Lots to get to. A couple, I guess, items that moved us before we dive into those SEC win totals along the way. Tom, how are we feeling? Good. How are you feeling? Well, I'm actually feeling fantastic. I am moved because everyone else is moved. DK, did you ever have to fight with anybody when they were trying to figure out who's going to get number 13 at Florida State? No. In the NFL, I did pay for the number 13 when I went to the Atlanta Falcons. Probably the worst $10,000 I've ever spent. Maybe some of the dumbest money out there. I bought some. Stupid things. But when I went to Florida State, I was number 12 in high school. Matt Fryer was a receiver that was number 12. So I just looked at it like, hey, I wanted to wear 12, but Dan Marino was my guy. So I was like, I'll just go. That 13 was available, so I'm like, sweet. I'll go number 13. But yeah, that was about it. And thankfully, there wasn't any Heisman Trophy winners or anybody else that had worn number 13 where it wasn't an option. So news sort of, I guess this came out, I saw it here on, on this Thursday morning, that Jaden Daniels and, or an attorney representing Jaden Daniels is, what are they pursuing? Are they pursuing actual legal action? Oh yeah. Cease and desist. They are upset. Ugh. I mean. So if you're watching on youtube.com slash cover, slash cover three, you see an attorney representing commanders quarterback Jaden Daniels informed LSU. It can no longer use, his name image and likeness and said that he felt quote profoundly disrespected after LSU allowed cornerback DJ Pickett to wear his former number five jersey. Tom. Um, I'm just, I, I'm just going to start with this. Like you see in the story, the statement is from the Daniels family. It is, it is not from Jaden Daniels. And, uh, hi mom. Hi. Uh, it's like, we've, hell we've mentioned it for years on this show. Like going back to the Arizona state days, there were issues between the coaching staff at Arizona state and Jaden Daniels, his mom, because mom was kind of demanding about some things that she wanted for her son. And when Jaden Daniels left Arizona state for LSU, you remember like the videos came out of like all his former teammates, like emptying out his locker. There was a lot of stuff behind this, scenes that did not go over well with that coaching staff and his teammates in the locker room, LSU things worked out pretty well. He won the national or he didn't win a national title. He won a Heisman, but now like he he's been out of LSU for a few years. He's being paid millions of dollars in the NFL. He's coming off of a season in which he had to battle injuries and had heavy disappointment after an incredible rookie season. And he's trying to get ready to bounce back and have a good year with the Washington commanders. And now you're deciding is the time to go after LSU, the school that helped propel you to the Heisman trophy that helped make you the number two overall pick in the NFL draft. I mean, it is absolutely ridiculous, stupid, dumb, any other bad adjective you want to find, figure out for the it's, it's so short sighted and it's completely pointless, but it's in line with a lot of things that we have heard over the years. I feel bad for Jaden because I think this is hurting his name and his legacy potentially at LSU, his relationship with the school that, you know, he had the success with, and he had the Heisman trophy. The reason I feel bad for him is because I'm sure he loves his mom, right? His mom has been unbelievable. She did a great job raising an unbelievable young man. Who's incredibly gifted, but it stays out of trouble. Like seems like a great young man. The issue is like, she's now overstepped her bounds in a lot of different areas, right? I mean, if you watch the Netflix thing and she's, she's always been unafraid to be like, get involved in his dating life, which again, that's your mom. You would expect my mom was involved in my dating life too. She had strong opinions, but at some point you become a grownup and you have to tell, and this is where I think there has to be an uncomfortable conversation with Jaden and his mom to be like, mom, I got this, like just step aside. And I get that, you know, she helps represent him and it's part of the team and management and all of this. But like over the course of history, a lot of times, a lot of these relationships don't end up well. And like when you like, and I'm talking about, you know, tiger and his dad or Andre Agassi and his dad or other, you know, parent child relationships where you have super athlete with kind of an overbearing parent. I don't want to see that, you know, I mean, I want him to appreciate his mom, but at some point I think he has to step in and kind of be the grownup and become a man of his own instead of being kind of a mama's boy. So does this, using his name image and like, I'm a little sad. Bud can't be here to go billable hours on this. So, I mean, I guess we're, we're not putting him in a hype video in the stadium. Are we taking his face off of the facility? I think, I think LSU should call the bluff. I was, I think, yeah, I think LSU should stop using Jaden Daniels in anything that they do. Just erase them from their history books. See who that hurts more. Jaden Daniels or LSU. It won't hurt LSU. They've got plenty of really great players in the, the history of their program. Plenty of guys who were in the NFL. They don't need Jaden Daniels nearly as much as Jaden Daniels needs LSU. As far as legacy is concerned. I was reading some stuff from Darren Heitner, who's obviously an NIL attorney. And he was saying, he doesn't think they have any legal standing to force them to stop doing this. But I kind of agree with you, Tom, like, all right, if you really want us to, we'll go ahead and stop mentioning your name. You know, like, sure. Where do you think this? And I also think because lane spoke two weeks on the decision to give him the number. And he said, Hey, cause why didn't he wear it? His freshman year, Brian Kelly, who coached Jaden Daniels said, no, that number's reserved. But then lane said he did his research and said it was something promised. So he wanted to give it to him. I think this was an easy call for lane. I want to go with the player. I want to keep the player. That's going to help me win this year. I'm going to keep him happy. And you know, else I think he has on his side, the LSU fans. I think LSU fans are going to be like, what are you talking about? Jaden? Like we helped you like we, we supported you. We, you know, we got, we got you our opportunity to be the number two overall draft pick. And now you're coming back being kind of petty about it. And also like, I get it. Some players, it just never was kind of my, my, I never was good enough either to like demand a number, but like you could have voiced it. And I'm sure they already have been behind the scenes and nothing got done. Like, if you want to be upset about it, fine, but don't go to this. This is the nuclear option, which just destroys, potentially destroys your legacy. Also, there is only one, one number that nobody wears at LSU. There are plenty of retired numbers, but they're all still eligible to be worn except for 20 Billy cannons. you know whose number is not retired nine joe burrows yeah but nobody's wearing it so like that's been a popular pushback from jayden's back has anybody asked don't know okay that's the thing like five is a far more popular number among a whole bunch of different position groups than nine is nine is typically just a qb number qb might not want to wear nine it might feel like i don't want to step into that jersey and be joe burrow right now so it's it's ridiculous to me in that i it's the whole thing is ridiculous i mean it's a freaking number first of all like who cares guys but it's the entire like can't use the name image and likeness they're just trying to get paid that's what it is they're trying to get money out of lsu for it which again call their bluff remove his name image and likeness from everything you do um one counter example money yes i think it is about this i think it's about respect i think i try because what does the money bring like i don't know how much money like are they asking to be paid what does the respect bring well that but see that's why i think it's dumb jayden doesn't need any more money i mean that's that's where i don't know what i think this truly is like an ego you know they feel disrespected that's why i just don't understand i don't think jayden daniels's ego has anything to do with it well yeah correct i think it has to do i think it's somebody who didn't do any of the things that jayden daniels did on the field whose ego is strongly affected by it i've got one counter example that i would like to offer before we close the show this up and get into the business of the day because it has been mentioned that jayden daniels was a transfer right you know like he it wasn't even that he spent his whole career there um there was a player from in-state at a big state school who won a heisman trophy i mean oklahoma city native went to oklahoma won a heisman trophy and there are two number 14s on the roster for the oklahoma sooners right now you know the disrespect by brett venables and the oklahoma sooners i am disgusted i think that all oklahoma fans should boycott oklahoma games until they stop wearing that number i was like sam bradford was oklahoma you know if there's anybody who might want to decide they want to get high and mighty about it and sam's like nah it's a number and there's two 14s on the oklahoma 2026 roster right now i think six players have worn number six after baker mayfield another one who had maybe one of the most prolific careers and like over the nut like three-year starter finished top four in the heisman three different times has a heisman never heard a peep like it's that's why i just there's a laundry list of examples there are like 110 players on the damn team and only 100 numbers to go around like you have to wear the numbers or else you're going to get penalties because five guys are wearing number four on the same at the same time on the field like again it's a number this is some people just need to feel disrespected and i think that's what we're dealing with here yep um very and very uh sort of like an interesting whoa what what were we doing here uh kind of moment in in college football as lsu finds itself in the crosshairs i like tom's suggestion call their bluff you know fine let's and don't you don't need to make a big deal about it but i guarantee you someone on the lsu beat will be walking around the facility but hey that didn't jane daniel's face used to be there and so we'll see how things go from there okay i think the best way for us to be able to uh reset this and get ready for the win totals uh to count them up is to all ready to count them up yep yep as much as i think it's the under is a safe play like i can't even count them up how many kids you're gonna win this fall i can't fathom who wins i just can't i don't see it but not it's not on there it's not the schedule i'm looking at unless there's another schedule somewhere not to hear from our uh our friend the best general manager in college football he was uh he he caught us on cbs sports network you know i think uh we did a little disrespect not having jared curtis in our sec quarter bracket but it's okay you know fuel the fire all right we begin with the alabama crimson tide uh they are going into a season coming off a college football playoff appearance and a college football playoff win at a lot of places in america you'd be riding high you might have a couple seasons of wiggle room baby uh but no no no no this is alabama and this is the same kaylin deborah who really frustrated crimson tide fans with that loss last season over at draft kings sportsbook the over under win total is set at eight and a half with the over minus 120 and the under plus 100 the quarterback battle between keelan russell and austin mac is getting hit from every direction in terms of the coverage and yet i don't think anybody whether it's the wide receivers whether it's the coaching staff are doing anything to tip their hand one way or the other except for this which i did pick up recently there's not really a plan to go two quarterbacks into the season other schools we'll talk about today have even signaled quarterback battle does not end when the season starts they're going to keep competing this is a group that wants to get their offensive line set they want to get their quarterback set then let that group get off and go defensively i think you're talking about one of the best secondaries in the country um they've added a lot of mass right was it mass kicks ass is that what kane womack said about adding to their defensive line dk as we look at this schedule which does include games we're fired up for alabama georgia alabama tennessee alabama lsu alabama texas a&m you're looking at eight and a half um how do you think the season plays out i think they're gonna be fine i think they'll figure out the quarterback i think we all kind of our hunch and when we did the quarter bracket i think we all were like keelan russell's kind of the guy although i wouldn't be shocked if it's austin mac but you know what i do trust caitlin deborah is gonna figure out and maximize whatever qb he's got there under center week one and potentially for the entire season and i do think if it's keelan russell i think he's a perfect blend between what jaylen milrow gave you and what ty simpson gave you like i think he's a better passer than milrow and i think he's a better runner than simpson and i think you kind of marry those together it could be one of the best weapons that um caitlin deborah's had as a qb maybe at any point um when you combine those two together i'm glad you hit on the defense because i don't know if they're getting enough credit i think the defense is going to be really good i think the schedule is pretty manageable like i think if florida state like you don't know what you're going to get but that's like the revenge game you feel like that's a you cannot lose that game i think it's pretty manageable from who they play and where they play them i think it's over all day for alabama for a get into alabama i kind of just want to go over the sec as a whole because i i feel like when it's coming to when i'm trying to like you know project wins and how many games these teams are going to win this fall the sec strikes me as kind of like a souped up big 12 in that i know there are two teams at the top that i'm pretty confident in compared to the rest of the you know the league there are a few teams i expect to be at the bottom of the league and then everybody else i feel like there are a lot of coin flip games like some it's going to break it's going to break positive for some teams and it's going to break negative for others. And I, I, I mean, again, it's better talent overall deeper than the big 12, but as far as how the league is going to play out in the season, they're going to play out. I think it's very similar for Alabama. I've got them going over, but it's not with a high level of confidence. The schedule is not terrible compared to what you could be dealing with in the sec. Like if Florida state was like the Florida state, you'd hope it would be, that would be much more difficult, but again, they did lose to them last year. So we can't just assume they're going to beat them this year. But I have questions like defensively, they've got a lot back. I think they're going to be good. I think they've added, you know, they lost a couple of key guys to the portal, but they also added some decent guys in the portal on that side of the ball. The bigger question will be the offense where we have all the talk is about the new quarterback, but pretty much it's a brand new offense. Like outside of Ryan Coleman Williams and Lottie Brooks, there's really not a lot of returning stuff coming back. So in a way you could argue that this is finally, truly quote unquote, Kalen DeBoer's offense. These are his players. This is his roster. This is the identity of what they are going to look like. And I expect that they will be good. I also expect that whether he begins the season as the full-time starter by the end of the season, Keelan Russell will be the full-time quarterback for Alabama. So I'm going slightly over, not overly confident, but I do think nine and three is a little more likely than eight and four. What's the floor here? Eight and four, seven and five. God, that's losing every game of significance. I just think they can stuff their bag with a lot. I mean, there's just, you can get to six or seven wins without really having, even playing probably your B minus game. But if your quarterbacks aren't good and your offensive line isn't that good, I mean, I would say six and six mathematically is the actual floor for this team, but I think realistically it's seven and five. And especially the way the schedule breaks out, that would, to get to six and six, that means that you've lost every game of significance at the beginning of the season. Because there's games at the end of the year where you're going to continue to run that up and be trying to win style points if you think that they're an at-large team. Officially, I'm on the over and Bud did submit his picks for this one. It's funny, when I miss a show, nobody asks for Chip's picks. When Bud misses a show, everyone's like, hey, Bud, let's make sure you send your picks along. He is on the over as well. Kiss of death for Kalen DeBoer. I apologize for that. But I'm on the over as well. I'm on the over as well. But I think that eight and a half is a little too low. And I think that is not in line with the expectations for this team. If they go under this total and are eight and four, hot seat. Yeah. Right? Yeah. Hell yeah. If they're seven and five, boy, I feel bad for Kalen DeBoer. I mean, eight and four, I feel bad for him, but my goodness. The other thing too, I mean, are they going to be able to run the football better? That's a big question mark. I mean, did you see Reece Davis's sit down with Cignetti? And Cignetti's like, when we studied film, we noticed they got- Cute on fourth and short darted situations. I'm like, well, yeah. What do you think? They weren't running the ball and lining it up and mashing it down anybody's throat. So you kind of could figure that out. But I think Tom's big, that the unknown is if you like, if neither one of these quarterbacks are very good, that's your recipe for a floor that could be six and six. Yep. Count them up. Turning our attention to the Arkansas Razorbacks year one of the Ryan Silverfield era, another place where we've got several of these. In my mind, I was like, all right, KJ Jackson will be the quarterback. AJ Hill very much in that competition as well. This is an Arkansas team that as they look at their schedule, the new nine game SEC schedule hurts an Arkansas, for example. You're just adding a game against a conference opponent where you are likely going to be an underdog, where you could have put another Tulsa on there, or you could have put another game of that. Caliber against a group of six opponent. Also, non-con has a trip out to Salt Lake City to play Utah. And even if we think that team might not be at the same level it was a year ago when it was winning double digit games, still with Kyle Whittingham on the sideline, always going to be one of the toughest road trips. So as we're looking at this squad, a little bit of an uphill battle, Tom, I'll let you get first crack at this one. What do you feel confident about? Where are the pivot points either with the team or the schedule? Because we can't be lazy about this and say they're going to lose them. I see some toss-ups, even if they could go 0-9 in SEC play, potentially. I have no real. This is a brand new roster and a lot of key aspects. But I will say, if you look at what they did in the portal, it feels like most of the players that they lost moved down. And I look at what comes in, and I think there's an argument to be made that they have slightly improved. They have improved the overall talent level of the roster, at least as far as production. Maybe not as far as draft picks, but I think based on players that have actually performed and getting a little bit older, I think that you can argue that Arkansas has a slightly better roster this year than it was last year, particularly on the defensive side of the ball. Whether or not that makes a tremendous difference, I'm not sure. I don't know. I understand that KJ Jackson has a lot of hype, but this is a different offense, I think, that he's being asked to run than the one he was brought to Arkansas to run. So I don't know that he's going to come in and have a terrific season right away. It might be somewhat of a slow start. The offensive line is completely overhauled through the portal, but again, age, experience. So I have some optimism. I've got them winning 4.6 games. Whoa! So, I mean, that's an over, but it is not something I'm sitting here, like, hell yeah, brother, Arkansas. They're the sleeper team. You've got to bet the hell out of them. But yeah, it's technically an over, because I think that Utah game is far more winnable by my numbers than most people probably think it is. I do not share your optimism. I also think there's a little bit of value on the under, plus money. But I think the Utah game is an incredibly tough game. Wouldn't be shocked if they won it. It'd be huge for the SEC. to be able to tout a win over one of the best teams in the Big 12. But playing at altitude, playing early in that season, I think that's tough. I only see two guarantees, and those are the other two non-cons. Vanderbilt, I think you'd rather have at home. And I love our guy, Barton. I think Vanderbilt is going to be a tougher out. We'll see how it goes. South Carolina at home November 14th, like is South Carolina on quit watch? Like, is that one where you're trying to cloud another win? But I'm not ready to pencil it in there for him just yet. I've got him at three wins. I've got him under. To clarify, I said I have him at 4.6 wins. 3.6. Sorry. 4.6. Alright. And E-me on that one, Tom. I guess I should have introduced it. DraftKings Sportsbook has it at 3.5 over minus 140 under to the plus 120. And Danny, I'm with you. I catch this one as a 3-9 type situation. The pivot games for me are at Vanderbilt, Missouri and South Carolina. And I can talk myself into liking Vanderbilt, Missouri and South Carolina a lot more when I've got some questions to be asked. I'm glad you mentioned the defensive side and the portal changeover because it does seem as though inside, the people that are the closest to that team that are just because look, I know that sometimes Bud will send his strays about how they care more about baseball and basketball. But like a lot of these big prideful universities, the segment of Arkansas football fans are looking for anything to be happy about. And they are thinking that this is going to be a defense. I know it seems like it can't get worse. I do think they are going to be better. I think they're not just going to be a total non-existent defense optional team. I don't know if they'll be elite, but it just seems as though they are a lap or two behind even the games that are supposed to be toss-ups. So I've got them 3-9, probably going 1-2 in those toss-up games I just mentioned. Can I clarify one thing? Context for what Bud says? Because I think Bud says that Arkansas cares more about basketball and baseball. He's not saying they care about them more than football. He's saying they care about those two sports more than most other SEC teams do. Well, yeah, the pie only has but so many slices. Yeah, but I'm saying people take it like he's saying that Arkansas cares more about their baseball team than their football team. It's like, no, they just care about baseball a little bit more than most other SECs in comparison to football. No, they care more about long gun season than they do. Home game in November. That is where the decisions are made. And some schools have multiple pies to eat as well. Yeah, that's a lot. Lots to go around there. How many kids are going to win this fall? Big question for Alex Golish and the Auburn Tigers. As he arrives, he shows up with some really good players coming with him from South Florida, among them, obviously, Byron Brown. I think that defensively, you're looking at a group where he was able to retain some of the better players from last year's group. And a lot of that kind of in a similar storyline that we had with James Franklin was being able to retain DJ Durkin and sort of keep some continuity on that side of the ball. The schedule does not offer a lot of layups for Auburn. We mentioned the Arkansas team that was just there. That game is going to be on the plains. And so it's nice to be able to get that one on your own home turf. You're going to start in Atlanta. in a game against Dave Aranda and Baylor. all of a sudden you're going to be off and running home game against Florida feels huge home game against Vanderbilt feels huge. You want to be able to get some success early to be able to build some confidence moving forward. DK, do you think, do you think that they're going to be able to get it enough wins early to get through the gauntlet? And then maybe at the end of this finish, uh, not just at bowl eligibility, because at DraftKings Sportsbook over under win totals at six and a half over minus one 15 under minus one Oh five. I think there's something special brewing at the grand Marriott resort and spa and Opelika there where the team is hunkered down, just getting together. Those team bonding activities, just getting together. Uh, I think they start four. No, can it give them the win against Baylor? Byron Brown's already got a win against the Gators in Gainesville. I know it's a new regime, but they're not intimidated because a lot of those other teammates came with them. Um, I think Byron Brown is built physically to be able to handle the type of workload. Now, I don't know if he's going to be a thousand yard rusher again, like he was last year with USF, but I do think that is a huge advantage to have that option in some tight one possession games where you're trying to extend drives and third and fourth down short yardage situations. I think he'll be able to do that, especially when there are questions on the offensive line. I think that helps take some of the pressure off the offensive line. I think they're four and Oh, to start, I have them beating. Arkansas, I had him beating a Mississippi state and have beating Samford to get seven. I believe that if we look at Auburn last year, incredible defense, horrible offense. A lot of that defense is back. Yeah. And the problem that Auburn had last year was the offense couldn't score points to help alleviate what that defense was able to do. I'm confident that with Gillespie there. And Byron Brown there, this team will score points because Hugh freeze the great offensive mind who was supposed to fix the offense kept bringing in dog doodoo quarterbacks who had failed elsewhere in power four leagues. And he thought he could get the most out of them. And frankly, he just didn't. Byron Brown is not a dog doodoo quarterback. Byron Brown is a good player. He might not have the same numbers that he had at South Florida as he, as he will in the Auburn when he's playing against his schedule, but this offense will be better now. The wide receiving position, probably not going to be better because they lost some pretty decent dudes to the portal, which I can't understand why those guys would want to leave Auburn. But I still think the defense should be very good. The offense should be improved. This team will be better. I got them going over. It's not like a super confident locking it up in the locks pod at the end of the win totals, but I think seven and five is a bit more likely than six and six. I would not draft an Auburn wide receiver in a college fantasy league because I think it is by committee. I think they're throwing bodies out there. They're going to try to play fast. You know, Keyshawn Singleton, Jeremiah Kroger, Jeremiah Kroger could end up being the top receivers by the end of the season. But I'm a little bit wary of the offensive line rebuilding. I mean, like a lot of new head coaches having to totally rebuild that offensive line. They've also taken, they've got some players who are trying to come back from injury, some players who suffered some injuries during the summer workout period. So injury issues along a rebuilt offensive line has me slightly on the other side of a couple games that for the most part on a talent level are coin flips. I think Auburn getting to a bowl at all is a successful season. I've got Auburn slightly under, I think this is more of a five and seven, six and six coin flip, than it is necessarily DraftKings Sportsbook telling you it's a six and six, seven and five coin flip. So I'm going to go on the underside, but a lot of that is only because of offensive line and the narrow, narrow margins that they have for success here in year one, going up against this schedule. Danny, what's the optimism like with our local Gators? You know, because I've, I mean, I've, I've heard wide, wide ranges. I mean, it, this will surprise a lot of you. You know, there's, it can get a little delusional, you know, but we also have our, our friends, you know, inside the cover three tailgate that are a little bit more closer to reality. DraftKings Sportsbook has this at seven and a half over plus 130 under minus 150. 56. So heavily juiced towards the idea of seven and five. And if you think eight and four is there, boy, you've got some good plus money opportunity. The another place where we even put Aaron Philo in our quarter bracket. And I don't know that that's a hundred percent certainty that he ends up being the wide ends up being the starting quarterback. Love this wide receiver room. Seems like they're getting a lot of their stars healthy. Couple questions that you still need to answer. What's, what's the expectation here with the Gators? I think there was a ton of optimism as there should be. I think early in the off season when some raw was hired, cause I think it was probably one of the best hires of this cycle. You know, the optimism was really high. I think it's kind of come about down to earth a little bit where it's more realistic expectations. Um, I think the quarterback remains a massive question. There's a lot of talent though that returned on this team. You know, I mean, they get Jaden ball back, really good running back. They've got some good pieces on the defensive side of the ball. Um, the way I approached this was if I was going to be over on Auburn cause they win that game, I'm going under on Florida because I think they lose that game at Auburn. That game is huge for both of these coaches. And it kind of probably sets the tone for the whole season. Somebody asked me the other day, like, what do you think Aaron follow is going to do? And I was like, I, I, I liked what I saw of them in small portions, but I have no idea if he's going to be able to, you know, replicate the kind of success that you want to have at Florida. To have them at eight or nine wins. So until I see that, and I like Buster Faulkner a lot, I think he puts his quarterback in really good positions, really creative with the run game. Um, I put Haynes King. We saw what he did on Thursday night last week. Like he's a really, really good quarterback who helped him a ton. You know, I, there's a lot of coin flick games, which I think some wrong his staff will have this team, you know, right in there. I don't love that. The Georgia game is in Atlanta this year. It's more of a true road game than it has been. Playing neutral in Jacksonville. Um, you know, I had act Texas a loss. Can they shock? I don't want to say shock. Can they beat Ole Miss Oklahoma? You know, those, one of those two or both of them potentially, but I still think those teams are better than Florida. So I went under and, and some of the other ones that I'm giving them wins for, I'm not like a hundred percent. Oh, that's a win. Gator Danny, where have you gone? I can under. Um, listen there, this bud would tell you they're going to be favored in every game. Um, I, all right, let me get this one. Great call by the tailgate. I said that bud sent his picks in. I haven't given any more of buds picks out. So just for those that are keeping track, uh, w w who, what would be the name of somebody who tails buds picks a bud, better a bud, a bud head. Oh, I'm trying to, I'm trying to, I was going Jimmy Buffett. But you know, like for kind of like a butthead for the buttheads out there, he's over on Alabama, he's over on Arkansas. He's under on Auburn. And as Tom mentioned, I don't even need to, yeah, you could have filled it. If you're a true butthead, then, uh, then you know that he's over on Florida, seven and a half. So am I, um, I, if you look at Connelly's returning production ratings, Florida's defense is the most returning production of anybody. And I think. I think if you look at their overall numbers last year, they weren't overwhelmingly good, but they were very good for the first half of the season. And then they got to the back half of the year when it was very clearly obvious that, you know, things were not going well, that the numbers kind of fell off of a cliff. So you kind of wonder about maybe this was a team that was kind of more worried about what was going to happen this off season than it was with the teams that they were playing on the field that in any given week. So I do have confidence that this defense is going to be good. Some are all coming in only buoys that conference that the confidence that the defense is going to be good offensively. That's where a lot of the questions are. We need to see if Aaron Philo is that guy. or if it's going to end up being Jones that ends up taking that job and winning it and taking over. But I think you're hoping, ideally, that it's Philo, since he's so already familiar with the offense coming over with Buster Faulkner. I think if you look at the receiver position, I know Trey Wilson went to LSU, but Eric Singleton came in, and I think that's an upgrade. I think Trey Wilson is a very talented player, but he's never on the field. He's unreliable, whereas Eric Singleton is productive and he plays every single damn week. So I think that's a bonus for them. The offensive line, I wasn't in love with last year. They got three new projected starters for it on the portal. We'll see how that goes. I think Harris and Jones are good, or at least people worth keeping an eye on. So I think that unit can be improved. I think that just overall, the kind of mental and cultural reset for this program that has been kind of lost in the wilderness a little bit these last few years could help them a lot. And the schedule, again, it's not going to be a bad thing for them. It's not going to be a bad thing for them. It's not easy, but it is not a monster. I've got them going over. Like, Summerall has been in a conference title game in each of his four years. He got to Troy, quickly won. He gets to Tulane, quickly wins. This is a much different job. Like, I don't think he can take Florida from where it's been to the top of the SEC in year one. I think it might take him a few years to do it. But I definitely think this team is going to improve. So I'm over. Got nine and three ceiling. Okay. Six and six floor. I mean, I'm spot on. Not rushing to bet this whatsoever. Given the prices, I'll go with the over plus 130. And the key for this, unfortunately, Danny, is just if you think FSU is totally locked in, hell yeah, they could beat the Gators in a rivalry weekend at the end of the season. But if you think they're going to be checked out, that goes from being, what would that be? Projected, probably Florida goes into Tallahassee as like a four. Four and a half or five, six point favorite. But if the team's checked out, then that turns into a little bit more of a guaranteed win. Again, spot on it. Not rushing to bet it. But if I'm going one side or the other on the fence, I'll lean to the over looking at nine and three ceiling, six and six floor on that one. Sorry, Ryan. Can't be favored in 16 games. That's not how math works. I would put the ceiling higher though. Like, I think if five was good. I think 11 and one's the ceiling. Yeah, I think so too. I think they could be awesome. Like, and I'd be more than happy to see that. But I just think a lot of unknown at quarterback. But if he's special, again, like one of the top three or four quarterbacks in the league, which every year we've had some new player that we don't know is going to be that good, you know, surprises, then yeah. And again, it goes back to what I said at the top. Like, this is a souped up big 12. Like, the range of outcomes is very wide for a lot of these teams. I think that when I look at Florida's defense on paper, they play three or four teams that I think have definitely better defenses on paper. Yeah. And so 11, that's why I would be like, what? 11 and one would mean that a lot of people proved me wrong on that side, offensive line as well. But it should be a very, very fun year for the OG Troy boy there as he takes over in Gainesville. Count them out! Turning our attention to their rival, the Georgia Bulldogs. DraftKings Sportsbook. DraftKings Sportsbook has this one at 9.5 with minus 180 to the over. So if you want to play with 10.5, that's minus 190 to the under. There is not, unless, of course, you want to go under the 9.5 or over the 10.5, things get a little bit tricky here because it's the daggum Georgia Bulldogs, all right? They could go 12-0. There is not a single game that you look at Georgia's schedule with the team that they've got in place and you're like, oh, gosh. Well, we've got to chalk that one up as a loss. The question for me is what happens against Florida? What happens against Oklahoma? What happens against Alabama? What happens against Ole Miss? Are you going to be able to address the things that you need to address with a very young team that has continued to try to get a little bit better? Defensively, is the pass rush going to be back? We know the secondary is going to be good, but if a quarterback's got all daggum day to throw, it's hard to cover SEC wide receivers for that long. It's going to be awful, awful ATV accident. You know, puts a little bit of a hurt in the running back room. Now we're basically just down to Nate Frazier and Chauncey Bowens. Who steps up with the mass exodus of pass catchers as well? Tom, I'll let you get first word on the dogs. We were once a Georgia pod. Are you a Georgia supporter here heading into 2026? I am. I said there were two teams in this league I felt confident about. This is one of them. Like, you look at the roster. There's a ton of them. There's a ton of guys coming back. And we've talked about it all offseason. There weren't a lot of Bulldogs in the NFL draft this year compared to most years because they're all coming back. It was a very young team last year. It's still a young team this year. Pretty much the entire defense is back. There are a lot of changes on offense. Like, you know, you lose Zach Branch, but you bring in London Humphreys from Vanderbilt, who I think is a very good player who maybe people didn't pay too much attention to because he was at Vandy, and they'll probably see a lot more of now at Georgia. But the one question I have there is, I shared this stat on Twitter last week about how Georgia was third most in the country as far as passes at or behind the line of scrimmage, with a full third of their pass attempts pretty much being bubble screens. But that was Zach Branch because you wanted to get Zach Branch in space because that's what he does best. He's not a refined route runner who you want running curls and slants and all that kind of stuff. Humphreys was very much a deep threat for Vanderbilt. So while we didn't see Gunner Stockton throwing down the field a ton last year, he is capable of doing it. There were throws he would make at times on like third down and just down the seams where he was able to make it to the sidelines. I'm wondering if we see a bit of a different approach in the passing game because of that, or if he's incapable of doing it, maybe the personnel doesn't quite match up, and this is still going to be somewhere where we have to be overly reliant on our ground game. And as you mentioned, Chip, they've already suffered injuries at that ground game, which could impact them going forward. But just these are little nits I'm picking, just trying to find things that could go wrong. They're going to be a little bit more difficult. They're going to have one of the best offensive lines in the league. They're going to have one of the best defensive lines in the league, although you still hope to get more of a pass rush than you got last year, which I think was the one area that they actually struggled with. The back seven is going to be one of the best in the country again. They're going to be much better than the team they're facing most of these weeks. They're going to win at least 10 games over. Humphreys was there last year. Sixth on the team in catches. So, you know, 18 catches across 14 games. He got a couple. Big splash plays, but they're going to need more from him. That is undoubtedly a huge part of this. Isaiah Canyon transferring over from Georgia Tech is another guy they're looking for. DK, how do you read the Bulldogs? Who did I confuse London with? I would say I think it's worth the flyer to say they go over 10 and a half. You know, two tough road games, Ole Miss and Alabama. I like Alabama, too. I'd probably lean to them getting Ole Miss. And, you know, they split with them last year, beat them at home, lost in the playoffs. But I think this defense is going to be much improved. I feel like exactly the reasons you were talking about. Very young. I think they'll figure out how to get more pressures, make quarterbacks uncomfortable, make them confused. And as much as you can say, complain about the offense, they just kind of have that identity. Like they don't need the flash and fireworks. If they do get a little bit more, which maybe they do, then they're a national championship contender. But I think Gunnar Stockton is exactly. What you want for Kirby Smart. He's steady. He's tough. He can get you those hard yards if he has to put down his nose, but he's not going to make the big mistake. I think it's worth the risk taking the over 10 and a half. It doesn't. Oh, go ahead, Tom. Georgia fans. I'm sorry. You can yell at me all you want. I'll take it. I had in my spreadsheet. I had a London and Isaiah Canyon spot on the roster. Isaiah is the guy who transferred him this year. Not. Yes. Yeah. Yeah. I wonder what Georgia Georgia will not be defined by these regular season wins. We're going to talk about Georgia and whether it was a success or not on whether or not they're able to get a college football playoff win, something that we have not seen since they won the national championship in the 2022 season. One and done two years in a row in the 12 team playoff. There's sort of a bigger picture feel for the dogs. Officially, I am on the over. I would take the over nine and a half and I would even break off a little bit extra to get the plus money on the over 10 and a half and think that this is a group that can be 11 and one playing in the SEC championship yet again. A team that I trust. God, you hit it so good, Tom. There's no team that I trust to make the playoff in the SEC more than the Georgia Bulldogs. You might favor another team in the SEC in terms of getting once they're in the playoff, being able to win those extra games down the line, identifying quarterbacks. Pass catcher, sort of general offensive explosiveness as something they're trying to do. And no doubt in training camp as Kirby's defense of Mike Bobo, man, get you someone who loves you like Kirby loves Bobo because he is defending him at every corner at SEC media days at Tampa. Now, whenever he's getting asked about it, a little more friendly questions now that we're into the training camp portion of the proceedings. But I don't think it'll be the cha-cha slide offense. I think they're going to be downhill. personnel. We're throwing to Cash Jones. You know, we are just trying to move that football. Wait, hold on. Cash is still there, right? Check your spreadsheet. No. Nope. Cash is gone. Oh, God. Although, hey, my spreadsheet might be wrong, so don't take my word for it. Throw it to Nate Frazier. I clearly screwed up my spreadsheet during the offseason. Yeah, I'm on the over here at nine and a half. I would even take the over at 10 and a half. I think that there's a pretty awesome, in this world where things continue to shift all the time, the consistency of Kirby Smart's Georgia program is a comfortable fall jacket that I'm excited to have. Thank you. Woof, woof, woof. Mmm. All right. Woof, woof, woof, woof. How many games y'all going to win this fall? Why are we going to win? Because of me. All right, Will. Well, how many? How many wins are going to be because of you? The Kentucky Wildcats enter year one of the Will Stein era over under win total of four and a half over minus 148 under plus 124. Kenny Minchie set at the quarterback position, but guys, I don't have a lot of clarity anywhere else. The Kentucky staff is pushing back on trying to declare any kind of depth chart, any kind of position winners. So you're just left with trying to put this thing together. I think, think offensive line is this team's strength. I think they've got a lot of experience. I thought they had some good portal additions. I think that in a way that might not be dissimilar to the best Kentucky teams, it might be a team that has to win at the line of scrimmage. Don't know if I'm ready to go to Mark Stoops' level of confidence in Kentucky's defense when they were churning out NFL draft picks along that defensive front year in and year out. The schedule in general, hey, like, you're going to get a lot of time. You're going to get a lot of time. You're going to get to stack a couple of wins, but naturally with a four and a half win total, you know that it's going to get really, really tricky. And your third non-conference game, other than Youngstown State, now South Alabama, is going to be a rivalry game against the Louisville Cardinals. DK, do you have any more clarity in terms of just the overall roster or what to expect here with Kentucky? No, except I'm worried because I think the expectation is, oh, this is going to be, you know, and everybody loved the hire, right? I think I did too. But, oh, they're going to get right back to where Stoops had them, like in their prime where they were eight, nine wins and knocking off Florida and, you know, perennially going to a bowl game. I think this might be a little tougher. You're resetting a culture. It's a lot harder to call plays at Kentucky than it is at Oregon. I think it could be a struggle. I think for the value of it, I'm going to go under on it. I think it could be a little bit tougher because I do think some of the non-con, I think the Louisville game is going to be tough. I think Louisville is going to be better. I think they're going to be better than they are this season. I don't see a lot of wins on the schedule. Maybe South Carolina. But South Carolina is a huge game for South Carolina. We're going to talk about them tomorrow. Like that's, Kentucky shows up to South Carolina. Kentucky shows up to Missouri. And those are games that those teams are like, got to get this one. I am also on the under. It's a brand new roster. And I think that shit like you, you mentioned you're confident in the offensive line. I think the offensive line is a very good reflection of what this roster is, at least what Kentucky did in the portal. I think they upgraded the talent level of this team, at least if you look at like recruiting rankings and transfer portal rankings. But they didn't get a lot of production. And I look at the offensive line and it's a lot of guys who were maybe four or five star recruits back when they first entered college, but they weren't playing a whole lot of snaps at their old school. They were backups and now they're coming here to be starters. So, there is still some question of is it reality or is it still a lot of projection left? How long will that take to have that kind of inexperience in the SEC? Like, how will that impact you? Same story with Kenny Minchey. Highly rated. Was never really a full time player at Notre Dame, although, you know, again, according to last year, he was given C.J. Carr a real run for the money as far as a starting gig. So I have a certain level of confidence in Will Stein with a quarterback in that the offense will be quarterback friendly. And play to his strengths and help, you know, help him put up numbers and move the ball. So I do think that for Kentucky fans who have had to suffer through some of the most offensive offenses that you could possibly imagine the last few years where every single yard felt like a struggle for life and death, you're going to be happier when your team has the ball than you have been the last couple of years. It's just, I don't know that you're going to be happy enough to where they're going to win a whole lot of games. Like the schedule, I don't think does them a whole lot of favors. No, they're not playing Texas. Texas and Georgia. But a lot of the more coin-flippy games are on the road. And then at home, you've got Alabama, who we think is going to be good. You've got LSU, who's probably going to be pretty good. You've got a Florida team that we're all, except for Danny, somewhat high on. And then you've got Louisville at the end in non-con, which is never an easy game because Louisville always tends to be a tough opponent. So I think that this program made a good hire. I think it will start paying dividends in the long run. I do not think it will pay immediate ones, so under. For all the Bud heads out there, Bud also on the under, taking that plus 124. There is no offering at DraftKings Sportsbook for this very specific prop. But man, it feels like this is a team that is going to be three and seven and jump up off the mat and upset somebody and then lose-lose. You know, like it's just, ah, man, eight losable games right at the end of the schedule after that South Alabama game. I think it is only a confidence in the general vibe shift that you would say, maybe they can jump up and upset somebody because that happens. It's college football. But yeah, I'm on the under as well. I think this is a really, really tough ask and definitely a lay the foundation season in terms of my expectations for Kentucky. How many games are going to win this fall? Well, we started with LSU. And we continue the conversation about LSU, but not about Jaden Daniels, not about ceasing nor desisting. No, we are talking about this year's team. How about Sam Levitt out there, getting out there, throwing the ball, looking like he should be fully healthy. I'm not easing off some of my concern, feeling a little bit more confident in what he can do. Wide receiver room, man, absolutely loaded. I still need to be shown a really effective run game. It's great that Kwon Lacey, you know, was the, the backbone of that Ole Miss team. I don't think it's a lane thing. I just think it's a personnel, whether Caden Durham and the rest of that room, the offensive line, whether they're set to go, but boy, it looks like they can, they're going to be able to throw that thing around if they're playing with some pace, defensively, very, very fun combination of young guys who in the early weeks of camp are getting a lot of run and, uh, move cycling in a lot of bodies. Danny eight and a half. So our wind total with a. Very fair split from DraftKings Sportsbook over minus 1:15 under minus 1:05. It is the LSU schedule. It's opens at home, uh, against the Clemson Tigers, but then includes dynamite games against the likes of an Alabama, Texas, Ole Miss, Texas, A&M, Tennessee. I mean, they're playing all the teams from the SEC for the most part, other than Georgia, who have been in the college football playoff the last two years and LSU is the blue blood. Well, I guess, you know, the power blue blood is not the right term. The SEC power that has not been in the college football playoff 12 team club yet. No appearances over the last two seasons. How do you think this season plays out? What are your points of confidence and concern? It's definitely one of the greatest collection of talent in the sport, uh, with the roster that they have purchased. Um, Lane Kiffin is a great offensive mind. Sam Levitt's injury. It's a massive concern. Lack of depth behind him. Who knows? Maybe there's a. Trinidad Chambliss on the bench. Um, did it bring in a transfer from Elon? It was really good last year. Maybe we see. Oh, we got long street. The old USC. Yeah. Yeah. It's on long street. Yeah. I'm talking about Landon Clark, though. Battles back up. Um, Phoenix. I just, there's a lot of chaos. Lane's kind of a chaos coach too. Like, I don't think he runs exactly the tightest ship. Like to me, it's either all or nothing for LSU. I, I need to see it first. I'm going to go on the under. They're going to have a bullseye on the back. You mentioned the game against Clemson tigers. It's not the Clemson tigers. It's a bunch of nobodies. Um, that's what Dabo Sweeney said. No, nobody's given many credit and they are overlooking. They are all just putting that in as a dub and remember their lack of success in week one under Brian Kelly. I do think they win that game. Ole Miss is Ken. That game's huge, but like, then you got to get right back for Texas A&M. And I know it's at home, but Texas A&M, if you get caught sleeping or celebrating that Ole Miss win, watch out. I mean, they're going to have the bullseye on their back. They're going to get everybody's back. Best effort. I'm on the under with LSU. Wow. You know, I wanted to be on the under. I know. I am not. Yeah, because I hate Lane Kiffin. No, but because I just wanted to kind of fade the hype. But I can't. I'm on the over. I think this is a very talented roster. But it really does kind of hinge on Sam Levitt and whether he's healthy. Because if he is hurt, you've got Longstreet as the backup. But we've never seen Longstreet in a real kind of playing role. So, we don't know who he is yet for real. And then you've got this schedule. So, talent-wise, this team stacks up very well on paper. The schedule, comparatively, not horrific. They don't have to play Georgia. They don't have to play Alabama. Or they do play Alabama, but they get them at home. They get Texas at home. Your road schedule, I mean, the Ole Miss game will be insane. But, like, Kentucky, Auburn, Tennessee, and Arkansas, like, if you're drawing up, the ideal road schedule for an SEC team, maybe you swap out Tennessee for Mississippi State, and then that's perfect. You know what I mean? So, yeah, I'm on the over. But this is also one of those teams, again, wide range of outcomes here. If Levitt gets hurt, this could be a 6-6, 7-5 team. If he's healthy and plays to his capability, this could be a 10-2 team. Over. If everything clicks and there are no problems and we don't have any, like, weird, you know, going-to-Kentucky-brings-back-bad-memories kind of situation, 12-0. I've got 12-0, 7-5 as my sort of range right here. They could win every single game. There's not a single time that Lane Kiffin's year one LSU team takes the field where they will be outclassed and not be given a fair chance to be able to go out there and win. Now, stacking all of those on top of each other and going into those difficult times, those difficult matchups at Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Alabama, Texas, even at Tennessee, geez, speaking of Lane Kiffin nightmares, you're going to have to go back to Knoxville, the land of mustard bottles and golf balls. So, yeah, there is a everything explodes and it's too combustible and the chaos ends up breaking the bad way. And, yeah, that to me probably leads to something a little bit closer to 7-5, but I think the ceiling is far more intriguing and I think the ceiling is far more likely than the everything. Everything falls apart just because of the talent of this team. And Lane Kiffin did lead Ole Miss to great success, like some of the best success in the modern era. Now he's at LSU. I'm on the over here and actually by one of my larger margins, 9.5 was mine. So you throw me 8.5 with a fair price, I am uncomfortably very, very high on LSU against the marketplace. I also think I'm more. I'm more questionable of Sam Leavitt. Not only the health, but also the play. You know, like there's a difference playing in the Big 12. But, I mean, if you go watch how he did even against Mississippi State, you know, I mean, he's a 61% completion percentage guy over two years. You know, he's peak and run, but it's again, it's more physical. Window's a little tighter. Kind of curious to see how he does, even if he is healthy. Baller against Texas in the playoff. Yeah. Made some big throws. Yes. That's where being a little gamer, you know, might actually be a good style fit for what Charlie Weiss Jr. and, you know, sort of the way that that offense is all set up. I mean, if we're going to. We love Kamario Taylor. We think Kamario Taylor is an incredibly gifted quarterback who is set for a big season. But if Mississippi State is going to go over the DraftKings Sportsbook posted win total of four and a half wins at over minus 120, under plus 100, they have to get better on the defensive side. It is Mississippi State. I know that you are going to find yourself as an underdog often in SEC play. But if we want to talk about getting over this win total, there's also a very difficult early season non-conference. Road trip up to go play Minnesota in the stadium where they were seven and oh last season and then follow that up against South Carolina, another tough place to play before you even just sort of get rip rolling with the rest of your SEC schedule. So with the, you know, appreciation and support for Kamario Taylor acknowledged here, Jeff Levy has an offensive mind, Zach Arnett trying to fix the defense. What does it all lead to Tom? Where do we think we see this, uh, this bulldog squad at the end of the season? Clang. Clang. Clang. Wow. Over. I am. I am. I am stupidly high on this team. I. Bull team? Yeah. If, if this is really a souped up big 12 is I think it is, that means somebody has to come out of nowhere to surprise us. So when you're looking for that team, what do you want? You want the really talented quarterback in the offense. It's probably going to score a lot of points. I think Kamario Taylor is going to be a big one. I think he's going to be a big one.
