And who's the bad guy?
The official Barstool Sports social deduction game from the brilliant mind of Nick Teraney.
In what's quickly becoming the most popular new party game around,
players are secretly assigned unique roles with the good guys trying to expose the bad guys
and the bad guys doing everything they can to stay hidden.
Each game unfolds under alternating day and night phases
with roles like the cool chick, the shy guy, the gambler, el presidente,
the mentalist, the planner, the funny guy,
and more.
Every round is unpredictable, chaotic, and ridiculously fun.
Who's the bad guy is great for parties, pregames, family gatherings,
or groups who just love deception-based games.
Game night will never be the same.

Maybe a little bit of recency bias, but this is unbelievable.
Maybe last year through game one and two.
Yes, similar incredible games, but it wasn't like that in game.
Game three, Edmonton, Florida.
And I'll tell you right now, we're witnessing history game after game after game.
And I can't believe it.
And my favorite part personally is the city of Toronto.
They didn't even make the playoffs.
And it's like worse than when they watched their team lose a 2-0 lead to the Panthers last year.
So incredible stuff.
Saturday night, as Meme says, is going to be a movie.
It was a movie.
And it was an unreal movie because it was over in the second period.
I want the show.
After the second period, I went to shower.
I was going to like a bar mitzvah party afterward.
And I'm like, oh, this is done.
So I might as well just like stop watching the game.
I figured we could just assess the first two periods.
I come out of the shower with the towel around me.
It's fucking 4-3.
The group chat's buzzing.
And Merles, were you in Stockholm at the time?
Yeah, I was in the airport.
I woke up probably an hour into the game.
So I'm watching on delay.
And then it's 4-0.
I said, all right, that's it.
Pack the bags, head to the terminal.
And group chat just keeps going.
And I'm not looking.
I'm not looking at it.
But I see the numbers just keep building.
I'm like, what's wrong with these losers?
It's 4-0.
Just stop talking about the game.
Go to bed.
Play with your kids or something if they're still awake.
And lo and behold, next thing you know, it's 4-4.
And I was disgusted because I had Vegas in regulation.
Same here.
So kind of nice, though, that you didn't have to watch the intermissions.
You could just go right back to gameplay.
And then you thought maybe, oh, the reason the group chat's buzzing
is because the Marner penalty shot.
Yeah, exactly.
I'm like, oh, all right.
That's why.
They're buzzing.
Marner's getting a penalty shot.
And then next thing you know, and it's also really weird.
It's nice you skip the commercials, but I had Swedish announcers.
So I'm not picking up anything where, you know, like hiding the lead.
We've got Ray Ferraro coming on later.
I like when I can hear the announcers and they give you that little bit
of extra info.
Sean McDonough and Ray Ferraro have been unreal.
I think these broadcasts have been excellent.
McDonough does every sport.
He's really good at it.

Stella Blue Coffee.
Wow.
That's a long read.
That's a long one.
That's a long read.
Let me stretch out a little bit.
Little pinkies up, Merz horn.
Little downward dog in our living room.
I can't do that, though, anymore.
I got a question.
What would the live line have been on DraftKings?
It was.
It was.
It was 70 to 1.
I saw plus 8,000 somebody posted.
I saw 7,000 when it was 4-0.
And they locked Vegas.
You couldn't even take Vegas.
There's no chance.
And in the second period, I said, wow, like, Carolina had no business winning game two.
You know, you're down 2-0 to this team under 10 minutes to go.
It's over.
They come back.
They win it on the Torch Challenge.
We went over that.
It was great doing that last show after the game.
I said, this kind of sucks.
And this kind of proves.
Is Vegas just way better than them?
Because this is a complete drumming.
It's 6-0, basically.
Now, they weren't goals.
And they were perfectly reviewed.
It was offsides.
Offsides review.
I can't stand.
But that's the rule.
It was offsides.
The second one, I couldn't believe Anderson didn't get taken out of the game.
Oh, I know.
If my dad was with me, he's like, Barbershop.
He could have broke his neck.
Any other year, like, there was contact in years past where he would have been out of
the game far less.
So, shout out to him for staying in there.
That's one of those ones, though.
I think someone texted the group.
You wake up the next day, and you got, like, the neck brace on because it's so stiff, right?
Yeah.
And we ended up seeing a goalie anyways.
But all of a sudden, the third period starts.
I don't know what Vegas was.
Like, I don't want to give Carolina all the credit because they played phenomenal.
But Vegas, even towards the end, he goes, second period's the best period of our playoff.
Third period, I don't know what we were doing.
Is that an example of them being like, this thing's done?
Like, we just watched the greatest 6-minute and 30-second span a hockey player's ever had.
In the playoffs.
In the playoffs.
Quickest hat-trick, right, ever?
Yeah.
In the Stanley Cup.
We saw the quickest hat-trick ever.
We saw two goals taken off the board.
We saw two own goals, including the double overtime winner.
But in the third period, I don't really know what happened.
Like, I was on Wake Up Barstool.
Neither do I.
I was scrubbing my nuts.
I was on Wake Up Barstool today, and Portnoy said, he's like, could you even score three
goals in 39 seconds if it was five on just a goalie?
Think about it.
39.
How is that possible?
I feel like we used to do that as a drill sometimes, and you had trouble scoring three
on 0.
Yeah.
And they got, I don't get how it happened.
I don't understand, like, where it went for Vegas.
Like, they were trying to get too cute.
Like, Stone had, like, a half break where he took a slap shot.
And what was the play?
The backdoor play.
Smith, the Dorofeev had.
The worst play in the history of the Cup Finals.
They were just getting too cute.
And it's like, you got to step on that road there.
This is one of the conversations at dinner was Dorofeev literally going like, what the
fuck, bro?
Speaking of DraftKings, it screwed up our DraftKings parlay that we're two for three
in the finals on them, boys.
Like, we're crushing it.
And then all he had to do was slide it over to him, and we would have catched another
It's hard if people weren't, like, dialed in, dialed in, watching.
They're probably like, what are you talking about?
I believe it was a 4-3 game at the time.
And Cole Smith got an opportunity where he just literally had to slide it over to Dorofeev
for the biggest empty net goal you've ever seen.
Dorofeev's not going to miss that.
And he elected to shoot it.
And he kind of like.
On the ice.
You know, and I think Cole Smith might have set a record for hits in a playoff.
Yeah, he's been a machine.
Like, we're not taking away from him.
That's his role.
Like, he's doing his job.
Straight line.
And his role is not to be like looking off a goalie and dishing it through the crease.
But he's like, oh, I'm trying to ransom.
Oh, he shoots it short side.
It actually was a pretty good shot.
Dorofeev, stick cocked, and he's like, what the fuck?
He's still standing there right now.
He couldn't believe it.
And I was like, oh, my God.
He poked a guy in the top deck's eye out.
Oh, my God.
That's how high his stick was.
Waiting for that.
And then was it Shea Theodore?
He flips it out.
Now, that's a question where I love the high flip.
And early in that game, there was a bunch of high flips.
Oh, yeah.
High flip creates fits.
I loved.
I think the high flip.
I actually, last episode, I didn't even mention.
We were talking about how good it is.
It's hard.
Okay, so why it's hard is.
I whiffed on it all the time.
Okay, so let's explain to the normal casual why it's so hard.
When you're doing it in practice, there's nobody taking runs at you.
You're not worried.
getting hit.
nothing like on the line actually you're just simply practicing like a like a nice soft high
flip and typically you keep like pretty pretty light hands well sometimes in games when you got
a guy breathing down your neck you kind of stiffen up or you like rush the cadence and that's when
you see them like flub and not go anywhere and or sometimes you really get a hold of one with a flick
of the wrist and you saw what theodore did where some guys are so good at it like pumps punts too
far like some guys even on the kill like derrick morris like he would clear the puck from in his
own end all the way over the glass on the far end which would be another delay a game i've seen
people hit the jumbotron you're like whoa dude that one got away from you yeah that that's
obviously not a penalty but that's why it's so hard to do like certain guys i mean marner can do
it on his back he's unbelievable yeah like doing the high flip and making sure you have the right
cadence on it to punt it and the fact that if it doesn't go anywhere the d-man on the on the blue
line just
gonna grab it and keep it in and then you're and then you're hemmed in um i think that if we don't
mention what braden mcnab did so i call i want to label it the m&m game the marner mcnab okay he had
two assists he now has five assists in this series he played over 34 minutes people wanted to be able
to go full cage on i think he said he hadn't worn a full cage since before the whl yeah what was he
16 15 years old i think more impressive than mcnab is the doctor
the
guy i walking in i'm like did he i don't even did he even get hit in the face but then once you got
close up you could tell and it was jagged it was almost like his nose was like falling off and he
had covered up his face we never saw it i guess he's probably going to go into the exact injury
when the series is over but to show up the way he did they're yelling warrior warrior at him after
the game apparently when he walks in the room he's one of the three stars theodore is obviously one
of the stars scoring the game winner they're hugging the other partners forever i i think it
would be your old boy that you ran out of t.o mitchell marner so mcnab i guess no questions
he was he was getting this done i mean he said he woke up and felt good but i think well he's
from sask you just have to be a little bit tapped in the brain to be able to like play through that
like you you mouth breathing is a whole different element like like typically
yans you would know yeah are you a mouth breather no i'm saying like describe it playing 30 minutes
where like all of a sudden like your your nasal breathing breathing's taken away from you from a
game where you're used to like the way that you take in oxygen throughout a performance yeah even
if you're sick and have like a stuffy nose it's brutal never mind if your nose is legit yeah that's
what i would like i can't go in and i do it i got the sniffles yeah but if you're used to breathing
out of your nose out in your mouth out your nose and then you can't do that you're playing 36
minutes and i only saw the one time it was hall's goal like the puck kind of got lost and it's from
having the cage on yeah he kind of lost it and then he's like oh my god i can't do it i can't do it
kind of lost the puck a little bit and halls he ended up scoring that was the only blunder
i saw with him he got him back though yeah he did oh my god having that mask on is a nightmare when
you have to look down when you haven't worn one in so long like the fact i mean he made some great
plays too absolute warrior that guy is i cannot believe i can't believe because he's a western
leaguer that he played you know it's a bad injury because i saw a quote from him and he said something
or somebody said i don't know what it was 20 or 30 stitches when the doctor just loses track he's
just trying to get it done yeah
that dog's like don't worry about it bud i have no clue i'm stitching your nose back to your face
i just does he typically start games because it's such a vet move by a coach to get the boys fired
up or and the crowd like knowing that he's going to get that chara ovation like that's the last
time we've seen something like that since the chara thing right and they did ours was a broken
jaw so it's even i think a little above this one yeah personally the jaw yeah yeah no no he's
anything away he's going you can't eat well one's going strictly nasal breathing
one's going strictly mouth breathing so either way right but the jaw you can't eat you're not
having a shake maybe and that guy's 270 pounds like that's how that's it yeah let's start let's
start in the second period first period a little bit of a snoozer it was a snooze nine shots
completely panicked we are streaming tomorrow night's game four and with what we've seen the
first three games with us now streaming i'm guessing we get a one nothing 18 to 16 shot
game i'm really hoping that's not the case but we ruin everything we touch
but back to this game but i gotta say like the first period i thought carolina was way better
yes they were good early again and i did not like i'm a vegas guy i did not like the line changes
i i didn't like how they moved stone up there i thought i thought they weren't the same team i
liked how stone and hurdle they were effective and eichel can carry dorothea and barbara yeah
but sometimes sometimes the coaches i've noticed are doing it more as a reboot like carolina's done
it a few times carolina's been in a blend of the whole series yeah they have but sometimes they'll
do it and then go right back to it and then they're like oh my god i'm gonna do it again
after like two three shifts right so i don't know maybe sometimes it's just like a like a little
wake-up call and then you and then you put it and or maybe it's a coaching tactic to throw off the
other team a little bit like where like they're kind of like ah what's going on over there and
the next thing you know they're right back to normal so hey something hey it obviously worked
because second period they came out with their dicks out with the what's what's the dick pill
we use now uh rugia how could i forget how could i forget in puerto rico i'll never forget that one
what do you okay oh yeah okay so you brought you brought it uh we're gonna move on to period two
so you brought the old turn another one it starts off hurdle gets another one
eichel with an incredible pass now marner had the second assist on that didn't really notice it but
fine fine marner started his night off and the secondary says the whitney assist as some people
may call it and eichel finds hurdle i don't know if you look back at what chatfield was doing
chatfield was it looked like he was covering the half ball guy on the opposite side i don't really
understand and now granted they have a great pk hurdles wide open buries it then the marner show
begins now the first one i felt bad for sean walker like i that's the play right you see a puck going
through the crease you just boom and all of a sudden you tip it is anderson supposed to get
that is that a crazy comment yeah i think so but like some people may say like i don't know it went
posting in it went posting i think everything everything all just bad everything marner's
touch and turn into gold right now so that's just that's the perfect bounce
there and then he gets the next one the next one was so sick because it was originally what was his
first chance that he missed it was a breakaway breakaway missed the breakaway and then he gets
it back don't really know the defense by carolina there that move was sick he waits him out he goes
to the backhand this time the four he tried going on the forehand on the breakaway was it mcnab
staying aggressive inside the blue line that kept it alive he made the pass over i think somebody
missed a high flip like you just talked about yeah they did okay they fumbled the high flip
and mcnab was all over it sniffing it
and he's coming down right down the middle made a great play over to marner and then we see i don't
even remember seeing him take a slap shot in toronto but he's busting down the wing bro he's
taking more slap bossy coming out of the wing posting it and i'm like this is the most incredible
thing i've ever the hardest slap shot goal of all the playoffs apparently as far as miles per hour
no no no you must have read something wrong somebody's trolling you
even like the hardest slap shot goal of the playoffs like the jarvis one-timer even wasn't
harder i think he's i think you read this on like some ridiculous no i think i spuddy that all these
crazy stats are coming out but somebody also tweeted that he's kind of got that classic 80s
clapper where it's just like it's it's a it's like a very like slow cadence but fuck that he gets
some pretty good wood on that thing and it's almost like a twisted wrister because of how
like how the cadence is going i love the word cadence cadence is in the vocab today
that's gonna be that's gonna be that hit anderson's pad that was walker okay block either
way he got a piece of it and it's like oh buddy we need a save right here but after that i was like
this guy well that locked up the cons mike the most goals he ever had in one playoff with toronto
was three he had three and six god damn but it's now in the second period of a cup final again and
i'm like what are we how is this happening so between a player yeah between 2019 and 2025 he
had three and six god damn but it's now in the second period of a cup final again and i'm like
total playoff goals with the toronto maple leafs and he's got the same amount in this playoff
and he now has the most points for a vegas gold knight player ever ever in playoff ever so yeah
he's locked up the cons might if they win only only minus 200 if you want to go on draft games
yeah i think he gets it win or lose i don't know no winterson's done i would say i would say he's
done more individually than any other carolina player so i don't like disagree with your take
i believe it was
before the colorado series he was what 12 to 1 or was that even like a couple games into that
series before this series i thought it was like plus 200 right around before the colorado series
began he was 12 to 1 to win the cons might and then vegas was still pretty good odds to to end
up winning the stanley cop but i think everybody agrees here that he has that thing locked up and
they are winning it there's no way they don't win that series now after winning game three
it's over buddy i think this has been over since the the start of the season
like i'm shocked that it's transpired the way that it has that particular loss here's the only
way that carolina wins this series if rod the bod has the balls to start bussy in game four i do not
think he's gonna do it i think that anderson has earned that start in game four my biggest gripe
is and i know he's going through a lot is when there's these breakdowns that they are gonna have
that's inevitable that it's gonna happen against vegas and they're gonna win those one-on-one battles
most of the time when they're getting the grade A
it's finding its way in where
gussie the way that he skates and he moves he's able to take those quick one-on-ones and
and like in like short breakaways and even if they get a second crack he battles he's not like
already on his stomach where sometimes i find when they're when they're getting the second crack and
anderson is in that he's kind of already swimming a little bit and it's a like i think we can all
agree up until this point like it was a lot of one and dones and he wasn't tested that much i mean
some of these games he was getting 12 15 shots not to say to stay awake and be alert and when
you do get that one chance he ends up making the stop i just think vegas is a different beast
bussy's been resting i know maybe he fell off in the second part of the season but what i saw in
the first half and what i saw getting thrown in cold in that third period which mitch martyr
didn't even realize they switched a goalie when he went in for his penalty shot i don't know if
you read that you know you're feeling i i think that's the only way they can come back and win
this series so you think you
think rod the bod is gonna go with bussy no i don't think he is i think i think i think he's
crazy if he doesn't and and i i did say i used your line uh this morning on the on wake up bar
so i said it no i said um that it's the toughest decision brindamore's maybe ever ever had in this
and blotman was going bananas he's like this is the easiest decision a coach has ever had
he started the wrong guy
game one of the playoffs i go blotman he he he won 12 games he lost one game it's the best numbers
he's like well it was auto of philly and marchal it's not right because in in this series he gave
up five and then he gave up three that's eight then he gave up four and that's 12 and three
games that's actually 12 and less than three games he didn't play the third period of game three
and with how bussy looked are you saying it's tough because anderson's got him there i i think
i think it's tough for a lot of reasons he's been there a while he's the more veteran goalie
and if you
do make that call and it's the wrong call it's like 1000 series over no you go back to him at
home yeah then you got freddie at home that's fine but i'm going to give you a prime example
what type of like what type of playoff runs has carter hart been on in his career i don't believe
ever right so he comes back from injury and in that utah series he had a couple tough outings
you were calling for his job i wasn't calling for his job i was just saying i can't believe
yeah i i the reason
that the reason i'm saying that is okay boys he won a cup for him there you go you're fucking
answering my question we're talking about a rookie goaltender who went on a hot streak at the start of
the year compared to a guy who went on a full playoff run and won a stanley cup with the golden
knights and i watched you with my own eyes even against florida like he was making big safes he
helped them win a stanley cup he made the saves that he needed to so when you have a goalie who's
never been on a playoff run he just goes and he's like oh my god i'm gonna win a playoff run i'm gonna
get a shot back from injury and he's struggling against a utah team where i think back-to-back
games he led up like four maybe back-to-back even late in the game torts didn't take him out and put
he said you're my guy you're my guy you're my guy and maybe in order for freddie anderson to
to steal one he just needs rod to say you're my guy you're going in game four i got the whole
world in my ear saying i should start busty based on what we saw in the third period he's fresh
and and maybe those one-on-ones in the third period he's fresh and and maybe those one-on-ones
in the third period he's fresh and and maybe those one-on-ones in the third period he's fresh
and and maybe those one-on-ones in the third period he's fresh and and maybe those breakaways he can stop
but you're my fucking god okay you gotta start if they start if they start you're my fucking god
buddy listen listen i know you like aiden hill i know you like aiden hill this aiden hill gets
him going listen he loves it hey i know i know i know they're playing florida had six healthy
players but yes he won the cup if anderson starts and vegas goes up one nothing and the goal sketchy
see ya that's how it has to be that's
see ya that's how it has to be and that's why i think you start bossy i think if you're going in
with that mentality that is a loser mentality what do you mean dude you're starting a kid who
broke an nhl record for a start of a career and what was he 23 and one you love bussy
and boom he had to take a left over to raleigh and he fucking went 23 and with the boy he was
playing dice at a 7-eleven
in vegas he two shutout periods the third period the first ot he was unbelievable
yeah the goal is it's you gotta go with him and then it's perfect you're gonna lose anyway like
you said vegas is winning but you have a chance then when you go home be like all right freddie
back to you you're at home what if you lose this game then what do you do at home
what if freddie's then then you really screwed up because freddie's good at home
yeah that's why you have but he wasn't in in game one well not this series but
i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know
i think we should if bussy wins i i think well then i think we should flip a coin right now to
see who starts all right what are the chances anyone has a coin in 2026 i know seriously
nobody memes okay so uh memes they get a toonie names are still in pearson i had a toonie but i
bought 20 timbits with my fucking fake i got a question so torts takes a lot of heat game too
um for the challenge okay i thought he was gonna challenge the the the second non-goal he could
yeah but i i
i i think he realized like i can't get another one wrong but if they'd lost this game he would
have taken 10 times the heat that he took in game no time i don't believe he didn't call time out i
couldn't understand it but you get two in whatever 30 seconds yeah time out time out yeah but no he
doesn't take it they give up another one but you got to keep that time out if you're gonna have to
challenge something i don't think you're worrying about a challenge i think you're too deep in the
game challenge is not even i mean i don't think you're worrying about a challenge i think you're
the challenges haven't worked for him let's why are we saving that we just gave up two in 30 seconds
and then he doesn't even take one after the third i think at that point he should have put in going
over should have put in hill i love you guys give me where what side you lie on that one with the
hill one he's like vegas and five since vegas and five april um the the the thing that's crazy about
it too is that you're at home so if you call the time out it's quiet yeah so you're it's just like
boys you can act like you're at home it's like you're at home it's like you're at home it's like
you actually have a conversation you're not like screaming at your players over the crowd noise so
i agree with you crazy that he didn't call the time out i thought he was gonna have a fucking
aneurysm when theodore put that one over the glass and how about all of a sudden carolina's power play
is just snapping it around like fucking edmonton oilers how about the keep in by ajo when somebody
swatted with his hand keep it in then they score that was on my legs were burning watching doubt
and sissons out there like those they could they they started it they lost the draw they couldn't
you can just see them straight like a dog's brain shut off he put somebody through the crease
he put somebody through the goalie i i uh tweeted out like i i don't think two teams have ever
deserved two days off yeah it's a good tweet the second overtime guys are just gassed out there
they couldn't really get much going and then i did feel brutal i felt bad for martin and i felt bad
for bussy like martin nothing either one of them could do maybe bussy's a little out too out a
it's just like handcuffed him he's like all of a sudden it's by his stick it's by his feet
it's in the back of that you knew it'd be a shitty goal they're always a shitty goal as games go deep
like that but heart made a save on jankowski in the first overtime was three minutes in it was
kind of it was a little two on oh in front and he kicked out the right pad that was an unreal save
bussy had some good ones hell hell would have made that look routine but it was so really nice save
uh he also made one on on hall hall shot one from the side it was down just just hit his back
almost had the game winner for that would have been nice carolina was all over in the first like
six minutes i was like oh the ice is tilted big time here then vegas cleaned it up did you guys
see the the footage of uh the owner bill foley yeah i think mcfee there a chance and mcfee's like
on something during these games buddy i told you that's pinky in the brain going at it did i
fucking call that he was going insane like motherfucker standing up going down and then
he's how he's hogging bill foley after bill foley's like oh yeah
but the one clip of mcfee where it's like i think it's like 40 seconds but at one point he stands up
he says fuck about eight times he's i don't know who he's screaming at if he was miked up oh i don't
even know if they could field an ahl team because nobody would want to play there about what what
he's probably motherfucking his own plan wouldn't even want to go there larkin would be like yeah
take him off my list yeah we'll get into that i yeah i think he's the type of guy that probably
like after a game
he's like yeah i need to like de-stress here because i've been motherfucking every guy but
what's crazy is like you see him like that and then after the game he's like good game boys
yeah yeah yeah i know he mccrimmon's a little bit more like chill he's more of the the brains
of the operation he was building a lego set in double overtime they didn't show that i got a
special clip sent to me you know it was a naval ship you're like you're a fucking little you're
like one of those lasers that burns holes yeah something special to the lego set for sure but um
yeah just a wild series the highest scoring series in the cup final through three games at 45 years
wow and it's just been it's been crazy i'm very worried about game four shout out jordan stall too
like scoring every game now guys oh like 37 was sick unbelievably so good three there the face
offs he's unreal on the draws like and it's just a possession and i saw it like i'm telling you
these seven game series why i like the big d on that goal stall wins it back you see rasmus and
standing there, he wanted no part
going to deal with jordan stall stall stick wide open tips it in if that's a big d if that's mcnabb
he's right over there on him engage with him lifting the stick the goal yeah murr's been on
anderson a little bit i don't think i don't think he knows it's a stanley cup final sometimes but
maybe that's a good maybe that's him you know sometimes they're like some guys are just they
never get too high too i mean imagine if he was like mcfee imagine mcfee in this game hey we have
a 30 game suspension oh yeah no he'd be squeezing somebody's nuts at the bottom of the pile you guys
mentioned jordan stall there pretty cool fact he joined brad marshand as the second player
age 37 or older to score in the first three games of stanley cup final yeah marshand buried the
others last year now i i'm wondering like anderson he maybe hasn't looked great mcnabb's back if he
was out that was a big problem hannifin left the game and i don't know how long he was gone for but
at the same time carrie's out now and and also chatfield was a little banged up that was one
of the points like it feels like the guy you said the two days off
feels like a lot of guys were going down the tunnel and although both teams got good rest
after like not playing many games in the third round the the the wear and tear is really starting
to show and that's another reason why i favor vegas big time did chatfield get hurt when they
opened the door on him and he got a little bit but he got more hurt on just like it looked like
just like a casual hit i think it was like maybe like like midway through the first period and then
he ended up going down the tunnel but once again came back so it just seemed like it seemed like
three or four guys went down the tunnel i was impressed hall stayed in the game i thought he
collapsed he's got his lung collapsed by mcnabb yeah halsey's face he's on the bench so what i
love about halsey is i always thought that halsey was like a like true true honest player where i
feel like he's flirted the line perfectly these playoffs where he threw that hit on sanderson
i think he got sanheim in the in the second round and he got yeah it's montreal he got hudson three
defensemen on each team he's kind of he kind of got the bennett move going he's got the bennett
he's got the bennett going big trip said he was better for them he uh yeah he did he did he said
when they went crazy on him it was hannifin it was he bumped so the the puck was frozen it went
to carter hart and hannifin was kind of like going back in case he didn't freeze it and then
hall halsey just gave him that perfect bump and then he crashes into to carter hart and carter
hart like keels over like what if you know what if he fucking hurts his neck or tweaks his knee or
something like that comes out of his neck and he's like oh my god he's like oh my god he's like oh my
For fuck's sake, you fucking assholes.
You fucking assholes.
Hey, I kind of liked how there was. Hey, this is calling a bomb threat, but I'm the spotter threat.
I kind of liked how there was no call because there could have technically been one on Hall for the hit.
But Anderson jumped three feet in the air.
Oh, yeah, to get Stahl.
No, it was to get Hall.
He jumped on Stahl's back, not even Halsey's.
Wrong guy.
Wrong guy.
Oh, he couldn't get to Stahl or Hall, and he got to Stahl?
He's like, fuck it.
Gunner Stahl?
Fuck it, I see an A and an L.
I see an A and an L and an L.
Good enough.
What round is this?
Stahl is just one L, isn't it?
At the mall with a ball.
S-T-A-A-L?
Yeah, sorry, Biz.
No.
It's one L.
Yeah, it's just one.
Two A's, one L.
What's your word?
Hell's got two.
Cadence of the L's.
Hey, Hell's got two.
And we're back.
We're back, baby.
We're live.
Stanley Cup Finals.
What else from this game?
What the hell else?
The minutes played, very impressive by some of these guys.
Six minutes for McNabb.
Have we talked about Marner yet?
We've mentioned this, Mark.
I think we should go back to it.
We've mentioned what we witnessed.
Did you guys think the Ajo-Marner's breakaway was so unnecessary?
Like, I feel like you could have caught him and just picked him.
Oh, you know what we should talk about is the greasy cross-check from Walker
to break Marner.
That was Marner's hat-trick stick.
Yeah, that'll actually look cooler in the Hall of Fame.
In the Hall of Fame, like, broken.
He was choked about that stick being broke.
It's like, dude, we don't pay for them.
Yeah.
No, I think he was mad because it was his hat-trick stick.
Oh.
I think I've told that story before in the AHL when you had to use CCM,
but Chicago Wolves, you could buy your own and use Easton if you want,
and the guy Devereaux used to buy his own Easton to use them,
but one of his ended up in our bench.
It was in San Antonio.
I don't know if you were still there, but Caldwell took it,
looked him right in the face, snapped it.
He's like, no, I paid for my sticks.
Oh, no.
It was like the same luck.
Boys, all right, Ray Ferraro's crushing it this series.
He's ready to go.
How does he have the energy to come on?
He's not playing in the game.
Well, fuck, he's calling double OTs.
Come on.
I know, but, buddy, he's just ready to go.
He's a professional.

I got one thing before we bring on Ray, and it's more Marner.
How good I just read that?
Yeah, you've been on fire with those.
Thanks, guys.
You know what had octane from Shell was Marner's slap shot.
Here's the tweet, and shout out to Blunny for sending this over.
Mitch Marner completed his hat trick on a 91.44 miles per hour shot attempt,
his hardest shot this season.
It was the hardest shot attempt resulting in a goal
by a forward this postseason.
Okay, I was going to say.
Third hardest among all skaters.
Like, that's still pretty fucking sick.
And he never takes slap shots, and the hardest shot for a forward.
Does it say what was number one?
Remember Demidov's against Buffalo?
That had to be up there.
Yeah, it doesn't say, but more Marner glazing when we return.
I think Radish.
I think Darren Radish had it.
Oh, shocker.
Before we get to the actual Stanley Cup final,
are we going to talk about Larkin?
Well, Ray's ready.
Let's talk about the cup final with Ray, and we'll get to Larkin.
Ray.
Are you here?
Can you guys bring him?
Ray, sorry about that.
What's going on?
No, I'm fine.
I was impressed in listening to your ad read.
Shell.
Shell.
Thank you.
Spectacular.
That had the chance to go off the rails about four times.
Yes, yes.
Believe me.
Everything.
Two L's and Shell.
Yeah.
I got ahead of myself.
So, Ray, we were complimenting you and Sean.
The broadcast has been incredible.
Awesome for you guys.
Did you ever expect we'd see anything like this?
I mean, I think everyone was expecting a good series,
but this has been,
I can't imagine how fun it is to be between the benches for this.
No, I was actually, in my thought,
I was worried it was going to be a bunch of 3-2 and 2-1 games,
and they were going to check each other to the ground,
and there wasn't going to be much happening.
And, like, I couldn't be more wrong.
It's like, it's nuts the way the games have gone.
Every game, somebody scores two goals, somebody gets three goals.
What was it, game two?
Carolina was down 3-0, and they get three goals,
or 2-0, and they get three goals in the third period.
They get four the other night.
And I just, I think they're at a point now
that this is just the way the series is, and it's awesome.
It is unpredictable and fun,
and it's impossible to keep track of what the hell's going on.
It's what, like, in-game?
Yeah.
You're like, I saw a highlight after the game,
and they showed Hurdle's power play goal.
And it was, I was just sitting having a drink after,
and I was like, oh, I forgot he scored.
Like, that was in the first period.
It was like, it was like three days before.
And it's every game like that.
Ray, that's what I was going to ask.
You've been doing this a long time,
and, like, just like where the state of the game is,
like, you've been between the benches.
Like, how much faster is it now
and where the speed of the game is at?
And obviously, it's really translating as far as the ratings
and people, like, falling in love with the game of hockey.
I think the difference now,
like, even, you know, it's been 10 years
that it's started to get faster and faster and faster.
But now the guys that you wouldn't think could be fast are fast.
And they all make a play.
And they're, so there's no, like, of course,
there's the top-end guys that are just, they're just so good.
But I'm watching these fourth lines play,
and they're going, they go a million miles an hour.
The other, the Vegas fourth line the other day,
had 24 hits.
And so, like, Cole Smith, like, Cole Smith,
a year is a lot longer than that.
Cole Smith had 14 hits.
And so, like, they're, everything is so fast.
And I don't know how anybody can't turn this on and go,
even if they don't quite understand the details,
but go, man, this is awesome.
How physical and fast.
And now there's lots of goals too.
And I thought it was going to get a little,
a little skippier at some point.
It hasn't.
And now I think that's gone.
It's now like, it's just about the game now.
It was just that one scrum after Halsey hit Hannafin into heart.
And then the retribution, like Anderson jumped on stalls back.
I kind of like that though.
Cause I feel like sometimes in the first few rounds,
like it gets like too scrummy where it's like, listen,
if you want to fucking drop the gloves and go and fight,
let's do it.
I just don't want to like, I don't want to stretch these games out.
Let's get the pitch clock going here.
I think the, I think in the first couple of rounds, the,
the officials would probably like to just like,
if you guys want to punch each other in the face,
go ahead and let them do it.
that for as long as they want and punch themselves out but they obviously they can't they got other
the games would last like three and a half hours they gotta they gotta move it along but now there's
there's none of it there's really there's really not much of it at all and i guess everybody's
probably scared if what if they decide to take one guy out of the scrum and it's me
like what an ass i would feel like in the box right especially carolina's power plays finally
clicking yeah ray biggest question going into game four is bussy are they gonna go with bussy
or go back with anderson what do you think i'm okay so i'm flipping on that and um like
hourly almost and one of the reasons is because ron pulled anderson so he could play game four
like there's in my question or my mind no question he got him out of there he's like
there's no reason for him to be in here we you know we're down four nothing what the hell's
gonna happen
and except they came back and and it wasn't that sometimes in those comeback things like the the
uh replacement goalie just stands there like bussy stopped marner twice by the way how did
marner not know that bus i was gonna ask if you would realize that they switched goalies and
usually somebody up top gives you the heads up but he was that dialed right i think he was just
that anyway you know what's crazy what about that is that he already had a chance in the period
right yeah
like he was just that into it
he turned around and took like a quick little stopper and bussy stopped it with his arm like
at some point you would have noticed they catch the different hand right like how about on the
penalty shot looking up and being like oh the gloves on the other side yeah that's what that's
why he fucked up he had a move prepared for anderson but it was bussy he said he was really
tired from like getting to that breakaway so his brain wasn't working yeah okay you don't think
you'd look up and go man freddie's dicking with me here like he's what is he doing down there
so i i think right now like as we're right now i think i would play bussy wow i agree but last night
i thought i would play anderson so why do you think that um because i don't i don't like or i i
i don't look at the last game and think man anderson let us down like which of the goals
don't you like if you if you look at it so i think the the hurdle power play goal that's pretty good
shot he's five feet away from the goal and he's like oh my god i don't like that i don't like that
in front of the net the martyr slap shot he probably should have yeah that's i think he
should have maybe perfect and and i thought yes i thought that too in the game i i think i said
like he's got to have that one i didn't know it was 91 and it was like it's right off the pipe and
in but he's probably got to have that but if you're looking do you do you discard what he's
done and maybe you do and you go you know what bussy's so unorthodox and he was so
sharp maybe this is the way to go yeah the only way they still got a day the only worry might be
that like hopping into that game with no pressure is so different than preparing all day as the
starter so that's maybe going through rod's mind but your job between the benches so biz has done
it our guy army does it a good amount it's so cool for you because you're you're hearing and
seeing things nobody else gets to hear or see now when they make it for two and specifically for three
you've got to be saying like how is he not called timeout right like what is their bench like at that
point vegas pretty calm i said i said i go i i'm really surprised they're not using the timeout
because it happened so fast right it was 39 seconds and porch just let it roll and and or are
you talking about carolina no no no you're right you're bang on what you're talking about when
vegas all of a sudden it's like why isn't he calling timeout i thought 4-2 is when he should
when the third one went in i thought holy like they got they got to slow this thing down here and
i don't recall the time on the clock because he might have been looking at it and going you know
what i'm going to get a commercial time out here and in a minute or two i forget when the timing
of the goals was but i thought he was going to call time there's there's no panic ever really
on vegas's bench it's a i would say it's a pretty calm uh probably
veteran bench there's more energy and i think part of it comes from rod on carolina's bench
because you know man he's marching a hole in the yeah in the bench behind the player and chewing
his gum to dust back and gives out a workout eh he's oh fuck his gum just abusing it but there is
um there's very little stuff between the benches like nobody there's no barking or anything and
it surprises me a little bit but carolina doesn't really have that you know they don't they don't
have that way about them they don't they're not like a chirpy team or anything i feel like i feel
like that's like the one thing that marner is emphasizing the most is like especially in these
like comeback wins or you know late game heroic type things and he's saying like we're just a
veteran group we don't turn on each other we never get too high never get too low and and i i don't
know if these are little nuggets along the way of maybe things were in in toronto and the fact that
sometimes on the bench they would but completely uh different scenarios from teams yeah i i thought
like you know of course martyrs get another you know so much recognition as you should but
but like in toronto none of those guys had won and so they're all looking at each other and
somebody's trying to lead and they're all trying to lead and they don't maybe know how to do it
and you go to vegas and they've pretty much all won and so he doesn't have to lead even though he
is right now he doesn't have to lead he doesn't have to lead he doesn't have to lead he doesn't
he doesn't have to there is there's just something different pretty clearly about the teams and i
would say toronto never had as good a team as vegas has no yeah i think maybe that's why yeah he didn't
he doesn't call the time out because he doesn't want to put that panic yeah so maybe that was
part of it but i want to jump in ray and ask you about the the crowd noise on each arena are they
the same is one louder than the other what are you seeing outside the arena with the with the
pre-game festivities all that stuff carolina's
like carolina is deafening yeah and it's and it's noise from like it's not pumped in it is
that place is wild from the you know you guys have been there right and you drive in and
first of all they're they're doing these renos there and outside the building and so i assume
at some point they're gonna have a different way of coming into the rink but right now i used to
know the number it's something like 2007
of those orange traffic cones that they lay out every day yeah the cars come in it's like
it's like a county fair oh yeah just like get into your line and you it's and then as you're
driving in like for like acres it's people that are tailgating like hours we get there
i think we got to talk to the coaches like at 5 15 so three hours early and the place is packed
jammed and you get in and it no it's so loud vegas they pump the noise in a little bit outside
you know we get in early so we're in there at 2 30 for a five o'clock game two o'clock
it's so freaking hot nobody's nobody's standing outside there until later in the day and then
that plaza right outside the rink is jammed like it's packed and it so this is but out of sheer
noise carolina is is as loud as any building that i've been to and it's like it's jammed
in it and they can give it to the officials there that was the one thing i noticed too if they don't
like sometimes it's like come on guys that wasn't a call but like half of them are on their feet
being like call that motherfucker and they don't they're like they're like a nascar crowd they're
they're ferocious we never even talked about they went tarps off in game two all of a sudden everyone
took their shirt yeah what was that about was that like homage to what's going on in the mlb
no they they threw it up on the board you know when they come back with tarps off and all of a
sudden they're fine and then pretty soon you're seeing some people with their shirts off that
you're like oof that shouldn't any top any tatas right no non-zero no tatas not them because you
know biz because you were you would have been the guy at the end of the bench like yeah colasar is a
little bit oh yeah and so where the goalie backup goalie sits yeah you know guys are guys are
scanning and they're you know you see what's over there it's just a bunch of fat guys and uh you
know and beggars can't be choosers yeah but you thought it's awesome is there's i'm not picky
they're having they're having so much fun
much fun like in that building it's so fun like they yeah it's it's i don't know it's just a
different feel then they they said it's full concrete too which like radiates the noise even
louder it's a smaller building that could be like another rumor like the marner slop shot
no but i heard you say on the broadcast that even maybe even a little louder than edmonton
from when you guys were in the finals two years ago there which is crazy because that place was
wild but um we said all right so vegas comes back in game one but it was an early deficit after the
eeler's goals after that it does seem that vegas is the better team right and merles has been saying
vegas in five he thinks this thing done biz thinks it's done do you do you think it's over and would
you say that vegas overall is a better club like from what you've seen through three games um i
don't think it's over um because i now here we are each game's one goal however we got there
they're all one goal i think if you went down the lineup and you had to pick this player from vegas
or this player from carolina eventually you'd have more players from vegas yeah like i think
i think they're on paper they're a better team there is carolina as a team man they they've
they've just brought in the players that fit their system they fit the way whatever a carolina
hurricane looks like they fit they don't have any outliers i look at like eric robinson and
jordan martinuk and uh who's the other one oh will carrier like if you didn't know what those
guys looked like and you switch their jerseys could you even tell the difference they go like
100 miles an hour they all have four or five hits every game they all got 12 goals this year like
crazy and i'm like they have the right people for them now if i do think it's over if like i thought
svechnikov played his best game of the series but aho svechnikov jarvis ehlers again like he scored
in game one but those guys i thought early in the series that those four plus stankoven and blake
like they've got to get into the middle of the ice to score like right you can't they don't they
don't score you can't you can't have a double overtime game that aho and stankoven don't have
a shot that's like the worry like how do those guys not get a shot on net in that game that's
crazy to me aho i find gets pushed out a little bit yeah he does he's and he's looking he's looking
always to play make yeah but but i think sometimes he's got to say screw it and dive
right into the middle because he's going to open something up and and and it hasn't happened and
it hasn't he's got 10 points but it's not i think he's got four goals two of them at least
are empty netters yeah like they he's they need more like it can't as unbelievable a final as it
is they can't think jordan skull's gonna score every game no and then right like he's been amazing
as far as aho looking to delegate and make that play i feel like sfetch is also looking to do that
where he's kind of supposed to be the big powerful guy on that line and he hasn't done that enough and
and going back to stankoven and blake like you saw in these other series where they didn't really
have a hard time getting to the middle for whatever reason you could talk about vegas's
size their structure how they play how they protect the house you just you watch and it's
like they they're never getting to the inside with the puck and that's why i think that most of us
the better team and that they're going to win this series i i i think it's going to come down
to that like can at some point those guys become really involved and and if i were
coaching sfetchnikoff i'd show him that video of the goal he scored where he was on his face
and he's right in front of the net yeah and because he's a monster man that guy is big
and i thought by far game three was his best so maybe he's starting to come along but he had
he has to they they're not built to have like dorofeev has not been a no i haven't noticed at
all not at all and yet it's okay they've flipped the lines and they move mark stone up with eichel
and carolina doesn't have that luxury when they flip the lines they move martin up with sfetchnikoff
i mean that's not the same as moving mark stone up there yeah and so the i think the margin for
carolina is way way thinner
yeah
ray you you were played over 1200 games and i'm sure played through a lot of injuries that
injured to mcnab him playing through that him playing 36 minutes last game what do you have
two assists like he's been incredible but like how much credit do you give for him just going
out there and not being an absolute warrior i i couldn't first of all i couldn't believe he
walked in and he looked as good as he did like like is this what's his face made out of like i
thought is the way that you guys saw the still photo too oh oh yeah
like man like so they put his nose back together there and you know which is crazy good plastic
surgery boy and he's like yeah 20 you know how it is you everybody's been stitched he's like
yeah 25 30 stitches you don't even know after a while you're like just get me off this table
right like it sucks and when they introduced him like i thought it was really cool that the arena
like recognized what was happening like that i
the only one i can remember getting and it was louder but was when zadano char broke his jaw in
boston and game seven right freaking played and you're like and so the place thundered when he
came out and but what mcnab did and so first of all like the guys are probably just stoked right
like that he's he's even gonna try and then halfway through warm-up it was pretty clear he
was gonna play and then he plays the way he does and then he plays the way he does and then he plays
the way he does because it's not those aren't easy minutes right he's he's still blocking shots
he's still every time he runs into somebody it must feel terrible right because his head had to
be like had its own heartbeat and he i thought he was awesome he's got five points that's what's
hurting him too after all these celebrations i see guys coming and shaking his head i'd be like
get away from me guys
oh well we we oh do you have anything else
well i was just gonna say like fame carolina scored two power play goals in uh game two
they were both after mcnab was right yeah and like i think if he doesn't get hurt it's three
one right now he matters man three nothing um i just i'll quickly ask you about stone have you
ever seen a guy who maybe like doesn't look as good doing it but the smartest like just his
anticipation his ability to like go to the net and his stick around the net like he's such like
a perfect player
nobody looks honestly i i say this quite often about him nobody looks more like an unmade bed
he's a beer leaguer it's unbelievable an unmade bed like his kids made his knob
like watch how he skates off the ice too he holds his stick straight up in the air
no i used to do that it's because somebody told me so you don't play the puck and your guys
aware that you're coming off the ice i i it was a habit from you does he does he does he does he
go knob in the air or blade i think he doesn't show off the knob i used to go blade in the air
too but i'm not saying but that was coaching no biz they they said to you biz when you're out there
put your blade up in the air like biz you have a stick why don't you have a stick for balance
me being like why do i need this why do i even need this anyone want this yeah yeah yeah look
what i found nobody gets more guys gave me one of these what's that oh i was just saying nobody
gets more breakaways slower than him
like he's yeah he's not he's so smart like he's i think he's an unreal player because i i was doing
the world junior tournament when he was still in junior and the knock on him shocker was his skating
he was the sixth round pick in ottawa and they're like the word from any scout we talked it was like
yeah he's not going to be able to score at the next level and he's just so smart he's so good
um and he comes he comes in you know he's in his suit his hair is all over the place and he's like
he's got no hair looks like sideshow bob the the other day our our audio guy he did an interview
after the second period and our audio guy you know has to put the headset on him he comes back
and he's like he is so sweaty sweatiest player ever i'm like of course he is he's like an unmade
bed that got pissed in he's working twice as hard as everybody else he's skating his coins his back
yeah all right wait can i ask him one more yeah i got one more too for him how would you
summarize what's going on with marner like this whole like the last you know 12 14 months
oh all of it um well he clearly had decided that it was time to go and you know and he said there'll
be a time when he'll talk about it why but um clearly just the all-encompassing way his life
was in toronto he just needed and wanted another start and he isn't contractually obligated
to stay in one city for his whole life he got to be a free agent and he gets to the side
and so if he would have had if he would have had 80 points like he did this year in toronto
would that have been a good year no chance no right it would have been a disappointing year
it would have been the team the team would have been better if he was there but um it it was time
for his change and he comes out here he gets to you know hide a little bit i'd say you know it's
an easier way
out here and it's not to blame the media it's just in vegas it's not all encompassing it's not
there's eight billion things going on here and then halfway through the year he plays center
because they don't have any centers carlson gets hurt and he does that well like he he's a great
player but this right now this is the these are the greatest moments of his career yeah and and
now there is i'm sure he feels every day when he goes to the rink
like there's there's nothing that can get in his way like he is he's at he's at the peak of his game
at the his team is a great team they're now two wins away and i'm sure he feels like this is like
i'm i'm right here like i'm i'm right on the on the edge here and he's been amazing he's had an
amazing playoff i i bet you he feels like i i knew this was gonna happen yeah like this i knew i i
believe this the whole time
There's like vindication for him.
believed in myself and now it's finally you know coming true it just wasn't in tl i think we talked
to him after it was maybe after the anaheim series or after the game in which he had the between the
legs goal i think it was because it was the that was the closeout game that was the first goal of
the game where he went between the legs and i said if you feel like like almost like a weight's been
lifted from your shoulder because it's the farthest he's ever advanced in playoffs getting
past the second round and his fingerprints were really all over the first two series i think at
that point he had four primary shorthanded assists and really i felt game three of the utah series he
came alive so for him i think it's just more of the situation where he's playing with the house's
money he's on a team where he doesn't have to be the main focus and and really drive so much of
the traffic and if he does have a night off there's three other four other guys uh elevating
their play in order to help get the win but so other players in toronto too the focus wasn't
always on no no no i get that but i'm saying like for there to it was a very narrow for
right
very narrow focus right because it was this core for core for core for but but it's it's good i'm
sure it's like so fun for him to be able to go to the rink and with that you started the core for
i never started the core for that i wasn't aware of that i never started that it was in a magazine
when they were all young coming up i think it was the hockey news they had how many it's not
will they win a cup it's how many exactly thank you thank you yeah you wrote it all right ray
hold on we got rollback last question use code chickleton rollback.com
for a generous 20 off to the uh your first purchase at the end of the week r-h-o-c-h-i-c-l-e-t-s
on r-h-o-b-a-c-k.com 20 off shorts polos hoodies joggers and more stepping away from the stanley
cup final it's quite evident that the players are running the show now more than ever more than ever
especially from when you played dylan larkin requests the trade and then it comes out today
it's minnesota florida or vegas as a guy who played as long as you did when you did it's
got to be bizarre to see how it's working now and i think this is just the beginning quinn hughes
did it marner sort of did it not really though and now it's like hey i want to go to the best
team and i want to go in a note state area besides minnesota but what are you thinking about all this
um completely um 180 degrees by what we would have ever thought or done or like
you never asked to be traded because that you know of course they'd say back then because there was so
little interaction i fried and there's no one to trade you to yeah like they they would they would
tell guys seriously that these are the ones yeah nobody wants you we tried trust me and like but
these guys are the are the best players on their team and so it's different right like they're
to have like the the genies out of the bottle like this is this is the way it is and the way
it's going to be and now you can see why players are fighting for no trades
um and why the teams i think should start pushing back yeah like i think it's crazy
that there are players that they're not even in the best five players on their team exactly
full no moves like that or 25 no like that's crazy to me um this goes back i think a year ago
when larkin said you know i was we were disappointed at the deadline and then like now i'll not that it
became a problem with with eiserman but it's in your own head now you've you've already started
the seeds of something growing in your own head man if we don't make it next year how many years
can i stay i'm 30 years old right you know like you get to this point and you know i mean that's
a that's a pretty short list there's also the there's that's also the possibility that eiserman
might go yeah you know what there's nobody there like he's not giving dylan larkin away no and
so if i look what happens from a player's standpoint do you not go to camp do you like
what's what's the what does he do all of that can you call the bluff that's yeah you're you're stuck
now right like you're but if you sit that do you think the gm is going to try and move it along or
if he's going to let you starve there for a couple of months but it's but like it hurts him too so
it's sure it's like who blinks it's so weird but but it'll also depend it'll also depend what
if he can't get like we start seeing these names thrown around you know minnesota's gonna be it's
gonna be straddling you're off and i don't know whoever else is in that deal what if eiserman's
like yeah i don't want those guys i want this guy yeah right like what if they can't get the
deal done i don't know florida's system well enough but who would they possibly put in that
deal like in my mind right away the first guy is is anton lundell has has to be in it because you
need to you got to have some centerman going back but i don't know do they have any young prospects
because they've they've traded for the now all the time right and then by trading lundell it's
like no no we want to add him and still have lundell to try to win next year so it's they
have the ninth overall pick but then eiserman's like i don't need another pick right he's been
building for 10 years the only way that ninth pick works for in my mind the only way that ninth pick
works for uh eiserman is if he gets it and he's already got a trade
right for somebody for that ninth pick like you know that pick just kind of drives through detroit
but it is a that was a stunning thing to read the other day because i mean his whole career right
he's he's detroit detroit detroit and now now they got to figure something else out but that's
what i look at it more is like the marnus situation where he grew up there he's that's been he's only
been in michigan his whole life pretty much and he might be seeing outside rise that we don't know
about where you know well you know how good uh
detroit was for so long and then haven't made the playoffs there for a while so maybe he's just sick
and tired and needs a refresh and maybe there was a better way to go about it i don't know
than demanding a trade and then giving three yeah so the one i guess the one question i have to you
is like are you worried about it turning in too much like the nba and this is no slight on larkin
i love larkin's game i actually hope i hope he ends up in minnesota because i think they need
him the most but like where do you lie on like what type of player deserves to be like
i want to get traded like do you feel like larkin has delivered enough himself to be able to ask for
that out of detroit like you you get what i'm saying right yeah yeah i but i don't think there's
i don't i don't think there's well maybe there is a baseline but there's going to be guys that
might think oh yeah i'm going to go ask to be traded and the manager's going to go beat it
like no i'll trade you when i trade you but i i i can't just give players away right like you just
there i i would assume there's more discussions that happen around this stuff than we would know
like where the agent and the manager are talking and so maybe they were getting nowhere in detroit
and finally larkin said okay i need to take it to the next wow okay like how would it how would
it not be like no we would have gone to eiserman first and if they didn't really your buddy dreg
said like this has been longer than people realize this has been going on a little bit now
do you think it's it's beyond the the the reason or do you think it's possible that all the gms could
kind of get together and be like we none of us can give out no moves like that's the only way
if everyone refuses them but then there's the one guy says i need to sign this player and i
ain't getting them without you know you know what i mean you just you just talked yourself into the
answer because they're they can all say oh i'm gonna be really tough on my when i hand out these
no moves and then there's gonna be some guy that's gonna show up and he's gonna be like yeah
sorry guys well the problem he leaves the group chat the problem is though the problem is with
the hard cap situation like let's take perenco for example some people might be like how did
he get a no move but him and his agent would say well we took a half a million dollars less a year
to get that security and he's my olympian no i i get that but i'm using a recent example when
he kiboshed the trade to buffalo right like you're thinking about where do guys lie and
where should they get them well he might be on the cusp let's use a different guy for example
but my my thought is the only way they could do it is if they go like cba style and they say each
team only gets four of them to begin with so then at least you can go back to the agent and say i'm
i'm handcuffed we've already given ours away well then that's five years away right is that is
because they just did the cba no right right right right but but here's you know the the money trade
for uh uh the no trade is the whole deal right like that's that's the given given take
of the deal and so the managers are like oh great i got another 500 grand or whatever but what about
now since the couch going up maybe that 500 grand the the owners are or the managers aren't right
tied to it right they're like yeah no i do have a little more space because i don't i don't know
what you guys think but i don't i don't picture every you know all of a sudden we're gonna have
25 teams spending 105 million dollars like i i don't see it oh i don't think yeah i think maybe
half the teams reach the
top number there's not enough good players to pay that extra money to right would now be a really
good time to be a slightly above average would be being a free agent this summer could probably get
12 million bucks robinson is as uh as yans likes to call him aka robertson uh in dallas like he's
he could get 13 14 million bucks do you guys uh you guys uh this and uh what you got you guys
played with um uh eric brewer right
no but i know who he is i trained with eric brewer okay so one of the most sarcastically funny
quiet oh yeah people around
so every time some average guy or average-ish guy signs for four million dollars like clockwork i
get a text at about 7 a.m from from brew and he it's the same thing oh razor how many sheets would
you have made if if you were playing today he says the same thing all the time and i because i i had
to look it up and i'm like bro you made five million dollars he's like yep turn left off the
glass save play baby there it is that's like that is unbelievable um i was gonna do one last thing
is uh considering the hardest decision as a coach is to pick which goal he's gonna start we're gonna
we're gonna flip a coin that's how i would do it in the coach's room that's so that's a pros coach
right there so i would you can see why that would that why that would work imagine brendamore said
post game yeah i flipped the coin it was no bids flipped it oh yeah sorry bids flipped it no we're
doing it right now for who's gonna start so so should tails be
buzzed
head should be anderson but yeah okay well yans is an unbelievable flipper so here it is
wow
there's not many people that think this stuff through so deeply like i'm sure
rod's gonna go oh my god they did flip it was
that would go over well that'd be like the torts non-timeout and goalie and goal challenge
they'd be like
did you see the coin flip he's like well i did an interview with chicklets once biz didn't sleep
the night before didn't say one word that's a true story so i gave bussy the same stuff this
and he got us a shutout all right ray we appreciate it keep crushing thank you man did you uh you
didn't get the white shoe memo no so i'm going the uh the brighter noble noble as to kind of pop
off our sponsorship and i wanted to really stick out you know what i'm saying you know hang on i
yeah i you did i don't know what my wife just called and i don't know why my phone am i like
even on anymore she's like i saw the coin flip she's like i saw the coin flip i can't believe it
she went the other way she picked anderson i'm sure she did because she flipped it two out of
three times so i think i think i actually trained with brew in landon at fort fortius was he not
land yeah absolutely absolutely landon would have had those little chicken calf there right
what's landon what's landon doing he's doing
television for the canucks right he's doing some tv stuff and uh learning about it and he loves it
and uh you know figuring out that it's a little different than it looks sometimes and uh yeah i'm
really happy for him he's got a two-year-old he's chasing that little little guy around he's
awesome and yeah he's doing good grandpa so grandpa ray we appreciate it buddy by the way
have uh dave jackson and messier made up yeah for which time oh that was after that was after
the game two one and they were going at it i'm like i don't want but matt he wasn't with mess i
don't know if he would have been no no espn flew him in and then pk took him on a little uh shopping
trip both of them and cheered it all up and brought the boys out for dinner okay by the way
do you guys have uh you guys don't buy at the same place pk is buying right no i kind of think
it's funny at this point where every time you get a different outfit now it's kind of well and like
people make fun of it i sent him a text because i'm downstairs and i
put that uh that little that jacket he had on and i said i'll be up in a minute to swab the decks
i'm like what are you wearing there like it's so easy i thought it was a homage to mj that's what
he's doing yeah i don't know if you want a homage to him after the documentary i just watched about
him but i haven't seen that one in fairness yeah it's an interesting look and he i guess he pulls
it off i mean if i wore that stuff i'd get no chance you should do you should actually let him
game seven where you come you could you imagine i'd be they dress me like look i'd be like are
you off to the course are you off to the course in vegas you got the orange monk played yesterday
okay we should get the monk outfit on him this won't talk golf he just won't talk and we're
trying to talk golf right now thank you i have seen bits your swings really coming along oh yeah
yeah yeah then get in the cart and don't get two weeks off then quit that was one of the lines
somebody said to him what do you mean i'm just kidding i'm just kidding the only time i play
really is when we do the sandbaggers you can't tell so yeah so it's like when i show up i usually
just get a lesson from a stranger on the on the on the driving range played with and whatever he
told me i just do that round and we're off to the next i think that's a good strategy man solid
you
all right ray keep crushing it appreciate it thanks guys great to talk to you have a great
ray for our everyone i gotta take a quick hose
no you guys go both go ahead because i'm gonna do an ad read for the audio like send some of
these out to ray out in the desert playing all the reason i'm hosing so much that's a hell that's
a hell of an intro for body armor guys because this episode is brought to you by body armor
flash iv right here the great flavor
some people aren't great people i am with the body armor flash iv the playoffs are here they're
buzzing they're almost over and there's no better rapid rehydration than body armor flash iv an
official partner of the nhl flash iv is packed with electrolytes delivering faster longer lasting
hydration without any artificial dyes flavors or sweeteners whether you're training traveling or
just feeling the heat work hard and hydrate hard with body armor flash iv grab it at a 7-eleven
i'm gonna take a sip right now we got r.a. for an in-person r.a.'s world i saw him come in he
bundled in like the the hawaiian punch guy in the middle of the ferraro interview
i just took a sip of that incredible body armor flash iv so we talked about lark and kind of crazy
i mean hey steve trade me and i want to go to one of these three teams all stanley cup favorites
next year we'll see if that happens i think minnesota is the most realistic one um the other
news that kind of broke is
freeman reported the toronto maple is possibly looking into what the montreal canadians did
hiring basically a peewee hockey coach who also is technically not yet but maybe going to be a
hall of fame player joe pavelski is getting an interview i'm kind of shocked based on the fact
that i think he could basically be a pro golfer like if he starts going for the senior tour which
i think you're 50 so he's got about seven years till he could do that does he want to coach maybe
he's taking an interview what do you think about this pretty cool yeah i think it's
cool um obviously a guy that with how good he was uh obviously an unbelievable hockey mind
why not right yeah merle said you heard that they brought in 20 guys i've read this morning
they've interviewed 20 people um i think a good name is john gruden yeah not our john gruden the
other john gruden he's the head coach of toronto marley's right now they were going to the final
they just won an ot last night against our penguins and they're going to the finals how do you not
look at your own guy i know because i think i don't even think they were even one of the higher
seeds when the playoff was going on i don't think they were even one of the higher seeds when the playoff was going on
started he's put on a on a master class of coaching and their goaltender they got a russian
goalie that's just stealing games for them too but you got to look at him too they're looking
everywhere okay was he wearing a monk costume i don't i don't i don't believe so gruden though
good guy he was assistant coach for the islanders maybe the bruins at one point too with pavelsky
do you think like obviously if he's coaching his kids whatever like how does that even come about
like how do you think he calls toronto and says i know i wonder like how do they decide a joke
pavelsky maybe he told his agent hey i'm interested in getting into coaching and people
have mentioned well he's coaching his kid it's like well i think his kid's a pretty good player
i know he was picked uh ushl draft or something but it's like hey all right if i move to toronto
he'll be playing amazing hockey in that area so here's my theory on that is well one he's he's
not far removed so there's nothing about hockey in in today's world that joe pavelsky is not aware of
he he doesn't need that job right that he could go do whatever he wants to do and he's not going to
everyone he's made enough money so it's not like he's going to come in with this like type of stress
and he's going to be able to communicate to these guys that like they need to be communicated to
he was just a former player so i i think that a guy like like that would be a perfect fit in like
knowing all like and also some of these veteran coaches right like let's use laviolette for an
example is he doing individual work with a player like we saw from martin st louis no he's probably
just like going on the ice drawing up practice and he's coming in the room and he's going to
tell you this this is what the structures are so to to get one-on-one work one-on-one work from
your coach as well as from like the system standpoint to develop younger players like
that's what they need especially with how young the nhl is getting so you're stepping on the ice
with a young cole caulfield imagine hearing from martin st louis saying hey when i was struggling
getting goals in the nhl with my size and how i played these are the areas that i went to and
with playing with this guy this is where a majority of where the passes were coming through so let's
work on you getting it on your backhand here
and then quick release there so doing all those little drills and little work with a guy like
pavs and along with him coaching because fuck man the systems are the systems everybody's using the
same fucking systems right it's not like the nfl where you have all these schemes and drawn up
things the only time you ever have structure is off like a face-off for like a play then it's
like game on we're playing a one two two or two one two with a demon it's all pretty simple shit
so i think going to guys that are just like closely removed from the game that
hockey sense and have a stature like joe pavelski i have no pro i don't care if he was fucking
coaching mini mites i don't care well he actually he worked pretty close with the wisconsin hockey
team this past year like he would go into the locker room he would skate with them at practice
he gave every guy on the team his phone number and said if you're ever going through a drought
you give me a call and i'll talk you through it so he's still
been pretty involved in the game i don't think it's about where he's coached it's just him as a
player and him how long he played and how it's similar to stone he was never a burner either
and he just scored now if i don't know austin matthews at all personally but i think if you
told him hey we could have peter lavalette or any of these guys who've been around forever and coach
three or four different teams or joe pavelski whose boys with joe thornton who all days was
he's like give me yeah give me a guy who i played against who knows the league a little more in
terms of like what it's like now and none of these old school coaches which i like like for instance
vegas veteran group they don't need to be taught the individual skills they need torts even said
that yeah a guy like that he's gonna sit back and fucking you know say what he thinks he needs to
say at what time motivate the guys before the game and it's their bench right where a team like
toronto even though i mean we just had ray ferraro saying like well
matthews has never won kneelanders never really won none of these guys have won but
also to for for the young guys coming up for someone to relate to someone like teaching the
game how is how is peter laviolette gonna say well in this instance when i was struggling with this
this is what i did no none of these old coaches know that they just bark the same systems and
they have this like demeanor about them because like i mean did laviolette ever win one yeah
carolina carolina right yeah 2006 so like like
to me like obviously he's a great coach i'm sure he knows all the structures and knows how to like
play the lines and and he's seen every situation but he does not have hockey experience that joe
pavelski has yep has there ever been a rookie coach to come in and take toronto as their first job
uh had sheldon keith coached in the nhl oh that's he was ahl marley so yeah they brought him up
from ohl to to marley's there like nhl coach i don't know if that's that was his first gig
because that's a top like that your first gig that's a top like ron wilson had come from san jose
right and randy carla had come from anaheim babcock detroit so i don't know imagine imagine jumbo joe
as a coach pavelski would probably well he's working with i'm surprised at some point jumbo
joe will be in a front like the guy's obsessed with the game is he already doing stuff with
san jose yeah i think he just i thought he just went and showered with everyone yeah no well that
that and he built celebrini yeah built the locker room for his living room okay at their
there's wooden stalls and everything we talked about this who um who is another former player
uh like uh recently removed that you would like to see as a head coach in the hl he will be he
should he should already have a job i i would hope toronto's looking at him he did great things in
springfield well he's so he they ended up beating providence who had this crazy regular season right
they were first place going to play i was like the biggest upset in ahl history so did springy
lose in the second round they lost to wilkes-barre in the second round okay
shout out to wilkes right because they went but i talked to uh chris wagner was there this year and
and when ott became head coach he was raving about him yeah i believe he made him captain so that
probably has something to do with it but wags like this guy's gonna be unreal in the nhl just
a younger guy that's a good question though ryan getzloff keeping it yeah he seems gm-ish
elliot mentioned him the other day though as a coach yeah he did he did okay what other guys
have recently retired that like you could see coaching i mean i don't i don't know if he ever
will be a coach i don't know if he ever will be a coach i don't know if he ever will be a coach
he doesn't need to but like if anje kopitar was a head coach someday i'd be like kind of makes
sense but he's got the gm vibes too yeah he does well yeah the legend superstars but that i mean
pavelski he doesn't have a cup but i know the major award type things aren't there but i think
he'll be in the hall of fame yeah but with the golf it seems like he's a guy who likes to take
matters into his own i would be more surprised pavelski would wanna would wanna do that it's
tough now like we grew up all the old players become the coaches general managers but now they
all make so much money
nobody has to work anymore i know so it's just crazy to think that he would want to put in that
many hours of coaching it is it's every morning you're there you're running the practices you're
watching the video you're back for the game it's a you're on the road all the time it's a it's a
lot when you have when you're staring at 100 million your bank account you really want to
could you close your eyes and picture crosby behind a bench as a head coach no i could picture him up
there with george mcphee just oh yeah oh he's seeing sid like emotional like that as a gm president
he would stay stoic but he would need a sideshow bob beside but even stoic sackic we saw losing it
against against vegas in that game too he he gave her a couple like fucks like under his breath type
thing and then walked off into like the dark part of the room another guy who i could see coach and
recently retired derrick step on oh for sure it's a good call for sure wisconsin guy i wonder if he
if if uh did get that if he would bring in because both wisconsin guys and i could then you'd need
one you need
one longtime coach on the stage yeah yeah you need you need a fuck it no go all rookie coaches
just go boys yeah guy off the street yeah we're rebuilding in toronto anyway uh are we as a group
gonna revisit the larkin stuff because like this is we're we're entering like crazy crazy times in
the nhl it's just funny that like obviously the guy wants to go to a chance where he has a stanley
cup but like it's crazy that that eyes you would be like you're not going there and then he has
the no move okay well i'm not going anywhere and then he has to decide do i play or not like
do you think do you think he can go back into that locker room if he doesn't move him and play
because i don't he's not gonna sit out not get paid and then it's it's it's gonna be interesting
to see how this plays out and it could be one of those things where he requested one
eisenman doesn't move him he does play and then all of a sudden things turn around and it's like
oh wow we like repaired the marriage we went to counseling uh but then but then you guys aren't
down for counseling but then it would have had it it wouldn't have been able to come out like now
that it's out i don't think it's beyond repair with the fans too the fans are gonna be gotta be
that's what i said to yans on the way over like could you imagine that he comes out for game one
he's gonna be getting the boo birds when he gets introduced from the player intros i just yeah i
when i think of the teams and who has a piece that's available and if you're looking to make
a significant move i think that minnesota may be moving off of wallstead they already have
you know but they have a lot of goals i know but but there would obviously have to be one of those
guys going out the door so don't miss because if you're if you're detroit you're like what have we
missed of everything we've missed a true starting goaltender right so then obviously up till now
you're saying because they could have two of them in augustine and in casa i know but we've been
unproven we've we always talk about this about these prospects about these prospects like
yes i i've watched augustine when when we went to penn state smaller goalie moves really well
almost like a jonathan quick type right a little undersized he's not built like these big what how
tall is he he's got he can't be over six one right and then you have this the other one's enormous
enormous so six one six one so you oh well bang on uh two else um a little cadence there with my
backswing uh but fuck now i lost my train of thought god damn it you're saying no prospect
just get a guy you you have to know which one hey you can't miss on that right all of a sudden you
you'll give away larkin you get wallstead he's your starter now you're trading back one of those
other guys and or you work out a three-way trade if you're saying you're going to get a three-way
oh those two young guys we like the way they're marinating we think that they're both going to
come up as a tandem you get wallstead maybe you flip him to somebody like fucking buffalo
brofsky hasn't signed yet what like florida needs a goalie like maybe you work out a three-way and
get a significant piece all of a sudden now you get you do get lundell because florida does need
that right like yeah minnesota to me makes the most sense because if you look at that vegas or
florida like i don't want to give up lundell who makes half as much as larkin and he's
like the perfect third line center you already have your one lateral i think i think larkin's
better but it's he is lateral but he's but so what is he going to play more minutes than is
bennett now your third line center like it's like but you're paying bennett to be a second line
center so to me minnesota makes the most sense and that's that's like that's what they need
the most of any of those three teams and i think you you got to get you got to move something to
get something and i think wallstead could be that piece and dylan larkin is two l's and
lundell's three so you know that's why you don't do the deal either does lundell have a no trade or
no move probably that's what yeah like ray was saying everyone has one so i mean that could be
an issue too and i like getting the sabers involved there get one of the get get the
goaltender get wallstead over to there somehow they and they could give up one of those four
left-handed d that they have we're just setting up for manis by the way did we talk about the
real one that is quote real that kent hughes gave that was all over the internet that if you're not
fired you have to honor this trade yeah that was that's apparently what he said to tree living now
i don't know if this is true this could be complete internet bullshit but i think it is true that the
deal was done and it went through one minute late i i love that move for montreal so who would they
it was it was zarofsky the kid who's like on level with demodoro
davin russia so and then it was a it was another prospect but not hage apparently wasn't hage and
then what was the final piece um two first round picks two for two first round picks i mean now
having nize and anderson as your your big horses on the wing along with slavkovsky that's a pretty
i love i would love that team moving forward you know what's the late trade that came in this year
once we got done with the extravaganza well the marchant one got a couple years ago was that
imagine if that one came through at four o'clock i know we would have gone nuts yeah um yeah
because that was a tough that was a tough deadline this year we didn't get a ton of
an action and i and i'm once again just continuing to go over this summer's going to be fucking
crazy yeah and this is the larkin's part of it and then there's going to be a couple others that
nobody sees coming oh the cadre one was the late one this year oh cadre came in very late back to
call i was they just got the cup nope swept by the fucking dark knights themselves do you think
larkin telling them like before like at least a month before the draft at least right like at
least he's giving them time i think he's told them prior that was what i sensed and now it's public
um wait what if you you send lark into florida for the ninth overall pick and then they detroit
then flips the ninth overall pick to vancouver for elias petterson because detroit wanted elias
petterson there was the rumors about him i want to see him in detroit that's a good one and then
and then vancouver can go full rebuild you got the first overall pick and the ninth overall i am not
touching that contract unless he unless vancouver eats part they would they
would
have to if they ate four million and you're getting them as a seven million dollar player
bring them all day bring them all day now are they going to eat four million for seven more years all
right maybe they get one of the goalies too i was just going to say i think you have to sweeten it
i i think that if you got petterson i they may not be willing to get rid of them um but they
just signed demko which i thought was a weird deal now you have a goalie who
well he's but that was before hughes got moved where they're trying to make hughes stay
yeah but it's still weird all the time he's he's injury prone and it's like well if he's playing
and he's playing well he's kind of like elevating your team and you're not drafting as high like
they got to go full time so maybe he's a piece that goes out demko a lot of things to keep an
eye on in the middle of a legendary stanley cup let's where is the warthog is he on the toilet
where's the warthog right now bring this guy i went in to take a piss he's in the bathroom right
now just like hanging out in the green room essentially i'm claiming his hair and i and i said
hey because he's got his hair now in the back right he's got the skullet going yeah we want to
see it without the head i said i said you should braid it and then he started ah he goes you know
i was gonna donate it but it's got to be 10 inches to donate he would donate that hair
could you imagine look at the back i thought i had to get up but we got our a and i get to stick
around with the rear i know it's a tough couch tough casting you gotta talk into the mic so
that's right you're thinking about donating your hair could you take your hat off to show everybody
can we start traditionally first okay all right let's go hello
everybody welcome to our raised world here on spitting chicklets live from downtown boston
on netflix love it felt like jojo the whale from a bronx they'll lock in the bathroom over there
bro you know that degenerate game but uh the hair okay it's weird dude i was laid out for a while i
had nothing to cut my hair off for no weddings i had to go to one week slicked it back like jack
nicholson 70 style um and then i was like my father you're my father you're my father you're
never told me to get my hair cut my life because i've been bald for most of it he's like dude what's
up with that hair my dad i just really i don't know it's just kind of like i feel like i'm having fun
pretending i have hair again why do it just basically i got the jesse ventura hulk hogan
missing thing here can we get a full can we get a full frontal for the what do we got to do
if the series goes seven games will you go full i mean i mean whatever it's i mean i'm gonna
it's no big deal i mean i'll take it off right here it's like i enjoy you
but basically what i i was i did look into it and though it wasn't my intention from the jump
like i wasn't like oh i'm gonna grow my hair and donate it to charity but this is the longest my
hair has ever been outside of the top here and but your hair has to be at least 10 inches i'm like
you know who's taking that hair like my hair is very soft right and you love doing this you must
oh that's all he's doing that's all he's doing so like
it's unbelievable
holy shit that's beautiful that is
my mic working if you had
like yeah i mean i wouldn't like you know go out like try to pick up ladies like this but
i don't know i just haven't had a desire
yeah it is definitely no it will and i went to like trim this side and i fucked it up so i had
like even off the fuck up on that side so i wasn't really trying to make a mullet but
look out memes that's the story of my hair right we got a new mullet on the podcast i do want
memes his boots though i do love those oh he's got the best so guys did you know murray's you
probably saw it after the second period the other night did you see the line for
carolina you got to talk about mike
when you're turning your head it's okay we were talking we saw i saw plus 8 000 somewhere
70 yeah 70 to 1 they were plus 7 000 going into the third period the other night i'm out see you
guys game notes 12 o'clock tomorrow what's going on with the mics all right we're good we're good
okay all right all right merles is out we can't have five bikes so yeah either way i was shocked
i couldn't believe i'd never seen a line that high and um you get screwed over now yeah thank
you no i love it i want to i want to be able to look at you yeah plus my my back was broke again
yeah i can't believe i didn't see the line that high and um i can't believe i didn't see the line
i couldn't believe 70 to 1 going into the third and i was all my dad's and and i i od'd on ice
cream because like we got to take out had you know ice cream after after dinner and then it was going
ot i had to get the coffee ice cream try to wake me up then i was just like a fat there's no caffeine
and coffee no yes there is yeah fuck coffee actually definitely gives you a little little
joy are you sure about that that might be which kind which kind was it uh brigham's baby oh it's
gotta go to google yeah i mean it's coffee there is coffee and wow yeah i was i was i was
being a hungry hungry hippo the other night so i was i'm such a dummy so i kind of maybe maybe
fell off the wagon once again a little bit i saw 70 to 1 i'm like dude four goals 20 26 not crazy
they tied up but i was so like half asleep like watching the game i didn't even think to hedge it
sleeping i came no like i well i was watching i watched the game but i was just not thinking to
like holy shit dummy hedge this like we don't want to what's overtime i could have guaranteed
myself a few grand but i guess i was just locked in thinking on the seven grand whatever you keep
saying lately i fell off the wagon for me from like
from a gambling standpoint what's the longest period that you haven't gone to draft kings and
like posted a bet three days no month no months months yeah months yeah good for you okay that's
pretty good it is yeah and but it is the cup whatever and you know i i've put all the other
financial stuff is in the rearview mirror now so it's like you know i could treat myself to
a hundred dollar prop here and there yeah for sure for sure no this is the longest like stretch
where the least amount of gambling i've done in the last probably five years i've done in the last
probably 40 years of my life what's your favorite future ticket that you have currently going right
now um it was brett howard when he went down a two to one i had him at 120 the other night but
right now i i don't know i mean i'm looking at right now mine is a chalk obviously after that
game right minus 205 paul 475 stag over 650 blake 1501 illest 35 to 1 freddie up to 50 so
yeah but these things change so quick like like like one game you know if i has a hatchet today
he might go back down like two to one so if
next night next game rather if bussy comes in and goes on a heater they win the next three could he
get it you know what no way didn't play enough good i like it i like your style keith because
i did write it down he's 121 but you know what if you only play five games even if he had like
four straight shout outs that that would probably be the only way okay he would be able to like
steal the con smite at this point if he came in and had three straight shout outs they won in game
six i i think you could make an argument wait but but is does it have to do more about the final the
con smite or maybe the full
body of work i don't think it's it's not like uh i think it's like world series mvp in baseball i
think the con smite is all four rounds yeah it is obviously marner's hat trick you know that like
solid in the finals it matters a little more to the voters it's more recent but it's not considered
part of the award as just the finals like if howden finished with 16 goals and marner didn't do what he
did last game and had one assist i think that that you could it would be a coin flip at that point
but not the case marner
i heard you guys talking earlier if i'm if i'm um hot rod i'm definitely starting a bussy next game
100 i mean look at it freddie say percentage is the first three games uh 73 885 a 750 man
and bussy played great and that was his first time uh playing as an nhl in that arena and
obviously theodore knew the boards as good as anybody and you know he obviously it was a bit
of a rookie eric should have been hugging the post a little bit more but just a tough way to lose a
game that went to double ot but yeah i would definitely come back with him next game no doubt
about it uh the 25
combined goals the most of the first three games of a stanley cup final since 1981 minnesota island
is uh six to three six to three seven or five way back in the day and gee i know you mentioned the
stat earlier about jordan stall but also nhl players to score multiple stanley cup final goals
at age 37 or older after already having scored a stanley cup final goal at 20 or younger jordan
stall with the pens back in 09 and obviously the canes this year and on ray rashad 1956 1973 and i
think marner's hat trick his is uh was faster than i think that broke maurice rashard's record
yeah yeah maurice rashard had the fastest hat trick record in a cup final natural hattie so
just records being smashed all right yeah it's good stuff but also the game one was the sixth
most watched game one since uh 2000 it's good news we always like to see the ratings uh i know
have games two or three come out the ratings no no yeah but game one doing good and now we got
to give a shout out to this guy at not dave canalis c-a-n-a-l-e-s uh at 10 20 on twitter
saturday night if the carolina hurricane score four goals in the third period to tie the game
i'll get a stormy tattoo please for the love of god oh there's the picture up i mean he got it he
already got it he got it he wanted it he's got another hurricanes tattoo on the back it's not
like he went out on a long bro i mean it's not a still got after a loss i mean he didn't say they
had to win the game he said they tied and shout out to uh
leopatra inkdown and raleigh awesome job on that so and he said if they do win the cup he'll get a
stealing cup tattoo as well so i'd like to give a shout out to that guy uh how about the dune
leaf shirt he reminded me you busy yeah yeah my therapist recommended this trip for him
And then the buddy had the Marner jersey on, but Marner on the front part.
Some good stuff.
A couple of award notes.
Vassie got the Vesna.
You guys obviously saw the clip.
Yeah, I think he thought he was getting arrested.
Yeah.
I haven't seen the Vassie one.
Oh, yeah.
The police came, and he's like, ah, and they were just giving him the Vesna.
Yeah.
He's like, I did it.
I did it.
I was thinking, I'm sorry.
I killed him.
But he's in the basement.
It was R.A.
NHL.
I was like, ah, fuck.
This didn't work out.
More headlines for the NHL.
Yeah, they got into his car somehow, and they had the dog come out, and the dog sniffed
around.
He's running like an underground Florida gator ring, selling like exotic snakes.
But yeah, he has another Vesna right now.
Vassie, two cups, two Vesnas, a corn smite.
Definitely build that Hall of Fame resume.
McDavid won the Ted Lindsey for the fifth time.
Ties Wayne.
He now has 16 individual awards, trailing just Wayne with 31.
Ovi with 19.
And Bob Eeyore and Mario both have 17.
R.A.'s a little parched.
I really thought Celebrini was going to get the Ted Lindsey.
Just like players recognizing what he's done for that team.
Obviously, McDavid could get it every year, but I really thought Celebrini was going to
get it this year.
Yeah.
No, that's a good call.
I never really thought about that.
I guess I just expected McDavid to get it.
So yeah, these videos that they're doing are pretty fun.
So I never, I never, I got to watch this Vassie one now.
I haven't seen it either.
Yeah.
Can we pull it up or no?
Oh, G texted it to me, I guess.
Sorry.
Yeah.
Mercedes immediately start paying the cops.
Like my driver in Russia, when we got pulled over, he just started throwing rubles out the
window at the police.
He's like, da, da, da.
Go ahead.
Go ahead.
I was like, holy fuck.
That's how it works here.
I think Gino might've tried that in America at one point.
Yeah.
It's good to see him get creative though.
You know, kind of like these guys, some of them probably may have deep down, it might
be coming, but it's pretty good stuff.
Cole Caulfield won the Bing.
Suzuki won the Selk.
They basically did the same thing, presented each other's trophy.
Like I said, maybe they had an inkling it was coming.
But, and by the way, people who are complaining about the Canadians being out at a concert
the day after the season.
Oh, shut the fuck up.
Pack of losers.
Well, I will say that I think if the Leafs had lost and done that, it would have been
a lot louder in terms of chirping than it was for the Canadians.
That's all I'll say.
I don't care.
The season's over.
They had a great run.
But like, if the Leafs had lost last year in that Florida series and the next night we're
at a concert on each other's shoulders, it would have been louder noise.
Then had it happened, then wait, even if they went to the conference finals.
I think so.
Yeah.
It's just, the problem was that there was no expectations from March.
Also, it was like all great.
I think that you have to like, yeah, look at the situation.
I think that they had an overachieving season and anybody complaining that is ridiculous.
If the Leafs last year, let's say, yeah, like we're a loss against Florida and they were
doing that the next game.
Read the room a little bit.
They got Irish traveler, two games in a row at home.
That also could be like Marty St.
Louis being the good coach that he is being like, Hey boys, I want everybody to go to
this.
It's like a year end party.
Go celebrate.
Go celebrate.
It was a good year.
We're a wolf pack.
Yeah.
I don't hate it.
Yeah.
Season's over.
Bellyache about some else.
Marcus Foligno, one of the King Clancy goes to the player who best exemplifies leadership
qualities on and off the ice and has made a noteworthy humanitarian contribution to his
community.
Shout out to Marcus.
We still got the Masterson to go, which is Darlene, Landis, Gargan, Taves, the Jim Gregory,
Billy G, Chris McFarlane, Pat Verbeek.
Of course, the hot Kucherov, Nate Dogg, McDavid, and the Conn Smyth, which we got a bunch of
guys down for that.
Congrats to Milan Lutri.
He's retired after 17 NHL seasons, nine here in Boston, four in Calgary, three at Edmonton,
one with the Kings.
Of course, he won the 2011 cup here back in the day, played in the 2013 Stanley Cup final.
So best of luck and retire.
And over in the EIHL.
Yeah.
My first memory of Lutj.
Almost killed a teammate over there.
Yep.
My first memory of Lutj playing against him in the Memorial Cup.
Obviously, you don't know anyone.
You don't know anyone.
Oh, no.
He was on Vancouver, and he looks over.
He goes, I am going to make this game your nightmare.
I was like, oh, shit.
I was like, anyone know this guy over there?
They're like, don't go near him.
I'm like, perfect.
Did you guys have a tough guy that could combat him?
Yeah.
Yeah.
We had some.
Spence was an animal.
But we had Luke Bardon.
Him and Luke Bardon hit each other at center ice.
One of the biggest hits I've ever seen.
Two rams.
Both of them full speed.
Both of them fell backwards.
It was a monster hit.
Where was that?
In Moncton.
Oh, you guys hosted.
Yeah.
Actually, I want to give a shout out.
Robert Irving just passed away recently, who was my owner there, too.
Unbelievable guy.
Treated us so well.
One of the best owners in junior hockey, if not the best.
That was the first time I saw how insane Radulov would go after a goal.
I remember pulling up the internet, my host, the situate, watching that game, and he was
going crazy.
And you lost to Quebec, right?
Yeah.
Lost to Quebec in the final.
Radulov was on Quebec, right?
Yeah.
Yeah.
They beat us.
They beat us in the final.
We beat them to go to the Mem Cup, but we hosted, so two teams in the Quebec went, and
then they beat us in the finals.
Do you want to add a probably. Well, I guess you won the Quebec League title, so it's sick.
Oh, that's huge.
If you lost that one, maybe it's a better chance of beating them in the final.
Hard to beat a team twice.
I think I would rather win my league in the CHL than win the Mem Cup.
I don't know.
Buddy, if you get in there as a host and you win the Mem Cup, I mean, that feels a little
empty to me.
To win your league and go through four series of best of seven, I don't know, I just feel
like it has a little bit more oomph.
I don't think you should.
I think the whole Mem Cup setup is weird.
You also need one extra, how one extra, the whole city team gets something.
Yeah.
I think it should be three teams.
Like, play every team twice and fucking best record, and we'll go all different and do
it that way.
Yeah.
Have a college team.
Even as the host, though, I mean, that would be an accomplishment if you maybe didn't deserve
to be there in a different year.
Wouldn't. You know, if you still knock off all those teams to win it, are you still not a worthy
winner?
You can't do the three teams because you don't know. You can't plan ahead.
Like, you don't know where it's going to be.
Oh.
Like, the host team is solely so that they're set up, ready to go.
I don't know if you guys. Oh, you're the best.
On the way over, my signal was coming in and out.
I don't know if you guys talked about the combine questions that were all over. Oh, yeah.
If you had to kill a teammate or something?
Yeah.
Yeah.
If you were on a desert island and only one other dude had water, would you kill him?
I mean, you could split the water bottle.
Well, yeah.
That's what I was thinking.
Like, I mean. And how much do you think these answers actually factor in?
So, whether they're going to draft these guys?
I think they factor. For some teams, a lot.
Like, the Rangers, you sent out a pack.
Oh.
And it was like a psychological test.
I mean, I filled out like half of it and like never sent it back, I think, because it was
too long.
But. No, but like, I think that they look into like how you're wired, your brain's wired,
and they take it into consideration, for sure.
Yeah.
Like, I don't. I think that was the Habs.
They haven't got. They haven't got the guys toss a hockey puck into a barrel and they could back up as far
as they want and see if they could throw it in.
It's like. Wasn't there a brick one?
Something with a brick?
Yeah.
What was that?
Marek tweeted it.
Yeah.
There was probably like 15 to 20 of them going around.
Also, Nashville, they asked the prospects to stack golf balls, which is possible to
do, I guess, real difficult to see how long they could focus on a task before quitting.
But like, I mean, Whit, you're the biggest golfer here.
Have you ever stacked a golf ball on top of each other?
I've never tried to do that.
But imagine. Imagine being the guy who's like next up in the interview and then you get a hero and
the kid, he's trying for nine hours and like, you're just like. Because if you decide, I'm not quitting this, I want Nashville to draft me, I will not quit.
The next guy in line at some point, you're like, I'm leaving.
I guess Nashville's not picking me.
The reason I like that one is because it also tests like where your nerves get when you're
put in an uncomfortable situation.
Like all of a sudden, boom, this is being put on your plate.
Can you now zone in on the task?
I mean, imagine like keeping your hands steady when you have like nine strangers who are your
draft stock is weighing in their hands.
I think that's an interesting one.
This one, I mean, it basically seems like an easy one.
Rather have a quick career in a cup or a long career in no cup.
Like. Long career.
Well, yeah, but you got to answer it all way cup because all they care about is winning
that.
The Islanders put a brick in front of prospects and then asked what they could do with it.
Yeah.
And ours, I chuck it through a window and grab the teepee in the back.
You can grab.
Make sure I get. So you're telling me that, yeah, they're going to judge you based on. If you said how much and how long is my career, imagine like 10 years, 50 or like one year
league men.
It's like, ah.
I'm trying to take care of my family.
My knee is on the cup, but like I'm pumping gas now.
I'm not going to be doing meet and greets till I'm blue in the face just to feed my
family.
I put it like a fake one on Twitter just because they're like, the question seems so ridiculous.
I'm like, I'm going to throw one out just to see if people actually thought it was real
biz.
Would you rather have. A giant clitoris and just a nutsack or like be like no genitalia like Ken from Bobby?
I think I'd rather, I mean, I think I'd rather just have a huge giant nutsack.
With, well. As opposed to like, like, like just having nothing there.
But yeah, it's just like, I don't know.
What's your throwback movie recommendation?
All right, Hamilton, we'll get to that after.
Kill the Irishman.
Awesome movie about this.
Cleveland gangster called Danny Green.
He took on the Italian mob in Cleveland back in the 70s.
Like, it was like a bombing campaign back and forth.
Not a very fun time.
He lived in Cleveland.
Awesome movie, but it's a two for one this week.
There's also a documentary, Danny Green, The Rise and Fall of the Irishman.
He was like a one-man gangster, like an Irish dude.
And like, Cleveland was all Italian gangsters.
So I would say watch them both.
You could go either or.
The movie is very much like the documentary.
True story about this absolute lunatic called Danny Green.
And a couple more minutes.
We'll do a little All Right Hamilton here.
Actually.
I'll go to you first.
If the USA was to auction off stadiums,
this is from m l e i t e 33 if the u.s was to auction off states which would sell for the most
in the least factor in state gdp national parks universities real estate all that stuff wow so no
shot at any states um and and and we're keeping politics completely out of this yeah yeah yeah
okay uh i think mississippi is probably like the the poorest state so i don't know like you know
are you are you getting rid of that state just because of that i don't know i don't know much
what if they demand a trade but uh and they'll only go to florida i mean i i guess mississippi
i would assume politics aside california is is the is the one everyone wants it's enormous it's
beautiful it's on the coast it's just got everything you need weather-wise um mountains
i mean wyoming is is based on what biz is saying wyoming the the western part of it the the the
eastern part of it is pretty like flat and it gets drier um i think as a state if you're talking like
beauty and like preservation i would probably say colorado would be at the top of my list because
like it also has like you can go to like major cities there and uh like boulder's beautiful
denver is kind of like like once again downtown brutal denver downtown's awful uh but sunny all
the time but it's yeah you get the most most days of sun i believe of any state um is that true
because it's kind of like i think it's like 300 days a year yeah like calgary is the same same
as well um i mean hawaii would be up there too oh yeah good call yeah i think out west like
the states are so much bigger out west than they are that back east yes you know there's just so
much more i think natural beauty i mean it's you know a lot of good spots around here but
you know you're talking about like utah and like wyoming and martin there's just so much like
wide vast open space so utah i think that just the hard part is is they're just they're just a
little more different they're different they were raised differently like that like about that side
of it i think the carolinas are underrated states yes very underrated underappreciated states i
think the answer is california california yeah i can't tell about this rank these movies one to
five casino goodfellas the godfather one and two will call it sky face and the departed oh jesus
christ doesn't matter they're all amazing
yeah absolutely i'll go um godfather one i'm gonna i'm gonna go departed five i think i i loved it but
i wouldn't put it up there and then probably casino three what else was up there uh goodfellas
and goodfellas two uh scarface two goodfellas four wow scott face two huh yeah i love scott face
scarface five i mean i like it but not departed four godfather one
casino three goodfellas two yeah that was a weird way to do like numerical order but that's how my
i would i would do uh i would do casino one and i would do uh goodfellas two three i would do
godfather one and then i would do scarface and then and then the departed i agree with you guys
i like the departed but the end was a little ridiculous i did enjoy the movie yeah godfather
well but water two goodfellas casino departed scarface what i had uh this one let's see if
hockey did exist biz what career or field would you be in you'd be on a coach just like this
whacking away making money no no no i think i would be like a like an architect or like a home
builder i i love architecture and and uh yeah were you into that before you had money yeah like uh i
got well i was like obsessed with legos as a kid like building and that type of stuff but i've just
always been drawn to like like looking at buildings and like you know whether like from
like like historical ones like that's why like i like going to chicago i didn't realize that
because you go to downtown chicago and you're like wow like this infrastructure for a big city
and the buildings like it doesn't look like they've had as much wear and tear and they're
beautiful and like the the era in which they were built that i didn't realize that there was like a
major fire there a hundred years ago so for an older city it's got this newer infrastructure
it's got cool buildings like that one parking garage that's circular um you know which is i
don't you guys know it's got that little like building by the river yeah that riverway it's
god it's just it's and like even if you're driving along that highway that which passes by the stadium
along the water like looking back in towards the city it's just it's got it's got beautiful pockets
i know you're a lego guy biz i loved lego and also i feel like it would be good to to like do
something where i'm using my hands and and i also feel like for the most part the home building and
like the integrity in a lot of the new structures is just not there i would love i would love to get
into that when i'm when i'm all said and done i think i would have thought you would have said
still bouncing at the sundowner yeah i mean but he might not have any of those tats without hockey
like well sundowner you'd get some tats if you're right up the area that's where he got that one
me yeah we're in for the tea yeah probably
why um yeah probably wouldn't have been good yeah i was gonna say it might be real bad
like my backup plan was to go to like the military so i don't know maybe
fire the fireman was always my dream job uh probably wouldn't have got on that so i don't
know i i'm lucky that i could i'd be pumping gas or something doing some shout out to the gas pumps
witty i i don't i i've never really thought of this i'm guessing something with sales my dad did
that the the gift of gab
per se in terms of like being able to sell something but i i don't know i i have no good
entertaining answer for you there but i would think it's i it's just so hard to picture anything
there was nothing else going on in my brain besides hockey and i don't know you guys are
early focused and locked in on it worth all for you all right this one obviously specific to me
we'll finish up with this uh can you just respond with your top five simpsons characters we'll go
from the golden era let's do top three okay well it's just easier i was gonna break down each one
no particular order homer crusty bonnie the drunk ralph wiggum and groundskeeper willie those are the
five best characters from the golden era of the simpsons whoever asked so yeah i i'll i'll throw
a groundskeeper willie as one he was great because you weren't getting them all the time but when you
popped up you'd be like oh yeah there's an episode with him in it so him uh uh it uh crusty the clown
absolutely and and sideshow bob i love them all i loved mo mo i think oh yeah mo mo's good barney
what's it what's the what's the the rich guys what's his name burns the burns he was unbelievable
yeah he was great that guy was unbelievable and so was ned flanders oh yeah fuck maybe we need
maybe top 10 list is the best what was the fat kid's name bart's buddy who was like the bully
