Sex and the City S2E1: “Take Me Out to the Ball Game” with Marty Miller and Missy McIntosh

The episode of *Girls Rewatch* explores the emotional complexities of relationships, breakups, and self-discovery through a humorous yet heartfelt baseball-themed storyline. Characters like Carrie, Miranda, and Charlotte navigate their personal lives, confronting issues such as past heartbreaks, superficial dating choices, and the difficulty of emotional honesty. The narrative emphasizes how friendships shape personal growth, with Carrie's journey highlighting the role of validation in new relationships, even when romantic attraction is absent. The episode uses absurd, exaggerated moments—like Charlotte buying underwear to fix a boyfriend’s ball-scratching or Samantha’s struggle with a tiny penis—to critique societal norms around dating and attraction. These jokes reveal deeper truths about emotional vulnerability, identity, and how people cope with loss. The show also explores self-image through fashion and grooming, such as Carrie’s evolving hair, which mirrors her emotional state. Brand promotions, including Honeylove, Shopify, and BJ’s, are integrated naturally into the characters’ lives, reflecting real-world consumer habits. Ultimately, the episode blends humor and sincerity to show how personal growth occurs not through grand gestures, but through small, everyday choices and honest conversations. The tone remains warm and reflective, celebrating the resilience of friendship and the messy, often humorous process of healing.

because i'm like don't want to do it you're like boys with the sopranos yeah exactly you have adhc yes it's a symptom of unmedicated hard to finish yeah projects yeah i don't finish anything good for you please i literally don't i'm more sex in the city than i am girls i'll be honest really yeah that is where i live you don't read that way okay it's beautiful to hear you even say that and i would it's radical today which is sad but also good yeah and also hearing i mean talk about fame like hearing lena be like almost like a download from the universe being like i want sex in the city but like for my life yeah yeah and then and girls and girls and that's what brings us here today i know season two i can't believe this is the baseball game episode i've met i'm i don't remember the plot of this episode but i remember the photo of them sitting in the chairs and i'm like beautiful before watching her door today during the game okay that photo is like etched in my brain you know what i mean really in the swing of like artfulness in the series here like the vision is still like it's strange to start the season with the ball game in my opinion or just like shocking yeah it doesn't seem like a pretty premiere yeah yeah you're like that's where we get weird with it in episode seven exactly yeah or even season three yeah it seems like a big shake-up like we've only had one full season and now they're like sorry let's go to the baseball game have you guys been to a yankees game no no i've been to some meds games me too yeah that's fun wait none of you've been to a yankees game no no we have to go the house that babe ruth built i grew up in boston so i was like taught to like the red salt the yankees should burn in hell at all costs but i obviously don't care now but as a kid i hated them for some reason yeah but you're gay it's like yeah i know well you should go with things that you're told gay no but it's like you grow up i wasn't aware of the culture but i was told the culture so i was like i don't i don't know so i'm just right you're open to whatever they're putting on you at that moment yeah i think it's so worth going to a yankees game okay we should go to meds for the culture and experience i was gonna say we could recreate yeah oh that's fun you already have a jacket i know that's cool so you're carrie hello well i'm samantha sorry sorry i see it what are you in that setting so that can't oh no are we allowed to do that or no no no we can do it but my thought is that it's like you're gonna say charlotte and then that unfortunately leaves you as miranda unfortunately whoa no but not unfortunately yeah but i mean i just i think that we're switched yeah i could be miranda i'm okay with that today i can also see you as miranda i'm miranda some days yeah really yeah on sundays or some days some days how about sundays when some well yeah i i'm miranda sometimes i felt i've related to miranda recently when she left the yeah the table when she got uh let's talk about something else when she was like guys i got my new palm pilot like it's so beautiful i'm like okay that is my ipad journal and i mean i'm like okay that is my ipad journal and i mean i'm like okay that is my ipad journal and i mean we're we're immediately greeted with a new camera set up i mean that really brings out the the red undertones of every single one of their skins i was kind of astonished and every red overtones and she's really not beating the lesbian allegations in this episode like it's some of the gayest in this episode later in the show i'm like come on like come on spiky like boy band hair it's like i know she right right right okay so i'll just go give you a really quick summary of this episode so for people listening at home this is season two episode one take me outside the ball game four weeks post big carrie treats manhattan like a minefield while miranda and charlotte drag her back into the game literally at the yankee stadium where she meets joe the new yankee stark and uses his new rebound prop to be seen with bag uh samantha suffers through james and annie penis charlotte scares off paul by buying him underwear to fix his ball scratching and miranda snaps at the group for being seventh graders with bank accounts before spotting her ex eric holding hands with the woman who he left her for the episode ends with a fake out carrie appears to call big in tears but she's calling miranda because the the final breakup rule is if you don't get you can only get it through a breakout with your friends the final breakup rule is if you don't get you can only get it through with your friends yes and kind of this whole episode is centered around the rules post breakup i got no rules i got oh my god no literally that um music video changed the world oh my god it actually it's like miami t right yeah she's short do a leap do what wait is she tall or short i think she's she's short i bet that hurts doesn't it we went to see her interview a very serious writer man in the new york public library and we were like damn do a leap do a leap because she has a podcast about book in my head she's six five me too in my head she's and she looms large she also isn't that short she looks like she looks like I was like, "Whoa, okay." She does loom large. She does loom large. But I love that girl. She would be an amazing fifth girl in this series. Yeah, she'd be really good. Does they, like, do CGI? She's really bookish. Get Dupa in there. She's not like a, she's very, like, she has a strong inner world that she does, she can't explore through her pop music because it's not commercial. Yeah. Interesting. It's hard to watch that for a woman. Sometimes I don't like it when she sings. Oh. Sometimes I do like it, but sometimes I don't like it when she sings. But we expect our female pop stars to just sing, sing, sing. You do like it when she sings. Sometimes I don't. Like, sometimes if you watch a live performance, I'm kind of like, um. I know. It's her tone is of a time. Yeah. So it actually feels regressive sometimes to listen to Dua Lipa because it's like, that was 2019. I agree. Comes in the future. I get a little bit bored with, like, her, like, evolved new happy music. It's the same thing that happened with Lorde's superpower. Yeah. She's, like, in a great place mentally. It seems. But I'm not enjoying her art. She doesn't care about her art. Her art is her book club. She has a book club? That's her. That's the whole. That's how we saw her in a library because she was doing a live book club. But. Because she's always on a boat. She needs a boat. Exactly. She wants it. She can monetize her music. She cannot monetize her book club yet. But her angle is, of course, to be a Reese Witherspoon. Oh. Oh, interesting. I do see that. I do see that for Dua Lipa. You know everything there is. You are smart. You are. You have to. Like, you know. No, you'll be surprised. You should work on knowing one thing. We don't know things, really. But that makes everyday fun. Yeah. You learn that Dua Lipa has a book club. Yeah. Yeah. And you also learn about collagen and stuff. Yeah. Oh, my God. I haven't taught us about collagen. I could talk about it all day. No, wait. Can we talk about the statistic Charlotte drops at the beginning where she's, like, all relationships you get over in the half-life? Yeah. This. I. I. I'm still kind of working through a three-and-a-half-month situationship from three years ago. So, I do need to defying the odds of science. Yeah. This is actually, like, just last week, I was like, oh, my God, something happened, and I didn't check off Instagram, which is huge. Well, don't you think that's a core issue is that social media makes her, like, you can't get over it because they're present. You need to meet them. You have to. Like, I feel pangs of devastation from a man I went on, like, one-and-a-half date with. Everyone's our ex. Yeah. And, like, six years ago. Six. Well, it's because Maggie Berman's a sex. Six. And, like, I'm trying so hard to be like, yes, of course. Six. When you're 15. But there are, I feel like there are just certain, there are certain breakups that, like, or, like, heartbreaks. Yeah. That you can get over and certain ones you can't. You can't. I know. Sometimes you'll never get over. Yeah, well, reading Fame Sick, it's like, so she's not over Jack. No. Not even a little. No. No. No. No. No. Not even a little. Not even a little. And you know what? Me either. And Duleepa is short. I love Fun the Band. My favorite. He's over that, though. I'll tell you. He's over that. I stayed there. Just collected. Fun was good. Fun was fine. Fun was good. Fun was fine. Sorry. Say it. Like, my friends are in the bathroom getting higher than the Empire State. Say that. That's lyricism. Sorry. Duleepa could never. Yeah. Do it. Try it. It's something called fun. It's not really. Yeah. She carries one month clean of big. She's not handling it too well. No. Do they ever say how long that chunk of their. It's like. Six months. Oh, they're dated for a year. They say. So she gets six months to get over. Six months to get over. Also, why did she. Why did she break up with him this first time? So the first time it's because he was being noncommittal. Right. Right. And so she was like, let's just call that. Which is kind of his tea for life. He's like. She's like, why won't you. Why did you break up the first time? His tea for life. She's like, why won't you introduce me to your mom? I'm not sure yet. And she's like. She needs a sign. Okay. I need a sign. And he's like, well, I'm not going to give you a sign. Cause you berate me to give you a sign. And so she's like, I'm not going to the beach with you. I'm kind of on his side. Carrie is like. I know. So shockingly annoying. Yeah, totally. But then it's also like. But then she's bliss half and perfect. Yeah. I like. Yeah. I kind of like. She's so pretty in this episode. And every episode. I love Carrie's hair this season. Oh my God. It goes. You get. I love her hair. It's a mixed bag with her hair. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. Yeah. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. It's a mixed bag. Yeah. It's a mixed bag. that is beautiful I love that I just got chills from that same honestly I'm like down with Sephora yeah and they all just looked I mean they look so beautiful all of them one time I spelled Sephora with an F by the way yeah he did sometimes that happens you know it's cool you see the sign and you say I've got my own ideas and who do you look like by the way Amelia Earhart oh people always say Jade from Victorious oh that is exactly what I'm thinking yeah wow striking yeah you're a striking are you an actor oh god somebody hire me um no you were in Girl Car I was in a short film called Girl Car okay so you've like done some I'd be open to it but I would be really bad at playing a character that isn't just me well no one plays characters that aren't just them except these four girls I don't know the way I watch them and I'm like they're incredible actors I think that they are good I agree I think they're just accessing like realness and they all won an Emmy except for Charlotte I think oh god I feel and that's why she has the podcast I know and in my opinion she gives one of the greatest she's one of the stronger performances of the four of them I think she's gonna win a Golden Globe for her podcast next year I just know it what's her podcast it's about sex in the city it's called Are You a Charlotte are you guys gonna have her on we would die to have her on I sent her a pitch talk hey girl what's her name Kristen Davis Kristen serious girl Kristen which can I just say I watched a Christmas movie where she played the mom as a child once and I was like she is so pretty she should get to like be in a fun TV show it's like she wasn't for some time she had a huge career it's so funny you do have to be in a hit sitcom to be in a fun Christmas movie yeah Lauren Graham SJP has the same trajectory as well oh my god SJP SJP is such a good actress guys don't cry don't cry I don't know why I'm like also Diane Keaton you know that is like I know that's gonna yeah well don't you think that SJP I don't necessarily know she's a full Carrie I don't think I don't think Miranda is a full Miranda yeah exactly Cynthia is a they're just accessing corners of their identity but Charlotte is like Kristen Davis is Charlotte yeah her blowout is just every single time I'm like she always looks she looked amazing in this episode she's crazy she did look amazing in this episode but shame on her for like getting a dog and returning it like don't do that Charlotte yeah that's not okay that's not okay no okay so we move to our second scene where Samantha is meeting up with the girls they're all heading to a baseball game and she's still with the guy from season one this is her longest relationship yet the biggest problem is his tiny penis yeah it's three inches hard so that's tough that is three inches hard like that is hard I've been there and doesn't doesn't she no it is hard yeah it is doesn't she pull out a vibrator to try and like make it work and he's like what if we didn't and she just cries which is so well he's like no I can't do that that's like shut up bro like if you have a small like you gotta clock that shit like no literally I know what you're working with and do something else to make up for it like and he's not so like she's in love with you she's not in love with anyone ever like he's hot he's really hot him like dropping her off in the cab and being like take care of my princess I'm like if someone said that to me I kind of like hated that well yeah I mean it's disgusting it's vile I'm saying but like if that ever happened to me I would be like this is crazy the way they get hit on I'm like if that happened to me in a bar I'd be like get the fuck away from me you freak but then I'm watching the show and I'm like I want it because we're like yeah I dare you I dare you I dare you to approach me wait is three inches a deal breaker? I dated a man with a micro penis and yeah how did it go? and is he in your apartment now? he was very very nice like we had an amazing time together and I was like this is not gonna be a deal breaker for me like lesbians make it work you do other stuff to yeah he was like well it was hard I don't know it was like it was not we didn't have great sexual like I was working up I take a while to like kind of get comfortable with someone but so I was like we could probably make this work but like he was so boyfriend material he ghosted my ass so So hard. Are you kidding? Yeah, after I came to terms with being micro-penis. Ghosted by a micro, that's hard. Isn't that so funny? Ghosted by a micro-penis is a short film. Yeah, literally two years later, he texted me out of the blue. Being like, sorry I ghosted you, and I just went LOL. Like, what? Okay, he probably started therapy or chat GPT therapy and was like, oh, God. I need to make a mention. Or maybe he's an AI. He's an AI. He didn't seem like he was. Christianity? No, he was so sweet. Question mark. He was a Jew for Jesus. Oh, my God. Okay, but they get to the Yankee Stadium. Miranda's like randomly a huge major fan. She's not beating the lessee allegation. She knows the stats. I'm like, where is she learning this? I know, like, what? I'm also loving Carrie being like, I love anywhere you can smoke and drink at 2 in the afternoon. I'm like, she's doing the breakup. Yeah, so well, all of them in sunglasses being like, oh, I'm like, this is what it's about. And they're all sitting like, it's like, sit next to your friend, guys. They're always in a different row. It is, of course, stage picture vibes, right? Yeah, it's beautiful. They have those tickets that you get from the app when you only have like an hour before the game or you're like already in a third inning. You're like, for 12 bucks, you can have rows like 5,200, like A through D, because they're so up there. Wait, can we do this? I want to do that. Yeah, they have those. I want to get a nosebleed. It's the only way I want to carry a talkie, like only the end of the game. Don't think your guys are going without us. We're coming to the game. Take a nap. Who's going to be C&D? You know, we can't do the whole row to ourselves. Come on. It is too fun. Yeah, this and it's fun because then they set the framework for the baseball analogy throughout the whole episode from this basis. And I think that's like the ultimate fun of watching Darren Star play is his amazing use of metaphor. And ultimately, like his. Like kind of campiness in writing where everything is kind of set up as a pun after the fact in even analogy of sex through baseball. And ultimately, we all kind of naturalistic do that anyway. Yeah, I struck out. Yeah, three strikes, Mama. Oh, my God. I need to get back in the game. It's like that's like sports or play and play is sex and sex is sports. And, you know, everything is short. By the way. They're in the stands. Miranda's making the hot dog a prop for her micropenis boyfriends. Oh, right. Carrie's like, how many beers can a girl buy? And then they're all drunk. Carrie's exploring alcoholism. They're all drunk. And the way she's like, and yes, I did use my press pass to go get him because she catches the ball. Right. We go to the next scene. She goes down to meet the new Yankee. Miranda is freaking out because she's a huge Yankee fan. Watching Miranda fangirl. I was like, this is so. No, the fangirl in the Fendi jacket. She does look with the glasses and that jacket. I'm like, OK, that is tea. Do you guys fangirl? Is that a part of your culture? Do we fangirl? Like over anyone? Like when you meet somebody you admire, you're like, so I think you're awesome. We're like, we're like. OK, just me. We're like, well, we do, but we're like. We like compliment everybody. Yeah, we're just like, you look amazing. I'm not going to be like shaky, like, oh, my God. OK, I was being I'm always shaky. Like Miranda. OK, I think. No, no, no. It's like a thing. I think with maturity, you become less of a super fan. I think like having that like level of reserve for someone dissipates with age. Yeah. Yeah. Like in my earlier 20s, I would. That's like when I felt my most starstruck. And maybe it's like the incorporation of just like meeting more people of fame. But also, I just think that you get like so you put people in such a high status. Yeah. Younger. And when you kind of. Go back to layers of the industry or fame, you realize it's a little bit more calculated than that. It doesn't mean as much. I also wonder if like so like social media plays a part in it because it's like your friends now kind of seem like you see your friends like on your screen. It's like everyone, you know, is like on your screen. So it's like I get starstruck any time I see somebody on a real. Yeah. I'm like, oh, my God. That's my friend. That guy I went to high school with. Double tap. Double tap share. Oh, my God. That is me liking my new stories. Yes. Yes. It is so fun to like be sitting next to your friends, see them open up the app and just double tap without watching like all their friends. Oh, my God. Yes, girl. Whatever you need. That's nice. That is nice. This scene has. OK, so we're back at the scene with Miranda and all of them are waiting outside. Meet a new Yankee. The scene has so many beautiful puns in it. Just the way they write is very musical because there's a moment where Samantha is freaking out about the bold of the different baseball players. Right. And she goes, look at the bold on that one. And Miranda's like, I think he's wearing a cup. And she goes, I think it's cup. It's runneth over. She's chomping at the bit. It's like crazy. Like her just going just like sexually harassing. I'm going to suck your cock, buddy. Let me see your crotch. It's like, Jesus Christ. This is why I say they're amazing actors, because their ability to deliver lines like this. That are so ridiculous. So believable. No irony. And it's just like, it works. And I believe you. It would be so hard to get that. And be like, okay, I think he's wearing a cup. Like, what? It's so fun, though. It literally feels like a musical. Like, these lines have a musicality to them. That's a good way to put it. Yeah. I always watch it. It's like, it's just. Which Sex and the City should be a musical. The Sex and the City, the movie, should be into a musical, by the way. Directed by Tina Fey. I've got like a pretty good, like, don't, yeah, that's mine. Don't take it. Don't you dare write a musical. We'll put this, send it to you. You can use it in court. Yeah. Because it's so funny. Because I've got some ideas. That's actually an amazing idea for a musical. Trust me. No, I actually, yeah. Trust me. It needs. End of act one is. Are you familiar with the movie? You'll get there, I'm sure. Wait, the movie shouldn't be a musical. Have us knock on after you watch the first movie. Yeah. Have you watched the movie? I haven't watched any of the movies. That's crazy. Oh, it's blessed. The first movie is literally. She wears the same belt like nine times. It's so good. The first movie, like, makes you sob. It's so good. I'm shaking. And crack up. You should be scared. Okay. I'll watch it. But you guys are the only ones that love the movie. I love. Everybody said talking shit. I love them too. Everybody was like, we pretend they didn't happen. Okay. Are you? Who is that? People need to grow up and get a grip. Get them on the work. The second movie is obviously a disaster from hell. It's terrible. But the first movie is blessed. The first movie is, needs an Oscar. The first thing I ever watched in Sex and the City was Sex and the City, the second movie. And that's my entryway into different times. What a terrible way to start. That's when they go to Dubai? Yeah. Yeah. It's so fun. Well, it's like, do you want to start with the good news or the bad news? Right. Right. That is true. Let's get out of the way. Sorry, we derailed the movie. No. No, no, please. Okay. We're going to cut to our first break, but when we get back, we're going to find out how Carrie caught the big one. Oh, sweet. But not Mr. Big. You know when you put something on and you realize, I bought this in 11th grade and now I'm almost 30? Well, that's how I get my vintage. Right. And it's just like, well, maybe it's time for me to invest in some new spandex. And you know what's better? Better than spandex? No. The underwear I got from Honeylove. Oh my God. I wore this cute dress that I got from my rental service, right? And it was kind of tight and I was like, oh no, thank God I have the Honeylove. It literally goes to here so I can like wear my normal bra. And you know what the problem with so many Spanx is like they end in the middle and then you can see the middle like cut off. No, that's truly hell. It's like literally awful and hell on earth. It's, I know. And it goes all the way to the top. Like it's seamless. It's seamless. It fit perfectly. I felt so good. Like this is gonna be my new one. And the way it's like cut at the bottom, like, you know, some Spanx are like literally like grandma style at the bottom. It's like sexy lace. Like I didn't feel like. It's sexy style. It's sexy style. Sexy grandma style. So shout out Honeylove. I'm so glad they're sponsoring the podcast. Okay, so they are at the locker room and Carrie is running over to meet the new Yankee to ask him out to the Dolce & Gabbana fashion party. He is the hit of the century. She just caught a fly ball. They both are catching a lot right here. She's catching. She's catching tail. That's what I'm loving. Okay. You're on fire. You are. You are. You are. You are. You are. You are. Please, come on. You need a little fur, please. Katrina, Katrina, Katrina. I love that Miranda's like, how? You can't just ask him out. It's like, watch me, bitch. She's like, Yankee. Yankee. I have three beers. I'm the fiercest girl alive. Yeah, she's like, I'm. Would you ask out a guy? Like, would you like? Run down the hall screaming for him. She runs like she has pigeon toe. Yeah, true. Did you notice that? I'm like, her feet are overlapping in crazy ways. Yeah, I forget. Did they have like a moment of eye contact before or now? Yeah, they did. Yeah, because they met. Yeah, I would do that. If I felt like there was a spark. He's so hot. When she's like sad about Big, I'm like, but he's so much hotter than Big. He is so hot. I think everyone Carrie fucks through basically the entire series is hotter than Big. Yeah. It's so interesting. I think she's attracted to the masculine. Yeah. Even though these are more traditionally beautiful men, she always likes the most masculine man in the room. Yeah. And that's how you know it's run by a gay guy. Yeah. I've always felt that. There's something about Big's mouth that like really. It's his mouth as well, his personality. And face. Yeah, he like doesn't, he doesn't do it for me. No. I was an Aiden girl. He would. Yeah, me too. Yeah. I would probably have sex. I would probably have sex with Big anyways. Oh, for sure. I mean, yeah, he's not, I'm not an idiot. Two seconds on it. He's clearly not. But if we're being honest. I would do it. He's clearly got something seriously amazing going on. I would do it. Of course, of course. He's not that tall, so what is the Mr. Big of it all? Right. That's my question. I want to figure that out. Oh, yeah, yeah. Do we know his real life name? Just how big? Isn't he bad now or something? His real, the actor's name? No, like the character. Are you talking about Mr. Big? John. Yeah, John. John. John Big. Bigleton. Six seasons for John. Right. For John to die on a soul cycle or whatever. Oh, no. Oh, my God. That was crazy. Six seasons of two movies, girl. That was crazy. And just like that. Sorry, a Peloton, excuse me. Big died. Yeah, please. So they go on the date or what happens next? Okay, so next what happens, Carrie asks him out. Then they, then we're, and then Carrie is going through the process of going on her first date. She, there's a flash to all the different people in the audience, which is the, you know, this kind of a tool they were using in scene one, where they bring in different people to give in antidotes of their own breakup rules, where there's a woman with an iPad handing out concessions. She goes, have you ever break up with someone? Change your number, change your job, change your location. I love that. Don't mess with those bastards. And then it's like 10 seconds. They kind of don't even set it up well. Change your job. I was like, what was she before concessions? She was a lawyer. She only has one eye, so uh-oh. She's lost her eye. She's a pirate. The way she has seven minutes on screen. She's the only thing I can think about. Like, she's a star. It's also fun that they still, because like, I feel like as the series progresses, we lose that aspect of the- Yeah, the vision was still very much- Of, yeah, of the like little one-off. I know. Like, interview type thing. Well, you can tell the pacing. That was such like a slow pacing moment. It is very Harry Met Sally. I know. Oh, Nora. Also, I just, I can't get this out of my head now. Ever since you said Peloton, I keep saying Pelotonics in my head. I love the Pelotonics. Pelotonics, which is like an acapella group on Pelotonics. You need to write that down. You need to pitch that to Grand Collab. That's so good. That would be a good class. The Pelotonics. The Pelotonics. You guys make zero dollars from it? Yeah. I'm not involved in this at all. I just have a great matchup. You guys should really get lunch. I saw the Pentatonics for Christmas one year, and they were really good. Like, they can sing. They can sing, but I hate them. But you know what? We could use a new thing. I agree. Get them on bikes. Get them on a bike. Acapella. In college, I matched with one of them on Tinder. Which one? The hot one? The guy with the slouchy beanie? The smaller one. Oh. The twang. I think he's also in a slouchy beanie. A twang who can, like, sing down. Yeah. Please. God, they're good. Oh, my God. They are good. God, they are good. Oh, my God. Anyways, sorry about that. No, please. I love watching her get ready, and she, like, puts on this expensive dress going to the Dolce & Gabbana party, and she finds the last remnant's a big, and she goes, we took this on a disposable camera. I didn't realize our relationship was disposable as well. It's haunting. Stop. Again, the musicality. It, like, literally freaks me out. When she, like, goes to the date, and she's like, yeah, I maxed out my credit card for this dress, just in case he's here, and then the way they, like, show her seeing big, and then it's just some random guy, that is how life is. That is the way that, like, you hallucinate people. There's Taylor Swift songs about that. Like, I have, like, a lot of Taylor Swift songs about that. Taylor Swift, like, ran out of coffee shops, being like, oh, my God, that's him. And it's just some man named Mark. And it was actually to sit back. But then it's, like, with the runaway, what I was impressed with was, like, the commitment of her runaway when she thought she saw him, and then, like, ran across the street at the beginning. It's like, I would run, and then I would follow. Oh, which is in the fur. Yeah. Yeah. It's like, I do need to see for sure if it's him or not. But she just left. She left the scene completely. It's like, you have to make sure you're hidden. It's true. And she, she always, it's, it's really, like, this most, like, beautiful analogy of the breakup itself, where, in a way, like, you're always seeing your big, even if, or your big, your breakup, even if they're not there. Like, there's just remnants of them that last for so long. And you're, you're always haunted. And I think she didn't even think which way to go. Like, New York is a whole different beast when you go through a breakup, because. Exactly. By the way, they're everywhere. There's a lot of them with big noses, you know. It's Ghost by Demi Lovato. Are you guys listening to that, by the way? No, I'm still at Skyscraper. Oh, honey. That's a great place to be, but listen to Ghost. She just dropped, like, a new disc of the, of, uh, it's not that she, she has a new album. Yeah, today. You know, I saw a video of her with Joe. She did. Yes. Being hot. Yeah. That's cool. She, you have to get involved with her new album. Yeah. Okay, I'll wake that up. Yeah, like, do believe. Especially, like, it's perfect time, it's for summer. I need to get back into her, because she was with me from the beginning. I watched John Barney. I can't wait for you. I need to get back in. Let us know how you like it. I will. The way you guys are parental figures to me, you're like, the Sex and the City movie is going to change everything. The Demi album. Honey, we got two things you need, all right? Don't worry, everything's going to be okay. We're like, watch the Sex, by the way, it's also, like, so mainstream. I'm like, Amelia would parentify a plant. Amelia would parentify a plant. She doesn't need much, honestly. Someone just pointed her in the right direction. You are my mommy. She will not parentify her parents, though. No. It's the beautiful truth. You can't. You can't. That's mean to them. No, you can't. oh my god so they're at the party and then carrie reveals her second breakup rule which is always lie i love this rule lie lie lie always lie this is a fucking genius always lie yeah what is she lying about um like why are you looking for big yeah yeah it's actually like kind of i found this to be so confusing i've watched this scene three times but apparently so charlotte goes did you see big and she goes i thought i saw him i didn't see him and she basically is telling her truth and then it's actually income she's describing as a lie after the fact which i thought was like a messy way to kind of do the scene it didn't feel because like did she lie like she didn't really even lie so she lied because charlotte was like oh like do you think you might run into big and she's like i hadn't even thought about that oh and then she was like i maxed out my credit card getting ready for this because what if he's here so she's lying about thinking like charlotte like is big there which is beautiful um and then she you know what she gets a first base with a yankee player yeah i think you're kind of cute that is cool but i don't know that is cool that is cool like that is cool that is cool when they kissed because they were like you're kind of cute you're kind of cute that was cool but i was like girl you you ain't ready and you know it no but sometimes you have to jump before you're ready yeah right jump then fall is that what it is jump then fall jump it's kind of like fall jump is this what song is this it's called jump and fall by whom taylor swift oh i think it's from her fearless era and it's a bonus it's before totally before my time well i like love this scene because you guys know kelly ben simone when she's introduced in season three of course she's running through the street yes completely in the street because she runs right past carrie and carrie brings her date into the middle of traffic tickets where we go yeah you're in a three-lane highway girl she can close like i love how she's like she is so fabulous she's so good on date she's like wait i hope we get hit by semi. It's cool how she wears heels the way she does. I know. No one can wear heels that elegantly. No one does it anymore. No, no one does it. In open-toe Manhattan. No one does it. Should we get into little stilettos all the time? If I was a little bit shorter, I would wear heels all the time. Wait, show the girls what you're wearing today. You're Jordan Nike. Trunners. What's trunners? Training and runners. Oh, trunners. And they're a clog. Did you invent that word or that bible? So you hate them. I love them. They just have their truth, which I love. Yeah, they're kind of interesting. I love them. They just have their truth. I love them. Okay. It seems you may have just been clogged. Let me show you your shoes, Evan. They're uncomfortable. They're really beautiful because they're flat on the bottom and they slide. And if you walk on a rock, it will alert everyone in kind of the glass house. White houses but glass. Great. Vanessa Carlton came on stage at Coachella, by the way. Were you guys there? Yeah. We travel so well together. We really do. We work 60 girls. Thousands. Oh, that's mainly our thing. Okay. You do well? Yeah. Well, it's like interesting. Sometimes it's really good, but ultimately you find your times. There's always a low and a high. That vest is bringing out a cockage in you. We usually have the best time. Hey, I miss you without the vest. You licked my shoes without the vest, Evan. We usually have the best time and then on day three, I cry in the street. Oh, sure. Well, yeah. That's fine. We do well because we both we're like introverted extroverts. We need downtime. We're like, bye. We're like, okay, bye-bye. Let's take our nap and then go and get blackout at dinner. Right. You're like, let's be responsible. Nap first, then blackout. Do you guys like going to dinner or what? Oh, yeah. Doesn't it rock? We have the best time in Providence, Rhode Island going to restaurants every night and being like, we're getting apps, entrees, dessert. Yeah, no limits. No limits. No limits. I grew up in a family that it was just the entrees and the water. So anytime I get an app, I'm still like. Yeah, my mom would always just like, we're not getting this app. Which is the worst part of a meal. The entrees, buying for the least. I agree. Boring. No, I would rather get like five apps. Literally, please. Tuna, tar, tar. Tuna, tar, tar. We had tuna every single day for ten days. Oh, good. Yeah, of course. How are your mercury levels? Probably very high. Wait, you guys are going to be on season three of The Pit? You're not lighting on tuna or mercury? You guys do The Pit after Sex in the City. Yeah, of course. We did a Pit episode and people are hating it. Oh, shit. Well, one person said, I love this, do more. And then everybody else was like, I thought you were going to talk about Sex in the City this weekend. I actually watched the episode so I prepared, so fuck you. It is an extreme shift. I know, but we're like, it's under the HBO umbrella. Yeah, it is. And there's girls in it. Yeah, that's what we said. There's female story center. And Dr. Robbie's hot as hell, dude. No, he is. I love him. Even though he's annoying this season. Whatever, whatever. He needs to get better help. Seriously. Sorry. No, no. That brings us perfectly into our ad break. Oh, perfect. I'm kidding. Oh, we've got the brunch where Miranda freaks out because they're all talking about boys. And she's like, can we talk about my palm pad? It is so, I will say it's like really annoying when people are like, can we talk about something else? And it's like, sure. Bring it on. What would you like to talk about that? I know they all sit there for three seconds. Because they were receptive. They were like, okay. No, it's true. She could have. And she's like, I'm going to get the check. It feels good when she runs into her ex from two years ago and freaks out and then like emotionally remembers what Carrie's going through. Yeah, what it's like. Because you do forget. Yeah. It's like, I relate to Miranda in that. Because it's like, you forget what it's like. I'm not sure running into your ex looking like the gayest woman in the United States of America. No, just me. It's happened to me. It's happened to me a couple times. That is crazy. She ran because she's like, oh, he's going to think I'm a lesbian now. Right. It's like, well, yeah. Yeah, did he not when he began dating? Right. Well, she's wearing, I love that scene because she's walking around and says, I'm the only true woman, an adult in New York City. And then she's dressed in. Like a kindergartner. She looks like a little boy in a baseball game. Everyone's like, you're in a gay man bar. He's so beautiful. Oh, right. We haven't talked about Charlotte's whole situation. Which is that she's dating a guy that's perfect. He went to Brown, but he keeps touching his balls. I would just be like, so what's up with your balls, dude? I would be like, you are scratching those balls, dude. I know, but can you imagine Charlotte being like, what's up with your balls, dude? I once went on a date with someone who was like, we drove, it was when I lived in LA, we drove to the Getty, which is at like 4pm. It took 100 hours. The way I'm like, Getty images database, it's where they store all the photos. And we're like, in the car, and I can't help but notice he's like, kind of just like, keeps like scratching his crotch. And I'm like, there's something like going on. And then he got so flustered once we like, finally got there. And like, was like, itching, and like, clearly had something. I don't know what was going on, but he was literally like, just go up there and I'll meet you up there. Oh my god. He was fighting a battle. I was like, okay. He had something going on. I'll see you up there. Sometimes you do have to, sometimes you have to. Just like, dismiss someone and scratch your penis. Yes. Recently I chopped serrano peppers and then scratched. Oh my god. And huge, huge, huge mistake. You did the cinnamon challenge but in a different way. It was like, so shocking and crazy and like, I did some wild things over the sink afterwards. Did you just put milk on yourself? No, I didn't have milk, but I did like, I was like, over the sink with like, cold water. It was like, shocking. Is that painful? Yes. A serrano pepper on your cock and balls? Yeah. It's very essential. Damn. And it's like, I do that accidentally every day and I'm fine. You're being sensitive. Damn. I have a high spice tolerance. I hate spicy food. My dick loves it. It's the only way you can get horrid at this point, honestly. It's good to feel something. It is like, Charlotte should be more direct, but instead she buys underwear and then he freaks out because he's like, I'm not ready for gifts. You're crazy. And she's like, well. He also freaks out. Yeah. The men, the men have no like, what a freak ass. Imagine getting a gift and being like, you're fucking psycho. This is crazy. You're buying me underwear? It is kind of crazy to buy him underwear. Yeah, but you could just be like, that's pretty weird. Like, whatever. Let's fuck. But it's from Barney's. Right. I bet it was nice. Barney's, please. Come on. At the end of the day, Charlotte should have practiced radical truth telling. Yeah. That's true. She should have pushed herself. That's hard for her, though. Yeah. It's hard for all those girls, except for Samantha. Yeah. I will say that relationship only being three weeks. If that happened to me, I would, like, I'd be in a psychosis for two years, but she got over it in a week and a half. What? The Charlotte whole thing? The whole thing. Yeah. We do say, Samantha would say it, but she still hasn't confronted her boyfriend that she's in love with about his tiny dick. That's true. That's true. That I find shocking. Yeah. I mean, especially for her. She is the ultimate size queen. She could have, like, invented a term and is also copyrighted it. And for her to not implement her own reality and rules, and for her to put them to the wayside in order to have an emotional connection, it's kind of it is beautiful, but ultimately it's interesting to see her go against her character in season two because it's clear that they want to set up her own growth arc. Yeah. But then they barely acknowledge her. Like, Samantha does not have she, like, staggers in growth past this point. Yeah. Where they only let these girls, like, grow very incrementally. And it's interesting to start the season two at a high, and then ultimately she just, like, falls into her ways for, like, the next three seasons until she meets the absolute Smith. It's kind of, like, lax when it's, like, by the end of the season Debra and Ava have really figured it out. And then it's, like, nope, they're still the same old girls. Yeah. By the movie, I feel. Sorry. No, it's true. But she does. She finally does. Well, you have a manuscript. Oh, I do. It's really good. I just want to acknowledge this episode came out June 6, 1999, which is my first birthday. June 6? Is that Gemini? It's Gemini. It's Gemini. It's Gemini. It's really good. Because every episode came out on my birthday. So the show premiered on my birthday every year. Oh, that is cool. Wait, that is so aligned. What's your sign? I'm an Aries. What are you guys? I'm Sag. I'm Aqua. That means we're, like, Sag fire. I like that about you. Thank you. Yeah. And then Aquarius, my sister that I like and I'm scared of, she's that, too. My sister is Aries, and she's, like, awesome and also a little crazy. Do you find that you're crazy? That is a part of my story. What's your sister's name? Marissa? Marissa. She's a lesbian. Oh! She's beautiful. Yes! Yay! Oh, my God. It's kind of a chicken or egg. Like, if a girl's name is Melissa, is she born a lesbian or is she growing? Well, careful, because my name is Melissa. Oh, yeah. My sister's Marissa. And how long have you been dodging allegations? A long time. Well, actually, since. I'm the one growing them down. Just when I stopped wearing my extensions and straightening my hair. Oh, wait. Wait, you have that chapter? Oh, yes. That's cool. I want to return to it every single day. Right. She really does. It's beautiful. Well, I started getting blowouts in the last six months, and it's night and day the way people treat me. I will say your hair looks unbelievable. Thank you. Like, wow. It is crazy, the difference. Just the difference of the way that straight men treat you, when your hair is straight and curly or straight and long. It's, yeah. It's this curly? Well, I'm not good at curls like that, so no. It's, like, wavy, frizzy. Like, I don't know how to get them tight. You just don't touch them. So, I have a thing where I really have to touch them. You have a new thing where you love to touch them. Yeah, this is the least. it's been touched but like normally like I'll like do I'm calling it a heatless blowout where I just will take oil and for days just pull my hair and then in like four days it'll be kind of straight okay love but this is fresh out of the shower I don't touch it you need to do your routine heatless blowout heatless blowout takes about six to eight days six to eight days and about two bottles of oil easy it's easy I can plan my schedule around that of course or is there anything you have to do to close out the app she sees big right so yeah so Carrie is finding her own like romantic twist with the new Yankee she's at a bar which I'm finding really hard to believe it's a bar because it's like half punk half men in suits yeah it's not it's not where she would ever be or with a new Yankee but her hair looks really cute she has that one little braid it's looking so cute like she's being sweet she's being sweet but some of her outfits are giving Burning Man yeah and let's burn that man please I do not want to see them anymore the little braid I want to do that but my forehead's just crazy I think you could oh please I think you could do it and I'm actually really sick of you right now because I'm looking at you and I'm like I'm actually really sick of you right now with your big blowout yeah yeah yeah me knowing that you would look really good with the braid your blowout with the heat my heated blowout your heated blowout you know we're anti-heat in this house you know I'm working through giving up heated blowouts we're about to have a heated blowout it is lucky that she does look awesome when she sees him and like him coming up to her and being like I saw you in the paper like that you've never I would've been like yes he's like oh no I know who you are like imagine you're out with Joe Jonas no it's best case scenario and the way he does this and she actually forgets how to breathe yeah that is so real when they go slow I'm like oh my god I know but that's like that does happen no it literally with people who I don't have history with just like someone who I've thought about a lot touches me I'm like yeah they did they did a really good job I know great job guys so much is done in an editing yeah they really understood his truth that was me by the way that was one of my first jobs I was editing for Sex and the City he edited this episode yeah congratulations thanks you know you love what you do I helped a little wait okay so she sees Big she freaks out she kisses the guy in the street and cries and then cries in his mouth in his mouth and she's like please go but she makes it sound like she's about to throw up when they kiss yeah which I found jarring which yeah if I were him I would be absolutely terrified stop that he's like so do you wanna okay alright and then the fake out with the phone call I knew it was gonna be a girl I didn't oh you thought it was gonna be big yeah I did she like freaks out after the kiss and then she runs to the phone booth and sends a call she goes can we meet at our place and then she gets to the diner like Miranda like they are so close they're amazing no like they fought in this episode but then it's like they are there they are the closest sometimes like the more I watch it the more I'm like is Charlotte friends with these girls barely she is rich she is like not in the group it really is in the way that Carrie I'm with the camera the way that Carrie Carrie Miranda are the best friends yeah but Carrie and Samantha also have a very special yeah and then Carrie and Charlotte are kind of like random tea well there was yeah Carrie and Charlotte are kind of like like not that close yeah well you have like relationships for different reasons and ultimately like the whole premise of even like dating like Carrie is dating the new Yankee because it's a validation of dating a hot new young thing but not because she's necessarily romantically attracted to him and sometimes it feels like her subjugation like in the friend group itself is or even like her relationship with like Charlotte she's like this hot young thing in her way and I find that sometimes like the propification of a friend I don't think the core three fours as much like that but you do see that interchangeably and we have that in our own lives so like there's some friends I'm just friends with because they're hot is it me? holy shit I actually don't relate to that no and it's not good I wish my friends were a little less hot honestly you have friends that you're like I don't like you but you're hot and definitely like earlier parts of my life absolutely okay cool but it's like because of the status of the friendship but I don't I'm like I've let that go of course yes yes yes girl I have a podcast for a reason well it's a whole acknowledgement it's like if you acknowledge the social climbing ladder people get upset because they realize there's a ladder to climb and that's like a big part of even sex in the city in general it's like you can deem part of the reason that Carrie even wants to be with Big is because he's of higher status and it's Carrie just tracing him for the validation of being with someone who's so perfect and professional and has like it's amazing at finance which is the thing she struggles with most is being able to act chill in a relationship which she struggles with most like there's so many things that Big validates for Carrie that it's hard to always like decipher between the lines of like does Big just provide status because he's still cool while also having this very professional job or is it the aspect of like actual love quotes on quotes whatever that can mean I think it changed like I feel like it starts you know the latter the actual love comes yeah because then it's like she's doing the opposite because then it's like through it all like still chasing Big is kind of demoting her because of how much everyone around her has seen her go through with this man so that is that's interesting I know it's like yeah she's chasing status and then like lowering status I feel by ultimately ending up with him to pursue the bachelor because I mean even her like chasing of the Yankee is a similar inclination of her always chasing the wanted bachelor right like Miranda is like you're supposed to rebound with a fugly guy what are we doing right don't waste your rebound on this guy he's a cat that's true you should marry him exactly oh girl oh girl because like season one episode one Big is in they're all in the club and Big Carrie sees Big and goes he's way too high status for me I can't approach him what would a guy like that want with a girl with me because he's surrounded by women he's coming through in a limo he's disgusting gross but again what's up but guys I can't stress this enough I would not kick that man out of bed just to wrap up the episode they like sit down at their spa and Miranda's like I ran into my ex Eric and I'm sorry for being a bitch and then Carrie's like thank you I'm broken but the way and we introduce rule three rule three is you need your friends you need your friends yeah the most important part of a breakup is your friends after you lie to them after you lie rule number two always lie to your friends lie lie lie half life science rule two lie rule three be a friend be a friend I mean like these rules I got new rules I got them that really is a great poll do a that is really is should we do our famous segment we're gonna cut to our second ad break but when we get back we are gonna get into girl starting a business can seem like a daunting task unless you have a partner like Shopify they have the tools you need to start and grow your the light and slowly the things you love begin to find each other a jacket meets a dress a hoodie slips beneath a blazer an old cap finds a new scarf because you don't simply step into the season you create it layer by layer until it finally feels like fall find fall your way at Ross oh we're back with the girls oh my god and we have a question for y'all serious girls what girl are you oh girl you will you go cause I'm like I'm like I am can I be a combo whatever feels good for you is that allowed there's no rules there's no rules I am like 75 Jessa 25 Hannah okay are we talking girls you can do whatever feels good you said what girl are you but you can do sex in the city too oh okay well I'm okay sorry my god no problem no no no you said girl like you can imagine yeah of course I am I do I do feel very strongly related to Carrie yeah I can see that it's a curl pattern it's a curl pattern and the annoying behavior and the kind of not learning your lesson thinking everything about you that kind of thing all the bad parts of Carrie I really identify with yeah I think I do think think i'm a hybrid of of samantha and miranda why actually miranda miranda oh that's beautiful oh my god miranda miranda anyways um samantha was like samantha so i used to want to be like in my early 20s and then in my later 20s actually became like her like she worked she was like she's like she's work forward she's like girl forward and she's fuck forward and that was like kind of my tea for a while while she's a good girl and she never has a boyfriend which i don't ever have a fucking boyfriend but which is of course no problem and then miranda is like you know is a bit like touch beyond repair and you know is a bit odd and i think i i am speckled but also like smart like it's like she's like yeah like you would be the one at the diner that would be like like i feel like you'd be like okay like you got you can't rebound with this guy but then also be like true it's true when you would call true can y'all shut up it's really like that i'm like can you stop talking about sex in the city yeah and i can be annoyingly like miranda can be like she can suck the fun sometimes when she's like well like she's like rules you know like i like i love miranda so much more in this reason what's that you love fun i do love fun but i like fun with in its truth within it's like i love i love yeah i love some nights by fun of course some nights you you guys want to ask him with me oh yeah girl what girl are you no i felt miranda in this and in the same subsequent way where it's like sometimes when people are just talking about something for so long i will be like we have to change the subject it's just just people will drag on to something for way too long it's annoying it's so annoying especially for years at the diner we can't it feels like groundhog day she's like we gotta flip it up a little bit i know but then it's also at the end of the day it's about me and it has rarely anything to do with them and i kind of have to find a truth of my own through a hard circumstance and situation yeah so i definitely will see myself as a miranda this episode and i feel like sometimes i like i love numbers in a way miranda does you should be a therapist by the way no and a scientist yeah it is okay i guess i'm realizing too it is like this episode specific like oh is that what we're doing well no no no we just have to be general that's what we do we just have to be oh that's what we do we did like hybrids like is that annoying yeah no everybody always does hybrid but i want to know what hbo girl you are too like hannah if she if she tells you you have to tell i'm just a hannah i'm like shisharni yeah i am like i am like i do have marnie t but i get a little shisharni i'm not really hannah no not well no not really no and it's not relationship is it that it's like i'm not really hannah i'm not really hannah i'm not really hannah i'm not like is it circumstantial to race relationship where you feel no i'm not i've never had a boyfriend never been in a relationship no but like even this even this friendship this is a relationship it is a relationship exactly yeah but do you like do you feel that you all like your personality alters per relationship like are you sometimes like are you the marnie and you're the hannah or like like oh i see like from person to person does my well i feel like we're the yeah i'm pretty like solid in my i'm a little bit more of a so like yeah so you're saying like am i like hannah with someone marnie with someone yeah i know i'm pretty like i'm kind of marnie t which sucks but no yeah you are you are you're constant i would say i am more of like a someone who changes based on the person not really a little bit i feel like i'm always made to be marnie but then in certain dynamics i get to be hannah yeah i mean you would book marnie obviously i mean yeah you would look you get to be hannah yeah like i can just be messy instead of like okay in charge of everything i see i'm being uptight when she's like i'm uptight because you make me uptight that's how i feel i do think you're mostly shosh though yeah like shosh i love a show it's like 90 of population yeah that's we've done we're literally a census for this kind of question there's a lot of shows in the world what girl are you in general i mean i've feel like a shoshana i ultimately i feel like a hannah as well like shoshanas are like the the unblocked artists of the world ultimately i kind of sometimes feel like even like a lena donna yeah like alina i'm not a hannah i'm alina but that's only my good days just to wrap this up wait but we didn't ask you yeah girl what girl am i i'm also miranda only because i never have a girl i'm also miranda i'm also miranda i'm also miranda i'm also miranda i'm also miranda i have boy t to share so i'm like guys can we talk about this is so shocking to me my ipad planner i thought you were engaged same so my heart like if i'm engaged i thought you did divorce no you gave our young bride engaged energy literally i think i i think i never got over my mother's divorce and i carry that with me so that's why i act like a divorcee can i ask how two me too yeah oh how old i am now the divorce i'm two i am two i said that they got divorced when i was two but i'm 28 now so it's been 26 years 27 oh my god what are you guys i'm six six i'm 31 i'm 35 i am that's beautiful yeah everybody i know who's 31 figured something out no i'd rather be my 30s i am happy 31 is younger than 29 by the way it is i'm like so sick of this i'm so i think i will like find my stride in my 30s you will you also you have a problem with that you have a problem with that you have a problem with that you have pretty good stride right now. I was going to say, from where I'm standing, you know everything. We're in your office. Yeah. You know everything about college. We don't know anything. You know everything about Dua Lipa's book club. Seriously. That's like the news of only two things. Right. Everything. He knows everything. Dua Lipa's book club. And you had really informed takes on this episode and we just screamed and sang. Here's the thing. I've been here for three years. If you were here for three years, you'd be in a completely different space. I guess. You'd be shocked. All I brought to the table was Pelotonic. I've been at the restaurant for three years. And the finale of that one is good. Let's close out with our final segment. Let's get carried away. Well, don't be a bitch. I'm not being a bitch. I'm just being myself. So in this segment, we will do a hot take. Maybe we talked about an episode already, but you might have a culture in general or about the specific episode that Millie and I will lead and you guys, you feel it feels good to you. Okay. You can always do what you feel. You can even not do anything. Okay. But ultimately, I'm getting carried away with this week the concept of people flirting without the intention of sex. People are truly like, and it's sometimes I understand like a a mother of two. Sometimes she has to flirt to survive. Like gay guys sometimes flirt as almost like a sport and activity because they are so many people are like seeking constant validation. It's not necessarily the flirt and pursuit of romance or sex, but in the pursuit of self-validation. And ultimately, I understand like some people the act itself. It does this really so much. It's so much dopamine and it's fun. But ultimately, I think about the person on the other side of that because they're they can be confused by mixed messaging. Do you know how hard it is to pick up any kind of messaging in this world? Hard, difficult. This is the bad. I so disagree. No, and you're allowed to take your space for that. You get carried away in the opposite direction. I'm carried away in that this is my carried away. I think that the only like it is really sad that you're expected to like stop flirting once you're in a relationship or if you don't want to have sex with someone. Like I think flirting is like the most important thing and the most important type of communication in style of communication there is. Like I think it is what makes the world go round. It is how I flirt with every single person. It's true. Doesn't matter what gender, what age, if I want to fuck them, if I don't want to fuck them, if I hate them, if I love them. Like the baseline of communication for me is flirt. And I didn't never thought I was a flirt until Melissa started pointing it out. This is Marty to everyone. I'm wearing a face like he's walking down the street. Hey, handsome. Hey, handsome. Hey, handsome. He doesn't like saying hey, handsome to someone. No, it's all her big. You're polite. Hey, handsome. Exactly. And he has like a little like hair flip. Hey, handsome. No, flirtation is, I understand it's fun and it's game, but some people and it's maybe Who hurt you? Thousands. No. Thousands. And by the way, I'm someone who's been hurt. No, of course. Ultimately, it's like if I have a crush on someone and they're flirting with me, it's hell on earth. You just have to say, are you flirting? No, I have to. You have to be upfront. Are we dating? Are we fucking? Are we best friends? Are we something? Childish Gambino? Is that a Dupa Leap song? Anyone? That's Dupa Leap. That's a rap song by Donald Glover, Childish Gambino. That was really good. Thank you. Yeah, sure. Wait, what are you getting carried away with? You guys are giving amazing points on flirting. I'm getting carried away with the fact that there is absolutely no way to enjoy a baseball game except getting blackout drunk. Yeah, yeah, yeah. That's rule number one. That's why they have like the alcohol sold in a bowl in a slushy format for $30. Like, I would not. My friend is having her birthday party at a Mets game and it's like, I'm only going knowing I'm getting blackout that night. Like, if I was going to go sober to the ball game, I might as well stay home. No. You can watch it on TV or just like, don't watch it at all. The only fun thing about a baseball game is open air while blue alcohol. Open air while blue alcohol. Put that in your Instagram bio. That's gorgeous. And that's on that. Wait, but you're, I have to disagree with that. Okay. Okay. Well, because inherently baseball is like slightly boring. They know that. But it's considered America's pastime because it's a mechanism to pass time. So it's about your intention. Knowing everything. Like, Jesus Christ. No, it's like, why popularity baseball? It's like the first major sport in America. Yes. But because if it's pastime nature, like people needed to figure out something to pass time with and the amalgamation of like baseball becoming popular is because it was so easy. I mean, through, like this indication of radio for people to like, really like get into the sport itself as somebody. on electronics. The baseball doesn't do it for me. As a screen, as an iPad, baby. As an iPad, baby. Also, we've like figured out a lot of new ways to pass time. Like my new pass time is. The last Mets game, I played Candy Crush during it. Like if I'm gonna. It's out, it's out. Yeah, I think. But wait, bring us home. What are you getting carried away with? I'm getting carried away with like breaking my own rules at the prospect of hanging out or kissing a boy. Like, you know, you have like, I'm gonna be good this week. I'm gonna do X, Y, Z. And it's like all those rules go out the window if like a boy is like, do you want to hang out? Do you know what I mean? It's like, what is wrong with. I'm like, oh no, I'm free. I have like no self-control. I'm like, oh, a handsome man wants to like maybe kiss. I'm like, yeah, that's fine. I'll have 600 cocktails with you. It's opening night of your show. I'm free. Yeah, no, it's not a big thing. To like stop doing that. Yeah. That's probably maybe like while you're single. And then me too. Oh my. Evan. Don't yell at my fucking friends. Seriously. And let me tell you, it doesn't happen that often. That's not why you're single. Boys, don't really be texting. No, but it's my truth though. It's hard. Because it's like always available. You like the availability of it. I don't think that that's his. I don't think that's true for you. Not that I'm always available, but I'm just like, I will be like, oh, I'm not going to behave X, Y, Z. Like, you know, because I want to. You make promises to yourself. Yeah, and I break my promises because of like. Because of like, I want to kiss. I want to kiss. I don't even want to fuck. I just want to kiss. I obviously want to fuck, but like kissing rocks. Making out is awesome and cool. The other side of that though is like you do have to like. Like when you. When people that you want to kiss show up, like you do have to make time. It's like you have to meet the moment. Right. So like there are going to be plenty of weeks in your life where there's no one texting you. And those are good weeks. And I know those weeks deeply well. Me too. I live there. Also, Billie Eilish wrote Ocean Eyes about you. Oh my God. Oh my God. You are so. I am absolutely taken by you. You are such a flirt. I know. I was going to say, what the hell? You used to say that to her. This is fucking bullshit. I mean, come on. It's crazy. Yeah. Your eyes are Ocean Eyes. Thanks. But you all have blue eyes and I'm the brunette. Yeah, and I think. He's got those Kelly Clarkson hazel eyes. And Dua Lipa is short. Y'all, thanks so much for being on the pod. Wait, wait, wait. I did it. Mine was just. Wait, wait, wait. It was just an antithesis to yours. Oh, okay. Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah. Okay, collab. Thank you guys so much. Collab. Okay, collab. Collab partnership with Evan for that take. Oh, where can the people find you? Basically at my house. Mexico, Pile of Carmen. You can find me at It's Marty Miller. It sounds like just tell them where to be, they'll show up. Yeah, exactly. We'll come. We'll be at dinner. Yeah, we love Cancun. You can find me at Missy.Macintosh. No way. No way. No way. No way. I'm the Macintosh. It's a loud and invisible A. Imagine McDonald's. Grow up. Seriously. Thank you. That's amazing. Yeah, find us. Kiss us. I'll break my rules for you. Find us, kiss us.
