- I don't know, is anyone actually Samantha? - There you go. - A few people. - Many gay guys. - That's awesome. (laughing) (upbeat music) - Welcome back to Girls Rewatch. - A podcast about girls. - TV and girls on TV. - My name is Amelia Ritalar. - I'm Evan Lazarus. - And making her grand return to Girls Rewatch podcast. - Oh my god. - It's Lisa Trigger. (screaming) - So happy to be here. - No, we love you so much because when we had children I think I bombarded you. - No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. - I'm gonna have me on, I'm gonna be, yeah, I'm so sexy and sick. - Don't do this. - Don't do this. - I'm gonna, I'm gonna give you a compliment. - Yeah, I know, we sit on this podcast every week and we're like, Lisa changed her life because she went on the podcast. - You're trying to bomb her. - People really respected us. (laughing) - Our name's got some little respect in this album. - Yeah. - Means the world. - You guys just get it. - You get it. - We just, we get it. - We love that. - So you gotta do, I do I love TV and I love these show, I love HBO. - Yeah. - I think that's like a thing too. - Even a rich Canada. - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's true. - Wait, what is that mean? - She's a hidden rivalry. - I'm a hidden rivalry. - Oh, craved. - Craved Canada. - Craved Canada. - It doesn't go at this point. - Oh, I'm a full psycho. Like, yeah, it's like, it really hit you. - It hit me hugely, fully changed my life. Like, I actually can't even talk about this show again on another podcast. Like, seeing if I've only changed your life. - Oh, 100%. - Where have you been? - Yeah, like, front of her. - I'm sorry. - And my heart like it's changed, you don't take, no, that's my job. We're gonna say that. - No, like, everything changed this year. Got me out of my depression, started working with a Russian professor, started hypnotherapy, started dating again. Like, fully changed everything. - And your back, you have a world champion? - I went to the world championships, I would say far from a champion. People are really, really good. - Wow. - I was poorly insulting to them. I'm like, I'm sure I could do good and like, train for a few months and do it. And it's like, they've been playing for 27 years, five hours a day, doing analysis. So, like, I was definitely rude, but so open to learn. So, I've learned a lot, and I play every day on my phone. - Well, I mean, do you hear that? You were being rude, but you could be open to learn about Lisa. - Right, okay, I'm switching, I'm a lifelong learner now. - Well, let's learn about some girls today. - Okay, yeah. - Sex in the city. Season three, episode two, politically, erect. - Oh. - Such a good title too. - Oh. - It's like, so, it's sexy, it's fun. - They still have fun with it. - And I love when you immediately, you know, it's me themed episode. And I love when I pick a theme out. - Oh. - Yeah. - It's excited. - Well, and it's a two-parter, the season premiere, second, you know, like that time. Like, it's gorgeous, it's also, it's awesome. - A true episode arc. - Yes. - On the arc? - Oh my god. Okay, so a little recap for people who don't remember this episode. This is one where Carrie starts dating Bill Kelly, a political running for city comptroller. - Comptroller. - Comptroller. - Comptroller. - I googled it this morning. - And I think that's like police. - No. - Okay. - It's about finance. I googled it. - Oh, that's hot. - Yeah. - And suddenly, she's showing up to fundraisers like she's campaigning for the White House. And episode makes the whole comparison between fashion and politics. As we see Carrie weave in between gorgeous little outfits into beautiful little settings in the political sphere. This episode, we also see Miranda Battle of Pro Consles with Steve, who she's trying to see if she wants to get back in a relationship with, negative, his bad jokes, positive, his good butt. Samantha falls for a hedge fun guy who falls a little short on the measuring scale. He's around five foot three. She was not expecting that when she said yes to a date. Let's see how she deals with that. And Charlotte is running her own campaign where she wants to be a wife this year, okay? And she is doing everything in her power, even throwing her own kind of parties that seem a little political to me, honestly. And Sanford's there, too, trying to make straight guys gay, which I'm like, "Hello, he's back at his good stuff again." And all this episode, the big pinch of it all is that Bill Kelly, the guy that Carrie is dating, has a pee fetish, and let's see how she deals with that. So stuff your ballets with some good times, you fucking bitches, and get your best suit on. Bill. Oh, and Elizabeth Banks. And Elizabeth Banks, pulled up. I think Doyle is like a friend of mine. I probably think he's closer to me than he would want to be, but Mike Doyle for me. You're a good friend, Mike Doyle. Like a close friend. But I was at this Fire Island film festival with him. We went to dinner. You directed a movie. But like, we were like, you know, friendly. I'm so happy. I'm so happy. And he's the Bill Kelly is campaign manager. That's amazing. He's really cute. He's so cute. And he's gay, IRL. Yes. Yeah. Oh my god, he went method, we do that. He went method. But this episode is so good, and it's one of the classic things Sex and the City does, which makes things look and feel cool that aren't. Yeah. It's like a cop-troller events, like political things, visiting the school, get a life carry. Like to go with your boyfriend into a child's school. But they're always going to like jazz clubs in these places where it's like, if you went in real life, you'd be so bored and it wouldn't be cool, but they like, they make it seem chic as well. They make it seem so chic. And she has a big fucking flower on in every outfit. Oh, yeah. What is the deal with that? It's very like, clean Australia, it's very MUU, it's very two seasons ago, but the girls were wearing those big flowers, if you remember. Yeah, I always love in that show when they repeat certain looks or vibes, because that's what you do. You become obsessed with the thing and you do it as a real girl. So I liked that it was like a few flowers. They're always pick a motif. Especially this season, they always pick a motif for Carrie to have, that she carries throughout that episode. Or I guess that in this season too, she's wearing like pink and white almost in every outfit, and then this episode she has that large flower and a lot of things. And then I kept watching you guys like, fully took over my weekend, because then I watched one episode and I had the next thing you know. And then I realized I could like fast forward an episode, like I'm so committed. And then I was like, I don't even have to watch the one where she says a swear, you know? So you always forget that when you're re-watching a show, you're like, you've seen it 10 times and you're like, got to watch this one again, you're like, no you don't, but just I'm so jealous of the Fendi Baguettes and Baguette, I think I'm going to get one. You should get one. I want to get one. I want like the gold one. I don't love the glittery ones. I feel like the glitter would fall off, but like there was in a row where she just had a Fendi Baguette like every single fucking look was so. I love this sequence once on a slate. I do too. I'm just like too rough and tumble of a girl. Well, sequins, don't you think they're so sparkly, like it hides stuff? No, I think they're going to just fall off and I'll have a trail of glitter everywhere. What do you think she needs to hide? It's just like, you know, when you bat her up or stuff, great. You know how it's going to happen? Oh my god, there's this Cheetah Print one that's sequins with a blue buckle and it's truly my, there's so many beautiful ones. There is my friend, I just saw, it was knit. It's like, oh, this one. It's pink knit with green flowers. Oh my god. Oh, I thought you were talking about the one Fendi had this one where it was self, you could do self knit. They sent it. Oh, yeah. Did you saw this? I did see that. Or you can broider your own bag guys. I saw like a weird Instagram story of like, oh, I'm mom getting it for Christmas and crying. Like a dream and like she couldn't believe her. Well, I told you that was my mom. It was tracy. So we start off the episode. Carrie has an amazing blow out because she's trying to look like Jackie Kennedy. Is that true? The trench was nice. The trench was nice. It was like a nice trench coat, I feel. It was. And when the guy puts a pin through it and she likes to go trying to fix it again. But does spit fix holes? Like I don't get it. Right. I'm trying for you. Yeah. Does spit fix holes. It does something to them. No. No. Uh-uh. This is like, I always like lick my finger to like wipe off like mascara and people are like, oh, you're just introducing like 1000 new types of bacteria to your eyelid. And I'm like, fuck, like I never thought about that. Yeah. But if it's from my mouth to my eye, like who cares? No, that's mine already. It's all mine. Right. Okay. Yeah, I shouldn't be worried. Who are you now? No. This is a negative mindset, Amelia. You need to get out of it. Right. I think they were probably licking your finger from the street. Maybe they were talking about, but like, her famous moves, my fingers, eyes. You know, that's my favorite thing to do every day. Oh my god. It's amazing. So, okay. So we see Carrie finally sleep with the politician, which she was trying to play hard to get to in the first episode. Yeah. And she's on her before line where she goes, my political consciousness was raised. Do you remember? Okay. I got that wrong. Cut that. Cut that. She goes, so Carrie and Bill finally slipped together. And then afterwards she goes, that was the night I had my political consciousness raised. She said it wrong again, I think. Right? No. No. No. No. Well, I'm going out of order, I don't know how, but like when she's grinding on him from the top and you see her back later in that episode, that is the most actual fucking we ever see Carrie do. Yeah. Of course. Of course. Like, we never really see her naked body ever grinding or nothing. No. I know. Well, this is the thing we're at the end. He's like, you're kind of a whore that talks about sex. And she's like, actually, I'm a prude and you're a freak. We ever see Ariola for Carrie. No, because in her contract, I immediately shurowed no nudity and Charlotte. Carrie and Charlotte. No, Charlotte's naked. I remember she's wearing the red C through thing with Tray, where she's like, I'm your wife. Look at me. Oh, yeah. You see all three of them except for. Yeah. She's the old S.J.P.
not get naked, but you also don't see her, 'cause Miranda gets fucked. - Oh yeah, girl. - So you see them getting fucked. You don't really see that with Carol. This is the one time you see her kind of like, kind of moving on a body. - She's the Allison Williams of this franchise. (laughing) - Yes, as Allison, no need. - Allison's no frontal. That's why Lena Dunham wrote in the butt scene with Desi, 'cause she was like, "Here's a way around it." - Will you show Ariel up? - Survival to thickest, did you show Ariel up? - No, but I did have an audition for something where it was gonna be simulated sex and nudity, and they hate when they do this, but they called it and was like confirming she's okay with it, and so I thought I was gonna get it. (laughing) - No problem. - I think like, I would be stressed. I think I would be like, anxiety, and like, I don't think I'd be calm about it, but I would do anything for a part. - Of course. - Of course. - I was just gonna turn a book so hard. I would do anything. - I would just take a shot of vodka and be like, whatever. - Yeah, just mix vodka and get to it. - Yeah. - And honey, we're getting to it. I'll tell you who's getting to it. Steve, with its exclusivity talk. - Oh, yeah. - 'Cause he brings up to Miranda. So they finally are kind of like getting back and go hoots. Steve even brings up like that. They are kind of like going on their first date again, or even poses a date. And even the moment that for me poses a date, he goes, and it's time for us also to be exclusive. Miranda is a role in her eyes out of her damn skull there. She goes, "I don't know if I want to commit this yet." - She's making up a fake date that she has on Thursday. She's not seeing anybody else, but she can't let Steve know that. - I know. - Is that because she never actually liked him, or does she just hate herself internally and doesn't believe that someone would like her in the sway? Like I don't. - Ding, ding, ding girl. - I think she's scared of commitment in that way, 'cause she's scared of being left. - Oh, and I love this. It's like rapid fire conversation between Steve and Miranda. And Steve is like, "So are you dating anyone?" She's like, "I don't know." He goes like, "Just like you know, we could like go in a date." He goes, "What if it's a third degree?" And I love when she gets worked up like that. Her other eyes is me on my highest, too, girl. - I just love that Steve so obsessed. Like if I was dating Miranda and she acted like that, towards me, I'd be like, "She wants to kill me with a gun I have to leave." I would never stand for that. - But once you meet his mother, you're like, "Okay." - Right. - You know that he just wants a boss, a boss, baby. - A boss, baby. - Yeah, I mean, Miranda is the jackpot. Like he just gets to like watch Scooby-Doo in her amazing home while she works hard, right? - Right. - And now she's in the next episode she gets a housekeeper. So it's like, she's never had a better deal. - Are you happy with what happened to them in the reboot? - No, it's disgusting to me. 'Cause that's another thing. It's like, was this the plan all along where she wasn't even into it? Like, I don't get it, but he would've been fine with an open relationship. Like if Miranda was like, "I want to fuck some girls and non-binary's," he'd be like, "Okay." - Yeah. - He's going deaf, who cares? - I think you'd be fine with that. - I'm casually watching it. I started, that's another thing when he did rivalry. I started reading. I read 29 books this year. I didn't read it for over a decade. - Oh, he's a nice girl. - So I-- - She did, Robert is gonna fix the literacy crisis. - It has, though. - It legit has. So many people are reading. But I watch less bravo than I ever have since 2006. - Oh my God. - I'm like, really behind, but I got in, 'cause I like that there's a pot head. I always love when bravo has like a pot head. - With the new Haley. - Yeah, yeah. - Well Haley, I'm talking about even in this situation, 'cause Haley has the, what's it called the French term when it's like-- - A pietta tear. - A pietta tear, where she only sleeps his women there. - Yeah. - And that's, I feel like Miranda should have had that situation with Steve. - Yeah, and that's one of my biggest issues with them just like that too. It's like, Carrie, why are you giving your apartment to some girl when your literal best friend of decades doesn't have a home? - Literally. - It's, nothing adds up in that AI generated a repo. But-- - But no, I didn't like what happened, did you? Like, I just wish Steve was some, like, that would love him fully. But I don't think he wanted that too, but he would definitely have let her fuck around. - I don't get what he said, I'll leave him like that. - I kind of agree. - Well, I do, I, sorry, this is off topic and I would never do this, but Amelia doesn't know this piece of information yet. It's actually huge for you. - What? - So during a K+8 drama, Halley, the new housewife, she, her mother was like best friends for some reason, with-- - John Gosling. - Shut the fuck up. - He's been sent them up. - So, sent them up, and then after he, like, fled the relationship, he was like staying with the family. And Halley was only 22 years old. And all the tabloids were saying that they were dating together and broke up the marriage. So she had to flee, like, her whole life, essentially. - Because of the TLC show? - Because of this relationship, like, falling apart and everyone, and then she was forced into a marriage because she was in a safety, but she was a lesbian. So that's why she got to appear her tear. - So John Gosling, I mean, everybody's like, Kate and Horses is like, she's evil to John. Maybe, but John did his own bad things. - Yeah, girl. - I don't know, I feel like eight kids at once will ruin anyone's life. - Anyone's personality, any tether to reality, is gonna get ruined. - Well, the thing about Kate is now that I know for a fact that she's legally bad, it sucks that I identify with her oftentimes. - How did you identify with her? - Like, her, the way she talks and gets pissed off, I see myself in that, and to know she's a terrible mother and wife, it's-- - I know you already had twins, like, why do they need more? - They tried for one more. - And then they got six more. - In vitro, mama, you're playing the game. - In vitro, why? - In vitro, why even need one more? Like, people are sick. Like, maybe it's 'cause I'm child-free and really, like, I understand people want kids. That's like nature, but like, I don't get this. - Is this why you should be on sex in the city? - I know, but yeah, even, yeah, I just, I really don't get, you have two little girls, you need, you need to risk it all. - And the intro goes, and we decided we wanted one more, and we got a little more than we bargained for. We got six more, and then it shows her saran wrap stomach, and it's like, "Well, this isn't gonna be good." - I can't believe I watched that show. I really can't. - I owned it on DVD, of course. - Yeah, you know, it seems like you're a super fan. (laughing) - To be like 12 and your mom, get you season one and two of John and K-Post 8 on DVD, and you're like, "Yay, it is crazy." - It's amazing. - I know it also, like, same, but different, like the doggers, I just remember they would eat, like, tater-taught casserole and watching them put the, like, mushroom cream soup on the tater-taughts, and I was like, "This is not a life." - Well, this is not a life. - You should listen to all this daughter-duggers podcasts about their childhood, because it goes hard. - It would be too sad. I mean, I've done research on the millestations and stuff. - Yeah, that's so sad. - For my part, you know, I have a crime podcast. - Oh my God. - Yeah, you finished every episode of S.P. - Come on, no, it never ends. - Yeah. - So the crimes keep coming. - The crimes keep coming, that's it's keep coming. - I was Lindsey Clancy, part of your podcast. Are we covering it? - No, yeah, but I'm sure that'll be one this season. - Yeah. - Absolutely. - And then we'll get to it. - Oh, thank God, it's evergreen. You know it's evergreen. This conversation they're having too. I'll tell you this. - Yeah, look at that segue. - They're at, so this is maybe one of my favorite scenes in a whole episode. It's because it's so quick, but all the four girls, they're at brunch and they're talking about Carrie dating a politician and like, what their senses are on like, even voting to begin. - Well, Carrie is a vote. - Carrie's not registered. Charlotte is registered. Samantha's apolitical. Miranda doesn't care. It's giving everybody's apolitical. - I'm shocked that Miranda doesn't care. - No, I think she does care. 'Cause she has this moment where Samantha is like, "I just vote for who's ever to haunt." And she goes, "Really?" - Yeah. - I guess it is crazy to watch this. Compared to in just like that, because they really did a full 180 on where they stand in politics. But it is like, well, in the 90s, it was like this. But I'm like, the way people want to kill Abby and Alana with a gun for even having a Hillary episode. And then everybody's like, "I love sex in the city." And it's like, these girls are making fun of politics. It's crazy. - Well, Al Gore's, it's like, okay, for it to be the time, it's so interesting to see these women not aligned as Democrats so strongly. And it's time when they are rewritten as like staunch liberals, non-binary children. - But I do think 2016 changed everything. - It did. - It was like the heated rivalry of our world, you know? - Well, I guess they really had direct rules like not make it political. And I ultimately think this is why why this show is like so popular across the whole country. Even though it's like, it is a strong liberal text. But in saying garb, like so many conservative women love sex in the city for the aesthetic of like, drinking and like having fun with your friends and like viewing it through that standpoint without realizing like how it's about. - So my friend Melissa Rich, her day job for years was the Sex and the City Buffs Tours. And then she's doing this show on the bus tour. And she talks about how like women would come from all over the country to it. And then they'd be like, I'm a Samantha, I'm a Samantha. And then you ask about their sexuality and what they do and they are prued. They just are loud. (laughing) And it is just, they're not fucking anywhere or doing anything fun in that way. They're just annoying. - Yeah, they're just annoying. - That's crazy. (laughing) - I'm a Samantha and it's like, I don't know, is anyone actually a Samantha? - Hey guys. - A few people. - Hey, hey guys. - Me and you guys. - It's a mess like, that's actually so real. - Yes, yeah. - This is a whole time. It's been a big deal. - Daring Star rode himself in through Samantha. - I was like like some fag hags too. - You think? - The room is silent. (laughing)
- I just don't know if, I don't know if, can I say that? - You can say that. - I am scared. - A girl like you would both prom and sound and Fire Island a summer and is in love with you to ride really. You go ahead and say a girl. - Oh my God. I know Jake's been taking me. Jake Cornell has been taking it. Like I went to monster for the first time. Like I'm having like definitely a gay guy summer. It's been really awesome. I did Molly three times. - For me, winning books and going to parties. - Yeah. - You're like, "It's so complete." - This is gay guy summer. - But this whole, the conversation is just, it is diabolically funny because this show, I mean, it's so funny you watch the show, you don't realize like how fast pace it is. Like, just, I mean, writing, you realize, but like, even from a scene perspective, 'cause this is the fourth scene and we're like two minutes into the episode. And like every state has been set already. We understand like politically how all these women are aligned. Like even just the conversation of like how they started off where it's like, Charles, like, so I wanted to go to this political benefactor, so I can meet like politicians and donors in Miranda means like, "Oh, you mean rich and single guys?" And it's like, okay, we see the jaded girl. We see the girl who clearly is like after her future husband, Carrie goes, "Well, girls, he's not running for president. Samantha goes, "I vote for him, he's really cute." And Miranda then goes, "So?" And we clearly get and see the gay girl. - Right, we're like, okay, we know everybody's game of the scene. - It's so fun. - I do love that Samantha is like, connecting it immediately back to sex because then Carrie's question for her article is like, is sex political? As if we didn't know it was genius of her. - Well, show is genius. It's really like, that's why I'm just like, that was such a big failure because it is like, there is a theme, all their storylines fit the theme. They intertwine and then there's a conclusion. So many say, it is just so tight, so perfect. - It's not like the past. - It's work on, it's like, it's the cave shadows all over again every time I watch this. - Yes. - Yes. - It's Socrates. - We have to get the fifth girl, Socrates. - She's hitting the scene. First taking over the blowout and then the West Village. - We have to cut to her for his break, but when we get back, we will get into what's-- - Socrates. - Socrates, socrates. - Yeah, yeah. We'll get into Samantha and the Short Kings. - Socrates. - It's like a drag queen. - Socrates. - If you guys know one thing about me and Evan, it's that we love a deal. Hashtag deals deals deals. I'm short, so it's like, I don't really need a tall person. That's just not something I ever think about. But then this summer, I did go on a date and hook up with someone that was shorter than me. Which is hard to do. And I didn't like it. I didn't like it. I didn't like it. It was a boy. Yeah, girls. Yeah, girls can be-- And what didn't you like? I just didn't. It didn't. Did he have a short energy to him? Or it was just like, I don't know about this. It just didn't feel like-- You know, I was like full-- And I wanted to fuck, so I didn't really care. So I was just like, I'm going to have sex with this person and let's see, like, fully. Is it not? Is it? And so-- Good real thought. So even when he showed up, I did not do the sign and look at him like, did I get the book out? But I think you should put yourself next to items so I could know when you're in your photos. The jump scare of him standing up is like-- You have to put a door pick every time. Yeah, because you could be like a little tall. I don't care, but the shorter it was something that I wasn't. And so-- Yeah, so like, I'll jump with him. I've hooked up with people that are not tall. And data people that are not tall, but shorter than me, yeah. OK, yeah, it's a weird thing. Because I'm-- Did it have a good body? Definitely had a really good body, but like, something was-- What did she say? It was like an elf trying to-- I'm like, for something. There's having sex with a smurf or something. All right. No, I don't know. I just-- It's a lot. I wish I had more words to describe it. Because oftentimes when I stand up for the first time, people are like, oh, you're taller than I thought. Because I'm all leg, no torso. And so I look short-sitting and then I stand up. I'm so poor, Amelia. It's just like filled with adversity. But I felt connected to him, but in a reverse way. Add horsity. The text is not like a tall girl. I can't imagine. So it's like-- A tall girl. Do you like tall girls? You know what I've been noticing recently? I've started-- Sorry, never thought that'd be posed on this thought, guys. Do you like tall girl? I've started hosting a vertical show in Soho, and almost all the interviewees end up being models. And these girls aren't even that tall. They're just small. Like you can be five, six, and a model if you're Scandinavian. Yeah. So keep that in mind. If you're out there, you want to be a model. Become Scandinavian. Well, let's push it, girl. You know, it isn't interesting. Well, I feel like short guys are either always like Napoleon or Danny DeVito. You get like a really funny guy or Napoleon. Well, he's both. He's like hedge fund and funny. He's got the best of both. Well, he's rich and funny. I love that Samantha is like, you know what? He's worth it. And then they date for two more weeks, and she's like, I got to get out there. Well, the short king movement. I know. To bring it back. Have you ever heard some ones that call so much short without saying king afterwards? I did just a minute ago. Yeah. Short king. But yeah, because you have to work on your%. Because nothing is worse than someone that's better and like flaws forward. Right. If you can like have a good time like this guy, that's fine, but he does one of the things that I hate. And this happens on the show often where the guys are like, do you ski? I can ski. And it's like, well, I don't know. That's so gross to me. I did think his flirting in that scene. I'd be like, I'm being assaulted. If somebody talked to me like he talked to Samantha. Like the fact that Samantha was like into it, I was like, girl, not this. Girl, V hate skiing. I'm not going to tell you about the Winter Olympics. But that's how the old guy was with her too. It's like, can I buy you a boat? Can I buy you this? I don't know. That works on her. I know. It broke my heart because the voice over that Carrie does is like, she was sat in between two other beautiful women and he picked her. And it's like, why can't she pick him? Well, no, that she likes being hit on. I know. I just got bombed. The way that we can't win. Because it's like, oh, you're going to hit on me. Fucking loser or a few hit on someone. And it's like, oh, my fucking loser. Heading on somebody right now. But it's like she's-- There's not a way out, it's easy. She's happy that she was chosen over other girls rather than actually being interested in this guy. She's just glad she was picked. Well, unfortunately sex is a competition. Fuck. All of loving is competition. I mean, we ultimately, what do we do? We boil them and down to the fact of their height. And now we're being-- now we're being like, oh, you're going to pick someone. Like you're going to judge yourself against others. What we're doing is constantly judging ourselves. I know I'm being unfair, but I was pissed. It's OK, but you have to acknowledge why. I know, because I want to meet the love of my life so badly, but I've never hit on someone in my whole life. I don't really flirt. You've never done someone who does approach me. I'm like, I don't know what's happening. I think you're amazing. I feel like you would be really good at it. Because you know, I should train. I got to train. I need a hitch. I need to find a hitch. I actually have a few gay guys in my-- and straight guys that are constantly training me and coaching me. And so I'm being better out in the wild. Well, it's training so little. I need tips for trade. [LAUGHTER] No, I'm a flop, but someone just told me a story about watching this hot person go to a guy, put her hand in his pocket, and go, sorry, your pocket was hanging out, and then walk away, and then he followed her immediately. Oh, my God. But if I did that, I feel like I'd get hit. Is she really hot? Yes, she's famous. She's famous, San Hot. [LAUGHTER] It was in its way. She's like from vampire diaries, or like your more girl. Like one of these kinds of shows. You know, it works famous pocket-tracks. Pretty little liars. In that world, you know, I don't-- I do that when I kick her credit card out. Uh-oh. And I's robbing, and then they have to, like, come back and get their credit card. Try to find me. I'll leave you some clues. [LAUGHTER] It would be awesome. I can't-- even if I make eye contact too long with someone, that's why I was in hypnotherapy. My big goal was eye contact. Take care of yourself. You're really good on that. Yeah, because we were able to do it, right? Yeah, like, to be more out in the wild and try to hit on people. Did.
- How does hypnotherapy fix that? - The whole point is our subconscious is created and then our conscious makes decisions on that and hypnotherapy breaks up your subconscious 'cause it doesn't mean it's right. So you're living your life based on lies that you've decided are true about you in the world. And so she breaks apart your subconscious. - How long did it take? - I have to go back. But I probably did six sessions. My life was amazing and then I'm trying to get back and for just another little tune up. I need some tune-ups. - Right, it's like laser hair removal. - Yes. (laughing) - I'm just gonna touch up. - I'm gonna go back. - I need to do that. That's like the one thing I haven't tried to fix everything. - Hypno. - Hypno. - I'll do it on you. - Okay, perfect. I did do EMDR and it did change everything but I should do it again 'cause then like-- - I did one time. - No, I did it with a therapist for like eight sessions in 2021. That's why I moved to New York. - Oh my God. - I moved to New York because of sex in the city and comedy but sex in the city. (laughing) - Also with Samantha Jones business card. - Oh yeah. - It was so bad. - I know. - Descript. - The public relations is your specialty and that's your card, girls. - It was so bad. - Back in the day that was classy. - I remember when I had a business card for comedy. - Oh my God. - I wanna get one. 'Cause anyone who likes like, I like the pod or like, I'm like, well, here I have some shows coming up. - I just don't wanna do it, but my friend, 'cause I like other backgrounds, but my friend has his Instagram QR code on his background, so he just does that. - Oh, it's me, that's too much. - Okay. - 'Cause wait, I love that. Obviously set code promote. I'm like to walk around with the QR code as your background which is a defining aesthetic in all of our lives. - That's what I mean. I just can't look at a QR code. - Yeah, I can't be what, when I check the time, no. - 'Cause my eyes scan those things. I'm like, now I'm on Instagram. (laughing) - Oh my god. - Oh my god. (laughing) - But I think I would have fun with this guy, but for someone to go forward and brag about material, possessions is disgusting to me. - I know. - I know. - Do you think in the 90s it was different? - Yeah. - No, 'cause I bet there's people that want that now. - I do it now. It's actually preferable about Manhattan. We're always doing this. We forget about what Manhattan's all about. - Yeah, we forget that it's actually 2002 in Manhattan. - I was actually out with a group of friends in the West Village last weekend. - It's actually, and we weren't there. - No, we're in. - There was a bunch of guys in quarter zips. And it was like, you know, that's disgusting. And then my guy friend was saying, well, people fuck him. So if women stop fucking the quarter zips, they would stop wearing it. But it obviously is attracting the woman they want. - Yeah, it's not. - Men don't do things that don't get them fucked. And so it made me think like there are women who are like, I want the quarter zip. Like a Charlotte. - Yeah. - Charlotte would want the quarter zip. - Well, 'cause suits now, often times someone wears a suit, it's more remedial of a job. - Oh. - Because the quarter zip is like, you're working in tech, you may be working on, you're working in finance, but the environment has changed now. So like, that's the aesthetic of the office place. People in suits now, we think, oh, front desk guy. Or we think, you know, to show for, it's like completely changed. - That's so true. - Yeah. - Because it's like, oh, if you can have $250 athleisure, like you're doing something different. - Yeah, I know. It's very interesting. And look, I'm wearing a suit today. - Yeah, but some people want to be in the quarter. - You're so good at it. - No, in the quarter, you got to wear a suit. - Me going to court after this. (laughing) - Yeah, so that's a court. - You don't fight. - I hope people. (laughing) - It's jury duty season three, that's fine. (laughing) - That'd be awesome. - That'd be sick. - Oh my god, I hope we all get auditions for jury duty season three. - Bingers crossed. - Okay, so then they go to the political fundraiser. All the girls arrive, even Elizabeth thinks, - Yes. - Earlier to no day. - When the producer of "Pitch Perfect" showed up in this episode. - I swear to God. - I said, "You are gonna go on to great things, my lady." - I can't, yeah, that's like so exciting. - Yeah. - It is, I love when Stanford walks into this party. All the girls are like, "Sorry, I can't say long, I have vagina monologue tickets." - Oh yeah, and she's like, "Why?" And he's like, "Just because I'm not eating dinner, does it mean I can't hear the specials?" - Honey, come on. - Get 'em. - That is good. - And she treats 'em like shit. - Of course, but then she's a really good friend when he's like, "Can you be my wing woman?" And then the guy is like, "I don't wanna fight that guy, I don't wanna fight that guy." - That's the best way you can possibly do it. So I mean, even a wing man, I've asked thousands of people at this point to wing me. They won't go out there, why? People are too scared to do it themselves. So for her to even do that, A, big win in my buck. B, that's mixing business with pleasure when you ask someone to date, when it's also your boyfriend's. - Yeah, it was kind of free prong. - And then, after he rejects, Stanford, Kerry goes back to Stanford and goes, "Oh, he wasn't gay." That's the biggest gift you could give to someone. - I think she was being an amazing friend. - That's an amazing friend. - You're right. I take it back. - Well, at least in season two, I just think she catches a lot of stories for being a bad friend. I'm like, "Well, y'all live in a midwest and you're not actually fucking Samantha's." - Oh, I think it's more of a bike. - Well, not as a real person, 'cause it's like, "Why can't you see a thing about women?" Or like, "You know what, she's just the girls today." And what should I get to? I take it all back. I take it all back. - I'm sorry, I'm sorry. - She, we were literally complaining last episode like where the fuck has Stanford been. Like, Kerry has completely abandoned him. Why isn't he in an episode? So. - Honey, there it goes. And some Miranda also is walking around with political party, giving pro-cons Steve, Steve is failing, Steve is winning in some regards. And Samantha delivers the most amazing line. - Hey, she goes. No, I don't subscribe to a political party. The only parties I believe in are-- - Yeah, I'll do the line. - Hey, I don't believe in the Republican party or the Democratic party. I just believe in parties. - Yes. - And then the woman with no lines killed it. This extra, she had like, - Perfection. - It's like any kind of a movie, yes. - She doesn't have any-- - But she's a line three times. - Across the board, we all love the line so much for speeches. - It is like, it's the kind of line where if that was in a TV show today, it would like get canceled on Twitter. - Oh, no, I didn't think it would. - She'd be done in the sound. - Well, I said people are over political parties. That's what you're forgetting. - Oh, sorry, in 2022. - That's what I think is so viral right now. - In 2026. - I think it's more over every political party. And that's why this line has become so iconic. - Right. - Because it's emblematic of actually how we're feeling in this country. - Yeah. - I love fucking parties. - I felt her hair in that moment. You go, you're gonna do a large side swoop of the first time I come here. - Can we talk about Charlottes bumping hair in this episode? - It's like, yeah, you're trying to get fucked. - It's like being as good as fine. - It's going be-hive in a way where I'm like-- - Is that what Samantha? - No. - She's like, Samantha too, with the like, clip bar. - The eldest? - Yeah, this was crazy. - Oh my god, it was amazing. I just didn't like, I can't imagine like, Kristen Davis kind of exiting hair and makeup that day and ever been being like, oh, okay, so we're doing this for this episode. - Oh, cool, cool. - Well, 'cause yeah, 'cause I wanted her to be like, noticeably disheveled as she's like getting wasted, maybe. - Yeah. I love that she's like, I have to hurry because this is a two martini max party. And it's like, yeah, the politicians leave early. - These parties don't even make it to fucking two martinis anymore. - Also, he became horny and wanted to fuck. They only raised six grand, so much of that party cost. - I know, I was like, adjusted for inflation. - Six thousand dollars for a giant. I don't think even at that time would be a successful fundraiser. - Well, I'm sitting there and I'm like, well, that party definitely costs six grand. - That's what I mean, 'cause then later on in the episode, he goes, I'm not doing well in the Bronx, I might need to spend 50 grand to get voters in the Bronx. So it's like, so what we made. - You guys, this show has never been good at money. - Okay. (laughing) - He died. - It's been clear. He's never understand money. (laughing) - I just can't believe we got so horny for a single digit. Like, I don't know. - Yeah. - I was shocked. - He used to move the bus, like, it happens here too. I'll tell you that. - No, I actually, I did a Sex and the City trivia night to raise money for Puerto Rico. That was like a hurricane or whatever. I raised maybe $400. It took my whole soul out. Like, people were vicious to me. The worst women in the world. I did such a bad job. It was like, I spent months looking for prizes. I got donations. I did power points. Grading in the back. People writing horrific notes to me on their answer scores, like cheats. People were cheating. People were violent in the crowd. And it was like, at the end of the day, I think I was like, yeah, $300, $400. I raised the Puerto Rico. So I related him and it was just like a huge failure. I was like, oh, yeah, look. I should have definitely, I'm just donated. Totally. And I think I did make mistakes. And I would be better at trivia now. And maybe I'll redo it again one day. Learning opportunities. I learned the format. I could have done better. But like, it's hard. There's a lot of us. So way these women behaved. I would have stole the person directly from Puerto Rico. Oh, okay, I'll just tell you. So then one of my friends just dropped by to be supportive. He didn't know the show. But then his friend ended up owning the Russian Somervar, which is where Carrie and the Russian had their first date. Oh, my God. Then that guy gave the winning team a free dinner at the Russian Somervar too. Like the prizes were good. My friends, why I forked at HBO at the time I got prizes from HBO that every outfit sex in the city Instagram set prizes. Oh my God. And these bitches on the cards are like, is this almost over? Or they would yell like, I didn't realize Big had two drivers names. And so I said one, not the other. And someone screamed and I go, yeah, you get the point.
Like, this is for charity, like, it was, it was, honestly, it was insane.
- Yum.
- It was me.
(laughing)
- And it's some of the prizes weren't that good.
People threw the prizes on the floor.
I'm like leaving like certain prizes
or just like a pool in the wall.
- Why are we like this?
- I don't, this is the Republican sex in the city fans
that we just talked about, like, it is just somewhat,
it's just bitches that think they're like cool and inventive,
but they're just, you know, loud and annoying and rude.
- Oh my god, they get the unwell crowd at your heart.
- It's kind of like, Jessel, you know, Jessel thinks
she's doing something or being a hip,
but like, no, you're just being a vapid dumb bitch.
- I'm sorry.
- You run to that and it's like, yeah, I don't, like.
- Did you see her statement necklace recently?
- No.
- Girl, down to her ankles.
(laughing)
- That's a statement.
- That is a statement.
- I want to give a huge shout out
to this week's sponsor, Vinted.
I don't know about you guys, but I am feeling like
it's back to school season, even though I have not been
in school for many, many years.
But when it's back to school season,
I like to refresh my life.
I would say I'm doing a closet clean-out,
but I'm actually doing a clothing rot clean-out
and going through all my clothes and being like,
"Okay, am I really ever gonna wear this one?"
Or has it just been sitting here and it's time to let go?
- I'm just so glad we have a second-hand marketplace app,
like Vinted.
Vinted is a second-hand app that makes it easy
for everyday sellers, like you and me,
to sell pre-loved fashion and earn some extra money.
And with the inflation rates,
we are dealing with in today's economy.
And now more than ever, I need that cash.
It's super easy to list stuff on Vinted,
and what I love the most about it
is that there's no seller fees.
Which means I get to keep everything I earn
and use it to buy awesome stuff like this latte.
Vinted has no seller fees,
and the app is free to download.
That's right, just go on over the app store
and download it right now.
Listing items on Vinted is quick and simple.
And basically, once the item sells,
Vinted creates the prepaid shipping label for you,
so you don't have to deal with all that.
Vinted is helping me live out my sister
who did the traveling pants dream,
because I sold a pair of jeans on there.
And now another girl gets to wear them,
and I'm like, oh my god, I wonder if she looks like Blake Levy.
So if you guys are ready to clean out your closet
and make some extra money,
download the Vinted app for free and start listening.
With no seller fees, you keep every dollar you earn.
Let's close the loop on Charlotte.
So Charlotte, here's from Elizabeth Banks,
that she met her fiance at a party
where you bring somebody that you don't want,
and everybody can flirt with each other.
She works for party full.
That's cool.
Yeah, and I'm like, I've actually heard of that happening.
Like, bring your single friend you like.
I've never heard of that happening.
And by the way, I won an award for party full last year
for going to the most about the parties.
And you don't let me look at the USVPDS too?
No, but I get that number up, girl.
So if you check my profile right now, it says 402.
I mean, it says going to every event
and then goes to like,
well, I don't know what's going to happen to me tonight.
So it's like, I want to think prepared,
because I don't know what neighborhood I'll be in.
I don't know where I will be in this town.
If Evan says going, just don't expect them to show up, okay?
I know.
Maybe seems bitchy.
I always just say going.
I just say going.
I know, yeah, same numbers.
And you're going to be drunk anyway.
So you'll never know.
Yeah.
And like, by the way, I'm going to sell a lot of things.
And I just like having the address ready
if I do decide to go.
I did recently say maybe and then showed up.
And I'm like, no one who's ever said maybe shows up.
This is crazy of me.
I'm breaking a rule like they didn't expect.
They kick you out.
Make up your mind next time.
But so then Charlotte throws her own of these.
Oh, sorry.
They're waiting a line to talk about the pee fetish.
Yeah, we've skipped over the most important part of that episode.
Oh, because that's like kind of the biggest complaint
of the show I would say is that she's a sex columnist
who doesn't understand bisexual or wanting to get peed on.
Yeah.
You can't piss on a guy for the column.
For her to be a sex columnist.
If you want to piss on you, that's different.
Like, if you don't want to get peed on, but to pee on a person.
That's different.
You're doing it in a shower anyway, all of.
Just pee on him.
It's environmentally friendly.
It is crazy that she becomes approved so quickly.
Yeah, isn't that quite.
It's a quite interesting barrel bowl.
Her at the Indian restaurant refugees, you know, drink water
until she finds out that they're going home separately.
Not communicating in any way.
Just she could have just been like, I don't know if I'm into the pissing,
but we could talk about it.
Like she just instead puts on a hit piece.
And eating like the spiciest curry, just punishing herself,
like so crazy, sweating.
Like, eat the non.
Eat the non, girl.
Eat the non, girl.
Even if you don't have to do this to her.
It's a side of rice triacar.
But if you're going to drink water, we're gone for bad.
Oh my god.
He's like, drink up.
Because if you're going to piss on someone,
you want it to be more clear.
And by the way, he makes it seem like it's just so easy.
Like, she just goes into shower.
It's already running water.
It's all like he's he's being on her bed.
No, it's in the tub.
Yeah, I'm a fucking tub.
I don't get why he has to be so clean and get pissed on.
I can't hate it, but okay.
I think it's part of it.
Like, you're clean and then you're solely the guy.
That's like, like, guy, like it's the meaning.
And then he's just cleaning it all off again.
Yeah.
Why not?
I think it's just like we weren't in a King Fettit,
like a King Foward time.
I don't know.
But she is a sex columnist.
So even if she didn't want not like you should do things
actually don't want to.
But like to not be able to communicate freely,
like it just didn't mix with the column.
To be anti-kink and a sex columnist,
it's just like water.
I know.
It's weird 'cause it's like it's not even sex.
But even things that aren't like being by,
like that shouldn't crumble your brain
if you're writing about fucking all the time.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
You know?
But people still don't get by.
I'm not fucking and by does crumble my brain.
Yeah.
To be on the other side.
Do you want the girl or the guy?
Like that?
I don't know.
It is.
It's unique.
And the girl's gonna run out of columns.
She's going on a weekly pace girl.
You're gonna start peeing on a feud frogs, you know?
Boys.
And I get being heat on to say no.
But like I don't get why you'd be so anti-pissing
on someone.
I know.
Well, Hannah Horvath was the same.
She really didn't like it.
You get what she did.
Wait, when was Hannah pissing?
In season one episode A, Lierdo's need girlfriends
to add 'em peas on Hannah in the shower.
But he does, that's an anti-consent.
Right.
Right.
The consent of it all.
If he asked her, she would say yes.
She was so desperate for him.
Yeah.
You're right.
It's that he just peed on her with asking.
I know.
Yeah.
And then he apologized by putting up posters.
But that's when you get the cute photo of her in the lunche on his back.
Well, but I've re, I've re, I've re, I've re been rewatching like a month ago.
Some girls.
And Adam does suck.
Yeah, obviously.
He really sucks.
Lierdo's don't need girlfriends too.
They need to get it with the program.
And I say, Lierdo's are the only one that is down with girlfriends.
Yeah.
That is true.
That is true.
All of them.
And I don't think I've not peed on someone.
So I'm being very pro-peer on someone when I have it, but I would.
I would do it.
Because to me, it's like, I'm getting peed on, but like peed on someone, I'm like, eh.
What do I care?
What do I care?
I don't feel ownership of my pee at all.
Yeah.
I would just be embarrassed if they could tell I wouldn't like drinking enough water.
Like if they were discussed, like if they were not ear peeing, I think that would be sad.
No, it smells awful.
Yeah.
I'd be the humiliate.
No, it's because I had a Celsius and there's a lot of vitamins in it.
You should get shots.
That's all.
That's so funny.
But I wonder, you know, fetish people love a dirty food at times.
I wonder if there are people that want dehydrated piss.
Right.
I'm sure.
That's part of it.
It's a lot of people who want to be happy.
You hosting trivia where the women are like, that's going to stick with me.
I'm like, I made a PowerPoint.
I'm trying so hard.
I'm trying so hard.
It's insane.
she goes, Samantha goes, I beat on a guy once during sex, Maryna goes, Oh my God, what
did he say?
And Samantha goes, I don't think he even noticed.
And then Charlotte has this line I've been thinking about for way too long.
She goes, I one time stopped eating six meat for six months.
Oh, yeah.
When I heard that I was like, "What is that about?"
- Well, I don't know if it doesn't make any sense to me.
- I think it's just like what you do for a man,
like switching up, like doing whatever you need to do,
like she was pretending to be a vegetarian.
- How does a urine thing?
- Yeah, okay, I was like--
- Cause she's average, which was always really shocking, you know?
- Yeah, of course.
- Cause that, yeah.
- I think it's, yeah, it's her becoming a vegan
for him or whatever.
- Or like not eating red meat.
- But when I heard it, I was like,
does not eating red meat do something to your urine?
- No, I thought she had a tick.
I was like, she got one of those tics that makes you allergic to red meat.
Oh, that happens to the best girls.
I know.
Oh, okay.
Well, we'll move on.
So Charlotte then poses a single swap party, which I also, they're in line during that
conversation and like, for what, and they have cash in hand.
Oh, it's a movie.
I'll say it.
I like with PC together.
It took me a while.
I was like, are they getting on a ferry?
Like, I could not understand why they were on like a wild line of holding cash.
- No wait, it's. - And gala cavela cheese.
- No, no, it's where we saw Max and Molly take the galaxy.
- Max and Molly in the future.
- In the future.
- Oh yeah, where is that?
Quad cinema?
- Sure.
- I've been to the quad.
- I like it there.
- Well, you know, I am,
I'm very strict in a movie theater.
I don't want silence.
(laughing)
I need good behavior.
I don't want talking.
I don't want phones out.
I don't want to.
- I hate that.
- And people misbehave and what I've learned
is the weirder and smaller, the theater?
The more behaved people are.
Yeah, people are gonna crazy a bam or something. - No, and so now I know the screens are worse. The sound is not good, there's not a hot dog, but I go to the little ones. - No, you have to go to a place like teens can't find on their phone. - Correct. - Yeah, 'cause they do ruin everything. I'll love to you, teens. - No, we love a teen because that's the thing. I don't wanna yell at a teen 'cause I want them to feel free and live. - Their lives are so long. - Their life with their friends. So I go on off hours if I have to go to a popular movie theater and I'll move seats before I yell at a teen. - You are a change in your whole life to help protect teens from being like-- - I was at a carnival last summer and this group of teens were like-- - Got it in line. (laughing) - And it took all of my strength not to be like, "We're in line and I don't want any budging." I'm like, "Let the teens budge, let the teens budge." That's what you say. - Oh, great. - No, I am changing my, 'cause I don't, I go to movies alone too. Like that's what I'm looking for in a partner. Someone I could like be in a movie theater. - No, I would love to be in love in a movie theater. - I need to say this. - Is your carry with cropped hair being like, I'm dating New York City? - No, that's actually one of my hot takes. I got a haircut when I was that age two look like season five character. (laughing) I'm gonna try to find it 'cause I have printed photos of that era of my life. - The model actor. - But everyone's like the worst haircut, season five, the worst haircut. And I'm like, I truly brought that in and I got that haircut. - No, the problem was the smokey on me. - It was your H.O. - It was never the H.O. - It was my H.O. - I wanted my shirt, but I always had long hair. And it was kind of like, I had a posh spice haircut in fifth grade. - That was like huge. And then later I, long hair long hair long hair long hair and then I went in and got the carry season five. - I love that. - And I loved that. - And I loved yours. (laughing) - Carry season five. - Carry season five. (laughing) - No, because the way people are like, she looked disgusting. I'm like, that was like what I wanted from my life. - Right. - I do the entire town. I've written the carry season five photo and then it gets give me a blow out instead. (laughing) I love it there. - No, she's such a curly hair queen for all our curly-haired girls. 'Cause whenever my hair is big and unruly and frizzy, I go, I'm just carry. - It's my favorite girl. - Yeah. - I think I really did radically change the world. - As we both have blow outs. - Yeah. (laughing) - And it refused to phrase her actual girl. - Like I never seen my curls. I would wish you guys would do the same. - Well, you're here. - But I feel like I date New York all the time. - You are. - I cried in Central Park from just joy like a month ago. - Oh my God. - Because it was like this couple they were singing jazz hits. I saw little ducks. I had just been to Southern Bees to look at art and I was just like, I can't pull. - The thought of doing jazz but in the best part of it is the singing. Like. (laughing) - No, and the woman had a dog in her purse as she sang and the guy played this. - That's really cute. - It was like incredible. But then a girl came up to me, grab my face like this. No, she didn't grab it. I made that part up. What did she do? She had other friends. She goes, do you speak English? I go, yeah, and she goes, you're so beautiful. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. And I was like, you don't have to add that second part. - No. - But she definitely came up to me like a little ghost and said that on this day as well. - It was like a great day. - We gave couple months like that. They were like, so I was like, I love your notes. Is it broken too? To me on Tech Talk yesterday? I was like, is my nose broken too? Okay, after a stay. (laughing) - People are so fucked. The worst is when people are like, oh my God, you remind me of this person and then it's like truly the worst looking person you've ever seen and you're like, you must know that this isn't gonna make me feel good. - Yeah. - And it's actually, it's very Hannah Horbath when they're at the beach house and then Eliza's drunk boyfriend comes in and she goes, "Doesn't she remind you of Drunk Suzy?" The fat, once you can't even get out of fucking bed, there's a lot prettier to her. - That guy was the worst. - But this party is kind of the worst too. - Yeah. - Or do you think it's good. - But it's also like whenever they have other friends or they're going to engage in part of anything, I'm like, who are these people? - I know. - They're not people you actually need. - This is why party falls around 'cause you can invite all. And I oftentimes don't have a party and invite 426 people to it. - Yeah, and you know what? I love going to a party where I'm obviously like an extra. There's a freedom of eye. It's like nothing's up to me tonight. - And there's this amazing moment where Charlotte is talking to her guy to be, and he goes, I just want to cue, but it's amazing. I can email you photos like it's a hit-bissing on Earth and she goes, "Oh, I would love to see them." It's over. - I know, she's like, aren't we not allowed in there? And he's like, just go through Canada. They love Americans. (laughing) - Oh, wow. - But I do love the woman eating a sandwich and revealing to the little man that he's there to get dumped, you know? - Oh yeah, she's like, grow up, get with the program. That'll be me, grow a girl in my that one. - When a girl is like really tall and skinny, but her and I, with all of love, but she is like a, she's not like a Scandinavian face. - No, you're saying she has broad shoulders, is what you're saying. - She has broad shoulders. - She's a swimmer. - And I don't, and I think these are more beautiful women but they always have a tip on their shoulder 'cause they're so tall, like they're so tall that it is like, it's become like a disability for them in the dating scene. - And they didn't have tall girl or tall girl too, does it? - No, there's no representation in here. - Yeah, no, they were hunched tall. - They're hunched. - They're hunched. - My most cynical friend is five foot tan. - That is true. - Yeah. (laughing) - But we missed the part you wanted to talk about too, which is the Bloomingdale's boy department. - Oh my God. - We're hopping all around this house. - Well, no, that's actually the next, that's actually after departing. - So they fuck first. - They fuck first, they fuck. - Oh, this is when, okay, I got it. - 'Cause she brings him to the party. So Samantha brings her short guided party with the expectation that he will find someone else after he meets a tall woman on earth. We have a weird sandwich. He then comes over to her being like, so you're setting me up with someone else and she goes, yeah, I thought you could find someone else more your size. And he goes, "Annie, was I at you an hour in a sec? You think I'm a fucking golly green giant?" - I mean, and he did come through, but it's very like, oh, I have a ski home, you can go too. It's like, but I guess when he's so little, he must have some brag at all times. - Yeah, of course. - You're supposed to say, "Don't Miss Ki-Hum is so." (laughing) - It's truly taking me out. (laughing) - It wouldn't work on me, Miss Ki-Hum, I have to be honest. - I do love it, and Carrie is like, she's like, he barely comes up to my nipple, and Carrie is like, well, I think that's the perfect tie. (laughing) - Get a girl. - I know, I love a nipple action, but I guess then it would be like, is this, like a seven year old sucking, like breastfeeding, you know, that's the hard part. - And you know what, Samantha? Yes, and the situation goes for it's at dinner, and it's like, you know why, like, this guy, maybe it's no worries. But then, of course, he's wearing blooming del boys. - But also when he motorboats her titties, it's crazy. - Yeah, that. - I think we were take where I'm like, I think there's like, people that are like three feet tall, that are a lot harder than people that are like, five, four. - Huh. - Huh. What do you mean? - Like a full disability. - No. (laughing) - Wait, what's that actor from Peter Dinklage? - Peter Dinklage. - Peter Dinklage is so hot. - Yeah. - Yeah. - Well, sure, people can be hot. - I know, but it's been someone's five foot four. I think it's as you know. - You want something, either being really short. - You need to stand for something, and even if you're only standing up for three feet tall, but it's like at least, it's an identity. Five foot four, you're like, it's like, you're reading into things, or five foot six, you're like reading into things too much. - Oh, I get exactly what you're saying. Like, if you're a little person, like, you know it's your thing, you need like special accessories to live through the world. Like, you know what it's like to be fully rejected by society, so then you might have a more fun attitude or have a different, fresh perspective on life, and interesting, and then like, yeah, that's hot. Like, the vibe is hot, but when you're five, five, you're so close to a height, people like. - Yeah. - Yeah, you don't know what it's, like, you don't feel grateful. - No. - And you do have this chip on your shoulder, yeah, I get what you mean. - It's a lot hotter. - Wow. - Yeah, I feel that. - Yeah. - I definitely feel that. - I like confident people. - Yeah. - Yeah. - I don't want you to be insecure. I think that's the biggest runoff for me. - Yeah, you're always so mad when I'm being insecure. - I hate it. It's like my least favorite thing on me. - I'm gonna walk out the room and be like, I can't with you today. - I can't do it. It brings me down, 'cause I'm very sensitive to emotions. - Yeah, I think about Jason Statham a lot, but I think he's just like five, six or something, but I love him, my mom loves him. - I don't know who that man is. - I'm you do. He's in the bag, and like, be keeper, transplanting, spy. - Okay, he's married to Rosie Huntington Whitley, or whatever, he has a Victoria's Secret Angel Hot model. They've been together forever. He comes to her fucking tits, and they're so hot together. - Oh, I love that. - He is really hot, too. - Well, yes, but that's the thing. The short guys that are bitching all the time, it's like, we'll be Jason Statham. - Yeah. - Yeah, exactly. - Like, be inspired. - Be a Beat A-List actor. (laughing) - It's one simple fix. (laughing) - Just get something done with your vibe, like, you know, 'cause I do think, I mean, not some, but some of this still fucked up the guy for weeks. - Yeah. - Yeah. - That's amazing. - That's almost a month if he rounded. - And she came five times. He said that one time they found. - I think that's the best that she got. - Five is, like, she must have been hydrated. - Hello, come on. - Hello, come on. - How many clothes at the episode? - So we have amazing scenes. We believe this, oh, Ceeve tells Miranda that he loves her. And that's the biggest pro on her list. And she's committed back to Steve. And then the intro lines to that scene is, Carrie goes across town, Steve was suffing Miranda's ballot box. - Yeah. - So beautiful. - I love it. (laughing) - So beautiful. - So beautiful. - I love it. It's like a crazy partner, like, and I love you. - Yeah, and it's like, the horse just ran over the horse face. And it's like, and you're the fact that I'm as beautiful. It's just, like, the humor to Ernestness is so amazing in this show. - I love it, I love a pond. I love a themed pond. I love her. - I love this show. - I love this whole, and that theme pond. And then Samantha and Jeff go on to date. And that, where we're talking about that earlier, where she sees a boy's apartment in Bloomingdale, SAG.
I'm like, Bonnie's still blue and dials, right? - It is still blue, but I'm so curious. - Well, I will say it's like the in-store line. That's why it's a harder thing for me. If it was our morning, our morning, I would have said, of course, but blue and dials in-store line. - Well, and it doesn't have a child's department in it. - He has a ski house in the blue and dials in-store line. That's, to me, it's just a problem. - Yeah, him being like, and the boys close are cheaper. It's like, well, that shouldn't be a part of the story. - It's spring for Gucci, you know? That's what my thought is. - How do the tailor get a custom? - To me, to me, I wouldn't mind that. Like, if it looks tailored and nice on you, that's better than where I'm gonna get an oversized coat, right? - And knowing it all is my suit, yeah, and that's okay. - We've only been talking about it. - It's fine, it's fine. - Can you be ridiculous? - Maybe with a ski house. (laughing) But what's your little frog on your tie wearing? What are those hats? - Directly Napoleon hats. - Oh, funny. - They're kind of warden. - Wow, even more theme. You're like incredible theme on theme on theme. - Vintage with ski-no Napoleon frog hat. - I feel ridiculous in my outfit. - Oh, an absolute fool. - And this is suit is from the '50s. Not to brag. - Wow. - Is this the one your parents begged you not to wear a graduation and then you didn't go to the- - My cousin's wedding. (laughing) - But you wore it anyways. - Honey, please, come on. Emerald Green and Newport. - Mimi loved it, Mimi loved it. - She didn't know it, you know she had a busy day. - She had to get married. (laughing) Okay, then we close it out with, what would you be kind of alluding to this whole episode? Carrie and Bill, the pee dog. - In the shower, I love that. They're like, let's do bathroom with it. He's in the shower, she's sitting on the toilet being like, listen, I just can't do it. And he's like, well, fuck you, you slut. - Yeah, it's the worst. He truly is such a little fucking insell in that role, man. - It's so scary where he's like, honestly, everybody on my campaign thinks this is a bad idea. And Carrie's like, you're the one who wants to pee on me. And he's like, yeah, but I'm not gonna post about it. And Carrie's like, she's just fucking crazy. - It's just so elegant how they use apartment in this show though. Like, going to the bathroom, her toilet seat is up. She brings it down, which is also a moment of closure. It also is a reference to the pee itself. She has, she, no, it's beautiful. - And I love the woman in a sheet. 'Cause I feel like that's only in TV. Like, I've never wrapped around a sheet. - Yeah, women don't typically do that now. - TV shows now they're not following them through the apartment either. Like, this to me, it just feels so seamless. And he's behind the shower curtain, which is so cinematic as well. And you have this disjointed voice. - It's an attached voice to the body. And it's just like him echoing almost Carrie's own insecurities. It's part of the reason she didn't want to date him to begin with, was because she couldn't see herself with a politician. She's not that kind of girl. And it's the same reason she had with Big, where she's now being herself up. 'Cause she doesn't feel like she's that kind of girl. She's a sex calmness. She's lesser than, and then, and then this whole episode, it's absolute praise. Like, a way that Big had never given Carrie once. He goes, "You're the most perfect girl. "I can't see myself with anyone else. "It is so wonderful to be with you." That's what she was craving from Big. And she can't internalize that because she's so scarred from it. But then the same pain that she felt with Big is actualized all over again. - Yeah, words like. - But she reclaims it this time with the hit piece. - With the hit piece. - And then another great facial moment is like when he reads the article, and it's just like, "Literacy P or not to pee?" That is the question. And he's like, "I will say as comedians "and artists in general are Biggest things in life "that all ordinary, I mean anyone, everyone's an artist, "but one of the best things that I at least feel for me "is that like, if I go through a traumatic event "or even a breakup, I can contextualize that into comedy "or into a story." And it's like, you're claiming some part of the narrative all over again. And Carrie gets to do that here. Once again, I ain't talking to anyone else who goes through a breakup here. It just ends, it dissolves. And it's like, so it's those emotions. - They can always post on Instagram close friends. - Well, honey, they only had email and that's evident from this episode. But it's nice that like, I always like turning any like breakup, like anything I have like, and like, sorry to guys that date me, but like into some kind of like, small hit piece or like when I got stood up, like making a whole like TikTok series about being stood up or my most recent breakup. It's like every, it's kind of like it's like. - It's also like a defense mechanism too. Like you're humiliated so bit, like so hugely. And then you're like, "Well, I'm gonna write a bit about it." And then yeah, it's like, "Well done." - I did it for the plot for the narrative. - Yeah, there's like everything is worth something when you can like, retell it. - Yeah. - It's beautiful. - Lisa, we have a really important question. - Yeah. - Girl, what girl are you? (upbeat music) - Listen, I am a Carrie. - No. - I am. I am. Nothing hits me harder than when she's at the bus stop and then the bus comes and she's on the bus. And then the woman at the bus stop goes, "Wait, why are you taking the bus if you're on the bus?" (laughing) And that is how I feel. I feel like my finances are MS. And I'm really technology averse. I am, you know, in the creative arts. No one knows how fully, why I'm functioning. I have Tiffany's bracelets. I'll never own property. (laughing) I'm just like spending nonstop. I love going to events. And I do feel selfishly I would bring like, the bullshit bagels. - Right. - The good, I would actually bring the cream cheese. That's like insane, she did that. But I definitely feel like I wanna talk about myself and my issues a lot. But deep down I am a good friend. I will run to you on New Year's. - Oh. - Like I will be there for you out, yeah, nonjudgmental. But and I make bad decisions. I like people that treat me poorly, curly hair. And yeah. - You're great apons. - Everybody who said they're a carry on this podcast so far has never made such a good argument. - You really are great. - That was really, I'm like, you did it, you heard. - And I'm almost cool, you know? It's like, am I in the lit? Like I'm almost at the list, I'm almost in the countdown. Like, you know, I'm at the premiere, but they're like, not the party. Like I feel like I'm almost there. - I'm almost there. - You just show to email. (laughing) - Yes. - I'm in the movie, I promise. Like I do feel that way. And I like going to events. Like people are always inviting me 'cause they know I'm gonna go. So like I'll go to a play, I'll go to a music thing, I'll go to the part, like I'm down. I like dinner, you know, I'll do all those things. - Yeah. - I feel like, but romantically I'm Miranda. Like I am eating cake and no one is fucking me. And I'm mad. - Perfect, perfect. - So like sexually I'm Miranda. I'm just like a feminist, I'm pissed, stopped centering your life around men. But life wise. - You're excited about any pair of shoes. - Yeah. I want shoes, I want to spend money. I don't know how much my Renta, I don't know how things work. - It's not up to you. - What it's not. - No. - Whatever happens, that I have no idea what's going on. - No, it's really nice. - And I'm questioning, I'm questioning. But I would pee, I would pee. I'm like, and I would gladly make out with Alanna's more side, you know what I'm saying? (laughing) Like those kinds of things. But I would definitely let big treat me like shit over and over. - No, I don't like that for you. - I don't either. - No, but I do feel I'm a little ping of Charlotte 'cause I'm a hopeless romantic. But I think Carrie is too. - Yeah, she is. - No, it's true. - Yeah. - How many we all are? - And I can hear her. - So that's how I feel. - I'm curious, wow. - Okay. - But I'm doing for this episode because I would love a job where it's mostly about outfits. Oh, I hope they get there one day. - Oh, like to be the boyfriend at an event. - Yeah, I'd love to just wear a cute outfit. I'd love for death to be my priority. I also love when she was like, I have a deadline, and it's like your one column. You stupid bitch, and I feel that way too. - I'm like, I have to go work, and it's like watching an SVU episode. - Right. It's like I actually have a pack of days. - Yeah. - So. - I still undermine what we do here. (laughing) - And then I'm really a girl or girl or you? - So I'm Miranda because I'm so-- - Oh, I have one more Carrie thing. - Oh my god, yeah. - I also don't cook and my stove and oven are store. I put things in there, so on top of them. - You're not real. - I actually told my cleaning lady I was just like, you have to stop putting things on my desk. I actually use a desk. If you don't know where to put something, put it on the oven, like put it on the stove, and then inside my oven is all of my like, vases and ash trays and little things that don't have space. - I will say also another thing about you. - I've never turned it on. - You hate second homes, which is a famous encounter, does it all? (laughing) - You should unplug your oven. - I wonder if it's even plugged. Yeah, I've never used it. (laughing) I have never turned it on once. (laughing) - I'm just like, that seems like that could something could go wrong there. - No, it's an electric, 'cause it's flat. That's why I put my stuff in mail on it. - There's a timer on it. - I don't think? No. - No, I'm fine, you're fine. - Not our battle. - Yeah, not our battle. - We don't have to take it off. - I don't have plates. Yeah, I don't really like do that. I'm not in the culinary arts. - You're gonna do Tiffany plates. I hate to tell you about that. - That's amazing. Your life sounds awesome. I want to do that. - No, I feel really grateful for my life. I obviously have huge flaws that bring me down day by day. I'm in it by minute that I'm thinking about always. - Of course. - But overall, I'm like, and I'm carried and I'm going to the Whitney Museum. I'm being brought as a plus one to the Roy Lichtenstein event. - Oh my god. - No, it's today. What do you talk about? It's Wednesday. - It's on Thursday. - Are you being serious?
- At least I'm when I'm going to tomorrow. - You're going to something else. I'm going to Robin Williams sag after things tomorrow. I swear it's today. (laughing) - I could be wrong, I could be wrong. - You are killing me. - I hope I'm wrong. - You know, you are. Someone is telling me it's tomorrow, it's today, right? No, she texted me, it's today. Lisa, so pumped for Wednesday. - Wait, I'm probably wrong. Let me check my email. - I am probably wrong, please. I know it's like after this. I think it's me. - We're both carry. (laughing) - The leaders too for licensing events. (laughing) - What did I actually talk about Roy Lichtenstein in this episode? - Did they really? - Yeah, Roy Lichtenstein is brought up when Charlotte is talking to the guy at the first party before she realized he's dating Elizabeth Banks, and he goes, "I love comic books." And she goes, "Oh, Roy Lichtenstein is great." - That's right, I actually don't like his art at all, but I'm excited to go to. - I think it was Edward Hopper in this episode. - I love Edward Hopper. - Again, both of these. I have Whitney Staples right now. - I don't know that. - Yeah, the permanent collection for Edward Hopper is at the Whitney. - I didn't know that. I'm obsessed with him. - I love him. Have you actually looked around the house, my grandmother, every year, buys me a different Edward Hopper print? - Yeah, I learned about him when I became your roommate. (laughing) - I didn't know. - Wow. - And then I just recently learned that he had like a whole Cape Cod kind of vibe. - Yeah, I need it. - I didn't know about 'til the start. - He's kind of amazing, 'cause you went to Provincetown. (laughing) - What girl are you? - Sorry. - Oh yeah, I'm Miranda, 'cause I hate when people try and cling to me. - Okay, that's her episode guys. - Bye-all. (laughing) - Lisa, I just, I wanna plug, Lisa's Netflix special is the funniest thing I've ever seen. - You know what? You know what? She does a friend group on this very couch. - Six people and I came out. - I mean, we're like, this is truly the funniest thing. - We were laughing her little asses off. We said we know her, she's so funny. - Thank you, that means the world to me. - You guys are incredible. - We have a fashion forward joke at the camps. A like, truly tense me out every time. (laughing) - I'm glad you gave it context. You could see by my face. Like once I record something and they fully leaves my brain fully. - Of course. - I don't remember anything. - Oh my god, it's so fun. - If someone asked me to do that tomorrow, I wouldn't be able to do any of those jokes. - Oh my god, you're talking about yours. - You're talking about yours, the videos where the horses get their hooves cleaned or whatever. - Oh my god. - I felt seen. - I felt seen. - The best joke is you're like, you're talking about the plus-size fashion at Macy's and the six-four. And you're like, and they put it next to a cinnabon. (laughing) It's Regina George, the president of Macy's. (laughing) - It's so funny. - Wait, that's another, I don't back anything up, but I have no hard drives. - Oh my god, do you need any of the hacks creators and be like, you have to send me a blu-ray? - Yeah, that is my dream. - It's gonna be a lost media. - That's so funny. - Let's just have it. - Well, thank you guys so much for listening to this episode. And we love you guys. Talk to you soon. - We all eat anything to partner. - All right. - I'm on the road. I'm always on the road coming to a city near you. And then, so I keep my delta diamond status. I am performing in Hawaii in December as well. And I would love to break even. But, yeah, I'm gonna be in like, I'm truly in everywhere in America that you are. I will be there. - Oh my god, let's go see her alive. She's literally one of the funniest girls we have. - If you wanna laugh for once. - Yeah. - For once. - For once. - Bye. (upbeat music)
