one ever. - And not be overpaid and enjoy it with my family, and like, enjoy hockey for one more year, whatever. I knew my time was coming to an end. I was scratched, like, fucking, 35 times a year before. And it just, like, my wife not being there with my son, and like, the fun part, like, never really came. And I would be sitting on the bench and like, I'm like, wow, I have a non-factor on this ice, and I'm not having fun. This isn't it, and like, the whole shit that's going around. - Yeah. - Russia and stuff, but, yeah. So that was ultimately the decision. And I just thought, like, being a dad was way more important than kind of going through that. Everything you just said about, like, the feeling of, you know, the last few years for you, I know exactly what you're saying. I literally had the exact same thing. You, I felt like a failure, and I was, I was like, I can't believe I'm like, not very good anymore. I make all this money. The fans can't stand me. Like, people I think listening are like, whoa is you? - Yeah, yeah, for sure. - But, you know, you're, you're living your own life, and it's just like a feeling of just disappointment constantly, and it's very funny. You said when you retired, how you're sleeping now, like, I just remember, like, the weight off my shoulder. Mine luckily was when I went to Russia, because you had one import, you had Mitchell Miller. I had, there was six guys, and so she speak in English, and it was way different experience, considering what's happening in Russia right now, compared to when I was there. But the anxiety going away was the greatest feeling in the world when I retired. It was like, oh my god, like, I missed the game, and I missed the guys, but I did not miss feeling like a constant disappointment. I know exactly how you feel. - And then, like, the worst part happened in Pittsburgh. And again, like, I'm not shitting on Pittsburgh. I'm so happy I got to play my finals years in Pittsburgh. Kyle Dubas is a man, said's a man. The trainers are the man there. Teams awesome playing with like, cookie and cheese, oh. But like, the amount of times that we had injuries last year, and I, like, my wife would be like, oh, I heard this person's injured. I'm like, yeah, I think I'm actually going to play like, maybe I'll play good in. And then like, I'd walk into the ranking. I would see like some young kids name on the board, and I'm just like, guys, like, please, please. - Not even please. It's just like, this guy is accomplished. Nothing, like, but you were so, but in their mind, you were done. - Yeah, and then like, I'm talking to Dan Muist, and he's like, oh, no, we don't think you're not good enough. And I'm like, look at that. That's exactly, that's exactly what you think. And I'm not like saying that to like, turn on Dan Muist at all. But it's just like, the amount of times I'm like, oh, I remember like, rusty got suspended. I think he, yeah, like a bad hit or a bad slash. You got suspended two games, and I'm like, all right, well, this is, I'm going to play these next two games. And they call someone up, and I'm just like, what the fuck is going on like? - And they never put you on wave. Would you almost want it to go down? - No, I was making too much money to get claimed. - Yeah, no, but then they could have sent you down. - No, no, no, no, I don't want to go down. Cause I get, no, because at that point like, like even Sid and like, Tanger and Kyle, like, they knew I was like, still like, as dumb as this sounds like, important to the team. Like, I really tried to help out like every guy that was in Pittsburgh, whether like, there was a guy struggling or a young, like even guys that were coming up, taking my spot. Like, I was trying to take them out the luncheer on the road, making sure they're all good and everything. Um, because like, basically, at that point, I was getting paid to be a fucking cheerleader. Like, yeah. And like, I'll further you go into playoffs. I knew Tanger was going to give me my playoff bonus, no matter how many minutes I didn't play. Like, I knew exactly when that season ended. Like, I'm getting the same amount of money as Sid and Gina. Like, just because of like what I did off the ice for them. But like, just like the constant like, fake hope of thinking, oh, this kid got hurt. I could go in for 10 games and play really good. And then some of my trade for me. Yeah, I might be able to play even longer because I do feel pretty good. But, but yeah, just like one or one of the time where mutes in the playoff said, yeah, we had two lineups. You were in one of them. Yeah. And you're like, oh, and I think so. You went with the other line. And then like, then like, because we had two lineups. You were like, mine and tips conversation after every pregame. Skate. It was a tough decision. Honestly, I know what the coaches there. Like, the coaches were great last year. It sucked because I wasn't playing. I got injured like 10 minutes into camp. And I was like, I don't know where he's crushed your family. And so I wonder what if I wonder if you hadn't got a hurt in camp, dude. I don't know. Who knows? And then nine guys at like career years. So it was kind of just like a, I think he's our excuses. My game has been going self. But, but yeah, it's just like at the end of the year, I thought I was going to go in and we were down three. Oh, I think, like, and I love Nick Bonino. I think he's hilarious. And he's like, yeah, hey, you were in my lineup. And I'm like, I'm like, oh, get out. Thank you. I love this shit. I love this. All right. So it's good. I'll sleep like a baby tonight. I was in your lineup, boys. Thank God. Thank God. Okay. If we lose this one, I'll be in. And then no, we lose or done. Like, it's, it's, yeah, but so that was that, but I'm actually, I'm pretty happy. It's still early. So I don't know if like I want to go crazy aboard him, but I'll try to figure out what I'm going to do. There's probably a few hundred people listening to this right now who have been exactly, like, through exactly what you're doing. Yeah. It helps to like talk about it. Pretty much everybody that has to retire at some point, but no one gets to go out on their own very, very fairly, you know, no, no, no, no, what was harder for you? Because I know you, like, you battled and I don't know if people know that, like, you battled some serious injuries. The year I played with you in Philly College, you had a college bad, the leg, like, the, what's it? The sports, hernias stuff. And like, what was worse, like, you know, coming back from stuff like that, or what you had to deal with being a scratch and being, you know, the Philly injury was the worst time for me because it was like recently after my brother passed, thankfully you were there. I was playing Unreal and Philly when I got there, like, one of the players, I was an all-star. And when I got the surgery, I got the surgery and man, I want to say, and then the first gate in September, I ripped something again, oh, I had another surgery and then I had another surgery and another surgery before I had even four surgeries before I came back. And the thing that sucks is literally sends that time. I'm not blaming anyone, but I felt better pre-surgery than I never, never really came back. No, like, my left leg is, it's my left knees now, fucked up. Yeah. No push compared to my right growing, like, and it sucked because they signed me through a huge contract and I loved to be in there. I loved the fans. The fans loved me at the beginning. Yeah, they did. And just kind of having to, like, accept that I would never be that player I was. And then, like, torts came in and, like, we had a whole media situation where fans and media said, we hated each other, which we didn't, and, like, no one really understood that, like, I knew at that point I wasn't really the same as I was before. And I just thought I'd work hard in the summer. I probably should've got more treatment, but just like working hard in the summer would kind of push me through that. But, yeah, I would say that was worse than dealing with the scratches because you still thought you had the gain. So for me, did you have instances of, mine was all ankles. And then I'd have like three days, whether it be in the summer and the season, I was like, oh my God, like, it's back. And then you get the excitement of, like, I'm going to be fine, I'm going to be the same player again. And then it just boom. Yeah. And it's like, I remember being sick to my stomach with, like, I'm never going to be what I was. And it's so hard to deal with. There was a thing I did every warm up, like, Keith saw me when I, obviously I love talking my whole life, but when I wasn't really that serious with, like, warming up or, like, my new treasure. And then he saw me in New York and then he saw me in failure where I was a totally different person. He was a different human. There was an exercise that I did before every game that I could tell through that exercise in the gym. If I was going to be able to skate, well, then, and then when it doesn't go well, you're like, I'm in. I'm in. I'm in. I had a battle somehow. Yeah. Oh. Yeah. I was like, you talking with, like, band worker, whatever. So, like, I would have the band connected to the weight rack behind me, the squat rack. Yeah. And I would walk out as far as I could, put it around my waist and just do like a subtle, like hip thrust on both sides. And if it didn't go smooth on my left side, I was like, fuck, like, this is going to be here. Here we go. Yeah. So then I would try to warm up even longer and some days I got lucky with, like, I'd get like one and one in the first and I'm like, all right, whatever, like, good enough. And that's what it is. I'd feel perfect. Just stay on the defensive side of the park, just survive tonight and get out of it. Yeah. But he'd have two blood bags. Yeah. Yeah, it was crazy blood bags coming out of his hernia and groins like at all times. It was crazy. I'd be, because I'd lived with them. I would have to like change the blood bags and shit. It was insane. Yeah. But like, these are things like, I played in New York with Rammer and like, Rammer was big on like, respect. We're like, you don't go into the, you don't go into the room unless you're really injured or whatever. And then it got to the point where like, I refused to get MRIs because the less is more. And I didn't want to know mentally why I was playing bad and I didn't want to give the coach a chance to be like, he's injured. Yeah. I can't play him. That's just an easy excuse. Because I knew I could play enough, like I knew I was good enough to play every night. But like, I just never really like knew exactly what was going on. And then yeah, dude, it was, it was wild that year in Philly. And then I got traded, traded, they kind of had a desire if they were going to keep like me and Tony D'Angelo or Tord's, they chose Tord's, me and Tony got traded. Went to St. Louis, had a decent start, tough here in St. Louis and then got traded a bit. I didn't know, okay, you're my first year in pit and then last year was a schedule year. Is it kind of in your head right now, like you're, like you're kind of, we're going through all like the, like the negative and the downside of it, but there's like, there's so much positive. Yeah. Like there's so much. Oh, so many good times to talk to. Yeah. Like, no, no, it was the NHL's the best job in the world. Anyway, you guys know that it's literally the best job in the world going to dinners on the road, the best thing in the world. One thing I appreciated about the NHL, I think I said, I, a lot of things I can think back of like a most proud of and happiest that I got to experience and like early on I got to play with Keith. I got to learn from Keith, Rick Nash, Mark Stahl, Ryan, Ryan McDonough, and Marty St. Louis, like that's really cool in my life. Like, being like a punk first round kid that went to BC, thinking he was going to be nasty was shit until he played with Johnny Ockie, then get into the NHL and like thinking NHL's a huge party and then realizing that you need to be a professional. And then there's like other things at the all-star game, there's things about like being boys with Sid, there's getting traded to St. Louis and being able to get super close with the Kachuk family. Like these are things that in like so many other positive things that happen in the NHL that are times 10 to the negative things, but it is crazy. We live in a world where like people only talk about no one wants you to succeed. I'm not saying Kevin Hayes specifically, like people on the internet only like double-click on negative stuff. They'll never pump up people to be happy and that's how I tried to be in the locker rooms. Like talk to Ben Kindle and be like, dude, you're nasty. Like I know you were 19 games on a point, but you're nasty at all. You do when you're thinking you're paid over $100 million and you're going to be the next Sidney Crosby. Not as good, but you're going to be in Pittsburgh for a long time. Like and that's kind of just how I tried to go through all my career. Fucking right. And I saw that because you know hanging out with you when you guys would come to Florida, go out to dinner and you saw every time you had the young kids with you, you had guys that weren't playing, like that must have meant a lot to you even though you weren't playing just to be able to be there for them right? Like it's like they'll look back in 10, 15 years when they're retiring and be like, I wouldn't be in this position because I know we all have those guys that took care of us, but like those guys will look back and be like, Kevin Hayes still caring me. Like that's going to be the biggest feather in the world. No, for sure. And even like, you know, Sid's like so superstitious. Like even the way he treated me when I wasn't playing was like unreal. That's just like kind of like allowed our friendship to become like we're really close now, which is nice, but, but yeah, just like trying to just lead my example, which I would have never done early on in my career, which is to learn that. I mean, Shayzo said like last year, like the stuff you'd say to Dubas was so like you became a legit comedian with an awful lot of what he would put in here. I am. Yeah. No, like I hit it off with Kyle too. Like Kyle is a man. Everything you kind of heard about, everything I heard about him before is being like, like statistics, analytics, I can't, like doesn't talk to anyone, complete opposite. Like he was waiting on our part. I always had to say always has like a swaggy outfit on with like a matching hat, like matching Nike's like, and I would just walk by him like Kyle, that's like in the cafeteria. Like, hey, let's just get this done, extension, extension. Sid wants me here. Like Gio said, I was on his second team and I get an extension. I was like, I'm not playing, but you know, I helped these young kids like extension right up. We'll go five years, five years, extension, four years playing one year. I'll follow you and then we'll talk more transition, yeah, transition, yeah, they got this on. Like it had to be get it. He probably thought that like I was like, crazy, but then like we'd be waiting in like at the game room for a game, but I'd see him sitting in tags his office. And I'm like, Kyle, did you see that trade last night? Would you have done that? Like in our situation, who would you have traded for that person? Oh, you ask him anything that came to your mind and like, he'd be answering and I'd be sitting there and someone would be like, hey, we have a 530 meeting. And I'm like, all right, Kyle, I got to go play. Yeah, it was, it was funny. I think Kyle's a man. He, he reached out to me when I retired and he's just, and he's already genome moments. I mean, I knew Gino, he didn't speak English. It was his first, the second year in the league, I can't imagine him now. He's so funny. He speaks way better English, but like when he's mad, he just like his English just goes out the door. Okay. And I was at a card table on the plane for the last three years. It was me, Gino, Lattang and Carlson, and we were playing 13 up in Gino, like we lose his mind. We only played for like 150 bucks. Like other teams I played for, it's like 10 grand. So I'm sitting there watching Lattang, like he, we would land in some places and he wouldn't talk to us for the whole road trip because of the car. Which is like, yeah, which is so immature. And then like, Carl's trying to like get them both rolled up and then Gino's just people trying to sleep. Like, SIDS a couple behind, he's screaming, waking up everyone on the plane because like Carl punted him in a game. And why the fuck you, yeah, 50 bucks, and then G, and then tangers yelling at me and Carl saying that we're scared of Gino and we refuse to punt him in like, like tango would, you know. He knows a bully though. Gino is a bully. But tangers been around for so long, they've been doing a whole time. And then like when tang would get really upset, Gino would go get Sid and be like, tango need hug, tango need hug, tango need hug. So we'd all get up and try to get a tanger and he's jacked and he's actually really upset. Like boys, like he says in fact, no, no, no, this is really upset. And I'm sitting there. I'm like, hang on dude, like you're acting like you're eating and he's like, you, you're scared of him. You're he's a bully. You're scared of him. You don't do this. And I'm like, it's a card game for 150 bucks. Buddy, he's made over 100, bro. I've been scratched. 27 straight. Yeah. This is what I look forward to. That's one day. One day meal hockey. Yeah. One day of free meal money. They got to give you a jet. And so, and so tango would be like, I go read book. I go read book. So then like, so then tanger would punt Gino and he'd be like, go read book, go read book. It was so good. It was really good. It's very good. They have a good group. Like, it's, it's really serious because Kyle's serious and Sid's serious. But like outside of the hockey, Sid's, I just wants to be a normal person. But there is just like quiet, like no one wants to upset Sid on the ice. And like, that's why I think they sometimes have like no namers that have career years. That's what we were seeing the other day. Yeah. And they brought it up via taxes and you just don't want to let the guy down. No. Like, dude, I, I was getting healthy scratched and I'm like working my ass off on the ice. Like, just in case I do get back in that is one thing that I definitely took from that. Like, that was my first professional organization. Just like though you, when you show up to practice, although we were doing it before that, like when I was in junior, but like, when you were in practice, especially in cross views on the ice, it was 110%. You were fucking dialed in. There was no fucking around. Yeah. Even like after practice, when you were playing like rebound and like breakaway stuff, you, you were able to fuck around a little bit more, but they were still going like and competing until they he wasn't chillin at the end, trying to end doing a breakaway. It's like game speed. No. And like, you're trying to put it in the empty net flowers, trying to save it, even though he's got the next guy coming down. So it was a, it was an awesome culture. Now, what are some other things about Sid that like people might not know as far as his personality? I feel bad like saying this stuff because I said the bird stuff and it went like viral. What bird stuff? He talked about how much Sid loves bird. Oh, yeah. He's your neighbor. He's actually friend. Yeah. And so then like we were in, I think we were in Sweden. We had to do like some interviews and the only interviews I had was about Sid and birds. That's why we have you. Yeah. Yeah. So what do you guys want though? No, no, I'm probably sent you the picture that bird that's penguins colors though. Yeah. And then the best part, he's like, I don't even know anything about birds. And then at media tour, they quiz him and he knew every single bird that showed up. Yeah. Oh, they were like, they were just sure. And what bird is this? And he was like, boom, loon, boom, like new everything. Pigeon. What out what other quirky things as you know about he probably reads a lot, no? I think he tries to listen to podcast. I don't know if he reads a lot the podcast it. Yeah It's a bird calling. Pob. He loves to he likes to make again. I don't want to give away secrets. I don't Who gives a shit dude? That's cross me. Yeah, he makes a great banana bread every Christmas for the whole team Like a little piece of banana bread. Everyone gets it Yeah, I love all like some Will Smith's trying to like Yeah, that was Will Smith's damn. No, no, that's sad sad thing Um, how did he steal it? He's not from Pittsburgh. No, but now like will like makes Desserts or something. Oh, yeah, everybody's into the um sourdough making sourdough breath. I feel like I'm an NHL wife thing now. Is it? Yeah, no, he's just like He's just like a really good person. Oh, he's the best. Yeah, he really is very thoughtful. Yeah You say I remember this is a cool story actually um, I told him that my Brothers kids were in sound and if he could sign a couple of jerseys again, no problem So he signs the jerseys and we're playing against Tampa. I think at home and uh, it was too too Might might have been I don't know what these act score was, but I scored a power play goal late in the third to go up From said and we're in the corner celebrate and like Most of you just say hey, they good fucking job. Good fucking job. Whatever. I told him this That my brother's kids were in town the day before right and He literally comes into the circle. He's like that's for bow and Mac that's for bow way like he that's awesome Crazy, huh? Yeah, I've thought of it. We never talked about it on the daily game Like just like he wow. He's a really good listener. He's a good person. He's the best. He's the fucking best What do what what's your I mean your rookie year was 15 to 15 now. Okay, so here after the Rangers went to the cup. What have you noticed on guys coming into the league now compared to when you came into the league They're not out till four in the morning They're not treating road trips like spring break now road trips. He'd treat home trips like it like Oh my god, that first year was insane We'd be driving to the rink and I'd be like pull over. I got a drive. This is your to drug So for practice rookie year on the red driving is Wrangler like you stole it. I'm like dude. What are we doing? Yeah the rack? Yeah Oh, yeah, the Wrangler for one day. You never heard that story. No, he picked me up my first day He's like he's like meet me on the Whatever street on the west side highway. I see this white Jeep Pulling up like I'm going to Drugsbury high prom. I'm like what the fuck is that he like rolls down the window He's like hop in I go nope I'm like through the next day went and bought an od a8 away. It was yeah Yeah, he made me trade in back. You go through the sick Rob Deidrick had this. I'm like, yeah exactly. He's a skateboarder Yeah, oh fuck I believe. Yeah, it's just I feel like it's just way faster Obviously my game slowed down, but it's it's insane Like yeah ice level at this point is is is bizarre. It's it's wild and Like hands makes a joke about like going out to form a more like a couple times I did that but more than a couple but but None of that is going on and I I think I was So big on team camaraderie Because of who I played with early in my career Me and JT were the only rookies on the team. Yeah, and we were an older team So we never got haze danger already kind of fucking treated me like shit for a little bit, but um Like There's no this is like my gripe with the young guys the NHL and I don't want to sound like a person who's just retired and is mad that I'm not playing anymore I'm not I'm happy There is no respect For the older guys really anymore thank body and I was 2006 it raised it was At that point you remember like if you were in line Dude for a meal getting off the bus for it was like straight up Petrified of doing something before about you off the bus if you stood up Even if you weren't gonna get off if you just like stood up You would get be raped so my rookie year. This is even before pro when I was in junior The we were in north bay and there was one shower that didn't get hot water and you're in north bay Like it's fucking freezing. Yeah, it was freezing cold water and one of the vets goes that's your shower for the year Even I would be the last guy lead I'll be the last guy leaving the rink I didn't even think about turning one of the other showers on I showered else there Body I showered and if he found out. Yeah, I fucking showered in that cold shower the whole fucking year It was just like I wouldn't go to the back of the bus. I'd piss in water Like do you people might say like? Oh, it's kind of fucked up. It's just like you just whatever the fucking baddest hold you Yeah, and then you can't wait for them to be like Hey, you're good. You don't need to do that. Just anymore Yeah, you know what I mean like you even if you didn't get that directly you just like knew When it was like, okay, you're You know second year. Yeah, are they phone them all the like are they helping the trainers with all the bags and like yeah, we have help But I remember I remember like because you were Obviously, we were close and you were close with Nasher and was he super rookie? No, no not at all, but like I'd be like I'll go eat and then mark stall would see me by holy fuck you're up there already But like and then you'd be like off to go and sit down everybody already in twice These guys they'd be done him and stalls you would be done showering and I have like some like Care above my call at the ass to they can call that ass to They'd be done showering and I'd wait for them to finish their shower so I could go in and then they'd be thick Like they would get in their clothes on they'd come back into the shower just to rip off me Hey, he'd come in and see us and be like no It was why like I remember like one time I played bad in Toronto and I was just like I don't know why I was just like really upset Like maybe I got benched or whatever. So Got off the bus right away went through customs go to the plane started eating And Tannin glass gone on the plane. It was like what do you do? And I'm like he's like I don't give a fuck that How sad about he's like dude. I fight like I fight guys for a living Like me and you have different lives and I've been grinding for a long time Like you don't go through customs and not that he was like mad at me He was like trying to teach me a lesson and I love glasses and I remember him being like never do that ever again Because you've gone in before the vets Yeah, I ordered my food and like was sitting there eating And like there's a kid on Pittsburgh told me no back And I love no back And I would walk on the plane. He'd be eating every single time The guys at the point where he would fake sleep and have a napkin over his food Until I was like Dude, how about if you're on the plane? No, he's the best though. He really is If you're on the plane, you'll hold you at whatever steak Sam and whatever and If I've older guys like all eat later And then it comes to him and be like oh, I have a steak And they're like oh, we're out of steak and they see a young guy eating it. Yeah, holy shit But then like you you remember those stories the most because they're actually what helped you And then like I remember one time after a game in New York Me and Marty saying we were in the showers and he's like hey like What are your thoughts on the NHL? Was it everything you thought it was going to be and I was like I was like honestly, it's it's crazy like I never thought that I was going to take A man's job who like Makes money for their family like I was coming from college. I was never thinking that. I know it was 21 years old And and I was like and I think it's crazy how At the beginning of this season I didn't really not like playing poor me But like I wasn't that close with anyone like no one really was like and that's going to dinner or what are you doing today? Like in college you go play Xbox or you're holding right you go to the cafeteria. I was like that's crazy But I'm like I think it's amazing that like my friends and family can come watch we play about it I got it And he was like yeah dude honestly like when I first saw you I didn't think you were gonna Like be successful in the NHL and this was like probably 20 games in and he's like now I think you're gonna have like a 10-year career and I literally like remember that moment like like When things are going bad. I'm like dude Marty's like Louise that like Things are like that's like a moment. It's that to him's nothing that stuck with it forever I know and now it's hilarious like watching him coach Like those kids are so lucky. Yeah, we were saying this last episode. He just styled like His speeches are probably amazing and to like know that he's like just super honest and like truly wants to help you Is really cool on the coach And he like he did it did it all as a player so it's like uh and had to earn everything. Yeah And like he jokingly said that he's like I'm jealous of you guys But he's truly not but he was jealous of the fact that they were getting to live through that experience last year Like saying like I wish I was back in your shoes. I get to watch you do this and I just I remember how special it is Yeah Yeah, but in the same breath like not one ounce of it. He's more like just trying to guide them through it and like He's got nothing else to prove. Yeah, Hazy is first year and like he'd leave 700 tickets a game All paid for rangers rangers didn't have a credit card Everything cash. I'm like, you got to say get a word like He went to BC so a lot of kids from BC living in New York City. I'm like dude You don't even know these people and you're leaving them tickets like it out He's like, well, how do you think I bought a jeep tape for these? I'm like, oh, yeah Literally, oh, so he didn't know where they dock and his pay Yeah, they were right, but you don't see it right? No, and then he told me about card at COD card on demand I'm like, all right, let me give it a try. So I started telling these people like yeah You can come to the games just like card on demand. They're like, oh, no, we'll just go the bar That was really yeah, and I was like, okay, sounds good. And then yeah, and then afterward they meet up with you And then you get a dinner. Oh, man, where were you when the report came out that you were telling guys not to go to fill Oh my god, and it was pretty cool torts was like that's fucking cool shit. So I was in I remember I was in St. Louis and That report is both the it was the goal. Yeah, and that report came out and Dude, you're like, what the fuck? I never once said that he even came out I remember that he even came out and said like the fact that He even had to come out and say that is crazy, but like these Philly fans were like they wanted to read it Yeah, I think it was wild. So I texted Danny B in torts and I was like guys like you know how much I loved Philly like I promised you This did not happen. Yeah, they put the BC together Yeah, yeah, and and so then I guess the guy Asked a question like five days later and torts was like wait, are you that guy that's yeah, and And then yeah, so I mean, yeah, again, like me and torts had a fine relationship. What were some torts? Snappings on you. Oh my god There was a he invited me down in the summer and I was like, this is where like new codes are going to be down in the summer. I'm like, well, maybe he's gonna like ask me to be like captain or assistant captain And and uh, so I flew down there and I'm like walking in He's like, uh, yeah, I don't know if you're if you're gonna be good enough for this team and I'm like Look, I saw a name cap so no see I'm like I'm like, okay, he's like uh, I told I told Nick Felino what he got named Captain. He's not a good captain And I was like, all right, well man now we're trending towards You brought up captain So that that was really it and he's like, I'm interested to see you at training gear And you and you went down to to filly for that. Yeah, and so like that could have been done over the phone So that was invented. I went home and I remember an act you can even ask why exists Wags was skating one-on-one with this skating coach in Foxboro And I would go on the ice with wags in a skating coach wouldn't do any of their drills I would just do torts his tests three times a week really They got seven eight what is it ten laps or it's it's three laps each way six times. Yeah, and so I go to camp And there was one person that was better than me. There was no kids With the whole training camp So then I'm like, all right like Maybe I'm convinced coaches don't even see test results. Otherwise, I'm happy that doesn't as done in the NHL Um, so then we have this like big meeting Uh, training camp and again, like I was in filly. I had a couple good years and I used to like drink my coffee in the weight room Like talk to everyone chirp guys like talk about fancy football or whatever and I had these blue shorts that I just like War like I don't know they were just in my get's bag. They weren't flyers shorts, dude Just blue shorts and I had a backwards hat on and we have a whole meeting with the team and Torch doesn't tell me he's gonna like call me out or say anything whatever and uh, he's like We have like we start the meeting. He's like We got one of our best players where the backwards hat like this blue shorts on drinking coffee with no shoes on in our gym How are we gonna win everyone's like he games this year? You know, like this Like blue short. Oh, fuck Again, I get what his message was But I'm like how does this On day one and I guess he's like he's trying to send a message or whatever But I'm like this isn't a correlation to winning games Like it's in toilet. They they mind trapped themselves to make it either they believe it or not Yeah, but like some coaches I think they like look at a guy like and they're like this guy's pissing me off That was me that was me to towards yeah, but like then away from hockey like I pregame mail we'd have great conversations What was the line the day you got named to be all star game? Oh, that's a funny one Well, no prior to that so torches yelling at me in that meeting and Tony the head is listening behind me. He's like You're gonna have a sick year And I was at all start out here. Yeah, yeah, that's a crazy part like and so we're in San Jose And uh, I just got told I was at all star and so I told the guys like whatever and so Everyone was like oh my god. I like it was probably a mere connect me Our team wasn't great. So it was me to connect me. I was having a good year And so Everyone puts $1,300 money on the board And torts comes in he's like why is everyone like why is everyone have $1,300 on the board and the angel was like oh, he's he got named all start And he was like what What that blue short wearing backwards hat wearing coffee trick and motherfucker and so I think it was just like an initial reaction because later on that night he sent me a message like okay Say and like I'm very happy for you and your family like mom, but it was just hilarious They're like because he's a real shock. Yeah, yeah, yeah, cuz like I'm sure I was gonna get scratched Pretty recently if I wasn't going the all-strike it. You think that saved you from scratch probably Well, cuz then he scratched you later that year, right? Yeah Yeah, he scratched me for the all-star game. Yeah, he brought him but yeah, it was it was funny cuz like Be in torts had a funny relationship like he would I would do stuff on the ice And then he would call me into his office and this was like later on into the season where I'm like I'm getting called in the torts his office. He's gonna fucking rip it ain't gonna be like good job And then he'd come in and like show me a clip and be like I don't know how you did that on the ice. That's incredible Really and I'm like all right, and I remember when I was scratched He oh my god, dude. I don't even know if I told us on the podcast once I think I must have but So the day I get scratched I go into the rink And there's a kid walking out of the rink with his hockey bag on his shoulder. Lucas said like I'm like, said you where you're going. Oh, it's a good player. I played against him and he want to call their copies with Columbus And yeah, and he played with torts in Columbus. Yeah, and he's like Can't play for torts anymore. I'm going home to check Like he shot yeah, so he quit. Yeah, so now I'm like, hmm. I'm scratched. This guy wasn't the lineup like I might be in but Justin run get sick So I'm like another guy goes down I have to play like this. We don't have enough default. We must be captain. Yeah, we don't have enough guys So we're sitting in the pregame meeting in the morning and torts is like going through the lineup and he's like Kevin You can come to the game or you can not come to the game. I don't care. You're not playing and so we had a defense Play for no Zach McEwan got sick The two forwards were out. So we had a seventh defense when play forward and they called up key for bellows from Lee Hive out Just obviously game If you go to the game you make it sad game. You make it sad. Yeah, what about your game drove him most crazy? Um, I think he He like Had it all for me at the beginning and then I think like just like The constant like turning and I try to explain to him like this not try to go Tight turns because if I do stop my growing kills. I can't get going like But like There was no his opinion was already made and yeah, yeah, and unless it was like a perfect game for me You could have showed him with like physics that like hey listen like if you timed it out I'm actually getting there fast and it wouldn't matter just because it's like it But it's the uh he just didn't like the look of what he saw your first He learned he didn't like the eye test of my game. I think he appreciated some parts of my game But I just don't think he liked the eye test of my game. Yeah Which sucks, but like it happens to a lot of players right like coaches Just don't even know anything about you and they got it off. No, they see your face even like coach and little kids You're probably like no, I don't want this kid out there with my kid Was there anyone was was there like a bigger weapon boy than you when you were there with them or were you the guy? I was the guy DeAngelo was the guy Rover of kind of got Tortured by him in Risto too But he like liked how hard Risto worked. Yeah, those guys so those guys are like yeah big physical. Yeah He wants to ask Proverov if he thinks he should be in the power play in front of the whole team And Proverov was like I think every player in the NHL thinks They should be a great answer great answer on your toes love that and he was like He was like well the sooner you accept you're not a power play guy the better off this team But then we just went out with the meeting This little did you ever just like in one of your jever are a fuck you match with them? No, because I'm not that guy Like he wanted me so badly. Yeah, that's what those guys like like when I got scratched We went two days without talking and all the coaches were like hey go in there. You should go see torts I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like I'm like in seven that I'm a player he makes decisions I play like if I'm not in the lineup, I'll try hard to get back in the lineup. Like it's like whatever so then eventually he came and grabbed it and we sat down in the office and he's like, what do you got for me? And I'm like, I don't agree with your decision. Like I honestly think I was close to a pointy game at this point. I don't think he gave a fly fuck. And so I literally was in his office and the roster was on the wall and I said, towards the fact that I'm in the stands and these 12 forwards are playing, I think is absolutely crazy. I said there's there's not 12 forwards on that list right there that should be ahead of me. I mean, I'm sorry, I just don't agree with it. Um, and then I think we got waxed by the rain. And I love how he says that he doesn't know like when guys are getting scratched but like, oh, it's against the rain. I got scratched against the Rangers Morgan for us got scratched in his hometown. Um, someone else got scratched about their previous team. It's just like a hidden message. But yeah, I mean, I actually appreciated some of the stuff that he did. Um, he gets the best out of his, a lot of his players. But I mean, I was an all star of the year. He's like, was he tougher on younger guy? Obviously, you were older at that point. But was he given it to younger guys too or not? No, I think he gave it to like, I think he gave it to the, who he thought was the better players to kind of like set an example. But like, I don't think I remember we met lately in the season. And it was like four games. And we have like a sit down in Dallas. And he's like, I'll try to put you in a good position these next four games to get you on a team, like, sorry for all the year ones. And I was like, a little late, a little late, but I was like, thanks. I appreciate it. And the year meetings, like, uh, did you ever give it back to him? Um, because didn't who was telling us in New York, like, was it Avery maybe? But like, once you gave it back to him, it was like, Oh, you're playing 30. Yeah, it's kind of like my keen and two, right? Like those guys who were kind of wild and tight like that. They just like a little bit of pushback. Um, that year, saying, well, this roster was pretty good. How were you guys not in the play? Was it a horrible year in St. Louis? Yeah. The team's pretty good. Yeah. Robert Thomas at 86 points. Yeah. Yeah. Our team was unreal on paper. Chief got fired that year early on. Monty took over. No. Oh, Ben. Tony D in torts at it. If you guys got Tony D on this podcast, I can ask him for the Edminton story. It's one of the best NHL stories I've seen. I don't want to tell it. Tony. Yeah. I get them. Um, remember when, uh, it was Kevin Cannotten, right? Remember when Cannotten got sent down in Columbus and his agent told him, Hey, no, no, not Scott scratch in his agent was like torts loves when you go in there and challenge him and not to win in the challenge. We got sent down the next day. He said, thanks a lot. What am I paying you for? Yeah. Oh, shit. He's a few some else. Oh my God. Did the, did any of the rushing coaches say that no points? That's all the, you know, they just want points. I got to talk to Russia yet. I didn't, I didn't have a point. It was like three games in a row. And I dumped it. It should have been at the lay a game over the glass. Hit the top of the glass, kick the center. I got a break away. And I did not have a good game. The guy said great game assist assist unreal. I was like, it's literally all they care about. Yeah, it is. It's definitely a points oriented league, like even, even the players, like I didn't really communicate a lot. I love, I love getting to know some of the guys in the team. They're actually that was really cool to like hear where they're from. If there was a kid on the kid, Dean, like you tried his hardest to speak English and super nice kid and he's like a fourth line guy over there. And it was like fun to kind of like see how like he goes about his business. And he was like, I want to go over the NHL. I just can't leave my family. And I'm like, you wouldn't be a decent like fourth line player in the NHL. But, but yeah, it's very like point oriented where guys are upset. Oh, yeah, points really. Oh, yeah. Don't they not give second assist there to you. You don't, you, if you pass, if I pass the hazy, hazy pass to Mitchell Miller scores, I get a second assist. If I shoot it on net, guy gets the hazy gets the rebound passes to Mitchell Miller. I don't get that. Which is, it's got to be direct. Yeah, which is so dumb. And like the, again, like I'm not like bashing the coach where they actually really like the coach that we had. But, um, like he just has his guys. That guys have been there for so long. Right. Cause on the end, like four guys that have been there for fucking like 12 years. And you can you tell the story of being nervous for the flight to Sochi and what the coach said? Or no. Well, the flying situ is a little sketchy. It's improved, um, over the years, wink, wink, kind of not. But no, the planes have improved for sure. But the pilot's happened. No, no. But now there's, there's more drones that ever going over there. Oh, right. Yeah. Okay, because of the war situation. Yeah. Okay. So you're dealing with different adversity. Yeah. Yeah. Like there's, there was times where we, we were on our way to Sochi. I woke up from the plane that I was at Dagestan. Which is, it could be. Not so cheap. That's where it could be thrown, man. We sat there for a few hours until the airspace was safe. And you called me when you were in, um, dying laughing. I was in disbelief. But then you could hear the rushing guys like screaming, you know, and they must have been like, what the fuck are we doing? Well, he was sirens going off. I was like, Oh, yeah. Was it, was there one or two of them that could speak broken English and you're trying to get your information from them? Oh, they were like telling me like, Hey, you ready to go to war? And I'm like, guys, my anxiety's too much for this. They are silly like that. Oh, yeah. Like I've never had a panic attack in my life. And I had three panic attacks in two weeks. Wow. Like getting dressed for a game in Torpedo and, and fall on panic attack. Why were there sirens going on? No, I just, Miller showed me a text that he got from a player. And I was like, we're going to Sochi next. Like, what was the text, but drone flying into a building and exploding that and like, that he was like sleeping in a bunker and like, for two nights. Yeah, playing over there right now as an North American seems crazy. Crazy. Yeah. I mean, did you get any rushing gas? I did it as expensive now. Oh, they make a page. I'm pretty sure. Wow. They offer you any pills. Help with a groin? No, do you get one of those blue sleeping pills with them to talactate blue shorts? No, no, no. And no, but it was crazy. Like, it is, it is cool to kind of go to a new place and just see how like there are life works. Yeah. Like they, one of the trainers there, I think his name was a refeef, refeeck maybe. I don't know, uh, made like special tea and it tastes it incredible. And I guess like it gave you energy and the whole team drank it and he walked around all the time with it. And then the trainer would walk around with like, um, this vial of yellow stuff that you just shoot into your mouth. I refused to take it. I looked at Miller and I was like, Hey, do you take this? And he's like, Oh, like, all right, I'm not taking it either. Yeah, I'll take yours. And then they would like, they had the same, which I thought was crazy. They'd have the same inhaler just be a bastard out of you. Oh, oh, yeah, lip on lip. Same tooth brush for the team. No, but I, but Kazan was actually like a scruffy toilet sweater. Really? Yeah, it really was a very nice city. It was just like, there was kind of in between. I don't know. I hope I'm not wrong. I think someone told me this, but it's in between Ukraine and Moscow. Okay. So all this stuff that was being sent was just fine over us and then our sirens would go off when I was sleeping. What were the sirens? I think it's having in the city. He's like, like to get shelter or something. Oh my god. Yeah, yeah, at the panic time. That's scary. So you play with Mitchell Miller, like, what's like, like, did you talk to him about kind of everything that went down and yeah, yeah, it actually, is he nasty? He's incredible. He's one of the best players. Like he'd be playing the NHL. 100%. Well, he'll be a top-scaled guy. Top, yeah, top 4 in NHL. It's crazy because I'm sure his game is kind of adapted to the KHL where where he like, he can get upset after shifts. Like, that shit doesn't fly in the NHL. Where like, you come back to the bench and you're like, what the fuck, but like, he's the guy with it. He's the best team in Italy. Okay. By far. Oh, interesting. Yeah, you're like 20 goals. I saw. He said a record when we play outside. She ever most assists in a playoff. Did they win it? They lost in the championship. Oh, fuck. Um, but he he's honestly, he's an incredible player. He skates so smooth. I smoothest get everybody. I would assume. Yeah, I would assume between maybe shame, maybe, but, but definitely maybe. So there's probably a ball, I would say, between 50 and 75% of people listening right now who were like, okay, why are you bringing up this kid specifically? Um, those who were tapped into the NHL and the story was like, like, he was drafted by the coyotes. And I believe like the third or fourth round and like, there was some stuff that happened in the past where he was accused of bullying a kid back in high school or not in the night in high school. Great. I want to say it was great school like when he was like, the story. Yeah. And a resurfaced and the mother who adopted the kid who he apparently bullied, like, the kid was special needs it came. Well, yes, like, but he's not. He doesn't have a disability. Right. So like, there's since since then, it's such a touchy subject. So since then, like, you talk to people behind the scenes and parts about the story have been fabricated where it's such a touchy subject where like, now that it's kind of so far gone, like me even saying that is probably not as is inflammatory as it would have been when this was all going down. Apparently, even the kid who was quote-unquote bullied was like, hey, dude, like, even I don't think you should be going through this. Like, this was back in the day and like, they actually had a friendship to a certain degree. But yeah, but those had the coyotes released them right after they draft. Yeah. And the brew is so. And then I would assume that the Bruins had looked into the actual story. And then maybe actually hearing after like, like, maybe talking to the kid who was bullied, maybe talking to me. I don't know. But then they felt like, okay, well, like, now that time has passed and things have probably cooled down. And like, I mean, this happened when when Mitchell Miller was like between like, I want to say he was like over 14 or whatever. Like, so they thought, okay, enough times passed, like he got the initial trouble had reignited it. And then obviously it was another shit storm. So I don't know if like the full true story is ever going to come out. I don't know if that like he'll ever actually be able to play in the NHL. Even me saying this, like, I hope people aren't like, oh, you're fucking insensitive. This is this is what happened. This was 100% the true story. And he did this. I think maybe some more some more digging into the story has to be done in order to truly uncover about about how it played out. But a lot of time has passed. And regardless of of what has happened, I would assume that he is quote unquote learned his lesson, even if there was one to be learned how old is if he did everything that was described. Yeah. No. I mean, I went to dinner with with Mitch every night. I was over there. He I didn't have one dollar the whole entire time. I was in rush. Because so he paid for every single thing him in this train of Brandon, who's an unbelievable guy as well. So he literally like, he got me ubers. He got me coffee. He got me food. Oh, because the credit cards aren't working there now. And I didn't have one yet from the team. Yep. And so I actually spent a lot of time with them. And I didn't the first day. I didn't want to ask about it. But he actually brought it up. He's like, yeah, I'm sure you have questions about like what happened. And I was like, you know what? Like I want to listen to what he says. And I'm sure he's going to say it from a side of like only his point of view. Where I'm like, okay, let me hear what you have to say. But also there's another side. There was a big story, man. It took over the hockey world. And so we started talking about it. And I actually, I couldn't believe the story he was telling me like, if his version's true, you can't believe that he's like, and we've talked about it a lot since then. And like, I can't see a situation where his story isn't true. And again, I don't want to communicate with the kid. Yeah, still to this day. I don't, I think the kid's gone a decent amount of trouble in the last couple of years. So basically what what he said, he was like, what I did was wrong. 100%. But after listening to what he actually did is I can almost guarantee that bullies back in our day and bullies even today do worse than what he did. Yeah, obviously not excusing it. No, not excusing it at all. I know he fucked, he knows he knows he fucked up 100% and he knows as like a younger kid, he learned his lesson. And he obviously, I mean, everyone wishes he didn't do it. And I'm not like promoting like boolean or like, I'm not choosing a side here. I'm just kind of saying what he told me. And like, he kind of just like, like dirtyed up a lollipop in a toilet. Yeah, he gave it to the kid and the kid licked it and then he said, Hey, this is right. It's a lollipop. They started to wrestle. And that was basically it. And then the kids foster mom, who also fosters like 30 plus kids saw that signed and was with Phoenix and with the Bruins. And she called them and was like, I can't believe you're doing this. Did now, let's back it up here. Did like, when that happened, like, like, did they did him and Mitchell have a, uh, they had a friendship. Oh, yeah, they were pure friends. It was kind of like, it's, it's what's bad. And what's like being like, um, communicated was obviously if this kid's got a mental illness and he's not like, he's not capable of knowing knowing that you're basically like, that's like ridiculous. That's bullying, like, that's like, that's unacceptable, right? But you're saying, like, even after that that had happened, like, it was kind of like, I'm, I'm fucking around with my buddy. Yeah. They wrestled out where they, like, they were still communicating in friends. Oh, yeah, 100% like, they were like playing. He was drafted four or five years later. Yeah. They were playing football all the time together. Like, decently friends. And then as time went by, like, I don't know the extent of their friendship later on in life. But I know that they still communicated. He was going to, um, I know he reached out to him. I was like, listen, what you're going through is I heard that and Mitchell is like, I would love for you to be at my first, I can tell game. He was going to buy him a box, him and his family a box. Um, but yeah, like the, the big thing that happened was the foster mom kind of saw that his, that her foster son was texting with Miller still and went through his phone records, uh, and called the Bruins and Phoenix. What had happened with Phoenix, sorry, when he's drafted, did they release it release it like that they know before the draft that I'm assuming they did. They know I, I, yeah, I think that they did like, uh, they did do diligence. I'd like a fuck, I remember I said don't draft me. I'm not like ready. Or was that a difference? No, that was, that was a difference of story. That was a different story. Um, I think they did their due diligence and probably heard like what is more of the actual and reality of what actually happened and felt like, oh, okay, well, like that's like way less fabricated than the, the bad story about, you know, why he had to go through with all the stuff he did. So it's kind of just an ugly situation that like anything like if it was ever that bad, you would hope that everybody just kind of gets together and like you just make, make a man's, yeah, you move on. And I think he's done like a lot of stuff like what's the call when you're like getting trouble. Rehabilitation, yeah, like stuff like that where like NHL made him do it and whatever, maybe his agent told him to do it and I think he did a lot is like, he kind of, he's definitely paying for what he did. Um, as, as he given up on the NHL, he's gonna try to come back. I think one more time, 24, 24, I think that's crazy. And like we say to my kids all the time, like, especially with if you have social media and stuff, like something that you do at 12 years old can affect your life. Yeah, like that's crazy. I think it goes without saying, like we're not making light of this situation. We kind of just like want like, I just want for him to come back. I would love for him to go through Gary Batman and the correct investigation of what truly happened. And if they come to the point where they said, what you did is not accept hope for this league, then okay, then he doesn't deserve to come back. But I after like hanging with them and chatting with them, he's a great kid. He's a super nice kid. He's, and don't let the online most, which is kind of probably what buried him after the bar 100% and I'm sure like, I'll probably get buried for saying this, but like we're talking about this. I think it ultimately, we like, you just want the truth to be what everyone I just think that if the truth is the worst possible case scenario, but why he's not in the league and why he never will be will then so be. Yeah, but if that's not what's the truth, that's what's kind of upsetting. And with the most confusing part about when like it originally happened and I talked to the agent and I spoke with Mitchell Meller, I wanted to hear his side of it. Like, do I remember everything about the conversation at this point? No. The most confusing part was the fact that the kid had reached out to him. At that point, I think that maybe the the foster mother had stepped in where she didn't want him to communicate with him. And he wrote like, I feel bad that you're going through all this and it's kind of like reignited at all. And to hear the person who was the victim in all this say that was, I guess, just confusing to me where you're like, oh, fuck, I know. Like this is something where people could just get in the room and like, like even if there is still punishment to be served, like serve it, like somehow some way make amends where everybody can go back to living their normal life. But then there's other people who might say, no, man, playing in the NHL as a privilege. And regardless of how young that person was like, he shouldn't be allowed to for the rest of his life based on something he did when he was 12 years old. years old. What's that? What's the right answer? How do you, where do you go? And it's just a little quick, where this could be on the golden nights. If you sit back in the league, it's just that I didn't know what he said. He goes, I think he said, pinky in the brain or look at sign them with the golden nights. I got to get going. Yeah. Well, buddy, this is awesome. I mean, we'll fucking be having you on way more. I mean, you guys could continue the interview. I got to go run with Noble. Good luck in your run, yes. Yeah, we got to figure out how hazy's a part of this because I've always pictured it. I've always kind of wanted it. So congrats on amazing career, hazy. I mean, I feel so bad knowing what you were going through. Haven't been there. But I hope you appreciate how everyone I've ever met that played with you loved you. Yeah. And being as good of a team in as you were, it goes far beyond the numbers and whatever you accomplish, which was a lot. Yeah, appreciate that. Thank you for having me. All right, guys, listen up. It's time to talk rowback and you know we're hockey guys, but we can appreciate college football season, go dogs. And nobody does it better than rowback. Rowback just dropped the game day collection and it's custom designed for every single school, polo's, quarters, hips, hoodies, all built specifically for your team's colors, not some template with a logo slapped on. And soft, comfortable feel you already know. And here's talk about just rep in your favorite school. If you want to look as good, rep in your team as the boys hoist in the cup, look rep in theirs head to rowback.com, RHO BACK.com and use code chicklets for 20% off your first purchase through the end of the week. Pinkies up, pinkies up, pink Whitney was everywhere this weekend. People, you know, just giving me a pinkies up as I walk by very good. A lot of pictures with both of our pinkies up. One guy who said he should have won the contest for the pinky on the billboard. His pinky was mangled. But I almost agreed with them that it was so mangled that could have looked good in times Square on a billboard, but still shout out pink Whitney, all the winning teams. I think they received a big case of shooters. So those were gone immediately as was everyone else crush and pink Whitney on the rocks or with a little soda water throughout the chicklets cup. So even though summer's over and some people think summer is the time for pink Whitney fall and winter, it goes down smooth, no matter the temperature outside. So everyone, thank you for your support of pink Whitney. If you haven't tried it, go give it a shot. Pinkies up. Thank you so much to Hazy. We will talk in him very soon. I love him. So let's bring in the war dog. Hello, where are we all got you? Where are we buddy? Welcome to our raise world care with the spit and chicklets podcast. Guys, I have a good excuse for no voice this year taking care of my squad yelling at him when I wasn't getting the penalty calls, which I had to do a few too anytime. So I'm a little hoist after my first actual coaching experience. All right. You said great. Ron, we're going to get into that. But I have to bring up something immediately. I heard you're going to have to get your statement on this. Let's go. So I was told that at the Harpoon Brewery, we had a kind of a room upstairs. Yes. We're ever going to go up, get some food and stuff. Yeah. I was told you walked in there and you said, is there a lost and found here? And somebody said, I don't know. And you said, I lost, I left my headphones here. And the person was like, Oh, I must have left them yesterday. And you said last year. Yeah. You want a little couple of details, maybe a bit off. I was in the list three miles away from me. I know. I know. I had like, I had a couple of other peers already. So let me can I give them a yes, yes, yes, yes. So you know that obviously I was sitting there shooting shoot memes. I had my backpack in there. And in my backpack, I have my pair of my headphones, which of which the same kind I left the last year at the chicklets cup. And I was like, as I came by, it goes, this is a fucking funny question. It goes, I go, I left a pair of these. The last day goes, I go, is that like I lost them. And he's like, Oh, look, I feel about you know, no big deal. You don't have to look. And he actually checked. He's like, no, no dice. I wasn't expecting to be there. But literally it was just because the headphones are the exact same kind in my bag. Or I'm lying in you. Exactly. Okay. So you didn't go over over the past three or six five days because you had another pair at home. Exactly. Okay. Exactly. But that makes more sense. Okay. Glad we get more sense. All right. All right. So like, yeah, I get to the coach and then let's see guys, the 617 locals. I know when, when I, and I always say Irish coach it in quotes, it's, it's always been a gimmick, right? Like, you know, it sure as you would ever, I'm not going to tell any gel draft picks on a play, fucking heart. Right. Well, these animals didn't get the fucking memo, that it wasn't a gimmick or it wasn't gimmick. And like, so the first game started, like, you know, you kind of see them looking like not deferring those players. And I was like, Oh, fuck it. They think I'm an actual coach here. So I went in like fucking like coach mode, even though, you know, these girls are D1 pro players. They're all studs on ice hockey. And I realized, Oh, shit. You know, I, you know, locking out as a coach here. And so with first game, there was only one bench. I think you had the same situation. And so I went over and put, you know, put my couple drinks there, whatever sort of mocked the territory, walked across the court, told my gals. Let's go like, well, I want to turn back to the other team and fucking I took the bet. I go, I guess you can't mock your territory anymore, huh? And they're like, yeah, we're, we're taking it. I was like, whoa. And that like got my Irish up right? I was like, would you get it back? Or did they get it? Oh, I was like, wouldn't make it. I mean, I was like, Oh, these caddy bitches. I was like, all right. That's right. My team said I can say that. No. So I was like, I, I goes, they wouldn't friggin. They wouldn't, you know, they took the bench. So they were a couple. They were two warm up balls. And I grabbed them. And I, they were basically think I was going to go one, one way. And I just threw them both down my girls. And so they couldn't get up. I was like, wow, am I had had games already, you know? So yeah, it was, it was very intense games. I mean, and these girls, none of them, the 11 girls, I knew three of them before Thursday. They all played, like I said, top level ice hockey, not one of them ever played street hockey before. The goalie, it was the ice hockey goalie, never played street hockey goalie once. And they, they would, they play like, like you would expect from like Boston folks. They know, no helmets, no pads. They weren't even with chin pads. They're all hacked up right now. And it's just weird how it like, you know, like we talked about sport and how, you know, how it's just as a power to it. And buddy, I sucked in sports. I didn't have a big competitive street. But this weekend, it was just kind of like, it was different. It let's something that it's weird how it just two days and four games you have this, like unique, crazy bonding experience with that. You get the coaching bug now. He told me that he's got the ball. I swear to God, I swear to God, I told you guys a story. So we got, we got spoke the first game to the eventual champions, 10, 4. And the second game, you know, we're down one in one of the girls, dad's Pete awesome dude. He come over game a little pep truck up the half. So it's getting down like, you know, just pull the goalie time with down a goalie. I walked all I say, Pete, what did you think about that? Pulling the goalie. He looked at me smile. He goes, coachman, that's your call. And I was like, fuck and sort of like fighting me up. I was like, oh, shit. So I went over and we were bomb bomb on the other team. Like, I'm like, and you know, how quick you can get an empty net and it was cool. So I'm like, I'm not going to make the call and I'll blow it for him. I go, I got faith in them. And then we ended up tying it like 30 seconds left and ended up losing in a shootout. And after I was in the locker room, it was empty. Everyone had gone. It was the last game of the day. And I felt like the opposite, like her Brooks in America was like sweating all like to spawn that I was like, it was like, it was just he's like a business emotions and sport that I never felt before. Like you don't have to play to to feel that same way. When you do it with again, these eight and nine of the gals I'd never met before. And then after we got knocked out one of the opponents and gave me a hug as a, we're family now. I really, you know, it's like, it's like, how do you, how do you not like, you know, get a little choked up with that? And it's, you know, like these gals, like whatever, or whenever I see these these gals for the rest of my life, that that'll always be there. I mean, they're already the texting this morning is trying to get me killed. I'll drink them. Oh, I mean, they would drink. Oh, either. I don't know. I don't know. You know, so I have 20 minutes. Yeah, I'll shoot. Can you send me an Uber? I think my microphone's broken make up with, I think we're done. Yeah. No, so I do want to, I want to show them all out here. I'm, uh, Carol Wall, Katie Pine, Genesee Bull, Bridget, or Molly Griffin, Maddie Crowley, Kayle, Lauren Keller, Skylar Irvin, uh, Frankie Frelik, Amy Scali and Maddie Kodachi and Frankie Frelik, if that name sounds familiar, brother plays for the Brewers. So I got, yeah, yeah, uh, Sal Frelik, he's right. Feel the, and I got wind, you know, I got wind that one of the players on the team, uh, brother on the Brewers. So I have an old Brewers out when I went to a bachelor party in Chicago a few years ago. We went up to Milwaukee. You have a hot of every team. Yeah, every sport too. Yeah. So I, I pulled out, I put it in the bag, brought it over with me. And I said, yeah, I said, you really want the brother on the Brewers? She said, yeah, I said, look, I don't know if we had anyone playing because I just had this for years. She's like, are you serious? So she wore it for the, for the game. We won the first game. She wore it. It was just, you know, it's all that right. That, that's coaching magic right now. And that's making a difference from behind the bench. Yeah. And, uh, and, you know, after we've done, she came over and, remember, she gave it a back to me. I didn't even think about it. I was like, oh, I says, I, you can have me on one. I know it's a little, might be a little grungy. I said, but I, you know, I was, I love it if you have it. She was like, she's like, oh, my God. So she kept the hat like, and I never get my fucking hats away, but, but this is how long until you text coop for an assistant job and to have by, uh, well, I'll probably, oh, if it's a system, I don't know, I don't know, maybe you could, he's like, I'm a head coach, not even as, not even for a generous, like, what if he just, what if he just shadowed him? Yeah. Right? That's when he was telling, when he was telling me he had the bug. He had the scally cap on. I thought I was talking to Pat Burns. Yeah. He's like, this is like, I think honestly you should start coaching like, I don't know, p-wee or something. working way up. Well, I know I'll definitely be back next year. Like we go, they start an Instagram account six, one, seven locals. And I can say it's just a sports like the feeling that, you know, in this level is a, yeah, coach, because I never really did before. And I met a lot of their parents who were there for a lot of checklets, fans, dads, a couple of them had the hats on and stuff. And in care of my friend from Charlottesnut, her dad, you know, used to pop my Budweiser bottle caps 100 years ago and Quincy Mockett. So it's just like, wait, what do you mean, what do you mean? I used to go to buy hip-hop to do that. Okay. So one thing though, a few of them came to me, they weren't, they weren't too thrilled about the lack of, you know, videos from the game. I know, obviously, other teams take precedence. But so I say, yeah, you coach your coaches right there. Wait, there was the one of me saying, I'm a camera guy, it's the fuck off. So, oh, you know what the issue there was? All right, it was the music was planned during their games. So we had a couple of good videos that we couldn't post. I got a good video of you coaching. I'll send it over to you so you can have it. But we couldn't post on social because of the music. Why, who's putting on the music if we know everything's possibly filmed? Well, people want music during their games. Yeah, yeah, that's true. If we shut it off during the big deal, selects the stranglers. Okay, for the other games, people. Yeah, for the guys who know, like a few in the Warner plan. It's more serious. So yeah, like they said, it was just, with all the gals, just an awesome experience. And now, yes, I'm all always remember. And then as far as the rest of the week, I mean, like two for two here in Boston. Like, I mean, I think seven of us have a checklist cups. But the location, the awesome weather, just the people. How many people come out on a Friday or a work week air in Boston? And it's just everything was just great, man. It was an awesome time. Terry Ryan, oh, I got to get to that. Me and Terry Ryan were great pals. We had our first fuck you, fuck you match. I think he's on edge right now. There's a lot of, there's a lot of how we don't know what, you know what? Well, I probably was more contributed to stories that the argument than anything. But you know, when you're in Boston, don't let the new visual of the oobies. I guess it's probably the lesson from here is he, you know, Terry's more ADD than me. I was like, T, I would, I would, I would stand up for Terry on outside. So anyway, like the third car, I think we checked. We finally get in the open and like, he keeps, yeah, you know, yeah, but what? We're off the goal. T, you know, you gotta like kind of make see when the car's coming wherever. So we get in and we're driving way longer than it should have been to get the fucking Roccos. And I look at the map and we're going like toward over the bridge, toward like downtown. And I was like, I was like, but are we going the right way to the driver? I never got glared at a fucking oobie driver like he gave me a death there. And like, I'm looking at the map and he pulls off. I was like, where are we going to do it's like 355 commercial street. I was like, where are we going? That's the north end. I'm like, what? Like, I got over, I put in Roccos. Roccos come up and I punched the thing. He was like, what's it? What's it? More than one Roccos around here. I was like a matter of fact, everything. There is more than one Roccos. He put the north end one in. So we start fuck you in each other because like we're both aggravated and the drivers will not help at all. And then he's like, he's like, I'm looking up the address of Moxies. It's near Moxies. I'm like, Terry, I have the address to Roccos here. Don't put in a fucking. So like, you know, whatever we get out, what he and East Island West, but when I get back in the bike, he loves voicemails instead of like, I was like, I love your buddy. I go, sorry, a little little fucking snapshot there, but it was over two seconds as that's Terry. It was kind of funny. We never had a beef before. But I would love the video from that. We were all excited. Your style. Oh, you, I bet you, Pierre will come off more coherent coherent. Oh, I, we, he was in the, he was in the car. He was there. He was in the car. That he was in the car. What was it? Yeah. I was there. I see you. Was it a, was it a big, was it a big fighter? No, but I tell him that was the like one kilometer from the place and we run like for 10 minutes. Like, don't go and check on the thing and it's just called where we love her. Correctly. So yeah, post chick is called on right now episodes are not. It's a raise world. You know the drill. I know. This is our A's. Well, yeah. This is a crazy. Oh, they all are. Ideally. So, so it's a bitty. I earlier in the night and, you know, my squad was there. So I want to have a few with them and we had some tables reserved. But they were, you know, we weren't enough people. They had the signs on them. But, you know, some places like to sit there until the people who reserved to get there. And we had enough people to like, all right, let's go sit there. Sure. So the, the last table on the right, I want to know when there was a couple sit there. It's like, sorry, I hate to be that guy. But, you know, these spots are reserved and the girls like reserved time. I was like, yeah, the reserve. She like, I just think I'm lying to get you out of the seat. She's like and gets out of all sassy. I was like, you, I can go grab the, the manager and tell, tell you, I don't know if she was a regular or whatever. So they stay in there and she's fucking staring at me who take it like with her phone. I don't know if his video or pictures and I'm smiling because like, what the fuck through she came over, what a kid, a kid sitting next to him, I could get up. She's like, oh, these are reserved and try to grab the fucking empty chair next to me and pull it away. And I grabbed the fucking and yanked it back. Am I doing it? Are you a boyfriend? Do you have any hockey written down that little note ears right over there? This is crazy. Easy word. We're. Yeah. The funny story's been, you know, that's the animal did she, um, did she like grab the chair back? Was this a wrestling match? Yeah. And then she sat down, then her boy from bombing over and grabbed it by the arm and pulled her out of there. She was not aligned. What? NHL hockey. Do you have written down on that paper or do you have any very little, I mean, it's shit that's company or anything. I mean, the broans have been on fire. I mean, I know that question for you. That guy too. I really get the fall probably with, you know, with three days, which this is nothing wrong with this. It actually cracks me up. I don't know if it's true or not. When you go to the Warren tavern, do you, if there's, if there's no seats at the bar, like make people get off because you get a seat automatically. No. Okay. And I told the guy, there's no way he does that. No, no, no. When you get clam chowder, do you get a straw and drink it out of the straw? No. No, I don't. Wow. Big time. He's going around about. Have you ever? Oh, one time the fucking my, my, I'm sure it was my buddy, my buddy's little brother monkey. He's, I love him. He's a bit of a pack of heads sometimes. He's like, I drink a soup chowder. He's like, what is it? Is it some stupid thing that they, I did it like one little ship just to answer that kid must have seen this. And it's true. Yeah. He's like, yeah, he gets chowder, puts a straw in it. I was like, what is going on right now, 100, so fabricated like the headphone story. Yeah. Everything's fabricated about you, fabricated, the bra with the woman. Pop of the course. There's always a, you know, a little salt and well, salt, pepper, paprika, cinnamon and everything else on some of these. You know what's funny is last night, we were at Rocco's outside and I kind of came up with a grind my gears because a couple of these souped up cars drove by. Don't say cars in front of your cousin. That's sorry, Pierre. No, for always make loud noises. Oh, yeah. They, these guys, they put these mufflers on the hard and like, they cruise around downtown areas. Like, people think they're sweet when they're fucking just making all this ruckus and noise. I was like, I just want to go up to the window and be like, boy, it's like everyone here in this line thinks you're a fucking loser with that muffler on and that they just think they're the sweetest. Would you? What's worse, that or just like having music so loud as you're kind of like in traffic in the city? No, if you want to bump your tunes with the windows down, sure, it's not as bad, but I just don't get these whole souped up cars to just make noise. And if you're that much of like a car enthusiast and you like zipping your fancy car around, why wouldn't you just go to like the boonies where you can actually drive it around and like, simmer around, see them exactly now, how loud is yours? How loud is your truck? It's not loud. Not too bad. No, okay. No diesel engine. Yeah, but it's not like that. It's. Yeah. And you're and you're not in downtown. You know, you're, you know, you're driving driving. Doing turns. What was it like? Blueish purple kind of the cat because I don't want me. That's could be a color. It's high. It's fast. Let's get the fuck out of everybody because what that always the same kind of either way. So that's my dry my gears is the guys who drive these around thinking they're cool. They'll lose hair about how loud their car is through a downtown city. It's like, you're not that sweet. You're actually a fucking loser. So if you drive one of those cars, fuck you. Grab my gears. All right. Brought to you by R.A. In terms of R.A. I know you're the guy who gives the recommendations for shows. Yeah. I'll give one quick just to like get into yours. If you have one, I think you're writing one down right now. I'm gonna write down you said the Nick Saban documentary. I think it might be six parts. I've watched the first two. It looks incredible. It's unreal. And Keith and I were wondering. I think it started Thursday and I was like, I think the Jordan last dance, Charo, you guys. I think his was produced by him or whatever. So it was kind of like, I don't know, you know, like there were some things maybe negative about Jordan, but it wasn't, wasn't anything bad. There's guys on this about Saban who like didn't necessarily like him. So it's coaches or players player, although like the second episode, the guy kind of started like mentioning stuff that he really liked about him. But his initial, it's Ronaldo McLean or Rolando McLean, this old linebacker. When they go to him first, it's like, wow, this guy and him, like they don't, they don't get along or didn't get along. Like he was a fucking asshole. Like what did you say? Pretty him. Yeah, kind of. But like, I don't know. You kind of have to watch it and check it out. But it's unreal. They go, they go back in time, like, but it's, it's kind of all over the place, but in a way that you're not confused. It's just, I'm so impressed by it. It's awesome. The one clip I saw was Julio Jones and how he got emotional about how he basically like he, he taught him how to be a complete pro. Julio Jones seemed like he had a great hat on his shoulders and he was going there to become the best. Well, he was like, when he went there, his first recruiting class, he basically said like Julio Jones changed everything. He's like, I had to get him. He's from Alabama and everyone in Alabama had been leaving to go to other schools. He's like, we're losing. I think he said that we're putting a fence around this state. He ain't losing guys that are from the state and that year, the top 15 prospects from Alabama. He got all 15. And I think the last one was Julio Jones, but he said that's the one we needed. So it was, it's just a great dog. Here's another one to the guy who he was bald. He played for the L.A. Rams and he won the Super Bowl with them and I believe he retired right after they'd won that just like a big lineman. He's doing television right now. He was interviewed for it and he, when he got recruited by Sabin, every other school was recruiting him as a tight end and was telling them everything he wanted to hear and Sabin showed up to his house. He goes, listen, I'm just going to shoot you straight. He goes, all these teams are going to promise you the world. They're going to have you pay the tight end position, but he's like, I think that you should be actually this position. And the guy is like, Andrew Whitworth. Andrew Whitworth. Really? So he was one of the best linemen of all time, isn't it? He was a tight end. No shit. Yeah. And Sabin's like, I don't see you as a tight end. I see you as this position and I'm going to help mold you and he goes, he goes, if you want to play in the NFL for 15, 20 years, I think that you can play that position and I'll turn you into an all pro. That was one player. And he, like, believed that him went there, don't even know if he started that first year, but taught him the fundamentals of how to be that position. So to hear, like obviously, like a lot of these schools will go into these recruiting meetings and just tell you what you want to hear. But when you hear somebody with conviction, tell you, like, straight up, like, this is what you need to hear and I'm not going to tell you what you want to hear. I think that it has an impact and people are sometimes floored because everybody talks to him how they think they want to be talked to. There was another player might have been Mark Ingram, who said same thing. Everyone's coming in. He's like, I could have gone anywhere. I don't remember exactly what it was and what Sabin went in and he's like, the comment that God, and he goes, we're going to win with it without you. And the kid was like, and he ended up, ended up going, but it's great, Matt. It's like, and the NCAA actually changed a rule because he was recruiting so much. The guy literally didn't stop. They like put a limit on how much you can recruit. It was the same. There's windows. Yeah. There's windows because he was just nonstop, like I'll work and everyone. But it's awesome. So far, I'm like, I'm really excited to see the rest of it. Last thing, last clip. And Georgia went into Bamman one for the first time since 2007. The last clip I saw from Matt and this is really cool on the jail and hurt side of it. He was a clip of when they were in the championship game and Sabin from a coaching standpoint realized like, we're not going to win this game. If we don't pass the ball and it hurts, was not a strong passer, but tool was. So he went in at halftime and he went in the coaches room and they meet right away. And he told the quarterback coach or offensive coordinator, he's I in dayball too, with a pretty respect game. He goes, he goes, we need to change quarterback. And he's like, what? He's like, we're not going to win this game unless we start throwing the ball and he goes, well, who's going to go in there and tell him he's like, well, clearly, you don't want to do it. So he went and did it. And then at halftime in the finals, at halftime of that game against Georgia, I don't think they'd lost the game all season. So to have the fucking balls to realize that. And then in like, imagine like, I mean, keep in mind, he probably won a couple of maddies at that point. Anyways, you're playing with the host's money and not a lot of people are questioning his decisions, but imagine like the ridicule to have the mindset of where you don't even care or think about that. You're just in the moment and know you need to do that. But Jalen Hertz, like, accepted it was a great teammate about it. Didn't make a fuss about it. Supported his guy and he ended up winning a national championship. And I even think that he went back that next year to a still started, Jalen Hertz continued to work on his fundamentals. And then eventually was obviously drafted and became a Super Bowl champion. So just the culture, he did transfer, he did transfer to Oklahoma, but he that next year he was back there as the back up. Then yes. So he went back to Alabama. Yeah. I wasn't like Matt Jones on that team too. They had like three and a half of a quarterback, a crazy quarterback from really cool. Like, I mean, obviously it's like going viral right now, seeing all these clips. We'll have to end up watching the whole thing because it gives you Sabin's background as a player and how he evolved and man, you have to have, you have to be the most type of a person to get up every day, fucking probably crack it on and walk football. Football. It was great to check it out. That's my recommendation. I'm sorry. All right. No, thanks. No, I'll give it a look. See, I didn't say I'm never one of my favorite guys. I just think I don't think coach. Okay. I think coach football coaches in general, kind of a lot of them are kind of pack of heads. But I'll give it a whirl, but I saw the clip talking about clips because what his wife said. Like, she gave him a tongue lashing about how much of an asshole he was to the media and how much he treated how bad he treated was treating people and stuff like that. And I was like, oh, looks like I'm going to validate it by his old lady, but I'll give it a whirl, but yeah, he, I don't think he was a particularly warm friendly guy. And his wife, you know, telling him to stop being an asshole, I think kind of backs that up a little bit. Well, ironically, when, when Bama lost to Georgia, Saturday night last night, a player on Georgia, I think he's a five star top 15 recruit in the country. Lee, I believe his last name is, took a stupid panel, like just the most brain dead penalty. Wait a minute. Were they both kind of badly battling, but then like he gave him the extra punch, like total, like the ref sees the last one retaliation. They gave him a penalty. I think it was a penalty. The kid part in Georgia took a little bit of a dive, but the coach is going over and he screaming at him. You just cost us the game. You just cost the game. The kid wouldn't look at him. So then the old player, Haha Clinton, Dick's is on the sideline who ironically I had his like, I think his dad drove me around at Bay Hill on a golf trip one time. He told me he was his dad, I was like, Ha, your Ha, Clinton, Dick's dad, he showed me his license. It was Clinton, Dick's. Is your name your son? Ha, ha. Well, he, he's on the sideline and he made the kid like turn and face the coach and he gave him one more. You just cost us the game and fans are like, some fans are like, this is ridiculous. You don't say that to a player in the tweet. I was like, saving what a shot him, but I, I don't think like that is something that's over the line at that level in sports for a coach to be like, you just cost us the game. That is buddy. These kids were making millions of dollars. Now I couldn't believe how many people were like, can't believe the coach said that to the kid. It's like, he's not 10. I think once you, the start paying the college players, you can't, there's no more like paths on them. No, no. No, everyone gets a medal. No, you get treated like the pressure. They're all under. Yeah. I mean, gotta keep your head there. I also watched the exchange run like they were both getting hands. You like to have like, I, I, I, I, I, I will agree. Do that. As the ref, like, like, why are you now making yourself a factor in the game? Like, that's when you go over and you say, listen, boys, if I see you punch one another or be any, it's like that again. I'm fucking throwing the flag on the, on the one of them. And that's where you give the warning. Like, I just, I watched the exchange. It seemed like it was kind of a bullshit call, but a accountability. We dealt with bad rafting all weekend. A whole funny. A couple of the other notes from the cup. I did want to shut out men's role at eight. I don't know if any of you guys saw that. The best game. Well, they, they have the court now too. I think we had it last year where it makes the game so fast, Adam Ernie playing just dominate. He was playing in the NHL last year. Adam Ernie. Yeah. I think still looking for a contract. All right. I'll go down and win a share of $5,000 of the chicklets cup. Morals was upset. He was in their dominant. Morals was rattled. So I don't know if that he could be, be in center of the mind. He's on on game. No twins there. Yeah. I walked over from the, the woman's final just to check the score. And they tied it like the blue team tied it was like one second left, 10, 10. They weren't five, a five, four minute overtime, nothing. And then like eight or nine round shootouts. Like I can't, well, I can't leave this for a game right now. No, no. Shout out to our buddies Westie and Trizz. Those guys have been hit since Detroit. So awesome guys. Shout out to the state troopers there for a little bit watch watching the game. I asked them if they were. They were at warrants. Keith. Because when you guys were playing, they were on the child's tongue. So I can guys up. And I just even some old friends about like a college buddy come by. I haven't seen him in 20 years. Nobody moves. Crawford. Noreen. Sean some old friends. And that's always good to see some old friends there. Back to like the music. What I think maybe some games, you know, like rock a park and New York City, up in Harlem when they play basketball in the summer, they have some, not necessarily play by play. But I think it might be helpful in some games like when this confusion like latent, what the game. We didn't, people didn't know if it was penalty shots or going over time or near the TR. Posting the rules like all over the facility, like all over the ground to be better too. Just like big like this is the rule for over time. This is. Yeah. Just post them everywhere. Yeah. And also maybe a big school board. I think that. Yeah. Got to take your stuff. Again, awesome stuff. Manage is a fantastic weekend. Can't wait until next year. Well, good job. All right. Thank you. Thank you. Good job to all. Thank you so much to everyone at Barstool as well. Every single guy on that squad, Terry, senior, Andy Harry, uh, Howzer, con man, uh, Koyne Crocker, the list goes on. Who am I forgetting here? Your goalie. Bish. Both bish's. Yeah. Both bish's. Haji haji fucking there's a good seven-year-old man was a good one. I love you boys. I appreciate everybody playing like those guys like you said like they got work. They got to go to work. They played yeah, everyone traveling in man. So cool. Thank you so much everyone who comes and the on the bench boys as well.
