Sex and the City S2E11: “Evolution” with Charles Hsu
1h 18m 40s
The podcast explores Season 11, Episode 11 of *Sex in the City*, focusing on its emotional depth and cultural relevance. A central scene features Miranda’s awkward, heartfelt encounter with a gynecologist, where her diagnosis of a “lazy ovary” becomes a symbolic moment of vulnerability, contrasting her academic success with personal insecurity. The episode shines through natural, unforced dialogue among the women, especially at the diner, where they openly discuss bodily experiences, relationships, and gender norms—topics rarely addressed on screen before. Charlotte’s romance with a gay man is highlighted as a progressive narrative, reflecting evolving LGBTQ+ visibility and the power of authentic connection. The show’s balance of comedy and drama allows for emotional realism, setting it apart from *Girls*, which leans more into satire. Characters like Samantha, who rekindles a relationship with a former lover, and Carrie, who shares a private moment about defecating, illustrate women’s growing self-awareness and emotional honesty. These scenes underscore broader themes of female autonomy, body positivity, and the desire for genuine intimacy. The discussion also touches on modern female empowerment, such as smart shopping and financial independence, linking real-life actions to personal confidence. Overall, the episode is celebrated not just for its humor, but for its authenticity, emotional resonance, and role in shaping how women’s lives are portrayed on television.
- And the director was like, "Be so fucking gay now." - That's how you drive. - "Be so fucking gay now." Action. (upbeat music) - Welcome back to Girls Reewatch, a podcast about girls. - TV and girls on TV. - My name's Emile Evertoller. - I'm Evan Lasvers, and joining us in the studio today. - We are New York friend in LA. - Our New York friend in LA, we're live in LA, with Charles Schoo. - Hey, guys. - I was just telling Charles, it's like the worst part about him is that he's given NYU comedians more hope, which they've had enough. Like, you guys have, you own SNL, you got Rachel sent it, and I always like, - You have everything already, Charles. Enough is enough. - Bro, what can I say? Go violence! - Well, it's like Greek life there. It's almost bigger than Greek life at NYU. - Like comedy at NYU? - Yeah, I did a show there recently, and then I sat next to a girl who is in a law themed, improv group, loving them, and Agin, that's how big it's getting. - A law themed, a law themed improv group, which is one of the six improv groups that have started in the last year. - Right. - And they have parties together. - I'm not improvising in improv groups. - Mind you, I never did comedy at NYU. - Oh, you didn't do comedy at NYU. - You were just being yourself. - Like, literally, I didn't even know, really know about it because when we started, it was COVID, so girl, all I knew was the computer screen. There were like, wasn't even clubs. Not to mind. - You're like, by the way, I went to NYU in my room. - Like literally, they did improv on Zoom. - I'm actually, no, I'm sure they did. And I like, I was like, in a sort of a comedy group in my senior year, but like, it wasn't. - Wait, are you acting? - Yeah, I was acting. - Okay. - I was doing like, Shakespeare. - Yeah, is it, there's like, they put two categories of actor? - The Shakespeare, the square, at NYU. - There's two, like, studies, right? - Which one were you? - I was in, like, Tish drama. - Yeah, but don't they, like, put somebody in, like, you're gonna learn method acting, and you're gonna wanna learn. - Oh, yeah, like, what method? So my studio was playwright, so that was like, it's not like an acting method. It was like half writing, half acting. - We're, to get both sides of it. - So you know a thing or two about a streetcar name desire. - So actually, in our class presentation of streetcar name desire, I played Stella. - No, Stella, is that make any sense? (laughing) - It would make a perfect Stella. - I was, I, and you know, at the time, I really was deadass, like, I was like, I can do it. - Right, and I'm sure you did it. - Uh, barely. - Right. - I love Washington Shakespeare in the park from the NYU students, 'cause there's no AV system, and you can always, in the front row, if you wanna understand what's happening. - Well. - And they also gender swap it, which is the best thing about it. - Always gender swap. - Right, always gender swap. - But also, my Shakespeare in the square was also on Zoom though. - No. - So I wasn't even, I didn't even get that live, like, square experience. - We started you off being like, Charles is perfect. He's keeping the dream alive. - Like, you're like, so I've been on Zoom University. (laughing) - Mine was only, Zuma, my school was only for half a semester. - Oh wow, mine was the full first year. - I'd finished school by then. - Yeah. Mine was intense so. - I went to Tulane. - I went to Tulane. - Which is crazy, like, I know so many people that don't have comedy there. It's a no laugh city. - Yeah. - No laugh. - There's nothing fucking funny about. - Stella. Stella! - I was obsessed when I was a sophomore. The seniors did a streetcar named Desire, and I was like, all these seniors are the coolest people alive. And like, the girl who played Blanche would like drive me home in her car sometimes, and I was like, my life will never get better than this. - You didn't have a Zoom Stella. - Yeah. - A streetcar named Desire. - By that point, I was in real life. - When we did streetcar that was better. - Fucking God. What was it like to then be like two years in a school being like, "Hey y'all, nice to meet you." - Well, one, every, we got a disclaimer. They said, when you come in person, please do not make comments about people's body shape, heights, or face under mask. - Oh. - So when we went, we were not allowed to comment. Like, we were encouraged not to comment on people's bodies. So it's like, usually when you see people after COVID, you're like, "What the hell?" - I got, you told me. - But you said you're not allowed to talk about ozemic, or not allowed to talk about-- - Ozemic did not exist yet. - I feel like people eating-- - People eating. - People either got bigger or smaller than COVID would know and stay the same. - Girl, if you stayed the same, what were you doing? - How? It would be impossible. - Well, I say the same way, but my body didn't change, but I got a nose job today. They took the cordless out. And that does equal everything out. - Right, you know the main reason I'm why you said that is because of all the body modifications that had happened. - It's so funny, 'cause at Tulane, they had a disclaimer too. They're like, "Make sure you tell people how they look." - Yeah, they're like, "Make sure you start by first at your pronounce, second say, a comment." - Right. I love that two different schools of thought coming together to podcast today. - Because at Tulane, you have to sell your body. It's not a model in school. (laughing) - Be a alumni. - Go away, honey. - Go away, right? - Yes, you're so good. - Where did you go to school? - I went to school in Toronto. - Right, yes, we talked about this. - We talked about Canada. - I'm going to Canada in September. - Oh my god, that's the perfect month to go. - I know, I'm really, really, really excited. - You're in a great time. What are you doing again? - Visiting my friend, she's living there right now, so it's her birthday weekend. She's just going to go down to Toronto, hopefully, and then it's pretty close to New York. - Yeah. One hour flight, love. - Easy enough. - Shout out to Canadians. - But today, we are discussing-- - I'm not quite in Canada. - Okay, okay, okay. Neither, you know I'm not that bad here. - Take that, take that, yeah. - Today on the pub, we are discussing the season to episode 11 of Sex in the City, Evolution. - And this is kind of most, finally to have an episode of this not pun-based, is hurrying my feelings. - You know, I wanted to take the top of this episode to ask everybody if they were taught evolution in their high school. - Well, yeah, it's been, but you're doing a set up moment where you're gonna be like, they didn't do it on mine. - Right, it's like I'm asking like, how was your day just 'cause I wanna talk about mine. - Yeah, I have to think for a second, they did teach it on mine. - Oh, so they didn't teach it on mine, you guys. - Really? - They did, but you had to get a permission slip to say you're down to learn about it. Otherwise, you have to sit in the hallway because you're godly. - And that's the same on this podcast. If you wanna learn about evolution, eating a permission slip, we're not gonna talk about it. - I can't believe that, that's crazy. - I know, like sometimes I'm like-- - Girl, did you get your slick sign? (laughing) - My mom, let me learn about evolution, but it was at the height of my Christianity. So I didn't believe it. - Right. - Babe, have you read Genesis? - Does it not? Oh right, 'cause it doesn't work together necessarily. - Yeah, it doesn't work. - Because God created human from bone or rib or whatever. And they were saying we evolved from fish. - It's not the sort about either. - Grow up. - Well, it's more than that. - Dude, we come from fish though. - I'm gonna explain, but it's a long process. - Right. - I mean, we didn't even come from fish growl. I mean, single soul organisms. It's the process of evolution, may I dare add? - Well, and then-- - And then-- - All I remember, do y'all remember, you might not, I guess, but do you remember the birds with different beaks? - Yeah, a finch. - Yeah. - So they somehow had fat beaks, sometimes skinny beaks. - This is like the riddle of the finch. - The riddle of the finch. - So this is actually called the riddle of the finch. There's a theoretical, you know. - I always wanted to meet those birds. I'm like, they-- - Girl, you know what I'm saying? Like, in the book, you're a bird. Oh, they're calling me the big, big, big bird. - They're going to be like, "Excuse me?" Oh, we all have that. And then I see this skinny beak bird. You're like, "Girl, what?" But then don't call it, if they had masks on, they wouldn't even-- - They're so sex into sedatives. Like, you'd be four different girls, and you can all survive. - So many fun girls. - So many. - So Miranda would sit there. Oh, well, in the finch, I wouldn't carry-- Oh, whatever. - I would love an animated series that is four birds, but it's just Charlotte, Miranda, carry a lot. - Yes, sex into city, but in Galapagos. - Yeah. - Totally. - Sex into Galapagos. - Just a quick summary of this episode for the folks at home. Miranda gets insecure after finding out she has a lazy oboe. Samantha hooks up with someone who broke her heart in the past, which is kind of unheard of for a girl, Samantha. Carrie tries to give herself a drawer at Biggs to little success. And Charlotte does something I really admire, which is dates, a gay guy. - Oh, this is a great-- - Oh my god, a rich text. - Oh, it's a pretty famous episode. - What's your journey with sex into city before the pod you were saying you've seen this before you've ever even touched girls? - I think it's proper. Gus said home, sex into city, then girls. And I know we did it the other way around, and Amelia is too-- - It's kind of logical. - You need, yeah, you do need to do the best sexes. Even Lena Dom says she'd be the show partially off. - Great. - Next to the end of the city. - They are so different, though. Like, I actually feel like sex in the city. Like, it's sort of, it's a feel good show. Five most of the time for me. - And you felt bad watching girls. - I didn't feel bad, but it made me think a little. It makes you put it, it's a different head space. - Well, of course, girls is a little bit more of a satire whereas this was where we were allowed to talk about opera-class white women, and not have to be self-aware about it. - I also, like-- - That's quite worse than conversation.
I'm commenting on someone's body to wait. (laughing) - Oh my God. - Sorry, Charles. - No, I wasn't even offended at all. - It's 'cause I'm hot off a bloom energy, which-- - The drink of bitches. - Yeah, you know what? For so long, I've been in the Celsius bitch, but now that I'm in LA, I'm like, fuck it, bloom. - What's in that? - It's like for women. - There's like, there's like, dietary fiber in it. - Oh, it's for women. Let me just, let me just, let me just talk to you. Let me not speak on something I don't want. (laughing) - Put notes on that. - But, what would you say? Oh, it's like, my journey with Sex and City. So, I actually, it was my freshman year, and my year, when I watched all of Sex and the City, I watched all in one, like, honestly in a month, like I would literally put it on at the start of my day, because we were in our rooms, like, literally I'd watch it all day, straight through the day. And it made me really, really, really be excited about living in New York. You said I want to be carried right now. - Literally. - I honestly, it's, it does show is so insanely good, it keeps New York constantly relevant. - It makes you so excited to live in New York, because they're always, always, somewhere new, doing something fun, and it paints New York in a really sort of fun, whimsical way most of the time. Obviously, the relationships can get sort of negative and messy, but like, New York, as a setting, is really, really like exciting. - It's Disney World for adults. - Yes, it makes you feelin' hobby. - You're like, wait, I want to go get a turkey leg. - Literally. - Yeah, that's what the magic abroad city is kind of there. It's like, we're watching, it's gonna take place in LA. It's like LA is exciting, 'cause we're in LA, so we can talk about it, but it's exciting because of the experiences you can have, but the city itself doesn't seem as ever green, because it's held up by the industry, and that's the thing that feeds it. - Well, of course, LA is for lying in New York, is for telling the truth, because LA, everything's a fake set. You know, it's fake snow, it's fake rain. In New York, it's like, that's a real cafe, 'cause they don't go room for a soundstage, bitch. - True. - And everything has to be so cheerful here. Like, every show about LA is like, we're starting a studio, yeah, it's very tongue-in-cheek. - Yeah. - Interesting. - But this is, I think also what's departures is that, it's like, this city is a true dromity. - Yeah. - Right, it's like it balances comedy and drama, so while any other show, you're tackling a sat-tire. - Wait, I thought sex in the city is a comedy. - It's a comedy, but it's a drama involved. - I feel like girls is more dramatic. - Yeah, I'm not denying, but it's definitely, it's a comedy first, it might be the common rom. - Common. - The common romity. - Common romity. - Comradery. - Comradery. - It's about community. - I told you not to come at my body. - Let's dive into the episode, so the show opens with Miranda visiting the gynecologist's host, which is very all adventurous woman. Do Hannah Horvath inspire? Well, Hannah Horvath has based off of this. Miranda has broken up with Steve, and she's taking birth control, and every day when she takes the pill, she's reminded that she's not having sex, and she's kind of fed up with that. So she's explaining to her gynecologist, like, "Listen, I need to get all of it, "not because I want to get pregnant, "not because I'm random, "because I'm tired of being slapped in the face, yeah." - My favorite part about this scene, she's like, the gynecologist's like, "So, why are you getting up to pill?" Like, she's expecting her to say something, and she's like, "Wow, I did it on the left, "I'm just gonna stop talking now." - Yeah. - No, like, she ate that. Like, she's like, "And I'm speaking too much." Like, I've never gotten a call in this video. - She is like-- - You did do too much. - She's queen of comedy for that. Everyone's like, "And I'll shut up now." - That's like before that even was a thing. I feel like just shutting up. - Yeah, like the shut, like, saying like, "And I'm going to shut up now." - She actually started this, remember? - Yeah. - It's like, it feels like the same exact doctor that they have in all Avengers women do in girls, where she's just going on and on and on about how she's like, "Right, the girls are always "waxing poetic, laying down on the doctor's leg, "and get a paid enough for this." - Which, do y'all do that when you're at the doctor? - Talk about shit. - I do. - I always walk in and I'm like, I need to tell them about my reality. And then I get too shy and I'm just like, "Thank you." - My doctor, my doctor. He can't acknowledge it, but he does know my web presence. And I thought it to me because every time he sees me, he's like, "It's been a year?" Oh, I feel like I saw you yesterday. - And he's a gay guy 'cause I go to the clinic that all the kids transition at. - Okay, okay. This is so fun. You should go to the gay clinic. You know, it's about your quirky web presence. - I don't know if I would like it if my primary care physician knew about my life outside of. - He's, right? - Wait, don't you want that 'cause the nicking of you-- - He's checking your prostate and it's like, "I love that reel about." - Like that would literally have, also 'cause I do skits about doctors, like quite a lot. - Right, him being like, "So is that one about me?" - You're targeting him. - Yeah, true. He's awesome though. - He's like, "Can you invite me to collab next?" - Really, can you imagine? I'm like, "Can you film me while I put on your coat?" (laughing) - So funny, but you know what, devastating about this is we find out, not only has Miranda completely embarrassed herself with the guy now, but then the guy now was like, "You have a lazy over me." Now, as a woman in her 30s who has come so far and has like worked so hard-- - You're like yourself. (laughing) - She just worked so hard in the top of her class, like to have anything in her body be considered lazy is like-- - Well, she has an amazing line. She goes, "Oh, that laser is over. "Considering a one-carge right at the top "of its class at Harvard." (laughing) - She's like, "Is it possible it's just on stride?" (laughing) - Yeah, I love it. It's possible it's just on stride. The doctor's like, "Girl, are you doing a salary now?" Like the doctor's like, "Oh, they got a real doctor for the seat." (laughing) - The doctor's like, "Wait, I'm so confused." Like, I actually just see the diagnosis of the eyes there. - If this is the first person driving you home, who are the people of the town? (laughing) - Well-- - No, it's like also like the lazy ovary. She, it's not so damning 'cause it's also like, she has the other ovary that's-- - No, it's like when you lose one kidney. - Right, it's like, you have the other, but one is not okay. So if you lose the other, then you're done. So it's like, strike one or two. - It's just like basically like, well, plan a better work, mama, because plan B is out. - Right. - I think Frankl is kidney disease, but she keeps binge drinking, whatever. (laughing) - That's so me coated. (laughing) Let's cut over to the girls at the diner. I love when these girls are at the diner. - Oh my God. - So Miranda, of course, freaking the fuck out. - This is where Miranda says, "I'm a biological underachiever, and I went to Harvard." - Yeah, it's so fun. - I'm like, that is like, God, my heart goes out to Miranda for real. Like, I know she's like doing one line after one line after another. - I don't know. - But the one lineers are hitting me, like, oh my God, this woman goes through so much. - Well, I love the sequence where it's like, Carrie's like, I'll pay, and then she's like, she pulls out her panties. I was like, well, I said, oh my God, how did these get there? I'm like, 'cause you grabbed onto that, and I'm like, through the table. - I'm like, how do you pay with this? (laughing) They're like stretching it. Like, girl, if I accidentally put my underwear on the table, and someone said, how are you gonna pay with this? I would like leave. I'd be like, girl, don't touch my, but can underwave. - I'm a sense of humor, I would give. - You would, I would be so embarrassed. - And you're a proctor, you're a part of. - Girl, don't touch my, I'm getting underwaves. - Not like, girl, I would literally like, I would be so mortified. - I'm not a hero. - How do you feel the fabric brushing up against your hand as you take out your wallet? - She obviously is poor circulation. Like, that girl is rain-oys, and we can't go back. (laughing) - Charles, she has poor circulation. You were respectful. - I didn't, I didn't know this was happening. (laughing) - I do think I struggle with experiencing embarrassment in the correct way, because when I fall downstairs or like fall to the ground, I'm falling a lot. But like when something embarrassing happens to me and somebody's like, you know what, that happens to me, it's okay to be embarrassed. And it's like, I actually feel fine and normal. Like, you're embarrassed on my, you're getting second-hand embarrassment? The initial embarrassment, is it happening for me? I feel chill as hell. - So why are you having a second hand? - I'm sorry. - This is so random, I keep hearing about women dying from falling downstairs. And sometimes they're even pushed, they're just falling. - I've been, no. - Where are you hearing this? - I started this staircase documentary to 2003 documentary this week. And then I listened to a podcast this morning where this man had like, had baby mama's all around America and his man is connecting the baby mama's together to write a book about his father. And the love of his life fell down a staircase and died. Sorry. - You know I have a history of falling. - I know, I know. - That's why I may nervous. - Yeah, that kind of-- - I'm gonna lose you to a curve, right? That means a lot of it. I'm gonna lose my friend out. (laughing) - Be safe. - I'm gonna lose you to a curve. (laughing) - Be safe, no you're right, okay. So meanwhile, so we got the carity and like, the underwear's there. She's like, I'm tired of bringing a carry-on bag everywhere I go because big is afraid of like me taking up space in his life. And it's like, she should be insecure about that. Like, what is his deal? Like, why doesn't anyone give her a fucking drawer? Okay, they just got a drawer, I checked general laws. And they weren't even dating that long. - Can she not even get like even an underbed box? - A corner. - A corner. - Keeping an underbed, pull out box. - Which leads to a good job hiding it. I feel like you want a drawer so bad, find one. - Girl, just hide it under a pot. - You're like, she's victimizing herself. She could get a drawer. - Well, we see what she does, right? (laughing) - We see what she does. - One other thing I love at the table is [BLANK_AUDIO]
It's like I have a tilted uterus, oh yeah, but mine what is she she's like the sperm has to like jump over? Oh But it's like when she does it. It's so natural like no, aren't you so Yes, yes, yes, they're unbelievable. It's so amazing like they have such nice flow, especially Sarah just got Parker like Everyone is like I feel like clowns carry like Up until today like about being cringe about being whatever and like To me she is so naturalistic and Real and chill like nothing about it is cringe I can't find it to be cringe. I don't know why why the acting is it's it's better than a truly any movie I've ever seen It's so it's so good. It's some of the strongest performances totally because it's so seamless and they're able to like deliver very Campy sentences in full earnest to the point you're like yeah, that person naturally would say something like this It does not take you out of the programming at all. No, I am literally like it's also everything is so sharp and funny and Feels real meanwhile they're hitting like topics that have never been discussed on TV before like by the way This is the first time for women at a diner have gotten to talk about the gynecologist on TV And like Samantha talking about like I hate a gynecologist. That's a man because if a man is up in me He should be by me better or guys Yeah, she's like last time I wear underwear so the gynecologist Miranda, well, I'm never borrowing your dress again I do love that Miranda is constantly bringing the vibe down because of her over like she's like Why she's like I would never date somebody who wore a scrunchy that is something that I was like well now like wearing a scrunchy It's actually pretty cool. Yeah, it's so funny when she said that I was like damn I guess back then I was super cringe like they were carrying a whole debate and like I think it's like season five for the scrunchy debate Where they're at a restaurant and I wanted to bring a scrunchy and I think it's even with big where she got talks about like Oh, that woman's on a tourist know that woman is a tourist a woman in New York would never wear a scrunchy, right? There's she's always struggling around the scrunchy just hates a scrunchy mind you the first time I wore a scrunchy I was in New York, right Y'all remember when Emma Chamberlain sold the scrunchy Do you guys not My hair in a side pony like that last week and I felt so Emma Chamberlain. It's such a vibe It's such a vibe I guess grunchies are maybe out of trend again now, right? We're really in a claw clip kind of situation. Yeah claw clip when when Starless says that she said twist of uterus my whole my brain was like It's like yeah, and like it's king to go in there. I'm like what is happening? There's a loop to go So basically the sperms have to jump over the hill for me to get Spirms have to jump over the hell and then she's like oh, right. That's later in the episode She's like does your mom have a tilted uterus too and she's like Well, they're so good at planting seeds. Yeah, yes, this is Harkens to when Charlie can get pregnant later in the show Like I carry again also with the scrunchy like there's a there's a through line where we're like oh, I actually believe there's Because we've actually here we go. We're talking about it earlier Charlie talking about how her uterus is It gets you and that's one fucking scene No, it's obviously not like fully on purpose, but they but I mean it's so many writers forget about what they say Drop things in television. So the fact that they didn't I appreciate. I know. Oh, I wanted to finish the thought on Miranda Really being a bummer in this scene when she tries to make the joke I did a bartender and all I got was this lazy over and everybody's just like And like it's so must be frustrating to be Miranda because like everyone's doing one liners and everyone's laughing And then the end of the scene when she does her is everyone is like I'm like bro like y'all just stop like you were just laughing. No, like I thought this whole pod by the way I love Miranda to be like y'all laugh at Charlottes stupid jokes I ran out of this episode I love Miranda though. It's true you guys the people in my middle school who said I had a five had work correct And it is proven by the fact that I have stacked all three of my gutters sunglasses And they fit on my forehead But usually it's just worth them one at a time right my good or sunglasses are awesome because they move with me Making them a perfect sunny day companion and I don't know about you But in August where I live it is sunny whether you're running Riding or branching. I'll be doing the latter good or sunglasses won't slip our balance look at this look at But I'm shaking my head. They are not moving an inch when the market becomes oversaturated with over engineered sunglasses Gooder greeted I wear that's fashionable affordable and all performance without the extra BS The thing I love about goodter is that they have so many colors and styles like okay Look at me with my two different pink ones. I got a little pink going on Uh-huh, and you know something horrible that used to happen to me was the sunglasses that I used to wear Had a glare and that was frustrating because I don't want to live a life like that and what I love about goodter is They're all polarized the layer reducing lenses with UV 400 protection What I love about goodter is it kind of harkens back to the 2010s culture of taking your daytime work outfit To your happy hour drinks to your concert later I actually did go to a rock concert in downtown Williamsburg two weeks ago and lights were so bright I did have my sunglasses on that is correct Are you ready to upgrade your eyewear to something functional fashionable fun and affordable had to goodter.com/girlsrewatch to claim $10 off your first order That's g-o-o-d-r.com/girlsrewatch Is this still the scene where Carrie is like cavemen left paintings on the wall I'm gonna leave the hair pro 12 That's next That's actually she's at big she's at big which is a mirror so cool shot. I said okay film major cool Girl of course instead of leaving like she's like I don't want to leave a bracelet. I don't know what you would leave a toothbrush She leaves the biggest clunkiest cord hanging out with the safety tag hanging out three inches off the ball is as small as a hairdryer I guess it's there she's making a big deal because she's wearing her hair straight So she needs that device. I guess right. Oh, I love when she places it close the window and she's like the voiceover is like men May have invented fire, but woman invented playing with it So good so fucking hot when a girl goes from curly to straight. It's like she does leave it impact everywhere she goes totally I don't great if the way people treat a girl when she's straight into her curly hair to right and needs to be studied I'd actually I want third to be a one-hour stand-up special on what happens when you're a curly hair girl Who's strange your hair and how I have everything changed right right? Prom that my only experience with that this like Prom. Yeah, we know aren't you exactly? Prom that's only time I've just seen your year. I've seen your prom So basically it's my prom is this week guy no last week yeah But like yeah, the only time I remember experiencing this is like when girls in my high school with curly hair would treat their hair for prom It's a fucked up. I don't think I remember this What's your high school like a lot of curly hair girls doing the straight. Yeah You don't there's no bar mitzvahs where you grow up. No tons with the girls. We're addicted to spreading your curly hair Carrot's in treatment. Oh, they were doing that. Oh, that's fancy as fuck. My um Tugs. My high school's tons. My high school didn't know about carrots and like we were burning our hair every day With the cheat but with the cheat most girls would curl their hair for prom straight and for date today Well, I remember a lot of straightening hair for prom I believe. Well, it's like we've never like oh you're finally attractive It's I think it's like always it's like whenever it's not your natural. It just feels like I know you know everyone wants what they don't have right What's it called grasping greener on the other side? Yeah You look like you have a zit in Might if we all pop is in. Yeah, my way. I want to be Um, okay, so then we of course See Charlotte with her natural hair and her glasses on Looks so cute Smashing and she's on a lovely day with a gay guy. They just went to like a show, right? You're very Charlotte because you you do have hair similar to Charlotte center, but then you always do a blowout. You do have that like your hair is Thematically Charlotte. Mm-hmm. Absolutely. Well, it's so funny because I men actually like sometimes really love a girl and glasses And for her to think that's her Tony her look down Sometimes it's even more sexual kind because those glasses though are where I can tell like she didn't think those are sexy glasses I mean, they're like sort of block like blocky sort of like nerdy class Like those are she was trying to see the play like she was trying to play the play Like, and she's having a lovely time. She's like it's so fun to hang out with gay guys. They like There's so much of more to talk with them about like girl. Did you see Betty Buckley and We took all of the dogs to see now
- Yeah, how do you guys feel represented by him?
- Love.
- I felt so happy when I said a group.
- Well, I want both of your perspectives off of you.
- Yeah, you were.
- He is, yeah.
- So I was so charmed.
I remember the first time I watched I was so charmed by him,
but this rewatch, I was like so charmed by this persona.
Like I was like, I love this guy.
- I love this guy.
He's very to me.
It's so.
- I loved him.
- I loved him.
- He's like boyfriend material, totally.
- But he is, he's classic.
It's like a very classic Kelsey gay situation.
- Yeah.
- I know.
Well, I actually think this is a complete dying class too,
because all gay men that used to dress like this
are now wearing athletic shirt.
- I know.
- They're wearing, what is it called the Fanny Pack
that's cross-body?
- Yolulu Lemon Fanny Pack.
They wear a cross-body.
- We went to Ash and they were all in Fanny Packs.
- It was just me off.
It gets me so upset.
- Yeah, there's no, this type of guy is straight now.
Like literally.
- Literally.
- They're like actually.
- I know.
Well, he doesn't do something new.
- Well, you know what he is straight in this?
We do find out.
- Right, which I, even I forgot.
- Well, I think thinking it's like every,
every gay guy wants to look like a street guy
and every street guy is acting like a gay guy.
- Right, right, right, right, right.
- Crazy circle we've made.
- I do love that he can't hail a cab and Charlotte can.
- He's like, he's like, I'll get your cab.
- I guess not.
I'm too gay.
Like, that's literally what they're trying to say.
They're like, I guess not.
I'm too gay to hail a cab, but you can't, pretty lady.
You just have to show some leg.
- Yeah, literally.
He's like usually when I show some leg,
they drive away quick.
- Yeah.
(laughing)
- Which is such a straight guy thing to say too, by the way.
Right down on his line.
- And then he immediately kisses her and she.
- The world's her.
- Imagine her being like feeling no sexual attraction
'cause she thinks she's hanging out with a gay guy
and if he goes in for a kiss and she just leans in, like.
- She was so gagged.
- She's so gagged.
- Speechless.
- You know the cow driver was like, so who is that?
(laughing)
He doesn't even walk away like this, like singing the rain,
like, dude.
(laughing)
- It starts raining.
- Yeah, literally.
- It's so funny that her and his real reaction
is really good to having a straight guy with gay allegations
because that's what women, they crave that so hard now.
- Right.
- They don't want the gay guy with allegations.
- Right.
- The gay.
- Right.
- Sorry guys, it's amazing.
So it's funny to see the culture shift so tremendously.
They want everything.
- Totally.
- Right, like nowadays this guy would be like,
the dream dream.
- Bush with 10.
- Bush with 10.
- I mean, this guy is like the perfect guy.
- I know.
Even we'll get to the end, but I--
- We'll get to the end, but you know.
- Okay, so none of the girls are out the bar together.
- Right.
- And the gay--
- They're talking, they're kind of doing like a presentation,
a PowerPoint presentation.
- Oh, literally.
- A great man or a straight gay guy.
- Right.
- Now, do you think what they were saying is true?
- For the time.
- For the time, it's sort of, what they're saying is kind of basic.
They're saying, okay, there's gay guys that are straight,
that play sports, and there's straight guys that are gay
that have like musical theater.
I'm like--
- I know, that's how they lapone or write up for it.
- Literally.
- And Miranda's not on hormones for her lazy ovaries.
Samantha's like, "Oh, those uppers are downers."
- I want one.
- Peter, they're hormones.
(laughs)
- My mom says when she's on menopause.
- Watch, she has a tells and uterus, too.
- Oh.
(laughs)
- That's like, oh, I love the script with you.
(laughs)
- I'm like, you're doing the incredible job.
- Just, I love when they talk to each other like that,
'cause it's so natural, but it's so replicable.
Like, you can understand, like,
"Oh, I know what my friend Samantha would say."
- Mm-hmm.
- Yeah.
- And that's a beauty of it.
- There's a beauty of the--
- There's a beauty of the whole thing.
- There's a beauty of the whole thing.
- This person is like, "When are we all going to ask about my purse?"
- Yeah.
- I know many people in New York that do that.
- That know they're being ridiculous?
- That will do that.
They'll be like, "Will anybody notice my new top tonight?"
And it's like, "I'm being so ridiculous."
- Actually, you're on the new top.
Do you have friends that do that?
I have many friends that do that.
- I am one of them.
- Yeah.
- You guys are like, "Before we came in, I was like, "Keep it count these three shirts."
- I love them.
- But like, specifically the way she did it, that was self-deprecatingly self-obsessed, self-deprecatingly.
- She's the smallest person in the fucking world because I did something bad.
- Well, I love the cold dirt of commenting on a label.
- Yeah.
- It's so fun to be like, "We were just watching Real House with Beverly Hills."
- Yeah.
- And there's this one character every time she wears off.
- It's Valentino.
- Yeah.
- $2,500, can you imagine?
- Yeah.
- And it's Doree.
- No, her name is Pam.
- Dana from. - Yeah, Dana.
- Pam.
- Well, okay.
So then Carrie is talking about that and then her big reveal to the girls and she like whispers
it and gets quiet.
She's like, "I did my first number two at Biggs."
And Charlotte's like. - Oh my god.
- She's like, her lips turned bright red.
She's like, "You can't do that."
- Yeah.
- If someone said that to me, I would do the same thing.
I don't think that's like cool, like to share it.
Maybe I'm weirdo.
Like, is it that cool to say, "Oh, I pooped somewhere?"
- Yeah, yeah.
- It's like a thing for women.
- Yeah, as women.
- It's like a thing.
- I have. - Okay, I don't mind.
- I don't mind, but it's like, I have a friend who's been holding in him for months now,
her farts.
Because he's worried that one fart could ruin a relationship.
- Yeah.
- And she's actually causing her such in severe levels of pain, holding in the farts that
she has now had to come up with like. She's had now had to train her body to move the gas like up inside of her as much as possible.
That way it doesn't like, congratulate like around her stomach region and cause as much
pain as the possibly can.
- And. - She's an airbender.
- This is literally like. - This is happening today all across the country.
- I mean, you're going on a trip with a friend,
you're immediately pooping to first stay in
on your singer hotel room.
You're not going to lobby.
- Oh my, obsessed with Miranda.
- Miranda being like, when I was dating a guy,
we went to Bermuda.
I spent the whole trip running to the hotel lobby.
- I could have never, dude.
I, well, I did do that actually recently.
There was like, we're in the green room.
And there was only one bathroom in this green room.
And I went to the venues public bathroom to do that.
But that was more out of,
I don't wanna be so close to people.
- Right.
- Rather than a shame of the actual event.
- Okay, so you're not gonna say,
there's no empathy for this experience at all.
- No, I guess maybe not.
I didn't understand it that well.
- You said, what are these girls going through?
- I was terrible, you know what?
- You have to release them house a mile away
from your house if you catch it.
so it doesn't come back to your house.
I'm like, I will poop it.
I have to be like, literally,
you're like, if I'm seeing someone butchering,
I only poop in my house.
- Yeah, I'm like, I will poop in different burrows.
Just to even avoid the implication.
- Oh, I mean, clean shit is.
(laughing)
- I mean, I don't get only like to use the bathroom
in my apartment anyways.
So maybe that's also why I don't relate to this.
- Oh, you only poop in your apartment?
- Uh, usually, right.
- I'm like, yeah, I was a rule, like,
the tissues at home, like.
- Also, I only use flushable wipes,
so it's like, if I met someone else's place,
that's not.
log to the system girl.
- Effort.
- And no, God forbid you give jobs to plumbers.
God forbid.
- Also God forbid.
- It's good for the economy.
- Plumbers?
- It is hate people, I will tell you.
I keep having a plumber, I'm gonna have some like,
I explained exactly what is you do.
- What is you do?
- It's happening.
(all laughing)
Electrician, I've run nose out.
- Electrician.
- But no, he, I keep telling him,
I'm like, okay, so central line is clogged, he goes,
no, it's just an individual clog,
and we're spending six to eight hours of doing,
who's on first?
Who's on second, but yeah,
- No, they need to hear kind of personal experience.
It's like doctors, like doctors refuse
to actually acknowledge what the patient's are.
It's kind of their journey.
And plumbers to the doctors of the house.
- That's cool.
- Okay, so after the big number two reveal,
Samantha then sees from across the bar
an old lover, Dominic.
And Dominic is a man who broke Samantha's heart years ago
back when she was still letting herself experience love.
- Emotions and love from heartbreak.
- And she says,
"Now I'm in a better place.
"I'm stronger than ever.
"What if I flirt with him
"and then blueball his ass?"
- Get him back.
- To show him that he has no power over me anymore.
- Is this the ultimate fantasy?
- Yeah.
- I keep dating people I've dated in the past.
I'm like, "You know what?
"I'm gonna end it in two weeks."
And then we're at a video game bar.
And they're like, "It's time to end it."
And it's just not working out.
It's like, "No, please."
It's the reason I end her back in this relationship
with the end in front of you.
- This shit is real.
- Yeah, I've done it.
I keep, well, you know, you date someone you dated like two years ago
or a year ago.
You know, it's gonna be fun visiting memory lane.
Because you want to hold the power. Yeah, because they hurt you and then you go to barcade and more spot case scenario happen more case scenario happen Girl barcade if there's no tickets. I'm not playing a game Please yeah, if there's no prize. There's no prize. I'm not playing a game. I've broken up and no prize I'm not playing like Super Mario Rose jumping up and down like that. That's me. I'm like girl I'll just play a Nintendo switch at home if I play a game for no prizes. I'll bring you this There's a video game bar in Brooklyn where I've been broken up with three times, but all the video games are free I keep going there. I keep going there. So guys break up with me. No, it's it's called Wonderville Oh, cute. If you want to see people I came by the way Members that work that this place have actually keep commenting being like so I keep seeing every game broken up with that Wonderville Finally a regular that's been your dream. Yeah, my dream has been a regular. I was a regular at pret aster place Oh really? A major? Love. That's cool. And aster place locations like that's chic and now it's closed. Oh Because you're not there keeping them going. What the hell did you do? I definitely was one of the their last like constant regulars. Like I was going every day. What is it next to the Starbucks next to Starbucks? It was it was across the street from my like studio at NYU playwrights like the was right there. It was so easy Ready to eat. What's wrong with that? Literally girl. Do you know where I go now lucky and coffee? Have you all tried? I don't know that it's brand new to New York. I hear they introduced like a hundred it's like Zara like they release a hundred new flavors a month Right now like right before I left New York, which was like at the beginning of June. It was orange later in orange juice They're waiting for the next. Yeah The month and yeah, y'all were gone for that right? We were there. We're not for the parade, but the way I was amazing the winning game I was like participating in state culture in a way that I I never really have in like a like a sports bar in thigh die and God it was a lecture. No, I came from Brooklyn pride I took an hour long Uber to the other side of Brooklyn where we have there's only I felt like I was in a game winning moment Because there's only five minutes left in the game and I'm trying to run to this sports bar and I for the first I'm ever I put on the radio station to listen to sports You can't follow thing because you actually have to know names numbers and kind of positions and you're like I don't know I don't know, but I could track it because every TV in New York was playing the game right So I lit the whole time. I was like it was actually like watching tenets because I was like oh and an extra up and that's so cool It was fun to watch back and then the win. Oh my god I saw two car crashes. It was so exciting People when I got home were there was a bus on my street We're about eight people were on top of it. Oh, yeah, they said very fire Oh, but they set us school bus on fire in Times Square. We came at I saw my exo at this event and I got right after the win Right after right after when I go to my accent. I'm like I just being cordial. We haven't talked in three years basically I go, hey, how are you? He takes his hand and he goes ill and pushes me away. I go we can't even celebrate the next together We can't ever tell it's a next together. He's sorrowed on me. He used to show me kindness. No, he snorls at me. What's this? It doesn't we can't even focus name you would never know Yeah, I'll show you you won't know me. It's like he's bad at comedy The thing is you say you'll say yes to anyone Yeah, we made up two names Literally, I haven't really really made up a name and I'll say oh my god I'm like I'm sure I know I'm so like you you're blocked as well I couldn't find maybe I spelled it wrong He blocked me. You're blocked as well. What do I ever done? Okay, I found it my found him. I love this game No, I don't know Wow, so he pushed you away and said you came at the next one The next one you think there's no need to say you and if you could say you can push away If there's any night to like not push your ex away saying you it's the night the next win for the first time in 30 years No, no 54 years at least yeah, a dabbing golf or bed. Yeah, god for big y'all dab it out It's because I was wearing polymer wall and he was starting to buy that And I forget when I wear a polymer wall. I don't know what it is Well, you know what like I would love to talk about this for the rest of the episode personally No, we have to go back. We have to go back. Let's cut to a break and then when we get back We are gonna talk about big showing up to carries with a bag of our stuff I'm trying to be inspired by the extreme coupons that came before me Which is why I'm addicted to us being sponsored by Rakuten this week The thing that's lay about Rakuten is that you can earn cashback and rewards on almost everything you buy And now for so long in our culture we have looked down upon women who are shoppers, right? But no, no women are being smart shoppers with Rakuten You know what I mean? There's actually a level of prestige of like academia going on when I shop And you know, it can be scary learning about a new way to save money and you're like well, what for what category of my life honey For all of them. Okay. They've got fashion beauty travel concert tickets electronics restaurants and more Brands from all of those categories of life. You can save money on Do you guys want to hear some examples? I thought you might Dyson ever heard of her urban outfiters half my stuff is from there Target hotels.com anybody trying to get away this summer. But with Rakuten you get to maximize your savings by stacking cashback on top of other deals like store sales and coupons Hashtag dream come true It's super easy and also free You just need an email sign up and you know what I bet my bottom dollar you have an email So this is my call to action for you guys join for free at Rakuten dot com or download the Rakuten app to start saving money today You can redeem your cashback your way check paypal belt points or redeem instantly in the form of a gift card from one of your favorite stores Or eligible american express card members can choose to earn membership reward points instead of cashback terms and conditions apply And we're back from the break Knock knock knock on the door carry opens up is like hey big and he's like I got you something Barney's and she's like what did you get and he was like A bunch of things you left in my house and she goes I'm gonna go cry in the bathroom right now She takes it She takes out a purple bottle of like perfume She puts it back in she goes I meant to leave those there. Yeah, and he's like laying on a bad being like what why I'm like eating a hamburger Like actually like watching an episode of Lilo and stitch like he's like not even paying attention That's what I like about him though. Yeah, he refuses to give her an inch I meant to leave those things there. He's like why it takes up so much space. I don't even understand He only has a forehead room. You're being inconsiderate because I don't wake up like this I need stuff to look like this Including my hair straight my makeup and my underwear. She is like Um, I need to dry my hair. Her hair is completely dry Yes, I thought that too. Wait, what are you gonna do? But then I was like this is a girl thing It's like that's not a girl thing. That's like what is she doing just putting more heat on her head for no Okay, excuse me. It's cannon to carry. She's crazy anyways Then we cut you an amazing walk-in talk Samantha and Carrie are walking with the most melted ice cream ever seen in my eyes It's a motto It's Tyra Banks got her dirty hands in the front model and you know, it's literally it's hot ice cream I was like did they not have the prop department handle it? I hope you have a plan. I have a dress So this is the part where Samantha is like I'm gonna go She's better. Yeah, yeah, I'm gonna go on a date with Dominic and play his ass And then oh, did you all watch gossip girl? Of course. Of course. Blair's dad Is it is Dominic? Yeah, oh, you're so right. No wonder he's gay, but he plays gay. He plays gay Yes, players for those that don't remember from gossip girl Blair's dad who is not in the show because he lives in Paris But he comes back for like Thanksgiving Who and he's gay? Is the same actor is Dominique which is well because when I saw him in the show But this guy was gay or like something like that was like a weird you can't go back. It's gospel Right, your your brain was like well, this doesn't add up. Well, in gossip girl He's like very like not like super like feminine, but he's very gay dad. His special thing is baking pies Right, so you saw this man at the bar and said he makes pies though Literally, that's what I said my head was only he's like pie He like lives in Paris brought to something he always brought to her gift though the road's just like why are you here? I'm just obsessed with carry me like well, I hope you have a plan and she goes better better. I have a dress Oh my god, it's so good. Imagine talking like that in real life honey better. I have a dress. I have a dress like you do Anger it is I think the voice over so Samantha then ends up having a lovely time and hooking up with him Carrie goes I can't tell if you are the future woman or the path she goes honey. I'm the future. Oh, yeah She's like are you like a woman of the the demise or the demise of women
Yeah, but you know, Samantha is the future. I mean, she has proven herself right. She's the future of what? She is the future of woman and by that. Yeah, I'm like the future of women that is now crumbling. So she is Millennial Optimism. She's a blah, blah. Well, she's Millennial sexuality where we thought like we were beyond gender politics and kind of a salt and rape. Um, and now we've really gone back, really gone back to try. But so many women have been inspired by her to get like completely black out out of our and say crazy things, you know, yeah, she's actually done so much for my favorite people are because Samantha has walked us Earth. Honestly, yeah, I know. It's like amazing her impact. Because I mean, women now speak more, the most cross conversation I've ever had about sex has come from a woman's mouth. And that's because of Samantha. Right. It is so iconic that when they were doing it, just like that. And they asked him control, like why she wouldn't come back. And she's like, I'm really proud of Samantha, but she's done her job. And I'm like, okay, yeah, she came. She did her thing. And she came again. We were talking about my plans last night. I have a dress. I do love the voice of her. Carrie is like, she's got the ego of a man with a body of a woman. So in the universe of sex in the city, that's her column. Right. Yeah. Which make that's always the part is extended to make sense because I'm like, she wouldn't be able to be writing about all these things. Cause like, everyone would be reading and being like, girl, don't talk about this. It was back in the day you could. It is social media, like, really look up. It is. She also gave her friends names. She would so in actual can this is articles. Right. She would take multiple experiences. And she would attach like these. There was actually no Charlotte. So it's just Miranda and Samantha's names. Two stories. And then she would write articles based off like Miranda's perspective at times. The articles were just about Miranda. It wasn't as it wasn't as interweaving. But she did. It wasn't like a gossip column. I am. It was fairly it's half gossip half literary, which is by the way, the best thing a person can do. Right. I'm obsessed with the idea that like, low key none of three friends read the column. So they don't know. Carrie's airing their dirty laundry. And she's like, well, I'll keep doing it till they notice. Like, what I think they do. They did. There's plot lines. There's plot lines where they don't tell them. There's plot lines. Well, they ask her, don't end the glues in your column. And as he goes around and turn, put the book. Which is so Hannah Horovat being like, right. God forbid. I talk about my best friends dying relationship in my diary. It is true. Diaries are might be red. We've made that much. We've made that much clear. So Samantha then is left by Dominique. Again, got her ass. And she said, no. And she does the classic thing where it's like, you can't fire me. I quit. So hard. No, when did you do this? So he when they slept together. Yeah, they slept together. Yeah. And then he's like, actually, sorry, we can't keep doing this. Like, I'll just take me back. Yeah, he's like, I just can't. She's like, you can't dump me. The whole plan this time was that I was going to dump you. But then she realizes like, maybe it's okay to love and lose. I loved that little face of realization she had to during, she's like, she felt heartbreak, which she told herself to think she would never feel again. But maybe that was a good thing. Yeah. And watching her face act where it's like, be sad and then be hopeful. Yeah, it was so good. Cause it's true. Like, there's something better when you, you're allowed to feel upset. Like, it's a good thing. You believe in life after love. Do you believe, which that song is in this episode? I do. He goes, I love that, Sarah. She's such a survivor. Right. So we cut to the pastry. What's it called? A pastry place, a pastry shop, even a pastry shop, whatever you want girl. The gay guy is a place of my favorite. And she brings her her trusted friends, Carrie and a bandana and Stanford to suss out to use their gate out correctly. And their and Stanford goes, well, I have a crush on him. So he's definitely straight. Such a good line. But also he comes over and he's like, Carrie, you're straight in your home. Usually on your column, you have big, but a celly curls. Yeah, she's like, she's like, you're red. Like, it's like, of course, every guy in Chelsea has these are dates, a cannoli. Like, he's like, so he likes to entertain. No, like, he's an amazing host. He's being so fun. I'm like, Charlotte, marry this guy, but yeah, and they're starving too, but they're like, I guess he's really looking at the food. I think I'm only able to eat with her on camera. Yeah, like this. Stanford said something so funny. He was like, give me a fork. I'm ready to have it all. It's funny. And then I was like, girl, he wanted him and he wanted that. He wanted and the he wanted to be filled by like an old man. Yeah, yeah, addicted to him being like his exit line was, I got to go glazed a wedding cake. He's like, I would stay, but I have to go glaze my wedding cake. Anyways, like, enjoy the treats so fun. So good. Meanwhile, Miranda goes on a date with a guy who's just gotten a hair transplant. Oh, God, that guy pissed me off. Oh, he was crazy. He looked fucking crazy, but you know what? I love to pay talk. So I was like Miranda. Don't bully these guys. I love them on my feet when they get a grotto glue, make hair on their head. Or they even do it. Well, we've got so far with hair plants. Technology. They don't look like that. No, nothing. Well, a lot of people are doing undetectable hair transplant. I mean, sometimes I think that's how much you're getting done, but so many hair transplants, you don't have to save the head anymore. Like girls are doing incognita literally like that though those big plugs. I don't think that happens anymore. Interesting. Because it's very grotesque for a while. Right. Like as a girl who wants to change her like hairline, you can always go like, well, I'm going to be a headband girl for a year while it grows. But if you're a man, it's like, oh, I guess you could wear hats, but like not a work. You can't. You can wear hats. You can't. Oh, because everyone's the girl. Yeah. Oh, can you know where had bins to them? Probably. Like, please not on the hair. You could wear a helmet. It's like an astronaut helmet. Oh, I'm just in a helmet because my hair transplants play. And that's like all fine. She's like, whatever. Keep staring at it. He's like, I'm actually proud of it. And then she's like, you know what? Before head. Yeah. I love it. She's like, I'm going to be the first woman ever in the history of television to talk about freezing my eggs. Radical. And for him to come back and be like, science has gone too far. Why would women in their 50s need be having babies? This is just gross. And she's like, she basically throws water on him and dashes out. Except they continue eating. Yeah, I was like, girl. I would pull the hair like out. I know. I literally be like, fuck you. She's just so stupid. I was like, I was like, bro, like you're just stupid. First of all, she didn't even want to go on the date with you. She's literally only going because she was like, I don't give a fuck. Second, you're chopped like, he says it's a ridiculous use of science. First, you're on, then you're chopped. Then you're being a bitch. I do love when Miranda's like, chocolate tree is going on. Yeah. She's like, why am I on a date with a guy doing crop rotation on his head? She's so funny. Get his ass. Get his ass. And doesn't this inspire Miranda to stop taking hormones? Because she's like, fuck this guy. My ovaries fine. Right. I just didn't even, I don't know the size behind that, but yeah, I do love when she's talking about freezing her eggs. And it's like a frame of her opening her freezer to get vodka out. I'm like, oh my god, this show's incredible. She'll put something in the freezer, but not her eggs. For now, not her eggs. Which I didn't, I also am like, I didn't realize there was a negative connotation. Like, that someone could have that opinion about freezing eggs. Like, when he said that, I was like, I didn't even realize guys were thinking like that. Guys want to date a teen and marry them and have them produce children for them that they don't support. Let's go there. I'm pissed. I'm fucking pissed. Oh, I'm crazy. Again, it's like the birth control, the birth control gave so much liberation to women and freezing eggs is the next iteration of that level of control. And I always find it funny because some of the largest segments of people that like will even look down on those that freeze her eggs are other women once they have told her that we were just talking to Kami. Were you part of that conversation in Westport? Right. So women are kind of judging other women who are freezing their eggs. And it's literally like internalized misogyny in a way where it's like you should just have a baby when you're 32. Like, why are you waiting till you're four? Yeah, I think it's more now from women than it is from other interesting. I mean, women have always been the, like, men are the ones that set the stakes of the patriarchy, but women are often ones that will enforce it, right? Which is so sad. Like, I think of so much of the, like, things I did in Texas to assimilate. And it was for women to accept me, not for men. But the things I was doing for women to accept me were based off of rules, men said. Right, right. And I'm like, damn turquoise down economic. That's what's that. Regynamic was actually. But okay, so Charlie does fuck the gay guy. They have a lovely time. And Charlottes, like, you know what? But that's not the hottest sex scene in all. And we've seen so far. She first starts by being like pastry.
- Chef? - Well, she's like-- - He's called theater? - Are you buckly? - I love her. She's like really quick. Are you gay and he goes, are you a lesbian? - 'Cause it's like, what would you, if you, like clearly y'all are in bed? Like, what did you think he was gonna say? I am, bye. - Right, like, what did you think was gonna happen? - Like, all of a sudden. - I think maybe she was hoping he would like have this miraculous coming out that she could be like, I helped him get there. But he's like, I'm a pastry chef in Chelsea. If I was gay, I'd be gay. - I'd be gay. - It's just so true, like, totally. There's no reason for him not. - Right, like, he wouldn't be living in like, babe, we're in New York City. - And then they are there. - It's so funny. Actually, men are so horny that I often find that there's late in homosexuality. It's either they know and they're pushing away as hard as possible. - Late in late. Like, they're pushing, like, gay men often know that they're gay, like, upon an absorption. Like, it is. - Right, Stanford's like, my dad gave me a book about the female body and I said, no. - Yeah, but because it shows the sex in the city, where there's always been like, men are the fucking worse. Women are like, I hate men. But that's how life is. You hate men. And then they really, oh, I hate men because I'm actually lesbian. - Right. - We do this about a lot of times over. - Yeah. - It's like, it's much easier for a man to kind of, - Oh, I think. - I do think because of the way society is currently set up. It's easier for a gay guy to know he's a gay guy than a gay woman to know she's a gay woman. - I just go blotter all over myself. - Why did you do that, girl? Get out. - 'Cause I do, I do GF, I'm in LA, I fuck up. - We got an IDF on her. - IDF? - We got an IGAF for on here, it's fucked up. - But they, they hook up. Sure, it's like, so this guy's gonna be, yeah, this guy's gonna be my new fucking boyfriend. This is awesome. Then in the morning, she wakes up, he's making like fucking pastries for her. - She's gonna make her something really complicated. And she's like, I'm gonna gain 10 pounds. - And she's like, he still be fucking gorgeous. They kiss, all of a sudden, mouse in the house. - What's that squeaking? - It's got a cookie. Uh-oh. - He becomes a shell of a person. - He's like literally, like, no way, he really, I know, I was honestly pretty realist. - Wait, I had the moment before I came in a flight from LA to here. - I woke up at 4 a.m. I'm going to my kitchen. I'm getting ready to make my morning oatmeal. I'm putting to my toaster, guess what? Mouse crawls out of toaster, right side. - No, no. - Yeah. - No. - Your toaster? - My friend lived in it. - I had to get in an Uber. - No. - And famously, let's just remember, right before Amelia moved out of our apartment, and she moved to Williamsburg, there was a mouse in the house. - I saw a mouse in the house and I said, I'm getting a new lease with strangers from Facebook Marketplace. - No, it's true, the mouse in your toaster? - Yeah, cause there's bread problems. - Yeah, cause the bread crumbs in the toaster. - In the bottom, it's hard to clean. - But so Evan, of course, didn't handle it. And said, I'm going to leave it to two women in my life to handle it. - There was no opportunity for me to. - Right, I was waiting in the Uber outside. - I was in an Uber outside. I didn't have access to traps because it was four right out. - We ought to get to JFK, Mama. - I know. - Did it turn the toaster? - Why? - Insected mice are addicted to doing like, afternoon, like in an early morning activity. - Right. - Like, I know they're-- - 'Cause that's usually safe for them. - They're hungry. - No, is that what they do? - It's cause that's your driver is Evan. - It's me. - But here's the thing about Stefan, that's his name. - Stefan, yeah. - He knew he had a mouse problem 'cause there was a glue trap on the floor. So he knew he must have encountered mice before because why would you have glue traps out if you didn't have a mouse problem? - He's inviting him into house so you can have panic at that. - What is crazy is the soccer game that ensues. - Yeah, it would touch my skin. I'm like, bro. - I'm like, y'all are both being insane. Stop football-style kicking the mouse. - We'll come. - Stuck to think, 'cause what if the mouse gets unstuck? - I can't. - Literally the only thing to do is to put on a pair of gloves and handle it. Like, I would, I'm squeamish. I would have handled it better. - My question is, was that a real mouse? It looked so real, but I don't think it was. - It's taxed. - I think it was fake. It would be so unethical if that was real. - I did find out. - I will say, like when I lived with Evan, I kind of thought like Evan would be the man. - Wait, I actually removed plenty of him. - Yeah, and so it's like when things died, like it was up to Evan. But as soon as I moved to Williamsburg with these two women, it became very clear that now it was up to me with me to be the man at the house. And so I've caught and released many a cockroach, which is really fucking brave and powerful. - Oh, you have. - Yeah, multiple times. - I like, I can do it. Well, I guess I've had many run-ins with cockroaches in my life. So it's for me, it's too lame, too lame. I wasn't going to my ear. - On your ear? - I was four. - What? - Again, it's one of my early morning to be my, I'm going to bed, my friend goes, we just had cockroach in a house. And it's like, oh God, I'm going to go to bed. I was like, what does that mean? I have a cross on your ear. I usually, it's like a joke. I go, it's for you. - Wait, I'm master manifesto. - Actually, I'm like, it's four a.m. - Can I send you my affirmations? - Literally. They come out true in an opposite way. It's like a one-wish willow. Now that cockroaches are obsessed with me, but I thought the fam was blowing or it was like a plastic bag coming at me. I was like, oh, why is this plastic bag keep coming on my face? And I wake up and I feel it. - Oh my God. - The more it's largest cockroach trying to get into my ear. - Oh my God. - I'm in my boxer shorts. I right now scream like this. Covering my mouth. Because obviously I can't wake up my five to six roommates. I have, I'm living with at the time. - That's a softball. - But I'm, now I'm in the streets of New Orleans. No shoes, some socks and underwear. - Some socks. What does that look like? - And I have a phone with 12% left, one sock underwear. And I go, I'm trying to go to every single supermarket that's opened up by raid. So I can kill the cockroach. - Tracy calls 'cause she feels it in her body. - But don't. - Advence Weedhart. (laughing) - Keith, I don't have any, all you have is Apple Pay or? - No, I was. - All you have is Apple Pay and a pair of underwear. - You know what? I'm really proud of you for being resilient. - I know. - Mine is just like the thing where like my roommate will start screaming and all come out into the living room. And she's like, there's a centipede. If you know the ones that are weird. And I'm like, all right. So they're really slow. Let's just kind of- - It's like catching the bugs. It's like a game. - I have never had bugs in my apartment. - What? - Knock on wood. - This is not real white girl. (laughing) - I think this might be. - I haven't had this experience. - So you don't know what they're going to do. - The ID Gaffer doesn't. - I do what is so sad is like the mid shot of Charlotte washing him be like feminine boots with a collender in her hand being like, well, it's over. Which happens constantly in this show is like Charlotte finally fucks a guy and then get the egg within 12 minutes. - This is pretty valid. I would say. - You think it's valid? - You did a little too much. If he was just like really grossed out and like really sensitive about it, I think it would be okay. But the fact that he was jumping up and down. - I mean, it was clear that the director was like pretend you're a little princess. - The director was like, be so fucking gay. - Yeah. - Now. - I think it's so funny. - That's how you direct. - Be so fucking gay. Now action. - Well, her first marriage, she's like, he won't fuck her at all, basically. And she's like, that's fine. As long as she's in a screw with a mouse, that works for me. - Right, she's like, well, I want him to be mask. - But like mask for just mask for a mask. - Yeah, like what happens? - I think what she was worried about, too, is like girl, what happens when we have a kid and the kid, like roots their leg and there's a bone sticking out. Is he gonna freak out like that, too? - What are you gonna do? - Actually, you know what? To me, I think, honestly, a mouse might be scared and someone's bone sticking out because it's like, you have to act, you need to, your brain will take over. It's action. A mouse you can run and hide. - It's like, it's more like a jump scare thing. Like the mouse is to me when I get scared. - It's on a glue trap. - Freeze. - I know this. - That's what I was like, if it's on a glue trap, it's not moving. Also mice are kind of cute. - Fight. - Fight, freeze, fawn. - What's fawn? - Fawn is like, people, please. - Kima, you're about to get stabbed. - Your face is so symmetrical. - We will wait, so the episode ends. - That's an amazing posture with the knife. - With Carrie being like, you know what? I'm gonna chill out about Big being weird about his stuff. Like, it's whatever. And then Big is like, you know what? You can't take it up space. - But he can. - But he can. - In her mind. - Well, it's 'cause she found the photo of them hidden in a scarf. - Right. She was like. - Like, girl, he wasn't looking at that every day. He left that in his scarf. - Right. No, I like the story that it creates in her mind, where she's like, he opens the door. Just look at me. - He's like, oh, I don't need to leave anything here. 'Cause I'm here. - 'Cause I'm here. - Not every day. - Natasha's gonna mess with that. - Oh my God. You'll be skipped ahead to like five episodes after and Big was gone and I screamed. - I know. - Anyways. - Charles. - What's the question for you? - Girl. - What girl are you? - Girl, what girl are you? (upbeat music) - Carrie. - What? It was not easy for you. - I don't wanna play. Like, I'm not Charlotte. - Right. - Literally. - Not Marin. I would never be so dower. - Duh. - 10, I'm not a smart. Probably. - You would be that dower. - You don't wanna be that dower. Hit the fuck. - I am not as intensely sexual as Samantha. - Right. - Whoa. - And I see similarities in my personality to Carrie. - Yeah, I can see you care. - You have a sad sack or no, but you like to pose.
Girl girl you this week. No you first. Oh, so well y'all could guess. I'm Charlotte. I'm constantly trying to do the gay guy But you know what? I actually get mad when a gay guy gets masculine with it like that That's where just like trying gay guy like the if for me is when it's like oh like I'm reminded you are still a man Like if he's still working your favorite and he picked up the mouse and just smacked it I'd be like oh, yeah, thank you for not bringing masculine energy here today Literally, I think I'd be I'd get the Ike if he was going like yeah aggro with it as they say Okay, and I'm I'm also Charlie cuz I would love the day-to-day guy I'll figure it out So Carrie Charlotte Charlotte, that's gorgeous It's tricky because they're these these specific types of people it's hard to sort yourself into because They're so specific in their characteristics that it's like hard to sign Oh, come off the problem come off to the promise of our show Most most people do go so we're gonna go zodiac with it. This is my son is my moon. This is my rising It's like I don't even know zodiac. You shouldn't I really don't either that's like where I fall off I'm like I literally don't even know that you're masculine. Let me, please I don't know about the mood all right. Well, we're done here. No, we have one more seven of course What are you getting carried away with? Well, yeah, I'm not being a bitch. I'm just being myself. I really do think that everyone should like have the opportunity to have like either Like perfectly straight hair or perfectly curled hair because it's it's hard to find your place in the middle and And you should know what the other side looks like so you can show empathy Because here's the thing having a girl pattern as long as these people think it is people think I just wake up with the effortless curl and Keeping straight hair maintained. That's another battle We need to reach out the bullseye. Yeah, that's so wait the moral is We I wish everyone for one day could live in the body of another. Okay, walk a mile in the Louis Vuitton's to have all straight hair People in the world have curly all curly discovery day and the wavy girls are just This is like a new movie The hair day, you know what it would be an amazing Disney Girl it definitely is like being in development. Yeah, it's just fucked up world where I want straight hair It's curly hair and everyone bald has a lot of hair She's she's has like kind of a crumb here It is so sky high like are you hear a worse? What will arm strong no, it's very diverging honestly, it's a girl run for your life Amelia, what are you getting carried away with I wrote my known actually, okay? I'm getting a carry it away with I think people who date should have stuff in common comma, that doesn't happen in them No, and you don't explain this one Like love people think that with that and I just want you guys to sit with that because It's unfathomable to me the amount of people in long-term relationships with someone They don't go much to talk about it. That's when they have kids. Yeah, that's why they have kids because it's like what else are you gonna No offense like if they're watching the same TV shows if you what's the fuck you play with Night it literally what is the difference and it's like well, I wish It's just completely like it's stupid and then it's like It'll used to overpopulate it. It's sour and then it's gone You know what it is. It is like the reason for overpopulation. So what are you getting carried away. I think when you're in a relationship It should be okay and acceptable to be eicked out by your partner And it isn't to me something you should run away from Right, no one is gonna be perfect You think when Charlie gets thick because she should keep going If I was Charlotte, I'd be like I think I would first of all I would handle it and get rid of the mouse one Two I'd be like, okay, you acted a little Intensely Maybe I wouldn't say gay. I would say a Stuffin you acted intensely. You were leaning into your divine Wapping like a damn flappy bird up in the sky and you were vogueing and you were You were doing drag now kidding.
