Ugh, I hate Mondays. King's Hawaiian Cinnamon Swirl Bite? Uh, Taylor Hansen? Sure, I'll try one. Mmm. Hey, let's get back to work, please. But Taylor Hansen's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian Cinnamon Bites. Taylor Hansen? Nice! Try one. Mmm. King's Hawaiian Cinnamon Bites. There's nothing like it. Welcome back to Girls Rewatch, a podcast about girls. TV and girls on TV. I'm Amelia Urtaler. I'm Evan Lazarus. And today we are covering episode, season two, episode seven, The Chicken Dance. And making her grand return to Girls Rewatch. It's the one and only Katherine Cohen! Are we taking it straight to Cam? Like, hey, I'm back, bitches. When did I come? Was that like 20? It was when we lived in Hasidic Williamsburg still. And I brought a doughnut. I remember because you live by that. Don't I brought about 12 to 14? Wow, I could go for that right now. We popped you popcorn and we were just snacking the whole time. That sounds so good. Romeo, this is not how I envisioned this. The thing is, there's no bakeries. Allison in the room for listeners at home. Kat has a dog on her lap, a real one. I'm a mother now and I have my dog. And this is funny. He's being kind of kooky. This is unlike him, but I'll put him in his bag if he's naughty. Okay, thank you for having me, you know. His first. I'm in Bushwick. It is not. Oh, he loves it. Oh, his first time in Bushwick comma. It is not. He goes everywhere. He was all around this town. I have to expose him. He loves the city. He's a total SA TC head. Talk about the best show of all time. I mean, I want to watch this morning, please. I love to be on this couch with you guys. What's going on? Like, how are we doing? Like, what does this show mean to y'all? What does it mean to us? Yeah, too much. It means everything. It's unlike to watch it. I've seen every episode. I think I think it probably I have a vague memory of being in college and like locking into my parents HBO account and being like, oh, I can watch. I can finally watch. They used to air on E. Remember this? It aired on everything. And it was censored. So I would watch like the censored episodes channel 44 shout out. And I was like, this is everything. Well, they played at 1.2 speed. If you remember. No, the times. Because they had to fit sitcom ad schedules. Whoa. Are you talking? So fast. Me? I have been told that I'm sure you have as well. Comma bitch. Been to before. Comma he has anyways. And then to see the show. I mean, it's it's it's revolutionary. I mean, every single time we watch an episode, we text each other. Every frame of this is perfect. Well, here's why it's perfect. One. The jokes are so funny. Easy. I'm laughing out loud. Every character. I'm laughing. The performances, please. Beyond faces looking normal. Right. Brian was watching this morning. Is the guys all looking? So normal. I was like, I know because not everyone is Yossified Pilgrim on Euphoria, right? Like I'm loving the faces. I'm loving it. Still got it. So nice about it. It is freeing. It makes me want to put off Botox one more year. Don't you dare touch Botox? I'm going to not. But I did get some footage of me where I said, well, something has to be done about this. Imagine I got photo back a couple of months ago. I go. So we've entered the crone era, right? Literally. Oh, so my face is full. I'm not even 35 and I'm at death's door. No bones. But it sends your bones aging. No Botox sends your bones. Oh, yeah. So they are looking at cadavers of Botox people versus normal people. No. And since the muscles are calmed down because of the Botox, they don't move, which makes the bones be like, oh, I'm ready to disintegrate. And so people who get Botox have like frailer brain, like frailer skull. And they. Not frail skull. Frailer skull. And it's like the same thing with like Ozempic, like brittle bone disease is going to be everywhere because of that. Like it makes your bones stop working. Well, if you're not using your muscles, your bones lose strength. And so it's literally making osteoporosis happen. Well, I heard Botox makes you autistic. What? That I can believe. Because it's like you're looking in the mirror and you're used to your face not really emoting. And then you forget how to recognize emotions in other people. And then you like can't connect. Because you're like, oh, my God. Anyways, I'll probably do it soon. No, I have once heard a woman, a wise woman say, don't do anything till you're 38. I go, okay, 38. That's reasonable. But 38 is the new 28. So that's scary. Okay. How about, well, it just feels like people are doing it at 22. That is true. That to me is crazy. Preventing Botox. What are you preventing? It's a myth. Please. Oh, my God. Anyways, I am like forever. I did just get a red light mask. So I'm no better. Than any other. Which one? Which one? So it's really specific. It's called Omni Lux. I asked a facialist what I should do. And they told me that's the one. No, she told me Omni Lux is the best one. What do I know? I will say I went to Sisu Clinic and they offered free Botox. But I chose to do the salmon sperm facial. Now, what is Sisu? Sisu Clinic. They've got a flat iron location. They've got a Soho location. So you're not saying what it is. You're telling me where it is. You're not telling me what it is. It's where they do like face mod opportunities. Oh, it's like it's like a botox. It's like peachy. It's like a botox startup. It's like a. How do you spell that? Not peachy. S-I-S-U. And so they stabbed me with a million needles. Remember that song? Didn't even know. I want to get into TikTok dances now. But they made my face bleed. I had a panic attack on the street. But you have perfect skin. Well, because of the salmon. Do you think it actually did something? I think it did not work at all. Well, famously, the real ingredient that's supposed to work is illegal in the US. And so most people have to go to Korea to actually get it done. And then the people in Korea are actually not even having results. Why are they not having results after all that? It doesn't work. It doesn't work. I want to. I love those TikToks. I went to Korea for 12 hours to get 25 procedures. I'm like, I need. And they're like, it costs $2. Oh, my God. I want to have one baby and then have full body surgery. Wake up when the baby is 18 and then be like, ah. Let's hang. They should invent that for women. I know that's my life plan. Like just coma for 18 years and then wake up absolutely snatched. Y'all watch The Valley. Love. Never seen it. But love, of course, please. I don't know about that. Oh, my God. Anyway, it's pretty. Just got a mommy makeover. That helps. I'm done. I'm done. Okay. Really quick. Let's talk the episode. Jeremy Field stays with Miranda for a week and gets engaged to her interior designer, Madeleine Dunn. And Miranda's like, piss. This makes Miranda feel ignored and, of course, unlovable. And this makes Charlotte eager to fall in mad love quickly. And this makes Carrie, of course, feel insecure about her situationship with Big. Meanwhile, Samantha across town is realizing mid hookup that she's actually slept with this guy 15 years before. And now she feels like she's fucked everyone in Manhattan and is annoyed. They all go to the wedding and everyone is emotionally triggered by something as TV episodes tend to go. Oh, well done. Every intro. We should end like that as episodes tend to go. Yeah. Should we need more to go? Carrie loves a pattern. God, she's so gorge. Every outfit. I'm just like her in the braids. I'm she's lost my mind. I was like, why am I getting chills on my iPod? Why can't my hair be that exact way? Is it not? Isn't your hair wavy? It's curly, but not like that. Yeah, mine. I haven't addicted to blow out a while. Is that her full real hair? It's her full real hair. God. But, you know, she has a team. Right. There's a whole team. I know. I know. With the team. With the team I could do. Yeah. Would you do curly hair if you had a team? I've done wavy hair with the team and I'm like, OK, this I can get behind. But on my own, I struggle. Well, it's a lot of maintenance. I, of course, have a blowout membership because I can't wear this amazing place called License to Glow, where it's multiple spaces all around the city and you pay one low flat fee a month. Oh, so I'm about to do that, by the way. What is your hair? It's curly like this. Yeah, but you really have to use a lot. A lot of gel to make it act right and blow out. It's like you can go once every four days. They wash your hair for you. I know. I got one recently, as you can probably tell. Yeah, it's just like, oh, my God, it feels so good. Every time I get a blowout, it like does. It's first of I never asked for it. And second off, it always kind of does an amazing thing to my face that I could be any person in the world. I would I can't even. It's really amazing because I get my hair down. Yeah. Do you have a picture? It's my phone is kind of recording the podcast, but. Afterwards, is my whole ass in frame or like what? What do we think? And keep this and keep this in. No, but Natalie, if it is like, do whatever. Because I could change positions, but I'm so like, no, it's the way I record an episode. Like, hey, I'm like putting my tampon in. I'm like, hey, guys, welcome to the podcast. Sponsored by you have a little something in your teeth. What do you like? Do you like to be told or not? No, I went to see who's ball. That would never happen. What see Sue? See Sue is in Flatiron, Williamsburg and beyond. Why'd you go there? Me vamping? Because this woman was like, you know, do free stuff. And I was like, I'm in. But is it ever worth that? Ultimately? No, because I had to do a collab real and it got seven likes and everybody was like, can you not do this? I know embarrassing thing I've ever seen. Every time I've done anything spawn, it's like one, like no comments. It's me commenting. Good job, girl. I got my own post. Whatever. Be using my other accounts to be like, yes. Oh, my God. How many do you have? Five. Oh, wait. So this podcast account. your personal, keep going. - I have a meme page for my, monthly stand-up show um and then i have my open mic account and then that's four well you got it you can do one you can watch anyone's stories i mean you know if they block your number you're blocked from forever from every account your phone number it's now based off phone number not based off account that's amazing yeah thank god but it is like you have to mute certain people on everything or you're just gonna get triggered every day oh my god how many people are like when you see um wait what how many people when you see their account you go who's on your mute list how many on your mute list you know what it's usually people i like and want to continue to like like evan's muted oh i didn't know that no way just on one account because i was getting it on too many that's crazy it's so funny because amelia will always come after me for what i post online and then she and then i go did you see this video she goes no i've never seen any of that and now you know what you don't even know one of my pieces of content my favorite my favorite's manic or mother it's all i have it's so good whenever evan does something a little bit like whatever i get a dm being like it's one time it happened three times a dm saying what being like you know your co-host is misogynist fuck you amelia and i'm like yeah you're like wait a second thanks for helping i didn't even see that one people need to go to bed but it's fine no it's not but it's okay we can work through it yeah wow i can't witness that review of course okay what are they saying if you don't get hate you're not doing it right i mean what do you mean they say everything i told you i posted about getting an aura ring and they're like oh so you're okay selling your data to big whatever i'm like yeah i actually am i'm gonna pay seven dollars a month actually to do it yeah i go i haven't had a secret since 93 but the only time people really engage is when they're hating yeah i know you're doing it right people really love to engage well people who don't live out loud get really upset when you live out loud smile no the internet runs on hate just like america runs on duncan this episode is sponsored by i had to ban myself from my aura ring because it was ruining my life it's not good because every party i'm at i'm like guess how many minutes of rem i got yeah and also like if you have one drink of alcohol it's like you're dead you're a corpse doesn't know that about you um you can just tell did you know alcohol affects your sleep that much because it sucked to learn that that's that's been so transformative hmm i didn't know that are you sober curious now uh no i mean i'm occasionally forced to not drink and i'm curious about that oh god um anyways yeah whatever okay whatever is not what's going on with this episode because it really there's a lot of metaphors and all my metaphors here i mean dive in even the concept of the chicken dance to begin with right so what what does that mean to you guys so to me um it kind of talks about the institution of marriage itself and how at weddings we conduct the chicken dance which is where people put aside their dignity in order to like come like communally partake in a harmonious nature of being at a wedding you have to put so much behind in order to be that embarrassing so to you so just just to to start from the beginning is the chicken dance and so it's like so it's like fun it's humiliating is what you're saying and so a wedding the ritual itself is a chicken dance to you because it's a chicken dance exactly it is and as someone who is about to partake i know what's it like to be like planning a wedding i mean it's so easy for someone who's always like ah everyone come over i'm planning a party like that's if i think if you're someone who doesn't like attention or planning or events you would be in hell but for me i go check check check i go i love attention i love dressing up i love gathering people i love community it's finally a event do a wedding and i have and i'm about to get people to come no what i'm saying is it's actually a relief because i'm not promoting the event right i'm not freaking out about like so and so needs to come oh are we too many people it's like no no but people love events they'll do anything yesterday my email got a hacked and it sent an email out to everyone on my um list that i was planning an event at rsvp you know i spent 20 minutes trying to open that i know did it get you well now everyone in my context has to change their password to their gmail oh god which is not my fault and then i have to i did have a call to fb and i was like oh my god i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry i'm so sorry well because i the computer had been the people in nigeria that got into my email have been there for two months and they did learn a lot about me which is great they've been in your computer for two months how do they get in because i clicked on someone else oh because you went to a fake rsvp yeah i've been getting those too those invitations i only got one name from a girl who had a social non-profit so i can't believe they got her the way i was like why would evan plan an event on like paperless and not tell me about it ahead of time that now you know watch out for the scam um no every event i've planned uh yeah like the one hour before i'm like no one's gonna come and then it's like okay best night ever so whatever um no planning outing's fun it is a chicken dance in some ways do you believe in marriage would you say i hope yeah right actually yeah it's such a relief yeah you don't have to play these games anymore but it's just like such a relief to have a partner for life who's like i got you babe right i feel so supported not to be so nice it's everything that's amazing like he's lit of but isn't it kind of the whole i mean the whole prognosis hide into a metaphor please please please but the prognosis of the episode is like the institution of marriage and just checking off the box and that's how she's able to get into the pause after four weeks well i also love that's why i loved not to jump ahead but i loved the ending so much right that was really powerful oh my god hurt my head and my heart yeah what happened at the end again the bouquet oh no one picked it up there was this they no one wanted to pick it up yeah they all watched it fall everyone said no there's this tick tock video of the bouquet being thrown and all the women running away from it oh that's amazing so much have you guys ever met someone for one week and been like we should get married no but i would love to get there i'm open to it it does not happen you're no madeline and what's the guy's name madeline and jeremy fields madeline and jeremy fields love i mean it would wedding at the plaza in four weeks it would never happen well that's the whole basis of bridal wars so for it to happen what's bridal wars with anne hathaway never saw you've never seen this is it great oh my god it's kind of the best movie ever it's like one of those ones where it's fun yeah yeah great so they both it's best friends and they have they both want to have a wedding at the plaza but there's only one weekend open and then anne hathaway saves all her money up and then at the same time goldie hawn's daughter who is cameron not cameron um jennifer hudson kate hudson kate hudson and her two they all come together they cameron diaz jennifer hudson and kate hudson all of them come together i know their best friends turn worse enemies do you know that my grandparents got married at the plaza and the one in new york that's so isn't that the most fabulous thing you've ever heard it was a different time there's a different time we could get a reservation are you doing a new york city wedding i'm no i'm getting married in houston texas ever heard of it yeah we're doing new year's eve oh my god as a ball drops a ball will drop that's gonna be huge is it like all your high school friends coming um some high school friends some college yeah a little bit a little bit to get married in texas it's like that's what they do there like it's it's there's no better place i never thought i would i mean as someone from texas i'm sure you're like fuck this i'm never getting married here i was the fact that i'm doing it is so crazy but then you know it's been long enough i've been gone long enough i was like it's actually gonna be so fun to bring everyone from my life back home right and you did that yeah i'm like i would never do that but i've also just never been in love with anyone so it's like what you also don't know how you'll feel as time goes by time passes yeah wait is it because everything in new york is so expensive that's part of it but turns out actually everything everywhere is so expensive which has been amazing to learn whoa the numbers are crazy did you ever look at europe did i i'm not doing that i'm not making people come to europe for my wedding i know but that's a gift our friend charlie just had to go to italy to ordain everybody at the wedding lives in west virginia or north virginia or whatever oh my god and they all flew to italy for the they flew direct well they must have had to stop somewhere the classic west virginia what is a the episode so the episode so basically miranda is emailing this guy that she kind of is like maybe we'll fuck if i let him stay at my house but then he immediately has a meet queue with her interior designer madeline and they fall in love and miranda's of course pissed miranda this entire episode i'm like you are so raw and real nobody acts like this anymore like she's everything she's so fun every line she says i'm guffawing her ability to deliver a pun like it's like the most natural sentence in the world like is so incredible i would love for hell on earth to be released on my life so i can make this many puns that fast because you do need ammo you would love what like i would love for hell to happen to me so i could have ammo to make puns oh do you know what i mean it's not just something you can like manifest right it's only because she's emotionally stressed that she's able to write puns come from a bad place so you do need your do you think they're generated from a negative space puns yeah they can't be coming anywhere my friends make amazing puns and i like i feel like they're doing well i hear pun all i can think about is the nick shirts oh yeah loving the next year everyone's so mad or happy why are they mad wait both are true you go first okay people are really mad because they're like fuck the bourgeoisie i never used that word out loud before um sounded good and they're like of course they'd use four dollar t-shirts instead of buying fucking merch though they're like oh they're pretending to it's like fuck them they're not even real fans they're wearing fake merch oh god and it's like okay sorry okay sorry but i've actually haven't seen one hate comment yet we live in different worlds wow threads is a wild place well they're not mean on there they need to be really like open-hearted no i've seen some crazy shit all love island oh that's fun who do you like on love island sorry not to no please uh i'm loving i hate a melody for months now it feels like but i'm kind of around to her in the most recent episode i wonder if i watched the most recent or if i'm one behind the one that came out last night i don't know episode eight what happens so sincere has his second hangout with soul oh yeah i really don't like that sincere is like she basically threatens him into saying he's gonna put her first and he's like yeah yeah i'm done with her and it's like you love soul oh my god did you see the look when they kissed sincere and soul are meant to be i don't like soul though i don't know why i can't connect why it's just because she's new i know i hate the new girl give her time because she's not part of the in-group give her time she's not gonna work her way in they're all jealous of her boobs yeah yeah she's an absolutely beautiful body they literally the two bombs bounced in it was like boom i was like the craziest thing i've ever seen because it's just amazing to see well they really make the bombshells bombshells i know they're amazing at that this is the porniest season yet it's because i think they want a more male audience i of course haven't seen a lick of it but everybody's saying everybody look kind of normal hot but normal but and then all the bombshells are like stunning yeah oh i didn't think about that all i know is in the first episode they're like what's your favorite sex position and then and then the girl says doggy and ariana goes tell us about that tell us about dog which actually ties a miranda story right it's a concept of social comparison right we have to love where we're always we're all in battle with each other that's the worst thing to happen to you ever and kind of that's miranda's story it's like her almost husband who had no idea they were dating is getting married after four weeks and now that's destroying miranda's whole world wow so we're in a place of miranda carrie and charlotte all really want marriage and samantha's kind of like why yes because samantha's well now she wants marriage because she's gone through everyone she's run through and when you run through at a point her drunk at the bar being like we probably know each other because i fucked you i was like that was so funny then we fucked in college like this genius performance she's so good she's everything but yeah okay so miranda's pissed have you ever gone on they start on the date and then she's like we should maybe go back and they're like yes go and she's like no worries at all but i was like miranda let them yeah mel robbins walks on the screen do you believe in let them do i believe in let them um yeah i really did i listened to the entire audiobook and said yes and then i saw one girl on tiktok and she was like oh my god i'm gonna be like she what's it called from a poem she stole it she stole it from a poem was the topic sentence i watched all 14 minutes oh my god she stole from a poem but then it was disproven what is she called it was disproven it was just it was both like it was first then out of soul and then disproven well it's not unique enough to think that you you're the only one who had the idea i know it's when people say amy schumer stole a joke and i'm like no she just thought of it yeah well we don't know okay see this is our biggest fight pot being stirred well don't know do we know oh my god look at babs locking eyes with me oh barbara okay anyways so then what um i don't know why this episode has headed me into a tizzy why how do you guys normally do this no it's because it's it's kind of different every time oh okay okay yeah usually let me know how i can help we come in different people every episode um well as i recall last time you were on we went off subject constantly but then everybody was like i like it when you did that oh interesting well i think we can't listen to notes good or bad do you listen to notes no i mean we can't listen to comments go to our bed well because well that's all we do no you don't every week we read the spotify comments and talk about them that should be a different podcast i know we should have after hours i used to do that and then i just i i made no i've seen too much i'm someone who likes negative feedback because it helps me feel like it helps me confirm my negative thoughts about myself no because sometimes i'm like everybody's so nice to me i feel fucking crazy so when i'm like you do suck i'm like finally someone's like existing in the same world i am but it can be negative and evan's like stop and i'm like i wish you could be in this with me you guys are going through something i don't believe in anything that can't be so i believe in everything oh that's so easy it's so much better that way but i think like a negative comment it's like well they don't know a damn thing well it we've lost i hate to say it but we have lost nuance online so what am i gonna do no way no way it's good there okay this episode to me i mean what i admired about it is i was just like it felt like a cool glass of water in the middle of the night during a hangover the hangover being the current media landscape i go finally you're rescuing everything is so shit that to watch an episode of television that's just perfectly orchestrated everything ties together every storyline is resolved i was like this is so delightful and it looks so beautiful it's so stunning like carrie and the toothbrush thing was so funny i was like now why was that hot to me the way the way he did that silently i was like why is this cute that's because he was so hot but also just so demonic he sucks but i was like this is if somebody well because he knows he knows death creeps in through the gums so you have to protect everything you can do also the fact that he had access to electric toothbrush back in the day i just got my first electric toothbrush last week because i went to a startup and they said i have pre-cavities and i said i don't know what to do i said i can't see sue well when he opened it was actually an amazing amazing prop work because he opened it and the pink head just popped out i go the prop master slate it's like and it was so yes i remember that having seen the episode a while ago i remember seeing i remember that visual i can't i can't imagine that like wasn't even prior like that was that was that technology of the day maybe they had pop-up toothbrush it was like but he's also such a fan has had just come out so everything was he's so fancy so maybe it was even more delightful she was like oh my god - Oh my God. - It is like, she is in heaven when that happens. and she's like oh my god he's perfect and then at the wedding she's getting triggered because she's like oh somebody could like want to live their whole life with me he just wanted to give me a toothbrush and I was obsessed and it's like we accept the love we think we deserve literally what did y'all think of the poem really bad really quite bad girl her laughter was the first step down the aisle was I think it was a line I'm gonna have that read at my wedding well why don't you guys do a joint reading of that oh we'd love to for forever that was crazy and I'm like girl you can get through the poem without crying like grow up but you know what's actually crazier what's crazier is that the girl she doesn't know asked her not only to read a poem at the wedding but to write one to write a poem about their love and it's like she doesn't know either of them that's crazy yeah I do love Charlotte in her sexy her getting pissed off and being like I've been really Mormon in all the last weddings when I was bridesmaids I get to wear a backless dress this time and then immediately fucking the guy on the like marriage bed and then immediately meeting the family and being like I've been assaulted I said this plot just keeps getting thicker she was and how amazing that then he goes I don't need a girl in some slutty dress I go storyline completed literally oh my God you guys like that guy backless was like so slutty his name was Matt Healy right backless the backless is still out there you don't think so I'm just I haven't seen in ways that it used to be captured I mean it was funny because when she walks in I'm like that dress is not slutty because we're used to like transparent nipple holes like yeah that was shocking to me we're used to chapel with the nipple piercing like mash chain mail I literally was like you can't even see her I'm like she looks like a fucking prude but then she's a virgin loser she turns around but I'm like well the back is sexless really for you well just in that like in high school when they had dress code I was like I'm allowed to wear a tank top it's hot like I'm allowed to wear a backless thing like it's really hot wow it's not sexual and they were like it is and to me it's not because otherwise I'd have to wear like long sleeve to high school long sleeve to high school which would suck you might have had a better experience if I wore long sleeve to high school yeah because you have like less to pretend about when you cover everything up right because you know yourself sometimes I miss high school is that okay to say oh my god really yeah I just like the structure and I knew all the rules and now that I can do whatever I want it kind of scares me a lot totally I love being told what to do I love being that's what I think even you guys you sent the google invite you go come to this time come to this place at this time I go perfect well details are like a Friday sorted I love google call invite well people the thing is you'll bring it up in a conversation you go please can you put this in google call and then people for maybe two weeks and your dear friends will put it in google call and they never will do it again wow it's been causing a rift in my improv group what's going on with your improv because someone was assigned to be google call which one I can't name it doesn't even matter who it was because they haven't been doing it well we were like whoever with them will you figure it out that's just dot com well google and now I'm like now I and now I have to rely on a text chain to figure out where my events are you're you're checking part of all you can do anything I can do anything so you're checking part of over tonight's plans like I'm sure but it's the only way to live what do you think what do you think's on there well here's the thing last year rcp to enough events on party for that they did send me an award so I have to keep that alive for myself so there's like you think you're gonna do like a night where it's like you're going to three birthdays I don't go I rcp you don't go anywhere I love to say yes opportunity but I don't have to do it so you're not gonna go out tonight for the number or what are you gonna might happen but I will be saying yes to three different like gay guy birthday party what are you doing tonight Amelia I am going to a comedy show that starts at 630 for some reason wow aren't doing stand-up we are bringing clothing we want to swap and telling the story about it and it's feminist that's kind of beautiful that's so classic yeah it's at the pink frog cafe what's that is that new um no with a cover do you like yeah you have to what do you mean they won't let you in unless you pay a cover even during the day yeah especially during the day well maybe that's good because if you're like really there to work is that the idea no because I don't have tables they only have is it Hansen's making my day way better with these new soft and swirly King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites Taylor Hansen nice try one mmm bites King's Hawaiian cinnamon bites there's nothing like it do you guys believe in love at first sight or lust at first sight which one lust lust which is huge I'd love to experience lust at first sight yeah what's going on with you romantically right absolutely nothing at all never but you don't want it you don't crave it yeah I'm like crazy about it I'm not craving wanting to crave it but if we're honest no I think that's your superpower think of how much you could accomplish if you don't if you're not thinking about some random crush I know but I feel so disconnected from everybody around me and all media all media because all media is like my heart's broken imagine listening to a song and being like I don't know what she's going through that sounds crazy let's open up the DSM and sort of get you sorted I know but it's like I just think is it okay for asexuality to be a real thing yeah what's wrong with that I just hate it and when people speak on it I'm like no here's the thing if you deny a label then you can never build identity or community around it well this is my problem is i'm having an identity crisis because i don't know who i am when did that start newly and be asexual right that could be amazing to be what the first girl with newly and asexuality newly newly the clothing rental service i love it too we got a sponsorship finally was on my vision board for years oh amazing well you know what's annoying is that they wanted to sponsor the pod but then i'd already paid for it and then i couldn't like use the free months no you can add it you can get another one there's actually 12 items no there's actually a um a video that shows you how to add it because i was in the same predicament i should have done that it was too long ago now should i give my petite mom my three months or should i try it out you should try it out it's fine okay where's your petite mom living westchester okay close by she loves yeah are you dating anyone do you believe in love at first sight i don't know i've actually never felt like kind of worse about dating why i it's like because i'm actually not on the apps and then every time i am trying to like give sex eyes in public but that doesn't even work people are sliding into your dms no yeah but those are the scariest people on earth every time i go on a date with someone on my dms it does like turn into them like having an open mic in six months yeah that's tough that's a classic every single time i know i know it happens to me about 12 times last year's at a point that it did break me in half and i just can't like think straight after that i know what you mean and then and then i often like will conflate my own feelings of like romance with someone else like success and then that also puts me in a trap wait wait your feelings of romance with someone else's success like you think you're attracted to them because you are successful oh interesting and then i'm like in this hellish position well that definitely makes them more attractive of course someone's achieving their dreams that's so attractive what's wrong with that because then i i'm like because you're not physically attracted to their body have you have you googled identity crush versus right i have an identity is that meaning you want to be them as opposed to be with them i have no identity crush is like you see something in them that like that's like what you crave or you're like they're farther ahead on their journey like oh that's they know something i don't maybe if i date them they'll teach me how to be the person i'm destined to be which isn't where it's at which i i actually think i actually think you can fuck your way to the top wait wait wait like isn't that a different thing but i mean like in terms of like well if you're gonna date someone you might as well date someone who like you do like what they do outside of sex yeah right you have to have but you have to like the sex you have to like both Yeah, I agree. Wait, I think if you got on stage and talked about being asexual in your stand-up, it'd be amazing. I really do think so. I am so scared. Of what? It's so powerful for you to be like this hot girl who's like, I actually don't want it. I would die. I forced myself to go on 12 dates at the beginning of this year. Did anything stir? She was going to go on 25 and then. No, 12's a good number, 12's a good number. Oh, the classic 12. I was keeping a Google Sheet about each date and I was like, these are people who like movies. They aren't data points. You can't use them like this. But my problem was that I went on a third date with this girl and was like, okay, maybe I'll try and hook up and see if I get into it if I keep going. And then mid-hookup, I was like, I can't lie. I have to get out of this. And I was just like, I have to leave right now. And then I felt so bad because I'm like, what a waste of their time. And then with every guy, I'm like, I can't even pretend. I just, I can't. So the pull is stronger with women. But with men, it's like dry as a bone. Well, it's almost dry as a bone with both. But with women, there's more topics that we could talk about. Yeah, I'm like, isn't that friendship? But it's friendship. So the problem is that I was going on dates and I was like, she would be fun to hang out with. I don't want to kiss her even a little bit. Oh my God, if you went around telling me my new show is called Asexual Princess, you would literally like skyrocket. You think? Yes. Because we're going in that space. It's unclaimed. No one's talking about it. It's so interesting. Everyone's socially asexual these days too. Right. It's good for Gen Z representation. No, Gen Alpha. Like you're thinking ahead. Oh, I gotta think ahead. If you go asexual. Okay, I'll think about it. Maybe you're true. You should even think about it. I should go asexual? Yes, yes. Blow up my life. Call off the wedding. Wow. Okay, I'm just saying, I think it could be cool. It's good to cover sex in a city and be asexual. Well, this is my whole thing. It's like all I do is talk about girls on TV and all these girls are doing is fucking. And then I'm like, I'm such a fraud. Every week I get on my podcast and talk about these girls and I'm like, I'm just like them. It's like, girl, no, you're not. But you're not saying you're just like them. You're analyzing them. I'm saying, oh my God, I'm just like her. Which girl are you? You're Char, no doubt. I'm Charlotte. I actually think I'm asexual Samantha because that's my politics. Okay, cool, cool, cool, cool. But then no action matches her action. So confidence, no follow through. Yeah. Cool. And who are you? Stan. Stanford. Oh my God. R.I.P. What a legend. Oh my God. He's so good. But he's in Japan. Oh. We're going canon. Wait, we should ask you. I didn't know that we were like considering and just like that. I feel like it's a separate. But no, we should ask. Yeah. What girl are you? Girl. Yeah, come on. What girl are you? I go, give it to me. I don't want to hear it. You know, I don't know. I used to be a fan. Hi, Samantha. I'm, of course, a little Carrie. Yeah, I'm a little Miranda. I'm no Charlotte. You don't think you're Charlotte? Am I Charlotte era? You're aesthetically Charlotte. Brown hair, brown hair, kind of Jewish a little bit. Yeah, yeah, but she's not. But she's but then she has to. And actually, her and Harry are goals. They aren't amazing. So is Brian Jewish? Of course. Yeah. So then you're you're Charlotte. Brian is like a Harry Steve hybrid. Well, because he's definitely not Mr. Big. I guess he's a little Aiden. Sometimes work. That's all you can hope for. And it's so hot. He is the hottest, but he's not aging. Well, isn't anything like culturally people care about? I haven't met him yet. Wait, let me think. So wait, I mean, what? Who do you think I am? I think you did. I think you I think you're Samantha because to me, you're like sex positive city woman. I know. But it's just interesting. Now that I'm getting married, that is crazy. I'm Samantha going back on your values because when I met you, that wasn't what it was like. I used to and it wasn't from a good place. I used to just have sex with every single moment. Did you not think it was good? No, I loved it. But then now I'm like, that was coming from a place of hurt. It has to. Sorry. Oh, no. Sometimes it was coming from a place of fun. Sometimes it was coming from a place of I'm too scared to be alone in my apartment. I'm serious. And I'd be like, I have to fuck someone tonight. I can't be alone in my apartment. And my God, like seven or eight years ago. So over here, I'm terrified of someone. Being in my apartment at night. That would be so scary. Get out. That's because you're Gen Z. Yeah. And she also has two roommates. Right. They are always around. Oh my God. I'm like, I make myself so scarce. And then the two minutes a day, I use the kitchen. They both have to be in there. My stomach is sick. Thank you. That's what I'm walking. It's like, oh my God, how are you? Oh my God. It makes me sick to my stomach. I'm like, guys, by the way, I'm an introvert at home. So if we could just lay off the question. Everyone except for Kira is an introvert at home. I know. This is Kira's social time. This is Kira's world. Yeah. It's her world. It's her world. We're just living in it. You know, sometimes in my own apartment with my life partner, I will fully go AirPods in and just like walk around the house like acting like he's not there. You should do that. That's good. We both will listen to our own podcast and like clean up. It's so amazing. That's so cool. You're getting married. It's actually a gorgeous story, your life. I'm excited to get married. Yeah. It's fun to be like new era. To be city date girl. To be like, okay, like actually he loves me too. I'm like, we're going to do this. Are you bright, Zilla? I'm not bright, Zilla, yet, but I'm still leaving room for that experience. Do you have dress? I have dress. I have multiple. Do you have marketing? Wait, are you switching? Do I have marketing? Do I have branding? No. Hashtag? Oh, are hashtags still? People, I've seen three to four hashtags in the last year. Are hashtags still? Are hashtags still? They don't exist anymore. You would know. I still do them with Reckless Abandonment on our TikTok. So they still work? Well, it's just like our SEO for girls was so important because of the hashtag. No, I think hashtags are real. Okay, that's good to know. Especially for weddings. Because how are we going to find the photos? I do think that would be nice for your Instagram. I'm becoming bright, Zilla. But wait, so you have a different dress for every part of the night? I don't know. I have a dress for the ceremony. I'm remaking my mom's dress to either wear after that or maybe at the rehearsal dinner. Oh, my God. And then I have some other ideas. Can you get your library with that? Oh, my God. I need to see the pictures. Did you not see? She's so good at making wedding content. I know. It's amazing. I should go get caught up. I've never seen someone better at it. Eli Rallo? Have you seen her wedding content? No, but I love when she talks. Her wedding looks very beautiful. The most planned girl I've ever met in my whole life. Planned, yeah. That girl's awesome. Like in the most positive way. Like it's so cool to, I mean, she like she made, she made it into a herald, her wedding. Like there was a beginning, middle, end. It's the most amazing thing. I guess I'm seeing my wedding as something that like, oh, my God, I don't have to post about it. What a relief. No, more than that. Because the only, the girl who's been posting. From my high school, every single day. And she finally posted about her wedding content. And that's when she went viral. For a wedding? It was her wedding. But she posts every other day with the three to four likes. What is she posting about? Her hair care. But then she did her Jewish wedding with an Irish man. And then she went viral. Okay. Good to know. You could think about it. Good to know. It's crazy that you're doing wedding and big show right on top of each other. I know. You can never plan life. Well, have you combined the two? No. What about that? I don't know. I don't even want to do my own vows. Because I don't want it to feel like a show at all. Right. Because people are going to be like, well, they better crush. You should do MSG. I want the wedding to be like no. I want the wedding to be like no phones. Like everyone just like. No laughs. We can wear Stevie Nicks shirts. Yes. Do MSG. Okay. Okay. Okay. I will. I will. I will. Oh my God. You're perfect. Do Club Comet. I will. I will. I will. Yeah. What was I saying? That you need a social media manager for your wedding. Yeah. Oh, look how good Romeo's being, by the way. Wait. Okay. Do you want to talk about your state of life? No, he's fine. He's fine. He's fine. Yeah. No, I'm doing my show this summer. Please come. KatCohenBroadStrokes.com. You guys come to the Lortel. July 14th through September 5th. Lortel. Lucia Lortel. Ooh. The theater. Oh my God. It's amazing. And it's about how you had a stroke in your heart. It's about how I had a stroke because I was born with a hole in my heart and I didn't know. It's about what happens when a hypochondriac is right. They always are, by the way. No. No. So far. So far. Lena, look at her. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm just like, when women are hypochondriacs, it's for a reason. Okay. Respect. I like that. I do think that. True. I mean, they get scared about the wrong things, but right in the end. You're so used to the doctor being like, it's nothing. You're fine. That when something actually happens, they're like, oh yeah, it's actually a stroke. I was like, come again? So yeah, y'all come through this summer. I'll be here all summer with Romeo, just rocking out. In the West Village. Is it every night? It's every night. It's off Broadway. And yeah, then when that ends, I'll go back to wedding planning. Oh my God. That's so fun. That's like the most romantic year of your life. It's going to be fun. Yeah. I've locked in most of the big things about the wedding, but I have to do some of the smaller things. Are you going to brand your ice cubes? Oh my God. I haven't gotten there yet. You really should think about that. Is that what people remember? No, it isn't. They remember the small things. They barely care about the ceremony. I disagree. You should do. No, don't worry about the vows. Clearly. You're not. What's the best wedding you've ever been to? I've only ever been to my dad's marriage to my stepmom when she was eight months pregnant. That's so intense. With the, yeah, no worries. You don't have a single friend who's done it yet? No, I did a thing where when I left Texas, I left it for real. You never went back to a friend's wedding? Yeah. And my family moved to San Antonio. So like, I'm never back. I can't believe you have to go to San Antonio. It's crazy every time. Every time I land in that airport, there's a bunch of people. There's a bunch of like children going to war in their outfits. Like, it's like where the military things. and it's like all these girls in like leggings being forced to tuck in their like big t-shirts into their leggings because you have to tuck in your shirt to your pants and it's like they look so little and i get so upset and i'm like i wish we had health care through other methods for these teens wow it's really upsetting sorry to bring it up no that reminds me of the part in the episode where i did i forget what the line was but there is a line in the episode that crushes so hard at the wedding and it's like i can't wait to get 20 000 napkins with my name on it sometime and everybody freaks out i'm like it's so fun he kills the speech yeah can you imagine you work on a poem and your your boyfriend new to be boyfriend walks out in the middle to take a phone call for an hour to an hour and a half i'd be so pissed i would destroy what is his even job i know what is his job he of course you can only be in finance and act like that did you read strangers yeah of course i just finished it last night what do you think there's a lot it's just like i didn't know about hedge funds like that or like a woman feeling that loss manhattan yeah like unfortunately to quote a friend who i can't remember who told me this one of my friends read it and they said uh i was waiting for the record drop wait needle drop record scratch what am i trying to say yeah i was waiting because i was reading okay okay i was like but i was kind of waiting for like okay well it was building to something and then i was like what was it her accepting herself and finding her own strength well i agree like it was horrific being left out of nowhere but i just feel like the book kind of just like it did i needed more i spent the entire book being like it's gonna be that thing like when in gray's anatomy um the husband's acting so weird and they find out brain tumor that's making him act crazy so i kept being like it's gonna be brain tumor and then it was just like oh he's just over her yeah that would have been a better book yeah rewrite your story that way better because it was just like okay he's an asshole and i actually still don't know why and actually he sucks and there's no resolution well but he's like you can post your modern love story girl that was his big moment you're right well i'm happy for her of course of course she's amazing i liked what i heard i did i listened to that one i think and i devoured it for sure what does she read it yeah right yeah i think so i know gwyneth's playing her i hear she bought the rights with the tel aviv ad was that real truth i was like this has to be ai it looks ai and i think that's probably part of it i keep getting duped by ai it's so scary really you're getting tricked when my 30s i literally feel like when i look at social media now i'm like it's been fun i was like i used to have so much fun on here and now i actually want nothing to do with this wait what tricked you ai wise there's all these videos of like cute dogs or kids and my brother like that's ai and i'm like okay i'm not gonna do that i'm not gonna do that i'm not gonna do that i thought it was like a fun like a charming family video like the baby's dancing to the song and it's like well yeah i know those words like the dogs like like i know that's it i'm not like completely stupid but they're like just like a dog like a kid being like i didn't like they make a mess or something like it wasn't me and it's like it's ai i don't know there was some video yeah i know the little girl i was like this is so cute and i'm like that's ai i was like it's over i know but it's because they actually they're basing it off real life now it's getting way too close to home reese witherspoon says we need to embrace it a woman will get left behind fuck ai fuck ai except for or ring love you guys is this ai yeah in its way but what do you mean i don't know i mean it's it's been fun it's been fun i'm getting this i'm gonna wear this for like six months and then leave it in a drawer and i can't wait that's what i did get excited for your drawer mama when you stop charging it on the circle dock it feels good it feels good to be free in that way i love when it locks in it's so funny what is the ring no no it is like blasphemous to receive a beautiful engagement ring and then actually choose to wear this no but you separate it's separation of hands yeah church that's true what's been the best episode you've watched so far kind of all of them like they just keep it's banger after banger every episode of this rewatch i'm like fuck this show is good it's so good you know what i love is that they kind of stop doing as the seasons go on is the straight to cam confessionals from like strangers being like well i fell in love first sight at this thing i love those you like those or no they're so good yeah there's i'm like who are these actors the season which i always thought was a weird choice on their part wait it's in the middle of this season yeah that's halfway through this season oh i wonder why but i imagine like you're like a young actress in new york city and they're like all right we got you a job that's what i'm saying you're gonna talk for 10 seconds on sex in the city it's gonna change everything that'd be an amazing gig it's like suv yeah wait svu it's like suv it's suv oh my god i've never seen that you've never seen that it's not weird have you been on it do you ever do you ever think about the equivalent of that now is being on like a now this vertical how many now this verticals are there 12 or 11 12 or 11 or five i don't know how many because you know mine got canceled what was yours now this is gay wait why they cancel it um because well they never understood the gay voice the first episode we ever did we said and then they put um this they wrote out what the word sapphic meant and it was like an eight minute pause in the video it was beautiful like what was the setup for your show we kind of just asked people like what do you think is gay and they're like frying pans and we never actually kind of pitched that to them but they did take it and did it what they want with it okay which was great it's so good to be what's their biggest one are you okay are you okay oh yeah okay i did that one i did that one and it was shelved because i talked about how i murdered a shark no worries a shark please tell me more well my mom made us go deep sea fishing when i was in sixth grade and the boat had like we were stuck on this boat in the deep sea for eight hours and it had unlimited soda and i was like chucking back so many diet cokes and my mom like cut me off and was like amy you have to fish for at least 10 minutes until you can have another coke this is ridiculous your family calls you amy yeah 18 years amy reveal amy reveal do you call her amy no but every other friend chooses to amy amy i was amy and then when i went to college i was like i'm gonna be vegan so it's like it's actually even more special it's been my best friend's name is amy oh really so imagine imagine what i'm feeling right now imagine when i learned about amy puller i lost my damn mind right you go there's another amy yeah i said her book is gonna change everything today say yes and it did it did um so then you had too many diet cokes and then what happened so then i was like 10 minutes and i get a bite and i'm like oh my god this is heavy and the boat guys come over and they help me reel it in i pull it up it's a baby shark it's like three do do do do yeah literally what we talk about we talk about baby shark and it's like this big and it's flailing so you threw it back no so they hand me a baseball bat and they say hit it in the head hit it in the head you have to hit it in the head so i hit in the head it's stunned and then they make me take a i wish i had the photo it's like me like shaking with this boat man like holding it and me next to it like this is horrible i know that's why they shelved it what do they do with it so i thought they would throw it back because there's like a fish competition where whoever gets the heaviest fish like wins but you can't eat baby shark so it didn't even count still so it didn't even qualify so i think they just it's a chicken of sharks maybe they stunned it and then they threw it back in and they didn't tell me but i think about it constantly like pretty much every time i have wine that's really upsetting that's really upsetting but we've all caught a shark no what i've learned so far in my life is no one else has that is a really crazy story you know i have you caught a shark i just think they're like very accessible they're all around i caught a i caught a shark in cape cod and i lost my grandpa's fishing rod okay that makes me feel better okay but it's okay i can't relate to either of you in this moment but do you fish because you're having a wedding so let us have this oh please it's only fair do i fish um i went fly fishing with my family during um when was that i don't know one summer love it was horrible i hated it my mom caught like 13 fish and no one else my family caught a single one that's like explains everything you're like by the way she is that symbolism she's that fucking girl over a keeper she's in the picture she's like and i'm in the background just like swatting mosquitoes she didn't let you hold one fish oh she would have i didn't want to be part of it she's so sincere she's so sincere when sincere is like if you catch two fish why can i have two oh my god sincere i mean it's just like i love the world because the universe gave us a contestant on love island named sincere and he's the most insincere person we've had yet no i don't think he is i think you know i'm really scared of his corbin yeah but he's sex forward he's like what do you guys think i know but he's 22 with a lot of money i don't know if he's going to be able to make it i don't know if he's going to make it business in mind i know you guys i do business i do business okay great but why are they all from georgia or miami they must i think people from there are good i think they're good at being themselves in miami or georgia yeah like i feel like people from there are like this is me in a way where people from other states are more bendable or more performative grow up sooner we should get carried away let's get carried away well don't be a bitch i'm not being a bitch i'm not being a bitch i'm not being a bitch i'm not being a bitch i'm not being a bitch i'm done braids into a headband lately and i actually want two fat braids for summer and it should not be a lazy look not to be a day four look a day one look be in the braids i think it's actually really chic for it to look loose and bad from the back and have like loose strands because of layers like we need to embrace we need to see more of it people are the slip back is over the like the pony is over the bun pisses me off it's all what an amazing conclusion it pisses me off because i don't even know what it meant well i used to wear my hair in two braids every day of elementary school and i had long long hair and everybody said i look like the girls from little house on the prairie and then in third grade i got a bob and everyone treated me worse forever oh my god so by getting back to the braids forever even to this day and that's why you invited to a wedding oh no what a crazy domino effect i know your laugh was our first step down the aisle no do you do braid ever no it reminds me of summer camp like my frizzy hair like oh yeah the braids are coming back but you have playful braids um you know what i did i had um a crazy braided ponytail for a role once that i really liked oh that's huge think about that huh i did let that soak in um the ethics of sincerity is it poem a genuine expression of hope or a desperate attempt to manifest a reality biggest unwillingness to provide huh i wonder oh i'm done wondering it's um it's insincere because i well and i can't believe you would do a haiku in order to wish happiness upon a family you barely even know about and for that to happen it's like object terror to watch your soon-to-be well soon-to-be boyfriend it seems like to walk out of the room and to deliver sincerity when you don't even mean it yourself sincere would never even find himself in that situation is something awful to think was that you're carried away yeah and again it's some of these episodes getting carried away from us too i'm getting carried away with the motherhood i'm carried away with my new baby romeo i'm carried away i'm are you kidding me the way he looked at you just now i'm carried away with just like my big selfless heart i'm carried away with having a blonde dog he's so lucky and beautiful i could be human mom yeah it's making me be like i should get pregolinta oh i know that'd be a twist that is
