In Jesus' name. Cause us to begin on a pedestal that will set us for victory in the year 2026. We pray, Lord. Thank you for hearing us. In Jesus' name. Amen. You're welcome to this morning's breakthrough devotion. I believe that you're already having a good time basking in the presence of God. It's it's such a beautiful song that He stepped down from glory to calvary just for me. You will look around and think that maybe certain others are better stars. But our destiny is more precious. And for His passion, He chose to love us. And I believe that you have started the year with that comfort of the Holy Ghost. This morning, I want to begin a topic. I don't know how long it will last. I want to touch on knowing your spirit. Knowing your spirit. Very important to begin the year knowing your spirit. Share the link right now. Let everybody get connected. Tell somebody to tell somebody that breakthrough devotion is up and man of God, Pastor Obed, is sharing something very beautiful. Knowing your spirit. Knowing your spirit. Is this worth knowing? I didn't say knowing yourself. I said knowing your spirit. Maybe another time we'll talk about knowing yourself. But this morning, we want to look at that advantage we have once we know our spirit. In 1 Corinthians chapter 2, the verse from my 11, the Bible says, for what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him. Even so, the things of God knoweth no man, but the spirit of God. When you know your spirit, you will also be able to know the things that concern you as a man. The greatest point of knowing without any shadow of doubt is in your spirit. For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him. So your soul does not even know as much. The total knowledge about you is embedded in your spirit. In your spirit that carries the capacity to know you and to know the things about you. You may think in your mind that you know yourself, but I want you to know that you don't know yourself as you ought to know. David says the heart of man is deceitful. So even if you think that you know the things of a man, you don't know the things of a man. You don't know the things of a man. You know yourself. It is your spirit that can communicate without any marginal error for you to know your spirit. Knowing your spirit. And that same principle applies to God. Even so, the things of God, nowhere, no man, but the spirit of God. So, without the spirit of God, we cannot know the things of God. When we go to the verse 12 of 1 Corinthians 2.11, it says, now we have received not the spirits of the world, because if you have the spirit of the world, you would also know the things of the world. But we have received the spirit which is of God that we may or we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Do you know that though your spirit knows the things about you, your spirit must make a diligent search. That is how come your spirit is very cardinal. Your spirit does not just make a search, but he does this search about you diligently. The Bible says, I call to remembrance my song in the night. I commune with my own heart and my spirit made a diligent search. The heavens for height and the earth for death. The heavens are for height and the earth is for death. Look at how high the heavens are. And look at how deep the earth can be. But the heart of kings is unsearchable. You cannot know the extent of your heart by yourself unless your spirit does this diligent search. Search. Knowing your spirit and knowing the things about you. There is a character of the spirit. Once it's a spirit, its character is to search. Once the being was dealing with a spirit, there is the character curiosity within your spirit to know all things. So, whenever you realize that you have this urge to want to search, to know, it is your spirit that is creating that demand because the spirit searches. The Bible says, and he that searches the hearts, he knoweth what is the mind of the spirit because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God. And then when we read 1 Corinthians 2 verse 10, before 11, the word of God says, but God hath revealed them unto us by his spirit. For the spirit searched all things, yea, to the depths of God, the deep things. of God, not the shallow things of God. The spirit is not satiated being shallow. We are going to be looking at the parameter of our spirits. Once you like being shallow, then you should know that you are not living from your spirit. You are living from your mind. Every spirit-minded person wants to go deep in the things of God. Somebody will tell you that. There is no point being deep. Please, that's the mind talking. Even with Satan, there are depths of Satan. And, you see, there is God, there is the devil, and there is you. If you don't want to be deep, it is your mind talking. Because even if you were an agent of Satan, you would want to go deep. The Bible says, "But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as not have this need, will not be able to go deep." The Bible says, "But unto you I say, and unto the rest in Thyatira, as many as not have this need, will not be able to go deep." doctrine and which have not known the depths of satan as they speak i will put upon you none other but can read this in niv and in a message by revelation chapter 2 the verse 24 he said now i said to the rest of you in theater so you do not hold to her teaching and have not learned satan's so-called deep secrets so even satan has deep secrets deep satan has steps god has depths why do you want to be shallow you are living a life of your own you're not even satan doesn't even like you because you don't want to go deep the bible says deep collect onto deep the more you go deeper the deeper you want to go deeper when you begin to swing in the revelation of god and in the knowing of the things about you if you are ankle deep you want to go knee deep if you are knee deep you want to go waist deep if you are waist deep you want to go chest deep there is no arrival in god because god is as unsearchable as your heart deep call it to deep the word of god says in the book of proverbs chapter 20 the verse 27 day i i i told you already that your spirit as an organ of your being has a character and this character is to search not shallow things but the deep things so the spirit of man is the candle of the lord searching the spirit is always searching all the inward parts of the belly all it is never satisfied its residence in your belly is not to sit at one place coagulated broken no once your spirit is broken you realize that you have no edge for the depths of god and when your spirit is broken you can't bear the bible says a broken spirit who can bear why do you carry a broken spirit and you are unusual who can bait there is a capacity in you to go deep with god there is a capacity in you to go deep with yourself there is a capacity in you to go deep into all the inward parts of your belly that comes about because you are a broken spirit about because of the searching spirit the spirit of a man will sustain his infirmity but a wounded spirit who can bear let's read that in the niv proverbs 18 the verse 14. a man's spirit sustains him in sickness but a crashed spirit who can bear knowing your spirit please get this once you are beginning to see certain signs around you you should know that there's something wrong with your spirit the spirit can be weak and the spirit can be strong the spirit of a man within him can become weak at times knowing your spirit and the spirit of man within him can become strong at times the word of god says that one of the first signs of a weak spirit is being slain when you begin to lose weight to the extent that your bones begin to show you should know that your spirit is becoming weak somebody says that doesn't mean that all slim people have weak spirits no but there is what is referred to as the drying of the bones why because the spirit himself when you read the book of hebrews he says the word of god it's quick it's active it's sharp to the dividing now watch this of spirits from soul then he goes on to say marrow from the bones for the word of god is quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirits of the joints and marrow and is a designer of the thoughts and the intents of the hearts now please get this let's read this in the niv so that i can bring that distinction very well he's actually talking about the same thing he said for the word of god is living and active sharper than any double-edged sword it penetrates even to divide soul and spirit joints and marrow thoughts and attitudes of the heart so under the soul we have joints and we have thoughts under the spirit we have marrow and we have the intents of the heart the spirit of a man actually runs from the belly and goes through its locomotive path through the body to the body of the spirit of the soul so under the soul we have joints and we have thoughts under the spirit we have marrow and we have the intents of the heart of the body by reason of the bone marrow the flow of the spirit's work within your body is inside the bone marrow inside the marrow so when your spirit is crushed the bone maybe we will just need some medical scientists to explain this to us it's fed and made fresh by the marrow within the bones inside the bone is the bone marrow so that bone marrow is what feeds the bone when your spirit is crushed the bone begins to respond and then your bone begins to dry up it with this a weighted spirit Because the word of God actually tells us that When your spirit is strong It is like a city that is walled In Proverbs 25 the verse 28 He now says When your spirit is strong When a man lacks That energetic spirit He is like a city Whose walls are broken down He that hath no rule Over his own spirit Is like a city That is broken down Without walls It is your responsibility To charge your spirit To rule your spirit To make your spirit Take on the component of strength Oh It's not my fault That my spirit is weak Yes Because you are not ruling it If you allow the spirit To have its way Anything passing left, right and center Can hit you Can you imagine That there are seven people Walking through a particular path Something is coming At those seven people And it landed on you Why? Because of the seven Your spirit is weak Because he that hath no rule Over his own spirit Is like a city That is broken down And without walls So a strong spirit Is actually A city with high walls The Bible says that You are a city Set on a hill So the spirit man Is like a city And when your spirit Gets strong The walls are fortified That is how come You cannot go through Ten years Always sick Don't agree to the fact That you are a sickler Don't take that Don't You are not a sickler The strength Is to rule your spirit Get up from the place Where you have been branded A sickler And let me tell you Life is not To be lived From genotypes Life is to be lived From the spirit For in the spirit of life For the spirit is of life The spirit is of life In Romans chapter 8 The Bible says that There is therefore now No condemnation To them Which are in Christ Jesus Who live In the verse 1 And walk Not after the flesh But after the spirit For now The life Of the spirit of Christ Has made me free Of course From the law of sin and death And if the spirit That resurrected Christ From the dead Lives and abides In the spirit of life BITING YOU, HE SHALL BITE THAT SAME SPIRIT. WHAT WOULD HE DO? your mortality so the spirit is supposed to quicken a quickening spirit another character that lets you know the problem in your spirit is anger anger when you are constantly falling sick there's something seriously wrong with your spirit when you easily get angry everybody gets angry of course the Bible says be angry so don't don't pleasure yourself in the fact that you don't get angry some people think that there is a spirituality about not being angry no you must be angry when you are angry express it the Bible says be angry it is a command to be angry if you don't get angry you are not fulfilling the word of the Lord oh me I don't get angry something is wrong with your spirit you you must be angry be angry it's a command like be holy you must be angry when things are not going the way they are express your anger by hear this don't have our best of anger our best of wrath no your anger must be slow you hit it up then you hit then you hit ebo eke kaba then you hit people must not be able to tell that you're about to be angry be very slow when it comes to your anger he said don't sin because when you have abrupt anger you will act without thinking the Bible says God himself he's slow to anger the Lord is merciful and gracious slow to anger and plenteous in mercy God gets angry the Bible says the anger of the Lord fell on them so God himself he has a character of being angry the Bible says therefore my beloved brethren let every man be sweet to hear slow to speak and slow to wrath look at Proverbs 16 the verse 32 Proverbs 16 the verse 32 he that is slow to anger he is better so people can be better than others and they can be better than others and they can be better than others he's better than the mighty semicolon and he that ruled his spirit than he that take care the city ruling your spirit stop sicknesses and diseases and also manages your emotions knowing your spirit knowing your spirit what kind of a spirit do you carry knowing your spirits constantly falling sick question mark apart from that being quick to get angry question mark because the anger of man that does not work the righteousness of God once you get angry you'll miss God ensure that your wrath comes slowly slow to wrath whenever you see somebody who has abrupt anger the person needs spiritual medication there's something wrong with your spirit you need to fix it and today I'll show you how to fix it you are constantly getting sick you need to fix it the problem is not you see that you were quick to get angry is not what stirred the anger or instigated the anger it is a response of your spirit so you may also look at it in the light of oh it was because I drank poison or I ate something infected or the mosquitoes bit me friend you can carry this mosquitoes bite you they must come in certain loads of parasitic load before you break out and you can flush them out when your spirit is strong and health defines the state of your spirit the vitality of your bones do you easily get tired defines the state of your spirit do you quickly get angry it defines the state of your spirit now there is a third a fourth element actually sorry a fourth element the being called prayer is he with you or far from you it defines the state of your spirit some people think that they are the ones who pray no there is a being called prayer how close or how far he is from you defines the quality of your spirit in the book of psalm the chapter 35 the verse 13 hear what david said he said but as for me when they were sick my clothing was sackcloth i humbled my soul with fasting and my prayer retained into my own bosom my prayer retained there are times your prayer is gone and your prayer must retain he is not talking about the fact that you are just making empty statements that were not going anywhere no there is a being called prayer when your spirit begins to get weak he goes far from you that is how some people will refer to their prayer life when that being is close to you he strengthens you in prayer the angel of prayer he is the angel of prayer the angel in charge of your incense when you pray because prayer ascends before god as incense and the priestly angel receives your prayer and sends it before god according to the revelation of jesus this priestly angel is called prayer he is actually your intercessor he is the one that brings the spirit of intercession he is called prayer and the smoke of the incense which came with the prayers of the sins ascended up before god out of the angel's hand so there is an angel called prayer once he gets close to you you have this urge to pray because he's there on demand he is the one that brings the spirit of intercession and when you are not praying and you are not using him you make him defunct and his works now begin to go shallow shallow shallow shallow shallow then you realize that your spirit also begins to grow weaker and weaker and weaker now what is the bible says concerning jesus he made a statement in the garden of gethsemane he took peter james and john into the garden and that they were supposed to pray jesus went forward a bit and alone and prayed for an hour when he came back they were sleeping the first sign that your spirit is weak when you sleep during prayer prayer sleeping during prayer Prayer is a sign that your spirit is weak. I didn't say falling into a trance. Because the way you fall into a trance is just like the way you doze off when you're about to sleep. So what is the difference? When you are in prayer and you are dozing off and you are seeing things like in a dream. And yet you are conscious of your environment. You are falling into a trance. Your spirit is strong. But when you are in prayer and you doze off and snore. Please, please, please don't say trance. There is no snoring in trance. How do you know your spirit is weak? Please take this sense up. We are starting the year. There are some things you need to attend to. So that you can manage the demands of the year. If you realize that you are constantly sleeping, sleeping, sleeping, sleeping. And you say, oh, I'm bone tired. Yes, remember that we started from there. When you are born. You are bone tired. You are easily bone tired. You have a weak spirit. Your spirit is growing weak. Now, there are dangers of having a weak spirit. I'll come to that. I'm not touching on that today. Remember that when your spirit is weak. One, you will easily fall sick. So that becomes a red flag. When your spirit is weak, you can easily die. Easily. The least thing, you will die. Why? Because you are a city without walls. It is dangerous to have a weak spirit. Know your spirit. And when I say know your spirit. It simply means be able to tell the barometer of your current state. I'm not saying that your spirit man is not like it's always in that ascended place. Your spirit man is like the way, it's like this phone. It can be charged to have battery power. And it can also be used to the extent that it now has low battery. That is how your spirit is. So everybody at a point in time can have a weak spirit. But there are some people, they stay on the character of the weak spirit. You know, that weak spirit becomes their nature. So I'm giving you pointers that will let you know and that knows that your spirit is weak. When you sleep during prayer, you have a weak spirit. There is no beating around the bush. When you are constantly falling sick, you have a weak spirit. When your bones are always tired, you have a weak spirit. Now, let's deal with the next one. And he commented on to the disciples and finding them asleep and said unto Peter, What? He was, what? Did I say what? What? What? Could you not watch with me one hour? What? So now watch this. If you can't stay in prayer for one hour, that is the least. You have a weak spirit, one hour. You can't pray for one hour. What? What? You are a man of God. What? Just saying what? What kind of man of God is that? What? So you can just measure it for yourself. How long are you able to stay in prayer? Remember, and my prayer returned to me. So when the prayer angel is far from you, you realize that prayer becomes laborious. Now watch this. So Jesus prayed for one hour. He came back, prayed for another hour. And the Bible says, and the angel of the Lord strengthened him. The angel of prayer strengthened him. That's how come there are some times you realize that when you pray long, when you come out, you feel like you're a giant. My friend, you are not a giant. You are still here. It was just an angelic being that was supplying the energy, the life energy to make your spirit strong. And when your spirit is strong, you feel that just in your bones. Because your bones are stirred up. The Bible says, and the angel of the Lord strengthened him. And they appeared, Luke 22, let's start from the verse 41 to the verse 44 or 43. And he was withdrawn from them about a stone's cast and kneeled down and prayed. He wanted to be alone. Saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but thine, be done. 43. And there appeared an angel unto him from heaven, strengthening him. This angel is called prayer. When your prayer retains to you. So, another way by which you are able to know that your spirit's barometer or your spirit, we are talking about knowing your spirit. Your spirit is losing its vitality and strength. It's when now you cannot push to the limits you were able to push in prayer. Then you should know that something is wrong with your spirit. So, the angel of the Lord strengthened him. Now, the moment the angel came, he started off praying. Look at verse 42. See verse 42. He said, so, Father, if thou be willing, you realize that you are praying. Remove this cup from me. So, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me. If thou be willing, remove this cup from me. Not my will, but thine, be done. So, Father, he was saying this. Then an angel came. The moment the angel strengthened him, the Bible said, and there appeared an angel unto him, strengthening him. Look at verse 44. And being in agony. When was the last time you cried in prayer? Something is wrong with your spirit. When was the last time you agonized in prayer? You have been praying for the past two years. You have never shed one tear in prayer. You have never come to the place where your emotions have taken over you. You are praying. And you always see people, you are praying, and there are no emotions. No, no, no. When I pray, I just. When was the last time when you were praying, you felt an emotion? And you felt the spirit jerking you up? Friend, it's a quality of your spirit. If you're always doing cold, there's something wrong. Are we saying that you have to talk loud? No, you already know. I've taught you that already on this platform. It is not in how loud you cry. It's not in how loud you scream. But then there is an emotion. The Bible says the earnest prayer, the heartfelt prayer, the prayer that has you. The prayer that has your heart, that has your emotions in them. Do you always talk cold? No. There are times you express emotions. You show seriousness. You show dedication to what you're doing. The Bible says the moment the angel strengthened him, Jesus' prayer, and being in agony, he prayed more earnestly. Between Lord, let your will be done. And the more earnest prayer was the prayer angel. Just like David said. The next quality. When you are always entering temptation, you have a weak spirit. He said unto them, why sleepy? Rise and pray, lest you enter into temptation. We have a weak spirit. We have not said you have fallen into temptation. You are entering temptation. What you don't like is what is coming to you always. You are always entering temptation. Do you know that because you are not praying, you will always enter temptation? Let us pray. Our Father, who art in heaven, Hello. thy name thy kingdom come thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven come on talk to me lead us not into what temptation we are not saying falling into temptation you are always the one around temptation whenever there is something bad you are there you have a weak spirit anything bad that happens in any environment you are part of it whether it's gossip when you are there you have a weak spirit you have to attend to it please make no jokes about this do you realize that in your home actually please in your community anything bad though you didn't partake you will always be associated with it in a way you have a weak spirit once you are numbered amongst the people you have a weak spirit once you are numbered amongst the arena of temptation you have entered into temptation nobody said you are falling into temptation lead us not into temptation pray so that you don't enter into temptation don't enter you are the one always seeing the bad things you don't want to do you can you imagine you are the one always seeing the bad things you don't want to do in cci he says calibrate my spirits can you do that song for me calibrate my spirit it's important to know your spirit's metrics the bible says grow in grace grow in grace so whatever measure of grace you are you can grow in that grace he said he was strong in spirit he was strong in spirit the grace of god was upon him the grace of god was upon him you must know your spirit at the start of the year are you sitting in prayer what else is time to pray that is when you begin to yawn there's something practically wrong with your spirit where has your prayer gone to the prayer angel is so far from you you don't even have the desire to pray you don't even have the yearning to pray you don't even have that desire to pray you don't even have the courage to stand long in prayer calibrate my spirit reveal me to me show me who i am in the mirror of your words calibrate my spirit reveal me to me show me who i am in the mirror of your words calibrate my spirit reveal me to me show me who i am in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words calibrate my spirit reveal me to me show me who i am in the mirror of your words in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words show me who i am in the mirror of your words ♪ In the mirror of your word. ♪ I delight to be just as you. I want you to help me. I want you to stick and stay through this series. It's going to be a wonderful time. Are you falling sick always? Spirit is weak. Are you making costly mistakes always? Spirit is weak. Are you always in the arena of temptation? Even though you don't do it, spirit is weak. Are you finding it difficult to stay in prayer? Spirit is weak. Are you yawning in prayer? Spirit is weak. Are you dozing off in prayer? Spirit is weak. Are you sleeping? Are you sleeping? Spirit is weak. Do you even do less or more than an hour? Usually, spirit is weak. Do you go through a month not doing an hour prayer? Your spirit is weak. It's not normal, brother. The spirit can be sick. Are you losing weight without cause? The spirit is weak. Because a weak spirit dries up the bones. There is so much more I want to be sharing with you. Signs that you are beginning to dwindle in your spirit.
