This is from the national park service that male bison are up to 2000 pounds, but they can run up to three to four times as fast as a human. Yeah, but I'm talking like I'm talking my cut backs. I think 9.6 billion the Seahawks went for. Yeah. Um, I then saw a tweet after apparently you can buy shares publicly traded of the Atlanta Braves. I think it was Clay Travis, Dave Porton was buddy. They're just best friends. Those two day, he said you should just immediately start buying shares of the Atlanta Braves based on the price that the Seahawks are so for completely different league. But all these sports franchise, they're just going up and up over 9 billion is crazy. I think it goes back to like AI as crazy as that sounds. I think the people I think I think my bison run. No, no, like live live experiences moving forward are going to be so much more valuable in the world of like all this generated bullshit. And I think that sports and yeah, any live event is just like ticket prices and experiences like that are just going to continue to skyrocket. Yeah. Um, you can say, I know it's offseason. What do you think you could last longer in the octagon with Conor McGregor or in a national park with a Bison home? Well, it's obviously the national park based on my speed that if I need it is still there and the, you know, how small an octagon is. Actually, Jans before we, we started recording, was talking about how he did his longest drive that he's ever done before. Yep. Which was sockingly only just over five hours. Yeah. Five hours. 20 minutes. Are you driving yourself? You mean? Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah, bus. Uh, no, we, we flew the year I was in Moncton. We flew anywhere outside of the maritime. Okay. I was robbing a lot of Moncton wildcats right here. But yeah, Robert Irving was so good to us. Teddy Nolan was like, Hey, I'm coming for one year. We're going to run this like an NHL team and anything outside of the maritime. We flew private. Well, you're also talking about like going on a bus and being driven. I think we were more referencing behind the wheel getting after it. But yeah. So Jans, like, you, you, you're starting to become a road trip guy. I don't know. I just, this one wasn't bad. And I'm usually four hours is usually my max. Uh, I do that quite a bit for, to like Tampa, just past Tampa for the kids lacrosse. But yeah, this five hour, I don't know, like it was in New Jersey, G knew the road that we took. It was like through the mountain, not mountains, but hills. It was like cool scenery. So there was no traffic, which was huge. If there was traffic, I would have lost my mind. Hutchings in Parkway. Hutchinson Parkway. Yeah, exactly. And so it was, it was a beautiful drive. Uh, kind of, it was mixed up too. We weren't on the same road for like four hours. Like it was different highways. You know, you do like 40 miles on one. So I like the same road. Like if I don't like that, I'll just, if you get me on a road and then the way he says, like, 314 miles exit exit, 69. I just, the Ronda Rossi talk. I would, I would love that. I would go, I mean, I'm on this road. I'm getting in the left lane. I'm going 82. If somebody comes behind me, I move over, I get back in, right? Okay. Maybe 85, maybe 85 actually. Yeah. Not that much of a pussy. I went, um, I went, uh, Scottsdale to Salt Lake, Salt Lake to, to Jackson was obviously in Jackson a while. I always love driving through the park and I always go to Bozeman. So drove through the park, avoided getting killed by a bison. Um, I always like to stop along the way. There's a few like rivers in there where there's a lot of rivers. And I just get out and just like jump in and think it's kind of refreshing and kind of wakes you up mid drive. Um, you know, it's, it's, uh, surprisingly for this time of year, there wasn't that much traffic in Yellowstone. Maybe it was because of the pocket that I was in, but, uh, got past there, stopped in Bozeman. Bozeman's a fun town. Like it's, it's a beautiful little downtown strip. Great restaurants, um, stop there for a night. And then where'd we go after that? We stopped it. Oh, then I went to a court of lane and I ended up going to the Gretzky hockey school for the, for the Friday boys. I like, I was like legit playing in the game against the, the, the, the second age group. And then the kids that were, there was a few that were up to the age of 16. I was having a hard time keeping really. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, even if they don't have skill, even if they don't have hockey, I need to see they, they all can buzz though. All these kids can buzz. Like they just fly around. So Derek Ryan, who I believe just retired. He played for the oilers. His kid was out there who was probably the best kid. He was out there. Juke and like, I dangled a few times where they put me on rollerblades and like all the parents are watching. And I'm like, oh, yeah. Like just like, not trying. Yeah. No, I was legit trying. So we didn't win a game for both sessions. I hopped on. Were you full gear? No. I just get skates and gloves. I took a few, a couple of the kids. You know how you think that they're going to, they're going to cock the puck back and they're going to see I'm in the lane and not shoot. No, right off the shins. Oh, But then on from there, I ended up stopping in Seattle for a couple nights, which, you know, not your typical city that I would go to, but the weather there is stunning, kind of a weird city layout, like there's too much like industrial that you always see regardless of when you're looking like at the ocean part. I know you're on the inlet, but nonetheless, beautiful weather went to a couple incredible restaurants there and then finally made the trek. So overall, a great two weeks and very excited to be back in Vancouver and then heading to Victoria. And then we got our boy, Jeff Jacobson's birthday party on the 23rd, there's a major Canadian oldie is coming, Dale Morningstar is coming after the buddy, these guys, what are these oldies married with kids, right? Yeah, but I think him and Dale moved in together, yeah, him, Dale and the bison and the bison, they, those two murals, murals offered and it was a hell of an idea, murals, obviously, he thinks of everything. He's like, I want to be the Ohio's date for oldie and memes and just document their, their trips wherever they go and I'm asked like, because I think some of the stuff that these guys are pulling is completely outrageous. They showed up to a hole in one stream, I think it was, no, they went to that, they'd been trying to get a home one for 97 hours. Oldie shows up and I think it was within 30 minutes. Within 30 minutes. So guy Kyle got one vote. I face time with this big John guy, yeah, you guys see, yeah, so that guy is looking electric. Oh, he's electric. I don't know how he's doing those runs. He's high. He's drunk. He's in phenomenal shape, phenomenal. And he's buzzing around and I believe his, his internet, his following has exploded. Oh, yeah. Who's that shit that he has with him? Well, but there was a video of her with Drake that this is my out there though. He was there. Okay. Okay. That would have been exactly there with. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. If you're like always with this girl and then she's just dropping a video with Drake, it's like, all right. I'm going to go run around and try to get away from this bison and hopefully it catches me. I like that. So freezer tarps did a video on it. Like these, it just hits my out. That's right. How can you not laugh that freezer tarps in a way so that he talks and just like his banter and his, his, his vocabulary. What a silly group of guys that hang out all the time. Would you guys ever do a bagger with, with Kyle, uh, Chetty and then maybe big John, 1,000 percent. Of course. So we got to line that up. I think Kyle is on like, I think he's trying to become scratch. Like he has like a coach with him all the time. I think he is. He don't know, John's nasty though, boys. Big John is like, he, he played Chetty in a 18 hole match, shot a 67 like this guy is a legit walking golfer. And Chetty was texting me after he's just one of those like reverse putters. He said he's never seen anything like it. Like the kids shotgun and beers. He's fucking smoking the whole time and then he goes out and shoot to 67. But I think that sandbagger would be a electric. I think that's not a guy that we could trust. Yeah, we could. He's going to bury him. Yeah. three guys where it would be tough to play the drinking card. I think they drink just as much and and we play for watches. We put up G's Rolex that we got against Kyle's Richard Mill that he got from Drake for his birthday. That'd be a good. We would sell it and we'd go on a boys trip. Okay, we'll get G a girl size one. So because G's on right now, there's a there's a lot happening. Okay. So G's work on his golf game. He's got his bachelor party in Nashville with 15 of his buddies. That's this week. Yep. Yeah. You you bought tickets to know a con and what we have to talk about know a con too, because I've been getting DMs from this guy. I feel like the coolest person on the body. Yeah. There's a lot that goes into this, I guess. Yeah. But you bought fake tickets. So where do you want to start G? We're going to start with your bachelor party. Yeah. We can start with with the bachelor party. If you want, I'm heading down to Nashville this week with 15 of my buddies so fired up staying on old Hickory Lake, like 20 minutes outside of Nashville. Gonna rent a boat one day. I heard there's this, you know, big sand bar where everyone goes drinks and parties. So it should be a blast playing hermitage as well. I got two rounds there, two separate 18s playing both of those. Golf game is just in the absolute tubes right now. It is horrible. Iron's dialed, putting dialed. Just can't figure out the T box. I just I've created this insane slice that I just can't fix. I got three swing coaches trying to help me. Everyone says they can fix it in 20 minutes and they work with me and they're like yikes. This kid needs a lot of work. So hopefully I can figure that out for the for the golf trip. No, there's going to be some money matches there. But I'm so fired up. And it's it's just so crazy. You know, I came into Chicklets as a young 23 year old kid. Now I'm getting married. I'm 33 going on my bachelor party this week. So it's it's been a crazy ride. Pinkies up. And yeah, I just I can't wait to get to Nashville and see all the boys. And I mean, this week, Noah Cajon, we can get to know what Cajon is. Well, what a concert best show in my life. It's as a con or Cajon. I always say Cajon. I think that's why he's telling me. It's the other other way. No, no con. All right. Well, no con. It was the best show in my life. It was an unbelievable concert at Fenway Park. He got nominated to like the music hall of fame at Fenway Park, only four people. Billy Joel Paul McCartney, Zach Brownband and now Noah Cajon. It was unbelievable. Showed out four consecutive shows insane. But I bought fake tickets. And this I don't know how this always happens to me. I bought these tickets for Alana for Valentine's Day. So in February, I got these right away. They sent me the tickets. I know like we I'm kind of the guy that always handles the tickets on the tickets trip. That that doesn't usually happen. They don't usually send you the tickets six months in advance, usually a week before sometimes 24 hours before he does. He does it one o'clock day of the concert. Yeah. Also, I didn't know that he had this like ban on secondary markets reselling the tickets. So as we approach the concert, I start seeing on TikTok and in Instagram, all these people getting rejected outside the show. And they're not allowed in. They have like real tickets, but it's the bar codes all fucked up. So I'm looking at these tickets. And I'm like, I tweet out. I'm like, I think I bought fake tickets. Chicklets fans start DMing me screenshots of their tickets. I'm like, holy fuck, these are completely different tickets. Like already was disgusted with you by the way. We'll talk to him in a bit. So I call my friend who works at Fenway Park. And I'm like, Hey, like, is this ticket real or not? He calls me back. He's like, no, it is not. That is not a real ticket. So I end up buying two more tickets because this is now 20 less than 24 hours before the show. So I end up buying two more seats in the same section. So I want to be like, all right, maybe if they look alike, you know, maybe they are the same seats completely different tickets. Like these are a row apart, different bar codes, different looking. So where you bought it online though? Online. I used a pretty reputable site and a very, very reputable site. And then I call the site and I'm like, Hey, like, these are fake tickets. They're like, no, they're not. These are real. I send them the screenshot of the real ticket I bought. And then the fake, the other fake one, they admitted they're like, yeah, there's no way that they reimburse you. Oh, I about an hour before the show, they send me two more tickets. So now I went from having zero tickets to four tickets. So I got to bring two of my buddies for free. So it ended up being an. That's cool. Yeah. Okay. Okay. That's nice that they they ended up bucking up and taking responsibility. So now we're in the now we're in the world of where like even when you're going to reputable sites, you can be buying fake tickets. We already had the the issue with you buying the one on what was a suborrows pizza box tickets. Yeah, that was. I nonetheless, I took a ton of mushrooms. I was I was walking through Times Square. Someone offered me Dave Matthews bands tickets. I bought them ended up at Margarita Villain Times Square that night. That was a young dumb and full of come Mike. So. Okay. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. That's a tough one. I went to the same show. This was Friday night. Correct. I went Saturday. Oh, I mean, this guy. Now, I guess before I get into the concert, I'm stalking him basically at this point, but it's through biz. So the back story is that I want to say after the last time you played Fenway, which was summer 2024, I didn't go. My dad had tickets. I'd never heard or listened to him and I wasn't there. And then all of a sudden, everything is concerts incredible. I start listening. I'm a super fan. I love the guy's music, right? So I'm like, I'm going this year. Well, in the meantime, he somehow hears that we were talking about him and DMs biz. Biz sends the DM over to us. I'm like, holy shit. Biz is mentioning, let's play golf. Hey, big fan of the show. So we go to the show, a bunch of friends are in there, we're in there at loco before with Shaw'sy, my wife and I take a little bit nibble of a chocolate bar, then a couple nibbles of a gummy bear, and I'm sitting there with Ned and my wife and his wife, and I felt this joy overcome me, and I'm just so happy in the sunsetting, and I love the music and Fenway Parks, might have been my favorite place on earth, and I'm just like, life is good. Well then I immediately drop my phone, you know, I fumble, fuck my phone, I drop my phone, I pick my phone, my phone's broken. The screen is completely green, it's, it's going, it's black, it's then going to white. I start panicking, I'm like, all right, I can't do the Verizon Apple store thing before this trip. That's having here's the part that, here's the part that I don't think people are understanding is that the percentage of the cap of what I, and I think we talked about the last week. The first piece first deal is not that far off, like maybe a percentage from what Carlson just did. Now we have talked a lot about how awesomeness is for the players and biz you said you said things are moving fast in the rontan and deals. So Samuel, and Anaheim's like, wait, but the Caprice off deal is what that that was the game changer. It's amazing players are getting a lot of money. We can be open and honest that we love it. We want guys to be so filthy rich when they're done playing that they could sit around do nothing if that's what they pleased to do. But at the same time, if you do take less, it's going to help your team. And Murls is the big guy talking about Caprice off and now he's got to say to about Carlson that you're really fucking over the team. So I don't really know for hypocrites. We're just saying how they both are completely different situation. Caprice off in his agent were like, this is the number that it's going to cost you for me to stay here. Well, the owner said he has a blank check to that also probably didn't help their negotiating power. Okay. So like moving on to this situation, we we talked about in length for what 30 minutes last podcast, they were offering them eight times 12. That's obviously not going to get it done with them knowing the information that they're going to be getting an offer sheet. They clearly they knew the amount of money that they were going to be offered sheeted and they gave Anaheim an opportunity. They literally went back and said, hey, listen, we got we got an offer sheet coming and we know it's significant. We're going to give you one last opportunity to throw an eight year deal at what would be a reasonable number, which was 15 and keep in mind. It might not have been eight. It might have been they might have still one five, but either way, doesn't matter. I know. I think that he would have taken eight, which would have benefited Anaheim at the fact that if he would assign eight times 15, three years into that contract, Leo Carlson would be making 11% of the team's cap. That is a deal. Yeah. That is a player taking less to help his team win three million. They knew the offer sheet and then everybody knows what's going on. It's the fucking behind the scenes NHL. I'm half fall and like you know hugging everyone, but on top of that we had an incredible night Not too often you get traded, but also get to hang with your voice and and you know enjoy an evening knowing it You know, we had a couple more weddings ahead. We had you know in flower and in Brooks, or per government that summer So we had a couple more parties. So it was good, but Crazy story crazy time, but you know like to answer your question. Yeah, it was to play with Eric. That was the biggest thing and um, you know To play with your brother in NHL I mean, how can you I how can you pass that up even the opportunity to so I was so excited to get down to Carolina man. I was I was I was gonna change the whole thing like we're gonna turn this thing around and I had all this ambition and it just went They went to shit. I mean for the most part it was it was no good, but um so many great great memories Um, you know with the brother and all those things like I said before and Um, but yeah, it was it was crazy times. It just like it is That's what it seems like everyone's a quick fix and a quick shot at it which I get but like like You're exactly right. What what I went through just it gives me chills right just think about like the The whole journey was was incredible. I mean there was ups and downs or it's life, right? I mean there's ups and downs in life All and everyone's lives and I learned so much about myself about my teammates my brothers my own character like and then you know to to grind through that stuff all His years was was tough and then honestly like said if there was a moment Yeah, it was when they traded Eric. I was like my goodness like I came here to play with them and they know they're trading them So like I definitely sat down that summer. I was like what am I doing like I'm in my prime. We're struggling But we don't really see a light the most part We're not spending to the cap. We're not trying to get better You know, we just traded my art arguably. I think our best player at the time and you know, it was like So yeah, there was questions there. There was questions all throughout that. I mean why wouldn't you right? I mean I wanted to win so bad, I mean, you get that taste and all you can think about is how you want to win again and You know, but it just it just to me. I was I was committed to Carolina and I've seen so many times where guys go bolt out and Grass isn't always green on the other side sometimes it goes self and it just doesn't work and I and I loved Raleigh I love the opportunity we had there and I wanted to build something and I wanted to be a part of it and It's it was slow You know, it was funny actually. I mean, I they traded air that's At the end of the year and I met with Ron Francis You know, obviously the guy the trading him, but he's like, uh, he's like, you know, blah blah like and I heard this for years me and Eric Like this guy's gonna be good. Don't worry like we know where we're building something here And I don't ever get in the summer and he's like no, I know a trade Eric's tough blah blah I was like, but this we got this Sebastian. I hope kid like he's gonna be good like blah blah. I'm like that bullshit I'm like at the time. I've heard this. I've heard this before I've heard so a hundred times like no way like I'm out of your crap Like this is I'm so I'm like all right, whatever. I'm gonna take another year of work hard and I'm gonna try to be the difference making next year and and turned out that gave us pretty good and and I know I know Jacob Slaven shows up and you know And then and all those guys just obviously started rolling in we started building something cool and obviously With Tom taking over started pushing the envelope of getting better and and spending the cap and creating the team And then you have broad. I mean what more can you say about that guy? I mean once he took her the reins behind the bench things changed dramatically Our competitiveness the way we play our aggressiveness the details And then just the day-to-day consistent grind that he brings all That kind of mixed in together and it was just it was a gravitational pull from everyone Everyone that came in that room was just like I feel something here And you hear about even guys that would have to leave and you know They would shoot a text of the group which you don't see a whole lot I don't think and they're like man you guys have something special. You know, it's like really fun to be a part of and And um bunch of guys to do that and and I felt it too So I believe didn't I love what we were doing the way we're direction we're going and then yeah Like you said, we just kept getting kicked in the balls You know I went after the other you know you're after year or having a good team get a couple injuries You know running to whatever just didn't click didn't click and I'm like keep telling the media You know, it's it's a matter of just giving yourself a chance I mean we have a great team. You got to make playoffs. It's hard to make playoffs It's not easy and you just got to keep giving yourself a chance and you know You hope hopefully that it clicks you stay healthy and you and you play the way you want to play and um and this year did it worked and 17 years man. That is just like it's crazy and you know we we it was There was a wild time obviously said not 17 in Raleigh, but incredible ride building something so amazing and and to see all these guys I love to watch them raise that cup was There was that was the ultimate goal and it was just so amazing at what year would you say you started to like not only hear that like Oh, you guys got something special brewing here Could you pinpoint an exact time and just looking at the like the timeline here Rod had been assistant coach for two years before you got there He was still assistant coach for about I think five years after you got in there When you got there, were you like maybe a little bit surprised given like his professionalism, his drive, his knowledge of the game That it maybe took so long for him to take over as head coach. No, I so Roddie was as assistant He he had respect for the head coach. He he was doing his job and I'm sure in the back of his mind. He's like I think I can do this better and and I'm sure he mentioned that to Ronnie a few times but Over the years, but no, I think when it really started to click and You know started to go was obviously when when ride took over and you know, we started pushing playoffs and and making moves and and climbing the standings consistently push probably those moments where you know guys coming in now with that We're really appreciate what we're doing and how we're doing it and and having fun with it We had a blast and you still do and and I think that was probably the time I basically when riding took over and we started going but um, you know for the most part Roddie Roddie had a lot of respect For any coach that was in there. I know he was he was pretty close. I think magickity story I was you know with Bill Peters I think was our last side coach before he went um and took over but Um, I remember sitting on the on stand on the ice with him talking to him and he was like I think I'm done I'm like, Roddie you can't leave and you can't leave I'm like I'm like you need you I said you because I'm like gonna get ahead coach. He's not somewhere else if you leave like he was just like he was over the whole thing And I was like I'm like we'll talk like and that was the summer that he ended taking it over You know, we we figured it out that You know, we found a way to get him to where he need to be and where he should have been for all long But um, like you can't leave them like it like I wouldn't like you to do like I feel like there's Yeah, like I was like basically all my knees are like you can't like you can't leave so and you know We found a way and man once he took over what an incredible ride from there to and just it was just like a roller coaster We're just going tick tick tick all the way up and it was uh, it was really cool That's what I was kind of curious about so he comes in you get in he's been in the playoffs every year Which is now eight straight But those years where you're coming up short conference finals second round like A couple of those exit meetings did it did it turn not not nasty But almost like what what needs to happen here like what are we missing? Because obviously you're so good every regular season you can't get to the top So there's definitely hard conversations that happened throughout that run the last eight years. Yeah No, yeah, there's a few and you know, it's it's just about getting better, right? I mean you're just you're tweaking at I think then You know, you see a lot a few teams here and there that you know, they blow it up because it can't quite figure it out But like my goodness you're in like if you make playoffs, you're you're a great team like you look at the like I know You know, it was big all of a center's fans served this round like but they were they're a legit You know, they were good man. They were fucking good. They're a legit team. They are and they they they had they have great pieces and you know You do want to tweak it a little bit or whatever it is like you at you and you think any player any team that's you know Making playoffs There's no question like anytime. I've ever made playoffs like I have aspirations. We're gonna win this thing like what like why not? Why not us and you know, we have a great spot. So like I think like there is there's something said about You know of just just tweaking. I mean, you don't want to You feel like you have a great core and you have the right right mix But you just need to just just continue to try to get better and that's just like day at a time. It's it's a corny thing that You know Bill or strength guys says you got to go 1-0 and it's just about trying to get better every day and And that's just tweaking with players too and and stuff like that So we had that a few hard conversations about how we can get better and And finding ways to to just get us over the hump and Um, and I think the healthy thing was a big thing too. I think there was some years man. We had some great squads and it just You know, it doesn't take much. I mean, you know, I mean you could you can go down line or even this playoffs and The teams we played they had a couple injuries and it's hard. It's just hard. So you know, we were very fortunate and blessed to stay healthy Which is big and um, but also, you know, we we brought in some players that are incredible I mean, incredible additions on top of everyone else just executing that much better and you know, we found a way to pull it off Shadow Talski one of the biggest tweaks you guys made was getting ranting and a couple of years ago and then You know, he essentially says he doesn't want to be there. What was the whole thought process with you? I mean, obviously you're the leader in that room like what was the whole process the chatter with the boys in there It must have been crazy times, right? You get one of the biggest guys. Yeah, it was those wild time I was I remember telling the guys after it was all said and done like I was the weirdest like Yeah, it was weird for fans let alone like it was so weird guys Well, I mean, I and I get it and I felt bad for rants too like he you know, he wasn't really expecting to get traded And you know, he was hoping to sign a car ride or whatever was I and obviously like he has his own story So it is what it is. So we have like a star player sitting beside me on my right and He's not sure what's going on. He's trying to play his best. He's struggling out there He's frustrated and like Roddy's kind of tip torn around because like we want to sign on you know, it's like and then I don't want to carve him Yeah, and he's like, yeah, but he's not really doing kind of what we like them to do and But also like he's so talented and you're like, well, I get it like you know, and he can make plays and you're like, okay Well, we'll figure it out by like we also need to know he's gonna be here and it's like it was the weirdest time and even for me I was like I didn't know what to say to him for the most part and it's like it's tough. It was weird. So And then yeah, honestly, we were obviously just hours of time when he was playing and we were When losing games when we knew we had a great squad and then you know We like I remember telling talking to Marty and I was just like I we just need this deadline to be done Whether he stays or not. I don't care once that deadline is done We can we can finally just go like and then we let out you know, he obviously left and then I think we won 10 straight right after Right after the deadline like we were just bossing like we're like finally just like just do what we need to do and play the way we want to play And whoever we have let's just go and we did and and yeah, it was it was a weird time those one of the weirder You know moments in in my whole career really. Yeah, that's like well We had Tom Dundin on who what an electric guy right like he he speaks his mind like with us I couldn't believe how good I actually had a couple people reach out like oh that guy's great But when he came in If you mentioned already spend into the cap like to have a guy who wants to win But also is kind of demanding of winning that maybe be intimidating to some guys But you must have loved it like all right now we have like an owner who's like wake the fuck up here guys You're exactly right. I mean that was that was the big thing too It was like I thought you know with mean Eric and I caught peace to be happy I was like man we can be a good squad and we just never really We just kind of open, you know, we're hoping that we're gonna be good enough and you know this this player that they were talking about He's really gonna be panning out and you're like okay, and then you start the season You're like I don't know and then it's just like and that's all it takes the game is so close like this league is so incredibly close So you know you get on a couple of streaks down the other way and then you're out like you know whether you're three points out or whatever But you're out so, you know, we went Tom took over it would have been much more incredible if Eric was still around but Yeah, man, he pushed the envelope. I remember sitting them with him right off the bat and he was like all right Like what do we got what are we doing here? And he was just picking my brain. He's picking everyone's brain and and I mean the amount of data That guy like shoves into his brain and spits out like amazing stuff. It is he's incredible He that I don't understand how where he gets the time and how he does it all but But a guy that wanted to win he that was it. It was like there you could see it and that's I mean it was so So such a breath of fresh air and he was willing to spend the on the players to get the right players and and keep him and try to Push up any bit buttons that would get better and and he was like said it was the perfect storm between Roddy Picking over and Tom pushing that that you know, we just started built something really cool if you're saying that about his numbers and analytics and stuff like that What do you make of Tulskies? Yeah, Tulskies his favorite person. Yeah, he's a fan of Tulski indirectly So I mean the guys is he's a mastermind back there. I heard you guys don't let him near the wives lounge. Yeah, that's too handsome Oh, yeah, no, you keep him away from the girls. I mean he's a chick magnet for sure But he isn't he's incredible. Obviously. He's done a great job You know, he he he plays part but he you know, you start getting to know him and a lot of a lot of conversations a great Dude that won't again wants to win and and just wants to be a part of something special and He's he's played as part incredibly well and he's a he's been he's done an amazing job for Did you ever ask him the back story to like what happened with Stankhulvin? Like are you are you on that type of level with him when like Like I believe the story goes that one of the guys one of the scout said to him like this guy is he's a he's a hurricane Like I don't know how else to describe. He's a hurricane So like did he already have that kind of teed up in case it didn't work out or were they scrambling After they made this trade to figure out oh fuck how do we how do we get out of this? Yeah, I think the story you did kind of spill it all for us because obviously he was a you know obviously a bit of a whoopsie on their part and You know, I mean it could be in long run it could have worked out better for us or any better for us, but um, you know it was uh It was a nice of random. I think there was you know four or five teams that he was willing to sign with I think so he gave us an opportunity to kind of flip him and And so that was very none he didn't have to do that because he said sorry Just gonna yeah, that's true if he was just like oh, I'm playing this out like we're there all right Well, we're gonna try to win with you and then we'll see what happens, but um, you know, you know, it's nice for him and Um, and then yes, obviously thanks was a was a nice addition. I mean, I'm obviously a nice amazing addition, but like Um, I don't think he was just I don't think they wanted to give him up, but you know for a guy like random and you have to and He's good young player and um, I remember actually in a few text from a few guys um that played in the west and and you know I obviously didn't play against thanks to tonne, but they're like oh, you got a good player there and I was like And I'm well, he he jumped them online right away, and I like yep. He is good like he's legit and uh um, and he only kept getting better and and you're exactly right He's like caniac through and through like his competitiveness his drive and uh his day-to-day and and how he competes and and tries to get better every day is It he's up there with the greats and on our team, so um And just just a solid dude, man. Just just a good dude that wants to compete and that's those the guys we love for a guy that won So early in your career and then obviously, you know, went again till this year like where they're times You know going into the summertime be like I might not play next year This might be it and then if so and then this year after winning is it like okay? I got even more years now like it it let even more of a fire or you kind of like okay I got maybe one or two more. Yeah. Well, I mean, this is how my brain works I guess at times But you know, I've always been hard on myself and probably too hard in regards to maybe me I remember you being very hard on yourself. Yeah, and there's a good one I mean, I've gotten better that way that over the years But I truly when I signed that 10-year deal, I was like I just I don't want to get bought out like I was like I was like I want to play this to the end and I would be happy. I mean, I mean, that's incredible like I mean who who can you know, so that was like literally my goal issue especially through the dark years It was like you know like is this guy any good like and I was like I'm think I'm good And you know, it was like we're gonna talk for like Um, and you know, it's just like I didn't want to get bought out. I wanted to keep competing and and played played to my what I committed to You know my commitment to the deal and with the team and what we were doing and and that's what I wanted to do and then um, and I started rolling at the end of that and You know, to be honest, I was kind of right after that 10-year deal is I was like I was almost like a one-year at a time I'm like I didn't know what they wanted either I was like I'll play for anything right now I'm so excited to get back in there and and play for this group of these guys and try to win So yeah, we snuck in a four-year deal and I was like I'd rather I'll just Just start with one and you know, it it goes by quick man. I like it's like It's crazy them at the end of it again, and um, you know, I have a new year I had a you know one year left is and my mental state is uh, I mean, I I got to go work out here at some point in the summer You know, I go walk I go use my brother's gym because I'm too cheap to make a better one So and it's like you know, he's already sleeping. I'm up at six and getting there early and I'm dreading it But I'm also just excited for the next year. So I got to do it. You know, it's got to be done and um But like how much slower man do that? I don't know and I I mean I I am exhaustive with it Um, what what I have told the guys recently The worst part about you know being out of this beautiful lake Let's go an hour drive hour in a bit just to get on ice, right? So really it's a lot It's a lot of longest drive. It's kind of pain to bite. I'm especially I work out and then you know I'm changing and I'm going in a car. You sit in the car your hips are You know you you by the time you get out of the car You know already bent over like a little crap and then you get on the ice and you just have to skate around for 30 minutes Where you can actually feel like you can bet legs and then you finally get there and you like Then you just bag yourself and you get off the ice go. So it sucks. Then there is not that not that enjoyable But it has to be done, you know, so I would do it But this last last summer last few summers um Eric's oldest oldest boys are now they're getting older and they're like we want we need to skate like we you know We're trying to get better ball blah and like all right like comes here with me like and Eric's like I'll run the practice I'm like all right, so we know and then next thing, you know next you know I have I have my daughter's mouth. I have my little And it's like I'm sitting in this room and it's like you know It's Parker Levi Finley and then Henry my son and and Laila and Abigail and you know Jack And they're all tying their skates and they're all getting out there as a like in one room and like I'm like Well, like I like it's so cool and I Granted, I didn't get as much work probably as I should have get done out there But for the most part I got what I needed, you know and you got memories. Yeah, and and sharing the game, right? I mean it's like it's it's in our blood in the soul family and and the next generation or just I'm excited to literally go up I know Eric already bought ice and I'm excited to get out there with those guys and just Just enjoy the game and practice and grind with with my neck nieces and nephews. So you're already obviously back in Thunder Bay. Yes I just got back a couple days ago Yeah, I was excited to get get to Lake man and there's no better place Just to turn the mind off and and chill out. So where does Eric live in the winters in the winters now He's still to yeah, okay, okay, so his boys are what like 10 11 right around the oldest is now 16. He's high school. So he's playing Southwest Christian high school, I think and Finley or sorry is middle Levi will be jumping up high school hockey soon. So yeah, he's great in the mix and And Eric's Eric's basic coach and number assistant coach there and and helping out. So it's it's fun. It's fun to be a part of for sure You'll be playing with one of his kids before yeah before we know it. Yeah, that's why he's still playing one year at a time There he ends one. Yeah, no, I was gonna say is like is Mark and Eric are they being like dude don't retire like he just plays look because that I know that's what I tell everybody now I'm like play as long as you can just just continue to do it. I've heard that line like multiple multiple multiple times from a lot of different people. So I will do as you said Ryan. Yeah, and so I'll try to play as long as I can and and I'll enjoy it It'll we get there will we get there will be times that will be tough, but that's that's all good. So I had everybody tell me to retire Yeah, yeah, yeah, I feel like dude, yeah, it's time buddy. It's time. I just got drafted Yeah You mentioned the trainer um and his influence on the team briefly We heard the backstory of the the cinder block and it weighing 35 pounds that you guys were made aware of But you mentioned he's a character too like what like what about him is like so inspiring or you know what makes him an unbelievable trainer Maybe more so than other ones around the league. Yeah, Billy. I don't know if you heard many stories when I I mean I won't start spewing them all out, but he uh he's he's a jersey guy through and through whatever that means to you guys with a lot of other people He's he's a character for sure and um Yeah, man. and he does a great job of bringing the guys together. I mean, we do like a stretch before, you know, every practice and, you know, you think team stretch and most guys, most guys that come in right away, they're like, "Oh my goodness, like we can do this." - Do you know what I'm saying? - You know, like, you're like, "This is stupid." And then, you know, you start doing it and this guy's, I mean, Bill is just such an idiot. And just so, it literally brings us together and it is so good and so funny, but also like, man, the guy works and he wants to get better. It's just all, basically what we've built, I think, in Carolina is like, we're gonna work, but we're gonna have fun doing it and that's it. Like, and he's the epitome of that. He couldn't, you know, I don't think he have a job anywhere else 'cause he needs to be with the guys, like 20 guys in the room, sure, 'cause like, I think he would have got HR called on him on any other topic, but like, he's been a credible dude and a hard worker and it's just another guy that you can just gravitate to and really just jump on board. And, you know, he's helped me a ton, not only just like the bringing the team together, but just me personally, with the workouts in the summer or keeping my body ready, he's done an incredible job. And yeah, Bill, he's an unbelievable addition for our team. - He won't be mic'd up in the behind the scenes. Look, run to the car. - Yeah, I don't know if yet. There were probably 31 liners that, I mean, you probably would be able to play a half the stuff, you know, stuff, but, yeah, he's, he skipped it. - Like, I remember, so I was struggling in Anaheim and gets he grabbed me one day and he's just kind of talking to me and I'm wondering for you, like, if Aho's getting riled up, you know, you see him get angry or a speck, just going through a dry spell. Are you somebody that's kind of taking guys aside one on one once in a while and helping them through a tough times or really pumping them up during great times, if you know what I mean. Like, are you talking to guys individually? - Yeah, there's certain players for sure. You know, I've had conversations with, I would say even just last year, I bet you stink. You know, he didn't struggle the start of the year, but, I mean, actually, pretty incredible. Just stepped right into a centerman's job and just tried to figure it out. And he did, you know, it was slower probably than he'd light throughout the start. So he was frustrated. I'm like, man, you're doing fine. Like, you know, they'll let you grab little things, you know, such he had some ups and downs last year. So you grab fish, I don't worry about fish, man. That guy's just like, oh, man, he gets, he gets fucking pissed off out there. - Yes, and I love that, and I think it's good. Now, let them do that. That's all good. But he's so dialed. He's got, he's the smart, he's so smart. And I don't worry about him ever. I don't worry about Slava, Marty. I don't worry about those guys. And they do a great job of taking care of one else too. So, yeah, there's times where there's moments where you're really watching guys and, you know, there's some ups and downs and everyone has around. It's just, no one's going to play incredible for 82 and now 84 somehow. But like, you know, it's like, no testing though. - Edy hit. - But no testing, great. So it's, it's, it's, it's fun to be a part of that too. But different, obviously, when I was with you with, but just a, it's a cool thing to be, to, yeah, come alongside guys who are striving or, you know, there's ups and downs and I've seen so much. So like, you know, I hope, I hope it resonates with the guys by grabbing every now and then. And, and, you know, from what I've seen, it seems to, seems still for a good times. But, but for the most part, you know, the guys we have in that room, that room, I don't worry about a whole lot of guys and just a lot of competitors. And that's, that's the way where I like to sit. - That means you're doing your job by not having the babysit so you're leading. But I was going to ask you, I know a lot of the credit and a lot of talk has gone to Bussy. But, you know, Freddie Guy got you guys there, right? Like, he was unreal for you guys. He won you a couple series and just a guy that's battled injuries, battled, you know, shit in the media and just so I was so happy for him. I got to know him at a skate one summer, unbelievable guy. But like, what did he mean to your group? - Yeah, Freddie, you're exactly right. Talk about the roller coasterer is for sure, especially in Carolina with some injuries, ups and downs and all the things in between. And just alone in that playoff run. Like, you know, obviously there, I'm sure there is media talk about who we're going to start this and that. You know, Bussy was incredible. Freddie's been our backbone for so long. He's steady, he's been unbelievable. And, you know, we went with him and my goodness. Like, well, he, I mean, that all of a series, like he played, he was by far the best player in that whole series. And, you know, you know, more or less that game, that series could have went seven in any moment. And he was a big reason why, you know, we got forced right there and so on and so forth. Right to the finals. I mean, you know, he gets, it gets damed up and can't play. And truly though, if you guys, if he plays that out and, you know, and plays, you know, plays the way he was doing the whole time, like he's a Cosmife winner. Like, that's, that's, that's what I would see it as. And he was incredible, our backbone the whole time. And, you know, so to see him go out and not be able to pair our part at the end. And it was a bomber form. And, you know, I'm sure he wanted to be in there so bad. But, but we wouldn't have been there without him. So he was a huge part of that win. And, and then obviously, you know, with Mr. Lemieux going down and all that, all that emotion and, and, and, and, you know, the way he carried himself through that all was incredible. And so it was, it had to go to him right away and in my mind. And, and I was just so happy to see him raise that cup. - If you want to touch on Bussie too, I mean, what, what, what a pick up off of waivers to start the year. And he has that incredible start too. So just to have two guys help kick and, and get it done. That's like, yeah. And like, were you guys, were you guys very confident when he was going in in the finals? And I was going to ask him particular because you mentioned like, you thought Freddie was supposed to be the cons might guy. But, you go against Vegas and you have the series. You didn't know all the sudden you win it, like, what a fucking rip, man. - Yeah, I mean, that was, yeah, that was a wild ride. I mean, for me at the end, but Buss, I mean, he, uh, when he, when he, when he teach jumped in that, like, some of this, like, I mean, some of those practices and stuff, you're like, okay, I see it, I see it. And then, you know, you get him a game, though, man, he, he's like, he's just, he's so dialed in chill, but also like, he's big and like, just gets in the way. And then, you know, next thing, you know, you know, we're, we're four four or five, we're five four and a minute left and he comes and just makes his massive save right at the end. And, you know, we get this win and we're moving on. And, you know, another win is like, and Allison, like, you know, five games straight, just like, you know, massive save again, you know, just to just at the end. And it's just like, he is, he had this gamer feel, you know, it's just like, you can feel it. Like, you know, whatever the score was, like, he's going to feel it. Like, he, he understands, like, that he's got to be, this is the moment that he needs to step up for us. And he just had that, that attitude and, and he made, he made some amazing saves right off the bat. And, and then a crazy run for him, you know, NHL, you know, records, you know, coming in starting and winning those games was so cool. See, and, you know, he's talking to me. He's like, like, he said, he was apparently working in Cholle like five years before. It's like, it's the wild story. Oh, yeah, like, did any of you guys know who he, like, when he was picked up, I'm guessing not many people knew, even you didn't give me guac that the fuck dude charged match for chips, double chicken pieces. Shit. And like, you know, no, I wouldn't say it probably a whole lot of guys, you know, knew, but, um, well, once you jumped on board in that first game, we're like, oh, we're, I think we're going to know this guy. And, um, just, uh, just a, just a, just an amazing dude to just chill, um, you know, uh, ready to work too and, and, and, and even kill and no, no drama just, just wants to go play goal and, and, and make insane the awesome things. And that's, that was on. That's the exact what we need. For you personally, from like a self motivating perspective, obviously, stand in the cup. But like, were you like, this might be your last chance at it. And you all of a sudden go nuclear in, in the last series. And I would imagine that was probably your guys toughest opponent. I know Ottawa, I've heard you guys talk about how I, I know it was a sweep. But I was tough. Vegas was kind of a different beast. And quickly, sorry, Stalsey, because this goes into that. Do you remember, um, do you remember Gary Roberts telling us that when we lost the Detroit about how you guys don't understand, like, you know, you might, do you remember that? Yeah. No, that's a great, that's a great story because I, I talked about guys about that before. And I remember sitting there when, when Rob said that. I'm like, I don't, I don't believe that. Like, I know, I know how big this is, like, I, like, I, like, like, I was like, let's go. Like, we need this now. Like, it's all, like, I'm thinking about. So, but maybe some guys didn't, I don't know. That's, that's the way I, my mom was going. So that speech may be resonated with other guys that maybe need to hear that. But, um, I, I didn't, I didn't want to say that, um, with our group. I was like, I think everyone, what was going on, what need to be done. And, and literally, I mean, we watched all our games. So, we didn't change anything. So it wasn't like, there was a, you know, moment where I was like, man, what are we doing? It was like, no, we're just, we'll figure this out. We'll get done. Like, we're keeping moving forward. And there wasn't really a crazy amount of hiccups in that finals. I mean, wild series, no getting it wrong. But like, you know, we were, we were heading the right direction. But, um, you know, I think, uh, that series was, I mean, I don't know. It was like, it felt like they were like, I mean, God was behind me. But, and I was just moving forward. And I would, like, all I could think about, honestly, best was like, yeah, I went nuclear, but I was not, I'm not thinking this is my last show. I was like, these guys need to win. Like I was like, and that's like the care factor that we've talked about in our room and how it's grown over the years. And then, and Brody, so that's gonna be our difference maker. Our C5 is, you know, compete consistently and then you care for each other and then you have your culture. And that care was a big one for me, especially in that finalist, man. I was just like, all that kind of pushing in my brain was like, these guys need to win. Like they need, it has to have to happen. Like I'm like, I have to happen, like, and I, I mean, you know, if I said, like, I have to win, maybe I wouldn't have played as well as I have. Like all I could think was how like, I need to see Slavo with that thing. I need to see Ahu with it. I need to see Marty with it and all these guys. And that's what I kept running through my brain, you know, throughout that finals. And obviously, you know, things were clicking and the puck was going in and I was feeling it. And, you know, it was, it was, it was incredible ride and I would never have dreamed anything like that. I mean, I'm sure a lot of you guys, I'm sure a lot of you guys are doing styles, heck of a player of all of love. But, you know, for that's all clicked for me personally, was, was an amazing, amazing moment. I would never dream of it. It still really has the sun came. I mean, I'm sitting up in the lake. I'm trying to get it to sink in and it can't, I just can't get it figured out. But maybe a well one day, I don't know, maybe never will. I just always feel like a dream. But it was, it was really cool. And yeah, what, what a ride. Just one quick follow up is it hard in those circumstances for you to stay in the moment? Like I would, like my biggest problem is like, you know, when you're, even when I was going for a call or a cup and it's not even like a comparison here is you're just like, you start sometime your mind gets a little bit ahead of yourself and you're just like, stay in the moment, stay in the moment, it's hard to do. - And did already winning help you with that? - Must have, right? - Yeah, it helped for sure. Not, three decades ago, honestly, that's it. I mean, once you get into the mix, it, it was, to be honest, like I always found that even each series that run, the first game is always hardest for me. 'Cause, you know, there's so many Wattests and you don't really know what this team's going to be. Like you don't know what you're up against until you play that game, you get into that first game, win or lose, you're like, and after every one of those game ones, I'm like, okay, like we can figure this game out and, you know, we can win this series, you know, it's like, so, you know, and once you get into this series, you know, to turn your mind off is really hard, and I'm a bit as I'm telling you, by the end it was, it was really, really hard 'cause like we were that close for me to like grab this cup was insane. So, yeah, I was up middle nights a lot, just trying to bury my brain and turn it off, and it wasn't easy, but just more excitement and anxieties are just getting the game started. Like basically the hardest part was just like, once that puck dropped, I was like, final. Like it was like, finally I can just just play and not have to think really and just play the game and I love and see what we can do with these fellas and try to win, and then the game would be done and I'm like, all right, like I'm just like, you're basically counting down the minutes until that next puck drop is you finally feel free of just like going on playing and not thinking. So it's hard, it's exhausting, and that's a big part of the playoff extraction, it's just like, you're just trying to calm your body down, chill out, but it's hard to do, and especially if close you get, it was incredibly hard to get your mind right and get your rest and then get ready for the next one. Well, you mentioned the first game being the hardest, then I believe it was the first game of the entire playoffs when you and Brady dropped the gloves in center base. Like what happened there? Was it you have a nerves? Was it him asking you vice-first? Like how did that all happen? 'Cause it was fucking iconic, and when it happened, I'm like, this is a start of a DVD championship. - I know. - You know, tidal things. - Yeah, it was, yeah, I mean, he's, I mean, you know, Brady is an exceptional player, physical player, it demands it and plays hard and honestly, I didn't even really think about it much before the series started, you know, but kind of just before the game, I'm like, oh, shit, you might ask me to fight. And I was like, all right. - That just popped in your head? - Yeah, I kind of did. I was like, I mean, I saw it, you know, world championships, whatever you did, the, you know, the four nations staying, and I was like, oh, that's, I'm like, maybe you might do it this time, and then that kind of left it at that. And then sure enough, like, it's like, you start some like, okay, and I'm starting against them where I figured I was playing against them. And, you know, I'm left with a draw and, you know, he kind of pokes his head up from the side of the circle. He's like, we're going to the series. I'm like, okay, and he's like, do you want to do it now? I'm like, all right. And that was it, play. And yeah, I mean- - I'm a gentleman. - How the way some kids? - And yeah, just kids and kids. But yeah, it was, you know, it was a cool moment. You know, I think it really, I think about our team together, I, you know, I think those Panther series, I think we got, you know, we got a muscle of it too much, and I regret not being doing a better job with that stuff, but I think not really fighting obviously after that, but the way we held our own against a really, a really physical team and a tough team. I thought you see a lot of other guys start caring for each other and stepping in in certain situations, and there were moments there that I hadn't seen in the past from our team. And I, and maybe that was part of, you know, Shrek and I a little bit right off the bat from what I did, but you could see, I think I was ready, I was ready to do anything, and I wanted to win. That was all I kept, I just want to win. And so if that's what it takes, and whatever I'll do it, I'll do it for the fouls, and we'll find a way to win this thing. If I get knocked out, you guys better figure it out, but like, you know, it's like, but like, let's do this thing. So that's kind of how it went, obviously, you know, a momentum they got from that was incredible. Our fans were behind it, and the boys rallied around it, and it was, it was a cool moment. The fan base is nuts to me because, you know, you saw some of the tough years in the building's empty, and I think the mega church. Yeah, and Tom Dunton mentioned it, and all of a sudden now, it's like, that place is rocking. It's a smaller building, but I'm interested off the ice. Like, are you getting stopped and recognized? Or is it kind of that feel of just like, "Hey, when they're at the games, they're unreal, but there's not much going on in terms of like, fans coming up to do it dinner or anything like that?" No, no, it's, there's still a little bit of that, but I don't know. I mean, the self, man, there's some good people out there, and they have respect for it. I would say a good story for that would be after we won. We were sitting at the restaurant. The guys eat pregardous. Yeah, it's gotta be a chain. Yeah, it was, it was all of garden, actually. You know, it was, it was played with Favacci, and, um, Benny Hanna's, Benny Hanna's. Busy's gotta fucking put a time job. He's fucking in the car. Everyone die a rear and everywhere. You do have a heartbeat with the rice. He's like, "Hey." "Wait, do you see the ball game of boys?" "I'm gonna wall it. I'm making league minimum again for the next six years." Whip and shrimp in the stalls, he's mulled. He served a fucking Jarvis' buddies, but they have to get the extended table. We've been on the patio, and, you know, um, the cups out there, and we're just having a few beers, hanging out, trying to figure out what we're gonna do with this thing the next day, and, uh, and people started figuring it out. And we didn't tell him we were coming besides the restaurant for the most part, but, and just very politely, they all just started making a line, and just like taking photos, and, and we would just sit there, and they were enjoying the cup, which is what you want, or you want them to experience it. And they just like, they made this nice line. They were taking photos, and everyone take their turn. They would leave, and they would say, "Good job, guys." And like, it was just like, I mean, it just like, I couldn't imagine that in any other city. It just like, it wouldn't, it wouldn't be like that. It would just be-- They were pulling up the seat. Oh, yeah. Oh, it was just, yeah. And like, so much respect, but, but so much energy, and so much love, too. I say, like, another story with Arkiniax is just like, in that, that building is incredible, man. Like, it's so loud, and, um, but, but they cheer, like, non-stop. Like, it's not like they're cheering for an amazing player, you know, a couple of players. Like, it's like, it's like, there's just a, there's a belly behind it, not like all the time. And especially players, obviously. But I'd say, like, a great example is game five. We're up three, nothing, I think. You know, they did, they scored that three-one, you know? And, you know, there's some time left. But like, you know, usually most players just go quiet. And like, and they did, like, you go a little quiet. But like, they literally just started, like, before they even stopped the puck again. The place just started to own dessert. But like, for nothing. Like, they hadn't even dropped the puck, and I'll see you here, like, another roar. And like, let's go, you, we got this. Like, and, no, they're behind us. Like, it was like, and like, it gets me to the shows, because like, that's so cool. Like, that's, that's something I, like, they're, like, they were, they were part of it, right? And they felt it, we felt it. And, um, such a cool connection with Arkiniax and how amazing they are as a fanbase. And, man, that city is grown. And it's a, it's a, it's a hockey town. No questions asked, like, you walk around and, and see what I've seen over the years. It's grown tenfolds. And it's, it's been so cool to be a part of and, and call roll at home. That's the aspect of it that, that it was just a place that was like, all down south. And now, you know, people really want to play there. And I think that the fans have a lot to do with that. You know, people may think that's crazy. But all of a sudden, you see a fanbase that's just so passionate about team. And I don't think you guys deal with, like, there's markets where the boobards may come out a little bit. But there, it just seems like they just love the team. It doesn't, it doesn't really happen the way it does. other place, even when we would criticize, like on the pond and we would post the clip, the fans would come at us like rap dogs. They would be, it might have been dundin burner accounts, being like, you can check the fucking analytics. You check them out. It might have a goal and these guys check out these spreadsheets. They, like you said, they have you guys back and then just going to experience conference finals there, which was, I guess, my last question is like, when you guys lost that first game, the Montreal, were you kind of super even keel or was there a bit of anger inside of you? Or were you more like fuck, we just had 12 days off because we swept the first two rounds were a little flat. There was all those things that they're honest to all that ran through my brain for sure. That's a great question. Now there is, there's some deep scars there. Obviously the media love the, the, you know, the line of us not being able to win games in these covers final and obviously, you know, we were rolling through two teams and then, you know, we get wax first game. You're like, what in the world? Like, no, like, and I was like, and every time I sat down the bench, I'm like, there's also a breakaway. I'm like, what is going on? What do we do? Like that, that was fun. I see that whole plan from the only time. I'm like, what in the world are we doing? And it did, it did, it did look like we, you know, a little bit too much time off as much as I hated that question between series. I'm like, it was just like, we, I mean, we practice nonstop and it's like, you know, what would you say? Is it rest or is it not like what's best? I'm like, would you want the, should we have given them two games against really like, what do you think? Like, of course, we're going to win every game no matter what. And then we'll figure it out after that. Like, we're going to take the rest. We're going to enjoy it. I felt incredible. Like for me as, like, for me is like, I mean, I honestly don't like truly believe if we went six, seven, seven and rolled into that finals, I wasn't playing the way I was in that finals. There's no way. But I was, I felt amazing. Like, but we, rightfully so because we had that rest, like, that, that is for sure. You know, obviously the young guys might have been fine, but for me personally, like, it was, there was for sure a game changer for us at the end and, um, and it helped me a ton. And, um, but yeah, that first game, I was like, oh crap. Here we go. Was there like a speech or a moment? Maybe it was then or in the finals, uh, could be that send a block story where like you just caught you, like something happened and it just like it was poetic and it kind of just righted the ship again and was there one moment that sticks out the most from like a meeting perspective? I mean, I, I like what I already said. Uh, well, I mean, after the game won a Montreal, like, he, he ripped us and was like, what are we doing? Like, that was not us and we'll show you. He's like, we'll show you tomorrow. We'll go through the video. And, uh, like I said, uh, I think I've said this before. That was from that game on in that series. I think that was the most clinical hockey we've ever played. That was crazy. It was like, they couldn't get the spot. I was polishing a turn on television for four years and I'm like, yeah, you know, maybe that's just, uh, yes, it was incredible. I mean, I felt like based and they didn't really touch the puck and we just played unbelievable. Everyone did though. It was like, you can see everyone was like, all right, like we're, we're kicking this door down. We've had enough of this, you know, the season compass BS and, um, and I would say the other speech was, uh, was actually a big one for me personally when Roddy came in after we lost that overtime and, uh, was it, uh, in Vegas to one, we were down to one. When you came back, came back, like, incredible, right? I mean, we were, we were kicking ourselves down four. We're like, let's just, you know, we, we just got to take chunks out of them, like, you know, whatever it looks like for here on out the rest of the game. And back from Bang scored three goals, like, shit, we're back in it. Let's go. And, and like, you know, and then, you know, we tied up and like, all the things you're like, you got to feel at momentum is common. We were, we were, we were, we did have them. We were playing better, obviously. They had an incredible bounce. We had some bounces too, but, you know, and the game's over. And that's it. And, you know, Roddy comes in and, and, and does this feel and I'm, I'm like, I'm already cross side. I'm like, I'm, you know, pissed, but like, and he does, but like he does the, you know, we lost the game, you know, lost because we gave up four ball ball. And I was like, yeah, then I, like, I don't ever say ever. Like, when he's talking, I was like, yeah. And he's like, we're, you know, we, we can't do that this and that. I was like, yeah, yeah. And then just like, you tell, like, I was both ready to snack. Marty's like, you were already blow a gasket, but, but then I also, and I love that you were about to snap on Roddy for, like, I was like, we got it. Like, I was like, this, like, we got it. Okay. Oh, we got this. And like, and he was like, and then bar after that, he said incredible lines. Like, no, no standing cup run has ever, ever happened where you feel like you're, you're, you might lose it. You might be out. You know, I mean, like there, there is no run where you ever feel like you're going to doubt that you might lose this whole thing. And there was a moment there, like, we were like, you know, we're down to one on the road and, you know, a crap, you know, obviously a crap loss and whatever, but, you know, there's, there's always a moment in any run that, like, you feel like you might lose it all. And, um, and that was kind of our moment, I think it was, you know, it was, it was only two one and we got that, but, you know, you get down three one, you know, and, and, you know, it's tough. So we came back. I thought that game four was incredible. Um, you know, and then we kind of took over, I think we took over that series. Obviously, I'm going to run the next three, but we were the better team from then on out, um, after that game and, um, and more consistent what we like to do. And I thought that speech was, uh, it was really, uh, a really big one for it. When Roddy left the room, did you address the team? Or it was just like, he kind of, no, I think what he said was, it was good. And I was like, that's your exactly right. Um, you know, that, honestly, like, I, I, there are moments where I have been dressed the room over the times, but, um, you know, I didn't, I honestly didn't feel like I had to that, that whole run was like, we lost three games. Like, and we were in, like, every other one from also even that much role and we were coming back, like, you know, there was, there was like what I saw out there, the guys were all in and, and that's why I was honestly probably so pissed off with that one because like, yes, we did lose it in the first four goals, but like, my goodness, we caught back and the guys were, the guys have this thing. Like, we had it. We just, we just can't do that again. And, but we have it. You know, so it was, it was, um, I wasn't a ton of talking by me and I didn't have to. I mean, I really didn't have to. There was, there was a few, you know, obviously pregame stuff that, you know, you try to plan to see it and what we want to do before a game, but, um, for the most part, um, after every game, I felt, I felt good about what we were doing out there and there was really no reason to, to, to say anything, uh, you know, besides what we were moving forward. But, um, so to speak about what I'm, I'm excited to share it with all of them. Like, and, and, and you know what, like all my cousins, they all have kids. And like, it's more than that. Like, it's like, yeah, I have like, you know, 40 cousins and all of four kids. Like, it's going to be incredible time. Um, and, and they all watched. Like, you know, they're all in it. And, and, um, they're like, so I'm like, we're, I'm gonna hopefully have a massive bash with, with all of them. And, um, that's my, my biggest exciting time for that. And obviously, um, love to share with Thunder Bay, um, love the city, love the people and, um, gonna do something with them. And, um, and then I'd, I'd love to take out the lake and, um, just enjoy a little, a little smaller time with, uh, with, um, you know, the bros and, um, and, and, and, and all the nieces and nephews and, and, and a few other people. I know I had an incredible final at walks. Like, that final was the best talk you've ever been played. - He was on real. - He was on real. Like he was physical. He was skating. He was like making great plays with the puck, you know, and he was an unsung for sure in regards to his play. I mean, Halsey and Stank and Blakey, that whole line, you can't say enough about, there's that's the massive reason why we got where we were 'cause of how that line was clicking and all three of those guys. And, you know, I think for me, you know, it's basically who I want to see. It's my three boys. I mean, it's Marty, Slavo, and Fishy. I mean, like, the years that we've been together, I mean, so many times just like, you know, we went through so much. And I was just so happy to watch them grab that thing and what they deserve and they deserve it, man. Those guys were harder than anyone. And so that was those are the guys who were running to remind. But the NHL.com story said that the names must be approved by the hockey hall fame in the NHL. But Sean Gentelli, I hope that's how you say his name. I've been talking to him once. - Sean Gentelli. - When he is. He works for the athletic. And the spokesperson from the hockey hall fame told the athletic that hockey ops, the NHL hockey operations signed off on it and that the hockey hall fame had nothing to do with it. So. - Well, they were on a boat party. - Yeah, yeah. - Yeah. - It was a long day away, you know, these guys got a little, little leeway there. It was a bit of a long day, you know. But yeah, you know, they could have put 55 names on. I guess the last team to do that was the 98 wings, like 29 non-player names. Yeah, putting the youngsters on it. I don't, yeah, I'm what you would. I don't really, I don't really buy it. They didn't really have anything to do with it. As far as the Bob, I think he's Bob Gohm and the, I think he was a pot time employee that might have, and I'm not just a fire, I'm not putting him on, but I think that may have had something to do with it. But yeah, I guess there was some sort of precedent here. But yeah, when you see in the little four and five with six year old kids names on there, and I don't know, I think there may be a process where they could maybe, you know, he's such a savage Tom Dunn. And if they win it again, not one player will be on it. No, yeah, yeah, yeah. He'll just have his neighbors on it. I'm sorry, you agree with my theory that at this point, everybody was like, we need summer, and we need non-hockey. So they were just like, ah, whatever, and like signed off on it. Seven my ties deep just didn't even care. Like, they just were like, they signed off on it. They're like, whatever, if this is what they want, this is what they want. Want, want, want. No, I don't think, I don't think that's the case at all. Okay. No, I don't know. It's just what I mean, you know, he's a billionaires, made a lot of dough in those guys. They might not have wanted to smoke with him. They might know that this guy is an animal and not wanted to like fight this battle. Yeah, I mean, at the end of the day, it's not the biggest deal in the world. He's just like I said, if that guy's name should have been on it, then yeah, you'd rather see that than one of his kids. But again, I don't know what the parameters are as far as pot time full time employees. But I think the one player nice from who do who peed. played 38 games, 41's the minimum. You can't petition, which they did for DeLaurie, 'cause he only played seven games in the regular season. I have to get traded there. They played one playoff game, but you can make a petition in the league and approve it. Like the Bruins did with Moxavad, who didn't play it all in 2010, 2011, but still got his name. - So it's over, it's 41 or more games in the regular season or one game in the finals. - One game in the final, yeah. Yeah, but again, they, I think it was '94, they brought in that new rule where you can, you know, make a petition for a guy, like a Jotavad. - So it's a defend him outside of that one play you just mentioned. Was there anyone else other than him and the trainer that maybe should have been on that didn't get on? 'Cause maybe like we're making a big gripe where maybe they use so few amount of guys compared to other teams. They lost their sports radio stations, fans out there, not too happy. Rodgers shut down six radio stations in Vancouver, Calgary Halifax and Kitchener, Vancouver lost sports and at 650 and news 1130, Calgary lost sports, that 966 news radio. This is obviously a huge loss for fans. Of course, the people who lost their jobs, we feel terrible for, you know, media has been kind of shrinking and shrinking and, you know, companies are just tighting and belts all over the place. So, I do feel awful for these people who lost their jobs. And again, the fans who lose that connection. And, you know, and obviously, you know, Rodgers has a connection to Toronto. So, that feeds into the, everybody is, you know, there's a Toronto fan and they, you know, they ignore the feet teams out West. So, either way, just, I want to acknowledge that. That's a tough loss for, again, the people who lost their jobs and the fans who lose that. Yeah, there are livelihoods, man. It's like, you know, it's what keeps the wheels spinning too. So, that's, that's socks. Let's hope these people land on their feet and figure out what the next move is. It's brutal. It's like you said, all right. It's been happening a lot like every year. It seems like a few stations or a few groups of guys and girls lose their jobs due to these, these network slowing down on the radio front. Yeah, it stinks. I know you guys mentioned the World Cup a few minutes ago with down to the final four. France versus Spain today, Tuesday, three o'clock, England versus Argentina, Wednesday at three o'clock. The two winners of those games will play Sunday, 3pm at East Rutherford, New Jersey. I've read that it's the first time ever that the final four in the World Cup are the top four ranked teams in the World Cup. Okay, I saw that. Yeah, which is kind of crazy. That's never happened before. It's sort of almost reminiscent of like an NHL playoff where there was so much like awesome games and wild stuff that happened, but at the end of the day we still basically have the chalk that's going to be playing for the end of you. And what's the the basis of it is like global warming or something and something's gonna mess up and they have to like all these rich people have to like dig into their own money to spend to like save the world. I'm sure those people will be saving everyone else too. I'm not even sure. I try to go in a movie, somebody even blind like like I think trailers give way too much weight. What I do is I start a trailer and the minute I'm like I want to see it, I turn it off. Yeah. Exactly. Yeah. But I will say back to you mentioning Dune and Star Wars, I got one buddy who I know is like me. I know there's others showed up just in my eyes or the my dog. I don't watch fake stuff. I'm not a big. Yeah. I'm not big. I don't really watch stuff that like extra terrestrial. Like I like fiction. I like that movie of Ryan Gosling that just came out. I guess that's considered. But I'm talking like Star Wars, Star Trek, Lord of the Rings, I don't. Although I like Game of Thrones. I like Game of Thrones. That was the one I said, the miser you'd like is like no, no, no, no fake stuff. But I'm not. Yeah. I don't really watch for the most part things that aren't like or could be real. All right. I need a good documentary for our flight over London. Could I stand out? I think I mentioned it a couple of weeks ago in here, about the about the dude who was born with a facial deformity and he become he gets into a wrestling as a kid. Phenomenal. It's obviously a true story. I can't recommend that. I recommend that one enough if you look up for that. It's called the story on the London family. Done, done, done, put the name on it. What was I going to say? Oh, the Odyssey, that's coming out this week as well. That's going to see that Saturday night. We'll have to get aaves on in the next couple of weeks to talk about it. I love the bomb. It's that Stanley Kubrick directed the shining a clockwork orange. A tons of fucking other stuff. But this is a he made a black comedy about the black Cold War in the midst of the Cold War. I think it came out in 1964. And you know, people were like, I thought we were on the brink of like global disaster. And he made like a comedy, a black comedy about it. Peter Sellers who played the Pink Panther. He plays like three different roles. Again, old flick. Awesome. One of the best dark black comedies of all time. Give that a world. Dr. Strange Love. If you're looking for something to watch.
