You got Mitch Marner going for a con smite and a Stanley Cup. His first year removed from being a Toronto Maple Leaf. And we got a and he's itchy for Mitchie. You know, who's not itchy right now? This is a guy who does not allow you to get to the house area in front of his own goalie where maybe staying coven coming on that wraparound. I don't know if he gets to where he got to if he's the net front guy there. So he helps out their penalty kill drastically in which he wasn't around for were finally the levy broke for Vegas where they allowed to power play goals one of the third and one in overtime. thought i read he was the only one with 12 or more goals to get more in the playoffs i either way what we're witnessing these aren't like some these aren't like shit goals either the whole body just that tied his regular season total little did we know we'd get another one so i mean so basically 50 minutes through this game i was having the same feelings as you guys i'm like this is going to be a sweep of a series kane's power play was shit um yeah they they started out great in both games like i thought this game they started out great yeah they had the shot volume going i think vegas might have had what two shots in the first period they had nothing really going towards the net other than that grade a that howden created and then all of a sudden second period and then halfway through the third you're like they got the anaconda chokehold they got nothing going but finally that second line that we've seen come to life so many times throughout this playoff run stankhoven rounds that net and gets that lucky bounce and then boom it really felt at that point the whole game shifted right there big time now the question is and you anderson on the bench after the stankhoven he was not happy why not go strong side and i don't blame him because he they win the draw it's exactly what you need and i would love to know like that's when you do anything for full mic'd up uh ability or you know well i can read lips what do you need to know i want to know why anderson didn't put it up the wall after he wheeled the net he was obviously saying something like i didn't see hits it again and then it goes to that area and as it's loose he pokes at it it's all happening in one motion so for them to say to him to say okay he lost contact of it and therefore even if the whistle wasn't blown at that time his intent was to blow it not in the right position it's a clear blown too early there's no goalie interference whatsoever but he thinks because it is frozen and that his stick goes underneath and pokes at it that that is the goalie interference but i guess the the people up top in toronto can't change that ref's opinion on the fact that he wanted it blown when he wanted it blown and that was communicated therefore they can't overturn it but i believe that vegas got hosed and that should have been the go-ahead goal three two at that point in time yeah i agree with you it's a ballsy review it's a ballsy challenge because only reason they challenge that is because of how bad carolina's pp has been and they're like ah fuck it it's a free challenge and then guys said the fact that the pp's been dog shit i don't know if that's in the back of his mind as to why he wants to be aggressive about calling that has to be more like i'm more like that moment you ice as far as this playoff so the crazy part was I felt bad for Jackson Blake because I once we had him on I like him a lot good kid hell of a player can't believe he makes five million bucks for the next fucking eight years but I don't know what he was thinking when he when he stuck his hip out on Barbashev just a really unnecessary play there and he sold it no doubt I mean he didn't just sell it he was laying down like he was injured but just no need right like he's kind of on like the back pressure back check and he and like I don't really blame like you're just trying to make a little you're just trying to put that puck in the neutral zone and get fresh bodies on like he doesn't need that extra time and space to make that play and essentially that's kind of the the breakdown like they get the penalty kill quote-unquote but it's on that sequence of the guy coming out of the box your reads are a little bit different not having your your full six on five structure and ultimately So they just have so much left to give in the tank for the final. Now it turned up. Now let's, I'm interested to see how this momentum shift, like this is the first time in a minute here that Vegas has faced adversity. Like, hey, listen, yes, they were down in the Utah series. I believe they were down early in the Anaheim series as well, right? Were they ever down in that series? But against Utah, they were, I think they were going to be down 3-2 in the series when they ended up pulling their goalie and then pulling a rabbit out of their ass and stealing game five from Utah and then closing it out in six, right? So, or maybe it was game four, but either one, either way, they rolled off three in a row in that first round series, but they were set to have their eighth straight win if they wouldn't have choked that one away. But all of a sudden now, first loss in eight games, you're down a D man, you're going back home. You got to feel good about yourself and the fact that you split those two and now you get home ice advantage and you're going back and you get plenty in the building game four. If McNabb is back and I'm Vegas, I feel great. They're going to feel great either way. They have home ice advantage. They got the split. But if he's out, it's like that, that's a lot. And he did, he showed up at goal. He, he scored, um, he scored in the first, right? He scored their first goal to get them going. Like I like when, when guys, if they make a mistake and it's a crucial one, they're able to just, bounce right back. And you don't have your head down, you're not bitching and complaining. He's like, all right, next shift, next shift. And it was like a minute after either scored too. So since we're on that topic where I think you texted to remind us about something that McCrimmon said about Theodore before the series, it even began. Yeah. He was talking about how he just keeps getting better and better and better. And I believe he mentioned like when Petro had to retire, right? With the injuries, he wanted to be, he wanted to become that type player. And I think earlier in his career, no doubt it was, he was a power play specialist, very offensive. And McCrimmon was just mentioning like every single year, the guy's getting better and better. And now he's out there. He's PK. He's playing last minute. Like he's, he's changed his game. He's become a more complete player. The way Pronger talks about guys becoming true number ones enough to the point where I felt so foolish because you mentioned on the, the preview of this series, how they did not have, have a shade Theodore and Carolina. Cause I thought Carolina's D overalls better. And I was like, yeah, they've got this bear offensively, but like your point mainly was, yeah, but this guy does it both ends. And for the GM to be talking about him and then for him to have a game one like that, one and two, the pass, the pass to Houghton, that was so silk. And that's what Justin Williams said about when we interviewed a member. He said like his his calm confidence kind of helps their team, their group, because he'll make a save like that. It's almost going to be where he he makes that part of his game where, hey, if I make a save, I got to look like I'm confident, big, making these saves. Because if that group, too, if they feel like they have something on you with especially the goaltender, they're going to abuse you. Vegas will. Talked about the first two lines for Carolina having like big moments where now they got their confidence going. Listen, the fourth line for Carolina. I don't think I'd seen him made a mistake all playoff long. Like, I don't know if they'd been on for a goal against all playoff long. That's how dominant they were in game one. I thought they got chewed up a little bit by Vegas's fourth line. Well, who comes through tonight as well for Carolina? That Jankowski goal to get their confidence back and get one back for their team where I felt like they let. Them down in game one. So you basically at this point in time. Everybody's had their shit moment and everybody's had their success moment. So it's his confidence and full strength. The legs who drag the leg to stay on side there. That was sick because right right off the hop, you saw a Vegas player throw the arm up. It did look off sides. for that i believe correct they're going to get that little extended period right before training camp where they can lock in these guys for these final eight-year deals and then after that it's going to be the six on a new team seven on a current team i think the next cba would not be shocked if it's five and six and then maybe beyond i don't think that guys are going to be able to lock in for
