But my God, the game plan of the Pittsburgh penguins coming to this one. What the fuck are they doing? Like I want to be very clear. I thought that it was bullshit that Philly got the power play out of that full scrub. It was they shouldn't. It should have been even at at worst if not Pittsburgh going on the power play. Okay. Glad you said that. I also think that half the way sticking Crosby in the face, obviously on purpose, being a rat going by and doing that. It sucks that Crosby left his feet because I think it gave them the opportunity to even it up with an investment. If he just grabs his face, being like, what the fuck was that? I think half the way is going and then they're going on the power play again. So I guess fair to give him the embellishment, but sometimes when you get hit in the face like that, when you're definitely not expecting it because you're about to take a face off. And that's not even the guy you're taking the face off against who gets you tough. But buddy, penalties and plays like that go missed all the time. And Kineckney got that greasy little elbow the same way that Sam Bennett fucking pot Brad Marshall on that one game and it wasn't caught. That shit is going to happen all playoffs long. And you have to eat it and you have to suck it up. And that's what's going to happen if you want to have success success in the playoffs. So what does he do? They're up one nothing. Then quality opportunities that the penguins have gotten. So 1000% not on Skinner. I don't understand after the first two games going into Philly's environment. How the message in that locker room wasn't like boys. If they fucking rub their stinky mitts in your face, if they spit, if if half the way hawks another lugee in your face, don't even fucking blink. Just take it, try to get the power play. If the refs are snoozing again, whatever you plow through it, battle through the adversity and just win a fucking hockey game. But what do they do? Connecting gets the little elbow. Rust fucking goes fucking bananas. He rust went over the top. Like he was trying to kill him on the ground. But then he didn't fight him. But then he didn't fight. So the one real gripe that penguins hand fans have right now and I'm going to throw it to you guys about this situation is on the ground after he was basically getting like choked out and rust was on him. He kind of started kicking his heels towards him. Now, I don't know, man, pretty harmless with that amount of force and the fact that he's doing it with his heel and it's not like he's doing it with his blade. Still not not the play. Once again, that's probably why they should have ended up on the power play from that. Here's just a picture of it. And that's when it was going down. I don't know if, if connecting when Rust was standing over top of him, thought he kind of like gave him a little bit of a kick with his feet too. And that's why he did it. But at the end of the day, I would say this to Travis connecting his face. You guys play like scumbags. You're kind of a scumbag. But that just means that means I love you. And I would want you on my team any day of the week, twice on Sundays. So what do you guys think about that entire situation? And the Pittsburgh Penguins lower ring their standards to play dirt bag, fill it off your flyer hockey. I think that this is going exactly as Philly could have, they couldn't have dreamed it went. It would go this way. They couldn't have dreamed it would go this well. I haven't seen a fourth line dominate like this in a long time and show no Sean Caterier who has never been a fourth line player. And Flyer's fans have been all up in this guy's ass for a few years, man. He's battled all these back injuries and he's been a captain. He's been a warrior. He's been a hell of a player throughout his career. It's been a tough go and Philly for a long time. This guy's on the fourth line. No complaints, no bitching. And their fourth line is owning Pittsburgh. Pittsburgh, you said it all year, their fourth line was phenomenal. They're getting dominated. And I'll tell you, if this series ends in four, which I don't think anyone would be surprised at this point. Maybe they're able to go out and get one and Crosby's not going to go down with a sweep to the Philadelphia Flyers, but just look at Trevor Zee. Look at that nonsense that went down. And I agree with you, but Philly had no, there's no way they end up with the power play on after that madness. I don't get that, but whatever it happened and they score. They got 16 guys in the penalty box. Zegris skates over the box. The picture is incredible, the entire box is hugging like they're in a mosh pit. Zegris is celebrating. Now he's down in front of the penguins penalty box was 16 guys in their box. And I'm like, holy shit, the penguins are up one nothing. They got control of this game. Zegris scores on the power play. And then I think four minutes later, it's three, one. It was like, what just happened? They just won this series in a span of six minutes. And it's exactly how they, they imagine it. The fans were unreal, like watching on TV, like, that was a lot. That was a lot like Buffalo. I mean, they've been waiting. It has been 14 years, but eight, it's not that's not like a long time. And that's a hockey city, man. They love it. They eat up the scumbag behavior they were. And the kick, I think he gets fine. I mean, I know you're saying it wasn't super hard. It's with his heel. It kicks a kick. I get the penguins. Well, if a kick is a kick, it's a match penalty. So like, do you think he should get Susied? Like, was it was that's where that's where I see your point that I think it's hard to explain to non-hockey people and guys who didn't play? I don't think that if you pulled the entire NHL, none of the guys are going to say he should be suspended for that. But you shouldn't be doing that, even though it's with your heel and not the actual skate play. Like, you just don't, you just don't do it. But it's, it wasn't like he went like, it wasn't like he went out like that. He was doing it with his heel like that to trip him to get him from stop to stop being over top of him and kind of like, he was basically mogging. Well, Flyers fans said, if you've ever seen an infant try to get up. He was just trying to get up, just trying to get up to, but Keith, let me ask you, you played with Kateri. Yeah. He's got three points and three games. My thing is though he's fucking killing people. He was, was he was he doing that when you play with him? Is he? I don't remember him. Is this really physical guy? No, he was more like really good stick getting on the forecheck, using a stick, but he was also playing 20 to 22 minutes a night and probably didn't want to, you know, hit guys and exert his energy that way. So now that he's playing a lesser role, he can go out there and run around and it just proves to what like why he's the captain of that team because a lot of guys, if you've been on the first second line for 12 years, then you get bumped down like you're going to play hard, but he's playing like he's been a fourth liner his whole career and he's doing it the right way in Philadelphia. Like if you think of winning a series in the NHL playoffs, you got to have depth scoring, you got to have good defensive play, good goal tending and good special teams. They get goals from Nick Seeler, Ristlinen, half the way, Dara, who's the other guy on that line? Not Glendending. Glendending players have recorded two or more points against the penguins. Like it's, and I'll tell you the, there are some, because I texted the group, no shows on Pittsburgh's roster right now. Not only no shows off, offensively like Manta, I don't know, the guy had 33 goals this year. He flips it up. They're up three, two, and now granted, we've seen a bunch of guys flipping it over the glass. Like it's kind of, I understand the pressure, the game so fast, they're up, they're down three, two. They got momentum. He flips it over the glass. Boom. No, okay. It's game over. And, and like, Chinacov, it's just, it's domination, domination by Philly. And I never saw this coming. And I should have, based on how they were playing, what are they like? Look it up, gee. I think they're like 21 and six in their last 27 games. Like they are just humming and talk, it's got them going and they have depth. And when you're fourth line's playing like this, along with business, Darth Flodar, fuck man. It is impressive. Which Shane Gillis doing the opening thing, you knew they were coming out hot like the guys all time. He's all time. He's going to get the juice is going to Philly, Philly should hire him. Well, we'll get into Buffalo and Josh Allen, God. But hey, can we talk about Owen Tippett? Like another, he's obviously a stud player, not too, but he's killing somebody every game. And he's making himself. And I remember when I was a kid, my dad would always be like, hit somebody once a game. So people know, like whatever. And obviously I stopped listening after like 12 years old. But like if you're a guy, if you hit someone once a game, you're going to. See it on the video, you're going to be hesitant to go back. If you're a forward and you know, he's back check and you're going to be hesitant to cut to the middle. Like he is a true power forward. And he's playing so well. I mean, the whole team is, but I think he's like the, as he goes, their team goes. And I guess at this point, it's not even fair to call Catturier and those guys the fourth line because they're lugging seven, ten minutes ice, like they're being relied upon on heavy situations. And like you guys mentioned, that's second and third goal. That was the fourth line getting it done. Like they are getting after they changed the momentum. They're being thrown over the boards just as much if not more than any other line. And I know it wasn't their line who scored the goals. It was both the defenseman, but my goodness, just great work, winning puck battles and going back. Like, like did you, like this, I know the, the bullshit of the fact that they were on the power play, right? It shouldn't have been that. I don't even know if the penguins guys who were killing the penalty really realized that they were killing a penalty. Did you see? So that was your breakdown that I loved, man. So this is like, this is like hockey 101 for fucking amateurs. Tip used to stress this all the time. If you're the guy, get it coming over the blue line. And it's like, let's say a two on two or a three on three. If you end up missing the net as the shooter, more than likely you have the other two guys driving the net. You better be F one coming back. Like you better fucking the minute it leaves your stick and you're like, Oh, this is the net. You're be lining back to your own net to make sure it's not an odd man rush. So they get sprung. Now, here's another bullshit. They got away with one. It was, it was kind of a semi two on one and forced her grabs the jersey really quickly, gives it a little slingshot and all of a sudden it's a two on two kind of bullshit. They got away with another one. But if you go back to game two in Pittsburgh, I think we can all agree that Pittsburgh was getting the calls. Like they were sent to the power. It was a prey to the penalty box for the Philadelphia Flyers. They, I think they had in the first, in the first like half of the game, they had four power plays. Guys, they had two shots on net net game at that point and gave up two breakaways and the two or no. And like, yeah, like a two on a, I think they've given up. I think on their power play like three two on oh, so far, the series. Like that's fucking insane, man. I would have a melt down as a coach in locker room. So it's Lizot and a chari going on this two on two. But Lizot, like, like just, just, just pull up, like go, go to the boards, rag the puck, kill some clock. At this point, you're up one nothing. You're trying to kill this off, kill their momentum, whatever little that they have at that point and live to fight another day. So he misses, misses it completely. And then next thing, you know, it's a three on two easy zone entry going back the other way. And you're like, I still, where the fuck are these guys still aren't in my screen yet? Why aren't they back checking? So they get, they get in the zone, well, they lose one puck battle, they lose another puck battle. And then boom, it's in the fucking back of their net. It's like, it's, it's, it's, it's, it's just stupid fucking hockey. They, they just, their brains fell out of their head. And that's all that's, if the, if I was the coach before that game, my main message would have been like, boys, don't react to anything. Be the most, be the vanilla lattes that you are. Roll four lines, skate them into the ground because that's what they have the ability to do. And I got a, I got to give credit, man, like I know people are aware of who, who, who San Hyam is. And the fact that his stick. It's fucking brutal. I would, if I had to do one-on-ones against him in practice, I would be, I would be that fucking Russian guy for Minnesota, flicking over the glass. I have a man. He's not like Slaven, like they both skate so well, they're sticks, they're not overly physical, they can add offense, but it's not like a main part of their game usually there. He's an incredible shutdown defense man. And he can bring some offense too. Yeah, he's great offense. I mean, look at the car. I know. Um, it's just bad, I love, like, I love Dan Muse, great guy, but like he looks like he's in over his head too, as along with the whole team. So, like there's got to be, I don't know what's going to be said in between game three and game four, but there's got to be something that's said in that locker room where it's, we got to figure something out and when you get down in a series too, you want to go out and fucking do it your first shift and get mad, hit somebody. Like, like you've said, Biz, this whole time, they're not built that way. They got to go back to the way that they know how to win and whether it's Sid doing what he does and having a pop off game and Gino, Gino's been good. But I think the biggest thing put, put Hazeian, put the big fella in his old team. Why not that bottom four line that you talked about all year? That was great. They haven't done shit. Bring him in. He's actually never had, that was his first ever penalty for embellishment though. So technically by the, by the letter of the law, he had never embellished. But I think we can all agree that they have a, a gripe. But mostly for game three. I thought that in game two that they got the advantage as far as the calls and they didn't take advantage. So yeah, I don't, the fact that they found themselves in those situations after being up one nothing is, is just dumb. It's also, it's also be careful what you wish for. You want more power plays. That's that you're giving up two breakaways of game on the other end. So in, I don't think they've scored your handy yet, have they? So like that might be coming to you. So be careful what you wish for. No, they have that, the, the, the, with half the way got one. Oh, that was, yeah. Yeah. Half the way from tip it. That solo effort that was the, oh, yes, in couple, that was their new shift. That was insane. Their modern day version. But I don't really have much else to say. I don't know what the flyers fans would say. You give them something to cheer up. They've been fucking into the building. I mean, you mentioned it with that looked fucking insane. I will say though that the longer that they keep advancing, the more I'm going to just going to bring up at the fact that I own half of their fan base. You do. That's it. Yeah. Like, first of all, he had a great end to the season after the Olympic break to say that, that he is like a 15% reason as to why they made playoffs. I think you're smoking crack with Gritty. I think there's so many other variables that go into what makes this team successful. But he's, he's not, he's not necessarily equipped for playing a defensive fast Gritty style of hockey, come playoff time. And I think that he's left to be vulnerable. I don't think you take him out of the lineup because then all of a sudden it becomes a storyline maybe with half of the idiot fan base. So they're, they're in a little bit of a difficult spot here, but they haven't lost, they haven't lost. But like, he's also visibly not been that good, right? Like, can we agree on that? Like going back to last game, like the Gerard grade A chance, lost his own coverage early, the first shift in the game three at home, like had the turnover inside the blue light. He just like, it's not clicking like it is for the other guys who are embracing this type of environment and this type of play. Oh, the better skaters. Hold, be careful, buddy. Be careful. When we talk about penguins fans and their disgust towards the refs, I don't know if I've seen a fan base, more upset at refs than the Minnesota wild. They, they're losing their goddamn minds. What do you think? Last night. Um, Jans texted it to the group chat this morning, just talking about their hatred for the refs. One of the most wild things I've ever seen from a Minnesota fan base when it comes to the state of hockey. The state of hockey, so it was, I didn't remember who it was, but I saw it and then I saw them overreact. I think it was Wyatt Johnson. You mentioned, right? Uh, Jans, yes, Wyatt, he, he, he's over the red line, like on the offensive side of it. And this is in, I believe the first overtime, maybe even over time too. And he flicks it. It goes over the glass and the offensive zone. The Minnesota fans were losing their minds, wanting a, a delay game penalty. I had never seen anything like it. I'm like, like what the fuck is going on here? Like do these people not know what the fuck is going on? Or we missing something behind the play they were upset about because I refused to believe that they thought that was delay a game when everyone. What is the universal sign for, uh, delay a game? What is everybody on the bench to? What is everybody in the stands to? You go like this, throw your hand up, like it's out, it's out. Everyone in the bottom row didn't wait. I was sitting there. I'm ha, I mean, it was getting late. I'm like, maybe I'm delusional here, but no, they, for the state of hockey to be thinking that a puck out of the zone in the neutral zone closer to the offensive zone than the defensive zone should be a, a penalty. I don't think anyone who stood up should get should be able to go to another game. I agree. I agree. You got to give your ticket up. Yeah. I just put it up. I just put it on stub hub. And only do they come back. They tie it up. Then they kill about 45 seconds of that five on three. They finish off the kill. Macaron gets the puck in the neutral zone. What a shot by him. He's in greatness series. Awesome. On the pk can win draws scores that big goal. They go up three, two, and we haven't even mentioned another boldy masterpiece. Oh, my god. And I'm like, holy shit, like this team is nails. Like this team is different. They come back from two old home, it's three, two, they have complete control. And they still can't win that game. And their power play, dude, is not, it is not good. No, it has to be better or they're fucked with the play when they were up three, two, they tied it. The sequence of events that happen, puck hit wallstead in the head is how it didn't came off. He ripped it off. He like kind of shook it off. So face off ends in their zone instead of going down, killing some time, whatever. Face off in their end, Minnesota ends up coming down almost scoring. Aughtinger makes an unreal save, boldly kind of missed it back door, tap in. And then they come down and rant and makes that incredible play over to duchy, which is insane pass, but an insane shot, too, but it's those little small things that it takes in playoffs where, hey, if you're the goalie and you see the puck getting shot down, that's going to kill 20 seconds, just button up your helmet yourself instead of ripping it off. Like, it's little minute things. And I didn't even know it was an edzo biz on that broadcast. It was like, that's not an automatic whistle. Like, I kind of, I think I've heard that I just couldn't, he's like the ref has complete, you know, he's able to. to not blow the whistle just because your helmet's off. If there's a play going on and if you knock it off on your own, like that's not an automatic. Yeah. I think it's they tend to like blow it quick for goalies. I got obviously that case. I thought it was actually weird in the fires game would have let our loss escape the late. They blew it down right away, which was a weird one. It was a couple of seconds though. Yeah. Yeah. But they still blew it down. It was still in the diesel and I think, uh, but Yanns that you just mentioned that like that rotten. And when he got it on the tying goal, 99% of guys try to fire that and score that goal because there was a little bit of an opening. But for him to like do the pump fake, do another pump fake and then everybody's just scrambling in the middle. I used to try to get the block or get in his way. And then he just finds dutchy backdoor. And I don't I feel like dutchy may be earlier in his career and even halfway through his career. Well, one, he was getting bought out by the national fucking predators and maybe got kind of labeled as a guy who couldn't raise his level come playoff time. But he has been one of the best players in the series, especially in the absence of Rupé. How about the back check he had to stop? That was incredible. Yeah. Take it away, man. It's it's been really, really cool to see for a guy who's been kind of pigeon tossed throughout the first half of his career where he's found a perfect home. We've had him on to talk about it as well. He'll do anything for this Dallas team and he is doing it right now. You know what that, you know, the, uh, Wyatt Johnson comparison is what Liam Blutten Blutman told me what Joe, Joe Pavellski because they were together and he I remember seeing videos of them working together. Very slippery sucker as they say. Uh, and he ends up tipping in an absolute beauty and their power play comes to life before I get to Miro Hayeskin. And I thought when they had that power play before, they went through about a minute and a half of it. And I thought Guletson was going to call a time out and maybe use it to get the fresh legs for the last 30 seconds of that power play. He decides not to. He goes with the second unit. They actually got a pretty good scoring chance out of it. And what's he do when he gets their next, they get their next power play? Robertson. And I think one or two other guys from their power play were on the ice when they drew the over the glass call it finally uses that time out. They get to the whiteboard. They make a few adjustments and boom into the back of the net. It's a classic example. Minnesota. It's right in their fingertips. They got it. And then they drop it. They had plenty of power play opportunities. They just can't find a way to pre-soft off to the side of the net. Unbelieve will save by out and your total, total difference of what both organizations have been through and play out. So I want to quickly, I want to get into the wild fans complaints. But I do want to bring up that. They are one for 11 in the last two games on the power play. Who are they missing? Zucarillo. They're missing. Zucarillo. They're right. They had, he's a lefty. But like, yeah, I would love to have favor out on the power play, right? And I understand not having Zuc's a big loss. But Caprisov has to be way better and wild fans. They're, they're talking about it. I mean, he starts to make it 17 million next year in an amazing first game. It was a blowout. Where's he been in the last two? In terms of the Jamie Ben head on, on boldie. I, I loved Henrik Lunkwist on the broadcast. I couldn't believe answer cars. That's not a purpose. I was like, I don't know man. Like Jamie Ben. This is what this guy does. He's, he is a motherfucker. And to just immediately say that I have to kind of eat it too. Cause I, I said that like, ah, you just can't pin it on him. Like he's jump at least jumping, looking like he's out of the way. And in real time, the refs like, are you saying, what should they do? Call a match? Should they call a match and then review it? Like he once the winning, I thought he was going to at least drag it in. He had like no angle there. And then they end up, they end up like taken over and and winning that game. But another example of we talked about Manta flipping it over the glass and Kates makes it four to that year off. Like he flips it over the glass and double over time. You said, Galtz and takes the time out. Boom, game over. They have control. I just want to see what the wild and game for like this, what are they made of? Are they the same old wild, right? Are they going to just kind of up down three, one, lost both home games? There we go. Another first round exit. Are they going to come back, play the game of their season? There seems to be as in all playoffs, a lot of question marks around goal tenting. Yes. And the other series are no different regardless of how to agree. You know, if I was to Lesky under the boss after game one in Tampa, now it's it's that time you're I guess, right? No, no, no, don't do you have any emotional attachment to the battle of Pennsylvania having played for the flyers? Like, how do you feel that series is gone and and maybe what would you have done differently to approach it if you were in that penguins walker room based on where they're at right now? I have a little attachment. Of course, I want the flyers to win first the foremost, but I think just what they went through the last, let's call it 30, 40 games. Actually, really the first 40 went and they were under under siege from fans and you you were a nice recipient of some of that vitriol. But I think as we've as the seed has gone along and I think all of that has all of that has transpired, you know, I think it creates some scar tissue. I think it brings them closer together as a group. And I think now we're seeing a byproduct of the development. I think the understanding of their systems and structure that talk. I think people, whether they realize or not, he's very sound defensively and in his structure and how he wants the team to play and I get to team like Pittsburgh, that's that's in his real house. So he's going to shut them down. And then they've got the offensive weapons to then, you know, with Tyson Forrest to come back and add in part of our tone. They've got more offensive weapons and tip of taking his game to a next level. My God. I mean, think about the last time I was out with you and you know, talking about him and how inconsistent his second half of the year. If he can keep this going for the rest of his career, it's going to be an impressive stretch for him. Personally, I think prongs, you played against talk and you know, obviously he's been around to the league. You've been around the league. What do you see that the way he played that he brings to this team because their mother fuckers out there? Well, as everybody knows, he played hard, highly competitive. You know, I think, but from a grit standpoint, but then showing, showing up in key moments and being accountable, you know, I think that's something that I see with their team that maybe they were lacking more sold than anything else. It's just the accountability to one another and, you know, playing, playing the system, but then playing hard every single night and every single shift. It's, you know, it becomes contagious. And you're seeing that, I think him not caving maybe end of the pressures of the fan base with the development of Matt, they met cough and some of the other younger players in in forcing them to kind of learn the system and the structure that he wants them to play with, without, you know, as they now understand that and they kind of take hold of that, without eliminating their offensive capabilities, you know, I think playing tight defensively, they get quick stops, they get in transition, their defense score gets it up quick. And then those forwards can they can move and you see them playing with pace and speed and, and really attacking with a purpose. And I think that's something they've lacked in years fast, prox. I think obviously after game three, one of the topics of conversations is Pittsburgh fans really feel like they got holes like with the embellishment call on Crosby with the way that connect me went after Russ. Have you ever been in series where you felt like you were getting the short end of the stick, especially after like one particular game, and I got every single one of them. How do you approach every playoffs stories? It's the joke. But that's your hockey league should be embarrassed. I don't know if that's obviously you're you're joking, right? Yeah, I am, Joseph. Okay. Yeah. But but I'm sure that there's been a few games where you have been frustrated. What do you, how do you like act in the locker room? Like what do you do to talk or settle down your teammates or what's the what's the appropriate approach for for the way that Pittsburgh should handle it after maybe feeling that after game three? Yeah, I mean, as you do all know, they've got a very experienced locker room. They've got they've been there, done that. They've been a part of countless teams on the highest stages. Yeah, I expect the you'll get their best in game four. I think it's more a calming and understanding. They still had plenty of looks with respect to power play. They really didn't generate a whole lot. They they look like they were struggling to move the puck around in zone. Filly did a really good job of pressuring at the right time and eliminating scene passes and eliminating the middle of the box. And and in doing so, I think I really kind of anger them a little bit and maybe got them off off their their game. And then if you're your Pittsburgh, it's more just like it's it's one game at a time. When you're down three step, you're you're on desk door. You have to really be focused on next shift. I mean, the cliches come out obviously, but it's next shift, next period, next like, there is nothing after this next game if they don't win. So it's a matter of finding some momentum, you know, getting getting a lead and then holding the lead and trying to defend a little bit better because they've struggled at times. Bronx going over to Minnesota and Dallas. I forgot to mention this part. If the wild lose their 10th straight playoff series, that would be the longest in NHL history. Do you think they have what it takes to get back in this series win game for at home? And would you say if they lose that go down three one, that's curtains for them this series. If they go down three one, it's curtains. Yes. So this next game, you know, two, two or three, one, I mean, vitally important, especially with Dallas having home ice, that's that's only going to add to the pressure and and allow the momentum and the the Dallas stars to really confidence to continue to build. They're getting their big guys all engaged now offensively, which doesn't play into the Minnesota wild winning very much as you get Robertson involved and you get White Johnson involved. Yeah, he's going to is looking great. He just all of their younger weapons or mid-tier weapons are are playing at a high level and that's that's where they're most dangerous. And then you add Rantin and some of these other guys and and it's a it's a machine. I didn't really get a chance to go into Heyeskin in too much before you hop Don Bronx. Like, who would you compare him to from your time and like, what do you what do you see from this guy? You missed the last, I believe three games before playoff started and there was maybe some question marks on whether he's even going to play. And I think he lugged 41 minutes last. And quickly, and quickly we've we had the discussion with you about number one defense man. I believe last night it was 10 minutes power play 10 minutes PK and like 23 minutes five on five. That's kind of what you were talking about. Does that qualify? He's like, no. He's in the colony one. Did he have seven penalties? No. I'm going to cross checks that he inflict on his opposition. No, he's definitely in the conversation. He's had a great year. It's nice to see him come off last year with the with the ACL and everything and and to come back with the type of year he's had. He is as important a player on that team as anybody. Hey, with the minutes he logs, but how he dominates when he's out there. He's such a slick, simple puck mover. He's not flashy. He makes a smart play. He's highly effective defensively. He's such a great skater. Elite edgework, you know, he's a fun player to watch. And, you know, again, hastening McCarrick and all three four in the draft. I don't know if there's a right or wrong way to go. I think if you're Colorado, you're thinking Dallas, but, you know, he's he's on and he's starting to I see his game. Getting to that elite level now, where he's in the conversation for the Norris. He always left me wanting a little bit more. And now he's kind of getting over that hump. He made a play on that first goal about 90 seconds into the game. He didn't get an assist, but I think it was due Shane moved it to Robertson and Robertson's looking to go back door to rent and and hasten and middle lane driving and he doesn't even look at Robo. He goes right to Middleton and he locks up his stick and allows that seam pass to go over like just I just feel like his hockey intelligence from a 200 foot game and so many areas of the game that he touches. I think he's top what eight D-men in the league for sure easily. If not top five and to come out, like you said, to come off an ACL and do what he's doing. It's it's pretty remarkable. I was I was just going to quickly go back to Philadelphia. Did you remember having any funny or silly interactions with their crazy fans? I remember Sean Burke told me a story is he was playing there and they won two one and he was leaving the ring and one of their own fans was like, you suck, Burke, and he's like, we fucking won two one. He's like, yeah, but the goal you let him with shit. And he's like, you cannot keep these fucking idiots happy. They're miserable. You know what? They want perfection by my favorite experience was by first year preseason. We are winning. I think it was five five one or five two. And yeah, and they're, and they're humming along. I am happy for those fans, even though they're scumbags. We got to ask him a little bit more about mini Dallas, no wit. I'm just so antsy to talk about Edminton. If you have something else on mini, I got one for many. I got one for many. Just with Zookarella, what we saw it during the regular season, like how much he means to that team. Obviously, at his age, and he's not their best player on their team, but what he brings to that team is noticeable as even a fan watching. And I got to play with him. So I know he brings, you know, I know what he brings. But what can that team do with missing a guy like that who kind of just seems to settle everybody down, you know, makes the right plays when he needs to. He's lethal on the power play, but what does Minnesota need to do to kind of fill in for that role of him not being there? Well, that's the hard part. It's hard to fill in a guy that has that kind of patience and talk prowess. It follows him around. He, uh, I don't know if he's type of player, you replicate with the stars or pardon me with the wild. He kind of drives the bus as much as it goes to pre-sov and he and Hughes. He's, he's there and is an incredibly important part of what drives our offense. Yeah, he's just so skilled too, and he's just such a veteran, but he's smart, but he's also really smart defensively. That goes unnoticed so much. He did. There's a lot of the little things in the D zone that gets crit to our overs, or he's just he's able to put a stick in the right spot to deny a lane. He's just, he's a really smart hockey player. How long should McDavid be a healthy scratch for game three? Okay, it's had to go there to start it off. I knew he would. He sent it out tweets wit. You need to address this pathetic performance. I'll start off with this, um, I'm not panicked at all. I'm not panicked at all. Did I get a little ahead of myself ranting and raving how ducks fans shouldn't even watch the series? Yeah. Yeah. That one was probably a little bit ridiculous. I can admit, that was the worst two games I've ever seen him play. Forget before the injury and that is scary as hell, the way he looked after it, but even game one and before the injury and game two, prongs, I've never seen him have this many passes deflected. It was very odd like all these plays where he's going under your triangle through your legs. It seemed like he was trying to do too much and it leads into like, I think, I think it's everyone's well aware how bad this guy wants this like he, he is obsessed with getting a Stanley Cup. They lose the gold medal. It makes this mean even more. I think he's just trying to do too much. And I know that sounds crazy because he's usually able to do whatever he wants. But he just seems like the pressure is so high and he wound so tight. It's almost like you need, you need a teammate to kind of calm him down a little bit. The injury part, but first, as you said it, he might have got cut and that was definitely kind of like, yeah, because there's skates around there when that comb kind of falls over. Then you see his ankle just goes in. He leaves the bench. It's like panic time. He comes back and everyone's tweeting and on our group chat, he's back. He's back. I said, well, let's just see for a second. He came back and you could tell like he is, he's, he's kind of worried about it. He's not exactly himself. And then that play on the power play, that's one of the worst plays you've ever, if that was Bouchard who made that play, Twitter might have burned to the ground. And I think it was because like that's a play, Mick David just spins out and I, it was Luke Gadsick. So the clip of Hawking can't say and that's four or five crossovers, boom, he's gone. And you could tell he's just, he doesn't feel right. Now it did look better in the third period, but I want to give the ducks some credit. They put go tie up on the line with Leo Carlson and Troy Terry, Leo Carlson, Leo Carlson boys. If you remember that draft, it was, it was a, but Dard and then it was Phantilly. And Patrick Beak went off the board and he took Leo Carlson. I'm going to read you something very quick. Right now this is regular season through the first 100 and 201 games for Carlson. Dry Cytles first, 191 games. Dry Cytles had 50 goals and 201 games Carlson has 61. Dry Cytles had 87 assists Carlson has 80 123 points for dry Cytles, 141 for Leo Carlson. I think we're looking at a legitimate superstar. He has looked so dominant in these games. He's so fast, so big. Goat, the A comes alive, admitted there, they're in a series. I'm confident they're going to win, but they're in a series, Bronx. I don't, I don't think you're looking at one. I think he is one. Yeah. Right. If you haven't watched, you know, much, much of their season, I don't watch a ton of Anaheim, but when I have, he has always stood out. And I think that injury in the middle part of the season, the thigh injury had, you know, you could see it, him not being at the Olympics for Sweden, really hurt them. You know, that was a key player in, in up the middle for them. And when you're to watch him, just the ability to control the play at all times, when he's out there, he has a puck on a stick and he kind of like McDavid, where he's just wheeling around looking, but I think he, he involved the teammates a little bit more, whereas McDavid wants to take it and kind of use his speed and kind of go through everybody. Carlson's given and going and moving around and, and, and utilizing everybody on his, on his team. So it's, they, they play a little bit the same, but, but differently. And, you know, you, you talk about the stats, you know, it's, it's going to be interesting to see what Pat Furbyk does with this next contract, the little Carlson, because it's, uh, you know, he's just, uh, the, like the Zegress one. Yeah, exactly. For what I've heard, the numbers are, you just brought up dry side, oh, that's the number that I heard. Yeah. Right. And I got a shout out Murl's biz. Murl's was saying he should go number one over all then. And there's part of me right now, I'm like, I'm not, this is not a badard. I would take him over badard in a second, right now, I know, not to like, Hey, badard's going to be awesome. He had a great first half of this year. Like, he's got super start him in his future too. I just like, I mean, you're, you're looking at a guy who's like an, I was a copatar or a bark off, right? Like, you look at a guy who's going to, like, with copatar put up in his prime 100 point seasons where he was fucking all over the ice doing everything. Just a big mongoloid, like, just leaning on you. You can't move him. He's built like a brick shithouse, like, this is what he is. Like, that's what you, that's what you win with. That's your proto toe. If you could make a number one center in a lab, you're creating Leo Carlson and he, people keep also saying that, and I kind of see it too, and I get why they say it. He moves like, like, like, like, Foresburg, like Peter Foresburg, the way he's able to stick candle and control the puck for a guy his size, it almost like faces. It's unnatural. Like, I'm like, how does he do that? Yeah. He's huge. He, he, he skates like the wind and it's just like, I'm, I'm watching him more closely obviously right now. I'm like, this guy's a problem. And then you got Goatier and Troy Terry's playing real well. Now Edmonton really, they went, they went one, one thing I will add is that I think the other thing, the ducks are not scared of Edmonton. Right. I think, I think they've seen, you know, they have just as much pace to their game and speed. They're young. They've got skill. So from that perspective, and you could argue, if you look at the back end, they're probably a little more higher end when you add in Laconne for the tiger Carlson, Carlson's been good. Carlson edition, you know, for the power play, you know, it's, you know, they, they match up really good with them from an offensive perspective. If Edmonton can, Edmonton can tighten things up, you know, and, and not force things. I think at times when they don't get a lot of looks to get frustrated, because they want to be an offensive juggernaut. They want to score goals. And just it's sometimes it's about being patient, winning a two one game. And you talk about number one, D man, that jackson, the comb, bro, he's a son of a lot. He's he's averaging 25 minutes to series, he played 26 in a half game one, three assists last game. I think that he's, I mean, And do you classify him as a number one yet or just well on his way? He's, he, he's trying, I mean, he's still developing his, you know, weaponry, if you will. But he's in the, the, as you talked about, he's going in and where he is on that list. You know, he's in that next year, you know, looking to move up into that Norris conversation every single year. Yeah. He's that good. We haven't even mentioned his cold shoulder to Hyman in the first game. That was just the perfect. I mean, Hyman left the game, you know, luckily he's okay. Now Edminton's side, thank God Leon came back. Leon in game. Well, he looked like he, he hadn't missed a game. I get it was incredible the way he was able to come back. He dominated. He made that play on the winning goal where he got into the zone. He actually went by the comb there. That was a little bit of like holy shit. I thought I had him. He's that good. But in game, in game two, they're still never out of it. It's, it's crack hockey. The oilers play offs. It's legitimately the Joker with his head out the window screaming and yelling and got them. It's like, you are on crack watching this team play. They tied it up. And then to give up that goal, what was so upsetting is Ekholm, who Hyman Bouchard have been great. They really have. Ekholm makes a nice play, retrieves the puck in his own zone. He gets the net. He has the easiest reverse of all time to Leon. Like the guy's kind of on him. I think it was polling and he doesn't reverse it. He gets the net on polling, has room to skate and ice is the puck down. It was like, oh my God, you could have reversed it to your sediment. I don't know if Leon's talking enough, who knows in terms of like communication. Then you ice the puck and they score. It's like, it's just simple mistakes. We've seen a lot of plays in the playoffs so far of dumb iceings. We talked about it's a door off in game one for Boston, where you're like, God, like this team has been through so much and their battle tests in the playoffs and then a mistake like that. Bites him in the ass at the end. We got bad iceings making guys delete their social media. Yeah. Right now. Oh, yeah. Kirby. Doc. That's another one. That's another one. But, but I'll say, um, Euler's fans, there's been some tweets about Ingram's numbers so far. They're not great. I still feel more comfortable in that look with him than I did the skinner. I've talked to a couple teams, um, just about different positions, coaching, you know, managing whatever, um, again, as I said, I'm always willing to have a conversation and hear what the opportunity looks like, both on my side and their side, you know, what, what they're interested in. And, uh, no, nothing's gone further than that. Are you, uh, are you able to say one team doing what I'm doing? Just rooting on every team in the playoffs. Yeah. I've got four teams in the mix right now, but is playing with how is money? How long does it take you prepare, to prepare for like a meeting like that? And you obviously, it seems like you're talking to each team, maybe about different potential roles. So what's like the prep like going into a meeting like that? Just wake up. He's Chris Prongard. Right? No. Um, you know, I think you have to look at what, a, what the role is and then be, you know, what you got to dissect, you know, hockey ops, you got to dissect the team. You got to look at prospects, you got to look at everything to see where they are, you know, in their, every team goes through cycles. And that's, that's where you have to figure out where they are, what they need, where they are and how to first set what you would do. And, and it's going to vary. Everybody's going to be different. I, as, as you know, I tend to just say what's on my mind and I have my own views and opinions. And sometimes they fit, uh, some people and other times I don't, but I'm not going to change that part of it. It, it, you know, certain, if you're asking about your leaves, you know, I think it really just depends on what Matthew's wants to do. You know, he's the, he's the centerpiece of their organization. If he wants to come back, then what does the number look like? You know, it's not, it's not a blank check anymore to keep them. It's, you know, we want to fit you in under our structure and, and salaries, salary, pay, our, our paying a role, what we want to justify paying you to then fill in around you. And as we've seen with other teams and, you know, we, it's, it's, it's Toronto. It's, he's going to make a lot of endorsements and, and all the rest of that, he wants to be a part of it. And so he did, I, he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild, which I don't blame him. You know, that will take a little bit of time to go through the whole, uh, ordeal of draft picks, which they don't have currently. They're going to have to get. All right. So, it must have been weird seeing that goal disallowed and then they half the lower ball. They thought the game was over and they left and then they weren't allowed to come back in the building. So, you were there just to kind of witness all that. - Yeah, well, first of all, it was fucking weird that I was even there. I told my brother, I had like a handshake agreement with him that if I was ever not in playoffs and he was, which to me, I was like, there's no chance he was ever gonna happen. So, I guess that was some bad karma for me. So, I held up my end of the bargain. I'm like, I will go. I'm not going to Ottawa, but I will go there. First of all, those fans, they were super nice. Like they're actually like really, really, really good people. And you don't really realize when you're watching it from not being a player, how loud that fucking building gets. Like what and at, like probably that building and Edmonton game six, two years ago and then Colorado playoff series, like my second or third year, the loudest buildings other than Florida, like our Calgary, like being in a way of building for a playoff game. So, really, really cool. Gold disallow was weird. We got right up, we had some people waiting for us to bring us down to see Brady. So, we got out of the elevator downstairs or waiting in that long hallway in Carolina. And I look up the ice and I see some of the players on Carolina having left the bench yet. So, I go and I look and they're showing stuff in the jungle trying to get no idea what's going on. All of a sudden they come out disallow and go and auto was like management. And like they're eye in the sky and everybody walked by us already. So, they came down from the press box to go into the locker room. So, they're all walking by us. Everyone's like, you know, not a great mood. They announce it and we all race to the elevator go back up to like our clubbarian. Yeah, I got to watch the rest of it. I mean, auto, they play good Carolina's just stingy. Like they play really, really solid. I think that it'll help auto going back home. So, I do think Carolina is a little bit of a different team on road versus home with the starts and like the energy they come out of the gate at home. Like you got to just hold on. It seems like at the start. But going back home, it'll be good. I think everybody knows it doesn't matter what you do in playoffs until you lose a game at home and then you're screwed. So, I mean, this thing can still go in the distance here. Matthew Timmy-Stutzel. He's been all over it, right? Like he's getting opportunities. He's got great looks at it. Just hasn't hasn't found it yet. Like what do you think will take for him to pop off? 'Cause it looks like he's on the verge of just popping off and being an absolute menace out there. - Yeah, he's dancing. He was definitely dancing in that game too. Think with Carolina, like they're not going to give you anything easy. So, like you have to be willing to be the guy, a man-on-man and put that head down and take a rate to the fucking mat. Like you just, you got to do it. Like it's a hard system to play, but it is hard to play against. So, I mean, I look for all that. Even like a, it's telling Brady too. Like when you're playing a team like that that really leaves like if the D's man-on-man, like they're going out to the point. Like they'll go anywhere. They'll go anywhere with you. They'll chase you up and down the ice. I was talking to my dad about it during the game. I'm like watch up. Like Chatfield had the guy that was stretched out and like a neutral zone break out. And his guy came all the way back below the goal line. And normally when you come back in most systems, like the forwards, take the low three. He followed the guy all the way back. So, it really comes down to one-on-one battles against these guys. And I was talking to him, Brady, like if you're at the net, scream for that puck. Trust yourself. And I'm one-on-one match up in front of the net against whoever. You're stronger than majority of their players. And just trust it. But they got to start growing stuff to net. You saw, I don't know, we scored the second goal. Just throughout there. It was never known that I believe. And then that's when I was thinking like, all right, Anderson sucked one in finally. Like they were, you know, it's too not in Carolina. You're like, oh, they get back into it. They tied up on a weak goal. But Anderson's been good. What's surprising to me is that Olmark's been incredible. I thought if Olmark played like this, they had him. Now the series is far from over. I do want to mention the hurricanes are now 14-0 in their first two home games of any playoff run. So it's like one of the responses was the opposite of the conference finals. But in the first round, their first two home games, they don't lose. So it's like, auto has got to be prepared for, you know, going down there and having a tough time getting a win. But I think they go home based on how they're playing. I think they're able to get it to 2-1. Yeah, I mean, I talked to my brother after the game quickly. I go, the thing that you guys got to take away from this game is, first of all, there's some guys in the team that look a little bit tired, look a little bit worn down with some of physicality. So that's every team. I mean, some of the auto would just look like that too. But at least they know you're for real. You know, like they know you guys should have won that game the way you guys played in the second half. But Carolina did dominate in that first half of that game. And if it wasn't for all market, it would have been probably five or six, one after two. But he's been playing amazing. that save you made to keep in the game. I think it was too nothing. Then next thing, you know, a few minutes later, you know, my dad said, "Remember that save two minutes later, five minutes later, it's two, two." So play have certain knots. But as long as you have a hot goalie, like that's the best thing for their team right now is how well he's playing and just gotta keep it going. - Matthew, game one, obviously you said, you told us you were there, Brady drops the myths for-- - Game two, I was there, game two, I missed that for-- - Oh, you missed it, okay. So game one, did he give you a text or anything before that? Like you guys set it up there in our nation. - Yeah, better than our mark. - No, I had no idea. I was on a boat down to, down to Miami with my team for the end of the year, BASH. - Yeah, you didn't even see the game. - Yeah, it didn't even wad. So I'm getting all these texts like you see what Brady did. Like it was awesome, like white was sick. And I'm just like putting myself in not Brady shoes, but like any other player in the league shoes. Like the way playoffs are that first day, it doesn't matter if you're playing in, like if you're playing in the playoffs or not like you're all like kind of glued in or what's going on, what type of playoffs this is gonna be. And I really think that fight set the tone. I mean, the East is an absolute insane display of, I don't even know if it's hockey right now. It's like WWE with a little bit of hockey being played on the side, I guess it's crazy, it's a lot more physical and you guys fucking started that trend. - Yeah, copycat league. - Yeah, well, I mean, I don't, I would, people say that, I don't remember our games being quite like that. I just think that we just, - Are you out of your fucking mind? - I just think we just have the animals. - We sickle. - I love it. - I'm gonna have to go watch the game tape. - Benny's gonna win the Lady Bang next year. - You're the reason that Tampa Bay got Scotty Sabrin and they're lying up. You basically made that, that, that, that, that, but even, even, even look at like buff, I mean, Montreal, like, I've only watched a little bit of that series 'cause I've been more glued to Buffalo and Boston because what I'm seeing from Buffalo is like the greatest thing in sports right now. But I've barely been watching Tampa in Montreal but like, you gotta give both those teams credit, like they're playing hard and Montreal is like, stay in right there and like, they almost are instigating some of like Josh Anderson. I was saying it on, on our pod the other day, like, he might be consmife right now. Like, playoff, best playoff player right now. Like, he's dominating. Like, he's killing guys. Like, I would not wanna play against him right now. I'd have my head on a swept out there against him but he's a, and then, and then- - It's vintage Tom Wilson. - Yeah, he's like kinda like playing like Benny and Wilson. Like, these guys that can go through you, could put it in, like, you just gotta watch. And he's like hitting a hurt too, which is, those guys are scary to play against. Like, they're not just hitting the, add another hit on the statue. Like, they're trying to do some damage. So, yeah, playoffs, playoffs are crazy. And all these series, especially in the east, are pretty fun to watch. I mean, it sucks so much like from my perspective too because we know what these games feel like. And here we are watching these teams, like, going absolutely insane and knowing they have a chance to win and just makes you wish that you were in. It's so bad. It doesn't matter what we've done the last few years. What have you done for me lately, League? - I wanna go back, I wanna go back quickly, bis to the no goal, the Janikowski no goal. All right, so I have a couple of friends that don't really watch hockey till the playoffs. And talk about confusion for people. They're like, all right, hold on. So, the goal was called back because it's off sides, but then you can get a penalty in a play that basically didn't exist considering the play before that was off sides. I get it too. I'm like, as a former player and a guy who covers the NHL, like that just makes no sense to me. I don't. - Well, they do it to protect the fact that like, okay, let's say two minutes goes by. I will one minute into it. The guy suckers a guy in the jaw. What are you knocking? - Yeah. - He doesn't get the penalty for suckering in the jaw 'cause that time didn't exist. I, they should then, if to clean that up, make it so like anything like a rough or something physical would be a penalized where maybe like a hook or a trip wouldn't. - Maybe just like a major penalty call it. A penalty, everything else had never happened. 'Cause that is crazy how you can call penalty shot after like a little stick lift that I know it should have been a penalty shot. And then everybody's jacked up on, everybody's pissed off from the stands that it's no goal. But then they get a penalty shot so then it's jacked up again. Half the people are gone. - It was bizarre, that was weird. - It was a bizarre scene. I just hate the rule where they're like he had possession but they're saying he didn't have control. - So that's the problem. - It's so stupid, he clearly did. - He made a play. - The thing is now, Matthew, you know it better than anyone. Like, all right, you know how many good players have possession of the puck without the puck on their stick? Like I think a coach of how he's like carrying it but his stick isn't always on the puck. Like I doesn't, if you have possession, you have control. Like in the NHL, you got possession, you got control. You can't tell me. Oh yeah, possession, you didn't have control. That is where I think fans are like, what, what? - It was dumb. - What is, what? - Rewrite the rule. - Like even law, you can put it in Kutrum's feet. He's still got possession. But like if you, even if you like stab at a puck or poke check a puck, like that's possession. You're intentionally doing that, it hits your stick. You're not just, you're not blocking a shot, you know? Like it's, I mean, but even if you block a shot, it hits your stick, you don't have possession. You still get an assist if it goes to somebody for a goal. So it is, it is weird. I feel like if it just touches your stick, it should, I don't know. That's a tricky one because, yeah. I mean, they got to figure that out because that can't happen again. What happened there can't happen again. They got to figure out the whistle after and everything, it's just, it's confusing. And I don't really understand it. - I want to go back to, you talked about it earlier, about how crazy Caroline of that building is and the fans and like surviving the first 10 minutes, when me and Yannes played with Arizona, it felt like every time I went to San Jose during the Joe Thornton Marlowe, like the first 10 minutes, it was like, all fuck boys. Just hang on, hang on, you're too many men. ♪ I'm about to bust ♪ But, and you were also talking about it on your podcast, how fans, and like they can dictate momentum. And how you played in the series against Colorado, where you say, with early in your career, where you felt that for really the first time early, just kind of maybe describe and go through like the emotions and what can be done on the road with fans getting crazy and how can it affect you as a road team? - Well, I give credit to our fans here in Florida as well because, you know, we could have, we could have Barkey winding up the puck in the D zone and they're getting to their feet. They know something potentially is going to happen. So they're loud, like same thing with Caroline, and I go back to Colorado earlier my career. Anytime there was change of possession, they were transitioning, like they were coming in ways, like just way after, like line after line. And they were going so insane, like you couldn't even think, you couldn't hear the coach calling the name for the next line. You couldn't, like hear the guy coming off, you couldn't make a little play because you couldn't hear your guy there calling for it. So, fan noise and energy, whether they know it or not, plays an enormous part in playoff hockey. Absolutely huge. For even, I mean, I know this sounds a little bit crazy, but like even in a scrum, it always works on the momentum of the home team. So you look at that like scrum yesterday in the Pittsburgh Philly game, I'm sure you guys have like talked about, all right, that was nuts. But like that only works towards the home team's momentum. - That's crazy. - That's the only thing it does. Like it really does nothing to, in a way, in a sense, so like a way team could be, you know, now boys, it's us against the world, but you gotta have dogs, they have that mindset. So it's tough. I mean, you gotta be careful to get sucked into certain things. And then again, that's going again. So like when I was talking about with Brady, again, stall because I think for both teams there, like you're just showing both your teams, like, what's fucking go? This is a war, like boys strap up. This is gonna be the toughest atmosphere we're ever gonna play. I'm like, we're ready to fire away at it. So I look at it both ways. Like, you know, it can work in that situation, but then in that last night, I mean, Pittsburgh, or sorry, Philly dominated the rest of the night and because their fans just saw something that they needed a rally behind. They got behind it so much, they were so loud, so passionate, and they take over the game. So they have a huge part. They definitely play any norm as part of it. I mean, I think about when we played in, when we played in playoffs, man, well, is it two years ago, or last year, when we were playing against the Rangers, I felt like we were a better team than the Rangers, and when we were playing in New York, like those were some hard, hard games. Like they were loud and it was hard to think out there. So I remember that was definitely one atmosphere that was really good that I can remember your band Florida. - That's just a nice reminder to Rangers fans of the setting, how they were conference finals two years ago, and they haven't sniffed the play offsets, but. - Not what I meant, but. - Hey, talk about, I know. Talk about, we're talking about dogs. And you know, as well as anyone, Brandon Hagel, buddy, you go back to February 2025 in Montreal, the fight you guys had, what he's kind of done since being in Tampa. I mean, 90 point guy, he fights, and what he did against Slav Kovsky and the reaction from the crowd, the Gordy Howe hat trick, like. Yeah, kids of player, huh? Yeah, the him and Slav Koski are probably the two best players along with Anderson in that series right? I wouldn't look at like production and just like being hard to play against and Physical like you know the playoff hockey were being both being able to produce and be in physical. So I love seeing like fights like that when two guys that like don't care Like somebody said it during the broadcast last night. Maybe this were you were you and yeah, you were on it last night It was you yeah Where it's like at the end of the day like these scrubs are bullshit. Like why don't you just fight like enough with this stuff? I said yeah, I said like after the first. Yeah, I got everybody going but like I would be happy if I never saw one the rest of the game Like let's play good flying pace action and I was happy when Hagel and Slav went because it's like that goal Yeah, that can just go that's my point right there It's like at the end of the day like these two guys haven't had go fights more than stuff Koski But like stuff Koski's a big guy. Like and you know handles. I mean He's a huge Man like that's strong and like obviously he's gonna have to do that once in a while So I thought it was awesome that that fight I actually wasn't even watching the game at the time because watching the boys at Buffalo and the rural or blade guys, but It's awesome. I think playoff hockey is the best you think about a couple of years ago Stan Kos and Matthew's fighting they both had like 16 goals or 50 goals like it's the best I remember One of the highlights of my my playoff experience so far in Florida is Just the atmosphere when I fought past rack that game like that was One of like the coolest moments like from I mean just from my end being at home and having the home crowd rally behind that and Playing against boss and so though those stuff Those stuff add up in series. I thought it was great from both of them to really answer a question and Two great players that are definitely dragging their teams in the fight and the series is Pretty legit right now. So maybe I have to start tuning a little bit more in Hegel hegel like it's just a hot. It's a good hockey IQ thing to fight him Because slap has the hat trick in the first game wins it for them and over time and then after he I mean he kind of knocked them out and slap was not very good after that fight. He fucking turned it over to him on that time goal Yeah, so it was a very hard to play by Hegel in Hegel two nose I'm not like this crazy tough guy. I'm one of our best players He's he can't not say yes to me in this fight. I thought it was a really smart play by Hegel admin at the end of the day like those two guys and those two teams like I don't think like I said people give Montreal the credit for maybe because they're a little bit younger and maybe just not as much playoff experience But there's some dogs over there. They they've given us a little bit of a hard time in the last couple of years like there They're legit don't don't sleep on those guys for just for being skilled guys like they got I mean look at Anderson Haven't leading the way they've got some they've got some boys that can play hard their defense is really really underrated. I think so Yeah, it's it's awesome. It's great for hockey that that's just that's I'm since you brought it up on the blade gang. How many times did you watch that original video? I have in it. Um, I'm sure you've been a part of teams that you just go through these slumps. Like, how hard is it to not kind of get snappy at each other on the bench and like, you know, every, if they get one tonight and they don't score on that one, it's like, it just keeps growing and growing. Like you ever remember a time where it's been a tough slump and you're trying to just figure it out as a group? Yeah. For sure. There's always, there's always stuff throughout the year where, where that happens or if like, you know, sometimes you feel like if you take a penalty, it's just going to go in your net. Like you always go through both go through those. But I mean, if I'm, if I'm in their situation, I'd stack the first unit, I'd play them for two minutes the whole time because when you're, when you have like these split units and you're both units are struggling, all it takes is one clear and you're like, Oh, I got to get off like at the end of the stack when you put your best players on one and let them ride the whole time. That's how you're going to get out of it. And that's how the top players, when you get out of it and you start scoring the power play, you get confidence in five and five and then they can put up seven or eight on the Bruins. Like that's just, that's what I would do. But that's why I'm not a coach. But how important is it to have a good power play going in to or in play us because like right now watching Colorado, they don't scare me as much as other teams because they can't score on the power play. Yeah, power plays huge, but the number one thing that's most important in playoffs is penalty kill. If you have a good penalty kill, it goes back to defense once championships, but I look back at our team the last two years. And nobody talks about our series against Tampa. Like, you know, the last two years because it was one of his first round and they were both in five, but that's the biggest reason it was because of our penalty killing. Obviously, they've got one of the best power plays in the league for the last, however many years. But our PK was dynamite and very, very, very solid throughout the rest of the playoffs, especially in that round. So that's number one thing that gets that needs to get hot if you want to have a chance and then physicality. And one thing I was actually talking about two with, I don't forget I was talking about it the other day, one big thing that nobody talked about that I think fans would really enjoy to hear and they might think I'm fucked up for this. But like, when guys are injured or banged up, like, look at some of these guys around the league that are just coming back or might come back or missing a game that's you like players target them not to hurt them, but you are so physical and like, you know what injury these guys have had. And you know, if they're playing 100%, you know, if they're not and I know, I know guys, like when I played against Vega, I learned this from Vegas because when I hurt my sternum against them, the next two games or whatever I play that I was getting punched in the chest, hit on the shoulder, cross check every single face off in the middle of the shift, the end of the shift is scrum everything. So I'm like, damn, these guys are motherfuckers. Like, they know I'm banged up and they keep coming. They want me like, they want me left in a body bag. So I think you're starting to see some of these teams like with some of these guys come back. I know some guys in Tampa are probably coming back soon. I know a couple guys in Ottawa are coming back soon. Like for fans out that I wouldn't be surprised like if you're starting to see this because that's how players think and that to me is a huge, huge part in having success in playoffs is knowing how healthy the other miz staying healthy your team and going after these guys. I tell the story all the time. Tom Wilson, when we played them in playoffs, there was a scrum in front of the net and he skated out to the blue line to come grab me and just kept punched. Yeah, I had a separated shoulder. He just kept punching me in the shoulder. He's like, is it this one? Is it this one? And then he grabbed my other shoulder. He's like, is it that one? And I'm like, yeah. Yeah. Like last year, last year we were playing Tampa and for Heggie hit a certain night first period. I think Sirelli got tangled up on a face off in the first period and, you know, we're in there after the period, like trying to talk amongst each other's like, which way did they fall? Like, you know, this isn't that. And we know that they're doing it to me because after every single whistle or every face off, they're pushing my leg or grabbing my leg because of my ad hocter stuff. So it's a full game within the game ship. That's what makes playoffs like the best and it makes the cup the hardest to win in sports because it is sometimes can be the longest, most gruesome two months ever. Every guy's a doctor abyss. They got looking at X-rays in a period. Yeah. Operating operation. Oh, I was just a chat GPT and McDavid left the game yesterday. I'm like, falling inside. What pendant is that? Yeah. What's that? So I think that's the biggest part I've learned with playoffs is like it goes so deep with research and free scouts and a lot of it's injury related. But Florida didn't play nasty, guys. They didn't do anything. They were just like wings. They were just snapping it around. That's every team. I mean, we learned that from Vegas the year before. They were so ruthless. And bigger and last year. And it was, it was, you were in lessons and playoffs throughout. And that was, that was, I mean, I remember playing the ducks my rookie year. Holy shit. I wasn't even injured. I felt like I had every part of my body injured the way they're staying. They were coming after me and everything. I'm like, this is, this is the man's game. Okay. There's a different, you know, I final scene of Braveheart when the guy like takes the, takes all the, the, the tools out. Like he's about to fucking cut his gut open and stuff like that. That's pretty much what it's like. Um, you, we were just talking about all these injuries. I think a pretty cool component though is, um, I met a bunch of the, the panthers with you. Yans at that. It was a J bar. What's the bar? You guys always go to by your house. The one that you could play the, they let you play the music whenever you want. Every bar, ever. No, we went there with with F L's, F L's, all great spot. And like your, your guys like ART massage therapist guy I was there and how important it is to have like a really good one who can help fix you up quick because you guys are all dealing with these nagging things like I was you he was doing like every team in the Olympics. Like they really, really are and I think you don't you don't play this many games the last few years and going that many deep runs and and I mean this year was such a weird year with injuries, not like any injuries like that related. It was all like broken bones and shit weird. But like for those guys to keep us healthy through a hundred plus games every year, like they deserve all the credit and what like they're working way harder than we are. Just keep us on the ice. So I think teams got a really, really that's probably the way the leagues are going to go. I think the next step is like really, really taking that up a notch with having whether it's more people around or you know more shit on the road. We travel with like blow up cold tubs that they just put in the pool area. It's like little stuff like that. Like where should we stay over a lot? Like we do all this stuff that's really changed from like my first couple of years in the league to like I don't know if it's sports science related or just recovery. I think it's put under the recovery umbrella, but that has become the biggest part because this game is so fast and physical like you can't just tip toe your way through the year and expect to be playing at your best come June. So those guys like Timmy and the whole staff like y'all to give them a shout out because they're truly the glue to our organization and allowing us to do what we've done and hopefully continue to what we want to do. Because I think he, I think Vinnie Viola found Timmy. He was getting like PT. I guess his back was all messed up. He was getting PT and like Virginia or something like that. Like that team's never out of it. Never there. Crazy. That that series is probably the one. I look at like all the playoff as a whole right now. That one is a little bit different. Like you would tell Vegas is not as fast, but they're more physical and they're trying to wear them down and, and, and they have the guys that can do that and play, right? I'm like, you know, I think the reason for the compare, I think the reason for the comparison is like, you have these like, players who seem to kind of not give a fuck. They want to rest. They don't want to, I think that like the, the overall emotional investment that they're providing that their sport is, is, is a correlation to the drop in viewership and how much hockey players care and they put into their craft and the respect that people who want to watch live and entertainment are now giving it. Like hockey is a very niche sport and to see that it's, it's gaining so much ground on something like the NBA. I think that that's why they're kind of just comparing the two. Like, they compare it because you play the same amount of games in the same season. Okay, well, yeah, okay. I don't, I don't know if like, you think that's why? Yeah, like they don't do it with baseball because it's in the different seasons and they play way more games. Well, I think they say it's the same amount of games way more physical and they're still able to like up their level in the playoffs. Yeah, but I think it's just the I think it's the easiest to compare in a sense of game play. It's just like a continuous thing and, you know, okay.
