This is why it was in his hand. He never pointed the weapon at Andy. Rick had no justification to use deadly force against him. This brings me to the question, despite the verdict was Rick actually guilty of murder. Let's take a look at the evidence both for and against the idea that he was guilty starting with the inculpatory factors. The state produced several witnesses who essentially is not crazy that he spent three years in jail and he was found not guilty. That's wild. I would sue the state if I were him. Rick said, drop it before firing his weapon. The state did produce several witnesses who said that Cyrus was not carrying a gun, but they did not see the final part of the confrontation. Rick and Andy did not claim the gun was visible before Cyrus fell to the ground. They only saw it after he fell. The state admitted that the gun did come out and that Cyrus reached for it. They argued that Cyrus was only trying to pick up the gun and then continue his escape. But it's not 2020 hindsight. Anyone with common sense is if you're chasing someone and they fall and the gun pops out and they reach for it, you would assume, oh, he's in a vulnerable position. He reached for his gun. He's going to shoot me. So what are you going to do? That's reasonable, man. Now obviously we don't know what Cyrus's intention was. He might have been just trying to pick it up and run because he didn't want to get caught with the gun. But a reasonable person could believe that as someone's on the floor reaching for a gun and you're closing the distance on them, that they're going to use that gun on you. He did not point the weapon at anyone. Despite this claim, the state did not have witnesses or video to refute the testimony of Rick and Andy, who again said they both saw Cyrus pointing the gun. The state made it seem like Rick intentionally killed Cyrus. The defense argued that if Rick wanted to kill him, why didn't he shoot earlier in the confrontation? That's a good point. That's a good point. If the goal the whole time was to just kill him, why wait? Why wait until the men had run almost 400 feet in the state of South Carolina, a merchant who suspects that someone has shoplifted is allowed to chase and detain them for the very important shot. So he was acting because I know some of you guys are like, oh, well, what the fuck doesn't self defense not protect the person that closes the distance? Yes. In most cases, yes. But in South Carolina, a merchant does have the right to chase you down or at least, or maybe at least pursue you to a reasonable degree. Okay. To get his items. Okay. And you can presume with how this nigga was acting when he walked into the store, picking up four water bottles, putting it back, you know, all this shit that he might have stole when he ran out of there. The purposes of investigating ownership of the merchandise, as long as there was reasonable cause to believe the person had shoplifted. The law does not require the merchant to be correct, just to have reasonable cause. The fact that Cyrus did not shoplift does not automatically mean that Rick was not justified in attempting to detain him, apprehending a person who was not shoplifting is usually a civil matter, not a criminal matter. This means that Rick was not engaged in unlawful activity during the confrontation with Cyrus. Similarly, Andy was not engaged in unlawful activity. Both men had the right to pursue, which was confirmed by a police officer who testified during the trial. One could argue that Rick retained his right to use lethal force in self-defense or in defense of another. Cyrus did not have the right to point the weapon. A person who is being falsely accused of shoplifting does not gain the right to point a gun at a merchant merely to avoid being stopped, questioned, or detained in a reasonable manner. If Cyrus did point the weapon, as Rick and Andy said, then Cyrus committed a crime. He placed Rick and Andy in fear for their lives. When considering all the evidence in this case, do I believe that Rick Chow was guilty of murder? No. In my opinion, he was not guilty. The jury made the right decision when they acquitted him. And again, because he's a merchant, it's a bit different than a normal self-defense case. But do I think happened in this case? This is just a theory, my opinion. Rick Chow operated a store in an area where there were a lot of shoplifters. Andy had been in a lot of confrontations before. He was sensitive to the theft problem because it led to him losing a lot of money. He and his family members were very vigilant about theft activity. He's got to be losing thousands of dollars a month and merchandise being stolen in shortages. When Cyrus entered the store on May 28, 2023, he caught the attention of Rick's wife and Rick's son. Cyrus was behaving in a suspicious manner. As I mentioned, it's unclear what his intent was, but he did not have any money to make a purchase, and he was illegally concealing a pistol. That's crazy, dude. The trial. 14-year-old concealing a pistol goes into a store with no money. You can make the argument that he had nefarious intentions. The crime lab slowed down this clip, it shows them running between parked cars as Rosenbaum nearly reaches Rittenhouse. He spins and shoots. You can see the puff of smoke from the AR-15. The man who appears to be Joseph Rosenbaum, one of the shooting victims, Clash with stumble and f*cking house can be seen standing by the bottom. Appearance to be Rittenhouse continues running. Seconds later, he comes back into view, and bystanders arrive to help the victim. Rittenhouse can be seen standing by the body, making a phone call. As more people arrive, he runs away out of frame and someone seems to be heard saying, "I shot somebody." At 11.49, multiple videos show Rittenhouse running down the street. Someone boom hits him in the head. The pursuer tries to hit him. Rittenhouse is being chased by several people when he appears to stumble and fall to the ground. Okay, here he is on the floor, now he's in a vulnerable position, right? While on the ground, boom. We say he fires at least four shots, striking two people. Anthony Huber is shot and lies motionless in the street. Yeah, I think he died almost instantly. Gage gross crates is shot in the arm and appears to be holding a handgun according to the criminal complaint. Rittenhouse gets up and runs down the street as police arrives. Hand was over the barrel of Mr. Rittenhouse's gun when his hand was shot. That makes sense. Prosecutors played this newly seen drone video slowed down by half, showing Joseph Rosenbaum chasing Kyle Rittenhouse and a clearer image of their contacts seconds before Rittenhouse fired four times from his AR-15. Your theory or your belief to a reasonable degree of medical certainty is that he's in a horizontal position close to my client, the bullet goes in and across and down. That's correct. Okay, so once again, in the position of lunging, we put you in a horizontal position, correct? It would. But prosecutors say it was Rittenhouse's first shot that knocked Rosenbaum over, prompting the fatal shot to his back. So if Mr. Rosenbaum was struck in the hip, they have to say he's been mentioned kept carrying him forward. He was falling. The other three shots could have been as he was falling. That's that's possible too. It's consistent with that. It is. Rittenhouse sometimes struggled several times, refusing to look up as graphic autopsy photos sat on the screen for jurors to take in. Two more people who patrolled with Rittenhouse that night described seeing the teen after he'd killed two men, posthumous courtroom recreation of Joseph Rosenbaum's. Okay. Rick approached the scene at this time, ordered Cyrus to drop the gun, then fired a single shot from his guac pistol, striking Cyrus in the back. The reason Rick discharged his weapon was to protect his son Andy. It was lawful self-defense. Despite this, the police did not like Rick's behavior. They knew that chasing Cyrus was perfectly legal, but it still left them upset because of the long distance involved. And maybe they might not. In closing arguments, the prosecutor admitted that Cyrus had placed his hand on the Torres pistol. He also focused on the pursuit implying that it was somehow wrong. Rick's defense attorney delivered one of the best closing arguments I have ever seen. He used the prosecutors own words against him and demolished the state's case. I'm moving to my final thoughts. Despite my belief that Rick was not guilty, his actions on the day of the shooting were very unwise. Rick should have directed Andy to discontinue the pursuit. Chasing Cyrus far away from the store put the men in a challenging position. The farther away a merchant gets from his store, the more his rights weaken. It's better just to call the police and let them handle it. The not guilty verdict does not mean the Rick did not suffer. He lost three years of his life and is facing a civil lawsuit. As far as the behavior of Cyrus, he was also very unwise. He had no right to possess a firearm. He should not have even touched a gun, much less concealed it and carried it into the store. When he pointed the gun, Cyrus probably believed he was now in charge. He was a tough guy. He was handling the situation like a hardened criminal. What he did not count on was the determination of Rick to defend his son's life. If Cyrus had killed Andy, the state would have charged him with murder and told the jury how Cyrus was a horrible offender who went there that day looking for trouble. It appears as though the state's position is to prosecute whoever survives the gunfight. This policy is as offensive as it is illogical. Those are my thoughts in the case of Rick Chow. It'll be underground. It's not going to be above ground. And that way, the know the time and the place roughly, they'll give a general to coordinate. And then when the, when a detonates, it's going to set off seismic shocks. That way the United States knows nobody can predict a seismic shock at a precise time. That, so that's a way that you can confirm. Yeah, they, they, they, they. that made it a new or something that could create this seismic shock that was recorded around the world. And what we exactly, what we would see is earthquake reported in Western Iran or something. Mm hmm. You know that. Exactly. Now, you guys, so let's talk about nuclear weapons and what their purposes. Nuclear weapons guys. Okay. The goal is to never actually use them. Okay. I think after World War II, we all figured out that using a nuclear bomb is probably not a good idea. Nuclear bombs are all about deterrence, okay? And to give you guys a quick little history lesson here on this. Back in the early 2000s, Olli Commandy, the former Supreme Leader, okay, issued a fatwa. A fatwa was basically like a religious decree. And basically, what he said was is that we will not get a nuclear weapon, okay? Because typically we're going to use a nuclear weapon, you know, can easily kill innocent people, not combats, et cetera. And he issued a fatwa. I think in like 2003 to 2005, somewhere in the early 2000s, right? And instead, what Iran focused on was having a multi-pronged defense system. One day of the proxies has Bola, Hamas, the Houthis, the population, the mobilization forces out of a popular mobilization force out of Iraq and a couple of the Iraqi militias. Obviously, the Bashar al-Assad regime. And they had these proxies. Then they had their ballistic missile program, which is extremely powerful, right? Then they had their nuclear program. But what Iran would do since we pulled out of the JCPOA or AK, the original Iran nuclear deal is they would enrich at a higher level, a higher level to be a threshold, okay? It would be a threshold state. So basically, this is what Iran did. What they did was this. We're going to maintain a nuclear program for energy. But since you guys pulled out of the JCPOA, we're also going to enrich to a higher level so that you guys know that we're capable of getting a nuke. We cannot enrich to weapons grade level, which is 90 percent. And they enriched to 60 percent, okay? But it's important for you guys to realize that they didn't enrich at this high level until after we pulled out of the JCPOA, after we imposed crippling sanctions on them, after we made the IRGC a terrorist organization, right? So all this happened after we didn't hold up our end of the deal. The IEA was there, even Tossi Gabbard famously, when it testified last year under oath that at this point Iran was not necessarily making a nuclear bomb, though they did have enriched uranium, right? And then we did Operation Midnight Hammer and we destroyed or obliterated his Donald Trump would say, we obliterated their nuclear program. You guys remember that last year? So when I say that Iran was operating as a threshold state, what do I mean by that is this? Think of yourself like, let's say you got an enemy, right? You got an enemy. You have a handgun here and then you have ammunition over here. You purposely keep the two separate, right? So you can't actually shoot the individual, however, if need be, if the individual points they're going at you or motions of point they're going at you, you can quickly load it, pull the slide and be ready to engage. That is what a threshold state basically is. Give me once in a child that makes sense. You don't have a nuke, but you can potentially build one and use it if needed, right? And the reason why that they maintain this, this, this threshold status is because if you have the nuke, right, you're going to draw a lot of unwanted attention and aggression from the West, right? And put yourself in a very bad position sanction wise, but at the same time, you don't want to have, you don't want to be completely disarmed of a nuclear capability because then they're going to attack you anyway. So like on one end, right? It's like guaranteed aggression. If you get it run the other end, it's going to be, how do I say this, indirect aggression or potentially direct aggression if you somewhat maintain it or don't have it at all. So this is why Iran tried to stay in the middle ground and what they used, what they used was the threshold status to use that to negotiate. It was a negotiating chip for them. Obviously the negotiator didn't work and we're here now. But this guy got killed on February 28th, the first day of the war, okay? And his son took over and his son is a much bigger hardliner than Ali Khmerni. So I'm willing to bet after his father was killed, right? Because he had this order that we will not have nuclear weapons. I'm willing to bet that he probably rescinded that Fatoa and started the process of building the nuclear bomb.
