And one of my favorite golf courses in the world, Boston golf club, he gets an ace. He gets a friggin awesome. That should have been. You're right. I'm not going to say that's my ace. Now I had talked to the Boston golf pro who had said the day we were trying to golf. I think that was Friday when I went to the show. And we were, he's like, yeah, we can play here in the morning. But once again, I never heard from him. Um, he's a busy man. Unfortunately, I saw you to cancel a show. I think it might be goals reaching out to me or something. So as married guys who have children, when you get to go on that type of trip, is it, is there a little bit more duty when you come home? Is it kind of like, is there a little, especially with your kids are a little younger, right? So, it's a lot more on your partner's lap in more difficult years. What is the feeling when you get home? Bro, I got home to the driveway in monster like seven foot bubble letters. Welcome home dad in chalk giant hugs. Just love all over the household. Just love the entire time I was away. I just, I salute her and saluted her. I bowed down and I was like, now granted, here's a side factor. Why it was in Nantucket all week with my, with my mom. So that's why it is that he's the heart and soul of this household, right? Like it's, it makes things a lot better and it makes things a lot tougher. But, but overall, you know, you know, when he's not here, you just know more than anyone else. So I think that probably created a little, easiness, a little more easy. Writing the welcome home with the welcome home dad, giant words in there. And he's and he's girls are older. So that's not really an issue. Yeah. I slept yesterday from well, we had to go back. I flew to Boston with wit and then I had to go to Baltimore because my girls were here in Baltimore for a lacrosse term. And so I met them in Baltimore and last night I slept from nine to 1130. Oh, wow. Completely. Oh, cool. Like it was just such a grueling day of trip and then I had to drive two and a half hours today. So that was probably my punishment driving the two and a half hours to Delaware. And then we got another tournament this weekend coming up. And then tournaments are done for the summer. Busy boy. Oh, thank God. You grind the girls lacrosse. I mean, it's no different than the youth hockey madness. I know. You guys have had what 20 tournaments. This is at least at least years is during the winter. Yeah. Well, well, mine are, but plenty of kids writers age are all sort of too. It's crazy. And granted, you're outside during the tournaments. You know some dump rink in July. But uh, yeah, shout out our trip. Shout out, uh, Dan Cleary and Sean Horkoff. They put this thing together. We had a blast. Incredible time. The way Keith's, Keith started off the trip. I mean, he almost gave me god damn heart attack. Like we, we left. We had a nice meal at the airport. Took an ambient right because you have to sleep on the way over. You have to sleep on the way up. We were next to each other on the plane. He was asleep in seven seconds long. Yeah. Like me, like me and Detroit when you guys put me in the burrito in the hall. Exactly. Yes. Yeah. The ambient would hit my tongue. I'd be like done. And I was like, I thought we'd talk for like 30 minutes before we try to go to see he's done. So we land and, um, and we land about 45 minutes before Commodore, Horkoff, Cleary, uh, who, uh, Samson of have landed. We're all going to take the same bus to the hotel. So me and him are just sitting there grab a coffee. I'm reading the paper. Like papers like, you know, they hadn't played yet. England hadn't lost to Argentina at the paper. The first 10 pages are just soccer. So I loved it. It was like that you could tell the whole place is alive. So he went over to get a coffee and I'm just sitting there and all of a sudden he's, he's being escorted over to me with the fear of God in his eyes by a police officer with the machine gun. And he's like, dude, dude, dude. And, and the officer's like, this your friend? I'm like, yeah, he's like take his bag. He said, dude, he's saying he's going to cavity surgery. I'm like, what did you? And I'm panicked. I'm like, what all of a sudden this cop starts dying laughing. He's holding this gun. I'm surprised he just started shooting a couple rounds. I got you. I love it. I can't do an English accent. I love you boys. All these shit can't believe you're here. I was like, he was a shickled sky. He was a chicklets fan. I he he said he took the job at the airport. Because it gave him a longer commute. So that he could listen to the show on his commute. Fuck that. I swear to God. I wrote Luke Luke. I wrote Luke cop cavity search in my trip notes. So shout out, Luke, buddy. He's a great guy. He actually told me so you're first thought when he goes. Yeah, I'm a chicken guy. You're like, hey, let's fuck with wit. Well, I went to the I want to use the bathroom. And then he stopped me walking over it. And I was like, he's like, oh, can I grab a picture? And I go, oh, it's here too. Why don't we get a picture with him? And as we're walking over, I go, you know what? Let's just throw a little prank at him. I go pretend like you're going to arrest me. Like, have the gun go and say you're going to cavity search me and everything. And I had the look and he played it off. Like he was a professional. Yeah, he, oh, he this guy played it off. Like they played me like a fiddle, but kids acting skills. Like there was no, I didn't think you could have pulled that off without smoke, buddy. He was like that. You just went white and you, yeah, like one of those ones. Yes. It was like your acting ability to be honest with you. And it was an actor. And the best was what's his name was with us. Shanks was with us too. So he had, he barely even knew us. One of the guys who was a late ad to the trip. That was the hazy ad as opposed to hazy. Yes, yes. We're all. Why is we laughing so hard? We're all. This. I want to know all about him. Okay. I want to know all about it. I want to know what he had for breakfast. Yeah, Rose Sheller. Sheller's great guy. The fact he just called him Shanks. I had, so he's Shanks Sheller. Okay. Oh, he was shank on a golf trip. If you leave a golf trip and your nickname Shanks, you have the worst golf trip of your life. Yep. Okay. So this guy, no business. What happened to this guy on the last day? I was crying. I'm going to start crying now. Great guy. We meet him. He's the first to arrive. He comes up. He's like, "Hey, with Keith, I'm Darryl. I'm feeling, you know, I came, I'm like awesome. Awesome, dude. Very, very, very nice guy. And I believe he plays the three hand. No, no, there's no three. There's no MS. It's Justin Williams. I don't believe you. I believe he's a three-handy cop. I actually know he's a three-handy cop because he's Bertuzzi's buddy. He's birthed buddy and we had a great time. Now, he played the first day we play with him. Keith, he was great. He shot 77 like he was, and once again, great guy. But as the trip went on, and you know, they're drinking and he's kind of playing a little worse and worse and worse. So you get down to the final two rounds of the trip. We're playing, my mind you, he's the oldest there, too. And he's drinking like a Viking and-- Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, so you guys are talking about how much you're golfing and the fact that, yeah, as before we hopped on, he said that there was only one time you got to use carts in the last day. In the last day, and no legs. Hey, and then, and then no patties. This, we had, oh, yeah, we'll get into it. And once again, everyone, we'll get into the news. You know, carnabin are big contracts. Steve Eisner. And the Steve Eisner's story that comes back to the golf trip a little bit crazy. Yeah, there is. So we get to the last two rounds. The last two rounds. Sad, Friday's round is at this place, St. George's Hill. I think it was my favorite course. I loved it. That's Royal St. George's. That was different one. This place was sick. Now we did the golf guy. We did the trip championship on the final two rounds. So the lower money winners, the lowest money winners, 'cause you always try to make it so everyone pretty much wins the same amount of money. Like, that figure's out the draft order, the night before the trip championship. Then you have a partner and then you're playing two rounds and it's just stroke play with everyone's strokes and it's best score at the end of the two rounds winning. So Ray Whitney, he had, I think the second pick, right? - Or first. - First, the first. - He had first win. - He had first win. And yeah, and based on like, it doesn't even matter. You couldn't pick certain people. He could've taken Mike Commodore. Mike Commodore is a hell of a gather in the bagger. - Exactly. - Their chemistry's unmatched. - And Wizard hadn't played with Shank Seller yet, but he'd been told that Shank's was like a really good player. And you know, once again, his name wasn't Shank's yet. - He says he wasn't Shank's yet either. And once again, he is a good golfer. So great. And I hope I'm gonna be able to get to this story. So the first round, they shoot two under. They're in a great spot. - That's unreal. - Who was 300, somebody's in the lead. Oh, it was Nyquist and Mike Commodore. So Nyquist is the best golfer on the trip. He ends up with Commie and they're 300 after the first round, but Shank's and Wizard are, and he's not Shank's yet. They're two under. They're right in the mix, dude. They're paired together the last day in the final group. Okay. First all, Shank, second all. I think there was another shank. The third hole, he goes Shank, Shank, Sheller, Sheller. - He just lost it. - Buddy, listen, this is, I haven't got to the part that made me cry laughing. His phone is connected to the speaker to play the music. All right, so he's pumping out the tunes and he's in control. He's got the ox cord. And all of a sudden, the guys here, the music stop, Wizard hears the music stop. Wizard telling me this story, I would go back in time and wait. No, right. He YouTubeed out of fixed shanks. So all of a sudden. No, I'm over here. You, no, I'm over here reading. Don't kill myself, books. The bluetooth's like, you know, an unreal song dripping. Where are you hitting shanks on the course? Here's three tips to get you to hit the ball. - No, my God. - And that's when you know, and, and buddy, this poor guy. - That was hole three. - Where's the third hole? - That's a long round, buddy. And the whole, and the boys here in me, YouTube it. But, oh, man, yeah, great guy though. Great guy. - How was the last 14 holes? - I think God awful, I think he ended up saying he hit like 11 total. And I think he might have had four through three, so there was still seven more out there, right? Just, and what's funny is, on the range beforehand, I drove the card up and then I see him and boom. Just, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, this happened. I pulled the card up, I'm mixing my drink and I just look up and I see a hozzle rocket going 100 miles an hour dead right. I was like, whoa, dare all. No, little did I know that now when I see him, I'll just be like, oh, shanks, what's up, bro? But he kept me in like, I'm good at golf. I'm like, I know you are. I played with you first round. I saw you very good at golf, but I mean, haven't you just think that's fully mental? Or you think that's booze? And also like when you played six, it was 15. It was 15, I would have been toast. That's a lot of golf, man. We got better. No, Nyquist is always nasty. I won't, I don't mean call me cause he's a legit Viking. Yeah, call actually call me, how much homie got really good? Call me got call me the last two rounds was incredible. Yeah, and just built for long lasting events. I actually think wizard scored better every single round. When we were walking the one day we were walking, someone was like, Jesus Christ, call me looks like a Clydesdale. It's cause he's so big as hair, he's huge, he's enormous. And his hair when we went out the one night, but he has hair is down to here right now. Looks phenomenal, but it was like just out of the shower, maybe some products slick. And Keith, I was a five hours later outside of pub. You know, I mentioned how excited I was to have drinks outside the pub. And Keith goes, look at call me, buddy. His hair was fucking three feet out both sides. Side job, Bob, yeah. I think what did somebody ask him is that your natural hair color? But it was the one line is on that trip, man. Yeah a lot of stuff So I who are who are the other guys you guys mentioned some other guys last last time? Oh, you because you drew in Iserman or cough So that that news drops when he's on that trip Yeah, and and and Cleary works for the Red Rings - and I was right guys We didn't go on this trip for I think six or seven years because they've just been so busy and then like you know Hork's son was he was doing a ton with him and now wills 19 or 20 and it was just kind of the timing wasn't right and of course We go back on the trip and and the whole Iserman thing, you know happens But that was more just like all of a sudden Hork's on the phone the whole time and and if they stay within the organization for their next hire I'm pretty sure it'll be Sean Horkoff like okay. Wow. Yeah, and I think it would be the best decision the Red Rings can make personally But obviously there's gonna be all these interviews and but what was going to that? I do have to tell call me told a story That was incredible So call me his first year pro was playing I believe he was in the mind. Yeah, he was in the minors and he got called up and he was paired with Scott Stevens And they were playing the penguins and the first two periods he said it was the cleanest hockey. I've ever played No chances against nothing going wrong We got the lead and all of a sudden in the third period Mario Lemieux decided to turn it on He goes the heat got turned up 66 had four points we lost and next game I'm sitting there getting dressed time my skates and look down and it's an all-per-reperatz jersey That's like I had the world by the world by the balls for two periods Two periods where what so he was in Jersey He was in Jersey that's yeah, he's looming. Yeah, he's looming Oh, I played every round with Todd Bertuzzi biz. I fucking love him. Oh, I heard you never met him. Raves about him He's the most like He's such a good guy. Yeah, he's honestly one of the most loyal good guy I don't say whatever the fuck you want about him if you've ever met this guy He's unbelievably funny and he's got he's one of those memory guys you remember's everything crazy every single thing You mentioned one guy. He had a story told you how much he loved him had an unbelievable story about him He was just all-time Forget some of those guy like the wizard and in all furt and those guys like they played they were in the 20 year early 90s You know what I mean? So they had different stories than we've ever heard so it was a ball. Just to be like like in His his new gig is coach Loves it. Yeah, yeah, he said there and I think there was I Think they were 61 and six that I think they won they won it all and he has his whole team back Yeah, they had like 17 rookies or something like that. Yeah, so one thing. We didn't mention is the logo You sent the group chat before the tournament started so this was the full logo for everybody for both teams Very funny and we'll throw it in. I don't have the t-shirt on me right now. I meant to wear mine, but I sent the home Thought of that all for sure Cleary and Hark, but you know if you're listening on the audio It's it's a silhouette of me with the saber sword with the you know the worst chug of all time and the funny thing was when I opened the package with all the stuff we got I just looked quickly and I thought it was like somebody with the Claret jug Charotek I Ryan Fox. I believe yesterday and the them England advancing to the semifinals so a lot was going on. No, no England had already advanced when we went Yeah, we knew they were playing. Oh, we know that they were in the semis. So we got to watch a game We got to watch the game at a pub that pub was awesome. I don't remember the name of it But he just in door half outdoor was cool, but we were not doing nothing the Guinness pints Uh, yeah, yes, I was drinking Guinness at that and um they went up one nothing in the place went bonkers Incredible and then England like they just sat back. They like it was bizarre I was like, I don't think this is the team you want to just sit back against and then messy magic and boom They lose to one the play you could hear a pin drop. We immediately all left We were like all right because there wasn't much time left right when they when they went up one nothing Uh, no, they went up one nothing with like 35 minutes left or 40 minutes and that's why Yeah, and then they subbed out two offensive players apparently for like midfielders and just sat back and then and then Well, they subbed out this uh Declan rice who plays for arson who's nasty and the guy next to be saying what the fuck Why is he coming out and then like all of a sudden like bing bing bing Like suddenly you would never know and then this guy just boom. You should have seen how fast Irish murals You should have seen how fast Whit sprinted out of this bar so we could beat the crowd walking normal pace for what true The speaking of speaking of walking So the first place we played Sunningdale, which is incredible. I like I love this call it was sick But we show up and you know, oh, where the cat no, we had we had caddies right we had caddies We show up and I was the third group and I'm sitting there with Keith and I see Cleary go to the first T Now I see him walking off the T towards the club house. I'm like, where's he going? I don't know any and he's walking back over with push carts I'm like, what's he doing and I go out I'm like, what are you doing Barry's like there's no caddies. I was like what He's like, there's no caddies especially for a course. You've never played before. I'm assuming yeah So we went and bought the book where you can read like you could see what every hole is and where the bunker is You know how far to hit it and stuff, but it's like oh my god, so we're finished around and The next day we're playing Royal St. George's which is incredible. We knew we had caddies there But we were back Sunningdale Thursday was the only day of 36 holes because they have two courses and I'm like, oh, at least we have courses for Thursday He's like we don't No caddies for the Thursday for the 36 holes. I wore my nobles because my feet would have hurt so bad Not his noble golf shoes either his journey to where he's like to the journey to how are the knees after the Unrail but but having a push card. I think it's worse than even like carrying a back because you're pushing this thing up I like doing it If I'm playing 18, but I'm playing like like I would be playing once a week max It's good for exercise you get your legs going everything that dad, but you guys are trying to go through this This gauntlet of golf matches and then the first day it was you know, you land you go there you play And like I got a beer, but there's no couple during the push cards. I'm like, oh, this is kind of like So he's finished the beer Over there. There's no car girls or anything, but I was like, oh, scrub a water Dude There wasn't a water. Oh, it wasn't a water to be see. I don't know if there's water in that country So like guys are coming in potato chips and lamb That's it funny funny is lying Funny is lying of the trip we're on we're on like 17 first round. We'll playing with Bert I go dude how dry is your mouth right now he goes because Still having a sig He's just old school throwback, right? Yeah, what other stuff though. So Teddy Purcell has lined up for us our Michaels So Teddy's close with Al and his son. Do you know that our Michaels Has never eaten one vegetable in his life. Yeah And there's actually an interview that I because I didn't believe Teddy he talks about it all the time Yeah, there's an interview where he's talking about it He's like I would never eat a vegetable and the guy interview and I think it's like it looks like it's one of those like dead Serious interviews that they do for like legends. You know that one. Who does that guy who's that guy who does the serious interviews Al Michaels That's what I yeah, but uh, no, so we're gonna get we're gonna get out of Michael's on Samson offset. Oh come on He's great sam. He's got some crazy stories about one who played in Boston. Yeah, now he works for Dan Milstein I think it's Goldstar agency. He has like tons of Russian clients. Okay, I don't know if there's all Russian clients. So But the other part of the trip I have to talk about it does Al Michaels have a reason for not eating vegetables I know he goes look at him. Why would you look at it look at how gross they all look? Why would you I think from a Yeah, I think I said what about a carrot? He's like what about a carrot? He's like You look at a carrot. You think a carrot looks good and the guy's like yeah, I guess you're right. He's like I'm never eating one I mean, I like it's crunch. I like I love carrots. You love vegetables. Do you love me and all my ghosts just having a fuck you match over carrots? He doesn't come on. He doesn't come on because the vegetables are unbelievable. You know, they broccoli look sexy. Come on, he finds out how much you hate veggies. So we don't even get him as a guest. Yeah. So one of the meals that we ate it was at the hotel. So we ate it the hotel. It was a Michelin star restaurant. Okay. Lama potatoes. I'm just going to put this out there. They're fucking horrible. They're horrible. I bend the one and I said that and and and breathe with it. She's like, that was like brutal. All the missions they get tasting. It's horrible. It's horrible. There's like seven courses. They're all the size of your your thumb and then you're starving after and they're they gave us a piece of land. The first six dishes. I'm like, oh my god. I'm a Jesus. I was given mine away. And then I find them. I go, I see on the menu, one of them is a piece of lamb. Dude, it looked like a kick-out. My mouth is double the size of this piece of lamb. Yeah, double it was it was half the size of my mouse. See this mouse I'm holding up for my computer. So it was three ounces. No less. No, yeah, yeah. Two two and a half. Two point two maybe. But it was delicious. Yeah. The lamb was. So anyone out there who's like, I love and by the way, I was the only guy pretty much saying this. These guys are like, I love it. It's so good. That's why I know you're the same restaurant. I trust me. I had Keith. I go get pizza. He was at the dinner table ordering Uber Eats pizza that everyone wanted after. Everyone's telling me how good it is. Everyone's dying for a slice of pizza after. But at one point they brought out and it's all like hero act. It's all like looks crazy and agrees. So they brought out bread and then they brought out like it was butter. No, the coldest butter you've ever seen in your life. No, it looks like it looked like what would it look like Keith? What I thought it was. It looked like you opened it up, right? Like a smoke thing. You know, when you get like dumplings at like an Asian restaurant, yeah, the top. The top. And you know, there's a big handle. There's a handle and I just I grabbed the handle. Take the top off. Dude, the handle was butter. It was the it was the butter. My hand went through this butter, buddy. It was the butter was scorching my fucking head. It's like it's like a steep room of meals. I haven't had a bite of it. It's first ever restaurant. Give me the goddamn food. We walked 16 miles without a water. And I'm fine. I go a piece of bread. Like is it under here? Boom. I got butter covered my fingers. And I farted in there. And it was so bad. They like kicked me out basically. Hey, Witt's got the chef, Katty and form on the Thursday. They're here. Fuck it. No, take your stepping courses and shove them up your ass. And I would also believe that in order to set it up from the ground up and bringing in, like, you know, high-end scouts and high-end people that are probably already hired by other teams in living and comfortable and being paid accordingly, you kind of slowly have to poach those and/or, like, bring up these people in those positions. So that just naturally is gonna take time to, to whether to put those proper people in those places or allow people that you trust to evolve in those positions to take place. And like, but, but after the, that's why, like, like you said, when that news came out, when, when Larkin took the podium and said that, I'm like, oh, here we go. Because everybody was like, hey, like, I would never fucking call him. - 'Cause we grew up in that era of the league where it was that you would have ever challenged him. And then for, and keep in mind, like, Larkin, it's a very difficult position to be in, regardless of how great of a player he is, is before the Olympics, when it happened, he hadn't won anything, right? So it's hard for you as this, like, captain of this team who hasn't been successful to, like, all of a sudden, call out a guy at that stature at the podium. I think that that's what threw shockwaves. I think that, as time has progressed, people are seeing more in the eyes of Larkin being like, yeah, like, like you said, the fan base is probably divided. Like, maybe they're like, thank God, somebody had the fucking balls to say, hey, pitter powder, let's get out of here. So, and with him moving positions, like you guys said, as far as the saving phase, I don't think the uproar or the boobards are as bad or significant to start the year if Larkin starts in that position. Nor do I even know now, like, you're saying 100% if he starts the year in Detroit, he doesn't have a C on his jersey. We kind of all over this. Not anymore, I guess. Yeah, well, that changes a lot. Changes a lot, right? So there's a lot, a lot of moving pieces here for Detroit. And this is kind of a big move. And I would lean to believe that this is a message from man from from the ownership saying, we don't want to get in the middle of this. But let's move you here. Let's see if we can give this another rip and let maybe a new guy can make something happen in the midst of the start of the season and/or close to the deadline. And if we haven't found a proper trade for Larkin, let's just hope we're in a position. So we can make playoffs and his attitude on everything changes, given the fact that they, you know, maybe can make something happen with Worenski coming to free agency soon, McDavid, like, who knows, right? Maybe you get a crazy offer sheet that they send someone's way, like Philly's trying to do. But yeah, here we are. The last thing I'll say about Hork and I get people saying, you know, you just played with him. But I think having played with him just proves that you see all these guys you play with and you, you can tell kind of right away could they be a GM or not. And not to be the guy that like, oh, you kind of had to play to know this, but there's certain guys you play with. Hologliano was another guy, just like Hork, where I was like, these guys, do you know what I'm saying, boys? They're so in there. I was a Derek step on. But is it just because he's, he just like, he's obsessed with it. And he's like always in the know of everything that's going on, the league and that long ago. Longo is the same way. When I even for a goal, he was like, wow, this guy's going to be a GM or a president or whatever he wants after, 'cause he saw every transaction and like had an opinion on it in the locker room. And just dialed, I think more than opinions on transactions, while they're playing is Hork's one of the guys that since, since he retired, he's just been all in. And he's one of those, he's kind of a crazy worker. Like his ability, He's like his workouts used to be insane, he challenged himself, like he's just one of those type A dominant personalities. And now that he's just put it all, all the energy into the, the second aspect of it, the second part of his career, the managerial side, it's the same work ethic and he's just climbing the ranks. And I think, I think it would be an awesome hire, a younger guy, I think, yeah, I don't know. Do you think I do know? Actually, I do know. If they, if they hire him based on what you know about him, would his first action be, I'm flying to Dylan Larkin and I'm having a meeting with him and trying to repair the damage. I didn't ask him that. He also, that's a good question, but maybe they had, because sometimes your relationship, what's Horks is, was Hork assistant GM, currently, he's the assistant GM and sometimes running grand rapids. Like my relationship with Brad tree living when he was the assistant compared to my relationship with Don Maloney was a million times different, so maybe they already had that style. Yeah. Maybe they already have a great relationship where it's like, hey, listen, boom, start over, who should we get in? Who do you, who's a guy you want me to get? Or should I go up from a player? Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. That could be that, that could be the detriment to Stevie Y is like, because he's of that status, maybe he wouldn't be as open to, to talking to the players and picking off of them and, and guys are probably scared to talk to them, and he's scared, yeah, intimidated. You got to be more in tune with guys now, and you've got to talk into them and you're not their buddy, you're not their friend, right? But at the same time, you can have relationships where it's a lot friendlier than the old way was. Yeah. So do you guys see a time where I think most people would agree there was a time in NBA history where it finally got to more players speaking out, right? And I think that we can all agree that we like the fact that players have a say and have input and it's moving in that direction. Do you see it or ever getting to a point of a, like problem? Like you think, because I think we can all agree that from an NBA standpoint, it's maybe gone a little too far the other way. Do you feel like it's inevitable where the power dynamic will just continue to pendulum and it'll, it'll swing fully like where do you, because hockey, I would say that most people who follow hockey, they, they love maybe that older school element about it. They like the fact that guys would show up wearing suits. They like the fact that it was more about the team than the individual. Like I'm not saying it's in a negative place or it's a bad to any regard right now. I think it's, it's a, it's a benefit and it's good for the players to have this much say. I think you see it maybe snowballing on a hand or maybe there's examples where you think that it has already. I think it, there's definitely examples and my only theory would be that it, as the money gets that much higher, right? Did that start happening as the money in the NBA got so ridiculous and all of a sudden with that money, you just have so much more power. You have, you have so much more power like now granted, the teams are also, they're making more money, but now I mean, in the NBA, when did it start where guys were making 20 million a year? It was way, way before the NHLs even, we're not even there yet. I think a lot of it has to do with like the agents and stuff too. Like even back in our day, like if you called your agent, we're like, Hey, I think I should get traded. You'd be like, I don't know. Just hang out. Now you got guys like Judd. You got guys like they were almost so banged by the GM not saying mine, but like they were all banged by what the GMs and the owners had to say was like maybe a little more cordial. Yeah. It was a pecking order of how it went nowadays these GMs like they work for the player. They're going out. They're getting them what they want. Guys not happy. The agent. Yeah, sorry. They're getting the guy out of the baton if he doesn't want to be there. They're going to a team, you know, if he wants to be traded to three separate to three different teams. Hey, you got to trade on one of these three teams. So I think the agents and the players coming together have a lot to do with it. And I don't think it's a bad thing. I love that the players are getting what they deserve and what they, you know, work their asses off for. Yeah. I don't know. There's an argument though. If you're drafted, that is that that is the whole discussion though. If you're drafted by the team, are you? How many years do you have? How many? If you're drafted by them, they trade you in two years. No, but if you're drafted by a team and you give it how many years is it then okay to be like trade me? I would say Larkin's had enough time there where it's like Ben Taylor. I would say once Brady did it, it made it even more acceptable for Larkin to do it. I believe that, but Brady was probably at that tipping point, like in a sense of fairness. And he didn't even really ask for a trade, did he? Who? Yeah. Brady? Oh, yeah. Brady asked for a trade. But with that said, in the power dynamic and everything changing and where we're at and I think maybe we could talk about another special player signing a big, a big five year deal. He has that he has this special, that guy has a special quality. Like star power, right, he's marketable. He scores and then they get him locked up after the Leo Carlson thing. So I feel like every Blackhawks fan was fired up, definitely fair money now. Looks like it'll be a hundred point guy based on last year. Would you be surprised at all if he's over a point per game this season? I think you'll, I think he'll get to the next level this year. It's also nice probably like getting a little bit of comfort where he hasn't like had to commit this big long term eight year deal. He gets to see how they're able to handle things over the next five years because I would still say there's like, if they miss playoffs the next two years, I think we would all be like, yeah. But in year three of that deal, I think that major expectations start to calm as far as like, okay, here, what's going on? What kind of moves are they making like the bow, firearm thing makes a little bit more sense now and in rushing and getting him locked in for only the term that they got him locked in for, I believe that they align perfectly now, right? You got a six year deal, was it a six year deal he got either it's right, it's right around the same time, but I mean, right around the same time, the term he got locked in for is the highest paid D in the league. So it's right. Like it wasn't, it wasn't. The badard signing for me and you said it is, he'll dominate next year. You think he'll take the next leap because he's going to get healthy and he's not going to have to, he's not going to rush back out of that shoulder. He's going to be a. Sean, unbelievable movie. You are great. Tons of FaceTime. I've been telling people this is why you go to the movies, movies like this, the craftsmanship on display, what Nolan does is unbelievable. No CGI, all practical effects, just a stunning movie. Jarric Ape the whole time. Can't wait to see it again myself. Congratulations, my friend. Thank you, sir. Did you see it in IMAX for 70? I shot I max the there's only one 70 millimeter IMAX in the Wenglet. It was down providence. I couldn't get a ticket for that, but I started IMAX just north of Boston. It was just like stunning, man. It's just I didn't read the book. So I was kind of going in blind. Matt Damon was incredible. I definitely get to get an Oscar nomination. I thought he was almost like he was almost like reminding me like goodwill hunt and going through a mid-life crisis because nobody did like, you know, accents. They just kind of used their own and he was kind of cynical, sarcastic, funny, kind of like a Cleveland Browns culture a couple times during the movie, but he's definitely getting nominated. I thought Anne Hathaway was terrific. John Legwizano awesome. He looked like Feach lamana from the sopranos with that with his get up, but just just tremendous stuff in Hamesh Patel, who was an attendant. You must not know him. He was incredible too. It was just like to say, just a Slavanoca jaw drop a awesome flick. Slavanoca, that's an unbelievable. That should be hell over. That should be on Cisco and Ebert. Don't want to go see it. That is Cisco. That was Cisco and Ebert. Ask like R.A. What would you compare it to? Cheese. You know, I don't want this thing as people going to say is gladiated, but I think that's too easy to comparison because of the swords and sandals aspect. I don't know. It's just it's such a unique movie. I guess a little bit of maybe a little bit of castaway in there. I guess at a certain point, but I don't know, man. Like yelling for Wilson castaway. Well, there's some this and yelling in it fish fish. The producer said it was like avatar where like you go out like you need to see it in theater that type of that type of move. Do I have to see this movie in IMAX or am I missing out? I wanted to go in IMAX. I've seen it in IMAX and 70 millimeter and I got to be honest with you. I was able, but the 70 millimeter was the second time I've seen it. The first time I saw it, I didn't really, I didn't have the ability to retain any information. It was at the premiere. The second time I watched it, I was like, oh my god, how did I miss that the first time? There's a lot of nooks and crannies. There's a lot of connecting the dots not in an overly petty way, but like IMAX there's so much on the screen. When I condensed it and watched it in 70 millimeter, I could sort of dial it in a little bit more and it was. I don't know. I just, I retain the information. But again, the first time was IMAX at the premiere and like It was overwhelming, you know, there's a lot going on. So Was it a little bit more fun being at the premiere in a sense of like the work is done and like everybody's enjoying the success of it compared to maybe how like Diled in and aggressive the shooting days work as like you've mentioned before being on set with them There's not a lot of bullshit going on. You're there to fucking work Yeah, I mean I guess the thing was we were I mean when we shot Iceland we were in win-a-begos so like When we would finish work we would come back to camp and we would all be together again, so We have a lot of fun. We had a lot of fun. The guys in this movie The crew of guys. Oh, man. These guys are some wild dudes. I mean you really got some wild dudes on this movie I don't think you could make this movie without casting some wild ones like Just in the appearance and like how everybody mashed and and and Yeah, it was pretty wild. It's you got to see it. It's like This thing is so massive. It's so you are you referring to the fact that like the buy-in and commitment from the guys who might like For instance you like you were on screen a lot, but like you I think you had maybe one talking role I heard about you like through a pig or something, but we won't we won't we won't give any spoilers out But just like when you're rowing the boats and stuff like that These are long hard days where you have to have like buy-in from all these like extras in a sense Yeah, I mean I I don't necessarily It's funny when you see the movie you realize there's not that many people in the movie that talk like Mac carries this movie and half the way carries this movie Tom Holland carries the movie Hamash There's like 10 people in the movie Right R.A. Kind of when you when you boil it down. Yeah, Padson was great. Joe. He was uh, yeah, Padson's incredible like was almost But you know, so you add it up. There's like It's almost like there's 10 leads in this movie and everybody Samantha Morton Charlize Theran's incredible in it Like yeah, you needed a bunch of guys that were seasoned actors So that they could step to the occasion when called upon but also Live in a world and and make a world look real When you're not driven by dialogue all the time like a lot of it was Uh, I mean, I was lucky. I got a lot of it amongst our group, but but some guys didn't get any And they're still in the movie like viscerally they're in the movie and physically you feel them at times There's a last scene in in in our section Whatever, it's not a spoiler. We all die except Odysseus And a guy that we worked with Matt lasty who's this giant He embraces me at the end because you know, we're dying and like What he did without words was incredible. It's so You'll see it once you see this movie and every bit and peace ties in together and it's like there's no Fat on the bone on this thing. It's really a rocket launcher. It's it's Yeah, no, it's wild Like how grueling was like the physical work compared to say like maybe trade a camp or a playoff series because you I mean you guys everybody was buff. I mean David how freezing how how many days were you there total filming? It was like 70 days maybe on set but that was spread out over five months. Yeah, there were a couple of times I mean, I saw John Bernthal They had to take Bernthal out of the horse at a certain point because he was turning blue and You know you're shivering so much you couldn't get his lines out. He couldn't even He couldn't even grab the hand of a guy beside him to try and ground himself just so he could say his lines like Yes, this was the most physically demanding movie than anyone has ever made. I'll go on the record and say that Aves you seem and I mean this with all due respect very humbled to be like a part of this like the way your demeanor is about this is kind of Something we're not used to seeing when you're talking on camera. Is it more so like Just because you've seen the movie now and there to see what it all became and all these guys there in it like you seem very blessed to be in it I mean, I might be staring down the barrel of a gun of like one of the greatest movies ever made You know, it's awesome. I don't know. I mean, it's tough for me to say. I've seen it I've seen a reviews. They're all the reviews are incredible. So I haven't seen a bad review for this movie That's not that common nowadays, right? All right No, no, what are rotten tomatoes, sir It was unreal on rotten tomatoes. Yeah, it's kidding. I like Sean's view The only bit it's complaining with it was just Twitter like it was like just these fake made up things like It's a 3000 year old, you know, littered piece of literature with about mythology and people are complaining about like who who was cast It's not like they got like Russell Crow to play Mountain Luther King of something. It was like it's like take take a breath It's like it's a movie just didn't enjoy it. I think that was just a lot of online noise Yeah, and let's focus on the positives. I mean you got to work with probably what will go down as the best director Of all time if not like a top three like I'm not the most privy to like your guys mount rush more of directors But but Christopher Nolan. I mean fuck in iMacs taking that risk. What was that like? Yeah, I mean the iMacs cameras are I mean, it was incredible at one point we were in the middle of the ocean. I think we were in the meta-terranian and You're on this boat. It's a replica of a of a 3000 year old Viking ship this guy in Sweden Made a bunch of money and decided he wanted to build a Viking ship So this is the most Incredible ship you've ever seen like a a three thousand year old ship that can Manage the water better than modern day ships like they built things back then that were just they didn't have technology It was stay alive or die type of thing And that's really kind of what the movie is. It's very interesting. It's like stay alive or die and then tying in Zeus's Zeus's rules and and and then the gods Yeah, this thing was a monster. There were times where I was colder than I've ever been in my life and Like really just thinking about Whether I could get through the next half an hour And I would say I was one of the tougher guys on this on this whole entire shoot Yeah, but then some incredibly beautiful moments like Are you saw that shot with the dolphins? Yeah That's really unintentionally zero CGI in the movie everything is is practical so shot through the camera Maybe the whirlpool obviously Chris And the effects team they enhanced it a little bit but to to get a real whirlpool they had like I don't know 10 or 12 boats just Going around in a circle manipulating the ocean So that Our boat that we were in got pulled towards it and it it so yeah, there's it's all real There's finishing aspects that obviously color grading stuff but That the effects When Silla comes down and eats six guys off the boat Those are like ratchets that that actually came down in a and it was a hand that grabbed a guy and pulled them 20 feet The air like all that shit is real Yeah, the the horror elements. I wasn't really expecting them and look at the scene in the cave I'll just leave it at that like holy shit man Edge of my seat it comes relatively really in the movie, but I had no idea what I was in for them Oh, we drop on a spoiler alert before this interview like are we are we getting buried right now, all right It's a 3000 year old story guys What about Cersei R.A. Oh, oh, yes, I mean at the moment. Oh, she was phenomenal But we're not gonna spoil anything. She was absolutely phenomenal in that in that scene man She was so so scary so creepy. Yeah, she's awesome in everything But yeah, that scene that was another another like horror element and when you just said stay alive or die That's what I almost said to the fucking boom and next to me in the show who kept pulling his fucking phone out Like he pulled it out and I and I looked and like as everyone's a pussy like I'm Joe tough guy But I was like I was like can you put that away? Please loud enough sweet him. He puts it away He took it out five seconds later fucking at least ten times and I don't want to keep saying shit Now I'm gonna ruin the experience for other people and I'm just like kind of glaring at him And the worst part is he puts it down and he doesn't even hit the button. So you had to wait for the fucking If you move on from the bike lane lanes to being the guy in the theater who checks for people who bring out their phones Buddy, honestly, I had I had the same type of thing going on beside me And I was with my buddy Budman Shut up, Matt Budman. He said to me after the movie goes man, I gotta tell you You're you're ready. You're ready to take the next step because If there was ever a person and a time To lose their shit. It would have been you on those people beside us that came in late and then Spilt their coke on me like I went through You know people haven't been in theaters a lot and I I'll give them some leeway like they forget the rules and the etiquette, you know, because we haven't been going regularly Yeah, fuck now just entitled Yeah, I think we should talk more about like I'm my gear segment sponsored by all right. This is this is taking the cake here. We kind of mixing our razor role in the grind, my days that any of the could any of the actors take royalties on the movie as opposed to getting paid up front. I heard only that's over now. I heard no one was the only guy back in point. Yeah, you get maybe damaged. Yeah. I don't know. Actors get points on Chris's movies. I know for us, if you work a certain amount of days, you hit a full residual. So it's like you get your maxed out share on whatever it is. So yeah, this movie, and it's funny because like when I think about it, and once you start working and you see how residuals work, like they're actually real, and they don't stop forever. So like Nash is going to get my residuals. So every time you put one of these movies up on the board, they just keep stacking. They're like these beautiful annuities that certainly I'm talking about the blue chips like Chris's movies, of course. There's a handful of people James Cameron, you know, Villanue with Dune. These are real movies that pay out real money. So yeah, I mean, this thing's going to, I don't know who's going to take this thing out. Like I called it. I said, I knew when we were making, you know, I go, this thing's just going to, it's going to blow people away. It's going to make a fucking shit ton of money. And it seems like that's the case so far. You said it was going to be the biggest movie of all time when you came on, I believe. Or maybe that was murals. No, I, I think I might have said that. I mean, it's R.A. You know, like the thing is just massive. Business is going to be your favorite movie, I think. And you're a, you're a finicky movie guy. He's got what you think R.A. He's going to walk out and go, that was, that's my. Well, that's why I kind of have been on his phone on Ryan. No, no, no, no, not when I'm not when I'm watching the movies like that. No way. I might leave mine in the car for that one. Like interactions with the big stars, like who would have blown you away as far as like humbleness and or you seem to feel like it was one big family and everyone really got along. Yeah. I mean, no, I'll start with Damon. He got down to 167 from 200 pounds. The guy was like sharpened steel. First on set, last off set, carried the entire production, like he's in every shot in the movie pretty much with the exception of probably maybe 10 or 15. This guy caught one up on the board, like championship season, like, like give me, give me the NHL comp, Stevie Y in 2002, Stanley Cup and gold medal on one like type of. Oh, yeah. Damon's, Damon's Boston, you know, he really is. Like he embodies what we love about people from Boston, which is not afraid to get into the trenches. No bullshit. Fucking get to work. Let's get the job done. Let's have some fun too and get after it, you know, and have some laughs. He's a jokester. I mean, he, listen, he put up, he listened to my ship for five months, saying some wild stuff, getting in the kitchens of our other actors. He was sort of, he was kind of like, you just sort of hovered over everything. He only got mad at me once about one thing. I started a little bit of a couple of the guys. I pitted them against each other in an afternoon and said, one guy took a lying from another guy. It was really important. You're, wait, you're an agitator in that cornered up behind the scenes. I mean, we were the best friends. There was, you know, a group of us, so Odysseus is man, like, we're all like best friends now. Like, we will be for life, you know? So yeah, and these guys are wild. It's not like it was a one way street. I mean, we got some, we had some real good shit talkers. Everything from Jimmy Gonzales, a Mexican orphan, you know, to Anthony Mollinari, who's the most Boston dude of all time and talks with a Boston accent in the movie. Like, it's incredible. These guys were animals. And Matt was our guy the whole time. So yeah, yeah. No, we, they'll make a behind the scenes about this movie someday. You guys have never seen hearts of darkness, have you? I bought a plot clubs now. Yeah. Yeah. I've seen it. Yeah. What did he say when he got mad at you? Did he snap on you? Was it more lighthearted? No, he told me to fix it. He told me, he told me to fix it by the end of lunch because he didn't, he didn't want any tension. He didn't want the room to be in a bad shape. You mentioned, you mentioned being cold in the Trojan horse. Now that's something that came up in the movie Troy as well. What like, what do you mean? You were stuck inside this horse for so long shooting that like guys were freezing. Explain the whole day. Yeah. Well, yeah, we started six in the morning. The horse is on the beach. The tide comes in, the waves come in, the waves come inside the horse and fill the horse up with water. We're supposed to be hiding in the horse. We don't want the Trojans to know that we're inside the horse. So Chris gets in the horse with the camera and we film all day in the waters freezing and the waters freezing. And then it gets more freezing and Morocco's, I don't think Morocco's hot. Morocco's freezing cold. Morocco at night. Oh my God, it's like the coldest place, one of the coldest places I've ever been. No snow, no, but it rains and like, it's just so cold there, the sand gets cold. So yeah, we were in this water and it's, we're drowning in the water. We're breathing through little tubes, little straws that we've made. So we're under the water, we're soaking wet or clothes or wet. You can't really wear a wet suit underneath your costume because if you do, it's just so thin, it doesn't even matter. There were times we were in a pit, nice, Lynn, where I just said like, oh, fuck man, I don't know. I don't know if I can do this. You know, no, because you would have gotten ridden so hard. We had such ballbusters. You would have never, you would have never lived it down. Everyone would have known. We would have sold everyone. Like a successful locker room. Yeah. People say that Charlie's there and could be difficult to work with. Did you see any of that? So her and Matt worked together alone for five days and that was during one of our breaks to come back home. You know, very rarely in a movie these days, do they let you, we flew back to America three different times and have like two weeks off because this thing was so, you know, you just couldn't, you couldn't do it. Yeah, you had to give us a break. You really did. So Charlize and Matt were, they were in Morocco on their own for five days, but I heard she, you know, you'll see the movie. She's so good, Nick. She's like, it's like, umeth, thermon and kill Bill, but like, I don't know. She doesn't raise her voice once. She's so good. Calypso. She's playing. She's playing the ultimate goddess. That's plan number one. She is. She's playing like, you know, she seduces Odysseus for seven years. Yeah, I can see that happened. What about Johnny Brent? He's dog. Don't spoil that John. I won't. I won't. I won't spoil that. Oh, she takes more. It's two to the best. And the Trojan horse. Bernthal's the best. Bernthal is the best. I mean, the memes, the, let me tell you something. This guy's got one year. And by the way, incredible actor. I saw him in Chris. There's like great story. We're rating Troy. We're coming up the steps. And my whole thing was like, I don't chase the camera in this movie. Okay. There's a couple of guys that, that, that chase the camera. Oh, yeah. Right. You weren't a fucking camera chaser. You fuck with those teeth. Those are made for I max. By the way, I'm not allowed to smile in any Nolan movie. And my teeth are getting more, they're finally getting fucked up. And like one's bigger drop down the other. So they're starting to get a little, but, uh, Bernthal followed me on a take. And my whole thing was like, I was always on the back. I would come up on the end, probably because I was, you know, buffering the civilians in the background extras and the stunt guys. like that was my own war that I was fighting back there. So John decides to follow me one take and Chris at the end of the takes, like, uh, uh, John, you can't follow Sean. Okay. He's always hiding from the camera. If you want to be in the movie, I need you here. I need you in this area, which was incredible, because then John's like, that was sort of a challenge to Bronkel. And then he's got to figure out, what am I going to do? Long story short, I watch Chris walk over and take a trunk, pull a trunk out of a burning fire. And we go see in the movie is a lot of fire, but the fire is all, it's all piped fire. So they can turn the fire off and turn the fire on. He goes into the fire, he takes this trunk out, he walks it over and he puts it down on the ground and he says, sit on the trunk. That was one of the most incredible things I've ever seen. It was like Scotty Bowman and Steve Iserman having a little bit of, uh, like a, a spirited discussion about the half ball. And, and coming to an agreement, Berenthal's, Berenthal's the best. I love John. I loved working with them. I'll work with them again. He's the ultimate guy. I mean, he's so fun. Another one looks like, right? Yeah. A little bit. I had, I had one more question about the IMAX. So they say that the longest you can go with like a one IMAX real is about close to three minutes. So you can never have like dialogue longer than that. Or you'd have to kind of like intertwine it. They also say when you're filming in it, it radiates this like noise. That might be a little bit annoying. So how was it for people to like do their lines while this noise was going while you're filming it? Did you get to see much of that? Uh, well, I did on Oppenheimer, but then on, on the honestly, they built a blimp. So it goes over the camera and it, it encapsulates all the sound. So when the camera's running, you don't really hear it anymore. Um, how much was this movie to make? It doesn't matter. They made it all back already. Well, I think they said, I think they said 250 to make and then 125 to promote for a total of three 75 quick math, not a big deal, um, which that's got to put it up. There's one of the highest to make a movie of all time. Like what's, what's the lead? Titanic, maybe every person that I've talked to that has seen it has said they've seen it twice. That's the craziest thing. Yeah. And I guess you can't get a ticket. Like, I mean, certainly not. I said about IMAX. Oh, you don't need one. You can just listen on this episode. You can't. Uh, how many of the spoilers do we give up of a two hour and 40 movie? I've, I've tried to already forget certain details of the set. I don't want to bring them up again. You guys are forgetting. It's a 3000 year old story. There's no story. We don't know. We don't know. We didn't read it. They didn't read it, John. Did you already? No. I never got assigned it though. But you, I never actually got assigned it. I wasn't even familiar with it. I didn't know how I read it through kids read it. Yeah. I read kids books to Nash. They have something great. Kids book adaptations of the Odyssey and the Iliad. The Iliad was the is the precursor. That's essentially Troy when Helen, that whole story. Um, that's what that's based off of. I think he's going to make the Iliad now. I mean, who knows? But like, that would be wild. Right? All right. He backwards. As anyone ever. He's backwards. Uh, yeah. Go backwards. Yeah. Well, he's on Lydia. I mean, he said actually, he might do hard next. Sorry. Yeah. I don't know. Well, this one felt like a horror movie at times. Definitely. Definitely. Was this world dominion? Dominion 2022, 658 million to produce. That doesn't seem like I made it made its money back. I don't have heard of it. They still make those. I know. I can't even say. Is it dominion? Dominion. Yeah. If you don't even know how to say the name. Is there anything else that you feel like you have to share from this experience that maybe we haven't asked you yet, or you're like, you just right when you think of doing this movie, your mind goes right back there all the time. Maybe it's an interaction. Maybe it's more of the torture that you were put through to capture this. Like anything else that really sticks out the different landscapes and places that you got to travel maybe for the first time. Oh, yeah. I mean, there's that portion of it. Like some incredible locations. Vaughn, Yana, Sicily, lippery. Um, I had never spent that much time on the ocean. I didn't know that Mediterranean was a cold ocean, even in the summer. Uh, Morocco is a wild place that I don't think I'll ever go back to unless I'm getting paid. Um, Scotland is incredible. Like, Scotland is awesome. But I think Damon's got to take lead on this whole thing. Just watching this guy like, we're on the beach in Iceland. Everyone was tired. We didn't have a lot of time. Whatever. I watched him do three takes where he just turned the dial on each take a little bit. And what the output was, it was like, oh my God, it was like watching like Conor McDavid, like tweak an angle based on speed and timing, the way that he does it where you're just, you're, you're totally amazed. And it was a little tweak, you know, it was making that cut a second earlier because he knew that you weren't going to be there. Like, there was, there was so many moments like that watching Damon, but that guy is a master of the craft. He really is. He really is. He's a, he's a, he's a fucking incredible dude. An incredible actor on the highest level guy, that guy goes toe-to-toe with pretty much everyone. Everyone talks about the bales and, and you know, to Caprio. When is Damon ever like, he's so good always. This one is just tour de force. Absolutely. At the end, the final sequence R.I. I mean, when he takes it off, yeah, I mean, he was either good and we bought a zoo. Yeah, I never saw that one. Wait, if you, if you can't get the iMac, so obviously that's preferred, but I've seen some critics that have seen it in, you know, few different formats. And they're like, you, you, you won't enjoy the movie any less if you don't get to see it in iMac. So obviously, people prefer that, but I mean, how about this quarter? All right. What about the music? Yeah. Oh, yeah, it wasn't Hans Zimmer. It was a different guy who's like one of the best up and coming newcomers. Ludwig Gaagoransson. Yeah. Yeah, he did awesome. It was funny too. I mean, it's trying to win. It's like a two 50 move, two hour, 50 minute movie. I didn't move, dude. At the end, man, my knees were killing me. I was like, rubbing my knee in the dude in the aisle behind me was like struggling to walk out. He's like, oh, man, he goes, I feel like I was inside of that horse because he was sitting still for the whole forget sign. The guy next to let's him let you use his phone lights so you can actually get out before you fall over. Yeah. You're like, thanks. Getting it rolled by a boomer and end up on fucking going viral five. Guess what? I just was in Montreal for a week shooting this new TV show, this new CBS show called Einstein. And it's about Einstein's great-grandson who's a genius detective. And I play a hockey coach suspected of killing the referee, not you believable. Hey, believable. Yeah, that's method acting. Yeah, they're like, look at this guy's bike lane videos hired. Where's it going to debut shine? Is it going to be up candidate first or down here? No, it's the CBS show. It'll be okay first. It was I couldn't ask for a better trip. And you know, we stayed at Old Hickory Lake, which is 25 minutes outside Nashville, which was awesome. It was right next to Hermitage Golf Course, which we played 36 holes at 18. The generals retreat the first day, presidents the next day where they did a bar stool classic. It was awesome. Figured out the slice boys, got myself a tailor made mini driver. I got the mini driver. So I figured the slice out. So had a great week. Actually saw Andrew Peake at the course, former Bruins defenseman. You top place for Utah. Now I was doing his batch of party down there as well. But it was awesome. I mean, we hit Broadway every night. Basically just ended up at bar stool Nashville. You guys have been there. You know what it's like in there. What a spot. We actually had a table next to Diego Pavia one night. I don't know if you guys remember that guy, that's what you order back? Yeah. Vanderbilt. Yeah, he was the Vanderbilt quarterback. I mean, that guy, that guy just like runs Nashville. That guy. So did he, did he sign with someone? I thought he's signed to like the Ravens practice squad or something. So he's just ripping it up. He's just going straight on it. Full Johnny men's. Oh, yeah, it's funny. So we, we see him out the night before we see him out on Friday night. And then Saturday we got a boat pontoon boat with that. We actually almost sunk because my friends are a bunch of fatties. But we go to this place called the two foot cove. It's just like this big like cove where like 300, 400 boats just tie up with this two foot sand bar. Everyone just gets absolutely buckled. And we're walking through this like two foot sand bar. And who do we see just buckled with a like a 1942 bottle playing volleyball at two foot cold after seeing him out till five a.m. The night before was Diego Pavia. So it was pretty cool. It was pretty sick, but two caught two foot cold in Nashville. Pretty sick old tickery late. and it was also sick too. I can't suggest this enough. If you got a buddy who's a good cook, I have a buddy who went to culinary school automatic invite for a matchup party. He's chef in the boys up food all weekend. It was unbelievable. Meet his own salsa, avocado, crema, dip. It was incredible. I'm just-- - You tell him, pre-trip, hey, you're getting the invite partially because there's expectation to make some dips in salsa. - I think he's gotta know-- - He's gotta do a bill. - I think he's gotta know-- Oh no, we didn't charge him for anything 'cause he just paid for all the food all weekend. He was just chefin' everything up. So I think when you're that guy, you kinda know and he wanted to do it. He was itching to cook for the boys and-- - That's awesome. - Yeah, it's just one of those things where on the flight home, you're up, I was very grateful. Like very, very thankful to spend some time with my friends and my family. He hung up the blocker officially retired after nine NHL seasons. Dallas's first round picked back in the 2010 draft. I looked up his playoffs stats. He had 14 stats in the playoffs. Seven and eight with a 2.28 goals against and a 9.207 percentage, two shuttles. Like, number's kind of jumped out of you. So congrats to Jack. On a nice career and I enjoy retirement. Also, I'd play with an awesome guy, battled some difficult times guys. Him and Dusty Emo formed an awesome relationship when we were in Ontario. And he clawed his way back to the NHL. I think he played a little bit at the time for Dallas. Came over from there. And yeah, I think what he went and played a little bit for the Kings. And then he went over to Toronto and then signed that massive deal with Edmonton. So got everything he deserved, great teammate. And really, it was really cool seeing a guy first-hand, like just kind of reinvent his game and get back to where he should be based on expectations. So great teammate and a lovely Jacko and congrats on a great rip. And he's doing, did you quickly mention that he's, I think he's gonna be helping out, like from a mental coach perspective, like that's the transition he's gonna be making? I had mentioned that, but I'm glad he did. - I think he released a video today, partly mentioning that we're, I think one of the people who helped him just reframe and reshape his way of thinking. And that helped obviously also with Dusty Emo, and I'm sure other people who had a hand and getting him back to where he felt confident and able to perform at a very high level. I think now he's gonna help guide and aid people in his second career, which is cool to see, right? Like Nate, Nate was very vocal about that and working with a sports psychologist. So sometimes it's as little as you could, you could be, you know, all the tools, no toolbox as they say and, you know, meeting one person can completely reshape your way of thinking and lead to success. - Especially in that position. - Is he doing that? - He or on his own business? - So Dusty Emo worked as a goal tender coach. I, it seems as if though the guy he tagged was like an independent source. Like a buddy that he either met or came in contact with and he kind of looked externally. Where, you know, we talk about the goalie coaches and how much more they've been reintroduced. Now every team has one where that wasn't the case, probably 15, 20 years ago. Maybe even when you guys started your NHL careers. Of like moving forward. - It's black. - And then it's color white. I think there are aspects of it that are black and white. I saw a clip of him describing it today on like a board of wherever. - So you haven't seen it? - No, I literally just saw a clip today of him mentioning that. And the reason that I saw it was, it was talking about how he was not accepted to film school. He was rejected. So he would film movies like on the weekends with his friends. And that's how he got his start. And then he wrote, and I think him and his brother who write all their scripts together, he just kind of did his own thing. Like he didn't wait to like get high, he just, and that was momentum. And that was his OG break. And then he talks about describing how it was made where it's in black and white in some aspects where that moves in a timeline moving forward. And then the color aspect it moves from like back to front. And like you said, obviously a very confusing movies, but made lots of headways, right, all right? - Oh, absolutely. He was nominated for an Oscar for writing as well. So that, you know, that did you a little close. - So that was his first ever one. - I believe that was his big break.
