The podcast features a lively, candid conversation centered on pop culture, personal identity, and the realities of reality television, especially Love Island. Hosts share their experiences at Essence Fest in New Orleans, praising the food and communal atmosphere, which underscores their love for shared cultural spaces. The discussion dives into critical perspectives on Love Island, criticizing its artificiality, lack of authenticity, and the problematic use of slurs, while emphasizing the need for real human connection. Personal reflections on love, divorce, and family dynamics—such as the breakups of Katie Perry and Orlando Bloom, or the relationship between Nick and Alandria—reveal deeper emotional layers. The hosts also explore their musical tastes, particularly the vibrant rap culture of the 2010s, and express a desire to celebrate art without getting caught in online conflicts. There’s a strong theme of vulnerability, community, and authenticity, with the hosts embracing their identities as both "haters" and "lovers" in pop culture. The conversation concludes with a joyful, grounded tone, affirming that genuine connection and honest dialogue are more valuable than surface-level entertainment. The hosts call for more inclusive, diverse narratives—especially in media and pop culture—and highlight the importance of challenging norms with empathy and courage.
i have just about um seven bug bites on each ankle oh but i would double it if it took me
back to essence fest oh it's so crazy to be in a community of like-minded people

thank you so much for that mug oh my god yeah they did ask us to come because we are very very very
hot for those listening that want to switch to youtube go ahead do that right now lock in um
no but it was so much fun to do the live show there it was so much fun to start off with a
smaller audience it's a huge convention center you never know how many people are going to get
yeah um and funnily enough the minute we start talking about love island oh sat the girls are
ears were leading people to their seats in front of us yeah okay we had sean garrett on the
esthetician and also beauty creator um he was so fun he has so many love island opinions that was
so great yes um and the second best thing i ate was a charbroiled oyster from this place called
drago's i want to imagine you're going to be eating charbroiled oysters and you're going to be eating
charbroiled oysters and you're going to be eating charbroiled oysters and you're going to be eating
i want to imagine uh like a red lobster applebees yeah fresh after church
like like the 11 a.m slot after after church ends and all the black people go to like the same red
lobster applebees that's how drago's felt wow and it was truly best bites of my life i saw god
in those biblicals yeah yeah um i did get a really good sandwich from this place called turkey and
the wolf oh yeah i've been there before yeah i hadn't been there before um and i not only sandwich
the um
collard green sandwich yeah oh my god but they also have incredible service and you don't tip
you tip if you want to uh because they pay their workers an equitable way that's so sexy it is
really sexy um but new orleans is a little too muggy for me to stay i gotta say that i gotta i
had to get in i had to get out and it is country i broke out don't look right now but i broke out
in a few places i felt at home i was like oh my people yeah every uber driver with the story to
tell yeah i know i know most people intimately now because i've taken so many ubers air and thank
god yeah it was great um we're back yeah back in the stew now we're back in it's crazy that the
new orleans or the yeah the new york humidity is nothing compared to the new orleans i was like i
had humidity that made me dissociate yep that's what i encountered yep i found god in new orleans
but what are we getting into this week i'm so glad you asked because this week we are
talking about katie perry and orlando bloom's divorce and some new celeb couples
yet another love island usa shake up and after all of that we're also going to be joined by
to talk about our favorite lyrics music drake and a little love island and like yeah a little
he stayed he locked in so let me uh excuse me let me say this let me say this are you looking for a
home for your worst opinion are you a hater first but a lover of pop culture second consider this
a glorified group chat but we are not calling you out no no no we're calling you in it's a safe
period you are so annoying but period okay uh from wondery i'm peyton dicks and i'm hunter
and this is let me say this
peyton hey i think there's someone else in the room with us right now i can feel it actually
yeah i think there's a is there a man with us oh my god that's so unlike us no that's not that's
crazy yeah well well let's bring him on out yeah yeah why not he's sitting right next to
my so should we bring him out um with us today we have devin walker who is a comedian snl cast
member and the host of the podcast my favorite lyrics yeah thank you for being here what's
going on i love what you're doing with our branded mug i'm just this is just so impressive
to me i've never i've done a lot of podcasts i don't think i've ever seen anybody with their own
glassware yeah i just wanted ain't nobody really doing it like this shout out shout out to you i'm
gonna hold this up as long as i can i guess this is my way of saying i'm proud of you thank you
and also you're you're dating i've heard that you said listen i'll not be the first not be the last
speaking of we have a very important question for you we asked our guests are you a lover or hater
i'd say i i'd say i think i lean more hater but like i have aspirations of being a lover
oh okay okay it's good that you're in the middle of us yeah do you know who's the lover and who's
the hater um this is interesting because we don't know each other that well but we'll get to know
each other in a minute to know each other um let me see who's the lover and who's the hater
i'm gonna guess i'm gonna guess that you're the hater and that you're the lover thank you
yeah yeah is that true i know you're a journalist and i feel like i feel like the i feel like the
the more that you know the more that you hate and i feel like that's i feel like that's where i
gathered that from period yeah no no and i follow you on instagram and i feel like you've got to
really i can tell you love things i can tell you you're seeing the world through a lover's lens
do you think i love things because i'm gay is that a gay thing no no no i know many a gay hater
don't you don't you worry about that i know quite a few gay haters that is
you know and i know straight lovers it could that's that's non-partisan yeah okay equal
opportunity yeah absolutely we do exist on a spectrum yeah yeah yeah yeah it's beautiful
okay follow-up question are you a lover or a hater of comedians hater hater in a huge way
oh my god what you think i would if i could do anything else i would do i can't
it's just this is what i'm good at so it's like this is the lane that i and i also do
personally enjoy it but i i feel the way about comedians that i feel like um a lot of us feel
about like people we went to high school with or it's like oh i'm cool with all the ones that i
need to be cool with yeah we're not accepting any new applications i don't need to no no new
comedians in my life i haven't made a new comedian friend in like nine years who was the last one you
made that's by design the last new probably somebody from snl because i feel like from
working at the show i'm introduced to like comedians that i didn't know before um who shout
out uh who who's a who's an example of this jimmy fowley is this writer at the show who's really
Emile Joaquin. He's a cast member on the show that just got added. All my new comedian friends
are directly people that I've worked with. You said the rest, we're done. We're done.
I don't know. We filled our quota. I've seen enough. You said the door is closed. No, Kamala,
do not come. Do not come. Do not come. Yeah, we've got a bad perception and we've, I'd say,
mostly earned it. I'm just going to say. Yeah, I'm not proud of this. I'm coming out bravely
as a daughter of a comedian. A daughter of a stand-up. A stand-up, a black man from Philly.
Yeah. Who? That's private. What? Louis Dix, Louis Dix II. Let's stop that now. We bleep it from
the audio. No, I don't care. Is that a basketball player? That sounds like a basketball player's
name. Anyway. In high school, my brother was. You might be thinking of him. Yeah, I'm probably
thinking of high school athlete Louis Dix, your brother. Yeah. Whoa, your dad was a comedian.
Whoa. Can't you tell that her dad is a comedian and my dad is a judge?
You're not a judge? I think it comes across. I'm sure this has
been discussed on the podcast at length. I'm sure this isn't new information, but I'm learning
all this in real time. No, it kind of is. We don't often get into the career ambitions
of our fathers. No. Two nepo babies. Just kidding. Not at all. Whoa. That's a judge.
He be locking niggas up. Yo. Get her. Get her again. Get her for me. He be on his Kamala
behavior. Yo. He say, y'all niggas got to get off the streets and into the jails.
He said five to 10 years for you, my best friend. No. Okay. We got to have you back
already. This is over. This is over. No, over. I'm done. Okay. All right. Anyway, so talk
about SNL. So which host was the meanest? I'm waiting for it. No, no. Let's talk about your
tour. So you're just in DC. Yeah, I was just in DC. And you're a lover of DC. I do love
Washington, DC. I got this hat in DC at this. I got this hat in DC. I got this vintage spot called Joint Custody, which is really cool. Oh, familiar. We're
also both children of divorce. Same. Yeah. Oh. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So we can all put our
shoulders down now. We're safe here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. We're all looped in on that. I
think, I think, I do have this talent. I have this like icebreaker game when I'm in a big
group of people that I don't know that well. We're all guests who's a child of divorce
and who isn't. Like whose parents are still together and who's not. Oh, wow. No, you can
always look at a woman and be like, you've packed a to-go bag. Yeah. You know what I
mean? Yeah. You know how to go out in a dash. Yeah. And those, yeah, children of divorce
date comedians a lot because they're used to like staying at apartments that aren't
really awesome. You know what I'm saying? Staying at an apartment that's like good for
a weekend.
in but not really for a life why did i start crying okay i'm triggered and i'm traumatized
have you ever i feel like you're a comedian at jason have you ever dated a comedian before
no you know you dated people with jokes though i've treated me like a joke yeah yeah and i'll
name them and i'll name them yeah but no comedians no i don't like when people are funnier than me
fair and i don't like when people are more online like i love dating like an offline baddie that's
what makes us hard just kidding so devon are you interested in co-hosting another podcast
it's actually an interview i would love to come on and i'm not gonna hold you for people who are
listening to this on the on the audio side i'm sitting in the middle of these two and that is
it's scary you're the judge now it feels like divorce course no this is the first time we've
had a judge or a guest in the center oh this is new yeah yeah yeah we're trying this out for the
first time yeah i couldn't do all white i guess yeah
i will say i did i recorded a episode of z-way and uh this is way more intimidating than that
so black women intimidate you yeah exactly and i'm on the record
how does it feel to be in the middle it's yeah like i feel like i'm on i feel like i'm on the
hot seat i feel like i'm on the hot seat good one time when i was in college i uh one time i was in
college i dated uh two different girls who worked at the same grocery store as me uh and they
basically approached me in this exact way and i was like oh my god i'm on the hot seat i'm on the
nature how did it end well it's like i wasn't i don't we were all still cool because also because
ultimately it was like it was like a college thing where it was like nobody was like serious but like
i was like involved and so at some point they like confronted me not so different than this
and then i was kind of like i was like nobody's i was like nobody's my girlfriend i think we're
all fine here i think we're all friends i'm like you guys can date somebody else who works at the
store if you would like to as well we're just we're 20 years old i think this is fine that's
like literally love island like and we're not close off we're not close i've got i got some
love island takes at some point whenever that comes back up oh and it comes up every week yeah
i know y'all like to talk about that on the show and i do and i've also watched most of the season
of the queer ultimatum don't look at me i know i know i've seen it you said i like i'm trying to
host it so we'll see oh that makes so much more sense there hey look reba no go ahead and say it
that girl's a wacky
as hell why they got her on there it's to me look and i know the dispute the debate is kind of like
should it be a should it be a uh gay woman or a straight woman to me it could be a straight woman
but it just needs it needs to be someone with personality yeah like she is it needs to be
somebody that's like funny and entertaining you absolutely should do it thank you and i would say
even if you were straight i would say that i just i do just think that woman has nothing
there'll be so many like interesting conversations that'll be going on where like somebody will be
like you betrayed me yeah and i can't stand you and i hate you and you're told you're not
this woman that you loved her the other day and she'll be like we've all shared a lot of
interesting things today she'll like steer it back to safety i'm like no no no no no she'll be like
in my marriage to a man here's some lessons that i've learned give us a fuck about what you learned
it's so crazy it's so crazy she's the host of that show we gotta no it's nuts it's it's really
netflix get in contact i feel like this is really attainable i think so too i think you could
actually do this i've got i've got some people working on the back end yeah people on the inside
i have one friend yeah i'm like maybe that's all it takes
um boy tell us about touring though because i do not we were looking at hard pivot i was like i
don't care i'm taking the wheel no do it do it um okay well i want to know like best and worst
things about touring so far um i mean i've only been on one city i was supposed to do philly with
my uh with my friend michael longfellow but uh half of the uh half of the uh people who worked
at the venue walked out they like apparently the venue's under new ownership and uh the i guess
the new ownership is like shitty oh and so yeah like during a performance like half of the staff
you walked out and then the venue sued the employees for like loss of profits because
they didn't have a staff so there's people literally outside the venue picketing and so
i was like all right gotta gotta skip that one yeah and then so dc was the first one and then
this coming weekend i'm gonna be in vegas nice also with michael longfellow yeah i don't know
when this comes out but wednesday oh this wednesday yeah oh if you're if you're in las
vegas on the 11th and the 12th please come to see me and michael longfellow i think there's
tickets available probably if there's not we'll figure it out dm me
you
um okay we want to talk about your podcast tell us about starting it um you know it really kind
of came from a place of like i don't know where to start a podcast like you came from in in your
spirits for me i think i literally was like oh there are so many like there's there's so much
of a bureaucracy in like the entertainment industry there's so many people you have to
like ask to like do something that you want to do to like make a tv show or make a movie i was like
oh i just want to like make something that's like something that i like that's like all the way within
control that like feels like something that i'm interested in where i just like where i control
all the stuff that's really where i came from and it's about it's called my favorite lyrics it's
about rap lyrics and uh just like funny and interesting rap lyrics which is something that
i'm kind of always thinking about and uh yeah that's where it came from i have a very very
very important question what is your go-to karaoke song oh my go-to karaoke song i
my go-to karaoke song is probably if i'm gonna rap yeah i'm doing hey yeah okay really gets
the crowd going yeah uh if i want to sing i'm probably doing i'm probably doing anytime by
brian mcknight or um you're still the one by shania twain oh one of those two yeah not your
audience depending on yes and exactly you also need to be able to pivot depending on like what
type of room you're in yeah you have to have backup you know what i'm saying we all we all
been in the karaoke with the white folks how many are you all right yeah yeah we all been in the
and that's do you ever i don't know if y'all ever feel like this sometimes i'll be doing karaoke
with white people i feel like i understand white people i went to you know i went to pwi like we
all did and uh okay that was too much to guess but you knew yeah clock it i know i know what's
going on but it's like yeah it's like so i feel like i've been around white people but then you
go to karaoke and they'll start bringing out songs when the fuck did y'all learn this that
when did y'all all get this information i've been spending time around y'all and i never learned
at white weddings too they pull up songs i was like wait that's crazy and i never heard them
not once before y'all all know every single word yeah when did that happen you're ready for sweet
caroline you're like oh new one hold on yeah no truly i'm like oh something's been added to the
list yes um do you have any like hard and fast karaoke rules um i would say if you i would say
really my hard and fast karaoke rules are about uh like good singers i think if you're a good
singer i think you need to like lay the fuck off this isn't your moment yeah
if you got a beautiful voice don't try to make this about you don't try to flex if anything like
be quiet about do a song that only has like a little bit just a moment just a moment just show
them for a second but don't be in here belting don't be hitting the mariah carey note that's rude
that's rude and it's like and now you're taking this out on all of us yeah have you ever done
karaoke with someone who's like like a really good singer like all the time it's also like
we did do karaoke that one time me and you yeah the really good singer oh
sorry let me put my branded mug down
do you like what i did there no that was awesome i was having fun thank you that was great that was
great um wait well what are your favorite lyrics all the time do you have any favorite rap lyrics
um man i probably should have one right off rip i will say just like pretty much i'm like a
i was like a teen and kind of like the 2010s and like the late aughts and like 2010s and so i feel
like i'm like a teen and kind of like the late aughts and like 2010s and so i feel like i'm like
i'm like a teen and kind of like the late aughts and like 2010s and so i feel like i really gravitate
towards what like big sean was doing and like nikki minaj because i think they are like are you
a barb their spirit i would never say that i'm a barb i don't know that brings on that comes with a
responsibility like your shift has started actually you know what i mean they're like i
don't think i'm ready to take but like i will say that like they were both doing such a fun thing in
the aughts or in like the 2010s and like the late aughts where they would do like what they called
like the like the hashtag rap yeah you know what they called like the hashtag rap yeah you know what
they called like the hashtag rap yeah you know what they called like the hashtag rap yeah you know
where they'd be like uh i'm about to raise the bar pogo you know do you remember that remember
when they were like rapping like that yeah yeah yeah it's it's going down limbo that style of rap
really really like i want to do a whole big sean episode i want to do a whole nikki minaj episode
because i feel like there's so much there's so much there wow the nikki episode's gonna start
wars i know get ready that's the thing is like maybe i don't do it because i'm so afraid like i
just don't i if i had it my way i wouldn't i wouldn't do it if i had it my way i wouldn't
be on the internet at all and i really don't want to be involved in any internet feuds with like
whatever her community has going on i have a lot i have a lot of thoughts and opinions and
about a lot of uh people with big fan bases but i'm not really i'm i'm even scared just
talking about it that's what i'm saying i have like my spirit's unsettled just even at the
mention yeah anytime we mention the community like we pause just to be like remember we're
just girls like the gun down i saw like my first season uh remember the like try guys scandal oh
i forgot about the guys yeah my first season like a couple years ago uh this this writer who i will
not name because this got him in like so much but he went to college with one of the try guys
guys like wasn't friends with him or anything just like went to school with him wrote a sketch about
it kind of just being like isn't this a silly thing that we're all getting upset about he
literally got doxxed oh he got doxxed by the try guys by the try guys fans that's what i'm talking
about like i don't want i just want to live a peaceful life no that's crazy i just want to
walk around my neighborhood eat scones like i'm not trying to eat scones like i'm not trying to
I don't want the smoke really.
- That's insane.
- I don't want to be a no-brainer.
beef but yeah they had to get like security for him they had to get security for him because
people were sending him death threats because he wrote a sketch on saturday night wasn't it
just about him cheating though it's about him cheating with like a girl who like worked at
the company buzzfeed you will crumble um that's crazy wow yeah okay well we have some favorite
lyrics okay to bring to you i would love your point of view um mine is from what song is it
with SZA and Doja Cat when SZA's like fucking with you feel like jail nigga uh that's uh kiss
me more yeah yeah that's my favorite lyric of all time I think that or the Taylor Swift lyric about
um she thinks that someone's dad is mad because their house is haunted I don't know about this
it's on it's on the folklore song I'm not even a Swifty it's on the folklore song seven
and it's like and I've been meaning to tell you I think your house is haunted your dad's always mad
that must be why like sorry crazy crazy crazy thing she's ever said I love that white woman
your dad's never kind because there's a ghost in there yeah that's what I've said about
I'm not gonna do that again but actually I wrote about that once and like three white
women emailed me and was like I'm I know this lyric is about me of course and I was like wait
what I feel like that's got to be the beauty and kind of the terror of like being look look never
let me not I know you're gonna have a few fan bases
guys
I'm coming for you just generally I feel like that's got to be part of the beauty and the
terror of like being involved in like Taylor Swift's life is like you're reading you you know
she's clearly I can't believe that Taylor and Drake have never collaborated because to me like
there's two artists who like their whole deal is it's the exact same thing yeah yeah they're just
like they're just marketing to like different groups correct you know what I'm saying they
are both like taking tabs on every single person who's ever wronged them every slight they are
taking that and that is going right back into the music you know what I mean especially well
maybe
uh Taylor's version reputation we might get a drink no we're not getting reputation remember
she said oh because she bought her damn things back well she bought oh yeah yeah well that and
also because she was like I tried to do it but listen I got tortured poets department instead
oh that's what hit but it's because Joe Alwyn muse oh okay well my lyric is less of a lyric
yeah it's more of um a cultural moment it's more of a a call to action so I don't know if you're
familiar with the Black Eyed Peas um I've heard have you heard of Ella Funk it's more of a lifestyle
I'm familiar okay I just want to make sure Ella Funk that's their first or their second album
2003 what was it no that was their first like really big album yeah that was the one that had
like uh what is it then father father and what do you think about that god is from above because
people got me got me questioning where is the love come on hunter no
where is the love
it just ain't the same oh I actually forgot the rest but the part where the line where it's like
um uh what's wrong with the world mama people acting like they ain't got no mama
oh we're already we're already done we're already wrapping up come on now come on shake the table
everybody's talking about Nas everybody's talking about Tupac everybody's talking about Biggie
everybody's talking about Jay-Z ain't nobody ever talking about Will.i.am,
also how old are you this is now the breakfast club
how old how old were you guys when you realized that Will.i.am was just like he just put dots
between his name I was I was like 17 I was 30 I was like oh his name is William that's just
he just put dots anyway so that's like Flo Rida yeah oh Florida yeah yeah Flo Rida if you're
if you're watching come to the come to the pod we'd love to talk to you that
just hit me sorry I've been hit
the second plane's at the tower
it's like it's too it's too close yeah I apologize um okay the other thing I want
to talk about yes uh Drake's abs yeah real or fake lover hater
come on guys come on guys come on guys I feel for I feel for Drake I feel for
Drake because he he's reaching for something that I don't think he like even needs to try and find
like we don't need Drake with abs that's never that's never that's not the type of man that we
need him to be yeah that's not his calling that's not his calling he's supposed to you need to leave
that for like k-pop singers and like niggas like you know like like Usher like Usher's supposed to
have abs yeah Drake and titties Usher's titties oh my god oh men have titties okay I don't know
if you heard about gender no no no I'm learning I'm learning I'm learning I'm learning I'm learning
I'm learning something new I just learned about ushbucks like a year ago a year ago you learned
about ushbucks probably oh you're talking about like five years ago damn see wow wow what a
beautiful thing to have um that's crazy okay so Drake doesn't need abs what's the latest Drake
thing he posted that photo of his abs but it was crazy that it was like like the bar he drank so
I was like that's what you're drinking I'm assuming that's at like a hotel it looked
like some kind of like nasty hotel yeah that's not like he doesn't live there overall though
lover hater of Drake I love Drake I love Drake how old are you I think I'm 34 I think Drake just
it's like very millennial core like he really hit it just the right time I'm 30 okay but I think
that's here she goes that's what you picked up right of course no it's like spiritually I can
I think that's what you picked up right of course no it's like spiritually I can
we all graduated high school within four years of each other but I think if you remember listening
to take care like in high school or college like Drake hits different for you yes yeah and that is
uh take care came out when I was maybe like I think I was like 20 years old it's just I think
Drake like his whole deal was happening at the exact right time for like a teenage boy yeah
that's what I mean that's what I'm saying the exact wrong time for a teenage girl sure to be
on the receiving end of a teenage boy of course he powered the wrong girl of course because
like Drake's whole like ethos is kind of like none of this is my fault
none of what has gone on here has anything to do with me and like she shouldn't have acted like
that yeah if she didn't act like that then I wouldn't be like this it's rare to be like that
and also be like sweatpants hair tied chill with no makeup on that's another prettiest I hope that
you don't take it wrong like I took it wrong strictly works out to Drake sorry like everyone
else in the world um said you're a lesbian girl me too he didn't care
with that one you know what actually that's that's truly that's definitely one of the lyrics that like
made me want to do this podcast really that's absolutely because it's just because where's
your where's your mind at friend where's your mind at that you're like I mean but Drake kind
of is like a Drake's kind of a male lesbian he's bi he's definitely lesbian bye don't put that on
my community no I think what makes him bi because one the desperate need for attention just kidding
yeah I was about to say oh they're gonna get me I'm not calling you out I'm calling you in
sometimes it's fine I can say what I want I mean aren't we all that great let's break that
conversation you know what I'm saying I've been trying look I was gonna dab you let me stop I keep
trying to like create community here I just want a close-up of just that anyway let's do that um
we're so far over time because we love king with you but this was so fun oh that's the whole thing
yeah I was over actually I was geared up to do this for another half hour I thought we had a full
hour on deck I wish we did
because we're talking about love island later I was like you might as well stay that's what I'm
saying I thought we was gonna okay all right damn no you're pissed now you get up and leave
he's like throw the mug away like I was ready to get into I was specifically I watched a couple
extra episodes of stuff just because I was like I know that's what's happening you're watching
after sun just okay then let's take us out with that who who do you want to win yeah island no no
no here's but here's here's my here's my thing about love island just sort of were you silenced
or were you silent it's here here's my
here's my thing about it is I man and see I now that I know it's about to be over like I feel
like I can't really go all the way into it no just drop a bomb I do I do feel like watching
love island now has really made me realize that like my girlfriend thinks that I don't like reality
tv but what I actually think is that I we like we actually grew up during the like peak time for
reality television and like it could only go it could only go downhill from from tiffany pollard
you feel me it's like that's the perfect and also now like you have a like now all
these people are so self-aware about the fact that they like want to continue their careers
in reality television yeah and they want to like they want to be as likable as possible so they're
not being their full selves when you watch love island when I watch that show I'm like nobody's
talking about anything you know what I'm saying when's the last nobody on the I remember one
person I forget who it might have been jeremiah was like oh yeah like I'm a big fan of like
miyazaki films and I was like that's the first time I've ever heard a single person mention a
film or any piece of art on any level that show really bugs me out because I'm like
nobody's doing anything yeah nobody's doing anything nobody's ever drunk nobody has sex
that's for a reason and they are like crazy on this show actually are they yeah they took
it out yes yeah but oh they take it out they and there was apparently an item about how the
producers on this season were like stop especially sierra and nick it's like what else is anybody
supposed to do in there well they're in they're in community maybe make breakfast yeah make avocado
toast that does pancakes but I do know what you're saying of like oh it's like it's so it feels so
produced it feels produced it feels it feels sanitized yeah I miss also you know I feel like
also being a teenager when jersey shore dropped I just don't think we're ever going to get
get anything like that again and i think i'm i think i yearn for that yeah i think i yearn for
like actual psychopaths on television the letter that's how i feel about atlanta housewives yeah
sure yeah sure everybody's like oh yeah peter thomas um okay i have one more question for you
are you a lover or hater of what is it ice man drake song it's the new album i think is going
to be ice man the new song is called uh one second what's it called it's called what did i miss oh
what did i miss what did i miss lover hater i would say i'm a hater of that just from the stance
i do love drake generally i do think he's kind of he's lost his way in terms of like where he's at
you mean kendrick calling him a pedophile at the superbowl that was tough i was there i went to the
superbowl i took my dad to the superbowl my dad's a big eagles fan wait that's so nice is he from
philly uh he's from harrisburg oh okay yeah yeah which is like you know an hour or so away but uh
yeah i was there and it was a really really brutal moment for somebody for somebody who like showed
us so many nice times
you know what i'm saying for somebody who's brought so much joy to like so many parties
and like drives that we've done totally like for us for a stadium full of people to turn their back
on drake i understand why he's upset and so many people came out and started talking about how he
was a piece of shit i was just like we're being ungrateful on a certain level yeah watching ann
hathaway yell a minor in a crowd it was crazy it was crazy unfortunate too yeah it's that that's
tough and i really feel for her
but i i hate that song i'm a hater of that song in the sense that like i just think it's time for
him to turn the page i don't think he should draw any more attention to that beef he needs to get
back to his roots yeah which is making songs for baddies nokia you know what i was like turn the
page i'm like why are we going back already that's what i'm saying nokia i was like this is exactly
where he needs to be we're safe here yeah that's that's all he's ever needed to do we don't need
the abs just make songs that girls like at parties yeah we can keep it pushing
so we hey we never do this we've never done this and we're doing it right now which is like we've
been keying so hard that we're just gonna keep carrying you like just for for the viewers at
home the listeners if you will um devon sat up straight when we started talking about love island
so we're keeping devon on to talk more love island so lock in we're about to talk some shit it's about
to get real i don't know actually i'm scared about how this will go we'll see it depends how do you
think about ace we'll get to it
five six seven eight a hot new bombshell has entered the villa so we're talking about island
yeah yeah yeah we got some breaking news that rattled the villa i was watching it i knew it
was gonna happen like it had to happen sierra a hot new bombshell
has left the villa yeah sierra was kicked off of the latest episode we're recording this on monday
by the way comes on wednesday so you know more news could drop um i will say when sierra left
did you hear that audio in the back that allegedly is her yes um so alandra is doing like a confessional
where she's talking about like maybe zach with a k is cute and then you hear someone like kind of
yelling yeah i know with all his teeth um you're someone yelling and they were like that's sierra
in the background like being she like it's kind of like a big hook that comes like yanks her out
because even before
that they like barely even showed her yeah they were like you can't do this apparently in the
background allegedly it might be her saying that yeah or amaya because she loves to scream too
or huda just for any reason many loud women and we should join them but okay so she got kicked off
for using a slur this is now the second cast member possibly there are three that have used
a slur or two so how do you feel about that getting kicked off of a show um
hey guys for anybody's listening don't say slurs you shouldn't do that although i will say i will
say sometimes like i like somebody got in trouble for saying the n-word uh one of them yeah yeah one
of them who was that possibly two yulissa yulissa okay i need to look to see to remember which one
was yulissa again but you would forget she was only in the two episodes okay okay yeah so i think
i completely missed her i do think we gotta sometimes if it's the n-word i think it's got
sometimes it needs to be context opinion you know what i'm saying like like you know what i'm saying
it were you saying it like gina rodriguez where you're like niggas give me you know what i'm
saying you're saying niggas give me a heebie jeebies and you're rapping along to a song
because it's like if i was if if i was if i was white i say nigga in a song you know what i'm
saying i'm in the car by myself like i'ma let a couple fly i'm alone i don't think you should do
it but it's like if you're if you're saying it you know what i'm saying if you're saying it like
in a in like a hard r sort of like uh you know what i'm saying like yeah yeah to your neighbor
on the street you know what i'm saying like if you're saying it like however i imagine like
clarence thomas says it if you're saying it like in that
type of way when he likes slapping if you're saying it in that sort of way then you need to
be removed immediately but i do think we got to look at these in context that's what i would say
but i don't think people should say it overall that's my stance yeah i just don't find love
island to be a teachable moment but i do think you know we can we can have if people really
want to have some discourse let's have it later yeah it's also it's also like these aren't
politicians no they're 24 year olds it's like i don't let it be on the pretend date show
yeah
huda maybe said the n-word yeah of course she did along none of us would even be surprised to
hear that along she was like rapping along to a song and it's like you she kind of says it but
like not really and she's definitely i don't know i think it's she's rapping along what song is it
do you know i can't remember but i think it was a drink song honestly which listen if her drink song
come on he should be saying it yeah a lot of girls with faux freckles be saying the n-word but
of course the thing with sierra though is that she had used it what i saw on reddit is that she'd
used this like slur repeatedly
they called her out on it like a few times like she they called out on a few times and someone was
like hey this is like just so you know like this is like actually like a really like like um offensive
term and she said oh okay thank you for telling me i didn't mean it that way though but thank you so
much that is funny but like thank you so much kind of funny okay another epic moment in uh what
sunday night episode yeah are we team nicolandria hands in
hands in for interracial love not that one no oh no oh why don't you say more about that i don't
know i think i just i think i genuinely i think because in the way that i understand it that
relationship was born out of like they were both about to be off the show no that wasn't no no can
we educate you please because nick's queen bring him to the table well listen educate me nick had
been choosing alandria wanting to be with her like coupling up not coupling up but like paired with
her in like games they would always find each other they would always like be partners together
but he was like with in a couple with sierra and obviously alandria was so delusional about taylor
but they like really built a like solid friendship and then when they both got off in casa and like
came back together it really felt like i just have to say it felt like written in the stars it is but
also like producers yeah yeah yeah uh you know you know what i i will say like i've got to admit my
experience with nick is like when you're talking about like white man black woman i'm like you're
like yuck i live in bedside enough enough i've seen it already like that's you know something
else especially with an ass like hers that's it we need a new pairing you know what i'm saying
but nick is like nick walked up and was like what's bracken like nick and you're saying that's
good no i'm like but you're saying that's why he should he has black friends and not not in a crazy
way and like a normal like these are like his brothers so our way yeah yeah i was like brother
brothers you know i didn't know that that's adding new content that's what he's like a white
boy from florida who like really like you've seen his epitome of like we rock with mark because mark
is rocking with us yeah very that very that i do feel like with any white man or woman like white
people who like date a lot of black people i feel like you gotta look at you gotta look at their
friend group yeah you gotta look at their friend group because it's like if you look at their friend
group and they really got black homies you really look at their when they go on vacation consider
the source you know what i'm saying like look who's on vacation if ain't no another
niggas on a vacation except for the one boyfriend or girlfriend then it's like you're in trouble
i'll be seeing them photos i'll be like brother you gotta run you you gotta run this is not a
safe space for you my boy you gotta get out of here so actually i'd like to let me put my hand
in i think that's thank you now that i've realized i'm back in loving virginia on three two one
no i'm very i feel like you know we've been in the trenches people didn't believe us they thought
they thought we were fake they thought we were delusional yeah we were no no but now we're so
back and you know who is um producing on the field nick and alandria ariana ace a ace he ace is a
producer on this show he really is he's a field producer he's he's on the scene every single time
so i love ace how do you feel about ace hey just one big overall question just when it comes to ace
why that nigga hat so big
oh no no no no i am thinking about ace because taylor wears the cowboy hat ace who's five years old
ten yes i don't think allegedly no on a good day with some heels i saw on the internet somebody
called him scrappy dude that's really funny to me not even scooby damn they called him a little
he seems like but i'm just saying he's always because taylor wears the cowboy hats yeah ace
is always wearing these like big ass fitted caps with no logos on them they always look so crazy
it's just it's just because sometimes rich people will wear like a plain hat it don't look like that
it's not succession no it looks it looks like he had fitted from fittings from nba teams
or like nfl teams or whatever and they were like hey we can't put those logos on the thing so we
just gonna give you this plain blue hat just a plain blue hat that you could rock backwards
and it looks like if he pulled it down a little bit it'd go over his ears like a
beanie this is such a specific drag it looks crazy that's the thing about him you know and
it was also also i just learned that he raps don't unlearn it well don't educate well he dances he
dances that's his occupation is dancing he loves it yes he teaches people around the world in like
big zoom rooms how to dance i saw it was like him and a bunch of guys in like pakistan and they were
like yeah no i've got the video i'll show you guys and he's he's he's being like jujar like
seven six yes he's like that's he's like we need some more shoulders from you samir he was doing
that i mean i like when i spread joy yeah i like when a man pops blocks and drops really in that
order in that order yeah i think it's fun like benson boone fan oh well we didn't say all that
though we didn't say all that well it's fun well i said it are you a taylor fan let my band taylor
oh taylor with the taylor with the hat yeah yeah with taylor another shall not kill ape
do you support do you support stem lesbians
uh in general sure yeah stem lesbians lesbians and stem all that stuff we need more lesbian
scientists people aren't talking about that we can wake that conversation up you know what i'm
saying let's talk about that taylor um i don't it's just like who's he with right now oh he's
now clark the new oh the new girl yeah i see yeah i'd be recommended i would she's but he did
alandria dirty and we don't love that sure if you have to search to find the beauty in alandria it's
like what are you doing it's just giving colorism that's all it is like it really feels like just
because she's like darker skin but he's like i don't know acting towards acting to her crazy
let's have that conversation and that's you know what i'm saying hand down i'm no i'm willing to
talk about it um but but i just don't like taylor i think he's too goofy he's too goofy he's too
silly he's too like uh he's so annoying yeah we obviously can't talk about love island without
talking about amaya papaya amaya of papaya fame of course yeah
yeah her are you a fan lover hater or maya um i think i think she brings a fun presence and vibe
i will say in general it did shock me to learn that she doesn't speak spanish
that that shocked me because i was i was like will you what i've never heard anybody who's
english sounds more like a person that speaks spanish and then i learned that she didn't and
i was like well how did how did we land here how did we land here and it's like new york did she
say that she doesn't speak spanish i learned this somewhere i read this somewhere don't ask me where
we're not even we're
we just took it i love no that's why i'm about to isn't that what's happening all the time isn't
are we all just doing no i'm saying things with my chest all the time yeah just being like i don't
know i saw it somewhere yeah i don't think she yeah but she is a i i don't know i feel like she
speaks english or speaks spanish i hope so we can find this out she's dominican she's yeah yeah
because she asked that one guy she's like what are you are you white and he's like yeah my family's
from michigan she's like oh so just american i'm dominican yeah i just i love and i live for an
yes and she has many
many many a bar she does yeah some i might bring into the room with us right now oh if you're please
do if you're willing to be educated yeah um oh wait god where do i one when she's dragging zach
with all of his teeth yes he she says to him you're an extremely odd individual and i don't
ever want to talk to you again whoa i just love an extremely odd individual but then there is oh
wait what's the better this one's a little better when she goes baby i'm standing on business today
last time i checked i got 10 toes not one toe missing so i'm gonna stand on
business on my 10 toes so many words i i love they're gonna get mad at me again what they're
gonna get mad they're literally gonna get mad at me again what say it i i like amaya i appreciate
her ascendance like the it girl of the villa now but i would never keep with her i don't want to i
wouldn't she's like not she we wouldn't be friends i think we'd enjoy one boozy brunch no yeah she's
too just like i don't know she's let me set the scene
yeah let me set the scene all right it's a it's a sunday afternoon you're at one of those day
parties where there's like a dj but the dj like the d you can still hear and you can still talk
to people but eventually the music gets turned up a little bit for sure you meet her at one of
those types of functions you know you maybe don't sit down and talk to her the entire time but as
the night continues i see what you y'all develop a rapport for sure and then by the end of the night
when the music's really loud you're like that's my bitch that's my bitch like lifelong friend who i
never see again yeah totally you're taking a shot with her and you're like i would die for you
and that's fine yeah we don't need to lock into amaya forever we don't need to go together but
we will we will have one hard night out i do think that because someone that says quote i'm not going
to get a sugar rush from all the word candy you're feeding me does there's at least one
i'm like what are you talking about exactly you look for sense hunter you have to put it away put
it down put the common sense down find joy and love that's how you know who's a lover and hater
you're gonna tell me that couldn't be a taylor swift lyric you're lying to me oh that's the
thing to me oh it's i said yeah no yeah i love that none of it makes sense it makes me feel safe
and at home because most of my thoughts make um no logical sense and it's just that's how you
community build is you just say whatever and let it come out of your mouth they're just girls look
at us we got a podcast we're saying what the fuck ever so am i on let me say this yeah okay
movie night is coming up so i don't know if you're familiar movie night is when they play
clips of the show for like the current cast to see like what they would have missed like you
know one-on-one scenes and i was kind of okay bear with me here what is going to be crazier
sierra coming out of the villa being like you're canceled or sierra watching nick and alandria carry
on kissing making out flirting the entire season and her being like wait what the fuck well i'm
paying top dollar for the latter i'm paying all the money i have it's like a like an ancillary
episode like just watching sierra learn about nick and alandria and how everyone wants to be
together yeah that's a crash out i want to see
i'm just kind of learning about this as this aspect of it i know so i'm just kind of taking
it all in you're just like you're like our listeners yeah i'm just taking it i'm just
totally but you're locked into love island did this at least convince you this conversation to
uh yeah i feel like i'm like bouncing in and out my girl's a love island fan hell yeah and i feel
like i'm popping in and out with her she keeps being like oh should i like should i wait for
you to like watch the next episode and i'm like no you don't got to do that but i will like when
we're around each other like when i'm at her place like i'll like i'll watch two episodes in a row
okay i well i i got looped in during the whole like huda jeremiah thing because that was such
i hadn't been watching up to that point yeah and then when that happened i was like okay let me see
what's going on because it like really felt like it took over the internet for like yeah like a
day or two well there's more to come baby but until then where can people follow you um i'm
at internet devon on instagram you can follow me there uh also follow my podcast my favorite lyrics
pod on everything on instagram on tiktok on youtube and uh yeah that's where you can find
me and also come check me out on tour i'm going to a bunch of cities i'm going to nashville i'm
going to atlanta i'm going to houston uh go go check me out i'm gonna it's honestly the shows
are good honestly the shows are good honestly the shows are good we've been having toes
you're gonna have a good time i'll tell you thank you so much thank you yeah thank you guys
let me give you a little update from the uh litter box ew well continue kitty cats are down
we continue to be down when did they get up did they ever get up teenage dream okay
10 back-to-back number one singles only artists michael jackson okay what's up with her um the
girl well divorce has hit her home oh my god i guess not really divorce because they never they
were never technically married but she didn't have a baby she didn't have a baby she didn't have a
have split up after 10 years and one daughter together daisy dove bloom um and i'll tell you
i'm sad i kind of i love those crazy kids together i actually didn't mind them either like they would
always i mean it's kind of funny that they would always complain about being together and like how
they were like always barely hanging on she would that's like everything you know about them is that
they're on the rocks like truly they were so committed to working on their issues in real time
i don't call her daddy and was like oh my god i love i'm no longer attracted to narcissists
but i love when my man does house chores i reward him with oral sex
and yeah and that was like nine years into like couples therapy i think um so just keep that in
mind oh they struggle out loud they struggle out loud for us i know and i did it shock you the news
no i think they've been literally on the cusp of divorce for like literally truly four years i think
sometimes though when couples are so
transparent about it you think that they're really working through it because like
they're living out loud and proud about their problems no but okay and i think you can only
have like a failing marriage and a like flop flopping album and space travel you can only
have you have to choose one because all three it's not gonna wear and what are you choosing
which flop of the three i'm gonna choose a divorce i'm gonna choose a divorce every time because look
you're gonna be so much better stronger healthier after what doesn't kill you makes you stronger
you're gonna hear her
roar and that was actually kelly clarkson yeah sorry sorry put kelly and her divorce out of it
sorry oh yeah we do we're on the breakup battlefield who else broke up uh heim they were all single for
a time oh my god i got no i meant the three of them no no no sorry sorry no no they were all
separately like going through breakups and then they made the new album which it's no woman in
music part three yeah which i was listening to summer girl this morning that greatest song of
the century maybe yeah
after a and w but you know i have to play my role i have to be the lover of the group
oh yeah who's who's coupling up
in the air did you like that no i smelled it i hated that i hated that i want people to know
i'm weird um but we do have we do have some hot new budding couples that i'm really thankful for
uh starting with hallie bailey has a new boo oh i love that for her yeah and i love um tina
commenting forward on her instagram post knowing thank god she's leaving that nasty man in the
past um we also have you know people have their opinions about this but andrew garfield and
monica barbaro yes monica barbaro truly the i mean the best performer in that bob dylan movie
absolutely say it and say it again took it oh my god voice of an angel um i'm happy to see them
together me too yeah i've heard allegations and i won't say what they are but dm me and i'll tell
you so i'm curious turkey turkey no turkey that's not an allegation that's just a truth that's an
honest truth open your eyes yeah no it's a different kind of allegation if you will oh
no
well he did say that um what did he say in one interview he was like
the only thing i've come so close to being gay except for having gay sex it was something like
that that he like watches um what's that tom tom um not tom brady but tom hardy quote i'm an actor
of course i've had gay sex yeah shove it andrew whoa shove it um but last but not least oh wait
two more couples i want to talk about one gracie abrams and paul metzger passed around paul metzger
how do you feel about that you can pass me around that's how i feel about that
um but i thought they were i thought they were broken up you said that like like a true hoe that
was nice that was good that was with your chest too oh i thought they were together i thought they
were just at some concert i i feel like they're always on and off but you know just like
nicolandria it's it's him and it's him and um the normal people oh yes that girl um i hope they're
endgame for me and last but not least curveball for you um did you see those photos of kate hudson
and dakota johnson you know i did and someone texted me to ask are they gay are they gay
together and you said i'll text peyton and find out i said i don't think so but i'm praying they're
bumping purses if that's true please god let it be we need something good i don't know why but i
feel like it's like very kind of like incest but i think i'm thinking because they both have like
mothers who are like like goldie hawn and um nepo babies can't scissor is that what you're trying to
say bump purses sorry is that the pg way we're gonna say
no maybe i'm lying what would you think would you be pro i want to be involved oh i guess it's a
lovely time to go to paris i love the eiffel tower i love the view so we'll keep a i almost
