It's our first time here, so we're so excited. I am so thrilled to have these two icons in the building with me. Okay, I was thinking about it. You guys changed reality television forever, for over a decade, on Real Housewives. You're just so fun and chaotic, off the cuff. I cannot wait to talk with you guys today. We're going to talk reality TV. We're going to talk toaster ovens. We're going to talk pirates. We're going to get into it all. Cabriolet. Okay, tell me about the outfits. You guys clearly didn't get dressed together. No, we did not get dressed together. When I was looking at the pockets, I think I watched Andy and I watched a couple. Other people on the podcast already was so casual, so I was like, you know, I'm going to wear a statement necklace and be comfy because I'm flying out tonight. I love that you've dressed for comfort. Thank you. Sonia, how did you pick your outfit? Looking gorgeous. I just decided I'd wear whatever was on the hotel floor. Oh, here I am, fresh as a daisy. Okay. In sequence, looking fabulous. Looking so good. You love a statement necklace, so we love that for you. The waist. Okay, your new show, The Golden Life, is coming out October 20th. I think I can speak for everyone when we say, thank God, thank God, thank God you're back. Can you tell me a little bit about this cast? Because obviously we are getting a lot of OG rony people back together. How did it come to be? Well, Luann and I have been working on it for a few years since we were surprisingly not doing our life story series any longer. And we were meeting with different. Her life story series. Yeah, the one-offs weren't pulled. So we were always interviewing with different networks, and it was just timing and the money came together. So thank God, but thank e-network. Well, we've got a lot of life left to live. I mean, we did 20 years of the OG cast. For the OGs, did you guys have any say in the cast? Oh, yeah. It started with me and Lu, right? Let's say that. We weren't sure if Ramona would join. Timing was very, very good for us with Ramona, because she was a very, very good person. She was not with her serious boyfriend any longer. Oh, and if a serious boyfriend, if they were to get. Well, how many cocktail parties can he go to? Okay. Well, Ramona wasn't going to go on TV if she was still very serious. If Ramona was very seriously involved with a financier from New York, she wasn't really happy to go back on TV. But she's in between boyfriends, so she has us. Oh, my God. This worked out perfectly. It was before bros, babe. Well, more maybe because they broke up. Yeah, right, right, right. Yeah, you're right. It was bro, but don't speak too soon. It's in FOMO. Let's put it that way, right? And then maybe she's also like dumb. For now, film, then get back with him. I've heard people do that. I didn't do that for Love Hotel, so I skipped it. Okay. The show kind of follows you in Palm Beach, and we also have later in the Hamptons. Sonia, what is the biggest difference between living in Palm Beach and New York? Wardrobe. Tell me. Well, they have men everywhere, right? Oh, okay. That's not hard for us. No, no. I would say wardrobe, because in Florida, you wear pink and green and white and very summery colors and florals. The Hamptons is a little more, it's like street wear. It's New York chic. But linen, for sure. So we're not wearing this, obviously, in the Hamptons. Would you wear this in Palm Beach? Yes, but I wouldn't wear this in the Hamptons. Now you can wear it anywhere, Joanne, for breakfast. I mean, look at us. Well, sometimes I wake up with this on the next day, and it will be for breakfast. You'll just show up to brunch. Yeah, okay, that's fair. Run right into brunch, dinner to brunch. You know, listen, Palm Beach, and it's like apples and, I don't know. Yes. Oranges. Oranges. Or lemons. You said, Luann, in the trailer, the libido is more active in Palm Beach. Yeah. Explain. Well, I think that, you know, there's a lot of women looking for men. So there's a lot of estrogen going around on the streets. So the libido is high. No, I was just thinking about what makes you warmer and hornier in Palm Beach is the sun. The sun. And being outdoors. Okay, explain to me the difference in the Palm Beach men versus the New York men. Well, most of the men my age are married. The good ones. Okay. And then the younger guys all have very wealthy girlfriends or fiancés, and they're visiting the girls' family. That's what I discovered after I moved there. I don't really go out much on season, so the crowds just drive me nuts. Dating, the men are very generous in New York. That's the difference. The men in New York, they like to take you out and spend a lot of money. If you're in a retirement or semi-retirement mode. So I'm going to have to start going out, Alex, on season because that's when the single guys come down, when it's cold in New York. I was going to say, what about like the recently divorced? Do we like recently divorced men or no? Or widowed. Widowed. Ramona said I should be checking those obituaries. See if any of my friends are on there. Oh my God. That's literally your version of like Tinder. Exactly. Much better. So much better. Because I know their backgrounds. Right. You don't know what you're going to get on Tinder. I always start with sections of any department store. I always start with that. Like they always need a toaster or they always need, you know, a toaster. A toaster. And they're wandering around and you can say, hello boys, let me show you how to use a toaster. Well, as Bethany said, Bethany said, on my dating app, I have, I'm a professional toaster oven loving chef. And do you think that that is what really gets men going? Like they really like that? Yes, they do, Alex. You know, you have to feed your man first. Once they're fed, there's only one thing they're thinking about. My man likes to cook. So that's, you know, I kind of manifested a chef, but I, and he is like a self, you know, self made chef in terms of meaning that he loves to cook. And I love that about a man. And are you actually a good cook, Sonia? Well, I was on, you know, worst cooks, celebrity worst cooks. I set the whole kitchen on fire, as you know. So let's pretend you find a man in the obituary section. He's ready. He's, he wants to come over. What are you cooking him? Well, I'll make him filet of sole or rack of lamb. I've had the filet of sole. And I've cooked for her several times in the toaster. And it's okay. It was okay. Hold on, hold on. I just cooked for Kelly Ben Simone. It was so good. You're putting a rack of lamb in the toaster oven. Did you see Emeril the chef? Right after I came out with the toaster, and I had been talking to Martha Stewart about it for a while. Next thing, Emeril comes out with the toaster oven, you know, demonstrations. It's just a great way to live. You don't heat up your whole kitchen. You don't have to drain your electricity bill. You have more time for your self and your man afterwards. And you feel like you're cooking the fish enough in the toaster. Eight minutes. It's thin. It's thin. Fish cooks in 18 minutes in the toaster. Oh, I got to come over for a meal. Oh, you'll love it. You need to know this as a new mom, because kids like to also cook with you. Okay. And no one's having any, like, you know, diarrhea after. Everyone's good? Not after my cooking, no. But other things, yes. She likes my eggs a little front side. Oh, yeah. It's very good. Last time I came over, she put her caviar on. I know. She has the new caviar. I'm working on a caviar. The brand, yes. Oh, congratulations. Thank you. That's so bougie of you. I love that for you. You know, why not have caviar and eggs a little front side in the morning? Why should it be for cocktail parties? Let's have it in the morning. It's sexy. I mean, to have it. Alex, you know what she said? What? She goes, I just want everyone to be able to afford it. It's more affordable. I mean, you. The 1% that buys caviar is going to be able to afford it. Well, the 1% is a lot. Let's not discount the 1%, okay? I'm not okay. Okay. I'm not okay with that. I love that for you. That's so bougie. It's like, oh, why not have a caviar line if you can have a caviar line? So countess. Now, I want to know your guys' thoughts on the new, new seasons and cast of The Real Housewives of New York City. Obviously, like, have you guys watched it? Do you just see it on the news? Like, what's your relationship? I'm not, you know, I catch it here and there. And listen, I think that we have very big shoes to fill. And I think they're different women. And, you know, there's room for all of us. So, you know, we wish them the best. That's a good answer. You were obviously both on Roni. With Carol. Now she's back. Were you surprised? Yes, I were. I wasn't surprised because of BravoCon. I was surprised because when Carol filmed with us, she always acted like, you know, she wasn't in 100%. She was always like, well, this is a bit beneath me. You know, she always gave that air. And then when she decided to do that after so much time off, I was shocked. But I did hear through the grapevine that she's been a good addition. Okay. So do you think she's 100% in now? No, I don't know about that. She's friend status. It's called friend status. You know, like I said, I can't remember where I said that, but I said, you know, what was she doing before, right? She wasn't that busy. So you're like, everyone needs a job. And then she did it like a TikTok or something, which said, I'm retired. I'm going fishing. And so I texted her and go, how's the fishing going for you? She laughed. She goes, that was the best shade you've ever thrown me. That's actually amazing. Okay. Speaking of Carol, she was married to Anthony Radswell. Did you guys watch Love Story? Did you see the show Love Story? Okay. Did any of you, either of you ever have any run-ins with, I don't know, JFK Jr. back in the day? I did not. I think Sonia might have. Yes. I was living in Europe. You know, this was before Wi-Fi. Everywhere you went, it was just the same group. So you go to the park, there's John John. You go skiing, there's John John. And I used to hang out at- We're calling him John John? Yeah, the Michael Todd Room at the Palladium. And so Madonna was there and John John and so many other people. so many other and it was just like this you know a couch of people no one cared if you were famous or you just got in because you were cool and there were no cell phones i love that your fame was faint you know me before fame was simpler fame wait why do you call him john john because he's the he's the junior john john should i say john junior i don't know everyone just said john john john everyone says john john okay so you had a little run-ins with madonna you were just you were making your way around seeing the people absolutely i was 14 years old at studio 54 oh so with a chaperone oh with a chaperone who was your shop my aunt from upstate new york oh you had a cool she loved all that you know i was modeling and all that it was fun i love that for you and you know uh you know her daughter lordis comes to my cabaret shows because i know madonna from switzerland actually because she was a big friend of valentino's who used to have uh new year's eve parties and stuff so that's where i spent my the 90s was i was like missing from i missed a decade in new york so yeah i missed a lot of pub culture from that well that's not a bad thing no do your kids know how cool you are not really not really but we start to figure it out when we hear about how it is for young people today we start to understand things were so much simpler and everywhere you met you met people and you didn't leave until you were ready to leave because you didn't go home and listen to your answering machine and say oh gosh he was at another place well we're waiting on phone calls that you don't even remember oh you know the you didn't leave me a voicemail you didn't leave me a voicemail or you go to the i'm talking at home you know or you go to the um you go to the pay phone and you you call into your answering machine and then you're like that's 20 blocks from here i'll take the one i have one in the hand is better than two in the bush do you two still have a landline i do not okay i still have a fax machine which people think is we they think it's weird they still sell them what do you do with your fax machine um lots of banks medical offices lots of banks and schools always want you to use a fax but my friends at lunch yesterday at the bel air you know what they told me they said you could just do it on your cell phone you can email from your cell phone like what what schools are you faxing what are they asking you to fax well it's the only you know quincy you know my daughter she only really graduated a short time okay so you're over there faxing you're a very involved mother a faxy you're a faxy faxer okay i am going to play a little game with you guys i'm going to which of your golden life cast members fits the bill the most ready most likely to show up late to the reservation so and you you've been late this whole season as well i think we're tied what about ramona come on ramona has been late she leaves early she thinks she's the queen of palm beach oh is ramona the queen of palm beach oh no she thinks she's the queen there's a difference you're like sweetie do not get it twisted absolutely not okay so she do we have a queen of palm beach in our group or no group not really okay to quote lou anagan not really why are you let me just say to be fair ramona has a lovely group of girlfriends and um they like to socialize oh and do you want to be friends with her friends i know a lot of her friends but i really don't like socializing at big parties i'm a reckless but i will oh my gosh okay never mind i just was going to tell you ramona gets up in the morning she has her breakfast she goes to tennis then she has you goes to golf and then she goes to dinner after dinner a little tete-a-tete oh so she's busy every day do you think that's why she's late that's why she's late yeah because we're like not her first choice oh you're not like you guys kind of are not tier one how does that make you feel well well i wouldn't call us not tier one but she's got a lot of social stops on the way so yeah either she's late or she's early or she i mean she leaves early okay and absolutely that's that i'm just like someone sonia time you know i just i always think oh five minutes is an hour for me we're respectable i like to get there late and i'll leave a little early okay large events but when i'm when it's just us i'm on time okay perfect okay who is most likely to never pay you back i think we all pay each other back we're never loaning anything to each other because we know we might not get it back oh okay that's fair yeah so you're all kind of loaning anyone yeah well we don't really you know production pays yeah we don't need loans okay perfect who's most likely to take home the bartender sonia that was a big lead-in or some rando sitting at the bar well as long as it's not a bar i go to regularly because i don't like to burn bridges except i'm in another town wait what do you mean burn bridges well i don't want to go back to the bar and i already had sex with the bartender okay that doesn't work that's like sleeping with a bravo liberty i don't do that you might get free drinks i mean no no i get free drinks if you put out for the bartender maybe you get some free drinks i mean i get free drinks without sleeping with the bartender because they just want to see how i operate okay so i see what you're saying like you don't want to be like oh my god i just saw him last night in my bed and now i want to go back here with my friends and i have to see him again so maybe you're if you're going to a different bar that's maybe not your go-to out of town on tour oh honey i did 46 cities in a year and a month so i had plenty of opportunity i would say the best was monterey oh i love her she's too busy at the bar and i'm like on stage killing myself doing cabaret he was in the front row with his father his mother sister i'm so jealous i'm performing sonia and you said he's in the front row with his brother his father's mother and his sister and the whole time they were like and so when i had the meet and greet they all came to that and i just said eeny meeny miny moe because his brother was hot too and you're working your ass off and i am i'm touring around the globally now i mean i'm doing australia england with the countess cabaret and so is uh sonia she got back from you were in australia so we're touring around the world now which is crazy oh yeah we are it's amazing up next is ireland and oh my god i got a new song i can't wait for you to hear oh my god give me a little something give us a little something give well okay um to all the boys i've loved before who traveled in and out my door oh those boys who came along i dedicate this song to all the boys i've loved before i'm so excited for where do you hear it it's a dance version romantic it's coming out um on october 9th actually she's your biggest hype woman while you're just doing that i remember when we were watch what happens live our first season together on real housewives and i was just like and you have no idea she's always performing broadway hits off the cuff it's nice to have a friend like that though that's like there's no jealousy you're just like oh my god i love this she's very very no we're supportive of each other and listen i have you know i did a video while we were filming in palm beach for the song so you're on the new season of the show congratulations yeah and you're gonna see sonia perform as well okay now back to the rancher where do you take him after you meet him jolly i have a hotel right next door he's jelly now right on main street bonner right i played right after jerry seinfeld i was proud that i sold out as well his tickets were 750 each mine were 75 dollars each you know what sweetie it's the details who cares yeah i love that about you sold out i sold out you sold out we are we are which is great oh my god what about i couldn't believe when alex called me to do oh my god on well on well vegas this woman shows up and you were like on that stage you're on with kathy hilton you guys are doing you're dancing i'm like what are they doing up there it was truly the most chaotic insane thing i had no and also we had like practice nothing so we had no idea what she was gonna do she's off the cuff and she just goes on stage we all were like yeah it was incredible and i had to teach cabriolet to my comedian girlfriend from why mara what should you do stand-up don't you think she should do sit really well i do stand up sonia in your city i know but i want her to be like by the way you know what i can't believe you said stand up because i just did a little practice you weren't there at kid squid harbor i tried a little sit down with sonia unscripted because what i noticed being number one on cameo i'm like why why and then when i do sonia in your city i say they're not coming for a show they're coming to tell me all their situations marriage divorce having a baby coming out difficulties and i'm like okay it's gonna be this kind of night how many cameos are you making a day at least 12 whoa while i'm filming it's been hard yeah she's she's killing cameo i i do cameo as well but she's really number one but for some days i'm at 28 and i panic i'm like oh you know 28 oh my god how am i gonna survive you know what is our my biggest takeaway from this cameo thing is that you know we hear so much that uh the show has given them you know gotten through them through law school it's gotten them through cancer it's made me connected to my mother you know so after all the work we've done in television television for this long it really feels nice that people can take that away and that and that we can do something to help other people in that way which is forget about your life and entertain and that's why we do what we do in terms of my you know cabaret saved my life in so many ways oh yes and i talk about that um on my tour and and you know and for sonia too you know that comedic um relief and and the creative part of what we do and and the people that really take away from it is is really it's amazing it's a big deal for people when they buy those tickets they plan ahead sometimes i sell the balcony out first because those are the affordable tickets three months in advance they're booked gotta make it affordable and you know the front row the front row sells out last minute because those are the people that can afford to wait and wait and they just fly in with a private jet with all their girlfriends and they get in the front row and it's crazy people are shaking sweating crying you guys are you are businesswomen through and through and i love that about you well what are you talking so young and so accomplished great marriage this isn't about me we're moving on okay she's got it all what else you got for us okay who is the most likely to lie in a confessional not me i'll tell you everything whatever you want to know who's most likely to complain about not having enough screen time ramona i was gonna say ramona but why would i say that because she doesn't want to film as much as we are that's true she's semi-retired now and she doesn't want any drama we don't really compete for screen time actually why did i say semi-retired she just doesn't want to work that hard you know she doesn't want that much screen time okay screen time but she's doing everything she does is gold right i mean i can't wait for you to see golden oh it's golden it's golden it's golden okay i can't wait for you to see you know i can't wait alex it's it's golden it's golden we gotta get that plug in there i never thought i would do this again but you know but here we are here we are because i love my girls okay and i have 60 best girlfriends but i love these girls too okay who is most likely to date a friend's ex not me a friend's ex kelly would never ramona would never we won't get into it and dorinda doesn't date that much okay sonia i feel like your friends have a way of kind of like dating people that you've dated in the past why do you think you're such a trailblazer with men well i just think it's a good housekeeping seal of approval if i'm out with someone and spending my time because i'm usually reclusive so if you see me out with a guy you know they have good manners they're you know of means they're they're they're um generous so maybe you're the woman good people and so then other women are like oh what does she see in him maybe i could take him for a spin oh you saw her in the in the trailer she's got her hands up my boyfriend shirt okay yeah but ramona and i did that to be cheeky because we were like how do you like it now luann yeah i don't i don't find it threatening darling you don't know that michael's going nowhere we thought it was a joke so is is that who in the trailer you say i was mad i was mad you were i was mad but then i were like how do you like it because she did ask us to dance with her she did ask us to dance with her she did ask us to dance with her and he was into it no i said you know take the girls for a spin because there was no men to dance with right i gave them an inch and they took the whole bratwurst okay we're just being ourselves so you're like trying to share your man yes i mean nice net girls dance and then they took a little advantage exactly we're just being ourselves i was not happy about it but then we we worked through it is that the moment in the trailer you say she loves to flirt with any man who is mine that's right are you referring to sonia no i don't flirt with other people's men but i will i will tell you the girls i'm not bringing any i will not bring any of my bring what i'm the only one that is a man i will not bring my men around anymore because they cannot be trusted around the girls hold on pause luann so do you disagree that sonia will maybe flirt with your man well you know i i don't have a problem with threatening i have a problem with putting one's hands up on your boyfriend's shirt that's rightly so right i mean i'm not the jealous type but i was like okay this is gone i was kidding now to pull him out by his belt i was kidding around luann was luann said to dance with michael ramona got up first and then i joined her and we were both bumping him from the side and having fun and then i thought i'd show off his belly why not just why not well he's got a great body that's for sure oh does he have a nice body oh yeah okay well you know i'm not into good-looking guys like your husband's way too good-looking not interested i like really really like the bald and if i'm getting if i'm gonna get nude i like them a little bit more you know my speed okay so you like a little bald little belly little she likes to be the smart you want to be passionate okay so you want generous caring i see so like personality on 10 looks don't care now okay why are you not bringing your men around the girls anymore because i don't want to see them showing up every time everywhere i go it's the pirate it's hair i don't want to see them it's um you know tom and i'm just like i'm not bringing them around let's not make this about tom okay i really don't want to see them in my friend group after i'm done okay so you're yeah you're feeling like maybe the girls keep the guys around that recirculating and it's not you're not interested how do you feel about that luann oh you know we do get to see harry around this season of the show right in the beginning he's everywhere at this point he's a friend do you mean he's like another housewife at this point of course yeah yeah yeah but he loves to be on the show no but he's still interested in me and his family adores me but i'm not interested in a man that wants to be on the show or date my girlfriends does it freak you out if a guy is really interested in your career on television like not it's never been my thing like remember jacques was always great on the show right um and you know michael is just you know he's great because he's just he's comfortable with who he is and he's a real man so he's there to support me he's not there to steal the camera in fact he always says that i'm here to you know let you shine right men that want the spotlight kind of freak me out that's like a little freak no he doesn't care about that he's there to support me and the guys i like are very kind of grumpy they're like oh you talk to me kind of guys you know my ex i'm thinking of and other boyfriends i like a guy that is more discreet quiet hides himself away has a very solid stable family lifestyle and a big people and not looking oh no i don't need private plane darling private private plane not the peepee we all thought of no i'm not interested in private planes or yachts or private islands anymore i'm not going to try to replicate what i had sonia had it over it so so you had it and now you're like if they have one is that a no-no for you depends on the guy if if money is his god no if you know my ex-husband didn't care about all that goddess what if he has a yacht if if he has a yacht we got the yacht if he has a yacht for me at least because he looks at as a place to have family and entertain okay but if you know the problem when you have a yacht you really can't afford to take it out with just two people you're gonna see a lot of yacht parties okay on this on the show you know which we're excited about we're doing a lot i'm not a lot of really fun things on the show and let me tell you some things just never change like our relationships are still like you know all over the place but as we're friends you know we're tight and we get through it and i think that's you know hopefully inspirational for yeah everyone out there like if you have a real friendship that you should stick to and work through it you know i think that's why we also aside from your guys amazing personalities your relationships it's beautiful because it's like we're looking at women who i think there's so many interesting things obviously we can always talk about on podcasts of dating and what's going on but female friendships are so beautiful and the fact that you guys have been through ups and downs with this entire cast and you still come back together is really beautiful now i know bethany isn't filming on the show right do you guys keep in touch with her what's the vibe well sonya has been in touch with her more than i have i mean we will always have that housewise history do you know what i mean it's not like we see each other but but that history will always be there and you know i only wish her the best and sonya i think did something with her in in paris yeah but i so i can tell you this story which is very interesting i was in palm beach i never run into ramona i never run into um bethany so i'm at bingo oh at the hotel at the colony do you frequent bingo often yes bingo in church every week oh so i'm facing the bar so people in the room don't know it's me because i'm very you know reclusive and ramona has her table and she's wearing all her fabulous palm leaves and jewelry and diamonds and all that and all of a sudden i see bethany unplanned oh really was it hold on hold on i'll get to you she knows where they go let me i think alex wants to hear this so so we're at this place unplanned she walks up to me and she goes did you know ramona's here and i'm like no because she's so spontaneous bethany isn't she hold on i need to tell this house so she got very emotional so did i so did ramona because when you don't have cameras on you and you're not trying to put out 22 episodes under the pressure you you just love each other we always love each other the thing about us is we're very unfiltered we do love each other and we accept each other the way we are after we get over the pain of what came out of our mouths i think she had it all planned and you think that bethany wanted to see no no no she just happened to be the right chance but it never goes to palm beach community how would she know i was going to be there i didn't tell her ramona posts about going to bingo i'm going to say yes no what do you think she wanted out of it luann i think she wanted out of it to kind of i don't know do a little intel as to what's going on with us and take the girls away from the show possibly because they had to leave the show during filming to go on this trip that wasn't planned here's what happened so we ran into each other there and i just think the universe is wild like that why were we in the same place i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know that why were we in the same place in the universe right there in that spot one year within one room so you're skeptical you feel like it was fate no everyone knows i don't tell stories we really ran into each other and so what happens is um she was already planning to take us for rock this huge multi multi-million dollar uh campaign okay for skin care uh-huh and i'm like that's me when would you ever think that me ramona and bethany these loud americans on reality tv would be invited to paris to do a french skin care line it's very chic but i always say hardly any parisians live in paris anymore one of the most infamous moments from roni was the scary island trip in saint john now i want to just have sonia why don't you walk us through what do you remember that happened at that dinner like set the scene for us take us back for a second so first of all that was my first season i had no idea what the show was about never watched it and um i see kelly spiraling and i see the girls like digging and digging and pushing i'm like okay this has to stop i couldn't believe it personally so that's the first time i spent the night in the same room as ramona and we've done it every trip since because i only had one umbrella to wedge the door i was afraid kelly was going to come and be like like she was really so i said ramona can i stay with you you psycho killer yes exactly so you thought she was going to come in in the middle of the night yes if you and ramona were together you'd be safe so i wedged my umbrella her umbrella on the sliding doors and we slept like babies when we woke up kelly was gone she walked the plank now when you obviously you guys are no strangers to girls trips for you when you look back at all of the girls trips you've been on what do you think was for being known for that now what do we think well you know listen it happens to everyone right you go and have a bad piece of fish and you know what the crazy part is is that we all got really ill i mean we had to go get you know treated for parasites it was really bad it wasn't just about the diarrhea it was about parasites and it's so funny because the only one that didn't get sick was bethany because she doesn't eat seafood right or shellfish so i mean the bitch is the only one that didn't get sick how crazy is that oh my god no you guys with your diapers like playing with her diapers i went through every pair of underwear every bathing suit bottom your bed had to be burned oh i went through two twin beds that's right she started on one side and moved to the other i also slid and ramona's pooping on the floor i mean it was bad i slid right through it let's let's go through some girl trips do's and don'ts i want your opinions okay all right booking daily group tours and scheduled activities how do we do that if you're on a girl's trip not me i'm more spontaneous than that although i do like somebody who likes to organize that kind of stuff okay i mean i love a friend that's really organized and i just kind of have to follow along you're just not going to be that friend yes okay you're not like somebody to plan it and sonia why are you like not me we don't do that we show up when we entertain okay perfect okay we bring the party now what about assigning sleeping arrangements ahead of time we don't do that either it usually comes down to straws or some sort of a game and you know so we can keep ramona from running to the best room first that's what i was going to say like how do you decide who gets the nicest room well we share ramona night so we get the biggest room and i get a tub i like a bathtub okay are you taking a like bath every night every night every morning nope every night every night okay i love a bath i think it's important how do you feel if you had to bunk up with someone other than ramona like do you i don't mind staying at luann's home she takes great care of me and it's very peaceful very european style but i i mean sometimes i'm like i don't know i don't know i don't know i don't know i just want to stay at ramona's i get annoyed with that music she blasts it every morning bam okay so how do you feel about if one of the women stays in on a night where the group is going out they don't like it i would love to do that i don't have fomo i have no fear of missing out i'm happy to stay home and rest in between is there ever an instance where it's acceptable with the group like if you're like i gotta stay home because of no they don't like it even if you're shitting yourself oh well well they really like you to show up to their events and support you gotta be there i feel like what do you need me for you have everybody else we love you sonia um okay how do we feel about bringing a guy back to the shared house i flew in that one well i mean listen that famous story we're being cool don't be like all on cool game and and it was because you know sonia ramona and i were single i don't know where you were that night but we went out and we brought the guys back to the house you know the whole story so i feel like we're grown women right if we want to bring somebody that we like back to the house into our room then why not do we feel like we have to ask permission or what do we think is the boundary oh yeah i'm gonna wake up you know sonia at two o'clock in the morning hey do you mind if i bring a guy into my bed she'd be like what are you kidding can i come i think i think that at that point a late evening you're just trying to that's just asking just trying to close the deal asking for a threesome right there she's like do are you is this your way of saying should i get up yeah should i get into bed so and how do we feel about the morning after we're in a house with all the women are we immediately getting the man out of there is he staying for brunch like no he has to go out the back door back door yeah i like him after 11 and out by seven personally will you say that again after 11 out by seven okay that's kind of that's a good rule yeah it's a night in the morning it's a night and do you stay do you stay in bed and just say leave or do you walk him out what are we doing one point he said you have to give up hot pants and you have to give up dating this young hockey player and i was like all right i'm not giving up the hot pants but i did give up the guy okay so quincy was like mom he's he's old enough that i could date him exactly right oh my god do you think you and quincy are ever gonna argue over a guy never never but did she like the hockey player no no why did she want you to get rid of the hot all my friends loved him did she meet the hockey player she did not she just heard about him well she knew he was there he could tell but she was over the hockey player she didn't want you with the hockey player she just didn't want me dating young guys at that point he was sticking around for a while for years and years so what kind of hockey player like professional like new york ranger and all the boys met him because we went out several times you know with the boys with him it's a good cover did you ever go to some well they have a great hockey stick yeah they i love that for you oh my god like a wag smart very well educated and very elegant nice family and a great player can we revisit the pirate for a second sure just to give everyone just what was it about the pirate that just like got you good well you know first of all i thought he was hot second of all i was already dating jacques at the time yes you were right so i brought him back because we had a little marijuana okay and and uh he'd never been to that house and that house was like a hundred thousand dollars a week to rent and he'd never been to that house so what i didn't know is we got back to the house with one of the drivers from production which i thought was a random driver so the production person put in the girl's ears asked luann how she got home because they were all sleeping right sonny she was sleeping she had no idea but she got news in the morning how i got home now he left i told him to leave at like three o'clock in the morning because i have to film tomorrow etc because i was in love with jacques so i never i never okay and he's been on andy's show at this point did you see him on andy cohen show andy cohen show so my little white line turned into a snowball effect right by saying that tiger never changes its stride oh stop it just the age spot that's what she said on the phone to her girlfriend leopard leopard what is your version so my version is my girlfriend that owns the latisse st bart's she's hooked me up a couple of times with her exes because she brings them over from paris so she says i said to her i'm having a party who your friend carol oh carol it's not me so so um she she introduced me to a couple of guys and i got them to new york they work there they have restaurants now so she says i want you to meet this guy he's totally matriculated and it's time for him to leave the nest and i said okay so when he gets to the house i invited him over so he's my date and i say to him on camera i go now you sure me yes i invited him and that's how we got there where did you think he came from the sky obviously he came from sonia's uh you know i am the curator of you know what you got the the men. So he comes and the last thing I remember saying to him as I was turn the car are you sure you're over carol because i was just teasing him to see if he really wanted to be there and then i went this way and then he went that way and then the next thing i know he's at the lower bungalow not in the fish room not in the basement the lower bungalow so to confirm both of you neither of you or one of you slept with the pirate oh i slept with the pirate that was my day i would wear like a badge of honor and you this way she didn't get sloppy seconds so everyone thought you slept with right well he thought he did too because he called me from saint bart's and he goes i'm coming to new york and i'm taking acting lessons and i'm going to talk about luann and i go oh would tom cruise do that if you're going to be an actor be an actor if you're going to sleep with someone sleep with the producer not you know so do we want to have sex with him while he's in his pirate gear only oh only oh that's what it was a moment after that it was never the same now do right you saw him afterwards he's unrecognizable he now lives in miami oh doesn't wear on makeup he has very short hair and if you see him walking down the street you'd never recognize him not as cute brought him up from new york to confirm like what happened he goes i never slept with luann but after my tutelage so you liked him tight dresses and maybe pants skirts how do you feel about that low and pants um you know i think you know wearing jeans or pants without underwear is you know it's um how do you call not camel toe but kind of a wedgie oh it feels like it would hurt you know what i don't like is the jeans i don't like the g-string thing that's the dental floss action oh yeah what's your go-to underwear well i mark what was it like finding out that he kissed another woman on camera listen i still married the guy even you know because we like to believe in the good of people and that people make mistakes uh but even louis vuitton makes mistakes even louis vuitton so you marry him do you looking back what do you wish you could have told that version of yourself before you married him listen to sonia listen to the red flags i told her blind you know i told her he was not marriage material i i don't live with regret you know what i'm saying no no i'm not somebody she was gonna get married and you know and i love the man at the time so you know but uh you know we have to make our own mistakes learn from them and grow from them it is a good point like i feel like sometimes we can have our friends telling us yes but sometimes we just have to live through the experience because then you're like okay i did it i know that that wasn't right but if you ended up going because all of your friends told you to you could then end up presenting your friends and exactly that's worse that is worse exactly you're right out that's where you have to make your own mistakes and i think that's really how you learn how do you guys navigate when you see the other person making a mistake but also wanting to be there for each other like how do you kind of sit back and know maybe oh they're making a mistake but i'm not going to judge them you just wait and don't judge and then let them know you're still there for them no matter what yeah cute um okay there is this misconception that the best days as women are behind you when you're 30 40 50 it's like okay it's over but i feel like you two are just revving up like we're just beginning you're just getting started what is the best part about getting older i mean for me the best part is you know being in the driver's seat and not having to need a man right at this point in life and and being busy and you know success is the best revenge right and i feel like that at this age we really i you know i say this you know i cry when i have to and i love who i want to now do you know what i mean so that's true as i you know i i live the life that i want to live now and i don't do things that i don't like anymore you know i'm saying i do things that i love and i lead my life that way that's why i love cabaret because i write my story it's my story right and that's you know how i lead my life now i just don't you know i don't want to do things that make me uncomfortable or don't make me happy i also feel like you both are kind of known for having the best game when it comes to picking up men for the housewives like you guys are really good what is sonia what do you think is like the sexiest thing about being in your 60s well the thing about being in my 60s is it's bittersweet because you have less time on earth and you start to really value real connection uh you know social currency sort of goes up and down and you're like oh my god i'm so happy i'm so happy i'm so happy i'm so out the window you don't really care about collecting connections you have them already and um you have wisdom to share and then you start to find your real purpose i love and get great joy i love the table with the waters i love and get great joy out of um working with my interns and mentoring them and making sure they get great jobs and see the world and they can tell what they really want to do for their career what's going on he's having a little bit of a we're having a coffee you're saying the most beautiful thing and loanna i'm like loanna of course she reaches for the drink mid-sentence instead of waiting no no i actually love that over here it's like so that's great advice it's like by a certain point you've collected all the good people in your life and instead of trying so hard to go and find new people so you get to settle in and enjoy the people that you've collected throughout your life have always been there for you and you really start to learn that because even as a very young girl i had people around me that wanted access and then married into a certain family and you have the private eye and the private plane and the yeah you really see you're attracting people who just want to be in the room so i'm very much over that period of my life um but like i said once you it's bittersweet because now i'm like how much longer do i have sonia we got a long way to go girl when it comes to dating also because obviously you're thriving in that department as you said you walked around you picked the rancher you took him to your hotel room you're having fun what do you think is the most surprising thing about dating in your 60s so the thing about dating at this point for me before i was you know my daughter was at home she was on the fourth floor i'm on the second floor so it was always about being having her in bed on time and being there for her when she came home from school and i just really couldn't commit to some of my age i was really reinventing myself and hustling and so i would date guys who were just starting to invent themselves but now i have had a couple of serious boyfriends the last i'd say four years one guy for a year and a half and the last guy for five months i'm not going to waste another five months so now at this point i know when you're you're dating someone like i'm 62 the last guy i dated was 58 and the guy before that 44 you start to really see what you want and who you want to spend the rest of your life with love that which is why i'm asking her if she's going to get married to michael they've been feeling two years listen i never say never okay i'm a hopeless romantic okay three times a charm because i've been married twice now and um and i think you know dating at this point in fact i'm writing about this because i'm doing a next chapter of class with the countess because i have not done that book for audible so i'm adding a chapter on this point of dating right now and at this time of life and you know it's just so different because you know we've got our children we've got our homes you know i look around and go oh my god i have a career i have my children i have my cap ratios i have you know my homes and and everything i wanted my girlfriends and things right so it's it's the added extra thing for me right and i think when you're happy this draws people to you that's so and the right people to you which is the right energy like I'm in a good place and so and I can I'm pretty good at reading people um and I you know when I saw Michael for the first time I was like oh my god that's like my next guy you kind of know and I'm like your first husband right I married Alex the count after two weeks of knowing him she knew right away you know sometimes I jump too fast so with this relationship you know I am I'm just taking it one day at a time okay easy peasy and we're happy but we're happy and we're we're definitely a couple and he's definitely my partners oh yeah okay Luann you said on the ultimate girls trip you want to die having sex I just need to know from both of you in which position oh um at the time I had a little apple but it was it was just a moment it was a moment it was a thing and listen there's nothing wrong with a woman my age like feeling good about being attractive to a guy that's 28 and a half I'm like don't say that there is nothing at all wrong with it it's so normal for men it should be normal for women I will add though I cut them off at 27 now because I say at 28 you need to have your own life and go on and get married and have children oh okay so the 27 year old you're like you can be still fucking around the 28 year old you're like go get your wife and sometimes it's just random unspoken you know that's that's the point it's like it was so random and it was just a spontaneous moment that's you know I that's another thing you know with anyone and you you want to laugh I'm sitting at BravoCon right and I'm at the bar with Tamara Judge and Teddy and this woman walks up to me and she goes hi I just want to say hello oh I'm Joe Bradley's mother she loves you and she and she couldn't have been she sat down for a half an hour he said you know what I want to thank you for putting that lovely boy on the planet because I think he's so charming and so younger ones are just like they know it's temporary but I you've had some younger ones that are like I'm in love with you marry me and they think she's gonna have babies men are so stupid they think the Hamptons recently at 1 a.m. all these messages were coming in from the guy was dating for a year and a half when I thought he ghosted me and he thought I ghosted him but Ramona's like why didn't you call each other that Hampton signal let me tell you it's younger because it's like pick up the phone yeah yeah yeah pick up the phone texting okay we need to talk about all the women that are watching you guys obviously have so much confidence when it comes to flirting with men so I'm going to give you a little scenario and I want you to tell me how you would handle it are you ready yes Luann you're at a bar you see a hot man sitting on a bar stool nearby how are you approaching him it's funny you should ask because I talk about this all the time and I'm talking about it when I'm writing right now which is that you know when you're with a group of girls or whatever alone right it's it's awkward maybe for him to come over to you and talk for maybe for you to go over to him right you don't seem too you know aggressive so that's when the bartender or waiter comes in handy you write a note that says why don't you join me for a drink I love it it's like it's kind of sexy nobody writes notes anymore and I think it's really cute to get a love note I love that oh that's a good one yeah okay Sonia you work an office job and you have a crush on your co-worker how do you turn it into something more I just don't do that I can't I've not do you see her in an office that's a better question I mean I don't see you have to velcro my ass to the chair no no I don't I just I don't date um bravo leberties people ask me that all the time I just don't um I wouldn't have an affair with someone in the office okay what about some of those southern charm guys yeah wait no no looking she's a bikini babe um how do I get his attention well we were just on the beach weren't we the paparazzi the paparazzi um yeah and Sonia and I had a little you had a moment on the beach what happened bathrooms were too far so you know I think just walking by to go to the bathroom is enough making some eye contact make eye contact telling him you know what a nice suntan he might you know flirting in that way like you like to play soccer or whatever that what's that one volleyball yes she gets right in the volleyball is a great way to pick up guys on the beach I've seen it but are you not joining the beach volleyball I'm just watching and learning what happened with the paparazzi girls no no I was just saying on the beach oh there's a lot of paparazzi people noticed I was on the beach I see we were both in people magazine as top uh celebrity bikini bods over 50 yes you were I was over 60 oh I love you it was still when we were in our 50s so I love it okay Sonia you're sitting next to an attractive man on the plane what is your first move don't talk first thing I do that's going to get you very far the first thing I do is I you know I'll just get in my seat and be demure I'll ask him to put my luggage up for me and see how he acts because maybe I don't want to talk to him and then I and then I see how he's acting you know while I'm see and then if I feel like he's elegant and put together and he doesn't have a wedding ring he's not on his phone doing strange things or just watching sports just just very much I'm not gonna there's a lot I don't like so then I will just start talking to him and then once I give him the Sonia pill he's down for it he's done what is he's done if I just brush up against his leg well not if not if I'm not interested if I'm first I want to see if I'm interested what's in the Sonia pill just talk to him and you know um try to connect make him feel important and noticed and appreciated and comfortable make sure I don't say my name I don't want to know who I am right away like if they know you're on TV sometimes men do run oh they get freaked out if they live a very discreet run off the plane he cannot so you'll shove I can't stand that sticky, wet floor. OK. Oh, oh. Friends for years, literally lifelong friendships, obviously, that you guys have. Luann, what is Sonia's best quality as a friend? Sonia really, for me, has a heart of gold, meaning that she would not try to hurt somebody. You know what I mean? She doesn't have a really mean bone in her body. And that's what I like about her, kindness and her empathy and sympathy for people in general. Oh. Sonia, what is Luann's best quality as a friend? She's always there for me when I need her. I always call her when I need her for something that I know she can handle because she's been through it as well. So I remember when I took down the portrait of my husband, it was hard for me, and you were there. We buried the dog. We had to pick up, you know, one dog I have, he was hit by a car, and for three months he was in rehab, and she came with me all the way out to Long Island to pick up the dog. The dog at the hospital in Long Island, yeah. I was shaking. And yeah, you came for the funeral. In fact, he's still with us. The ashes blew up my nose. She ingested the- Yes. The ashes. Remember that scene? On the show, we put the ashes of Milou in the East River, and when Sonia went to put the ashes in the river, they all blew in our faces. Do you remember that moment? I do remember that. So we have Milou in our noses still. On you forever. In you forever. Yeah. When you look back, what is the biggest difference between who you were in season one of Roni and who you are today on The Golden Life? Each of you answer. Um, you know, the biggest difference is I think that we built such a confidence over the years in terms of, you know, we've had to have a thick skin, you know, putting our lives out there, the ups and the downs and the all arounds and, you know, and we really put ourselves out there and I think that, you know, it is made us strong as women. We, you know, we've been through divorce and, you know, and through boyfriends and through heartbreak, you know, in so many ways. And, you know, and we've been there for each other. And I think that, you know, I've grown after all this time a lot in terms of, you know, from when I started, um, you know, I was married and to the count and, you know, I had that to protect, right. And then I had to protect the second marriage as well. And then I, you know, I lifted myself up and made a cabaret career for myself, which would never dream that it would be now global. And, um, and now I am in the driver's seat. Like I get to make all the choices. I don't have to live for, you know, the kids are grown, you know, the husbands are gone and, you know, they're there, but, you know, and now I live the life that I want to live. And that's why I think that, you know, we're doing this show because it's all about living the golden life. And I think that, um, we hopefully inspire, uh, people to know that at this age you can, you know, be busy and be productive and be as, you know, as incredible as you want to be. That is so beautiful. If you put your mind to it. You'll have to repeat the question for me. Sonia, how are you different from season one to now? Well, I didn't know what I was getting into. So, um, you know, that, that took time because I had a very private life. My husband was very private. The families are very private. So my husband had a terrible car accident. I was desperate. I mean, it was just devastating to not have him and to lose my best friend. And so I had to raise my daughter on my own because I didn't grow up that way and I needed his input. But luckily my daughter Quincy has her uncles and family members for her. Um, I learned how to be in a fishbowl, but have a private life also. And then after that, once Quincy graduated, I learned, wow, I can do this show. My daughter graduated summa cum laude from UPenn. And, um, I'm not just a show. I'm a very funny. I'm a very funny mother that's handled a lot. I went through so many, um, things financially, getting my state together and I make money independently without the show. We all learned that when the show wasn't airing in New York, we could, you know, the hustle was real and we could do it. We're survivors. I'm much stronger than I realized I was. At first, I didn't think I could nurse my husband through all of that. I felt, oh, I'm way too selfish. I didn't even think I was able to have, you know, to be a good mom. And now I know I am. Plus I can be independent. Working and taking care of me and my family, and I can still support LGBTQ animals, artists, children, all the things that I always wanted to do since I was in my teens. Well, I think that's what's beautiful about kind of what both of you just said. It's like, of course there's the chaos and the fun and you guys are so entertaining. It's like, you can't replicate what you guys did. Like you said, like there's big shoes to fill for the new cast of Roni and like bless them and good luck to them. But like what you guys gave us and continue to give us. Is really because of how authentic you've been for all those years. And like you said, Luann, there's going to be moments where you're going through the hardest times of your life that you guys have shared on television and it made you guys so lovable though, because we were like, oh my God, I can't believe these people are sharing this. But that comes with a lot that comes with a lot on you emotionally and personally and lack of privacy. And to see you guys have navigated it so well, it's so exciting to now see that you guys are opening the door back up. Can you give us any sneak peeks? Any sneak peek of what to expect on this new season and this new show? Like give me anything. Oh man. Well, I mean, you're going to see us continue to be our authentic selves, really. I mean, you know, New York was gritty and it was about us, you know, being parents and you know, raising our children and you know, along the way, discovering who we are as women and growing into that, you know, my kids were on the show, you know, early and not a lot, but they were on the show. And, um, and I think that they've, they came out of it, you know, great. And then my daughter lives, you know, in the Hamptons and she's living in Europe part of the time. Um, she's doing psychic mediumship now. Very good. She's really good. She read Sonia's tarot cards. She's really into it. She has a gift from her ancestors, from the, from the Delos Hepps actually. So cool. Um, and my son is an amazing oil painter. I mean, we, we raised our children, you know, we, um, have businesses, you know, created careers. And, you know, running homes and we really juggled a lot and, you know, and I think people, maybe we made it look easy, but it was really not, not that easy to, to juggle and all the while having to show up looking beautiful and a great dress, but it was really wasn't the focus of New York. Then New York was really about, we didn't have makeup artists. We didn't have a stylist. We didn't. And we still, I mean, we still barely have makeup artists and stylists, but doesn't, it's just not how, who we are. It's a franchise. And, and I think people can relate to that because it's very relatable. We're just normal people living our lives on TV, putting ourselves out there and hopefully, you know, helping people navigate their own lives. Well, I think the tidbit that, that I can share is, um, the fans have been, you like to say fans, I say followers, but you know, the followers who have been there supporting us through everything, um, they're going to get to see that we're there for them and it's because of them that we're coming back. If they didn't say it so loudly and so often, E! wouldn't have heard that they w you know, thank God E! Network showed up at BravoCon and they saw that the OGs get the most applause when we walk around. That's who they're really invested in is the OGs because we have experience. And like Luann said, we're gritty. We don't do makeup. We're not trying to look perfect. So they're going to see more of that. And it gets, it gets a little different when you're an empty nester and now you have your parents are older. You have your kids who are either working or not working, either struggling or surviving. And then you're going to see like what it means to have real freedom. You can sleep in, you can stay up late. You can do whatever you want because what comes with money, what comes with money that really is freedom is being able to do what you want, when you want and with who you want. I was going to say, I love that you just said that too about the OGs because I think what we can also agree is like, yes, you guys still have such a. Such a crazy fandom. And what we can all agree is you guys know how to put on a damn show. And so to know that this show is coming out, I think we're all just like, I can't wait to just sit and watch. And I don't care if you're making like literally in a fucking kitchen doing nothing, it's entertaining at its core. And so I just wanted to thank you from all of us fans for doing this because we need you guys back on TV. So to know it's coming, I just want to say, congratulations, you guys deserve it. So congratulations on everything you guys have built. Like you've been referencing, like it is so truly inspiring to watch. Yes. The housewives franchise, but like you as women to yes, it's like men are not at the center of this. It's women. It's real stories. It's what you guys have been through. It's what you guys have actually overcome. And to be sitting here at this gorgeous thriving age, I'm just like, oh my God, I can't wait to be inspired and I can't wait to be 60. So.
