I'm still not awake. Can anyone hear me? He's a son. Can you make sure my grandma's song isn't in this? He's not in this? How would your chrome hearts thong be in that? In case my legs are open. Cassidy, your legs are closing. You just want them to know that you're ready to chrome hearts thong. What was your favorite part about last night? What'd you do? Oh, Cass kept trying to talk to me last night. And I said, shh, shh, shh, I was trying to go to bed and I said, shh, do you not remember that? Oh, when we were going to sleep. Yes. He wanted nothing to do with me. That's how it usually goes, seems to become a pattern in my life, but therapy has helped. Oh, you're tickling my feet. Okay. Ryan just found a study, or I guess, P.M. found a study, and this wasn't mean that was actually suggested. She says, studies to sleepovers are good for your well-being. Yes, comma, even for adults. We actually agree with that. I always wake up happier when I sleep somewhere. If I don't sleep somewhere, I wake up to press and I, like, can't get out of bed. So I feel like it's good for your mental health. Cassie, you don't have many sleepovers a week. I sleep at Payton's weekly. Payton can't sleep alone, but also she wakes up with coffee every single time I sleep over. He is? Is the world's best friend? Yeah, she is. She wakes me up with a banana, or what they call it, an ice coffee. Because we have severe attachment issues. What do you mean by that? Do you want to elaborate? I think it's how we view men in general. It's like we're very attached to people who don't want us, because we live for the chase, which is something we both need to work on in therapy. And I have been working on it, but it's like, I don't want a man who doesn't, what's funny about this? What's funny about my trauma? I just didn't think we'd get here. Well, I'm talking to the hammer shut up. I don't want a man who wants me back, because I know that like if a nice guy was taking me on a date, now I'm sorry I'm rambling, but if a nice guy was taking me on a date or like wanting me, I wouldn't want him because I know like, oh, it could go somewhere. So like unintentionally, but like my subconscious goes for people who literally don't want me back or like can't get in a relationship, because I'm not ready for a relationship. And me? Yeah, I do. So too. I think it's a pattern with us three. So tonight we have on Maddie Zeagler, who I love dearly. Oh my God. She's perfect. Did you know that? No. Oh, wait, I'm really excited. She's perfect and beautiful and stunning. She and her, she looked so beautiful. She's, she is drop dead. She dropped dead. She is actually drop dead. Yeah, she is. So Maddie, if you're hearing this, you're stunning. Well, she's in the new movie Pretty Leethal. Maddie, I love you, Netflix. I love you. I love you. Pain and mine. I love you. Enjoy the episode, Pussies. Hi, Pussies. Welcome back to Therapus. Today or tonight, we have, I don't know which one is it. You really turned that on. That was amazing. Really? Yeah, that was good. Yeah. I was like, oh, Ed. Well, we're on. And it's either tonight, today or tomorrow, or I don't, okay, whatever. It's one of the days. Because we have the iconic, yes, yes, actress, dancer, extraordinaire, Maddie Seagler. Thank you for having me. And your new movie, Pretty Leethal, is out now. Where did you guys shoot? Did you shoot? Sorry, I just, where did you shoot? We shot on location in Budapest. I was gonna ask. Budapest. What was it like? I was saying that. I feel like I just say Budapest because I just. It is Budapest, huh? I know, but people say Budapest. I was saying Ibiza and Ibiza. 100%. Same shit. Yeah, we were there. We shot for three months. It was so fun. We all were just living on the same floor of a hotel and just living our best lives. It was such a fun time. What's the day-to-day in Budapest, outside of filming, what's life like there? I mean, the architecture is beautiful. Right. The food, they had amazing Asian cuisine there, which I was so shocked by. What? Is it near Asia? I'm homeschooled, so I can't give you that. You know what? I used to think Florida was at the top of the map. Literally. But last. Yeah, I thought it went to New York, Florida, Los Angeles. That's okay. There was amazing. Like Thai food and stuff? Yes. 100%. Oh, yum. But honestly, I was so tired, like, because we were working all day, every day. But like, and like doing full stunt and dance work all day in point shoes. So we did go to some like fun random Hungarian bars, which was fun. And you were there for three months. Yeah. Because you've been in a lot of movies, but was this time one of your first times being first on the call sheet? Um, it's a newer thing for me. Yeah. Yeah. This was like, maybe this third time, I was number one. Okay. But it felt. I was kind of like, oh, I'm just number one. They had it at that point, like, cast who Uma's character was going to be. So I was like, once she comes, I'll get knocked to number two. Right. Still now. I still see number one, which was crazy. That's cool. How do you, as first on the call sheet, do you like actively think about like, oh, I have a responsibility to create like this type of environment, or do you just kind of like let it flow? I think it has to be a mixture of both, because if you overthink it, then it's just going to be too much. But I definitely think you have a responsibility as number one, and you like have to set the tone for the environment. And like, everyone will move accordingly, you know, I'm like, be gracious to everyone, be kind to everyone. It was interesting to you, because like, not everyone spoke English when we were there. People like the crew. Yeah, because there was a lot mainly Hungarian crew. And so it was fun to like, kind of like, mash our worlds together and pick up on new things and new terms. And like, yeah, but it definitely, I was like, I have to set the tone. And also, like, it's funny, because I think I've said this before, but like, they were people when we got there. They were like, we didn't know if you five girls would get along, like, we honestly thought it would be like a shit show. And I'm like, what? Like, and you all got along great and it was okay. We were best friends. Oh, that's awesome. It was a stereotype of like, put five girls in a room, they're going to hate each other and like, cat fight. I'm like, no. Right. Right. Right. Or sister. Like, it was a very beautiful bond that we had. Do you have any like, really funny memories? Um, or is it like, you had to be there? You have to. Yeah. Because I do a sequel. And look at you in. Thanks. I'll be the male ballerina. But I've tried, like, explaining certain things that are like so funny. I know. I'm like, you really just had to be there. I know. And it's so awkward when you're telling it and you're laughing and the other person's like, listening like, oh my god, yeah, that's so funny. But do you have one that came to mind? I won't look at you while you tell if you're scared that I won't laugh. Okay. Well, this isn't a funny memory. It's a memory. But this is like a moment that I'll never forget is like, well, Uma loved to knit in between every take. She was making this beautiful sweater the whole time we were shooting. And she gave us all knitting kids as like a wrap gift, which was really sweet. I love when people that are so extraordinary have such not small, because knitting is not small. But like the knitting community is like up in arms, but like have such kind of like very normal hobbies. Yeah. Do you know what I mean? For sure. It's like, I think she was just like, you have to find like the, I'm sure you, like, through working and filming, you probably feel this too, like, how do I find the calm amongst the storm? I feel like I'm learning. It's hard. It's really hard. Like self-sooth, and that's like a very like self-soothing thing. How do you self, self-sooth, self-sooth? I, well, I'm still learning, but I, if you notice, I, I won't do it now, but I normally twisting my hair 24/7. Really? It's like, I think everyone calls out, like I'm constantly playing with my hair. And I've done it since I was, my mom's like, when I used to like get you from your crib when your baby, your hair would be like suffocate, like wrapped around your finger. So I've just, it's been a thing forever. Did you like, actively choose to stop? Do we not? Was it like a whole? Oh, I haven't stopped. Oh, you still do it? Yeah, I still do it. I mean, if that's what works for you, that works for you at least. It's like, it's better than like, pills. Oh, for sure. You know, like, but we were talking before, and you said you've known Tessa to her nine years old. Yeah. Do you guys just pass each other in dance competitions? Yeah, we used to compete against each other, and she was like, she beat me at like our big award show, it was like the biggest thing you can win called the dance awards, and she won it. And I've like, never been like, I was such a fan of her. Normally, when I was younger, I was like a sore loser, like, if I didn't win, I was like really upset. Well, how could you not be at that age? Yeah. And that's what I was taught, you know? So, like, but she, I was just so inspired by her, and I loved her. And then there was a dancing with a, sorry, so you think you can dance juniors? Yes, I remember. I was a judge on that, and I judged her. She was one of the contestants. So we like, it was so weird. Is that how you guys became friends? Well, technically, we weren't really allowed to be friends, because it's like, you can't talk to the judge, because then I'm like, oh really, they're strict about that. Yeah. So we had to wait.
wait until after we wrap. - And then you. - And then we were friends. And then we just knew each other. But I feel like when I was around 16, 17, we got close again and started hanging out in LA. And I love her so much. She's killing it. - Oh, that's so awesome. She's the best. - She's literally the best. - Yeah, it's so funny. Like all these, it's funny. Like sometimes I guess you can feel like what's happening in your world is like the biggest thing on planet Earth. But there are all these different communities. Like there's the cheer community. There's the dance community. There's the book community. There's like all these different like lanes and all these different worlds that you don't even know about. - I know. - And was it like stressful to be a part of the dance world or did you like love it and do you look back at it with like gratitude and grace, justness? - I loved the dance world so much. And I still feel very like welcomed by it. It's cool 'cause like this film has brought me back into the dance world in so many ways. But I mean, there's obviously like so much trauma and every dancer experiences that. Whether you're like you go down the path I did, which is not conventional or not, you know, like you have that sort of like, there's just a lot that goes on in the dance world. It's very toxic in a lot of ways. But it's also like my favorite community. And the dance world is so small. I feel like all our industries are just so small and everyone knows everyone. - They feel so loud. - Yeah, but like for sure. But like Tate for instance is like, it's so cool to see where we both started and to see where she is now. And we're just doing our thing and it's so cool to support each other. And I'm just like grateful that we have that comtability of like kind of like supporting one another. So. - Yeah, it's also cool. It's like you've merged your dance career with Aqdan. Now to pursue Aqdan and she's merged dancing with singing to pursue singing. And it's like very cool to see all like you guys intersect these like different communities and like bring what you've learned into one and to the other. - 100%. And Addison too is like a great example. - Yeah, a great example. - She's one of my best friends. And I like, I'm so proud of her too. And she's just absolutely killing it. - Was she in like the dance world as a kid as well? - Yeah. - Really? - Yeah. - She was. It's so funny, when she first got to LA when she like blew up on TikTok, she was staying at my house. She was friends with my sister. - No way. - I would like, they would have sleep over. I like pierced her ear, I think, before I even was friends with her. I took her to like a workout with my sister. - Uh-huh. - And then years later now we're like friends. - Yeah. - And she's just like, she's perfect. - And the album's just outstanding. - It was my favorite album last year. - It's so good. - So good, I wish I was like in a, like a, I want it, I want that to be like my summer anthem, that album. - It is also, do you hike? - No. - I'm like the most un-infusy I hate hiking more than like it's now. - Okay, we'll never mind. - All I'm gonna say is that if you do hike and you're losing motivation, put that shit on and you will run so fast. - I see that for that album. - I like, when I need some motivation, I'm like I need to get up this hill and high fashion. All those songs like get me going. - Yeah, that would get me going. For me, that's like Ari. I'll put on like Ari and like really get it going. What are you listening to right now? Cause we just talked about how to sing the album. But what are you listening to? - Obviously, Addison on repeat. But also, I'm back on my anti-rayana kick. - You know, it's because it's 2016 again. - And that's what started it. She was like I won 2016 when that was popular. You know, like she posted that. - She said I won. - She was like, I win. - Yeah, she does, she does win. - She does win. - I literally, it's no skips. That's why I feel about Addison's album, no skips. But like, Rihanna's album, that, I mean, it's one of the greatest pieces of art, like ever. And I will never stop listening. I never get old. I'm like, how has it been 10 years? Also me listening to it 10 years ago, like I'm 13 and I'm like listening to like 15. - Yeah, I'm back on that. What are you listening to? - I am listening, right now I'm like in my, do you listen to Casey Masquerade's? - No, I don't. - Do you like country at all? - Oh really? - No, no, no, so here's the thing. Casey is the one to get you into country. - Okay. - And that's what everybody says. - Okay. - Because her album, basically I've been going back to her album Golden Hour. - Okay, yes, I know that. - Oh my God. It basically, there's this pitch for, you know, pitch for. There's this review of it and they basically say, like she talks about the world as if she's the first and only one to have her experience at. - Oh my God. - And it's so, no, it's so, like talk about skip-less. It really is just like, for me it covers like every emotion I could go through like while falling in love with like platonically or romantically or just like experiencing the world and like becoming myself. And like, I just think, yeah, it's a really good album. - So I should start with Golden Hour. - Start with Golden Hour, what I remember finding her when I was in seventh grade because she like came out with this song called "Follow Your Arrow" and I just thought it was like really cool to like-- - It was so stunning. - Just dropped out. And there's this other song called "Mary Go Round" and I thought her like word play on it was really cool. - Okay. - But start with Golden Hour. - Okay, I'll get into that. I trust your opinion. - Yeah, I start with Golden Hour really like, it's, what do you think Louise? - I'm obsessed with this album. If I could recommend one, it would be "Slow Burn". "Slow Burn". - Oh yeah, "Slow Burn". Basically, she's like her being like, it's funny because "Slow Burn" opens the album with being, like I can play it chill as a lover. Like I'm fine with a "Slow Burn" but then you hear her and other songs be like, I am bugging the fuck out, right? It's like super cool. - Okay. - Look at him to it. - Go for "Golden Hour". - Okay. - Maybe I'll revisit and is it anti-ranteed? - Anti, right? - I never know, that's why I kind of say it quietly. - Yeah, yeah. - I'm gonna visit 2016, Rihanna. - Yeah, I'm going to for sure. - Okay, okay. - It's gonna put you in, like I was listening to the shower the other day and I was like, I feel so sexy right now. - Oh, I know. It makes me feel like I want to cigarette. I want to grab a little girl out like that's what that makes me. But I'm putting myself out of commission from going out for like at least three weeks. - I'm a home body, so I can't relate. - Are you an actual home body? - Yeah. - What? - I will get out if I need to, but it's like, if I have the option, I am not leaving my house. - What do you do when you stay at home? - Watch movies, TV shows, hang out with my dog. - What are you watching right now? - Oh, I also have to talk to you about something. - What? - I have to give you the biggest thank you ever because you are the reason I watched "Candle." - The Bachelor of All Time. - I know. - The Bachelor of All Time, do you finish? - Yeah. - Pinnacle television. On season number two is the one of the great- - Season two is the best thing ever. I also, like, I'm just so grateful for you for that experience because it was like- - So how do you got to have the experience of "Candle?" It's literally like the Bachelor of Ever. - It's crazy. - I just find it to be like, "I've rewatched it now," I think like three times. And I just love a show that so much happens that you're like, "How did this much happen "within this band of one episode?" And then you forget what happened so you can rewatch it. - Yes, 100%. - What are some of your other favorite shows? - Well, like, I love "Breaking Bad." - Oh, so good. - I love how to get away with "Murder," too. - Okay, I haven't done it. That's what I'm doing. - Thank you. - You just prescribed me what I needed to add. - Oh my God, I'm so glad. - I'm doing how to get away with "Murder." - You have to watch. - Really that good. - It's incredible. - It's incredible. - It is amazing. - The crossover episode went like, you know, - I think I've seen the crossover episode 'cause I was watching "Scandal," they have. - They have a crossover and then-- - Yes, I haven't seen the "How to Get Away with "Murder," one, but I've seen the "Scandal" one. - Also, Viola Davis is literally my everything. - Yes, you see. - I'm obsessed. - Okay, so I'll watch "How to Get Away" with "Murder." - You have to watch. - Okay, I'm excited. - Ooh, okay. - It's good. It's like that world is just so good. - The "Shondaland." - Do you watch "Ridritu?" - That's the one I haven't watched yet. - I haven't done it yet either. My best friend, Julia. - Okay. - That is her, like, she loves it. - Okay, isn't there, like, four seasons out? - Yeah, so basically, it's like "Gossip Girl" of "Gossip." The way it was described to me and sold to me was that it was like "Gossip Girl" of "Gossip Girl" was in the 1800s. - Okay, I can get down to that. - That's what I said too, but I struggle. - Okay. - I struggle with, like, have you ever been in a period piece? I'm so sorry if you haven't. - I, well, like, West Side Story, I guess is, yeah. - To me, that doesn't necessarily count. I'm talking, like, 17, 18 hundreds. - No, no, no. - Okay. - I want to though. - You do? - Yeah, I do. - Do you like period pieces? - I just want to get into, like, the whole fantasy of, like, the wardrobe and the hair and makeup of it all. - Okay, totally. - But, like, hot, not, like, not that-- - I mean, it's hard to be sexy when there's no deodorant and shower, isn't it? - Yeah. - So, like, yeah, it would be sad. - But, like, their corsets and everything are, like, - Yeah, that's Bridgerton. - Okay. - And they'll play, like, thank you next on Violin. - No, they won't. - Yes. - No, they will not. - They do. - Yes, they do. I literally looked at Julia and said, 'cause I knew they did, thank you, that's, but that she told me they did Yukon. And I said, no, that is not okay. - And I said, no, that is not okay. - Yukon on the Violin. - Oh, my gosh, that's so funny. - I need to see it just to, now I'm like, I have to-- - 100%. - 100%. - Are you an Iris close? - Yeah. - I adore her. - I love Iris. - She's amazing. - She's like 12 too. - Really? - Yeah. - How long have you lived in LA for? - Like 12 years. - Was it a difficult move? - No, 'cause I had already been coming here for work all the time, and then I, yeah, I just like, we got a house, and it was fun. It was like, I wanted to be here. I needed to get out of Pittsburgh. - Yeah. - Like, are you a Steelers fan though, still? Or were you ever? - I'm not really, like, I don't really understand sports. - So I understand two things about sports. - Okay. - If you're from Philly, you love the Eagles. - Yeah. - Love the Eagles. - Okay, are you from Philly? - No, but my manager is. - Okay. - And he's like, I can't speak to him on Sundays. If he goes, lose, it's about me. - Okay, he's like, really? - Like, he's like, type of person. - Go Birds. (laughing) - You're literally Go Birds. - Go Birds, Go Steelers. - I mean, they just take it real seriously. - Yeah.
I mean, I feel like that's anyone who's just dedicated to their team. If I had a team do as well as the Eagles do every year, I'd be just as passionate. Oh, so do they do so well all the time? Oh my god, they win all the time every year. Well, I've go birds. Yeah, yeah. Well, ghost dealers. Right. And the ones for my brothers played hockey growing up. So like, I guess you could say I'm a penguins fan, which is like our home team in Pittsburgh. Oh, I didn't even know with it. I'm so not well-versed in the hockey world. That's the only hockey team I know. I know the Rangers. I know the Devils couldn't tell you where they are. Devils are New Jersey. Okay. Rangers are New York. Okay, are you where are you from? New York. Okay. Is Pennsylvania State? Yeah, we're we're we're we're like an hour. Like it's like a 45 minute flight. Right. Like I used to grow up going to New York all the time for Broadway auditions. My mom was really at a school and we'd do a six hour road trip to Broadway auditions. Yeah. And did you was it hard hearing now at such a young age all the time from auditions? For sure. When I was about like six or maybe I was like seven turning eight. I got Billy Elliot, which is like and this was before you had done. And then I had literally already signed my contract to go on to the reality show. So I didn't do it. Which in hindsight like I'm actually so grateful because I'm like I don't want to like. Wow. Like my life one and I've ended up where it is now. And I love Broadway so much. But I'm also I can't say. So like it wouldn't have worked out. I would love to do theater. Yeah, I just did. I just did. How was that? I'm so sad. I'm glad to see it. It was awesome. It was like honestly one of the best experiences of my entire life. And I didn't know it was coming. Because sometimes like the best experiences like they use a hundred percent. I had no idea it was coming. It was hard. Were you like nervous to memorize and do that whole thing? So it wasn't memorization. It was very much like an SNL sketch. So we had a teleprompter and then we got to improvise. So it was really fun and I was with so amazing. It was thank you. I mean, we saw it like how many times? Eight times. Eight times. Yeah. And three weeks then she thought she's not for a week straight. He was on the plate for a week straight. I loved that. Was it different every night? No, there was we had her own thing. It was very fun. I love being on stage. I think that's where I I think I shine. I think I prefer to be on there. But like you said, it's like it's so it's so weird to think back on a decision. You made that could have that maybe. And at points in your life, I feel like I wish I did that instead of said yes to this because I wouldn't be feeling this way right now. But then we also, if we didn't make the decisions we both made, we wouldn't be sitting in this room talking to each other. 100%. You know what I mean? 100%. That's like me when I was like four, I broke my arm. And I was going to stop dance for a second. Potentially to try horseback riding. And I broke my arm right before my lesson. So I never horseback. That's crazy. Are you religious? I believe in a higher power. Power power. And I totally think that there is a path for me. Like I think that I'm just on the path that I'm supposed to be on. You are. And you have to tell yourself that everything happens for a reason. No, I have to. I literally like, I manipulate myself all the time into doing that. Because when things aren't working out, I'm like, it's happening for a reason because or else I'll literally, I don't know what I'll do with myself. Like last year, I did not work at all, basically. Like I did like little job. I choice or no. Like it was, I had a bad year emotionally. So that, and for some reason, like professionally, my year just like, I didn't do anything. I didn't film anything last year. And things I was supposed to film kept getting pushed. And I was like, okay, this is just not my year. But I am a horse girl at heart and it is your of the fucking horse. It is your the horse. I'm so excited. I'm shedding the layers of the, I don't even like really believe in that set. Or not that I don't believe in it. I don't like subscribe to it. I really like, I don't really like follow it. But when I found out I was a year of the horse, I was like, yeah, that's my year. You get yourself back up though. My thing is like, I have had one goal in my life. And I've never been like, I don't think I can do it anymore. Even when it's been like the hardest for me. Really? I have, I have no other option in my brain. Like this is it. Wow, do you have someone that you talk to in your life when you're really like going through it? Yeah, I do need to like, talk to my therapist again. It's been, I have a new one. I've got a new one literally out of today. Oh, amazing. Divine timing. That's beautiful. And I felt it leaving great. So it was, it was great. You already did therapy today. Yeah, I did it at like literally and I was going to cancel. I wanted to just, I was like, I was like, oh, I'm good. I'm so happy I did it. That's the thing. It's always like working up the courage to do it beforehand. I'm always like, I don't want to do this. I want to cancel. And then afterwards I'm like, I am a new person. My thing is, is I was doing the wrong therapy for so long. I was doing talk therapy, which is normal and helpful for a lot of people. But I've really bad OCD. So I obsess over things. I have like confessional OCD where I have to tell you everything I think. For example, when I'm on the phone with a therapist and I check a text, I'll have to say I just check my text by the way. We're also like a bad luck. Like shit like that. I know. But I know that that's what it was. Yeah. I would tell my old therapist that all the time. I'd be like, sorry, I just checked my text and she would laugh. And then this therapist was like, oh, you have confessional OCD and then wrote it down. Oh my god, that's incredible. Yeah, we'll work on that. That's incredible. And I was like, oh, I need to know that. It really is like dating. Like finding your therapist, you have to go like. And I just, I'm ending my relationship today with my old one. But I think she'll take it. Wow. She'll be fine. You already cheated on her. Yeah, I know. I already fucking cheated. I've been avoiding her for months. I've had two scheduled sessions. Oh, this is toxic. I know, I know. She's so lovely and so great. But like-- But you're like, you didn't even like-- I need help. I need like scientific help. I need like a-- Her laughing and just like-- Well, she's like, oh, you got it, you know? Like, and I was like, no. But like, I actually like mentally-- I don't got it. Kind of believe I don't think I do. I'm really happy for you. Thank you. So unnecessary. You have so much that you're doing and you're so busy. Like, it's very important for you to be like taking care of yourself first and foremost. Thank you. Thank you. How do you-- How do you take care of yourself? I do a lot of body work. And like, I do a lot of self care. Like, I'm doing like, do you know what gyro is? Like gyrotonics. It's like sort of like a form of Pilates kind of movement sort of stuff. I do that like twice a week. So you do lymphatics, you do body work. I do the whole thing. Like, I'm kind of obsessed with it. I think I just like-- Not that I've never not taken care of my body, but I think my body has been like my main source of how I-- A thousand percent. It works everything. And so I feel like I've neglected it without even realizing. It's like a subconscious thing. How do you mean, like, your body almost became your work? 100%. Like, you know what I mean? Like, your body and your body's wellness like became equivalent to how you worked. Yeah. And like, your professional career. So then it's like, you can-- Yeah, I see what you mean. Yeah. And if like, my body was declining, I was just kind of like, but my body always takes care of me. It's fine. I'll be fine. Wow. Whereas now I'm like, no, let me like actually address it. And I didn't really notice it until like, I would go on tour when I was younger and do a split and go on stage. Like, not even warm up. Not even take care of my body. Like, I was just naturally always flexible and whatever. And when you're young, like, you don't feel the thing. I'm still young. But like, now, when I stopped dancing, because every injury I ever had came up. And I was like, whoa, like, my body was just like screaming at me. So I was like, OK, I actually need to like pay attention to this. When did you decide to stop dancing? Well, it wasn't permanent. It was just like-- Like, for the time being. Because I had an injury. And then every injury came up. But I was like, I want to say I was doing COVID. Wow. Yeah. And you were like, I just need to be-- I just need to take a second. And then I acting really took over-- Yeah, well, you were in my old ass as well, which I love. Yeah, I just acting kind of took over. And then I was also battling that whole thing of like, I have to only do jobs in acting that are not related to dance, because I'm only going to be hired as it-- Oh. --like, they're only going to hire me if it's like a dancer role. And then I'm going to be type cast as that. And then people are going to not take me seriously. It was like a whole battle of that. So I had to really like, I needed to prove myself as an actor to be like, I can do this on my own without-- --having the dance thing apart of it. But then it had been enough time. And then like, pretty lethal came into my lap. And I was like 1,000% yes. Did people on set come to you for advice about dancing? Like, did everyone have to go through like, training and stuff? And like, what was that like? Yeah, me and Lana. Do you know Lana Condor? I know of her. I think she's fabulous. She-- you would be obsessed with her. She's one of my favorite people in the world. Or comedic time means amazing. Perfection. Yeah, she's awesome. I cannot say enough nice things. Which is funny because you play enemies in the movie. We do. We do. But it's also like a secret love story. You punch her in the face. A bunch of her in the face. I really do. In the first 10 minutes of "Bunk." Did you watch it? Yes, last night. Period. I go to "Screeker." Thanks. It's very camp. It's um, it's so camp. It's so amazing. I loved it. I had such a fun time watching it. Thank you. It was really-- You were spectacular. Thank you so much. It played really well at "South By." Like, it was like a very interactive experience. Like, everyone was laughing and screaming. Yeah. Yeah, it was cool. It actually came out way more camp that I even thought it would be in the best way. Like, it's just fun and tongue-in-cheek and like, yeah. It did is fun. Lana had danced. She had done ballet until she was like 18 and then quit. Wow. Which I didn't even know that prior to like working with her. So we had training and experience. And so, yeah, we trained for like months, a few months like on our own. Me and Abultica actually trained together in LA. And then we did like four weeks of ballet boot camp when we got to Budapest. Where we do like-- Ballet boot camp in Budapest is crazy. It is crazy. It is crazy. It is crazy. Ballet boot camp in Budapest. Did a boot, did a, did a, someone from like a, did a local teach you? No. It's like, what's, like, I was like, what the fuck did you just go through? Oh my god, that is so funny. That would be funnier though, if we like just got like randomly talked by just like-- So you did three months of like, [BLANK_AUDIO]
the past ballet three months, just like three weeks. - Okay, got it, got it. - But it was really fun. We had an amazing, we had people from the Royal Ballet who came in to teach us ballet and we worked with, we had ballet doubles and stunt doubles and it was a whole fun experience. We would do ballet for four hours in the morning and then five hours would be stunt after and we'd do that every day for three weeks. - Were you exhausted? - I was thriving. - What did you feel like back in your album? - I'm toxic like that. I feel like back in your album. - 100%. - I mean, I was exhausted but I also was like, I live for this like getting sore and like, my body kind of giving out, I was like, I love it. It just brought me back to my dance training and I'm just kind of a psycho when it comes to that 'cause I was like, I want to do everything I can. You know, like I want to do as much dancing. I did almost all of my dancing and almost all of my stunt stuff. - Wow. - I was like, I want to do it all. I couldn't jump out of a building. I'll let him fire but like, you know. - Did you get to see your stunt double do that? - Yeah, it was crazy. I have like the video on my phone. It's ridiculous. - Wait, that's so insane. - No, it was crazy. They're amazing. - And they legitimately lit the building on fire. - Yeah, and they jumped out onto cardboard boxes. - They landed on cardboard boxes. - Is that like a one-take type of thing? - Yeah, one-take. - 'Cause then the building burns. - It didn't burn but, oh, that's a good point. - Did they get it in one day? - It was there. The building was still standing. - Okay, great, great. - Yeah, it was just a quick like pyro like, - Well, the movie's fantastic. I'm so happy for you. - Thank you. - I feel like. - I'm so happy for you. I've been such a fan of you for so long and I've watched every episode of this show. - Oh, well, I have been watching you forever. - Oh. - My best friend Julia tried to fly out for this. - No, she didn't. - Yeah, she didn't. - Is she in New York? - She's in New York. - Oh, let's hang out with her. - Is she? 'Cause you know. - Wait, why does she like-- - You are her North Star. - What? - She was a dancer. - Oh, okay. - She was like, you're her North Star. Like, she was like Maddie Ziegler as my North Star. - Really? That's so sweet. - She was like, I'm gonna fly out. She couldn't cause of work. But she was like, I'm-- - Absolutely. - Oh, she's gonna ship, ship Rex. - Really? - Give me my phone. - There's way cooler people in the world. - Watch her reaction. She's, I don't even think she knows you're here. - Hi, I have a question. - Yeah. - Hey. - No, no, no, no. (laughing) - We're hanging out. We're gonna hang out in New York. - No, Maddie, this isn't funny. Seriously. - I don't-- - I'm not my Roman Empire. - Absolutely. - I'm over. - You don't understand. Like, you are like the figure of my life. This is not funny. - I, you have made my entire life. - I just, as Julie has one line about it, about you is you can't take your eyes off her. - Stop. - Stop. - No, I'm literally so obsessed with you. This is literally not funny. - Wait, we're gonna go to dinner in New York. I'm going to New York tonight. - She's coming. - He's coming. - No, we're going together. - Yes, we're gonna make plans for this weekend. - Hi, I'm Lucie. (laughing) - This is making me feel so special. Thank you. (laughing) - I told you. - I can't even believe it. - You know, she used to have us, for past time when Julia was bored, she would have us sit down and put on your like L.A. play house videos. I'm just looking at us and say, you can't take your eyes off for Kenya, huh? - I'm so obsessed with you. - Stop it. - It's your literally the best answer I've ever seen in my life. - Stop it. Stop it. - Okay, you were? - Let me know where dinner is and I will be there. - I'm so excited. You have made my entire day. - I will be waiting for you. - Thank you so much. - No, I believe, like, I believe that you. - You stopped really understelling it and I'm sorry if you think I'm a freak. Like, I actually-- - I do not think you're a freak. Bring back people actually like, complimenting it. Like, are being like-- - I agree. - I hate when people are like, pretend like they don't know other people. I'm like, I will be the first person to go up and be like, I'm a fan of you. - Yes, I mean, that's what, that's my stack. - And that's literally my stack. - That makes people feel special, like-- - That's you. - That's really fun. - That just like made my day, though. - Really? - Yes, yeah. - By the way, a lot of people have been to this house. Julie has never reacted that way. - That's great. - She's not even here. So yeah. - That's really nice. I love that. Yeah, let's do it. - Okay, so Maddie, what are you therapist about today? - It can really be the most benign thing. It really, like, I'm mad that it's so fucking hot in here. - That's why I laughed, 'cause that's what I was gonna say. And I was like, I can't really say that. It's kind of disrespectful. - Yes, you can. I'm so mad about it. How we've been dealing with this for almost three years. Now, it just-- - So this is like, oh, it's always hot. - Is there like a stop? - No, it's never this hot. - It's a heat wave. - The room isn't getting cold. And I'm a cold sleeper. - I, what do you sleep at? - 62. - Do you really? - 62. - Where have you been all my life? - 62. - Wow, I've never met another 62er. - Yeah. - Oh my God, I've known I'm not even kidding. Louise sleeps at like 80. - First of all, you would die. - 70, I would have a panic attack. - Oh, for sure. - I would have a legitimate panic attack. - If I'm, yeah, I just, it's 62 or nothing. - Not to sound out of touch, but the hotel life really took a toll on me mentally. - For sure. I think, I mean, for someone-- - Don't she panic? - No, no. - I think for me, I feel like, it's definitely, I like to create the best environment for my home. That's why I love being home, 'cause my home is my favorite place in the world, 'cause I've made it my sanctuary. So not being in your space with all of your things and just access to the things that matter the most to you, that does take a toll on you. - I don't know what, why my OCD had something to do with it, because like I said, I wasn't in the right therapy, but I know that my OCD does have something to do with the fact that I have a hard time organizing and keeping things organized. And like, living out of a suitcase is hard for anyone, but I know specifically for me, there is something that was there. And I'm going to, I'm gonna ask my new therapist about it. - You should. I'm a neat freak. - Are you really? I'm so jealous of you. - My house is spotless. - Jealousy. - Everything is organized, if you ever need help. Like I literally offer myself to people to be like, if you need help organizing, like I will come over and do it, it's my favorite thing to do in the world. - Be careful what you put out there, 'cause I will take you up. I'm the least organized person on the planet. - Oh, yeah. - 'Cause I'm a hoarder. I think everything is so sentimental and I wanna save everything. - That's how my sister is. She's a hoarder. - Really? I get accepted. - And my grandma's the same way. - And it drives me insane. - Yeah, but yeah. - But if you're happy and comfortable, oh, well then, I don't know. - Yeah, I gotta figure it out. Nope, therapy and we're starting and we're new. - We love her. - I love her, I forget her name. And by the way, that's a great sign. - Well you still haven't cut things off fully with your other stuff. - No, I'm gonna send her a text saying like, I needed someone that specialized in like OCD specific stuff. - 100%. - Because it is just. - It's rough. - It's rough in my head. Do you like a fan of the Inside Out movies? - Yes. - The second movie, it changed my life. I couldn't believe how much I saw up during that movie. I've never felt so seen in my life. - All I thought about was like, I'm so jealous that these kids get to be like, oh my God, that's so normal that I feel that way. - 1000%. - You know what I mean? That's so normal. Riley has it. - Yeah, it's a literally. - It's a literally. - It is the best movie. And I think, do they play it in schools? Because I totally-- - I think they will, if they don't. - I think they absolutely have to. The way they described the panic attack and like, when the new set, when you hit teenager and when you hit teenager, when you become a teenager, it's just-- - Okay, so when you put it simply. - Yeah. - And like, you're like, oh anxiety really is. Like, they are just trying to help, and like, you're like, okay, like, you shouldn't hate it. You should like-- - You welcome it. - I know, that's the hardest thing. - Picks are really just eats down. Like, I know-- - Oh, they do. - Who is running Pixar? - I know. - But they think the best projects. - They really do. You should like voice over something. - Oh God, I don't know. I think my voice has been heard by enough folk for-- - No, I love your voice. - Do you really? - Yeah, you have a really fun speaking pattern. - Thank you. Listening back to like my own voice on a weekly basis to edit my show. - Oh, I'm sure you hate the most insufferable thing on Planet Earth. I thought Nolan, God's BTO. - I mean, you know what I'm saying. - I don't know who like-- - Well, actually, quite a lot of people like their voice, but I'm like, I just feel like that's like a red flag if you like your voice. - Yeah. - That's weird. I think it's more than anyone that's like, I love this sound of my own voice. - And there definitely are people in the world that like their voice. - Yes, I mean, I'm good for them, but I don't know if that's someone I'd want to surround myself with. - Yeah, no. - Would you, would you like this on to your own voice? - No, but it's so funny. - Okay, Nolan, do you like stuffy girl voice? - I don't like my laugh, but I don't think about it. - No, what were you gonna say? It's so funny you say that. - I was at Sephora yesterday checking out and the girl was like, oh my God, I'm obsessed with your voice. - Oh, that's the best compliment that. - I did, I have had someone tell me that they love my voice. - I love your voice. - I need to do voice overs. And I'm like, I have done voice overs. My voice is so, like, doing. - No, you have a very like, county voice. - Oh, period. - Like it's, you know what I mean? - Totally. - Giving like, IDGF. See, we're our own biggest critic. - Oh, for sure. I'm like so mean to myself. - Same, I have the worst negative self talk. - Yeah, I was like, social media, like it was actually rotting me in a really crazy way and giving me so much anxiety. - God, it's just hard 'cause it's my job. - I know. - And I do love it. - I know. - And I never want it. - And you're so good at it. - And I love connecting with people on it. - 100%. - And like, when that feeling of making people laugh, and like, be people being like, I just L.O.L. - It's infectious. - Yeah. - That this is addicting. Or being like, you just made me laugh so hard. Like, I love creating a community, but when it gets bad, it's horrible. - 100%. - It's horrible. - But you can dictate that. You know, like, you, there's just, there's really positive places of the internet. I think it's just like trying to like, it's hard when we're being fed so much negative talk. But your videos are like, that's the one thing I miss from TikTok is your videos. - Oh, thanks. do this.
get something more. So you're not missing out. Oh really? I they're so good. No, thank you. The Mona Lisa one will forever go down as the vaping where I'm vaping. No, it's the one where something about Mona Lisa like check like the I don't know if it was was it the crowd control one? It was the one where you're talking about like getting the photo or checking the photo. I don't know if it was like. Oh, and he's like can I pick select? Yes, yes. I said that. That one actually like I would watch that in reference that also. I'm sorry to bring this up. But this morning my makeup artist investor Antonio she was she hasn't really seen your show and I was like let me just like play you a funny clip and I just immediately went to that. Oh my god. No, and she was dying. That's the best one. That's the best one. She was like I'm never she didn't know that about obviously that he wrote that for that reason. Like and he was she was like I will never look at that song. He said he said me up. He said the most memeable lyric is the one about my dad grandma saying memeable lyric. Of course you're gonna laugh. That's funny. Yeah, I know because I was thinking about all the really funny memes about it. Like you've all seen. We've all seen them. Okay, I'm gonna go pee really quickly before we get to the tell me what's wrong. You know, okay. Do you know what those are? Obviously. This episode of Therapus is brought to you by Booking.com. I'm so sorry you had such a hard year last year, but it's really like awesome to see you like like physically and mentally glowing and after like you, I know you went through a hard year. Yeah. And you're saying like it was like one of the hardest of your life and you're like literally like and I'm glowing and and that happened and I've moved on. Thank you. Yeah. I learned a lot from it and it taught me a lot of patience and I'm just trying to like move forward and and continue. Patience is a hard thing to learn. It's the hardest thing in the world. I have not mastered it. I have not learned it. I mean same. I'm still. I'm on the again earth. Yeah. Same. Well, I'm like, I'm like intermediate level now. How do you what, like, is there a practice you use to like find patience? Honestly, just like I try to not in a unhealthy way distract myself, but like put my energy into other things. That's yeah, that's I think that's what she always encourages me to do. Yeah. That's like that's the hardest day. Like just like sort of staying on one topic and just like overplaying it and thinking about you know, it's just like that's doing nothing, going and so that's nothing for you. I know that's what I have. Fuck it is so hot in here. I am so sorry, I'm like keeping you captive like the Bulgarian man and the movie. I'm like literally holding you captive. You're obsessed with about the movie. Yeah, tell me. It's like a real true early 2000s. We needed this. We needed this for sure. I need it. It's so fun. And I love that we're we're playing into exactly what it is. You know, yeah, and you're so good in it. Yeah. It is so conty. What I mean, I'm not spoiling. I mean, it'll be out. There's a dance number. It is so fabulous and conty. Thank you. 5, 6, 7, 8. Like it is. Yeah, that's a fun. Everything. Thank you for watching it. That is so nice of you. Like you did. Imagine I'm here. I'm like, so I didn't watch your movie. I mean, there's no way you can watch everything. Yeah, that is true. But I genuinely was super happy to watch it. Like my mind at ease last night. I had such I was able to that's my favorite thing about movies and television. You transport. I transport. That's why like TV so much that I can transport into its a world. 100%. I can completely new and separate worlds. So I think my next one that I'm going to take on is Shits Creek. Yeah. So do you want to get into the tummy? What's wrongs? I know. So you're not like, I won't like leave you here stranded, sweaty. I'm so literally fine. I don't know if you know, but we can prescribe things. So like, if someone comes in and is like, I'm traveling abroad with my friends and we're in a creepy Bulgarian hotel. I'd be like, well, I prescribed you pretty lethal. Yeah, 100%. And I'm also a ballerina. Well, I prescribed you pretty lethal. Did you do quickly before we get into these? Did you watch any like, did you watch like any black swans? Like, yeah, all the things. But like honestly, Kill Bill was a huge reference for us. And that was prior to Emma coming onto the project. What? Really? Yeah. Who was that? It was absurd. Like, we landed and I found out and I was like, you are not going to like, I was telling the girls, I was like, you're not going to believe, you're not going to believe. And they were like, who? And I was like, guess. And they were, I was they couldn't they were trying to think. And I was like, our reference. And they were like, it is not. That's such a that's such a kismet moment. It is. And she, which I mean, she's the most unbelievably like kind, smart, just regal woman. And she was like, I remember her saying, like, this is like some of the most fun she's had since Kill Bill. Oh, that's awesome. And you know, she means that 100%. And she's very authentic. Did you learn anything from her? I think just like her stillness in her calm like energy. And she also had to learn that crazy accent. Like, she was in like a full like, well, she like, this is hard for me or was she like, this is my job. This is work. I'm going to do it. She, she never made it look hard. Yeah. I don't know if that's how she felt, but she did it with ease. So she's like one of the greatest. Like, and she's a model. So tall, drop dead. Do you have her find yourself in situations where you're getting advice from someone like that? And you're like, wow, I can't believe I'm getting advice from someone like you right now. And that's when you know, like, I got to take this. 100% because I'll get advice from someone. And I'll say it to Louise. And she'll be like, I literally told you that. And I'm like, right, but it doesn't. It's not a thermite. Yeah. It's not a human, though. I mean, that like, I'll do respect. It's true, though. I think also us being like, you know, you want to hear, you really digest it and want to hear it from people who have literally lived all of the experiences. Like it just hits all at different level. Are you watching love story? I haven't watched it yet. Should I watch it? Sarah Pigeon in it. I just think she's so beautiful. No, the blonde, you know, she photoshopped blonde hair. I heard that for the audition. I'm going to do that in the future. I mean, she, like, she's just like, God, it's so she played it. She's, I mean, I don't, I think she did. I think she's done an incredible job. Great. I think she's intoxicated to watch. I love that. Yeah, like intoxicated. You can't take your eyes off of her. I love that. Get her on the pod. I wish. I wish you wish. She's that she's also so cool. I got to meet her the other day. And she's just just as chic and fucking awesome. No, she's so beautiful. Like naturally beautiful. You'll love the show. I think we really like the show. It's cool. It's cool. It's cool seeing like, um, I feel like we were on 2000's nostalgia for so long. And I think we're on to 90's. I love that. I think that's what we're on. I wish I was born in the 90's. You say that now. And while I agree, actually, I think you're probably right. When were you born? Then 1999. So I'm a 2000's baby as well. I would say, but, um, I want to say, I, I, but I wouldn't have the job I have if I was born then. I would have, I have had like the second chance I got, you know, what I mean? Because like I could have pursued. As you said, like I, you chose not to do. What the fuck, Billy? Billy Elliot. Billy Elliot. I chose not to do theater as a kid. And I always regretted it. And then like TikTok kind of gave me this lane back in that I never would have thought. You're doing everything. But I really like TikTok was the way in. TikTok was the only reason I'm sitting here. You are TikTok. I like, thank you. I don't feel like I am, but thank you. I've been in love with my situation for a year and a half. And he recently admitted to me that he feels the same and wants a future obsessed. The only problem is all of my friends genuinely hate him. And I get why because we have been a little toxic. On and off again, we use each other as a crutch, etc. How do I either get them off my back or explain that it's going to be okay? Well, it's not going to be okay. I prescribe, tell me lies. You think? Have you ever been in like a situation ship? I've always said I've wanted a situation ship and the second I get close to one, I'm like, this is, this feels like that. I feel like it either, it either ends good or bad. There's no in between. And being in between phase is just a no go. Also, like, yeah, if you're, if you're admitting that you're toxic in this situation is toxic, why the sex must be amazing though. For sure. Like, dick can do anything. It's legit a wand. Like, it is. It is a fucking wand. But it's like, yeah, whatever. So you prescribe tell me lies. We'll just tell me lies. This is like, unfortunately, it's just like, that's, well, I mean, I never finished tell me lies. And I need to because I ever said in season three. And I really want to watch it. I heard Steven. Oh, he just goes off. I've heard he becomes like, you can't even say he's hot. Like, it's like legitimately indefensible. I've never liked him. I've never had a moment where I've liked him. What's the situation again? It's like, he has like a bad like, oh, yeah, he's bad. And apparently in season three after, but yeah, apparently in season three, it's like to the point of, like, for real.
Yeah, but he does have this hilarious moment on the like very end of the show that is just like it's so funny Like he goes off really and it's I was laughing. So how does it end? I just wait I do see the shells on my arms Like after and he go My mom is constantly depending on me to be her safe space to bitch about my sister and her husband and Most of the time I'm just not in the mood to hear the negativity when I try to put up a boundary and say I just don't really want to talk about this She gets all pissy it's pushing me away from her And then I feel guilty because she doesn't have anyone to talk to you. I honestly I understand that not that my parents do that in that same situation But like parents are gonna go to their kids and be like It is hard. It's also hard when it's like this is something that I've really just through years of whether it be other people's experiences or whatnot like At the end of the day, you are still the kid even if you you know like yeah, it's hard to like feel that way those sometimes I'm like I feel bad. I know because you it's that also that cliche of like you grew up and you're like wow now I'm supposed to yeah, and their experience in life for the first time. That's what I always say. Yeah, it is a hard thing And they don't have everything figured out and like they need they feel safe enough to want to Confide in you and whatever, but it is it is that's a slippery slope. Yeah, I don't know what I've been prescribed for that Talk to a therapist about that. Yeah, like a real like go through the trials and tribulations of getting a good one. Yeah I'm like using already what my therapist told me about earlier today. It's already been helpful. That's amazing So I'm Loki juggling man at the moment obsessed usually boys only want to hook up But recently I've had like three guys asked me on dates, and I look he like oh so fun So fun IDK what is in the air right now, but everyone is being boyfriend material, and I'm overwhelmed Should I pick what do I do obviously I prescribe that episode of Hannah Montana where she has to pick between Jake just see and Jake and Jake you obviously What I just like woke up I mean that that like informed my like childhood for sure I never got it then but it's once again a timeless P timeless piece of art. You never got Hannah Montana No, I got Hannah Montana, but I never understood the stress that she had between she's it. Oh same So like that's time. I just mean like Hannah Montana in general. I don't know what did you see the anniversary that's happened? It's did that come out yet. I don't know, but I'm sad. Did you like watch weekly? Of course I don't remember like watching weekly. Oh that every day extra room that I may have parents put strobe lights and like his fog machine And I can perform Hannah Montana concert. It really is a brilliant concept. Oh, it's the student by day pop star by night No, 100%. It's literally a brilliant concept. My favorite thing especially in the Hannah Montana movie when she finally reveals and takes the wig off I'm like she looks exactly the same like it's it's so funny because it's like such a reveal that a sequence or the The revolving door. Oh my gosh. It's so. It's awesome. And of course Taylor Swift wrote the music for that album like it's just so But it's all perfect. It was divine timing like everything was divine. It really was You know, he didn't know what Hannah Montana was. I knew what it was, but you never watched it. No You need to watch it. No, he's not gonna enjoy it. Yeah. He's like he's gonna sit down at how old are you 22? Yeah, actually Honestly, Nolan, I think you could I think you could no one's gonna come in. It's sweet. No, but it's yeah, it's really funny honestly It is funny. I remember it being really funny. I would say my favorite Disney show of all time though is that so Raven like that's the one for me That still gets me to laugh and I was a cheetah girl's boy like I love the cheetah girls I used to run around elementary school until everyone my dad directed the movie lies. No, you did not. Yes, he I did Why that was I don't know. I thought it would give me like street cred. I would be like he directed the like he directed Cheetah girls too in Barcelona. No way. Yes, I swear And did you feel guilty about that? I don't know. Yeah, I did so I like obviously my dad was like are you telling cuz like someone called him And was like are you telling people that is he a director? He's a writer. Okay, and so it like the line like actually Somewhat worked. Okay, I thought you're gonna be like no, he's like an artist. No, no He's a writer. So that's why I was able to get away with the life for like 24 hours, but I didn't get past that I have ADHD and growing up. I had no patience to sit and watch movies slash TV now I'm 22 and want to start watching. I actually really feel this. I just don't know where to start I've watched very few shows like almost none I feel so excluded when people talk about shows and want to get into it you and beautiful guest You should recommend a good show to start. Okay, I think we should recommend scandal I agree because if you have ADHD It will keep you captive and it's a repetitive thing. So you'll be able to like You know, it's not it's not too. I mean a lot is going on But like you're you're locking yourself into something that you're like, okay I would say that there are TV shows that you have to give a season or two You don't have to do that. You don't have to do that with scandal So if you want to like do TV for beginners not that scandals like TV for beginners But the plot moves at a faster pace then absolutely and you're in you're you're you're like you're gladiator And I also think like sometimes people with ADHD at least I struggle with this is like I can't get through the first 10 minutes Just get through the first 10 get through the first episode watch the second give yourself grace to like get into it Just sit and watch 100% and make yourself a good snack like get comfy like so we prescribe scandal Yeah, my boyfriend listens through his air pods every night and bad to fall asleep I always assumed it was music or white noise. No, don't tell me. I don't know where this is going yet either His air plot fell out one night and I heard strange noises. I put it in and it was And it was a constant stream of a woman seductively whispering a moan in what the fuck I want to bring this up. He's so perfect. Otherwise. Um, you have to say something. You absolutely the fact that you haven't is crazy once again Divine timing his air pod fell out and how sweet of you to just assume I would also assume like oh He's probably just listening to a podcast, but did you never ask like what do you listen to? No, I'm blaming the woman. I would think it's like well noises You need to just be like what's up because I do you think it's porn? Do you think he's watching? That's where my brain went and if that's the case and that's obviously just not okay He clearly has demons for sure, but you know, you need to you need to I wouldn't prescribe like a breakup No, I think I I prescribe like a proper like sit-down talk. You can imagine he's gonna start crying I'm so embarrassed. I went to And honestly you should be embarrassed. Yes, it's embarrassing. I would feel if I was the girl. I totally I can't even imagine how she's feeling I would feel sick to myself. I would feel sick I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know what to prescribe you a sit-down talk watch the show intervention Yeah, but see but stay strong on this like don't let him like make you feel like You're weird for listening like you know like oh, yeah, you can't let him gas like you you can't let him gas like you Have to be like it was not weird. It is weird like you do not distract do not distract If he's like oh my mom What you really agree with that you do you know from personal do you know someone it was like parental issues? Oh Got it got it got it got it got it got it got it I'm in love with someone I can't be in love with and I don't know how to let it pass. Oh girl it been there I felt this for two years, but I miss my opportunity and now my best friend has been dating this guy for a year That's rough the reason I'm writing in is because he just proposed to her literally sobbing like he's so kind to me Still and so hubby, but I can't have them help. It's like real heartbreak There's nothing to do the only thing that we'll get you through that is a piece of art An album about unrequited love a show about it a movie about it and watching somebody else go through it They're because that is your best friend and her man. Yeah, there's not the hindsight is 2020. There's nothing you can do I would maybe listen to like The one by Taylor Swift obviously maybe in hindsight. That just wasn't the person for you like it's you know It could have been but like it could have been but it's not but it's not have you seen past lives? Yes, watch past lives past lives is wow watch past lives. That's a great recommendation. That's a great prescription Thank you. Yeah, it is I think one of the most difficult parts about growing up is realizing that life isn't fair For sure and it's like really come and a lot of people will be like how did you not realize that sooner? And but people come to that realization when they need to absolutely and like kind of sitting with the fact that like life owes you nothing and life is so unfair Um, it's a really tough lesson to learn it really give yourself grace like you can be upset allow yourself to be a hundred percent I would be devastated. I would be so hard but don't get messy no don't get messy and all like if they seem happy I mean, they're clearly engaged so it seems like that's like the icing on on the cake It's gonna be a rough year, but maybe the universe is protecting you from something that Could have conspired. You need to it's gonna be a rough year What you need to do is put yourself on the dating market me out And you do not go and with the intent of like I need to find someone now to like distract myself But just like go on dates. Yeah, I hate date in I've never really done it so it's yeah, it's It's literally like you sit across How are you? I'm good. How are you? It's literally weather talk. It's like good jet weather talk Yes, because I'm so insecure that the entire and especially like gay dating the only thing I can think about is like Is this a friend date or is this a real date so we make that move of a kiss? I that's the only thing playing in my head. I'm all get and again and again and again and again again and again 100% like all I can think about is so valid so until someone kiss that's why my love thing which is words of affirmation Like you need to tell me that you want me
And like I'm like desirable 100% what's your love language? I would say it's a little bit of I would say like words of Affirmation I do love physical touch and quality time. Yeah, I like physical touch All of them except for gifts like I don't really care about Yeah, I don't care about gifts I care giving people gifts But like I think also acts of service is so important to me like what's the difference between And gift I think well like when my for instance like that a ridiculous no no like for instance like my boyfriend Is very like he makes me dinner every night. He cooks for us every night He'll like set everything up. He'll take like I go to like grab a trash And he's like, no, no, I'm gonna take out the trash, you know like What's the thing to this you have a beautiful life You have a beautiful life. I do take out the trash makes you dinner. Yeah, you're a movie star And like yeah, no, it's really nice But you know what after the year you had last year You deserve this beautiful life. Thank you so much. You deserve this beautiful life and I'm so happy for you Thank you so much. I mean, I don't have like a perfect life. Of course. No, but you deserve these great things that are happening to you So you don't need to hear it from me, but I know I I appreciate that so much, but yeah, how did we even get here? Something with was it the air are we still on the air pods? No, we're on the girl She needs to move. Yeah, she needs to she needs to move on, but I'm telling you right now It's gonna be a tough year. You need to make light of it. You need to find that one girl You need to find like a pay in or Julia or Brett to just like be like can we're like an Alice like to be like can you believe? This is happening like I'm gonna kill myself not actually but like this is so horrible like I'm miserable right now Yeah, and they'll be like yeah, this sucks and just laugh about it You can the only thing to do is laugh. What else are you gonna do cry? No, there's two options There's literally two options laugh cry or sit or have three I guess and do nothing or all three at the same time I've been in a total flop state at work I had multiple typos and one imported email. I fully ended a large meeting that I was running on accident and subsequently Take the wins What just happened? So for context, who was the guest? Hey, I did I moderated a Q&A for Tate's new album, okay, and I couldn't pronounce the word Subsequently and With ease with ease, but like the Hollywood reporter posted it and I said sub-sequently no no Subsequently would have been better than what I said. I said sub so I'll send you the video It was really embarrassing, but I said I stitched it and I said you'll get him next time and you know what I got him You got him next time. Thank you. That must feel really good. Sit in that feeling. I'm sitting at And subsequently cried in a conference room alone and that someone via zoom told me to stay on mute I'm so burnt out. How do I remedy this? Well, I think you just told me you had you had a rough year. How do you remedy? I know it's not the same because Your job is to be an actress and this person very clearly works at like a corporate nine to five But I would say like did you feel burnt out last year without a feeling that you encountered probably a little bit And how did you remedy that? It's just trying not to sit in that feel. It's just like hard Try and just put yourself out there for a new job. Maybe this isn't the job where you're meant to be I got fired from an internship you don't get fired from internship Like let me like put that really laid out for you You don't get fired from internships. That's not a something you get fired from and I got fired from it with like Like and I just picked it up got ramen and moved on. I called my dad I said you'll never believe it. I got fired from my internship You said really I said yes, and then I went partied all weekend and got back and learned my lesson Honestly, sometimes that's just what you got to do like sitting in it like you have to just find things to put your energy into keep it moving Also, you're allowed to make mistakes. Everything is so immortalized These days like writing it imagine back in the day like someone probably signed off on a note for a pigeon wrong And got home went home to speaking a period pieces came home. It was like I sent out the worst thing And they really can't fix that or send a follow-up because that pigeon is gone or the male is gone Like it was probably so much worse 100 years ago 100. It was probably so much work We have so much access to so much like we'd need to like keep it moving Keep it moving keep it moving and trust me You're I'm sure your personality is great and you're so fun. I would watch um Maybe horrible bosses watch horrible bosses. Have you seen horrible bosses? So good. My boyfriend is so obsessed with sports He talks about it all the time and watches it 24/7 even if we are out on dates or I think that's charming Sorry, we're walking around I hate it and I've expressed that and he doesn't seem to care because his team is his priority Like it's such an egg, but I understand that that's the culture. What do I do in defense of the boyfriend quickly when the era's tour was happening And like it was my whole life like I would be out at dinner and I would have the live stream up to see like that was my sports To see which lie to see which surprise song she was gonna say. Okay. It was so fine. It brought me joy. Yeah, it clearly brings him joy I was gonna say like I Her saying that she he knows that he she hates that so much is sad because it's like you should like But it's not your thing that makes your partner happy and you should just right let them have their thing if it's something to where it's like genuinely Coming in between their time their quality time together. Maybe it's like you find a compromise of like I can do it Like you can watch it here But maybe if we're having like a nice sit down dinner like maybe for me Taylor had a show every night. I was clocked in Yeah If someone who I would see was like I hate this I would not see them anymore. That was my passion. That is my passion Like I don't know what to say. Yeah, yeah, that was like that brought me like eras tour summers. I think it was two summers right that it had it was over Um was probably the most joy I've ever felt in my entire life sitting down watching those live streams like You you would watch a live stream of the concert And it was so fun like a she would pick out a different outfit sometimes. We were like Yeah, like we did Like she first started dating Travis Okay, this is I'll never forget this would she first started dating Travis And it became like very public knowledge that we were dating she went back on tour and you're at them We were all like what surprise long is she gonna do and she did labyrinth because in it she says uh-oh I'm falling in love again, and so like obviously we were all like freaking out because you know it meant that shit too That's really cute. That's my sports. That's my super bowl. That's my everything. So yeah So you get it like yeah, I get the guy I think it's hot when people are interested like just being interested in what they're interested in like even if it's not your thing It's like if they're passionate about something then I think it's hot. Yeah, I think it's hot too To see someone care for something I think is cool. Absolutely, but that's a lesson I learned with time you asked me that three years ago I would have been like lose air fucking loser break up with him like and now I'm like okay like you know That's his thing. Yeah, that's his thing. Yeah, I best do you watch love Island? I I've watched the last three seasons Okay, I'm not a big watcher, but I did watch Rob season. Yeah, my best friend is going out with this guy who might be going on love Island soon Run run run you have to he has other priorities. He has other priorities And that's not that's not bad to him, but the he has other priorities Especially now like people who go on now are literally like they're doing for one reason. I would say rob season change the game for sure That season anything after that season. It's like and honestly, I'm all all respect if you want to pursue a career in that And it's given people some incredible careers. Oh my god. Oh, Landria is just gonna say Landria is like a full-on model As she's a model she's a model. She has these incredible fashion moments And it's all because of love Island, but I would say if you're looking for love with this guy outside of this show Yeah, you are bound to get your feelings hurt Because he's going to be on a reality television show looking for love. It's just not at all Normal in any way that circumstance is crazy. Right. She said he is like an influencer dude So what should she do? She says she likes him and she thought it was going further But she found out by looking through his phone when he got DMed by the love Island admin girl I mean run. He's not trying to use the truth already run. I Don't you agree? I think keep it moving and we're also reality television is like I don't think this makes him a bad person So I'm not like trying to like blast the guy might have ulterior. Actually, I would say him not telling her a shady a f That is weird. So yeah, I would watch love Island and be like okay This is what I'm about to have to put myself through if I date this guy Not happening. You're gonna have to watch him make out with people on camera That was the last of the tell me what's wrong. Perfect. Did you have fun? I had so much fun That took me out of a really dark space for a month. I'm so glad. I think you're so amazing and I love your show And I'm honestly honored to be here. I'm so honored to have you and I'm so excited to get dinner this weekend We have to yes, we have to it like I have your number. Yeah, I'll make a group chat great and we'll do it perfect Well, Maddie, what did we learn today? I think we learned that we need to take a deep breath sometimes when things get hard Yeah, yeah, and also like spending time With people without a phone yes, and just talking to them straight on 100% it's it's really nice like sometimes And you can't ever really fully control this But like I try to surround myself with people that are gonna give me energy not to plead my energy You know what I mean? And I feel like this gave me energy. I feel like this gave me energy too I'm so glad and that's what I took away from it. I'm so happy.
