Russia Escalates Attacks on Ukraine as NATO Faces New Security Concerns

A global financial platform called Wise enables users to send, receive, and spend money in over 40 currencies with transparent, Google-like exchange rates, avoiding hidden fees. In parallel, a major escalation of conflict is unfolding in Eastern Europe: Russia has launched ballistic and drone attacks on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, including the CHPP4 power plant in Kyiv, with critical early warning systems failing due to U.S. support withdrawal. NATO members Bulgaria and Romania have also been targeted by drones, raising concerns about hybrid warfare tactics. Ukraine has responded by launching a large-scale drone assault on Russian oil facilities, signaling a new phase of retaliation. The situation is further complicated by Donald Trump’s refusal to provide vital defense systems like anti-ballistic missiles or Starlink, and his dismissal of attack warnings, which critics argue undermines Ukraine’s safety. A bipartisan group of senators has condemned Trump’s diesel export policy as a strategic failure. Former Trump envoy Keith Kellogg has urged Ukraine to target Russian refineries, framing the conflict as one of military targets with no civilian sanctuaries. As civilian casualties rise and power grids fail, the world faces mounting pressure to hold the U.S. and its allies accountable for the deteriorating situation.

All hell is breaking loose as NATO has come under attack. Yet again, two vessels were struck off the coast of Bulgaria in the Black Sea. Bulgaria is a NATO member more on that in a moment. Also, Ukraine was under a massive attack yesterday. By Putin, we saw ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, Garen-4 and Garen-5 drones and hybrid ballistics and cruise slamming into power and energy facilities all throughout Ukraine yesterday and the early alert systems which provided Ukraine with notice before the ballistic missiles and the cruise missiles would strike into the city. Sufficient notice to warn the population this warning system was provided by the U.S. Was not working pretty much the entire day yesterday. It seems like Donald Trump is intentionally depriving Ukraine and Zelensky of the early detection system that the United States had previously provided. Back to what was going on in Bulgaria, then we'll talk about what's happening in Ukraine. Then I want to talk about Zelensky strikes deep in Russia at various diesel and oil facilities over there. We've seen just a massive escalation in the past 24 hours and then yesterday after that deranged first press briefing by Katie Zakaria, Donald Trump's new press secretary. Remember Donald Trump said, "I just think it's all going to work out just because everything always works out" and he said, "I've done deals my whole life. I'm a deal maker so that's why I believe Putin more than Zelensky. Let's talk about Bulgaria. Two vessels struck off the coast of Bulgaria in the Black Sea. Eleven sailors missing from one of those vessels. Sadly, we believe there were a lot of casualties in the strikes that took place as there previously was as well. When we believe it's Russian drones, who else is sending these types of drones into NATO economic zone territory, but Bulgaria was targeted a few weeks back and then we had Romania. Had we saw off the coast of Romania, vessels were targeted recently as well. In these cases, both the leaders of Romania and Bulgaria are not actually saying that the drones that struck these vessels are from Russia. Instead, you've been getting statements like this and I think this is what Putin is testing as part of the hybrid warfare campaign as he's doing these provocations off the coast of NATO countries like Bulgaria, Romania. This is what the Prime Minister of Bulgaria Rodov said. "We do not have clear and conclusive evidence to attribute responsibility to either side. However, as I have already stated, the logic suggests that the outcome benefits the Russian federation. I will therefore summon the Russian ambassador for a meeting today." You may recall the video I did yesterday where you had one of the NATO Allied commanders show up in Poland at the Warsaw summit that would be General Grinkerich and he gave the speech about the theory of victory and if Russia were to do this and that or the other, we will blunt them and we will punch them back and we will do all of these things." He was saying that in Warsaw to try to instill confidence, which is severely lacking based on Trump's behavior within NATO itself. Then you had this incident happen shortly thereafter. That's what's going on in Bulgaria. The Bulgarian economic zone, Bulgaria is a NATO member, Romania is a NATO member. There has been no invocation of Article 4 of NATO. That's the consultation provision of NATO. Article 5 is the Joint Defense Obligations, neither being invoked at this time. Now, Zelensky posted the following yesterday. A Russian ballistic attack on Kiev. Once again, no early warning from our partners, referring to the early warning systems that were once provided by the United States, that Ukraine relied on. The main target was energy infrastructure, specifically CHPP4. That's the central heating and power plants over there. Unfortunately, it was a hit. A residential building was also damaged and rescuers are currently putting out a fire there. Our systems in Ukraine detected these missiles only when they were already virtually on approach to Kiev. CHPP4 is one of Kiev's key energy facilities. According to our intelligence, the Russians are preparing further ballistic missile launches. The facts show that the Russians do not consider themselves bound by what the President of the United States said. Ukraine supported an energy ceasefire. Russia is targeting yet another power plant and the lives of our people. And this is absolutely unjust, Zelensky says. When they are destroying our energy infrastructure and Ukraine is not even receiving early warnings about ballistic missile launches, it is important that the world does not stay silent about this. And it is important that the United States really see what is happening and who is responsible for this war continuing. Please stay safe tonight and tomorrow. We are working to replenish our air defenses with anti ballistic missiles. But I think this is precisely what Donald Trump wants. Trump has refused to provide the sufficient weapons through the Pearl PURL-URL system for NATO members to even purchase weapons for Ukraine. The Trump regime has not provided interceptors to Ukraine, has not provided the interceptor license to Ukraine, has not allowed Ukraine to use the Starlink in Russia in order to simply target the Russian ballistic missile launchers. So you can evaluate for yourself what they are doing when the Trump regime says, "Ah, it must be the weather." That's what the Trump regime officials were saying. That's why the early detection systems were not working. So let me show you. This is footage from Kiev last night, showing the moment multiple Russian ballistic missiles impacted the thermal power plant in that city. Play this clip. Another clip here, let's play it. What I'm showing you here is in Carkeev city. This is the tech 5 power plant, which was under a large-scale ballistic missile attack by Russia. At least six Iskender and ballistic missiles impacted the power plant. Strong explosions were heard over there. And you can even just hear and see for yourself what it sounded like in Kiev during the ballistic missile attack last night, where you have these S-400 missiles and others targeted the CHP for combined heat and power plant. And possibly the Darnitsia locomotive depot. Large fires broke out following the strike. Once again, there was a failure to detect the missiles being launched. Here, play this clip over here. So then you had Ukraine, though, striking back yesterday. So yesterday, then Ukraine struck an oil depot in the Belgorod oblast setting at a blaze. Ukraine launched over 500 drones yesterday into Russia. And it was one of the first Ukrainian strike on energy infrastructure in Russia since Donald Trump announced the energy ceasefire, which Zelensky heard for the first time. And Putin heard for the first time. Zelensky said he would abide by it. If Putin would abide by it, Putin started striking energy infrastructure continued to in Ukraine. So Zelensky did this. This is in Belgorod oblast. Play this clip. Now, I will show you what was taking place in the Balakolvo region in Russia. The moment of a strike on energy infrastructure there, play this clip. So we go from the Balakolvo to the Balakolvo region and now let's go to the Saratav region where you had Ukrainian drone strikes in Saratav as well. We'll show you what that looked like for yourself, play this clip. Here is another storage tank over at the Nova Stinks oil depot which was in the Rostov region in Russia, also struck by Ukraine. So we've got the Strykin, Rostov, the Strykin Saratav, the Strykin Balakolvo, the Strykin Bolograd, Ukraine was launching drone after drone, show you what that looked like for yourself. This is in the Nova Stinks oil depot in Rostov, play this clip. A fire was raging throughout the day at the Asgardon Dital plant in the Rostov region as well. The scale of that fire seemed to extend about 9,000 square meters and a warehouse wall collapsed. The company that saw its warehouse combust seems like a Ukrainian strike of some sort, maybe the FPV, maybe something else, specialized in the production of cart and shafts and metal components. It has facilities for metalworking, laser cutting, stamping and heat treatment of metals. It's burning well, even without the help of drones. We'll see you over there. And then we'll show you since the fire broke out at the warehouse facility that we just showed you at the Asgardon Ditalty plant in Rostov. Several hours passed and it was still lit up here, play this clip. Now this has been the second day and this seems to be the pattern of the Trump regime not providing Ukraine, Zielinski, with the early warning detection system. Six more Republican senators just joined Democrats in calling on Trump to reverse his decision to allow Russia to sell its or purportedly to sell its diesel into the world diesel market. I say purportedly because I don't really know where Russia has diesel surplacage to provide the world market. It doesn't have enough diesel for its own people. There have been many experts in the area who believe that Russia may be getting surplacage diesel from Iran that may be sending it either through the Caspian Sea or in land routes to Russia. We've seen a lot of Iranian trucks in Russia, likely with diesel. So unclear if that's where it's coming from. The bipartisan letter signed by 12 senators now, including six more Republicans who joined with Democrats called the sanctions relief, a betrayal of the people of Ukraine and a gift to our adversaries. Meanwhile, at that Warsaw security forum, Donald Trump's former top envoy to Ukraine, Keith Kellogg said that he would tell Zielinski go and strike every Russian oil refinery now. Keith Kellogg was Donald Trump's guy. Keith Kellogg was supposed to be the United States envoy to Russia and Ukraine. You can say a lot about this guy. I mean, and there's lots of aspects of Keith Kellogg that I disagree with. He says a lot of things that I vehemently disagree with. He says some things that I agree with. What is accurate about this guy, though, is that he's at least qualified for the position. He's gone through the ranks of the military. He's commanded large groups in the military, but Putin did not want this guy to be the envoy. He wanted to deal with Whitcoff and Kushner. Putin chose the US negotiator that he would deal with and said, "I'm not going to deal with Kellogg." So Kellogg just became the envoy to Ukraine and then basically got sidelined by Whitcoff and Kushner who handled everything because that's what Putin wanted. And then he left the regime, Keith Kellogg did a little bit a while ago. But here's what Kellogg has to say. Play this clip. So I've come from a position that I don't like sanctuaries. So if somebody said to me, for example, the President Zelensky, "What would you tell President Zelensky? What I tell President Zelensky is I don't give him sanctuaries." I'd burnt down every one of the goddamn refinements that he brought to the house today. Take them all out. And I said, "You make them pay the price. You take it home." It's a military target. Take those targets out. Now there's a difference in targeting. You know, Russia is targeting schools. They're targeting civilians out there. They call it "Human Safari Targeting," the Ukrainians are targeting what I call "military targets." And you shouldn't have to go back when I was in Ukraine. Some children shouldn't have to learn schoolwork in subways. They shouldn't. But they have to go there because Russians are targeting civilians. Don't go there. So I'd say to the Ukrainians, "Target what you're doing right now, which is good," I know it's hard to say, "but you're marrying that home to the Russians." And that force is that there's no sanctuaries in warfare. You don't like to say it. Military sanctuaries. I think when you look at civilian targets, those should be sanctuaries, you know, young kids, schools, hospitals, those are sanctuaries. The Russians have not heard of that. I think the Ukrainians have done that. And my position would be, take that to an extreme, make them pay the price and the price you make them pay is something revolutionary, which is their oil and their gas industry. And that's what I'd tell the President of Ukraine. Now, there are large-scale power outages across Kiev, across Karkiv, and across many other areas right now. There have been a number of casualties in Ukraine as well as a result of these strikes by Putin and Russia. And let me just show you what Trump said yesterday when he was heading to Alaska about I do deals. And that's why I believe Putin, I do deals, listen to what he said, play this clip. FAQs

Wise is a financial service that helps users send, spend, and receive money in over 40 currencies. It offers transparent exchange rates similar to what you'd see on Google, avoiding hidden fees and helping users save money on overseas transfers.

Many providers claim no fees but often hide extra costs through exchange rate manipulation. Wise offers clear, transparent rates that match real-time market values, giving users better value and avoiding unexpected charges.

Drone strikes on vessels near Bulgaria and Romania have raised concerns about hybrid warfare tactics. While neither country has officially blamed Russia, leaders suggest the attacks benefit Russian interests and may be part of a broader provocation strategy.

Russia launched ballistic and cruise missile attacks on key power plants like CHPP4 in Kyiv and the Tech 5 plant in Carkeev. These strikes damaged energy infrastructure and caused fires, with Ukrainian early warning systems failing to detect the missiles in time.

The U.S. previously provided early warning systems to Ukraine that helped detect incoming ballistic missiles. However, these systems failed during recent attacks, raising concerns about U.S. support and the current readiness of Ukrainian defense capabilities.

In response to Russian attacks, Ukraine launched over 500 drones targeting oil depots in regions like Belgorod, Saratov, and Rostov. These strikes aim to disrupt Russia's energy supply and retaliate against ongoing attacks on Ukrainian infrastructure.
