Chris Lofton bought the Rick Ross rat snacks? No, no, no, no, no. I paid for it. In my defense, Rocket is here. I said, man, those are good, but I'm not getting them. I just can't make myself. Pour them out? He said, pour them out the bag. He said, so we're going to buy them, and we're going to pour them out the bag. Last one to the airport buys breakfast. Buy breakfast. Day one, day one. Day one. That's going to be the intro of the episode. You just bought Rick Ross rat snacks. No. It should be. It's going to be. No. Don't do that to me. I'm going to. Rebuttal yourself. I did rebuttal. I said, fuck this guy. You ate a couple, and you poured them out. Yes. All right, we'll leave it at that. End of the episode. I didn't buy them. I'm not going to say who did, but I didn't buy them. What's up, bro? What the fuck's been up? I've been chilling. Yeah? I've been chilling. I've been chilling. How's everything been? Life's good? Life's great. You got a girl right now? Do I got a girl right now? Girls love me. Bro, people don't know how funny you are. That's why I'm excited for this. People generally don't know how funny you are. Girls love me. He's got a lot of girls right now. I don't know about that. I don't want that to be my image. Whoa. Whoa. Just because he said he liked the thick one don't mean he got a lot of girls. You got to relax. So sometimes you got to just tell him to relax. Chris stole my chain. Your boyfriend can't cook. I came up with that. I just want everybody to know this. Did he? I want everybody to know this. My mother's podcast. Chris is a klepto. He can't cook better than me. He said he can't cook better. Wait, you cook up? Yes. What do you cook? Everything. I cooked for Thanksgiving this year. Yeah? Did you? I cooked for Thanksgiving, too. Rocket was gone. He was sick. Rocket was sick. I cooked. He had just left my house. He was sad. Yeah. What'd you make? What'd you make? What's your best dish? See, I could do everything, but I like doing soul food dishes. I do baked chicken. My favorite meal, though, is a struggle meal. Fried chicken and spaghetti. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah. That ain't struggle, nigga. That's a good night. But you know, you could feed a whole family $20 spaghetti. Yeah, facts, facts. You know what I'm saying? But if I really just wanted to cook, I'd do candy yams, macaroni, probably some greens. Oh, you're making? Greens? Some type of, yeah, for sure. Okay, see, I ain't made greens yet. I know I could, but I ain't never made. I ain't never made none. Who's your girlfriend? You never made greens, and you have a brand called Your Boyfriend Can't Cook? I ain't never made greens. I never had to make greens. Every time, I ain't never made them. Wait. Before, since we asked me this question, what are your girlfriend's names? Since we're putting people on the spot. I don't have a girlfriend. Bro, I don't think I ever will. So you're just slaying shit. Yeah. Well, I'm not even slaying. Honestly, dude. I've been, like, celibate this year. I've been locked in. I just don't want distractions. I thought Gianni was a good guy. I don't want distractions, bro. Like, I just don't want distractions. Like, I'm locked in. And realistically, women don't bring me happiness. Do men? No, no, no. Don't clip that now. All I'm saying is, like, me being in a relationship, and being with a girl, and spending, like, a weekend with her or that, that don't make me happy. It make me feel isolated. I don't have fun. I have fun when I'm doing this, or I'm with the boys, or I'm, like, out somewhere, like, laughing. And, like, that's my fun. Comfort for some people might be having a girlfriend. It's just not it for me. So I know what makes me happy. Are you a relationship guy? I'll just be. I come from a small family. So I'd be one of that family. I'm not going to lie. Like, when I got my family around, it should just be, like, it'd be better for me because, like, I'm, like, a wild card. Right. Now I feel that. I be needing that stability. Right. Like, I'm not saying I have stability right now. I'm not saying I don't have stability. I'm saying your boyfriend can't cook. Hey, no, thank you for all these plugs. I'm going to clip that. You're going to be the new spokesperson. Hey, Rocket, he did it for free. I don't owe y'all nothing. You seen that? Yeah, you're getting a bill after this. Do you feel like that's hard with the lifestyle that you live? Like, being a rapper and, like, do you think? No, you don't think that's hard? No. Bro, what about, like, I say this, like, my older brother, okay, lives in Vegas. He has a, he's engaged now. He lives, he has a normal job. He would have to go out of his way to cheat. He would have to pursue someone to cheat. No one's trying to come after my little, my older brother. Now, me and you and Chris. Don't say me. No, no, no. I'm not a cheater. No, I'm not saying you're cheating. No one wants to cheat with Skilla Baby. All I'm saying is. If you love me and you just happen to want to be in a relationship with me, I would not cheat on you. Don't listen to Gianni. No, I'm not saying that you're cheating. What I'm saying is you, me, and Chris, we're in the spotlight. Gianni's a cheater. Damn it, bro. I'm just saying, like, if we go to Vegas, right, and you, and Five brings you out on stage, right, there's going to be 20 girls in the audience that DM Skilla Baby and go, you was looking fine on stage. Like, don't shake your head because you know what happens. It happens to me. I'm behind the DJ booth and I get three girls doing it to me. So, what I'm saying is, is that's not harder for you to, like, to temptation? I don't know anything about any DMs, Gianni. You media trained him well, Rocket. Wow. I don't know anything about DMs. No DMs for me. But, do I have temptations sometimes? Yes. It's beautiful. There's people in the world. He's only human. He's just a man. Yeah, like, I peak, you know what I'm saying? I take my look and I'm like you, like I'm locked in. Right. Yeah, I'm not saying you're doing anything crazy. I'm just saying that temptation being a rapper is probably, and even more than an actor. Oh, yeah, for sure. Like, people, like, rappers are like, you know, you make a song about tricking. Like, come on. I don't know what you're talking about. But, I do always tell that the girls, you're only, a man is only as faithful as his options. And that's just what it is. what do you mean by that it's like it's easier how you just said it's easier for somebody with less options to appear or be faithful right then it is somebody whose options are plentiful it's it's much harder and to me dare i say that's a much more of a grander gesture right that's why they say a man's loyalty is tested when he has everything right a man a woman's loyalty is tested when he has nothing yeah it's interesting a woman's loyalty is tested when the man has nothing and a man's loyalty is tested when he has everything that's that's profound that is that's what it is that's that's just how the world that's the yeah bro and that's how it is so that's why a man is only as faithful as his options because of that reason because hell yeah you all you got to do you got to go to work and come home and do this like what the fuck your options ain't it's plentiful wait so you're saying i'm only faithful because i don't have options no but i'm saying it's more the fact that you are and you have all these options a woman i'm not saying she should worship the ground you walk on but i feel like that's that's better than a nigga who i feel like you got a regular job and i'm saying i got options you do bro it's not it's not hitting you got options you're popping stop saying i have options i feel like that's like a narrative that you're you guys are we're putting out there because i came in here with rocket bro but we know you came in with your manager and you know girls nobody's with them nothing you didn't even come you came in and i respect that because you're taking your crap seriously but you have options and that's fine that doesn't mean that you're doing it you get what i'm saying i'm definitely not doing it right okay good and there we go good so maybe not doing so let's go back to when you didn't have options so you grew up in detroit how old were you when you knew you wanted to do music i was probably because i originally played basketball right so i was a boyfriend that was doing music and stuff and he produced and stuff he let me go to the studio i tried it everybody was like you could you could do it and then i knew basketball was running out for me everybody was going into gym i started on my team i had good numbers and stuff but everybody was going to gym working out i didn't want to do this yeah like niggas was big like yeah i played once you said one six six six six seven you're like this is not yeah like niggas is tallest hill biggest hill lifting weights i'm I don't know. - He said, "I'm cold." - But I still love that. basketball, but it's just like once it turned in from fun to, oh yeah, we're depending on you to make it out the hood. No, yeah, y'all can have it. I'm cool. What was the first song that you made that you're like, holy shit, I could do this? You sure about that? Why am I losing my mind? No, because I had moments where I'd be like, oh, I could do this, and then I'd have it turn off for me. I'd be like, man, I'm still trying the same shit. So I made my first song, and I went viral at my school. So then that was a cool moment. But then you get older, and life started hitting you, and you got to go to work. You got to go to work, and you're still trying to do this shit. So I had a second moment to where I made another song, and I went viral in Detroit. It was like, I think it was called Womack or something like that. Boom. Then I had like a third moment right after I had got shot on two different occasions. First time I got shot. Boom. I had a moment like either right before that or right after where I had had this song. It was gone. Boom. And then I'm like, damn, I could really do this if I really bite down and really take it serious. You know how you would be like, you would love acting or something. You guys love acting. But until you get the response that you want, it's like, all right. Because I'm like. Moving into the acting space, I'm like, all right, I be seeing the extras and stuff. They take their craft real serious, too. So it's like, all right, that's cool. They satisfied with that. But then I had a moment when I was recording. I was filming for DR. And when I was recording, the whole. Because you know everybody expecting me to be Skillet Baby. So then when I come in there like, damn, I'm Trayvon. I want to take it serious as you guys take it. So I walk in there and I do my thing. And they could tell I've really been rehearsing my lines and stuff. And you could hear a pin drop in there. Everybody just saying, oh, the little acting that I'm doing, that I'm taking it serious. And it's like, that's where I get a kick out of music, too. It's like, when people could tell the work you put in behind the scenes. I have so many questions from everything you just said. First off, did you have another name at first before Skillet Baby when you first started? Skills. Skills. With a Z? With a Z. With a Z. Where did it come from? I was in second grade and I was playing for this fifth grade basketball team. I walked in there. They told me I couldn't play. And then I told the coach, like, man, I got skills. And I went in there working hard and shit. They let me play. And then we had a nickname there. Because on that team, like, you had to have a nickname. He's like, we're going to call you Skills. And it just stuck for the rest of my life. And then it changed to Skillet Baby because, you know, badass kids. I was playing PAL football. Girl. I was out there calling me Skittle Baby and Skillet Baby and just making fun of me. Yeah. And I just ran with it. Yeah. And the first time that you got shot, was it because of the music? No. Just some Detroit shit. For real. For real. Wrong place. Wrong time. Yeah. And then third, he'd be saying so much stuff by clocking all the questions. Third, is your sister still with the boyfriend that was rapping? No. I'm so curious. Kicked his ass to the curb. Yeah. I'm so curious what he thinks now. Yeah. You pop it. He introduced. He introduced you to this. Is he like, damn it? I don't know if he's like, damn it, but he's still. You owe him a 16. No, I fuck with him, though. Oh, yeah. He just be. I ain't going to lie. I don't like putting people's visions out there, but he be in his own head. I just say that. He get in his own way. He's cold. Yeah, yeah, yeah. But he like, you know those people that want to be so different than others that they stop doing what was fire. Dude, there's so many people like that. Yeah. There's so many people like that, like actors or people in the industry. They get in the way of themselves because they have this like, no, this needs to be the path. And it's like, there's many paths. There's many different ways to do things. I see that as well. In rap, sometimes a motherfucker would be like a fire. Somebody would be like this, right? They would be fire as J. Cole type of artist, or they might be a fire underground type of artist, but they want to look so different that they would go a whole different route and make music. Right. Right. Right. Because all this is really about what the consumer wants to listen to. This is what, even with TV is like, it's what the consumer wants to watch. Right. Even with the NBA, Anthony Edwards has got to be the face because we said so, not because the NBA is going to pick the face. We have to like the face. So it's like, it's what ultimately the consumer wants instead of what you want to do if you want to be successful. Yeah, I definitely like that. So you're popping in Detroit. When does. When does you start like making bread, the record deal come, like when does that all come into play? And how does that change you? I was like. When do you start getting options? In 2022, I started getting booked for shows. I started getting booked for shows. I had a song that was going viral. They started booking me for shows. What song was it? Tay B style. Uh-huh. So boom, I was getting booked for shows and shit. And like the shows would be like 2,500, max 5,000, sometimes like that. Mm-hmm. And then like. The label just started, like I was getting booked so much, labels just started calling me like, they're just like a bunch of labels. And then once I had got signed, like I had T Grizzly, he had was like, he had reached out to me and stuff through mutual people that we know. Mm-hmm. And then we had did a tape and that's how I got the song Gorgeous. I had did the song Gorgeous just by mistake. I was in the studio and I was just coming over stuff. Mm-hmm. Mm-hmm. And I told him like, man, this damn nigga be the biggest song on the tape. Oh, you knew it. I knew it because it just was different, like, you know what I'm saying? But then I had my next song, boom, I was getting booked and shit. My price went up to like 10,000. My next song I had, Ride 49 is signed to the same label as me. So boom, they was been trying to connect us and stuff. Me and my cousin Tay B, he from Detroit, we was at the BET Awards. We talking to Rob on the phone, just making fun of him and shit. So when we did the My My song, I was just, my verse was really first. Like, I was really trying to make fun of Rob, like, the whole day. Like, I was never going to put that song up. I was making fun of Rob 49. That's why, like, all our verses sound the same. I was making fun of him. But then when I got done with the song, everybody, G Herbo was in there, too. They was like, this a hit. This a hit. Yeah. I'm like, huh? I ain't really care. But then it ended up being a hit. And my project started, went from 10,000, 15,000. Then I started getting 50,000, 60,000 a show. Shit went up. Like, I started, it's just a ripple effect. You know how that shit be like. Yeah, it was just all organic. And then I started going to the studio with a plan. Like, formulating a plan of how I get these type of results. Which can't help and hurt you. Because on the other end, it's like, all right, you keep making these type of songs. And it put myself, I put myself in a bind. In a box, per se. Like, now they like, you're the girl rapper. Which is not bad. But it's like, when you're doing art, it's like, even when you guys are acting, you don't want to just be the gangster on TV. You want to do some funny shit. You want to do some romance shit. You want to do everything to showcase your inner, like, you can do all things. Like, within this space. Yeah, I know. I feel like with Power, we got lucky. Because my character got to be funny. My character got to be a gangster. My character got to do romance. I was kind of blessed in that way. I got to do everything on that show. But you're 100% right. Like, I want to do a fucking hangover. I want to do, you know, a sitcom at one point. Like, there's everything that I want to do. I love podcasting. Like, I love meeting people who I respect as artists. Like, coming and sitting down and talking to them. Like, there's so much that I want to do that I feel like, yeah, as a rapper, it must be hard because you get put in a box a lot easier. But, which is why I fuck with you doing acting shit. Because it's like, yeah, you can kind of go back and forth. Whereas before. Like, I feel like you couldn't do a lot of stuff now. But, like, now, like, you know, DDG talking about how he's streaming, acting, doing all this stuff, doing music. Like, there's kind of no box anymore. But people still try and put you in one. But, you know, like, I think, like, that mindset, like, held us back for the longest. Because, like, if you really think about, like, what the old traditional celebrity was, they did everything. People like Tupac or Ice Cube. Or all the old traditional celebrities. It was like entertainment. It wasn't just, I'm doing this. Like, you know what I'm saying? So I feel like entertainment is moving back to that space to where you have to showcase your talents on all skills. Like, Will Smith type of things. Will Smith has a Snapchat account. Jack Black has a YouTube account. Like, we're in the, like, movie stars are, like, doing multimedia now because they're like, how do I do this? You're a movie star. You don't have to do it. But if they're doing it, I'm like, I got to do it, too. You know what I mean? So yeah, that is crazy. but go on with what you're saying because i agree it's just the idea that like somebody asked me like when did you feel like you make it and i feel like you never should feel like you made it i feel like the idea of will smith for jackson black having a youtube or a snapchat is because they don't feel like they've made it yet right i'm saying millions of dollars in hundreds of millions of dollars in they still don't feel like they made it because like you can always elevate yourself nobody's perfect but god so it's like right you know especially if you vision returns for the final chapter of the groundbreaking trilogy that family wasn't real you sure about that i had a father called vision how is this possible don't miss the two episode premiere of marvel television's vision quest nothing bonds a family together quite like mortal jeopardy now streaming only on disney plus you not that you made it but you're like holy shit like i'm fucking famous like did you have a a clear moment that you remember or was just so like it'd be different moments like when i was walking through like like when i walked through detroit i go through schools and stuff kids chasing me out to schools or certain celebrities i've met that i've really um watched growing up i just seen usher again he's telling me how he respects me um it's just like that like even with um erica campbell she's a gospel icon like just meeting people like that and they telling you that they know who you are you've been watching them since you were six years old right it's like yeah moments like tabby like dang i am famous like you know what i'm saying but it'd be like erica campbell is the girl from mary uh mary mary right yeah i just saw you post that bro like that's that's dope speaking you mind speaking on that that journey with you doing the gospel song and and that whole situation where uh you say you i was god into your life i was going through like i always had god into my god in my life right and like i always had my own relationship with god but certain situations you grow through it makes you grow faster than you normally would so like last year you know i went through the little thing where i got shot and stuff like that they shot in my truck boom so i'm working on my album while i'm working on my album my president on my label he's about to get baptized so i'm like all right i'm gonna go with you because i just i needed the word nobody know what headspace i was in i just needed the word i had i was in my own head about certain things that was going on not even just the shooting all type of things that was going on in my life so i just went to the church but not knowing the pastor was a person that he already had introduced me to which was a producer that produced for tupac but we were saying um i forgot what that place was called but we was in like a private lounge down here jermaine dupree him a whole bunch of old guys that's involved in music and stuff but needless to say like there was that room was just powerful but then i met warren campbell which is tupac's old producer he produced like 17 songs on all eyes on me i get to the i get to the um to the church and he was the pastor and that's just like crazy because if you know warren campbell warren campbell that's how it is he ain't sugarcoating he ain't like so churchy to where it comes off like he's judgmental yeah so like like i asked him i asked him like and i'm gonna get back to the church part but i had asked him one time like and like i'm thinking about doing some bullshit like i'm really on the edge of doing some bullshit and i was asking him like like the advice and he's like you're not really fighting right and wrong you fighting what's right and what's why so what's the right and wrong decision might not be the decision that you're facing you might it might be right for you to go do some bullshit but is it wise with the position that you in so once he said that it was like that i'm like damn i like him as a pastor because he ain't even he ain't even trying to tell you man the bible said he's telling you how it really is you know i'm saying as a man you know i'm saying and that's how he preached too like he preached out the bible but he's preaching to you as a man man to man human to human so when i went to the church and they was like man that's erica campbell that's mary mary i'm like damn and they just act the normal there's normal people in there like they just celebrating god praising god so like when i come to cali on sundays i go there like you know i'm saying because i just feel like home there like you know i'm saying like it ain't like too pushy to where like you have to come here they just celebrating god you know what i'm saying that's fine so and you get a it's fine fire like the the praise and worship um team there is fire they singing they doing like you just it's like a big god party like party celebrating god and i'll just i'll just appreciate their church for what they did for me in the moments that i really needed i want to go that's respect you know that's fine yeah i would love to go that sounds awesome i'll take y'all for sure um uh who who's someone obviously besides 50 like it's cool because 50 brings us out during big rich town and we're whatever we're saying but you come out and 50 brings you out and you do your own songs that's sick first off but besides 50 because i know that's probably would be the answer maybe i'm not gonna put words in your mouth but who's someone that you met that you're like wow this is nuts someone that i met that i was or worked with or did a song with like usher chris brown travis scott um it'd be the older people that i really like monica she's always brandy that was fire like i'd admit some people that i was like when i seen when i seen ll cool j he was like detroit i'm like what ll cool j he yelled at detroit i'm like oh my god yeah that's great um he just i met um 112 that was fire like maya just all the older people that you would think like they don't know nothing about me snoop dog was like hell yeah i know who is like i'm gonna kick it with you like i'm like damn mama it just i'll be meeting so many people that it just be like every time it'd be a moment and i always call my mom and i'll be like my look you know what i'm saying that that'd be the moment that really make me happy when my mom be getting the um the little screenshot on the phone exactly yeah that's definitely you gotta have something you gotta have a why have you have you met eminem yet or no i haven't met eminem is that is that a bucket list thing that's on my bucket that come on man i'm from detroit yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah every like see this the thing with eminem right everybody thinks like detroit rappers and stuff be disrespecting eminem and like we don't fuck with eminem the problem is we fuck with him so much like the fact that we can't reach out to him and contact him and that shit like our that like bro is eminem the best rapper ever is from detroit and that'd be like the disconnect he'd be like the best rapper ever and that'd be like the disconnect he'd be like the best rapper ever and that'd be like the disconnect he'd be like the best rapper ever and from detroit i just want to like be in the same room as him you know what i'm saying and that'd be the disconnect between us and what people be thinking about us and eminem like we really with him the long way like it's eminem bro like he's like the most iconic rapper ever bro you know what i'm saying like when you're really putting up numbers and statistics it's eminem like you know what i'm saying like so yeah he's like batman he like he don't go anywhere right he hides out the only yeah the only thing that i really like about eminem is like he's like he's - The only time you gonna see Eminem is when the Detroit Lions play and they gonna, be in the building they're gonna show them on the big screen and they're gonna play lose yourself and the whole stadium gonna go crazy and then that's it yeah or or if 50 comes to town you'll see him that's what you got to do you got to go next time 50s in detroit you're not gonna see eminem though 50 and eminem not they're not gonna tell you they in detroit like eminem is like you gotta think it's eminem bro no but i'm saying he just walks around normal that's eminem bro like you're not gonna know where eminem's at yeah but if 50 has a show in detroit like on if he tours again which he will 50 loves touring he will uh eminem will pop out in that detroit show you got to pull up to that one and pop out with that for sure that's the way to do it i just want look this the thing like i don't even want anything from eminem i just want to be like what's up em yeah i feel that like i just want to be like listen bro like so who your top detroit rappers detroit rappers like of all time uh before we get off him though i want to just tell him like my mama used to tell me eminem was my daddy what like my mama used to tell me eminem was my daddy she used to tell my sister justin timberlake was her dad like we all had white dad we all she just she i guess she just wanted us to have white dads like white imaginary dads like she used to be like yeah you're dead yeah i forgot who my other sister dad was but mine was eminem my other sister dad was eminem my other sister dad was eminem was with Justin Timberlake and then somebody else was my other sister she used to tell us that like and that was your dad like what have you met your dad like are you yeah my dad I just didn't know if like you didn't know it wasn't that situation it wasn't like oh yeah this this yeah I didn't know if I'd be dead black guy no it wasn't that no why are you laughing it wasn't that it wasn't that it wasn't that it wasn't that it wasn't that funny because before you ask any more questions it's like wait so have you met your dad I get why you would ask that yeah why was she telling us this was our dad if our dad was in our life he's like in the house and he's like hey I'm your dad she was a single mom though she ain't give a fuck about what our daddy was thinking yeah shit it was it was like a joke like she was just it was a run-on joke for our whole life like Eminem's your dad yeah okay and my next question was going to be because weirdly I don't know why I have like a fixation on this like both of my parents are like loving it in my life but like there's something so like cool or interesting about like a parent either a mom or a dad not in your life and then someone making it and then the parent being distant and being like holy shit that's my kid yeah that it's like for some reason that's like a weird like fixation though like to them right especially that was my question yeah yeah that person that made it probably so fucked up in the not having their parent yeah my dad died so like when I was like 14 15 so I understand like not having your parent but I also understand having my dad in my life so long that even 10 years later removed from him being on my life I still hold his value so for sure you know what I'm saying yeah so as a man so I know the importance of having a father figure in your life right all right now I want to hear your favorite Detroit rappers that's that's like of now we'll go now we'll go all time three now three all time that's rapping right now yeah yeah three now top three without yourself you can't put yourself I'm not gonna put myself in there you you'd put yourself first I know how many options you have and I know you put you talk about that's rapping now like like underground or the biggest anything anything underground or probably yeah if they underground shit it's the perfect platform underground I'm gonna say like it's not really underground it's just Detroit the top three rappers I think in Detroit would be other than my self is probably V's babyface ray and it's in like they both number three T grizzly and do it yeah I forgot for two from there yeah so yeah V's V's will be V's will be up there for me too I like V's and T grizzly is the best every time I see him bro all the time though yeah Eminem skill a baby Eminem I'm not putting my you said skill baby first and then said Eminem I have the edit brother so you said I'm gonna edit it and say skill a baby one Eminem - you said that I let the we clip that technically it was your dad so yeah yeah so then I'm one my pops pops number one big shine has to go in there yeah and this just strictly off I'm not saying who's my favorite who's not off I'm talking about off numbers and shit like this Eminem big shine and then you gotta go T grizzly or days low yeah you wanna what's crazy is I stayed in um I rented a house but if Detroit is listening blade icewood is the best rapper from Detroit and stuff but just off number wise yeah that's fine I like that I stayed in a house like I made a uh a tick tock I was staying at this house in Calabasas for a couple years and and it was the house that days low she to live in so she saw that that I made the tick tock she's like is that my old house she lived in the house for like seven years and we we connected she's gonna come on the podcast but that was like how I met her she's like super dope have you met her yeah yeah yeah you met everyone from everyone for sure yeah yeah I was just in Detroit not that long ago he's hard yeah his brother this is brother clothing well pate little hats and shit yeah this pate right here shut up for the trial war that cuz you was here man I know I was gonna say something like then that's that's a Detroit guy's hat I know I did that for you real nigga he gonna we gonna peep it no that's right the paper yeah I know you know you know my homie little little you look like little little that guy I don't know how but little knows everybody little that guy you know I was just out there he booked me the host some out there like two three weeks ago I was just in Detroit little knows everybody yeah little that guy shout out to little man shout out to Detroit oh yeah so you got the album coming out it's been announced everything's been announced right no not yet not yes we can't talk about it I mean we could talk about it I get that I'm working on the album I alright you're working out but you don't have a date yet so you're working on the album you have any I mean you can't even talk about the features yet or anything huh no because I don't have all of them yet I know you have that song with MGK which I don't know if it's gonna be on it but I just heard the song and I was like that's crazy yeah you guys shot a little bit of a video too right MGK song oh it's his song uh-huh yeah you gotta release that it's MGK I'll tell him to release it tell him it's fire because I was pulling up on you guys at the uh at the Wiz Khalifa movie you did and uh I was with like a couple people like his videographer stuff like that he's like I shot the video and he was he's playing the song I'm like how is this not released this is unbelievable he's doing a rap album right now so I'm like please oh is he yeah it's crazy too I'm like please put this on there so hopefully that'll be on there but who like if you could choose three features for this album who would it be um if I could choose anybody anybody from past and future anything if I could choose anybody to do an album with I would work with Eminem Chris Brown and Anita Baker oh my mama do you know who Anita Baker is I don't but okay I just wanted she's from Detroit too yeah I didn't know that all right what what what are like some of her hits school I mean like you ever heard this song you bring me joy oh yeah yeah yeah that's all right oh she's just old school yeah like a it's like the cleanup music that we will listen to in black house on Sunday morning as you wake up yeah yeah I didn't I didn't get to do that I work with Usher Usher fire Usher be crazy you can ask yeah there's so many people I would work I would work with I mean bro like you can make this happen bro you can make DeVito yeah I would work with DeVito he's fire now that's who people be trying to clown me and tell me I look like people be putting it on Twitter talking about Chris Lawson and DeVito is the same person that we've never seen them in the same room like not that people tweet me that shit all the time you look like like DeVito I seen him at Paris fashion week every he watches power every time I see him he'd be like he'll come up and be like oh what's up but I'm also tied with Burna boy and they don't they got beef right now do they I think so I think they got like a fight in the club so I just I just like to be at a bad with you know what I mean I like to be cordial with everyone even though you did eat Rick Ross's chips which is crazy but I'm just saying you did eat the chips um you're crazy um all right so acting wise you did the movie with Wiz bro you were fire me and Chris went to the movie you were fire in that like I leaned over in the middle of the movie and I was like Skilla baby's 100% the best rapper actor in this thing like yeah like real shit oh that's all right but no this nigga he takes it serious I know but I mean he's got rocking in his corner and I've been on calls with you guys though like you know I've been trying to do this like yeah I've been trying to do it like I remember Rocky told me like yeah bro don't don't even um plan on being on his screen anytime soon I'm looking like oh my god I'm coming to these fucking acting shit what what were the classes that you were doing if you're still doing it you don't have to say the name or we'll bleep it but I'm curious like what class were you taking I was doing private classes with um an acting coach her name um what's her name Rocky Selena Selena yeah Selena I'm sorry Selena I was just on the spot and I know your name I love you Selena and what was she like really trying to lock in with you because I could talk about acting forever but I'm just um she just was trying to teach me the basics first so um just where your marks are um how to self-tape um facial expressions um hand movements um um you know we can go on and on then we start doing little improv scenes then we start reading scripts and stuff like that she made me do some fucking jumping jacks and running down the hall and try to yell and do all this extra yeah lucid me she ever make you do that red leather yellow leather shit no you know what i'm talking about no no you know what i'm talking about so like actors and shit you'll go to these acting classes and they'll make you sit there and just be like red leather yellow leather red leather yellow leather red so you can like enunciate and not like be mumbling and shit so you'll have to say that over and over red leather yellow leather i heard somebody had to go to a park you know for us like a dog yeah it'll be wild shit in these acting classes yeah there's i mean dude acting classes like i could go into like how crazy my acting class is but like realistically it's pretty much like building like a fuck it muscle like going into an audition and being like i don't give a fuck about what any of these people do i'm gonna do my shit what i like and not being nervous and all that stuff like that's kind of the basics but it's funny you say like the hands the face the this and then that like you're like i have to hit my mark i have to be in my light like there's so many things that you have to do and then you have to forget it all yeah you have 78 things that you have to do and then you have to forget it all because you have to truly be in the scene with this person like if you're truly acting and you're in a scene with the person right you wouldn't be thinking like if i'm talking to chris and we're in an argument and and we're behind the building we're talking about like let's get this work like i wouldn't be like on my eyebrows my eyebrows making too much movement you just have to naturally do it you have to naturally do it because you got to be locked in on the scene so like that's why i say acting is the um is the hardest easiest job ever and if you got all that down it's the easiest job ever you can lock in and do it you memorize your lines you do it but there's so much to like like you have to have you know why acting is so hard and i respect you guys because there's so many ways for you to be right right you're never truly wrong like if i'm acting as a chef right i can use a spoon a fork a knife i do anything to get this one job done right like you know i'm saying acts as a chef but he can't but like that's why i respect you guys because like you guys are the biggest problem solvers because you don't they never tell you unless you're on set what they really want you know i'm saying like if you're going out for a role you don't know what they really want yeah you and they sometimes they don't even know what they want you get what i'm saying right so it's like i can say this excitedly i could say this quiet calm i could be serious i could be playful i could be charismatic i could be sarcastic it's so many ways you can go about getting to end goal that you guys don't really know how to figure out the puzzle it's just like you guys are just brainstorming like let me come up with these so you might do 85 takes and your first take might be right your your 56 take might be right and then you're gonna do 85 takes and then you're gonna do 85 takes and you might be right so i respect y'all for that like you guys just it's so much going goes into it you know what i'm saying what's the hardest thing that you um that you had to do while acting was there like a scene specifically or something like like my first scene on dr was an intimacy oh my god wait tell us about that i had to put on some tight ass drawers oh they made you do the little uh the little yeah you had to do the cock sock pause you had to do that you don't know the little the crown royal they had listen they had like four different drawers one was like a thong i had to make them get that out of my room you know what i'm saying then everything else was just like some tight-ass compression drawers and it was like from the studio that brought you wandavision i was an avenger but i'm not a hero anymore it's like i'm losing my the vision returns for the final chapter of the groundbreaking trilogy that family wasn't real you sure about that i had a father called vision how is this possible don't miss the two episode premiere of marvel television's vision quest nothing bonds a family together quite like mortal jeopardy now streaming only on disney plus i just had to like i had to really like you gotta think this is my first time on screen so me i'm like damn i'm thinking like this about to be hard they cultured me through it and and rocket like they trying to tell me to go to the intimacy coordinator and and they got me like thinking like like this like like i'm just in my head and like but then i started thinking like i love you this won't be that hard this is a breeze who'd you do the scene with um i forgot what's going on yeah i was just curious if like if she was like a season no no she wasn't like that but yeah like yeah it's weird for me they they looked at for my intimacies they just like looked at and they're like you're fine they're just like yeah it's it wouldn't affect anything and i was like really yeah that was a joke it was a joke it's small whatever guys you guys that joke just went over everyone's head they're like him we gotta lock that thing down for me they're like you're fine because you got options brother you got them you know what i mean for me they're like it's you're good you're fine that's not gonna like she won't feel anything you don't need the pad you don't need any pad they don't need the pad they didn't need it for her they don't need the pad they didn't even ever hurt there's an extra layer of padding yeah that stops erection yeah for skill they're like we need some masking tape can you bring it in for me they're like you're good brother yo wow yo he's crazy still i deal with this all the time i'm so glad i came to this park you gotta go with him man i got to know so so what are some of your like goals moving forward like acting wise music wise like what's like the ne what's the next year for skilla baby that you're like it couldn't have been like what's the next year for skillababy that you're like it couldn't have gone better i'm going grammy like if i if i go grammy and then i go to any actor awards and i get best new actor then i'm gonna feel accomplished like that's my that's my year like if i get best new actor when i'm acting like and they acknowledge me as an act just acknowledging me as an actor instead of like skill of baby's actor trayvon gardner the actor you know what i'm saying trayvon skillababy gardner and they acknowledge me as a even a decent or a good actor satisfied with not acting but what i did this year but music-wise i gotta go grammy or i feel yeah just the nomination or you you want to win i want i'm not i'm not a loser i don't that nomination they can nominate a dog all right all that stuff i feel you you should win that shit only certain people going home with them i want that little trumpet or whatever that shit is right you gotta drink and you're gonna drink something out of it yeah i need that i need to be when i go home to detroit yeah i need to be talking like yeah y'all niggas ain't got grammy so i need to be talking like that like y'all niggas got plaques y'all ain't got grammy you already was buying up half the city once you i know you was doing a lot of really i got a real estate you was buying a lot of cribs and a lot of real estate out there that's fire bro yeah i'd be doing that type of shit good shit y'all if y'all got like any money laying around and that's the best thing that y'all can invest in is detroit my money ain't quite laying around just yet i ain't like you i ain't made it to where you are i mean but like you gotta watch on so if you got a watch on right boom you gotta watch on i mean you got at least fifteen twenty thousand dollars or whatever your watch cost and and like even if like you can always go get a watch i'll turn this watch in right now if they told me like all right boom and that's the type of person i am i'm not gonna lie like i'll change this shit in there's money on the floor because we can always go get these materialistic things boom so i'll go turn this shit in go get a like houses in detroit you could get a house in detroit twenty thousand it's a fixer-upper you put fifteen twenty more thousand even if you guys all came together like say we all came together with ten thousand we get a house for twenty thousand and we fix it up for twenty more thousand just make it livable and they selling for one fifty two hundred yeah does that mean we all bust down two hundred thousand off ten thousand dollar investment it took us ten to fifteen thousand a piece and we made some dog so that's the type of i'll be into like i'm on my team right now let's buy back i'm starting an investment group there oh that's good um if you guys want to be involved in like we doing all type of stuff new builds um um building from the ground up um we're we're doing renovations we're doing everything it's just an investment group i'm gonna do with people i know um that's like see what the investment group is like it's like a long-term you can't i'm not really looking for like short-term investments i'm looking for investments that people just want to invest this year in the next two three years we make a million dollars like you know i'm saying like things like that so like long-term investments like if you trying to get a get rich quick scheme i'm not really want to go to i'm not a scammer i can't do that but like if you're trying to investment long term like like i see other people doing that then we can make money together that's right right you want some water yes please i know i was like i asked him if he wanted a water when he when he came in he was like nah i just want some chips the whole episode he's like i'm like does he want water and i said you got me a doritos yeah no we got the man the doritos you had doritos but we we all had doritos yeah we all had doritos there was a there was a larger black man spicy chili there was a larger black man shout out to doritos man did you see the story about how they came up with doritos how they got them from the trash i feel like you're misdirecting there were scraps in the trash those so there was like you know flour tortilla shells and they took those shells because they was losing so much money they was hemorrhaging bread and they was like you know what i'm going to recycle that stop throwing away all those old tortillas stale tortillas is yeah and the niggas start making doritos well that's interesting but you're not gonna be you're not gonna be in legacy anymore now that he knows that you had chris lofton fuck chris lofton he got diamond kill hey man that's crazy talk about that hey he been saying this he was at his own premiere telling me fuck you that was hilarious because the finale of force had just aired yeah it did so here's my thing this is what i always say at the end of the day i saw bullets i got out the way he saw bullets he jumped toward him how is that my fault because the bullets who are the bullets for it all of that is erroneous completely erroneous if this was a court of law out of objection it doesn't matter it doesn't matter who they were intended for bro it's hard being an actor out here bro trying to find work it's very hard i'm a nigga still alive and i can't find it i'm still alive in the universe i'm looking for we are looking for work that's hilarious i know i'm sorry skill you're right man i wanted to ask you one other question too outside of the cbi for life by the way but i'm sorry i'm sorry that i had to be the one to survive i'm sorry but that one day was we in vegas i think it was vegas i was the only time i think i can remember being jealous of anybody and it was skill because of his options or what no it was the day i just lost like three parlays oh i just lost and this man showed me a ticket i think he had bet something crazy like seven bands or something that man knocked them people over their heads man shut out the prospects it wasn't no prospects but i just felt like this is a great moment to talk about projects always sports betting and all of that do you love sports betting or was that just like i had a better to be lucky than good i had a hunch i don't gamble you just had a hunch what you you want like 117 or something 230. 230 000 off 7 000 in cat and then like got went and got it in cash bro just went and grabbed it i was just like i hate this nigga i was like i hate him i was like oh my god it was like 235 or something i was actually so excited that i was out there because 50 50 had um 50 cent like you know 50 had invited me out we're familiar so you know you know the guy yeah i've met him i was so excited when i won that one is that the first time you die sports bet yes oh oh you said yeah i came out sports betting that wasn't the first time i've seen 50 but it was the first time sports betting and he had me out there so i gave him 10 000 i was like fuck it and he took it he was like yeah 50 got off he got at least a quarter of a bill he took the 10k that's my guy yeah i broke bread with rocket i broke bread with a lot of people it was free to me like i mean we were there we didn't get any we didn't break any bread but whoever was with me that day i was just like fuck it damn rock and roll get me after that thing rocket had the ticket on him and then left he was like let's get the hell out of here away from these broke ass i know what you told him i know he said he said he said skill let's go what was it like a five leg parlay eight eight it was like eight or nine and he bet like seven bands i just had a hunch he told me not to bet that much too you shouldn't have broke his ass off anything i was about to bet somewhere i was gonna bet ten thousand did you it would have been half an m did you invest all that in the uh in the detroit i did all types of shit with that money i ain't gonna lie i was free so i was just doing yeah dude free money feels good free money feel 10 times better in vegas too like bro like that's like on my bucket list of to do because i am i do gamble you might not i did generally as well i'm a degenerate bro i'll be up at three in the morning gambling on korean baseball like it's there like i'm korean baby what 3 a.m who's a korean baseball player i don't know it doesn't matter that's why you're losing no i don't lose i'll be hitting those he doesn't make money life is a numbers game so especially like so how you just won that 230 right yeah and it's free money i would go do some that i wouldn't do i would go bet like five six thousand i would never do that with my own money right but if i just hit it if you want it is your money if i want it i but i feel better about it because it wasn't mine initially it's mine now it is yours now it is it it's yours yeah if you go act and it's yours it's yeah if you go act and then you go bet you're doing the same thing i don't know i think it's betting on yourself that's true but i feel like if i was to win you guys i know you guys pay varies like to person a person but you guys get a lot of money number one number two on the card sheet even number three on the card sheet i was number seven though you guys are right so let's let's let that be known you're getting dog you got the gamblers i couldn't even find those well i have a top tens well these relationships go a lot further than money does i'm i'm a firm believer in that i know because you everything i have on right now is up with your girlfriend on the show too so did you see hey so basically what i got from this episode is skillet baby hates jannard that's what we got i hate him you hate you know i hate him for real because like you keep doing junkie do you really think that yes bro what's your thing okay can we talk about this can we have two minutes to talk about why the you beat up rob the dike okay now that's fair but here listen in my defense orange and nard's defense i was high that's not i was high that's not and i'm down bad that's not an excuse i'm down bad though that's not an excuse so being down bad and you owe to connect i owe three connects money they're all looking for me they all want to kill me and i know you have spent two seasons plotting with this lady on how to kill your brother and then you just start being cool with this okay now now here we go i'm gonna sum this up quick i ain't gonna make it long but the whole killing my brother thing right at the end of the day think about it like this g if if uh if diamond been in prison for 15 years i've said this before diamond been in prison for 15 years that means let's just say janara has to be about 33 34 years old right that means you got locked up when i was very young which also means that i know more life without you than with you and with you and especially the life that matters the that sticks and now let's bring money into play cbi the fictional world and the fictional game that's supposed to be a multi-million dollar drug organization we're not talking about no couple dollars we're talking about a that i ain't seen for 15 years you're wrong and now you get out of jail i ain't seen my daddy since i was 15. if that popped up right here i wouldn't be like man i don't know you i'm gonna be like no i wasn't like i didn't know you i bought the i bought the a car how you think he got that truck i bought him an apartment i bought your broke ass a barber shop because i heard you like to cut hair and that's what you've been doing in prison set you up with a barber shop because you hot you on parole you really ain't supposed to be out here in the streets doing anything tried to kill him no but this is why though and y'all yeah you snoring y'all dope i didn't try to kill him at first and i wasn't snoring at first i didn't try to kill him at first i wanted to be his partner but then you start pretending to be partners with this new dude that don't nobody know who's white who may or may not be well i just don't relax he's tripping ain't he you're tripping but see look that's emotion because you're emotionally connected to tommy from the previous seasons of power is not supposed to know who tommy is this is just supposed to be a random white man from new york who's doing too much i'm saying that's who he's supposed to be i'm saying though i'm saying he's doing too much by doing what killing by coming into my city trying to take over you know how this goes you know he was smoking because i could tell when you was on the episode you ain't really want to say nothing wrong to it you're like dog kill me so i'm like listen he more of a killer than you so of course he gonna have more rank than you people respect money and violence he got the dope and he killing people you through you through why you feel like you was better than time me i don't know i just wanted to be partners with my brother that's fair but you was ready to kill him you was ready to kill him because at the end of the day you didn't want to be my partner but you bring in the new guy that don't nobody knows who may or may not be the police story messing up millions how about i take both of y'all out more of the story more of the story you want on that for real all right give us a segway to y'all because i can talk about this friend look right here look at that would you want to be on power if you could have a dream role would it be on power or be on something else for sure yeah i really my dream role is first prince of bel-air some like that we just had on jabari banks did you see the remake yeah i've seen the remake but it ain't like the original yeah so you wanted you to comedy like that i would like i would if i was on some acting hell yeah like i'm really like funny and witty but you are you and that's what people don't know about is you are sitcom acting is very like it's very like high-end energy like yeah it's it's it's harder to do um i think you could do it for sure um but that's interesting like bel-air for you i think i think what i like to think that works is people when people do stuff that they don't think you're gonna do yeah when you do things like that it's like oh yeah skill look cool but he just did some funny you know what i'm saying right if i i had a ideal role on power though yeah i just i my role would be like i'll work for one of you guys like i wouldn't want like to be like a kingpin on there i would want to be like an enforcer or somebody like that i wouldn't want to be like a kingpin because eventually you guys are going to die you know what i'm saying he wants to be the one that kills me that's what he wants he want to kill janari yeah i want I want to when I do finally come out with my album and get the role and I want to involve you guys not like I want to collide the acting with We should make some shit for Let's make some of the videos. Yeah that's what I want to do. Let's do that. To showcase all our talents and stuff like I was thinking about doing some things where like I got these songs where it's like it appeals to like a different audience and I was wondering if you could play me and I could play a different role in it or you're in it things like that. Also I was talking to Rocket earlier. I want to do some things to where like because acting is fun to me now. I want to do some things where like we like I can just do things direct to consumer to where like we do short clips and we improv on it. Some fun stuff like that. Get a real camera and do stuff that we can do on our own like you know what I'm saying? A little funny stuff like fun stuff like you know how Drew do the skits and stuff like that but like real professionally and really do like one minute clips showing different sides of roles that you guys don't be doing like funny side romance shit all that type of shit to where like we can put a director consumer and then if a director wants you for a role or something like that you would be like damn he been working hard like you know what I'm saying? Now when we talk about before the podcast ends we talk about me playing you. Let's get into the specifics here. How is that? going to happen? Now I feel like you've been trying to cancel me this whole podcast. I have a song right? Right. Where at the beginning of it like alright so I'll just explain the song I'm not going to say what the but like the the course is like don't come around me with that fake shit. My life amazing cause all the real niggas show me love. So he wants you want me to say that? Or Malhood. I want you to be are we gonna do it creative? But like like you ever seen the video or the movie Freaky Friday? Yeah, like oh okay. Yeah. Yeah. All right. That's fire. I like that. I like how he wants me to say the end word and do blackface and my no, I appreciate it. It's been no, I'm glad that everyone in the black community has loved me this long. It's ending now. I want to do right. Yeah, I want to I want to creatively showcase like how how white people support black people. Yeah, like in that type of way, like I don't know what white people be saying when they're not around black people, but it'd be funny if every time like I opened the door and you were saying, of course, but you wasn't saying like the N word. But when you close the door, we hear the N word. But when you open the door, it's a room full of white people. It just would be funny. Like I'm never working again in Hollywood. I'm not. I'm just saying like it'd be funny like you don't have to say the N word. Yeah, I got you. I'm just playing around. It's just like, yeah, it's just it's entertainment. And I think they take a fun out of entertainment and acting and music and they trying to make everything serious. And PC and you can't, yeah, like you can't rough around the edges like there's no fun anymore. I agree. I like that. Yeah, I like that. I fuck with that. That type of thing. So I just want to bring that type of fun back to it. We're going to do that. 100%. We're in. Dude, bro, anything you need us for, we're in. And I want Chris to cook because he got to stop saying your boyfriend can't cook. And we ain't never taste his food. You ain't never. That's your problem. You ain't never coming under my shit. Have you tasted his food? All I say is I went on his his little show that he has and we cooked against each other and I won. Everyone said that I was better. It's just because he's rich and he bribed all of my co-hosts to say that his was better. I did do that. I didn't do that. It was hilarious. But he is a good cook. He cooked for me and Michael like a couple weeks ago and what did you make? I made catfish and spaghetti on some nigga shit. When Mike and Gianni came to the crib. That's my favorite meal. Mine too, bro. I made some bomb ass catfish and spaghetti, bro. I was chilling. Like on some chill shit. Although that's my shit this time. It's like, guys, come on guys. I'm not going to say it, but like just put your phone. I do not deserve it. I'm not saying that it's because of any certain reason. It's not because we're black. I didn't say that, but you said that. I'm not saying it's because of that, but the white man here. Had his phone on Do Not Disturb. That's all I'm saying, guys. I feel like he's trying to get us canceled. Right. To me, Vibrate is Do Not Disturb. For real. In my world, Vibrate is. I'm not actually putting it on Do Not Disturb ever. That's fair. Alright, I love you guys. Thank you for coming on. Chris, give us one. Man, the crew has it. The crew has it and you have it. We love you. Thank you, Skill, for coming on. We appreciate it, brother. Album coming soon, baby. Buy breakfast. Day one.
