S:2 E:17: Joshua Brown of Nerdz and Hip Hop

(upbeat music) (upbeat music) - Well, well, well. Welcome back, y'all. I can't believe you came back. (laughs) Let me just say I'm glad you came back. So welcome back to another episode of Gadgets and Geeky Represents. Geeky, sexual and intellectual. I am your host, Q. And I'm here to bring the good damn time. Okay, so our season opener, season two opener, is Mr. Joshua Brown of Nerds and Hip-hop. This brother, first of all, he's fine. I'm gonna stop saying it 'cause I'm married. My husband's gonna chew me the fuck out. (laughs) So I don't know if Joshua's single, but y'all hit up his demons, make you feel good, make them brown cheeks blushed. But yeah, this brother created basically a platform for AKA Nerdcore Artist. If you don't know what that is, it's basically anybody that's a lyricist that involves their passion and love of geek culture was that it be anime or comic books into their rhymes. Like I told him in the interview, which you'll hear, I didn't even know about this until I ran into Mr. Crazy Eighth the Great. And it was like, where has this been all my life? I'm not saying it's a new genre, but it's new to me in the last year or so. And I'm so glad that it has touched me in a way that music has the majority of my life, but this touches me in a different way because of the passion for geek culture. I always start to show off with trying to do a mental check-in without my guest. So how you doing in these run-of-times? - Well, I, so, my mental health is good, man. I stay on a positive note. Like, I mean, I'm on a positive kick forever. That's my, that's my whole thing throughout this time. I'm just been trying to keep it, man. Like, trying to stay busy, trying to stay focused on something else. That helps my mental health, 100%. - Yeah, so at any point 'cause it's going on what, six months we've been doing this? (laughing) - Yeah, man, like, sometimes we don't feel like it. Like, you know what I mean? 'Cause I'm an essential worker and everything, but it's like, it's still just, you could feel it. Like in the air, like we go somewhere, or whenever you go, it's just like all the stuff that's shut down, that wouldn't have been. It's kind of like, ooh, this is starting to look like last of us or something. - Yeah, yeah. - Oh, like this. I gotta open to you, shut up. - That's my song, all right? - Yeah. (laughing) - I think about that a lot, like, you know, a lot of businesses are trying to make it as best they can, especially small businesses. So I'm like, what would this look like, you know, in the next year or so? Because I've known, I'm in the catering industry. So a lot of our competitors and stuff like that, you know, we close niche, we keep it in the fold. We talk to each other and some people, like, they had to close the doors a month in. So I'm like, a lot of my favorite places might not be open when we finally can get out there like we want to. - Exactly, man. It's like a big old, like, if you ever seen a movie, Sarah did Bruce Willis. - Sarah did. - That sounds familiar. Are you talking about the people with the, they will put their consciousness in the robots? - Yes, that's what it feels like, man, like, they're trying to get us there. Like, you know what I'm saying? Like, pretty soon, ain't nobody gonna be outside. Is this gonna be everybody inside and these little robots? And, you know, just, like, stuff we can't even touch out there. Like, you know, I may start to go conspiracy theories, but you know what I mean? That's how I feel. Like, you feel like they preference for that. They're like, I don't know, this is, it's weird. - I just, maybe we could talk about that forever because I have my own theories. And I'm like, people like, oh, this is just for the meantime. And between time, I'm like, I think this is with us. It's like the, like the flu, flu is every season. And this is a higher caliber flu, basically. But I'm just like, I don't think it's going anywhere. It's some stuff that you can eradicate, but I don't think this is gonna be one of them. - Yeah, and she asked the thing, like, I don't feel like, yeah, you can't, 'cause you can't make everybody do everything at one time, like, we just, we're not that type of society, man, we're free. Like, we too, like, you know what I'm saying? So we're gonna, we're gonna be like, after this is gonna be like, a gang of people that don't got their mask on, a gang of people that you got their mask on. And like, you know what I mean? It's just gonna, it's just gonna be like that. This is what it is, man. Like so, mm-hmm. - Mm-hmm. Like to see an end news and they was showing a world map. And it was like, all the countries they have closed, it's gates to America, like, flights coming in. It's probably two countries in a world, like some place in Africa and some place in South Asia. And the rest of the world, like, no, I keep y'all asses in America, y'all in time out. Do you motherfuckers don't know how to act? You don't want to follow orders, 'cause you think if somebody is fringing on your rights, be over there with that toddler shit. - That's what I'm doing. (laughing) - It's not any happening, you make a trip to nowhere, dude. - Everywhere. - Everything. - You're gonna go to Jamaica. (laughing) That's it. (laughing) - Like, me out here out there somewhere, not wearing a mask, looks, and somebody on both sides of here. - I feel like that's what we're going. I think even in the United States, I think that's where, you know, we all get into a point. Like, motherfucker, if one more person catch this virus, 'cause they don't want to wear no mask, get your ass in a corner. (laughing) - Social, this is, you know, social time out. - Yeah, damn, oh, it makes me crazy. - I just feel like, you know, it's a, I guess you dancing on a knives edge when you start talking about martial law, 'cause when do you, when you cut that off? But I'm like, I feel like we getting to that point, because the numbers ain't slowing down. They just rising and rising and rising. So at some point, you got it in States, something like that to be like, go asses on punishment for real, for real. - Pretty much, you need his own list. (laughing) - I'm gonna hit you with something like this. I mean, I feel like they knew that already. I feel like it's, you know what I mean? It's so many things that are in place and are society like, especially all the, you know, social media, all this stuff like that. They kind of have a firm idea and a firm grasp. I will react to certain stuff. - Yeah. - I feel like they already, like, and I say anything, whatever's going to happen next was planned to happen next. - Yeah. - That's just how, that's how I look at it. That's what I'm not tripping on, like, kind of like. Yeah, this is probably planned. They knew, they knew it was around the corner. Like, how do you feel? Like, I mean, I feel like, you know, the whole, oh, you know, it was a back. And they said, I mean, I'm sure some of, some what, the sums, you know what I mean? Some way, there was something like that. But at the same time, I'm in for a place that knows when earthquakes is coming, the storm is coming and all this to not know when a super pandemic could possibly happen. - Yeah. - I don't know. I just feel like it's a little bit, you know, flat. - Well, see, that's a lie, you know, like Trump, like to say fake news. But I'm just like, it's a lie because this is something that the CDC is always worrying about. That's more than a job is to try to get on top of something before something pop off. So they've been telling government, it's coming. It's coming. Y'all keep cutting out aid. It's coming. You keep cutting out grants. And here it is. And we just ask, all of us ask out. - Yeah. - Ah, okay, I got to cut 'cause I'm sweating, thinking about this shit. (laughing) So basically, Joshua, we got you on the show today to talk about you and nursing hip-hop. So basically what I'd like to start off with with my guess is to talk about how you were growing up and the things that influenced you and your life to get you where you are today. So if you could walk us through that. - How I was growing up. - Little black weirdo. (laughing) - Okay, yes, we all are. (laughing) - Let's start there. Now, for me, growing up, I grew up in the lake, like in the mouth of Cali, you know what I mean? So I grew up in LA until I was like 16 and every time I moved to the island empire. But the reason why I'm mentioning that is because as we all know, highly, you know, gang area, all that stuff like that. Everybody knows how Cali is, especially Los Angeles. So, you know, growing up in that area, but I had a different way about me, which was I like, nerd culture things. At the time, it wasn't caught that. It was just, you know, video games, whatever the case may be, blah, blah, blah. And, you know, it was pretty much, I knew what I didn't want to be, which was a gang member and all that stuff like that, but you still in that area. So, it was a heavy influence on the culture of what I knew or what I was, you know, around. But at the same time, my parents were amazing, you know what I mean? you know, keep me and my brother, my brother's sister active and you know, church things and just family oriented, making sure that we were well-rounded. So, you know, I did a lot of movie watching, a lot of video games and a lot of staying inside the way, you know, the things that are going on out there, you know, but it's still like, it left me middle ground. So, it's just like, a nerd with an edge. That's pretty much where nerds and hip-hop started for me. That's the base route because it's Emmy, it's who I am. I mean, look at all of those tears. Okay. All right. So, um, so, whether any specific things like so, were you into, because I don't, I don't know your age, I'm not trying to put you out there like that. I tell everybody my age, I'm 40. So, it was a lot of cartoons that I watched that made me into this today. So, we're there in a particular cartoons from back in the day and comic books and movies that just influenced your nerdhood if you will. I definitely like, you know, me for, for me, at the younger age, Spider-Man was my god. Like, I always had some sort of a Spider-Man figure or something everywhere with me. He was in my pocket and he was losing arms and legs. Spider-Man just died in my pocket and shit. But, uh, you know what I mean? I was that kid. Like, let me know I said Spider-Man comics. And my first brush with anything comic-connish was, um, like everybody knows about Western, and that led to street Western, as long as I don't know what. But, on Western, um, I forgot what the cross street was, I was young as hell. But, uh, was a card show that happened every, I would say, every year. And, uh, you know, me and my brother were able to go to that. And it was just like, you know, we would just kind of ride our bikes, and it was right there. My mom wasn't tripping. It wasn't too far away. Everything like that. And the card show signified my nerddom because it was just so many things. There were so many, like, I love comic cards at the time. Yeah, the comic cards, like comic books, uh, those, those exclusive toys that you would never find anywhere, but in the back of the comic shop for like $40. Those, they had all of that there. And I was just like, oh, this is better than toys and rust. I'm saying exactly. So I've never been like, fuck, Chuck G's on. That for me was the, like, the pinnacle of me understanding that, like, I like nerd stuff. Like, but I didn't know that's what it was called. I might have thought comics and things that such were cool. I didn't like sports. I was comps all day. Yep. How did you have with any anime ever influence you? You just straight, like, Western comic. Man, anime, uh, that's what I'm glad you're doing this with me. So we could do this in categories. I can sit there and talk about every topic 90 minutes at least. But, uh, so anime for me first on out was just dragon ball Z. And I guess at the time, I didn't even know that was called anime. Like, I started was just the dopest fucking cartoon I've ever seen in my life. I was like, where do you see a cartoon where like so many men get killed? Like, blew up. I was like, oh, he's like, I don't think like the G.I. Joe, they remember what G.I. Joe, like, somebody blow up in the plane and they always the parachute. I was like, you need to go here. This thing could go with the parachute. Like, I see you make it out of this, sir. Yeah. There was no parachute for Krillin. So I was like, this is the game come. Oh, shooting day. Oh, this is real. Go training and all that stuff. Like, it just really was like, uh, a cartoonist soap opera. It's very dope, very dope. So that was my first brush. The anime was dragon ball Z. And to tell you truth, I think that is uh, true of a lot of black people because that was one of my first. And everybody I talked to, they say that it was their first. Nobody, you know what TV channels you had in your negative woods. That was everybody's first, basically. Yeah. When we connected it, I was always tell people, it has a undertone that black people can connect to. Yeah. Like, go cool. Yeah, cool, dude, you're cool, dad, but you're a piece of shit, dad. Go cool. Yo, I was thinking that shit too, like, recently I started watching Dragon Ball Super just because, like, you know what I mean? And, uh, I was just like, once he got that money real quick, it was just like, all right, teach him out. Like, you're saying, you're a whole last son. Like, I'm gonna miss you, dad. You know what? And it means that's like that. It means that in the community like that, then you find a dude in the, in the neighborhood that he liked the, uh, the neighborhood godfather, that's fucking piccolo. Some of schoolies, kids, they daddy's ain't around. But I'm just saying it's relatable. Okay. That's why piccolo. I was black to me. Everybody. Oh, man. We got that deep voice, man. Kind of sound like a tyrants or something. What the fan thing is, he said he had a line. I don't even remember which episode it was, but he was training, um, Gohan and Gohan started crying. He said, "Are you crying? I'll give you something to cry about." And I was like, oh, this nigga's black. He said my mama line. I said, this nigga is black. Okay. So that's enough about that. What I want to, uh, ask you, if you could tell our listeners what made you create nerds in hip hop? And how did it all start? Okay. Yo, definitely, um, I love talking about the story because, okay, um, I started and I still do. I'm creating a comic, a general Dush when everything like that. And, uh, you know, it was a black man character. And, you know, I was looking at who would be my demographic. Like, I was reading a lot of books on, on, you know, creating a comic book and stuff like that. And like, you need to reach your demographic or what you get done. So I was, I just started out on Instagram reaching, like, seeing who my demographic was, looking at different things, like, you know, following people, talking to people and it was like every page that I went home, I seen people like, oh, I love anime and hip hop. I love comics and hip hop. I love gaming and hip hop. And I was like, I mean, too. Don't, like, never mind. And I was like, no, what? Maybe dope. Both of those things were on a platform together. So you learn about it. And, you know, not necessarily, um, you know, those two cultures are too far from each other because I also used to MC. I was the thing that I used to rap a lot. Like, I mean, and, uh, so for me, it was this kind of life. That's a, that's a dope angle to kind of like give people, uh, a platform to just enjoy both. Like, you know, it's apologetically, like, and bridging the gap between both of those cultures. I felt like, you know, it signifies how close people can be. Like, you know, I mean, we're not just for another, like, I mean, it's like, it's like the number one genre in the world right now in their culture. It is one of the biggest cultures. If not the biggest culture in the world is any aspect of their culture. People can relate to exactly. So I was like, yo, let's join up. Let's see, let's, let's start world peace there. Why not? That's just kind of like my thought. And also, showing people that, you know, nerds hit different these days. We're looking a lot different these days. Like, yeah, you're right. It ain't seen in her circle. You know what I mean? I mean, it's like, I had a question sometimes. Like, somebody was just like, oh, why are you putting such, you know, saying people that look like models and stuff like that? And I'm like, because I really want to signify that these are nerds too. Yeah. The reason why you're shocked that I couldn't see seven people is the reason why I want to, like, say and do it. It's like, you know what I mean? So, you like, you know, uh, Mama's from down the street. Like, you know, I mean, she could look like a homegirl. She had her house watching anime. It looked like, uh, you know, she's in a hood outside. He also does gaming all day. Broadway girl talking about the rest of the segment. It's it's dope because people didn't know. And I mean, yeah, because it goes across demographics. It's accessible to everybody. You know, back in the day when, uh, you know, anime made its way across the ocean over to the States. It was limited. So now you can stream. You can download it out. You got your anime. You can, uh, get your PS4 and play with somebody in Japan online. Like, it crosses all those barriers that before you had to have some money or just access to be a part of it. Just have that kind of, uh, you know, geek them going on in your world. Yeah, man. But when you spoke on the hip hop and, uh, have comics and hip hop coming together, I thought about Marvel because they picked up on it too. They felt it, it was a vibe. So they had all those covers that, uh, mimicked the hip hop cover. And so I was like, oh, that was a vibe. (laughing) - I think that's one of those going. And like, you know, it's a big transition that didn't happen with like the hip hop culture and, you know, nerd culture. You can see it all over like you got your Travis Scott's, like, you know what I mean? That, you know, like you did that whole fortnight in concert, you know what I'm saying? You got like your kid cuties. You got like different people that have already kind of been on that cuff bridge in the gap and then you got your maid in the stallion that hopefully says she really loves anime and that's cosplay, you know, in mainstream media. Like, you know, it's signifying that she really loves anime. So you got this thing going. And like, you know, nerd core hip hop rap and everything like that, which I'm really trying to spread. Shout out, shout out, shout out like, you know, that's a subgenre that's hot. And if you've ever been at MC, you know stands on top of subject matter and creating a genre out of subject matter, that's not easy. So it's just like, that separates the management of voice to me. So, you know, it's so much going on in connection with the whole nerds and hip hop thing. It's just, you know, it's time to down out like, I feel like, you know, push the line on that. Yeah. In other words, it's time to capitalize. You know, you know, it helps folks capitalize. Yeah. Definitely a help because, you know, you got, I was telling somebody else also was just like, you know, it's so, it's been so heavily influenced by game culture. Like hip hop, you know, saying the drug lords, nah, nah, nah, nah, you know what I mean? Like, I'm attracted. I'm not mad at anybody for doing what they do. Like, you know, me, I've got to put that out there. But at the same time, you know, I feel like this genre's a little bit more, gets back more to the element of hip hop. Like, you know, that sounds, you know, like, dope stories are, or creativity. Instead of this, I'll drug this drug that. We could lose it in rappers left and right. Like, young pop smoke, like, you know what I mean? Triple X, like, you know what I mean? Like, that's just sad over like, you know, rap being signified with game culture and drug culture. Like, it's like, let's get it back to like, you know, some chill stuff too. So people can just show their talent and I have to worry about getting shot. - You can get it. - You know what I mean? - I'm gonna take your back back. 'Cause again, I'll be showing my age. Original anime lovers was the Wu-Tang. - Is that, yeah. - Nerds, they was hard as fuck nerds. It was like, you know, the Rizzo ass. He didn't live in the compound in Japan and learn how to do a Wu-Chu martial arts with the fucking Shaolin Mucks. So that was, you know, those, the greeting grime. And it was like, fuck with it. I know what I like and I can still whoop your ass. - Exactly. - That's the level of nerd that I'm talking about. That's we've rolled over over here, nerds. - So with your brand of nerds in hip-hop, you talk about the team, the team members you have, all of your different people that work with you and y'all work together to break the brain, nerds and hip-hop together. - So basically a team of nerds and hip-hop, yeah. - Well, yeah, like, I feel like, okay, so my whole thing is the team. For me, that's why I say I have community and not followers, like I mean, my team is the entire, anybody that is a follower on nerds and hip-hop is really community. So it's community, like I mean, so everybody that is on this page is part of the team, like the same, our potentially can be, like, you know what I mean? So that's what I want to do, is that's what I want to do is a more interactive page that you guys are interacting. The growth is success of nerds and hip-hop is based solely upon the community and how much you guys want to do with this and help me do. Because honestly, it's me. Like I said, it's me, like, you know what I mean? So it's, and we got other people that are connected, like, you know, directly, my guy is in an MSPRIF, like, you know what I mean? People that I've known for my hip-hop side of things, that, you know, help me track some of the things over, but it's still part of the community. - Okay. Cool. Breakdown for the listeners. What do you actually do, like the inner workings at nerds and hip-hop? So I know you have some nerd core or nerd rappers that you work, how does all that take place? How do you connect with these people? - Okay. So the very big important thing about nerds and hip-hop that I need everybody to understand is that nerds and hip-hop, besides being a page, is a website that I had planned on turning into a more nerd core platform, our rendition of World Star Hip-hop, like I mean. So that's what nerds and hip-hop.com is. And what I want to do is get everybody's community and everybody that I know. Slut into that, like I said, so that we can create that to be something huge. Showcase to giving nerd core rappers a platform, giving cosplayers a big platform, or another platform, gamers all of the alike. Like, you make short films that are cosplay-oriented, like, blah, blah, blah. Hip-hop infused. Like, you know, just giving them a voice, another voice. And then, you know, I want to get away from social media after a while, have it be solely on there because as people need to understand, we do not own our social media page. - Exactly. - You're bringing a space, let me just say, like, that's a very big equivalent to owning a house. I mean, renting a place, and owning a place, like, you know what I mean? So, like, I want to make sure that my people know, like, definitely try to create your own platform because I know anybody that I know that has a page anywhere, as succumb to how they like to run stuff as in getting put in Facebook Jail, or getting shut up, and we count for, like, 10 days. Like, come on, Brad. Like, miss me with that. And that's somehow how you're doing, ridiculous, gratuitous, but showing, or whatever the case may be. - Yeah. - But you're just gonna cut off my voice, because it's like, this is my opinion, which is like, I get out of here. - Exactly. You got your own website, you got your own actual app, you don't have to worry about this shit. - Exactly. That's where this needs to go. I mean, yeah. - For everybody. - Oh, for everybody, but thinking small, you stay small. So, you put that out there for me. I hope they take a note. (laughs) What are your future plans and goals for Nerds and Hip Hop? - My future plans and goals, like I said, is to first and foremost, make sure Nerds and Hip Hop.com is what I say, it is. It delivers, like I say, I wanted to deliver. Did you see me just do the Obama hand? - You did. - That's it. - Stick to me. - Stick to me. And then after that, I really wanna delve into creating like a Comic Con, that's kind of like, San Diego Comic Con means Coachella vibe, like, you know what I mean? Like a big ass comic convention/concert. Like I see it happening, like, you know what I mean? Just vendors upon vendors, like, you know what I mean? Everywhere acts of all kind, like, you know what I mean? Like, maybe the first day of the All Hip Hop, the second day in the same rock. Something like, you know what I mean? 'Cause the shit, reggae, I don't care. But whatever the people want, like, you know what I mean? And just making this vibe is the dopeest shit ever. Like, so, I'll definitely call upon the superpowers, bloodsleeping, all that, to make sure that, you know what I mean? At some point, like, I'm gonna build to that. I'm a very big person on taking your time, making the right steps. But definitely, I'm gonna workaholic. So, all those rights that should not be too too far. So, but, yeah, that's the time I think. - At least see that shit, but no, because I used to be in radio. So, we used to have a car show every year. It's like an annual thing. Everybody knew that was the shit that hit the city when the summer come out. They would have the car shows, competitions, blah, blah, blah, then they would have musical guests. So, it would be like tears, the little tiny stage for local artists. You had a big stage for your fucking Cardi B and whoever was gonna roll through. So, I can see that shit happening. That'd be great. Keep it. I want to go. I want to get past. (laughs) All right. Let me see, okay. So, could you name a couple of the few that you work with, you're a true sponsor and you showcase on website? - You said a few artists? - Yeah. - Or a nerd core, hip-hop artist. - Okay, cool, cool, cool. Like, this guy can do anything you want to do, man. It's just so happened, it does RAP. Just the people, just the three of that name. Like, there's other ones and I don't want to leave them out either, but at the same time, I don't want to make this just a big shout out. Like, for the rest of the day. So, you know, those are the three that I work with directly on the regular basis. So, they are like, just the fact that I created NERC and if I'm able to meet some people like you, man, that is so driven, man. So dedicated to the craft. So creative. It just showed me that I'm headed in the right direction by creating this. Like, it just signify that. Yeah, man. So, okay, you spoke on cosplayers. Are you working with cosplayers right now? Um, I'm always reaching out to cosplayers. When we say work with, I would say like, you know what I mean? I would say definitely, yeah, one of my favorites, man. Like, I always shout her out because she shows so much love and continues to show love. And uh, to nerdsahhiphub.com, nerdsahhiphub.com page is, I don't know if you know, a feminist chronicles. Yes, I follow them. So damn, man, it's just an amazing ass personally. Let's get past the fact that she's beautiful, but it's just the fact that she has a beautiful heart, bro. Like, I was just like, I didn't expect her to show as much love as she did early on. Because you know, people are with followers. Oh, you got 100 followers. Uh, come back to you and you got the picture. I mean, you know what I should like, you know what I'm talking about? I'm going to talk to you bad and angry about the auto care. Honestly, but at the same time, it's like to see somebody that's on a level higher, way, way higher than you that's able to be like, Hey, man, no, don't worry about that. Showing love just because they did your page and did what you're trying to do like, yo, I was like, yo, that's, that's dope. I appreciate you. Like, I mean, so much so like I said, she's one of the main ones jet cosplay and another amazing dude that showed crazy love. He steadily shows love. But, um, so freestyle Friday, man, it's a segment that we do on Friday, like, you know, me and, um, usually you can find that on our page and our stories. Okay. The reason why I did it like that is because, you know, it's it varies from week to week, how many people we have. Sometimes it could be as less as three people, sometimes it could be as many as I try to keep it a cap to like six or maybe seven if we just, we just have an influx of people that are sending in, uh, and also people that send in, like, you know what I mean, their videos, like, I'm a very honest person. If it's, if it's really bad, I'm going to tell you. Yeah. You can see myself. I can't sit here to let you go out like that. I mean, like, bro, you might want to work on this, if I want to work on that. But yeah, you're being like, no, I want you to play it on the night. Yeah, it could be 100 like that because keep, you know, like you said, submitting, submitting, submitting. You're not the final word, but that's not my, that's not on brand. We're not going to play that. And so you need to come and try again. Better. Say it, tell me I can't stare into don't certain things. Like, let me, if you, uh, if you're, like, okay, people do certain stuff sometimes just to be funny. And sometimes what you're saying is mad offensive to a lot of people. I really love for people to speak their mind. But there, you know, there's a time and place for that. Like, you want to go on a live and speak your mind. You can kind of tell your story cool, but like sometimes, like, you know, if you're just outwardly just saying wild stuff, like, you know, I mean, or just get some sort of reaction. Like, I don't put you on the platform. Like, trying to keep a level of positivity in the sense, not saying I'm trying to finish your style is, but definitely just come correct. Yeah. Well, I think that's cool. And that's just, in any way, just, oh, you're going to rap live, and it's just, it's freestyle, right? So I think that's cool. Yeah. So I want to talk about, um, a little bit more about you. We did that. We talked about your brand. But what's, uh, something you wish you had known before you began this journey, who building your empire. I wish I knew how difficult it is to be a content creator. I thought this effort, but I first seen this, I was like, oh, that's dope. I just know I'm supposed to stuff. Like, it became my thing. Yeah, it's a job. It's for what it is. Like, it's my last job. Like, I need to know that because I think people that know when they see you drop someone, they see it, there's a charm constantly see me. But it's so easy. Show love because we need it later. I mean, and I promise you, like, this is what anybody that else is on here, a Nertro rapper, a cosplayer audit, these content creators need that love too, because this is not easy, bro. Don't just look at it. Comedy, Sherry, shit. And we heard it like really, like, it's a real line. Like, it's a 24/7 grind out of sleep, like, you know what I mean? So, I don't know. That's one of the names of, I didn't know it was going to be so involved. And I love it though. They'll get me wrong. I'm not a plan. Yeah. But it's, yeah. I know it's going to be tough like that. I didn't know. Yeah. Yeah. I'm going to tell you right now. We have some, uh, some connection issues, but that's how good. We don't keep rolling. We don't pause. And we need to. Yeah. If it pause, right? We told you to make face though. So you good. So let's go. Okay. That's usually my face. That's typically my face. Yeah. Okay. So my next question is, uh, what advice would you give to someone wanting to pursue a career similar to yours? Oh, that's a good one, man. Actually, I get people that ask you that. Different. Ask me that. My thing is have your name and your theme. They don't talk. Like I said, as much as you can, like, let me jump off and other stuff and stuff like that. But you know, I want you to know that because that's what makes it hard even for myself because I knew taking on their culture and hip hop culture is going to make me be a little bit all over the place. And that's one of the worst things you can actually do as a brand unless you brand that. Just like I said, my goal is to go world star with it. That worked for world star jumping everywhere. Like I mean, I felt like it can work for this. But I try to tell people that look at my page and just think that I'm just posting. It's just, no, there's a method to my madness. So if you're following what I'm doing a little bit, make sure that you know why you're doing it. Like, I mean, not saying like, oh, I'm in on copy. And I'm not saying I'm just saying, no, why you're doing it because your posts are going to show if you're just randomly posting stuff. You want to think of some sort. So I really want to tell you, like, always kind of have a theme. I mean, I'm not the perfect person for that. I've got a million followers. But we do have like about, you know, someone from a 5,500 or something like that. And that was all within a year. Like, you know, I mean, you know, learning about has only been a pain for just about a year now. So like, I feel like we had some good, good success honestly. So, you know, that's just my giving the people because you can potentially ward off people, but just post them too much Brandon wouldn't know unless you're like a mean creator like I mean that's don't you get that yeah yeah so like the old cliche goes is a method to your madness like you gotta have a plan you gotta have a three month plan a six month plan a year plan you know and just keep building on it you always need a new plan because that's what I'm doing right now I'm like okay what I'm gonna do what's what I'm gonna do fresh and new so yeah what you always gotta be grinding that's the thing yeah it'll take on to get old because people have attention spend is like that but what are some of the best resources that have helped you along the way some of the best resources is actually you guys like Blair Fleet and other people that have been doing some of the things that I'm doing now before me like you know I mean that's always a helping and actually the ones that are willing to give back because you're gonna run into some cast that you're gonna feel like they stiff-harming you because they stiff-harming you exactly they don't really want you to connect like you know I don't say that to be like a hero be like you know negative it's just really to give people a heads up because you get into this stuff like that and you look for like especially if you're black and you look at other black credits like oh you don't take me in you gonna show me look baby yeah there are ones that do and like I said that you know you guys and I mean uh the blood fleet you know I mean and things are such you know blood over all that like you know it's that acceptance and also that camaraderie kind of helped me a lot because it was just like I'm watching other people do what I do and like I mean and they're struggles they're triumphs they're they're uh they're sweating tears you know saying of like you know uh this week uh this month like you know I mean it makes you not feel alone and that's and I don't care what anybody says one of the biggest things a human nature when you're going to do something it's not feeling alone like you know I mean so that that I feel like you know I mean that helps a lot yeah because uh before Kurt um reached out to me for the blood fleet there was plenty of times blood uh got you the geek you didn't make it like it was at least three times I was like I'm done with this shit I don't think you know it's I'm not getting reciprocation from it I don't know if people really like it so why am I still doing it and I was like yeah I'm done and then Kurt just came at the clouds it was like come over here baby it's where your people ask what the world's here but you know I mean as you know he's like hey bro like because I reached out to them like actually honestly like those are like I was reaching out to everybody at this time I was just I reached out and you know you got back to me and then we just started chopping it up being you know messaging and I was just like I don't like this dude it good you know with the invite I was like yo you saw it like I mean I'm rocking to ask I don't know everybody yet and I don't know like I'm a Cali dude so you know one of the things about us is that we don't we're not the quickest to trust like you know what I mean but I stuck the more I watched the more I look you know me from this I was
