What is going on? We are so close. Camp is here. I love seeing the storylines. I love seeing. I love seeing all of a sudden Matthews went over 35 kilometers skating. He only did that once last year. He did it twice in the preseason game. All those little things are just giving me a little blood flow down. It's so funny that you mentioned Matthews because like, I was doing a little thinking and I honestly think that we could see an Edmonton oiler's Toronto made beliefs. They're like a plan. Yeah. So guys, this is the thing. He went on another peaking trip. He just did Mount Washington. I think he's still peaking right now. You got the western conference team, right? But you can't really, yeah, this is amazing though. I totally forgot going to the season. You're not a leaf fan. Like, this is just, this is great. So there, yeah, there's a chance they go to the cup final. I guess with you dropping off. And then getting the first overall thing. Yeah, with a 12 with a 12 number, the number 12 ball first pick overall from a kind of right after he quits him. You can't even, you can't write that script in a Hollywood studio. And now we're here. So the excitement goes, it just goes through the roof. And I like how the games are starting a little earlier this year with with 84. But as I do need to ask you, you're in New England. And then I'm sending, you're sending me pictures of Mount Washington. That did not look like an easy one. No. So we just released the latest peaking of how the soup high. And it's nice that we've been getting some momentum. And I had a gap in time after, right after G's wedding, while I was on the east coast where wonton could travel. And he mentioned going to either do Mount Cotadin, which is in Maine. And I believe that's the highest point in all of the New England. And or go to New Hampshire, where they have a beautiful park there where it's basically the hike of all the, the presidents. So we ended up doing a three day hike where we went to Mount Washington. We entered up goal. We stayed in a hut there at the lake of the clouds. Unbelievable time. So we got to the lake of the clouds, did the extra hike up to Mount Washington, because it was honestly one of the most beautiful days they'd seen there all year. Because you don't get windy as shit there. Oh god, you get. So then the next day, we kind of got the brunt of that. So we were very fortunate. And so we got there, went back down the lake of the clouds, hut. And then the next day, so we submitted Mount Washington day one. And then day two, we went to top of Mount Jefferson and then Mount Adams. And then ended up at another hut. And then the final day climbed down. Now, unbelievable hike. It is very, very grueling as far as the terrain and how rocky it is. It is a relentless hike. You're going. So sorry. So did you, once you did Washington, did you have to go down and then go do Jefferson or are they just peaks? Yeah. So that was the stipulation is because it was such a nice day and they get so few of them. And when you're up there, you don't normally get to see like we had 360 views of everything like to the point where you could see Canada. Like it was so clear. You never get days like the buddy, you could see all the way to Canada, even even John Kelly and Tyler were getting like, Hey, welcome to Canada on your your data plan. So that's how close we were and how high we were up. You could you could see it. I know you think I'm crazy. Yeah. No, I've never even what part of Canada would that be? Like right over the main border, whatever, I don't know what that is. Yeah. You're seeing through Maine to the other side of Maine. Listen, this is one ton telling me this, there's a one ton fact, not busy boy. I would never believe him a lot unless he's just in one of those moods to just troll the shit out of you. Maybe he's fucking with me. He does all the time. So yeah. And so we had to go to the lake of the clouds, which is probably I would say a good like four mile incline. And then it's another like two miles to the top of Washington. So we dropped some of the stuff off from our bag, went to the top of Washington and then had to backtrack to go back to the lake of the clouds hot. So it kind of sucked. And I'm like, why are we doing this considering we're just going that way tomorrow? But the the the following day we didn't summit Mount Washington. We just kind of went around it. But that was a hard day, man. That was eight hours of hiking up and downhill and and like the the the wind gusts. Like when we got to the top of Mount Adams, like it must have been like 80 to 100 mile winds up there. Oh, it is and you're stepping on rocks the entire time that and it's you're like you're stepping on the the jagged edges of rocks. So you're just like you're you're kind of doing like a quick feat drill the whole time you're doing this uphill. It's hard, man. I had to go what hurts the most right now from all the downhill at the end. You're like quads and knees and ankles. My ankles are so swollen. I looked like I had fucking elephant ankles. But yeah, I think we did Tyler Tyler in the peaking chat sent over what we were able to accomplish as far as elevation here. It goes right here when it looks like you could probably see like Sherbrook and oh, so mount mount ham Quebec 106 miles is a documented visibility landmark from Mount Washington and mount mega neck, mega neck, mega neck whole. I can't even speak. That's okay. There's another Canadian peak visible from the summit 90. So 100 miles of view. Yeah, that's pretty clear. That's a clear ass day, but so day one, we did 30 3,750 feet of elevation day two, we did 2700. But keep in mind that you're going like this. So you're you're you're you're doing it a few times. Day one was 6.6.5 miles. Day two was 7.5 miles. Day three was 3.8 on the sign, which died two thirds of the way through. So we did 18 miles of hiking two nights in the huts. The huts are a little a little different. Like the workers are up there basically the entire summer. And they do these like skits up there. They're you know, they're a liberal bunch. They're a liberal bunch. I think everyone liberals. Anyone could do skits, but like I can't imagine you being asked to maybe do a skit. Like you you actually probably would have done it. No, I was just more focused on like smoking and like doing shrooms and having fun with Wonton and the boys. We took some shrooms very early, like 30 minutes into our start. So by the time we were like an hour and a half in, we were tweaking. And then this guy who had no pack on, um, and he was just, he was done in it. Like he, this guy was a mountain goat. And so he passed me out, but I was saying high quickly. And then he started talking to Wonton. And then so I caught up to where they were. And next thing you know, as we're talking to him, a little squirrel comes out of his pocket. There he is right there. So this guy is his shirt pocket. His shirt pocket. So I'm like, is this Fred's brother? Is he's close friend? No. That's your father came out of his ear, but it's like, what's going on? It's tickling my, tickling my ass with it in the bunks at the first, uh, the first lodge. So I'm like, is that a pet squirrel? And he's like, yeah, he's a tree trimmer. Like he cuts trees. And he caught one of them and turned up. There was a family of squirrels and I think all of them had passed except for this one. And it was injured. And he like helped like try to nurse it for a few days. And then he like try to let it go free. And it wouldn't leave his front porch. So four days go by. And this guy's just like crying at the door of this guy on his porch. And so he called like the, the number that you would call it because they don't want you fucking with the wildlife. They don't want you like having these things as pets. So he's like, listen, it's been four days. And this thing won't stop crying. I have to feed it. And it won't leave me alone. And they're like, all right, call. Who do you call for something like that? There's like a number like a, like a, like a specific person. I didn't even miss a squirrel. But so now it's it's pet squirrel. It was just crawling all over him into its pocket. It had nuts in the pocket. It would like pop its how to eat it. And this guy, one day, we're all the way, all the way up to, I think his name was Kyle. This guy. Oh no, the squirrel. What was the squirrel's name? Oh, he didn't have any. He hadn't named it yet. So he, buddy, come on, Kyle. That's why he won't leave. He's like, what's my name? I need to introduce myself to other squirrels. Give me a name. He pink chippy is fish's gas over here in the group chat. Kind of love that. Kind of love that. At first, it was eating the nut. And I said, let's call it nutty. And then I got boot off stage. I got boot off. He had a beautiful salt and pepper coat on the top. So I call them cloonie. I like that. I like that. So I think cloonie, solid nick name or George, like have a Kyle and George hanging out. So the, the, the funnest part of these trips now, especially in the fact that we hiked up the, the, the, all a lot of these mountains in this mountain range, there's 40 or maybe our 48 peaks in that area. Look at that's one of the shots right there. 48 peaks that are 4,000 feet in elevation in that whole like territory. So it's pretty significant. And the terrain, that's kind of the, that's a lot of green right there. And some of the areas that's way more rocky. Hey, your hog Morgan Don there, bring that picture back. I hog Morgan. Oh, yeah, that's a hog. Well, I put a little Seattle. That's all. And that's all four skin, too. I, but my favorite part about these journeys, especially the fact that a lot of these were named after US presidents is learning about American history. And Mount Jefferson was the second one after Washington that we hiked. And I'm like, well, what is he most known for? And Jefferson was huge on ice cream. Like he made ice cream famous in the United States because he'd had it in France where he's Jefferson. Thomas Jefferson. He was huge. Yeah. So he really, so I'm like, come on. Like that can't be the only thing he's famous for. And he actually was crucial in helping in the negotiations to like buy a lot of the Western states like Montana. I think Wyoming might be in there like a majority of the West. I didn't even realize that at that point in time, the US hadn't owned that Napoleon owned it. And Napoleon had had had a bunch of debt based on like, I don't know if it was tobacco farms or sugar and cane plantations. Maybe because at that point in time, like slavery was coming to an end. So they couldn't get the cheap labor with the first known recipe for ice cream recorded by an American and likely helped to popularize it in this country. And he got his Wyoming and stuff. This guy. Can you tell me he's so smart. He's so smart. He's always teaching you. He knows a lot of shit. He's brilliant. So here's the thing though. Thomas Jefferson wasn't at the negotiation. He sent a few of the many trusted most to go negotiate and all he wanted to purchase was, I think it was Louisiana and maybe one or two other states at the time. And Thomas Jefferson goes, don't exceed $10 million in spending. Don't he goes, that's the max we're spending. He sent his guys and keep in mind, man, you can't fucking face time or our zoom call. Thomas Jefferson. He sent a squirrel. He sent cloon. Yeah. You could sell cloon in the pocket to help. They ended up coming back, buddy, with these at the 15 states created created by the Louisiana purchase Arkansas, Colorado, the eastern part, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Minnesota, West of the Mississippi River, Missouri, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Wyoming's in there. And Texas, small portions of the ladder, ladder boarding adjustments, buddy, $15 million. It's the greatest deal in the history of the United States. They got 15 states for 15 million. It worked out to three cents an acre. Holy promise. Three, you know, what's funny is I definitely learned that school. I think we all probably did. You know, Louisiana purchase. You remember, I remember Louisiana purchase didn't remember what was what it was all about. And now Biz does these videos. I love. And he's learning info, three teaching us things. This is a hell of a Monday right now. What's even crazier about this is like, obviously Napoleon was in a tough spot, right? Like he, like he was like short. He was leaking oil. He wasn't that short, actually. That was something that the French or the English used to insult him to make him insecure. He was actually average size for back then. I believe he was like five five. That's not that short for back then. But what's crazy is the Napoleon, he was like the leader of an army at one point. And then he lost control and like the respect of his men. So the new leader sent his men to basically capture and kill Napoleon. And when they came, he somehow talked them out of doing it and regain control of the army. And I was like, when Watan was telling me this, I'm like the same guy that got fleeced for those 15 states for 15 million at three cents an acre, talk those guys out of killing them and regain control of the army, I'm like, what world am I living in right now? And let's go. Scornelius wrote Caracolthias making as much as the Louisiana purchase. Yeah. In one year legit one year. And Napoleon was cat when he was like captured. And they put him on like an island on like a prison. And he somehow escaped and got off the island by himself. And then later on at the end of his life, same thing he was captured, put on an island. And I believe that he just died in this like prison with like nobody on the island. He had nine lives though. He had finagled his way out of a bunch of different jams. People cost to fill that bitch up right now. Okay. So here's another one. That's so funny. That'd be 300 bucks, 300. So this I stopped in a ski little ski town yesterday in Washington. This is what diesel was. 8.69. 8.68. And then so I pulled up and there was three people taking pictures of it. And one guy with a cowboy hat on like it was a full-fledged cowboy. And I go holy shit. Have you ever seen it that high? He goes, yeah, my buddy texted me in California. And it was over $10 a gallon in for diesel in California in the last few days to the point where it stopped at 999 because it doesn't go any higher than that. And they had sticky notes on the on the the diesel pumps. So like on average throughout this trip, I would say it's about 725 to 750 for a gallon of diesel. But whatever. I mean, I love how you love your truck. How many times do you have to fill up? I thought with diesel is like it stays forever. Or is it? I get a boat. It's an electric car. 550 miles per tank. So I think it's about a 15,000 mile trip. So it's going to be like a thousand bucks total. Yeah. Well, Pizz, are you you're ready for the season though? Like when do you TNT soon? Or ever ever since I was I started playing hockey. I left home when I was 16 years old. My parents had to drive me at that time because I didn't have a car. And I don't think I have my license when I left for junior to North Bay. They dropped me off. And I just, I'm, you know, I'm a creature habit. So I just love that after the season, you drive home or wherever you got a goal. And then you drive back. And I just, it just, it just sparks me up. So yeah, the start of the year on the drive back for you. You've always had that. The wheels are spinning. I couldn't be more excited to get back to work and watch hockey. And I actually liked the way the training camp is quick now. And it's like, let's just enjoy a little bit more summer. Hop in for a week, get fired up. And then boom, we're, we hit the ground running. So I'm going to enjoy the next couple of days, hit the road, do some thinking, catch up with, with some friends. I see in December, but he signed. And I saw the number. I kind of right away was like, all right, the ducks, they, they did some good work, right? Like he gets, I think he gets like 18.5 or something like right away, but his deal at that number after what you saw, the offer sheet, due to Carlson and the ducks. I love it. I mean, I think this, he let him in scoring last year seems like almost him and Gunther and we're talking Gunther later with Utah. Young guys who are going to be 40 to 50 gold guys every year, it seems like, right? And so now that he's kind of locked in and then he calls in the other night in, in exhibition game was a complete joke. And then he fed it over to Seneca once he dangled somebody else for gold. But I'm like, I was down on the ducks and this deal, I'm like, all right, I'm kind of, I'm back in a little bit here at the number they got him for. Yeah, I think it's a good deal for both. Obviously, you know, huge money for him. It, it's under, you know, what Carlson's making. So I think it leaves a good room for Seneca too. I think Seneca will be right around the same as Goatier. So yeah, I think it's a great deal for all them. Everyone's happy. He's not missing time and training camp. It's not getting, you know, lingered on and your guys are talking about it every day at training camp like you see him going on and win a peg. So at the end of the day, great deal for both teams. And I agree with you with, like, I was down. I didn't think Anaheim had a chance of even getting back from where they were. If, if he was going to get a huge, huge deal, like close to 18 million. But yeah, this gets them right back in the contention for me out West. I think we had them out of the playoffs, biz. Yeah, I think I was even I, I don't know, that was last week or was that two weeks ago? But I still think, man, like it, it's a hard cap league and it's still a lot of responsibility on a few players who were making a lot of money where it's just like, you know, we talked to McKenzie Weger and we went through their forward group and you're just like, you're naming off all these guys. And like, I mean, I think Kels makes seven and change. Small team makes a like everybody's kind of, I mean, what's Logan Cooley locked up for 11 million for the next? And he signed an eight year deal, like, yes, comparatively, the fact that we know that gun, uh, uh, Go Che is going to get 40 goals. He's getting paid 15. He didn't even sign an eight year deal. I believe it was a six year deal. So yes, 13 and a half AAV or 13 and a half, excuse me. Like, yes, it's a good AAV. You don't get them for the eight years, but you look around the league and what other guys who can do that and also combine with the Leo deal. Yes, compared to Leo, it's, it's an absolute bargain, but it's still, you're over 30 million dollars for two players. And, you know, I think that we were posting to the group chat or maybe we even mentioned at last podcast about you look at how many guys in the core group of Montreal or some of these other young teams that are trying to are kind of on the rise just like they are. And they got two to three other players for that in that value. So the play would have been if so he got to burn that year right out of BC, right? One game year burned. The next year, he gets 20 goals. That summer, they looking back. That was the play. Like, dude, imagine they probably could have got him on an eight year deal for like 10 after the sec after his first full season and then had the final year. But, but, but I think at least like ducks fans are saying it wasn't 16 a year. Now, what's crazy is he signs a deal. It's 850 salary. So the day signs a deal, he also got a check for 18.6. And they usually don't and they usually don't do bonuses like that right in Anaheim. I feel like that was a way to keep the AAV down a little bit and and they're willing to do that. But listen, like you, I mean, going back to Utah, Armstrong, their GM, like, yeah, okay, you're not crazy about the don't trade, but some of the good moves he's made is just don't fuck around and find out. Yeah. Just you think you got a guy and you're high on him, like a guy like Gunther, sign him as soon as you can. He's proved it for a year. Sign him as quick as you can, where now all of a sudden these guys have a laughable contract. I think Gunther's making like seven and a half, right? So and Koolie's 10, who is 10, 20 years. They're, they're, they're, they're locked. They're similar to Montreal of having guys at like crazy numbers. Well, we'll be crazy numbers in three seasons for a long, long term. It's almost more lucky that like Utah and Montreal sign these guys before the Carlson situation. Or they were thinking ahead. Is it love? Is it knowing what's going to happen? And Ryan Smith being like, just get these guys locked in blank check. Like you think that, do you think that the owner in Anaheim was involved in saying, Hey, just give these guys what they want now because it's going to keep getting crazier. I know. I don't know. Like, like Ryan Smith probably was like green lighting, like get Koolie, what he wants. Like, well, look at the, to NBA's like, this is like spare change drawer money. Right. Yeah. I know. I'm giving guys 56 million a year in the NBA. I will say and I do get it. And we're kind of like, I don't want to, sometimes we come off is, is, um, um, contradictory. I thought Ryan Leonard's deal was fucking incredible. Yeah. For what he's done. Like that 10 and a half number. Like you're saying incredible for him or, or you like it for the team. I think it's incredible for him because like it's like, like he hasn't done what would, uh, um, Gunther's done. He hasn't done with our, our, our goal chase done. Right. Now we're nowhere near that. And you're like, Oh, fuck 10 and a half. Like that's a, uh, it's a pretty, pretty steep number. But he was the biggest, right? He's in the eight year. Yeah. Yeah. It was the biggest for, for under a hundred games player or whatever it was, it was the biggest deal ever given out. But I guess I've, I saw him world juniors BC and the whole time, like, all right, this is a future, like first line winger. So Washington, obviously, after last year's, like, and the year before when he's in the playoffs, like, all right, I, I think we're getting way ahead of this. Yes. And in three or four years, we probably believe he's going to be based on where the caps hat of 15 million dollar player. Cause I think he's a 40, 40 guy. 30. I think he's an 80 point 30 to 40 guy who's running people over too. It's like a little unicorn issue in terms of how hard he plays. I, I actually thought for both sides. I was great guys. It was a great deal. This is awesome. A little better for him. I'd say a little like holy fuck. I haven't even like coolie. What we saw from coolie when he got that deal was more than what we've seen from Leonard when when he's now gotten it. But I think we're going to be looking back and just repeating what we just said though is like they got ahead of it. They didn't want to fuck around and find out. They just locked in the guy that they believe in and you can move on now. If he gets 30 goals this year coming up, he might sign a four year deal, five year deal. Like everyone else Washington gets him for eight more years. So I think it's a good for both sides. And and Goathe. He went from 20. His rookie year to 40 this year. And Leonard goes to 20. I think Goathe is a better goal score. But like for him to get 35 this year, I wouldn't be surprised at all. Not at all. And another guy for the caps. A little surprise at this one, but get it is sort of signs a deal where I think he's getting like six and a half million now. This guy last year, he had an incredible year. And what we get we got to talk a little bit more with this. I believe the year before he was like up and down. Didn't play many games. I think before last season he might have had 30 games played. And last year he popped off for 15 goals. And I believe 35 points. Fucking. He was he was he was listed as a fourth line center last year. I think with injuries. And just with how he well he played. And if you watch him plays an incredible skater, he drives drives a decent amount of traffic for being the player that he is. I think he helps penalty kill. And the average is 15 minutes a game all season. Pretty shocking to see the number though that he got just some people who are listening right now. I mean, I mean, who the fuck I'm talking about. Yeah. Six point three five for eight years. Six point three. I saw that first thing I thought I was the first thing I think on ones like that. I'm so happy for this guy. I know that is that is a talk about a feel good story as an ex player at least like man, this guy definitely wondered if he was going to be a full-time NHL at one point. And he just signed for six point three five. Then I'm like, all right, I kind of got to look more into him because as you say, I'm like, kind of who is he? I remember him last year. I'm like, wow, he was with Florida last summer at the draft. They trade him for a second rounder, which is kind of crazy based on would fit right in with Florida at short money. But they're so deep. If you have Bedard from the majority of the year, opposite of him is going to be Patrick Kane. They're going to have cancer off in that bumper. They like them there. So if you get the power play to average, you get a firearm, the dough to run that power play. Byroom up top. So Bedard was running the power play. He was quarterbacking it from that traditional kind of D spot. That's going to be Byron. So you slide Bedard closer than that on one of the flanks. I don't know. So if you get the power play to average, they were horrible three on three. So if you get closer to 500 there, all of a sudden, you're kind of, if you pick up 10, 12 points, you're not that far out of it. I don't think the top of the central is awesome. Utah's pretty good. But then it's really good. Utah's really good. So like those top four teams are tough, but is that last wild card spot there where it's, I don't think the breads are that great jets, you know, Calgary Vancouver. It's like they have a chance if things go right to be in the mix. And they were in the mix, you know, up until Bedard got hurt last year. So it's like with some development, power play improvement, it feels like they're finally trending towards being a team where you're like excited for the start of the season. Is what is Bedard's prognosis? Is it all of October? It looks like he's flying around out there. That's what I mean, where he's kind of non-contact, but he's skating with the team and he's rifle and poxy shot went off the crossbar, broke a light yesterday. So it's like, all right, that's snapshots looking okay. So yeah, that was the original prognosis was early November. I wouldn't be surprised if that's bumped up, just looking at him on the ice. Okay. And you mentioned development for this team. So when I was going over everything before the show, you look at all the draft picks they have playing now, right? Like Frondel's here. Boom, he's here now. All of a morse pencil is like third line center. That's a big prospect they've had for a little while now. Then you look at Lachunov. Okay. Now the only thing I've seen on a camp is him completely running someone over in a drill. I think fans have been like, oh, like we've liked some games. Sometimes there's a little panic there. I look at the draft where they picked him and then Seneca went to Anheim and Demodov went to Montreal. So I think Hawksvans kind of think about one of those guys on the team and it makes them a little sick. But give me your thoughts on him. Because if he pops off, then you're kind of like, all right, we have a number one here, a future number one, and that could change everything. Yeah. I mean, look, there's no getting around how bad he was last year. Like it was it was his ass or minus 35 or whatever he was. He had a rough rough year. But you know, I was listening to you guys talking about Buffalo and the playoffs and the difference where it's like they kind of took some stuff off of Owen Powers play. It's like you become a defense first guy. I think the plan is similar with Lachunov this year, where I talked to Blaschle at the end of the season. And I was like, yeah, this guy kind of worries me. He goes, not me. He goes, I love him. So he's like, he's a beast. He's like, he can be physical. Last year was tough. But I think having guys like they, you know, kind of an under the radar signing, Ian Cole, having a veteran like that in there, plus Byron. I think they're going to insulate him a little bit. And like the raw ability is there. He's just kind of had a weird development arc where he went from Belarus to the USHL, the Michigan state to the NHL, the HL back up. I think some stability. And I think having, you know, some veterans around him and just being like, hey, you just focus on the DN. We got guys to run the power play. We got Byron. We can be a breakout by himself. Just focus on being solid defensively. And then if you can do that, look, is he going to be a Norris guy like you want, picking second overall, maybe not. But if he can grow into like a bonafide kind of shutdown top 4D, to me, that's a win. And maybe you'll look back in five years, be like, it should have been Santa. It should have been demadoff. But right now like they needed a top 4D. If he and Rinzel can can grow into those roles, I like why it ties are a lot as a third pair guy. Like they like the bone, like you can start to see the vision. And if these guys all flame out, well, then Davidson's fired and we're starting all over again. Anyways, but at this point, it's September, whatever, Caleb Williams got heard. Braggman took one to the face. It's like, let's just be positive about one thing. It's got to be the Black Hawks. But I think that old saying, especially with D is don't judge a D on a bad team because it's so hard to be good. When you don't have the forward support, you don't have the depth, like, you know, he could be getting going out there sometimes with guys who are minor league players and he's playing shifts with them. So I think just like the eye test of watching him, I think he's got the offensive ability. But he should agree with you, focus a little more on being a defensive, like a good defensive two way player that can skate the puck up, but he's not trying to lead the offense. Leave that to a guy like Bo Byron this year and that's probably a reason why they brought him in. Yeah. And they're playing Byron with Vlastic and it's like on paper, I feel like that's a really good, balanced top, but like that's a legitimate playoff team top pair. It's like what can come in behind them, I think really matters. And it's like, and like the development is big, like we had Ryan Green playing left wing with the dart for the majority of the year. He's really, he was drafted to be a third, fourth line center. So it's like when you bring in Kane and get can throw him in front of, then you can kind of slot everybody more appropriately and all of a sudden, it's like maybe you do have a little bit of depth and it's not just kind of borderline guys making up your bottom six or veteran guys who, you know, just don't have a ton left. So I think, I think things could be good. I think they're going to be fast. I think they'll be exciting. Frank Nazar's playing with Kane and uh, yeah, I was going to ask him about him. He, I feel like he had a good start to last year and then I didn't really notice him in the second half of the season. Also part of one of the funniest plays we had him on the TNT broadcast. He scored this unbelievable goal and then there was a line brawl and he's selling it by himself in the corner and and I think Bennington's given somebody a blocker sandwich and he's given her one of the use ones to the, to the away crowd like that might have been the, that might have been the high of last year. That was a goal where I think that was it like eight to four or something like that. And uh, you're like, okay, like this team's, this team's buzzing and like he, he and Bedard to start last year were on fire. And then Bedard got hurt and I think maybe a couple days later, Frank broke his jaw and he was never, it took him a while, even once he came back to look like himself. And then he was getting in good areas and like having high, high scoring chances and just not finishing started to click at the end of last year. They need him to be more consistent. It'd be great if he could turn into a 60 70 point guy. Frontel is a little bit like more like NHL size ready, right? Frontel is probably what six, two, six, three is a big fucker. Yeah. 200 something. Is, is the plan to keep Nazar as a centerman? Does it, were you that you have Bedard and then Nazar as your one, two and they're pretty undersized guys, especially when you look at like what else the, the, the Western conference has to offer. You look at guys like Leo Carlson. You look at like how big these other centerman on these ones and twos are these other teams. Yeah. It does, it does worry me because that's like if you look at the playoff model, it's like there is seemingly almost like a formula where it's like, hey, we're, we got a Norris type defenseman, we got a big time goalie and we're big, we're big and physical down the middle and they wouldn't have that. I think eventually Nazar gets pushed to the wing. Oh, I was thinking maybe Bedard, you know, he, he turned into a madman about him playing. Yeah. I was with you on that until last year, I literally just trying to fucking stir it up with Chicago back. Now, that's a way to do it. Yeah. I think in today's NHL, if you played a full season, could put up 75 points, that'd be incredible. That'd be incredible. It's like, I just have these visions of how it was with him and Pinaran those, those two years with those guys who just snap it around and just play, I would say that Kane is probably the best example of somebody who had that hip surgery. He's like the only guy who was able to come back and, and do it the way that he's done it. It's a Jovo Kessler bunch of guys that never could really do the same way and he said that it took him a long time because he obviously he came after he signed, he came to our office the next day and he's kind of fired off. He's kind of looking at like, oh, well, it would be better in the shoot out with better or three on three. But he was saying like, it took him over a year to be feeling a hundred percent. I can't remember a team with this many like young guy question marks need to have a big year sneak into a playoff spot. I don't even consider anaheim that last year. It's September and I think a realistic goal, give me a, give me a big game at March. So if they play better in front of him and it's not great. a chance is like the only thing that they did well last year was penalty kill and I think he was a big part of that too. Yeah, and I think he's at that perfect age. He's 25 years old like that's kind of where you're getting your feet under you as a goalie and people that I'm in like he is so good at playing the puck like I think if you can find a way to have your group in the neutral zone get away for teams to dump the puck in like he's so good at handling the puck he can get you out of his own. So working with his strengths is going to be big for that team as well. Yeah, I think I think they got a chance. I don't think I think the bottom of the central's not great, the bottom of the Pacific is not great. They shouldn't be pick in top five again. And I think that, you know, if everything goes well and it's like, Hey, you know, we can we have these three first round picks to be cash one of them in at the deadline to kind of push us, you know, over the top to really chase that last wild card spot. It's also difficult to just restart the entire year knowing it's similar to Edmonton after the runs of the cup. And I don't know if you're hyping up some fight or what's going on, but there was two, three people at the arena separate occasions. They're like, hey, you can grab some retirement now. Does that mean you're gonna fight biz now? - I was gonna bring this up at first. At first I thought it was just like a little joke. And then another person said it and another, oh, I got a light going crazy right now. - No, it looks good. - The other person said, yeah, thanks. - That light was way near this fight too. - The smoke detector. - You're doing only fans paywall content now that you're retired, aren't you? - Yeah. - Stroblade. - Gotta make the buddy saw that, man. - He did talk about doing a rough and rowdy, but like if we did it, like I'm getting on crank, I'm getting on juice, I'm getting on, like I gotta be on war for when I come out, like I would have to be on everything. Jack, what? - Jack is three feet on, so would I. - Yeah, so would I, to be honest with you. - Okay, you're not gaining anything there, but this is just, this would be like a Russian street fight that's on some like creepy pay per view. I think that the first time I saw that was right when you retired a couple tweets came out where I believe you mentioned this one time biz. I'm going on and then for him to just do the retirement post, just punch in your head off your body. And I think you got Felino in one of those posts and he commented underneath. - Yeah, move, I know who said something. He actually commented on something and then deleted it. I want to know what he said 'cause it came up in my inbox. I said, deleted the comment or whatever it's that. I want to know what he said. I gotta give him a call. - The fight with biz and I was on the ice for that. I really think you could have beat him up a lot worse, but you threw him so hard on the ice. I remember I'm like, why is he so close to this guy? Like you threw him as hard as you possibly could. - I told this story on here before, but I was mad because he gave me the little kick behind the foot. Like he gave me like a little slew foot on the draw. That's what that's what 'cause I came out and hitches like, no, don't you dare go fight that guy as a guy or no problem. So I line up next to him and he's like, let's go. I was like, no, I can't hitch that. No, and he gave me the little kick behind the foot kick. - Oh my god, did that piss me off? - Oh my god, well that's all they were burning in there. - I was like, oh god, oh no, I bit off more than I can chew and then yeah, the rest was history. The fans were giving it to me in the past. - Oh, they had to, there was people coming down from the fucking top concourse and like, coming down to me and I, you piece of shit, you were a nut motherfucker. But buddy, what a rip. Like I think we've talked on this podcast before, how you were just happy to get 100 games and then to 200 games and then to just fall short of 1,000 but get over 900, like what a remarkable run dude. You got to be so gracious and the gratitude you must have for getting that big of a run in the league. - Oh, unbelievable. Honestly, I owe so much to this sport and I can't believe how far I came now. You know, having said that yeah, I'm a little rattled. I didn't get to a thousand being 38 ways. It's kind of the kick in the nuts, but you know, it's all what it is what it is. You know what I mean? I had a great running, that unbelievable people playing some great cities, you know, made some friends, you know, started a business, started a family. It just all that I couldn't have done without hockey. So the 38 games is in the back of the mind now. - That's the, yeah, that's the, that doesn't even really matter at all. I know what you're saying, but like what you did is just incredible, man. I'm so happy for you. And I was wondering because the day I retired was actually the middle of a game. I just called my dad right after. And I was very emotional, like it just really hit me. And I was wondering, did you go through something similar? Did it hit you hard when you really decided it? - Yeah, I mean, I, so I was, I was training hard. Like I was getting ready for another season. And just throughout the summer is like, oh, can you know, pull the hamstring and I was like, all right, at my age, am I going to recover from this? And then a week later, I was back. To get carted out of the gym, like, you, oh, like, what does that guy do? If that's a grade one, he should be bad. That should be a suspension. - The grade one thing has to be fake. Like he said that. I haven't seen that. - We're talking about Caleb Williams, everybody, who's not a football fan. - The Bears fan should be all over him for that 'cause they think their season's down the drain. And now they all can be, he could just miss a week. Like, what are we doing here? - No, it was, it was towel over the head crying. It was killing. - It was killing. - towel the head fist up crying. Like, that's crazy work for a pulled athlete. You can hobble your ass off the field. - But yeah, no, it, you know, so throughout the summer I'm working in, you know, little injury here. Set me back a week, little injury there. And I get on the ice and like, okay, I tweak my ankle. And I feel like just the last, the last month I'd be training and I'd come home and I just like, I'm trying to say, I just can't do it anymore, but my pride just wouldn't let me say it. I couldn't spit the words out. So, you know, I could get back in the gym. Then I have another good week in the gym. I was like, okay, no, I'm back. And then something else would happen. And I just felt like I was coming home every like two weeks and just trying to say it, but I couldn't say it. And then finally I came home one day. And it came out of my mouth. I was like, no, I'm done. And if the words came out, like I knew that it was time 'cause I would never say those words if I didn't mean it. And yeah, that was a tough day. The next day was the next couple day. - When you said it, was it to your wife? - Yeah, it was to my wife, yeah. - And she'd been here in all summer where you're kind of back and forth. - Yeah, so I think that had to be emotional. You and your wife, and it's like what you've been through together and just for her to hear, you say it. It's like, wow, this is it. - Yeah, well, actually like almost a month ago, I came home and I kind of says like I heard my aunt like I don't think I can do this anymore. And, you know, my wife was like, well, you know, still got a little time and then I called my brother. And he looked at me and he's like, go fuck yourself. Like, what are you doing? You have a month left, like give it all you got. And if it doesn't work in a month and so I went right back to gym and start training again. And I was, I was ready to go in for another month and then, you know, just, I just had nothing left. I tried sparring with the kid. I was skating with some of the night's guys. I just sparred with one of the kids out here. I couldn't hold on to him with my pinky. Now, and I just knew like if I ran into Olivier or one of these guys, I wouldn't be able to hold on. hold on to him and I'm not going to, I'm not going to go out just getting beat up my whole last year. It just wasn't worth it, worth it. Did like, did you make changes to your training at all to try to keep up with the speed of the game? Or was it just the fact that like your body is just kind of breaking down like that? I mean, but both my knees imploded my last year playing and I was 32, you know, you're older than that. So was it just a matter of your body just couldn't hold up to keep up to the pace of play? I think so. I think it was a lot of, you know, I changed my off-ice training a lot. It was a lot more sprints, you know, those 10-80s I really like to do. And you know, the hamstring injury happened on my third sprint on a 10-80 that I've been doing all summer and just pulled up and, you know, nagged me for almost two weeks. So that was, you know, those are important two weeks when you're 39 years old that you can't really be missing and, you know, couldn't do any, any speed training. Couldn't really, I could skate a little bit but couldn't do, you know, the sprints to keep up with the speed. And you know, I didn't want to go, I didn't want to, number one, I didn't want to take somebody else's contract, go to the, go to the trials and just be too slow and, you know, not be able to keep up and, you know, embarrass myself, take somebody else's job for no reason. So, yeah, it was just a culmination of a bunch of things that made, made the decision for me. Just like, you know, going back, I'm sure you've been reflecting the last couple of weeks, you know, just, I think of you and like these teams that you're on, like New York brings you in to protect Panare and Pittsburgh brings you in to protect Sydney Crosby. Obviously, last year, San Jose in, in Toronto with Matthews and all those young guys, like, how cool is it for you to get those phone calls and be like, I'm going to be the motherfucker that nobody fucks around with these guys and it's cousin me. Like, how cool is that? Hey, it was unbelievable. Like, you know, that was my job in staying Lewis, but I, I kind of was there from the beginning and then, you know, the penguins went back to bat and all of a sudden I get a call saying, you got traded to the penguins to Sydney and some protection, I was like, oh shit, the best play in the league needs me. Like, yeah, I'm, no problem. The only exciting to do that and then, you know, that year Vegas was first in the league or first in the West and, you know, trade me a trade deadline and, you know, that, I think that kind of boosted my confidence a little bit, you know, obviously my best years were in Vegas and saying Lewis here, but yeah, no, it was, it was an honor to, you know, to protect those guys and watch those guys do the thing on the ice for the little more, you know, a little bit taller. But yeah, I play with some cool guy, do I got to protect some some some really good players out there? But you got to play with Celebrini, like, the list goes on of unreal players, Matthews, Neelander, Mariner, like, buddy, you fucking, you got to touch it all, man, touch out every base. Yeah. No, it was, it was cool, and, you know, and I know, like, some pretty cool franchises across North America, you know, obviously, Toronto didn't work out the way I wanted to, but putting on that jersey was, was unbelievable. You know, that's one thing, me and my wife, I always saw it going, like being able to put on the Maple Leaf jersey was really cool and playing that original six team. Was that your team growing up? I, you know, what? I was, I was a jet span and then, but I was always a big Patrick Law fan, so I was a little bit Montreal. And then when he got traded to Colorado, I was obsessed with the avalanche. Okay. All right. My last one, Peg Jets, Dan was actually a Colorado versus the Jets, and then the Jets left that year. So there was no, no, there was no more Winnipeg to cheer for anyways. Well, they are old and moldy. Maybe they'll give you a call. If you cry, if we want to come on, are there any pictures of you with a Colorado avalanche but John was on? You could go there. No, you know, I just, I just had like the way I collected hockey cards. I had an NHL binder and a Colorado avalanche binder. That was kind of my, my thing, a couple jerseys too, a sackic, love sackic at Forsberg. Were there any guys like maybe at games five, six, seven hundred where, you know, maybe you weren't as confident that you could keep this thing going that really helped you like really like, you know, like, you know, was just a guy that you were able to lean on to like regain confidence or like, like love for the game again. Like does anyone stick out like that? I never really went through that until Toronto to be honest about, I've always been a pretty high confidence guy, even when, you know, not, not to play well. You know, I always knew I'd bounce back and my wife was, my wife and my brother were always those ones if I've had going through something tough, but, you know, I think in Toronto, it was a lot of a, that was kind of the one toughston I went through and then you know, you went through a toughston during the playoffs and you know, I ended up talking to him. So we kind of, we kind of helped each other out a lot there, but I've always pried myself on being confident in what I do and, you know, a bad game or a bad stretch of games isn't going to define, you know, who you are, what's going to happen going forward? So I didn't go through too many of those stints until kind of then. When you look back at your career, is there a year that stands out, not even necessarily like your best year to statistically, but a year where you're like, that was the most fun I ever had playing hockey? I mean, the, the playoff run in Vegas the first year when I got traded there, that, you know, that wasn't a full year, but that, that stretch was a lot of fun. And honestly, last year, you know, we didn't make the playoffs as the first year, first full year in my career that I hadn't been in the playoffs, but I had so much fun with those guys just watching, you know, Mac and, and will kind of grow up and do their thing on the ice and be able to protect them and watch out that organization kind of grew. Um, you know, that team was a lot of fun on the road. The many years was a lot of fun that I had a lot of good years, the, the early saying Lewis days, we had unbelievable crews. We were going out every single night and going to war the next morning, it was, it was unbelievable. I had so much fun everywhere I went. I remember talking to Sean Thornton when he retired and just like the longevity in, I, I think you played maybe two, two, three hundred more games and he did in the NHL, but I asked him like what, like how he was able to keep that at being a fighter and he was like, I never tried to be someone I wasn't like, I always knew I was going to be a fourth line player protecting my players because we've all played with guys who are fighters and they think they can be on the power play. They like, but he was like, I just stayed in my lane. I did my thing, protecting my guys. Was that kind of the way that you went about it? Uh, always, always. I remember I got traded to, uh, too many and they had a couple injuries and, uh, Dean Emerson called me into the room and he said he had to line up on the board and I was on the third line with, with Moose and the Ecky and I was, he's like, yeah, you see your playing. I was like, the little high. No, like you, you know, watch me play like I'm good where I am, but you don't need to move me up and down to the trade for me. But no, yeah, I mean, uh, when I was in Vegas, like I, I earned a little power play time. What? Oh, man. I was. I was up tall. I was PP2. No, I don't. I'll never have taught. I was PP2 for like two minds. I was nice on there too. Two points, I had the two talks to the coach. We had a bunch of injuries. They didn't run a two one, two. They ran a keep it away from a revolve. There was just jumping in my corner. Let me go get it to the point. I was right to the net every time. I scored my second game on it. Oh, tip. No, no, I got the, I went in the force that I got it to the point. I beat my guy back to the net, rebound, put it in. Oh, okay. All right. I sell it. I sell it that so hard too. And the break by the, the lies like that PP1 points. That's how you do it. Did you ever have two goals in a game? Twice. What? Yeah. Once in St. Louis. Once in New York. 66 talks is. That's not fucking. Yeah. 140 points. That's pretty bad. That's not bad. Yeah. Man. I'll take it. For where? For who? I am. I'll take that all day. Buddy. By the end. Like you. Well, what would he do to you to make it? He was a fucking craftville game. We went up to like Vernon, BC and they, this kid was like, fucking, I think he was still 17 years old. I think it was right after he'd gone first overall. And twice in the first period, I got cut out there against him and I was dashed to. I couldn't fucking believe what was happening out there. And then after the game, I got, I was it. I was set. I got sent down. I could. I do not belong in this league anymore once he stepped on the ice. I remember we were playing him and, you know, you see him like, I'm twice the size, right? And I had him lined up on the, on the blue line. And I went to hit him and he just like leaned into me with his edges and I've got stock. And I look up and I'm still at the blue line. He's at the far blue. And I'm trying to backtrack because I, hey, get me off here. But we were playing him. We were playing him last year in Edmonton and they were buzzing around his, oh, I'm like, buzzing buzzing. Oh, no. Yeah. I hemmed in. Oh, dude. I went right to the, right to the slot and I stood there and they were just going like this. And I was just, you know, I'm just going to stay in the house. I ended up blocking a shot this slot, the puck went around and, and McDavid's coming around the net. And I just jumped out of my, I got in my position. I kind of caught a little bit of him behind the net and that he went to pass it. The puck went off my skate and into the mess. So at a block shot, I hit on Connor and the puck went out. Boy, the boys were sick tapping. I went off the puck and right for him. Oh, baby. Good news. The whole batch. You can't even breathe. Okay. Was he a try to breathe? I was trying to get off. He's got a gateway towel on his stick. Oh god. Too many men. Too many men. I've seen just going the bomb to, you know, just call penalty. The boy will kill it off for it. McDavid. It was absolutely insane I couldn't imagine what it would be like to get caught out with with Leon and Connor There yet when when he he ended my career at the craft fill. Yeah, yeah, so we were I was talking to patch for the game and we were talking about like how to defend my car at the point And he's like you got to race out at him. You got to you got to go fast and just kind of close time in space I go man, you cannot do that. I was like you just got to play goalie and hope he gets rid of the puck Yeah, first shift goes race it out against the car. We're car going to It's an edge of these skids all the way to the red ball. Oh I've seen that clip that's like what everyone puts from a car like he boasts a tire That's just skidding to the red line. I'm dying on the bench. He comes back. I was never never nervous going into fights still I think if I was nervous going to fights. I would have gone into room to hey You know, I just don't have it anymore. So a lot like last year. I was fine You know, obviously I got knocked out by Olivier but Might have rattled my confidence for a couple days, but you know Going back I'm just like you know, fuck everybody everybody gets caught at some point it took 16 years to catch me So, you know, I'm fine with that and I I would have I would have loved to get one more against him I think yeah, I think it broke my pinky The week before we played them again But yeah, I would I would have liked one more rematch before that that ended, but yeah, I would say Olivier Still not sold on Jack I yet, you know, McDermott when he's in the lineup. He's obviously a big boy hard to deal with Deloria I would say those are kinds of guys now you know now Wilson can maybe sneak into one of those top guys all four. It's more skilled, but it's it's dumber And like is that something that you almost noticed like playmaking wasn't what it was when you came in Well, he got to play with Celebrini and like yeah, I think it's dumber in the sense that Guys just kind of fly around with no thought of repercussion right that you're you're skiing through the middle Dice with your headberry trying to cold drag and flip it over guy and kick it to your skate and you just think you're not gonna get touched and Yeah, I mean it does work because the league has got softer, but at the same time like keep your fucking head up Because you can you can get dropped pretty quick and But I don't think it's less skill. I think it's I think it's a much more skilled and back. I think the skill is just changed, right? It's faster Um, you know guys are just much better skaters. They're You know, they're stick handling is faster. I don't it's weird coming from Kucherov because Kucherov's like slows the game down to his pace Right. Yeah, everything looks like it looks like he's in one of those videos where Everything's sped up around him and he's kind of just going normal speed and everything's like blurry around So it's funny here and it come from him. We're in Vegas right now. We're staying in Vegas, and then we're gonna decide Yeah, we're to set up shop for good after that because we've been down for a while. We live there too now. No he He was always doing then yeah, he moved back to many what is it is it for certain that you won't end up staying in Vegas long term No, no right right now. It's looking like Vegas or St. Louis St. Louis just has that thing man where guys play there And everyone either stays retires there lives there where they go back You know I'm not you that's the big thing for me is in Vegas There's you know Derek England's the only guy who's retired here. So I know during the year how busy you know the guys who are playing gonna get right like It's hard to find time for guys who are retired let alone you know friends that you have you want to be with the boys You're on the road you gotta be with your family and I get that so I don't expect to see a lot of the nights guys this year I'd love to see some of them, but I don't expect it Um in St. Louis we have so many friends that are retired and I we've always said we want to be around Old hockey players, right? I mean they they're cut from the same cloth I just I want to be around that for the rest of my life and there's just a lot in St. Louis So that's kind of the the draw there and for people who don't know St. Louis has figured it out to the point where they have the locker room for the alumni So it's almost like you could do a couple mornings at a week Where you're going with the boys you're having coffee and it really feels similar to when you were playing Well, I was just talking to steamer a couple days ago, and he said they skate three times a week Yeah, awesome Yeah, they got ice time three times a week they go for you know lunch couple beers with a bunch of golf courses out there Like that's kind of what I need to show many guys And why do you think all these kids are coming from St. Louis and making it to the NHLs? Cause these guys are sticking around maybe helping coach and just being a presence. So yeah, they've got to figure it out unbelievable. Yeah, absolutely. Revo with Halloween around the corner, you were a big costume guy, always went all out. What was your favorite all time costume as, you know, yourself and your wife or as another teammate? Oh, man, we went, uh, we went white chicks one year and it was, I got it, I got to send you the thing. It was almost to a tee, what, what they looked like in the movie. I was carrying around this Louis Vuitton bag with a fake food all over there. I'd be walking through that. Well, it was so fucking good. That's crazy. Yeah, we did, uh, we did Dumb and Dumber one year too. I ended up ending up ending up at the hospital. So I, I set this whole thing up. I rented out, uh, uh, did you like a haunted house in these trailers in Vegas? I rented out this haunted house and put a tent in the middle, got a DJ, budget kegs, bar or whatever. And I brought this guy to make pizza and I'm, I walk up to, I was like, Hey, can I, is there any peanuts or pine nuts or any of these? He's like, no, no, you're all good. So I take a bite and I look at it and there's a green in the middle of it. I was like, is there, is that Pesto? He's like, yeah, is Pesto. So I was like, well, there's pine nuts in Pesto. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. So I was like, well, fuck, man, I'm definitely allergic to, like, I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm like Dumb and Dumber. Like, I'm not. I'm, I'm white face Dumb and Dumber too. So we go the, we go to the hospital, we go to the hospital. And I walk in, and like, I got the tooth blacked out and everything. I got PD them the birds sticking out of my vest. And we're in like the, you know, the, the suits that, with the top hat, like, so, like, the past all, yeah, yeah. So I walk in and it's like, hey, listen, I'm, I'm having allergic reactions. And she's like, well, you seem fine. I was like, I know, but I just had it like five minutes later, right? Yeah. So I get in there. And I was like, listen, this is going to go south pretty quick because they're like, well, sir, you seem fine. He's like, could you been drinking? He's like, yeah, damn, right? I have. He's like, well, I think you're just panicking. I was like, listen, I'm panicking because I know it's going to happen in 45 minutes. It kind of almost seems like a good mixture of both of those organizations. Yeah. I mean, Florida, I feel like was up and coming when we were there together. You know, you could tell that, you know, the team was going to be great. They were obviously going to go on to do great things. And it's probably, it's probably blown up there since, since I lost. So I'm sure that the market's going a bit bit more crazy. And, you know, kids are probably the youth hockey. I mean, you've probably seen it now. Yeah. It's probably pretty crazy in Florida. And I think the same things kind of happening in Utah right now. I think, you know, Ryan's done a great job with the community and all the kids getting into the Utah key here. Which has been great to see. And I think, you know, it's kind of where we were in Florida. It's kind of the same right now in Utah again. So I want to be part of the great years here and have things blow up here and, you know, bring cups here and do all that fun stuff. But, you know, it was definitely different from Calgary. Calgary was, you know, the media and what, not the Canadian city. I absolutely love it. I think it's great to have more media involved. And just a spotlight, I think, enhances everything when you're playing there. So it's been, it's been growing a lot here in Utah. And it's, you know, the media here treats you well. You know, they're great people. You want to make friends with everybody, you know, I feel like the tighter you are with them, you know, the better they treat you so, you know, it's been great. Have you met any swingers yet? There's a lot of swingers there. I'm fucking serious. I've not met any swingers yet, but I feel like, you know, maybe some of the younger kids, they got some good stories, I think. I want to know. There's more swingers in Utah than anywhere else. I've talked to people who have been like proposition three or four times there within like the first year of being there. It's crazy. I haven't been proposition that many times in my life. Yeah. You know, the first, obviously, the first time I went there, I had the comments in the media and, you know, saying the new arena. But once I started playing there, actually grew to love this Saddle dome. Like it was, it was an unbelievable place to play. It's got that, you know, that culture inside of it. It's where all the legends played like Lanny, you know, Jerome Connie. So I think, you know, for the last season there, I think they're going to, you know, hopefully they do some some fun things and maybe sell the chairs, you know, how they usually do that with the form back in the day and whatnot. But I think those boys are due for a good arena, man. Like they, they've grinded, you know, the facilities getting a little, you know, warring out and stuff like that. So I'm happy that, you know, they're getting any arena in the facilities. They're going to be great. We keep our going to want to play there. It kind of blew up afterwards. And which is, and then literally like, I want to say like five days later, maybe a week later, the owner called me and he was like, so I heard you want a new arena. And I was like, oh, yeah. Like I was so nervous. I was like, he's like, well, I have a proposition for you. He's like, he's like, I'll get a new arena for you. We'll call it the week, the week or the home or something like that. But you know, I take your time chapter way. And I was like, oh, I was like, I think I'll talk to my agent about that or something like that. You just, he was good. He was like joking, but I was so nervous. No, he wasn't. He was announcing his dominance over you right there. Oh, yeah. Oh, he's true. Yeah. He's he slapped his partner on the table. Yeah, dog collar. They were those for next camp. You little bitch. Yeah, yeah. It was funny nonetheless. I told my buddies after it. So crazy. You saw. So in a couple of weeks, it'll be four years ago, since you signed that deal eight years, 50 million. Now, buddy, you making six point two in the league. Now it's a league minimum. It's fucking legal. Many for fucking weeks. I'd only play the games. I know that I can't believe the deals that are, you know, fine around. I think it's great for the league. Obviously, you know, McCarr getting 20 sheets is like, I never would have thought that, you know, like in our, in our day, but it needs that the league's going in the right place, the right direction. And, you know, I think it's credit for, you know, you guys, the social media stuff, like everything that's kind of blown up around the, you know, everywhere, you know, worldwide, almost the global series stuff. And I think we've just done a great job at like marketing the game right now. I think playoffs are great. You know, people still love the fighting. I think just compared to the other leagues, I feel like we're just the most exciting, you know, sport to watch. You know, the most things happening got superstars 1L. You know, there's just so many things happening all the time in hockey. You know, and the league is just in a great place. And I think that it really helped with the cap. I was gonna go back to like your situations and being traded so obviously the other one And from when you went to Florida to Calgary, it was in the off season and it probably sucked because that team was trending in the right direction. So all of a sudden you go from this team that's cup ready to, you know, Calgary was a bit of a rebuild, but in this situation last year, now instead of the off season, you get traded into the midst of the season and you're going to a competitor and a very, very good team that's on the rise. So I guess like what's it like being traded in the middle of the season compared to the off season and what's it like kind of going to one that's kind of ready to contend and win now? Yeah, um, it was weird like the, when I got the call from Zito in the summertime, I was up with my sister and my mom on like a, a bit of like a spa retreat up in Mochrom Blonde. I was just sitting on a rock and he called me and he was just like, yeah, um, you know, you've been traded. I was like, okay, like it happened so fast I was like, can I tell anybody? And he was like, ah, it's coming out in like two minutes, so you might want to just call your, you know, your parents or something. I was like, okay, um, so that happened so fast and I actually like pulled my eyes out. Like I, I was so like caught off guard. I was just bawling. I remember like with my mom, my sister, I just, it caught me so off guard that I just like, I just, it's just for social. I was young too and I love Florida and the boys and, um, so that one kind of hit me harder than the one in Calgary. The Calgary one was, I don't want to say it was like three meditated, but it was almost like, you know, the media was talking about, you know, the older guys moving on and they want to get into a rebuild and so you kind of had a bit of a sense that, you know, it might might happen and then, you know, deeper equipment guy just pulled me aside and he was like, Connie wants to see and I was like, oh, yeah, all right, well, they probably have something on the table and then I went up there and it was tough with Calgary just because I all another place that I love to play and I love the guys and I was an older guy with, you know, young guys that you want to help out. They're so tight with the community and whatnot and I think in that moment, you kind of think about, you know, your, your own future and, you know, what Utah has here and, you know, the team that they're building here and I was like, you know, at first, you're like, ah, you know, I don't want to leave the guys and then I want to say when you accept the trade, you know, you kind of go through this like, no, period, you're just like, you're not really sure about it, but then the guys reach out and they're, you know, they're so happy to have you and then I came here and, you know, my first game was in Columbus. And I was like, man, this team is like unbelievable. They just snapped a puck around the skill. But, you know, I was just like, okay, here we go. Like, I got a serious chance, you know, to win a cop and go on some runs here and, you know, for my career, I just, there was such a great decision and I'm glad that, you know, my, my uncle, my agent and everybody just help me making the right decision here. So I have no regrets and I'm happy where I am and the team is in a great spot and we want to do some special things. So you had no inkling that it was going to be Utah when you got called into the office. No, I, you know what? There was some other teams floating around that I thought no trade. Yeah. I had no trade. Full no trade or just like list of teams. Full no trade. The trainer has got him now. Okay. So you could have been like, no, I'm all sad. Yeah. Yeah. It's actually up after this year and then it goes down. So, you know, um, but yeah, I had no idea. There was some other teams floating around, um, I don't know. I don't want to say particularly the teams, but, um, I thought that I was going to go there. I think auto is always kind of in the mix. I think that, uh, I just don't think it was on time. It's time to go back to Ottawa personally for myself, but, um, yeah, Utah presented itself and, you know, Bill and, and both, you know, Smitty called me and when I spoke to them, I mean, Ryan Smith is just, he's the man, um, there was like a no brainer after you called me out. I was like, this is the best owner. Um, he's literally offering everything. He gives you everything you need. He's the most generous guy. Um, yeah. So it was easy decision and, um, for myself personally, yeah. I kind of wanted to go back to, you know, the beginning of your career, and even when you were younger, um, you know, you, you have a different story, late draft, you know, late draft pick, uh, you know, a little bit of a misfit growing up and just kind of, it's kind of making it make stealing Drew's cars or something. That was, that was his crew. That was his crew. That was where my boys, they got a ranger over what's, what's up with that? Like, I don't know what to do over that. Yeah. Clothes great. I don't know why his cars keep getting stolen. He lives in a good neighborhood. Neighborhood too. I'm like, you need a gate or something like I don't get it. Clothes so funny. Going back to the Florida days, like just kind of the misfit story just, yeah, this, I feel like the seventh round pick and whatnot. I feel like it was just a good opportunity in Florida. We were just, you know, I feel like it was just buddies getting buddies like it was like, you guys were great, like the older guys, he ends like you and Lou and Derek McKenzie and those guys were, and then I had Ackie and Hubey and Barkey, like we had such a good group that I, I, I just didn't want to go to the A anymore. I was just like, I just want to be up with those guys. Like, those are my buddies up there. I got to find a way and it was crazy time zone for it. A member Tom Role came in and, yeah, I had him in San Antonio that. Yeah. It was. Yeah. Tom Role, Tom Role, he had these young guys on edge and he fucked, it was crazy. Yeah. I actually, I liked Tom, but I swear to God, he was bipolar, like he would be just so happy and in a great mood. And then the next second, he's screaming at me to clean up the hair that after I shaved in the sink was still in the sink when I was out in the sink. No, my neck, my neck, all your neck, your neck. Get the fuck down here and get the hair on a fucking sink. What do you do with them? No, it's in the locker room and like I shaved and then I put the sink on and maybe some hair was still there and I'm scratched and I'm in the minors and I want to fucking jump off the top of the building. And then I'm like, cleaning off with a sponge, Tom Role in my face as I'm shaving my neck. Spitting in your face, just yelling at you. But next thing you know, he was, he was like running the campers. It just happened so like, it's weird. Yeah. I've played my first few games at the end of the season that year and he was like the coach NGM there was, I don't know, it was weird. But the next year I think Dale came back in and Dale was great. I love Dale, a funny story. Remember that time and a bunch of yams when we were in a bunch of, I was like a morning state or something before a game and he ends up like, Dale wants to see you. And I was like, oh my god, I was like, I was like, I was like, really? And he's like, guys, he wants to see you. Like he's pretty pissed or something. I was like, oh my god. I was like, okay. So I go to Dale sweating, hey, I was freaking out on my, hey, Dale, I was like, are you serious? So you gotta be like, fuck kidding me like, you know, you don't appreciate this league. Like, I know what you were doing last night. I was like, I wasn't doing anything. I was like, ah, fuck you, I've got you, eh? He's like, I just made you sweat. I was like, laughing at my face. I was like, what is going on? Oh, I thought it was you, yeah, it was Dale. It was both of us. Yeah, both of them. Yeah. He sent them to Dale. Yeah. And then I went back and he ends laughing. He was laughing the corner. I was like, this is, yeah, and honestly, fuck with me, probably, I want to say 10 times that year. Oh, he's the worst. He's the worst. That's the leak in your ceiling. So I had him like video and recording you too. Like, hey, can you go and look at the right side of the roof and see if there's a hole. So he's up there in a ladder looking at it. They were like, all right, I got the, I got the roof or coming in. But the only thing is is he lives like four hours away. So he's going to have to stay with you for a couple of days. And Wigs calls me. He's like, dude, this fucking guy wants to have his roof or stay with me. Why? And I'm like, just let it happen. I'm sure he'll be a good guy. He's like, the fuck? How does this shit always happen to me? I'm like, I want my house. It was a magna take a magna. Yeah. Yeah. He was playing in San Jose or somewhere. Maybe. Yeah. Oh man. He bought like a pre-fab. What was it like playing your first year in the NHL and Yarmher, Yoggers on the team and plays a full 82. - No, I wasn't there that year. You're actually, I was, yeah, I know that I was three, that was like, I played three. Oh, you were there for three games. Yeah, I was a lemon stat. He was like, he was for three games, three games. There's a little stint cup of coffee there. Um, that he was, I feel like when you were a young guy, if you weren't really on the team, he wouldn't really talk, talk to you much. You were, you were, you were sitting up front and he didn't even really know you were there. I would just look at a mesmerized, oh, I'll go on the plane. I was like, and he'd have like a double bay, probably cash and whatever in there. What, what not? He was, he was good though. I think the boys got you like the Mayans. Oh, I love him. Yeah, he probably had some good stuff. I didn't really know all know when the coach would be at the board. Would he just be skating around not paying attention yet? Yeah. Yeah, he'd be down the other end. If like, even if we were doing like, you know how you do it inside the blue, like two on two or three on three, he would just down, be down the other end doing his own thing. It was absolutely comedy. Yeah, with this bucket off for the earth, you know, a chin shop undone or a pepper and a chin shop undone and weights on his feet. Yeah. He had two stalls, two hockey bags. Like, you know, it was, yeah, oh, that's when I think it, like he grabbed. He took barcov under his wing and then they had to tell barcov. They had no more because he was bringing them to the rink at like 10 a night, wasn't it? Yeah. And then Barkey had like back problems. He was like 20 years old. They were like, hey, dude, get away from yoggs. He's built a little different and he's got the ankle weights on. The legend that I played with there was Jumbo the last year and four. Oh my God. His last season. He was kind of on white whale right now, weeks. He's kind of like white whale, I'd say I could see you and him just laughing all the time, too. He was honestly all time. Like, he would play poker, but he'd be so distracted because he wanted to talk to everybody that we'd have to wait on the game for so long just because he'd be up at the front trip and somebody then be going fine in the back, laughing with somebody else. But I feel like he kind of made that team like, I know we got traded. I think the next year, but he, I think he made that team. He brought that culture in. I know, you know, Kachak and why not came in and they won Cubs. But I think Jumbo really helped with Barkey and, um, Akki and those, those other guys had stayed to really just, just care, like, just to love the game, like the way that he did and show those guys that, you know, don't take everything so, so serious, you know, like all the time and especially and play off and play off and stuff. I Jumbo is just so good out around. I mean, I got everybody knows what, what kind of guy that he is and why not? But we had some funny times, man. He was that guy, you would just be laughing and his beard would just be shaking. And I, he was the best team in it. He was all time. So you're another example of a guy and we've heard it of, of saying nobody loves being around the boys more than Jumbo. Yeah. Like he, like he would just be with the boys all the time. Like no matter what, he'd want to go out with the guys. Um, I remember the 40, right at this time. Yeah, yeah, literally four, maybe 41 or two. I don't, he was older, yeah. But we went up to the keys. We brought Akki's boat. We took Akki's boat all the way from Fort Lauderdale and we drove it to the keys. I have a great photo of me Jumbo and Akki on the back of the boat. And Jumbo's beard just like flowing in the back. And he's like, his eyes are shot. And he's just tanning. So I was just like looking beside. I'm just looking at this guy like, wow. Like his beard is just falling. I was like, this guy's God. And we just like, we went there, spent a couple days there. He don't, he was, he was the driver. He just drove us around. Not the boys have fun. And we just, it was like the first kind of group team bonding thing that we did. And it was like right from there, we just, we, we won the presence cop that year. Like we couldn't lose. And we just had, we just had a boss. Jumbo made it so much better for us. I'm wondering because I'm looking going back to you. As he answered mentioned, as like a young kid, he mentioned like late bloomer based on, you know, you see the stats like playing double A at one point. Like when did things take off for you? And how did you, you're from Ottawa? How did you play in the Quebec League? I guess things kind of took off for me. I played when I was 16. I played junior B, which was another like great year just because I got to play with guys that were like 21, just kind of having it. Like everything for me is just like having fun. If I feel like I'm just comfortable having fun, not really thinking about the game. As much like less stress, I just, I feel like it takes off. I played much, much better. And then played junior A, we won the league that year. And then I got passed up in the OHL. So then I actually claim to fame is that I was picked first over all in the waiver draft. Let's go. Yeah, by by Rue and Miranda. And then Rue and Miranda traded me to Halifax for like a night round pick or something like that. So and then I stepped in the Halifax. Our team was unbelievable. We had Nikin in there. Drew A, Marty, Marty, for we were unreal. So all these scouts were there all the time watching those guys. And I think I obviously afford a scout little guy Paul Gallagher from Cape Breton just took a liking to me and picked me for, you know, in the draft. And then, you know, just it take like, like Ian said, it just, I needed some time to develop down the A. Obviously some things to learn a little bit. But yeah, just when I got my chance, I feel like you got to kind of take the opportunity and seize it. But it took me some time, the late bloomer, I feel like nowadays, you know, these kids kind of just got games guaranteed to them, you know, some of them. But the development down in the A is just, I feel like it's so crucial for these young kids. You know, it's okay to go down there for a couple of years and grind it. You just learn so much. And by the time, by the time I got up and got my opportunity, I feel like I was already ready. Obviously, there was obviously some more things to learn when I got off to the NHL. But like for hockey, you know, on, on ice stuff, I feel like I was just more ready. And they did a great job developing me down in the, down in the air. You even played in the coast. And since an Audi 21 games, it's kind of a sneaky good city, too, right? Awesome place to play. Yeah, they sent me down there to like smarten up a bed. But it was almost like more fun down. I was like, you're sending me more stuff here. I was like, this isn't working. So they brought me back up and we made it, we made it work. But since he's a great city, I actually still cheer for the Bangalos. Bangalos are my NFL team. It was like the first team that I NFL game that I got to go to the reds play there. And then you guys kind of share some of the facilities within the locker room. So there's a lot of interaction with the basketball guys. Is there not this is Utah Utah? Yeah, Utah. Not yet, not yet. It's going to be like that, though, because they're still working on their, they're still building their practice facility right now. Um, so I thought like that when I saw the main rink at Delta, they kind of had it like, uh, actual game rink. Yeah, yeah, yeah. They're attached. But they're never there at the same time. They're never there. So we don't see them much. Oh, okay. I thought we, yeah, we do use their like steam room and sauna after the games. Like, well, we're not like allowed to like really go into their locker room or whatever. But we do share. Yeah, they're, they're actually around split a bit that we'll do like the other day. We went to like a college football game and they brought. a few of us and like I want to say like six of them. So we're always like if we're doing like a something out in the community like they'll usually take a few of their guys and a few of our guys and we'll meet up and hang out. They're great guys. They'll seem, they're huge. Like they're, you know, yeah, they're great. You just like stand by them. You're like, oh, the college game you went to is that where the outdoor game is going to be played this year. That's going to be out again. It's Colorado. Have you ever played one? I did the hardest classic, um, the Battle of Alberta in Edmonton, which is awesome. There's a tree. But this one I think is going to day. Yeah, I was cold. Well, we had the heat warmers. This is going to be great because the weather here will be probably perfect and the the backdrop of the mountains and stuff. Like when I went to the game, I, I was like looking around me and like, man, like there's 50,000 people. It's going to be way bigger. And the, I say, just based on like the field, like the fans will be a lot closer, I think to the ranked and how normal outdoor classics are, you know, how some like baseball fields and stuff are so far away for the fans. Anywhere you want to see mountains, it's stunning. And yeah, like last year, although it was pretty sick. It was a bad game. They did it at Miami, Marlon Stadium. Big body kind of does it all. Um, he loves poker. So we get along well. Like he's obsessed with poker. Like I'm pretty sure he's having the guys over at it to play poker. Um, he got chickens running around in his backyard. He loves chickens. Yeah, I think I saw on Instagram or something. He's got the fashion loves his fashion. Like he's got like, I, which I, I think is great. Like you just kind of wears, you know, whatever he's feeling, he's comfortable just with doing whatever doesn't care what anybody else has to say, which is great. Um, but yeah, he's fun to play with. One of those guys that's just he come to the rink in the morning. He's like, ah, you know, it's another, another day in the NHL. It's going to be easy. You know, I'm going to go rip like bar down, you know, pop like you be just he's launched a lot. Um, but when I first got over here traded here was kind of one of those meetings where I was like, like, how is this going to go? Like, Hey, how are you doing? Like, are we good here? Um, but yeah, it was easy. Um, but he's easy to play. Oh, it's forcing that I'm playing with him. Obviously, like lots of minutes if you're with him. And um, I just want to make it easy for him and keep that keep that partnership going and keep me going to be a little longer playing with him. Look, looking at the roster, like, I think it's a, it's an exciting year, like making the playoffs and now what's going on there? You guys have a very good team. And for, I'd say hardcore hockey fans know, but maybe the fringe Logan Cooley is like on a box office, right? Like, and obviously Clayton Keller people realize, but this Cooley kid is, he's so fast, dynamic, like even skate with him and camp right now, it must be pretty evident how good he's going to be. Yeah. Yeah. I always like look at my jersey, like in practice. I'm like, if I'm in a white, I look over to see like what jersey he's wearing. I'm like, this being the same color as me in the same color. Yeah, like, I don't want to go against here today. He's unbelievable though. And he's such a good kid. He's hilarious. Um, he's like, he's jacked. Like, he's got massive back and like these big arms like long, he's wide. Yeah, he's huge. I know Trot Trot just talked about him a lot just because they're from Pittsburgh. Like, I think they don't know. Like he's kind of taken him under his wing, but I mean, just in camp right now, every time he's got the puck, something something's happening with it. Like he's taking it to the net himself. He's ditching it. Um, he's got vision. Our power plays, like they snap this puck around, like you're just in the spin cycle goes from cools to Keller to surging to gunner for a one T, you know, oh, fuck, he's got a like he shoots a baby is that guy staying and so our our team is incredible. Like Gunner and Cooley, like are the two guys that I feel like for the the hardcore fans, like you said, know them, but for the kind of the outside fans, like they're going to be, you're going to see a lot more of these guys, you know, gunner and Cooley's for sure. When Bedard came out, but I think it was Bedard was talking about Gunther's release. I was like, oh, all right. Like, that was when I was training with him in the summer. Yes. Yes. Yeah. And you both wait. You see this guy's release and you saw it even in playoffs last year. There was a few times that against Anaheim and then who'd you guys play round one? Vegas. They scored with the goalie pulled, right? And then they tied the series up. I thought you guys were going to win that series. I know. Just I think to take the next step is closing those games out just because we were I thought we were in full control like we. And I think like us as a team like knowing that we were in full control, like is a huge confidence booster for us, but it's just that next step where it's just like, you know, like that Vegas still, you know, we're calm and they weren't, you know, like we want that calmness and like that discipline that they had like they never, they probably never thought that they were out of the series, you know, like they were. So we kind of want to take that and mature as a team using kind of what Vegas kind of has with their team. So I think we learned a lot from that series for sure. I was seeing I saw a clip of of cools with he's fucking nasty at tennis too. So his conditioning like you see he's got like a tennis coach and everything. So as far as all around athlete, this guy is just an absolute machine off the ice. I didn't know he played tennis. I'll have to ask him about that. Oh, yeah, I was watching this is a biz lie. Because Vamelka has been great, but if you get that one, two punch, then you're laughing. Yeah. Yeah, I think I think that I guess the big emphasis was just veggie played a lot of games last year. So they probably just want to, you know, little less, make sure he's fresh for, you know, hopefully play off time and whatnot, but coast has been great. I mean, what, right when I came in, he was, I came in a little early. He was already here. So we just got to chat a little bit and talk and he was, he was all fired up for this, this opportunity. I think he was, I think the Detroit thing, like he was ready for the opportunity and I'm not sure what happened there. But he's, he's obviously going to get his chance here and he's looked great in training camp so far. He seems like as normal as a boy, as you can kind of get in a sense. So he's, he's outgoing, he chats with the boys. I think him and Vege will get along great. You kind of want those guys to obviously compete against each other, but obviously have a great relationship. So it seems like they're great. Our goalie coach, Schwabi, he's an awesome guy. He's a great dude. So I think I think he's got those guys here at all. Obviously it's it's hard to tell in train camp and in praxis with goles and whatnot But I'm sure when we get into some exhibition games and games. We'll see the true co-sund, you know, what what Detroit Miss Della's, huh? I was um, I feel like Andre tourney is like the the least known coach. Sorry. You got to go French accent on that one tourney Uh, he's probably the least known coach in the NHL But talk about a guy who has so much respect from the players like I know like donor was helping out with them Yands when he was in in Arizona and he like couldn't say enough positive things just about how he treats the guys How he respects them and like knows when they push the right buttons on what to demand so what was your experience like for the 20 games and then playoff Yeah, and then now in training camp. Yeah, I've actually known Andre for a while. He was a coach is 67 67 so is his son We're coming into my gym and I met him there and then I went to worlds and how do I met worlds? Um, so that when you did it up. Yeah, we did ball together, and I think that's kind of what made our relationship But I'm sure he was kind of pushing for the trade as well just based on you know what we had in the past But he's the then I got to see him like actually with like the club team and and what he's like and he just gets it Um, yeah, I think he might be like second longer long as tendered coach and NHL, right? Crazy or something. So the boys really respect them Um, I think his master thing is great. His accident like the way that he The way that he coaches is perfect for this team like with pace and speed and Yeah, emphasis on the D zone like we have a lot of skill and speed But we still need to defend that time as well, and he's got those guys, you know, kels and cools and gonna really Locked in on the D zone, you know, and so they can play more like more in the old zone and his master is great I you know the one thing I took away from last year and and playoffs just like at the end when we did lose to Vegas Just his message actually game. It was really hard felt me personal and a little bit emotional and I feel like as a player You really want to see that from your coach. Just you know, he's in it with you, you know, it's not that Disconnect from player post like he's he really wants to do well I think he is messaging and whatnot for the playoffs were great and he's excited for for this year He's he's hard to like he'll let you know. He's got you know what he's feeling He's got that you know that French accent and he's not afraid to yeah to to communicate with you if you're not you know Pulling your weight and we've got a competitive team, you know, and it's a deep team and you got to earn your spot And you got to earn your role and he'll let you know if you know if you're not you know pulling on the same rope as the boys And you kind of need that right now. We're in that we're in that time as a team where it's it's due like we're in that Do or die or kind of situation and? So I'm I'm happy with bear. I think he's a great coach. Like he said You know don't probably say great things and I think all the boys would say the same thing, you know, he's a great guy to have Coaching it wigs you with the parody of the league and especially your division how tough it is and you know two extra games this year Like how important is it and have you guys talked about just coming out and having a good start because there's no more like getting your feet wet And you know not getting wins under your belt for a while. Is there emphasis on that going into the year with your coach? Yeah, it's I think it's crucial. I think we've talked about it even with though I'm strong and Bill actually I think he did some rounds this year just coming to visit some guys He came to Ottawa and we had breakfast together I think he went out to see Johnny Merino in Boston in schools in Pittsburgh just making sure the boys, you know We're ready to go here off the hop because like you said there's the training camp is so short and I Feel like the start is just any I mean any season. It's super important But especially this year just because I feel like you don't want to be that team that's still kind of caught me You know the sleepy mode just because you haven't had you know the eight exhibition games You know and like in our division too. You got Dallas and Colorado and Minnesota Like it's a tough division. So It's it's deep, but I feel like just based on what I've seen and how the boys are feeling I think we're we're gonna be ready to go off the hop. Could you imagine this team adding Troach and then still having Josh Don I know that is just a nasty Rosser one guy we didn't mention and you talk about playing with that pace And I was curious to see if he was gonna sign there because the market I mean with the guys other than talk he probably would have been the next highest paid guy up front was a schmaltzi And he's so good at playing with that pace and obviously he's got the chemistry with Kels and and he's just such a good guy in the locker room. So it's just one of those things I appreciate his friendship more than more than anything. Like he's just the all time guy. He'd do anything for you. And then this high rock one is kind of become like a bit of like a bonding experience where, well, I think you can do it solo, but you could do it with teams. So it could be like unisex and you run a mile or a kilometer, do like rowing. And then you run a kilometer or a mile, and then you do like chin ups. And then, and I think you do like eight different individual miles and then eight different exercises in between. And it's kind of like a race. And it's like the new fat. I think the company was just valued at like 200 million, like, you know, from scratch. And it's like the thing that everybody's doing, you know, you go visit, oh, let's go do it in Boston. I ended up getting a last minute ticket. 14th row. Now, Russia's a band. I was familiar with growing up. I always appreciate their craft. Never saw them. Never, like, never really listened to them a lot. One of the best concerts I've ever seen in my life, man, like the fact that their drummer died, Neil Perth. I mean, one of like, it's like replacing Willie Mays. I'm not even exaggerating when you're talking and the realm of rock and roll drum is Neil Perth, like an average drum set. It was like times five, like, because the drums are such a sent, so essential to Russia's like sound. Like, and he died six years ago. They had to and they found this German woman, Annika Niles and she come in and to slide into like evolved, like, people's drum kit. Neil Perth, like essentially make it seamless and to play that well with two guys who are 73 years old, like, and I probably know what a third of the songs, it was absolutely incredible. Just a phenomenal show. If you can see them, if they come, why did you show no Canada? Because they're from there. They're kidding. And then I sent the, the, the article and so Dave put it in the, the paper for average, but not on on the blog. And of course, the headline said, I love you man, review it. It was the movie hadn't even come out yet. So he budgeted the headlines. So yeah, back in my attempts to get a little more movie talk on the bottle. So yeah, I would say, uh, just as crazy. If not crazy or Emily Armstrong, a woman who took over for the Lincoln Park singer in, in, oh yeah. Yeah. Which is pretty wild. Like to hit all the high notes. Chester Bennington. Uh, I think I would be surprised if Dallas got a division this year. I think art is going to have a strong season. Colorado doesn't need to go, you know, balls to the wall. Maybe quite like they, they, they typically do it. I wouldn't be surprised if Utah takes that third spot over Minnesota as well with the improvement they have done. The hockey is looks to be so much fun because it's still, like you said, they're going so hard. They care so much. But there's also like an aspect of like really enjoying college the way a kid at Minnesota like isn't going to. So what a way to keep playing for so many guys. I loved it.
