Roz Hernandez Should Be More Famous

Trixie hosts a special episode of her show with Ros Hernandez, who steps in to fill in for Kati, who is currently away due to health issues. Ros, a transgender comedian, podcast host, and ghost hunter, brings a bold and humorous energy to the conversation, sharing her journey as a queer, trans artist navigating visibility in media and comedy. She discusses her work in ghost hunting with gay men on Grindr, emphasizing how these experiences are both playful and meaningful, especially within the context of queer community. Ros reflects on the challenges of being underrepresented in mainstream media, noting how the door for trans women in TV closed around the time of the “Dillm of Anything” controversy, despite her being cast in a Hulu show. She shares how she took initiative by touring across America with drag shows, selling her own merch and filming ghost hunts, and creating an audiobook titled *Ping and an Empty Bottle*. The conversation highlights her commitment to creating safe, joyful, and inclusive spaces—especially in LGBTQ+ comedy and performance—where audiences feel seen. Ros also touches on the importance of self-expression, humor, and community, joking about her iconic "two-hole" ghost story and the idea of a future "Trixie cruise" with drag queen performances. The episode ends with a heartfelt tribute to Kati, celebrating her absence while affirming the strength and resilience of the community. Ros’s presence underscores the value of laughter, authenticity, and queer resilience in both comedy and the paranormal.

Hi, it's me, Trixie, the ball in the beautiful hello. I'm here and obviously we have an empty chair today. I just wanted to address that Kati is going to be out for a while focusing on her health. I actually had Kati come to my rescue a few years ago when I took several months off for my recombobulation and I remember I felt so grateful that Kati had guests and kept the show funny and light and it really gave me the space to get back to even better than before. So I just want to tell you guys I intend to stay here with you guys have amazing guests. Keep a great show going and let's just center some wonderful well wishes while we keep being ridiculous here. Okay, okay. Yeah, and who do you guys want to see Kaho's with me because when Kati had Kaho's they were all so good and now I'm like well we got to really bring the heat. So we have some great ones lined up that I'm filming today but I'm really excited to maybe reach for the stars and get some really good guests. So start spamming your celebrities on the internet become annoying. And now our first guest, Ros Hernandez. Hi, it's Trixie. Hi, it's just me obviously. I look incredible. I'm trying to go for the singers. What am I toplover? Not even introducing you yet. You're not here. Shut your damn mouth. I don't know where that was a ghost. That was a ghost. I heard it's just me, Trixie. Oh no, no, no. I'm going to introduce you and then I'm going to go home. Okay, and then I take over. Yeah, you're fans are going to love it. You guys, I'm about to read a very important intro, but obviously you've already seen her in my god. She looks gorgeous. Can we get a clap for the room, please? Oh my god. Thank you guys. We got this good lighting and we're normally shining it on a human scab. So this is incredible. Oh, thank you so much. I'm honored to be filling in. Well, if you're wondering who she is, she's not just a model, a chair model. She's also, our co-host today, who's a hilarious comedian, a spooky podcaster, an audio book author, and the haunted doll. It is the very transgender Ros Hernandez, the very transgender Ros Hernandez. Yeah, where the fuck did you get that from? That is from her web series, that haunted doll. I don't appreciate that. Very transgender. It doesn't feel right coming out of your mouth. I'm sorry. When I say it, it's fine. I as a white man was just handed these cards by a Mexican lesbian, and I just read them. Well, I'm also very Mexican. If you want to put that in there too. Yeah, what happened to everybody's Tia, Ros Hernandez, you know, something more? Oh, well, maybe we'll write the intros next time. Here's the third. I can't do this. You can call me whatever you want. I'm honored to be here with you. I'm honored to have you. This is so major for me, and you know, it's become my catchphrase, Ros Hernandez should be more famous. But that is true. And it is true. And you have helped me tremendously last year. You let me ghost time your house, which people recognize me from all the time. Do they really? I so appreciate that, which has been amazing for my ghost hunter life, which is part of my life. Right. I'm a stand up. But you know, everyone knows me as like the ghost hunter now. And now I'm now people know me as the person that like, you know, ghost hunts with drag queens. I'm sorry that we accidentally destroyed your identity as a as a greater entity, which is a comedian and everything. I've been working on it real hard. I've been working so hard to destroy my identity for years now. And there's drugs for that. But I just want to say when we first had you on for the ghost hunting, at the time you were kind of like, you identified to me as like the ghost hunter who's comedically a skeptic. Well, that's the thing. A lot of people, a lot of people don't consume my work because they just hear ghost hunter. Like I hate go. And what they don't realize is I also roll my eyes at ghost hunting. Right. I the reason I do it is because there was not very many people of color, queer people, funny people, fabulous people that are doing it. So I'm like, this has so much opportunity to be really gay and silly and fabulous. So that's why I got into it. But I don't know what the fuck I'm doing. Frankly, I don't think any of those people know what they're doing. I think I just talk about the fact that I don't know what I'm doing. I think a lot of times when we have problems, we want a professional to help us. I get that. But a lot of times people don't know what a ghost really it like nobody knows. It's called the unknown for a reason. And also, I mean, I like that your approach to sort of like, this is what I think, but how would I know I'm not dead? Exactly. Like the truth is, I know you speak to spirits or whoever, but Mary, you ain't dead. I know a lot of us are theories. I know tons of theories. I know tons of cases that people have studied like facts. Sure. But everything else, I'm kind of just like, hopefully there's a go. And if there's not a ghost, I'm not faking it. I'll be like, there's not a ghost. And if there's not a ghost, is that so bad, you still get your day rate? Like, it's not day rate. No, it's not like a, did you pay? Wait, let me check my Venmo. I didn't get no day rate. No, but the people you ghost hunt for professionally because you know, if if you're going to ghost bus, be the ghost buster you wish to see in the world, right? Of course. And you're kind of the, um, Melissa McCarthy of ghost hunting and that it's refreshing. Thank you. Remember when it is entertainment. I mean, I'm, I don't fake any ghost hunting, but I'm here to give you entertainment. Like what I wear this to go ghost hunting. No. Yeah. Oh, I hope so. No, I do. But what I typically like in real life, if you were like, I have a ghost come over right now. I'm not going to be like, give me two and a half hours to put on my fake ponytail and my nails and like what, no, but it's entertain, it's fun and it's like fabulous. So, so that part of it is entertainment. But then like the ghost part, if a ghost happens, a ghost happens, right? I can't control that. All you could do is try to, I guess what are your goals when somebody is, is asking for your expertise? What are your goals as far as like delivering that expertise? Are you hoping to, to, to confirm a ghost? Are you hoping to be like, Oh, girl, you're good? It's like a checkup. I would love to find one too. I want to see a ghost. Right. I haven't seen very many ghosts, but I want to, or I want to find things that I can't find the explanation for, but like my web series, the haunted doll on YouTube is, I find guys on Grindr that join me and that's always fun because I go to different cities and I find these guys and we just have a key key, like no matter where I'm at, we're just like, I can find a really fun gay guy and the two of us just try to find ghosts. We do the Ouija board. We do all of it. I bet that gay guys, gay guys aren't the bravest in the face of danger. I'm not. That's what I'm saying. You're the strong, you're the strong force here and the gay guys, what's screaming? I get so much more brave when the gay guy shows up. Oh, really? The first half of when I go something by myself, because I do it completely by myself. I bring, I set up all my own cameras and I do it at haunted hotel rooms because it's cheap to just rent a hotel. So I show up. I'm not responsible. I didn't bring no demons with me, but there is something outside. It's Katya. She's trying to get in. Oh my god. Yeah, I'm sorry. I'm just filling in this one time. Okay, it worked. I always thought she would sound more like rattling chains or like, on an American horror story when they let a cigarette that that's what I think Katya's ghost would smell like. I hate in TV when they let a cigarette and it sounds like a blowtorch. Why do they do that? They do do that. And I'm not a smoker, but when I've stood next to people smoking, I don't hear a forest fire. So I don't know who in sign does that sound does that is like, let's turn that shit up. Bump it up. Is it because when you're a smoker, you're close enough to the cigarette that your, your does hear it. When you're lighting it, do you smoke? I have. Do you feel sexy? Of course. There's nothing hotter than smoking cigarettes. I think, I think, I think a lot of people feel that way about when they smoke. Let me ask you this. Since you have a lot of children that consume your work, do you get concerned about the, what do you talk? I feel like you don't. Like, I feel. I know. I feel so inspired by you and the way that you deal with all of that kind of stuff because like, I'm starting to just get like kids and things like that. And I'm like, I, that's not never been my goal. So like, like, I'm just some drag queen from the clubs. Right. So I'm like, I almost just said like, yeah, smoke. It's good. But then I'm like, wait, but children could hear that. Well, I mean, I don't think smoking is sexy. So I wasn't going to affirm that to you because I don't think smoking is sexy. It's an immediate now. Are you serious? Unimmediate now. Okay. Good smell. More for me. Yeah. There are, and there's plenty. Yeah. F**ks with f**ks. Go do it. Probably have to believe that. We don't know. I, don't you not say f**k? You'll never really? But you know, that word has been said to me by ghosts several times. And they don't get, they don't get censored. If a ghost to say, if someone is dead and they say f**k it, they're allowed. But they don't have Google ad sense. Like, they're not going to make any money on the view of that. But if I post it, right. I want that money. Oh, so like you're saying, you should be allowed to post a ghost saying f**k it, not be censored. It's not you said that. And it is. From my experience so far, I have not had a ghost cross the line when it comes to ads on Google. Right. Well, as far as like, if gay rights is just getting a little good in the grand scheme of human history, if it's just now getting a little, a little cool for us, Why would a ghost from 200 years ago be like what? - Work, bitch. Live your life, honey. No matter gay straight or about that ghost in that withered, wickered antique outfit would be like, you're a f**k. - But here's the question is always like, if they're here this whole time, are they like consuming everything that come, you know? - I think so. Like when I'm watching the rehearsals of Atlanta, I think the ghost in my house is sitting there eating the ghost of some Cheetos and being like, yes girl, read her. - Your house is one of the more haunted places, I bet. - I am not even kidding you. - I'm not joking either. - Travel the world. - And your place is so authentically haunted. And like anytime someone brings it up to me, I'm like, you have to understand. There's no faking. There was no faking. - There was no faking. I don't think about it much because I get scared in my house. So when people bring it up, they're like, is your house still haunted? I'm like, thanks for the reminder, how I don't know. - But it is. Can I tell you how I had a haunting the other day. Now this was a haunting. I'm gonna give you like a Tarantino version. - So are you gonna take my feed out? - I want you to kill me with a sword. No, basically I was downstairs on my phone and Mr. Wonderful, my partner, I had just got out of the shower and I, the shower, my little Bluetooth radio and the shower, all that, got out of the shower. Came downstairs, I'm sitting there. I'm on my phone. I'm talking to him. We're about to leave and go out for Michael Henry's birthday. - I almost went. - It was really fun. - I love Michael. - Michael comes up to me and goes, "My friend's about to show me a picture of his dick. It has two dick holes that it comes out of both of them. Do you want to see?" And I said, "No, Michael, I don't want to see." And he said, "But there's two holes. Do you want to see?" And I said, "No, I know what you're saying." And you do? - I said, "Don't you think it's probably the same amount of semen out of two holes?" There's a thing that's like-- - Is it two different directions? - Which, where is the, where are the holes? - I was the one with the guy before the head two holes. - You did? - Yes. This guy had, I can't remember talking about this. This guy had the P hole in the normal spot on the right under like direct dew south. There was another hole. - Okay. - And only when he was adraculating, did I notice that? Because it was-- - And it came out both? - Yes, it came out both. 'Cause it's like-- - What? - Imagine milk coming out of the news. There's two holes and they came out equally both. - At the same time. - But the event was so similar to the sex with this person. - Yeah. - That it didn't even come up. I just went home being like, oh, that was two dick holes. It was like so normal. - Right. - I wasn't gonna be like, oh my God. - Yeah, I mean, in our travels, you'll see lots of weenies and booties and all kinds of things as the years go on. I have not seen that yet. - Maybe, well, ask Michael Henry. He had a princess Tierra on that said 40th 'cause it was birthday. - Oh. - And he kept going, asked me if I wanted to see the penis with two holes and I was like, no, I'm good. He was like, no, I don't think you're hearing me. There's two holes, I know there's two holes. I'm good, so I laugh. - Most of us have not experienced that yet. - No, you've seen that, but for me, I'm about to text Michael. I won't see. - Well, maybe you need to expand more to like the ex files where they don't just do aliens, they do paranormal. What if you did ghosts and aliens and double p-holes? - I will investigate any p-hole that has double. 'Cause you've been doing that longer than ghosts. - I, so let's be honest. - I did your pod back in 2000. - You've never been on ghosting? - You're one of the most requested people, and I know you're one of the busiest people. - I'm not busy. - For people you live actively in a haunted house. You are the dream guest for my podcast ghosted. - Let's do it. I'll go. - Yeah. - You shouldn't. - I'll go, let's take a break. - According to my people, they've been emailing you for two years now. - No one asked me. - Okay. - We'll set it up. - Listen, we're gonna take a break, and I'm gonna book it, and we'll be right back. (upbeat music) - Okay, we're back. I did your pod. You had a pod with Sam Pancake in-- - Yes, 2016. - 2016? That was probably one of the first pods I was ever even on. - Are you serious? - Yes. - I've been podcasting a long time. I mean, I honestly, I've been thinking about. You have been thinking about what am I gonna talk to you about and what's been on my mind, and I've been thinking a lot about, because this Rosemary should be more famous thing, keeps coming up, it was just a thing I needed some merch, so I just made a bumper sticker, and I was like, what's a message I can put on it? And I was just like, I should be more famous, so I put it on there. And now people keep coming up to me constantly that are like, you should be more famous. You should like, I keep hearing it all day long, which I like or whatever, but it makes me think about like, God damn, I've been in this for a long time. - You know, it's really show. - There's a certain amount of humility in being willing to joke about, but the joke is about what you haven't achieved, is what you're saying, like-- - Well, let's be so for real. I feel like I don't hear enough people talk about this, but the window is closed for new trans women to get on in the masses in media right now. - Not in my media. - Thank you, but like, it mainstream media, the door has closed. - Interesting. - It has. - It was the last one through the door. - I'm not really, well, I can tell you, I can tell you who was the last one through the door, because it did close with the Dillm of Any Budweiser thing, which I will never blame Dillin for at all. - No, buttings to make up on a drinking of beer is not illegal people. But the pushback made it so that there's just, I don't know, the jobs, there's not opportunities. - Interesting. - Nobody has said to me specifically, we don't work with trans women anymore, but-- - Except me for two years. - But there's been, there hasn't been TV jobs, and like, and I used to do commercials all the time, and whatever, but so the TV show that I was on, I got cast, I got cast in December of 2022. The Dillm of Anything happened in April of 2023. My show was announced a couple months later. I mean, it was announced on smaller publications and stuff, and then the show, which was on Hulu and stuff, premiered in the fall, and a lot of people didn't really hear about it, and now, and then it was taken off of all streaming. So I like got in right, like I was like, oh, I'm, I get to be on a TV show, like I'm a trans lady, like it's to be on a TV show, and then-- - Which is huge. - Yeah, I mean it totally. - It still happened. - And yeah, and I'm very proud of the work that I did, but unfortunately like now people can't see it anywhere. It was removed. - Something like that happened with Queen of the Universe, it got released all at once and then pulled off the platform. - Yeah. - Which was, I heard, like it was like halfway through the second season, I got a call being like, the rest of the episodes are gonna come out tonight, and it's gonna be off the platform by next week or something, and I was like, why, I mean, I don't understand why those things happened. I don't know what, what that means. - And I know that there's a lot of elements, so I don't specifically say. I have no reason to believe that any company or any one person is responsible. I don't know, I really don't know anything, but I know that I was casted a TV show when the window was open, and I haven't even auditioned for a TV show since then. So when I talk about, I should be more famous. That's like for me, that's sort of what it means, because I'm like, oh, I thought I was about to be on this giant TV show. - What I like about Roz should be more famous is, I like that it encourages the audience to, I don't know, it encourages the audience to be like, don't you think this is as good as some of the shit you've seen that gets plastered everywhere that has much higher budgets on billboards? Don't you think the shit I'm giving is that good? Don't you think my shit should be winning that shit is? And it's something that I think only like a hot bitch could do, 'cause if some like-- - We have to be able to back it up. - If some like straight white guy said that to me, I'd be like, no, no Gerald, I don't. - So last year, I had no work. None on my calendar at all. And so I decided to book my own tour. And I was like, I'm gonna do stand up. And so I started posting. I was like, you know what, there's so many markets, I just don't feel like I can go to an America right now. Like if I went to do comedy clubs and I don't sell out and like the locals show up in the middle of the country, like, that's terrifying. I don't know what that could mean. - It's, Juneau was telling me something similar when she was bringing her material to like, mostly like normal comedy room straight audiences. She said it was just, she was so unsure of how it would go. - Yeah, it's really scary with the way that people are. They just hear trams and they're fucking pissed. - Right. - And so I was like, okay, maybe I can do it where there's drag shows. So I posted, I was like, are there drag clubs? Like, where would you like to see me? And then people started tagging. I ended up booking 50 shows across America. - You booked it yourself. - I did everything. - I remember this tour. - I made my eventbrights. - You drove it too, right? - I drove by myself. I sold all my merch and me in a couple of suitcases. - By yourself. - By myself. - You sold your own merch. - I also brought an additional suitcase for my ghost hunting so I could film you too while I was out there. So I had three suitcases and a car. Bitch, I got dreams, okay? There's no opportunities for me. I have to go make up my own. So I drove to all these cities and it was so amazing. It was such a. fun time. And luckily, I'm so grateful to Simon and Schuster. I got an audio book that I was able to write while doing it. That's the great thing about books is that biggest don't read books. So the books world you could love that's just in theater. I'm like, thank God, they are so accepting of any identity. But girl, you know what I love? I love. Think about wicked. Think about a musical about skin color and discrimination and being different and coming into your power. Yeah, think about conservative watching that mean like, so me. I know, right. They're like, I am. I'm like, what are you talking about? I know they don't. Racist being like, I love hairspray. I'm like, you do what you love. I like the colors and I like the facial expressions. Like they're just, I have a family member who's a trumper. And I was talking about that show, the boys. I'll exclusively have family members love. We might be related. So I was talking about the boys and I was like, God, it's crazy how much they're barely doing like metaphor. They're just doing Donald Trump with homeland or I mean, he's being portrayed as a religious figure, blonde. It's just mag up in super hair world. And the person I'm related to was like, oh, I just, you know, I'm just watching a show, you know, you can read and do whatever you want. I'm like, read and do it. It's not even a buried metaphor bit. You just see what you want to see. They watch hairspray and they're like, this movie is about dancing. Totally. And being big. Totally. Like they just sure. Yeah. Wicked. Like, oh, she like, oh, or she her skin's green. That's crazy. Kind of totally. But I don't like my neighbors with a different skin color. It's like, okay, girl. I mean, I'm sorry to like hijack that but no, you're exactly right. It bothers me to know and because I just think like, girl, what are you? Why are you going to see a musical if you're a conservator? Get the fuck out of here. I know. That's right. You're gonna see Rocky Horror. You're gonna see Oh Mary shut up. I do feel like as time has gone on. I'm like, I want to be just more explicit. I do, I'm sure you do this too, where I sometimes I test like, I'll say something a little bit that'll just like weed out some people. Like I like to just make sure that anybody that has the wrong idea about me doesn't, they know this is your stop. Get off. I think I do that on stage and off stage. Yeah, I had a show called tricks and motel ages three and up in like 2016. And the name as you'd imagine confused a lot of people. So three year olds were coming. So I was telling, I was telling my story for my life age three and up, which is like upon about how toys always say three and up. Right. People were bringing kids because accidentally I have never not been a drunk foul mouth. Right. Right. But I don't know why the kids all liked me. So people would walk out every night. And I would make sure I said the sick shit up front. I said some sick joke about like blowing my dad, which is obviously a joke. I don't know my dad, but I've blown a lot of people in the middle. So I don't know when can hear when you do it like this into the microphone. Thank you people because have you ever met your real dad? I'm like, no, but I've toured to the Midwest a bunch of times. I mean, and I've said a lot of older guys. All we could do is hope 23 me didn't exist back then. Let's take a break. No, but that's not take a break. Okay. I forgot what I was talking about. You were talking about just like getting the joke out so that people know. You have a joky throat early. Yeah. Juno said she does some things similar, which is she makes a joke about as you guys noticed, I am British. Right. Which is like she has a signature first. Then we can all move forward with the story about the gas station or whatever normal shit because I think the audience, because I used to stand up and drag, which is not the same as being trans. People at least hate me for my Halloween outfit and on my identity, you know. But I imagine for you, you might feel like we got to take a big swing in the beginning. And then if you I would rather you leave right away if you're gonna leave. Exactly. Well, I mean, I've done Santa for 13 years and I did it. I used to do it as a drag queen in like comedy clubs and stuff. That's right. Yeah, so I would go up and do 10 minutes after whoever it was, Bill Burr or like it's always a bill. It's always bill somebody. And then it would be like a drag queen for 10 minutes. And that that taught me a lot about, but it was a different time. You know, it's so sad. It's so weird how our society has changed because if we're talking 2015, 14, 30, whatever, people were more curious than they were, they definitely were like, what is this is different? This is fun. And now it's more so, we've heard this shit on Fox News nonstop. It's we know what it is. It's bad. And we don't want anything to do with it. And so I'm just like, fuck you. Like I'm out of here. I don't want, I'm not trying to win you over. I want to go where my people are. It used to be like, oh, I saw a lineup with five comedians. The middle one didn't really speak to me much. But it doesn't ruin the whole show. Sure. And maybe you're not the judge during execution of what's funny. Maybe you just didn't like that joke. Whatever. Right. But I never need everything I saw in a lineup of like variety shows. I never need everyone to be my exact flavor. But that's what's hard about like the touring comedian life is that when you do like comedy clubs, there's a lot of people that for a date or whatever would be like, let's go to the comic club. It's always funny. Right. So it doesn't matter who it is, we'll just buy a ticket and go. And then it's whoever is in town for the weekend that is doing stand up there. And usually I think that they leave going. That was really funny. The guy talked about his wife. And I have problems with my wife. So that was funny. You know, my bitch of a wife. Yes. But I love the male jokes that are like my fucking bitch of a wife. Love. Love my bitch of a wife. But then if there's a six foot one translating ostrich feathers, it's a different situation when you're in Oklahoma or whatever. And you know, so that's why I was like, I'd rather just go to gay clubs. At least if they don't like me is because I'm not funny. It's not because. Oh, because when I, I mean, I don't know. You're probably smarter and more developed than me. But when I was younger doing stand up, if I had a bad show, I either completely blamed myself or completely blamed the audience. And now I look back and I'm like, every day is a new batch of people with different life experience. And every day you are giving variations on the same delivery of this shit. Yes. That's really that personal or serious. And you look at the veteran comics and they're like, yeah, I bombed. That was yesterday, whatever. I'm like, I love that. Yeah. You can't be afraid. Right. Do you get, I mean, at least you're all glamorous when you walk up there. How do you powerfully connect to the audience right away? See, but that's what I call being stood about the prom. When you are done up and you're not getting what you want. Like, there's nothing more humiliating. Josie Grocy. Oh, Josie Grocy. Never did they throw the egg at her. Yes. That's me. Okay. No, they don't throw tomatoes at me. You're gay. They throw fake egg like egg beaters. Gay people all garden. They've got gorgeous tomatoes that they bring with them to the comedy show and they chuck them at my head. Right. And they're really uppity about them. Those are fingerling potatoes. Exactly. They're so proud of it too. But wait, what was your question? Oh, do I get scared? No, my question is if it's an audience in, let's say you're in Green Bay, Wisconsin. And you're like, all right, this audience, maybe it's a few of my diehards from socials who know me. Yeah. We're probably in the front. And I love them. And they have blue hair in their wearing Drag Race merch and whatever. They're visually telling you that they're your people. Right. But what about the other people? How do you? I just do the show for those people. I think that's the healthiest thing. I do it for them and everyone else can listen. And that's actually how I do my entire career. I'm talking to LGBT people. Everyone is welcome to listen. I love that. Yeah. That's how I operate. People are always like, for continent, they're like, your fans are like all straight people. I was like, it never crosses our mind. Right. We're still two old vagues talking about being bags. But the audiences now are like, I would say on tour, what do you think? 70% straight people? Yeah. Straight women for sure. Straight women. But the right kind of straight. It's a different. Of course, but I'm never like, oh, it's a bunch of girls tonight. Let's do our girl material. And they know, like, I'm going to talk about sticking things in buttholes. Right. Which we all have. But sticks. Yes. And I'll talk about as many p holes as we need to. Both of them. I'll talk about all of that. And the ladies love it. Have you been to Milwaukee on your tour? I did go on that last one. You did. You did. I think the cactus club. The cactus club. I remember that. That one wasn't a gay officially place, but they're super ally. Oh, yeah. That put a town is super hipstree fun people. Yeah. That was cool. That's a nice place. I'm going to do Lakage. Lakage is fierce girl. Yeah. Lakage is a three level dance complex giant gay club with a huge fucking nice theater upstairs. That's what I've here. That's my dream. And I'm trying to start a a circuit for LGBT comedians to tour the way that drag race girls always did like at gay clubs. Oh, yeah. Places that have a stage addressing room, chairs. It's perfect. It's for stand up. So I've been like trying to find all of the right places and I'm assembling documents that I'm sending to all, you know, comedians that can sell 200 tickets or whatever. And I just think it's so beautiful for like the communities. Everyone's just like laughing and being their gay selves. And we're it's we just I hate to be like now more than ever, we need it. But like we fucking do. We do. It's so nice to have a night where we're all just like having gay fun with each other. I agree. Laughing. It also would be a great companion's show too. Let's say the girls, the house drag queens have a show at 11. Yes. Comics doing a nice hour or 90 would be a great warm-up to that. That's what I do. The audience is half drunk. Everybody wins. A lot of times nowadays, I have high energy lip-syncing trans drag queens open for me. That's my favorite. They get the show going. It's almost like a variety show because it's like we're not just hearing stand-up. I like to give people a break. For sure, I love when there's. I mean, Milwaukee B. Sue drag shows on Wednesdays and it was called an entertainer spotlight and we would have sometimes like this duo would come in and do ballroom dancing. That's so fun. You would have a drag show with a straight girl and a straight guy come out and do their ballroom routines because they were competitive ballroom people but they were super gay friends of ours. They were friends with all gay people. So they would come out and do a ballroom thing. In the context of a drag show, no one is going, "Hey, there's no lip-syncing. This doesn't count." Levels is good. Levels is good. I know what I started, too, is getting tipped. Because I'm doing drag clips. I said, "You know what? I want to make everyone here feel I want to respect the culture of this place." Right. I don't want to come in here and try to change the way that things are usually done. You usually give dollar bills to the performers. So if you hear a good one, I'll put a bucket on stage. You can either throw it or everyone comes up and there was like a few times throughout the show where I'm like, "This one's about to be a money maker." And then they all come up and give me the money. And I was making a couple hundred extra bucks from cash. That's great. That's what I miss about drag more than anything is cash. Can I tell you the best thing about drag? Well, one of the best things about drag and I bet you'll agree. It's like one of the only art forms where you can flat out stare right at someone and say, "Are you going to give me money now?" And they love it. I know. Any other art form, it's like, "You're a sell-out. Drag queens you walk around." And that's the thing where I am a stand up. And I've been a part of the stand up world for all these years. But I'm kind of like, I have different rules. I used to be a drag queen. So I'm allowed to get money and wear rhinestones if I feel like I'm playing it. I'm like this drag hybrid. It's a part of me. For sure. Also, I think of like. El Vira, I think of like characters like that where you're doing this heightened woman thing with the comedy. There's a different level of commanding something in the audience and they're waiting for you to tell them what to do. If you're like, "Get on the floor, bitch." They're like, "Oh, I'll be your commander." I'll be your commander. That's the best song of all time. Commander? Commander is so good. Okay. It's been in my song. It's been in my head for literally weeks now. When you were doing drag drag, did you lip sync? Did it so? Did you do.? Never liked lip syncing, but I did do it. I was always a hostess. So like, I would host brunch. I love to brunch. I love being in bed. Do you live here? I've never done a brunch. I love that. Oh, it was my favorite. Because I would like do brunch and then I would take like a nap like this, you know, and then go do stand up and then I'd usually do another drag gig after. Like, I was like five, six nights a week drag. In LA. Yeah. That was so many opportunities at the time. It was just like, it was amazing. But you know what I tell people? Yes, there's less opportunities for drag now. They think there was five years ago and less and more. But do not underestimate the power of going into a place that currently doesn't have a drag show. Can I do this for like three months? And if it does well, can I start getting paid? Like, or if I find us a sponsor, can we? Because just because there's no existing show at that club on a Tuesday, do not wait for the Wednesday through Sunday girls to throw you a bone. Go start your own fucking show. These 21-year-old drag queens whose friends are all 21, do not wait for these old drag queens to fucking die for you to get a cast spot. Start your own show. Right. And like, that's the shows that really turn me out. Because then you got the fun, cool young drag queens and their friends. People that age are waiting for this big of an excuse to go on. Get drunk. Yeah. I'm doing a drag show. I'll be there. Yeah, that's so exciting. I'm gonna get 40-year-old married guys to go to a drag show. My fucking friends are like, oh god, you're gonna be Milwaukee. You still just have the blonde wig on. I've seen it. Yeah, right. And they're right. Exactly. I, you know, I really like drag right now. More than I haven't a long time. I do too. I love it. I love it. Like, I'm so, I personally am not the, like, for children and for everyone. I mean, I think it's great that that exists, but I am kind of, like, old school. Like, you know, like, I, I, I'm very close with, like, older drag queens, you know, like, Jackie Beade and Coco and Sherry, like, all those people. Yeah. Just cry. Like, I, I like the people that did it before. What it became and are continuing to do it. I'm very inspired by them. Well, that's good because they hate what it's become. So, it's kind of an exchange program. Right. Exactly. It is an exchange program. I love Coco. I, she just told some story about me in a pod from a time she came. She and I had lunch together in a hotel room once when I was like 25. And I went to a hotel room with Coco. She came to my hotel room. You know what? As I told this back, it doesn't sound good. I don't know if I was safe. She wanted it. I thought that was part of it. I lost all this weight and now my boobs are gone. I need to get some fake ones. Do you mean surgical or do you mean like insert? Yeah, I don't, I haven't had surgeries. Oh, okay. Yeah. And I, I need to get me some very big ones. Oh, you're going to go big. I don't know. You let us know in the comments. How big should I go? I really do. Don't ask this audience. They're going to be like, the huge one. Yeah, why not dragging behind you? And we'd like to see the video of the surgery. Please, like our fans, they want to see it. They want you to come back on here. Topless on the Patreon. Just sit here, nude and be like, the surgery went great. Okay, here's, I had this dream. I get like, what do they call? Were you like kind of dreaming? But like, that's when I think a lot. Is it lucid dreaming? Lucid dreaming, I think, maybe I was sitting there and I was thinking about like, because I'm always dealing with haunted objects and shit. People are always like talking about that with me and I go to eBay and find haunted dolls and whatever. And I was like, what have I had haunted breast implants? And then I was thinking, what if it's a movie and what if it was called entities? Like entities. Oh, that's not a lucid dream. That's a stroke of brilliance. Thank you. We might need to cut this. No, no, no one steals it. Netflix is going to make this in four months and they're going to be at it. Oh, no, who's going to play you live that as long as I get the creator? Yes, we can have Selena Gomez is going to play me or, let's see, Jenna Ortega, who's the lady that was on Glee without the bangs. People always tell me, Leah Michelle, people always tell me I look like Leah Michelle. Well, what do you, what? Where I can't go anywhere to that to your face. The people will comment on this video. Oh, it didn't know. Leah Michelle wore blue ostrich feathers. But Leah Michelle, I read those comments. Okay. Listen, she could read my audiobook. It's only audio. Now, do you think audiobooks count as reading? Because I do and Katya doesn't. No. Okay. But the reason that mine is only audio is because I took a recorder with me and I used that audio into whatever with my writing. Oh, so your book is not a written book. No, it is a written book. Oh, but instead of being like, and then Trixie said this and I have to do some weird audio book voice of you. I would play I play a clip. No, because it's like because my temptation would be to do like an impression of the voice. And what does that sound like? Okay. Well, okay. So I would do that. And then Brandon has an impersonation of me. He does. He does like a really breathy voice like that. That sounds like Amanda. I can't do impressions. That's good, though, because I love bad impressions. So I think I should really give me someone. Do share. Oh, Scooby-Doo. That's Scooby-Doo. Scooby-Doo. That's Scooby-Doo. Brittany Spears. Hi. See, I like I don't even I it's not even worth that. Well, and you also you're with me and you know, people love my dialect work and my character study and you're very good and very rooted in reality. You are. I bet Zora Larsen really recently, and I was like, so when I do this, my Swedish sister. And I don't think she knows that I perpetuate that I'm from Sweden. So she was just like, what? And then I hold right home. I was like, never ending me at night's song. Because to me, that's Swedish. That was Swedish. I've traveled a lot. Have you been to Sweden? No, well, I haven't been anywhere. I haven't been anywhere. Wait, where do you like the most set of everywhere you've been? Honestly, Sweden's up there. As I'm traveling more, tell me where I need to go. Have you been to Mexico? Oh, yeah. Mexico's cool. Have you been to where? Oh, Mexico City. Of course. Of course. It was awesome. I do a lot of gay cruises at all. Go to Mexico. One of my dreams is to do a cruise. If I ever get to do a cruise, would you come on? - Yeah. - Can we cruise? - No, to do a Trixie cruise. - Oh my God, that would be so fun. - All my Trixie universe, get all the girls, and we all go on there and we do drag shows one night, a pool beach party, then we have a standup showcase, then maybe we do-- - I love cruises. - Then we can-- - Rosh can host brunch. - Rosh can host brunch. - Please? - Let me do it, please, I'll do it for free. You don't have to pay me. - If we got like you, like Nicole, like a bunch of the, the, the Santa people so you guys could do a proper show one night, and then people could come see me DJs, the after part, like we could do, or you know what else I'd love to do, some kind of drag competition that takes place on the boat, that the people who are coming are competing, and then they win a title of like the cruise. - That's fun, that's what my current tour right now, I'm doing my podcast ghosted, and I decided to turn it into an audience ghost story competition, so-- - Fearless. - It's like a, it's like a spelling beat, like we like set up a microphone and then I call people's names, they put it in a bucket, and they come up, and they try to dazzle us with their ghost story, and then we vote for who's got the best ghost story. - I-- - Isn't that fun? We've been doing it in gay bars, and I'm about to do 18 cities by myself again. No book this time. - Where can people get tickets? - Oh, Ross Hernandez tour.com. - Ross Hernandez tour, you guys Ross is so amazing, and I know that you're hilarious, but I have to say-- - I haven't really shown that today, I apologize. - No, but you're also so, listen, comedy sells, but sex sells, and you are so gorgeous, and I'm really-- - Really? - Are you kidding? Do you know how much I love your hair? I've always wanted to do, the only person I know who does it is share the little-- - These things, yeah. - I have some lady bunny, but in blonde, they look like lady bunny. - No, I call these my drive-thru window headsets. (laughing) - It totally is that. - Excuse me, did you want horsey sauce with that? - It's like the front half of the Velma Kelly wig. - Yeah, very much, yes, yeah, very much. - You cut that off, you glued it to a pony. - I love these things, these things have changed my life. - They're gorgeous. Do they give you um, 'cause some girls get like, would you have bangs like that? Sometimes people, it gives them breakouts, the hair resting on the face. Do you get breakouts from it or no? - I don't know, you tell me. - Not at all, not a poor. But some people when they get bangs for the first time, they find out their hair oil gives them. - Oh girl, I don't know what the fuck is going on under there. - We don't move. - That is none of my business. There's a lot of things that could be under there that I don't know about, and I don't want to. I sometimes have been outside in a gust of wind comes, and I'm looking at myself in like a window or whatever, and it's like, can't look anymore, I don't want to know. - Well, I actually have a different outfit to put on for the last half of the interview, would you be open to that? - You have a different outfit. - Yeah, I need you to close your eyes. Okay. - I'm really excited that you're changing. - Oh yeah, don't look, don't look, don't look. - Okay. Yeah, so I'm going to, oh my God, so many cities, and yeah, it's Ross Hernandez to word.com. My audio book, which is all about me being a transgender comedian in America trying to find my audience, that is called "Ping and an Empty Bottle," and it's available everywhere you get audio books. My podcast is called "Ghosted" by Ross Hernandez. I have lots of like drag queens and queer people, celebrities, all kinds of people. We talk about ghosts. Oh, Ross Hernandez is the haunted doll, is my YouTube channel where I stay in haunted hotel rooms with guys I meet on Grindr. Oh, I have an advice podcast called "For a Good Time" called "Ross." - Okay. - I'm back. - Oh my God. - What do you think? - You look so cute. You have just a sheet on now. - You know, I couldn't find this. Do you want to know why? 'Cause I used this for my upcoming Halloween special, and my housekeeper folded it up and put it in the linen closet. She thought it was an estate. I was like, "Where the fuck did she put this?" I went, "You know what?" She probably thought it was a bed sheet, and I went up there, it was sitting in the bed sheets. - But you know what I love about it? Just like Michael Henry's friend, two holes. - Two holes. - Two holes. - Totally. So I have a bunch of questions for you, and these are gonna be rapid fire. - Okay. - We never do anything fun like this, but when I go on, other people's ponds, we do some kind of rapid fire game, and I think it's so fun. - Oh yeah, just wait 'til you go on mine. - And being friends-- - Two years later. - I will. - Tracy, respond to my people. - Tracy. - I'll do it. - I'll figure it out. - Is Tracy who I should be mad at? - Yeah, that's Tracy. - No. - No, I mean, you can be mad at her if you want. - No, I'm so happy. Tracy's the one that called me about those-- - Tracy eats. - This is my-- - It thinks. - That's what it says on the phone. - You are not. - Thank you. - Stop, stop, stop. - This is a very big deal for me. I really appreciate those. - I was like, "Do you think we could get Ross?" I think you're exactly what you're saying. Halfway across the country, driving your own tours. I'm like, "I don't know what she's up right now." - I do. - I don't know, girl, her car's broken down on the side of a mountain. Let's see if she's available. - Seriously, that could be the case. - Okay, let's go. - Which LA gay bar would you want to haunt? - Hack bar. - As a ghost. - Hack bar. - So whatever that question was going to be, it was Hack bar. - I love Hack bar. - Which LA bar would you burn to the ground and you said Hack bar? - No, no. I wouldn't do that. But you didn't. - I love Hack bar, too. I was just there. - They have the best standup show that a lot of people have no clue that it's a free standup show. - It's amazing. - On Tuesday nights, it's my favorite place to work on new material. I've seen Wanda Sykes in that room, Forge, like it's amazing. - Yeah, I've done it, Brandon's done it. I've gone and said, "It's really good and not that long." - Yeah, it's perfect. - Gay people don't hold you hostage. - Yeah. - All right, what are the requirements for you to have someone join you on a ghost hunt? - Well, since I only find them on Grindr, I prefer gay guys or dolls though. I haven't yet been able to confirm a doll. I don't want any like DL looking for, it's just too weird. - Yeah. - I've considered, that's what a lot of people want me to do, but I'm like, you don't. It's, those guys are not funny. - They're not funny. - And they're just trying to fuck me the whole time. - They are uncomfortable. - Yeah. - If they're trying to be DL, why would they come on camera with you to hunt a ghost? - Exactly. - What do we do blur out their face? - Exactly. - So no. Well, when did you know you were funny? - Jerry's still out, and when did you decide? - When I was a little child, wait, I could tell you. When I was a child, when I was a child, I used to make up fake jokes. I would stand on my mantle fireplace and I would make jokes. And the one that really hit was, what did the lamps say to the light bulb? You really turned me on and everybody died laughing and I didn't know why, but it was, so that became my joke when I was like, five. - You were killing it. - Actually, this was like last year. That was like my best joke I've ever written. Okay, sorry. - But you are up in fire. - But I like, now you're trying to paint the picture that you were a child last year. Maybe you were. - No, I definitely wasn't. - Oh, and when did you decide to dedicate your life to having bangs? - 2021, my whole life started then. - You have a new series called "For a Good Time" called "Raz", now available on YouTube and Patreon. For a bad time, who should they call? - Oh, Tracy, I don't know. She's right there, I don't know. Let's pick a drag race queen and let's say it on the count of three. - Oh, a drag race queen, that's a bad time. - Yeah, one, two, three. - Willum. - Oh. - Oh, Willum. - Willum's not a bad time. - No, but you said it too. So just cut it together so we both said, Willum. Okay, great. If you had an endless budget, where would you want to go? Check out hauntings in next. - England. - Oh, fears. - Yeah, everything's haunted in England. - 'Cause it's old. - Yeah. - Yeah. - You know, stuff here's not that old. It's like one bird. - But you know, old doesn't equal haunted. That's one of the biggest myths we all have. - Oh. - You can be in haunted. This place is probably haunted. - It is now. - Boo. - Okay, do you think we'll start seeing crocs and calf tans on the runway? - I hope. I'm all about the comfort. If you can keep it cute for yourself. - You would look great in like a train of turk. - I love train of turk. - I love. - Some of my favorite items I own are train of turk. - Me too, so comfortable. - Yeah. - Great prints too. Is there anyone you would want to summon? If you could talk to a ghost. - Like someone that's dead, who would I want to talk to? - Probably divine. - I want to love that. - Yeah, wouldn't that be fun? - Yeah, what do you think? I think she'd be like, girl, this world is about good thing I left when I did. - No, absolutely. - And then finally, this is crazy. Your audiobook is called "Ping in an Empty Bottle." - Yeah. - "Can you describe the bottle?" - Well, I think it depends on what you got going on down there, but it does seem like two holes, three holes, no matter what you have. Like a gatorade is probably, it's got the widest mouth. - I peed in a bottle once and it was a gatorade bottle. - You've only peed in a bottle once? - I was driving my smart car in college and I had to pee so bad and didn't want to stop driving. And I forgot later that it was pee in there and I took a sip. - Well, that's how my audiobook ends. - Okay, shit, that literally did happen to me. - There are no new experiences. - We have one last segment. If you want to not be a ghost. - Oh sure, yeah, yeah. - Okay, of course, hold on. - So for the last segment, I think that maybe you would want to put on a bald cap or I can in support of Katia. - Oh, of course. - So maybe, which bald cap would you like? Four-way caps? - I would, yeah, maybe I'll do this wig. - I'll do the bald cap. - I don't want to mess up your hair. - No. - I doubt this will mess up my hair at all. (laughing) - Now I'm going to put the wig, okay. the bottom. I can tell you okay here we go. I mean yeah you could just put on this. These look like footies for trying on women's shoes. You don't have to shove that over your head. That's so awful. I'm sorry. You just hold. Oh I love that. Yes. Yes. Okay great. Okay so this isn't solidarity. Oh god. Oh no. No. No. No. Katia we stand with you. No we don't matter what Katia I'm so sorry that you couldn't be here today. We love you Katia. So Katia's Audi. So if you could pick one of these from the bald cap you have to do one of these as if Katia as a Katia. You look insane girl but actually still gorge. Really? Yeah. You guys are so sweet. Okay what do you want me to? Okay it's a hundred degrees outside and your air conditioning broke. Who is the first first and you call? You want me to answer that question? We're answering as Katia. Oh if the air conditioning broke. God I guess I don't know who she calls in the situations like this. You probably call me. What she call you? Yeah Mary. Mary. Yeah. No she'd be that bitch would be at a five star hotel in ten minutes. No no interest in heat or discomfort. Yes. Yeah me saying. All right she was a love it. All right. That's it. It's a new game we just started. We don't know if it's working. You guys thank you so much to Roz and we'll see you very soon. Goodbye. Thank you.
