The transcript blends multiple topics, from a discussion of the party game "Bar Soul" and its social deduction mechanics, to deep dives into NHL season dynamics, player trades, and team strategies. It highlights the competitive energy around the Minnesota Wild, with fans and analysts debating their playoff chances, player contracts, and leadership changes. A central narrative centers on the rumored effectiveness of a massage therapist, Stephanie Fowler, whose techniques are believed to boost team focus and performance, adding a unique layer to the Wild’s success. The conversation also touches on player development, such as young stars like Celebrini and Stenberg, who are seen as future leaders with high potential. There are discussions about player agency, trade requests, and management decisions, emphasizing how modern hockey operations balance player desires with team stability. The tone is energetic and conversational, driven by fan engagement and real-time analysis. Meanwhile, a separate segment promotes Still Blue coffee, emphasizing its quality, protein content, and mission to support animal rescues. The narrative concludes with a blend of sports commentary, behind-the-scenes team dynamics, and a playful, engaging tone that reflects the hosts’ deep involvement in the hockey community.

It's a full-time member. Marley just gotten us this from Chris Bate. Whoa, where buzzing right now? We are back boys. Oh my god, the NHL has finally arrived. It is, it is the day we've all waited for his Keith Murls. Thanks for joining us this show. But show me first, the beginning of hockey, but not the beginning of pinkies out boys. Pink, pink Whitney's everywhere. We've talked many times about the competition. Show your pinky. Show us the greatest pinky out there. When, when money get on a billboard, you know, look at Murr's got the ball. I'm surprised the things not gone after a long rainy weekend with the norrister. I had some real issues, boys, and they remain still right now. I can talk you about that in a minute, but biz. What's going on? Are you ready to go? I'm ready to go, buddy. I had a great weekend back home. Just relax. Got my energy stored up and it's going to be a hell of a week. We get things kicked off. Well, this is going to drop on Tuesday. So this is the start of the NHL season. I get things going on Wednesday on TNT kicking things off with a battle of Pennsylvania. And then we get to see the two old folks homes go at it. We got to see the Colorado avalanche and the LA Kings, the two oldest teams in the league go out, go out at late night. They're getting out past their bedtime. I do. I do. You just brought up the old goats. Then I'm reminding me of you, dog and Colorado. Keith dog, Colorado, then your dog Minnesota, Keith dog, Minnesota. Murrls is the original hater of the wild. What did you think about Billy G getting on TV, getting ready for the season and reminding the world? What do I think of it or what does Murrls think? I've never been happier in my life when I heard you two guys going against Minnesota. Like thank God, they'll all leave me alone now. That was one of the hardest months of my my life last year in the playoffs. Having to root against them, my DMs getting flooded with all those fans. So I thank you guys for taking all that and, you know, I'm always been a Billy G guy. So I loved him calling you out the other night. In fairness, they get mentioned. How does that happen? He was, he was like, I agree with you. He was right behind me. Mind you, Murrls never got called out on TV. Murrls called them frauds. I just said they're working to make playoffs and that's when he was going to get traded. And that's why I thought that in mind you. Army was orchestrating all of this because he was on site in Minnesota. He was orchestrating all this trying to sue us to our good friend, Billy G. Yeah. I think he might have told them originally. That's where he first heard. Now, biz, I do want to give you the chance to address and for people who don't know what Billy G said was, why would you ever listen to a guy about playoff hockey who never played in the playoffs? But biz, he's wrong by one second. Fake news, fake news. I don't think we can roll the clip because we don't have the rights. But Jans was there. He saw me step on the ice and then leave one second later down the tunnel, which reminds you, I remember staying Wilson apologizing to me saying like, Oh, I always check the fighting straps. I'm pretty sure he undid mine. So they get a little bit more room on the bench being like, we don't let's just let them fight and then we get more leg room. This guy fucking rides the Harley on here anyway. Let's go. Let's get him out of here. So I did my job. I was down the tunnel. Now, I have a theory as to two theories and maybe both are the reason that I was so negative and down on on the central to the whole central really Minnesota. You were, Minnesota, Paul Rotto and Dallas. I had already talked about the Louisiana purchase beforehand and those three states are involved in it. So I'd already like blown my nut on positivity when it comes to the state of Minnesota. Texas and Colorado. And then when it came to them, I just just kind of like fed up about talking about those states and I was really down and out on them. So I fucked that one up. And my other theory is is that Wanton brought some trail mix with them to peaking and it was laced with like ketamine from fucking mincees house. So I think that that yeah, I think that that was still having its effects on me and I wasn't big and straight. And if I could have a redo, I would have Minnesota and playoffs. And the reason also I say that is even if Quinn Hughes was saying, hey, I'm not going to tell you I'm resigning anywhere until the off season. I still think Billy G cares his balls around in a wheelbarrow and that he would say, okay, you don't have to tell us. I'm still riding with you and he would ride with Quinn Hughes all the way to the end of the season knowing that he might not get the return back that he gave up for him, which is kind of crazy. And I'd be interesting if we pulled Minnesota fans or even just to ask you guys right now. If you're GM of the Minnesota wild and he was telling you coming near the deadline, hey, I don't know. I'm not going to be able to tell you what I'm dealing to doing to the off season. And they're in a playoff spot. Would you just ride with him for the rest of the year in playoffs? If they're playing well, they're running, they're going out a good clip. I think you have to, you got to, you got to roll the dice. I agree with you. Some fans would be pissed because, you know, you trade a lot for a guy. I don't think one would be pissed. I don't think because they don't, what if they lose first round? Then it's just the ultimate like the perfect storm. But dude, if they're good this year, which I think they will be, and they're sitting in a top three spot in the central and there's a chance that people are mentioning them as cup contenders and you trade him. It's like the season's done. I can't do that. Now remember Columbus kept put air, but, but it, but it's also maybe not because maybe you're able to get like a good second line center back and, or, or a couple good pieces that provide you more depth up front. And like, I'm not trying to be down and out on the Minnesota wild. I was talking to Pasha afterward. I know he might not be the best guy to talk about this. In this situation, he might be the worst. They, they lost Teresanco. I think he had 20 goals last year. They lost Johansson. I believe he had close to 20. And there was one other forward they lost, and then Zook, who was pretty substantial towards their power play. Yeah. So they've lost a lot of firepower where he also said outside of Boulder and Caprice off, it's pretty thin on the wings. Like it's not like, and we're talking about a division in a conference that at the top is pretty strong. I think that there's a strong possibility that they're in a wild card situation when playoff time, playoff time comes around. Part of was part of you saying if you could have a mulligan, you'd probably change that pick where you getting crushed in the, in the messages with the wild fans of rabbit, were they almost went into an insane asylum, because of them. No, I personally don't give a fuck about that. The reason I would want to redo is because I only had three teams in the specifics. Well, currently I only have seven teams in the waxing and playoff. So that's why I want the redo. And, and I would just because I'm such a mush, I would actually want to make a draft King's bet where and call it the Louisiana purchase bet where actually Colorado Dallas and mini lock up the top three spots in the central. I don't even know how you can do that. It's like minus 400, I bet. I don't know if there's anyone in the world besides us who don't have them finishing top three in the central. Yeah. Okay. I think I had you tie in there as that second pick at plus 475 on draft things. Well, maybe we won't be able to get that with draft Kings, but before we go
going further murals, you're going to be doing this new chasing goals thing all season long, like storm chasers, but goal chasing. Yeah. So me and Elie are last year, we kind of dabbled into it. We did, I think three or four of them where we got out there and we pick a city. We pick a game where we knew there's going to be some goals. It's almost like a mini ice con. And now this year, thanks to draft Kings, we're, we got a set schedule. We got nine different places we're going and we start off opening night in Boston. So tonight as this thing's error will be in Boston, we're going to be at the greatest bar before. So we'll be meeting the fans in the same thing. Like in a month, we're going down to New York City. There's a new bar right across from bar stool office called canuck true north hockey bar. So we'll meet there. And then we're going to go to the Rangers game that night. And you know, it's a little difficult when we had a plan that games this far in advance. It's like, it's going to be tough to hit these overs, but we'll be there. We'll be chasing the goals, me, Leo PJ and then everywhere we go, we're going to add a couple guys in like this trip tomorrow. R a and G are going to join us. If we're in New York, guy like Rico Bosco will join us. And this wherever we are, we're going to add different pieces. Maybe Vegas, we bring bloody out. So I don't, I don't, so you got nine games nine games. I don't, I want the opposite to happen, but I'm going to need draft Kings to drop a bet where I can bet you don't hit one of them. I would say to it, two and seven, the best case scenario is best case scenario. Although, Lios had a lot of, a lot of success. I think traveling for the goals. Yeah, we did good last year. Yeah. Okay. And then we crushed ice con ice con was done in the middle of the second period. Everybody took off into the bar. It was great. Okay. Oh, that was so fun when we did it at Molot Arena. We remember the empty ladder that was missed. Oh, I remember that he wasn't going to pull the goal. They did. Now Yance, considering you were on my side about Minnesota missing playoffs, but the stipulation was if Quinn Hughes did get traded. Yep. Do you think that us kind of revving things up in the central had any influence on that preseason game the other night? No, no, I don't know. Actually, all the games have kind of been chippy. I don't know. It's awesome. It's unbelievable. I don't know if it's because, you know, you're only guaranteed to the guys are trying to show what they can, you know, the bubble guys are trying to show what they can do. I don't know if we had too much to do with that game being the gong show that happened at the end, but maybe a little bit. I thought it was unreal. Like to, when was the last time you saw preseason games like that? There was a couple floor to Tampa. I remember. There's been a bunch so far. I mean, this year's been the same. The Florida Tampa ones the last few years had been pretty, pretty good. Like when they'd put like Scotty, Sabrin. Sabrin. Yeah. And then all, yeah, you know, all hell, hell is going to break loose. I, I do wonder. Oh, also, I should quickly mention we have just, we have announced Chicklets Cop October 8th to 10th in Boston at the Harpoon Brewery. So there's a big party on, on Thursday night. That's the welcome party. Then another party Friday night. So the welcome party for the players Thursday, public party Friday night. If you're in Boston or traveling, please check it out. It was a blast last year. So we're going to get to see that action again with the, uh, what, what was your team again, Keith? The, the stranglers, the stranglers with the bag pipes versus, um, I mean, big deal. The biggest, big deal select mushes of all time. There's no chance. They went, what's more likely? Mergo's nine for nine and picking overs on the chasing goals. Or you win. I'm going to go nine for nine. That's how bad you guys are. But Chicklets Cup is back. I can't wait for that. Are we going to come? Are we playing Yandes team in the round robin? I don't know. I would imagine Joel has been released. Yeah, you guys, Terry Ryan coming down this year. Terry Ryan is playing. He, he had a big commercial shoot last year with McDavid that he had to miss, um, which a man, you know, he, he's a big deal now with Shorzy and everything popping off. Like he's, he's reached a different stratosphere, but I'll promise you this. It hasn't gone to his head. He's been training his cock off. We got a few extra guys in the mix that we, we brought to our team. Oldie will be our backup goalie. So we get the positive juju and his, his fumpa or whatever the fuck you call that thing around his dick, mudflap, the mud flaps. Um, and I honestly think I've talked to Terry. It seems like this will be the last run at it. And if it doesn't go well, then I don't know if there's, I don't, you keep, you guys keep saying like, Oh, like we've heard that before. It's like, no, you didn't. The only time you heard the fact that we wouldn't be back was if we lost to the ball, the Boston stranglers and we didn't. We, we went past farther them. So we've never made the promise of we don't win it. See you later, but this year you're doing that. I'm a, let me talk to Terry. Maybe, maybe, let's, let's, maybe we get Terry on on Thursday to see what our team has, has come in for Chico's cup. But ultimately, I love doing it in Buffalo. It's, it's, it's hard to top Boston in that location and, and what we were able to do last year and traveling does make it a little bit easier. We've had some very special chicklets cups. Um, and I look forward to, to, to have a very, very special one this year again in Harpoon, Brewery. Luckily, it wasn't this weekend. Um, nor Easter just crushed it stuck inside all weekend and what is this? What? The nor Eastern. I keep hearing about this. Yeah. It's a big storm. Like not a hurricane, a little less. I mean, I think noticeably less than a hurricane. How are the winds? Uh, the wind. I think my house caught like a 40 mile hour gust, 50 maybe, maybe not, maybe on the ocean for sure, 50. Now the problem was we're in the household weekend. It's poor and can't really go outside. And finally Sunday night, I'm like, I'm going to bed. It's nine o'clock. My wife said she's going to bed. I never go to bed early. I'm like, we got a big show we're doing tomorrow. First week. By the way, it's our 10th NHL season as a podcast. So show to us 10 years. Here we go. Longer than I'm playing the NHL. Um, so, you know, you've, you've wound down off a long weekend. I got a cold right now. And thank God, I have the cold. You'll know why in a second. I'm grinding through this. You know, you're grinding in bad weather with little kids. And you're finally ready to go to bed. And I hear downstairs breeze letting Yoshi out. Oh, shit. Oh, fuck. I'm like, what the hell's going on? I go downstairs. Yoshi was sprayed by a skunk. Oh, my God. She let him in the house immediately. I think he went to ran by her into the house. I got a move. My house smells like a skunk. I'm talking from the far guest bedroom all the way across the estate to the garage. I'm done. I thank God. My nose isn't at full capacity right now, but even right now in my office, I got the windows open with pouring and I smell skunk. I don't know what to do about it besides grind through. You're going to start the year with a band. I'm going to start the year with a skunk. So we're 10 years in. And this goddamn smell is so bad. I don't know what I don't know what to do. There's 16 different candles lit across the house, but I'm grinding through this with you guys. You got to do some incense. I've, we've tried it all. This house gets flooded and it gets scunked. What is it? What did you do with Yoshi right away after he did you like? So apparently you're supposed to like not, well, he can't get wet, but the problem was it was pouring. So he was soaked. So I said, get him out of the house and he'd already gone into the kitchen around the island down to the living room. Then I tried. So that area is completely done. Now we got him in the garage. The garage is ruined. Then she's on the computer and she's like, I got to wash him now and she made this like, I don't know. Hydro whatever. She made this mixture and then she washed him with that. He smells great now. I heard pink. I heard pink Whitney can take away skunk smells. She might have she might have rubbed that on him. That's what true. That's a good point or on your cut. Yeah, that's a good idea. Maybe maybe I just pour pink Whitney all over the house. Forget the sticky because it won't stink like a skunk anymore. So that's a tough one to start the 10th season with. I think that's a bird shitting on you, Thomas Jefferson. The oil. I think that's a bird shitting. I think it's like, I think it's like, oh, she's also kind of, he's like orange, isn't he? He's got like, he's brown. He's brown. But yeah, it's just a tough start, but I'm grinding through it. I'm grinding through it and let me tell you somebody who isn't grinding through anything right now besides the pressure and the demanding nature of Rick bonus. But that's Adam Fantelli boys. They got him signed six year deal, 13.75 year. Happy for him, man. He gives up two years of UFA. I think he wanted five years. There would only been one year of UFA gives up the two. He's making absolute bank. I think over 30 million of it is in signing bonus. Pretty standard for a lot of these other deals where it's not what they've done. It's what they're going to do. My question to you, Bizz or Mara Keith, whoever is like, everyone kind of figured after Carlson that it'd be around here, right? So why does it happen? Yeah. This I don't get it. Now, maybe it's him not wanting to give that six year and the team wanting to get the number lower. But when the whole world of hockey fans know that it's going to be around this number, why does it end up happening where he maybe got one game in the preseason and now he's coming in late and like whoever starts good when they miss camp, even when it's shorter, I don't get this part of it. Do you agree with me? I had heard he was asking for darts contracts. So that's what 15 15. So obviously they he didn't get that. It's a million.
million point one off, but it's like at the end of the day, like you said, what you knew with this contract was going to be, why wait around and do it? If you had signed last year, he probably would have been a lot less, but this year with all the guys signing, he gets an extra couple million unreal. But yeah, I think it's one of those things where is it worth him missing the last couple of weeks to get that contract in? And I do appreciate the fact that he did the two extra years for Columbus. It gives them more time with him and more time to build their team to get them to where they want to be. But I think at the end of the day, this should have been handled a couple of months ago, or whenever. But it's done, he's ready to go and the season will start for them. Guys, I hate to interrupt here, but you guys opened the show talking about some comments made on TNT by Billy Garen. I figured it's a good idea to just bring him in now and you guys hash this all out. We got to hash this out before the season starts. Oh god, he's got better cabinets than I do for books. Yeah, he made it. He's a wood. He's a woodmaker. Billy G. It's great to see you. Look at all the cup. However, Billy G, like I'm a guy. We go way back. Massachusetts. I don't. I don't agree with these idiots. So thank you for joining my show. I appreciate it. I mean, honestly, when I always, I always thought it was your show. You're the driver. Thank you. You're the driver and all right, and all right, I mean, you got the hockey dad hat guy. You got the half-sweed. You know, you got the circus clown. I mean, my god, we need it. We need a we need a good Massachusetts guy. Don't forget the bus. That's what you want. Don't forget banana man. Yeah. We got banana man. Billy G. That's what we're doing with him making your comments in fairness before you got on. He actually wished that he could have a mulligan and change his mind and he didn't even know you were coming. So he has realized maybe that the weed and just the hatred towards the wild has gone towards the ketamine lace mushrooms that now I think Paul, I think you were, I think you were over served whatever you were smoking that day. I, you know, I did, there was one part of it that was missed out here. It was Paul from now on. Okay. Call me whatever you run my show daddy. Way to go. Paul. Okay, dad. I said if when Hughes doesn't finish the year there, that, that would be my, my prediction. That's what I said. Okay, I'll just, I'm going to sign off with that's the case and we'll just sign off. Billy, I, he's not get brought into this. I'm going to, I'm going to explain myself. He texted me before I left you. Can you hear he ends this accent? Yes. That's why. Okay. And he texted me before last show and he said, I'm going to have a crazy take about Minnesota. Can you please have my back? So being a good teammate, I had his back. So you know I'm riding behind my back, Billy. You know, I'm riding with you, Billy. That is, I mean, making deals backstage. It's like, there's the red, that's like, there's at the red line and warmups making deals. No deals. You know what? You know what? He goes up to the toughest guy and warmups and just makes a deal with him. Who's the second toughest guy? Maybe I'll fight him. I'm glad you brought the red line, Billy, and you know, I feel even worse about not picking you guys and make playoffs is you were in Pittsburgh at the time. I got put on waivers. I got claimed by Arizona and I loved Pittsburgh. I loved the organization. All the guys there. And I believe it was the third game in that season. I was with Arizona. You came up and you tapped me on the ship base and how are things going? And I, you know, I was obviously missing Pittsburgh. So that speaks volumes to the guy, the teammate you are and the person you are. So now I feel even shittier about smoking all that PCP and piss picking you guys with my ass. Yeah. I'm sorry. I mean, you, I know you're trying to butter me up now. It's working a bit. It's working a bit, but I was now if it was now you beat, I was hurt. I know you had a job to do all, um, but, you know, I was, I don't know, it was, I was hurt. And how about? How about a guy? Don't know much about hockey. No, I know. I'll give you that. That's where I was just, I'll give you that. But how about another guy on this podcast right now and on the screen who went even far beyond saying, oh, if Quinn Hughes gets moved, I don't think they missed, they make playoffs. But instead decided to call you guys frauds with, please, with the news in the lineup. He's amazing. I don't know. I don't know about him. Moral double down. He is. He's doubling down on that. But Billy's still mad at me because he caught me in Montreal walking around with my sneakers. How does it feel? Yeah. So he's still mad at me for that. So I don't need to bring a wild and I have the wild in the playoffs. I had the wild in the playoffs last year. My problem was they, I just knew they could not beat Colorado with, with the center depth they had. There's, and the front comment was supposed to be in a private conversation. That is true. It's entire wildlife. It's conversation or not. You just, that's a thank you, Billy G. That's even worse. Heavy, heavy work. Well, because everybody was picking you to win the cup. And I just, I couldn't believe you'd win the cup with that center depth and tell me this year's different because you're off. Well, how do you pronounce his name? You're off. You got. He's going to be, he's going to be the guy for you. Second line center. Yeah. He's a, he's a really good player. I mean, we believe in him a lot. You know, for his first year over, you know, I mean, like zero English when he first came over and just kind of figuring it out. He put together really good season. You know, he's one of those kids that a young kid, I mean, what, what do, what do you always have to fight over with young kids? How to play defensively, right? 200 foot game. It's kind of the opposite with this kid. We're like, he's got that. We trust him. We got to push him to play a little more offensively. So that, that right there just tells us that he's got a mature game. He knows what he's doing. He's not, he's not an issue. So we're, we're really comfortable with him. Yeah. I actually watched him play in the Russian juniors a bunch. He was on that Magnita Gorge junior team. They, they were always the top team and like, so he knows how to win. I'm expecting big things from him. And that's why I do have you in the playoffs. They are not a fraud this year. We will see how the season progresses. But I love the Flino brothers, Marcus, last game going crazy at the end, Tellin Dallas. We got you four times this year. So they're going to be bringing the mayhem again. So I got you guys in. So I love coming on and just have we got back. No, we got no, this is the song, this podcast in the league, wait, wait, I put my knee, wait, take the day off, you're, you got to be exhausted carrying these guys around. But I just like to come on and just listen to you guys backtrack your shit to my, wait, wait till backlog comes on someday, wait till backlog comes on today. I'll be asking if I could do is laundry form. How excited are you for, you know, I've seen some clips of Boulder at camp, you know, just he just looks like he's grown into his body even more like him. I don't want to say throwing around guys and, but he, he was like, he looks like an absolute beast out there right now. Yeah, he's, I mean, Bulls just keeps getting better and better, he, I mean, you guys know how it is. You kind of, you hit a certain age and like you're, then you start developing like kind of, like real man strength, like you're not a kid anymore, you know, I think he's like really into just kind of getting into that where he's an absolute beast down low, I mean, the size, skill combo on him is ridiculous in his talent level is through the, through the roof. But you know, he, when he comes, like I think Jared's virgin said it, like when he comes with a summer skates, like their cabins practices or whatever, you know, the level goes up. It goes up a couple notches because of him and he's just, he's really figuring out this leadership thing. And I think he's starting to see how good he really is and where his game can go and what he can do for us. And you know, you saw it on the, you saw it on the, the biggest stage in the world at the Olympics, how good he was and how much, you know, the coaching staff trusted him and wanted him out there. He's, he's becoming a lead player in the league. It's awesome to see. Billy. Last week, Elliott Friedman, he dropped the news that the cap is going to hit 127 million in two years. And as a GM and congrats on your extension, me and you way back, goal, Billy, gee, these three guys actually were disappointed in that signing by the wild, but how do you, how do you, like that's got to be kind of crazy for all you GM's out there because now it's like holy shit. Like our window and what we see in two years just completely flipped and in Minnesota specifically where he'll spend and it's got to be all now knowing how much more room you guys are going to have in the future, right? Yeah. I mean, it's, it's hard to believe that we're at these, you know, these levels, but it does, it means the league's healthy. So that's good. I mean, all this is tied to league revenue. So they're just not like picking numbers out of a hat. This is all, you know, a formula. So it'll be interesting to see how many teams are actually spending to the cap.
I mean, it is, you know, it is a business, too. And, you know, you have to make the money, to spend the money and you have to, you know, teams don't like losing money. So we'll see how many actually spend to the cap, but man, there's a lot more money in the system. And, you know, I do believe it's a good thing because it just shows that the league is healthy. And our star players or star players just like in any other league. And, you know, we don't bat an eyelash when we hear it. Like I said, a couple weeks ago, nobody bats an eyelash of, you know, a basketball player making 60 million a year. Or, you know, a quarterback making 50 a year. And, you know, I think, look at our guys, our stars, and our league are as good athlete or better than any of those guys. So, you know, it's a good thing because it's good forever. I think it's just good for everybody. - One of the reasons Whit said I needed a brain transplant after my prediction. - Next, last week. - Was because of this top four you got on the back end. I mean, you know, obviously Faber and Quinn Hughes. I mean, those guys are top elite and then Brodeen. And who's the other, Spurgeon. Like that's a pretty lethal top four. Would you say that's kind of the engine that drives the bus? - Good thing you can count to four, Biz. Thanks for Paul. - Can he spell bus, though, is the question? - Yeah, that's, that's, yeah, I mean, that is definitely a strength of our team. You know, and I think, you know, you go so far. So, look at all six, Mata and Bogosian and the bottom pair who are both, you know, veteran guys, Stanley Cup winners. They kind of round out the D core, which is good because they're extremely trustworthy guys. But yeah, the top four guys are, you know, are a huge part of the team and, you know, what we do in the ice. So, it's nice to have. - Billy, we were talking about it a little bit earlier with Liam and the say that the players have nowadays, whether it's asking for a trade, you know, things like that. And you being obviously a guys guy, a player that, you know, got everything that you deserve. But now you're in the management side where you know, you've got to be the one showing out the money. So, how do you feel about like, you know, where it's at with the players and, you know, kind of putting their own future in their own hands? - Well, to be quite honest with you, it's, it's been going, this has been going on forever. I mean, guys have been asking for trades forever. It's just, you know, when dockies like, when dockies like Paul get a hold of this information, they just run with it and make it a goddamn soap opera. - Yeah. - What do you say about the podcast industry? - The podcast industry has been going on forever. - Not like this, Billy, not like the social media stuff. - The guys have been blowing it up. - The thing is, like, so, so, when I put you, you had to be 31 years old or 10 years in the league before you were a UFA, where you could really make, you know, your big money for the most part in the league. Now, even the middle of the road guys are making big money enough to say, like, well, you know, I, they can take a chance or they can take a shorter deal. They can, they don't have to jump on a long term deal. They, they, they feel empowered, you know, that way. As for guys asking for trades, look, that, like I said, that's been going on forever. I mean, I did it way back in, you know, the late 90s. And it's just, it's just the way it was. So many guys have asked for trades over the years. This is not a new thing. And, you know, I was, my own personal situation was good 'cause Lou took, he took good care of me. I asked him for a trade a week later. I was out and he just handled the problem. That was, that was it. It was good. How nervous were you going into Lou Lemurlo's office? Asked for a trade. I remember, honestly, we were on the road and Buffalo. And he kind of, I think he kind of knew 'cause he broke, he kind of broke the ice. He said, look, come down to my room. We got to meet, so we're, we're sitting in his room. And he's like, what do you want to do here? And I said, look, I just, I just think I'm, I just think I'm done here. And I've been here for seven years or whatever it was. And I think I've just kind of clocked out. I don't know if Jock and I were seeing I'd, I or, I just kind of hit a wall there. And I said, I think the best thing for me is to go somewhere else right now. And he's like, you really feel like that? I said, yeah, yeah, I do. And he's like, okay, let me, let me see what I can do. Week later, gone. So, I, I didn't know what the conversation was. It was gonna be, but he made it, he made it as easy as it possibly could be. Do you think, do you think most GMs or more GMs should take that approach of trying to make it easier rather than it's more of like a, like, on the boss type of thing? It's personal preference. I think it's different with every situation. I don't think you can tell any other GM how to do his job first of all. And then I think there's, there's, you know, different levels of all these situations, you know, is it? You know, and I hate to say it, but like there are different levels of players, different levels of, you know, contracts, things like that. There's so much more that goes into it now too. That was, that was a non-cap era where you could just, you know, you're just trading horse trading left and right. It didn't, it didn't matter. So, I think every individual case is different. And, you know, I think there's, there's a time for everything. I think there's a time for, you know, being, being stern. And there's a time for getting things done because, oh, you know, I mean, I had a hold out with Luke too. I thought I was worth so much. And he was like, nope, and that's he, he, he, he drew the line in the sand. And it stayed there until late November. And I had to sign if I wanted to play hockey and, and I ended up signing, but so they were, you're bad when you came back. Both times I held, I held out twice. Oh, so I had to try fact that I had a little, a little, I had a little, I tried, a little, then I tried slats and then I tried Michael Connell and Boston. I had a lot of registration with him. But yeah, full times I held out in an November, all times I had shitty years. I do not recommend it for anybody. You know, but if that's what you believe in, that's what you believe in, I just, yeah, I was a little stubborn. Skating with the Springfield picks didn't prepare you for the NHL. Did you at least get, did you at least get what you wanted in arbitration? So I skated with the picks a couple times. And then I went out to the NTDP and after seven years in, in the NHL, I found out that I could hardly skate backwards anymore. I'm like, oh, they would do it all these skill drills and, you know, you know, turn backwards and quit crossovers both ways. I'm like, holy shit, I could barely do this. And then I went out to the NTDP and Jeff Jackson was a great coach. He had these really complicated, long drills. And I'm like, I, Heinsy was there. Heinsy was there as a grad assistant. And I'm like, Heinsy, can we just do like simple two-on-ones? Like I cannot follow these drills. It was like a three-part drill. I'm like, this is ridiculous. Like it's November. They're like, is that Bill Garen at Open Skate? He's got the fucking chair out there. wheeling around. Hey, did you know the feeling this? Yeah, oh, yeah, buddy. Fucking played. That was my twig when I played. Did you at least get what you wanted in arbitration? In arbitration, I did. Yeah. Fuck, thank God. So you went one for three. Yeah. You don't have a mahogany desk like that, not getting what you wanted business. Billy, I want to go back to those trade requests. And how does this is a stained pine? How does that work? Better than the banana business. In the Wendell Clark trash barrel. I may never get this question out, Billy, but I need to know how do these trade requests go down? Like when the, like what does Lou send out a mass email? And you say like this guy's available or like a Google doc, how does it all work? We communicate. I mean, usually it's phone calls, but we're all in communication with each other. And if something, you know, if something comes up, we, you know, again, it depends on the level. You try to keep things as tight as possible. You really don't want them getting out. You know, that's not always the easiest thing in today's day and age. But yeah, that's, it's, it's real basic. I mean, it's not, you know, we're not splitting the atom here. Like it's, you ask, you ask, I do my due diligence. And it's either going to work or it's not. So you say you had a defenseman, you would, you would look at the teams and be like, oh, I know they wanted defenseman, maybe or they need one or you just call everybody. Yeah, you call, you may, mainly you call.
And like there's certain kind of checkpoints like like in the year and like like right before camp or during camp whatever guys will call the check in at the start of the season maybe around, you know, before the GM meetings like guys are consistently checking in, you know, with each other through the league and I mean, I prefer phone calls. I don't, I don't like dealing with with tax. I like to, you know, hear, hear the voices and and deal with it that way or in person if if we're we're around, but that's just that's just me, I think everybody's got their own style, you know, do you ever throw out any like fake rumors to guys that are working for you to see if the insiders get a hold of it, no, I've never had to we've we don't have leaks. Yeah, love that. No, yeah, all right, what about another topic we've brought up the no move causes, I think baseman, I mentioned like 70% of the league has them are 50 whatever it is. This pro trainers have them now. Guys is GM's have to be a little like I we got to figure this out here. It's getting out of control. No, it's just like the money. I mean, it's, it's negotiated and how hard do you want to, you know, how hard you want to take a big stand on, you know, a no move. Is it a full no move? Is it no trade? Is it no like a partial 15 teams, 10 teams, five teams? You know, what is it? And you you negotiate that you can you trade it like you trade it for. You know, if you want a full no trade, well, then the dollar amounts going way down. Okay. And you have to you have to be willing to walk away. Like if if that's not what you want, you know, it's just like the money. You have to be willing to lose a player over. Yeah. And then if one guy gives it, it's like, all you need is one. So it's like, yeah, it is probably an issue that maybe the next CBA, which I think is four years, but at some point I would think we'd see something about that. I guess also for me, I got to ask and you've answered a million times. You're going to have to the Quinn Hughes situation right now is so predictable. What do you mean? I'm asking a question as a fucking journalist, and he calls me witty, so we might just stir in the pot. I was stir in the pot. I'm going to see all fucking Paul. This is, this is why he's the captain of this podcast. It's two men talking Paul. It's two men talking, but, but moving forward, it's just former oilers. Keep checking out. Yeah, we're really thought of us the same when you ask other fans about our playing days there, but do you just keep kind of staying in contact and let us know. And that's kind of the only way to approach it, right? Yeah. I mean, like I said before, like Quinn and I have a great relationship. Pat and I have a great relationship. You just just work through it. Yeah. I think, you know, and this is the thing. Like, you know, I fans get anxious. Um, you know, media wants a story. All that stuff. I can't. I can't listen to that. I can't I agree. Get caught up in that. All you're going to be finished. Yeah, no. So I just was agreeing with you. Oh, okay. So you had to say it out loud. Sorry. I'll be in my mic. No, it's just, yeah, it's one of those things. You just keep working through it and and the thing is, too, is that we you know, the three of us, you know, myself, Quinn, Pat, we're really the only ones that you know, maybe his family or his parents or whatever, but we know what's going on. We know all the discussions. So you know, with the information, you get a little more comfort. You know, yeah, here we go. It's back on. Well, I was actually going to ask you about, uh, probably a secret weapon that not a lot of people know about, uh, that the Minnesota wild have. And this is a lady by the name of Stephanie Fowler. And she's a as she asks who sports masseuse and a lot of your players. She lives in Minnesota and a lot of your players are going there. Have you seen this lady go to work? No. She's she's doing all this like time massage on your players with her feet and helping with glutes. That's why he picked you to miss because he's he's a time masseuse connoisseur. He's jealous. No, he doesn't have this lady. No, once I saw this, I knew I fucked up. How do you where where are you getting this from? Well, first of all, you know who that is. That's Brock Faber weather. He's going to her. And she does incredible work. She's been doing it for the last 28 years. And it's this special like type of time massage that she does with her feet on the posterior chain. This is the first I've heard of that. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. I got to get on the payroll. When my when my hot take got posted, this is what she commented underneath. I work with a lot of the star players on of the team this year. I've been working with my NHL players for 16 years. And I've never seen them as dialed in focused and serious as I already have this season. That haters motivate you don't know her tone, Benz. You're giving her dirty tone. Well, she came to war for Billy G in the comments right here. And then I looked at who was and I'm like, oh, this lady's going to town on these guys posterior chain. That's the engine that's driving this team. Well, ever get some ready. Honestly. And they are. These guys are dialed. Man, they're serious. Like he just showed he just showed Faber his favorite ready to start the year. Yeah, we'll we'll address Fabes tomorrow. And he's got one more massage before the video here, but he's on the he's facing frontside up. Whoa, whoa. Like look at this. This is come on. It's crazy. You had no idea about this lady going to town on your players like this. No, no, but like I said, whatever gets ready. And these boys are always ready, Billy. We appreciate it, dude. It's good. I was going to ask one final one. Okay, Paul ask him if it's okay. How? I don't know. That's my. That's my Paul listening to Trombone. How hard was it saying by the Middleton? How do you have it? You made invite a Middleton. The TikTok shop. I spend more useless money on TikTok. Oh, it's terrible. What was your question, Paul? I said, how hard was it saying by the Middleton? Very. Very. Midzies. One of the all time best all time. I mean, A plus human being like I just love him. And it was that was a that was a shitty phone call to make. But you know what? That's that's the job that's the business. And he was great. He understood. I had to do what I had to do. And you know, it's just the yeah, it that's kind of the the shitty part of the business sometimes, but you know, I know he's going to a place that really wanted him and played on enough teams to know that like, he'll be okay. So it's that's the business. But yeah, Midzies. One of the all time best guys have ever been around like. And Coleman's going to get 27 goals this year. So and Coleman and Mata bonafide winners. Awesome humans. Like they're just good guys or dry like. I mean, oh, he's been like an old soul since he was like, since we draft him in Pittsburgh. Like he got it. Like he was a pro at 19 like in the way you roam all the time. Like we're like wishing all of our young guys could have been like him. And half our vets. And then and then Coleman's just like, he's just an animal. Like it's just energy and competitiveness. And yeah. And you know what the last two years that he's 20 and 30 goals. So it's not like he's just a bus. He's got skill and he can play it. Like he can he can score. So we're really happy about the, I think the trade worked out really well for both teams. Connie and I were both really happy. Well, Bill, thank you so much. Thank you so much. I'll get back to just dealing with these mutants. Take care of the back. Wait, please. You know me skunk house flood house doesn't matter. You got hockey dad half sweet and I gotta ask if we come to Minnesota for the world juniors. Are we invited back for a Kobe steak dinner or is that out the window now? No, you guys are always welcome. You know that class act. Thanks, Billy. I'll decide that though, Bill. It's your house, but I decide that. Okay. Yeah. Oh, of course. Thank you. Of course. Okay. All right. Good luck. On the bar, Stephanie. Good luck, Bill. See you guys. See you later, Billy.

I know you kind of all just withered and just gave into him now I've been known to do that myself. There's no chirping for me on that. I'll I'll I will give in to anyone I'm sure who then comes on the show and calls me out to no problem there boys But I think we all have the Minnesota wild finishing the top three in the central They're one of their cup favorite. Yeah Playing the parade. They're actually seventh to win the cup on draftings right now I was surprised they're ahead of Dallas. Yeah, but that's before the bet makers know about the massage lady Yeah, could be changing right now. Yeah, the massage it you don't think I'm traveling a Minnesota I might just establish residency there. Hey everyone from Phoenix to Atlanta is a layover in mini You just get some work done he has your coming to the airport. Oh, I could see you doing that. Oh, I'm I'm 1,000% trying to get TNT to send me for like a feature on Stephanie Yeah, just about the Minnesota wild and in the engine that makes that team run Oh, yeah, fishy lives there. Oh, we should send him to go get one See how he never hear from him again. He's in the Olympics. He's doing like We're on center We should send fishy to staff Yeah, when when Billy G screen came out and he would just sit in there with all that wood behind him I felt like I was like in the principal's office. Yeah, you were. Oh, yeah, you got a you got expelled He wouldn't mock me too Yeah, I got my yeah, I would like this. I don't know doors on mine. No, here's his like these. It doesn't smell like a skunk Now before Billy came on, we were discussing the fantilly contract In different news with two young stars in the league. We went oversell of I mean a badard, right? R8 R a broke the news captain of Chicago black Hawks and then jumbo Joe Thornton comes in the room and and gives gives all the sharks the Celebrini C the youngest captain ever for the San Jose sharks complete no brainer I mean, I know him a little bit getting to just hang out with him on the golf course this year one of those old souls God knows what he's gonna do this year. I mean, I I think 130 points is realistic. It sounds crazy saying that But if he keeps doing what he's doing he keeps getting this much better each year I wouldn't be shocked at all the team looks loaded. I don't know if any of you guys have seen I know Merza big up preseason guys. Stenberg is a problem We have this guy. I want to couple their preseason. They're very good And and I didn't I think everyone figured he'd be in the NHL this year. I've our Stenberg Stenberg can't even name I'll get that name correct soon. I know you that for sure But this team's loaded and biz him being the captain right now makes total sense to me Yeah, I mean, I think from like any hockey fan. I mean, especially as a Canadian like like to know what this kid's capable of and and like where his career is gonna go It's just I'm just so excited. I I wish the league had like five or six more of them And you know, I don't think that we've been I don't think we've been this hyped up on a player since Crosby Like I mean you get you get throw all over in there and obviously make David sorry, but Yeah, this is he's a special kid. I'm glad they waited that one extra year Just allow him enjoy the Olympic year and not have anything added on his plate not that it would have mattered But I think that last year just prove that he's ready It comes natural to it's not something that's gonna be it slapped on his jersey and all the sudden He's got to act or change or be different. He just a natural born leader he just so easy to like and root for and Plenty of good things to come for that San Jose shark team and I'm very very excited to see what they got coming It's almost a little bit of like the changing of the guard Sid kind of you know on the back nine Who knows when he's gonna retire Ovi same and it just seems like Celebrini's coming in at that perfect age Obviously McDavid's been carrying his weight the last 12 years or whatever But Celebrini just seems like he's in that perfect position to kind of take over as almost the sit of the league a guy that leads by example Place hard every day like he's that guy that I bet every single hockey parent is telling their kid to watch McLean Celebrini doesn't cheat the game plays hard every shift. So yeah, he's an unbelievable kid Got to meet him this summer was so impressed with him just like everything that he brings just an impressive impressive human And I think they got to lock up Will Smith, man. I think he's gonna have a monster year And go back to what you said we're gonna be correcting me about like oh McDavid I don't know did like I would I would say that what McLean did in his second year was Was was or was it last year is third year? No, it was second. It was his second year I think I think that was his second year. Is that when he hit it? But I would argue that that was probably more impressive what he did last year And maybe the point total wasn't there but like he was basically the best player at the Olympics for them Yeah, it is it is he so he McDavid had 30 and 70 for a hundred points in 82 games this second year He had five goals four assists in 13 playoffs games. They got to the second round that year Little different there, but a better team But yeah, it seems as though and there's definitely hockey historians had fans who had no otherwise or could prove me wrong But it's almost like every 10 to 12 years you get one of these Yeah, and and it was you know it was crossbe an ovechkin for the same time And then it was mcdavid 10 years later and now it's celebrity and 10 years from now it'll probably be another kid where you're getting Yeah, RJ celebrity But you're getting insane talent every year, but the true generational ones It seems to be around 10 to 12 years. So he is that guy Do you think a lot of it has to do with I mean everybody had sannos a being a horrible team And then he comes in and it's basically changed the entire organization around now that they're like if they don't make playoffs this year They're disappointed. I agree I thought last I thought when we said this you said they have a one-year window like no What I said when I said was it's not the end of the world at all if I'm a fan of the sharks if they don't get in this year I think the team would be upset. I think it seems thinking when they're seeing what they have in there Misa looks incredible in the preseason. Preseason hockey is different, but whatever and and Stenberg now would you guys right now if you could take a team first team to win the Stanley Cup are you taking Montreal her sannos a Because I think sannos a talent and their I don't they don't have watch out doesn't have a celebrity That that is on another level over Montreal for me But the contracts Montreal has with celebrity being 18 and then god knows they're in a better situation money wise So it's an interesting argument for what I think the whole leak and fan bases around would agree or the Young teams with the brightest futures as of right now Yeah, and I think sannos it like do you think truba and nurse what it went to sannos a if if Celebrini wasn't there no Yeah, so I think I think more guys are gonna want to go to sannos a actually he is like opening up that like how it used to be with the with Thornton and Marlowe and Pawolsky those guys are more guys are gonna want to play there I think Montreal is done an unbelievable job drafting and developing and having their homegrown talent But I think they're gonna get more UFA's if there even are any in the next few years That's exactly why it's like crossby because crossby did the same thing Pittsburgh
was a joke. Nobody wanted to go near there. And then he comes and has everybody wants to be around him in their career. Yeah. Yeah. G saying San Jose mantra has to go through Florida, but like Florida's got maybe what's their window or they forget about Anaheim as a young team. Anaheim was there. Yeah, they they followed a little bit. They might have gone up now. They're saying so that's not a word that report. And we we just talked to Billy G quickly about it. But Elliot dropping that news of it going up in two years to 127 million. Nobody was happier than Anaheim seeing that. I don't know. Yeah. Although God, a lot of these teams with cap issues were fucking thrilled. You know, you know, who's set up nice now, Vegas. I think I fucking, I go in. None of these guys are making over 13 and a half true. They got fucked. They're laughing. Yeah, that's what I mean, dude. There's some there's some undercover teams here that have some guys locked in for those eight year terms that are a joke. See in the 127.5 million though, which means it'll go up 14 from next season 2728 to 2829. It is going to be a lot like when there was no cap, though. Like Billy said it, how many teams are going to spend to it? Like I think you're you're you're going back in time a little bit to all of a sudden, there's 16 spending 127 and a half. And then there's 12 teams that are at the floor. Like it is kind of weird how this has happened. I mean, what will the floor be? The floor. I don't know. I don't know. Gee, maybe at 127, you got to imagine 90s. Yeah, maybe even 190 boys. I got a new mission now because of this salary cap. It's gone up. I guess there's all this money. I've already got the health insurance for most of the players. We got to finish that. That's obviously going to get taken care of. But my next one, if we have all this money in the world, we got to start dropping some into the former players pension funds. Another little pension sheet you get each year. Why don't we start dabbling that in some of the older players that got us to this point instead of raising that cap and raising the sales ticket. So what do we think about that one? I think we need to stuff you in a room and lock the door. You and Gary. And Marty. Marty. Bill Daley. Gary Beppman. Cage match. Murs with Marty. Gary's with Bill and two men walk out. And we'll see what happens with the pension funds. Could could could Mur end up getting like 1.6 million when he turns 62. Could you walk out of that room? It could be more. You never know. Another big actually funny enough. So people are wondering when are the Bruins going to name a captain? It's pasta, not pasta, right? Well, maybe McAvoy. Okay. It's David Pasha knock. Now what's funny about this? I saw a tweet. This is by smitten lover. I don't know. It's the holy trinity of captain C leaks. So it's Conor Bedard doing an interview. What looks like on local news somewhere. And underneath it is name. It says Chicago Blackhawks captain. He hadn't been named captain yet. It's the NHL shop with a celebrity jersey with a C on it. And it's a tweet from Tottenham Hotspur of the English Premier League because one of their players has been rehabbing in Boston and took a picture with Boston Bruins captain David Pasha knock. So I think they were all announced prior to actually being announced by the team. But you can hop on here. He's your captain. I also have a beef with you. Oh, David Pasha knock. Your new leader. What do you think? Yeah, I've said this to you guys for months now. I always thought it was going to be pasta. And my biggest worry. I think you guys know for the past few years has been like I just don't want to wake up one morning to see an Elliott Freeman tweet. So David Pasha knock has requested a trade. So I think doing this kind of you know, keeps him here for at least the rest of his contract. I don't think he's going to request a trade anytime soon. But yeah, I love. Oh, yeah, no captains do that. Yeah. I love this though. I think it makes sense. People saying like Mac avoids now going to be pissed. They just I don't think those people have ever been inside a locker room. I think this makes tons of sense. But what's your beef with me? What's the deal? It's not really a beef. Maybe I don't think fans listening to this will agree with me at all. But I remember a long time ago, I must have been 12 years old. I was watching a Bruins game with my dad. And I said, that guy stinks. And he looked at me. And he said that guy's an NHL. Yeah, I know you have no, you have no clue what you're talking about. And I see you tweet this morning with Fabian Lysel going on waivers with the Colorado avalanche, I believe. And your tweet said, I've been saying it for years. This guy stinks. And I and I get and this is why I think most people listening are like, which shut up. You idiot skunk filled loser. I think it's so crazy. Haven't been in the NHL and seeing people like this guy sucks. This guy sucks. He stinks like. Yeah. I agree. No, I agree. Like that. I tweeted that. And I'm doing the Billy Garrett backtrack. Like you guys just did. But I tweeted that and was like, I can't delete this now. But I was on drugs. Oh, I was on ton. I was so hot. But that's what I'm saying. Yeah, it's one of those. But it's it's been a bigger conversation amongst Bruins fans for years. They're like, call him and murky off up. Call him and murky off up. It's like me and Dan Powers have been texting about this going back and forth about this kid for years. And I'm always just like, he stinks. He's not good. It wasn't a draft pick. Is he a much better hockey player than me? Yeah, I know. That's why I sound. That's why people are probably saying I sound like an idiot. And people will always other skies stinks. Well, relatively speaking, I guess you could say he's not great in the NHL. But when people, he's got socks. It's like, maybe I'm taking this personally because everyone said, I stink. Now, gee, back to the back to the thing you just brought up about maybe Bruins fans just being upset overall at the drafts and all that. This is from GNP Bruins. Former NHL Bruins on waivers this year, John Beecher, Fabian Lysel, Mark McLaughlin, Riley, Tooth Day, Erho Vaca 9. And this includes three first round picks. The Bruins had only three first round picks from 2017 to 2023. Four years, they had zero picks. And all three players are waived this year out. So I guess that would be the issue. The niches, the niches, niches, not even in the NHL. No, I guess it's trading them. But that's why I think that's why Bruins fans are so like addicted to trade rumors. Just because like the draft is just not a thing for us. Like these these guys are not coming up with we just don't draft into. Oh, it's crazy. So that's why like Elliott says these might be trading for Mercenko and the whole fucking internet, the whole Bruins Twitter is going crazy. And I do have a little scoop on that. I received a text and I was told I can't say anything but whatever I'm going to say it now. I received a text this summer and it was like you want to see a stud come to the Easty rank and watch Karel Marchenko. He's been skating with the few of the Bruins in Eastie for the summer top secret can't tell anyone. And I'm like, whoa, what the why is he doing that? I didn't get a response after that. But Marchenko supposedly was skating and boss them this summer. So that Elliott trade rumors. So then that's your link to them. I was on the group chat. It seemed like it was like sign sealed and delivered. Well, no, if Elliott says it, Elliott says that they made an offer. And then it's like, all right, well, there's a little bit more to this story because I was texting Elliott about it as well. And I'm like, Hey, I think he was skating in Austin summer. Like there, there's a little bit more to the story now. And you see pasta falls among Instagrams, the door off falls. I mean, these are just like, these are reaches though. These are reaches a one percentage. That's my point. That's my point. That's my point. Did you, did you hear what, which is said who our draft picks are? All I have is to reach all I can do is reach for these trade rumors because Erho Valkyrie and it's not coming in to save the day. Well, he had Eiko coming at one point. So like, the guy's insane. Well, he went to university in the range. Right. And a lot of posted our wedding pictures the other day. And the top comment was, love the pictures. But I still can't get over G Singh dry side. It was getting traded to the Bruins last year. So it's like, I do this often. I remember one summer. I was in LA for a week. And I skated at their facility and Twitter was ripping that I was going to the king. So I get what you're saying. No, I get way actually. No, absolutely not. This guy's no Twitter. It wasn't even Twitter that that's when I bought new shoes to work out said was going out there to train. So I went out and I bought new shoes. And then the shoes hurt my feet so bad after a track where I got work out was said that I couldn't even do the workouts the rest of the week. They were Roger Federer like tennis shoes. I was like, these are, I don't think these were made for sprinting with Sydney. And I wasn't playing any tennis either. Um, yeah, tough one right there. But um, so Marchenko to Boston. G has a scoop. We talked about that. I will say they got them. They got to move that guy. They got they got they got fantilly. We said this last week. The guy has no desire to be there. And bonus is on the warpath. If you're a columnist, are you trading him sooner rather than they are? I read an article on the athletic where it said that don't what else in no rush, but I'm like, I get that. You don't want to get fleeced. But like, you got to get this guy out of the room. And maybe, maybe we, we watch to the first five games. He has five goals. And he's doing his thing. And it's like, well, I'm an idiot. I should don't what else correct. Uh, but if he's like miserable every day and is blatantly being like super Russian, imagine he's being if he goes full Russian.
the old room. Can't go to the order and go to the rank. If you go full Russian and you don't want to be there, it can bring the whole team down. Get the cap on Adidas track suits every day. Never, never washed. Did you guys catch any of Mark Messier's? Get a call with the league preseason media kind of call where he gets asked questions and I don't think he was a big fan of Babcock getting hired in Edmonton boys. Some of the quotes were I'm absolutely shocked from the stories that I heard from very good reputable, reputable excuse me, character people about the way they were treated. It's been no secret. The moose went off. The moose went off the rails and he actually also discussed the thing we match with Billy about the players having all this control. Now in fairness, then the internet dug up an old story in which Mark Messier might have been the one that got my keen and hired by the Vancouver connox. Don't know if that's true. That's just the internet doing its thing. Bez, did you agree or were you a little confused how the moose went so off the rails? All you think I'm going to fucking disagree with Mark Messier. I just had Billy Garen and stuff me in a fucking wood locker, a mahogany locker room coffin. Yeah, exactly. Yeah, like I was, I guess, because I would have assumed at this point all the Babcock discourse would be kind of done and over with like in paths, so it kind of reignited all of it. But like, yeah, like I get where he's coming from, but I also feel like he was in a different situation where they had an unreal coach that they loved when he was in Edmonton. They were able to win those cups early enough in their in those guys' primes, where they didn't have to have any type of desperate moves to maybe bring in a guy, for instance, like a might keen, where where he ended up having him, Mike keen and he ended up having him in New York, yeah, who had a little bit of an unorthodox a K a cycle path, fucking with the guys a little bit mentality, but what was different about at that point was, mess was never getting the brunt of that. Mess was probably fucking dog walk and I'm in playing the, he was the puppet master at that five rings at that. Yeah, five fucking rings. So I just think that like it's a little bit of a different situation for this core group in Edmonton, where maybe they felt where this is a situation that they could control that they probably know that Babcock is not going to be coming in and well, one, he'd already had experience with Hyman, Hyman loved them. Hyman seems like he's also the easiest guy in the world to coach. Yeah, he might never, he might not have one coach in his life who he doesn't like. No, right. He's like Rob skin airy like every coach just love them. Bingo. So essentially, it's kind of like we need to bring this guy in despite his past to, to crack the whip on the, on the other guys on the team because like, yeah, the regular season's a bit of a free ride because they can ride the the work off of these, these high in core group of guys where when push comes the shove, if those guys aren't dialed in and all these little nuances of the game, we're not going to get past Florida. We're not going to get past the, you know, the, the top end team. So I get why that core group in Edmonton did what they did, they did. If Mark Messier wants to scrutinize those guys for not protecting the other players in the team, that's fair. But also maybe fucking Bab somehow some way has learned from his experience and won't bring what he's brought to other teams and those types of guys in the past. I don't know. I've always been the, the second chance guy. Yeah, there's a lot of people listening who might be like, well, this is a third, fourth, fifth chance, whatever you want to call it because you could talk to, to, to players from Detroit. You could talk to, I mean, I mentioned Dan Winnick when we had the conversation like early early in, in like getting rebooted for this season on how his experience in Toronto was miserable. So there's plenty of guys who, who don't like Mike Babcock, the Medano situation. And it's not always just the quote unquote peasants getting treated like shit and getting the whip cracked. It is guys like Mike, Medano. So I would say this, I would say, who? Yeah, he was and he was a 30 goal guy net front, the mule taking all that punishment. I would just, I understand. And there's, Babcock has a right to feel the wrath of a guy like Mark Messius comments based on what he's done to former players. And I agree with what Mess is saying. But I also would just hope that that this is behind him and Babs is a good enough coach where he doesn't need all that extra, extra, extra curricular bullshit and bring that to the table to get this team to win. I almost respect the fact that the Euler's players would go out on the limb and want a guy that is going to push them and put it just show. If I'm a fan of that team, it shows me that how much they want to win, right? They don't care if they're going to get yelled at or, you know, it's not going to always. I got some breaking news here. Babs got fired. This is big. It's not, not a fair with Stephanie. Bayes Sola. Bayes, grab your cock here. There was word this afternoon at the Columbus Blue Jackets in the Toronto Maple Lutheran deep in discussions on a trade involving Peril Marchenko. Yeah. Nice. Nice. Who would you rather, Marchenko or not? There's no way they trade knives for him. I think that's what Columbus wants. That's what they want. Unless, listen, unless Toronto, if Toronto trades knives, I don't, I said it before with the month. What are they? Why? Yeah, I don't get it. The guy's signed for like seven million, isn't he? Or eight million? What is this? Nice trade. Nice thing. I don't get this. I don't. Well, you got it to get a good player. You got to give something. 100%. But like, he's the type of player they've been needing for years that will play top in the big games. Like good guy. Team guy. Crazy. I mean, we don't know if that's what it is. No, but this way, if it's not him and they grab him, this is going to be just, no, I'm not begging. Are you on the leaves or not, Biz? I got to get a campy. I'm not. You have him winning the cup one week. You got him in the playoffs the next week. I thought you were done wrong with that. I'm giving you by honest opinion. I thought you were done with them. Podcast host. Wow. Look at that. If you call Ellie, get him on here. Wow. Ellie, it leaves you with a more if, if, if they're able to finagle him without giving up knives, one, they're a cup contender. Right? No. Can we, what do you know? No, it kind of all depends on how, how I look at defenses. I look at six to seven man units on the back end. But either D is not that bad. They have all of our equipment, Larsson. Great top four defenseman on any team in the league. No. 10F's going to be back. 10F knock on wood. Can't stay healthy. Morgan Riley on a cup team is in a top four anymore. He's looked good in preseason. He's looked good, but he only makes seven million. He's not like some big anchor money wise either. Radish. Radish with an absolute. He's getting booed by a December there. Yep. Who's the one who came over from Chicago there? Fuck, drawn a blank. Well, Bez. Chica did his media with reporters today and he said, least internal data reveals that Austin Matthews is skating faster than he has over the power. Yeah. He looks incredible. He looks at poppies back. Pablo, call whatever the fuck you want. He's the couple of me and Don Waddell. I am on, I'm on a wavelength with GM's in this league right now. That is just unmatched by any other podcast. So it's because me and Billy G are doing woodworking shops together and me and Don Waddell who need to get this Russian out of this locker room right now. And if he brings in a big old strong American like Matthew Knies has a nice little return for a guy who had no desire to be there whatsoever in the Russian bear. But it goes back to the conversation. If it is for knives, I don't understand. It's essentially a one for one. You still have to work out. Marchenko's contract. I'm assuming he's signing $10.11 million. Yeah. Listen, these guys are number crunchers over there in Toronto. Maybe the analytics say nice. You know, he was elevated by the players he was playing with. And that's why he put up the numbers that he did blah, blah, blah. But I agree with you guys. He's fucking he's 220 pounds. He's built like a brick shit house. He's a type of guy. I'll fight. I love how he competes. He's great on the forecheck. He's physical. He brings a very well-rounded game. And it goes back to the fact that he only makes seven and change for the next I think six seasons or maybe seven seasons. So we'll see. We'll see how this transpires and murals just because I'm being non-biased saying, wow, they improved in net. They improved on defense. They I would go as far as even saying this. I'm not saying that Gavin McKenna is selky worthy or he's going to help out on the penalty kill like Mitch Marner. But from watching in preseason on an entry level contract, I feel from the the way that he's carrying it from the through the neutral zone from his D zone to the O zone. I think they've replaced Mitch Marner's playmaking ability for $11 million less for the next three years. And this kid is obviously a hockey genius. And I think by the time his entry level contracts up, he will be shades of what you
you saw for Mitch Mariner, they essentially replaced him with the fucking pick of a number 12 draft draft lottery ball. You're welcome, Toronto. You're welcome. Very well said, Bose. I agree with it all, but I just thought you were done. I thought that meant you were never going to talk about. He's an analyst. He's talking about the team. He's talking about this. He's as a fan of the hot candles. He can't like candles and shit, but he's got to talk about. Okay. And the better they know more blazer on FNT, the better they do. Let's go as far as saying this, we ain't going to be talking about Chicago much because they ain't making playoffs original six. We know Detroit ain't making playoffs for the what 12, 13th year or a original six, they're out the tubes. New York, Cusp team at best, maybe a wild card realistically, they're the Fugaisies. Another fucking original six team gone who lost in there getting me gave it though. Oh, well, that's, yeah, that's skated in east. I lost. There's four fucking Montreal's are really the only hope who's the other one I'm forgetting right now. Toronto Toronto. There you go. Well, we got to talk about the original six teams. Okay. And the better they do, the more he has to talk about them knowing that like he can't even like shove it in our face. So it's a true win win. Everything's come. I should have my own float at the parade if they win the Stanley Cup this year. Okay. You will. Merz on with us. I love when Merz on with us. It is great. Hot take there that he's not Mariner, but you're going to see shades of Mariner and by the third year of the entry level deal ending, we're going to have replaced him. Mer, why don't you give us a hot take or two for you in this NHL season? Because these usually go haywire. I usually like to see some more that the games before I take my, you know, shots on some of these teams or players. If you're looking for me for some prop bets, I got a bunch of blogs out for that. But my biggest thing would be we're going to see Connor Hellobuck in a Buffalo Sabers jersey. And then when the Buffalo Sabers have him in the net, then the east is as open to them. It can be them Carolina or Florida to go to the cup. So that's the biggest thing I'm looking forward to and predicting is that Hellobuck is going to end up with my Buffalo Sabers. Okay. Soon. I would say within the month, I would say within the first month of the season, it's going to the pressure is going to get on Winnipeg to do something with him. It can't just have nothing going on Buffalo. That's what they need. This is why they made the moves they did. They got rid of Byroom. They got rid of Talk. They got the money. They got the space. And Hellobuck for Buffalo. I got a question. You know how a lot of guys get like signing bonuses for their, and then make a million bucks during the season, whatever. If you hold out like he's doing, and he got a signing bonus check on July one in his salary is a million boxes. He only losing out on that million. Oh, so I looked at this because I was thinking Hellobuck now starting today. Like he's losing money. He's losing money. Okay. So like in 24, 25, the first year of his deal, he had a $5 million signing bonus and his salary was $5 million. His salary last year was $10 million. Now it's seven and a half this year goes back to 10 next year. It doesn't matter how much money you've made. In terms of the game, a chicken that they're playing like, dude, come like November, you got no money coming in and granted dude, he's made so much cake. He's going to be back. He's got so many more years on that deal left, fuck, that hurts. That hurts sitting around and the team's not doing it. The team's doing so little that you have to release the statement on your own to try to get this going. And then the pay stops. It doesn't come as everyone else is getting paid. That hurts. I think I think he could do raising canads till he's blue in the face. States after winning a gold medal for the right. And I don't know if he ain't the guy walking in with the Gucci belts in the in the Louis Vuitton loafers and the Bottega Veneta bag. So I think that he's probably got about a hundred of its saved the way the S and P's been ripping. I don't think he's spending the only thing he's buying his bass boats, and fish and rods. But that will be interesting. He's like these guys that are getting the 80 million with with as the signing bonus. You don't have to give that back. Like that money is dirty, deposited, making the interest. So in, yeah, say like Leo Carlson, right. He got it all in signing bonus. Yeah. How many holds out in five years? He's only losing a million bucks. How about in the locker when the guys who had that? Yeah, I don't give a fuck. Yeah. You had that July 1st paycheck. I don't care if we don't play. Wow. How much of your salary was in bonus? Yeah. I think that year I probably, I think I probably got like a three and a half million dollar signing bonus, two and a half, they're in the year or two. Yeah. But you knew the lockout was coming, right? So like the your agent could prepare for them doing that. All right. Well, Merr, before we throw it, we had that's your only hot take. Well, I was going to ask him his cup champs cup. My cup picks. It's back on the chick. Let's decathlon. And if this happens, I will do all seven games again. Or however, however many it goes, Vegas, first Florida, and you know how I ended up after that trip with and that was only five games. If it goes seven games, it could be the end of me. But at least you don't have to fly back to Sweden at the end of it. That's all you will. You will. Yeah. That's right. That's part of my decathlon. I have to go back to Sweden on the off days. The train ride too. You have to go on the Odyssey boat though. But if you're looking for someone, I got, but I got some profit. I have Utah. I know you guys are big on Utah. I have them out of the playoffs. I know it's, it's their great team. I think maybe they dipped down after a great year last year. And just because I have to have St. Louis get in there. I know you guys are big on St. Louis. I don't know how, like, how, how you targets in if I have St. Louis in. Well, who you have five central, right? No, I got four because out west, I need Edmonton. I need a Vegas. I need San Jose and I need Anaheim. You got, you still got Anaheim. I took, yeah, I think Carl. Talked me. Yeah, and I stand to lose the most if Anaheim goes in the toilet in the next few years somehow. They saw, I saw this young D that played for them. I haven't, I just won game. He looked really good. What, what's his name? Lendell or something? What was his name? You guys know what I'm talking about? That question too. Oh, cool. Loot. Loot. Luton. He's a right D. He looked pretty good. I think if he makes the team, he, he, he, he makes up for Truba being gone. So I, I, I still like the ducks. They got a great goalie, great coach. Did we talk about more getting that deal in Chicago last pod? Oh, no, we didn't know we did. Glad you brought it up. I had that. That's a steal apparently. Yeah. Well, five year deal, four point two, five. So this begins, it actually doesn't even begin this year. He's still entry level begins next season and it runs through 2031, 2032 year. He, last year played 51 games, five goals, 14 assists. I do think that the, the, the discussion of him moving forward as he could be a very good player. I know that he was a nasty player with like USA hockey growing up. Did he play at Minnesota? Murr. Is he a Minnesota guy? More. Yeah, he was all over more. I should know this. Let me look here quickly. Yeah, played. He said he was for two years. That was his, he played nine games at the end of the season two years ago. And then last year, he had nine games, nine points in the AHL and 51 games, 19 points in the NHL. So a 19th overall pick in 2023. If he does do what they think, that's, that's actually one that's way different than some of these big dog deals. Because it's like, wow, until he's making 13.75, yes, 60 points look good. But this kid, if he were to get 25 points, make it four and a half, starting next year, it's actually okay. So they're like in a great spot with him where they're believing this year where he's still entry level. And then four years of 4.25, you could see a monster bargain in two, three seasons. If he's a 50, 60 point player. So I like that. Good. I got another young guy for you to look out for a wet college guy, Michigan like Fantilly. Is this TJ Hughes? Did he make Colorado? I think he's going to make the team a start. He looked awesome in the preseason. He was scoring, flying around. He was, I think, the lean score in the whole country last year in Michigan went up to HL and the playoffs. He scored there too. So that, that's a, that's a dark horse for the Calder trophy. Yeah. G saying he made the team and call it out. Oh, wow. Good for him. Undrafted player, right? Yeah. There's a few, if he's playing with like Nate or something and getting a ton of points, that's a good little bit. Yeah. I do quickly want to say before we throw to Liam McQue, because I wanted it when we were talking Babcock and the Messier comments, I think that when Cross became into the league, he, he was so dominant and he kind of like wind a little bit of officials and like non penguins fans like hated sit. Would you guys agree? Sit was kind of, sit was like hated. And then it was just, you couldn't hate him anymore. Like it just, you also with, you had the lockout to where you had all these older players, some of which couldn't even play in the new NHL. And then still the older ones hanging on where they were used to the clutching and grabbing. So when you were doing that, and they were getting penalized, they're like, this fucking, this fucking new kid is fucking guy, fucking diet and all of baby this crying of the refs, because I fucking hooked them all the way up the ice and ski them. That's not part of why there was a lot of dislike for, for said from.
certain fan bases. - Oh, great. Now, I think McDavid is like, the Oilers are despised by people. And I find it, I find it so weird 'cause they, if they had won, right, and they'd won, I could kind of get it. Now, maybe that goes against me saying, Crosby, like the hate went away when everyone's like, "All right, this guy's just this good." Well, McDavid's proved he's that good. He hasn't won, but people, and now with Babcock coming in, I think they're the most disliked team in the league. Like, I keep, I'm watching on Twitter. People hate people. - I think that's a fair comment. - They want the Oilers, and now with Babcock there, that it's like people are frothing at the lip, at the mouth to see this implode. And it's bizarre to me how the Oilers, for some reason, are despised by so many fan bases. - But you and people hate McDavid, too? - No, it's not, I think they constantly talk about, like he hasn't won anything, and it's like, I get some-- - Orations. - But, buddy, I'm an Oilers fan, but if I wasn't, I get so much joy watching him to try side of play, that I find it so odd how people are so rattled by the Oilers. - Somebody's got to be the bad guy. I think that if you take things along the way that, like for instance, you said, "Oh, he hasn't won the big one." Okay, well, that's something that is used against them. In the midst of the, like the four nations battle slash Olympics, there's been like the Cana versus U.S. thing. So obviously, on the American side, it's like, "Ah, you know, McDavid can't win the big one." The video from Amazon, him snapping in the locker room. Like little things along the way that have been built up to be used against him. And it's just, yeah, I guess he's the easy target. Not to like, I don't think to a degree maybe where Sid was at early days. Shockingly though, early days, it was like, Ovi was liked more than Sid. 'Cause he was like physical running guys around. It was, you know, and then all of a sudden it flipped. And then-- - When he kept beating Ovi. - And then Ovi couldn't win the big one. And yeah, there was that side of it. So I would say with the Babcock situation, yes, the Oilers are probably the overall most hated team in the entire area. - More than Vegas? - Yes, because people care more of Vegas, it's more comical. - Okay. - And it's just, yeah, Vegas is a common show. - Dan also, I don't care about this shit. They also signed one of those kids that was involved in that whatever the, who's more-- - Formate it. - Formate it, yeah. He could be solid for them. Not guilty. - I don't know the story or what happened. I'm just saying is like, I see people bitching about the fact that they signed him. So they've taken the noise away from Vegas as being the most hated. - Yeah, people want this to just end in disaster. It cracks me up and it's like, fuck, they went to the finals back to back years. And then last year, like, McDavid was injured against the docs. The docs were awesome. The hostile was a beast, but it is us against the world boys. It's us against the world. - Ovi didn't win his first cup until I believe it's 13th season. Is Connor going into his 12th season now? - I think 12. - Maybe it's 13th. And maybe we're entering the McDavid bad boy era. - I hope so. - If he got a full bad boy, that will be unbelievable. - This is 12th year. - This is 12th year. - He's got the assless chaps coming to the ring first game with the gag ball in, like the fucking average Joe's. - Boy, he's five, he's six. He's six seasons away. - The alo assless chaps. He's seven, him and Larry is dog of the matching gag balls in their mouth. - It's Lenny. - It's fucking Lenny. - Oh, sorry, I thought I was Larry. - He needs seven more years of 100 points to pass Gretzky for Gretzky's 1500 point seasons. McDavid has nine. And just the hatred he gets is what I mean, dude, his last six years, 105 points, 123, 153, 132, 138. - I don't think you can watch a Hawking game and be like, "I hate this guy." - I don't get it, but. - No, I don't agree with any of it. I'm just saying I agree with your comment where they become easy targets. They got their own people coming at them now. Mess one five cups there, and he's coming at them. - Yeah, we didn't need that, but it's moose. I'd watch the season to siss from him. - Call me up to siss it to siss from him. - There's a headline hot now. - Rachel's kind of fucked up right now. - Oh, it's a gong show, and I love it. I can't wait. I mean, boys, I didn't even mention, we have game notes back this Wednesday. We're back twice a week. R.A. will be on the Thursday show. They dropped Friday. We're excited, boys. Monday. - Hawking. - No, sorry. Tuesday, Wednesday, Friday. We are back, NHL's back. And NHL on TNT is entering its sixth season with Biz and Liam McEw. So we sat down with him for about 20 minutes. Gang, before we go any further, I want to talk to you about Reese's, the peanut butter cubs, best candy on the planet. I used to punch a hole through the middle of that sucker, put my tongue through it and then dummy the rest of it. They got it in the ice cream. They got the miniature ones that have the foil. And as you guys know, it's the official candy partner of Barsetool Sports and of course the spit and chick with podcasts, but the nostalgia that the peanut butter cubs bring to my life is like any other. So Reese's the official candy bar partner of Barsetool Sports, go get Reese's wherever you shop. All right, it's a pleasure now to be joined as we kick off the sixth season for the NHL on TNT, the host, the man behind the magic who has to deal with Paul Bisonette constantly. Liam McEw, what's going on, buddy? - Boys, don't give this to you. - Yeah, I'm, I couldn't be more fired up. I, I don't know, I love this job. I love babies that didn't do this. Like, my kids all, all summer long, prepping me for biz. And, no, this is fantastic and listen, you guys know, you're pretty so much fun and energy. And, I think in many ways you guys kind of open the door for our show to, you know, be able to do what we do on TV. So, I love what you guys do and I'm pumped to be back for another season. - I think I've asked you this before, but you say, we might help you do what you do on TV. I don't know about that, but I do know, there are many people who've reached out to me in the league that say, how does biz get away with that? Like, how is he able to say that? There has to be times that there has to be, well, when you asked Wayne, if he did shrooms before the show, that was one. Are there times where you're like, oh, oh boy, we could be here from the manager on that one. - There would be a few words just like, you know, I know I caught it and I'm 100, how many other people caught it. But of course, like, yeah, everyone's like, you know, recording it, flowing it down, playing it back a billion times, and remixing it on social media. So, everybody catches everything. I think this gets away with it because I think, I think he's generally good guy. - Okay, oh my goodness. - Oh, great guy. - Oh yeah. - Great guy, boss. - And I think, like, you're not out to get anyone. If anything, you make yourself the butt of the joke, 99.9 for some of the time. I think if you were out there attacking people and going after them, you would not get away with any of this. And you and I would have had a very short partnership together. (laughs) - But I do think, I get, I mean, how many times, it's almost, it's not weekly, but it's at least monthly where I stay like, oh, business has been a lot of fun working it. Like, on the it. Like, you know. - I could be it. - Yeah. - This could be it. - Here are six, you never know. - Yeah, we'll cut the montage of our time together. - Yeah. - Yeah, but it's because I'll see, you mean, well, you're a good guy. And I think, you know, in the end, your hearts are the right place. And people get up. - I'll clean it up. I'll clean it up. - No, don't do that. - Don't do that. - It's at least, don't like that. - Do you think it's 'cause, you know, TNT is dealt with Barclay and Shaq. And those guys, like, acting a fool, and they understand that that's what sells, right? And when business is doing this crazy stuff, like they understand people want to watch that. And obviously, to prove it,
is in the pudding. Everyone's watching you guys. You're the best show on TV. Well, listen, thank you. I, I, I, I can't say I enjoy doing it. I love it. So like, it's very cool that people take it. And I'm grateful. I am obviously that I get to work with Biz because this is one of those like, you don't know until you meet somebody else going to work. And it's worked so well. Like, I think the partnership that we have in the way that like, I get to play a straight man, you know, like off of your, like, craziness that like, it works so well. But I think Barclay and Shack and everybody open the door, definitely without question. They did that. But yeah, I think it's an attitude down at TNT that you are here to entertain. I think it plays better in many ways for basketball and hockey than other sports because it's a long season, guys. It's a lot of games. And let's be honest, not every regular season game is great. It just isn't. You know, and I don't think we're out of going out of our way to like, hey, let's make a viral moment or let's try to, you know, go out of our way to, you know, light up the internet. Those moments happen because they happen. And, but you have to have executives and people behind the scenes or willing to let those things happen. They also, they have to be willing to let just wing and miss. Yeah. And we miss like, you're going to, it's going to fall flat. You're going to offend somebody. What you have to have is people who say, listen, you swung, you swung for the fences, it fell flat. But you still have a pretty good batting average, but let's keep doing it because it works. And I think there are some people out there that get nervous. Like if something doesn't work once, they don't ever do that again. And that's not really been the experience. You got to take swings. Yeah. And we do that. And they're fully willing. I mean, we've only have like two or three things. I feel like they didn't make it. What? What? Did you even make the shoulder? The eyes of Pan might have got to see my gas. Liam, I think I know what you're going to mention right now. Yeah. But you say it first. No, it's actually, it was, it was the bet that we had, right? Yeah. Yeah. Canada, US. And then like stuff started happening politically. It got a little crazy. And like Liam had like, you take it away. Yeah. So we were going to, you know, some of them, it was like the battle of the anthem. We're going to have to sing the other four nations. Yeah. Oh. And like there is somewhere in existence, like a full, like music video, like 80s style music video. But I am dressed as a Canadian bounty and singing the national anthem. And like, it's, like we've done things over the top before every, you know, this is just like, oh, what are you doing, next? Like I'm on a moose. I'm a, I'm paddling on a lake. And I'm singing the anthem the entire time. And it was, it was so hilarious. It's so ridiculous. But it was also the last few things that we caught. It was while, you know, politically, everything was kind of exploding. And it was tough as you're like, I just know that this is going to be awesome. And there is just no, which is said. Oh, yeah. No, it's not going to, like, it was, it was definitely not the time to do it. And, uh, but it was one of those things were at a different time at a different moment. It would have been excellent. We'll recycle it for the next Olympics. We'll just make the, make the bet. And hopefully that's it. Yeah. I'll look exactly the same. Yeah. Liam, I wanted to ask you of all the skits and all the stuff you've done in the five years. You have a top three moments or at least a favorite moment. Maybe sit next to Wayne Gretzky for the first time or any of those skits that really step out to you. I loved retiring Wayne's sweater vest. Yeah. I thought that was ridiculous. With the excellent. We've done a few good things with Wayne. He wasn't there. He was sick and tired of the sweater vest, like, like, convo that you would bring up, right? He'd like, yeah, at a certain point, he's like, I don't think maybe he likes being the center of attention like that sometimes. Like, that just speaks to who Wayne is. So I was so you've ended his sweater vest and McDavid's hot tub. You're just crushing oil oil. Oh, I just beat that beat it to a pulp until they're like, I'm not with this. Well, was there anything better than the look on the David's that he's when is with start to ask about the best. The one at the awards show was that the awards in Nashville. That was when he reached the boiling point. He's like, I'm done with this hot tub top. Yeah. I might actually bring it back up. I noticed we didn't get asked back to do another awards show after that. It was the end of award shows. There was that they don't even do it. I was dressed like broke back down. Did we ruin that? Yeah. They just send them to them now. It's done. It's done. I mean, that one, we he wasn't there on his birthday when we we bought him we bought the goat a goat and we brought something goat in. That was that was the little Wayne. I think that was one of those moments where like, you go into an email and you're like, can't believe what you're typing and requesting. You know, you're like, uh, surely like someone's going to like send this to someone I'm going to be fired. And the email came back from people up top. They're like, yeah, we can get a goat. We'll get a lot of dope. We'll have it there ready to go. Yeah. Yeah. One of my daughters birthday. We could go. We'll get the same one. Yeah. But I would say business done some incredible things. The department of broadcast or safety. But I was with March. Marchie was Marchie just being able to be that quick on his feet and like being ready to play an NHL game. Like that is a certain talent that I don't know how many other guys in the league even have that ability. Yeah. Yeah. And I think I'm shot at how people have taken to Mr. TNT, which is, you know, I mean, like, it's in the title. Like it's a fabricated trophy. Like, we just conjured this up. Like it, you know, and I love that we gave it to Ovechkin. And he had no idea like at a response of it. Never heard of TNT. But I know what this is. And, uh, thanks. Maybe meanwhile, when Reeves didn't win it, it looked like he might cry. Like he was still like, he was still amped up. They might win Mr. TNT. Uh, I don't know, but just the fact that, and I think that's it. And yours show it's similar. Like where if you don't embrace it, like they'll matter like whatever you're involved in, if you don't embrace it, it's not going to work. And like I think the more over the top we've been, the more willing people have been to embrace it. And it's great when we agree to be in to watch him cringe during these things. Yeah. And just like shake his head and be like, why do I spend time with it? But also knowing it, but you're up with that. And he loves it. Like he, he's still that guy like wants to be a rock or wants to hang out with the boys. And, uh, that's a pretty cool thing for a guy who's, you know, living a life that game and imagined. One thing that he would like to see more of is he is like obsessed with the history of the game. Like he loves to, to, like he's an encyclopedia himself. He loves to give recognition to the people before him. So that's even one thing that I would hope to like do on this podcast is do more of the history stuff. I've been doing it with US presidents lately. So that's kind of, I guess, uh, you know, getting there. But more so with the hockey side of things like people who paved the way. So do you have a new podcast? Yeah. What do you mean about US president? No, he had, uh, he explained the, the Louisiana purchase to us last episode. And somewhere in my eighth grade civics teacher, Mrs. Landry, who was a complete rocket. It probably really had a heart attack that I was learning about the Louisiana purchase from Paul Besanette. But that was, that was where we're, yeah, Thomas Jefferson. We did a lot of the ice cream for the last season. Well, uh, business, he's a jack of all trades master and none. Do you know a lot about US presidents, Liam? Uh, I probably, no, probably less than I should. Um, so don't just start throwing things at me because I'm gonna get it wrong. I, I feel like though, do you have ever seen this kind of drunk history? Yeah. Is this is business in any way? Uh, we're mostly high, not drunk. We're not learning about it. We're off to. But, uh, he's the one who's extremely knowledgeable. And I'm sure he knows what that show is. But I just have become more intrigued with like learning like random facts like that. Like, for instance, like, uh, Thomas Jefferson was, was known for bringing ice cream to the United States of America because he discovered it in, in France and it was so popular over there among the Louisiana purchase, which would, would you have been able to tell me which states were purchased in the Louisiana purchase? No. Okay. All right. So you should do this. You should do an intermittent, maybe the second intermission of the, uh, King's abs game. You guys got Wednesday, which is gonna be a washing. Well, those guys are so well, we're in still lineups. They were around. A lot of, we're in Philly biz. Are you going to be there? Biz, you should go around to all the things. Send them to the Liberty Bell, put another crack in it. Um, how'd that get cracked? There you go. Uh, yeah. We need to know. That's Wednesday night's opening segment. Now, crossby, we got the Liberty Bell crack. Uh, uh, aside from all the Tom Foolery here, what are you most excited about as far as this NHL season's concern? Like, what are your top things you're going to, I know your islanders are probably not going to make playoffs, although they do have Pete the Boer. The last three or four teams he started coaching their first year, they actually made playoffs. So that's the only snowballs chance in how you have. Uh, thank you. I feel better about them now that you've dismissed them. Uh, I, I, I now, I had suddenly feel a lot more confident about the islanders, but I, I'm with you. I actually do think they're going to it would make sense that they regressed a little bit and it would be
but it's going to be hard for Shaffer to repeat what he did in year one, especially with all the attention he's going to get. I would say the big picture story, how Florida looks this year after missing playoffs, being banged up, you know, uniting the Kachak brothers and the switches they made in goal. You know, you have a lot of people already picked him up to either make the cup final or win the cup and it is an older team and it's a lot to ask, but man, that team, they are built to win. I think Paul Maurice knows exactly when to drop the hammer on that team and when to back off. I just love that when they were, you know, when they were truly great was we'd watch them play, almost play off level hot, eating out top, you know, where guys were sort of feeling it out. They were just running all game long just playing Panthers hot. And then beyond that, I think it's the pressure. Edmonton, the pressure on Edmonton and bring Babcock in. That is, I mean, that's a still popper for the entire season. And I look forward to the one on one Babcock. Paul doesn't add interview, which, you think we would have them on request them? Oh, yeah. I will request them. Why not? I think it would be great to, and I'd be interested to know if he would come on and chat with us. There's no history there cares. What do you mean? No, but I like, what would I even ask them? I was your time in Columbus. Why are the oilers three and 11 through the first 14 games? I think you need to be on the bench. We got to send you to one of the games. Oh, yeah. Right on the bench with them. It is great between the benches. What was that game? You did that. We did that. It was Buffalo. I think we're taught, we're in talks of doing like one of those a year where we do like a silly skit and do something to do Edmonton would be all time. It's Frank and Babs. But it's, I mean, it would have been, it would have been one of the biggest stories, even if Babs wasn't it? Yeah, right. You would just be Edmonton again. I can finally get over the stump. Colorado's in that state boat, Minnesota, but but there's no, there's not going to be any drama like the drama in Edmonton. So Liam, um, these guys, I'm not sure about murals, but Keith and Bizz have Minnesota missing the playoffs. If you, if Hughes leaves, that's the thing that everybody missed, including Billy G when he stuffed me in a locker on TV before the fucking season started. Jesus, crap. I gotta do my buttons. I definitely don't, I don't have the missing. Uh, I, I think that the vision is treacherous and, you know, this, and I were talking earlier and I know you like the saying Lewis Blues. And I just don't know how you can like another team in that division. I think the division suits you. You got to be begging for, you know, one of those wildcard spots. It had a team in that division. Uh, but yeah, I mean, following what happens with use, what happens with Lark of what happens with hell. And, uh, you know, it's a lot of going somewhere else to where exactly do they go and how much did they bolster that team? Uh, and then with saying Lewis, I think following Bennington because it, it seems like hope for from what are you hearing? Like they'd like him to be the man. That's a boy. So if he's the man and Bennington's out there and you're saying Lewis, you can add pieces and someone down the line can sit there and say, we are a goalie away from winning it. And we're not all that worried about the future. We want to win it right now. Uh, Bennington becomes a fast thing subject as well. Uh, so much of it is the West, which is where because the Westings so top heavy, uh, it's bad at the bottom. It's stronger at the top. And I think the teams are out of the most pressure to win the cup by the Colorado, Dallas and Edminton are those three teams right now. And then the team facing, you know, this is I talked about this earlier as well. The team faced the most pressure that really, it's not pressured to win anything. It's just pressure to improve and to show what some sort of road map to the future looks like is Detroit because it has been forever. And as someone who's been doing this a long time, when you just pencil Detroit, it's the playoffs with 25 straight years, to watch this drought now. Go on and on. And now see a Michigan kid born, raised, drafted, captain asked out is, uh, stunning. Probably just stunning is seeing a, a legend being, you know, pushed aside and into a different role in Steve I would, Steve I would not be in the GM anymore. So, yeah, that's a, to me, those are the things that are really compelling. Since you brought that up, it, uh, did they did iserman and Larkin meet in the past like three, four days and like, how to have a conversation or thing? I don't know what you mean, Horcoff. I heard that there was like a meeting in the organization and Larkin was a part of it. It could have been a joke and a meme because they had like the, the two rappers at the mic and it was iserman and Larkin at the, did you guys see that? Yeah, I've seen that with everyone. This is, this is a great example of what Biz does, unnational TV with no time to verify it. Right. Cytles start in a cologne. Yes. Or Bizzle or he'll jump in with a extraordinarily specific fact, right? And then go, I'm not sure if that's right. Would you know? Oh, here it is right here. Here was the meeting they had. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yep. That was it. I do know I read same thing. Who knows if it's true, but he expanded his teams because he had the original three teams. That was yeah. He obviously had a, I read that too, but no Canadian teams on there. Okay. So like, Munchery, all people kind of think that all the teams have no cap space that are on his list, right? Yeah. The cap space shouldn't be an issue in a year, especially two years. We'll probably all, we've already shattered about that this episode. Yeah. Yeah. No, I can't wait. I, I, this season does seem a little more, I don't remember a season seeming this hectic and crazy before we've had one game because of the storylines of Hellbuck, Larkin, and, and then the Panthers being bad and then coming back with Brady. It's just like there's so many different things going on, usually after 15 games. Now it's, it's like craziness before we've started. So that's what I think is kind of cool. We have joked for a long time, Liam, that, and we talked NBA with Barkley and Shaq, but we used to carve the NBA and the NHL has some NBA in it now. Players really run the show. And what's, what's ironic about us carving the NBA is the NHL like this is way more entertaining. So I know. I think I think it actually works. Oh, yeah, it's, I think there was a, a, a tinge of jealousy with every time we carved anyone would carve up the NBA. There was that feeling of like, yeah, I mean, everyone moves around and everyone's picking their teams and players completely run the show. I think though, I think there's a limit though. I think there is a point that you get to where it would be too much. Well, you guys should have whenever Wayne or celliosis on like an old school legend, even Hank be great at this too. Like, talk to them on where they think the line needs to stop, right? Like, yeah, like I'm being serious because I'm more interested in, and I think the longer that guys put like the longer guys play to go, like Wayne and Shelley, compared to Hank, it might differ, but I, there has to be old legends of the game, like enough, enough with the players controlling everything. And, and then the new age player kind of likes it, but even we think it maybe is kind of reaching its limits. So it's a good discussion for you. That would be a, hey, that's a great idea for a great game. Yeah, bring like, like, let's say four or five things happen. Like, is this over, is this too much NBA or is this, you know, is this a back over the line? We don't got guys sneaking out of the bubble to go to strip clubs to get like hot wings and shit, which is least they didn't get caught. Well, they didn't get exactly, exactly. That's a good. You're right, though. I think it's a great topic. Like, where, where would the line, where would the line be now? And also just asking them like, the line back that, I mean, it's uncrossable in many ways. And I'd be very curious to hear from both threats and hang about that. And they, they, they, they, I do feel like we're not there yet. We're not really approaching it yet. But I would say like, if you're Canadian, you know, if you're Canadian fan right now, I'm sure the summer felt that way, where it felt like, wow, like this is just guys don't want to be here asking out and making it happen one way or the other. And it's, it's got to be depressing and demoralizing in many ways, especially. And I look at it from Winnipeg, I'm a dominant team a couple of years ago. Like an excellent team. I know it, like it's playing down in the playoffs, but like, Phil, if it's a team that you could see and you're like, wow, this team could go to a cup file, could win a championship. They were in that small handful of teams. Out of all the Canadian teams, who could you see ending the drought in the next, you know, whether it's this year or the next five to 10 years of not winning a cup? I think it's Montreal without question. I just, I love what Martis and Louise do in there. I think the belief is real. It was so cool being there for the playoffs and seeing that atmosphere and how, how pumped up and how, I don't know, there was this longing for like that. Those big energy big gain moments. And it was a crowd that was appreciative of it. Of taking a step, it wasn't a crowd that was just, listen, there's just one that you lose. But I think it was this feeling of, this is the beginning. Yeah. And we're going to continue to take those steps. There's enough young talent on that team. And I do think, I think it's a Canadian city that is not like a ton of no trade lists. It's a beautiful place. It's original six. It's hockey crazed. So I think it is a destination in many ways.
so many hockey players still. To me, that's definitely the pick. And is after seeing how good they were last year. And I don't know, just the build of their team, the youth of their team, and now everybody bought into every word that Marty Semley was saying. I don't know, it just feels like they're they're on the verge. Great. I'm with you on that. But don't forget, and I'm a I'm a Canadian's guy. I've talked about Hudson since BU Demondov's one of my favorite players to watch. Don't forget. That was one of the worst Eastern conference finals in the history of hockey. Like they literally didn't they couldn't get the puck out of the zone. So true. It's just like everyone's like much or all 112 points this year. The great team, they got their doors blown off by the hurricanes. They did. And while getting gold standing that no one thought that we're going to get any. You're right. I mean, Caroline did that too. Of all of them. Yeah. They were fairly beaten. They didn't score a goal. And endless. Obviously, the easy choice would be Evan to because Evan took right there to win it all. But I think in terms of like looking at his team and feeling that they could be sustainable for years to come, Evan's in so bottle right now. Yeah. Which we love. Which we love. That's right. The Edmonton storyline. Yeah, just have them on edge and then ask for McDavid or dry side. I don't pregame and hit him up with a biz question. And yeah. Liam, we thank you so much for joining us, but I can't wait to kick things off Wednesday. I believe right now you're on your way to St. Louis to go watch one or both of your kids are playing the cross there. No, no, no, I'm I'm I'm work it. I'm going to see Louis. I don't even know, but that might be one of the greatest years that we've ever had in human civilization is when the Reese's peanut butter cup came in. With the year was 1928. They're the Carolina hurricanes. They're the champs, the goats, the winners. It's Reese's, the official candy partner of barstool sports. Go get a Reese's, wherever you shop right now. Thank you very much to Liam McHugh. Can't wait to watch you guys this year. Wednesday night, Pittsburgh, Philly, followed by LA Colorado. Can't wait. The league, the league made some news this week. I got to admit, I didn't even know this was a new rule. Trevor Zeegrich has given a penalty because Jersey was talked in. An amazing response by him. The next day, Instagram pictures of him from eight years old to 14 years old to current day with his Jersey talked in. But apparently you get a warning. And then if it's tucked in, you get a penalty. And if it's tucked in again, you get a misconduct. Don't really understand where the leagues coming from here, considering the greatest player of all time wore his Jersey tucked into his side. What do you think? Ridiculous. Ridiculous. I think it's ridiculous. It's one of the, yeah, like what's the reasoning of it? Like I don't know. There's a rumor. There's a sponsorship. Yeah, that's how I played somewhere. I love it. It was a tram stamp. The tram stamp with the bottom. That's where they're going next. Oh, so maybe that'll be no, I mean, whatever. If the salary cap is going to be 127 million, let's talk. Let's not fuck the shirts in boys. But I mean, if it's like OV, you should be grandfathered in like it, like five year rule, like OV, if he, he should be able to talk, it reminded me of the story when they had a new rule where you weren't allowed to sit on the bench. You know how some guys used to sit on the boards during the TV timeout when they come and clean the ice. I can't do that. You couldn't do that. They started the new rule and Yager used to do that when I was playing with them. The lines man came over to me. He was like, Hey, can you go tell Yager to sit down because he was too afraid to go talk to him. And I'm like, yeah, yeah, sure. Went over to him and I was like, Hey, Yager, where you going for dinner? Wasn't going to tell him to go sit down. You know, like, so I think you should be grandfathered in. If it's part of your part of your style, like that's what you do. Maybe just start setting the rule now. Like the guys wearing the turtlenecks. I know murals you got had something to say about McKenna wearing this turtleneck. It's, it's awful. When you can't have this showing underneath, you got to get a flap that keeps it all underneath or you got to get the one G shirts. The kids wear because I can't have this little thing like this. It looks just it looks like like where memes played as like last year hockey like Bantam single A in the middle of Ontario. It's just a horrible look. I don't know if you you you described it with, but Zegress was penalized for it in a preseason game. Yeah. Did you did you did you mention that part of it? Yeah. Did you did you mention the fact that the next preseason game that all the players in warm-up that was on it in solidarity with their teammate, which is so good for team morale early. Yeah. I felt off you flyers. We're going to have a target on their back after making playoffs last year. I agree with Yann's in the grandfather situation, but it should be like a list of guys based on their ability and their swagger on the ice that you'll be able to do. And each year the league releases the list of players allowed. That is a great idea where you could get drop off the list like, for instance, yeah, if you want to make David fucking tuck the whole thing in. He could wear a tuck tank top if he wanted to exactly. Couture of 1,000%. McKinnon he what he doesn't do it, but he could do it. Logan Stanley Logan Stanley new sign of the islanders. No. Nope. He wouldn't even want to. I'm sure. Yeah. Exactly. So you go to guys who can and can't do it. Who do you like like fifth on the scoring list last year 103 points. Shifley. Like I don't see shifley as I don't see as shifley as a Jersey tuck guy. I don't think he does it nor would he want to. So he would not be on the list. Suzuki absolutely not. There's no swagger there. He's just going about his business like Patrice Bergeron. He's not talking to shirt and he's all business. Posternock 1,000% Martin natious. I think that McKinnon gets the pass, even though he's not doing it, but I don't think natious is on that list. Yeah, but if you get one a team, one a team, he gets it if they don't kill McCarrer, it gets the top four natious guys. Leon dry side. Edmonton would be the only team that gets a pass for having at least two guys on the squad. I mean, Boos has swag and a cannon and Boos could be a tough guy. Luke ain't fucking doing it. Dude, if if if he gets the rig surgery where both his eyes are straight, then we'll talk Jason Robertson. Absolutely not Kyle Connor. No, Jack I go. Yes. I would give him the pass. I give it to Kyle Connery flies around. That's a guy I could see with the tuck in. I personally personally, I just don't hand this out to everybody. Personally, I don't think tucked in jerseys look good. Really? Oh, really? You don't think Carrilka pre-soft would look good when we're with a half talk. He looks great. And then when he wears it, doesn't it? Yeah, he has to be on the side of the grass. He looks good. Like Zebra's on the back. I don't like that look. Side different conversation. Did you talk about the history of hockey and how Wayne does like it? Do you know how the Wayne Gretzky tuck started though? Yeah, probably because he was playing seven years He was up and he had a jersey that was an adult.
Jersey and he was for that's what kids don't understand now like youth hockey. The jerseys used to just be there. Those are the Bantam set and it just you handed them back in at the end of the season. I need to see a new age like I need to see an eight year old right now playing with 11 year olds. There has to be somebody out there. The old playing up is something murder. You know, what about what about wider rider? I mean, they're not there. They're not at that. I'm trying to get them at their age group. I'm talking like Tim Conley playing with 78 when he was in 81. Where are those kids now? They got to be out there somewhere. I feel like they don't let you do it as much. What? You're going to get a million DMs now. I'm trying to get my daughter to play down a level in soccer. I think she's up too high. Are you allowed to do that? Um, reclassared third grade. So every team should get, uh, there should be a list that we vote on every year who was on the board. I like that. Barkie. Doesn't Matthew talk it in? I think Matthew does. Yeah. He does everything. He choose the mouth guard. Like he's a sloped hard out there. He's got the, he's probably got the unzipped pants. Yeah. Oh, on the legs on the inside legs. That's a, that was unzipped to me. Unzipped pants. It's not as bad. It's on the same planet as kids who pulled the socks down over the heel of their skate boys. Busy used to do that. No, he's not. Not, not just the heel. He did over the toe. I would go over the toe. Like, Jen goes, Jen goes. I swear to God. I swear on my, I swear on my mother's life. You did bowl. What do you? So you look like a figure skater? Now, Jen goes over the front. And then I would, I would do like a tape job. And then I would fold it. It was, how long can we talk it? Sorry, Neil. I don't know. I should have been put back in a womb. I should have been put back in the womb for how bad this. That's an example. Sometimes it's great. Sometimes it's great when your dad didn't play hockey because he can't give you any pointers. That's one where you needed, you needed your dad to play hockey. I recommended it. I don't have a relationship with my father anymore because of it. I haven't smoked a cam in six years. I've been getting through it in therapy, but the part of the rule that's so you, if it gets tucked in throughout the course of play, it's not a penalty. But then there's like the gray area, like, imagine this is an added review with offsides and no goals that they go back when it came off. If the jersey was talked in through through game action, that would be that's not good for chasing goals with no more reason. Goals coming off the board. So, so got another text. I won't say who about why it might be the case. Apparently Jersey sales are down. Really? And I don't know. This is the text. Well, there's $700. I saw, I saw a new mechanic. Jersey for 700 Canadian because it's talked it when they're tucked in. You can't see the number and it's like hard to distinguish like who it is. And therefore that correlates to Les Jersey sales. Don't know if I believe that. I believe that getting ahead of selling tramp stamp ads way more than I do them, not being able to make out what player it is. So I be like, I think that the tramp stamp ads given where the salary, it's kind of funny. Like get like the monster energy drinks, tramp stamp, you know, I would personally have red bull over monster, did you ever see the one from my team in Switzerland, the tramp stamp, erotic market. Is that what I think it is? That was our team in Switzerland. That was what it was. No, it was a store. Like a shop like an adult shop. Wow. They call it the market. You guys get like money off at the store. That was probably where I couldn't talk my shirt in. It was probably a goal. You got to go over the Tobin to find one of those nearby here. The easiest key, the Eastie, erotic money. That's where Marchenko was going after the skate and Eastie. Why wouldn't Marchenko be skating with all the NHL guys at warrior? Why would he be skating in Eastie? I don't understand this. He liked my response was I didn't even know there was a rink. It's the same. Yeah. Boys, hockey's back. I love it. That's great. Catching up with you guys. Merr. Love you. Join. And the last story I have here is a senator's owner, Michael Ann Lauer believes Brady could Chuck's family played a role in wanting him out, ending up with the Florida panthers. He said blood is taken up with that. And let's just say that his father and brother got in his kitchen. Uh, you think? Thanks, tips. Literally in their kitchen. Wait, no way. Yeah, I think it was his brother and dad, boys. Can you, I never even thought about that. Jesus. I know. I mean, that's news to me. I know. I couldn't believe it. Yes. I don't even know how we didn't start the show with that. That's the quote he had. I really get so rich. The, the, the, the, the, the booing of, the booing of Brady back in Ottawa is going to be that. What do you mean? No. You don't think they'll give him like a tribute? I think that he definitely got people cheering, dude. You could fucking, you brought this brother and his dad's fault. It's not his. But if they play the senators first in Florida, he'll probably have murdered someone on the senators, also going back to that. October 21, Florida at Ottawa, I believe. Oh, I hope Margie's back for that with the students will come back for that. That's early. Get it out of the way. That's nice. Yeah. Oh, I can't wait to see Florida, Carolina tonight, boys. That's going to be a five o'clock. That's going to shout out the NHL. Like they did it. Five o'clock, seven o'clock, eight o'clock, 10 o'clock, 10 30, also good games to great games, great game job by them. I can't believe we're back boys. It doesn't seem that long ago. We were just talking about Carolina. Get finally getting her done. Now we get to see them go against their nemesis who are healthy again, just to start this season off after a banner raising. By the way, did you guys like their rings? So, so the rings are cool. Whatever. The rings have gotten so out of hand and out of pocket now. Yeah. Gee, pull up Justin. It turns into like a necklace. Just it turns into everything. It turns into a car of cap spinners. Justin Williams tweeted out a picture. Actually, he made it so you couldn't retweet it because I was going to write on there. His he's holding on his fingers is the new one that he just got for being a part of the team, right? And the old one he got for oh six when he won the consmyth or that was with LA, but when he won it in Carolina, it's half the size. If not less, the older ones better. I like the old maybe I'm boomer here, but the older one you can wear. The new one is like, it's a **** it's a dick measure in contest. How much better is that old one? That old one's money. I mean, I would neither either way, they're not probably wearing them around, right? If I ever won one, I'd wear it every day. But like, I said that if I wore, if I won one, I would wear it like any special occasion. So like, go into the movie theater, picking up lunch. But I don't have one. Needless to say, okay, I can't, I never will. All right guys, I love you all. Fans, thank you for staying with us all summer.
