Welcome. You're listening to podcast from Fear to Dare. I'm Jay Hong, known as Coach Jay. In each episode, I'll take you into a real-life moment where fear or strong emotions can take hold. Together, we'll pause, notice, and reset with short reflections and simple practices that bring clarity and strengthen the courage for your next step. And today, we'll explore a familiar feeling, the fear of failure before starting something new. You're about to begin something new. Maybe a project, a job, or even a dream you've carried for years. At first, there's excitement. You picture what could be possible. But then, the doubts creep in. What if I can't do it? What if I make a mistake? What if I fail and everyone sees? And sometimes, it's not even about starting fresh. It's that thing you've wanted to do for so long, but never began. Each time you think about it, the fear of failing whispers louder, the more you wait, the heavier it feels, and the dream stays waiting. Here are the three questions when you notice fear rising. You don't need to have the perfect answer. Just notice what comes up for you. Take a deep breath when you hear each question and pause to reflect if needed. Question one. What story am I telling myself about failure? Could it be if I fail? It means I'm not good enough. People will judge me in a loose respect. Question two. What is the worst that can happen if I fail? And I live with it. Maybe I'll feel embarrassed for a while. I may need to start all over again, but yes, I'll survive and I can learn. Question three. What small action can I take today that moves me forward, even if it's imperfect? Maybe take one visible step, even if it's messy. To reach out to someone who's done this before. Fear of failure is natural, but it doesn't have to stop you. True courage is not the absence of fear. It's the willingness to act in spite of fear. Every small step builds courage and every step carries wisdom. Here is one short reset you can try. Place your feet firmly on the ground. Take a slow breath in and exhale gently. Say to yourself, there is no failure, only lessons. Inhale again. Repeating is my act of courage. Exhale. I don't need to be perfect to begin. Repeat this three times and let it remind you that each beginning may feel uncertain, but starting is what turns possibility into reality. Thank you for being on this journey from fear to dare with me. If this reflection resonated, subscribe and share this episode with someone who might need a gentle reset today. Until next time, and remember, every pulse is a chance to reset, and every step is already progress. [BLANK_AUDIO]
