Sex and the City S2E17: “Twenty-Something Girls vs. Thirty-Something Women” with XKYLAR

The podcast dives into Season 2, Episode 17 of *Sex in the City*, focusing on the generational divide between 20-somethings and 30-somethings. The episode centers on a group of friends who go to the Hamptons, a setting that symbolizes freedom and escape from urban life. Through their interactions, the hosts explore contrasting mindsets: 20-somethings are shown as bold, career-focused, and emotionally immature, while 30-somethings appear more grounded, aware, and emotionally mature. Key moments include Carrie’s encounter with a doctor, where the hosts analyze the awkwardness and miscommunication around medical topics, and the revelation that one of the 20-somethings, Laurel Harris, is a virgin, highlighting the show’s portrayal of sexual norms in the 1990s. The episode also touches on cultural shifts in dating, body image, and self-expression, with references to fashion, party dynamics, and the rise of crabs as a sexual health topic. The hosts reflect on how the show mirrors real-life generational tensions, particularly around dating, validation, and self-worth. They note how younger women often seek mentorship or approval from older generations, while older women recognize the value in youthful energy and authenticity. Ultimately, the episode is celebrated as a landmark moment in *Sex in the City* history, offering a nuanced look at evolving female identity, friendship, and intimacy across age groups.

- I love the way she talks to the doctor. - When you come to the beach, look for the one yellow umbrella. - That is crazy baby girl. - That's what I would do if I won someone to never find me. - Yeah. (upbeat music) - Welcome back to Girls Rewatch. - A podcast about girls. - TV and girls on TV. - I'm Amelia Retoller. - I'm Evan Lazarus. - And oh my God, we're still in LA. We're live life, loving our lives. - We'll never leave. - We'll never leave. - Covering season two episode 17, 20 something girls versus 30 something girls. And joining us in the studio today, the best guests of the pod. This girl, we've talked about her so much on the pod before because she lets us crash at her house when we get to come to visit. Please freak out right now. First Skylar. - Oh my God, welcome. - Welcome. - Thank you. - Wow, we're working in unison. - It's so beautiful. - You're so beautiful. - You should have been, you should have heard our early days. It was not so good, not so good. - Hey guys, I loved it. - Oh my God, thank you so much for being on the pod. - Thanks for having me. - You really are in Carrier era with this hair. - Thank you. - It's the most Carrier hair we've had. - Really? I feel like it was my inspo. So Evan, I was watching this season. I was like, this is the hair I want. - Well, I feel like I'm working towards it. - No, I know. I want Carrier season two hair. But I feel like I need to grow. I need to have some depth. It's fine. - I know. Yeah, what's your vision for your hair lengthwise? - I mean, I just had to cut it all off because when I made it blonde, I just fried it. So I was like, (laughing) - Right, what would you say? - People are like, at least it's Carrie Bradshaw. - But you thought your hair colored and your mom's stylist said, oh no. - Yeah. My mom's stylist was like on the phone with her and she was getting her hair done. And she was like, look at this hair and he goes, no, no, no. (laughing) You need to come in immediately. He's like, foreign, I don't even know where he's from. But I came in the next day and he fixed my hair and it was so much better. - Thank God. - But I needed depth. I wanted the, yeah, I wanted the Carrie Bradshaw look. But I will say the shortness, it's still Carrie. But it's not like the season two character. - Right. It's a different season. - My mom's stylist will come over and sometimes my brother's highlights. My mom's hair size will give my brother a balayage. It's so fun. I'm the deck of our courthouse. - Wait, that's so fun. (laughing) - His name's Ronnie. Has a Chihuahua that absolutely hates me. - She brings his dog. - Wait, when he's doing, he comes to your house to do your wheelchair. - My mom's hair. - It's so nice. - It's so nice. - Well, 'cause he built this business independently during COVID, he said, I'm finally leaving the salon and now he goes to Client House. - Well, you know what, that's actually on the rise 'cause people are tired of the bullshit of paying for a chair. - Yeah. - Like out of place and that does make sense. - Yeah. - 'Cause that's what it is. You pay for a chair. You pay rent on a chair in a salon. - Literally. - My step mom. - You can't do balayage like that inside a salon. - What even is a balayage though? - I'm like, what is that? - It's a French technique. - It's ombre, but it's different, right? - I don't know. - Is it feathering the hair of the technique? - Is it feathering process? - Well, that's the direct translation from French to it's feathering the hair. - Did you ever have a feather in your hair back in the day? - She girl, you know it. (laughs) - I would feather myself. - You know how to do it. - I knew how to do it. I would look it up and I would do it all the time. I would do a different one every day. - Oh my God. - I would go home. You just take pli, it's so easy. - I know, but I was like begging my mom to take me to the hairdresser so they could click it in. - No, I would click that shit in. And then like you just take pliers and you like would apply the like feather down in between the like this metal thing you would put. - Oh my God. - I would do it all the time. Girl. - You had one feathering color every outfit. - Yeah, I just would get like different ones that would make my mom take me to Michael and then we would like get a bunch of different feathers. - Yeah. - The best ones were the thin ones that were like would go along with your hair. Do you think that's gonna come back? I don't think so. - It's a little coming back, so yeah. - Every week, every week me, my dear friends were debating if feathers or tinsels are gonna come back. - It's like, is this segment of the pot is tinsel or feather, right? - Well, it doesn't even matter 'cause I think we have to, we have to carve on our own lanes. And if feathers are gonna help you do that, then fly away. - We do. - You know. - We are so excited to talk sex in the city with you. - This episode is one of the most important episodes in the history of history. Not the history of sex in the city, but the history of history. - It's our first bottle up of sex in the city. - Kind of first bottle up, it is kind of-- - What do you mean bottle up? - It's like an individual episode. - It's a standalone, like it's almost its own film. - Yeah, yeah. Like it's its own little world. - Oh, I guess it maybe is not even a bottle up really. - But when we stay at your house, it's basically Hampton's house. So you're the perfect guest for this episode. - Like you. - You live right on the beach. - Imagine. - It's exactly like the Hampton's. - It's an echo park, it's right next to the beach. - The highway sounds like the ocean. - That makes sense. - Hey, yeah. - You know what, it's fine. It's your Hampton's house. - When I didn't get it, when I got rejected, ED1 from BU, I remember on the tour, they're like, so this is called BU Beach. We call it the Beach because you close your eyes. It's underneath the highway and it's like, "This is the ocean." - This is awesome. - And can you imagine I got rejected from ED1 from BU because my grandmother went there and she graduated the same year as Martin Luther King. - And the acronyms, you're spitting out right now. - When you said ED, I'm just like, "Girl, that's not what my brain is." - Yes. - Let's just say, you're anorexia, what's it in pageant? - She lives under so many different EDs in this world. - Too many. - All right, God, let's function. - Ed. - I said ED to my dad the other day. And he was like, "What the fuck is ED?" Can I curse on you? - Yeah. - Oh, period. Okay, good. Oh, stress. No, I'm so excited about this episode. It's literally my favorite sex on the city episode. When you said season two, episode 17, and I looked it up and I was like, "Oh, thank God." - We said 16, and he said, "No, where do we set my date?" "No, you didn't." - It was just an episode that I was like, "I don't even really need to rewatch this to know what it's all about." - But I rewatched it anyway. - Oh, quick summary for listeners at home. Basically, what happens is you know, and I'm Jimmy Fallon during Christmas, how we'll get all the celebrities to like, Acapelo, sing a song. Or like, what was it where we canceled Gallaguedo for they sang like, "We are the world." - I guess. - And it's like that. So the episode starts with like six people in their little boxes. And it's like a cold, open explaining like why Charlottes Friend is renting out our Hampton House for the month of August. - I really love that sequence. - Yeah, it was just so fucking gorgeous. - It kind of felt like the Brady Buns. - I can say it's Brady Buns coated. - It was so fun, but basically, there was like- - It was for the podcast like that. It's just like three-headed boxes. - There was infidelity, there was crushes that weren't reciprocated. There was somebody talking about finance too much. - Can I say that story exactly patterned the my neighbor's growing up? - Really? - All my neighbor. - One for one. - One for one. - Well, and it's always affecting people's like at home options. - Ultimately, Charlottes like ladies, we've got to go to the Hamtons. And Miranda's like, "Don't you think we're too old to share a house together? We're in our thirties." And then Charlottes like, one of us could be married next year. This is our last summer. - It's so much hope in her eyes, so much. - And then Kerry's like, "Yeah, fuck it. Let's get out of the city." And Samantha's like, "Ooh, the Hamtons. Let me get my weekend there." So they all agree to go. - Charlottes? - It's the easiest to run of all time. - No, yeah, so imagine convincing your friends that easily to go to the Hamtons. - That would be insane. - Yeah, I think about how many group chats don't make it out of the group job. - You're so like- - I see a fucking Hamtons about thirties. Can you not answer that, Charlottes? - And then Charlottes gets one, like, one puppy eye look. And I go, "I guess we can all get out." - We could all be married next year. I'm like, that's also insane. Like, how would anyone be married within a year? - Shotgun. - I'm like, that's my job. - Shotgun. - All of them are single right now. - Yeah, I'm like, that's crazy. - I'm planning to get married in the next year. (laughing) - It is like- - Not one prospect in the market. - I do feel like a lot of prospect is crazy to be like, one of us could be married. - I do think it's fun. It's like, it does make me think of like millennials today and, like, so obviously I wanna have my first kid at 38, which means that I need to get married at least at 37 by the latest, which means I need to get engaged at 36. And I need to be dating them for probably two or three years before that, which brings us to 33. I'm 34, what the fuck am I going to do? - What's that scene? - That's a scene in "Friends," I think. - Is it? - Yeah, where she, like, does the countdown and then she breaks up with someone because she's, like, this is clearly not the person I should be dating. - It's from us. - Yeah. - It's Alson Bruthapina, it's at the bar being like, so there's only one man in all of New York City for me. Do you know this scene from, like, "Friends with Benefits?" - Right, isn't there some-- - It's like the chopping-- - Yeah, it's like chopping the penis. - Is it gonna be how to be single, starring Rebel Wilson? I'll never forget that film. I watched it on the plane, but-- - I watched it on the plane and you know how you don't have headphones, you have wireless headphones, you can't plug it. - Yeah, yeah, yeah. - I watched it silent on the plane and it's full. - It's crazy. - No sub-coptions, no-coptions. - I had the captions on. I got it. - So you can relapse. - Wow. She's a really bad lip-reading. - I fucking love you. - Yeah. - I was trying to never think that, which is kind of interesting. She's never like-- - A lip-reader? - No, she's a girl. (laughing) - No, I'm just like, she has so much optimism. Like, she's never like, I need to be-- I mean, she has like, I need to be married by now, but she still has like, optimism. - She has so much optimism. - She's not giving like a countdown, 'cause I'm like, damn, girl. - But she is existing in a false reality, 'cause I'm like, based on the data you're collecting, girl. - She should be that awful. - She's 27. - Oh yeah, in this episode, she's 27. - So how old is she actually? - She's 32, 33. - So she's lying five years, but it's a big five years. - These episodes will mark, 'cause you're like, so yeah, so there's six months that passed between the four scene and the A scene, but we are still in the same season. - Right, well, you know what, so interesting. interesting as I've seen this episode multiple times, but this is the first time that I realized weeks were going on. So they were doing the work week and then they were going back for the weekend. Yeah. So they're at the Hampton's the first weekend and then they go back the second weekend and then that's when big shows. Oh, I did not understand that. It's something that is drivable, accessible. Yeah. I mean, a big culture around it. Well, does it call the Jimmy stay like while they do or they all go back during the week? Well, the Hampton shares you do have it in a week, but if you have a nine to five, the whole point that traditionally the point the Hamtons was that you and your friends could reasonably like get a place to split. Yeah. For the summer, like you all just put some money in and even even here they're like, 18 people to a house, but that used to be such a thing where you could get a house share. House shares first of all really died. It's only for gay guys in Fire Island. Do people do this anymore? House shares that kind of died. It's mainly for gay guys. Really? It's just all the only place I ever see get people doing house shares are like for sick. You're like, and it's funny. The weeks work. So it's like you get the week of Christmas Thanksgiving, then Memorial Day July 4th. And then we run it out with all the way. Well, you know what? It's because like Airbnb came and kind of stole the market. Yeah. Yeah. People used to go get like a time share in Florida. Like that used to be such a thing. Like if you were working and like tech or something, like you want a couple of people would like have a time share. But now people are like, I'll just run an Airbnb or whatever. It's so expensive. Do your friends go to the Hamptons? Like do people go to the Hamptons still or no? Like do our friends enter? I have like my friends from high school will go to the Hamptons. Have you been to the Hamptons ever? No. No. Well, you're West Coast. Yeah. I'm like, I family in New York and they go to the Hamptons, but I just like wonder like, okay, if I lived in New York, what I'd be going to the Hamptons all the time. Like I idealize sex in the city in a way because I'm like, oh my God, it would be so chic to get a house in the Hamptons with my friends. But if I lived in New York, what actually they make it look so nice in this show. We're like community parties. You're having so much fun. Yeah. This is like where Justin Bieber gets texts. Right? Everybody gets live disease in the Hamptons. That's so funny. It's huge right now. Really? People are always like wire celebrities. Always getting lupus. And it's like because they all go to the Hamptons. Well, I say I'm regaining a tech talk. I saw once in the middle of the night. You're like lupus and yeah, you see one tick talk and you're like, I believe this. Well, have you ever met a person that's not rich with lupus? I haven't. No. I haven't met someone with lupus. I can't say. Yeah. So yeah. Yeah. I've only heard of it. But a lot of rich people wait a second. I would say nobody in our age group is ever speaking on the Hamptons because I think it's now gotten more expensive. Like to me, the Hamptons are something they talk about in real housewives. Okay. That's that. People. It's an income thing. It's an alert part of the class ward. It's coming. Devils wears prodded to Anne Hathaway gets invited to the Hamptons because she does a good job. So Merle sheep is like, you can come. Oh, yeah. Okay. But maybe now the Hamptons is I wonder how it was like when they're filming this episode. Yeah. It was probably more accessible. I think yeah. The whole point is even Montalk Woods during this time was still a fishing town. Whoa. And now it's a place to like you're going to get clowned and fished. Reese Witherspoon movie would happen there now. Right. Yeah. Well, they had a Jennifer Lawrence movie that happens there. Oh, where she fucks the kid. Yeah. It's a problem. It's also sure that's such a weird. Did you see that movie? It's very good. No. Really? Yeah. The one where she's like 32 and this. She is tired by the parents or something. Yeah. I haven't laughed more in an AMC. Really? Really? My life and the night I saw that. What? I know. He was good. Well, it was also like we hadn't seen Jennifer Lawrence in a couple years because she went and had kids and stuff. Yeah. And it was her first movie back. And like her PR team was like, we're going to remind the nation how fucking hot and beautiful you are. It's funny. And like, yeah. And like a character actress who can do a comedy because you know, it's just like a few actresses. I could believe could do like a modern section of the city today. Only believable. She's the only one doing the best. I don't think sex in those cities like a funny show though. Oh, he's very just talking about this. Is it a comedy? Is it a drama? It's a comedy. It's categorized as a comedy. I think it's like lighthearted, but I feel like I'm not like laughing. I'm laughing my fucking. I'm sometimes like laughing, but not really. When are you laughing? Like what? It's like, by the way, the biggest comedy out right now is hacks. That doesn't make me laugh. It makes me cry. Really? I feel like I'm laughing during hacks like outwardly. I mean, it is funny for sure, but I'm mainly emotionally impacted. There's so many funny scenes in this whole thing. We're like, well, I'd not to see my happen. There's a point where Carrie meets the doctor at the book launch party. Yeah. Miranda goes, Oh, is that the doctor about the book launch party? And then Samantha sees and goes, Oh, God, I got to read more. Yeah. That crap. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Let's get into the episode chronologically. So they all decided to go to the house. They're like you. It smells like mildew. And then Carrie's like, no, it smells like the beach. And then Charlotte is like, so I'm going to date a 27 year old because fuck it. I'm in the hands. He's hot. He's really hot. So hot. He's like distractingly hot. Yeah. Well, the first line of them in the house, Samantha goes, I thought they said, shabby sheet, not shabby shitty. Then, and then I have a sequence where Charlotte is being like, everyone's being so cynical here. And it's like, Carrie's like one thing we have over 20 somethings that we're cynical. Yeah. And Miranda goes, I've been cynical since high school. I was innocent. So then you know, we do get introduced to the 20 somethings. So what we get introduced to Samantha's PR girl assistant, Nina, who's fucking crazy. You know what fucking lullab sex into city? No, that's a freak out of the show. No, the way she's acting. I'm like, you need to go to the mail or my ETA and learn a thing or two. No, she's fucking Kelly. It's so funny watching that girl operate. She's so funny, but I'm like, wow, the lack of respect. I'm like, if Samantha was standing right there, I'd be so scared. Yeah. They got to make a fire in her. Yeah. They got. But she's in fire by Christmas. Yeah, which is psychotic, which is should be illegal. Yeah, should she see some of these girls in PR though. They are like, absolutely like that. That's how you make it. I feel like PR girls aren't like that. No, it's a binary with the PR girl. Some of them are like very like quiet. Yeah, that's what the PR girls. It depends if they're working in consumer patch goods or the PR girls. Because we're just good. They are the something like continuous girls alive. I mean, some of us still can deal with her little headpiece. Yeah. That was she. We don't have this anymore. We don't have that anymore. We got to bring up our pop star thing. No, it's around. No, I'm never. No, like a Bluetooth speaker. Like, it's so fun. What if we all just like walked around with that like a pop star mic? Well, it is like our air like our our beats could easily do it. Like, but we think it's not cool. We don't allow it. Yeah, it's so good. We think it's on shitty inside. I had a pair but it was stolen out of the gay bar. Really? Yeah. Now, what's the girl? So then you know, being when they we first introduced her just you don't have to show respect for your job. She goes, I have my career to think about. It's like, I am your career. I am your job. Literally. We really, I think our generation is so we are so much. Our generation is so these people, these 20 or something. In a way that I don't feel like 20 somethings were that in that moment. But maybe it's because New York. Well, I just think it's funny the way that like older people talk about younger people all the time. Like, it's just like, he's people are ungrateful. Like, it's the same way I feel like people talk about our generation. Well, there's about diversity that brings people to New York City in their early 20s to go to college there. That can, it's either like you were either born in New York City or you have even worse the audacity of an MIU student. Yeah. And those you lose all social decorum as a MIU student. You, you'll ask for unlimited favors. You will walk yourself into any room within a sense of entitlement. The things young women have asked me for and I'm like, I can't deliver. That's crazy. Yeah. Why do you think they're in like, in Glee? They are like hellbent and going to NYU. I know. Or some of them. It's funny because right now I have an intern who goes to NYU and she's 19. She's so sweet. She's so sweet. But she's a go getter. She's a go getter. But she's also very like timid and like very just nice. But I had to show her how to burn a CD. And like, she didn't know that the CD side was the shiny side is where it like the music is. So I was making her spray paint these CDs and she's CD like spray painted the mat or like the shiny side. And I was like gross. She literally put the CD in the CD player the wrong way. And I was like, oh my god, this bitch has never seen a CD. I'm jealous. I wish I never seen a CD. That would really make me want to take a day to just sit with myself. I was like, I can't even imagine. That's my physical media. It's dad. Because you're spray painting stars on the wrong side. No, literally. I was like, I just want a star on the normal side where you like right when you're making a playlist for someone. You know what I mean? I'm like, wow, kids today. Kids fucking too much. But I love it. And then we need Carrie's little 20 something girlie pop. What is her name? Her name is Lauren. Laurel Harris. Laurel Harris. I'm like, that's the name of her retirement community. Laurel is the canyon. Laurel to the canyon. Yeah, Canyon. Yeah, I think I'm like, my great aunt lives at Laurel. Her all. She is such a bad vibe. I can't stand her. I love her. She's like, Carrie, I would die for you. I would fucking die for you. By the way, I'm a virgin. No, that's the craziest part to me. I'm like, why are you so obsessed with her? Why do you like the column? That was never answered. Do you know what I mean? Like, I just want to know the thing is everyone, apparently everyone in the country likes to call them or at least New York. I didn't want to get into New York. Maybe young girl is just like, oh, an older independent woman, like living a city life. I have to know. I will say Okay, 20-somethings or some young 20-somethings are on the bill of their pulse. At times they always know like small independent artists and no one has ever heard of because they have Time on their hands because they're pursuing a four-year degree which cannot fill up a whole day if you don't have a job Yeah, the way Laurel Harris is me I've been Laurel Harris though We've all been Laurel Harris I feel like I haven't met someone and been like I love me We have millions of Laurel Harris's are the biggest When Abby Jacobs of her audience, it's just Laurel Harris. When Abby Jacobson was on the pod I was being Laurel Harris at her and she was being carrier. She's like, hey babe You got so much life left to live Can you imagine meeting someone at a bonfire and people are throwing up around you? You're drinking shitty beer and your heroes there. Yeah, imagine being tipsy and seeing like your favorite girl Just had to be just slaying I like at the same time. Yeah, that would be kind of crazy. A bonfire makes people do crazy things A bonfire does. Yeah, I grew up with bonfires. I've seen the last song Well, I never forget them. In couples therapy, the guy who's dating two women burnt down the house at a bonfire Burnt down a city because of a bonfire. That's crazy That's where man met a target fire but woman knew how to run with that That's alive from an earlier episode Men may have discovered fire but women learned how to play with it. That's crazy That's like a bar. Yeah, she's a bar. Also a neatly going up to carry me like She's like well, you remember one of my pieces and she goes yeah, maybe she's just oh my god I mean so much for someone like you to be my mentor. It's like whoa, that was crazy The audacity's insane. I wish someone would tell me yeah when I was younger Maybe I was doing too much. I was an intern for this girl that I was obsessed with and it's like she fired me because I was crazy Really? Yeah, you're just like obsessed with her. Yeah, because I was just like I want to be you and I grow up and she's like Stacey McGonagall. She was like a failed improv comedian I wish I could have never done that when I was younger. I know. I don't think I've ever done I think I've actually I was at a coffee shop and I went up to my favorite creative director because I was obsessed with her When I was like really young but I just went up to her and I was like if you ever need help working I like didn't even really I wasn't crazy about it I'm also like a creative director never gets recognized so I'm like she probably felt stupid about that I know I would be stoked I get so excited whenever I say well when a girl DMs and is like can I be your intern? I'm like for what? Thank you I know I was like I'm like wanting to be more like I mean I don't like I gotta start a project You know they're like I'll help you with anything and I'm like can you do my day job for me? That's so But I can like anytime I've had someone work for me or be an intern or like anything They like underplay how cool they think I am you know what I mean I know they always play it cool like they always play it cool So I'm out here being like do you even know who I am? Like or well, this is I'm out here being like why aren't you Fangirling more this is the problem is they want to play it cool and then it's like oh they hate me and think I'm a loser That's why why would they be working for me or wanting to be around me if they thought I was a loser But they're like trying to play it cool because they're like obviously she knows I'm addicted to her I gotta play it so cool, but then they don't think we're insecure. I know they don't think that we want their validation Do you ever like meet a celebrity or something like that? And then you're like you have to play it so fucking cool But then you're like oh, I should just pretend they want you to not play it cool. I know they actually want you to gas them up Like we had Gillian Jacob's on the potty ago It's I don't know what the right thing to do Yeah, that's what it's case per case. It's case per case. Well, I act chill, but I also I think you give I always give acknowledgement Yeah later in the conversation, but I never immediately go forward with that I've had so many people follow me that then I have to go through our messages like old dns and be like Oh my god, so embarrassing years ago sent you like a message being like I'm so inspired by you That's happened to me so many times. It's awful. Thank God you can un-send on Instagram. So humiliating Has someone seen it jibuki young white oh Megan stalter oh Aber it's just when you're like really young. You're just like I want them to know I was 21 during covid in LA I had no friends and I didn't know what being an adult was they were like Inspiration. Yeah, I'm living my life now because of them. They exactly Anyways, we've totally lost the sauce. We're losing the sauce. Let's cut back in or why don't we cut to our first break and when you get back We're gonna really dive into the 20 something 30 something dichotomy And we're back from the break. So they're at the bonfire There's cheap beer Carrier's like I haven't done that with a keg in years Miranda's like fuck this. I don't want to be your own tweens Charlotte's like You're so funny. I'm 27 guys be cool be cool be cool And then they all call it a night, right? I think so it's kind of not like yeah in a way so they do go home and they call it a night and then Miranda wakes up in a morgue she was who'd have all threw up outside the door Yes, then Charlie comes off the coaches Stacy and Laura got into the yellow shots and we had a crazy night and then the guy who had to pull up from there Well, and she goes what are you 25? She goes 27 I'm like wink wink wink because then he pulls up and Miranda's like I'm gonna go get a coffee got Miranda is so Negative I know Really? She's the only real girl we have that is so funny. I watch her and I'm like girl Just laying up right and I mean she does miles. She has a long background You would find a 25 year old dog up with like I don't know I do lift I Charlotte being so carefree and she just she's being 27 before we get like that Bay part of long vacation is you it's a people you meet on vacations like whatever you want it to be right No, we're back home in Manhattan for the work week, right? We come back. We have carry an amazing any any being dressed which actually own this exact dress He's wearing when she's talking about the comparison of 20 somethings for 30 somethings. I don't fit into it I just have it where my archive is this it's in some poster that like one of the gay guys in your improv trip is wearing it Is that true? No, it's my mom's old dress. They none of my mom's no one is the same size of my mom in the 90s Wow, right. One of my gay improv two foot four So she's going to some kind of book event Mind you her and big Her and big broke up because he went to fucking Paris. Yeah fuck Um, I love a book event though. It's like it's it's so good. I'm glad they sell a budget back then for raw bar Yeah, so fancy. Can you imagine bringing your I don't think I've ever been a book event You never do the book launch. That sounds so fun. I don't think I've been to a book so cheap. Well, they're not cheap anymore They're always like at a coffee shop and big guys like well, you know half one coffee on me, but that's it. Okay And then you're kind of standing there and then you have to buy a book for $30 and that's mostly that that That's crazy That's still kind of Yeah, well, they had like fans to our doors back then all that they look gross like those little crockers You know a doors are safer Hulu shows these days like a Mindy can't he doesn't have our fingers and probably a good girl You're not gonna am any hot dog. Laurel Harris is trailing carry and what I noticed is they both grab our doors And then Laurel immediately puts hers on a thing because she's not gonna eat it and carry still holding hers and being like Yeah, girl like would love you know what give me a call okay Well the decorma not eating it a party because I think maybe before it was like the nice idea of taking the food Maybe not even eating it. Yeah, but I feel like carry like wanted it I think she was just doing it Laurel was just doing it because she wanted to be like carry Yeah, yeah, but no, but that's when she reveals that she's a virgin Right, she says I'm waiting for marriage. Yeah, she says I'm waiting for marriage But then carries all confused she's like wait, what do you what do you describe as sex essentially? Yeah, and she's like Yeah, I don't do oral either. Yeah, so lame. It's so Gen.D today really oh my god, I'm like that's so lame It's 1999 and the girls aren't fucking anymore Girls aren't fucking 1999 Actually a call out to me like the show is so damn important because to the 20th of us are fucking no one's having sex He's Samantha. Yeah, it needs to be more blow jobs. Also, I'm like by the way every other 20 something in the show is fucking is this is what it's one red Head. Yeah, I just think it's her. Yeah, this girl so like career obsessed. She's like made her self-asexual Which we all know we fall so close we fall Laurel Harris. It's crazy That's so nuts. All of Carrie has a meek you with the ugliest doctor I've ever seen my leg. Oh my god. Funny Ashley Ray She's one of the best tweets about this guy where she goes everyone in here You're always talking about the hottest guy named Fox ruining New York City and then it's a photo of this guy And it's so funny. Bradley me go is his name. Which is like doctor me go. I'm a Carrie Find someone cute find something like Charlotte's little 20 something bad literally and then the girl is all like Oh my god, did you really just meet someone in the wild? How do you do it? It's like Yeah, she's like yeah, I just tacked her you're like he's also not cute. So it's like nothing It's not impressive. We are up this season to episode 16 and no one stated a person to color yet Really? That is crazy. That is actually wow on this far. Oh, that is absolutely insane But you know what when lean to done. I'm dead every got pissed. Well, it's a two shit. Yeah, it's true. I'll cover the fuck out of there Um, because they gave him a black Republican. The thing that cracks me up about the meek you with the doctor is that his opening Florida line was him breaking HIPAA twice. I was just about to say that I was like, did he not break HIPAA like is that not? Did they not have before sex in the city or did it come after? I think HIPAA and maybe HIPAA was made because of sex in the city. They're like, that's not cool. No, I think HIPAA was always around. He's like, here's two facts about my patients. Yeah, literally. And Carrie doesn't find it charming. She's just confused. I'm like, you did not need to do all about it. Maybe they made HIPAA because of this episode. They're like, doctors should not just be tying. I thought he was going to offer her a lift to the Hamptons, but he's like, I'll see you there. And she's like, for sure, for sure, for sure. Well, she gives her, well, she has to move to the next day. Well, he was leaving that thing. Her like, clearly Carrie is not a day before packer. That girl's packing the moment before she's finished. Right. That girl was throwing, I mean, based off of her offices episode, which I love, but it's like, that is because that girl tried her best last night. That is so fun. Now, why is this episode? She's some of the most iconic episodes. She has. So, why is the bus to the Hamptons called the Jitney? What is J have to do with it? I know this is the Moran girl. The Jitney, the Hamptons, Jitney. The Jitney is, Jitney's are stone walls at beaches. The effect current. So it's just a namesake of something on a beach. Oh, I've never heard that vote count for you there. Oh, really? No. The Jitney, Jitney. Jitney. Like, you know, when there's a rock wall in the ocean, that's a Jitney. Oh. I had no idea. I thought it was a rock wall. That's what I wanted. I wanted my daughter, Jitney. That's horrible. But she would make an amazing love Islander. She would. She would make a splash. Jitney would make a splash. Wait, that's really good. Yeah. Yeah. My daughter, Jitney, is about to make a splash. Jitney? I love that. Okay. So now we're back at the knees. Oh, that's a jitney. I just described. It does confuse a jitney with a Jitney. Oh. So I know what the fuck. I think a Jitney is a boat. I actually, it's Jitney is a kind of boat. It's like a Hampton's Jitney is like a boat. It's almost like a fairy boat. Yeah. Right. Listen, I don't know either. You know what? It's not. That's fine. If you know about it, tell us. Tell us. But we're back at the beach, right? And the 30-somethings are hiding the shade they've heard about Korean sign care. Well, I love her. I love the way she talks to the doctor. He goes, so I can call you up sometimes. She goes, I'll do you one better. So when you come to the beach, look for the one yellow umbrella. That is crazy. That's what I would do if I won someone to never find me. Yeah. That's why you know this was pretty cell phones too, because like people actually committed to plans like that. They're walking around the beach. They also, they know they're going to be at that beach with the yellow umbrella at that time, where it's like, I don't think I've ever planned that far ahead of my life. Also, Hampton's beaches are gargantuan. Really? Yeah, because the whole island is a beach. I mean, they're specific entrances. Not a poor doctor. But I'm like, he was searching all day. Yeah. He's doing a marathon on the beach. Then he had to go into the water, because he was like, I'm dead from just walking around the beach. I think I had a situation like this, because when you go to Central Park there's no service on your phone, because there's so many people there. So you have to be like, so look for the panda, I'm a towel, and then it's two girls. They're redheads, and one person has lunch and you're like, that's a whole city and sheaps out of bed. That's crazy. That's crazy. That's pretty funny. 45 minutes to be like, Shreya. Shreya. Shreya. Where are you? The idea that Central Park is a dead zone. That is actually crazy. I have no idea. Safety issue. No, they want you to. I'm playing. It's like a Wi-Fi cafe that turns it off on the weekend. And by the time you find a person you're like, well, we have to go home now. No. There is. There's like, oh my God. I love the voice over of the 20-somethings tanning is like, they're sizzling on the sand, like, artillery chickens. I'm like, that sounds nice. Yeah, I'm like, I want to get on the beach. I know. Well, we're in a no-tan culture right now. I know. We're in this free-tan culture. But no one's going out directly to the side. Because people are afraid of aging. I mean, even though my three days in LA, I'm like, well, this is not going to work. I've never got these years back. I've lost. Oh my God. I saw. What is sunscreen? Okay. So what is everybody? What is every girl doing here? Because when I put on sunscreen, it looks like my face is melting for the rest of the day. But I don't know. You have to go to a sunscreen. It's like, I thought it's meant to. It was $32. Girl, you got to get that goop sunscreen, the unseen sunscreen. The more expensive. Or like a, yeah, you have to be spending $50 on sunscreen. I have done the unscreening and I thought it looked ridiculous. It's so funny. Really? It feels so good. I mean, I feel like I have so many different sunscreens that I've tried. I like that. I just like, really nice one. That one I think makes me itch. Well, you know, and you know, I spent the morning dealing with my, I have something dermatitis. Okay. I'm actually going to talk about this because I think it's good for women to hear. So basically since landing in LA, I've been suffering from something called suboric dermatitis. And so I went to CVS this morning, actually, the CVS where I got my initial COVID vaccine. So it's kind of a walk down memory lane. They're like, girl, we never got you for the second month. We never got your booster. But I had to get Dan Drift Shampoo that I just left on my temples because that's where I was breaking out at my forehead and I did not wash my hair because I just got it done. And I just let it soak for five minutes to help get rid of the fungi growing on my face. You, I'm going to kill myself. Wait, what? And then I bought like hydrochordazone drops for anti-age. And that's what I've been dealing with today. I see. That's like amazing, though. I'm proud. Why did you know that? I broke hip-hop myself. You know what? I'm going to break hip-hop and girls' relapse podcast because I want girls to know like if you have suboric dermatitis, you can't get through it with today or no. She's hip with hip-hop. Uh-oh. She is hip-hop with hip-hop. Oh, ever. A doctor with, to me, I know he's like shirt on, he wasn't so hot, but shirt off, I was like, oh. No, I didn't like his chest hair. I thought it was fun. Wait, you liked him shirt off? I feel like shirt off him compared to the hot 25 year old. I was like, this is like, this is like, is this what you have to look forward to in dating in your 30s versus the doctor's, but like, you can't meet a 25 year old doctor. I don't care. I don't care. I don't care. I mean, I just want to date a doctor. I would rather date a hot guy. We know. Sorry. Well, my boyfriend, I love my boyfriend, IE, why my boyfriend's hot, but yeah. Well, I'm at the point where I find 30 something hotter than 20 somethings. Yeah, I mean, same. My boyfriend's in his 30s. I don't like King. Well, there's a whole scene in the beginning where they all have different kinds of colored Louis Vuitton luggage. You know, like, when in 20 somethings, they think they were becoming the talker to town. We're still the talker to town. Oh, yeah. I love that. I love that. Before they go into Sydney. They do ask. They're still the talker to town. They do ask. They ask a really big question, which is, are 20 somethings friend or foe? What do we think? The 30s, some things. Yeah. Based off all our reaction, we're like, we're all begging them when we were in our early 20s. I think, you know what, like, I think you should befriend the youth because they're the future. I have noticed with our podcast because we're constantly interacting with 20 year olds or 30 year olds because of the millennial content we're covering. Yeah. And it is like, they should be mad at us really. Why? Because millennial, well, everyone's allowed to be mad at us first of all, but second of all. I mean, you guys millennials being like, why are these teens getting to have a podcast to value each real girls? Like that's mainly what the haters said. No, but maybe it's like, they want it, like, your generation to appreciate it, you know what I mean? Like, I feel like that's what it is. For your voice here, I feel like that's what it is. And their 30s are so funny. Yeah. There's a reddit haters are 30. They are. I know. But like, people commenting on it. Yeah. Do people say this? A lot of reviews are like, why would we want two stupid 23 year olds talking about girls? So crazy. Like, especially since most rewatch podcasts are like the creators or stars of the show, they're like, who are these teens? I feel like that's more special because you're watching it with the frame of reference of like, being younger and not being alive during that, or like not, but like, you know what I mean? Thank you. Tell that to the comments. That's actually how I feel. I mean, I don't know. Don't encourage them. But do you, like, when you meet someone younger and like your music scenes, like, how does it feel? Are you wanting to be a mentor? No. Or are you like what's going on? You're going to steal my thing. It's the Taylor Olivia question. No, I don't feel that way of like, you're going to steal my thing. I'm just like, I hope they don't think I'm not cool. Like, I'm just like, I don't care if you're doing the same thing as me or like, want me to show you things. Like, I'm down with that. I'm just like, I don't want to be lame. No, yeah. No, yeah. I don't want them to look at me and be like, oh my God, she's like old and like, doesn't have, like, I don't trust her opinions on what's cool. Right. That my taste matters to me and I'm like, as soon as like a 20 year old is like, no, that's not in. Right. That makes me feel like shit. Because I feel like that Taylor Swift projected that onto Olivia Rodrigo and that's why they had the following out. Well, yeah, I, I don't know. I feel like she was probably feeling like she was going to be replaced and she's no longer like the young person. Yeah, but it's like, well, by the way, this girl 16, like, she's not going to be you. Like, yeah. You were 16. My comparing L.A. to New York is your Taylor Swift for Olivia Rodrigo. Oh, I'm like, I seriously want to Olivia Rodrigo come up and like, don't say anything about Taylor Swift. I'm like, don't know all that on the internet. It's just like, sorry, I do keep bringing up Taylor and Olivia because I am like, I love Olivia Loki. They represent. I love all of them. They represent like a cultural moment that we're all dealing with like, you know, like to me. Alan coming out, like, just one woman coming out. and I like represented something in the culture. so fun. You think Taylor versus Olivia is like the 30 some things versus 20 some things. Yes, yes, yes, like the 20 some things just want to be like I love you and I look up to you. I want to be just like 30 some things feel like oh my god like they're cooler and like hiper than me and they like relate more to their generation and they're gonna replace me. But I'm like the friend that person because then you can learn from them and then you're inherently cooler. Now you relate to that younger generation. This is what Samantha learns in this episode because Nina of course steals everything from her and then throws an amazing party where Samantha says people that I've invited showed up to this party that never show up to my party. Like fuck and she's like you know what I have to say in this girl's good graces because to burn this bridge would be to like put put put what's it called what's that matter for where it's like put a cog in my own machine or something that's not it. Nathalie at it. It's like taking future opportunities away from yourself. No Samantha is smart for that because she's like okay wait she could potentially be in and she plays nice yeah fighting yes not fighting the hands that feeds you I think it's eating your own foot or putting a foot in your mouth. No I think it's like cutting off your I don't fucking know I don't know. Yeah but you all know what I'm saying things that make no sense like eating your leg eating your arm. I'm like someone listening at home is so pissed off. Yeah they hate this. But it's like I hate these 20 year-old Samantha has this amazing redemption art because she's feeling old right but then the party it looks like it's fabulous right and then she gets close to the girl on the inside realizes everything's about to crumble. There's fires to be put out everywhere and the girl Nina is actually freaking out and really needs the party. It's amazing. It's not an Asian cowboy fusion event. What is it called again? I don't have it. Oh my god. I just remember the cowgirl had to mean like work. I want that. Well there's a moment where Nina while writing the party she's freaking out and there's a waiter coming up to her. You're a waiter. You don't wait. You go. And then the friend comes up to her and then she's like freaking out and she's like you're on coke. Yeah the friend goes you jealous. We're out of country fried goat cheese. There's like cactus and someone's foot. Someone's bleeding over there and she goes you are on coke she goes you jealous and then the fireworks are going off and then the owner comes over to us and you know what it's happening and she goes freaking out. I can't stop them. I can't stop them. They're on a barge. And some of this looks like someone needs a little expert. Yeah. Okay she goes to me. So what can we do? Like how do we get everyone out? She goes follow me and then like in a way that's like any one can do that. She goes everyone outside and then it's all the days. So easy. It's like I'm like but she just turns it on. We missed a big part. We're crabs. So let's talk about Charlotte getting crabs. Who among us has learned what crabs are in the last day. Me last day. Did you tell me last night? I didn't know what they were. No I mean I knew what kind of what they were but I didn't know what they were. I thought it was more of an STD like a chlamydia situation but it isn't actually like pubic lace. Yeah. So girl. Which is just you can't be dealing with that in your 30s Charlotte. I don't know. It takes a while I get rid of it. I've had plenty. I kept seeing like gonorrhea but it was crabs. And for four months we were taking gonorrhea. Four months. Oh my god. Taking gonorrhea pills. That's horrifying. Oh my god. There's always an injury. I know. But wait, I don't understand because I got lice as a child long hair. It was like hell but it was out in two days. Yeah. And it's like if it's just your pubic hair baby you could shave that off. Is it just your pubic hair? I'm not explaining it. That is not work. I'm just like there's no fucking way. It's like that hard to deal with. But I guess that's why the doctor's like I can help Charlotte and then Carrie's like I think she can handle. The same guy. He was dating this guy in Spain that day broke up but this guy from Spain came to visit him. My friend was like we can have sex while you're here because I have pubic lices. I fucking don't care. I still have my love with you and he had because he didn't believe that my friend had crabs and now he has crabs. He's taking him back to Spain. I feel like girls would talk about it and I feel like if I knew someone with crabs, I would peer about it. Like there's no way my friend would hide that for me. Like that's crazy. If I had crabs, I'd let every girl know. Yeah, I'd be like you need to watch out for this thing. Yeah. Women are community. Get a wax. Maybe they've gone away because more girls are getting waxed. We thought it's eradicated. Right. We've eradicated. We've eradicated. Because women are getting their posse slaves. Yeah. Women are like what she's like. So crabs, but crabs is on the rise. Perhaps is on the rise. Imagine if crabs is on the rise. I'm not gonna wait. It's not manifest. Laurel, she's painting. Carries first time. She's like, you'll never do manual labor for me. 10 seconds later, she's painting. Carries no nails. I know. And then Charlotte walks into her. She was like, I think it's like tick on my stomach and Laurel the sex executive passed. She goes, no, I think that's crabs. Oh my God. She knows. Oh, yeah. She's like, that's not a tick. Well, this is the thing she reads everything about sex the way I am this girl. She knows everything about that she's not practicing. That's the best way to be. Really? You can weaponize it. Okay. I'm like, go off. I'm just like, that's kind of crazy. It's just crazy. They get back from the beach. Charlotte's like sunburned. Yeah. Also Charlotte looks great. I feel like she didn't need to lie about her age. Like that 25 year old would still love that. Well, then he finds out she's 33 and he's like, it's not about your age. It's about that you're a liar. Yeah. And he goes, that's worse than giving you crabs. And I'm like, babe, that's not. Well, he knew he did wrong because he saw Charlotte at the party and he goes to hide from on top of the deck when he connects on it. And then she goes, oh, I see. I'm doing a meat in the middle of the stairwell. Oh, and then Samantha gets back at Nina by being like, you look love this case. That's so clever because it's like she wins. Like they'll never know that it's all interconnected. And it was like, it's like home alone. It's all interconnected. Okay. And then Carrie sees big again. Right. So we're at the party. Samantha's got all this, whatever. Carrie's like, I hear a voice that I know. Oh, my God. No, she's having this epiphany where she's like 20 something year olds aren't our enemy. Like we love 20 something year olds because they're just trying to learn from us. And then in that moment where she has this epiphany, she sees big with Natasha. Who's a 20 something? Who's a 20 something year old perfect woman. And any conclusion we thought we were getting to on on a meeting, because she hates that girl. And she goes, hey, big. And he goes, I was meant to call you. She's like, so you're back from Paris. Yeah, the deal fell through. Natasha's seeing Carrie going, oh, I've heard so much about you. Oh, so crazy. I've never been there that long. Now Natasha's stunning. And she seems like a gorgeous girl. Yeah. Get the fuck out of my TV show. I just feel like that would wreck me. Of course, she's like the on paper, like perfect. Like, you know what I mean? Like tall, beautiful, like chic, you know, or like, Carrie, yeah, Carrie compared like what she's wearing. Like it's just like so much more eclectic and fun and cool. But it's like the cool girl versus like the like normal. Well, this goes back to the conversation we were having last night, which is, would you rather want your ex to date someone hotter, uglier? Yeah, because if they're hotter, you're jealous. But if they're out there, it's like, so he just dates ugly girls. Like, yeah. Well, I just think there's always like this. But I've always been a little bit more of like an artsy, like weird, like girl. And then my sister's always been like very like feminine like you, like just a classic like girl. Yeah, her name Scarlett. She's the best. I love her. But she's very chic. Like that's her nail done, right? Yeah. You know who else went to Tulane? Natasha. Oh, and a show. No. No way. So you're describing as perfect Carrie versus Natasha. My sister's cooler than Natasha. But like, she's a little bit more feminine. And then she be friends with Natasha. Yeah. Yeah. I think she could be. We'll see. Okay. We don't know. But I'm just thinking like, okay, it's this like feminine, like beautiful, simple girl versus like artsy, cool edgy, like writes a sex column. And it's just like you want that, the guy like big, the like finance guy to like choose you because that makes you feel valuable. Like it's an internal thing of like, oh, like I want to be that girl. But I'm not. And then watching him actually choose that girl that like she's probably insecure about. Absolutely. It's so Lena and Jack. It's so Lena, Jack and Margaret Qualie. Oh, and Lord. No, literally. And Lord as well. Oh my God. Maybe I'm like, what's in another even example? I like don't know. Isn't it like, like, like Haley Bieber? Maybe it is Haley Bieber. Haley Bieber compared to Selena Gomez. Selena Gomez, one of those beautiful people. I don't know. I mean, the corky girl being Selena Gomez. I know because she's not quirky. But I just feel like it's so encapsulated. in the outfit carries wearing with, like, what Natasha's wearing. It's the classic trope of the guy choosing like the young pretty girl who has less of a mind of her own versus like the girl who's like self-actualized and is like, no, no, I mean, he has a bad. Selena Gomez is quirky because she got loop is from attack. Maybe she went to the Hamptons. Because he went to the Hamptons. Well, also, I don't know. And then she got a kidney from her friend and then she's cut her friend off from her. So that's chaos. You know what? We don't know the whole story. And I support Selena. I love Selena Gomez. I love Selena Gomez. This is a physical platformer. Supporter. Stop. I guess we're rolled. But it is interesting because you would think like Carrie looks like more like a 20-something than like Natasha. Like Natasha looks more put together like dressing like energy is more like a 30-something. Because quiet, actually, is for your 30s. Yeah. I know. You're 20s is too. She's very Ralph Lauren. Oh, what a nice. So that's a moment where big is where Carrie's like, oh, you landed with the model 20 something. Like you always want and I'm with the doctor and he's nice. So he's good on paper. And like her skirt gets like pockets in it. She's like, she shrugged over, hunch over with pockets. It's saying this guy's good on paper also is criminal. We don't see him one time at the party. No. What even happens? He's good on paper because he keeps being so kind to her even though she's like, I don't want to go to dinner. No, you can't go get a drink with me. You can maybe run into me out in an event later. Yeah. That's crazy. Yeah. He already searched the beach. Why? We're in the yellow umbrella. And then he runs out to the beach in her cowboy hat and Miranda comes over just, Carrie, what's wrong? She goes, I saw big with another woman and then she throws up. And the Randall holds her hair just like the 20s something girls were doing for each other. Wait, I didn't clock that. That's so sweet. Growing up after seeing big crazy behavior. Do we have any closing thoughts on this episode? My heart is broken. And I really want to try beef jerky kapaccio. What is that? Just beef jerky. It looked like just beef jerky. A beef jerky with a little bit of hay tied around. Oh, word like kapaccio is just going to be tough for me. Well, it's kapaccio. Well, so it don't really understand how it works. Yeah. Well, maybe that's the twist. Oh, it's beef kapaccio, but cooked. Oh, makes sense. It's like thin, I think thinly sliced is what carpaccio. You've been so raw. I went to an amazing sushi restaurant in the heart of Bushwick, New York last week. And the sections of the menu were split up with cooked sushi, raw sushi, but it wasn't true. Really? And it was just like crazy. But I like what they were doing with the space, but it really confused my friend, but they did have a role. It's like your confuse too. They called one of the roles the Bushwick role. What I'm confused, I'm like, and I'm really confused by my eyes. Like she was confused. She was really unclear on like what was going on, but obviously, let's cut to her second thing. I mean, we get back, we have a really important question for Skylar. And we're back, Skylar, we have an important question. And what is it? Girl, what girl are you? Okay. I think I'm a Carrie, unfortunately. What? Carrie's on Samantha Rising, I think. Really? Okay. I think. I mean, I'd love to be a Charlotte, but I'm not, because she's like pretty and cool, but I'm doing Carrie. So is Carrie. I know, but Carrie makes just like bad choices and- Do you feel like you make bad choices? Sometimes, yeah. That's okay. I love Carrie. I mean, you have the hair for it. Yeah. I feel like Scarlett. Next, I just need to get the closet. Yeah. Well, you know what? You're one of the only guests we've ever had that shows up in a heal for months. I felt like I needed to for the bit for the bit. I was like, it's wrong to not wear a heal. I found out last night, Emily doesn't own a heal. Except for that. No. I own platforms. I'm a platform based. You don't own like a little stiletto. No, I never find myself going to events. A platform based comedian trying to build a platform. What kind of girl would you think I am? You're aesthetically Carrie, but maybe I actually think we were talking about your music last night, which is all like time for low jump back in the day. Yeah. It's all slutty. Yeah. Well, that's why I think I'm Samantha rising, which is why I say that. Right. I think externally. Maybe I project for Samantha. You show up as a Samantha, but then in practice. But then in real life, I'm actually a Carrie. Yeah. I think when the key thing about Samantha, she's the definition of work hard plays hard. Yeah. I also just think Samantha has like a confidence to her that I'm like, damn, I wish I could have that in real life. Yeah. It's really like a man can hold and then like three to eight women. Yeah. I know one true Samatha in my life, and she's always on Fire Island. Really? Yeah. She's like, you see all her best friends are all like the most tone gay men on earth. And it's her like in a completely inflatable top. I was talking about this yesterday. I was talking. I was like, I think I'm a Carrie to my friend. She's like, yeah, I'm a Samantha. And I was like, honestly, you are a Samantha, and she's like a dominatrix and like super chic. Oh, wow. And I'm like, that checks out. But I'm like, I don't think I've ever met a real Samantha in the wild. You know? Right. I feel like Samantha is the extreme. And so you see notes of girls like that, but never a girl that's just a true 100% raw Samantha. Yeah. Clearly. What girl are you this week? I, as I've been mentioning throughout the episode, I am the 20-something absolutely obsessed with Carrie and being so fucking annoying about it. That is how I exist in the world. I also am not fucking. I'm so virgin loser who's like red every article. And it's like, girl, get a life all of, but you know what? She has a harder goal than her hair is gorgeous. And I think she has a bright future. So it's no problem. I'm Nina. Yeah. I've stolen actually so many roller ducts. I know you have. I have roller duct, like email less and I have a lot of sudden I'm really not email out on it. I like, I had this app work into not like 500 emails at once. And I have full excel sheets of her like, hey, Rebecca, over up her sheer half the way. I love to get in contact with you to get a coffee chat. You're supposed to meet you by that dog. Evan is always texting me like, did you see they see seed instead of B.C. seed? I took the list. I did something crazy the other day. I was like working on a shoot and I sent my invoice to everyone on the shoot. No. I B.C. seed or I don't know. I like replied all instead of replied. I don't know what the terms were, but I hung out with this guy or like I got on another shoot with the same team and he was like, I thought that was really baller of you to like attach your invoice to everyone. And I was like, what are you talking about? He's like, you didn't know you sent your invoice to everyone like 30 people. You played a lot. No. That's crazy. The way they thought you were crazy. Cool. Yeah. No, the way he was like, that was kind of sick of you. And I was like, yeah. You're like a legend in the scene now. Oh my god. That's crazy. I would never. I would never do that. Well, if you were to do that and you knew you did it, would you immediately reply, sorry, or would you just let it land? No. I mean, I think I just would let it land. I think I let it land. It's meant that maybe, but I'm also like, yeah, I hope no one looked at my invoice and was like, wait, she got paid this and I was like, you know, but I think we need to have more payment. No. Like you were doing it for a workplace transparency. Yeah. That's what I was doing. Yeah. I was trying to create transparency. Maybe someone like, you're like, I just want her invoice. I need more money. Is it? I like it. But I'm sorry because I'm literally, so our last segment of the podcast, we can't carry it away with. Well, don't be a bitch. I'm not being a bitch. I'm just being myself. I mean, I wanted it so topical I kind of have to go go. I discovered my sexuality slash gender when I saw Kerry Bradshaw, we're bikini with board shorts. What did it open up for you? My gender and my body. And I've been wearing board shorts actually since the inception of Washington's episode. You'll, have you seen me in LA? You will see me in a pair of board shorts. I want a pair of board shorts. She looks so chic. No, it's this. You would look cool in that. It's so hot to me. I think this, this actually, I've been into basketball shorts recently with like a, like a small top. Totally. I love. And that's kind of what's giving both the board shorts. Everyone in Brooklyn knows wearing board shorts. Doesn't matter gender, creed, or crow, but I've been doing it since a dawn of time. Gender, creed, or crow, but I've been doing it since the dawn of time. The first person on fire island to ever wear board shorts was me. Yeah. So Evan runs in a circle of gay guys that are going to be in their teeny weenie yellow polka dot bikini. Okay. But you're going to be. But Evan's going to go pants mode, which is crazy because they will show up in spanks to actual clothes defense. Oh, my God. That's crazy. Your little glitter shorts. And I completely see through top. Literally. That's fucking crazy. No. I went out with my friend last night and I was wearing pants and she was like, I've never seen your pants. And I was like, oh. Thank you. Girl, stay on the top. Hi. I'm nursing you wear jeans, Amelia. I'm like, wow. I was like, I guess I always wear shorts, but you know what, tell us. You went to a movie premiere and you wore this amazing top with like workout shorts, right? Yeah, I did. That's a pull. That is breaking up. And that was a secret. They're staying with me right now and I was like, I mean, it was just like, don't tell anyone that I'm wearing the same shirt for the three days. Every time I've seen them, I've been wearing the shirt and I was like, should I wear it on the podcast? And they're like, yeah, wear on the podcast. I'm like, that's the bit for this time you're staying with me. - Yeah. - We set you up. - We set you up. - We set you up. - You're so bad. - You're so bad. - We're staying up. - We're staying up. - No, I didn't really, I was like, they're not gonna bring it up. No one's gonna know that I've worn this shirt. I just have, I really love it. - I love it. - If you've been a long time listener of the pod, if you remember when we spoke about-- - I mean, I can't keep deep breaths. - Who the girl we were staying with? Who went on a date with a guy in Medin's Snapchat stories, and then we never saw her again? She's right here in the room with us today. But I feel like every day. I was like, "Okay, that's the bit of last time. The time of this time is that I were the same." - You're raining as a whole time. - Sure. - But that's okay. - The bit has been that the whole city's on fire and we're like, "So sure, I want his penis." What is that? - Yeah, the bit is that the oil hides his on fire and we're like, "Can't be like so crazy." It's so true. - Yeah, the last time I was, you guys were here, I'd even see you. I just came home and then you had a bunch of snacks waiting for me and I was like, "This is great." - I went to the largest food expo in America. - Yeah. - You found a way to get a free ticket. - So crazy. - What are you getting carried away with this week's guy there? - I'm carried away by this top. Well, I just committed so hard to this top. - What about it? It's really exciting you right now. - It's just like hot, like it's like a sexy top but it's not like too revealing. - You know, it's like a long sleeve but I'm not really wearing any-- - It's for intimacy. - You know what I mean? - It's quiet luxury, but it's quiet slut where it's like mesh, but only if you're up close. - Yes, exactly what I mean. - From far away you're like, she's kind of conservative and then up close you're like, wait, I can see everything. - Right. - Why it's got slut is so charlotte. - It's kind of like, yeah, you're charlotte in that top. - Maybe I am. No, I don't even think she's quiet slut. I think she's a prude. - Everybody we've had on the podcast today is like, well, she's actually just a slut. - Really, charlotte? - So it's just like a thing you put, I think it's more of a label than an actual act. - Yeah, it's more of an idea. - It was funny 'cause at the movie premiere that I was at, like they used my song slut in the movie and I was like, whoa, that's like, I was listening to it. And I was like, wait, this song is really crazy. And I was like, wait, I made this song. And it was kind of a weird moment for me. I was like, wow, you're just talking about second dick like that. - Oh my girl. - Don't worry girl. No, I'm like, I get it. I love it. I'm like, let's spread the message. - Let's go there. - I've only did here and I was like, whoa. - You know what I'm obsessed with is crazy. - What are you getting carried away with? - I'm getting carried away with Kasey Musgrave's new album where she has a song where she's like, I'm so fucking horny and she's like, I've been sitting on the laundry machine. Like, I need somebody to fuck me. Like, it's like, what? - It's crazy. - But it's like her classic tone. - Getting a haze in her sorority. And Capacapa Gamma. - It's like, do you remember? - I was like, Capacapa Gamma. - No way. - Yeah. - After the hazing, so I didn't get used to. I was also anorexic, so they didn't do that to me. - They were like, she's-- - They were like, she's already skinny enough. - She fought ED and she got ED. - You're like, this is great. I couldn't just circle nothing. - But I'm getting carried away with, remember when TikTok had that country song where it was like, the people would play it for their parents and it'd be like, saying so many crazy things. Like, dick down in Dallas. - Yeah, it was like, my pussy's so wet. I fucked up like, and the parents are like, oh, oh, oh. That's what Casey Mascarve's song sounds like and I'm inspired and empowered by it. - Well, I wish I was a better, I had a better carried away. 'Cause my carried away was like a hot take. - Do you have another one? - Do your hot take, yes. - Well, my hot take was gonna be that you should ask for references when you're dating. That it should be socially acceptable to ask for references when you're dating someone. - Oh, like, you have a meet queue and you're like, can two of your friends give me a call? - Yeah, or like, your exes. Like, I want to be able to talk to people's exes. - I'm like, I think that would be fun. - I think that would save a lot. - I think that's an amazing idea, but I keep seeing in the news this girl getting arrested for sending her ex's new girlfriend, a binder of what is about to happen to her. - She getting your friends to do. - Okay, but she's like, what would you do? - She's like, I'm like, by the way, I'm like. - I'd be grateful. - Yeah, I'm like, I'm like, what's not a date this person? - I'm like, what's not a date this person? - I'm just like, what law does that break? Free the girl? - Yeah, free the girl. Also, it's like, it's like, I'm still gonna date the person, but at least like, I have a binder of stuff to know what could go down. - At least a one-pager on like, what his whole issue is. - Yeah. - A LinkedIn for a day. - That's like, when our friend, Pascus of the Pod, had a PowerPoint for her therapist to get a new therapist. She was like, so here's the trauma. Click, click, click. - Stop having a new therapist is the hardest thing in the world. - No, cause it's like, I have to do this whole shrewd again. - You don't know all the trauma. I don't wanna get into that. - I don't know. - It's like a new story. - I know, imagine. - Skylar, can you tell the people about your career and whether they can find your ass? - Yeah, I make music, and you can find me on Instagram, anywhere, Skylar, X, K, Y, L, A, R, so X instead of an S. - Skylar with an S. - So much good music, and releasing a single, everything a month. - Yeah, I mean, not right now, cause I'm putting out a project, so we're gonna not be putting out singles for a bit, so just listen to the project. It's called, why is nobody dancing? - Oh my God, why is nobody dancing? - I'm the way we ask this, thousands of times a day. - Why is nobody dancing? - Yeah, every time we go to a bar, you always ask, cause the way people do dance, it's actually worse than dancing. - It's just people aren't dancing. - It's like the one like. - People don't dance anymore. - People don't wanna just like shake their hair. - I need to go to Berlin to be able to dance. - Yeah, no phones. - No phones. - No phones. - Thanks so much for listening. We'll be back next time. - Bye! - And mom, you guys are here, make sure to follow us on Sub-Sac is the best place to support the podcast, and please comment on this specific episode and tell us what you think the hampsons is all about. (laughing) - Bye. - Bye. - Bye. (upbeat music)
