The video presents several chilling true stories shared by users from Reddit, highlighting real-life encounters with danger, mental illness, and paranoia. One story involves a woman living with two brothers who were deeply superstitious and mentally unstable; one brother, Adam, murdered his roommate in a violent, premeditated act, believing the victims were possessed, and was later sentenced to life in prison with no parole. Another incident follows a girl who lived with a friend who had deteriorating mental health and eventually committed a violent crime after a psychotic episode, destroying a building and setting a fire while attacking a neighbor. A third story details a woman whose basement was repeatedly broken into by a man with criminal charges, who reportedly hidden items and made multiple return visits despite police inaction. A group of college friends experienced intense fear at an Airbnb, where they heard noises, movements, and claimed to see someone in the shed, leading to a panicked exit. Finally, a woman recounts a terrifying encounter with a stranger at an airport who displayed sudden hostility and a predatory gaze, triggering a visceral fear response. These stories collectively emphasize how mental instability, poor situational awareness, and unaddressed threats can lead to life-altering trauma, underscoring the importance of vigilance, safety measures, and trust in one’s instincts. The narrator urges viewers to take personal safety seriously and to recognize warning signs in people and environments.

that's enough yap being so sit back relax grab a drink grab a snack and without further ado let's get into some scary true stories from reddit I was on someone's kill list after high school many years ago I was in a bad place my guardian had kicked me out after graduation she didn't help me find a place to stay so I lived in my car for a couple of months I met some heavy metal dudes at work one day I had seen them around town and all of my other friends knew who they were everyone loved them we became friends over a couple of months and they offered for me to move in with them I agreed looking back now I wish I had just stayed in my car my two main roommates were brothers named Andrew and Zeth they were in a band they also believed in the occult and anything of that sort I never really believed in that stuff but I'm not wanting to tell someone what they should believe they had let me live with them rent free for several months so who was I to complain being the only female in a house full of young men I was always looking over my shoulder you never know who you can trust turns out I was right to worry over time their friends started to stay with us for longer periods of time sometimes weeks their friends were another group of brothers that they had gone to school with there were five brothers in total but only two stayed with us consistently the younger brother Mark was very polite he cleaned up after himself and always helped with the household chores the older brother Adam had a laundry list of mental problems he had apparently done some bad drugs back in the day and it had developed into what seemed like psychosis of the religious sort he had done time in prison for hitting a woman with a bible he would often look you in the eyes and tell you he could see how you would die once he told me that I was possessed by a demon and I needed my soul cleansed everyone in the house knew he had these problems but he was their friend they helped him through their hard times and gave him a place to stay otherwise he would be on the streets I was always on guard around him after the things he told me no one else seemed to be as concerned as I was they should have been one day I was sleeping in my phone rang it was my boss he asked if I could come into work an hour early it was only 12 pm I was broken had nothing better to do so I said yes I got up and began getting ready to leave I walked out into the living room to see Mark and Andrew sitting on the couch while Adam sat on the floor by the TV he was watching scripture videos on youtube some real end of day stuff that was fairly common so I went about my business I said goodbye and left for work my shift at work was almost complete when the phone rang my boss answered handed the phone to me and said for you I was just a cashier so I assumed as a friend that couldn't reach me on the phone I answered the phone and heard a man's voice that I didn't recognize hi this is Detective Williams something happened to your apartment today and we need you to come to the station to talk about it I left work immediately I had assumed one of the brothers had been arrested for drug dealing or something I was very wrong I got to the station and was buzzed in an officer escorted me to a small cold room with a camera he gave me a bottle of water and left me by myself for about 30 minutes my mind was racing thinking about what could have happened he came back in and informed me that Adam had stabbed and killed Andrew at around 1 pm I was shocked I had just left the house an hour before it happened and everything seemed fine I asked if there had been a fight the detective informed me that there had been a fight and it seemed to have happened out of nowhere I gave my statement to the police and left with nowhere to go still in shock and confused out of my mind our apartment was a crime scene so I went to another friend's house to watch the news report since the police wouldn't give me any information on the case over the next couple of days the information began to release Adam hadn't just stabbed Andrew once not twice but he had stabbed him over and over and nearly to capitated him after the murder he ran down the road still holding the murder weapon he called 911 and informed them what he had done I watched the news report in horror we had known he was unstable but this he had fully confessed to the brutal murder and provided police with his notebooks he had apparently been planning to murder all of his brothers my roommates and me he thought we were possessed by demons and this was the only way to free us luckily none of his other intended victims were there that day mark unfortunately witnessed the murder but he luckily escaped if I hadn't gotten that call from my boss I wouldn't be alive today so to the man who brutally murdered my friend and wanted to murder me let's never meet again and then the OP adds a comment in the comment section saying thanks to everyone for their well wishes I am doing great now this happened years ago and it has taken me a long time to come to terms with what happened I have messaged the mods with links to several news articles in regards to my post I also have photos to provide them as well if requested I'd rather not post a link publicly as they contain the names of the victim and family members if the mods require a link to be posted so be it I understand it's hard to believe trust me I'm the one it happened to when I can't even believe it myself sometimes once again thank you for the well wishes and then one other commenter says I'm glad you weren't there when it happened and sorry for your friend must have been really hard to witness this do you know what happened to him afterwards did the police put him in prison or a psych ward and the OP responds and says he took a plea for life with no parole to avoid the death penalty and before we move on to the next story I want to quickly let you guys know about so anyways that's it um i just want to say thank you so much if you join and anyways back to the video my dad's roommate this happened around three years ago when i was about 14 years old my parents had been separated for a long time and i used to live with my mom during the week in my dad on the weekends my dad always made significantly less money than my mom he lived alone in a house that was honestly too big for one person and he struggled a lot with pain rent then one day one of his friends asked if he could move in his friend john needed a place to stay and my dad needed money so john offered to pay every weekend exchange for one of the spare rooms my dad agreed obviously and john moved in with us since i only stayed there on weekends i didn't see john that much but whenever i did i always felt uncomfortable around him he wasn't really scary or aggressive or anything honestly he was usually nice but there was just something off about him that i couldn't explain i don't mean this in a rude way toward people with mental illnesses but even back then i could tell something about him was not right mentally at some point he had taken one of the drawers in our bathroom and one day i looked inside it and found tons of pills like a worrying amount i had no idea what they were for and i still don't but it freaked me out a little my dad also always had kind of questionable friends so i already didn't love the idea of living with one of them i was probably way too paranoid and way too obsessed with horror stuff at the time but i even remember hiding a kitchen knife under my mattress in case he ever came into my room all my dad wasn't home at the time it felt more like a comical and ridiculous gesture than a real self-defense weapon since john had never given me any real reason to be afraid of him but for some reason that knife assured me even my dad didn't really like leaving me alone with him not because john had ever done anything weird to me but my dad used to say he was a little weird still he needed the money and john was his friend after all so he stayed with us for around two months the first month was normal nothing bad happened john paid his part of the rent and sometimes even bought groceries for us eventually i got used to him being there but during the second month things started getting weird i didn't know it at the time but john had stopped taking his medication my dad and i have a cat and john started making disturbing comments about it he'd say weird things about how my dad acted around the cat implying disgusting stuff that wasn't true at all at first it just sounded bizarre more than dangerous like i said he had always been kind of odd but over time the comments got more intense and more detached from reality eventually my dad started making sure john was either out of the house or in his room whenever i came over then one day i got to my dad's house and noticed john wasn't there like usual i asked where he was that's when my dad told me he wasn't living with us anymore then he explained what happened apparently john had been acting seriously unstable for the last few weeks my dad told me about things john had been saying and doing when i wasn't there things he never told me not to alarm me and about how a few days before i visited they got into a huge argument during it john suddenly accused my dad of essaying our cat which obviously never happened my dad told him to get out but instead john completely lost it he started yelling about how my dad had apparently abused me too how he knew what was going on in a bunch of other insane stuff the argument kept getting louder and more aggressive and to let it eventually turn physical i'm gonna skip some details but my dad finally managed to force him outside and called the police when he refused to leave when the cop showed up and saw the state he was in they arrested him and took him away after that we never really heard from john again but for weeks after it happened i was terrified every time i went to my dad's house i kept imagining john showing up while i was home alone angry at my dad completely unstable every weird noise in the house freaked me out but he never came back eventually life moved on and we kind of stopped thinking about it his mom came one day to collect his stuff and after that he completely disappeared from our lives until around three months later one night my dad sent me a news article john was on the front page and the content made my stomach drop like i said before john had stopped taking his medication and apparently three months after getting kicked out of our house he ended up going into some kind of psychotic episode according to the article he walked into an apartment building carrying a hammer he smashed windows destroyed parts of the building and eventually set it on fire a woman trapped inside her apartment died in the flames and he violently attacked another person in the building with the hammer before police finally arrested him the creepiest part was that nobody in the building even knew him he had absolutely no connection to any of the victims they were complete strangers i'm pretty sure he's locked up now but even years later my dad and i still think about it sometimes what would have happened if he had stayed with us it's crazy to think we lived with a man accused of first degree murder months before he snapped and then the op makes an edit to the post saying it's been 50 days since i made the original post and i finally have an update on his sentence for those who only wanted to know the outcome he was sentenced to life in prison with the possibility of parole after 10 years for anyone interested in what actually happened in detail here's a summary of a news article that was published just a few days ago also i was wrong when i said he had no connection to the victim as it was later on reported that they were indeed neighbors and friends here's what i learned about the whole tragedy according to the article john had developed an unhealthy obsession with blank after catching romantic feelings for her she repeatedly tried to stop their friendship but he refused to let it go he would knock on her windows and constantly try to contact her she eventually can find it in family and friends that she no longer knew how to get him to leave her alone and was becoming genuinely afraid of him in the days leaned up to the attack his mental state rapidly deteriorated fueled by heavy crystal use he became convinced that he was being followed hacked and threatened he also believed that a escort ring was operating inside the apartment building and that somehow the friend was somehow involved these delusions eventually escalated into a severe psychotic episode on the morning of august 14th 2023 after violently destroying his own apartment he forces way into the apartment she managed to lock herself inside the bathroom while calling 911 the recorded emergency call captured the terror she experienced as investigators could hear him smashing the apartment while screaming i'm going to kill her i've got her he then deliberately set a fire outside the bathroom fully aware that she was trapped inside by the time police arrived the flames had become too intense for them to enter still on the phone of the emergency dispatch she tearfully begged them to tell first responders to break down the door because the fire had reached the bathroom and she knew she wasn't going to survive moments later the dispatcher heard only a faint moon before the light.
line went silent. During the investigation, John admitted that he had developed romantic feelings for the girl, and intentionally started the fire, knowing she was inside. He also pled guilty to hurting another female neighbor with a hammer during the same incident. The court accepted a joint recommendation from the prosecution and defense, sentencing him to life in prison with no eligibility for parole for ten years, calculated from the date of his arrest on August 25, 2023. A stranger has been breaking into my basement for months, and my roommates and I are just going to let him. This has been a wild ride, but I am happy to say that as far as I know, he is apparently a sneaky fella, so take this with a grain of salt. This guy hasn't come back for around eight months, so I think I am in the clear. Here's the story. So about two years ago, my 20 female and my close friend, 20 female, moved into a rental house in a mostly safe city. House is nice, rent is expensive, landlords forget we exist. Perfect. A few months later, a super sweet family, mom, dad who's a police officer the next city over, and two young kiddos move in. This is relevant. The house that we live in, I still live here, has a partially finished basement, mostly underground, outside access only, with a couple of windows. I say partially finished because the owner told me that a tree fell on the house several years ago, and the foundation was built around it, so there's just kind of a big gaping hole in the back of the basement. Basically a huge crawl space. The basement is really creepy, has graffiti, all kinds of random holes in the walls. We never put anything in there besides a few little Christmas decorations and an old recliner I need to get rid of, and because of that, never felt the need to lock it. In the basement is our hot water heater, and a random empty one. Not attached to anything that the landlord said it's just been there. Another note. The yard is fenced in, and I have a dog who goes between outside and in, through a doggy door while we are at work all day. He's a mini Aussie, is a threat to no one, and trusts absolutely everyone. He will bark at first, but if you don't hurt him, and say a few nice words he would hand you the keys to my house, car, and save you deposit box if he could. In the yard, there is an empty chicken coop left from the owners before the current owners, so not my landlord, but the guy before him. His chicken coop. Most of these things are relevant, I promise. So one day, a few months into living at this house, I'm getting out of my car after work. And neighbor guy, the cop, comes up to me. He tells me that a man in a red truck pulls into the driveway and sort of tries to get in the backyard. Obviously, my neighbor knows that, is not myself, my roommate, or my boyfriend. So he asks him what he's doing. He tells my neighbor that he wants to look at the serial number on the hot water heater in my basement. My neighbors tell him to go away and come back when one of us are home because he is a nice neighbor and doesn't know who this dude is trying to get into my yard. Now my landlord drives a red truck, so at this point I'm thinking it was him and he just forgot to let me know he was coming. So I sent him a message, it was not him. I have some back and forth with landlord neighbor and we determined that the man was the owner of the house before my landlord. Let's call him Jim. Once we figured this out, landlord tells me he'll get a hold of Jim, figure out what he needs and why he was at the house, and we will go from there. My landlord cannot get a hold of Jim, he does not come back. That is that for several days, until I'm at work on day, in my car, on my lunch, and my doorbell camera goes off. I open it, say hello, and there are two detectives from a different state knocking on my door. Who are they looking for? Jim. Why are they looking for him? Oh, only because he has warrants for stolen guns and other illicit substances. In my house was an address they had on file. I quickly filled them in on what had happened, and they immediately were suspicious that he had hidden something in the basement and was trying to sneak back to get it. I traded numbers with the officers, and they told me to put a lock on the basement door, because who knows how long he'd been crawling around in there before my neighbor caught him. Fence is short, and we don't go into the basement a lot. There's big, big, big, big, and I mean big, spiders in there. In the time it takes for the detectives to organize local officers to come search the basement, Jim makes two more appearances. The first is on my camera. He rings the doorbell and bangs on my door. The camera is almost dead and doesn't alert me until later, and the images are grainy and discolored, but you can see his face and the red truck in the background. The second is to my landlord. Jim supposedly tells my landlord that he was trying to get the chicken coop out of the backyard, which is not at all what he told my neighbor. Shortly after, I come home one day, the basement door is now locked, and the door to the chicken coop has been opened and rifled through. Now I know my little Aussie ain't doing that. Nonetheless, detectives come and search the whole yard in basement area, including the crawl space, and find nothing. Sign all the documents, made a couple friends in a few counties, La Dida. Landlord comes to take the chicken coop. We think since there's nothing in there, all is well. Well, I live in tornado alley, so we get some nasty weather. One morning my roommate and I are out with the dog after a storm. Not a big one for the area, but decent wind for sure. And we walk around the side of the house. My roommate looks at the house, then looks at me and says, "Has that window always been busted in?" It has not. Jim strikes again. I unlocked the door and went inside, smart, furious that Jim had the audacity to come back months later. All of our things have been rifled through and moved. Recline our shifted, tubs opened and decorations thrown about, and that damn empty hot water heater was moved around also. Myself, my family, my work bestie, boyfriend, and detectives all had dug through the basement at this point, because we thought we'd find something, but I guess this guy can hide his stuff pretty well. So after realizing that the basement was obviously gone through, I called the local cops. Out of state detectives, it can't help unless local cops are involved. So we've been taught. So my friends in another county are not aware of this. Cop shows up, tells me busted window was the wind from the storm, puts it back up and leaves. Nor is my stuff thrown around and the fact that my basement has been broken into before. We got hit by a tornado a few months later, tree fell on to the yard, windows were fine, but yeah, you're right, the wind broke into my basement. Anyway, after that last excursion, my roommate and I kind of came to a few realizations, eh? He can't get into the house unless he squirms through the tiny doggy door, and at that point, I would just be impressed by his effort. He doesn't really seem interested in the main house. Just the stuff he needed to come back to is that he had to hide. B, the local cops aren't helping, so there's no need to cause a tizzy. C, he probably got what he needed out of the basement the last time anyway, so ideally, he will find another place to stash his stuff. D, we don't have anything valuable in the basement. If Jim wants my Nana's old Christmas ornaments, he can have them. E, he hasn't let the dog out yet, so clearly either my dog likes him and won't leave him alone. Or he's jumping the fence and enduring my Aussies endless barking and nipping and trying to hurt him to his favorite patch of yard. Either way, Jim is not winning here. So pretty much, this guy has been breaking into our basement, and the last time we tried to get help, it was a waste of time. So, Jim, please stop stashing your scary bits and bobs in my basement. I'm just a girl. But obviously, you don't want to hurt us, so just don't go in the house and don't take my dog.
You'd bring him back real quick anyways. And now let's get into some of the top comments. One person says, "He doesn't want to hurt you, yet. You are obviously dealing with an unbalanced person. What happens if he decides you must be hiding whatever he's looking for?" And someone responds and says, "Yeah, this for sure. Homie has gun charges pending, not something to play with. No neighbor cop man to keep an eye out for anything at all. Install better cameras and change the locks." And someone else says, "I bet guns were in the water heater." And another user says, "Literally, how people get murdered." And finally, the OP adds some extra info and says, "Okay, a couple of things. Number one, I cannot put up cameras in the back of a house. A landlord is very strict about putting things up. I was only able to have a doorbell camera because I put it in an existing screw hole. I also cannot get another dog." A part of me thinks that the landlord is complacent to him based on some of the text messages he has sent to me and how dismissive he is to the fact that a man is breaking in. He came and picked up the chicken coop for this guy at one point. The neighbor has cameras pointing at the house though and they have not caught anything for over eight months. 2. I am so chill about this because this has been happening over a period of a year and a half. I am very desensitized and coped through bad jokes as many young college kids do. I, along with the detectives in the other county, do not think he is coming back after cops were digging around in there for months. Neighbor said he is not a very smart guy though, so we will see. 3. City police do not care. Neighbor cop told me they left because they don't want to take the time to file any reports for us. I also work all day in a different city and go to school and don't have the time to go make a report for something that happened eight months ago. I think they would laugh in my face. 4. Trust me. We searched everywhere after the first breaking attempt LOL. We broke up in the old heater, sent people in the cross space, dug up into the basement roof, everything. The heater was completely hollow, but that was my bet also. Would it be surprised if he was moving his things around in there? The only thing I can think of is a really good hiding spot in the cross space. It is huge, probably 20 by 20 feet and you are right, probably not up to code but I could care less. Or maybe in one of the many random holes that are very curvy and go several feet into the walls and floor that we were not prepared to search or stick our hands into. I promise I am not an idiot, our house is well secured and I live with my boyfriend now. He is 65 and much more intimidating than I am. The police officers in the other county said that we are safe. He does not have any violent charges, just the stolen weapons and drug charges. I know that does not mean he won't try though. Next time if something happens, I will just call other county guy in my neighbor instead of city police. I definitely learned my lesson there. Took the guy with our city almost 15 minutes to arrive and when he left after doing actually nothing, he wouldn't shut up about how we found a urinal in a abandoned house down the street one time. Also yes, my doggy is adorable. If I knew how to put pictures, I would. He is a mini Aussie and he is super silly and so cute. The reason I sighed halfway through this is because the OP is just putting themselves into such a dangerous situation. This guy is not afraid to break into the house obviously and the OP is like I am desensitized. Before you worried about some guy breaking into your house, going through all of your stuff and stealing God knows what, he knows how to get in pretty decently and also like the, I don't know. And it's just like the OP doesn't even just take the time. Of course, it's a pain in the ass to have to go to the police station and make a report. But it's better than nothing. I mean, this guy could be dangerous. The police are after him. Like literally they're after him for gun charges and drug charges. This guy is probably not a great guy if I had to guess. You know, so who knows if like he also has something stashed in the house that he has to come back for in a few months because oh, he needs it for whatever reason or something of valuables in there or maybe he is low on money and he wants to go rummage through your stuff and try to find valuables that you have. Like it is just like, like I really hope the OP put some, just any sort of basic safety measures. This guy can't get in. And also I laughed at when the OP says I live with my boyfriend now. Like in all reality, no matter how tall, how strong or whatever, a crazy person that's armed, they don't really care. You got to stay safe, secure your house as best as you can. And if you're comfortable, stay armed because you know, crazy people will do crazy things and criminals will do dangerous things and I just hope that the OP was smart and is safe now. Uneasy Stay in LA Airbnb. I read a lot of these and thank you all for sharing your stories. I thought maybe I should share one I have. This was back in June 2019, I at 19 FEMA at the time went to visit my best friend. He will call her Kelly at her college. A few of our hometown friends tagged along and we stayed at her apartment for a day until our bigger trip down to LA. Us and her college friends rented a minivan and drove six hours down to West Hollywood. There were seven total of us girls and it was all going really well. Going to Malibu Beach, breakfast at a hotel, hiking to the Hollywood sign. Our first two nights were joyful as well as our last until late in the night. Before I go on, I would like to give some description to the Airbnb. It was in a sketchy area. There was a shed we weren't supposed to go in in the backyard among overgrown plants. There was a high chain link fencing surrounding the property and he had to enter a padlock code at the driveway to get the key. There was a glass window front porch and that's where we'd hang out and smoke. The back porch was similar but more beaten down. We kept both doors locked at all times and the driveway gave it as well. It was on in the OP post, the avenues on I'm not going to dox that and the OP says I have the exact address but I won't release that now. For last night, Saturday, we were hanging out on the front porch. What was so weird and a foreshadow we didn't see is that wall on the porch, we heard the padlock and chain jingling around down at the gate. There was all brush so we couldn't see. But I remember we all retreated inside for a little bit until we worked up the courage to go back out and finish the weed. A bunch of us went to bed early, figuring we had to be up early to drive back to the school. Some of them still needed a study for finals. I remember smoking and then heading to bed around 11.30pm. My other friend, Wilkall or Gabby, was the last to go to bed around 1.30am. Except for Kelly, she stayed awake talking to her crush on FaceTime. I was sleeping for a while until I was woken up by one of the girls in a frantic state. She was pleading with me to come out to the living room that they think there was something in the house. I was honestly pissed at first that they couldn't figure it out themselves and that they woke me up. I didn't know yet the desperation of the situation. I walked out into the living room and everyone was there except one other who was sleeping. From the living room, you can't see the kitchen and that's also where the bathroom is. I sat on the couch and they all simultaneously were trying to tell me what was going on in whispers. Again, I was annoyed. So I said, "If you really think there's something going on, why don't you call the cops?" And then all of them told me "Dush." And I shut up. It was for five seconds that I was quiet and I heard movement in the kitchen. Almost like putting something in the sink or moving cups around. My heart dropped and I jumped off that couch so fast in a manner I will never forget. I gathered all of the girls into one bedroom. Went to wake up the last. She was so annoyed at me waking her up, I had to be a bit mean to get her the F up. And we took her safely to the other bedroom. We put a chair under the door, me and another girl stood by it, just listening and guarding. At this point were a mix of fear pacing, crying, not being able to breathe and going nonverbal. I was trembling. Kelly was on the phone with the cops. me and the other doors.
were talking about what would happen. She said Kelly was still on FaceTime and started hearing things going on in the bathroom, like drawers opening and our cosmetics being moved around. This was around 3am. Kelly didn't remember me going to bed and thought it was me so she called out my name twice. This woke Gabby up and Gabby came out asking what was going on. This caused the other girls to come out and check it out. I remember one of the girls told me she heard spoons rattling and her voice was shaking. They thought it could be an animal so they went by the open kitchen doorway and banged the water bottle against the frame and yelled to scare it off. But obviously that did nothing. That's when they came and woke me. At this point the cops are taking long of course and all girls are feeling different wild emotions. There was a huge window in the bedroom and I just remembered feeling so terrified that they would climb in through there. The other door guard looked at me and whispered "Wait, put your ear and listen." I heard footsteps. I wanted to scream, cry, throw up. I whispered that we weren't going to share this at that particular moment. The cops come but they are not allowed to enter without us letting them in. This causes another huge problem and Kelly is fighting with the dispatcher on the phone. I'm asking if they could just come to the window that we don't want to go out there. Eventually the other door guard gains the courage and goes out to let the cops in. Welp. I have had many experiences with cops. I live on a bad block and this one I will remember. They were two females. You'd think they would understand our fear. Not in the slightest. They said they searched the home and saw nothing. They didn't ask questions. They weren't curious. They just wanted to leave. They kept glancing to the weed on the table. As if inferring it was all because we were high. Mind you some of us weren't smokers and those of us who were. It was at 11 p.m. weed has not affected me nor anyone I know like this before. We asked them if they searched the backyard that there was a rundown shed back there and they were hesitant to do that for us. Y'all didn't search that in the first place. They leave and Kelly looks at us and goes. I don't know about y'all but there is no way I'm sleeping here tonight and I want to leave right now and we all immediately agreed. It was probably around 4 a.m. at this point. We pack up our stuff and leave for a 6 hour drive back to the college. During the drive, the sun rises, I text my parents and Kelly is messaging the Airbnb host. When the host woke up she was never helpful and I honestly don't know much development on that. We were in California for two more days. I remember Gabby and I just hung out at the beach while the girls studied and took their finals but it all felt so weird. It was the only thing we could think about. Talk about. At one point, Kelly broke down crying because she was holding her strength for so long trying to be the dominant one. It was so sad to watch and we all just group hugged her. It didn't feel real and our brains were just trying to come up with an explanation, trying to piece it all together and make sense of it. On the long ride back to the college, one of the girls was saying maybe it was something supernatural. That seems like such a far reach regardless of how big a fan of ghosts I am. The most sensible explanation is that a homeless person broke in and enjoyed going through girls' belongings. Our noises and yells didn't scare them off because they were probably high. So often I think, what if we just went into the kitchen? But if there was someone there, what would we have done? And then what if it was nothing? Just empty space. This event took up my life for a while. I was so strict on all of the windows and doors being locked at night back at home, checking three times. I was pleading with my dad to get a new updated alarm system. I put a bat under my bed. Honestly, all of the stuff we sadly should already be doing. But that fear, the inability to fall asleep for months, I don't want that ever again. Thank you for reading. I don't know who or what was in that house. But this experience caused me to buy and always bring my portable door lock to Airbnb's with me. And now let's get into some of the top comments one person says, whatever was in that shed came inside. You were good to leave when you did. And another user says, they probably were illegally renting out that shed to a sketchy person who found out slash was allowed to sneak in at their whim. Glad you left on your guts instinct. And I agree. In my opinion, that seems like the most probable theory, the Airbnb host was just renting that out or even living in that shed. And they probably have a key to the main house and just let themselves in and started looking for something or rummaging around for something. And when the cops came, they just left through the back door or the backyard and went into the shed and locked it. I mean, that seems like the most probable theory. I don't know if this guy meant any harm, but it is terrifying nonetheless. Colt member encounter at college campus. I was on a college campus walking to the dining hall, where I was stopped by this group of people, a girl and two guys. And then they said they have this church off campus and were looking for people to join. I didn't think much of it. And I actually did want to get involved in the church for some personal reasons. I thought it would be good for my mental health to have a community because of some recent events that happened that made me feel very isolated. I guess in hindsight, isolated people was exactly what they were looking for. So we chatted and stuff and she was asking very leading questions like, what do you like to do for fun? And then more serious stuff like, do you believe in God? I thought this was great to even talk to someone because I was in this terrible headspace for the past few months where I wasn't seeing any people outside of my classes and had undergone a massive personal devastation regarding a career path I really wanted to have. Anyway, let's call this girl Kate for now. Kate said that she's looking for people just like me to join. And there are other people around my age at this church. And they have lots of fun events and stuff. So I took her contact info and left. Later, Kate started texting me details about the church's location. I looked it up on Google Maps and it seemed pretty legitimate and nice. So here's the part where you might get mad at me. So I didn't have a car at the time, but I still wanted to go to one of their events which was a volunteer car wash where they provide the volunteers with free food and drink. And I wanted to go. I just wanted some friends. And Kate mentioned that she has a church van that they can use to move people around and get them there. And I thought that was great. So flash forward, I'm in the van with her and another girl also my age. And Kate's driving. And the van was actually very sketchy looking. It was large, brown, and had curtains and three rows of seats. We get to the church and I'm immediately greeted by these people who look very happy. They are also around my age and mainly Asian, which was very weird considering where I went to college at the time. The town was mainly white people. So they offer me food and free drinks to have. And I think that's awesome. But they keep staring at me in this weird way. So flash forward to the volunteering. I had been socializing with people and chatting and washing cars. There were probably 10 to 15 people. They're all early 20s. In only one person above 20 who was the pastor. Kate asked the typical questions like, where would you travel to if he had unlimited money? And I said, Japan, she said she would travel to South Korea. And she has already been to North Korea doing missionary work. I was like, hold the phone. Who are these people? And why can they go to North Korea? Anyway, later on, I'm getting ready to leave and Kate says she wants to show me one more thing. And it's the prayer room. She says, I need to take off my shoes and go inside. And I see these two portraits of an Asian woman dressed in this traditional outfit. This doesn't look like the church of Jesus Christ. After this, Kate tells me the types of stuff they do in church, which are these union ceremonies. Basically, everyone gathers in a stadium-sized space and gets assigned to marry someone. And they all get married at once while wearing white clothing. Anyway, I ended up leaving at that point in the same van.
Not thinking much of any of this. Later on, I got really curious exactly what denomination the church is and who was affiliated with, because I saw no crosses or no signs of Jesus. And I look at their website and it mentions they are the Family Federation for Peace and Unification Church, aka the Moonies, which is a famous Korean cult that also apparently has bases in the middle of nowhere. Apparently, the cult also led to the death of some public official. I would not like to meet these people again. I think someone was just in my house. I don't know what to do. I'm honestly still terrified, but hoping I just imagined it. I, 18 female, live at home with my two parents and my daughter, two female. I'm on winter break from college and have been picking up more shifts since my mom is off work and willing to watch her so I have extra money. This is all important because for the past two or three days, I have not been able to go to sleep until two to one in the morning because my daughter is awake and won't wake up until 9am to get ready for an eight hour shift. It's currently 1042. I have already texted my boyfriend and don't want to wake up my parents over nothing. I was on my phone watching TikTok with my child in front of me playing with one of her Christmas gifts. Suddenly, I hear the backdoor slam shut and what sounds like running water. I get up and sure enough, the back door is unlocked with the outside door wide open. In the kitchen sink running, our house has a basement, so the stairs are in a small room by the kitchen, so it's essentially two back doors. I was the last person in the kitchen beforehand. The water was off. I let the dogs in so the both doors were shut because the cool air can go through the glass door. We have cats, but none were in the kitchen. And while the living room, room I am in now is attached to the kitchen. There is about a three foot tall piece of wood acting as a gate so my daughter can't get into things like the pet food, the water bowl, trash, litter box, stove, etc. So it could not have been there. I locked all the doors and all of the windows on the first and the second floor. While upstairs, we only have two windows that can be unlocked. And when double checking, I saw a figure moving in the alley behind our garage. Our garage has a motion activated lights that went off as soon as I stepped into the kitchen. Meeting that, if someone was inside, they would have triggered it. I'm terrified. I don't want to wake my dad up in case no one is there, and I sound crazy. I'm hoping I imagined it or that it's just a bunch of coincidences. For instance, the motion lights go off at every cat, rabbit, or even the neighbor's dog. But I had to turn off the sink in the door I shut was open. We have all thought someone was frogging. Don't know if I spelt it right. Because certain windows will be open that have no reason to be. Doors will be unlocked or random things will appear like men's pants that were slightly bigger than my size. They weren't mine. In far too small to move my dad's because I could fit into them. I'm fine for. And my dad is over six foot tall. I'm lost at what to do. So whoever came into my house and turned on the faucet out of all things. Let's not meet. The next time this happens, I'm just gonna wake up my dad and tell him I think there's an intruder. But I'm just hoping you guys can tell me things to help me believe it's made up. Update. First of all, apologies if this is the wrong way to update. Or if the story does not make much sense. Not only was I terrified, but this was my first post. To acknowledge some messages I got first. Number one, the house is very old. Very old. Built in the 1860s. So groans are common. But this was not a groan. Number two, the door that slammed was a hard metal door. So there was a noticeable difference between this door and any other door in our house as they are all wooden. Number three, yes, the TV was on. But similar to the last point, it's a distinctive noise. We were also watching in Conto. And that point is on the first song. My parents' room is relatively close to where it was, but the TV was off. Now to address the comments, yes, I do know I should have instantly woken up my parents or called the cops, but I was so paranoid at first that I completely felt like it would have done nothing as they would have been gone very quickly. To leave our backyard from the doors, probably about 10 steps. And they could have disappeared in the alley. Foot traffic is common as I live in a small town with a decently high drug presence. So people will walk through the alleys to avoid cops since they rarely drive down them. One person asked about the frog in, so I figured I could go into further detail. We constantly hear what sounds like footsteps when home alone. And even though we have two cats and three dogs, they cannot go upstairs because of the baby gate that is set up. During the summer, someone also kept messing with the basement door and opening it. The door wasn't a simple knob. It was a weird half door with a broken lock. So you had to literally push the wall away from the door while also pushing the door to get it open. You had to shut it essentially the same way because my dad was remodeling it. He made sure to shut it every time so none of the dogs accidentally stepped on a nail. About twice a week, my dad would come home to it open. So we built a new door with a lock. Only he has the key and changed the back door lock which he again is the only one with the key. There was also one day my mom asked me if I had it snug out because my dad came home and saw one of the window screens missing and out on the roof. He investigated and found that not only was the window unlocked, but also had white dust which showed hands coming in. To make it worse, it was in my daughter's room. So he immediately put the screen back in and nailed the window shut. I think so at least. I just know it cannot be opened. Now on to the actual update. About three minutes after the post and probably eight minutes after the actual event, I realized I was being stupid. If it was just me, I wouldn't have cared. But my daughter changed my life around and I would do anything to protect her. As I was filling her milk up, preparing to wake up my dad and be screamed at. I heard faint tapping outside the house on the glass door. I paused before hearing a loud bang on it. I did what anyone would have done and threw my kids cup on the ground, ran and tripped on the gate. Added it for the people that thought I was a bad mom for not just immediately getting someone kind of my own karma. Grabbed my daughter and ran into my parents' room and yelled, "There's someone outside." My dad woke up and grabbed his gun and checked the outside of the house while my mom called the police. They did a small check and said they didn't have any proof someone was there. But I don't think I was crazy. I know I heard it. They've been gone for about an hour, but I'm now just updating because my daughter is asleep. She's in my room. I don't have a lock on my door, but I did push a desk in front of it to keep it shut. I don't have to worry about my window because it faces the front of the house where nothing is underneath it. The window is also broken and will not open from the bottom. Thank you to everyone who commented, even if it was just calling me a dumbass for being scared. I don't see any more updates, but if something else that's weird happens, I probably will. Even if it's just a small occurrence. Also, if someone could maybe message me and tell me how to properly update it if I did it wrong, I would appreciate it. Have a better night than me, everyone. And then the OP comes back with another update, reading, "Hello, everyone. Today was the day of the funeral. And because of the instance of how the person died, the family was still unable to get the body as it's in a murder trial. Because of this, we paid our respects to his parents and left. While leaving, I saw a person resembling my ex from behind, so I just quickly drove away. So I apologize if that's not the dramatic update you hoped for. One of you guys sent me a link to buy cameras and those will arrive next Thursday. The morning after the incident though, I read told my mom what happened and she looked at me horrified. We tried slamming the back door and couldn't get it to match perfectly. We tried our heavy wooden gates and inside. It sounded almost exactly like it, meaning someone was still in our backyard at the least. She also said she noticed the basement had its light on. The door remains locked, but there is a small hole in our bathroom floor you can use to see it. It is off now and can only be turned on if actually in the basement. So if it comes back on, I will look at the cameras and double check, along with just checking at its notifications. I see this being the last update, unless something dramatic happens. Edit. For those confused on the funeral, one of the comments mentioned it could be my baby daddy messing with me as it's the same house I live in now as I did when we were together. I said he had moved away, but there was a funeral in town of one of our
mutual friends, and there was a possibility he could be there. And I would update on that as well. Although the OP never comes back with another update, and so hopefully, they're doing alright. Something was very wrong with the man outside the airport. I know trust your gut gets repeated constantly online. But about 6 months ago at Dolas Airport, my body reacted to a stranger with such intense fear that I still think about it regularly. About 6 months ago, my husband 29 male and I 24 male flew from the west coast back to the east coast on a red eye. We landed that Dolas early in the morning, exhausted and kind of delirious in that weird post overnight flightway. If you know Dolas Airport, you know the pickup situation can be chaotic. Arrivals get backed up constantly, so instead of waiting downstairs, we took our luggage upstairs to departures because pickups there are usually way faster. It was cold outside, but after hours and airports and on a plane, the fresh air honestly felt nice. We leaned against those concrete barriers outside the terminal, while my husband called his mom, who was driving from Potomac to pick us up. Traffic was bad, so we were just standing around waiting. That's when a man came over. At first, there was absolutely nothing strange about him. He looked like a completely normal late 20s or early 30s tech guy. Even clothes, fleece vest, airpods in, well dressed, maybe slightly dirty nails, honestly the type of person he wouldn't look at twice. He told my husband he liked his jacket, my husband thanked him, then he complimented mine as well. I awkwardly said something like, "Thanks man, you too." Even though his outfit was pretty generic. He smiled and sarcastically replied, "I'm sure you do." It was subtle, but something about the tone felt slightly off. Still, none of it seemed alarming. We made small talk. He asked where we were headed and we said we were staying with family nearby. He started talking about family too, except every comment he made had this bitter, self-depreciating edge to it. At one point, he said something along the lines of, "Friends and family not matter anyway." We tried being nice about it. Just casual conversation with a stranger while waiting for a ride. Then something changed. I cannot explain this properly without sounding insane. But the atmosphere shifted so suddenly that I physically felt it. I got chills all over my body. Not anxiety, not nervousness, actual primal fear. The guy's expression changed completely. He was still talking normally, but the way he was looking at us suddenly felt deeply wrong. The only way I can describe it is that he looked at us like he wanted to hurt us. There was this intense anger behind his eyes that absolutely had not been there before. I remember noticing he had no luggage at all. Just a backpack. Which struck me as odd because he'd mentioned getting off a long flight. And somewhere in the conversation, he casually said, "I don't have a home." Again, none of this sounds terrifying, written out. But standing there in the moment, every instinct in my body was screaming at me that something was wrong with this person. My husband usually gets absorbed in conversations and doesn't pick up on weird vibes immediately. But I knew I needed to get away from this guy without escalating anything. So instead of abruptly saying we were leaving, I quietly walked back inside the airport and down the ramp toward arrivals, leaving my husband outside talking to him. I made up an excuse that I had to go to the bathroom and he just said, "Oh, the bathroom, huh?" That sounds terrible, but I genuinely thought if I acted alarmed or made it obvious I was scared, something bad would happen. Once I got downstairs, I called my husband and told him, as calmly as I could. You need to come inside right now. Something is seriously wrong with that guy. While I was on the phone, I could hear the man say, "Oh, is that your friend? Tell him to come back out." My husband wrapped up the conversation politely, saying something like, "Nice meeting you, man," and the guy responded in this cold, almost mocking voice. "Yeah, I'm sure you really mean that." The way he said it genuinely made my stomach drop. A minute later, my husband finally came back inside. The second I saw him walk around the corner, I felt relief wash over me before I could even explain myself properly. He immediately said, "No, I get it. That felt really scary." That was the moment I knew I wasn't imagining it. We waited inside until my husband's mom arrived. The second we got into the car, she started asking how we were, excited to see us after we'd been away for a while. And honestly, I was relieved to see her too. Not just because we hadn't seen her in some time, but because it genuinely felt like she had unknowingly pulled us out of something awful. The entire time we were driving out of the airport, I had this horrible adrenaline still running through me. I immediately started trying to explain what had just happened, talking too fast, trying to describe why the interaction had scared me so badly. But the more I tried explaining it out loud, the more impossible it sounded. Nothing had technically happened. The guy never threatened us. He never followed us. He never raised his voice. And yet I have never felt a stronger, instinctual fear response in my life. I think part of what frustrated me so much was that I couldn't properly communicate what it felt so deeply wrong about him. Not to her, not fully to my husband, although he felt it too. And honestly, not even to myself. As we drove out of the airport, we passed the same man sitting alone further down the terminal. He didn't look over at us. But I remember staring at him through the car window, feeling like we had narrowly escape something I still can't explain. So to the man outside, Dolas Airport that morning, let's not meet. One user says, "The human ability to pick up on bad vibes goes way beyond what we can put into words. We perceive countless signals, voice tone and timing, face and body language, pheromones and other signals that we cannot articulate so please don't feel bad about not being able to rationally describe the danger. I believe you. I have no doubt that his intentions were not good. Why did he want you to come back outside? What was in that backpack? I'm glad you were able to trust your gut and both able to make it out there safely." And another user says, "What a strange individual. Almost seems like he was trying to flirt initially, but then the mask began to slip to show this serial killer side of him. I'm glad your husband recognized the vibe too, and both got out of that situation." And another user says, "Very disconcerting interaction. I'm really glad you're both safe. I don't think we can say for sure that he was a killer, although it's possible. But he was surely a mentally unstable person. Very hostile, cynical, and contemptuous. I'm sure you really mean that. You can see when his social mask starts to slip, and it was honestly quite terrifying to read. He could have possibly been S-word too." And the OP responds and says, "Actually, one of the first things I questioned afterward was whether maybe he was just deeply depressed or feeling S-word, and I had misread the situation. But what unsettled me so much was that it didn't feel like someone consistently sad or emotionally flat. At first, he seemed completely socially normal, friendly even. It was like the mask slipped halfway through the interaction and the entire energy it changed. That's the only way I can describe it without sounding dramatic. Something suddenly felt intensely wrong on a very instinctive level.
And my body reacted before my brain could properly rationalize it. The domestic incident at a neighboring campsite Hi, I told my friend this story of an encounter I had recently and he recommended I post it here. My partner and I are both 28 and we got engaged last week on the organ coast. The night after our engagement we decided to stay two nights at a campsite on the coast. This campsite has yards, RV spots and loops for people to park and pitch tents. Lots of families and people enjoying this beautiful weather. We stayed in a park and tent site with campsites next to and across from us. We rolled in before sunset and set up our tent. I noticed two men around a fire in this site across from us getting an early start on their drinks. One of the men whom I'll dub, the antagonist, was loudly complaining about a lady. He was venting about how she was a B word and a pathological liar. All she does is lie, lie, lie. She even lies to her mom. In my mind, I put it to the side. Whatever I think, everyone needs to blow off some steam sometimes. And I assume he's talking about a lady who isn't at the campsite. My new fiance and I head to the beach to watch the sunset. Then come back after dark and wind down in our tent. We picked up pet cemetery a few days before and took turns narrating the horror novel to each other. My fiance is enthralled with the story. Eyes closed and not quite yet sleeping. Meanwhile as I'm reading, I have one ear open to what's going on in the campsite across from us. The antagonist is significantly more drunk, slurring his words and still loudly complaining about this lady. I have the chilling realization that the subject of his rage is sharing a campsite with him and this other guy. At this point, it's around 11.30 pm, and the rest of the campsites are silent. What are you, stupid, S-T-U-P-I-D, you stupid bitch? He continuously braids her, while she speaks in a soft voice that I can't pick up. A few minutes later, he asks her to hold his hand. I pause my narration and prod my partner, quietly turning his attention to the fury brewing nearby. Unsurprisingly, I assume she rejected his request to hold hands. Wow, I wonder why. That's when the switch flips. The antagonist begins sobbing loudly. "Why won't you hold my hand, why won't you hold my hand?" He wails for about 30 seconds, hiccuping, and crying. Then it sounds like he starts throwing the folding chairs. His friend implores him to chill out, calm down, but to no avail. The friend is over the antagonist antics and heads to bed. Her pizza horrible insults at the lady, saying he hates her. Then he tells her over and over that he's going to effing kill her. After a minute long tirade, he states he's going to grab water. We hear him lumber away in a huff. My partner and I are tense, silently laying in wait. I turn our headlamp off since our tent is in direct view of their campsite, and I don't want to attract any attention. A few minutes later, the antagonist stumbles back. His voice is deep, menacing, and is taken on a venomous quality. Like a mantra, he grows to himself that he's going to effing kill her over and over again. This is the first time I've heard someone sound more like a monster than a human. Fear grips my chest and my body goes cold. My mind is racing, thinking he could have a gun. He's so drunk, what if he tries to shoot her and it rips through our tent instead? Is he going to murder this woman 30 feet away from us? Surely other campers are hearing this. Why isn't anyone doing anything? Is a stray bullet going to turn our blissful engagement into a terrible tragedy from a random act of gun violence? He demands she pour him another shot of whiskey. I grab my fiance, my phone, and a headlamp and take this opportunity to slip out of our tent to get help. My initiative is to put distance in a building in between us and this escalating incident to find a way to get help. This campsite has zero cell service. My partner goes to turn on the headlamp and I quickly stop him. I don't want to bring any attention to us. We slink past their campsite and see the lady pouring a machata whiskey to satiate him. We make our way to the front of the campgrounds to the park ranger station. It's dark. We check a map to see if there's a number we can call or a ranger we can wake up. But there's no indication of what the hell to do during an escalating DV incident. In an absurd stroke of luck, I discover a spot where I have full bars and call the police. I inform them of our location and what's going on. A minute after talking to police, a police officer calls and I repeat the story. They say they'll arrive in 20 minutes. Are you kidding? In 20 minutes, she could be dead. Alas, we wait. 25 minutes later, three cops show up. I inform them again of what's happening and plead for them to go help that lady. They take down my partner and eyes information as witnesses, which I begrudgingly gave. I severely dislike cops and would prefer they don't ever have my information. But I decided if this went to court and this lady needed to witness testimony, I would do what I can for her. Alas, I didn't like how pushy they were about it and how all three cops were wasting time at getting our info when an active DV incident was occurring nearby. Anyway, the cops interrogate the man and end up taking him to jail for the night. We go to sleep in the next morning and I make a report to the park rangers. Turns out that couple was planning to spend two more nights at the campsite, so I request to change sites. No way we're sleeping near them again, especially if we had an inkling and we reported it. The police dropped him back off at his site while I was at the ranger station. My partner overheard the rangers speaking to him. While night you have last night, huh? What's going on? And the antagonist responds that he didn't take his seizure medication yesterday and he starts acting up when he doesn't take it. Then begs to stay at the campsite still. The rangers let him stay and urged him to not forget his seizure medication again. Well, I think if not taking my seizure medication would make me a murderous monster. I would never, ever forget to take it. Ridiculous behavior, ridiculous excuse. We change campsites and ended up having a lovely second night with no drunken fury related ruckus. I hope that woman is okay and finds the strength and support to leave this wretched man. If there's one thing I hope you take away from this, please don't let the bystander effect stop you from taking action to protect someone. Be the brave one and take initiative to help. No one else from the nearby campsites made a report and I can guarantee he was being so loud that we couldn't be the only ones who heard. The creepy ride partner I met while I had an out of state amusement park alone. I have been wanting to share this story here for some time now, but haven't gotten around to it. This took place about a year and a half ago now. For context, I'm male and was 24th the time. Apologies for not being super neat and well written. I spent a few hours just writing all of this and I'm calling it there. It was early November in 2024 and it was one of the last days that the Cedar Point amusement park in Sandusky, Ohio would be open for the season. I had spontaneously decided in the weekly nap to that day that I wanted to go before they shut down for the winter. After all, I had a 24 gold pass I hadn't utilized to its full potential. Unfortunately, I could not find anyone to go with on such short notice. My wife, fiance at the time, was having chronic stomach issues and couldn't handle the rides anymore. Any friends of mine I tried asking were busy that day, so I just said, "You know what, I'm 24 years old now, super introverted, familiar with the park and just want to ride some rides. I'll just go by myself. Why not? I'll have fun anyway just riding rides and not having to wait up on anyone or go with anyone else's flow. And so I send it. The day comes and I drive three hours from my home in Michigan to Sandusky, Ohio. As I have many times in the past, Cedar Point was nothing new to me. Little did I know I was in for quite the shit show. I was about to meet quite the creepy character there. I arrive later in the day, maybe.
out around 3pm and go straight to the Millennium Force roller coaster and begin waiting in line. In front of me is a short, bald, clean-shaven guy, about my age in a plain hoodie and jeans, not conventionally attractive at all. Think of a dainty discord mod. He strikes up some small talk with me about the coaster which I entertain, perhaps too enthusiastically as a total Cedar Point geek. As the line progresses, this rapidly evolves into him opening up to me about him being autistic, claiming it's a vant style, and that he was smarter than most people. Asking my thoughts on that, asking a lot of random questions about me and what I do, leading me to give away my birthday, where I go to college, the retail chain I worked at, and very roughly where I lived in Michigan, give her take 20 miles. I wasn't so reckless as to say the town, and finally, that he wanted to ride the coaster with me. At this point, there were really no red flags yet in mind. I was just trying to be very kind and friendly, as I got the impression that not a lot of people treated him as such. Though I did try to put my foot down when he suggested we continue to ride together throughout the day, and said that I really came here that day with the intention to enjoy my own company and agency. In hindsight, I should have said right then and there, I was meeting friends later. Disclaimer, from here on, I have absolutely no backbone, comedically so, and make some really stupid decisions in the name of trying to be nice and unoffensive to this guy. I have always had a tendency to be pretty submissive and people pleasing. I want to say that I am painfully aware of how dumb and spineless I was from here on in this story, so please try not to rub it into hard LOL. We get off the ride and he asks again, so you're sure you don't want to just stick together? I reiterate my previously mentioned sentiment. He goes on to ask things like, "Is it something I did? Is it because I'm autistic? People always do this to me." Should have been a red flag there, but instead I try and console him by saying stuff like, "Oh, of course not, man. It's something personal. You're great. I'm just extremely introverted and just came here with my own plan in mind." He have accepted that answer, and then asks almost desperately, "How about just one more ride and then you can go?" And me with no backbone or awareness of how this is going to play out for the rest of the evening, and feeling bad for him, I say, "Fine, we can do one more." So we make our way to another co-star, Maverick. While in line for Maverick for an hour, things were fine for the most part. He told me that he was gay and talked about that for a bit, and I was just like, "Oh, cool man, good on you for being open about it." Not something I would typically even be bothered to mention, except it's important later in the story. He asked me if I was gay, and I told him I'm engaged to a woman. He asked me my thoughts on people being gay, and of course I'm nice about it, I don't care. Also ended up on politics for a bit, and finding out that he was gay, and a massive Trump supporter was perplexing to me. But anyways, we get through the line after about an hour. We get off Maverick, and I prepare to go on my own way, and surprise, surprise. He's asking me again if we could just stick together for one more ride, and guilt tripping me about how people always leave him. And like a spineless, broken record, I'm consoling him again saying, "It's not you, it's me." And then, fine, we can do one more and that's it. So we make our way to steal vengeance. In line for steal vengeance, he begins to go on about how there's this handsome guy in his life that is a friend of his, who he has feelings for, and that he doesn't know if he should confess his feelings to him. He becomes quite adamant about getting my take on it, saying, "If you were in my shoes, what would you do?" I ask him, "Well, is this friend also gay?" To which he responds, "Uh, I don't know. I think he might be straight, but I'm not entirely sure." I just tell him, "Well, you definitely want to figure that out because if your friend is straight, and you confess feelings, it's going to be awkward." And he was kind of bummed out for the rest of the line after that. It's slowly dawned on me that I was the guy. 90% sure anyways, LOL. We exit steal vengeance and the sun is setting at this point. I try really hard to put my foot down. Reiterating firmly that it's been great, but I really wanted to spend some time at the park by myself and that it's nothing to do with him that I'm just introverted, that I understand what he's going through, yada yada yada. And he's just not buying it. He's in guilt trip override at this point and I'm beginning to get very uncomfortable, yet somehow still also feeling bad for the guy. I'm just like, "We can walk and all think about it, just so I can stop you discomfort for a moment." We stop while heading back towards the front of the park because he needs to use the restroom and he's extremely hesitant to go in. He asks me multiple times, "You're not going to leave me if I go to the bathroom, are you? I've had people do that to me before." Of course I'm like, "No dude, I would never do that." And I meant it. I couldn't conceive of ditching a nautistic person at a bathroom in an amusement park, but I won't lie. The idea was tempting, but I told myself if I'm going to leave him, I'm going to have some decency and say it to his face. Not ditch him at the bathroom, but honestly, in hindsight, maybe I just should have with this individual. He gets done and we keep walking towards the front and I think of a brilliantly stupid idea. I'm like, "How about you give me your phone number?" And if I'm here by myself next year, I will totally hit you up. He's kind of like, "All right, yeah, I guess, and gives me his number." And of course, how did I not see it coming? He says, "Can you text it so you're in my phone too?" I am completely unable to think fast enough of an excuse as to why I couldn't do that for him, so I just cave and do it. Now he has my phone number. We keep walking and he asks me, "What's your last name so I can put it in my contacts?" And I politely, but firmly decline. Explaining that, I don't know him well enough to just give out my last name. He gets somewhat offended by that, and is like, "What would I do with that information? It's just for my phone contacts. Do you think I'm going to stalk you or something?" And I'm just like, "No, man, of course not. I'm just a cautious person. I don't give my full name to people I don't know." He proceeds to be kind of annoyed, but drops it. He then asks me shortly thereafter where I live. And just like earlier, that day in line for Millennium, I give a rough area, only naming the city I live 30 minutes outside of. And he's like, "No, like specifically, what town do you live in?" I go to blank in Southern Michigan for work. Maybe we can meet up sometime? And again, I have to be like, "Look man, I don't know you very well and I'm not comfortable sharing that with you." He gets offended again, like I'm making him out to be some creepy guy stalker and says, "We've gotten to know each other all day. You can trust me with that." He proceeds to pull up a Google Maps on his phone and show me exactly where he lives, even zooms in on the house and is like, "See? Now you show me." And still, I hold my ground because I'm dumb, but I'm not that dumb. And again, he's irritated, but he drops it. At this point, I'm mentally and emotionally exhausted and also getting kind of scared. It's become clear that this person is deeply insecure and I'm not sure what he's willing to do if I make him upset enough. And I am 24 by myself, a whole stay away from home and anybody I know, and it's getting dark out. At least I'm in public, thank God. So I begin to just be as and say that my fiance is not feeling well, and I want to get home to take care of her. He kind of understands, but also has this regards and is like, "Please, on last thing I swear, just ride the power tower with me before you leave." He does his same guilt trip ritual, and I don't know why at this point, but I cave. Maybe because I'm exhausted, uncomfortable, and low-key scared at this point, I've never even been on the ride. Honestly, kind of scared of the ride, but it's like I'm paralyzed at this point. On unwanted autopilot, we get in line and he's over the moon. He begins to prattle on about how he loved to ride this with his ex-boyfriend. And so now picture me, standing in line with this gay autistic creeper who's all giddy now, probably fantasizing about me, I'm standing before a ride shaped so much like a dick, it's uncanny. I'm terrified to ride it. I'm kind of terrified of him.
him and beginning to question at what point am I justified in laying this autistic guy out flat public. In all while just feeling like such a pitiful, spineless coward for letting it go this far, we board the ride and as we're slowly ascending into the sky, he begins to question if he's making me uncomfortable and says that he always feels like he makes people uncomfortable and pushes people away. I don't really know why, but I kind of switch my tone a bit now and I decide to be real with him, thinking maybe I would get through to him. I tell him like, "Look man, it's not your fault because understanding social cues and reading people's emotions is hard with autism. I understand that. I really do." But when you guilt trip people for wanting to leave and have their own agency and ask very personal questions day one of meeting a total stranger, you're going to make them uncomfortable and push them away. The ride drops us out of the sky and bounces us a few times. We get off and he's kind of quiet and seems confused. We're walking now on the main midway at the front of the park and he kinds of starts to rationalize his behavior and explain why he still doesn't understand why people leave him. I kind of just calmly reiterate what I said on the ride and he goes quiet again for a minute. He stops and looks down. I stop and glance over at him. He slowly looks up at me with a sinister looking face and says, "Slowly. Do you ever just drive real slow past a friend's house and just watch them?" And I respond in a very concerned tone, "Uh, no, I have never done that." And keep walking, thinking like, "Okay, it's getting serious. I need to break this off now and if I can't, it's a fight or flight. I spring out of here or if he's getting threatening and touches me, I defend myself." He starts to backpedal and act like the real, slow, car-stocking thing was supposed to be a funny joke. And I just turned to him and I'm like, "Look, man, this has been real great. I had fun. It was nice to meet you, but I have to go now. Bye." And I begin to walk. Keeping my stance sort of towards him in preparation for anything. Thankfully, he just sort of froze up and stood there and I was able to get some distance and start making my way up front fast. I don't believe he followed me, but regardless, I walked so fast, looking back every 10 seconds or so, scanning for him, waiting for him to be hot on my tail. Finally, get to my car, which was parked like 20 rows of cars out into the parking lot. Got in my car, locked the door, let out the most exasperated WTF and call my fiance. She calmed me down and we laughed about it as I began to drive home. All the while still paranoid and remains B for the coming week/months. Wondering if he had enough information, first name, birthday, 20 miles range where I lived, phone number, where I attended school, chain I worked for, as well as willingness and smarts to find me. A year and a half later though, and I haven't gotten a single text or call from him or any indication of being stalked and I keep a gun in our apartment, now partially due to that encounter. I know that I was incredibly dumb, naive, and cowardly throughout the entire day with this guy. It's honestly quite embarrassing even to this day, that I let that happen and that I let it progress to the point it did before actually putting my foot down and walking away. I let it ruin a whole day I plan for myself and join my favorite fun pastime. At the end of the day, it was a great lesson in setting boundaries with strangers who are kinda odd, while in a different state, alone, LOL. I'm honestly thankful for the experience now because if that hadn't had happened and played out the way it did, who knows how else I would have learned that lesson. And this story reminded me of something I was told a long time ago by someone very close to me, someone very close to me one time is like, you don't owe anything to any stranger. You don't need to be an asshole, but like, you don't owe anyone an explanation for what you're doing. Even if it's a friend, like, it's just so much easier to say, pay, won't work out, buy. And then like, no one's gonna try it like that's like knowing, but if you start giving reasons and explanations on why you have to go or why you can't do something or whatever, it's gonna get picked apart every single time and also like, you're alluding the person asking. And like, it kind of gives like, sometimes they want to solve the problem. And so like, then if you're trying to give like an explanation why you need to leave, then they're like, oh, well, it can work out anyways, and try to solve it. And so it just keeps going down this spiral of a comfortableness. And that's why you just need to set a firm boundary and be like, hey man, fun hanging out with you. See ya. Like, you don't need to give any other explanation. And I know that sounds very self-explanatory, but I just remember when someone told me that and I'm like, oh yeah, you don't really owe anyone an apology. You don't need to be mean about it, but you just have to be like, you know, just very straightforward and be like, hey man, nice hanging out, I'll talk to you later, buy. And that's all it has to be. And I mean, that's pretty self-explanatory, but it's just a nice little tidbit to remember if you're ever in an uncomfortable situation with someone. You're just like, all right, I'm in an uncomfortable situation. Just say, hey, gotta head out, buy. Nothing else. No one can really respond to that, but, um, yeah. A stranger blended into our party for hours. I live in a college city that is also near a lot of amusement parks and tourist areas. The cities on the outskirts have entire gated communities filled with huge vacation rentals. Some of these houses are basically mansions with pools, game rooms, theaters, and more bedrooms than anybody would realistically need. A couple months ago, one of my friends rented one of those villas for the weekend, and through an end of this semester party. It wasn't an open party posted online or anything like that. She invited her friends and some of her cousins around our age, and everyone was allowed to bring a few people. I went with my boyfriend. At the busiest point, there were probably 30 to 40 people spread throughout the house. Some people were outside by the pool, some were drinking in the kitchen, and other people were in the game room. There was also a theater upstairs that people kept going in and out of. A smaller group of us planned on spending in the night. So people had overnight bags, purses, chargers, and blankets lying around. Most people were still planning to leave later. I first noticed this guy maybe an hour or two into the party. He looked around our age, probably early 20s. There was nothing about him that immediately jumped out. He was dressed normally, talking to people, enacting completely comfortable. I assumed he came with one of my friends cousins because I had never met all of their friends. I remember seeing him talking to my boyfriend and some of the other guys near the game room. When I walked over, he joined the conversation like he already knew everybody. He even knew a couple of people's names, so I didn't question it. The first time someone asked me who he was, it was honestly funny. One of my friends pulled me aside and asked me if I knew who he was and I told her I thought they came with one of our friends cousins. We were all drinking, so it became a joke for a while. People kept asking each other who invited him, but nobody seemed seriously concerned. Eventually, someone said they remembered seeing him walk through the front door with a group that had gone outside to get drinks and other things from their cars. When somebody finally asked that group, they said they didn't know me either. They remembered him walking inside directly behind them, but they thought he had already been at the party and had just gone outside for a minute. One of them had held the door open for him without thinking about it. At that point, we were all laughing like, so who the hell is this guy? It was weird, but there were so many people there that we still thought there had to be an explanation. Maybe the person who invited him was outside. Maybe they had already left. Maybe one of the drunk people there had invited somebody and forgotten. He wasn't standing in a corner staring at people or doing anything that screamed danger. He was social, played games with people, and moved around the party like everyone else. At one point, I was standing near a conversation where he commented on how big the house was. He said something like, "There's so many rooms, but there's also mad people here. There is everybody even going to sleep." It didn't seem like a weird question because people were already talking about who was staying and who was leaving. Someone explained that only a smaller group was spending the night. A few couples had bedrooms and some people would probably sleep in the theater because it had large reclining seats. The theater was the main reason anybody was going upstairs during the party. People had been watching music videos and hanging out in there throughout the night, so nobody really paid attention to who was going up or coming back down. Later that night, one of my friends got way too drunk. Another friend helped her upstairs and put her in one of the bedrooms so she could sleep it off. That room was also being used by a few people who were staying overnight, so there were bags and other things inside.
A friend left the bedroom door wide open because people were going to be going in and out, and so anyone passing by could check on her. A little while later, the same friend who had helped drop stairs went back to make sure she was okay. The bedroom door was almost completely shut. She knew she had left it open, but at first, she assumed someone had closed it because of the noise downstairs. As she opened the door, the guy was inside the room, alone with our friend. Our friend was still passed out on the bed. Her purse was open near her, and the guy was standing by the nightstand holding her phone. My other friend immediately asked him what he was doing. He said the phone had been ringing, and he was trying to figure out who it belonged to. Then he said he had heard someone throwing up earlier, and wanted to make sure she was okay. My friend told him he didn't even know her, and had no reason to be alone in the bedroom with her, especially with the door basically closed. He kept saying she was misunderstanding the situation, and that he was only trying to help. The arguing woke up our drunk friend, enough for her to look at him and ask who he was. My other friend started yelling downstairs, asking who brought him, and telling whoever he came with that they both needed to leave. People started coming upstairs and gathering in the hallway. At first, everyone expected somebody to step forward and claim him. Literally, nobody did. One of my friend's boyfriends is a lot more confrontational than the rest of us. He walked up to the guy, and directly asked him who he came with. The guy said that people he knew had already left. My friend's boyfriend asked for their names. He gave one first name, but nobody knew who he was talking about. Then he said he might have gotten the person's name wrong because they had only recently met. Someone pointed out that earlier, he had acted like he knew one of my friend's cousins. He said we had misunderstood him. According to him, he never said he knew them. He only said he had been hanging around with that group during the party. My friend's boyfriend told him nobody there knew him, so he needed to leave. What really bothered me was how calm the guy stayed. He didn't get angry, embarrassed, or nervous. He just shrugged and said something like, "My bad, I thought it was an open party. It's not that serious." Then he walked downstairs and left. For a few seconds, everyone just stood there. He acted so casual that it almost made us feel like we had overreacted and accidentally kicked out some confused drunk person. Then the friend who had been sleeping checked her purse. Some of her cash was gone. That was when everyone started checking their belongings. Someone couldn't find their car keys. Another girl's wallet was missing. Somebody else couldn't find their AirPods. A group of us started searching the house. When they checked the theater upstairs, someone opened the storage compartment inside one of the reclining seats. There were several things inside that clearly didn't belong together. There were two wallets, a set of car keys, AirPods, a watch, loose cash, and a couple pieces of jewelry. Two driver's licenses had been removed from the wallets and placed at the bottom of the compartment. Both IDs belonged to the girls who were at the party. Everything belonged to different people and had been taken from different places around the house. One person had left her wallet in the kitchen. The car keys had been on the table near the pool door. The AirPods had been inside a jacket in the game room. Nothing technically left the house because he was confronted before he could take it. But someone had gathered all of it and hidden it inside the theater. We could improve that he had moved every single item. But he had just been found alone in a bedroom holding our friend's phone with her purse open beside him. People also started remembering that he had gone upstairs multiple times throughout the night. Nobody thought anything of it because the theater was up there and people had been coming and going. I know people are probably going to ask why we didn't immediately call the police. There were a lot of people drinking at the party, including people who should not have been. Everyone was worried the police would show up, treat them like a regular party crasher, and focus more on everything happening at the house. Nobody wanted my friends to get in trouble or lose the rental. In hindsight, we probably still should have called. Since the house was under my friend's name, she contacted the property manager and resort security. The rest of us only know what happened afterward through the updates she gave us. The house had a camera facing the front entrance and the community had security cameras throughout. The front camera showed the group we remembered coming back from their cars. The guy was walking toward the house alone several feet behind him. Right before they reached the door, he sped up and fell into step with them. When one of the people held the door open, he walked inside without saying anything. The group thought he was already with us. Everyone inside thought he had come with them. Security found more footage of him walking around the community before he entered the villa. They couldn't figure out how he originally got through the gate. He wasn't connected to my friend's reservation, and there was no guest pass under his name. From what the property manager told my friend, they checked with the nearby villas he had been seen around and contacted the relevant renters or property managers. Nobody recognized him or claimed he was their guest. The property manager was apparently furious with the resort because the community advertised itself as heavily secured. Somehow a random person had gone through the gate, wandered around the neighborhood and walked into a rental without being stopped. For a few weeks, my friend didn't hear anything else. Then the property manager contacted her again. Security had stopped the same guy inside the resort on another occasion. I don't know exactly what he was doing that time, but he wasn't staying there and wasn't listed as anybody's approved guest. They checked his identification and connected him to the footage from our party. His name wasn't common, so my friend looked him up. She found a Facebook profile that matched him and then found court records and an older local article. He had previously been convicted of theft. He had also been arrested for breaking into a home in a neighborhood nearby property and taking wallets, electronics, and other belongings. I don't know what legally happened after our incident. My friend was told the footage and information were given to law enforcement and that he was permanently banned from the resort, since nothing actually left the house. I'm not sure whether he was ever charged for what happened at our party. I still think about how easily he got inside. He didn't force his way through the gate or breaking into the house. He just walked behind a group of people and let everyone make assumptions for him. He stayed for hours. He talked to us, learned people's names, and heard that some of us planned on sleeping there. Had my friend not gone back upstairs when she did? I don't know how long he would have stayed or what else he would have done. The scariest part is that if nobody had questioned him, he probably would have spent the night in that house with us. This could be you if you joined the patron. FAQs
She lived with Andrew and Zeth, brothers who believed in the occult. The older brother, Adam, had mental health issues and claimed to see demons. He stabbed Andrew multiple times, then fled with the weapon, eventually confessing to the murder and planning to kill others in the household. He was sentenced to life in prison with no parole.
John, the man who moved in with the father, became increasingly unstable and made disturbing comments about the family and their pets. He had stopped taking medication and eventually attacked the father over claims of abuse. After a violent argument, he was arrested and later sentenced to life in prison with ten years before parole eligibility, after being found guilty of setting fire to an apartment and attacking a neighbor.
The woman reported multiple break-ins, including a man in a red truck entering the yard and searching the basement. Detectives found no evidence, but the basement was broken into, and items were moved. The man, Jim, was later found to have a history of criminal activity and was previously arrested for drug and gun charges.
The group heard strange noises and saw movement in the kitchen and bathroom. One girl reported hearing drawers open and spoons rattling. The police arrived but found nothing, and the girls were frightened. The experience led to long-term anxiety and the narrator now always brings a portable door lock to Airbnb stays.
She found out the church was actually the Family Federation for Peace and Unification Church, also known as the Moonies, a Korean cult known for its unusual practices and connections to extremist activities. The group conducted union ceremonies and had members who claimed to have traveled to North Korea, which raised serious red flags.
The woman heard a door slam and saw running water, with a figure moving in the alley. The motion sensor triggered, and there was a small hole in the basement window with white dust. After a second incident, she and her daughter confirmed the sighting, and the father and police checked the area. The woman now has a desk blocking her door and is cautious about future visits.
