We've got specs across four states, Flemington, Royal Randwick, over there at Moorfield. As always, and it's Ipswich Cup Day. We might even hit the Queensland and go a little bit on the, hold Hamster Wheel up there at Ipswich for their Cup Day. We've also got the Salton Sapper and Pac-Yanag's Nick Fooots. My name, the Gibra is this man's name as a welcome in Saltsy, one straight off the top between the eyes for you mate. How you doing? >> Yeah, go on well mate. Look, it's been a big week at two units HQ hasn't it? And I think I can say, I can finally really empathize with you and what it's like to have your name dragged through the medium later. I really like in our two experiences. You front page, back page of all the papers. I made page four the Roval Times. So yeah, it's going our Roval Lakes and trending at the store at the moment. Oh, wait till you lose your job as well mate. Then you can have the whole hog on top of that. Hey, just on that though. It's been a strange old week in racing media like, I mean, I feel fairly qualified to speak to a place of criticism because outside of being Jacinda Allen or Anthony Albanese, in terms of the role I have in my other profession. But he fairly criticized every bloody day. And it's just a matter of bunkering down and worrying about what you're doing on the field. But not in this sport, Salty, not in racing. We handle it a little bit differently. And I think Ben Asgari put it pretty well on SE&TRAC that we can be a bit delicate. >> Yeah, perhaps so. Look, on reflection of my analysis, it was just that. If anything, I don't think it could have been delivered any more respectfully really. For every hundred positive things I've said about Marks are so far in my career. I just highlighted some statistics spoke about backing, what goes into me framing a market and how, when I bet into a market, I need to find better the market price to bet. And there's a few things that go into that current jockey form. He's one of those of many as well. So look, it certainly wasn't personal. But not the intention. And I think from the outside looking in, that's not how it looks. It was just some analysis. And at the end of the day, that's my job to analyze races and performance before and after. So I don't think it's something that I need to stop doing it. I certainly haven't made a judgment decision to be like a cane corn to the media or something like that. You see the two units, we're positive dudes. We're all about pumping up the industry. It was just an observation of some objective data that I pointed out. And I think really at the end of the day, the response was probably not quite in line with what the analysis was. Yeah. And I think on that sales too, like Mark is absolutely free to defend himself. Like when I probably was a little bit off with my point in terms of just let your actions do the talking. That's certainly one way of doing it. And he did that to some effect like he wrote a couple of winners on the weekend. And I don't think you need to be puffing your chest out after that, particularly when it's taken three weeks after the broadcast to do that. So I think he's free to absolutely defend himself and have a voice and we want that. But I'm not sure if it's the way to go about it in terms of how he did it, making it probably a little bit more personal than it needed to be. Like if you had a differing point of view that perhaps focused on, you know, challenging the data than so be it. Yeah, absolutely. I agree with your point. People in sport, they're free to defend themselves. They're free to celebrate success. But it probably crossed the line into making it a bit personal. You know, the X's across the screen, the Gibara, the Joker. You know, it came across as a little bit of an attempt to belittle and embarrass me. But that was the way the response went about it. There's nothing I can do about that. Just continue doing what I've been doing, mate. Dave Usis was on Gideyup on Wednesday and he sent me touch on the issue with Gareth as well. And he spoke about how they actually, the landscape in Hong Kong is a lot different to Australia. And he actually likes it. It's refreshing. He says they get criticised in the media over there. They get criticised in the paper. But he's fine with that because it's based on results. And at the end of the day, that sport, you know, if Mattie John goes on a show and says, oh, the hammer this time last year had scored 20 tries. But at the same point, this year he's only scored eight. I want a bigger price to back him in trisks or markets. Well, I don't think anyone but an eyelid. Yeah. It's not just about market though. This is a broader issue in racing. I sort of alluded to this in my post the other day on the Instagrams. But like, I just feel like I'm so far behind it in racing. And like in other sports, they literally, they're entire conversations are driven by criticism. And it can actually think it can cross the line in other sports sometimes and get a touch personal. But I don't think we do that in racing at all. Like, this sort of example is only going to deter other people in the media from actually speaking up and having an opinion and creating some quality discourse around racing. And it just pisses me off. Well, I think the only people having an opinion on what actually took place are also outside the racing bubble as well that there are other punters. So that's further highlight at that point. People sort of aren't willing to comment on it. But it's in it's a bit of light drizzle in a tea cup. I would have thought so. I think we all move on with things. The units keep doing what they're doing and promoting racing. This fresh, delicious, tasty, meaty, turkey filled, cold-cut combo. And a good little bit of banter on the mics between Pundit and Jockey. There has. And I very much enjoyed this because Matt Chapman, who we know, he's quite divisive. And he often stirs people up in Australia, but also as well. He stirs people up. He stirs the pot. That's the saying, isn't it? He's a potter. And it makes it all the way over here. And it actually drives engagement. So there's a thought as well. But he interviewed James McDonald, prior to riding in one of the races on day one of the Ascot Carnival, a horse map of stars for Francis Henry Grafard. And Matt Chapman went up to him pre-race and he told him something about tactics. J-Mac, Matt said to J-Mac and J-Mac responded with, well, how many winners have you written? As J-Mac sort of looked like he wanted to give him a bit of a clip. The funny thing was, Matt Chapman told J-Mac to ride this thing cold and cover him up for as long as possible because he's got a big booming turn of foot if that happens. And then James covered him up for as long as possible and unleashed him. And the horse absolutely stomped them. I thought it was outstanding that the advice he gave was actually the right way to ride the horse. James did it. He was obviously going to do it anyway because he's the best jock in the world and he does his homework. But I thought that was good. And he posted a nice photo of J-Mac weighing in with a bit of a cheeky grin on his face. Yeah, quality by play. Absolutely. Hey, I've got World Cup favor at the moment, so I don't know about you. But I am fully invested. Like when I'm tuning in pretty much to every game at the moment, when you're sitting here watching Garna vs Panama on your Thursday morning, you know you're into it. That's good timing for us isn't it? Great. This could be the best. Well, I'm going to call it. This could be the best World Cup ever. Are you getting the red eye? When are you flying back from Perth? Yeah, tomorrow morning first. So you'll be up Saturday morning? Yeah, definitely. I've only got sort of got to get up an hour and a half earlier than I do get up on Saturday. So I'll be getting up. And I predicted the Argentine to be the highest ranked team to go home early because I thought, well, Messi's playing in the US and he might be passed at Nysquadahatric. (laughing) - Speaking of fans, I love just seeing all the different types of ways that each culture like celebrates and gets around their country. Like the English fans just absolutely wild, four, two over Croatia. If they win the whole thing, like, I mean, I know we generally hate the palms here, particularly in the cricket salts. Like when it comes to the ashes, you and I are forever piling on. But there's something else with the world game where I kind of want to see him do it. - They're good for the sport, but I just can't have the same people that want England to win the cricket also want them to win the soccer. - No, I get it. - Yeah, it doesn't suit well with me. It does sit funny with me, but there's part of me that wants them to go all the way and there's part of me that wants them to not make a past the group stage. So it's a bit of a conflict, that one. One of the fan bases though, our man, the big baby jet, Erling Harlan, who's just absolute unstoppable. - Oh, we still found some sort of futures market when we were watching him in, was it the Bundesliga? - You and I were watching him in the Bundesliga during a COVID lockdown. And having your emotions toyed with this punter, making having thought you've lost and then thought you've won and then realize you've lost, I think that that's as bad as it gets. - It's a strange thing in racing, isn't it? Because I know exactly that feeling and you get really mad at the caller or the broadcaster, but in reality they have absolutely no influence on what's just occurred on the track. Like you know what I mean? Let people go, oh, he's just the worst ever. He needs to let people just want to pile on to a race caller if they get one wrong in the final stage and get a ball wrong. Racing at headquarters at a nice competitive car there will duck across the border to Morphville. Head to Roundwick as well. There's a couple of stakes races on the program, as well as a hit and run for the Ips, which cup or start at Flemington Salt's is it going to be wet in Melbourne? - It is, mate. It's a soft seven. Later on Thursday, there's up with the seven mils and showers around Friday, but the key thing is there's two to 10 mils race day morning. So they're setting up for a heavy track there at Flemington. I think with the rail out, they're going to be off the fence, just like they were with the rail out and heavy last meeting, but the winds aren't going to have an impact. They're nice and light. - Okay, and we'll start in race two salt's. This is the Ken Cox handicap. It's for the three-year-olds. It's over 2,000 meters. You and I are kick starting the program by going head to head here. - We are. I'm with Think You're Amazing. A topic for packing our eggs is there's no apostrophe RE. So it's grammatically incorrect. I don't know, down the line of breeding, how that works or whatever, but I don't really appreciate that. But the horse was very good last start at Flemington three year old Raysy Rand third. He was like six weeks between runs going to a heavy track 2,000 meters. Now Matt Kamani is a gun trainer at having horses have space runs to staying trips, whatever or horses that are first up off long spells. He is a gun at getting them fit and ready so it wasn't like it wasn't to be expected but I still think the horse can improve off that and he was also held up in that lead in race. He was on the heels of the stable mate Brave Danza who sort of just got going to his outside and he just got shuffled back and couldn't build momentum at a key stage of the race but he's coming through a race with plenty of runners. He beat them all home and actually should have finished a bit closer so fit in our mind area for hopefully early in the day he can settle a little bit closer. The vises come off. I think you'll be running a nice race for me. He's a nice price. $14 around $380 to place if you want to play each way in the second. I'm with the favourite in his sales. I'm siding with Decalogue. He's just in a real purple patch of form at the moment. He's had two on the bounce, Newcastle and Rammwick. He does switch states but he certainly loves getting the toe in and as you've suggested the who will have those conditions to suit and what a like about James Johnson hopping on here for Cure and Mar is it's a combo that you want to get around when they combine. So train a jockey striking at 27.6% with a profit on turnover of 55%. It's probably going to need that to back that up with the awkward alley and we'll need some luck in the early stages but he's absolutely flying at the moment and if he can hold his form I think he wins this Decalogue. So I've got him on top in race number two. He's seven from his last 15 James Johnson and that Decalogue I backed him last start. He got a ride from Chad Scofield because they weren't going that hard and then he took off early. He wants this to be a test. So a bit of speed in the race would help his chances. Let's get to race four on the program. This one's a three-old handicap. We get to have a look down the I did or did all there the 1100 metres salts and you're siding with, oh this is race four. Sorry, did I say race three? No, you said race four. Okay, you're siding with one for the MacaVoys here in Prestar. I am. Ice-cooled David Fife was on radio this morning. They're probably going to stay in Sydney. He wants to come to Melbourne but he doesn't want to run on a really wet track and that's what it's going to be. So that'll be risky to float him down when it's going to be a heavy-tracking Melbourne and it's a beautifully improving conditions in Sydney. So I school is going to come out and that's going to take a pretty big deduction but I still want to be with Priestar who's on the third line of betting behind Choir Point because first up under a big weight on the Heath track as a gilding. He was caught while he was a bit keen but he stuck on really well and looking back through his past form, he is a wet track. He's two for two on heavy tracks. I think the straight track at Flemington on Saturday is no doubt going to play middle to outside so he's drawn that right part of the track and he drops seven kilos and is back to 1100 metres which I reckon is a bit more suitable too so he can use his acceleration with that drop in weight and I expect him to be pretty hard to hold out on that outside section of the track. Yep, Prestar at around $10 expecting perhaps a little bit of shortening there if the likes of Ice Cool comes out. I hope Ice Cool does stay in Sydney. It's a little 95 in both races too so very well supported by punters and in both of those affairs there, Salty but Ice Cool likely off to Sydney. What about race five? This is a benchmark 84. This is over the 1420. I thought this race was a little bit of a dog's breakfast. I thought there was a few winning chances here and you've somewhat agreed with him because you've got to you've come in with the spork. You've come in with the three pronged approach. Well, don't get me started on sporks and sprains. Don't get me started. They're the best. They're the only thing I eat with. I've actually got that up my sleeve for another day mate. So tuning in if you want some real high quality stuff. I've got one spork at my house and it was left over by the Salty. Are you serious? Yeah, there's one in my top drawer. Is it silver? I'm going to get that black most cutlery. Yes. Yeah, well, there can be. So I've got some black cutlery. But we don't. I would like that back because that's part of a set. Thanks mate. No worries. Yeah, I'm going on the three pronged attack which is 10 commandments. 10 commandments. This horse had its first run for Kirimah last start at Sandown on a soft seven track and he just completely belted them and he went to the paddock for the old camp, belting them on a wet track at warnable. But the number he run last start and he could have won by further. He was switched off late. He gets four and a half kilos off his back and at four dollars, we can stake this race to make him a result and make a couple of ruffies a result as well. One of those jabs and jabs and mark combination that are quite earlier as well. So one of the ruffies is make it sweet. Just needs one to come out to get a run. Love to the return at Swan Hill in a sprinters race against some hard fit sprinters. She was only beaten by Cargain Chia. She got back. She ran the fastest everything of the day. She handles wet tracks. She's got a great second up record, a great record at the trip and second up last preparation. She's only beaten by Mary Gold at Flemington and beat some Jimmy the Bear. That's a good form for a race like this. I think this is a nice mayor and the market's missed her. So you can take 27 bucks with some corpse. I'd be taking that. Considering only one horse somewhat in the market in Rosa Atheroa $13 is an emergency. So I can't see, if the emergency's don't get a run, there's not going to be that big a deduction. So take that price. And the other one is Kamachi. This horse comes to a race that was won by Lingani at Morphville last start. The one where I wanted to follow Metricle where Jenny from the block led and knocked up a bit. Lingani four starts back, ran in an Adelaide cup. No, sorry, not Lingani, but Lingani long. Kamachi four starts back, ran in an Adelaide cup. And then last start over 1250 meters was climbing over hills, wound up like a coil. Like what the hell's the go with that? And then a trial between runs over 1,000 meters. He was sharp as well and he draws a nice sort of middle to outside, barrier handles, wet tracks, the rising distance suits. They're booked holy, durn in here. And in a 1200 meter race at Morphville on Saturday, he doesn't have a jockey notified. So I'd like to think they're coming to Victoria. 41 bucks you can get for here. 41 is a big price about Kamachi. So the three that play, which I'll just repeat there for stocks in the fifth, is 10 commandments, who's around that four dollar price. You've got the likes of make it sweet at around 30 bucks. Some places you can get make it sweet, who's currently first emergency. And then also Kamachi there with holy burn and durn in the saddle at around 41 bucks. Let's move on to the sixth. Now this is a filly's a mess. Benchmark 90. This is also over the 1420 runner here. So it's or the Lindsay Park team Jackson, Radley Steeze is stylish, eight dollar chance and your keen to get involved. I am. I like what she did first up. Now I preface all this analysis by saying I think first chorus is the best mayor in this race. She's a dynamic wet tracker with the turn of foot. I've got a lot of time for her, but she was scratched two weeks ago on a quick backup because of a foot abscess. And then she was scratched last week after acceptances because she just wasn't quite there because of the foot abscess. So you know, back in distance, she's had a bit of an issue. If she wins, the best horse has won the race, but as favorite with that issue, I can look around her and stylish looks pretty obvious. The return of Flamington was very good. Got back in a slow run race. You know, back off the speed anyway, not not right back, but it was a dash home and her sectional was home were quite good. That was on a heavy track. Second up with the claim again, drops five kilos from last start. So for a man that's got a bit of a turn of foot, she's going to be a lot fitter second up and she's got that weight off her back to help her extend. I'm pretty sure Dutchers is going to scratch if she hasn't already, but she's meeting her four and a half kegs off better at the weights and Miss Aria also four kilos better off at the weights as well through the same race. Yep, so stylish there in the seventh. That's a race six number six stylish. We'll move on to race number seven on the program. Now this is the Brian Beaty. This is also straight down the I did all 1100 meters. It's a quality handicap. We are both going to be siding with Lusom win more here, Salts, who was pretty impressive. Last start, it has to be said, winning down the straight. I mean, looks to get a pretty similar set up again and it's gone up a pretty nice price. He did. He went up six bucks. They took some deductions out for bustling alecting to go to Sydney 13 cents. but still now as a 4.25, you got a little bit of oversight if you took that early price, but I still think 4.20 is fair and reasonable. I think he's more like a $3.50 chance. He's one of his last three down the Flemington straight, either 2 of them 11, one of them at 12. Granted they were on good tracks, but he has one at Flemington in the past, early in his career on a soft 7 track down the straight. So he's just a straight track specialist with a booming turn of foot. But like the what he did to them last up from the 4.2, it was destructive. He pulled up blame first up at Morphockville, so there were obviously some excuses disappointed that we sort of factor it didn't factor in those excuses to each straight track record and find him at 17 bucks, because hindsight says that most people and the market got that wrong. But this guy, he's only 6 years old and he's had 14 starts and he's won 7 of them. If he wins on Saturday, he's literally lose some win more. And I think he can. Yeah, absolutely. His record is actually quite phenomenal when you look through in terms of like he's 5 from 7 at the track, he's 3 from 4 track in distance. He's building some sort of record. But like he nod or actually this is the first time he'll step on board. And he draws out lovely outside Barry, like whether he can win a new market or not, but he would be a horse that they will definitely be trying to, you know, forecasting for what 10 months time or whatever it is. Yeah, absolutely. Yeah, absolutely. I also want to expect the old boy in this race as well in Dragonstone. His run in the Bob Charlie was very good first up. He set up on speed. It was a moderately run race and I think fitness just told late, but he'll be improved second up and he thrives with giving the ground. He does have to carry the big weight, but Joe Pride is outstanding at placing his horses when he switches states. And yeah, I think Dragonstone is around that $20 quote is worth having something small on because he's certainly under the winning standard of this race on several occasions. So I'll have something small on Dragonstone and also lose some win more with you, Celtsy in the Brian BT. Let's get to race eight now. This is the David Burke. This is over 1620. We are also combining once more here, Celtsy with punch lane who is a horse that's proven on the on the quick backup on the seven day backup in the past. And I thought he was pretty good last week at sand down 1400 meters and will be all the better for that run. It certainly wasn't a gut bust up, but the seven day backup on a proven recipe for him looks to go. You're not wrong. That last time he backed up seven days, he went 14 to 1500 meters. He went to the front and he just stomped them in a very similar type of race at Randwick too. So now he's fourth up. He comes to a race last start at sand down when it was just a very difficult data lead and when there was that very strong headwind down the back and pretty much no leaders were winning and he was sort of in the wrong part of the track too. So the job was holding on to him for a long time and he was traveling quite well, but when he was asked for a supreme effort from Tommy Stockdale, he just sort of felt the pinch a bit late. Now Luke Cartwright, who's good on front runners on pace horses, he takes a killer on a half off. This is pretty even race at seven bucks and what yours for theirs to place. I think that's the way to play the race. You know, Alduca, he comes up favorite and you know he's one of mine, but yeah, this is a terrible setup. He hasn't raced since the second of May. He's straight to 16, whereas when he was first up at the start of this preparation, he had to run at 14, which sort of brought him on and then he got better second up. But those races on wet tracks, he was running really fast times. He obviously showed a lot of tenacity and grit and it is a very tough and honest horse, but he was doing them on the minimum. Now he's up with 58 and a half kilos, having to work from a wide barrier off seven weeks. It's not a great setup to be backing horses favorite when his ratings profile is back in the pack as well. Yeah, now I'm in full of grints with you, particularly around punch lane. I think this step up to the mile now is really suitable off that seven days and there's only had one crack at the mile and was a winner. So gets to 16, 100 metres just for the second time in his career. Let's talk to race nine. Now this is a three-year-old handicap over the 16, 20. But one of the assaults that I just want to throw a little bit of rough stuff out to the units. And this is a horse called Shoma who want to say mixes his form a little bit or actually big time. And he's not a guy I'd trust with, you know, my wallet and my car keys, but he has shown that he can run to the winning standard of this race and you're getting sort of 40 bucks plus for him. Now he broke his maiden first up at the ball. That was on a heavy eight with Nashawilla in the saddle. It was actually quite a dominant win in the end. Next start was plain. It just looked too bad to be true. Now prior to this, he's actually a former Kiwi and his group one placed in New Zealand on a heavy track. So clearly loves getting the toe in like he showed up Warnemble. And whilst he didn't, whilst he regressed off that Warnemble win in maiden company, I think if he can bounce back somewhere and somewhere towards that maiden win, the fact he's going to have these conditions on his side. Blink has gone for the first time. I think there's just a little bit to like about him at a really big price in what looks a pretty tough race. So Shoma for me in the last, I think it is race nine. That's the last, yeah. That's an interesting race. I've got a lot of time for flying down. It wouldn't be, wouldn't surprise me by this time of the day, Daniel does something where like a he's down hot too, they're all coming off the fence and he actually sticks to the fence. He went really wide on him early in the day last. I don't know a big weight. He just knocked up, but I'm not sure about a wet track. Patti Pies, I was with you as well. I don't think it was a tough run though. Yeah, well, I don't think it was sort of four five wide early. Yeah, I think it was inconclusive. What did you make of Deans ride last? How he sort of he sort of navigated to did need to the middle of the track early up outside the. Yeah, probably if he had his time again, he wouldn't have gone as wide because those behind then cut underneath in other lanes and then won the race. I think in terms of the horse knocking up late, though, it was just the damage was done having to work on a pretty good tempo early. So it was that just exacerbated the end result. Patti Pies, he drops down to the minimum after carrying 16 1/2 kilos, winning down to the inside against the pattern of Donald last start. Now he is progressive and he is very likely to run a new peak, but he's priced like he's just not a certainty, but he's priced like he's pretty close to a good thing to continue that sort of linear improvement. So that's not the bit that I type, I'd need five bucks to back that horse, but it also won't surprise me if he does it, but I've got to assess the race on its merits and so I'm not comfortable taking that price. Yep, let's get to more fulfil now, so it looks to be heavy conditions in Adelaide as well on Saturday. Yeah, I am I'm pretty quietly confident it's going to be a piece take over there on Saturday. Yeah, it's okay. The rail is true. To heavy nine, they've had 56 mils for the last seven days, up to up with the five mils Thursday, three to 15 mils Friday, some light showers, race day, morning, light winds. They're going to be getting off the fence and you're going to want to want to find a horse that really can relish wet tracks. Yep, well, we're going to find a few for data dream.com.au, a great mates over there in South Australia, make sure you hop onto their website. What about race one on this program, salty benchmark 78, 2500 meters, a proven stayer and wet tracker who you wanted to be with a couple of weeks ago, but didn't make his way across in woods. Yeah, harsh tanked up last start, but like in her career, it's a bit of an outlier. If she repeats what she did last start hard to beat, but sort of happy to side with W1, who's rated to the winning standard very consistently and has some good peaks as well. He's set up to not ideal like he's five weeks into this after backing up quickly in the water book cup, we got two far back ran race fastest clothes like five weeks into a 2500 meter race, but it is an ideal, but we're getting seven bucks 50 about the best horse in the race that's the best wet tracker in the race. So there's enough in that for me to have a nibble on him. I think he only runs well. Yep, pretty close to eight bucks there. Wads in the first world at race three, we're both going to combine here. I saw a really nice real battle horse that back me next start. This is a benchmark ID 1200 meters and the horse is symmetrical. It is. SSE trace on its merit, you know, if he showed up here and I didn't think it set up nicely, I wouldn't be backing him, but I think it sets up nicely. Like there's just no doubt he runs past the stalker last night if he doesn't settle so far off them. So you got the stalker going forward from, no sorry, from the block I should say. From the block going forward from a low draw, the stalker rolls across, bouncing beyond jacks on ice sort of parks him behind. I got him three pairs back, one off, it might be outside Starlight Valley, like that's a nice scenario with a few upfront sort of making it a genuine gallop. He's offence, he's a bit closer than last dark, Karakasoo, Jindus, into invetational drawn to his outside, he's not going to be snagged all the way back to last dark last night. He's been building well this preparation. He remains on a light weight. This looks like it's set up to be his peak run of the preppin and his peaks are raised best and he absolutely thrives on wet track. So I thought he was a terrific bet considering, you know, I thought the danger was jacks on ice and he doesn't really win jacks on ice. I'm with you. I'm supremely confident that he will be finishing strongly. It's not the last 200 metres of the race. I'm concerned about Salty. It's the first 200 metres of the race and finding a position in run that's a little bit more favorable than last time out. So I'm with you, Metrical in race number three on the programme. What about race four? This is a benchmark 68 for the three year olds. Yeah, riddle me this, okay. Race four or, yeah, race four. Yeah, okay, riddle me this. All right. So posh, a diamonte, was deeper into a preparation than all over last dark. It was in front of all over in the run. All over was held up and had to dart back to the inside section of the track, which was inferior and and breeze past posh, diamonte, like she was standing still. And posh, diamonte comes up favourite and all over is your second favourite and all over that was its first exposure, this preparation to a really wet track, but has seen soft seven tracks in the pass and run good ratings too. So I'm not really perturbed by the conditions with 51 and a half kilos again. I just can't fathom how that is. It isn't favourite. What's the weight swing? Half a kilo. Half a kilo. Yeah. That's not making up what it did last dark. Yeah, no, you're making a strong case and you know, I'm struggling to riddle you that. The reason might be because posh, diamonte was 850 last dark and all over was $13, but that's not enough for me. Okay. All over, 460, posh, diamonte, currently $3.90 there in the fourth. So all over, 4S, it's all over, all over. Race 9 is 0 to 68. This is over 1200 metres. We're getting a Mongoli and gobi. I believe it's gobi. Sorry. I do struggle with my pronunciation. I don't feel like that. So there's been a couple of scratching since this morning. Seven cents have come out. But this guy opened like 480 and he's in the 390 and he's just the best bet anywhere on Saturday, just any track in the entire country. This is a cult that's progressive, meeting a bunch of horses that have found their mark. He's racing for the Gallagotus camp who are flying of late as well. All their horses are running true to expectation and exceeding at 9 from their last 50. And he's only seen a heavy track twice in his career. Once on debut at Sale, he stomps home, runs a great figure, wins by 4 lengths. And then last start at Packenham, he runs a career peak figure. I reckon third up, I like the booking of Campbell Ruella as well because we know he's a big strong jockey. And this guy under a bit of pressure because he soaked up some tempo last start. He just got a bit wobbly in the concluding stages before then again cruising away from them late. By this stage of the day, he's drawn out, he can sort of sit two, three wide, no problem, get to the right part of the track. He's a great bet. Yep, three bucks, 90, bit of speccing in from 420 and for the big Mongolian goby in race number nine on the program. That rounds out our specs there at Morphville, all thanks to Dare to Dream. We'll go to Randwick Salts. What can we expect with the track conditions in the northern states? It's an improving soft six, is quite warm conditions, minimal rainfall. I'm somewhat wary with this rail six metres of last time we raised the three metres soft six. It was very difficult to make ground, but seven metres good for in April was quite fair. It shouldn't be as leaderish as it was last time out, but it's worth watching. Okay, race one on the program. This is a class three, highway, 1200 metres. Chains of love come up if favourite at $2.64, the Masara camp here with Aaron Bullock in the saddle, but why draw here, Saltsie 14, but why draw no worries? Yeah, just looking at all the emergencies and stuff though, like, if all the emergencies don't get a run, she will come into barrier nine and she's got a bit of tactical speed as well. She went forward in a black type race. I could up at Eagle Farm, last start absorbed a little bit of pressure, stuck on only beaten sort of one and a half lengths. That race had misfree love, it was one by earned a burn. It was obviously a higher quality race than this and prior to that first up at Skone, she just absolutely belted them up. I think that she's just got way too much class for a lot of these. Yep, chains of love to get us off to a good start in Sydney at Royal Ram Week. We'll head to race number four now. This is a benchmark 72 over 1300 metres. Hello captains, the $1.95 favourite in this race. But the second line of betting is front rank for the Waterhouse Bot team Tim Clark in the saddle who won nicely on debut at Canberra on a heavy track. Yeah, hello captain, look short enough. Barrier one can get back, got a big wave, got a turn of four, but there's going to be horses to his outside when he's looking to improve. The other one that could run on his shady road who comes through that earned a burn race at Eagle Farm and also was quite good in their Denise's joy closing off strongly. But I wanted to find something up on pace given the dangers are going to be likely settling back in front ranks that horse, got blinkers on for its debut after trialling without them and actually still trialling okay. It was a heavy can of brick track, but the good track trials were fine. I don't think it'll have an issue going, went to dry Tim Clark on, goes to the front. Overall time was good last start, late strength was good and just watching the stewards vision, the rest of the field stopped and this gilding for Tim Clark through the line just he couldn't hold it up, it just wanted to keep going. So I think it's going to be pretty tough to beat. Yep, four bucks, 60 there front rank in the fourth race five on the programme. This is a 78, it's for the billies and the mayors, it's 1800 meters. I am getting involved here. Nays Abbas, you're favourite at 225, Shangrila impact on the second line at 370, horizon six dollars, double figures the rest. I'm starting with Shangrila impact. I think he can just put a line through her last start. She was 33 days between runs, the jock reported that she just didn't handle the heavy track on that occasion and as a result, the run ended at the 200. The start prior, she actually went to the top, absorbed her fast tempo and was able to win on top of the ground. So the better the conditions for her, I think will suit. Nays Abbas, the clear danger and I was with her last start and you just got to put your hand up sometimes and it was just, I was backing her on a turn of foot but it was just a bad set up back in trip to the mile. So she goes back to the 1800 meters which will note out soot and she is the clear danger. But I just think Shangrila impact clearly has the better peak figures. Nays Abbas is probably here being priced on upside which she does concede, have plenty of but Shangrila impact certainly, run to the winning standard on a couple of occasions. So I'm starting with Shangrila impact to get up on the bani, run him along and jump back into the winners circle and capture some of that form of what she did to back. So Shangrila impact for me, I thought the price between the two at the top of the market was far too great and that's how we're playing the race number five. And race seven on the program over a thousand meters for the benchmark, 78 is you're relying on David Fyfe choosing Sydney over Melbourne for ice keel. I am because I think this is the best bet of a day. So it's ice, cool in in the seventh and you and I we started with the big red tequila last start and we finished closer. Yeah, it should have but again it was sort of backing on the fact that ice cool would be would miss the start or you know, know, do a little bit wrong and get kept in a pocket. And it was just all over after the first sort of furlong or two. Wasn't it with ice cool? And I think he's just proving that he's clearly the best horse in this race. And I want to back the best horse in this race because he's second up now. He's only going to improve on what he did first up, beating some of these market dangers. Yes, the likes of Big Red to Killah does get a three kilo weight swing. But I just don't think it matters because I think he's a three kilo more than a three kilo better horse than Big Red to Killah. So plenty of improvement, as I said, to come second up, jump pretty well first up, which was the danger. So ice cool for me is the best in the benchmark 78 in race seven over a thousand meters there at Royal Ramwick race nine on the program. This is the listed civic stakes. This is a quality over 1400 meters. It's a pretty sort of challenging, challenging race on just on first glance. I thought Saltsie, but there's a deep horse everywhere. Yeah, the deeper I got into it, I thought there's a lot of speed here. And the way that I want to play this race is I want to find something that's going to get a nice drop in behind that speed. And the horse that maps to do that is Midnight Dynamite, who is the favourite, but is just completely airborne at the moment. This horse, it's gone to a new level, this preparation. I think Jason Colett from Barry or eight will be able to get, as I mentioned, a nice drop in behind that speed and have last say and just keeps holding his form. So keen to be with the Midnight Dynamite in race number nine on the program there at Ramwick. We'll head to race 10 now. This is a benchmark 78 1400 meters Saltsie round the units out with a winner at Ramwick. I love this horse glorious moment. And I wanted to follow him off his first up win. But I just thought maybe he wanted a wetter track. And I wasn't sure where he was going to get to from the barrier, but he handled that good track. So I'm happy to forgive his last start because he wasn't very well ridden. He jumped well. It was that day at Ramwick where you couldn't make any ground. He jumps half a length in front of them, gets sold up. But then when a couple looked to potentially hold him out, he gets snagged back and he ends up just being four wide. If he actually pressed on, he probably would have led the race. And if he led, he would have stomped them. He actually kept coming despite his wide run. This is a good horse that's got some tenacity. He's obviously had his issues given how sparingly he raised his bend in his four-year-old career so far. But all these first five runs were first up. He was never stringing runs together. And here he is third up with only a few weeks between each of his runs. So whatever sort of sound or any sort of issues that he had, it appears to be there on top of them. He's only going to keep getting better as he gets fitter as well. So I reckon he's the best horse in the race. And I think that he's really an aggressive enough. Look, he's not going to lead a horse like Cole Brew, he's down hot too. But he's going to get across, I reckon. I think there's a good chance he sort of slots in and gets enough run. And you know, I'm happy to take that risk at five bucks for what I believe to be the best horse in the race. Glory stuff, Salt C, Ipswich now for just the hit and run. It is Ipswich Cup top there and you know what? I'm going to have a bet in the Ipswich Cup. It's a listed race over 2150. And I just thought this race set up superbly for Encoder. I might just give the units a little bit of a little bit of an Ipswich market just as a guide. I don't know, you're driving your car. Who the hell's in this race? Bill Boeyt. Yeah, yeah. How about that? What do we got here? You want to give my mouth? What are your boys? What are your boys? You can get three bucks, 70. Encoder, six bucks, cavalry man, four bucks, 80. We like to do things in order these days. That's down on the minimum. Yeah. Caluacoy. He also down on the minimum. Emily Lang cannot claim in this race being a black type race. I miss Joel, nine bucks, 50. And all the way down to the Viking at 71 bucks. I think that that is like a group one market read. This should have been the Cox plate. That's how good that market read was. So the market read worthy of a major. Nevo internal seven is quaking. He's quaking. I don't even think I read that in Coda, which is your tip at six bucks, Barry, a one. And look, we sort of mentioned at the top of the show that Ipswich is a tight turning track that generally lends to those that draw inside. And perhaps you want to be a little closer to the speed. You don't want too much work to do turning for home. And this race sets up superbly for encoder and is ready for the trip now stepping up to 21 50 years through the right race, Eagle Farm, which was the group three Lordmeers Cup. He was less than a length off Athonatos and militarized that fought out the finish. He draws Barry a one here. Can kick up and hold a spot. Belvedere boys who's good horse will be back and wide though market danger. We'll have a lot to do. So the fact that encoders had a win over 2200 meters has been in work for some time. Looks ready now to step up to this 21 50 and it's a map bet. It's figures bet. It's a 40 bet. It's a form bet. It's just a bet. So it's a hit and run every. It's a Boris bet. It's Boris. Boris. Boris. Damian and Stephanie are the most similar looking siblings that aren't none of them are actually twins. It's extraordinary. Yeah, it's true. They've all got the thought and features, don't they? Yeah. Good call. It's too unisense for me. I didn't know how to come at that. What's your best fact for this weekend? Mongolian goby in the last at Morph at Bill. We're daring to dream up more for this week. I think it's a cracking betting card there. I'm keen to play. I think El Dukhry is one that just proves that I can be very objective because you know he's one of my favorite horses. I love the guys. Tough as nails.
