But it was all about how like in life, you could be the thermometer or the thermostat. Like you could tell people in your temperature or you could like, you could set the temperature or you could just like let other people tell you how hot you are. You know what I mean? Like something like that. - You could create the environment or you could just be subject to it. - Correct. - I like that. - I like to too. - So we are setting the temperature. - We are the temperature. - We're the thermostat. - Like could aren't thermostat and thermometer this is it? - The same thing. - No, and like we're the temperature. - No, sorry, thermometer just tells you what temperature it is. That's not awesome. I haven't been there this summer, but last summer when we were there, we were all eating and Ben starts filming me and then my agent's calling me and I'm like, "What is going on?" But, yes, it's the one-year anniversary of that cajerna-friend beginning. - Yes. - It's crazy how much happened in a year. - It is. Let me think, hold on, you went, like what, like the Washington Monument? No, no, no. Lincoln Memorial? No, I went to the Congressional baseball game. I'm cracking up, like seriously, you're so funny, I forgot about the baseball game. Yeah, I got invited, like on my way to the airport, so like I didn't have anything to wear, but I felt like I had to go. It's like, you know, it's a cool thing that they do. So it's like the Democrats play the Republicans? Exactly. The Congressmen. The Congressmen. We're up Republican, Congress people. That's really cute. The Democrat Republicans, as I said. And then like everyone in the stands wears red or blue. So cute. And it's just like a funny thing. What did you wear? I wore pink. That feels right. I'm in the swirly party. A thousand percent, the cocktail party. That's really cute. And who won? I think you didn't stay long enough. I think I heard the Republicans like have been winning the last few years straight. Well, that's nice. How these for all the players? Yeah. Do you see the little combs in the UK? No. But he's big there. He's huge. He did like three, I think like record-breaking shows at one of the big stadiums. Oh, two. Wembley. Wembley. Like huge. Wembley's huge. Yeah. And I thought I saw he brought Nico out for one of the shotguns. He also brought Nile Horan. Oh, cool. And Thomas Rat. Like so cute. Yeah. It's always weird. Like when country goes big and-- Well, actually, it's so crazy. Because I didn't choose. It says a story. Because I could just like hear you guys making fun of me for choosing it. But I thought it's a good story. About the top five songs? Yes. But the conversation has organically gone there. So I think I should let you guys know that country has taken all five slots in the Billboard Hot 100s for the first time in charts history. That's so cute. Like, first of all, that's never happened. And it's obviously not to make everything about us, but it does feel good to sort of like have your music choices validated when you just get told all the time, like country music songs, like it. And Elle Langley, Morgan Wallen, it's funny Taylor Swift is on there with her toy story song, which I guess is country. But she's not really a country artist. Who are the others? Stella Lefty, Lee. Boston. Oh, you know what? I still want to say about Stella Lefty. Do you know about her? I do know. You are not going to say something negative. She's a generational talent. No, she's so cute. And I've been like watching her whole rise on TikTok. Her music is so good. She happens to have like a very wealthy father. I think her father started Groupon. There's a network of like roughly six billion. Yeah, people like can't get over the fact. And they assume that like all of her success is because she has a billionaire dad. I do understand why people like might think that if you're like not paying attention, but I watch the whole thing like it's super organic. And she definitely like has, you know, an advantage with like, you know, knowing how to get an agent once, once you're eligible, you can just get an agent like you have to be, you have to have something. Um, but you know, I love to talk about our competitors over at the New York Times and pop the cast or whatever it's called. And this is why you really should not have like two grown men talking about pop culture because they, I just saw one of their clips talking about cell laughter. It was genuinely like one of the most misogynistic clips I'd ever seen in my life. And I'm not even like sensitive to misogyny. Like it was so they're talking about misogynist. Yeah. I like to consider myself a misogynist. They were just talking about this like young girl who's really just like bootstrapping. And yeah, okay. Her dad's a billionaire like sure, but like if you're watching, she's just talented. She writes her music. She's a great voice. She's utilized social media. Yeah. But make you a successful pop star with a top five song on the billboard charts. Like they can't do that. No, it can't. And so like if you're watching, she's really like her social media marketing is insane. It seems to be all her like, I don't know, this clip was just so derogatory. I couldn't get over it. It was just like, are we going to talk about like cell love? Like it was just and she's like, what were they saying? Just her dad's a billionaire like, Oh, were you going to talk about that? Like it was so loose. Right? These two like old-ass grown men talking about like a 19 year old. It was, I'll have to find the clip and I'll post it on my Instagram. I was just like, Oh, the toast would never. No, I just think it's like a cool fun fact and I don't really think it has anything to do with her success. I don't either. We were talking about it. And we were like, really? Like him starting root palm, like doesn't really give him pull in the music world. It's just nice for her that when she wanted to be an artist, she probably didn't have to like bust tables. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Another job and got to focus on her music. A thousand percent. A thousand percent. But like, people need to lay off like every comment is about her dad being a billionaire and it's like, we're just very sensitive. Like, people are very sensitive to billionaires right now. Yeah. It's like a tough time to be a billionaire. You're doing a lot of discrimination. That's why I'm not one. Oh, I'm not one for other reasons and if that were me, I wouldn't let the discrimination get me down. I'd just wipe my tears with my money. You'd be a courageous billionaire. Absolutely. You'd stand tall. Absolutely. I would be a billionaire who in the face of adversity, like, never falters in her well-pride. Yeah. That's just a little bit about me. Yeah. Yeah. People don't like the B word. No. We have your chosen today. So I'm personally like M. Okay. So I am ready. Okay. So let's get into the fast five stories that yet it do need to know. I feel very clear. Turt, clean and clear. And under control. And under control. Concert. Beautiful. Our first story. A obligatory mention. I feel like I'm walking right into a trap. Pete Davidson has spotted on a date with Sarah Jane Nader from Hulu's Love Thy Nader series. So here's why I feel like I'm walking into a trap. Why? Because she's gay. One, I know you hate this. You don't care about who he's dating. So I don't. Like Pete Davidson's stories, dating life stories to me are like bottom of the barrel podcast. I think as a podcast, we're just better than that. But of course, Sarah Jane Nader, we have something. Nader happenings are important news here. But then the story came out like through Duma last night. They posted a video of the two of them like getting into a car. And they saw them out last night together in Brooklyn. And I just feel like it was Gray San and Brooks recording her like getting in the car with Pete. Oh, my God. Sent it to Duma. Like they're just like, it's Gray San. It's by the way, 1000% Gray San, because we all watched Love Thy Nader. We saw like the whole journey of Sarah Nader, like coming out. She's a lesbian, first of all. She's bisexual. Oh. Nevermind. Are you sure? Yeah. On season one, she revealed that she's bisexual. She started dating someone named Alexis Williams. Is that was a girl from the show now? Totally. Take that back. Might add. It was a girl that she used just to bring home to her family and see how they react. Oh, yes. She used that girl. Because that was the painful storyline. That was usery. Um, I just, okay. So I thought for, I thought she was just like straight lesbian and that made this like really PR. So I guess like they could be dating. Yeah. No, they could. They definitely want to do an infant. Like, what are you going to first date for? Like go home. I'm such a Pete Davidson hater. Like, I really believe the deadbeat allegations, but also he would've been also like acting really weird. So I'm kind of like taking, but I could see like, I don't know, the stage photos of him and the upper baby vista like in the park, I'm just not buying it, you know, um, go home. Go home. I've really had enough of Pete Davidson. Yeah. We actually in the book that we just started. Do you think you'll read it? No. Okay. Because one of the story lines is, um, this couple who like always like, there were in a couple. They're friends. They're in a big friend group and two of them like always hooked up throughout the years. They're like, maybe in their late 20s, early 30s. And he starts dating a new girl who like came to town and they're like perfect for each other. Really? And then the girl he used to hook up with sometimes the friend turns out she's pregnant. And she doesn't want to be with him. She like wants to do it on her own and they go through the whole pregnancy and really, and he stays with his like new girl. And then once like the girls pregnant when she finally gives birth, it's like really hard for him to be in a new relationship with a new baby because he wants to be there every night. He wants to be there every day. And then he's really only with her like at night to go to sleep. That's not the time. So lonely and they wind up breaking up because he's like, I want to be with the baby and that means like being with her at her house and like, I can't be here with you. And so eventually I could get to a place where like you can have, you know, a life outside of the baby. But like with a newborn baby, you just can't. So like why are you going on a first date second day? I totally agree. Like, there's a time in a place to have a boyfriend or a girlfriend or go on a first date and having like the newborn phase ain't it? No. Ain't mother fucking it. Like unless you're a single mom and somebody like comes in and like wants to pick a co-parent with you. Like, sure. But this is not that. I think this is so weird. Like I get why Sarah J. Nair is like doing what she has to do. Like when they got the near sisters, like they will be famous. Like whether you like it or not, like they work so hard to maintain their celebrity and like Brooks is obviously like doing the most. But the other girls are like always with their campaigns and paparazzi, like, so this is that. This is that they get dressed in the ninth. They always look great. Yeah. The place looks great. It always does. This is that. It's an easy way to generate a headline and I just know like Grace Han is snickering behind that camera. That was in percent. So that's why I feel like I really used like that girl who went to Louisiana. Yeah. That girl who went to Louisiana with Sarah Jane was like really painful. Grace Han took that video posted as she would do much like generate a headline for Sarah Jane because this is like a good headline for her and whoever Pete dates gets pressed. Of course. Of course. And I am talking about it because I walked into a trap. You did walk into a trap although we didn't need to talk about it. So and I'm actually glad because I thought I thought I thought really low of Pete before but I didn't think low of Sarah Jane and I was like well you're a lesbian and this is obviously fake but I didn't realize she was bisexual. So I'm glad we talked about that just so I could have cleared that up for myself. Yeah. I don't think this is a great love. I don't think it's a great like even. No, it's a joke like for real. It is. And ha ha ha. Yeah. I think Pete was used to which I think Pete actually gets used a lot by like different celebrities. Like probably a hang-up of his. He talks about therapy. Has to be a bad guy. Oh, I can't stand him. Yeah. I've turned into such a hater. And I'm practicing. I was never like one because people were obsessed with him big dick energy like when he was doing Kim. Like everyone was just obsessed with him. I never was. I liked him and Kim together but I never thought he was hot like I'm so glad I never changed my mind on that because like I was able to slip into my hater era very very easily. I didn't have to do a lot of like self work to get there. That's good. Yeah. That's good. And they want us to talk about enemy dead. Great. Our next story, Aaron Rogers is subtly shading his brother Jordan after reconciling with his parents. Yes. So what? Is it on the pamacovies show? No, actually. It was on the pamacovies show. Everything. It was on the pamacovies. I think the other day. And that's where he like came for Travis like, but what is this? What did he say about Travis? He called to Mr. Pfizer, remember? Oh, that's okay. Sorry. I thought you meant came for Travis this week. No, no, no, no. That's where he goes. That's where he goes to like say crazy stuff. Yeah. So you're saying he said the cells were. He said this to the Atlanta to the athletic. Very different. Very different. So he addressed reconciling with his parents explaining that they managed to keep the details of their feud under wraps while other unnamed family members publicly aired the dirty laundry. He said. That is true. He said, I've been really staunch going back to when there was a schism that I feel like stuff should be off limits. No, not everybody in the family adhered to the same thing. He's alluding to when Jordan went on the bachelorette and told viewers about their strangenment. He said, but there are different things, situations, experiences, and people that actually change your life. He shied away from saying Jordan's name, but obviously made it clear that they're still not. Yeah. Reunited. When an entire family is like close and one person is not like, I'm always going to side with the family. So I do think like in the great schism of the Rogers family, like Aaron was definitely wrong because everyone's close and you're not like you're wrong. But I do agree with him that like he can reconcile with everyone, but I think like the thing that even with family you don't talk to, like they're still an unspoken rule. Like we would never tell anyone like, and the fact that Jordan like went on TV and publicized it like really is so like trashy and gross. I could see why Aaron who's clearly crazy is not over it. Yeah. That is like no matter what happened in the family. And we don't know they haven't really shared like what the actual strangenment was caused by. But no matter what it is, like you just don't tell people, like I'm of that from that school itself. Yeah. And also I'm sure the extreme was caused more so by like vibes and dynamics and a little bit of jealousy and money and celebrity and like things that like, you know, you can't really like. Vertical. Yeah. But also like things that can heal over time. But like what you can't undo is something like putting it on blast. It's really true. It's so low. And Aaron Hunter's is like so principled to like his principles that like he'll never get it over. And he's so like rigid. Yeah. That I just think when something's like done for him, it's done. Yeah. And so I'm inclined to take his family side overall. But with Jordan, the Aaron, I kind of agree with Aaron like, Jackie, if you and I ever had a falling out, like when I tell you the world would never know why. Like even if you do the worst thing ever to me, like no, no, they not never know why. Never know. Well, they could figure it out. Maybe we stop liking each other's posts or whatever. Right. But I would never confirm it. And they would never know why. I still don't know why with Jordan and Aaron just to say, what did they just say? This is what he said on the bachelor. This is what he said. Me and Aaron don't really have that much of a relationship. It's just kind of the way he's chosen to do life. And I've chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother. Yeah. It's not ideal. And I love him. I can't imagine what it's like to be in his shoes and have the pressure he has. The demands from people that he has. I don't have hard feelings against him. It's just how things are right now. And when they went to the hometowns and Joe, Joe met Jordan's family, they left like two empty chairs at the dinner table. And then Aaron talked about that in his documentary and he said they go on a bullshit show and leave two empty chairs. They all agree that this is a good thing to do to leave two empty chairs at a stupid dating show that my brother just went on to get famous. His words, not mine. Yeah. I got to stand with Aaron there. In Aaron V. Jordan, like, and so I'm just going to press you because like the people who could do that. I know. I know. I know. Maybe Aaron is not the wrong party. I don't know, like someone who just like, you know, everybody these days is like no contact whatever. And like the person who leaves their families like the hero, according to like whenever I see people talking about it online. I'm just not like that. I'm not like that. I'm sorry. I'm not. Even if you. I'm not like that either. So I am inclined to like think the Rodgers' are like decent people. Yeah, like going on TV and outing, like your very famous brother.
um and like embarrassing him like yeah like I hate that like I think that's disgusting and also like we never expected Aaron Rodgers to be on the whole town for the bachelor they could have just said Aaron's busy he's in Wisconsin like yeah yeah it's all they could have said yeah no it like made it a huge thing and it made them even more famous when it's like coming up follows him to this day i understand my he's pissed yeah of course and he's not someone takes piss being pissed lightly no no he'll be pissed forever but now they have a baby i know maybe it's time for healing uncle Aaron uncle Aaron are you ready for our next story i hate to do it you know i do but the good guys have made the fast five i feel like vomiting because Craig went on the good guys and as you tease i did um they discuss Greg and Kyle's reunion and then being friends now so Ben asked him so you and Kyle are friends and then goes you didn't tell me we're friends with Kyle Craig goes i forgot to call you although i will say like not to make everything about me and thanks for not bringing this up Greg Craig did tell me the night before that he was seeing Kyle that next day so i and i told Ben we were together i forget we were oh i think we're in our life so this is what Craig said he said i'm on this like motivational side of TikTok and i didn't realize that i only related for giving people to those that i thought deserve forgiveness and Kyle was the first person who was a huge challenge to me who i thought i'd never speak to again because i thought that there were things that happen that were unforgivable and so the next day he came to my store like during a pillow party and took pictures with the fans and the joy that it brought the fans to see me and him not hate each other for some reason just triggered something in my head i was like what oh wow it didn't cost anything i feel lighter you could instantly instantly see the reaction of people that support us now i've seen a lot of reactions to Craig's statements here and i think people don't really understand that like Craig is really emotional like obviously we know him from tv but like he's really like that in real life and like he takes things very like personally and hard and so like i could see him like yeah being inspired by a TikTok to forgive his friend like honestly and it's in an earnest way for real because there's not people in the comments being like this is so like i rule and it's like no like he's really genuine he is he's like an MF and i could see like this beautiful event in his store which he takes so much pride in his store and you know Kyle bringing all this joy to people i could see him like being deeply moved by that i really yes and like inspired by the way that people feel about them do you ever have that where like you hate someone you're so mad at someone and like you feel like you'll never get over it and then like you're with them or around them and just something just like changes disappears disappears and it lifts and it's like you do feel better and yeah like why can't we all get along yeah no but it's like before that at home like the idea is like it's impossible i would never forget this just something in the air yes i do where it's just like you know what this is better than how it felt to not yeah so i understand that i do too and you know like i like forgiveness it's a beautiful thing and healing yes and then as Craig said let's just hope nothing happens further correct yeah i think that's fair yeah although i'm not really into like this whole like renaissance of Kyle cook and like rewriting of his history like well it's a separate it could be a separate combo yeah i'm just like this also adds to it because like you know Craig who everyone loves is like endorsing Kyle now and it's like i just want to go out on a record and say like i still think he's a bad guy yeah there was a conversation a little bit about that at the in the city reunion good where someone like just acknowledges that almost like he should be thanking Amanda because he was about to be canceled absolutely so stupid like god forbid i'd be a man and get divorced like that the man is always going to get the hate on the side of a divorce and it's like god forbid you curse out your wife in the bathroom act like a degenerate for 10 years correct that correct so i'm not like loving that journey that everyone seems to be on of like complete amnesia like completely forgetting who Kyle cook is and has been for 10 years um and i think that this only like furthers that narrative but i'm happy fun yeah and i guess like Ben has his own separate beef with Kyle it's kind of like the same it is the same but like he called Ben a liar so like yeah he called them both liars yeah but like Craig has forgiven yeah and like Ben is a forgiving guy i feel like well i've said literally countless times you can't forgive someone who hasn't apologized and the window of us like because i keep saying if Kyle ever apologized like yeah sure i don't need to but the window which is left the windows like pretty much closed how long do i have to wait for an apology two years i guess so you have about 30 days somebody remind me in 30 days that the windows over someone tell him he has 30 days to make a man's trip are you ready for our fourth story i'm actually so excited about this i just saw this this morning there's like a lot there's a lot here it's about the it happened one summer movie adaptation okay wait it happened one summer he's the best book of all time it's the best book of all time it happened one summer is that the right spot 10 years ago is a book by tesabaley it's the best smut book of all time top three for sure and i think that for like what what Evelyn Hugo did for like readers it happened one summer he did for smut like i think it's the first smut book a lot of people read and it just make some obsessed with the category yes it's an amazing adorable book it's an amazing adorable book and it was bought the rights to make a movie a while ago and it just sort of sat there and i expected nothing was happening but things are happening not only has another casting happened but this casting has showed me who the other players are yeah because there's been other casting okay so there's like the two sisters yes so we read the sisters sequel no it's stunk no bridge too far so we have piper and we've had piper that was her name piper is being played by Nina Dobrev oh i hate that oh no that's so bad it's it's not good it's it's not the worst it could be no it is the worst it's not great also not to be like a pedophile but like it's like a porny type of thing and i feel like she don't do porn like oh you're gonna want to see some ass entities yeah and she don't do that right i don't know what she doesn't she doesn't do that i don't know what she does um it was i respect i want to say like tenfold yes so she is piper they've actually already started filming oh my god i'm so upside and then tyler hocklin oh you know what we've had this conversation because i've seen this fucking tyler hocklin is Brendan he's Brendan and yeah i think that this looks like a really bad photo but it doesn't mean by photo but like he's supposed to like he has Brendan potential yeah he does he does he does that picture on the bottom left he's got to put on a few pounds but he has a brand new to this like really sort of like he's a rugged fisherman um i know that they can sound like much fisherman but it's when that's scene when she realizes that he's rich it's who best fuck sorry it's the best book um i'm so upset no i know because like the character of piper it's very akin to like um what's the name of david rose the sister alexus rose yes she's like this you know wealthy ares who gets laid out or mansion and put cutoff and sent to the pacific north west and she's like funny and dizzy but with so much art and it's very alexus rose yeah this is such a bad guy i mean a dober i like doesn't have that energy not only does he need a dober i've not have that energy this is gonna be mean and i'm not like i need a dober of hater at all but she's just gonna like a fake actress i know she was in the vampire diaries and i never saw that but after that everything she does is like a fake hallmark movie and i was hoping for more from this honestly i would love to be wrong and like please play this episode for me in a year when i'm like loving the show i really think that this is such a bad casting i'm so upset yeah you know who would have been good to the girl who plays l you're obsessed with her you're obsessed with literally no anyone and yeah a lot of people oh and then like the reason that this news came out today is because gavin leather wood will be playing fox thorton that's the friend that's the who ends up being the romantic artist for the sister who gets his sequel he's the dean dillarentis okay show me a picture gavin thorton and he's from something is that gavin from um the summer trip pretty i know his name is gavin sorry gavin leather wood let's see gavin leather wood what a name and where is the show going to be netflix this is gavin leather wood do you know him i don't think so he looks like daren kress i'm hating all of us i just want to say like so far i have a zero hope he was in sex lives of college girls yes oh who was he who was he would wait zoom in show me another picture of him i will i will hold on we just have to figure out who he was from from sex wives niko oh the brother the mr. he's very cute yeah and then he didn't come back for season two what didn't he come back i don't know but here you go that's like i know what he looks like yeah yeah yeah okay acceptable acceptable yeah i agree past his master but honestly barely there it's like so much potential here and this isn't like so excited no it's not but it is exciting that the movie will come oh to movie yes and they're all really filming right now in new york city so maybe she's like a city girl who gets cast out also fine these types of books i don't i do feel are better suited for series than movies yeah i guess so a movie feels like weird yeah i'm confirming that it's a movie but it's all the same honestly no but like a series it's like and who's just like film so quickly these days film film and you know i think that looks stinks of book adaptations but also like this is your sign to read it happened one summer before the movie ruins it i feel like everyone listening like has read it it's like it is a movie have new listeners a writer passage before the movie ruins the book you should read it yeah maybe i won't even see it because i think back so fondly to that book and the main character she's just so she really is the
the whole book. She, because the second book stinks because she's not in it. Like she has this great, funny personality. She's really sweet, but like she's funny and she's like a little mean. It's really good. And like a little shallow but so deep. Of course. And it takes her, of course, like this great love to find that depth. And it's beautiful. Are you ready for our fifth and final story? I am. A little more relationship news because traders is Rob Roush has hardwashed his relationship with the glimpse into his Japan vacation with his girlfriend Chloe Chen. Hearts are breaking everywhere. Yes. People like New Year's girlfriend, because he did say that at the beginning, just like no one listened, you know? And he, like, keeps saying it because he's like, I don't want to share my relationship, but I want you guys to think I'm keeping a secret. So we keep saying, like I have a girlfriend. And for some reason, it's just like not landing. Yeah. It's not sick. It's kind of an inconvenient truth because they don't know her and she's not like explaining his relationship. But he like did confirm it in the series of photos. They took a trip to Japan. They're like very serious. Yeah. But which is really nice. Like he, he's an interesting cat. He's very smart. Aside from winning traders, like the way he just like goes about his business. Agreed. He's very savvy. He's interesting to me. And like smart enough to know not to air his personal life. Yes. And I think that for someone who came from love Island, like you do not see that a lot. No. You see the total opposite. Yeah. Just like exploitation of like every area of your life. Correct. Like if you actually like want to protect something, you should keep it as private as you can. Of course. So that was interesting. Yeah. And so like this is just another reminder, like Rob Roush does have a girlfriend. And I'm sorry. I know that's hard for a lot of people to hear. Yeah. And they seem like really happy. And I think we can ship it. He's not giving us anything to even ship. No, he's just like keep reminding like I'm not single. But this is a hard launch. So maybe it's like the beginning of more. I like keeping it yourself. Yeah. I will never just like someone for keeping something personal to themselves. I think it's a sign of intelligence. I agree. They have zero sugars, zero gummy additives, just clean nutrition, and the crazy thing is that kids actually love them. They taste the experience, the bottle, my nieces and nephews love like the way that they run across the house when it's time to take their vitamins, makes it so easy. They worked alongside pediatrician and nutrition scientists, the chewable multivitamins of powerful blend of 12 organic fruits and veggies, plus 15 essential vitamins and minerals. [email protected]. That's the email or head over to our website, thetoastpodcast.com. This little submission box totally anonymous. You don't have to worry about any of that. Ready? Which one should I start? Oh, he's furly. This weekend I noticed something was off with my boyfriend. I got on Instagram later in the day and I saw that his friend got engaged. This friend is a girl who has been friends with since college and they currently work together. They work in finance and in a heavy drinking work culture so they're together all the time. The whole weekend he was so miserable to be around and so snappy. We've been together for almost five years. We're talking about getting engaged, but we haven't even looked at rings or anything. Am I wrong to be concerned at how weird he was being and think that it correlates to her engagement? Help. I'm spiraling. Yeah, if it is, we don't know why he's in a mood. It could be something else, but if he is in a mood because his friend got engaged. Who's a girl? Really weird. Yeah, and I would just bring up the engagement to him and see if he flinch his. Yeah, we also could just be making this outfit. That's why he's upset. Then see how he reacts, but you could also have a conversation if he seems to have a poor reaction and be like, how does that make you feel? Yeah. And I don't know how old you are, but five years and you haven't looked at rings. Yeah, like I would start putting pressure. Oh, for sure. That's just like a long time. I would be putting pressure. It's that's what you want. I mean, I think it is. She says we're talking about getting engaged, but have not looked at rings or anything. Yeah, you know, but like some people have different wants. So if that's what you want, some people have different wants. That's true. But like I'm just assuming that she wants to be engaged. To be engaged in a timely manner. Yeah, I think like most women do. Not everyone, of course. And it's okay, you don't. It's okay, you know, not everyone, but some of us do. So if you're some of those people, but pressure, you did ask like, could be making this up. And for that, like, you need to move on. But it's also like not a great idea to like put pressure when he's like in him. Right. And he's like pining over another girl. Question. Yeah. This. You have to bring it up to him and just like study him, be like a body language expert. Because either like, yes, either like this man, I mean, everyone's allowed to be in a mood. It happens to me all the time. But either like, he's in love with another girl. And then you're just what the girl who wasted five years, like, you kind of need to hop on this as you figure this out. Have you ever had a feeling about them before this? Like, is there any history or wear behavior or text messages? Like anything? Do you know that they like hooked up in college? Like, is there anything? Or you're just straight up pulling inside of thin air? Because sometimes like when you're someone's in a bad mood, like sometimes there's no reason. Yeah. Like maybe it's on his period, you know? Like, but sometimes there is a reason. If he is confirmed in a bad man because she got engaged, like, you have a problem. But that's not necessarily the case. And also, like, you could have a crush or whatever, but like to be so upset for a few days. And like, not be happy for your friend. No, no, but let's see, like, he likes her a lot. To be so upset by someone's engagement, like that it affects your mood for multiple days. Like, you're in love with her. Like it's
It's not just a crush, like you'd love her, bro. - Yeah, I kind of shit, but I'm totally getting it. - But you have to find out. - Yeah, but then you can tell her-- - Her fiance would be single. I love a little partner, so far. - Oh, very Shania Twain. - I love that. - Shania Twain has been left for her for her best friend, and then Shania Twain ended up with the husband. With the best friend's husband, ex-husband. Who else does that happen to? Famous swaps. - There was someone else recently. I don't know. - Okay, look at it. I don't know if you'll be able to get like a succinct answer. - What are famous celebrity spouse swaps like Shania Twain? - The Shania one is really crazy. - Yeah. - I think maybe Chad will know what I'm saying. The Shania Twain is probably the most famous example of the spouse swap, and then, oh, Reba and Laura Stroud. Reba's ex-husband, Blacksock. Later, Marie Laura, who had been one of Reba's close friends, Reba did not marry Laura's ex, though. - Yes. - Not the same. - Yes. - Not the same. Only you can tell us, like, if you think this man, like you might just be drama queen or you might be like dead on balls. Good luck with that. Hey, girl, it's Hurley's. I am sick with this appointment. This one actually makes me sick. My husband has an investment that's been very profitable. We've pulled out money to help us build our life together. Yesterday, the investment took a nose dive and we're down almost a million dollars. Before this, we discussed multiple times exit strategies that he ignored. I am very conservative, and I've asked that we pull out money to buy a bigger home for our growing family, give us stability to allow me to continue to stay at home. I feel so betrayed and angry. Money's a hot button issue, and spending for our family doesn't compare to this huge money loss. Help. How do I navigate this? I'm feeling angry undervalued and like our partnership is a sham. He did what he wanted to do, and we're both hurting. Signed, a toaster with intense cardboard anxiety. - Okay, I need to, I need to, like, just wrap my head around this because they had an investment that was doing really well. - Right. - And I think she wanted to be like, let's call it. Like, let's take it out. This money can continue to let me stay at home. - And like, let's just take our W and leave. And he was like, no. - Okay, well, I think it took out the money that they did along the way. - No, well, yeah, but they didn't really like. - Well, you know, she said a bigger house. But then they pulled out over the, like, little amounts, yeah, thank God. - But like, you have this good investment, but like, he still has a job. - The investment doesn't pay your day-to-day bill, so it was like a nice thing. - Not with this girl, right? - No, I'm sick over the loss of a million dollars, but like, how does it change your day-to-day right this minute if it was just sitting there? - I don't think she's worried so much about like, how her day-to-day is going to change. It's like, she is an equal partner in this marriage. And like, she wanted to take it out and she just got ignored. And look, she ended up being right. And if she ended up being wrong, like, we wouldn't be talking about it, but like, honestly, you get to make your point because you lost a million dollars. - Yeah. - I'm sick for you. I am sick for you. It's a cardboard nightmare. - And then like, when you lose, when the investment goes to zero, like, you still own those stocks, right? - Yeah, so that I'm thinking it's like an investment portfolio. And so, yes, while if the stocks are worth zero right now, it can always go up. - So you don't take company is worth zero. - You definitely don't like, oh, nothing, you own the companies, right? - Yeah. - It looks something like that. - Yeah, so not all is lost. But if it was always like this nest egg for the future and like, we have this like pot of gold waiting for us that wouldn't have affected your day-to-day. - No. - So you should be okay. - I think she's gonna be like fine in terms of. - You're just frustrated that you weren't listened to and you lost a million dollars. - I mean, that is frustrating. - Yeah, but you had a million dollars to lose. - No, guys. - I don't know, that seems like it's your whole nest egg, like your whole savings and everything. I'm really sorry, that's terrible. I would obviously use this as a teachable moment. Because he wasn't listening to you regardless and if it things ended up going well, he'd be like, see. But the fact that I went wrong, like only sort of proves for the next time, like you should be listened to. So I would like obviously lament over the million dollars, but be like superly happy that you get to say you were right. - You get to say you were right. - When the argument and hold it over him, right? And hopefully like this informs future decisions, like that one time I didn't listen to Katie, should we lost a million dollars? Maybe I should listen to Katie now. - It was his investment. - Their investment. - I don't understand, my husband has an investment. That's been very profitable. - Yeah. - I'm sorry, your husband doesn't have anything. Like you all have stuff. - Oh, no, no, you all do, but like it's, it was initially like his, so if he wants to steer the ship on his investment, he's like, I made the good investment again. - Like one, two of kids, like it becomes a joint decision. - Of course, but like, so say he doesn't want to sell the stock and she does. We're at a standstill, yes. - Like who has more weight? - Well, now you could say that you were right and a big fat I told you so. And that's a very small silver lining. - I know all the things that she was saying at the end, she's like worried about, she can't tell you. - She's feeling angry, yeah. - Of the valued and like our partnership is a sham. That's drama. - That's drama, your partnership is not a sham. - He did what he wanted to do, but now we're broke. - And he took some out along the way. I hope it was a lot. I hope you have a gorgeous house. I'm just like, live there. And I guess she stopped to work and like, oh, but. - So she doesn't work, she stays at home, but like. - Oh, she doesn't need that money for her to stay at home. - Right, but they weren't taking it out? - No, they were. - Okay. - I'm really sorry, like obviously this is. - I feel like I've lost my mind. - I feel like throwing up for you. And I know that that is not what you want to hear, but just so you know, like. Money's a social construct, okay? - I just am very glad that they've taken it out along the way, didn't lose all of the money. - Yeah, but I don't think they took it out like a ton. I'm just like not getting that vibe. - I just like tell myself they did. - All right, third and final. He's kidding swirlies. I need advice on whether or not I should keep a secret from my husband. I think, while I'm almost positive, that he used the same cup IP in to test my LH to clean his retainers. The other morning, I grabbed a plastic cup from this decorative set that we have. We never drink from them. Really only use them for arts and crafts and other like non-drinking needs. I peed in it to test my LH to rinse it out quickly with water and then set it to the side to take it to be washed that evening. Well, I clearly forgot this morning. I washed it to the bathroom and I noticed the cup has been moved over to his side of the sink and had his retainer cleaning solution in it. This is not the kind of cup we throw away in the dishwasher and sink where empty too. My husband is a level 10 German phobia if you found out I think he would throw up. Do you think I should tell him, take it to my grave. - Thanks, the place looks great. - Take it to your grave. Pia's sterile, it's not a big deal. - Yeah, although, obviously don't tell him. Like seriously, what doesn't kill him? Make some stronger. - And they will make him stronger. - They like me to come up with a better solution. Like I, I remember now, it's like testing my LH for food. (laughs) You wake up and you have to do it first thing in the morning. So, if you're sitting on the toilet and you're like, "Wait, you can't get up." Like it has to be your first day. I literally, like many times, I have this huge can of hair spray, big sexy hair. You know the big red one. And I took the cap off and I just peed in the cap. Like you desperate times. - Wow. - And I take the strip and put it in the water of the bowl. - No. - I like to use a red solo cup. - Yeah, that you leave it-- - Yeah, swap it out here and there. - So I used a red solo cup that I would like rinse and leave. But then when I had like a housekeeper come once or twice a week, she obviously threw it out. So like the day after I didn't know. And I would be like, "All right, time for the hair spray bottle." - Yeah. You gotta keep a stack of solo cups. Just like you keep a stack about like with your strip. - They need to come up with like a better-- - They need to come up with like a bowl like holding your toilet that catches your pee that you can test. And then just like put it into the bottom of the toilet. Yeah. Now when you like would have a red cup, would you ever reuse it or now? 'Cause I feel like I would reuse it for like many days. - I think I would reuse it. - And you rinse it like with just hot water. Do you rinse it with soap? - No. - No, because I don't want the soap to contaminate this soap. - No, of course, of course. I just thought like you would think it was gross. - No, no, no. Peace, Sarah. I'm not scared of pee. - Peace, Sarah. - I'm not scared of pee. - Actually you could tell your husband that. It's probably makes a great retainer cleaning solution. - Don't tell him because-- - No, you're fine. - And like sometimes it's like, he's fine. So there's nothing that he needs to know and we just make him sick. - Right, so what do you want to make sure you try to hurt him? - And it's like you're just saying it's like alleviate your burden. When it's like actually the nicest thing you could do for him is to carry the burden very selfish. You should carry the burden. And really it's not a big deal. Seriously. - Yeah, today's segment is burden yourself. - Maybe like you're trying to get pregnant. Like he can drink a little pee. - That's so good. - You're going to use for ten months. - God willing, God willing. - He cracked open, so true. And your husband can't drink a little pee. - I don't think so. - Grow up, so true. Grow up. - Thank you for writing in.
