Retired Military Leaders Warn of National Security Risks as Missile Shortages Mount

This episode of the Midas Touch podcast blends personal wellness, geopolitical analysis, and political criticism. It promotes WHOOP as a simple, effective wearable that offers deep health insights without constant notifications, helping users make informed lifestyle decisions. The core narrative centers on allegations of political sabotage, including the abrupt shutdown of Starshield—a critical communication system for Ukrainian drones—during a tense conflict. The host claims this action, allegedly orchestrated by the Trump administration or Elon Musk, undermines military operations and reveals a pattern of political overreach. They argue that this move reflects broader misconduct, including the dismissal of trusted military leaders like Admiral Brad Cooper and the undermining of U.S. defense strategy. The host further criticizes the Trump administration for waiving key sanctions on Russia and Iran, calling it a sign of weakness and an act of appeasement. They condemn Trump and Pete Hegseth as war criminals, urging Democratic candidates to hand them over to international courts. The episode also features promotional content for the book *WTF America* and the business software Odoo, which streamlines operations through automation. Throughout, the tone is urgent, critical, and aims to inform listeners about what the host sees as a dangerous trajectory in U.S. foreign policy and military leadership.

This episode of the Midas Touch podcast is brought to you by WHOOP, the wearable health and fitness coach that gives you personalized insights into your sleep, recovery, strain, stress, and overall health. Listen, I've tried a bunch of wearables and I found a lot of them to be so overwhelming. I don't need another screen constantly tapping me, pinging me, and sending me notifications. But that's what I love about WHOOP. The WHOOP 5.0 wearable is screenless, so it just sits quietly on my wrist collecting data. Whenever I want, I can open the companion app and get this incredibly detailed picture of what's happening with my body and actually use that information to make proactive decisions. And with a one-year-old, sleep has become a bit of a luxury. WHOOP helps me pinpoint the things that are actually affecting me. Did that 4 p.m. cup of coffee hurt my sleep? Did that run on the treadmill bring down my stress? How well am I actually recovering? WHOOP gives me a full picture of my health without overloading me, and it's helped me build a healthier routine around what my body is actually telling me. To learn more, head to WHOOP.com and join today to get your first month free. That's WHOOP.com. Thank you so much for tuning in. I'll see you next time. General Randy George warned back in December, we are now learning, December of 2025, that critical Patriot and THAAD missile defense interceptor shortages would persist until 2030. And if the Trump regime just went alone with Israel and launched this catastrophic war in Iran, precisely the consequences we are seeing right now would happen. And guess what? They are happening. Pete Hegseth and Donald Trump are going to be the first ones to be in Iran. They are going to be the first ones to be in Iran. in Iran right now. Now, he or he talks about the Trump regime shutting down or throttling, I should say, which for all intensive purposes is shutting down Ukrainian access to Starlink or Starshield that the drones link up to. And if the drones would go above 100 miles per hour, Starshield would shut down and the drones would become ineffective and the drone interceptors would become ineffective. They all travel up above 100 miles per hour. Here's what Hertling has to say. Play this clip. I don't want to be a conspiracy theorist, Katie, but here's the thing. Mr. Musk has done this before. Several months ago, he shut down the Starshield on his own volition because he didn't like what President Zelensky was doing. So you combine that with the fact that the president on the 12th of October said that he demanded a ceasefire from both Russia and Ukraine, and neither one had heard that he had demanded this. So this was him just making it up and saying you can't hit any oil energy reserves. And I guess that was for our citizens' understanding that he was trying to work his way up to improve gas prices, I guess. So when both Zelensky and Putin said, no, we're continuing the attacks, and they did, on the 13th, there was significant launches from both Russia toward Ukraine and Ukraine toward Ukraine, which created, the Ukrainian ones created significant damage in several refineries, and it hit the, I'll just call it the Google equivalent of a Russian data center. That's right, the data center. Yeah. All those Russian bots went bye-bye. Yes. Yeah. And when that happened, President Trump was probably embarrassed because he had told the world that he had just told both of them to knock it off, and they're continuing to do it. And it was right after that that Starshield was shut down. Starshield goes down. I didn't realize how much water quality could affect your skin and hair until I switched to Jolie. Jolie is a filtered showerhead designed to remove chlorine and heavy metals that can damage your skin and hair. And it's such an easy upgrade. It installs in minutes, fits all showers, and the water pressure is amazing. For me, Jolie has become the perfect base for my routine. My skin feels calmer, my hair feels softer, and it made me realize that if the water you're starting with isn't right, everything's going to be okay. And I think that's what's going to happen. And I think everything you're putting on your skin and hair after is already working at a disadvantage. Plus, it looks great. It's sleek, it elevates the whole shower, and it makes me feel a little more like I'm in a luxury hotel. Try Jolie risk-free for 60 days by going to JolieSkinCo.com/Midas. That's JolieSkinCo.com/Midas. M-E-I-D-A-S. Jolie is also now available in Costco and Target, both online and in-store. More from Hertling about the battlefield communications. Play this clip. What you have to understand is those screens are providing command and control information for incoming missiles to Ukraine, for outgoing attacks that Ukraine is executing. It links as a control system to some types of tethered drones. So what you're seeing, and it even drives the point home, when that star shield goes down, the screen goes black. You don't know what's coming at you. You don't know where the things you've launched are going. And it creates just a dynamic on the battlefield for the commander that they lose common situational awareness and people will die. And folks, as the Trump regime has purged our top generals and admirals, they basically are left with sycophants. There are some good people still, and let me be very clear. There are still some really good generals and admirals who are putting their head down and trying to survive. We hear you. We hear you. We hear from a lot of military families at the Midas Touch Network. We support you. We stand with you. We know what you're going through. We're trying to shed a light on all of this. And our condemnation is to the Trump regime, who has so recklessly and callously dealt with the military in these horrific ways. And that's one of the reasons why we reported on the Abraham Lincoln and the Gerald Ford. And we were reporting what the families were telling us, out of a sense of patriotism and duty. And the opposition to the catastrophic war in Iran is out of patriotism, out of duty, out of a love for this country to stand up against an unjust, unlawful, catastrophic war. And Donald Trump is a demented psychopath covering up child sex trafficking rings, who he himself was found civilly liable for sexual assault. He's on audio bragging about sexually assaulting women. And he's on audio bragging about sexually assaulting women. And grabbing their genitals because he's rich. And he says, you get away with it. And then he said, that's locker room talk. And that's how men talk. No, that's how scumbag sex predators talk, like you, Donald, because that's exactly who you are, adjudicated to be so in a federal civil case, by the way. So I just want to point that out there. I digress. But I want to talk about over here, is that you have the CENTCOM commander, Admiral Brad Cooper, who has no credibility, credibility anymore. This guy, this guy was once a rising star in the military. He was an admiral that people respected. And now he's just viewed as a loser. He's viewed as a liar. He's viewed as one of the reasons why the United States military has been ruined. I mean, you see this guy's video he did yesterday. He looks sweaty and nervous and he's there and he's like, we're getting so much oil out, 400 ships, a hundred million barrels. He's making up stuff. Like, dude, are you paying attention to what's happening in the Strait of Hormuz? Do you not see these tankers getting hit day after day after day? Anyway, here's what he says. Play this clip. Let me be clear. The Strait of Hormuz is controlled by the United States and our regional partners, not Iran. And it remains open for business. Over the last seven days alone, about 400 merchant ships have been destroyed. The U.S. forces have also assisted Gulf partners in shipping over 100 million barrels of crude oil during the same period, adding to the more than 1.3 billion barrels of crude we have helped regional allies ship through the Strait in recent months. None of this would be possible without the bravery, dedication, and professionalism of America's men and women in uniform who continue to do tremendous work each and every day. I couldn't be prouder of their efforts, and I know the American people share in that same pride. To all our service members, stay focused, keep up the great work. Thanks so much. With all of this as background, of course, with all of this as background, what else do we have right over here? Well, Friday night, the Trump regime posts an executive order implementing the Lindsey Graham Sanctioning Russia and Iran Act. So how did the Trump regime implement it? By waiving it. The Trump regime issued an executive order saying, "We are waiving the sanctions and tariffs targeting Russia under the Lindsey Graham Russia and Iran Sanctions Act." You see it right here. As described further in Section 4, "I am hereby waiving the application of such sanctions," Donald Trump says, "and duties provided for in the Graham Act." Richard Blumenthal, the co-author of the bipartisan Lindsey Graham Sanctions Act, said, "These waivers have nothing to do with our national security and everything to do with sucking up to Putin. I hope my Republican colleagues will join me in condemning this craven and cowardly action." The Russia envoy to the United States, Kirill Dmitriev, who also is the leader of Russia's sovereign wealth fund, he says, "The U.S.-Russia economic dialogue and peacemaking efforts will continue." Then he praises the suspension of the Lindsey Graham Sanctions Act just to show you how cowardly and callous Donald Trump is as well. When Trump was asked in front of the White House yesterday, he was asked, "Was it you or Elon Musk who decided to temporarily pause Starlink access?" Own it, man. If you're a tough guy, if you're Putin's guy, as Kirill Dmitriev and Putin and Lavrov said, then just own it. That's who you are. But he's like, "No, I didn't do it. Musk didn't do it. We didn't do it. Look, we all know you did it. Just admit it. Just say you did it. This is my whole thing with this guy, too, is that he's weak and he's a loser. He files $10 billion lawsuits, and then you subpoena him for his deposition. Oh, I don't want to show up to the deposition. Oh, I'm not going to do that. Oh, really?" You do Operation Epic Fury. Iran responds because, "I'm not going to do that. I'm not going to do that." You invade their country, and then you're like, "Oh, they want to make a deal." It's like, "You want to fight? You want to fight me? You want to fight me?" While you're moving away, it's like you launched a catastrophic war, and now your strategy is to pretend you're doing deals when they're not talking to you, and they're striking tanker after tanker and to have CENTCOM pretend they're a deal. Even if you are a neocon warmonger, I won't respect if you are, and you're like, "We should invade." You think him doing like, "Oh, you want to fight? You want to fight? We're doing a deal?" You think that that's tough? That's your neocon vision? Is that for real? Let me be very clear. I'm against this whole war. And I think Trump's a war criminal. I think Hegsett's a war criminal. They're all war criminals in my view that they should be tried at the Hague. I made it very clear in my position that any Democratic presidential candidate must say day one, they hand over Donald Trump and Hegsett to the Hague. The dogs agree. The dogs agree with that. Anyway, before they keep on barking, let's play the clip of Trump. Let's play it. Wasn't you or was it Elon Musk who decided to temporarily pause Starlink access for the Ukrainian military? Well, I don't know if it was anybody because it wasn't me. And I don't think it was Elon. And from what I understand, it's the same as it's always been. One more thing I want to point out. I was like on a flow and then the dog started barking. WTF America. It's out on Tuesday. It's the book I wrote with my brothers. Okay. I don't have to say pre-order now. Starshield was shut down shortly after the 13th of October, when both Russia and Ukraine launched attacks. This disruption affected drone operations and battlefield situational awareness, as the system that links to command centers went dark.

Elon Musk and the Trump regime are both implicated. The transcript suggests Musk shut down Starshield due to disagreement with President Zelensky, while Trump's actions may have been influenced by political motives to pressure Ukraine or raise gas prices.

Cooper claims the Strait is under U.S. control and that 400 ships were destroyed there, contradicting reports of ongoing attacks. Critics argue his statements are misleading and lack credibility, especially given the visible tanker attacks reported in the region.

The waiver suggests a shift in U.S. policy toward Russia and Iran, with critics claiming it's a sign of appeasement and political cowardice rather than national security concerns.
