Spittin' Chiclets Episode 627: Featuring Mike Keane

The podcast episode blends a discussion of the popular social deduction game *Bar Soul Sports*, where players assume secret roles to identify "bad guys" through strategic deception, with in-depth coverage of recent NHL games. It highlights the chaotic energy of matchups like the Oilers vs. Canucks, where high-stakes moments—including a violent fight between Brent Clark and Nathan MacKinnon, a dramatic goal by Connor McDavid, and a viral meme of Louie Erickson with Babs’ face—drive fan engagement. The episode also analyzes team changes, such as the trade of defenseman Marchenko to Toronto, which sparks debate over player potential and fan sentiment. Other highlights include standout performances by players like Trevor VanReams and rookie Bob, and the emotional impact of injuries, such as Billy G’s fractured skull. Throughout, the host combines sports analysis with humor, emphasizing the unpredictability and entertainment value of both the social game and the NHL season. The tone is energetic, reflective of fans’ excitement and frustrations, and underlines how these events create lasting memories and viral moments. The episode serves as a mix of gaming insight and live sports commentary, celebrating both the strategic depth of social games and the raw drama of professional hockey.

He can handle the song man. It's a full-time member. Marley just gotten us this from Chris Bate. Whoa, we're buzzing right now. Sunk. What is up folks? Welcome to episode 672 of Yes boys that pinkies up spit and chicklets podcast. We're back hockey back. We were, yeah, we were wondering what to expect. And oh, did we get a couple storylines? Just two nights into the season boys. We got two nights of games. We had five games. We had three games, eight games total. Right now it is Thursday, 11, 15 a.m. Eastern and biz you own the Philadelphia flyers. I did not expect. I was getting some pinkies up. Why? Yeah, pink. Yeah, no, if the pinky was a missile or a gun, but I'll tell you this, shout out, pinky, pinky's up and pink Whitney again. I did not expect to see a clip of Sidney Crosby walking into the ring for you then to talk over and say, he's gonna shove it up your ass tonight, Philly. As you were in Philly, what made you, you went, you went to the dark side quick. Oh, they were rowdy in that. They were all the whole game. Even after they lost seven, nothing, they were the whole time. It's barking in our ear just to come back people's true scumbag people. You know what, though, they, but the minute you come around and you come down the steps and you meet all of them, they're kind. It's kind of like me. A lot of bar, not a lot of bite. It's like you too with Billy G. It was like, it was like, it was like the Billy G treatment all over again, buddy. Like when I meet babs, you've ever seen that, that little meme video of the two dogs on and then the gate opens up and then they're just like, they look at each other and walk the other way. That's kind of how it was. But a fun night in Philly, we had Chuck on the broadcast. We had Gary Jonesy Popeye less than ideal performers. I think the worst home opener in Flyers history. I don't think they shut out the penguins since like the year 2000 or 2001 at home. So pretty dreadful. Too pathetic. A true. They play tonight, I believe in Jersey. So it's almost nice. I think to get back on the horse, but I think talks glasses that might have to get addressed. And in terms of all bark, nobody would I say this to talk face probably not. I don't know. I would never even think I would recommend not. I don't think he's a glasses guy. He never had glasses. You're you're less of a glasses guy than him. He never had glasses on last year, correct? Right. But he was talking to Wayne about how the fact that he's hit the age where his like I say to start to go a little bit. And like sometimes like people probably get weirded out by like touching your eyeball and putting contacts in Wayne. Wayne said that he got the surgery where he basically got like implants of no, it's not Lasick. I said, oh, Lasick. And he's like, no, it's not Lasick. And then he was talking about these implants that he had put in his eyeball. It's like you're Wayne Gretzky will give you somebody else's eyes. Like here you go. And then there's a bunch of Canadians like, I'll give you my actually. Yeah. I will say this. I just think talk would be better off with an eye patch over an eye. Yeah. He's one of those guys where like it doesn't even matter if he can see the game. He's such an intimidating guy on the bench. Like I'd have an assistant coach telling him what's going on in his ear before having him wear those. The way that they played I think I would rather go blindfolded on the bench. Yeah. I'm sure he didn't understand. Yeah. I don't have to watch this anymore if I just tie something over my eyes. Dan Mew's on the other hand, a finals for the Jack Adams last year. That's a glasses guy. And that makes sense that they go in there and they kick the shit out of Philly. It looked like a before and after. Look bad in it. That's talk right there. No, it looks great. Yeah, he looks phenomenal. It's just more of the good luck factor. It just wasn't. Yeah, as finished your before and after, that was what about that was going to be funny. No, I was just saying it looked like like used look like a malnourished pocket. Look on the other bench. It's just like, it's like, you know, it isn't one in 15 games in the lab watching video. Like just fucking, you know, haven't had any fucking protein. But buddy, did he have the penguins ready to play and big shout out to the penguins. No Brazil, no rust. Kindle was out of the lineup. I mean, graves. I don't know if he's fits in the top, top six, but very, very impressed by the newcomers, just like I was impressed by the newcomers from last year with Pittsburgh. Like these guys getting the lineup. Nick Robertson, a guy who couldn't even fucking, he had the beg for a first line shift with the Toronto Maple Leafs. He gets put on Crosby's line two goals in the first game. One was a little bit of a lucky bounce off the N wall off the dark. But how about that third line, boys? That third line, Hendrix Lapierre. It's going to be one of those things where these kids, like everybody in the league grew up idolizing Sid and like these young kids come in and they get a chance to just even be on the same team as him and they are going to give it all they have. Try to show off not for themselves, but just even like prove to Sid that they belong in the league and good for them because man, like you can win a job and you're playing, you know, once these other guys come back, like you might get put on waivers and there's 31 other teams that might pick you up. So they're playing for themselves and it's cool to see, especially early in the season when it takes the older guys a little bit longer. These young guys can come in and and help you out and they did that last night. I'll say with like from personal experience, I'll never forget one of the only I played 15 regular seasons with the regular season games with the 15 too many, which make a wish fucking ran long out of your holy shit. Did I wait this guy still on the team? I thought this is going to be a one day video shoot while he's still here. We haven't been paying, are we? But we went into Philly and just the way that they would like bark at Sid and all the signs they had, it made for a way more emotional game. I'll never forget. I got my first NHL point on a, I think it was a max Talbot or Tyler Kennedy goal and we were on a line together and I ended up fighting Aaron Asham, but being just being in Sid's presence, knowing that he was dealing all with that verbal barrage, how much going into Philly and beating them in Philly, like it was a way more amplified regular season game than then then most, at least then in the 15 I played with Pittsburgh, that one felt like the biggest one and we ended up I think winning two won. So I just like kind of you mentioned, those kids probably had the same feeling like let's not fuck this up for Sid. And you look at the first goal that they scored. Sid gets blown up by Risto, but they don't overreact, they don't have guys come trying in to try to fight. They work hard, they get the puck back and they score a goal and they get their team on the board because that's what Sid would do. This guy has, he's teaching people with just the way he, he's the prime example of lead by example. Did I read that I think now he's the longest tenured captain in NHL history in his 21st season? Hasn't he been a captain longer in his life than he hasn't been a captain in the NHL? Probably with Ramoski, yeah. No, no, no, like in the NHL, he's turning 40 next August and this is his 20th year as captain. So yeah, she's been an NHL captain longer. He's been alive. Jesus, right. I'll say, I'll say this Toronto fans who I believe nice win against the Islanders on Wednesday evening tough lost Tuesday night, but Nick Robertson is there a chance if like he, he gets 25 goals. It's weird. He never, he said after the game, too, he's like, I'm not used to ever getting like minutes like this, right? And I don't think he ever really shot fired. He would always play like 11 in minutes. Anyway, I think he was over 15 minutes. night and it's like that could be a guy that if what his leash was this long and strong. Yeah, it was different coaches too. Yeah, it didn't really make sense. I would have liked to have seen him get a little bit more opportunity. I'm pretty sure I set it on pass podcast where it was just the line shuffling and fucking most cases. In some cases, he was getting sent back down to the minors. So I, I, I kind of also assumed that it was also a ploy to try to lure in Jason Robertson. Yeah. Because I give his brothers having fun and vibe in there. You see the mom and how crazy and love how much she's loving when both of them are playing against each other. Imagine having her and the crowd would bolt at them on the same team, which is still very much a possibility if they ended up bucking up and maybe, maybe he has a great season there, but really, really cool to see him get the monkey off the back. And you mentioned nobody doing anything. But when he did get hit by Ristalline and Robertson, kind of gave him that shove. And then he scored a Sid goal to an honor. He scored this. That was pretty cool. That little tip shot. That the hack at the park. I love that Sid tip. It looks way easier when Sid does it even Robertson than it actually is. Like that. If I'm trying that move, it's 50, 50. It hits my, the blade of my stick and goes right into my teeth. I'd have it's not just like patch on. It's not easy. Yeah. I tried to have the pirate patch on my face. Um, the, I don't know if you know, not well. Obviously, you know, JVR, but Trevor Van Reams, like very impressive his first game. Yeah. Some great pinches, great job in the ozone, good, like, these own sticks. So pretty, pretty impressive performance boys by the whole Penguin squad. Yeah, they looked awesome. That's exciting for them. And and Philly, like, just to leave the fans with that taste in their mouth. That's a good game one day. Oh, yeah. Of course they boot them. I mean, and I don't really blame them to be honest with you. Like, that's like, that is one of the worst efforts I've ever seen. And it's the first night of a new season at home. Luckily, they get to play today or they could have a, um, like a bagskate possible. I don't know. Do you bagskate after the first game of the year? I know, I think you flushed that one down the toilet. I feel like most of the games have still kind of felt like preseason games. Yeah, at least one of the teams on that. That's a topic to bring up, um, started with the first game of the season. Cool to see Jordan stall carries out the Stanley Cup, right? Pretty crazy. The entire team's back. Well, I guess Niketion's not there because he wants like 10 million a year. I don't know what that, but where's that guy? I think he should get nine 10 million here. I don't understand that. So he turned down eight times six is what I'm hearing. Is that what somebody said? I saw that. I didn't see that round two, but it's, I mean, that was reported yesterday, but it's your right. Okay, wow. So, um, going full Russian and, and Carolina, it's exciting. Fans are fans are going nuts. The banner is, and then the banner's sitting there crooked. I'm like, Dundin's probably list snapping on someone right now that the banners crooked. Sure, they have that fixed, but that game, one of the most boring hockey games that I've ever seen. And in terms of what you're saying, Biz, like the shorter preseason, I think we have to expect some of these games. It's like the NFL now, right? Where a lot of guys don't play in the preseason. It's the first few games. It's like, all right, we're not there yet. Why don't you read it? The CBA, they said no fitness testing, only two games for veterans, and you can't work on the power play and training can't be there. So that's some teams. Yeah, some teams didn't get the memo, though, Colorado. What was the power? Was it over 13 come out for seven and over six in the game one? I thought the game play got better in the second third period, but what you saw, though, was Florida, being like, Hey, we got our rest, and we're going to fucking bring out the anaconda, anaconda chokehold game one of 84 here and show people what we're about. And you got to imagine, Mark, he was like, Oh, this is what it's like not seeing, odd man rush after odd man rush and grade A after grade A, he was big when he had to be, but it's going to be a totally different look for him and net not dealing with all the bullshit like he does in New Jersey. Yeah, and he just made those saves that he that he needed to make. He made one. There was a two on one on the five on three. He made a save and then a break away. Short hand a break away. He made a great save. But yeah, the first night, the power plays were three for 31. And then the second night last night, the power plays were seven for 24. So at least they got a little better. Thanks, Colorado. Haven't haven't talking to, you know, some of the guys in that carolina, Florida game. As a viewer, I didn't love watching it. I just expected maybe a little more like high offense, you know, first game back. Those guys ready to go, but they said it was like a playoff game that it was not a ton of room to make any no one wanted to make a mistake. It was just, it was basically like the first game of the season was a playoff game. And you got to expect those two teams know that they're going to be playing each other at some point during the playoffs to get to the finals. It felt like that. Like Halsey got tripped by Kool-A-Cov. And I don't know if it was a cutchuck on the ice or somebody where when when Halsey was on the ice, they just went like, like, like flick this stick, like, fuck you. Yeah, yeah. Get off your fucking get off your ass. You know, like it had that vibe to it where they were, they were the hate was real. Yeah. And then Doloree fought a mama. Is that his name? Yeah, go go mama. Boko mama of Doloree had just crushed someone too. I don't remember who that was along the wall, but in total 35 shots, 20 for the Panthers, 15 for the Hurricanes. I'd love to know if there was a game last year where Caroline only had 15 shots, but that's Florida, right? They're showing up. They're ready to go. They don't have much on yet. I think Dunn and took back a few of the analytics guys rings after only getting 50 he put on like some cousins names on the cup and took off a couple players track the jackbox rings and he gets takes back the real ones. Just unreal. So the banner was crooked. I never noticed that. They got up there all of a sudden. It was like sitting crooked. I was like, oh, I don't know, something's going on there, but I'm sure they, you know, that gets fixed. That gets fixed. No, it looked it looked way bigger than the oh six one, too. Is that normal? I kind of think that yeah, I don't know if that was just like how the angle of it is the exact same as the oh six one. I don't know. It doesn't really matter season over Hurricanes. I'll tell you this. I'll tell you this right now, though, being back with hockey, being back, it was more excitement. We talked with murals about how they just spaced out the games. I was like, all right, this is awesome. Not a great game. Boom. We got four more coming. We got four more. And then Toronto Montreal. I the excitement in Toronto was different. I did think about it after the show. And I was like, wow, this said they replaced Marner. No, I said that they his playmaking ability, not the sulkiness, not the pk, basically only playmaking playmaking, but not even that now. But Nieland, he starts that thing off with a snipe. And I actually thought Toronto, Toronto came up phenomenal and Montreal a little bit on their heels. That ended up getting switched up, but I was like, wow, Toronto looks better, like Toronto look good. And they looked good against the islanders. So it's like a lot more excitement there. I still can't believe Jim Hillers, the coach, like I think back to the LA days. And I don't know if you saw Daudy's comments about like how they're going to have so much more active of D being active. And we had to just stand on the blue line. Like it was almost like, wow, I kind of forgot Hillers, the coach there, but there's excitement there. He was assistant there to before. So maybe that like Toronto media and knowing the environment, like there weren't many other options available. But I mean, hey, one in one, I thought that they're second most impressive guy, other than Nieland or that Cowan guy. I wasn't around, man. He's a little, he's awesome. Oh, yeah, you know, you're not very big. I, we were looking beforehand. He's, he's six foot with three pairs of socks. You look smaller. You have three pairs of socks on your end of your fitness or fitness test in quote unquote. And he's a buck 80. So, but he play, he plays bigger than he is. And he's a winner. One of mem cup. I think he was MVP of the mem cup. I want to call the cup last year. He's got three points already. Just, he looks like one of those young kids that is just like, not, I don't want to say cocky, but like confident in his ability that he just like, Hey, you know, I got three points through two games. Like, I expect myself to do this. You know, I think he'll be good for a McKenna. McKenna has been okay the first two games, but that's obviously going to take some time. So I think having a guy like Cowan, if he can continue to play good, it's only going to help McKenna as well. It also helps a lot. There'd be a lot more discussion and talk about him as, as a 20 year old or 21. I don't know which 20. If McKenna wasn't there, like, that would be the young stud first round pick. And it just takes off this like weight a little bit in terms of like everyone looking at the one young stud for the maplies. Well, we have the first overall pick, and I can kind of the count's 21 G saying. So still like, it just makes it easier. There's just a little less pressure. Would it would it change his game? I have no idea, but did it change for you? I mean, you were fifth overall in a lot of expectations. Yeah, but I know, oh, it's, but I was, I mean, I was like seventh on that team in terms of like excitement and expectation. It's like, there was cross stall, malkin. I was put it this way on the, on the next generation poster. I was blurred out. I was like, the last guy with like a blurry face. But we, we kind of skipped I skipped, excuse me, the, the lead in the maplies. And that was the breaking news right after we recorded of what we talked about it when we were on, right? Because it was a possibility. And we were trying to guess as to who was going back the other way. And so we've got rumblings had begun. So we said, I, I've said for a long time, why didn't they want to trade knives so bad? He's been in the mix of all these rumors. He was traded to Montreal. It was too late. And it ends up being nine. And Marchenko goes back Toronto sent Nice Stephen Lorenz defense minute meal Andre and a second round picked the Columbus for Marchenko Miles Wood and goalie Elvis Merleicans. So I Do think and I think I saw Hazy on TSN say there has to be some Formula or stat that the Maple Leafs are looking at that says like Nice is not as good as people think and that may sound kind of like bad It doesn't it's it's more like if they are all about trading this guy and they're shopping around constantly There was something there after signing him that they just didn't necessarily buy into there's two GM's To like it wasn't just Chica trying to move off one that was tree two right? Yeah, yeah, you're right because yeah Exactly that was tree who had the deal done right and then it got it was too late with Montreal And then all of a sudden Chica comes in and he ends up doing it before the season He is a fucking unit and sometimes like I've talked about it before like I don't know what type of background he came from as far as like weightlifting and powerlifting Because some of these college programs where you go or maybe where he grew up there They really emphasize that where I believe that the body especially when you're a big figure like that tends to break down sooner rather than later So maybe that's the case were you interested in seeing the speed burst stat and how much faster Marchenko is when reaching top speeds and how Marchenko is not only skilled probably has a better shot But he's like in the 99th percentile of I believe that I We take it to the hoop like he's already done it a couple times in the two games that he's played He's not afraid to take a guy Wide and bring it to the net and and ties is that type of player too But yeah, I didn't realize how fast Marchenko was with the puck like he is flying when he has the puck on his stick Yeah, he had a noticeable moment in the Montreal game where he got it like down the wall and just went by somebody like I was like, oh, and the the fact is that the numbers he was putting up with players exactly Not nearly as good as the players he was playing with in Toronto and then knowing like now he's gonna be playing with Matthews and Tavares and Nieland are like I get it obviously right now. He is he is a much better player, but I hope nice does well. I mean, it's like I heard the phone call That Dawn Woodell gave him and he and he and he was just he kind of sounded a little shocked He's like yeah the night before the year there was also the video when they won the draft lottery I think he was at a Marley's game with Nielandar and you could tell how excited he was and I think it's difficult going from a place like Toronto to Columbus It's no shot. I mean, I think the fans in Columbus are better than the fans in Toronto, but the whole like hockey being everything and all of a sudden it it not being like the you're not in the biggest hockey market, right? It's just it's hard to deal with and he's probably just like figuring that out as he goes. It's surprising He's got to get there. He's got a game. Is that Yoshi Barkin? Frog outside my house of frog. Yeah, it's raining for the frogs. Come on. I swear to God Get out of here. I swear on my children. What kind of frogs? They got down the dog like a gator frog. I didn't hear it. They're Oh, I hear that thing. I hear it. I thought it was Yoshi Barkin at wit because of the stunk Um, I should just bark at him. People and some of them vinegar Yeah, like boiling vinegar. She ended up she called pet smart. She ended up Just rubbing um yogurt all over him and I was like, oh, I came home and it was just yogurt all over him Like she did like it had to sit in in his hair and his fur for hours and I just came back. He looked up at me Just yogurt everywhere. He'd obviously licked it up off the fur around his thing But he smells phenomenal now the house is back. The windows have been open for three days. But yeah, yeah I'm back boys. I'm back in business. No more skunk in this bill. The flyers got skunk. They're the skunks now Going back to nice just about the uh the trade like You know how it is in the offseason and then right before training camp You're so excited to get the season going you have the captain's practices then camp gets going You're like all right. I'm loving our team. I'm loving what we got going on right now And then boom it's taken from you and you're traded to a different like that's gotta be One of the toughest days to get traded because you know if you get traded at trade deadline You know what could be coming anyone could get traded but the day before the season opener like That's gotta be taught actually you that actually might be The worst time to get traded unless you're looking like last year. You're on your wedding day Like Jordan stall. Yeah I don't know all your teammates are at the wedding Yeah, that's true. That's a great idea. The motto there. Yeah But Marcheco on the other hand it's like yes This is unbelievable and it comes with an extension of six-year deal at 12 and a half a year He's like this is awesome. He there was a picture sent with him in his agent on a private jet to Toronto and his cat Like it was the smallest private jet I've ever seen. Did you see that picture? They're like I'm like, what is that? Is that all those gliders? You didn't even have an engine the Red Bull Um last thing on Toronto the first night um Bob Bob with rookie laps. Oh, I love this I love this I think the boys were like all right. I gotta go crush this rookie lap because his family there I think he had friends in town his mom and dad are on the glass great picture and and Bob's like yet Yet not happening Yeah, he's like fancy your number bitch and and there were some people like all those bullshit bad teammate He think he gives a fuck. I do the same thing every single and I think not teammates. I meant fans. Oh, oh Keith you said bobs Sickle on game days. Oh, yeah, just complete from the morning from the minute he gets there in the morning till game He's not one of those guys like you can't go up and talk to him or say anything But he is just everything he does has a reason has a you know if it's 405 He's at the same spot every time a 405 during the thing. So I mean I'm not a huge fan of the rookie lap anyways more so because I would have hated to do it Like it would have been so embarrassing like it just doing that. I think it's it's cool when guys do it But I can't imagine a kind of cares like Bob went on the ice and went right over to the right and like yeah at the end of the day It's just I don't think there was a thing when I was over it. No, I would I would love that I would really high step in Oh, dude, are you kidding me? You're out first game in the NHL. You're just flying around. It's still dark out music's pumping I know would I have taken a digger into the boards like when I took off Florian Columbus possibly But I would have just started stretching my going drawing at center. I was I wouldn't have done like I would have been I would have been nervous like stepping on a puck or something and start shouting a box and in the glass They're like Is that meek to meet McKinnon Um, but like so people in Toronto like obviously the initial response was that people were very upset I think that Matthew Nies was essentially like the golden retriever Like the guy who took the hometown discount like he'll get you 30 goals. He'll fight. He'll hit He's heavy on the forward check kind of like that That power forward. They've been waiting a long time to get and then all of a sudden you get him at a hometown Discount and then you just like give him up and you keep like Basically shopping him around like you don't want him. I think that there was a bit of confusion from the fan base um I Keep it my march and go away makes like just under four million this year So you're getting an absolute steel at a higher end talent than what Matthew Nies is I think we can agree that the ceiling from marchenko is higher than it is for nice and it's already there right Maybe Nies somehow finds another gear in Columbus with some peace and quiet over there But I think that you could agree that even when that deal kicks in if you can get that higher end talent in a guy who's maybe even a Untap even more potential playing on a top line with Matthews and um And whoever else they got him playing with I think it's worth the extra five million like to get a 40-goal guy And a guy who can drive as much of his own traffic as you've seen with marchenko I think that the that now after the dust settles. I think that leaves fans will eventually be happy about this I did not I saw more leaves fans were fired up Okay, I would say then based on what I saw then it's probably a fan base divided Okay, fan base divided Fair enough Okay, what did you what did you see answer? Did you not really no? I thought I thought the same as with fan base fan base divided just because nice has been there You know a heart and soul guy that I'm sure people loved him around the city and stuff like that Just the way he played and you know all you see of him being a good person outside of Outside of the rink, but I even just the I test the first two games like I think marchenko Like if you're not happy with him. I think you're crazy. And I mean there one year difference in age I think marchenko's a year older than him So it's not like you got like this 30 year old and getting rid of a 24 year old So I think it's a win-win for both. I think knives is gonna do great in Columbus I think you know a little less pressure coming from media and all that stuff He can kind of just go focus on his game and you know bones got some Bad game and bones got some but he's not that tight like your back hurt. He doesn't dog it every, you know Just got Lance. Well now your legs are gonna hurt because you just pulled yard duty Um Yeah, also I think I think another aspect of it that Toronto fans probably loved is that Montreal wanted this guy bad And then you get a little policy. That's you much Montreal had been all over Marchenko and there'd been all these different different rumors and then Toronto swoops and grabs him. It's like, you're not only getting an elite player, you're also beating out the Habs for him. So yeah, I'm interested to see how Nice does. I'm interested to see how Columbus does. Jesus, are they under a lot of pressure to start this thing off well? But another game, and speaking of Murr, we talked about Murr and Elio and Chase and Goals. Yeah, I mean, hey, they started off with Boston, New York. Chase. Oh, fuck, zero zero zero zero zero through about 54 minutes. A game play and I texted Mario. This is this is you might get one win in these nine games. You guys are doing ends up three nothing, but holy shit. Putterca that goal. And I felt bad for Schneider and Schneider, who I kind of always liked as a player, like Rangers fans. He is like public ending up one there. Oh my, he's been there whipping boy. And that was that was an all time dancing. That was an all time like don't watch the puck. And putterca brought that thing out and just brought it in and what a goal. And I think for Bruins fans to trade for him and then see that return on the first night. Like that's exciting. That's that's that's a big time goal. They didn't have like Paschinox. The only other guy in that team, I could see score in that goal. They added a guy like that. Well, I'm not gonna say like pasta, but I don't. He's not like dancing. Yeah, he's a shooter. He's a shooter. And even Datsuke, um, pressure man, pressure Datsuke, what a rocket. Like is that considered a weak goal by Shesterken? I don't think it's just that he's he's far of deception, but it's what a word. Also information and just a rocket to get that thing going. And then Castelick buries it to make it three nothing. So the Rangers look pathetic. Oh, another shut out another shut out, they didn't do it at home. Yeah, but they will tonight. So you know what this chasing goals reminds me of? It's, uh, you know when you go to the casino and you play, yeah, that. You know what you go to the casino and you play roulette. And then like you got a body who's like, we got, we, we got to surround 17 or 20. And like you put chips all around that, that those numbers like on the side. And like you kind of cover that whole area and then zero or double zero. If you're going to a chasing goals game, you have to sprinkle a little bit money on no goals in the first and then no goals in the second, you just have to just enough to cover the big bet. You have to go to a Rangers game, deck or that or the heads of Merle change in five minutes into the game. He had enough. Zero, five minutes into the game was like, I can't take this. These two teams zero, zero finish. Yeah, he bet. So this is the first night of chasing goals. They have nine trips across North America and five minutes in, Merbette, the game would be zero zero. They go into the goal series two best goalies in the NHL game one. That's a crazy decision. Yeah. Can you wait till the backups are in or something? Can you bet for the period? You can. Yeah, you can do under like, it's only I think it's one and a half goals per period. You can like, take the over the under, I think, but that's the play, not the full game. It's like the people go by period, step by step, maybe the play is to whenever you see those two with boots on the ground in a drink, you found the under and you call your financial advisor. If you have one and you say, unload the clip of everything I have on the under, Merle says there chasing goals, also, I rear was there, I can't forget that. We'll talk to rear. He's coming on. Yeah, it's right. The first day episode. He disappeared for a bit. Let's let him address that in a little bit when we get to R.A.'s world boys. Let the rear speak guys. Jesus Christ. He looked phenomenal too. What was I just going to, I had totally forgot that McAvoy baseball bat two handed Benson and got the six games suspension. Now I thought back, I'm like six games, dude, that's still in prison. It's 12 and play. No, but they'd already been eliminated, right? And that's why it was six. It wouldn't have been six had they had they still been in the playoffs because they usually say it's double, right? So they're bringing them out game seven with the same patty wagon that Yand showed up to trickle. It's cup. Oh, really? Yeah. Hannah Baleck through mask. Everything. Egg pipes. Yep. Yeah, but let McAvoy rest G saying right here, but I kind of forgot about that. So good win for the Bruins. Swaman. Man, that guy, he looked he looked comfortable. He, and now granted it's the Rangers. It's the Rangers, but he looked just so at ease in the crease. His angles are so good. Starts a season off with a shot. Oh, just a dream scenario for him to get it going. So the Bruins, they do their thing, pasta look great with the sea on those are the games that coaches love to, right? Like zero, zero. And then you find a way to score some goals at the end like nothing makes a coach more rocked up than a, yeah, nothing, nothing stingy defense of game and find a way to get a couple at the end. Like I'm sure, I'm sure Stern was fired up for that win. Oh, no doubt, no doubt. So the other, the other game that, that really kind of saved the first two nights, I would say is, is business, second game on TNT. Colorado LA. Oh, I think we're bearing the lead here. What? I think we're not fucking gold. We're not going past Edmonton Vancouver for one more fucking game here. We're going right to Vancouver, Edmonton, you fucking, I can admit, day one, I can't admit, when, when, when you get caught trying to sneak something by your buddies, you got to admit it. And I was trying to sneak by that, you went from, you went from Tuesday to Wednesday. Yeah. I was trying to sneak, sneak by that game boys. If you, I, I'm talking to Die Hard Oilers fans all across the world. If you can't laugh here in it, if you just can't laugh, you got no soul. Because let me tell you something, you could bring in Babcock. You could get Kwenville to leave Anaheim and come over. You could dig up to Blake and get him, is he alive still and get him behind the back? I hope. I hope so. Hey, for your sake, it doesn't matter, you're just, this is a crack hockey in Edmonton will be crack hockey in Edmonton forever and ever for Mike Papcock to go in there. And after the first game of the season, say that was ridiculous. I thought, I thought we'd get that was ridiculous in like game 10. It took us one game, one, one Tristan Jari game. And I'll say, she's saying that, that, that, that, uh, that, what, what was his name? Light sells stinks. Jari might stink. So should I say that? No, he's in the NHL. He might stink. He, how did Levi not start? I, I, now maybe it's like Babcock's coming in. It's a new season. We're going to give Jari a chance. We traded a bunch for the guy. He signed to this deal. It gets off the puck. I probably wanted to give him the easier game. You're playing Vancouver. He had a goal. You struggle over tonight as well. I know. Yeah. Yeah. I think I think I think if your Babs, you go right back to them. Just fucking, let's get the party started here. Let's get the party started. Do you think Babs, like when it's five, two is like, what did I get myself into here? Like this is, and it's like every fan's like, no, no, it's okay. This is us. This is the oilers. Black hockey. Just incredible. Like, I'll tell you the lekkamaki goal. It was on the ice five, Paul. If you're scoring on the ice five, Paul, no screen. It's like, I think it's an auto pull. It should be like, if you play NHL 27, the game makes it auto pull the goal. It was five full on the ice, no screen. Now I want to give, I want to give Paul Carter a show. Yeah. That guy. He's always. That new jersey let him go. Wasn't he with new jersey and then, and then originally, maybe with Vegas, and then he started Vegas. Yep. I think I like them in Jersey. Yeah. First thing I looked at though, I was like, what is he, what is he making? He's making like two six and he's a UFA, like that, he will be one of the top deadline acquisitions. Yeah. They'll be the key for key for sure would have last year. Oh, hold on. Let me get my lotion out. Hold on. Oh, that's business guy. Yeah. The oilers. Now ice, I keep it right away. You put Vancouver on the no watch list prior to this day, but no, it's in everyone's on the watch list. If you're playing Edmonton, because the craziest shit happens, and so, so now, now, here's, here's what I want to take away from that game. Evan Bouchard. That is how you just announce, like, I'm going to win an orange underpaid year. I'm going to win. And by the way, yeah, I've seen a lot of people. I had a great DM from a guy, a wild fan, by the way. Now, I don't know how this kind of, like, goes back to the wild. He basically was saying, when Quinn used ends up getting $20 million, wouldn't you rather have Evan Bouchard at 10 and a half? Yeah. Evan Bouchard. Buddy, that guy, this guy, hat trick to assist in the first game of the year, some of the goals kind of, he also could have had a beautiful assist to dry side of the game. Little sauce pass. He did a cross be tip that I think hit the crossbar. Yeah, that's the oilers boys. Can Babs fix them? I have no, I don't know if anyone can, as I said, it's just what they do. They fly around. they turn over pox. They're goalie can't stop the puck. And it's just rinse and repeat, rinse and repeat. At least they can still come back. Oh, that's the other thing. They always come back. If they're down to with with 10 minutes to go, it's an auto bet. It's an auto auto live bet. It's a double auto. You're just ham. They're going to tie it up and then chances are they lose an OT to another beautiful quarter goal. I mean, his first goal was a sniper. He looked like a 40 goal score coming down the wing. I think that was shorthanded after a six saved by Lankan and so I don't know, dry settles pass over to pod calls. And when they tied it was ridiculous. Just a no look cross size pod calls and it's awesome. But those are the passes that Babcock's taught like you can make those passes when you're down your chase in the game a little bit. But if you're doing that in the first period and it gets turned over, like those are the things that Babcock is going to have to get out of the game. I love that pass more than anybody in the world. But at sometimes it's going to get picked off and it's going to go the other way. No, no, no, that I think he's talking about like turnovers at the blue lines and actually, Mick, Mick David had a turnover at the blue line that led to a goal. Yeah. Yeah, the car. I've got stuck on the boards. I also saw Wayne Wayne Gretzky say he never sees Connor McDavid leaving Edmonton. So for all you two idiots, I'm staring at what he did get ice plants. You got wing. Can't really see much. Yeah, he didn't want to be on the Messier. No flies on it. The oilers tonight will will win like three nothing or it'll be an eight seven game and we don't know. Now Levi could be our could be our savior. No, they're going. Jari. Just talk to stuff. They go with Jari tonight, man. Then that's how you know, Bab loves the madness. He might just love the madness. I don't know. You want to church him? You want to church and go ahead? No, not buddy. It's not chirp him. It's just like the way the first game went and the presser went like you couldn't have scripted any better. It saved the first night of hockey like that was the that was the game. That was the marquee moment. The there was a lot of memes going around. There's a lot of AI videos. I mean, memes are memes is responsible for a few of them, but seeing Louie Erickson on the boards, but with Babs' face superimposed where Louie Erickson is. I don't know if you guys saw this one. That's the one that got me the most. Have you seen it? No, Louie Erickson, because he when he was playing with the connox and he was on the boards like the shoveled and then it's got Babs' disheveled face and it just like it was it was too good. A Vancouver connox fan posted it. So I mean, if you like you said with it, if you can't laugh at yourself, then you're you're disillusioned. You're a loser because that's what Vancouver had five high danger chances in that game. Six goals. Boys. Boys. I how many times do I have to tell you? It's mid-David's 12th year. They've never had a goalie. Now this year is different. Just shit. Lock. They get a Stanley Cup champ in Freddie Anderson. He gets hurt and then Babcock comes out. He's like, he's out till December. I'm like, what? And then I think it's a boys out two months. It's just it's always hockey boys. Mick David's got to get on the PJ fly to Vancouver, Winnipeg and get on his hands and knees and beg Connor hella buck to Anderson. They can't get hella buck now. I don't know. I put it this way, boys. I can't wait to watch the next one. But no, just the fact that we got a that was ridiculous after the first of 84 is that that chef's kiss. Let me ask you this. Who do you think will be the whipping boy in Edmonton outside of goal tenning? Look at that fucking photo. Tell me you didn't you wouldn't see that in laugh. That is that's fucking comedy, buddy. That's if you remember the original. Yes, Louie. This is like after the Dallas days and he ends up in Vancouver and he's got to end his fucking career there. And he has it. That is that's 10 to 10 right there. So good. Bravo. Hey, you know what? In a year that's probably going to be hell for Vancouver connox fans. That might have been their Super Bowl game one. So the round of applause, Vancouver connox right there. You won the first day of the Anderson, Patterson scores, which by the way, it was it was a great. I think it was was a heronic who gave him the shot pass for the tip. But the past that Patterson made right before it was sick. It was coming to him. And he like behind his back almost tipped it with the toe of his blade back to him and then got a little give and go. I just first the road power play goal since 25. I thought it was even longer. I thought I remember seeing that during the game. Yeah, first road, road power play goal in so long. And every time that Bush puts up a three point or more night, I'm just going to remind everyone probably my worst take of all time, saying that they overpaid him. I just got a heat. I got a heat that one and I'm boost. He is unreal. He is so sick with the puck and his skating is underrated. His edge works incredible. I don't know. He gets so much like speed without bending his knees. It's remarkable. His edges and I'll say bring up his pizzas all the time. I don't care. You're seeing me in the street. Say, how about that boost pizza last night? I when you have the puck that much and you're that creative, you're going to throw pizzas once in a while. But then you're going to get five points in the season, open and just be that that's like the first. That's the perfect game to start your run to the Norris trophy this year. So in terms of Babs is whipping boy on D and Mooka Madoulin didn't look great. That could be a guy who ends up catching to meet Andy's young who knows. I thought Ryan Shay looked really good, though. So I'm fine. We're fine. It was the connox. They have a wagon this year. What do you do? We had 37 shots on goal. Give up five high danger chances. They all went in. Um, now we'd like to, I'd like to, I'd like to go to Colorado. Oh, where the dog came out like like a true sicko. You heard the power play comments in the off season. Yeah. Yeah. They had to. They, they had to. I also saw that that McCarr had two points. He has two points in the season, open or five years in a row now. The, the, the, when I tell you as an, as a, as a former player to get a point the first game of the year, it's just like, it is the biggest weight off your chest. It's like I imagine. I got it. Yeah. Bizz. I'm taught for you. It's like you get your first shift in the season. Game 14. I got a chef. Yes. To have the first perfect mix for the, the playlist before the game. Yes. I did it this year, boys, but McCarr is just a joke. But McKinnon, it was the first period. He was flying around, cutting in like, I guess we're so accustomed to seeing it. But when you don't see it for so long, all summer, you're like, whoa, that's the dog. That's the dog. He was barking. I actually, there were moments where I thought L.A. looked pretty good. Um, yeah. But it's, it's the, it's the McKinnon show. So Brent Clark, who I didn't really know, uh, he kind of gets under people skin. I guess there was moments last year in the playoffs series. They were, they were, they were furious at him. And the dog just took, he decided to take it all into his own hands. And he dropped, I, Clark had no desire, by the way, to have that fight. I don't think. First, the dog two handed him. And then he shaken his gloves. I mean, and Clark's kind of waving his stick at his stick. And then the dog dropped the gloves. He's like, Muhammad, Muhammad, all dog there, f*ck him, just bobbing and weave it on the way. When he was bobbing and we even, I was losing it, dude. He looked like a ninth, like a 1870s boxer. Like, you're going to get it. And he came in there. He was, was that all, I mean, you said stuff happened last year, but he's the one who took out Macara behind the net, right? Which was, it wasn't like a malicious player. No, it was like, was it anything Nate had that look in his eye from the beginning of the game where, you know, sometimes during the season where if he doesn't get a pointer or the team struggling, that next game, he's got that snarl. Like, he had that game won. Like, the guys in LA must have been like, oh, shit, this guy's ready to bark. Oh, no. I mean, this interview to laughter, he interviewed him after, he had two goals dominated the game, had a fight. And he, he looked like they just lost. I mean, this is trying to get a smile out of him. I saw teeth. You did. Yeah, I think we got some teeth. Yeah. And then, and then he's like, why tie? What is it? No, why tie? Like in blood sport, remember when they used to put the glass, they, they used to wrap their, their hands and their, their, their memory, remember when they walked in and the guy was practicing by kicking the, the, the piece of metal, the metal on, I was holding up the, the, the, whatever, the ceiling. That's what they remind me of, like, how, how ready he was to go into that game in that fight. He said that, he said that Brent Clark said a word that he didn't like. Can we guess the word? Yeah. I'm going to assume that all the word, all the, diet Pepsi, fuck with cigarette. I think he said pussy. You think he called him a pussy? I think he called him a pussy. And, yeah, I mean, most words that, that, like, you might think of him in terms of really pissing the guy off. Probably, we probably can't say. No, I think he called him a pussy. And that's where yeah, pussy. And then fucking shimmy shirt them and dropped them. I said it in the, it looked like an older brother finally got the permission from his parents to beat up his younger brother. And he was just like, Oh, now you're going to fucking get it, buddy. And he, like good for Brent Clark for showing up and fighting him, but, but like, because you can't say no to him, right? If Nathan, Nathan McKinnon, like, you have to fight him. He's not, he's not a tough guy. You want him off the ice. I'll say this about about Clark. I've always kind of liked watching very skilled moves around well. Like, He seems like one of the I need I want to hang out with him. He was on with the powers boys on the empty netters And this clip just popped up on my algorithm cheat you have the clip that this kid's laugh guy This guy comes to taps up my brother on the shoulder. He's like like hey, like I know it's his party, but like he's got a Love him, what a guy I got kicked out of my own trap party, and then I brought up And you guys in your in your tear down of the central division in your carving of many Dallas and Colorado Just giving it to Brock Nelson. Old Yeller ain't going down yet, boys, no, no, Brock Nelson a beauty by the way that pass over to him Who sent that short boy shorts shortsie a little dog was that pick up was that too Nelson? I think it was too. They showed the like the camera hole angle from the corner and it was like a high saucer I mean, yeah, it looked like it. He had two primaries like absolute dog in front of the net on the one goal that Who got it? Was it what? Was it Nick wow got the goal maybe or maybe one on the ice he was just like he was just fighting away battling in front in the blue paint He's a little honey badger. That's a great pick up and I'll tell you that the EBS line their early bird special line second line They were fucking buzz around me. It's cool. Army army said they showed fucking They saw Nelson the bench packing his musket like and ready to stipe another one just old school, baby That's Parker Kelly. He asked that Parker Kelly. He flies around Looking off Makar like you better score on that two on one if you're looking Makar off you have to score I forced so now did I get a lot of two on one? No, but I'm talking like growing like I forced passes to good play. Oh, I would wear a POP That's what I were done. You would have gone Miss the net start the other teams break out two on one against Minus back to the bench, but at least you got a chef. So you're right. It wasn't you're right. It wasn't Payton else in that game Two shorties L.A. Yeah, that's true Trevor more with a nice shortie leckin and gets two goals. I mean, yeah, you guys call it out It was a wagon. Yeah, they're wagon absolute wagon. Oh tough news talking about the central man We had Billy G on I said and I knew favor head, you know something was going on He'd miss Prax. I will be ready to go and if you guys had it ripped his team to shreds He might have broke the news with us the guy had to have surgery He got a fractured skull crazy scary and what's nuts is the clip came out It wasn't even a slap shot. It was just hit him in the pit him in the head He goes down gets his alter shovel actually finished the period I believe in the exhibition game And then that news breaks with no timetable for his return an absolute kick in the dick for wild fans and pretty scary Dude, you're getting surgery on a fractured skull like I don't know when he'll be back But that was shocking to hear because Billy G I think when I asked him is like, yeah, we'll address that tomorrow Like these prex I would have told them the new now, but they fuck it say my team. I feel even worse now about being down Of the central especially many saying they're gonna miss playoff fuck. I feel like an asshole is there any like I know Billy Gee, he said all the right things like it doesn't matter about when he's gonna come back I'm just worried about the human that's just cuz the type of guy Billy is but is has anyone ever came back? Is there any idea what the timetable for this is like if you told me a like a month or seven months? I wouldn't know my guess would be two two three months. I don't know but but boys That's a guy guessing who had a skunk a skunk dog running around his house who you know I haven't graduated college yet like I thought I thought McDonough had suffered something like that. No, zooped did zooped did he got hit in the head He got hit in the head with a pocket. I think it was during playoffs and he knows like three languages He couldn't speak any of them. It was it was the most it was the scariest thing. I've ever been a part of it It was awful and but I don't I don't know if he like fractured his skull and had to get like a surgery But how about Brock Faber trying to it wasn't army saying that he tried to come back in the game in the third he played He played he said well. He finished the second. Yeah, I know and then I I don't know if he had tried coming back in what a savage The other the other thing we kind of forgot from opening night was Vegas looked really good Chicago did not look good, but no that goal by Kane was dirty Dirt Patrick Kane back in the Hawks uniform. Just like weights out the goalie awesome goal there But I could have three points. They look phenomenal Olipson who Liam Blutman's calling Golipson very original there We got you got a new guy. Yeah, he's got a new guy. It's score of VF now. He's got Golipson He had a nice one Vegas looked good though 37 shots and and made easy work of the black Hawks So after that boys, there's there's nothing else stick out to you Yeah, I mean, you know, we often sometimes get texts from Gary Lawless and He has been raving about this Trevor Connelly kid. He's saying he's gonna be a superstar. Why are you smirking like that? I'm smirking because I've heard about this kid for a long time and that he's disgusting and And he lit he lit up the AHL last year. He was awesome He I think play did he play called chalky for one year play but Gary sent to me like 3 a.m. Text I know I got like he's fucking Drake and I'm a side piece or something Tell me about Trevor Connelly in this kid. I followed him on Instagram. That's how fucking Gary's got me on the I'm trying to Hey Man Gary said I need to talk to you may But as he he was 19 years old last year 19 turning 20 and at over a point per game in the AHL 49 points at 46 games That's usually a pretty good sign that you have a when you have a young kid who's producing like that at the AHL It often translates. Yeah, and now he's getting the chance and what's crazy is he was actually drafted by them He's like they have one guy who they like drafted. Where do you think he's getting traded? He's gonna be gone in a week. He must be good if they haven't traded them Yeah, I know hidden gem. Yeah, that he scored a nice one and Gary got Yeah, I got the late night booty booty call text from Gary about his new favorite prospect on the on the Golden Knights So watch out for Trevor Connelly. I guess for all those fantasy people out there. It could be a sleeper for you Yeah, we're doing fantasy talk now and by that big of a loser. We did get another mush tech stuff from murals thinking that easy point Coming for TJ Hughes with Colorado because you have a first unit power play tough first game No points dash three in an eight four win. That's not good. That's not good. No, that's when you're sitting around after you Yeah, great win boys, then you're just like in your head. You're like, how was I just dash three although nowadays? You just tell yourself nobody cares about plus minus That's what you have to tell yourself that yeah, all these analytics as posh Plus minus doesn't mean anything anymore. You see Connelly's a hockey DB photo. It's amazing. No, we pull it up. Oh, that is hardcore Get the muzzies get the cuts in the black eye and the stitches. Yeah, the V for vendetta stash going Would you say this is the biggest game for the Devils and the Pasha podcast era? You have to get the season started right now. Yeah, yeah, you do the flyers just go work through that doesn't help the devil They're coming in angry talks going glasses off. They're busing their 1030 today. They're bus busing same day of the game. They got the bus legs But that's really let's get them to go for a walk get it and happen I do think I forgot to mention this. I think that Jack Hughes is gonna be top three in the heart trophy at the end of the year I think we are about about ready to watch an explosion from him And just domination. I think that I think I think it's a good team and I think they're a good club And I think he's gonna reach another level the poor rangers. They're going home to play Tampa So they're going home to see Kutura walking in Braden point who I don't think we mentioned apparently stayed around all summer And was on the ice with Kutra all summer So after an off year last year watch out for Braden point this season. That's a big one back into the ranger score at home tonight this I'm giving them one they have a they have a tough little start to the Year they're playing in a back to back. So then they go to Detroit on Friday and then I think they play Sunday at home So they're playing four games in the first six days of the season. Do they score against Tampa? Yes, but I think they lose five two Got home in the home opener Some may say the game of the night now people will be listening to tomorrow. Maybe it's up tonight the game of the night Is Florida at San Jose But I say no, no, no, no, hold your horses We got Seattle at Calgary. Oh, we got Seattle at Calgary That's a radio game keep that on the radio 7 p.m. Calgary time the crack in our town boys Okay. Um, actually, I would, uh, that, all you're talking about Thursday slate. If I'm looking at, I'm looking ahead to Friday. Oh, yeah, yeah. I want to see capitals, hurricanes. I'm really interested to see what the capitals can do. They're, they're my top three teams in the East right now. Um, I don't know. Maybe I'm getting some false information. And then, uh, the other one too, blues at stars. Let's see what these pesky blues can do in Dallas. Yeah, you're high on them this year. I like. Are you working Friday night? I'm working Friday. I'm actually doing the, the Detroit, um, game, their home opener against the, uh, New York Rangers. And then the second game is St. Louis at Dallas. So I'm excited. We got to, like, fuck dude, like, let's, like, kind of like Vancouver, like Detroit with all this noise and all these people chirping at them. Like they, they should come in with a fucking, you know, us against the world mentality. And I mean, a very winnable game against the York to get things going. Well, the Wings fans, man, seeing Ed Vinson skating back in Sweden, like, they're down in the dumps right now. So they, they need to, what's the, I, I have no idea what's going on there. I don't know. I think they want, like, they want to do a bridge deal. I don't know. I've read all these different things aren't bridge deals done. I don't know. I asked March. I just figured now you, you get, you get, you get seven times nine if you, if you can skate. So, right. I don't know. I don't know what's going on there, but the clip came out of him skating back in Sweden and Wings fans, just muttering to themselves, just muttering away, like, what has happened? Larkin's injured. We'll see. Now, Biz, what do we have here for Bruins at Jets Friday and the ducks at the Golden Knights? That should be it. That should be a golden right there. Shabbat was named captain for the Ottawa Senators. So they saw Marchions. Marchions, uh, common on the rumors of Stutzel. And they said, no, no, Thomas Shabbat will be our guy. Well, I'm sure they'll start a podcast too with who Marie Cider. No shit. Oh, yeah, German one. Wow. Everybody's got a pod now. They can just carve everyone. He's close to podcasts pretty soon with all these players, certain pods. You know that, right? Oh, yeah. Uh, but it was cool because I think his wife and his new baby came in and announced it to the team. He's probably the longest tenured Ottawa Senator, right? For sure. Yeah. It's been there since 16 lot of new captains in the league this year. Bednar got an extension, boys, four year extension. They announced that makes makes. Yeah. Well deserved. How come they never say how much the coaches make? I don't know. That's a good question. I don't have to. Five? I was just say four and a half, five. Yeah. He deserves it. What they they, I could what in bad times six. I don't know. I don't know what the clock got, but opening night, that was ridiculous. That's something I'll never forget. That's an all-time or opening night, lose six, five to the Vancouver Canucks. With the work vest with the work, but the work best was one of the all-time coolest giveaways to fan of the season. Someone wrote me this is very, very mean. Like, oh, this is how they, they're keeping you alive in the, in the lower of the Edmonton oil, there's they're giving out orange vest that resembled you as a pile on when you played here. I said, thanks a lot, buddy. It's not very nice, but very funny. Trying to get off the year on a good start here. That was ridiculous. Before we send my keen or keen, excuse me, not the coach, not the former coach, my keen. I apologize. We'd be very fitting if it was him, though, after we just talked about babs. No, we got to talk about this, this story in Arizona State. Oh, yeah. And we haven't chatted about it in a while. Yeah. So just heartbreaking news. Matthew Mayich, who came over this year to Arizona State, he, they were, they were doing a workout. Now, this is just ridiculous to me. They were doing a workout with, I believe, a former green berets, a sergeant. It was probably a hundred degrees outside. I'm guessing, right? And he, he ends up having heat stroke, right? Apparently, from everything I've heard, the, the protocols were not followed where you have to get immediately into a cold tub, get inside, and he's laying there for what the players said was, was, was a, was a long time. I did not understand how the head coach, Greg Powers had not been put on leave, like right after this happened, it was like, whoa, what's going on? Like the coaches in charge of hiring this, this form of marine or green beret to do this workout, which seems so unnecessary. It makes no sense to me. I think something similar had happened at, with Tufts La Crosse a few years ago, where a kid passed away. It's heartbreaking. You're trying to get ready for the season. You're doing this. What is the point of that? I don't, I don't get it at all. And I was wondering, what's going on here? Like, how is this guy still the coach? And I guess seven players wrote a letter anonymously, basically saying, like, this is ridiculous. Like this guy cannot be behind the bench right now. So he's been put on administrative leave. Does, does, does that help the family at all know? But I think it makes sense to everyone who's reading this story. Like this guy can't keep coaching this team, and it's so, so sad. You saw the Toronto Maple Leafs went out to Scottsdale before their season. They made some t-shirts and hats. I believe they visited the Mayhatch family. And it just pisses me off. Like it's so unnecessary to do that. And then to find out in the letter written by the players that the coach had said to the team after. First off, they were skating the next day. And he said after we're closer to reaching the frozen for now, then we were yesterday. It's like what? He also said that Mayhatch was fine. It was just a little heatstroke. And he had seen this a million times, just so unactical, morally wrong of him to do that. Yeah, it's, it's fucking crazy. Like I, I, I, I feel sick for it for these parents. I, I, I don't know, I don't know what they were thinking. I don't know how you don't have everything in place to have everything ready. And I don't know what the school is doing. Because what was this three, four weeks ago, G? Yeah. And like, there's a protocol where when you get to, to ASU, I think it's through the whole athletic program. Like when you get there, you, I don't think you're allowed to have outside workouts for the first two weeks to get acclimated to the climate. Like it's, it's that bad. Like I live there full time guys. And like sometimes you'll go on hikes with friends who aren't used to it. And you're, we're not talking about a, a workout with a green beret. We're talking about just a normal hike. And halfway through, they'll be, they'll be like, yo, like we can't, like, we got to turn back. Like that's just how it is and how the heat hits you. And, and once it gets to you, you kind of have that feeling of like, you know, suffocation where you can't really breathe. And like mind you, like there was, went, went, went, and then when after the two week period is over, you're still supposed to have a cold tub present. You're supposed to have cold water ready just in case. And like, it's just like not something that's necessary, especially at the fact that we play a sport indoors where it's basically like air conditioning. So. And that's not act like ASU doesn't have all the facilities in the world. They have, yeah, they have the domes. They have everything you need for this. So, yeah, it took a while for us to really like chime in and comment on this because you're waiting for all the details to come out. And obviously once like the, the players have now spoken up, it's pretty like disheartening to hear how it all went down. And, and just something that was negligent and could have like easily been avoided. And, uh, it's just, like, this is horrible. It's horrible. And, and, and I had somebody to reach out to me. Like, you guys got to talk about this. We knew we'd wait a little bit. And I was waiting for the coach to be like, like, what's going on? And then apparently the players also said there was a lie in which they, the, the, I don't know if it was the coach or someone said, no, they had water. They had water. And the players in the letter were like, no, we were doing a bear crawl. We were doing a bear crawl. And the guys who finished first were able to go get like a sip of water. And Mayach had been like in the back, right? And by the time he finished, they're like back in line, back in line, back in line. So it's like, there was lying going on. And it's just so unnecessary. Like you said, Bizz, and it's just, you know, my heart goes out to that family. It's fucking horrible. Wait, you mentioned about like, why was power still coaching? It's actually a really interesting situation of how he was able to continue to keep coaching because Arizona state has this thing called now. It's named after him, the Greg Powers endowment coaching fund where basically donors are paying Greg Powers salary. So basically the school was kind of in a bind where like they couldn't really fire him. And I think that's why he's technically unpaid administrative leave. They're still paying him throughout the five years of his contract because of this Greg Powers endowment fund, which I think you're going to start to see a lot more across college hockey over the next few years, just so these coaches can get paid a little more. But I mean, how he handled this situation, it's so wrong. And it's so, so terrible. I just, it's, it's horrible. It's, it's really horrible situation. And our thoughts and prayers go up to the mage family because like, I think the players too, I think the players got really wrong here because they're about to go into a season. They've worked their whole life to go play division one hockey. And now their friend, their brother, their teammate, they lose them right before the season and their coach just acts like nothing's wrong. And it's, it's all right, go out there and play where closer or frozen for now. It's horrible. And I thought it was a really, it was great that the team suggested Shane don't come in as the coach. Would he do that? He said no one's reached out to him. Yeah, I, I don't know how he's incredible. It's also too like as a parent, like when you're dropping your kid off, especially to play in a college sport, like, you're leaving your child in this person's hands, like they come in recruit, we were all recruited. And they're like, we're going to take care of your kid. Like he's family. Like that's not what you do to a family member. So, I don't know, I don't know. So for anyone who's out there coaching and you want to be hard on the kids and tough in them up, it's not the play to do something that's not ethically right. You got to look out for these kids like they're your own, whether you're coaching Peewee Hawkey, Mike Hawkey, or in the NHL, you really, you got to know when to stop and when to push them. You trained with Mike Boyle for years and I thought he tweeted out in Oracle that I think he wrote a few years ago and it's the title is military workouts for people in the military. They're not for hockey players, hockey players should do hockey workouts. Yeah, let alone when it's 115 degrees out. So yeah, heartbreaking story, you know, thinking of their of Matthew's family and the players on the team who I think get going this weekend at Lindenwood. So we'll see what happens there, but just a brutal story. So with that, we're going to throw it over to Mike Keen, Stanley Cup champion, multiple times over with all these different teams. A great interview was sat down with him a while back, so right now, Mike Keen. Welcome now, very special guest, a guy who's calling us out for thinking that we're reaching out to him after our last minute cancellation biz. But three Stanley cups with three different teams, over 1,100 games in the NHL and then decides to play five more full seasons in the minors, Mike Kean. What's going on? How are you, Kean? Thanks for having me. A couple of clicks for three cups here. I think one of only 11 players to win three different cups with three different teams. I think it's eight. I'm seeing eight. We've got eight different numbers there. Maybe you know the exact answer. And those seven guys canceled on us today. That's why we had you. I'm not kidding. Like I said, like it's three in the morning, the lights just came on and I'm the last one at the bar and that's, that is the something, something happened between Friday and now. Speaking of that, has that happened in your career? Is that, was that also a career achievement? I have seen that happen, this. Okay. I have seen that happen. I've played the fifth, just like Fauci, just, I played the fifth, it's 111 today of yours. I played the fifth. It's a nice interview. See you later, Mike. Fuck, I hate these things. When I first asked you, it seemed like you weren't necessarily down where you're like, ah, I'm not really the interview type and clearly you're not type of guy to talk about yourself, but we appreciate you coming on, man, incredible career. So many games play. We're looking to the coaches that you played for, like so many iconic guys to, and we can't, we can't wait to dive into it, but I guess I'll start out with this. What are you doing now? Are you still back home in Winnipeg? I'm back in Winnipeg. I still do player development for the Winnipeg Jets and, and you know, just live in, live in the summer. It goes by fast, obviously. There's always something going on with, with hockey, as you guys know. So one more month and then we're getting going again. So you're going like rookie camp. You're seeing the prospects that they have all year long. Are you traveling to see those guys? Yeah, seeing the guys going on the ice to the mousse, because they're back in Manitoba. So it's, it's best of all the world, you know, if the kids are great kids, the, you know, they all want to learn. And then you get to be the one more spicy with the pro guys. So I love it. You know, my, my boss, Jimmy Roy, who's, who's, uh, had a player development, a great guy, one of my best friends, um, he, he cares about the kids and we're, we're, we love to see every kid make it to the, to the NHL. Uh, for you, I mean, you've been in the NHL obviously now working since 1988. Like, are you telling these kids like, hey, listen, I've seen it all done it all. You better fucking listen up here. Some of them don't know who I am, and it's, and it's awesome. Um, you know, it's, it's, the game evolves every year and it's, uh, it, I don't know how it's pointed. There, it's not so much what hockey is about today, young person, you have to find a balance with, with today's young person where there's a difference from what we were. So so it's, it's, um, it's not so much about hockey. It's about when they're healthy scratch for the first time in four years from other college, junior, you know, where it is. Let's go for a coffee through things out and then get back on track. So, um, it's, it's something we never had. Um, you know, I'm, I'm sure, you know, we, we got the old, uh, your plan shitty figured out, uh, you know, play better, um, it's just, we, we want to make sure the kids, you know, know that we were support them and we'll do everything we can to make them, you know, make the big club. So you just, like, eat, breathe and sleep hockey. Was there a period of time though after you were done and you retired where you, you needed like a few years off where you're like, I just need to decompress because like Whit said, you played 1100 games and then you went on and I actually played against you when you played with the Manitoba Moose in those five last years. So it seems like you couldn't give it, get enough of it as a player. Was there a time where you needed to step away a little bit? Yeah. I took two years off and that was the best thing guys said, you know, take, take a couple years off, relax. And I don't know what I did all day, but I came home exhausted and but the one thing I did miss, you know, was the game and it's not, it's not coaching, coaching as you guys know too is a whole different level. Like that, that's a, that's a serious religion, they just, they live it, they live everything about it. They're at the rank from 80m till till 5pm reinventing the game. Our job is no more different where we go see our kids, spend time with them, make sure things are good off the ice and then once they do turn pro, pushing them in the right direction to make sure that they, there's only four spots for a team, you know, it's a team sport, you have to make sure that you're doing everything to beat out of that true player and that's not an easy thing to do. So you grew up in Winnipeg, correct? God's country. Absolutely. Okay. All right. Yeah. Men from Winnipeg, they love it. Revos from Winnipeg, right? He's always rantin' and raven about it. But we could talk about your career and your cups. But when I played against you, as Biz mentioned, you're in Manitoba, when you went there, were you like, oh, maybe one more year, were you still like, I'm going as long as I can? Like this is not going to be, hey, one year in the minors and I'm done. You know, the game was, we got locked out during the, was it '04, I guess? The final thing is that one year, I couldn't play because every veteran was full of member back in the day. They were only signed, but you know, five six veterans, I think one exemplar, I believe. So I actually had escaped by myself for the whole year and then the following year came back and played. So it was, it was by far hands down, I was lucky enough to play a little bit in the NHL, but hands down, those five years was the funnest time playing hockey. Really? No way. It was just amazing. Like my kids get to watch me play. My folks were still around to watching my, my family, my, my buddies came to watch me play. They used to give me shit, text me in the periods going, "Fuck in, nice pass." Well, like all the time, I know it was, it was by far, met some great kids. But it was, it was a great time. And we got treated as a NHL team because they, they were vined for their team. So we got treated like an NHL team, we, we charted, which was unheard of back in the day for a, a NHL team. And they just treated us great. So it was hands down the funnest time. Some of the best NHL jerseys of all time, too, those that big moose head on the jersey. And you guys, you got, I think it was Zenit Kanoffka who told the one story about when Pierre Sejick-Lavry was kind of melted off that when they had like four or five heavyweights on their team. And then Kanoffka and those guys brought out the news. Do you remember that game specifically? - Like legit at the line. Like I mean so much over the line where I was kind of getting edgy where you just don't cross the line. You like don't cross the red line. Like do not come over the red line. And he's so close to it's like holy shit. Like he's and then he brings it out. I'm like, what the hell's going on? Like what is happening? And then I think, oh my God, is that for PC? And then obviously PC was a nice kid, but he was a French kid, didn't understand what was going on. And so after the game had explained to him, he thought that was a fine saying in the world. - Yeah, for him. - Yeah, we're thinking, okay, we're gonna get absolute forcehead, bring him by these guys. So it's like, but he just loved it. So it's, he was a good player. It's not good. He was a tough, he was a tough, hard-knosed player. - Do you remember what he said specifically in the paper that got them going? - No, it was something where he was young. He did, we just, other signed him, you know, called him up. He said, I don't care, I'll fight anyone. And I guess he didn't read the room very well because like I said, they had four absolute mutants on that team. And it's like, we're just kind of thinking, okay, it's, we don't match up for that. Like, shut up, like in French and English. Just don't, don't say anything. - But now it was, it was a, it was a fun time. We had some good, you know, some good basketballs against Syracuse. - I'm looking at those, man, at Toba team. So our Neil was the coach there. And you had Lavie left for a year, so he went to Vancouver from Manitoba or Vignol, Vignol, Vignol, sorry, excuse me. - Yes. - Wow. - Yeah, we had Vignol from there. So we had, we had, you know, really good coaches. We had, we had really good teams, really good players, really good American league players. But just, you know, we, we lost to Hershey. I'd live in the finals one year. I don't know how we won a game because they were so good. They had Carlson, they had Newworth as a goalie. They were, they had that, that Drew, I think he scored 70 goals. - Oh, yeah, he was a joke. - He was a team, right? - Keith, the coin, Borg. - Yeah. - I think, I think green with Matt Green was, or Mike Green was on that team too. - Yeah, like, I don't know how we won a game. - So it's, it's, we were, we were kind of, you know, put up a good battle, but it was, well, you know, we had a good team and some, some, some great coaches. - That, that Manitoba bar and must have been rockin' when you guys were in the finals then. - It was great. It was, you know, Winnipeg's very passionate. You know, you only said this was back then when they were, still vying for their NHL team to come back. So, you know, they, they want to prove that they're out. - A big league city. - Did they open up the upper ball? 'Cause I think when, I played there, yeah, 'cause they would close the upper ball to kind of compact the bottom, but that's awesome. That they had that many people, what, 15,000 rockin' the building during that, that cup run for you guys. Now, it says Winnipeg Manitoba, like, were you born in the city, or were you maybe on the outskirts somewhere? 'Cause sometimes people live in the Boondocks and they just say Winnipeg. - No, born and raised in Winnipeg. And it's, fuck, like, it's, I got so much shit from Jason Holley when I did there. It's like, I just, would you guys just shut up? It's, it's like, Winnipeg is, Winnipeg's my home. I can bad mouth it. All, all you guys can't. - Yeah. - Fuck off. - Okay. - It's like, I love Canada, I'll, I like, I went there for that pink Whitney tour. I think I ended up bumpin' into you when I was there. - I bumped into you there. - So you were doing the, the Western tour, you're stopping every town I think years ago and-- - He was butt chuggin' pink Whitney in a bar in Winnipeg. - It was Dale Morningstar, my, my cold pilot. And then we had Rick from Red Deer was the driver. - Oh my god. - Remember Rick? Didn't you get into an accident or something? - Pulled over. - Not on that, oh, no, I think we lost our bumper, but that was, I think somebody stole it in Manitoba. They, good for resale, I guess, out there. - Of course, Manitoba. - Okay, maybe it was Regina. - Maybe it was Regina. - It was Sask. - Obviously, when you grow up in Winnipeg, you probably automatically play hockey. Was your father a player like who really got you into it and what made you fall in love with it? - Not my dad, my brother, my older brother played, not at a high level, but played a really hard game. And that's why I got my game from, I guess. And growing up, I was a, I believe it not, a Boston Brewin fan. So I was, I was a Tura Riley, Bobby Sumatra, you know, that type of era. - Well, you'd only see them when they were hockey in Canada, maybe, or that only be two Canadian teams then. - Montreal Boston, Montreal Chicago, Toronto, you know, New York, wherever it was, but no, our whole family was Yankee fans and Bruins fans. So that's, that's the team family. I know, sorry, fellas, it's things a little bit, I know. But it's, it was, it was awesome. - Even for you, obviously, not being drafted, like, and you mentioned your hard-nosed type of play, do you think that's what kind of help you get your leg up in the NHL and sticking, just playing that hard-nosed game? As a, I mean, you were somewhat undersized at that era, right? - For sure, like, I wasn't, I wasn't a skater. And I've, I've thought about this for years, really, like, why, why did I make it? Like, with so many other good players out there that did the right things. I don't know why, but I knew, I knew them. I was not a very good skater. I guess checkboxes for not playing. I wasn't a good skater. I was little. I didn't have a lot of offensive touch, but I wanted to play hard. So that's how I knew I would hopefully be people over jobs. And it turned out that I was lucky enough to hook up with Pat Burns, my first year pro in Sherbrook. And you know, I had an understanding where my, my father was a warden also. So I understood what, what people expect when you're the boss. So it's, Pat was a police officer. So when your boss is telling you to do something, you do it. Period. So so when he says, listen, you're not gonna play if you don't work, if you don't do A, B and C and do it very well. So myself and a few other players really, really concentrate and play it a lot because we listen to the coaches' staff. So it kind of worked out where it's really not rocket science. I don't know why kids don't figure out. Sometimes where they get pissed off when your coach tells you to do something and they don't do it. I don't know why they're shocked. But it's, it's something where we've, you know, I've, I've, adapt where your, your coach gives you ice time. Your coach is the one gonna help you to go up and your coach is the one that has a chance for us to win games. So it worked out with that philosophy. - Was Bernsey a player's coach? 'Cause I mean, back then the coaches were a lot harder than they are now. But everyone I talk to, especially Ray Bork, like, raves about Bernsey just how good of a guy he was. - He was, he was an outstanding person really. Search of art and Pat Berns were the two people that, you know, that changed our life professionally. They gave me a chance to play. I got a try out with, you know, with Montreal. And then, and then signed a contract after that camp. And then really, you know, believed in me as a player. So I don't know, again, I don't know why it happened. I don't know why because I said, I got four or five buddies that were way better players. They did everything right. They were good people, good teammates, card workers, great skill, and didn't play. And I don't know why that is, but it's just the hockey gods were shining down on me, I guess. - You got to play a junior and the dub in Moustra. Like, we talk about some of these iconic names. Theo Flurry was there as well. What was it like playing with a young Theo Flurry? - He was, he was, like, he was a, I don't know, I don't wanna start the, you know, a shit show right now, but the two people that aren't in the Hall of Fame right now are Theo Flurry and Paverbeek in my opinion. But like, I don't know how they're not in the Hall of Fame right now, especially being undersized. You players playing in an era where it was, it was hard. And these guys have unbelievable stats. Like one, they let their team. So, Theo is an unbelievable kid. And it's the only time where he was at Dick and just got beat up by me. And our line was Kelly Buckberger, Theo and myself. So it was, it was in Moustra and each leg in Saskatoon. Saskatoon had a bunch of mutants too. Like, they were just stupid. They had young Wendell back there and who was, you know, Biz, you could answer this too. It's, you'll, you'll fight anyone, but if you don't have to, it's okay, right, right, right, you'll, it's, and Wendell was the guy where you would fight, but you really didn't want to if you didn't have to. So Theo stuck Wendell one night and Wendell lost it. Refs couldn't get him, three refs are on there. He is throwing them around the grad doll. He's better. So me and Bucky, basically on the ice paper rocks, they're just, okay, who's gonna fight him? Well, like it's basically, get more. And he's like, no, Jesus. So finally, the refs get on him. He, he gets thrown out period ends. I have to hold Bucky back from beating up Theo in the dressing room from saying, don't you ever do that again. Don't you ever don't wake the sleep and drag and ever. Look like do, do not ever, I don't care, like who else, but not him. And that's the only time where like Theo kind of got out of control, but that long wind of story, but no, we love, that's what we want. No, that's what we love. We love more of those, we'd appreciate. Keith, Keith and Keith and I were just playing golf and we were with Ray Whitney in a group and we were talking. He, Theo Flurry came up and he was saying how much of a joke it is. He's not in the hall of fame. He's like, I know myself and every other undersized guy after O's Theo Flurry. Yeah. Like a lot for. us making it. So like to hear you talk about him that way too, guys love them. He was unreal. Like his celebrations too. Yeah. He's just, he's, he's, he's five, eight, at the, at the, you know, at, at the highest. Like he just, he just, he, the things he did at that, at the highest level plane for years, it's just unbelievable. Like it's just, I don't know, I don't know how it happened. We all know how it happened. Obviously it's, you can't really bad mouth the people that get in the whole thing, but didn't go over too well. But, um, you know, you, it's, you want to make sure that, uh, you know, it, it's fair. And in my opinion, it's just my opinion, but him and Pavan B should be involved in. So you were undrafted to the NHL. Were you, were you drafted to the WHO? No, back then you're, you're on a protective list. So, so Winnipeg basically moved to Bouchard. And I was, uh, so that's, that's kind of what happened back then. Okay. Night because so you got, I, I saw you got to play a little bit for the, for the, for the, uh, for the Manitoba junior team there, for the, for the Winnipeg Warriors. Winnipeg Warriors will play a couple of games when I was younger, so it's just not, and then we had to move there. So it's a great, a great little town, you know, met my wife there of, uh, four years and, and it's, uh, it's a, it's a fantastic way. While you were playing junior. No, no, no, no, we, we, we, we met in junior and then carried on and met, uh, we were engaged for five years. From read that, fellas. Yeah. Well, probably because you were so young, right? Like at least you get a little bit of leeway when you're that young. We, we did the long, you know, long-term relationship thing we did the, uh, but it's, she's an unlabeled person in a Milwaukee's kind of world. Was it, was she at your high school there? Like, how'd you guys meet? No high schools in Winnipeg. Oh, is it? I based these doctor until she had to, you know, finally grow up with me. I don't do it. Okay. There we go. She's like, if you promise me you'll be involved in the NHL for the next 50 years, I'll marry you. Deal. A five foot nine really, she's scared with, you know, some man hands. Hey, what can go wrong? Yeah. But yeah, they like, they like NHL paychecks, though. That's for sure. That was, was that team in, uh, the junior team in Winnipeg? Was that the team? I saw a fight of yours when you, it, you looked like you were 14 years old, but you had the Cooperals on. Uh, it was no, never, never fought in, uh, it was. That was back in Moussa. You guys wore those in Moussa. That's unbelievable. Speaking of gear with Mike Keenan, the people think of Sergey Fedorov with the Nike skates. I kind of think of you. I remember you rocking the Nike wheels. No, you didn't. Yeah, he did. Us fries. Nike said, no, you can't wear those because they're because they're too much like, you don't skate well enough for them. I think you look quicker in those things. They put the swish the other way, though. They with new balance. Yeah. Not quicker. Less, less, less slower for sure. Yeah. Instead of swoosh, it was walk. So, so you were undrafted. How did you get your invite to, to Montreal? Like, did you get to go to NHL camp before you went to Sherbrook? Like, how did that all go about? No, I just got a call. Um, I was lucky enough to play with my buddy, uh, John Ferguson, junior in, in Winnipeg when we were younger. And then search of art also, search, search finished his career in, uh, in Winnipeg. Uh, so I play with, with search junior. And then we got to be good friends and then, um, um, I didn't get drafted. And then they just gave me a trout and, and lucky enough that it worked out. And you lit it up that year. You, you had a big year for rookie in the, in the NHL, I would say, right? And then you never got, you never got, you never got called up that season where you kind of wait and for it. And did you have any idea the next year you'd be full on Montreal? No, it was, it was one of those things. I don't think it's, uh, you know, the game is, you know, obviously 30 years ago and it, and it's, it changed so much where, um, 25 goals or, you know, whatever it was, was a okay year. Like it's not a, it's not a fantastic year. Like it's, um, you know, you have guys celebrating now where you, you know, they think they're Bob, you're with, you know, 15 goals a year. Well, that's a fit. I prefer a fan base though. If you've signed an undrafted player and then that year in the age of 25, I think most fan bases are like, all right, we might have something here to take our compliment. I don't know, it's, it's, I'm not sure how it's supposed to work. You know, you, you, you, you went down and I, I do remember that it's, it's, um, my, the game evolves like every week. As you guys know, like when you're a camp and my first camp, I had a pretty good camp. Um, and I was feeling good. And then the camp just took off. Like it's just, after a first couple days of camp, then you know, you're, we played 12 exhibition games back then. So after a first couple of games, you're like, I don't know, you don't want, maybe I can play it not just level. And then it just takes off. You can't keep up. I remember my, my, my fall, my, my second camp, I couldn't wait to get sent back to junior. Like it was, uh, I'll just out of my leak. Like just out of my leak. So so then, you know, you go back to junior and then you go, you know, you come out the camp, you feel a little, a little more comfortable. The game slows down. And then you, you know, you head down to the American League, you have, you play against bigger, stronger, better players. And then you just feel ready that that fall in year when you, you know, come to camp and you, you hopefully find a spot and earn a spot. And back then, again, uh, way easier. Back then, you could earn a spot. It's not, um, you know, there's no cap back then. You didn't have to worry about, uh, you know, money and the else, he just picked the best players. So that was definitely beneficial for me. And also the fact, I guess that like you went from having Pat Burns and the miners to where the following year, when you made the NHL, he was then head coach of the Montreal Canadian. So obviously getting that like, getting that full year with him and earning his trust was massive. For sure. And that's again, like he, he, he basically didn't invincible. The movie, invincible with the Joe Papali, he basically called me in. I thought I was getting sent down. And he, he said, can you, uh, play this for me all year? I said, for sure. 100%. Well, what, yes, I can. And I, I made the team there. And it was, uh, I was in shock and happy and overwhelmed. And, uh, uh, couldn't believe it was happening to me. And that year, did you guys go to the cup final? Right to the cup finals and lost. And that was the kit. All these shit to your boy feel. What do you remember about that series? Like, I, I was six, but I think of like, landing McDonald, well, landing McDonald, like when you see highlights and new and dyke was on that Calgary team, right? As a, as a young player and you're this, so, you know, dumb, we are, I assume that we'd go every year to the cup finals. Like that's your first year. And, um, I remember, uh, this thing, congratulations to, uh, landing McDonald, because it was, I used to watch them also when he was, uh, he's a legend. I was so happy for him. And I, I just, I was upset, obviously, but I was, uh, I was just so happy for him. And it was, and then we don't go to the frowns for a while. I'm like, hey, it's not working out the way it's supposed to. So it's, it's, it's something that you kind of don't take for granted now, especially when you're looking back and, and, um, you have really good teams in the HL right now that are Schumer supposed to get there, um, but it just, it doesn't work out the way. It just, there's, there's so many good players and good teams and you kind of have to, you kind of have to, everyone's got to get together at the right time. And you need luck from the hockey gut. I was going to say, I was young in the cup finals. And then I was like, yeah, we'll be going back and I never sniffed another one, but you actually won three. So you saying it, it did work out in the end. It did work out. And I, I still think they're the dumbest people alive. But if you don't have good gold, then you, you don't win. Okay. I had, I had bad you off for two. I had, I had bill four for one. So it's, it's, they were, and they were unbelievable. So it's, it's, it's, and that's not taken away from the Hall of Fame players that I was, you know, playing with, like we have to score goals. But, um, you need good gold and win. And it's, uh, um, I don't know, I don't know why it happened, but it's just, you know, you, you, your first year, you, you learned so much from it where, you know, we didn't deserve to win, you know, you, you don't get back. We didn't win a game at home during the, during the final. So so you don't, you don't deserve to win. Um, every other team, when they, you know, the battle, your, your home ice is just huge. You, you have to win your games at home. So that's, that, that's why you played for it. So it's, um, I'm just really lucky that I was lucky enough to go, uh, a couple of times, you know, one, one, three times lost twice. So it's, it's no fun losing. Yeah. And before you go here, I just want you to elaborate. You said that they're the dumbest people alive, but you need them to win as far as gold tenders. Gold tenders. Yes. For sure. Okay. What, can you elaborate on that? Well, no. Like it's just, they're not very bright. Like it's, come on. Think about it. Like you got to be dumb to have a puck fire. Yeah. Guys, your guys are, guys are a rip and pox at you. They're on top of the hill and you're right in the head and you're, and you're pissed off when it doesn't hit you. Yeah. That's a good explanation of insane. Yeah. They're insane. Who's the smartest one you ever had? The guy who led in every shot. True. True. Yes. The, the ones that never got hit, I guess. They weren't very good, but they were the smartest ones. Obviously being in Montreal for that whole or deal when patty asked for the trade or whatever happened sitting behind the bench, the owner there. Like, how did that, how did that go over in the locker room? Like, what was, what were you guys talking about the next day? That must have been an absolute shit show. weren't you involved in the package that went over. I was, I was in Patty's back pocket. So I worked out, worked, uh, you know, worked out pretty well. But it's, uh, I remember two burns. He like burns. He was very passionate. And, um, if you look at the games, you'll, you'll back in, you'll go back and you'll watch the games. Back then, there was no glass behind the, in the stands, like you're right in the stands. And so behind that section was Senator Molson and, you know, Mrs. Molson and the whole family of eels. And burnjee's language was incredible. Like is, and, and it's literally right in the whole section. Like you was, uh, you, myself and Brank Hill, Krista, a younger player who, who, you know, we broke in together while the game's going when he used to red line and just lose it. And he was snapping. We said, go, go, oh my god. Like he's, he's saying that with, with Senator Molson right behind him makes, like, it was unbelievable. But he was, he was such a, such a good person. And, uh, the trade, the trade, um, it's, oof, like it, it just, it happens so quickly and in the, uh, the fine thing leading up to it that it's not, not really finally back then. So it, it happened. Um, so after my wife and I tried to find Patrick. So, he got out on the whole bed and, uh, we're, we're, we're trying to find. So I, we called his, his house and Michelle's white picked up and, hey, we're patty. And I like, we're going to come see and make sure things are okay. And, um, so, so we, we go out there and, um, so we had the meat, we had a meat and like a back hell. Like it was some really, it was a, it was a, it was a back, but it was a really shitty movie. Like it was like something we had to meet in a back alley. And then the lights would flash from a car coming out of us to meet somewhere and then we go to some place where, you know, Pierre Lacois was, uh, was an agent. We go to his place because there's media around his house. So it was really, and then finally we see him. It was like really, like coconut dagger type thing. And then we saw him and he was, you know, he was okay, but it was, it was, when the trade happened, he was devastated. And because you're, you're talking about Patrick Lacois who's had much all icon who thought he'd be playing for the much all came for, for the next 20 years. And then once that, once that happened, it was, it was, uh, I'm sure a shock for him. We've talked to people about this before who said, because, uh, Lamar came in that season, right? And then they'd kind of been battling. They'd been budding heads most of the year. Somebody mentioned us. I thought and then when that all broke down and came down, I just was curious if you had any idea that you'd possibly be, be moving out as well. Like did you think you were on the move maybe before that? It's on the move because I got miss quote of our saying. I don't, oh, I heard about this. What was it? It was about French speaking, right? I never, I never said, I never saw, it was about, you know, learning friends. So one of the, one other reports asked me, I just kind of named captain. And one other reports asked me, they said, hey, what did the guy speak in the dressing room? I said, I'm most guys big English. Next date in the papers, Kim refused to learn our language, which is not true. I was taking lessons at the time. So it didn't go too well. I was getting glued in, in, you know, much all forums. So I knew something would have happened. But you're right. So uh, Mirro Tromblay was the head coach. So him and Patrick used to, you used to battle a little bit. Like he used to use kind of see, I didn't see eye to eye. So um, he left them in during that game. And it's the one thing too that that people don't know is that so we were, uh, we, we were going to watch um, the Russian five from Detroit, they're fed her off a cause of it. Just the, we were supposed to guard them. Vinny Denver showed up for, for seven o'clock for eight o'clock game. So he got stuck in traffic in the whole bedroom. So I think it was fine. Nothing before that anthem was over. So so it was, we're like holy shit. So we're, we're on the bench five four five six one. What's, what's going on? Like, why isn't he pulling patty? And then five seven. And then finally, you know, you know, you know, they did. And then Patrick did is I said, I played my last game as much okay. And then that's how it went down. Wow. Like a colossal storm, basically, is, is what happened. Yeah, and there's, there's something that maybe, maybe Mary was there and he, he wanted to prove a point or I'm not sure. I'm not sure, however, but I got, uh, uh, worked out pretty well for me. I got, uh, I got stuck in, you'll patty's back, you'll back pocket and went to Colorado, played with some Hall of Fame players and, uh, one again and, uh, life was good. And you got to stop taking your, uh, French lessons at Jay Perry. Yeah. I gave my three. A couple bags of barbecue chips and you're fine for the night. Yeah. Um, did you ever try to like clear the air or like grab that reporter who wrote that and we're like, yo, what the fuck? No, you moved on from it. And it's, it's just too bad that it's, it's, uh, much y'all was unlabeled place to play. It really is. Like it, it's a, the passion that people have is simply incredible. And it's the, the players that I got a chance to play with and learn from, like I play with layer Robinson, Bob, Gini, Patty, Wah, Chelly, uh, who the stories are true. Like, you used to work out, we used to work out in the sauna, uh, ride the bike in the sauna. Like it was, it was unbelievable. Krikey Mowler, a carbo, um, just unbelievable guys that you learn how to play the game from, um, and then you move on to, you know, you learn, you know, you learn so much from those guys and they're just tremendous people that showed all of us young players how to play. And, and then you, you, you played harder regardless. And I remember one night when we, we played Hartford one night, we won, we won four one and we got boot off the ice. But we, we, we didn't play hard enough, we didn't play the right way. So it's just a whole, whole, whole different level of, of doing things the right way. What do you remember the most from the celebration when you guys won it there? Oh, he, he could, he could slide them back for sure. Oh, some believeable, like legendary, like, I feel legendary. The, the thing I remember, like, we used to get out, like, we got to after for probably a couple of weeks. And so we, we lived right, basically down from treasury. So my wife and I used to basically fall down and hit our front door, uh, right in, right in the front of sorts. But the one thing I do remember, it was probably two weeks. We're still there. And it was three in the morning, we're at, uh, we're at Winnie's, uh, Winston's on, uh, you know, St. Catherine's. And it was, and I, I was sober. And this is after, after in one for probably 12 hours. And I was like, what's happy? Like am I, am I true? I'll call it quick. What's happening? I don't know what's, I don't know what's happening. So I got panic. I called over to my wife today. Uh, are you drunk? I said, no, not really. I booked, I booked two flights back home, we went back to Winnipeg. That's when you knew. That's what I knew. I said, it's time to go look like it's drank yourself sober. That's a, that's a definitive fact that can happen. That's when you know, I guess, okay, he's talking to go. It's time to go back to Winnipeg, which didn't help the cause because I saw my buddies for the fun. But it was a good time. Did you guys have the day with the cop and everything like they have now? We, we, we did. We got it. Um, I didn't get it actually in Matrol. I got it lucky enough. I got it with Colorado and Dallas. So I, uh, nothing crazy. Um, my, my, my, my Nana was still around. She was a hundred and three years old. So I, I took it to, uh, her, um, well, folks home and the people there, it was, it was fantastic. It really was. I see the, there was a lot of people, you know, with a lot of tears and people for the first time seen it and, and the names that were on it and, uh, and then we, uh, we had some fun with it that night. And that was it. And then it'll go on the next day. That's unbelievable. It's kind of crazy. You hadn't scored that year. And it only 18 games, the Montreal trade and then you got 10 throughout the rest of the year with Colorado and then you guys, you guys get it done. Like the, the, how quick that happened. It must have been crazy. When you get in that locker room and you see those names, you realize that holy shit. Like I love Montreal, but this team, it's a lot better team than what you had unreal. Like they're there and the move too. They, they, uh, you know, rest in peace. They got Claude Lemieux and, uh, you know, he was, uh, he was a game changer when he came and, um, they, they, you know, they made some unblable moves to make it happen. And, you know, the, the players, like just Joey Sack, a Pierre Forsberg, but the, the, um, happy, the, the supporting cast of players, they had Scotty Young and Adam Deadmarschen. Um, you know, it was just incredible. Like, reach was there. Um, they're just, it just goes to show you that you need that, that secondary scoring, that signary group of players that, um, that have to chip in. So it's, it's, it's playing for, you know, getting treated there, especially with, especially with them. Be Quebec. Right. You know, I, I hate those guys. I can hate, like, hate it though. Like there was no chance that I would like anyone on the team. And then I'll see that change once you, you know, you want to play for them and, uh, also worked out pretty well. I forgot to ask you that when you were playing with Montreal, because at that time, like they still had the team in Quebec, what were those games like when you were playing in Quebec, like, like even even in Quebec City on the road? Like, did they just give it to you guys? Was it pretty, was it, was it vulgar? Was it, like, what was it like? It was, it was, it was, it was rough. Like it was, it was not as rough as, as the 80s. Like, where are these, uh, Ben's community balls? like when when Chris Downe was there and like it was we used to watch those on TV and it was absolutely like lunacy. Like two handed tops behind the leg and running over goalies and but it was it was it was heated for sure more probably more from from two teams right you were you like the back or you love Montreal. So it wasn't really you know we just played hard but you we just played each other so much that's why you get them where they write on like the cusp of a cuz I believe Colorado won the first year in Colorado right so we lost so so we um their goalie coach because we played we we played when we won uh we played Quebec in the first round or second round and I believe their goalie coach came out and said that we've solved patty was uh we know how to play against patty law and patty law took up personally and then we won four straight nothing like that goalie coach fine. I know goalie coach she's like patty didn't even have the goalie had to save the puck bud just don't why are you giving interviews. That's why they didn't have goalie coaches for so long after. Yeah didn't read the room very well. So it's uh so we we you went on but but that team and then the following year was where we went there and then we uh you know and follow you with a with a really good team a young young peer foursburg Joe Sackick. But if they're still in Quebec there's no way they're trading Patrick Waugh from Montreal took Quebec so it's like would they even did did they have the money to even go out and make deals like that or is it cuz they went to Colorado they were able to do that with new ownership. I believe cuz cuz they went to Colorado. I think Pierre Laquois was very smart man very very great GM so he was he was really new new his players he wanted and then you know they were they were good seven for that was it was a outstanding goalie just once you get patched you are I think that's that's the that's the next level so so and that's what you know that's what put them over the car. That's great like statistically speaking that was Sackick's best year 120 points that year 95 96 he did it six times which I knew he had a lot of points but that's crazy he was so good like playing with him must have been incredible I just being young and seen his snapshot you're like how's that even possible then that's before like synergies he was pretty small too right off the ice like was he a small guy yeah no I know about it but a hard worker like he was in the gym all the time like he was he was a again I I get asked all the time who's the best player I played with I can't answer that I like I don't I don't know who who you would pick as your as your star lineup like you have like I said you had Learons and Bob Guy Guy Carbino Patrick Wall Kirk Muller Colorado Joe Sackick Peter Forsberg Valerie Kaminsky clothing you again Dallas Joe Nguondike Brett Hall McBedano Sergey Zuboff the Sadim brothers in Vancouver playing with Wayne Gersky in in New York a young Koval left who I so we play three and three after I couldn't get the puck physically or mentally off of Alexek Koval. Oh yeah I heard he was different I couldn't take the puck off him. Well he was a tank right skilled unless I cocoa bombed him over the head I'd been get the puck off. Wait were you with Wayne his last year the his last second to last year second last year okay yeah like he was like he's only one year and I actually got to got to see him for the first time in a long time at at Peppy Service and we were he was telling us a he's first thing he says he says oh you fucker I said why like well geez what happened he says I remember the time you and screwy put 25 pound weights in my bag at the whole start getting to carry my bag and and all your hockey cards we filled up his bay with all of our hockey cards from there because you used to get all our packs of them and you but he just went through his back coat he said tonne of grab his hockey back from from putting his weights in it so it's it was but he was obviously with with you know playing with Wayne Brian Leach you know I don't know I don't know Wayne hands down the best player but after that is they're all absolutely incredible what are you got to play with so many unreal players like that and all and all unbelievable human beings and I can and I can say I tell you I tell you not we'll say who's the biggest prick I can't tell you like none of those guys they're all at and every player was unbelievable player with all different personalities somewhere kind of raw raw some would lose their mind some red line some wouldn't some wouldn't say anything and just play so so it's it was kind of interesting watching different players from different teams and no one wants to get treated but after we're all like you just get to see these guys and see them in their element and they just they just thrive when the pressure's on yeah this the raw the coaches you've had too because then you go to Dallas you have hitch oh god the stores okay all right let's go let's well even even a Colorado when you wanted you had Crawford as a head coach Quenville and Jacques Martin as a assistant coaches that's a pretty heavy lineup right there that's a good Jacques Martin that's nice it's Jacques Martin oh yeah I took your lessons for you buddy all and and those three two cocoa like all great people all great and and Crow at some he had some classic snaps like he used to lose his mind wouldn't he kick guys he used to boot guys in the back he used to he used to break some sticks he used to you know I don't want to throw him under the bus but he used to make me giggle castle he used to lose his mind like yes I'd be I'd be like this and then we'd be kind of like this and it's just half but but but all all great coaches hitch two like it's it's well documented hitch you know I went on holly and tasers you know podcast I've promised two people that I'd go on their podcast those two I had to do it and you're guys too biz I promise you years ago I would do it my um I'm here today but I'm telling you right now I'm I'm never doing another podcast that's it this is the last one because I'm starting one guys I'm here to announce it the hits stories are are are well documented and I I told a couple on on that chasing a holly but it's just the game has changed so much I don't think it would happen today where we he was he was hard hitch was hard like he used to rip on us all the time regardless if we won games lost games wherever it was he wanted the perfect game so one practice so one practice we were not as good with every it comes off I'm getting changed and uh he comes out because I you better be better tomorrow can't say I fuck off yeah I want it yeah okay so it's like so but he so he comes back and he grabs me by the jersey and he has me pinned up in my stall like I'm unchanged and stuff he has he pinned up he says fuck you fuck you it's like so her so somehow I get superhuman strength and I I throw him back and I'm now I throw him on the ground and I got my chin I have my my knees on his on his shoulders and I'm in the middle of the room and I'm on I'm on his chest in the room and then so I'm I'm in the room the room turns into a prison everyone should get him kick him get him get him punch him in the face get him guys are boot him guys are guys are like lose their mind it's just so I finally get off to yeah yeah it's like so he walks by and he says oh you're lucky came my skates were and done but that's all he says and the walks out he loved it though right when you gave it back he loves he loved it like he absolutely loved it he didn't like it shanked by the what did the the sixth defenseman was on the ground but like he just he just you know he he thrived on on I don't know pitting his players against us like he was just so so hard like he was just an absolute he won the perfect game I get it's and I again the the best one time I told it on the last broadcast that it just it's just really it tells him what type of what kind of person he is like we we dominate the road trip and this is after like this after the you know we played Florida whoever was and and we there they were even in the game after we're expecting somehow we didn't play night of you know the the next night so we're going to go out in Florida after a big win comes in come in lock it down he gave a shit like he was shit again so I looked down at at at Holly and he he was I don't know he kind of goes what's I don't know so he sees me he says what's like like what like what like we're I said I don't know what you guys are pissed off at the coach you staff were pissed off like what do you pissed off at we're like we're we guys didn't play well you're passing this shitty you're tracking this shitty you're this and that so yeah whatever like it says fuck we won the road trip or you swept it things are good you know fuck off no it's not going to win that way and says will someone down here again not Holly and not me because yeah fuck off get out of your get out get out get out get out the whole the whole room starts chanting get out get out so he he you cute cute he's kind of screaming around the room and funny he leaves yeah Turn the music on and then everyone's happy again. So so that's that's like the the type of guy he was So so next day we're thinking that he's gonna be in a bad mood or pissed off. So we wrote in Florida. We kind of get after one and We're all waiting in line. There's three guys waiting in line and we're kind of really foggy Waiting for our coffee in line. It comes out. He's happy as punch. Hey guys. How are you? Hey, it's uh How's the night? Good. Hey, did you catch a game last night? Did you uh No, I didn't walk off you last night. No, I'm like no, it's at the elbow room saturday night in Florida No, I didn't stay home and watch hockey. I'm sorry. No, did he ever address to you when you when you pinned him on the Grouse and ever like oh, we got a little carried away there. It was just never spoken of again. No, no, he Things he would have took me if if escapes were done up. I think he might have Mike honestly. Well, where are you? St. Louis camp. He would come on. He would barely have him done up. His ankles would be buckled in like a V And he would like waddle around and guys would just be firing pocket his feet the entire time and then and then Because he basically couldn't skate across the ice at that time. They would put the board right by where you came out And I think it was at Steve Aught or was it one of the guys? I think Steve Aught was still there with uh With yep, or somebody they would they would grab the board every time they would skate it to the other side of the ice So just so he would finally have to end up coming over like they would just treat him like like shit Like but like give it back to him because he was giving it to them all time. Yes. Yes And he was like he you know if he gave a shit before practice I was probably dumb because we were gonna do shit and I used to put all the pucks right by the gate So he couldn't step on the ice Like he couldn't so he had a landmine get off get off there He's holding on the side of bench and so it was just and then finally he got on the ice and like you know, just said We used to we used to fire pucks like at his blades and just The speed wall would happen and it wouldn't go down, but Yeah, he was uh, but but again my my I said the last time too my my disclaimer hits where The one thing that I never said uh, he was a bad coach. He was a very good coach He he he prepared the teams very well and And hold everyone in the right direction to make sure that we were doing everything to win the Stanley company did that Were you there when he got stuck in the hot and in the bathtub? I was not the hot tub No, he got stuck in the bathtub in the room and thankfully they had the room for and if room for next to the Bath and you had to call it one of the boys that come help him out Apparently Where did you ever heard that one? No, I've never heard that maybe I just made it up. I close Mikey He carries a toaster and he's like Oh I thought that year though when you guys won it in Dallas. I was just looking at the numbers bell four stats were Has anyone ever had stats like that in the playoffs? It's crazy He was and and Eddie too like Eddie was I say I say they're dumb they're not dumb there You know they're a little bit brain dead, but they're not dumb like Eddie was Eddie was one of the guys too like he was really ahead of his time like he used to he used to buy his own stuff Like so he used to he's a pay for zone stuff. He used to make his own skates And it was it was like he was a really bright guy and then sells no stuff. There's kind of ahead of the game but he was he's He was Hands down Like Patrick was he was he was why we won in Dallas and the the guys we had who we had you know I said like you know newly in Mike Medano and Holly who Holly was a He's the funniest. He's a biggest dick in the funniest guy you'll ever meet like it's it's I can't I can't I get I told business at chasers cheery event Come on school that During the game like this like he was every player was was bad like every player was dog shit Like it was if he can't pass it can't score 50 goals your dog shit So he he broke a stick and you know you you know you threw a go you'll come guys throw this stuff over You know the the play is going on in your grab it you walking by He grabbed my inch looked at it Saw that it was mine dropped it Came back looped around and grabbed another one in adjourned the play during the play and then after the game I like I'm like Hey, what's a like like what are you doing like come and stick one? Oh, I just where am I going to do dump it in like it's like what I just this Just smartass remarks like you are just a dick like it's just but and he chirp guys sticks and curves and stuff right oh no wonder why Yeah He he said he hated the game and the whole bit but he was he was One of the brightest guys of about the game like he's and and since they believe not he got 790 goals wherever he got I still think he's a better passer. I really do wow So kind of like OV people underestimate OV's playmaking ability what I would I would I would never think of OV is like I'm never thinking of Brett holer OV is passers. Right. I'm never thinking of their passing ability like I I would have never thought that with Brett holer Yeah, he played with it at a modes obviously so he didn't need to you know he was a you know he was a shooter but he he made a pass to magnetino like on a two on one is probably a A four-foot sauce between a 10 foot radius that just landed flat mode is hammered that thing like But he used to see things that people didn't see but he was like him credit for his passing just as much as scoring to be fair OV's got just 108 more assists than Brett holer Obviously, he's probably played a little longer as far as games with 758 assists OV but you're saying like okay, will you play long enough like you're fucking you're obviously getting like rebounds are being collected from a shot and and that type of thing He's not like zipping them back door tapens every night. No, he's like he's just he just he just saw things that Because he's Brett holer like he just saw things people didn't see And then he had this kill to do it like he was just uh he was uh He was uh He was a different player to play with but oh my god he made me laugh who won the cons might that year you guys won it in Dallas I'll be that you know. Yeah, oh was because I'm looking here like patty wall like those guys are a little bit of the loose cannon But I heard Eddie Balfour was a loose cannon when he played too, right? Yeah, Eddie was Eddie was a different bird like just like a goalie's to like it was uh We had to we had to move Marty turkle From beside him one time Because Eddie was Eddie was he he he was very competitive But but we had to move him because Eddie thought he was playing with his gear and fucking with his stuff and So just to screw him up. So we had to move him on the other side of the pole where he didn't see and uh marie marie said I'd I'd see marie both goalies and he kind of look at me and he kind of go by in the pole kind of look and then kind of come back and Not kind of see it because he didn't want Eddie a lose his mind. So it's but he was Eddie was Eddie and we let him do his thing and uh, you know again, he was helped us uh Oh, achieve our goal. Noondike wanted wow really Yeah, I saw about four stats and I was like well, he didn't win it because it's not listed and I looked it up noondike Which kind of shows that how much more the cup means and everyone knows that but like Mike couldn't even remember who won it either like yeah, doesn't matter who cares. We won the cup. I don't even I don't even remember Pretty wild that that will uh, new and dyke was another guy who won three Stanley cups with three different teams And then obviously I believe with Claude Lemieux was one of them of course as well, right And then you so you guys all played together trying to think of the guys was a grand marshal Maybe didn't marshy win. Trying to think of the players that did it um But it's their mark recky. Oh, yeah recky recky deer with penguins hurricane's brooons Uh, gourd pettinger rangers red wings prune's al arbor Okay, red wings black hawks may believes Larry Hillman and red noble Al arbor as in the coach. I guess so I didn't know he was a player. He played. No, maybe a different um I got to ask you one going back. This is actually before I think you played in the NHL when The it was the world junior they hadn't pish jani Slovakia And you were involved in that brawl where the lights went were turned out correct We were we were What like could you take us through like how that all happened like take us through like the Who you were playing against like what give us the whole run down. So so we were planning against russia And we had uh, we had to be russia by i i believe those two or three goals we were winning by two at the time. So um Looking back, it's crazy to but we'll we'll kind of get that but those um They were like that the play was the game was really dirty. It goes a really dirty game Like as you get in cost jacked and speared and kicked in the whole bit. So um It's just escalated where I was online with feel and ever center pass Who was a first-run pick for a Chicago back the day really Nice kid, but a really tough kid when the wires crossed and the wires crossed so um It was but kind of between whistles that Uh a semi-fipe broke out and then another one started And then a five on five started and uh, we were on the ice when it happened. So to this day. I don't know who left the bench first Um, they they said uh and inner inner our coaches were Pat Burns, and a gentleman named Bert Templeton from the O. And he was, he had a, a rib page for being a really tough coach. Um, but so, uh, the five on five starts and then next day I know I'm fighting, uh, I find the guy in the corner. Um, next day, you know, after that fight, um, it's a full on brawl. So, um, watching guys, watch you guys fight, whatever it is, and it goes on for, I don't know how long for probably 10 minutes, but, um, they cut to a commercial. So that was going to, I can't imagine being a parent and, and you're watching this with my son on the ice and a customer commercial. I think I'd probably break the TV of it, you happen, but it's, and they, they cut, they come back and it's a, it's a full pledge. It's still going on like there's fights. It's a full-fledged bench cleaning brawl. So it's, they, they don't know what to do. The, the ref left, like left the ice surface, left the ice like it's basically just us fighting. So I guess they decide good idea. They'll just shut the lights off. So right then it's not a great idea to do, but, um, so I, I, guys are suckering guys too. Guys going around and suckering guys and knocking guys out in the whole bit. So I, I get my, my back towards them, towards the board. That's all they did. I kind of smart. And then they flip back on again and then watching the fights again. So it's, but during that time, like guys are kicking, like guys are kicking guys. There's, there's two on ones going on. There's, it just mayhem. Like it's just kind of mayhem. Finally, kind of dies down, but, um, the one thing we both team got suspended at the end of it. But I was hoping that we, we would continue because they couldn't have played. And I'll tell you why. So I'm growing, I'm grabbing our sticks and, and gloves and helmets. I'm throwing the words. Kids are taking it and taking off. Like they're, they couldn't have played the, the, they couldn't have come back. I must have throw over probably 10 helmets, 25 gloves. Those are gone. Were you the only guy chuck it, should over the glass? Uh, maybe a couple of the guys do. Like maybe kind of saw me do it going, yeah, fuck them. Like, you know, throw that shit over. So it's, so we unfortunately, we didn't continue because like I said, both teams got thrown out. Um, but I was hoping we would because they wouldn't have played. Now, you, you said that the coach, I forget his name, who was in the old, you think, you think maybe he gave a couple of guys in the bench, get out there? Well, I'm not, I'm not sure, but I just, I know that I know that we were on the ice when it happened. And I'm happy that our guys came out. So I know that we got, uh, we, it didn't go too well. You know, with us, I think, uh, don't sherry. He, you know, he backed us against, uh, who was the guy from CBC at Williams, was there a, um, and he says a black mark on, on hockey and, you know, Canadian sports. And, um, I just know I was on the ice and if they didn't come on the ice, we would have got, you heard pretty bad. Um, we did the right thing. I, I would, if it happened again, and I was mind the bench, there, there's no question that's happening that my guys will be protected. Um, so this Burke Templeton, I'm pretty sure he was a coach in the OHL for the submarine wolves. Um, and he would, he would take the seat right by the bathroom at the back. Like, you know, the coach told me sits the front. What do he would take? He would take the pit and he would, he would stretch out his legs and he would have his wife come on road trips. So, buddy, I'm telling you, Bert, I'm positive. That's love. That's love. Bert, temp, I'm positive. This is the guy. Templeton. Come on, honey. Let's, let's grab a seat by the hitter. Yeah. Did you ever bring your wife on a road trip in junior? Yeah, he coached for a submarine. He coached for the submarine wolves. What guy's told you that? Guys are telling you wife the whole ride. Hey, click on the roster. Is his wife the assistant? Yeah. No, she's. Yeah. But I did, I did hear, I did hear a call like he was, he used to hide players under the bus in the border too. Like I heard. Yeah. Yeah. That's when he was with the Barry Colts, I think. Yeah. Yeah. That was the guy who did this. Yeah. Barry Colts. Oh, what a way to rush. He wasn't even going to let him out because they were, they were family members of the guys you beat up in Piazzani. That is so good. That is so good. Well, Mike, thank you so much, man. I don't know. You guys got anything else for him, biz? I shit. You know what? This is the last time I'm ever doing one of these. Well, no, you might, you could come back on here because that means you didn't do another podcast. You just did a second version. Well, you did, you did mention that playing with the sit-ins was pretty cool. I mean, maybe, and then you were anything about your time in Vancouver or playing with the sit-ins that you remember? The sit-ins were, they were unbelievable, like they were unbelievable too. My time, I'm playing one year there, and I wasn't very good. I didn't play very well. I just didn't fit in. I was older, but I didn't really, I couldn't fit in Vancouver. Am I, my stand lowest time? Am I Rangers? I guess we're just three places. I just didn't, I couldn't, I couldn't fit in. I just didn't, I didn't play very well, but my, my, my time at Vancouver, my, my sitting stories is, and this is crazy, where I couldn't tell them apart, like I could not tell them apart, they're identical. So they would, like, and they would come to practice, not, not talking to each other, wearing the same thing. It was, it was unbelievable. So it's like, I went, are you guys fucking me now? Like I guess doing this on purpose to say, no, it's just kind of fluke, but that's really weird. So one of them, one of them chips their tooth, their chip, their front tooth, and I thought, perfect. This is Hank, chip, chip tooth, Hank, perfect. Next game, Daniel Chipsy, exacting tooth. Are you guys kidding? I feel like you're fucking with us right now. I'm telling you right now, it's unbelievable. They're, they're, they're career, they're, you know, Hall of Fame unbelievable player, but that part is, was so bizarre to me, that's my time with things. That's too good. Last one for me, any regret, like, I mean, it feels like you left it all on the ice, I guess, like there's can't be any, any, any, or many regrets. No, no, my, my only regret is that I, I, um, playing with the Rangers. I, myself and Palafontein, Palafontein just came back from, um, his, you know, now retirement, but one didn't, you want to play again from, from concussions. And we were, we're on the ice and we collided during the game, and that was the last time where you played. And that's my, my biggest regret. Fuck, both of you guys just taking a turn, not like looking the other way. Back the puck didn't go well. We, he looked this way, I looked out, we just collided and then he went off and then played again. And that's my, that, that's because he was, he was coming back and he was feeling good and he was helping us, you know, when and he was having fun again. And we had, uh, we had a short stint, but we had a really good time. He's a really super guy and, uh, that's, that has down is my biggest regret. That's just an unlucky bunch. You can't blame yourself for that. Yeah. Yeah. This was awesome, man. We, we thank you so much for doing it. He says it's his last podcast. You do five, five HL podcasts. There's absolutely nothing. He's got a live call to cup recap show every night. I got to go in Hershey's right now. We're talking about. Yeah. Yeah, this fucking Charoo guy buried 70 on us as asshole. But you give me Reese's peanut butter cups and Reese's sent me a bunch. And I'm handing them out. Geez, bringing them into the garden. That's what they're all snacking on during chasing goal with Mer and Elio. I'm at home giving my kids Reese's peanut butter cups constantly. I'm ordering ice cream. That was awesome And now it's time for the Wardhawg himself Hello Everybody welcome to our raised world here the spit and chickless podcast how about those Boston Bruins one and oh Nice victory the other night. We would chase some goals didn't catch six of them But it was great to be in the bond thanks to all you if I have me out great to see murals in Boston in G Of course, so I Where did you disappear off till let's get it? Let's get on that one okay. I was waiting for this so after the first period. I went to grab a Bruin of pretzel and I I musted if I get mustard I'm wearing it. So I said I'm gonna eat this out in the hallway They dropped the puck for the start of the second period. I think this is the longest stretch of play I've ever seen or heard without a whistle. No, they went eight minutes and 51 seconds I counted before the next face off I just sent the picture over to the boys the how long the lines were to get back in like just like I've never seen lines like this Oh, you can't walk down if the place going on. Oh, I mean come on man. Oh, I know you played But that's the rule if you're in the out in the audience. Oh, that's brutal You didn't know that no Yeah, that's what they do to that. So people So in the sweet you don't have to deal with that I guess yeah So anyways, I yeah, like she said I could have you know, it wasn't like it took forever to get in as I was standing there One of my old pals from Dorchester popped up a couple of old Catholic memorial guys haven't seen in decades They say pop by pop up the sweet couple guys up to say hello And wit was funny one of the kids who was with him. He says hey, I remember which told the story a few weeks ago of somebody leaving a note on his windshield Well, this was the kid dicks. Yeah, it dicks this kid. Oh, that guy's the man corner van dozer is his bingo right there this guy right here So it kind of I think it was sort of a chick that's full circle moment because he told me the story I said oh my god, we told that on the show because you know, he didn't want to buy the idea I saw you know, he told the story about come up and say hello anytime And you know, wit and public probably what the kids maybe a little maybe a little sirly maybe a little grumpy Oh, what was the story? I don't remember this Never no, okay, well, I think maybe he just didn't want to disturb you with you know in a family setting It wasn't like a note. Yeah, I don't remember you telling this he told the story for a few weeks. I don't forget it That thing I tweeted out. He just left such a nice note on my car And you read it for those who who didn't hear I mean some episode sometimes do you remember it's here in the story? No, buddy. I got fucking by a mush branch in one out the other on this So it said um, wait, I didn't want to come up to you with your son when I was in the army I had a few hard years personal issues and a few soldiers Suicides under my command that really shook me your show was the best part of my week for a while made me feel connected to home Thank you, you guys are more important than you will ever know best of wow in the USA water bottle in the back What are the odd class love and then are a meet some that's awesome good guy. I bet Absolutely. Yeah, it was just wild that this you know, but two buddies behind actually a couple of Catholic memorial legends from back of the day I East Bailey and Brenda can cannon and that they happen to be with this kid in the same box that that you know this kid who met you So yeah, so I went up there with with them and just kind of shoot the breeze with some guys I hadn't seen but the funny thing is as you can see from the picture I was right behind all the you know G and murals and and Ilio So there was no goals if the if the goals were if they had you know four or five goals I would have bombed down on the seats, but there was no Like chance that who gonna get six well actually goals you couldn't have gone down because then you'd be mushing it It's almost like you were stuck in that beautiful box for a if your CM buddies that you hadn't seen weren't in a box Would you have gone up and said hello? Well, yeah, absolutely. I mean they ace was like hey, come on up. I sorry. Yeah, I mean, I but it was like I was going up There was no it was like there was a spread of shrimp cocktail. What's up? Is it like we don't have to know what happens with the ocean called George. Yeah No, it was just more you know a couple like I said a couple fellows and you know all time kind of flies But like I said I was literally right behind the guys they texted them and you know There was there was no danger unfortunately of chasing goals, but it was a blast Alio's such a good guy. It was I he's awesome and Boston and I don't know if you guys mentioned the guy getting hit in the head with the puck I was right for you guys. Yo, okay. Yeah, Boston main account. We tweeted out. Yeah, like in a way Saw the highlight after one of the range of the fence been just an awful like dump in flip to the zone Bobby Schneider I don't Sealed right into the crowd and doing because I was telling girls the score of the Florida game And he reached out like to try to grab something and if they if it didn't hit this guy's head It definitely would have hit one of us because he was two rows in front of us But there was nobody sitting in the first row in front of us and then this guy like he was leaking two men like he had his hand out It was like a couple of blood. Oh, they walked them out He come back with like a big old bandage on his head like a 1920s dentist style like you know big white bandage on his head Someone bought him a beer and like they don't give him a stand at all. He won the fan of the game So yeah, it was pretty wild the guys made the jumbo actually like they presented him on the jumbo tron with fan of the game Yeah, well, you know like they like oh fan a fan B fan C and yeah, he okay, he won it so yeah, it was great times Yeah, I mean I was like all right, I have the over in Florida, Carolina to what's the score 0 0 And I mean so basically even even if I went back to see it's I literally I mean I've never seen a run of play like that I mean the whole I'm sorry the half a period you missed the whole thing just stay on this so yeah, but I think there's ever been a period played without a whistle I'd be curious to know the fewest amount of whistles in a whole period I bet there's been one without a whistle a period well the whistle No, no way ever I'd make it to frozen party party first night of the year We just got a nine minute. You don't think in the hundred and whatever years of the NHL There's never been one period without a whistle. I bet you jeez googling it right now. We're gonna find out a full period of hockey has never been played in the NHL without a whistle Yeah, that's okay. What's the least amount of whistles? The longest recorded stretch of continuous play without stoppage or a whistle in NHL history is just under 14 and a half minutes Wow that happened Washington capitals versus Pittsburgh penguins March 11, 2014 Wow, that would be sick watching those two teams going at it no whistle We got it. We got to get that period and we got a watch it 14 minutes is the right. I was because I was curious because I mean nine minutes That's a long time. I mean you saw the lines of people waiting to get back to the seat What were the shot totals? Like does it give you like the Here's right. Yes, that's a picture of the guy's head wrapped up after getting the puck in the dome with some mighty tighties on his head Got a code text on his friggin head. It's a diaper The pen Do we have the shots on goal that period? Like what was I wonder what the gameplay was like? 2014 is that one said was like not injured Yeah, oh shit, Ron. Well, I kind of would you guys not want to watch the period now? No, there was there was a game in 1944 that was a 0 0 tie that they don't have the records for fully But they say it took under two hours so they don't understand how that game could have been played with So many whistles so they think that that could be a candidate for a game without everyone had work after So I might be correct here. We could have make ball money work and overtime is a plumber half to the game Also to another thing at the game. I want to this young college girl. I beg come over She's with her dad and she's like oh, I really I was hoping to run into tonight and she come over and honestly guys It almost brought like tears to my eyes like she come over and said like she's in college now And she's in sports media and does podcasts and sports right and said like the the only reason she took this like Lion is her major this career was because of spit and chicklets and she's followed us for years and just the very like very Touching moment. I took a picture a dad took a picture was like she had on my Instagram and just a real real nice kid I and it was just yeah like it said we you know with goofballs We have a lot of fun with this and it's always nice when people come over and and share these experiences and what it's meant to them But this is yeah, it was just really the highlight of my night Obviously like yeah, just for this person to come over and fucking right there and express that so that was good stuff Feel the open-and-night notes ESPN's opening with the Liam Neeson monologue unbelievable. How about that? All with the kids hop in the boards. Yeah, I still can't do it. But either way. I enjoyed the hell out of it Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, exactly buddy. I got those bad boys shot me that we'll get that gets it out later Uh, the tributes to Barry Melrose on ESPN and TNT last night. This great job once again. You guys are awesome per usual So that was good stuff to see for Barry I don't know if you guys saw Logan Thompson's new master wedding crashes one. That was great I think it's got to be the first time Christopher walk and has been on a mass But I do like how he he always has like DC like you know, the Washington DC not known for their their movies I guess but that is a watch it in DC movie. Yeah, that's right pretty good shit there Um, I caught a documentary while since last episode. I was on summit 72 Obviously as a Canadian boy, but you know, there's this 72 summit series Canada versus Russia Uh, they played eight games foreign Russia at foreign fuel the first foreign Canada then they went to Russia Phenomenal man. It's such a great historical document You know, there's the epic, you know, philosposito speech that he gives and kind of rallies the whole country And then they you know, go over to Moscow when three games in a row and Bobby Clark, you know, breaks I think it was Halemov's leg and it's it's a phenomenal documentary. What is that on history? Uh, it's various I would you could probably find though. I don't know. Okay. If you You go to actually great website justwatch.com. You punch in the name of a movie or show it in a tajia where you can find that particular thing you'll look up for. Just watch.com, good stuff there. Also, I wanna talk a sled hockey, you know, during the Paralympics, there are a few retirements. I wanna acknowledge these guys. Jen Lee, he was a goalie. He went four goals in the Paralympics, five world gold medals as well. Kevin McKee was a forward one, four goals as well, six world championships. And Josh Paul, so I've chatted with a little bit over the years, he's the only five time Paralympic gold medalist in sled hockey history. He's won seven goals at the world's two. So just wanna acknowledge those guys. We always acknowledge any child retirement. So I figured these guys are worthy as well. Good stuff there and I'll wait. Did you happen to catch Verly in this last game with the tigers? That was incredible. I mean, just to get his daughter comes out, that's how he's leaving the game. You could tell right away, he saw or broke down. I'm assuming it was a big surprise to him. But I kind of forgot how dominant he was. He was incredible. He also told a cool story that at some point in his career, he realized like I gotta like stop throwing as hard as I can. And it was in like a particular game. He was playing in a game where they had like no bullpen. He's like, I had to get a long outing. And I just started like taking a lot off my fastball and knowing that I'd be able to just turn it up if I had to. And it like changes career in a way where he just started pitching like that, like such good location. And yeah, he was, he was unreal man, unreal player. And he's with Kate Upton. Yeah. Yeah. Two world series. Like how many time he must have been multiple time all star. Yeah. Cy Young's probably started with a big golf with him before. He's a big, big man. Oh, is he? Oh, yeah. Like six five. Yeah, he's a horse. Yeah. He's got that big man, Bumchin. Yeah. Yeah. Thank you. Bumchin. They say about me, man, I'm a dominant, it's a dominant butt chin. It is. And it's called a clip chin. It's grown into it. Yeah. A lot of people, I know they say about baseball, but how can you not be romantic about baseball? And you see that clip, you understand, you know, what is going to come out to. I thought, and then Sherser, Sherser wouldn't leave, right? The Bengal. That was you know, yeah, the manager for Toronto come out and he basically, you know, kind of F you to my, I don't know if he was serious to set the manager back to the, to the Dago, but then you know, he eventually was pulled from the game, got the applause. Then he, you know, jump right into the crowd, see his family. So pretty cool. Send off a couple of legends and made the, the Verlander in the, in the ball pen was pretty ridiculous, too. Like just seeing all the fans surrounding him, getting. Oh my god. He came out. Like that was pretty cool, too. So everything about it. Like I'm not a big baseball guy, but two very, very cool moments. And now we're in the thick of things with the baseball playoffs. We got to see, we got to see the Phillies come back in that game against the Braves. Oh yeah. After Harper, Harper didn't catch that ball. I was like, oh my god. He actually said something cool after really cool, he asked about, yeah, how, like, how do you kind of come back from making a mistake like that that could cost your team the season? He's like, I thought about what I would say to my, my son, if that had happened to him and like, how to approach it. And that was pretty interesting. Never, never heard that. But that was awesome. The Red Sox is just truly pathetic. I think his kid will be good at baseball. I would think based on the fact that Bryce Harper, I think he was in Sports Illustrate. He was like 15 years old, a freak, a couple of time MVP, I believe, but the Red Sox, that was like, that was, that was the biggest joke I've ever seen. They looked like a triple 18, they, I, I tune it out. We got on second base in the second game. We finally got on second base. And just an absolute drumming by the Yankees, don't even have Aaron Judge. I don't even think the Yankees are very good, but that came Slitler guy, but the crazy thing about the Yankees and for people who are into baseball. Isn't he named after Cam Dealy? I possibly, but he, he's from Walpole, Massachusetts. And then their other star Ben Rice is from Cohacet, Massachusetts. They both were Yankees hands growing up to the point where the broadcast is showing Ben Rice. I didn't know one kid who was a Yankees fan growing up. And Ben Rice has pictures as like a five year old in a Yankees uniform. It's like it was just meant to be. And he played hockey and baseball at a local school here in Nobles. Then he went to Dartmouth. He had to be a, I'm sure he was always good, but that's number 22 for the Yankees. The left. I don't know what number he is, but he just said, bombs, he had 41 homers this year. To college baseball, Dartmouth, apparently during COVID, he started his own league. So scouts could come and watch guy. I don't know if it was just it was like a pick up league almost. And that's how he got, he got seen because Dartmouth, I can't imagine, is like ripping out MLB prospects. No, I don't, I, I wouldn't think so. I wouldn't think so. Actually, kid Matt Duffy, that grew up in the house I live in now. He played a Vermont and then he ended up at Tennessee. He played in the majors. That's another school. Vermont, you don't normally plan on playing Major League Baseball, but yeah, the Yankees two best players being from Massachusetts is kind of a kick in the deck, but that slitler is a problem, man. That guy's a, that's a big horse. That's a big horse. Do you think because they're so much younger than us, like all we had growing up was, you know, Bruins, Red Sox, Patriot, you didn't have like the, you know, the NHL Packagers, like these kids are so much younger than us that they had access to watch the Yankees. The Yankees were obviously winning championships. So it's almost now like how kids from everywhere love crossbeer, love, oh, Vetchkin, just because you have more access to watch these players. I don't know. I love the eyes, man. Are you going to roof for anybody? Now the socks are out. Is there in the team? Are you going to, uh, club? No. What about you? No. Roof for, I don't know. I don't want the dodges to it. I wouldn't, I wouldn't mind seeing the, the Brewers win. Yeah. I was thinking of that. But also like the white socks. That was the first, like, I think series that they won, you know, in 20 when he is when they knocked out the Cubs, Cubs, the other night, well, no, the Astros the other night. So I don't know. I like to see you too. He's a little weirdo. I like that guy. I like to see white socks. Cubs go at it. Like it seems silly. Cubs, Cubs, Cubs are done. I have the wind on the, yeah. Oh, I thought the Cubs were a wagon. I think they had a, they had a couple 10 game winning streaks and then they just, they're part of the little bit. I just don't get the best of three. I don't get the hard news in the, that's like, I know they have, but now it's three out of five. And then the, the championship series of B of AL and I was four out of seven world series four out of seven. I don't get why they play the playoffs in October, September, October, like it's freezing cold. Like shorten the season on, I don't know, like where you're playing it and it's, it's ending in September. I make the playoffs. You get the best of three all on the road. It's like, what? Yeah. That, that, I agree with this. Like, I mean, I know the travel, what are you going to do? Go back to one city for game two and then back for a potential third game. But also like, I don't know, man, with white, white, I can't one team get at least one home game. I don't understand that either, but make the best of five, but you just paid 162 games. Give me a best of five for Fox six. Yeah. And there's no way they're going to reduce the schedule. Hey, congrats to my fellow townie here, Maddie Grizzlick on a selection to the BU Athletic Hall of Fame. All right. Time with the Sabers, right? Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah, just another guy from the town was made a lot of us proud and, you know, like, so we've have a great legacy at history, a hockey here in Charleston. So we're always proud of what Grizzly's done, so congrats to Grizzlick. Great family. Yeah. Awesome. Yeah. I mean, the old man still, still over the boat gang, but doing it for like 60 years. Oh, he's retired now. Is it? But his brother's there now. Yeah. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Oh, I didn't. I thought I'd try. I thought the old man was still hanging on. I think he just goes and hangs out sometimes. But I don't think he's doing anything. He's out of that little, that little, like, cubby hole they have had no, sorry, didn't mean to play a secret, guys. All right, boys. Last thing, my classic recommendation for the week, 1998 Rushmore from West Enderson. He, uh, he had the Royal Town Bonds ball rocket. He's had a bunch of movies. This was the second movie he came out with Jason Schwartzman. He plays a kid at like a prep school, falls, falls for one of his teachers, Bill Murray kind of has a little thing going with it too. They have this sort of like little competition going. Awesome. This is sort of the movie that really put West Enderson on the map. I can't believe it's almost frickin 20 is old. I mean, I'm an old bastard. It makes me feel old. The saying that. But awesome movie. Absolutely hilarious. It kind of sort of set the template for the type of movies that he would continue to make till this day. So check that out. If you want to call the gunnery Rushmore. Yeah. Awesome. Like, funny as a bastard. Like I said, it's kind of, he kind of has his own unique style. And that was like sort of the first movie he made that, you know, sort of set that template. Yeah, boy. So hockey, all right. What's on top of the rest of the day for you, say Thursday, I might usually meet up with my dooks. She's usually in the stack of the woods on Thursdays. We go down to Bruis, fork, grab a pizza, grab a little dinner and then yeah, strap on for some hockey. Back to the two TV system here. So yeah, little pox later and that's probably about about it for today. The tan looks great. No, where'd you get that? You go spray tanning? Guy. Come on. No, I don't know. We're okay. Just being outside. Oh, I, I, I took, I took big bros brand, brand my key down. Browie's wedding. Well, he sent me a text last night, go to picture. I guess I got a ticket for high speeden. I guess Rhode Island does those, you know, take a picture. Tickets was just kind of bullshit. I think you should have to be pulled over and for sure, but because it was like, he's like, oh, dude, you got run up to 50, 50, 100 to 20. I was like, oh, bro, it's all right. No, let's, I'm like, where the fuck was there? Where's their 20 mile an hour? I was on it was in so I said to me the whole thing, but it's like pulling up to the wedding when you were late, he's like, my car doesn't even go 51, that bad boy goes, oh, it's funny tooling that guy. It's like, it looks like an old cop car. So when you're in the like the file left lane, oh, people get the fuck out of the way. Oh, wait, man. If you get a fantastic. They think you're a cop. So yeah, I know. Maybe I'll file on appeal. Check look into that. Yeah, I would love to see R.A. and court fighting this thing give it to me now. Well, it's because well, what's weird is they, you know, my brother's name obviously, it's his God, but his name's on the ticket. It's like, but like that's not a, an owner violation, it would be a driver violation. That's where I think there's like a discrep, like, you know, I mean, my brother, I mean, I was driving the car. My brother. I don't even have a driver's license. How can you get me a ticket for speed? I took care of that. You fucking kid me, Irana. I put the sale on the top and we are a buzz and, my sciatic fuck my fucking ex wife, give it to her. We can split it. Fuck. Oh, they're not going to go there. No. All right. Well, you will be back with you Tuesday, can't wait for this weekend. We're back. We're back in the swing. I think, boys, I love you guys very much. I love hockey. Everyone have a phenomenal weekend. Let's go, oilers. I even did you. Let's go, oilers. [Music] [Music]
