Are you looking for a tool to help you meditate, to help you calm your anxious thoughts, to help you connect with God, a routine that you can do that will help you manage your mind, regulate your nervous system, and be transformed like Romans 12 to by renewing the way you think. If so, or if you didn't even know you needed it, but you're ready to try it, this episode is for you. This is a Christian meditation that is rooted in God's word, and neuroscience principles to help you renew your mind, rewire your brain, and transform your life. Are you motivated, purpose driven, and want to live intentionally, but struggle to stay consistent with your goals? Do you feel like you were made for more, but often get stuck over thinking and second guessing? Well, you're in the right place. Welcome to Personal Growth for Christians. I'm Renee Boo, and I was there too. That is why I spent years studying the psychology of behavior change and became a certified brain-based life coach. In this podcast, we'll use strategies based in neuroscience and God's word to empower you to break free from frustrations, manage your mind and create a life of purpose and intention. It's time to get unstuck, thrive in every area of your life, and step into the abundant life you were made for. Hey, welcome to the podcast. I cannot wait to dive into today's meditation, but if you are new, I want to just give you a little bit of context of what this is. If you aren't new and you've been here for a while, because yes, this is a series of episodes, and I think we're in episode, I think this is week seven. So if you're not new, you can just fast forward to get to the starting place, because I'm just going to give us the framework and then we're going to get started. But if you're new, welcome. I'm so honored that you're here, and this series is to help you transform the way you live, because this is taking the Romans 12 to verse that we're not to conform to patterns of this world, but to be transformed by renewing the way we think, and combine it with neuroscience, which says that our brains can heal and change and adapt and grow new neuropathways. And it is taking all of that and making it very practical and doing that for you while you participate. So if you want to know more about how, by like what, behind the scenes of why we're doing this, from a biblical standpoint and the neuroscience goodness that explains why this all matters, I explained it in detail in episode 65. You can go, listen to that one first, if you want to know the why behind all of it, if you're like me and you're like, okay, that sounds nice and fluffy. Tell me why I did all that for you in episode 65. So you can check that one out. Also, if you would like, I have a companion that goes with this podcast episode, all of these series. So you can go and download this. It's a PDF and you can print it or just look at it on your phone and it walks you through step by step each section that will do and it tells you why we do that section. So you can see it and follow along that way if you are a visual person like me. So if you want that, you can go to rnebu.com/renew. Renebu is R-E-N-E-E-B-O-O-E.com/review. Download that and follow along with me as you watch on the PDF. Now, these work best if you do them repetitively. Just listening to one brain prime meditation is not going to, it'll help you, you'll feel good today, but it's not going to do the brain science stuff of rewiring and new neuroplasticity because that takes about 63 days to rewrite a neuro pathway. So you're going to want to do this consistently. So how we do that is every Sunday, there will be a new brain prime that drops brain prime meditation. Listen to it all week. Every day, this week, I want you to listen to this episode. And if it's not this one, go back and listen to a different one. Now, they all are foundationally the same, but every week I follow the Lord in Holy Spirit and what he's saying. And some weeks have been a little different. Like last weeks was very different. So if you listen to that, it's not some of the things in the PDF are there, but not all of them. Last week was highly focused on identity, and we're going to do a little bit more of that. So as we continue into this practice today, if what I'm saying is not on the PDF, that's okay. You can add it if you'd like, or you can just stick to the PDF. I'm just doing what God is asking me to do each episode by episode. Okay. If you're still here and you're new, thank you for trusting me with this. Why not try it? Right? Why not try it and see what you think. And if you like it, try it again. Now, what's going to happen is I am going to give you a prompt, and I want you to either get a journal out and write the answers, or I want you to really think about it heavily while you're doing whatever you're doing. If you are watching dishes or walking, you can still do this. You're just going to need to take the time to think on the things I am asking you to think on or write them down. Now, what I'm going to do this time is I'm going to leave 60 to 90 second pauses in between each section. I got some feedback from you and the ones who did give me feedback likes, you guys said you liked the pause in there, so I'm going to keep it. If you need more time, just pause me and take as much time as you need for each section. So you don't have to worry, I'm going to walk you through this entire process. If you don't have the PDF yet, that is okay. You can do this entire thing without it. And then at the end of today's episode, go grab it. So you have it when you don't have the capacity to get on and listen to an entire podcast. Okay, are you ready? This is going to be so fun. It's going to be life giving this practice has changed my life. I talk about that in episode 65, and I believe it can for you too. If you're willing to try it, and commit to it for 60s, 3 days at least. Okay, here we go. All right, let's take a deep breath in so we can comb our nervous system down and our brain and our body. So deep breath in for me. And let it out one more time, a deep breath in. And let it out. And let's just get our heart centered on God. I'm going to pray for us. God, I thank you so much for this day, this time that you've carved out. We ask that you would come and be with us. Holy Spirit come and fill this room. Be the loudest voice in the in the room. Guide this practice. We want to be with you. We come here, God, to practice the principles that you say in your word, about renewing our mind. We ask that you would come as we do our part, would you come and do this supernatural part of healing us, transforming us like only you can. We love you. We thank you, God, have your way. In Jesus name. Amen. Okay, we start with gratitude. And as I said, I explain that episode 65 of why. But right now I want you to just spend 90 seconds riding down gratitude. And in this section, we call it 24 hour gratitude. So it's anything you're grateful for in the last 24 hours. Take time to notice, to remember, write it down or think about it. And as you do that, let the joy bubble up bubble back up for you like it did in the moment. And maybe in the moment, you didn't even notice it. You missed it. You missed that little moment where your kid reached out and touched your hand or you missed the moment or didn't have time to savor the moment where you saw your kid help you, you know, do the dishes or your spouse said the sweet word, whether you or your friend sent you a text message. Take time now to look back and think about the things you can be grateful for that happened in the last 24 hours. I'll be back in 90 seconds. And if you need more time, you can just pause me and come back when you're ready. you you you Next section we're going to do is called lay it down. Just take 60 seconds and lay down literally right or say anything that's weighing heavy on you. Just imagine yourself taking it out of your backpack and hanging it to Jesus. It's a list. This, this, this. We don't have to ask him about it yet. We're not praying. We are just literally casting all our burdens on God because he said we could. Take 60 seconds to do that now. [BLANK_AUDIO] Now that we've let God have all of those concerns, let's spend some time going back to gratitude. We want to enter his presence, state in his presence with Thanksgiving. So in this section it's called endless gratitude and here you can write anything you're grateful for. You can be within the last 72 hours or just overarching in your whole entire life. Just spend some time deciding and proclaiming and remembering what you're grateful for. I'm going to give you 60 seconds. [BLANK_AUDIO] Next section is called ask. Spend time asking God for what you need. This is prayer. And I feel led to go back to that and lay it down list. And this time ask God specifically about those things. Ask him to do things. Ask him to move. Ask him for wisdom and guidance and discernment. So we are going to spend 60 seconds to ask. And then I'll come back and I'm going to cue you to listen. So right now you're just getting very clear about what you need. I need wisdom. I need direction. I need to know what you're thinking about this. And then later in the next section we will listen. So right now just be bold like a child and ask your heavenly father for what you need. [BLANK_AUDIO] Now let's listen. Take time to get quiet. All the things that have been on your heart that you've been curious about, God knows. So take a moment. I'm going to do 90 seconds this time and just listen and let God speak to you about each thing you asked. So look at the list and go one by one. God what do you say about this? And if this is new for you hearing God's voice is new for you, take the pressure off and just sit for 15 seconds on each one and see if any thought or idea or word or picture comes to your mind. Even if you don't understand it, write it down. In faith just write it down, leave it in your journal and see what comes of it. If you're praying about your decision for a job and the picture or an idea of pizza comes to your head like it's okay, just write it down. And let's just trust the Lord that maybe you heard him maybe you didn't. It doesn't matter. What matters is you are seeking him and that honors his heart. So take 90 seconds to listen and let God speak to you on each of those things you've laid down and you've asked him about. [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] Our next section we're going to call what I carry. So if you're writing you can write the statement what I carry. This is not on the PDF. It's a section we did last week and I feel like we're supposed to continue it. And so here you're going to list all the things that you carry, the gifts you carry, the abilities, the passions, the dreams, the things that people have maybe spoken over you, even if you don't believe it yet. But you're working to renew your mind and believe it. Or if you know it but a lot of times the enemy tries to rob you of it or thoughts come up that make you doubt it. Here you're going to get bold and walk in authority and declare all the things you carry. This could be I am this. I have this. These are my gifts. Write them down with confidence over the next 60 seconds. [BLANK_AUDIO] Next section is going to add on to that. Okay, another new section. Thanks for trusting me with this. This one's going to be called schemes. Right, the word "schemes" down. And this I want you to start recognizing the schemes of the enemy that have been coming against what you carry. So these are going to be lies that you've believed about yourself or thoughts that have come up for you, maybe things that were spoken over you that go directly against what you know you carry. For an example, I, for the longest time, struggled with people pleasing, feeling like I had to hide or silence my own desires, my own gifts, my own opinions to please others. And so I would right here people pleasing or fear of man, because that was a scheme of the enemy to keep me from what I really carry. What I really carry is I am a people see or I see people. I can tell when they have needs. I can tell when they have concerns. I can tell when they have gifts and abilities. I can see them. But somewhere in my life the enemy saw that gift and wanted to come against it and he contorted it and twisted it and made it into this behavior I had that was not honoring to God or giving me peace, which was people pleasing. So hopefully that example helps you. And if you're not really sure what what the scheme is, just start to list the negative thoughts you have about yourself or the negative things someone else has spoken over you. You want to call those things out bring them to the light so the enemy can't keep using that attack against us anymore. So take 90 seconds, ask Holy Spirit to reveal what are the schemes that the enemy has been using against you. Get curious and write those down. [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] Good job friend. Another news section. This one I think might have done it last week, but if you have the PDF it's not there. This one we are going to rebuke. Rebuke is just a fancy way to say no. We're going to take that list of schemes and we're going to say no. You're going to pray a prayer of authority. You're going to say no, I no longer participate in people pleasing. No, I no longer believe this lie. No, I no longer let that thing spoken over me hold me back. We say no to it. I want you to, you don't have to write anything down if you don't want to. I want you to use your mouth if you can. Now if you're in a public place like a coffee shop then just think the thoughts with authority. No, this is not who I am. No, this is not happening. You're rebuking it. You're saying, Satan get behind me. Take your authority, take ground, take the next 60 seconds and go to battle for yourself. [BLANK_AUDIO] Way to go. Way to take up your authority and stand your ground. That's so awesome. Last section is we are going to declare. And now these might be just the same thing as your what you carry, but they might be other things as well, but I want you to declare who you are. I want you to write, I am this. I am bold, I am courageous, I am chosen, I am loved. All the I am statements you need in order to start believing the truth that God's words says about you, the things that you carry, start carrying those things. When we declare them, we're doing beautiful things in the brain so that they come to the front of mine louder than those lies. So in this last section, just start to boldly declare. Don't hold back. And if it's not something you believe you are yet, but you want to be, you want to be something, you want to be anything, maybe you want to be tidy, maybe you want to be disciplined, maybe you want to be kind, maybe you want to be a people's seer. Because you like that idea. Okay, great, if it's God's idea, then you could have it, it's not just mine, you could have it too. So start to declare who you are or who you're becoming with I am statements. You have 60 seconds. [BLANK_AUDIO] [BLANK_AUDIO] Also, I'm a good job today friend. I hope this blessed you. I am going to wrap up with letting you go and letting you go start your day or wrap up your day. But I want to encourage you to come back again tomorrow and listen to this and the day after that and the day after that so that you can be transformed by renewing what you think and the neuroplasticity is partnering with God's truth.
