Sex and the City S1E12: "Oh Come All Ye Faithful" with Kay Poyer

The Girls Re-watch podcast analyzes the Season One finale of *Sex in the City*, focusing on key emotional and cultural themes. The episode centers on Carrie’s attempt to meet Big’s mother at church, which reveals a deep cultural divide between Jewish and WASP traditions around family introductions and relationships. This moment is framed as a powerful example of miscommunication and emotional vulnerability. Samantha’s journey with a man who has a tiny penis becomes a symbolic exploration of how rigid expectations around sexuality can shatter personal confidence. The episode also highlights the significance of female friendship, especially in moments of crisis, like when Carrie and Miranda share a heartfelt conversation in a church pew. The podcast notes how the show reflects broader societal issues—such as gendered expectations, religious guilt, and the silence around body image—through its characters. The humor in scenes like the bathroom coke party underscores how LGBTQ+ communities create intimacy through shared rituals and sisterhood. Ultimately, the episode is celebrated not just for its entertainment value, but for its authenticity in portraying the complex, often overlooked realities of women’s lives, especially in relation to love, faith, and self-worth. The show’s legacy lies in its ability to blend personal drama with cultural commentary, making it a timeless reflection of 1990s–2000s social dynamics.

And then they have their heart to heart for you, which I think is really powerful because when two girls talk in a pew, it is really important. Yes. I do think that there is something magical about letting your home girl walk into her destruction in the house of school. Welcome back to Girls Re-watch! A podcast about girls. TV and girls on TV. I'm Amelia Ritalard. And I'm Evan Lazarus. And today, we are joined by such an exciting guest. She's straight off the plane from Texas. Oh my god. I know. Guys, freak out right now. It's K. Poyote! Oh my god. Thank you so much for having me. I'm so excited to be here. Thank god you're here. Thank god. Someone had to be here. The presence was left dead. This building is completely empty. I didn't really expect that. Ever since 9/11. Right. Oh god. Which god, what was that like three weeks ago? They're doing summer Fridays. It is always empty here. And I'm like, this is expensive. It seems kind of really peaceful and nice though. I'm like, we should be housing people here. Sure. Somebody. I mean, give them a corner. Oh, please come on. The ping-pong table. That's a king bed. Beautiful. Exactly. That's good for your back, you know? I notice you're turning at least one in the world. Trade Center is in two. Like a hi-hat. I know. There's so much of convention. Maybe like what is it called? Like the baby baby of it, where you like have to check, like swipe your card to get in. And it's like most of the construction workers who stay there. Yeah. Love it. You know, that'd be beautiful. Right. Yeah. What's we could do with all the gargie? We could have people-- What's it called? What's it called with a corporation owned to town? I'm getting a term wrong. It's good. We sort of ride it off bad. More motel sixes in Manhattan. I've always got that finally. Someone said it. Let's do it. We're so excited to talk sex in the city today. We are at our season one finale. Oh my god, it kind of flew by. I know. We've been doing what? This three or four months? Well, it would be three months because, you know. Okay, 'cause math. Yeah. Because the class is working, it breaks down. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Actually a little bit less. Okay, yeah. Everyone really get into the-- Um, this episode is called, "Oh, come all ye faithful." And guys, it's upon once again, of course. [LAUGHTER] But this is famously the episode where Carrie finds out that big goes to church every Sunday with his mother and Carrie's like, "I want to meet his mom." And big's like, "I don't want to introduce you." Then Carrie shows up anyways. And then, of course, things go awry. Carrie realizes maybe big. Doesn't see her as the one in the way she wants. And then-- Samantha has a big problem with something small. Yep. And then Miranda, what's going on with her? She runs into Skipper again. 'Cause she cannot stand. She doesn't really have, like, a clear arc. So they have, like, a thing-- So Skipper run on and off. Okay. He's, like, a young Sim. Yeah. And she's like, "I can't right now." She, like, doesn't want to be a cougar. Yeah, but then she keeps finding herself being, like, Skipper's nice and hot. And this weird Catholic guy with guilt is pissing me off with his showers. Sure, sure, sure. I like, it's better he showers than not, but we can get into it. Please. And then what's Charlotte's deal? She's going to a healer because she's, like, Samantha's going to get married before I do. No, I'm the girl who's going to get married first. Oh my god. Yeah. Yeah, she's dealing with the reality of possibly becoming an intel. Yeah. And she's not taking your life. No. I mean, god. She had to visit a woman with chickens. Oh my god. I had enough of you, those. Please. Oh, yeah. You know, if you're a woman with chickens? Unfortunately. But fortunately for them, actually-- They have, like, a really early circadian rhythm. Do you know anybody who will keep kitchens in their backyard, chickens in their backyard? I grew up with chickens in the backyard. No. And when mom had that vibe, she did. It was, like, exactly that vibe. Fresh eggs. Yeah, we did. That's crazy. Yeah. I mean, not to skip ahead. But how often does that egg not have a yolk? I've never experienced it before. I've never seen it. Yeah, no. I think that's, like, a curse. I think that is like-- I think they were being absolutely dead serious. Yeah. No. I've got a double yolk, which I know is, like, one in-- Two has a-- Does that mean two husbands? Please, I get it. We're going to hope so. OK, Paulie. Why not? We're going to sleep in the middle of, yeah. We've heard of sister wives, but how do you-- And what about a party egg? No. I think that means she-- Oh, that means she-- that means what? You die in seven days. That's right. Were you going to H.E.B. but not the egg section? You know, H.E.B. hadn't even hit us yet, girl. Oh, my God. I've never been inside an H.E.B. Ever? No, I've done bucky's. I did not ever do H.E.B. It's not a doll, so yeah. I think it is-- I think the infection has spread far enough now. No, no, yo. It's not an infection. It's a cure. It's just blood. [LAUGHTER] OK, let's get into the episode. The episode kind of starts off with this carry voiceover about how nobody in Manhattan is religious. And like Miranda found literally the last Christian alive, which is cool. Sure. Which is like, OK, well, now we're kind of in a place where religion is back in a huge way. Genzy men, one in five, are going to church every Sunday. Is that true? Is that a real statistic? Yeah. That's horrifying. Yeah. OK. I hear this, but I don't see this. Maybe that's just how that works. But we live in our bubble. I ain't listen, right? But I always curious what they-- They're saying men go to church, but is that once in a blue moon? How are they synthesizing the data? One in five, men go to church weekly. And they're going alone. Well, I guess they're going there to-- The next church. But this is Genzy men, you're saying. Yeah, the thing is, Genzy men are like red-pilled, and they're like the only place I can find woman who just want to serve me is the church, so this will be my new bar. So they're going to church. They're looks-maxing. No, not Novembering for the whole year. I finally Googled Clavicleer today. Clavicleer today. Clavicleer today. Clavicleer. What do you think it's gippin'? It's not what I thought. He looks like he could be a Disney Channel star. He looks like a little boy. Yeah. He could just be a little boy that you could find on the tree. He looks like he could be in Jesse. He looks so-- I love how deeply-- I do love how deeply depressed he looks. Yeah. That on the inside of his body. Well, honestly, you can tell he uses Trotinoan, but he also has a terrible inner life. Yeah. And while Trotinoan and Math grow. Oh, God, please. And apparently, Gino, I don't know. Oh, go to Lise. It's here. I'm telling you. Yeah, but-- I just found out about his face. He's doing what? Well, going to church and Malat times. All right. It's a special interest. Were you Christian growing up? So my parents, we were at like APS until I was like 13. And then they tapped into church. That is so reverse. And it was too late for me. But then now I kind of like like Jesus has like a home girl. Do you know what I mean? Well, no. Like ironically. Yeah, yeah. Like she's real, but she's not real. But she's real for me. As somebody whose Instagram bio used to be Jesus is my home boy, it's too close to home. Sure, sure, sure, sure. You're still kind of recovering from that. I'm still recovering from it. Oh, I'm really connecting with the guy. I mean, I have to shower. I'm like, he's not wrong. Sure. I feel like. Luckily, I was never Catholic. OK. So you know, what does Carrie says closet presbyterians? The idea of like being like in the closet about being a presbyterian period. I wish I knew to like the different emanations of Christianity. Oh, there's so many. There's Lutheran. There's Methodist. There's Mormon Baptist. Do Mormons count? They're like their own. They just added their own third book. Well, it's kind of like what Christianity is to do to yourself. I don't think so. They have like a whole like alien, it's more like what? It's like Christianity and Scientology. Well, to us, Jesus is an alien in this way. And I don't think they do the cross either. Girl, you'd be obsessed with the book of Mormon Soundtrack. So I dislike Mormonism and musical theater. So I think that would like-- But when you put it together, it kind of reverses kind of-- Is that a zero? It's a double negative. I'm not a football dude to that. OK, yeah, let me know. Just to reminder, there are no guns in New York City. So-- Well, yeah, I left mine on the counter in my apartment when I left. So gunless in New York. I did a little digging on-- Reddit.com, a place I don't frequently visit. Just to see what the people were saying. Six years ago, Anita Newport said Samantha breaking down in the bathroom about James Dick is hilarious. And then flat underscore sprinkles, 75. I'm glad you found that. Go for it if we did not have her POV, real low. It is something to cry over. It happened to me. Oh, honey, that's awful. Well, Anita Newport's back, and she has something new to say. She said, oh, honey, that's awful. Vehicle, certain 865 said, I died laughing because Ben there, too. It's always the best ones, too. LOL, LOL. And then another person, MEB, said, I love their outfits. This is on NYC Influencer Snark. Yeah, of course. Of course, of course. I just thought it was funny that these people are on Reddit, like, thank God we finally got a storyline about Tiny Dick. Right. I needed this representation in the media so bad. And finally, I have it, which is a reminder of how important this show is. I don't really tell this point, how many Tiny Dick's were even in the culture. The women were suffering alone. Silently. In 1999, a woman were like, he has this Tiny Dick, I have no one to talk to about this. Yeah. Well, this was even 98. Oh, fuck. Because I feel like this becomes public knowledge right now. I feel like the first time, you know, you get a hoe at home and she finds out you have a Tiny Dick is kind of over. Well, Samantha's fault for not catching a print. Well, do you know she's classically drained? apparently she's not. I mean, I don't think the science was there at the time. I think it was kind of more of like a fear-to-wind tuition thing and she was in tuition. The science, but I'm catching the print. Was it around in the 1900s? No, it wasn't and I will tell you, I have been religiously catching print since I've learned the method. Oh my god. That's why you were in a Rosemary. It all makes sense now. So God actually my homegirl guides me to the way I do what I mean. Okay, so I just think it's beautiful that now we've kind of gotten to a place where with micro penis the conversation has already been had. Sure. Like it's not a one-on-one situation where we're like, oh no, I feel bad for our friend. We already know the beginning middle and end of the conversation around a micro penis, which is girls being like, am I okay with it? Am I not? It's okay either way. It's amazing for three inches and there's a beginning middle end. Does that count as micro? I think that's just like unfortunate. Yeah. I think micro is like it's kind of an untenable. Like penetration is out of the question. Right? My gross like an inch and a half. Yeah. This is tiny. It's like the difference between being like legally a little person and being five foot one. Well, they're finally asking the question, does size matter? And so far, no, for Samantha, but it's really breaking her heart. She's crying a lot. Well, then it is it is not for the point. Yeah. She keeps stating it. I think it definitely does matter. Yeah. Well, it's it's ultimately for Samantha so much of her relationships are based in sex. So for her to have the sacrifice that some people sex doesn't matter as much. If Charlotte was in a situation, she'd be okay. Charlotte doesn't give the vibe that she has from my first impression of this series. She doesn't give the vibe that she has ever had sex right behind the dark. Yeah, fully. Meanwhile, she's just kind of like a flat surface. Meanwhile, episode two, the series, she's thinking about anal. It's okay. So I need to go back and tap it. She's pondering anal while she's considering, you know, she's like, I don't want to be the up the butt girl. But you can be an up the butt girl in 1998. Now, it does not leave you, I guess so. Everyone at my high school, the girls would do anal first to keep their virginity intact. Publicly, like this would be shared like page like everybody knew page did it in the like frequently. Like she was like known for this or this was like a one time incident for her. This was like he wants to hook up. I don't want to lose my virginity. What's she rewarded for it? I mean, with a good time. We'll have to find out when she enters the kingdom of heaven and we don't. We're still waiting on the results of that one. I don't know. I think God knows a loophole when he sees that. Oh, absolutely. He knows a hole, doesn't he? Well, he put two of them there hurry. So let's not help wonder. We open on Thomas, John Anderson, an up and coming playwright and Miranda hooking up. But immediately after coming, he's like, I'll be right back. I got to go shower. He's coming and he's running to the shower, please. I love Miranda when she goes, oh, the nuns. Yeah. I have to say, I do think I would kill myself in this time. I do think that the running to the shower after would make me suicidal. Well, her being like, so it's starting to feel like me. I'm like, so the first time it would happen, I would stop him right there and be like, so are you mad at me? It wouldn't even have been a question of, are you mad at me? It would have, I think the question for me would have been like, should I jump now? Like, I don't know. I don't know why that's so humiliating to me. I gotta go shower. You're like, okay, I gotta go find a window. Yes. Like, I'm literally looking for which window and it's open opens. I don't know. It's too much for me. Is the joke? She is a lesbian in real life, correct? She's bi. She's bi with a woman. Right. Yeah. She's bi. Cynthia Nixon's bi with a woman right now. She's mainly a politician. Well, not even kidding. You're not kidding. This is not a joke. Well, it kind of, it's a joke because she didn't win. Okay. A big part of being a politician is ultimately winning. That's like the only job that you have. After that, there's kind of like nothing real. Yeah, it just feels very like they should have just written her as a lesbian from the beginning of this. But maybe I need to tap it. But you're in 1998. We didn't have the science back then. Short hair. Okay. She does immediately get lesbian allegations in like the third episode. I was going to say I thought at this point in history, short hair just equals lesbian. I kind of, no, baby, that's just my half cultural figures. Okay. And I am thinking them through my hand. I'm like, well, they are all lesbians, though. Ultimately, she wasn't a lesbian back then. She was a lawyer. And there's a difference. Okay. That's why she had the short hair. It's because she was in a male dominated industry. Sure. Okay. Wait, I'm trying to. Who are? Oh, Halle Halle. Halle Barry. Halle Barry. Short hair. Okay. Straight woman. Ellen. Lesbian. What cost? Rosie O'Donnell. I'm just living lesbians a little longer. And like when did Rosie have short hair? Not in the 90s. Oh, I don't know where to have short hair. I think she's short hair now. Yeah. I can't even bring her face into my mind. I'm not going to. I know who she is, but she's one of those people who I'm not looking directly at her. Were you born in this century? I was. Okay. Yeah. But like, I know who she is. It's just the face doesn't stick at all. I think that's I think that's okay. I think so too. I think most of them are like that. Yeah. If it's not immediately in front of me. She's done so much. She has done a lot. She is historically important. It's okay, but it's also important. Sure. I mean, when it becomes important, I think I'll know. Hello. Come on, tap into that. It was just a healthy relationship with knowledge. I know. It just comes and goes. I don't need to be hard on myself about what I do and don't know. Is that healthy? I think that's going to be like a problem. In a certain situation. I think you're perfect. And don't even worry about it. Thank you so much. Um, yeah. Yeah. Okay. So we have this initial setup where Samantha goes in her first day with a guy with a tiny piece before she knows. She's ultimately has this amazing sequence where she says, usually the only two lines I say to someone is put it in me and then can you leave my house and now she's having full-on conversations with someone. She said, I didn't know I could talk to men. They she's only ever said, give it to me or go home. And I said, you your ability to read lines like this is amazing. She there is something really magical in that it does. She almost feels and again, I this is truly my first watch of this show. She seems like somebody who was plucked from like the best written porn I've ever seen and put into a show that wants to be serious, which I think is beautiful. The Chloe Tariya facts. Yes. Wow. The Chloe chariot that not making her like swallow bottle cocaine and like shit on herself. That was crazy. That was quite crazy. I heard the crew of you for you gave her a standing ovation after that scene. So I think it's shit. I'm not going to lie to you unless I was the most paid person in that situation, the clapping would have done nothing for me. I just like usually the crew's already standing for me. I think she needs to go on a killing tree. She spit up a loob because when she's finally spits the ball of cocaine up, it's the thickest strain that's been I've ever seen. Yeah. Well, it's almost rope like it's probably the loob that she used to get it down. Yeah. Okay. That's what I was hoping for. Otherwise, or girl. I'm worried about her. I mean, but also she's a special talent otherwise. I think she just certainly just started bringing a gun and maybe this is me being compared to she's disturbing a gun to the reading table. It's the fourth time you've brought up guns today. So you did it the first time. And that's what I got it to. Right. Yes. And so Samantha's in love. Question mark explanation point. Yes. The four girls are at the bar and Samantha's like I went on a five-hour lunch day and Carrie is like, I mean, big used to be like that. And then she and then she reveals she hasn't even fucked the guy. She usually fucks the guy within 24 hours of meeting him. So to hold off and be in love with that is shocking. But it is like she listened to Charlotte's advice of like, never fucking first time. Well, it's kind of confusing because episode before this is her edging for two weeks. She's on a celibacy journey, right? She went on a celibacy journey. Yeah. For two whole weeks. Yeah. And no. And again, and like, she's still on it, apparently, please. Well, I mean, technically, if you can't feel it, it doesn't count. Which is exactly where the is. Is it is it penetration or is it orgasm? It's a real question. It is penetration. Otherwise, most women are celibate. Okay. Sure. So you can, okay. So coming is about coming is a lot. I don't know. That seems like another loophole. No, you can be celibacy is you can have sex with yourself. Give us that break celibacy. What? So okay. It's any coming at all break celibacy. Oh, I didn't know that. No, no. That's what I'm asking. Even it's formed as a question. Well, I think if you were to ask like a nun, she would say no. So it's who's definition of celibacy? Are we going by? Right. Because of course, the nun in the pit got gotten a real season. So it's like, what does celibacy look like for her? It's like, it's, it's, it's about person by person basis clearly. Right. It's sometimes it's about lying. No. Sometimes it's about saying one thing and doing another. And maybe celibacy was a friend to me along the way. Yeah. Now let's see you guys have reactions to the scene of her meeting him at the jazz night. I thought that was like quite an odd like first meeting where she's like, why is she? alone at a jazz bar sipping wine. - Is this a '90s? - Is that just like what people did before Instagram? - I think so. I've done it once, not alone. I do think alone, so that alone does, I do think alone at a jazz bar is, I'm trying to have sex. - Yeah. - It's like when I'll do a celebrity. - I don't think so. It's like a very, have you been to a jazz bar? It's like surprisingly sexually charged. - Sometimes you walk into a bar and it becomes a jazz bar and you don't necessarily expect that. - Yeah. - And it is kind of an assault on the sense. - Exactly. - Because the sexual energy immediately, I think it kind of makes perfect sense for her. - No, not the bars I'm going in. When I start playing jazz and bars, I go to people are fleeing. - There is one jazz bar in like- - You're the word fiction? - No, not fiction. In Manhattan, that is what you're describing. But we know about a place that I used to host an open mic where they would do jazz every night and it was the least sexual, it was a A-sexual jaz-n-a-everything. - I wish. - I wish it was an open mic. - Let's get down off the street. - Okay, well, so the thing about it is that it's an old guy kind of horny. I think young people can't do a horny. I think we're too far gone. But I do think this makes perfect sense, I think actually for her to be there alone. She, I think in her mind, maybe something we don't hear in the script is that she wanted to fucking old guy that night. But she found something real and sad, which is kind of beautiful. - You know what, you're changing my beat, my tone. - Yeah, until obviously the penis, you know. - Well, it's not as beautiful. - Yeah. - Yeah, maybe it's like a kind of an emotional solvacy. - Sure. - Well, no, I said it on my mouth and I didn't even believe it. - Well, it's not like you and God though. - I and I was, please, I'm always looking for something. - Cut over to Charlotte visiting Naughty Stein psychic to the stars. - This is big for you this week. - Okay, so basically this week, I got scammed out of $585 by a psychic in Midtown 'cause she was so charismatic. And then watching this episode, I was like, I'm not Charlotte. It's just so much Charlotte. - Okay, I do really wanna know what happens. - Okay, yeah. - Has this happened to you? - Never, I don't pay them. - I keep asking people, has this happened to you and they keep being like, no. (laughing) - $585. - So I walk in because they can assign for $10 astrology reading, right? And I'm like, I should do something. My birthday was recently. I'm like, I'll do birthday reading. I get in there and I'm like, you know what? I'll do the $65 tarot reading. This woman is in a pink, juicy, track suit. So charismatic. She keeps getting phone calls from her 24 year old son and answers that. - I can tell her future and it involves a few more babies. - What do you think her son does? - He's like, oh, he needs to grow up. (laughing) - She's still selling fentanyl. - Yeah. (laughing) - Like shirtless and Michigan somewhere. (laughing) - She did as she got me early because she was like, I can read your aura, your third eye is closed and your sex chakras off base. And I'm like, that sounds about right. And then she was like, was your mother really sad when you were in utero? And I'm like, famously, that's like my mom's whole thing. And so then she was like, I wanna work with you. It cost $1,400 and I was like, I only have $500 of birthday money and she was like, I'll do it special for you 'cause I really wanna help you. And I was like, okay, so I tap and give her that. And she's like, so I'm gonna meditate for you overnight. And then you can come back tomorrow and we'll like work through it. So I come back the next day and she immediately is like, I meditate it for you. We're gonna need to work together for six weeks for $2,400. And I'm like, can we just do the $500 thing that I paid for yesterday? And she kept pushing and then she was like, fine. And then she made me meditate alone for 10 minutes while she put in her AirPods and made lunch at night. And then she came back and she was like. - What is she doing for lunch? - I don't know, in my head it was like a cheese quesadilla. - It was a grilled bologna sandwich. I'm not stirred, American cheese. - But she comes back and she's like, so after meditating for 10 minutes, you know you need the $2,400 thing, right? And I was like, unlock me from the store so I can leave. And then I tried to report it to Apple and then Apple emailed me back and they're like, do you have any proof? And I'm like, no, of course she only contacted me through phone 'cause she knew. - Oh my god. - No worries. - At what? Okay. I love this. (laughing) I'm glad that I know this so early into meeting you. At what point did you feel like it was a bad idea in the equation? Was it the quesadilla being made? - I got to say the first day when I walked out, I was like, I immediately called my friend and was like, I think I was just scams. But then I wanted so badly for it to not be a scam that I went back the next day. - You had to open your heart. - And that day I came in with strength and I was like, even if she's charming, you have to say no. And then I really stood my ground and it was terrifying and I do think it was a learning opportunity and I am like gonna try and not be-- - You definitely learned something. - I definitely like trying not to be like, you stupid bitch, like only the stupidest of stupid would do this. And instead you like, okay, you've always struggled setting boundaries. This is an example of how you have to push back on the level of the law. So I'm trying to like, take it from that lens, otherwise I'd have to jump. - Well, and so there are a lot of moments. I mean, somebody out there does have the last four of my social security number because-- - Thousands. - Well, I'm like, you can go Google that. I'm sure at this point. - And I'll give them the rest of they just ask for it. Like, whatever. You don't have to do the best of us. - People are always asking for it. - I'm like, this is a moment where I wish you could have a gun in New York City. - I would not shoot her. - We're talking about yourself. - In fact. - Maybe just the ground next to her foot. - In fact, I almost felt bad saying no to her scamming news. - The whole way through. - Well, she knows that too. - And she, yeah, she knew early on that I would be easy to swear. - Well, and you know, that's the real thing is that the scam psychics are real. They're just getting something different from you. - No, I am 100% she is a psychic, and she is needing to pay her rent. - She's like, you have a dark spirit. Did you sleep bad last night? I'm like, uh-huh. - Sure. Okay, we're going to cut to our first break. But when we come back, we will dive more into the episode. - Y'all, me and Evan are coming to LA. It's been over a year. We haven't been doing it because we're like, stress about finances. But we don't have to stress about that anymore because now we're on monarch. Monarch is the personal finance app that tracks everything. Accounts, Investments, Saving Goals, and Spending. Get your first year of monarch core for half off, just $50, with promo code GirlsRewatch. And y'all, can I just say I had the time in my life on this app. So I like connected every big account I have into it and I like, shows it all on one screen now. It's amazing. And you, you know, how like certain things will be like a sign like, rust or on a bar. And you're like, that's actually, I was at a concert. And it's like, you don't want it to mess up your budget, but then it like shows up in that category. On Monarch, you can edit it and assign what category it actually goes into. And so of course, I have like a category for GirlsRewatch expenses and then personal expenses, et cetera, et cetera. I feel like most banging apps, like, just show you what you spend it. And you're like, I know, I was there. But Monarch helps you set goals, map out big purchases, and see if you're actually on track. It literally like shows you like, what's up? Girl, you need to use code [email protected] to get your first year of Monarch Core half off at just $50. That's 50% off your first year at Monarch.com with code GirlsRewatch. Oh, and we are back. This isn't really fun. OK, so where do we drop off? OK, so-- We were talking about, sorry, like going to her psychic. Sorry, just went to the psychic. Have you guys been to the psychics? Yes. And paid the normal amount? Yes. And I do my energy kill her. I think she died two weeks after she came to everything. Yeah, so she didn't see that coming. Well, I hope she did. I think she knew I sat down and she heard church bells somewhere in the distance. You know, what did she tell you with her last two weeks? You know, like not that much. She said I was going to live to '89, though. And so I made the decision that when I hit '80, I'm going to start doing heroin. And really have a nice last night. Just you're really kind of got it done. Yes. And I don't know how I'm going to die, but I did decide, like, '88 hits. And I'm going to start planning to disappear into the woods. You're going to quiet quit. Yeah, for sure. Just kind of move on with my life, you know. Have you been to psychic? They find me. They hunt you down. They find me. They often find me. I don't-- they always tell me that I'm going to marry a woman. And like, in that truth, I kind of love. And they want me sort-- And every time they're going to tell me through a small business, but one of them one time told me that it's going to be in female health. They want me to start. And it was the day Trump was elected. Maybe it's a kind of living hell, is that this is a trans-be an arc. I know. I wish I saw that coming. I'm kind of seeing it for you. Just again, a lot of work. Me saying it allowed. Right? [LAUGHTER] Yeah. I don't know why. But you're psychic, damn. Maybe I am. Maybe. She sees a wife in your future. You're the wife. You are the wife. One time, I psychic-- I lived in New Orleans. And it's riddled with psychics. I mean, you got a rat here running. It got the same problem in New Orleans. They come out of Woodward. I want to go to there. I remember one time my friend ran off from my gene jacket. He fell on French ministry. Broke his arm. We had-- it was a week of finals. And we had to let loose. We're all obliterated. He is now using my jean jacket as kind of a cast. And he's miles away from me, he's stuck at a dad's bar. And I'm literally screaming on the screen like, that's my dad's jacket, like where are you? I need to get my jacket back. And a woman grads me by the vest and she goes, that's your dad's jacket and your dad's dead. I'm like, my dad is dead. My dad's completely live. (laughing) - Sure. - We went along with the story and then she gave me her psychic card. And in a way, I'm like, I guess in a way, like now that I've gone through finals, my junior year, in a way, my dad is dead. I'm now a new person. - Sure. - Bye. - Well, yeah, the past version of you and the way you knew your dad had-- - Going through econ 102, it does like change you fundamentally as a person. - And kills your dad and some kind of-- - And kills my dad and some kind of-- - Spiritual sense. - I love that for her. - I will say so my psychic told me that I was gonna be married by 30 and have three kids. - Okay. - And I'm like, I got two years to turn it all around. - Well, and that's a very southern thing to do. - Yeah, so I'm like, you're-- - You could get that done in six months, and you could be pregnant with the first one. - I could, but it's like, girl, can't you tell? I'm here because I didn't want that. - Right. - But Charlotte wants that. Charlotte's being told by the psychic. - Sure. - It's not in the cards for you. You're amazing at your career. And then Charlotte's like, please don't ruin my life. Don't say that. And then she goes, honey, I'm a psychic, not a shrink. - And she does have, and maybe this is-- - I don't know, maybe I see lesbianism everywhere. I do also think she should be a lesbian. I think she would, from the read I'm getting of her, she seems very high-strong. - By the way, there's moments. - Is there moments? - You're gonna love this show. - Wow. - You really have to stop it. - You're really gonna love this show. - You keep being like, they should do this. And I'm like-- - They do! (laughing) - Maybe they should all be lesbian. Can we pitch that idea? That's what the remake should have been. - I should've did dry. - They're all there. And now they are actually the ones who brought polyamory to Bushwick. They're kind of responsible. They're all fucking each other. - But they're defying the neighborhood? - Yes. - Love it. - Yes, gentrifying the neighborhood with white lesbianism. That's what the show should have been. Really. - Don't say that loud. - Oh, please. - I just got chills. - It is nerve. - Okay, so Carrie and Big, they're at dinner. Big won't let Carrie go to church, and she really wants to. And then he distracts her by being like, let's go on a trip to the Caribbean. Which I'm like, that would work on me. - Yeah, and I think in that moment, she should've known what it was. - This is Carrie's famous problem is that she gets her answer, and then she doesn't like the answer. So then she's like, I have to get the answer. - Sure. - I'm like, you know. - Can I, I want to ask you, you're at dinner. And then this sequence of events happens. You, but she don't think you would ever do this. Ask to go to church with a guy you're dating. He says St. Bart's instead. I think, in my mind, I would be like, okay, I'm, he has a wife, I'm the sugar baby. - Right. - And I'd be completely fine with that. - Oh, to me, I'm hearing like, there's a different kind of thing. I'm going to worship in his name is St. Bart, the Paul Falmue, and I'm going to love the beaches. - Right. - And I mean, that's where I'm going to find myself. - I'm just like, it's so clear to me, she wants to go to church because she wants to meet his mom. And so she is essentially asking him directly, can you introduce me to your mom? - Sure. - And he is saying, no. - Sure. - And she's like, I'm going to sneak into the church and just see her and then she drops a Bible. That whole thing happens. - And it's a mess. - And none of it seems worth it. - But the worst part is, so then she does meet the mom, but is introduced as a friend and then she asks big about it. And he's like, you really like pigeonholed me here and like, I really don't like it, but let's still go on the trip to the Caribbean. That should have also, once again, I've been the close, close the case on that carry, like he did not want, like you aren't the one. - Yeah. - But instead, she's like, okay, this trip and then right before the trip, she just blows it all up. I mean. - It's, you know, it's just, it's a poor planning. But I've heard also, and I think this is a tendency amongst a lot of people who are writers that they like destroying their lives. So they have something to write about. She should have been insane bars. That should have been the end of the show. - It's like the playwright wanting his Catholic guilt 'cause of his play. - No, exactly. He wants to get up and wash his dick and have a weird thing because it's like a, he thinks that they're gonna write that about him when it's Wikipedia page. - Yeah. - And kind of like a section Catholic guilt and then controversy right after. - Honestly, I would go see his play. Shame, shower and shame or whatever. - It's a honor off. - Do you think it's honor off Broadway? - Off Broadway. - Shortly off. - I mean, he's got a name to him. - Off, off, off, off. - Okay, can we talk about that scene now? - Well, it's definitely something to grapple with. It's so interesting to watch big come to heads in this way with Carrie so consistently. I mean, this whole season one arc is that, again, what you're saying is big delivers his specific truth. Carrie absolutely hates the specific truth and does everything in her power to alter it by having so much anxious energy is panicked towards him and doesn't deliver her succinct message, but instead kind of just acts in this damaging, corrosive way towards big who often is able to receive her after a high moment of contention, like the emotional release into the reconciliation of their relationship. But the moment it feels so different about this is that when Carrie traditionally acts in her meddling ways to try to win big over, it doesn't involve, I guess it kind of, but it doesn't involve like interacting with big in such a personal way. It's more of the concept of like her, like she's, she's in like in private with him, but do it in such a like a public setting as a church actually interacting in big life. It ultimately like brings the confrontation of the truth way more to the forefront because it's so easy to do things like in pretend at your home. We can say whatever we want there, that's our place. But when you bring anything to public, oftentimes that's when the real truth comes out 'cause there's additional stakes in circumstances. - Yeah, and then Carrie is like, well, he's so present when we're alone together. So this must just be a mixed signal, but as we were saying on last week's episode, it's like if it's a mixed signal, it's unknown. - Is it the Chinese food restaurant all over again? - Literally. - That's another thing we're, so this is, is that kind of just another version of if he wanted to, he would. - If he wanted to, he would and he's not. - And it would be annoying. - And she's telling herself stories in order to live. - Right. And it does, how old are they supposed to be in the show? - 32. - Biggest 40, she's 32. - Okay, so that's really depressing. 'Cause I do feel like this is kind of like a, this is like a lesson for 23. I think in the modern era, perhaps. - Well, because she didn't have sex in the city to watch. - Sure. - In her 20s. - So she's kind of paving the way for. - You have to sucker for it. - She really is, she is basically Jesus for us. - She was the first woman to date an older man who doesn't want her. - In the history. - Ever. - In the history period. (laughing) - The entire one. - No, it's, when someone like, you're in a group, I'm not to bring up a hungry empty analogy, but I just read some rice delivery being, it's like someone had to drink the water first in the arena, in order to know that it was poison to save everyone else's life. - Right. - And that's Carrie is a marmarder, like she's almost Jesus Christ in a way that she gave up her life for our sins. - She kind of died for like dumb girls everywhere. - Exactly. - Yeah. - Jesus is my home boy. Carrie is my home girl. - Well, so Jesus, Jesus, Carrie, some of them. - Spirit. - No, we'll find a good one. - Yeah, we'll find a bad one. - Anna Horbath. - Let's cut to. - Yes. Yes. - Wait, that would be an amazing graphic to post on our Instagram page. - I'm gonna leave it up to you. - Okay. - I'm not gonna text us all. - Thomas John Anderson goes freak mode. He ultimately uses the exact lines he yells at Miranda in his hit off Broadway play, "Shower of Shame." But I felt that this scene where he is yelling at Miranda, like my skin crawl, he was being so weird and I was like, I hate when men have a personality like this. - And they do have like a thing. - I do, I will say this whole, all of the experiences in this episode, and maybe it was just Kismet, they all do live the lives that like most young trainees I know today live. Like this is exactly like, it was kind of scary. I was like, she really is just a young, transsexual fucking some freak, you know? Like right down to the haircut and the weird lesbian allegations, you know? - She's just like, there's nothing to be ashamed of. - I guess that's actually where you do its connect from this show 'cause it's not the most trend, friendly. - I've seen the clips, but sometimes, I think there comes a moment for me where I'm like, your life is hell, your honorary. - Well, there's actually something you point to beautifully here, and it's why it's because the show is written by men, but it's the stories of women. - So in a way, it is trans. - It's kind of trans, we get the whole spectrum. - Right, yeah, yeah, it's men living like in these female idols. - Well, so this kind of drag more. - It's drag and it translates. - Yeah, it's like in the modern era. - That's the great way to put it. - Yeah, exactly. - What, what's that on it? - It's beautiful. - Put that on a card. - Yeah, make that into an Instagram host girl. - No, the yelling was, I mean, yeah, the yelling was freakish. - I don't know. - I thought I'd be with that hero line. I'd freak out. - Well, and that's exactly, I did actually very much sympathize with her being like, I'm gonna go back to being a cougar after. this. You know, I was like, yeah, him being like, I'm gonna go shower. And when I get back, I'd like you to be gone. And she's like, no, problem. You freak. Yeah. I should write a rewrite of the script. That's just like, you really should. I'm really surprised. So you should do a rewrite and you should play all the characters. And it should be ASMR. And it's a vertical. Samantha and James finally hook up. He has a tiny dick. Um, this is so sad. An amazing note written down. This is so sad. This is so sad. I have a quote written down that would love to say at this moment, but like, she's like, okay, honey, I can't wait any longer. Put it in. He's like, it isn't. Oh, that would have broken me. Oh, and I love Miranda's reaction to the whole shower sequence as well. Where she's at the diner with the girls before to subsequently break out, break up and break out girl. I know her skin is wretched for a shower. She is not touching to stuff because she goes, have carry goes, have you ever shower with him? And she goes, I'm worried that she might, he might bring out garlic and crosses. Oh, yeah. I love that because in her way, like, every redhead is a vampire. Yeah, it's how they get the red in their hair. She's Alice. She's Alice. Yeah. And it ultimately, like, the, the real emotional arc of this whole show is Samantha being confronted with a tiny penis. Yeah. Because to go, it's so funny to build a whole brand and then when you finally find a connection that works for you, it doesn't work on you. Well, this is the thing where it's like Darin Star said, obviously Samantha has to deal with the tiny dick because if any other character had to deal with it, the stakes would be so much lower. But since Samantha's so like over identified with her sexuality, it like ruined, it's like the stakes are so much higher. I know. Well, and in a way, she does seem to have the most rigid sense of what she's willing to accept. She kind of seems to be the only one that has actually a hard boundary about what she will and won't allow when it comes to men in her life. That's so accurate. And so I think that's really the reason because the rest of them would have said tiny penis. Okay. Let's make it work. Let's make it work. Let's do this for four years. Let's make it a whole season arc. And I feel like for her, it's a quick disposal. Right. She's crying for a couple of episodes. That's a great point because the episode before this, you didn't even see it. But Charlotte is confronted with her boyfriend who is on SSRIs and can't get hard. Sure. Even though he's used to be known as a sex god. And she's like actually kind of enjoying that for a second. And then she does come to the truth that like she has to love herself. She ultimately breaks up with him down on herself because of the penis because he won't get hard. Okay. See, yeah. So I dictated a penis. Well, penis is kind of if you really think about it, we're always kind of thinking about it a little. What I love is this like sex in the city is so chic. And then it's like they're in their church outfits in a way that has never been done before. They're hats. It's like, where did you even find that dress for this? But I love that dress. That's a great striped dress. Yeah, actually people love it. That's a beautiful dress. Miranda is more the issue for me. Sure. Her dress. But I love that Miranda is such a good friend that she's like, of course, I'll sneak into Presbyterian church for you. Like, yes. That's such an ally. Well, it's kind of like a for the bed. I think it was fun for her too. Yeah. Well, and then Carrie was like, go. I'm with big. And she like hung around in the back. She's like, this isn't going to go so hot. And then they have their heart to heart, which I think is really powerful because when two girls talk in a pew, it is really important. Yes. And I do think that there is something magical about letting your home girl walk into her destruction in the house of God. I do think that's like the only thing you can really do is. Right. The nicest thing she could have done was to let that happen and then be there to comfort. Sure. Yes. And their hats kind of felt like an allegory for the relationship. Carrie's hat was so much larger like the sun and Miranda was a tiny red planet kind of circling around her. Now the sketch comedy like the Charlie Chaplin of dropping the bible from the mezzanine. Yeah. Is crazy. It's beautiful. That's so good. It seems like one of those things she she seems like the kind of girl that stuff just happened. She I shot my bible from the mezzanine. But again, it's like there's a spirit within her that is subconscious. That is it was on purpose. She doesn't know. But we know that she is subconsciously now. And she liked the she did enjoy the attention. And what does it look like? Yeah. What does she have to sit up? Oh no. And that's why the hat was so big. And that's why the dress was fierce. She was ready to play. Right. She was. Because if she wanted to be incognito, that dress would have been hideous. It's truth. It's truth. Is it the power? I don't know about that. But there's a truth. I love it. So they finally need after church and big is like a way we skipped over something really important. What? So what actually when it was famous lines of this show happens? So Carrie is stalking big at church and see some exiting. And she goes, there he was, Armani and on a Sunday. And people love. I don't know. People love Armani. I think it's to her tonality of it. Because people love that this show is all about brands. It really brings in consumerism culture. But at the same time, there's a love behind it. Yeah. I thought she did. She ate with that line walks to Emily and Paris could do spawn con for 12 episodes a season. I love spawn. It's almost all we have anymore. Yeah. But you know what? The series of lines in the post church conversation were so shocking. I had to pause and rewind because Carrie is like, introduce me to your mother. And then he's like, this is my friend Carrie. And then the mother goes and Carrie is like, what? What the hell? He goes, my mother doesn't need to meet another girlfriend. She goes, out. That's that stab number one. And then he says, I'll introduce you to my mother when I'm sure stab kind of pulling it down to kind of make it bleed more. And then like, Carrie being like, we've been going out for months. She's absolutely devastated. And he like won't budge. He sees how sad she is. And is also like, no worries. Which is just like in the last five years, the onic Hendrick musical. She was just in it once. But when she's like, you can see that I'm crying and do nothing at all. I see. Yeah, it's true. You know, I would I ultimately see her as wasculture versus Jewish culture. Or even now, Carrie is like a causative presbyterian. She is Reddit. She's a Jewish actress. It's written by a Jewish man. And the culture in Judaism is like, I will introduce like someone I've been dating for two weeks. My parents just because they're like, happened to be walking around town. But in waltz culture, you reserve the parents until you bring the ring in because they don't involve drama in the family. And ultimately, bringing up relationships is the circumstance of drama. Yeah. Sure. And she doesn't understand that because she's a Jewish who wants to run free. So it's actually just a cultural misunderstanding. It's not even about love. Well, and I think I think the reality here too, especially if we're going to talk about wasp culture, it's because I think 90% of the time your mom is going to hate your girlfriend. They're going to try to kill each other. And I mean, I don't think Carrie seems like a woman who makes a great first impression. So I don't know, you know, this could be really the big part of it too, is he knows it's not going to go well. Yeah. If I had to guess. I mean, she's so cold and calculated for the 10 seconds of screen time she has. Yeah. And she's like getting a lot of attention in church, which is kind of like not what you're supposed to do there. I disagree. That's where I went to be on stage. Oh, okay. Were you like, were you like singing with the band? I did, um, were you was it mega church or was this like a church? I did mega church. And then I also did for a United Methodist. Oh, fierce. So I had a lot of fun. But I did sing Taylor Swift's, um, and we'll sing hallelujah at the karaoke event to see if they would ask me to be in the band and they did. But I actually can't sing in them. That's a hallelujah girl, because you just heard her singing a second ago. Right. Well, it's not the talent. Well, it's a Chris. So it's actually just the confidence in the level. Yeah, exactly. And that's really all they look for. I was a channel. I was a channel. Yes. Um, but then my mom broke up with the boyfriend and we stopped going to that church. So okay. Was he the priest? No, she just like wanted a break from God after that break. Yeah, I would too. Yeah, that's what people find God. I know she's not like that though. Um, let's cut to our second break and then we'll finish it out and do our last segment. Yeah, yeah. We'll be right back. I feel hobbled by winter hobbled. And now that spring has sprung Mama, listen, that same feeling is in my feet, because I am going back to my 20 K steps a day girl. Oh my god, you're a 20 K steps a day. Thank God Stanford has a hot boyfriend. We need that. Yeah, this is a great representation to me when any time a gay person launches a product, it's mostly about like throwing parties and less about the actual thing. Well, the product is like, it's amorous. It may not even be available for the brand activation. It's just for the party. It's, yeah, it's kind of just like we need an excuse to do cocaine at this bathroom. Did we all clock the four of them going into a single small bathroom stall and not doing coke? How small is it? They all fit in there. Well, they're very small girls. Maybe this is one of those things where it's like, if you know, this is a suspended reality, because I did. And I kind of like instinctually was wondering who was going to pull the back out and know dead. But I think maybe spiritually like they did coke. Well, I think offers is truth and communication sometimes. God forbid. That's going through my worst nights. Yeah. Yeah. Hello. Come on. Sometimes it's sisterhood. Sometimes the sisterhood is cocaine. Do you need cat? I mean, or do you need a friend? Oh, my God. The idea of like going into a bathroom stall for coke and it's your friend being like, you just need to talk to him. Yeah. Well, you can tell that a gay party because there's not a single other woman in the bathroom. Well, yeah. And that's the other thing too is I can't pee at any kind of gay venue. I can't pee in those bathrooms. That's not what they're for. No. Yeah. God, they're I'm there. What are they for? Doing coke and sisterhood. But people don't even care about that anymore. Ultimately, they'll do it anywhere. Well, and that is becoming a huge problem because I do think it's fucking up the vibe. And that is a discussion. That's mainly where people do it. Yeah. I think there needs to be shame about it though. Like you shame on the dance floor. You've been in here for three weeks and you're ready to change that. I'm ready to make laws. Actually, we're going to do it since the next thing couldn't do with her governor race. Right. Stanford smoking on the dance floors are coke on the dance floor. So, you know, that was fierce to me. That I like. That was cool. Yeah. No, that I was like, you're actually the only bitch here. Well, there's something very sexless about the vape. But the cigarette is all it always holds a sexuality. So the vape on the dance floor that we get now, it's so like, oh god. It's utilitarian. Yeah. And it's so, oh god, you guys. I don't know when it becomes a jewel. I have respect for it because I'm like, when it becomes a jewel, when it becomes a jewel, I do respect it. It's for a tro. Well, maybe give geek bars five years. Okay. Yeah. It's more like we're looking at that, thinking it's cool, just because it was the past. Right. And you know what tastes like shit. Yeah. And the cigarette tastes like shit. Yeah. So it's really just about the innuendo and the cancer. And the cancer. Cancer is important. Cancer is sexy. Cancer alley. So we really picked and this is a stupid question for sure. The point of vapes is that it's the nicotine without the tar and the tar is what causes the cancer. I mean, since tar was there, girl, I want to Oscar, oh, it almost. No one knows. I think it's just like yummy. It's portable. It's more reusable. You can do it on the plane. It's, but also, yeah, theoretically, the vape was introduced as an alternative to the cigarette because it contained less chemicals. But it was discovered that like that wasn't actually the truth at the end. Yeah. It's like flavored battery acid. Exactly. But yummy. I guess it's like maybe like 10% better than the actual cigarette. I do think everyone needs to go back to regular smoking again. Even the people who don't use nicotine. And also there's a price barrier. Yes. I think the price barrier really does help people quit smoking a little bit because you need a financial incentive not to spend. I mean, people will spend, but it's $20 a day compared to like $20 a week. Right. The girls really can fill in the stretch. Those burnt vapes right now. I know. Another week. Oh my god. I saw someone hot wire one other day. It's the apple bong of today. Jesus Christ. Yeah. They're jail-breaking to sell jailbreak. And then oh, and uh, Stanford has an amazing line here because it's, it's a great juxtaposition when they're coming from church right to a church, a party inside a church. We're getting very New York very limelight. And then Stanford says, oh, isn't it about amazing? It's like having with the cover charge. Oh my god. That is fierce. Yes. That was really fierce. And by the way, the most plot he's had all season. Wow. He's so true. I love that he's like so my boyfriend designed the bottle. It is like that. Every time I meet somebody at an event, they're like, yeah, so he's actually the designer who met the designer that made the flag. Sure. And it's like, okay, since they made the flag. And I'm never talking to any of those people again. So I love to meet people and be like, so bye. But then you run into them three months later. Yeah. And then it's like, oh, yeah, you work in PR, right? I will say that is a minefield that I'm not enjoying navigating because that means I have to be nice to everyone. And I'm really actually loving that huge cunt in the club. I can't do that anymore. I actually think you should get away with it. Because if you lead with that brand now, you could be like friendly, but what's of, um, I think with game and I can they love it. You should be the brand level it's of 20 something should. Yeah, that's exactly what I should do. So let me become completely unsexed and obsessed with plastic food. You're half way there. And I'm not going to tell you what happened. But you know. Okay. Samantha is devastated by the three inches hard dick James. I love Charlotte leaving the club to go to another psychic on a set of town that New Yorkers have a reddened bell. That was yeah, and it was like really intense for her. Psychics love to be openly because they know they pray on the the vulnerability. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I'm timing. You said the name. Second girl. What the hell? God took something from you today. I think he's taking something from you a long time ago. There's no yoke. And so she's like, oh yeah. So she goes to the psychic. The psychic is being translated by a man, which I'm loving. Yeah, he can be saying anything and doing anything. Sure. With weirdly, I kind of believe it more when it comes out of man's mouth. Don't get. Uh-oh. Um, no, psychic really can only do one. Strike two. Strike two. What was the first strike? Um, him bullying me. We also want to say really did spend $2,000 on a psychic two years ago. Uh, no, I didn't. Yeah. I got a psychic reading from a guy that looks like a senator on zoom and it was $500. But um, he looked like a senator like vibe or a specific senator. He looked like a senator. His name was Joe Nichols. Sincere Nixon. He told me in a past life, I was a dancer and I was like, what kind of dancer? And he's like a sex worker. Okay, he made it clear. Not even just a stripper. No. She was taking clients home. She was taking clients, girl. In Egypt, nonetheless. Oh, wow. Yeah. An Egyptian sex worker. Like ancient or like, that's why you're amazing. I cat eyes. Anyway, Charlotte's so devastated and I really do feel bad because it is like, that's all our fault. Well, I mean, we were talking about it earlier. Psychics really do try to scam. Well, yeah, vulnerable women. Well, I think it's that they, I there is something. And this is a lot of lore because I grew up around a lot of psychics. I think that they're the real skill is they learn to be able to look at your face and be like, it was your father. Like they could just spot things inside of you. And I do think you can look at Charlotte and see that this woman is supposed to be gay and isn't having enough sex and it's probably going to be alone. But the American truth, it's like, it's always a father. Sure. Well, and it's an easy one. It's an easy one. Daddy issues. Yeah, we really need to shed light on mother issues because I think they're one of the main ones. So it is. And I think now it's both. And I think that's what they miss a lot of the time. They go for the easy, but really it's generational. It's the mom. I know. But what if you're mom issues spawned from your dad having issues. Some gobbling. Where do we go from there? Well, we've got to wrap up that episode. So we final scene is Carrie is grappling with what her apparent truth will be as big as getting ready to pick her up to bring her off to the Caribbean. By the way, upset me the way he said he's a Caribbean. Yeah. Ooh, the pronunciation. He I could another syllable. It was really fun to see. Anyway, so getting my taxis out there, Carrie brings down like half an away suitcase. I'm like, how are you packing for a trip with - This would have been an amazing opportunity for SponCon. - I know. - And yeah, so she's coming down and she has to decide if she wants to run off with a man who refuses to commit with her. - And by the way, it's a free trip. All she gotta do is buy him one margarita. I'm like, girl, suck it up. - She's being flown out, it's like chill. - This is also her opportunity to make him decide shoots the one. Like the fact that she's like, I need to know I'm the one before I go on the trip. I'm like, why don't you use the trip? - Girl. - And you want to watch this housewives know that the real truth come out when you're drunk at dinner in Mexico. - The boat. - Exactly. - It comes out on the boat. - Or the plane ride and then they don't get on a camera. - Sure. - I just really think this is a missed opportunity. - It is not on camera. It's not the truth. (laughing) But, no, I mean, I do. It seems, maybe she's a woman ahead of her time because I do think Carrie Browchaw, 2026 would have been like, yes, I love that you will not commit to me. I will absolutely go on this trip with you. And that really would have been it. So I don't know, I think she did fuck up the game. I think she didn't know the game was in front of her though. - But you know what? I bet production was like, we can't do an offsite. - Sure. We don't have the budget for that yet. - Yes. - Season one. - Season two. - She'll go to the Caribbean. - Well, at least Los Angeles. - At least-- (laughing) - One in the same. - Yeah. - One's a natural imporation. - One in palm trees. - Hello, come on. - Should we get into-- - A rude twig. - Our final set. - Oh, yes. Let's get into our last segment. - Okay, we got an amazing question for you. - We have a question. - Ask all our guests. - Girl, what girl are you? (upbeat music) - Yeah, come on, come on, come on. (sighs) - And we're happy to help. - Yeah, I think you guys have to help me. I really don't know. I don't like any of them. - No, and we knew that. - Sure, but you don't need to help with. - Yeah. - I don't have enough, I actually, I do like-- - There are enough sex. - I don't have enough sex to be that one. What's her name? Miranda, the sex one. Oh Samantha. Samantha. You know what? I don't really know a lot, but I feel like it you're not like any of them, but if I had to pick you are actually Charlotte. Okay, you have your goals and you'd like to get there and I'm not getting any tick. So it kind of all adds up. It all adds up. I actually agree with you. Okay. Love. Yeah. I don't see it, but like ultimately you're trying your truth. Yeah, fear religious. Right. Um Evan. Girl, what girl are you? I thought I really printed out the wrong version. I thought this episode I was a maybe a Stanford, because I love ties. You know what? I'm actually going to change. I think I am going to I'm going to say that I think I'm a Miranda. If it's just per episode, you choose per episode. That's how this works. I'm going to see Miranda because I will go back to old dick when you dick pisses me off. I will do that. What do you feel for me? Stanford. Yeah. Because you know what? You actually you would the thing about you Evan is you would love a brand activation. If there was a fragrance launch, you'd want to be a part of it. And you'd want to be kissing a guy who like how to pardon it. Also, you love to introduce people to your new person, like pretty quickly. And so so Stanford. Anyone sacred and that's and I had to change that. Evan's always bringing somebody a $3 bill and it's like, so this. No, I bring really boring guys that I don't want to date at all to my friends. People that you don't respect. People I don't respect. I bring into public. Because I know there's like a moment like I am hating it. I can leave the situation and show out my friends and then they can kind of make their way through the world. Yeah. I like meeting them though. So keep it. No, it's like fun. Do you like make any way? Do you also end up not respecting them? Like is that usually mutual? Well, I'm just like I usually am like Evan why? Like about the guy about the guy not like they're always cool and like interesting, but I'm like, this cannot possibly be your type. That's why I brought them there because I do what's going to work. So okay, I want to have fun. I want to have fun with my girls. And it's so fun. It's just like you just need a prop. Evan's like bringing like a frat guy. No, I'm not. He wore a baseball cap backward. He didn't know better. He was playing trade. He was well, he wasn't playing. Okay, he thought was sometimes like even the gayest guys don't know what gay is. Sure. I know what you said. Oh, I did that. Give you the right person. Oh, my good. Oh, no, wait, what did I say? Oh, he didn't. He said Miranda, but you're actually Samantha because you lost your virginity. You didn't know it with micro penis. Oh, yeah, I did lose my eye with my good penis and he made me top the first time and it was such a movie experience from he cried. Um, I had it. I like wasn't having the best time, but I did walk home skipping. Kind of they got a joy. But I also, I hated the actual, of course, the sex was bad, but but then you got to be like, I had sex. Yeah, and not with like invigorating enough. Sure. But then I was on a side of town I had never been bored before. But any, any like he had to call his husband halfway through, but I mean, there's a lot to learn. He had to call his husband halfway through. Um, and so there's a lot to learn. I like it was kind of a better story, but I don't remember the whole night. And it's also part of the story, unfortunately. Whoa. Sometimes it is. I love that you kind of whispered that whole segment. Yeah, shame. And I'm going to be sure the darker detail sort of to a lot. Kind of all in one month, the end of the field, I'm like, I'm going to need to turn it up. I think how we didn't rattle off any jokes before he got to that. I, of course, I'm Charlotte this episode because I love to get scammed by healers. It's one of my favorite activities. How else would you fund your money? How else would I spend my money? It's like, I'm not going to own a home. I might as well give a woman who's very care of something some money. Yeah, exactly. Well, and it seems like she might need it. Yeah. Yeah. So really, I think actually you did something good. She's making lunch at home, but I actually, I actually don't feel that upset with myself. Yeah, I feel pretty at peace. Well, because it was like you had the learning experience, you set a boundary and you helped a poor woman and I started having an abundance mind set with well. So I'm like, well, no, she's working on the matching. It doesn't matter. She's juicy. Sue. Yeah, but it wasn't a real one. It was like one of the new ones from early 10. It was a knock off. Oh, she knew the money. Yeah, she has a son who's 24. That has to call her like, she's got some to do. Yeah, 24 in Charlottes in Michigan. Probably at an impound lot. So like, you know, you're like, loving this goal. I'm really obsessed. I do want to meet her. I like it. Yeah, you want to go because I actually have to take a picture of her menu where it says she charges 175 hours. My credit card will give me the money back. Yeah, it's right by where I get my spare chance. The fact that you can't go to a psychic in Times Square. Well, it was 37th Street. Okay. Well, then it's not Times Square. It's close. It's closer to the eyes, but it's not. It's close enough to be the judge. The psychic cement. Okay, it was funny. Is someone actually said to me very recently, all the best psychics are in Midtown. And I heard that and I was like, I don't know. I don't know who to trust. I don't know who to believe. Wait, I believe I feel like I'm just going to outsource to like Jersey or Connecticut or something. Anyway, I do think like, let's go to the long Island media. Yeah, but she's not a psychic. It's, you know, part of her title is comedian. Those are the same to me. I know, but not to her. Okay. Yeah. Okay. And Marla. We're going to do is carried away. Well, don't be a bitch. I'm not being a bitch. I'm just being myself. So this is where we kind of take a moment. Either a theme for an episode or if there's just a point that really felt like it drew you in that you just need to talk about, we will lead it off for you here. Amelia, what are you getting here to wait with? Okay. I brought up this quote earlier in the episode when the psychic goes honey, I'm a psychic. I'm not a shrink. So you guys what we really need is a combo. And like what people go to psychics for, we actually would really be out of it from it being a psychic therapist. And I know that like I would heal if I visited a psychic therapist. And I think the fact that we like keep that it's the same thing where universities make studies like all separate, but it's like it's actually inter what's it called? Interconnected. It's all interconnected in here. Just maybe there's that one buzzword, but it's all intersectional. It's intersectional. Yeah. Yeah. We need an intersectional psychic because I would like intersect psychic. Yeah. And that person can tell you the truth. Yeah, exactly that. But I'm just like, have you ever heard of a double major? Is it really too much? I want to say that I actually think you are completely right. And that is the first thing that anyone has said to me in weeks that has sparked serious joy. Wait, I think you're actually going to agree because this exists already. It's on a life coach. Oh, no, no, no, no, no. So a life coach, a life coach is probably that woman that you gave that $500 to that's her next job in about three years after you slapper with that that credit card get back. She's going to convert. No, my mom growing up and her whole friend group. Had a man who was a chiropractor and spiritual advisor. Oh, and now I don't know if he was sexy, but I think he was sexy. And I think that's what it was about to it as well. Yeah, there's all these rumors that chiropractors are fake. Well, so they are, but I do believe in acupuncture. I don't believe in chiropractors, but I do believe that it's a religious practice. You are right about the psychic therapist though. However, I think like psychology and scamming together is like a really dangerous combination because I think even to be a real psychic you do have to be a good scammer. A triple major. You're already double major. You know what I mean? If you see you gotta be a triple threat. You can't put them any credit then. It's a must are five years. Yeah. University of Ohio. That's more of a PhD kind of exactly. I got my PhD at the University of Ohio. There's nothing wrong with that. Okay. Shading evil. Oh my God. What are you getting carried away with Evan? Part of that. When I watch Carrie as her the artist known as Carrie, I ultimately watch her interact with Big as her reenacting her relationships and different emotional triggers are what caused her obviously to act in a way she does. But she never truly gets big a real chance to prove himself but instead just acts from her own trauma. And I'm just I'm getting like she got carried away to the Caribbean. Let her have it. It's not it's not my strongest point yet. But I think it's good to end a season on a week note. Sure. People like that. I'll open a label. Carrie's reenacting her trauma on a new person that could actually be a good thing. But her old wounds cause her. We don't know if it's a good thing or not. I mean, we know it's not. But in a way, it's like we'll give it a chance. Sure. If they're like their chance we'll never give it. Sure. And what are you getting carried away with? Okay. I think what I am learning. I am going to watch the show. I've been convinced not actually buy the show at all but by this experience of talking about it, I have been convinced. And I do actually now I'm thinking that the whole point of girls was just to say, what if Carrie Bradshaw wasn't hot? No, by the way, that's verbatim and famesack. Oh, is it? Lena's on him says that. Lena's on him says that in her book. She said I wanted to make sex and city for a girl who's not as pretty as that. Actually, what she says. You figured it out. I need to read it. I need to read the book. Yeah. And I do think she somehow is worse than Hannah. My first, my first impression of her is terrible. But in a way that I like and joy and I think is necessary. I think a white woman constantly invested in self-destruction of the emotional nature is very important to the ecosystem somehow. I don't sympathize with not just going to say in bars at all, though. I really don't sympathize with that. And I am stuck on it. I can't get over it. It is like the destruction of white woman. It's like bees where it's like the ripple effect of like if the bees go extinct, actually a lot of things will go wrong. Right. And so you kind of just have to let us continuously do it because if we're not doing it to ourselves and writing a blog about it, we're actively bullying somebody else. Yeah. And that's really the only two modalities for white women. Yeah. That is true. Yeah. So because I imagine, I mean, I do, I think about if Hannah had no, if she didn't have that extra 13 pounds or whatever the problem was, she would have been a terrorist. And was she lost? She actually had to gain the weight for the role because she lost them while writing. Yeah. But then had to gain the weight back because Hannah said just eat the whole promise is like if Carrie was a Duffa different group. Yeah. And that's like how the show is written. That's really beautiful. I'm going to watch the Duff this this weekend. Yeah. It's a natural trilogy. Sex and city girls and on a Duff. Yeah. I love it. Yeah. Well, thank you so much for being on the ball. Yeah. It was so fun. This is so fun. We love you. I'm going to be thinking about how you know rent HB for a while. I know. It does feel like they're going to take my card away. Yeah. You could say you're for Michigan. I'm like, your trans are going to do that for other reasons. Yeah. Yeah. I'm saying, I'm like, I am what they are already taking my card. I'm literally a legally classified therapist. So. Okay. Where can the people sign you? You can find me on TikTok or Instagram or sub-stack if you're nasty. I think that's it right now, but keep an eye out because it's going to get a lot nasty or a couple months. Wait, you have a film coming out right or no? Some point. That's like a long time away. Watch this space the long time away. Yes. Yeah. Go back and watch it again. Yeah.
