In this episode, David, Natalie, and Jay start by discussing Natalie’s bad week, which culminated in her accidentally scratching David’s Ferrari with a closing gate. They joke about blaming her sister and the idea of bad energy transferring. The conversation then shifts to David’s stress over vlog production, especially his birthday vlog, which may be moved to a second channel due to poor filming conditions from a power outage. They debate the feasibility of weekly uploads and taking a break, but David insists on working hard despite feeling less nimble than in his 20s.
The trio then engages in lighthearted debates, including who they’d rather be—Adam Sandler, George Clooney, or others—reflecting on lifestyle choices and pressures. They also touch on Tom Holland’s spoiler tendencies, Y2K fears, and the lasting impact of movies like "The Truman Show" on Natalie’s worldview. Natalie opens up about her fear of death after a DMT experience, which has made her anxious about being alone forever, a stark contrast to her earlier optimism. The conversation moves to dating, where they discuss the "chase" and the appeal of straightforwardness, with Natalie admitting she struggles to find someone who matches her energy. They end by planning future trips, including Kenya and London, with a possible road trip together, before wrapping up the episode.
What's up guys welcome back to views we are back with another episode Nally's having a bad week she texted me yesterday morning she said something is happening to me I need to go to bed and try again that's how you want to start today's what I got with my negative energy well no I want to pack it well you're the source of it so I guess we can start there okay well that's how really so how do you have had to you crashed my Ferrari yesterday I didn't crash it what happened my gate closed on his Ferrari SUV yeah that gate scratched the fuck out of it no yeah yeah and it hit like a piece of the car this may be in the vlog so don't spoil it but it hit a piece of the car that's like unfortunately the biggest piece of the car so like it's going to be like a big replacement but damn how did it happen you're like it's just started to close and you were not on the driveway yet I was I was yeah I opened the gate my sister opened the gate and I was waiting for her to give me something in the car okay and it must have just been like the perfect amount of time and as I started reversing out of the driveway you can see on my security camera like the gate was also closing at the same time so it wasn't in like the rear view camera yet you know yeah what was your reaction like I mean did you freeze did you do this sound oh I was like I had gasped in the car and then I get out of the car my sister's coming back outside and I was like no she was like what and I was like I fucking hit the Ferrari it's unfortunate you took like the most expensive car that was here the most expensive car because John I was I wanted to take that she played that John right when she got back because I did because I remember in the moment I was like I want to take the ass and I don't want to fucking hold on this started because her keys got locked into her car in her Ferrari hey wait is there any way he's got locked her Ferrari so she had a bar or a friend it's not bad it's not bad it's like it's just like there's weird things in the air air that I'm driving up and really but I had but I'm telling you mercury was in retrograde for me and I had a pretty like rough three weeks yeah and I think I passed it on to her because the last two days I've been feeling so good so I think it must have like rubbed off and like falling on that that's probably why you're annoying me like time's time yeah you're like really annoyed me recently is there a way you can blame this on your sister oh I did yeah it's kind of hard to blame things on the sister why um because it's like blaming something on like a roomba do you know I mean it's like that's like I asked her robots not capable because I asked her to grab something from the from like inside or whatever the like get clicker or you are blaming it on your sister and she took so fucking it was right inside the door and she took so long she went inside the garage walked around inside the entire house and then came out the front door and I was like why you just grab it from the door then walk it right back out oh yeah okay that's like a millennial thing or like a Gen Z thing where people are like a lot slower and then she's like I'm sorry I'm just having so much brain fog this morning well here's what I'm sensing okay here's what I'm sensing yeah and then I think I'm right oh also by the way guys I haven't seen spider-man yet so just to put that out there it's like a big thing I mean the lot of people know immediately are there supposed to go at 9 a.m well yet that's why today was supposed to be the there was one person at DM me and they were like hey make sure you don't do the pod today without seeing spider-man and Jackie I'm sorry I have not seen spider-man yet I bought the tickets accidentally for the wrong day it's tomorrow oh so you'll get in the next pot all right continue Jay I think you guys should take like a proper week off what I told him that he like refuses and not like and not like go somewhere and film I mean like a proper week no Natalie here no David just playing pickleball you want to go where do I go where do I go to take a week off you oh my god you you go anyway you could just stay here oh okay yeah I just want to make sure that was still okay go go over to go over to Ilya and like just just be like a great friend just like hey but you want to work out today or what do you want to do okay yeah I mean I'm not going to do the working out part but like yeah I'm definitely down and talk to Ilya yeah I think a nice we just can't we're like in the middle of what no we absolutely can hey this is your idea to get the vlog going and here we are no that's fine we only for started doing this like series of vlogs it was supposed to be for four months we're gonna go every week or three months we're gonna do it go every yeah we're supposed to do weekly yeah I know you're supposed to weekly that didn't I wasn't realistic for our editing to like our team we just can't go weekly it's not possible but we have put we have put in the same amount of time and effort in the videos that we have been able to put out and produce and same amount of time effort as weekly videos you know like we are still working every single fucking damn them and I was told that if I locked in for three months on these vlogs I could go on a vacation in August okay I never told that I never use those words you made the original schedule and you're like we're taking a break and I made the arrangement all agreed on it yeah I know I know you made the arrangement but like it just didn't work out that way we weren't we weren't good enough to make vlogs every week now listen we're still working hard yeah but our working hard isn't what it used to be in our 20s we're not it will never be that we're not as nimble we're like all the athletes do you know what I mean that's a crutch shut the hell up David Dobar what do you mean that's a crutch what do you mean a crutch you're talking you're you're definitely a crutch you're just as nimble you just don't want to that's it I mean like but you could I hate this argument this is like one of my mom's like this is the same thing when I'm like my mom I'm talking my mom I have a sore throat and she's like it's allergies whatever it is if it's if it's me saying it it's true do you know what I mean whatever you just said it's a crutch it's exactly a crutch and it is exactly my mentality towards it but that is what has changed and that is not changing does that make sense well you just said is what you just said is the truth yeah like that hasn't changed anything it's like a therapist telling me what's wrong and I'm like yeah no shit it's exactly the issue right but I mean you are as nimble no I'm not because I don't believe I am whether you think you are whether you think you can or cannot you are right I mean I think I cannot I think you're just yeah I think you just don't want to yeah I'm just I'm completely different yeah yeah so you you could you could you could do it no no I have fun doing the videos once every two weeks I just like we can't do it every week it's because I'm still fucking sitting here editing yeah so crazy Natalie left yesterday when we were editing now he turned her location off and disappeared for an hour where'd you go now you go down to the the mail strip club yeah let's go rub it out chippendails laughing dude dude boys I went to run an errand I just didn't want to hear it anyway we're working on we're working on the birthday vlog yeah we're probably pushing it to the second channel I feel from what it looks like and I always say this every video but this one this one may may have to be moved unfortunately the power going out during my birthday has like really crushed the vlog and yeah there's really nothing in the vlog even like even the ending of the vlog was supposed to be super exciting was like not properly lit it's just everything just kind of fell apart and we didn't do a good job of documenting how it fell apart so yeah I mean I don't know that you think second channel there's a good chance it's 50 50 yeah I mean it feels kind of sad for it to go on the second channel but like it's good for the second channel mid for the main channel and I'd rather just like have it beyond the second channel be like oh this is a fun one here yeah but to most people they don't care they're like oh cool I'm watching on that channel no I know it's just like one people are binging my videos I just I want the main channel videos to be ball be videos I'm proud of yeah but yeah but don't you feel like sometimes you look back at like older videos that you made of you might have thought were good at that point but they're not that good anymore vice versa I thought maybe videos were bad but now look back at them and they're good really yeah yeah what do you mean I don't think I've ever looked at a video like oh what the fuck but there's like old no I don't think what the fuck I'm just saying like it obviously over time things change so I just feel like that yeah but like an old cringy YouTube video I don't look at I look at at that I when I watch it I look at it at the time and I'm like oh at the time this is great I don't look at it like oh this is so cringy now I'm just like yeah this is 19 year old David of course it's gonna look like this and you feel like putting out this birthday video people will look at it and be like oh he no I know I think Jason's right I don't think I don't think people I think 80% of people would just be like stoked to but I just I don't know I also live the birthday and the power going out on my 30th was really sad so I think that's having a heart that's that's that's kind of fucking with me as I edit this video okay okay we'll see so Tom Holland spoiled Spider-Man again for me which is really sad yeah how did he say he we were texting about I'm kidding I was like what no he was just like an interview and he slipped on something but he was he got interviewed he's like notorious for spoiling things and I always thought it was like a joke yeah but I guess he actually does spoil things because I just don't spoil something and I don't know he spoiled it because I haven't seen the movie but we'll see but he someone asked him what was the worst thing that you spoiled for Marvel and he was Kevin Feige who's like the main guy at Marvel put all the Avengers on a bus yeah and they were like driving around Hollywood during Infinity War so you know at the end of Infinity War like half of the Avengers die yeah right and they're driving around Hollywood and they're going into movies that are showing for the first time like it's opening day and they're driving around.
and they're surprising people at the theater. And Tom and the Avengers walk into the theater. And one of the first things Tom says is guys, look, everything's okay, I'm not dead. And he didn't know that no one's watched the movie yet. He thought it was the end of the movie, which is crazy. She's a crazy spoiler. Yeah, that's crazy. Yeah, so I didn't know he actually spoils things, which is really funny. It's a very spider-man-like quality. Do you think you'd be able to fuel in that position? To not spoil things. And that's spoil things. I don't know. I can't imagine doing all the interviews that he does. I could see being like that type of person, just being, he seems like the type of person that's very excited about his job and stuff, so I could see him just in excitement, just being like, well, I just think it's cool that like, I don't know, I just think it's cool. Well, what did he spoil this time? Well, I don't want to say. Oh, okay. Because then I'll be double-spoiling it. That's it, that's it. But yeah, and then did you see Matt Damon finally made it on Kimmel? And no. So there's like an ongoing joke that like, Jimmy Kimmel never has time for Matt Damon. I don't know how it started, but like at the end of every show, at the end of every show, right? Kimmel signs off by saying, sorry to Matt Damon. Yeah. We didn't have time for you. No, really. And this time it was like a week or two ago. I just saw it. Matt Damon snuck in inside a Trojan horse. Oh, yeah. She's really good. Like, it was like a gift for Kimmel and then, Matt Damon was finally on the show. Pretty exciting. And did they like jaw at each other? Or did they just kind of-- Who's like a standing ovation from the crowd? And then that was kind of it. And Matt Damon was like, I made it in. But it was like the end to an ongoing bit. It was a really good idea. Yeah, really good. That was the time to end the bit. They had a good idea the other day. They did, they were giving people $12 water from Erwan, but it just came out of the hose from their back lot. Oh, and they're intriguing people. They really give it. I love those ideas. Where Kimmel makes people look dumb on the street. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. Here's a question for you, Jay and Natalie. Would you rather be Michael B. Jordan or Adam Sandler? Oh, Adam Sandler, for sure. Really? Yeah. OK, let me give you another one. I think Michael B. Jordan is on his come-up. I think he's going to be a legend. Would you rather be George Clooney or Adam Sandler? Adam Sandler. Really? Yeah, because he just feels like he just genuinely just enjoys life. I think Jason would be the opposite, right? No. Really? Adam Sandler. Adam Sandler is a tough one. I don't know many other people I'd rather be than Adam Sandler. Really? He's also actually so cool and funny, too. Yeah, but isn't that what's cool about being George Clooney? It's like being funny when you're an athlete. You just have to be a little bit funny, and then all of a sudden, everybody loves you. I think that's George Clooney is tuned. If you met George Clooney, and he said a half-ass joke, you'd be like, this is one of the greatest guys on planet Earth. Because not only is he so cool, but he's like kind of funny. Yeah. Right? But I think Adam Sandler is more to lose in person. That's true. More pressure. That's true. More pressure, yeah. More pressure. I don't know. Maybe George Clooney has more to lose. Because Adam Sandler really purports himself as like a regular guy. George Clooney, whether he likes it or not, has made this movie star. Yeah, but George Clooney can almost even just be like standoffish, and you're like, that's George Clooney. Do you know what he's gone through? He's like the biggest star of all time. I'm not disagreeing with you that I would probably also choose Adam Sandler. The Adam Sandler gets to like come up with a movie concept that's like really silly and it'll get made. Yeah, that's the best. Whereas George Clooney's got to like, it's got to be something that's like in the zeitgeist or have some incredible story. Yes, but is that not so exciting? Because I was watching, there's new Michael B. Jordan movie, which I'm surprised I've never seen the original. What is it? The Thomas Cron affair? Oh, there he's redoing that. Yeah. Oh, nice. I've never heard of this movie. Okay. Now, have you heard of this movie? Here's Brasen and did it. Here's Brasen and it's a fucking like, it's like so up my alley of things I'd want to watch. It's crazy that no one's recommended to me. It's about a, it's a 1999 American Romantic Heist Film where it follows Thomas Cron, a board billionaire who steals a painting from the Met and is pursued by an insurance investigator with a two falling in love. How fucking cool is that? I love a Heist movie. A Heist movie where the guy's a billionaire ready and he's bored. Yeah. I mean, this is incredible. That's you. That's it. It's a board billionaire. I mean, that's so fucking cool. So yeah, Michael B, it's our guy. No, I'll go what? No, it's a different topic. Oh, Michael B. Jordan is redoing that, which is really exciting. So that got me to think about it. But then someone, so there's a new Kevin Hart movie, 70, 72 hours. And one of the comments was like, Kevin Hart is doing the Adam Sandler method where he goes to the studio and he has them send him to a place where he'd want a vacation to do work. And then they have me think like that's like, 'cause Adam Sandler is famous for shooting in Hawaii and always having a hot wife in a movie. That's like, he just makes his job incredible. I think Adam Sandler is the closest to what an influencer is in regards to using a brand deal to fuel something fun, which is really fun. But I think, Gundam I had, I'd have to do George Clooney. - Really? - Yeah, pick it just be sick. I think it'd be so cool. - You have to go to all kinds of like events and benefits. He does a lot of work for like underprivileged people and causes and he's very political. You'd be, you'd be at a lot of dinners in a Tuxedo. - You know what's so funny about that? - Well, Adam Sandler's playing basketball. (laughing) - It's funny because your trajectory and your career is more in line with Adam Sandler, but you're choosing the George Clooney, which-- - Oh, no, I'm not. - That is interesting. - What? - Oh, like I'm choosing the option of George Clooney? - Yeah, like it's like weird. Like subconscious thing where you like you want to be. - Well, no, I think that's why I would wanna try it. It's like something I've never done. Like obviously I'd wanna be like. - It's like you're trying to be something you're not. - Well, yeah, wait, that's a little point, no. - Yeah, or you could put that in place. - You just said I'm closer to Adam Sandler. So like, wouldn't I wanna be like the cool action star? That's like super hot. - Yeah, but it's just interesting that you would choose. - And hot and they're like 60s or whatever. - You would choose, like, there's no, like, you would choose to try something entirely different instead of like, I don't know. - You could be Adam Sandler. - Well, I wouldn't wanna try to be George Clooney. The sound what the thing is. It's, I will become George Clooney's the question. I would never wanna try it. Obviously I would love to try to be Adam Sandler. It's like a more doable route for me. But like, yeah, no, if I could just snap my fingers, I think I would go. - All right, new question. - Would you wanna answer me on that one? - What, would you rather be Adam Sandler? - Yeah. - 'Cause that's the one you chose. Or. - Go ahead, let's move on. - Bon Jovi. - Adam Sandler. - What? - I might wanna be Bon Jovi. Just because I love singing. Like, I've always wanted to be Bob Sandler. - Or like Billy Joel. - Oh, hang on, brother. Like, how could I just say it? I gotta stop the podcast. - I think Billy Joel can take a walk and think. Billy Joel. - Yeah, I think Billy Joel, right? - I don't really know enough about Billy Joel. - It doesn't matter, just think about Piano Man. Like, just think about being able to fucking play that in a bar. I don't know. I think the story of Billy Joel. - Okay, Adam Sandler. Or. - What's cool about being a singer? - Okay. - It's, no, no, I'm gonna hear you out. As you can, you can like, exercise your superpower in like a surefire way. Like Adam Sandler, he could be funny, but it's still subjective, right? But like, Billy Joel's singing at a piano. - Yeah. - It's not that subjective. Like, everyone will love it. - Right, right. Comedy is subjective. - Yeah, Adam Sandler's like, is he feeling it that day? Billy Joel could be depressed and could still play the keys and fucking destroy like a bar. George Clooney can't do that. George Clooney can't, he could just walk in and kind of or a farm. - That's true. - What were you saying? - I was gonna say, Adam Sandler or Taylor Swift? - I mean, Adam Sandler. - Really? - Well, I just like, I'm just a guy. So it's hard for me to like switch, gender. - I think Taylor Swift's life looks exhausting. - Really? - Yeah, like the three hour, we went to her concert. It was like three and a half hours every night for two, three and a half. - Yeah, but she's like having such a good time. - Yeah, but she loves it. - Sure, she loves it. - She loves it. - And she made like a billion dollars. And now she can just like chill and be married. - I mean, you gotta be thinking she will. - I guess, I mean, Taylor Swift is like marrying a football player is like what you would die for. So that is probably closer to you. - Okay, first of all, it's not. But I was just, I was trying to think of like the biggest part of it. - Why have you learned to look through an NFL roster to see what you could do? - That was like five years ago. - That was literally a couple of months ago. - What did she do? - So just like look at, she'll be like, - If I'm at a game, I'll look at it. - The LA Kings will like draft new players and she'll be like, okay, let's see this game. - Who I can fuck. - Not true for the record. - Jay, were you around for Y2K? - What? - I mean, you were around. - I was born in 2005. - No, do you know about Y2K and that? Did we ever talk about this? 'Cause it used, it felt like a way bigger deal for me when I was a kid when I was hearing about Y2. I thought it was a disease. Do you know a Y2K is? - A year 2000, yeah. - But do you know, do you not know the problem of Y2K? It was like almost apocalyptic, right? - Well, they felt in 1999. - Yeah, they thought when it would become January 1st, 2000, all of everything would just like black out, like everyone's records of banks and because once that changed. - So was it as dramatic as I was taught it? and we'll you know it.
it actually was really dramatic. The media made it really dramatic. - So basically, the problem was everyone thought all the computers were programmed to read the year from in two digits. So from zero to 99. 1999 was 99. So they were worried that when I hit 2000, the computers wouldn't have programming, so they carried over to the next century. So everything would just implode on itself. Like you said, banking and just anything that I had to do with computers would just completely crumble and all data would be lost. And they had to change some code. And then there weren't any serious problems, just some minor problems. But like, the way I was taught was that it was like, I, and this is going to sound dumb. But to me, Y2K and 9/11 as a kid, were very similar in terms of chaos. - Really, it's crazy. - We had like a full day to spend learning about Y2K. I couldn't understand it at the time, so that's why. - What were you for? - I was when we were learning about it. - Yeah. - No, I'm sure I was like in middle school. Y2K. - 20, 26, you're 30. - Yeah, yeah. No, no, it was like in 2010 or something. - Oh, oh, oh, oh. - They were preschool, they're like scaring you. - No, no, no, no, no, no. But I'm saying the afterwards, like the way we talked about, what was it like? What was it like? It was like, oh, this thing's coming and it's like, I don't know if, and then nothing happened. - Oh, okay. - It wasn't like something that I was like really worried about. I was just like, oh, they say it's gonna, I guess in the back of my mind, I was like, oh, it'll work out, they'll figure it out. There's too much money on the line, there's too much. - But was it a talking point for everybody at every table everywhere leading up to the day? - No. - Oh. - Not at all. - Okay, so maybe I just have like a really war. - But in your defense, it was like, all the media talked about for like six months. - Okay. - Do you remember like in 2012, when like the mind calendar was coming to an end and everybody thought that the world was gonna end? - One of the best movies ever. - Which movie? - 2012. - I haven't seen that, was that what it's about? - You haven't seen 2012. - I don't even know what it is. - What? That is the best earth ending movie of all time. Who's in it? - Not a big film. - I don't know. (laughing) - He's a guy who's in every fucking movie at the time. I don't know his name. - Okay. - He's like, you're every day guy, he's so good. He's up there with Matt Damon in terms of just like. - Brennan Frazier. - Very close, very similar vibe to that. - Uh, let's see. - John Cusack? - Oh, John Cusack. - I'm an idiot, how do I not know John Cusack? (laughing) - Yeah, okay. - Yeah, John Cusack. - Well, John Cusack kind of disappeared. - But at the time. - At the time, he was in everything. - He got to watch 2012. - Huh, really? - Wait, what do you mean, huh? - Okay. - Well, I'm not like a big Earth ending person. I don't really like that, 'cause they don't, you know. - I don't think so, no. - But it's unintentionally, though. - That's not possible. - I kind of vibe with that now. There's certain things that I just won't even watch, 'cause I'm like, I don't wanna see that. - Yeah. - It's like depressing. - I don't watch paranormal shit, 'cause it's real. I don't watch the Earth ending Apocalypse stuff, 'cause it's definitely gonna happen at some point. - There was a TV movie called The Day After when I was a kid, and it was like, it was like, what would happen if there's like a nuclear holocaust, so it's like, after that, and it fucking freaked me out my entire life. - Really? - Never ever liked watching that again. - That's when I watched The Truman Show. I think The Truman Show was what did this for me for every movie after, and I've had this internal like paranoia about my life, not being real. Ever since I watched The Truman Show. - Really? - Really? - Does that have something to do with like how you're on social media? - Should I pack that? - No, no. - Are you sure you're talking about the right movie? - The Truman Show? - The Truman Show, which I'm carrying? - Yeah, like, the comedy? - She's like, it was Telltubbies after the movie. - Wait, it wasn't, it's not a comedy. It's like, everyone's controlling his life, and he's not aware, right? Like it's like, he's the only one that's not in on it. Like in something, everybody else is kind of in, like this isn't like a daily occurrence for me, but sometimes I'll be like, oh, like, none of you guys are real. You're all like, fucking with me or something, you know? - Oh, it's how you think sometimes. - But I think it's a pretty common way to think. - For sure. Like, that totally makes sense. - But after I watched the Truman Show, I like really took that to heart. - Wait, like we're not real. Like you're the only person that exists in the world or we're not real or we are real, but we're fucking with you. Like the Truman Show is a guy who's in a TV show and everyone's an actor around him, but there's so real people. - Right. - Do you think we're real people or do you think we're like, your mind is, we're just close. - I mean, like in this current moment, I'm convinced that you're real people. - Wow, we did a good job. But when I smoke weed in my house, but myself at night. - I rethink everything. No, I don't know, I just, I can't explain it 'cause I don't have that feeling right now, but there would be moments in my life where I would be like, oh, that person, whether it's you or it's Jason or Taylor, or whoever, they are a part of some sort of organization that's watching me and trying to manipulate or really infiltrate me. - Oh my God, I sound like David right now. - Okay, I've never said that. - But you say stuff like that. - Part of an organization, that's fucking weird. That's almost weirder than just thinking you're the only person in the rest of us are codes. Like what would this organization want to do with you? (laughing) - You've already said that, too. - I'm asking a lot of questions 'cause she's on to us. (laughing) What would we, I mean, this organization, what do you mean I've said this to you? - You've said the same thing to me. - No, I've said, and I've said this on the pod, that like it's not crazy. Like I don't know your perspective. Like I don't know if you're a real human. I don't know if Natalie's real, I don't know if anybody's real. But I don't think that you guys are actors, but like playing like a, or like super secret spies in an organization. I don't think that. - It's awesome. - No, I've known you since we were like kids. - I know, bro, you infiltrated early. - Do you think? - Yeah, and now you got me here. - You think I stuck it out with you next to that townhouse for a job? - For a job. - There's no fucking way, I would never. I would rather infiltrate like Courtney Lawless or like Haley Hemel, or someone who lived in a big house in Greg's Landing. Why the fuck was I stuck? - There's two bedrooms. - In a two bedroom with a family of eight. (laughing) - So by your reasoning yesterday when you crashed that Ferrari, there was a guy in a control room that's like, okay, send the garage door now. - No. - Send it out. - No, no, no, it's obviously not that deep. - Do you think everything happens for a reason? Do you think everything's like written? - I don't think everything's written, but I don't believe in like coincidences. - Staring at the bike stage before you see - I thought that's a dirty window. - You're glitching. Sometimes you hear that song and you're just like, oh yeah. - Yeah, I know, I feel like. - Right, have you ever put that song on? - I've put that song on, of course I put that song on. - Yeah. - It does really kind of put you in a good mood. - Yeah, it's a nice run. - Yo, Rosie O'Donnell was talking about moving to Ireland, I know this is random. - Yeah. - But it's like, she was talking about, she's not a fan of Trump. So she moved to Ireland when he came to office. - Yeah. - How great the Irish people are. And she's like, nobody will bother me in Ireland, but like I'll be walking down the street and someone will go, Rosie, welcome to Ireland, you belong here. And I was just like, wow, that's really cool. So not like a really cool thing to hear if you move to a new country. - Yeah. - Well, like someone a random person welcoming you by your name, saying you belong here, and then going, I was like that, like. - There was a new sound reel. I was like, one of the warmest two sentence stories I've ever heard in my life. - Yeah, that is nice. - Damn, that feels really good. Like that would make me be like, I'm fucking, the rest of my family's gonna be born in Ireland. - I'm sure if you move back to Slovakia, that would be like that for you. - Yeah, but I don't, I don't know. - But no, I don't want to fucking go to Slovakia. (laughing) I'd say, I like it here. In Beverly Hills. - I don't know. - Really Hills. - Okay, so there was a TikTok that I saw. - Of course. - And when you say to me, like, Jay, like if you say, say Jay, you're lazy. You were to say that to me. - Uh-huh. - People see-- - I never say that to you. - Thank you. People see that, like if you say Jay, you're dumb. You're an idiot, you're an idiot, right? When you say that, people, a little bit, that of that transfers on to you, that's how people see you. - Okay. - Or, but if you were to say, Jay, you're so generous. People will see you as generous. Isn't that interesting? - So paying a compliment almost pays yourself a compliment? - Yes. - It goes further away than putting someone down. - Yeah. - That's really interesting. - Yeah. - How do you feel, same situation, but let's say you're with a group of guys. - Yeah. - You're 20 years old. - Oh, sick. - Yeah, yeah. And you're with your guy friends, and there's like a girl you're trying to impress. - Okay. - What is the best way to act around that girl? Your friends being a douchebag. - Yeah. - You're being the nice guy. - Yeah. - What norm? This is, I don't know how to put this into perspective, but I've been in situations, and I know this is like really weird to say, but like a lot of times, the person that's being in the douchebag wins. - Sure. - Right, do you agree with me? - Oh, yeah, nice guys finished last. - Why is that? - Wait, what were you gonna say before? - Well, I thought about this a lot, and I'm kind of like watching my son go through it now. - Okay. - Well, your son's nice. - Yeah. - Oh, so that fucks him.
- No, no, he is so nice to everybody and he has the ability to sort of just rise above the douchebags, which I think is a really good quality. But I just think in general, young men get that advice, you gotta be a dick. - Oh, I don't think that's what I'm getting at. - No, I'm not saying you think that, but that is the general thing that young men are taught. - Really? - For sure. - I have to find it. - I don't think the words are dick. I think it's like, maybe like assertive or like. - Well, I mean, the whole negating culture, do you know, I mean, that's like a whole thing. - What's that? - It's like, you know, the way you just kind of negate a woman till make her more interested. - Like, turn her down? - Yeah. - Oh, yeah. - That's definitely a thing. - I don't think that's it, really? - Yeah. Yeah. I mean, that does work. - I'm trying to think like. - Well, I kind of got off track a little bit. What are you asking? Should I be. If I was 20, would I be nicer? - Well, there's just been situations where I've watched two of my friends pursue a girl. - Oh, this is good. - And one is going at it like. One guy's being a total dick, but like funny dick, not like. - Yeah. - Not like, go fuck yourself, but like just being a little bit like talking to other girls at the bar, like not caring about this girl. And the other girl is like, honeymooting her, like almost to where I'm like, this is too much. - Yes. - Right, but like still like, pursuing her, like and showering her, not with. - Do you want to drink? - Yes. - Can I get you a drink? - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - So that's a great outfit that you have on. Like, where'd you get it off of it? - But like getting drinks and like, like, wait, so tell me about this. You know, and the other guys being more like, could not care less about this girl. And these guys are on the same exact like, playing field. - Parasettons. - Yeah, they're both sevens. But I have seen this happen where 90, and this actually seems like I'm talking, like I'm one of the guys, but I swear I got them on. This, I have seen this where 90% of the time, it's the guy that's not paying attention to the girl that gets the girl. - Yes, that's true. - Right? - Yeah. - And I don't think this work, I think this work also, maybe backwards too. I think it's just like a human, like if that girl was doing the same thing to a guy, is it just like a human thing like you want what you can't have or like, I think that's what it is, right? - Yeah, it's just like a challenge, it's just like, also it's like, if this person's like so up my ass, like, they can't be that great. - Do you like a chase? - No. - Me too. - I don't like it at all. - Like if a girl plays with me, like, like we're out, and it's evident to me that she's like, not even evident, but like I feel like there's a chase. I'm just like, oh, I don't. - Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. - I'm just like, oh, this is just a loss. Like it's not that, like I want to like, I'm not saying that, like, I want to sleep with her. Like I'm just like, I don't have time for these like emotional war games we're about to play. - For games. - Yeah. - Maybe, and I talk about that all the time. - Wait, what do you explain it? Because it feels like I'm saying it like, like I'm just trying to like get in bed with a girl, but that's not what I mean. - No, it's exhausting. Somebody wants to play games? - Yes. - Oh, like somebody, I also mean like when somebody texts, and they make it like harder to make plans, or like, or like, there's like just something, like it's not just like straight forward. Like, I love a person that's straight forward, and like somebody that like, seems like, I don't know. I just feel like I'm too. - Yeah, do you want to go see Spider-Man? I'm not into Spider-Man. - Okay, goodbye. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - Or she could say like, oh yeah, I actually really wanted to see the invite. Okay, let's go see the invite. - Right. - Some of that will work with you. - Yeah. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - But like, yes. Okay, okay, okay. 100%. - Yeah. - I don't know how to put it in it. What are you into being talk about? - We always talk about that. It's just like games are so dumb. Like, when I met her, I had an idea of what she would be like because of like, maybe what she looked like, or she just looked like this pretty girl on Instagram, you know? Like, oh, I'm sure like a million guys want to date her. So I like, I had like a preconceived notion, like I thought, you know, of what she would be like. - Yeah. - And I expected like games and stuff and then-- - But she was very straightforward. - So straightforward. - Oh, I love that. - Yeah, so straightforward. So like, hey, what are you doing tomorrow? - Dude, this reminds me of this girl I talked to like a year ago and it's exactly how I thought about her. I'm like, oh, she's definitely going to be like, mysterious and elusive and like-- - Yeah. - Yeah, but like, she was the-- I had a conversation with her and I'm like, I'm really bad with my phone. Like, I'm just not going to respond. She's like, oh, I don't mind like, I'll double triple text you and like, if you ever find a knowing, just tell me to like, buzz off. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's a good quality. - I was like, oh, okay. And like, if I never responded, not because I was playing a game, I just like literally didn't get a chance to get to it. She'd send me another text and it wasn't like, hey, why aren't you responding. It was just like, another thought that she had. - Right. - She wasn't like, waiting-- - Oh, that's a good one. That's a keeper. - Yeah, she wasn't like, waiting to like, share-- I don't know. She wasn't waiting to send me another-- she wasn't waiting for a response just so she can get the next thing going. She was just like, oh, I'm thinking about this right now. Here's this. Or like-- And I really admire that. Like, I admire a person that like doesn't care about that kind of stuff. I don't know if that-- - That makes sense. - Yeah, that makes sense. - If what I said makes sense. - Yeah. - What's like-- - What happened with the two guys at the bar, do she guy get her? - Yeah. I mean, I don't even think it was like a specific thing. I don't even know if I'm referencing-- I don't know what I'm referencing exactly. Like, yeah, every time. - Yeah. - Every time. - And now that you're older, like, uh-- - But it's not worth being the douchey guy. Because I think you get the girl in that moment. Because I think it's just the chase. - Yeah. - But then you're still the douchey guy. So like, it doesn't really-- - Well-- - I also love the saying, every guy wants a-- Every guy wants a good girl to be bad just for him. And every girl wants a bad boy to be good just for them. Or whatever. I really like that saying. I think it's really funny. I'm like, wow, that's really strange how that works. - Yeah. - Do you want any dates in Kenya? - I don't know, maybe. - Yeah. - I'm not-- I don't know. I always find myself like liking people in different countries. - Yeah. - But like, it's just like such a waste of energy. I gotta stop doing that. Because it's just like, what am I going to do with dating a person from Kenya? - Yeah, like that girl, you saw in Croatia. - Yes, exactly. - Yeah, there was a girl I saw in Croatia when we were waiting for our boat to leave. And I saw her right at the fucking-- what is it? - Yeah. - The cafe. - Yeah. - But like, what a waste of time. I guess it was fun. I guess it was fun in the moment because I like got to like-- I got her number and I got that like my endorphins were running and I was like, fuck yeah, I got a girl's number. - Yeah. - But like at the end of the day, like, nothing came out of it. - Ah, but you don't know that. - Yeah. - It could have been, it could have been like, you know, it could be the one. - You have to, I mean, you have to do that. You have to like kind of turn over every stone. I believe that, right? Like, isn't it just like one big like math equation? Like-- - Not to be like cynical, but I just like truly don't think there is a thing that's going, like a person that's going to come my way, I'm going to go, this is the one. I just really, I'm really at the point. And it's not because like, it's just the way I think now, which is like, I have like this like, cancer in me, that's like always comparing people. - Yeah. - And I just like don't think like I'm capable of like doing that anymore. And it's all my fault, it's all my fault that I will never be able to sink my teeth into one person and like be like, yeah, maybe I should pursue this. - Yeah. - I can't do it. - The truth is, is that you're still really young. I mean, you're 30, that's like, I didn't get-- - 30s are the new 20s. Maybe you're right. Yeah, like by the time you're like 35, you'll be like, you'll have accomplished so much that you'll be like, oh, okay, I'm like, I'm ready to like share this with somebody. You just don't feel that way. I didn't feel that way when I was 30. I don't want to get married when I was 30 too. - Your mom gave me this piece of advice that like always rings in my head. And I think it's like, not fuck me up, but I think, no, it's actually, it's leading me in the right direction. I know it, even though it's like kind of like frustrating. But she's always like, don't, she said, don't settle. She said, whatever you do, never settle. - Yeah. - And like, I always think about that, and that's when I meet someone, I'm like, I think this would be settling. And I'm like, oh, I was like, is this like, is this the one that I would like chase till the ends of the earth? And if it's not, then I think about your mom, and I'm like, I feel like I'm settling. - It's really easy to know, you'll know, because the person that you'll end up with she'll be like, he or she, she'll be like that. - I'm straight by the way. - No, I know. - But just in case. - But we just don't know. - Yeah, we don't know. - She'll be that person that you can like joke back and forth with. That's it. That's just the person. It doesn't matter who she is or what she looks like. It'll be the person that you're like, this constant kind of that just lights you up. - Okay. - The way Naveen and I were always doing jokes and stuff, I think, if I didn't have that with her. - I've met people like that though, who are really good and joky. In my head, I'm like, I would have loved you in my 20s, because this is so fun. - But you're all jokes. What are you talking about? All you do is joke around all day. - I think I have, I think I love joking with my friends. I like sitting on the couch with my home town friends.
But like I don't you want something really solemn with your wife. I don't I don't know I don't know Maybe how are you today? I don't know if I've the energy to joke around with a new person. That's all what yeah I don't know just that sound crazy like I love I love my jokes with my friends I just don't have like I'll meet somebody really goofy and fun I'll be like you have the best energy like I just don't have it for I don't I can't it's a new person I cannot match that right now. What I don't know. I just like don't I don't have the but I also don't think I met the right person To like give the energy to have like I don't know of matching them with the flirting and with the let's go on an adventure Let's go on a car ride. Let's go to Malibu. Let's sit by the ocean. Let's go have a picnic. Let's go have a dinner date like yeah I just I don't know if I've met the person to give that energy to but what if you meet the girl that's like let's stay home Let's watch let's watch Iron Man again. Let's watch Pirates with Alex Wow You think she's out there, Jay actually that that is that is a crazy crazy person to find Yeah, that is a really crazy. You'd be more lucky to like you'd be more likely to marry like a Top-notch comedian because that's because my problem is I've said this on the podcast from time and time But like that's not something that a girl says yeah, right that she's No, I never meet anyone and the first thing or like the first day I meet them. They say yeah I love staying at home and doing nothing like no one says that And like sometimes they'll say they're a homebody, but that's very different. Yeah, then like yeah, I don't know Yeah, yeah, you you could find it. Maybe you'll find it. Oh, yeah, I don't know again. No rush I'm just talking about it because we have a podcast. Yeah, otherwise if we didn't have a podcast I wouldn't even bring this up because this genuinely doesn't No, I'm only expressing these thoughts because we have to talk. Yes, and then I would be like yeah This is what it is and it is what it is goodbye. You're also 30. Yeah, it's like so much time so much time Well, thank you. I've been thinking about dying and oh, yeah, and ever since I've told you this before to ever since the DMT It's like really freaking me out. Oh, yeah, and I used to not be scared of death at all We used to talk about it on the pot all the time what happened with the DMT that because you saw the other side I didn't see the other side, but I was like you did see something it was just dark and I couldn't communicate with you guys and I was seeing things it was just me and it was like the like really scary because I was just like a loan Yeah, and I was like oh my god. If the afterlife is anything like that If I'm alone forever It was it got really it was it's really scary to think about I've never thought about death like that I was very optimistic about death and like worst case. I was like nothing happens right but now worst cases something happens And it's just me by myself And that's been really freaking me out about death and I used to think as like I genuinely dead ass and I know this is this is with being young I used to think like if everything doesn't go my way. Yeah, or like if everything doesn't go the way I want it I'll just end it and restart like I used to be so Optimistic about death as it being this thing that like oh, yeah, you always wear that way like yeah I'll just I'll lily just in least harmful way. I'll just kill myself. Yeah, and I'll do it all over again Mm-hmm, and and not and like a sad way or anything. I'll just be like I'm gonna run it back like a new player in a video game Yeah, and I don't think like that anymore, which is really scary And my DMT experience wasn't even was it wasn't even an experience It was just the fact that I was for about four minutes. I was gone and I couldn't communicate with anybody out here And it's how do you forgive me the fuck out about developing some skills of Farming alone what oh of being alone Like when I was your age. I I definitely was the type of person that would be like if I didn't have people around me I'd freak out Like I I'd call people but what are you doing like I have to be around people But then as I got older was like oh, I'm fine. I don't know. I think I go it by I go in waves Where's you gonna go do a vlog by yourself? Yeah, for my 30th. Well, that doesn't have to be for your 30th. No, I know what that was the idea, but yeah, yeah should do it Yeah Put together like an old fashioned. It's not that I'm scared of being by myself. Sure. It's just a lot of energy It's that that's the only thing that's holding me back from it. I do like the idea. Yeah, but it's just like Traveling to like Serbia or wherever I fucking make this vlog like just by myself like I don't know airport TSA the whole thing It's just like exhaust me to think about. That's all right. It's not that I'm scared of doing the journey by myself I wouldn't want to do that. I wouldn't want to add a trip. Yeah In general Right right right let alone. I have to go do by myself. Yeah, so I don't know going to Kenya on Tuesday Yeah, which I'm excited about yeah, but then London really? Oh, yeah, and then London hey I'm going to London in September. I'm moving wide into school. Oh, I'll go at the same time. Oh really? I was gonna ask you that Yeah, do you want to do the road trip with me? Sure, tell us when you're doing it. We'll I got to be there the 14th great. We'll go that date Ah, you're moving your son into school around 9/11. Yeah for cheaper flights You pulled the John method Yeah, very interesting right save some money save some money All right guys, that's all the time we have for today's podcast. Thank you guys for listening and Make sure to tune in for the next one where I review spider-man. Bye

Summary:
FAQs
The gate closed on her Ferrari SUV while she was reversing out of the driveway, scratching it and hitting a large piece of the car that will require a big replacement.
The power going out during David's 30th birthday ruined the vlog's footage, including the poorly lit ending, so there's a 50/50 chance it will be uploaded to the second channel instead of the main one.
Tom Holland spoiled a plot detail in an interview, though the exact spoiler isn't revealed in the podcast. The hosts also share a story where Tom spoiled the ending of Infinity War by telling a theater audience he wasn't dead before the movie ended.
Jimmy Kimmel always signs off his show by saying sorry to Matt Damon for not having time for him. Recently, Matt Damon ended the bit by sneaking onto the show inside a Trojan horse gift.
Natalie and Jay both chose Adam Sandler because he seems to genuinely enjoy life and can make silly movies. David initially leaned toward George Clooney but ultimately agreed Adam Sandler is the better choice.
Y2K was a predicted computer problem where systems using two-digit years might fail when 2000 arrived, potentially crashing banking and other systems. It was heavily covered in media, but after code changes, only minor issues occurred.
