Got numbers back behind the foot. The crows probably over the last five games they played to the honest. Have played really slow. Not quite boring football, but not the attacking style they were playing in the first half of last year. So, the team is a huge out for them. He's got hinge missing from the back line. So, a couple of really good ball users. And they just, from my point of view, they don't have enough good use of half bat, which is leading to this pretty average slow ball movement. So, to win in Jolong, you have to take the game on. I think you can get it Jolong's defenders. If you move the ball with real, with real speed. So, that would be my focus for them this week. And also some questions around their midfield. Like Dawson's outstanding, and he can stand up against a strong Jolong midfield. So, you're saying, mate, that this is a personnel thing, not so much a math-unique-driven thing, because you would think with, you know, you're three forwards in Thilthorpe and Foggy-Din and Walker. And then you're getting it in there as quick as you can. So, do you think it's directly from the coach, or is it a personnel, you know, a couple of personnel missing? Well, we have Rory Lad on HWH. And he assures us it's not a message from the coach. Maybe in their scouting of the Bulldogs, they realise that the Bulldogs do get numbers behind the footies so well. And there's opportunities to go lateral and take marks and build the ball up that way. Whether they took that message too far, but we keep hearing it's not a message. Yeah, like I said, Ken is so underrated, and he's a massive loss. And for a guy that intercepts us as well as he does, he also really takes the game on. But if he makes a mistake, he doesn't care. He just keeps going for it. So, you're missing him, missing Dan Kert. And then the injuries are starting to pile up a little bit for them. As a poor dad made as well. So, I haven't one down in just one for 23 years. So, I'll just be taking the game on and have a crack and see what happens. Archer Reed's under him, probably not spoken about as much either, but he will be now. I thought it was the general, and he's really just breaking into a new net. I love watermelon. They're two senior players, key players in regards to ball movement, possessions and skill. Yeah, I agree. If it was Jess Conner, you could have replaced miles and put miles into the midfield. There was talk that miles would play more midfield this year, but he played most of his footy off halfback. So losing both of them who both they play with speed, they've got great agility, they take the game on. I'm assuming they'll bring in Oli Wynne. I thought he'd retire. Well, he's been outstanding what he's done, but he's not Conner in the way he moves. The way he takes the game on and putting Oli Wynne and Willem Drew in the same midfield. I'm a little concerned about, I think, Locky Jones has recovered from his slight hammy, he'll replace Miles Bergman, but they're huge losses miles and Conner, they've been the top five best players to port. Port don't have great depth. So I'm a little concerned or worried about this game. I just, you guys tell me, can West Coast bring that same energy, youthful energy and play with the flared I did last week at 930 at Abbeyed Oval on Sunday? Just remember, their second half against Gold Coast, not forget about, just they had moments in the game here, they got sort of like behind the eight ball early. First quarter. But they have, they don't, there's not a role over mentality, they're no longer with these kids. And the thing about what we noticed really clearly on Sunday was their tight, their tight isn't a group. These young guys that you can see that they're looking at each other going, "Right, it's us, it's us." And we're the ones taking this club forward and they're in it together. And that's a mentality that you have where you can bring each week. It's a mindset thing. But when you ever look at that, I know it all, it'll come to you under a lot of supply. But the three names you mentioned there, Chatein, or Archer Read and Shanahan, who's my favorite, Duff Tartler, who just looked amazing for 200 centimetres. You've got a backline of, well, you've put out a lot of, got a backline of Alia and Redigalia and Totti Marshall's going back there as well. Alia loves to seep off. And these young boys, all three of those young boys present at the footy and they go to the boot. So they're going to have to, or Alia at least has to adjust a little bit to having a player that presents and presents hard. Yeah, the best, the best man out of the three-port defenders, you spoke about there at defending hard weight ups. He's a saver. When he's on, he's really good at that. He's just a lockdown, then he's. Paul hasn't played on a four yet that heats up and presents really well. Totti's been there, namely for his intercept work and good use. And like you said, Alia, Alia had his first really strong game for a while last week. Totti marks played really well. But he's, like you said, he's great in high ball 1v1s and then coming off to intercept and can struggle against fast dynamic. He's up forward. So that's a huge test for those three-port defenders. Harley Reid, okay, a couple of things. We're going to touch on Totti. Yeah, Harley Reid and Ajax. I'm going to have to, on Reid. What did you make of the Patti Voss stuff, which has been making news right around the country? The made news here. There's, you know, everyone's going, "Oh, a little bit of showmanship, a bit of character and stuff." I think there is a bit of that, but you earn your stripes for that type of stuff. What would you have done if Patti Voss had walked up to you, Chad, and rubbed the back of your head? What would have been the feedback you would have provided? Well, firstly, I loved the way he plays. I said earlier in the wake, I would have loved to have played with him, I would have loved to have coached him. I loved the way he gets the crowd and he's 10-going. But I didn't love that incident. I think I've heard a lot of people say it and I said it earlier in the wake. I think that you fear game if you rubbed some on the head, that just deserves whatever the opponent wants to give you. So back in the day, Scotty, similar to what you and Jammo did to each other. Jammo did to you. Yeah, that's what I like it. Oh, the thunderboss, I like. No doubt about that. You'd hope you didn't have his mouthguard in. And there should be a rule in, right? And this would seep through Junior Football more than anything else, right? Because they sort of, the pads on the head and the taunting, right? I still have a lot of friends there and a lot of people I know and you know it's always difficult when clubs are going through these types of situations and clearly everyone at the club will be hurting right now. So I feel for them. I know that they're doing everything they can to turn things around and I think that they can but yeah unfortunately they're currently in a pretty challenging spot. Tell our W.A. listeners who have now racing themselves for the arrival of the Perth Bears and you weren't there as an original at the Melbourne storm. You're in the AFL space. How impactful or how important or what even know what Melbourne storm hold inside the Melbourne sporting lands go. Yeah I think it's a really unique opportunity for people in Perth to embrace their own team playing rugby league in the NRL competition. I've seen the power of the brand in Melbourne. Obviously Melbourne being one of the biggest sporting cities in the world, let alone the country and we hold this unique place in the Melbourne sporting landscape where everybody's second favourite team. So for the Perth Bears they're not here trying to compete with the dockers or with the Eagles but they're here to exist in the same sporting market and so for all of the AFL fans out there who want to have a look at rugby league I would strongly suggest you come along and have a look at our game, have a look at the double header happening this year and get on board with the Perth Bears because every second weekend your team's not playing in Perth. So why not go down to HPF Park and watch the Bears play game rugby league. It's great entertainment and it's going to be something that I think sports fans can connect with but you've got to give it a go and that's the first point. Does your crowd support waiver or do you just have your constant rusted on supporters and members? Do you get a lot of walkthroughs? Do you get a lot of people go, "Hey we've heard about the Melbourne storm. There's no out our team's not playing this weekend." What's your sort of percentage of walkins and regulars? Yeah I know I've got a combination of everything. We've got over 10,000 reserve seat members at Amy Park. So over a thousand foundation members who have been with us since 1998. We get over 12,000 casual ticket sales to every game. So as an example last Friday night we sold out against the Brisbane Broncos, Friday night in Melbourne. We're the only game in town. Incredible atmosphere. We had a massive activation out on Gossars Paddy before the game. Obviously unfortunately on the field we didn't win the match. I don't want to talk about that. In terms of the entertainment, the product, the match day experience, how close you are to the action in rugby league. You really do hear the hits. It's a very, very different experience and it's one that I know any sports fan once you give it a go. I think they'll really embrace it. When you dig a little into Melbourne storm or you pay attention to when they came into the competition and what you were just saying there about having a real connection with Melbourne, which no one probably expected to be as big as it is. But they've been in a phenomenal organisation from the start to we are right now as well being successful along the lines. They've you see people at the footy especially ANZ-8 Dayward. They have the ANZ-8 Day game and then straight over to Amy Park. People will be at the footy with their SNN or Collingwood jumper on and their storm shirt over their shoulder because they're getting changed on the walkover because they're doing both. Have the Perth Bears hierarchy reached out to say how do we how do we do it? Yeah they have. We've been in ongoing conversations with them. In fact that's how the game play we're playing in August over here, eventuated. We started discussing with the Bears, you know, the way that the Melbourne storm connected with the sports fans in Melbourne being in an AFL dominant market. And you know that's been something from from their perspective, how they can use those insights to build a connection to fans here. It's been something that's really important to them and we started thinking about we have a 12th home game that we can take to another market each year and 2027 was open for discussion. So 2026 was open and we decided that we'd bring our game over here and work with the Bears to help them in the lead up to their inaugural season next year. Justin Rodzki is in the studio Melbourne storm CEO. So the game is August 8, around 23 mainly see it was at HPF Park, which is a rectangular stadium. So beautiful for rugby league fans and rugby league to be played. Ticket start at $10 for children. 29 for adults and be available from 11 o'clock today from ticket master. So when you're talking about a Melbourne storm, I know how to engage with community because you have to lie in Sydney and there's not no things up in Sydney, man. And in fact, the best part about Craig is he has genuine respect for people in their roles. So me coming across from AFL five years ago now, he automatically engaged with me, built a relationship and then we have a level of respect for the roles that we play and we work really well together on that. And he's had a person like Frank Penese, he's his general manager of football who's been this Batman and Robin to everything that they do across the football program and I can play the roles CEO and look at the overarching sense. - I'm chipping, there's a lot of CEOs that want to be involved in the football program. - Lidemann Sniffers, I call them Scott and Lidemann Sniffers and I don't like Lidemann Sniffers. - You're not going into selection saying why are you playing him? - Fair to say I'm not involved in match committee now. Obviously, you've got the Western Force over here, but the NRL is flying and the game has never been a stronger position. You've got Vegas, you've got World Cup, you've got Pacific Champs. You've got a broadcast deal coming up that's going to be the biggest in the code's history. There's more expansion coming as well with the Pupp and you get any chiefs coming in. It's going to be a national game, it's been globalised. And I think that right now is the best possible time for the Perth Bears to come into the competition. So, there's our gaping of 12 or 13, 3 or this deep 5. So up against the blast, really. In terms of what has been done over pre season, there were actually full time. I felt athletes so good test for us and it came away with, when was a good step in the right direction for what we've done over the, we've got a few things wrong here and there, but was able to test a few things out as well. So happy with the three games we've got through and give another way, and it's around one road to go. Listen, good minor, mind's act, man. He's an absolute champ in human being. He's been elevated, I think, to an ecaptancy position as well. Is he vice captain? Vice captain? You know, no, no, you've got top end experience, but you do have a lot of young boys coming through that same from Ash. Very excited. Yeah, they are. It's refreshing for the whole group as well, not to get rid of the experience. But for these young guys to have a go and just play off their instinct and talent and first of all, it's, yeah, it's refreshing for the whole group and it's bringing something else and a fresh legs as well. They can run all day do things that I can't do jumping wise and pace wise. So, yeah, it's going to be exciting for us. The youngest side, no one over the age of 30, like 10, 30 later this year. So, yeah, that says a lot about our squad and how young it is and yeah, it's going to be excited. There's a group of 23 to 26 year olds that are very tight and and many is one of those. It's been really a sheltered by the Anthony Davis. And they're all coming to the prime of their career. So they've all had great pre-sales and running to go. Well, I tell you, don't worry about Ali, because if Goss gets his way, I'll be playing res. He'll be playing 11, 40 every week. So don't worry about him. But there's a lot of faith in here in the marketplace because you've got South Romano favorites for the for the pre-sales, the pre-sales, the $3.25. I think the grand finalist last year and the next perth who have recruited well there at $4 perth who have recruited heavily or $9 per clamon sits second on the market at $350. So there's a lot of faith in you and a bit of expectation. There you go. Yeah, there's always a bit of expectation. So I think for the last 10 or so years when I've been at clamon.
